- 0:00Speaker 1: Time now for Back to the Basics in Healthcare with
- 0:02Speaker 1: Balanced Life Chiropractic. We're here with Dr. Harley, and she's
- 0:04Speaker 1: giving us a tour of the spine. And today we're
- 0:07Speaker 1: at T4, and that's just below T3 that we talked
- 0:10Speaker 1: about last week. And there's probably some overlap on some
- 0:13Speaker 1: of these things, but what would be the big differentiator
- 0:15Speaker 1: between T3 and T4 that we're talking about this week?
- 0:18Speaker 2: So this week we're working our way down the spine.
- 0:21Speaker 2: We're also working our way down our organ system. So
- 0:24Speaker 2: we're getting actually more into the digestive part now. So
- 0:26Speaker 2: we've done the heart, the lungs. Those are the big
- 0:28Speaker 2: ones in the upper chest. As we work our way
- 0:30Speaker 2: down the rib cage, we have our gallbladder, and that's
- 0:32Speaker 2: where we're at today is gallbladder and the common duct,
- 0:35Speaker 2: which is part of the gallbladder.
- 0:37Speaker 1: So we're kind of going down the spine and down
- 0:39Speaker 1: the organ trail.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Sorry. That was a good one. I like it.
- 0:43Speaker 1: So gallbladder conditions, jaundice and shingles. Again, this is all
- 0:47Speaker 1: stuff that we've heard of, but I never probably would
- 0:49Speaker 1: have connected that to the T4 until I'm looking at
- 0:53Speaker 1: this with you. And there's so many things, because our
- 0:55Speaker 1: body's all connected, and there's so many things that this
- 0:57Speaker 1: is connected to that. And if somebody's having an issue...
- 1:00Speaker 1: They might not have any clue what it's from, but
- 1:02Speaker 1: if they're having an issue and they're going, hey, I
- 1:03Speaker 1: have this, I have that, it would be a good
- 1:05Speaker 1: idea to seek chiropractic help because it could literally just
- 1:08Speaker 1: be you needed an adjustment.
- 1:09Speaker 2: For sure. We take the tension out of that area.
- 1:12Speaker 2: We take the interference in the nervous system out of
- 1:15Speaker 2: that area. I'm not saying getting adjusted is going to
- 1:17Speaker 2: stop your gallbladder attack by any means, but having a
- 1:20Speaker 2: healthy nervous system communicating with your gallbladder can help it
- 1:23Speaker 2: to function better, helping to avoid having a gallbladder attack
- 1:27Speaker 2: and helping it to actually release you know, bio-like is
- 1:31Speaker 2: supposed to.
- 1:32Speaker 1: If somebody listening is going, hey, I've had some issues
- 1:34Speaker 1: with that, what is the best way for them to
- 1:37Speaker 1: come in and see you? Should they make an appointment?
- 1:38Speaker 1: And when they call, should they say, I think it's T4?
- 1:41Speaker 1: Or do they just come in and say, doc, you
- 1:43Speaker 1: fix me?
- 1:43Speaker 2: No, you don't need to say specifically, I know this
- 1:45Speaker 2: is what it is. You need to have an idea. No,
- 1:48Speaker 2: you don't have to have an idea. Remember, we've talked
- 1:49Speaker 2: about everything's really all interconnected. So it could actually be
- 1:52Speaker 2: another area of the spine that's causing this particular problem.
- 1:54Speaker 2: It could be the ones that we have been talking about.
- 1:57Speaker 1: So we as people don't need to know all this.
- 1:58Speaker 1: We just need to know your numbers so you can say,
- 2:00Speaker 1: here's what it is and we're going to fix it. Right.
- 2:02Speaker 2: You just need to be able to get to the
- 2:03Speaker 2: office so then we can have that conversation and work
- 2:06Speaker 2: on correcting the problem. So we've talked about gallbladder stuff.
- 2:09Speaker 2: One we mentioned was shingles. And for the older adults listening,
- 2:12Speaker 2: be like, oh, yeah, yeah, I know about shingles. I've
- 2:15Speaker 2: heard it. I've had it. The interesting thing with shingles
- 2:18Speaker 2: is It follows, they're called the dermatome. So each of
- 2:21Speaker 2: these sections we've talked about have a specific area on
- 2:24Speaker 2: the skin that causes like the feeling part of it.
- 2:28Speaker 2: So shingles actually follows these dermatomes. And that's where you
- 2:32Speaker 2: can see it kind of like a horizontal stripe across
- 2:34Speaker 2: the chest or the upper back, or sometimes people get
- 2:36Speaker 2: it on their face or their neck. It seems like
- 2:39Speaker 2: it's more common kind of in the chest and upper
- 2:41Speaker 2: back area. So that's where it's like, as we're going
- 2:43Speaker 2: along these, people might be like, oh, I do actually
- 2:46Speaker 2: know what this one's talking about because I've had shingles
- 2:48Speaker 2: or Family members have had shingles. Very cool.
- 2:51Speaker 1: And again, I never would have connected that. But now
- 2:54Speaker 1: that I've had a chance to do this with you
- 2:56Speaker 1: for a few years, I feel like I know that
- 2:58Speaker 1: everything is connected to everything, it seems like.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Very much so.
- 3:01Speaker 1: So if somebody listening is going, hey, I would like
- 3:02Speaker 1: to connect with you at Balanced Life Chiropractic, what is
- 3:05Speaker 1: the best way for them to get a hold of
- 3:06Speaker 1: you to set an appointment?
- 3:07Speaker 2: Yeah, really as simple as a phone call. Our phone
- 3:09Speaker 2: number is 605-215-1785. Or you can reach out to us
- 3:13Speaker 2: on our website. We have a book online option there.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Very nice. That website, super simple, super easy. It's balancedlifesd.com.
