- 0:34Speaker 3: Cleaning and getting ready for the three week from now debut.
- 0:38Speaker 4: I guess I couldn't believe it.
- 0:39Speaker 2: I looked at the calendar last night and I was like,
- 0:42Speaker 2: I know, wow, that Memorial Day is at the end
- 0:45Speaker 2: of the month.
- 0:46Speaker 3: I know.
- 0:46Speaker 4: I'm like, as it is every year.
- 0:49Speaker 2: Well, I know, but I'd be just like totally crept
- 0:51Speaker 2: up on me, you know, like April flew by. I mean, wow,
- 0:56Speaker 2: but yes, soon you'll be jumping in. Make sure you've
- 0:59Speaker 2: got well, make sure your fits perfect for the pool.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Though, I will say I don't usually jump in until
- 1:04Speaker 3: like June because it's pretty cold right right when it's
- 1:09Speaker 3: not always hot enough outside that water quite yet have heaters,
- 1:14Speaker 3: you know, and you do need to trust me, like
- 1:17Speaker 3: that's the thing.
- 1:17Speaker 2: It could be like ninety degrees at my parents' house,
- 1:21Speaker 2: right but if that ninety degrees has not boiled that
- 1:24Speaker 2: water in the pool, it's going to freeze you, and
- 1:28Speaker 2: you will you will notice things about you that just
- 1:31Speaker 2: go just completely shriveled and numb in unbelievable, unbelievable. I'm
- 1:37Speaker 2: very thankful for Meghan and Dave, who are friends of
- 1:40Speaker 2: my significant others who have kind of become by extension
- 1:43Speaker 2: friends of mine. They took Nova, Luna and Kona the
- 1:47Speaker 2: dog along with their dog Mickey to the ball game
- 1:51Speaker 2: last night because it was puffs in the park on
- 1:53Speaker 2: Sinco to Mile because you know, people need to be
- 1:55Speaker 2: in the Sinko to Mile mood to deal with the
- 1:58Speaker 2: dogs the park. But they took them last night. The
- 2:01Speaker 2: pictures looked great, and I was really jealous because I've
- 2:04Speaker 2: not been to ants game so far this year, but
- 2:07Speaker 2: I have a long season ahead of me and I
- 2:09Speaker 2: can work on that. But Meghan and Dave, thank you
- 2:12Speaker 2: for being a blessing and for giving us something or
- 2:15Speaker 2: giving me something to feel good about this morning?
- 2:17Speaker 4: Why are you feeling good? Hit us up?
- 2:19Speaker 2: Eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one
- 2:21Speaker 2: is the number we're always listening. Joy's contagious. Keep that
- 2:24Speaker 2: in mind when you call us and tell us and
- 2:27Speaker 2: stay there because coming up Chile the news.
- 2:29Speaker 4: Top Stories at the top of the hour. What you're
- 2:31Speaker 4: working on.
- 2:32Speaker 3: You may want to start limiting the amount of smoked
- 2:34Speaker 3: foods you eat because a study found that it can
- 2:39Speaker 3: increase your chance of cancer. I've got all the details
- 2:44Speaker 3: on the way in just a few minutes.
- 2:49Speaker 5: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 2:51Speaker 3: The President has paused a US Navy operation that's escorting
- 2:54Speaker 3: ships through the Strait of Horror moves to allow time
- 2:57Speaker 3: for potential negotiations with ERA Now. Despite the pause, he
- 3:01Speaker 3: did emphasize that the US blockade on Iran remains fully
- 3:06Speaker 3: in effect, while Iran criticized the operation has a violation
- 3:10Speaker 3: as a rather violation of the current ceasefire. Multiple high
- 3:14Speaker 3: ranking DC police officials were demoted or reassigned after an
- 3:19Speaker 3: internal investigation into alleged manipulation of crime statistics.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Now.
- 3:24Speaker 3: The probe led to leadership shakeups with several officials placed
- 3:28Speaker 3: on leave or facing discipline as authorities review how crime
- 3:32Speaker 3: data may have been reported. Debris from the demolished Whitehouse
- 3:36Speaker 3: East Wing that was dumped at the East Potomac Golf
- 3:39Speaker 3: Links has reportedly tested positive for toxic metals. The findings
- 3:44Speaker 3: have raised environmental and legal concerns. Prince George's County cracking
- 3:49Speaker 3: down on illegal street takeovers with new penalties that targets
- 3:54Speaker 3: not just drivers, but spectators too. Officials say simply showing
- 3:59Speaker 3: up to one of these things could cost you at
- 4:01Speaker 3: least one thousand dollars and up to two months in jail.
- 4:05Speaker 3: A casino will not be coming to downtown Herndon after
- 4:08Speaker 3: the Planning Commission voted to block such developments, citing strong
- 4:12Speaker 3: public opposition. Now the move could spark a legal battle
- 4:16Speaker 3: over the future of the downtown property, and according to
- 4:20Speaker 3: a recent study, smoked foods like salmon, even fake smoked
- 4:24Speaker 3: flavors added to meat, cheese, and bacon crisps, could raise
- 4:29Speaker 3: one's cancer risk. Carcinogenics that were formed during the smoking
- 4:34Speaker 3: process apparently can harm the body when it's eaten in
- 4:37Speaker 3: large amounts. Forecasts for today, keep that umbrella handy. We're
- 4:41Speaker 3: gonna have rain preached throughout the day. Highs around seventy
- 4:44Speaker 3: right now sixty seven in Clinton.
- 4:46Speaker 4: And that is the news.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Remember tell five friends that you get your news with
- 4:51Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the Morning top stories at the
- 4:53Speaker 2: top of the hour, and tell those same friends that
- 4:56Speaker 2: we pause to talk about how you're doing with your
- 4:58Speaker 2: morning line set that we hope will inspire you to
- 5:01Speaker 2: have a better day today, might turn your day around,
- 5:03Speaker 2: or could just add more fuel to the fire that
- 5:06Speaker 2: is your life. And we'll share those words with you
- 5:09Speaker 2: coming up next with Toby and Chilly in the Morning
- 5:13Speaker 2: ninety seven point one watch FM Toby and Chilly in
- 5:15Speaker 2: the Morning. And it's time now for the Wednesday edition
- 5:18Speaker 2: of your morning Mindset.
- 5:20Speaker 3: This is where we pause and share a quote that
- 5:23Speaker 3: we've found hopefully get you into a better headspace.
- 5:25Speaker 2: From Mel Robbins, who needs no introduction. If you've been
- 5:28Speaker 2: playing along with the home game, you know we love
- 5:30Speaker 2: USA Mel Robbins.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Around here.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Mel says, stop waiting to feel ready, start anyway. Stop
- 5:38Speaker 2: waiting to feel ready start anyway. And this is important
- 5:42Speaker 2: for all of us, myself included. A readiness shows up
- 5:47Speaker 2: after you begin, You're really not gonna know until you
- 5:51Speaker 2: jump in. It's kind of like swimming, you know, you
- 5:54Speaker 2: learn the basics, you learn certain things summertimes coming, You're
- 5:58Speaker 2: not gonna know what you can do until you jump
- 5:59Speaker 2: into the pool. Sometimes you jump into the deep end.
- 6:03Speaker 2: But that readiness will show up and once you begin,
- 6:06Speaker 2: So keep that in mind today, stop waiting to feel ready.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Start anyway, Mel Robbins, thank you for the inspiration today.
- 6:13Speaker 2: And if there's something that inspires you or maybe you
- 6:16Speaker 2: want to share that with somebody else, you can find
- 6:18Speaker 2: it on Insta, Facebook, all of the things to Toby
- 6:22Speaker 2: and Chillipage at washfm dot com. Send us a quick
- 6:24Speaker 2: email with a quote that inspires you and you will
- 6:27Speaker 2: probably hear it in this space coming up with ninety
- 6:30Speaker 2: seven point one WASHFM. Now stay there because in minutes.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Okay, yesterday was Cinco demayo. Some of you made a
- 6:37Speaker 3: decision that you regret today, that's right, or maybe in
- 6:40Speaker 3: the past, what was your worst sinko demio decision?
- 6:44Speaker 4: That's right.
- 6:44Speaker 2: And by the way, we're aware that there are some
- 6:46Speaker 2: people that may not be listening because they made a
- 6:49Speaker 2: Sinco de Mayo decision and they're sleeping in today because
- 6:54Speaker 2: they called in sick or something.
- 6:56Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one
- 6:59Speaker 2: is the number. Why don't you call now? Tell us
- 7:02Speaker 2: that story and we'll get to them coming up. Ninety
- 7:04Speaker 2: seven point one wash FM. It is the day after
- 7:08Speaker 2: Cinco de Mayo. Do you need an aspirin? Perhaps maybe
- 7:11Speaker 2: some pedialyte. Ninety seven point one wash FM. Toby at
- 7:15Speaker 2: Chili in the morning. We've all made bad decisions on
- 7:18Speaker 2: a Sinco de Mayo, probably fueled by stavesa cuervo, margaritas,
- 7:23Speaker 2: all of the above.
- 7:25Speaker 4: Have you made any bad sinkle to my decisions? Chili? Ever?
- 7:29Speaker 3: No, Thankfully I've somehow been responsible with what I've consumed.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Really, yes, I've made too many, countless bad decisions on
- 7:36Speaker 2: a sinco to Mayo.
- 7:38Speaker 4: I don't even know where I would begin.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Well, we're creating a space for all of you to
- 7:42Speaker 3: share your biggest Sinco de Mayo mistakes with us this morning.
- 7:45Speaker 2: It's a safe space at eight six six nine two
- 7:47Speaker 2: seven forty three sixty one. Let's go to oapton Good morning, Janis. So,
- 7:52Speaker 2: what happened?
- 7:53Speaker 6: The worst single than Mayo margarita decision I made was
- 7:57Speaker 6: I decided to get on this ride called a.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Spring shot has not good written all over it, not
- 8:02Speaker 2: even when you're sober.
- 8:03Speaker 3: What were you thinking?
- 8:04Speaker 4: It was horrible?
- 8:06Speaker 3: I don't know what I was thinking. I got sick.
- 8:09Speaker 7: It was awful.
- 8:10Speaker 4: I was sick for days, and my embarrassment.
- 8:13Speaker 3: Is not over yet.
- 8:14Speaker 2: This public service announcement brought to you by iHeartRadio in
- 8:18Speaker 2: ninety seven point one watch FM or Toby and Chilly
- 8:20Speaker 2: in the morning with a reminder don't get inebriated and
- 8:23Speaker 2: ride roller coasters called the Slingshot. It never ends well. Well, Janis,
- 8:29Speaker 2: thank you for the call this morning and for reminding
- 8:31Speaker 2: all of us what we shouldn't do. After rocking some
- 8:35Speaker 2: Cinco de Mayo margs and beverages as it were, chelsee
- 8:40Speaker 2: in Boston, Buenos Dias so Cinco to Mayo, what happens?
- 8:45Speaker 6: We ended up getting a couple of pictures of margaritas
- 8:47Speaker 6: me and my girlfriends, and it kind of like turned
- 8:50Speaker 6: out to be one picture per person. And after drinking it,
- 8:53Speaker 6: I decided to climb the fence to get into this
- 8:55Speaker 6: closed pool for like a midnight swim.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Oh yees, and then things started to go wrong. We're
- 9:01Speaker 3: guessing I made it over, but I.
- 9:03Speaker 6: Ended up slipping on the wet deck and I face planted.
- 9:07Speaker 5: Nothing broke my fall but.
- 9:08Speaker 6: My nose and I woke up with a black eye.
- 9:10Speaker 6: Bruce Rigs and like no memory at all how I
- 9:14Speaker 6: got home?
- 9:14Speaker 5: Thankfully?
- 9:15Speaker 3: You got home safely.
- 9:16Speaker 2: It appears good Lord, even though you blacked out in
- 9:19Speaker 2: the process.
- 9:20Speaker 4: What were you thinking? Oh, you weren't sinkle the mile?
- 9:24Speaker 4: The spirit hit you?
- 9:26Speaker 2: A La Braa C Toby and Chili in the morning

- 9:36Speaker 2: know about?
- 9:37Speaker 3: Prince George's County employees may soon get another day off
- 9:43Speaker 3: under a proposal introduced by a council member. I've got
- 9:47Speaker 3: all the details on what it would be for coming
- 9:50Speaker 3: up in just a bit.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Every week should be teacher appreciation week in my opinion,
- 9:55Speaker 2: because teachers touch the future they teach, and they should
- 9:57Speaker 2: be getting paid what lawyers and doctors are getting paid.
- 10:00Speaker 4: That's just me though.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Ninety seven point one wash FM, Congratulations to all of
- 10:05Speaker 2: the teachers in the DMV who scored five grand with

- 11:04Speaker 3: bill would provide about a billion dollars for winehouse security
- 11:08Speaker 3: upgrades linked to the President's planned ballroom project, but critics
- 11:12Speaker 3: argue that the money indirectly supports the construction of the ballroom.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Several top DC police leaders were demoted or moved to
- 11:21Speaker 3: new roles after an internal probe into possible manipulation of
- 11:25Speaker 3: crime data. The investigation triggered broader leadership changes, with some
- 11:29Speaker 3: officials placed on leave or facing discipline as authorities examine
- 11:34Speaker 3: how statistics were reported. The DC Council has approved a

- 12:08Speaker 3: voter turnout, although it would not apply to primary or
- 12:12Speaker 3: special elections. And a new wallet Hub report finds that

- 12:20Speaker 3: schools and ranks states based on financial literacy education. Top
- 12:26Speaker 3: performers include Utah, Virginia, and Florida for best preparing students

- 12:42Speaker 2: news with Toby and Chilly in the morning. Top stories
- 12:44Speaker 2: at the top of the hour and nurses, we're looking
- 12:47Speaker 2: at you this morning because today is National Nurses Day,
- 12:51Speaker 2: and oh, we've had some experiences with nurses. We'll share
- 12:55Speaker 2: some of those memories coming up in minutes, and maybe
- 12:57Speaker 2: you've got some too, so if you do, feel free
- 12:59Speaker 2: to reach chat tell us what they are. We're Toby
- 13:02Speaker 2: and Chilly in the morning and we'll get to all
- 13:03Speaker 2: of these coming up. Today is National Nurses Day, and
- 13:08Speaker 2: starting at about seven o'clock this morning, nurses all over
- 13:11Speaker 2: the DMV are going to report to their hospitals. They
- 13:14Speaker 2: are places of business and start of what can at
- 13:17Speaker 2: times be a very tough twelve hour shift. Bottom line
- 13:21Speaker 2: is they work selflessly on behalf of others. Ninety seven
- 13:25Speaker 2: point one wash fm 'orre Toby and Chile in the morning.
- 13:27Speaker 2: So let's celebrate the nurses who have done some incredible
- 13:31Speaker 2: things for us. Chili, I know that you've had your
- 13:34Speaker 2: own personal experiences with nurses, yeah, and then family members
- 13:38Speaker 2: have had experiences with nurses.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Yeah, you know. I want you to share how you
- 13:42Speaker 3: personally were affected by nurses during your recent hospitalizations. But
- 13:46Speaker 3: back when my mother was alive and during one of
- 13:49Speaker 3: her final hospitals days. There was a very intense medical
- 13:53Speaker 3: episode that occurred after that episode, and they were able to,
- 13:58Speaker 3: you know, help my mother. A nurse came in and
- 14:00Speaker 3: I thought she was there to check on mom because
- 14:03Speaker 3: Mom had been through something, and instead she said, no, no, no,
- 14:07Speaker 3: I came in here for you. How are you because
- 14:10Speaker 3: I know that was probably really hard for you to witness.
- 14:13Speaker 3: And of course I broke down and shared with her
- 14:17Speaker 3: what was going on in my heart and the fears,
- 14:19Speaker 3: and she sat with me and got me through it.
- 14:21Speaker 3: So that's sort of a reminder. They're not just there
- 14:24Speaker 3: for the patient. No, they're there for the family members.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Very true, Yeah, very very true. And they're always there
- 14:31Speaker 3: at the right time. Same thing happened at Adventist Shady Grove.
- 14:35Speaker 3: This is a little thing, but it was very very
- 14:37Speaker 3: important to me in the long run. There was one
- 14:39Speaker 3: nurse who in the middle of the night made it
- 14:41Speaker 3: a point to make sure that I had apple juice
- 14:44Speaker 3: because that was your favorite.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Because that was my favorite and for whatever reason, that
- 14:48Speaker 2: apple juice just hits different Shady Grove. I don't know
- 14:52Speaker 2: what it is, maybe in any hospital, but it really
- 14:55Speaker 2: meant a lot. You know that these nurses went out
- 14:57Speaker 2: of their way to do things that they didn't have
- 15:00Speaker 2: have to do, but they chose to do so.
- 15:03Speaker 4: And that's just what nurses do.
- 15:04Speaker 2: When they say they make a difference, nurses make a difference,
- 15:07Speaker 2: they really really do. So nurses, thank you for everything
- 15:11Speaker 2: that you do for so many people who at times
- 15:14Speaker 2: may not always say thank you.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Well.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the Morning, it's ninety seven point
- 15:17Speaker 2: one wash FM. Stay right there because coming up next.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Guitar Center surveyed some stores nationwide and they wanted to
- 15:24Speaker 3: find out the most popular riffs that customers attempt to play.
- 15:29Speaker 4: All right, so guitar riffs, Yes, right here we go, and.
- 15:33Speaker 3: We're going to share the top three.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Coming up next, Toby and Chilly in the Morning on
- 15:37Speaker 2: ninety seven point one WASHFM. I've been looking forward to
- 15:39Speaker 2: this all morning because over at Guitar Center, which happens
- 15:43Speaker 2: to have a location across the street from our radio station,
- 15:46Speaker 2: they have been keeping track of the guitar riffs that
- 15:49Speaker 2: you have played in store while trying out new instruments.
- 15:53Speaker 3: Especially the guitar. That's right, I mean, that's what they're
- 15:56Speaker 3: there for, and they asked and surveyed all their different
- 16:00Speaker 3: stores nationwide, and not surprisingly, most of the songs lean
- 16:03Speaker 3: towards harder rock. Now. Coming in second place was this
- 16:07Speaker 3: one from Guns n' Roses, with.
- 16:12Speaker 2: A signature riff provided by one Slash guns n' Roses.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Sweet Child of Mine.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Oh Yeah, instantly recognizable.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Instantly number two on the list. Song number one, though,
- 16:24Speaker 2: makes me scratch my head a bit. But who am
- 16:27Speaker 2: I to question the list that Guitar Center kept. Yeah,
- 16:32Speaker 2: I bet you don't know that song and who performed it?
- 16:35Speaker 3: I do because it's in front of me Metallica, Master
- 16:38Speaker 3: of Puppets.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Oh well, ding ding ding ding ding ding ding Phone
- 16:41Speaker 4: a friend.
- 16:42Speaker 3: I will say, I'm impressed with anybody that can roll
- 16:44Speaker 3: up into a Guitar Center and play any of those riffs.
- 16:47Speaker 2: I will tell you, Uh, what would your favorite guitar
- 16:50Speaker 2: rift of all time be?
- 16:52Speaker 3: One that I could actually play? Is mister bo Jangles?
- 16:55Speaker 4: Well this sold chestnutting man Bujangles and dance for you?
- 17:02Speaker 4: Missed bo Jangle?
- 17:05Speaker 3: Right? Why shimmer Down?
- 17:07Speaker 4: I got one? I bet you do?
- 17:08Speaker 3: What would yours be?
- 17:12Speaker 4: Recognize that one?
- 17:14Speaker 7: Beat it? Baby?
- 17:15Speaker 2: Michael Jackson, who called in Eddie van Halen one of
- 17:18Speaker 2: the greatest guitar Virtuosos of all time.
- 17:22Speaker 3: He should be in the top three. He's an incredible guitarist.
- 17:25Speaker 2: He has so many riffs, but that's such a hard
- 17:29Speaker 2: riff to play.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Oh yeah in a store, this is true. That's probably
- 17:32Speaker 3: why it's not in there.
- 17:34Speaker 2: People will be looking at you like, wait a minute, Wow,
- 17:36Speaker 2: what happened over here?
- 17:38Speaker 3: Who's this guy?
- 17:39Speaker 4: You want to see the list?
