Latest / The Uncensored Catholic / Show 34: What did Jesus mean, "Call no man father"?
Transcript
- 1:00All welcome. Today's show is today we're going to get into really one of
- 1:03the most ridiculous arguments that anti Catholics make against Catholicism, against our belief in
- 1:11practices, against our cultural traditions, against the language we use. And you
- 1:17know, it's probably not gonna be that long of a show. Honestly,
- 1:19this one is so ludicrous on its face that shouldn't take much time. I
- 1:23think we can dispel this one in just a few minutes. So you know,
- 1:30they often make the charge. In fact, every anti Catholic I've ever
- 1:34encountered makes a charge. They say, Jesus said called no men on earth
- 1:40father, but Catholics call a priest father. Wow, Catholics can't possibly be
- 1:46Christian. They can't be following what Jesus said. Well, I guess if
- 1:49you're going to take one verse out of context and not use any of your
- 1:55mental faculties to consider what this might mean, it could be a convincing argument
- 2:00if you're a complete idiot. Think about it. At the time when Jesus
- 2:07said this, the Jews, the religious Jews of his era, called Abraham
- 2:14their father. They said, we have our father Abraham. Yeah, was
- 2:19he condemning all Jewish belief from the time of Abraham up to I don't know
- 2:27the last like four thousand years before he appeared on earth, and saying they
- 2:30were all condemned to hell because they had called Abraham their father. No,
- 2:36Abraham was the father of the Hebrew or Jewish race, you could say,
- 2:39of the Jewish religion that came through the Hebrew race. That was his natural
- 2:46role. He was their ancestor, He was their father. Every Jewish child
- 2:53who at least speaks Hebrew is going to say to call their father Abba.
- 2:57And although Jesus was speaking Aramaic and he would have used the Aramaic word for
- 3:01father, the meanings of the two were the same. Was he saying that
- 3:06every Jewish child, like especially the one that he had just held up and
- 3:09said you need to be like a child to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven,
- 3:14was condemned to hell because they called the man who fathered them baba or
- 3:20father. No that that really, that doesn't just defy logic. That is
- 3:30utterly ludicrous on its face. Really, I would call this argument silly,
- 3:38but as silly as it is, it really is one of the most common
- 3:42arguments that products making against Catholicism. It can really get worked up because we
- 3:47addressed the priest as father, you know, father Bob, father Dan,
- 3:53father whomever we call the Pope Pope, which comes from the Italian for Papa,
- 3:59and the Hope is the father to all the Catholic Church alive on the
- 4:02earth during his life. I have had people whom I had been friends with
- 4:11for years get in my face with this ridiculing, demonic laughter on this very
- 4:19point. And I am telling you you can basically dispel this one in five
- 4:27minutes or less. There's something about the nature of Protestant sermons, Bible studies,
- 4:34and devotionals. They seem to take more often than not. I won't
- 4:40say always, but yeah, I feel pretty comfortable almost saying always taking Bible
- 4:45verses out of context. A minister will preach an entire sermon on just like
- 4:49one or two sentences, rather than the overall meaning and the message of the
- 4:55chapter from which those words were taken. He doesn't, I mean much much
- 5:00less does he compare it to similar passages to explain its meaning. When passengers
- 5:05are taken out of context, their meaning is lost, especially when we remember
- 5:11that Jesus always spoke to the Jews in parables, if you did not understand
- 5:15the meaning of the parable, which he would then have to explain to his
- 5:19disciples, because even they couldn't get it. They would say, Lord,
- 5:23what does this mean? And why are you speaking to them in such hard
- 5:26to understand languages? And he said, well, because they denied the prophets,
- 5:30and they are people who have vision but don't see, and ears but
- 5:34don't hear you. Whatever that quote is. The end result is a simplistic
- 5:42and often erroneous understanding, especially of the more difficult books like say Daniel or
- 5:48the Book of Revelation, the apocalyptic books, that you have no idea what's
- 5:55being said in those books unless you understand the text on what they're written,
- 6:00the allegories, the references to books of the Old Testament, and really the
- 6:06teachings of the Catholic Church, one of the founding members of whom was Saint
- 6:12John, who wrote the Book of Revelation, and he did actually write much
- 6:15of it in code because he was in exile. And I mean, if
- 6:20you don't understand, if you don't have the context of history, especially the
- 6:26oral and written tradition of the Catholic Church post Biblical, you cannot understand the
- 6:30Book of Revelation, and that has been the cause for I don't even know
- 6:33how many cults, how many times in the history of just the United States,
- 6:39as someone stood up and said, oh, the world's going to come
- 6:41to an end on nineteen hundred, on January first, nineteen hundred. Because
- 6:45I did the math, and I've looked at the Book of Revelation, Sell
- 6:48all you got, give it to the poor, get ready for the rapture.
- 6:53And actually the rapture is completely unbiblical. That's only a concept that's about
- 6:58fifty years old, maybe sixty at this point. The Bible actually says those
- 7:03who endure into the end will be saved. But again, you can't understand
- 7:06that unless you get it in context. But you know, this is so
- 7:11much more simple than that. We'll get into all that at some point.
- 7:14I mean, we'll go through the apocalyptic writings and I will help you understand.
- 7:18Hopefully I can help my Protestant brothers and sisters understand the Book of Revelation.
- 7:25Especially, maybe I can help my Catholic brothers and sisters understand who have
- 7:29been perhaps poorly educated in our modern Catholic schools, which are not well they
- 7:36let's just say, they seem to be more focused on social justice and environmental
- 7:41issues and on actually educating souls and getting people to heaven, you know,
- 7:45if they've been thoroughly infiltrated by communism essentially liberalism, if you feel more comfortable
- 7:50in calling it that. But then many people just don't read the Bible in
- 7:58context, and you have to read the Bible in context for years. January
- 8:03one, I started the first page of Genesis and I finished. I read
- 8:07a page, well, five pages a day is what I usually do,
- 8:09and even if I missed some days and I take a few days off,
- 8:13you know, read the entire Bible cover to cover. I'm not bragging,
- 8:16I'm saying that's the way one ought to read the Bible, at least from
- 8:20the beginning to the end of a chapter or a book, I should say
- 8:24of a book, but especially from page one of Genesis to the very last
- 8:31page of the Book of Revelations. And then the early church fathers and who
- 8:37explained to early Christians were almost universally illiterate. People could not pick up a
- 8:43Bible and read it because they couldn't read. The first few hundred years of
- 8:48the Church was almost entirely oral. Bibles were expensive. They were copied by
- 8:54hand. Just one copy of the Bible would cost them about fifty thousand dollars
- 8:58in today's terms. There was only one for each church, and they would
- 9:03bring it out and they display it, and the priests would read to the
- 9:07congregation, just as he does today at Mass, and he would give a
- 9:11homily explaining what it meant. And he knew what it meant because he had
- 9:15gone to legitimate Catholic schools where he had gone through years and years of years
- 9:20of explaining exactly what the Bible meant in an unbroken chain, all the way
- 9:24up to the very apostles who wrote the Gospels. When someone picks up a
- 9:30Bible of a day, you know, God willing they have a decent translation.
- 9:33Most don't, you know, it used to be that well, even
- 9:39Protestants respect of the Dewey Reems. The Dewey Rahims is a solid Bible.
- 9:41It contains all the books, and it is close, in very very close,
- 9:48probably one of the most accurate of all in translation of the first Bibles,
- 9:52like when Saint Jerome translated the Bible from to Latin, which was the
- 9:56universal language of the time. If someone picks of the King James Bible and
- 10:01they read it with books cut out, several books cut out, because you
- 10:07know, it didn't fit with Protestant doctrine. It had been Christian doctrine for
- 10:11fifteen hundred years almost, but Martin Luther didn't like it. Martin Luther wanted
- 10:16to cut out the Book of James. He wanted to cut out the Book
- 10:18of Revelations. He wanted to cut out anything that he didn't like. And
- 10:22he changed the very words of Jesus Christ himself and admitted it and bragged about
- 10:26it. And when asked who his authority was, he says, it's doctor
- 10:30Luther. He was his own authority. He set himself up as his own
- 10:33God, much as the devil himself did when he were railed against God.
- 10:39Maybe I'm a little harsh, but I've read left his writings to know that
- 10:43was not a good Christian man in my opinion. In my opinion, and
- 10:48he was once universally considered an Antichrist, one opposed to Christ by all faithful
- 10:54Christians, ie Catholics and most Orthodox. But if someone picks up a King
- 11:00James version or an even more modern translation, you know, with the good
- 11:03News Bible that was out popular in the seventies. They're gonna have absolutely no
- 11:09idea what it means. Pick up a Mormon Bible, pick up a Jehovah's
- 11:15Witness Bible. They're so altered and change, you're not going to have any
- 11:18idea what true what the actual Bible as written, you know, by with
- 11:26the New Testament, at least written by the Catholic Church. The entire Bible,
- 11:31compiled and organized by the Catholic Church, published by the Catholic Church,
- 11:37hand written and copied with incredible devout intent for well over a thousand years,
- 11:46and then finally made available in a more mass form, which still took a
- 11:50lot of time. By Guttenberg. A Catholic, and you're basing it on
- 11:58what what are you basing it on? I read the when I think I
- 12:00understand it. But my understanding the Bible is different than everybody else's. But
- 12:03I think I'm guided by the Holy Spirit. That's sort of the Protestant argument.
- 12:09That's not my argument. I say I read the Bible in the context
- 12:11not only of the words of the Bible, but in the entire Christian tradition
- 12:16of Christianity, going back to day one. That's the only way you're gonna
- 12:22understand the Bible. And how can you how wrong can you go? Well,
- 12:28let's look at it all right, let's look at the quote they're referencing,
- 12:31Matthew twenty three eight through nine. You, however, must not allow
- 12:35yourselves to be called rabbi, since you have only one master and you are
- 12:39all brothers. You must call no one on earth your father, since you
- 12:43have only one father and he is in heaven. Nor must you allow yourselves
- 12:48to be called teachers, for you have only one teacher, the Christ.
- 12:52That's a pretty strong statement, right. Taken out of context, it makes
- 12:58no sense on the surface. Jesus said called no one rabbi, father or
- 13:03teacher. Yet consider the following biblical quotes Corinthians four fourteen through seventeen twenty.
- 13:09I am writing all this not to make you a shame, but simply to
- 13:13remind you, as my dear children, for even though you might have a
- 13:18ten thousand slaves to look after you in Christ, you still have no more
- 13:20than one father. And it was I who fathered you in Christ by the
- 13:24Gospel. That is why I urge you to take me as your pattern,
- 13:28and why I have sent you Timothy, a dear and faithful son to me
- 13:31in the Lord, who will remind you of my principles of conduct in Christ
- 13:35as I teach them everywhere, as I teach them everywhere in every church.
- 13:39For the Kingdom of God consists not in spoken words, but in power.
- 13:45So was Saint Paul, the author of most of the books of the New
- 13:48Testament, disobeying the words of Jesus when he referred to himself as their father.
- 13:54Absolutely not. And remember that the Kingdom of God exists not consistent in
- 14:03spoken words, but of power. The words written down in the book,
- 14:09even though it be the word of God, only have authority through the sacred
- 14:16tradition of the Church he founded without Christianity, as your Protestants came to know
- 14:24it through the tradition that was started from the Catholic Church. You have no
- 14:28foundation to even believe the Bible. How do you know the Bible is any
- 14:31more important than any other book? How do you know the God and the
- 14:35Bible is the true God? You do because, for you know, fifteen
- 14:41hundred years essentially, I'm just estimating fourteen hundred and some. You know,
- 14:46the only church was Catholic and the Catholic Church christianized the West. And without
- 14:52the Catholic Church, you not only have no Bible, you have no reason
- 14:56to believe the Bible. How would you know the Bible was any more authoritative
- 15:00than the Book of Mormon. Had not your parents told you, your grandparents
- 15:03told them, their great grandparents told them, going all the way back to
- 15:07the Apostles of Jesus, who, when they were writing these books were being
- 15:13persecuted and killed and even crucified and martyred by the Jewish authorities and the Greeks
- 15:22and the Romans, who said they were totally illegitimate. Were it not for
- 15:28the Catholic Church, you would have to convert to Judaism to worship the One
- 15:33and True God. You would only have the books of the Old Testament,
- 15:37the Tour and the Talmud, and most of you probably wouldn't make the cut.
- 15:45It's pretty darn hard to be a faithful Jew. Most Jews couldn't do
- 15:48it. Jesus made that very clear first Thessalonians two through eleven. As you
- 15:58know, we treated every one of you as a father treats his children.
- 16:02There again in Thessalonians, as a father treats his children Hebrews twelve nine through
- 16:07seventeen. Besides, we have all had human fathers who punished us, and
- 16:11we respected them for it. All the more readily ought we to submit to
- 16:15the Father of the Spirit, so to earn life. Our human fathers were
- 16:18training us for a short life according to their own lights. But He does
- 16:22it off for our own good, that we may share in his own holiness.
- 16:26So steady, all weary hands and trembling knees, and make your crooked
- 16:30paths straight. Then the injured limb would not be maimed. It will get
- 16:33better. Instead, seek peace with all people, and holiness without without which
- 16:38no one can ever see the Lord. Be careful that no one is deprived
- 16:42of the grace of God, and that there is no root of bitterness should
- 16:45begin to grow and make trouble, this can poison a large number. And
- 16:49be careful that there is no immoral person or anyone worldly minded like Esaul,
- 16:55who sold his birthright for a single meal. As you know, when he
- 16:57wanted to obtain the blessing afterward, he was rejected, and though he pleaded
- 17:02for it with tears, he could find no way of reversing the decision.
- 17:07Again, here's Saint Paul referring to himself and the other apostles as fathers.
- 17:14The Bible cannot disagree with itself. You cannot believe one chapter and disbelieve another
- 17:19without disbelieving the entire Bible, because unless it is entirely true and inspired by
- 17:26the Holy Spirit and the Word of God, it has no authority whatsoever.
- 17:30And here we seem to find the Bible disagreeing with itself. And yet here's
- 17:36Saint Paul saying, no division among you. Don't let people cause bitterness,
- 17:41don't let me people make trouble, don't let people say. Hey, wait
- 17:44a minute. Jesus said, call no man father, and yet you're calling
- 17:48someone father. You must not be a real Christian. No, You're supposed
- 17:52to be in unity, and you actually cannot be in unity unless you're in
- 17:56unity with the one Church that Jesus founded and guaranteed against all error, the
- 18:03Church that wrote the Bible, the Church threw whom you have your only knowledge
- 18:08of Christianity. So what are we to think, did Saint Paul violate the
- 18:14commandment of Christ? What are the ten commandments? Honor thy Father and thy
- 18:18Mother. Going back to Moses, we have the commandment, honor thy father
- 18:22and thy mother. Well, if Jesus said, call no man on earth,
- 18:26father, how can you honor your father on earth? And he made
- 18:33clear when he was talking about how the religious Jews, the Pharisees and Scribes
- 18:37at the time were allowing people to violate the Law of Moses by violating the
- 18:44commandment of not honoring their father, by taking property that was supposed to be
- 18:48pledged to their earthly father and dedicating in some way to the temple, they
- 18:53wouldn't get out of providing for their parents. He made clear that that first
- 19:00commandment in the first place, was violating the commitment to honor your earthly father,
- 19:06the man to whose genetics you have birth, not your father in heaven.
- 19:11So is Jesus contradicting himself. Does the Bible disagree with itself? You
- 19:18know, once again we see the Protestant belief in soul of scriptura undermines Christianity
- 19:23itself, leaving no valid authority and nothing solid on which to believe. Because
- 19:30if anybody can just pick up the Bible, pick a passage and say this
- 19:33is what it says, they can get it wrong, and they do.
- 19:37We have fifty thousand Protestant denominations, each of which disagree with each other,
- 19:41and all of whom disagree with the Catholic Church. Only one can be right,
- 19:47because there's only one truth. Do you think maybe it might be the
- 19:49church that Jesus found it, that stood for fifteen hundred years or so before
- 19:53any other church on earth was founded. Or is it somebody who calls himself
- 19:59a possible bob who sat up at a set up at a storefront down the
- 20:03street, who's out there screaming at people about hell, fire and damnation.
- 20:07I think I'm gonna stick with the one that actually agrees with the Bible in
- 20:14context, wrote, authored it, published it, and is the shining city
- 20:22set upon the hill, visible to all ages until Jesus comes again. You
- 20:25see, only one church was there two thousand or so years ago. Only
- 20:30one human institution has stood that long, and only one church will be standing
- 20:34when Jesus comes again. Because a house build upon sand cannot stand, a
- 20:41house built upon stone will endure, Jesus said Saint Peter. Though at the
- 20:48rock I will upun you. I'll build my church, and the gates of
- 20:51hell shall not prevail against it. Jesus elevated us from the role of slave
- 20:57and made us cos his brothers and sisters. We can use the brains God
- 21:03gave us to reason. Only with reason and prayer can we understand the Bible.
- 21:08But even that is not enough. Remember what the Ethiopian Acts six said
- 21:14in reference to baptism. The Angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying,
- 21:18set out at noon and go along the road that leads that leads from
- 21:22Jerusalem down to Gaza, the desert road. So he set off in his
- 21:25journey. Now, an Ethiopian had been on pilgrimage to Jerusalem. He was
- 21:29a eunuch and an officer at the court of the Kandac I don't know how
- 21:33to pronounce it, or Queen of Ethiopia. He was her chief treasurer.
- 21:37He was now on his way home, and as he sat in the chariot,
- 21:40he was reading the prophet Isaiah. The Spirit said to Philip, go
- 21:42up and join the chariot. When Philip ran up, he heard him reading
- 21:45Isaiah the Prophet and ask him, do you understand what you were reading?
- 21:49He replied, how could I unless someone guide me. So he urged Philip
- 21:55get in and sit by his side. Now the passengers passengers. Sure he's
- 22:00reading was this like a lamb led to the slaughterhouse, like a sheep dumb
- 22:04in front of its shearers. He never opens his mouth in his humiliation,
- 22:08fair judgment was denied him. Who will ever talk about his descendants? Since
- 22:12his life on earth has been cut short? The Unuch address Philip and said,
- 22:15tell me, is the prophet referring to himself or someone else? Starting
- 22:21therefore, with this text of scripture, Philip proceeded to explain the good news
- 22:25of Jesus to him, without sacred tradition, without the teachings of the apostles
- 22:33to those who followed them, who passed it onto those who followed them,
- 22:37who passed it onto those who followed them. You cannot just open the Bible
- 22:41and understand it. The Bible doesn't say you can. The Bible says,
- 22:52I believe it's the gospel. John will have to double check. All that
- 22:56is written here is so that you may believe in Jesus. Lord Jesus did
- 23:00many other things, he said, many other things, and all that would
- 23:04feel more books than could feel the earth. What is written here is just
- 23:07for your belief, And Saint Paul says, hold fast to the Church,
- 23:11which is the pillar and foundation of the truth. Nowhere in the Bible does
- 23:15the Bible say the Bible owner is the sole authority. It says it's good
- 23:19for instruction. But here, right here, in the Bible, it's very
- 23:23clear you can't understand it unless you have a spiritual father to explain it to
- 23:32you and to guide you, someone more rooted in wisdom. Probably no coincidence
- 23:40that one of the books that Martin Luther had cut out of the Bible is
- 23:44the Book of Wisdom. Yeah, you might want to read that book.
- 23:48Actually, you might want to actually see that and see what all Christians believed
- 23:52until one very vain and evil man cut it out of the Bible, what
- 23:59the Church is traditionally believed and yes, even taught about the subject. It's
- 24:03very reasonable. No, Saint Paul did not violate the teachings of Christ.
- 24:07Nor did Jesus violate his own word when he instructed his disciples to teach all
- 24:12nations, thus making them teachers. Remember, he said call an no man,
- 24:18rabbi, father, or teacher, and yet he tells him to go
- 24:21teach all nations. A teacher is not a title, it's a role.
- 24:26If one teaches, he becomes a teacher. There is no logical way of
- 24:30making sense of what Jesus said unless you realize, unless you understand it in
- 24:36context. And yet Protestants will say, call no man father. And yet
- 24:40they call their own father father or daddy, or papa or papa, or
- 24:44any word that means the exact same thing. And they certainly go to school
- 24:48and have teachers. And they never said, wait a minute, you can't
- 24:51call yourself a teacher. Jesus said, call no man teacher. And they
- 24:55don't run up to Jesus and say, don't call yourself a rabbi. Jesus
- 24:57said, call no man rabbi. Come on, y'all, this is ridiculous.
- 25:03He also did not correct the people who called him rabbi. The words
- 25:07teacher, rabbi, and father are roles that are fulfilled by a person.
- 25:11If you're a teacher, If you teach, you're a teacher. If you
- 25:15send your child to school, they're taught by teachers. A Jewish religious teacher
- 25:18and efficient is a rabbi. One who contributes his DNA to the creation of
- 25:22a child is a father. The same as true in any language. You
- 25:26can call your earthly father by any name that is of that role, like
- 25:33I said, father, pop, daddy, Papa, pair, padre,
- 25:38vader if you're German whatever. Jesus was speaking Aramaic, and his words were
- 25:44written in Greek by Saint Matthew the language, and then translated into Latin by
- 25:52Saint Jerome, and then finally into English. And the people say, called
- 25:56no man father. They say no, you know he could have just usually
- 26:00say no, call no man daddy. What are you going to call your
- 26:03earthly progenitor, the man who through whom you are given birth, given existence?
- 26:14You have to give him a title because he has a role, and
- 26:17if you don't, you're actually violating the Ten Commandments honor your father and your
- 26:21mother. If you refuse to give the respect due to that role, you're
- 26:26dishonoring your father. Simply put, it's impossible to take the words called no
- 26:30man on earth father literally, because it's not the name that makes the father,
- 26:34but the act of fatherhood. You could call the man who fathered you
- 26:37by any term and he would still be a father. Traditionally, the Catholic
- 26:42Church has taught the only thing that makes sense about this Bible passage, Jesus
- 26:47meant that we should not ascribe to humans the attributes exclusive to God. During
- 26:52the time of Christ, earthly kings were worshiped as God's men, were assigned
- 26:56the attributes that belong to God alone. This was the very reason that the
- 27:00Pharisees and other Jews of religious authority kept trying to trick Jesus into speaking against
- 27:06Caesar. The words of Caesar were absolute and the highest authority, you know,
- 27:11much like when King Henry the Eighth declared himself the head of the Church
- 27:14of England based solely on his earthly authority as the King of England, nothing
- 27:18God given but his own British arrogance and evil. He was a very evil
- 27:26man. I don't think anyone could look at the life of King Henry the
- 27:29Eighth, the murderer, an adulterer, etc. A genocidal maniac and think
- 27:34he was anything but evil. And yet you know that King James version,
- 27:38that's the version of the Anglican Church. Who was that was founded by King
- 27:42Henry? So maybe you want to think again when you hold up the King
- 27:47James version as the authorized version. Yeah, it was authorized by a genocidal,
- 27:52murderous, adulterous, drunken maniac. The Romans demanded the authority of Caesar
- 27:59was higher than any other, even God. To publicly contradict Caesar meant execution.
- 28:04Our Lord was simply making the point that no human authority had authority higher
- 28:10than God. All fathers on earth who act as fathers that means protecting,
- 28:15providing, loving, and teaching their children receive their authority and due respect from
- 28:21our Father in Heaven. The honor due to them is commanded in the Ten
- 28:25Commandments and is a teaching of a very important relationship. When Saint Paul says
- 28:30that the Christians he taught and loved to whom he provided the sacraments, rightly
- 28:33called him father, it is because he acted as a spiritual father to them.
- 28:40Every priests acts just as Saint Paul did to his congregation. Every priest
- 28:44continues the mission of the apostles by Jesus to teach, forgive sins, heal,
- 28:49and to give the eucres. Every Catholic priest is rightly called father,
- 28:53just as one. Saint Paul the Pope is a spiritual father to all bishops,
- 28:57priests and Catholic faithful, and he is called by the most endearing form
- 29:00of the word meaning father and Italian Pope, which is a variation of the
- 29:06world Papa. Remember Second Timothy Chapter three. I think it's a verse sixteen
- 29:14through seventeen. All scripture is inspired by God and useful for refuting error,
- 29:18for guiding people's lives and teaching them to be upright. This is how someone
- 29:22who has dedicated to God becomes fully equipped and rape for any good work.
- 29:27Nowhereror is the Bible ensure that all who read it will understand it. To
- 29:32understand the Bible, like the Ethiopian St. Pilip with Saint Philip, we
- 29:37need someone to explain the more difficult passages. We need a spiritual father who
- 29:41is faithful to the teachings of the Catholic Church, the only institution on earth
- 29:45guaranteed by Jesus, our Lord and Savior, to be guided into all truth
- 29:49by the Holy Spirit and free from error. But I'm gonna say in this
- 29:56instance, if you didn't take that verse called no man on earth Father out
- 30:03of context, and you read along with rabbi and teacher, and then you
- 30:07read a little bit ahead in the New Testament where you know Saint Paul's saying,
- 30:11rightly, you call me father, and I have been a Father to
- 30:15you, and you think about the Father Abraham, and you think all that,
- 30:22Yeah, you can probably figure this one out on your own, if
- 30:25you weren't either a complete moron or so blinded by anti Catholic bigotry that you
- 30:33have to twist the words of the Bible just to try to find fault in
- 30:37the Catholic Church. That's probably a little harsh, but I've been treated very
- 30:42harshly on this account. I've actually had some someone get very violent towards me
- 30:51over this passage, and I opened my Bible and tried to show them these
- 30:56passages and they flew into a rage, which I could only consider to be
- 31:02a demonic rage. And that person would other bias, be considered a very
- 31:07good Baptist. There's something really not right when something like that happens. Christians,
- 31:19who are called to love each other usually don't get violent when someone tries
- 31:26to open their Bible and read a passage to them. So I'm going to
- 31:32leave it at that, and I'm going to say, in the words of
- 31:33Saint Padre Pio, pray, hope, and don't worry.
