Canucks Trade Pettersson for Future Picks | Vancouver Canucks News
Vancouver Canucks make a savvy move, sending veteran defenceman Marcus Pettersson to the New York Rangers for a conditional 2030 first-round pick — boosting their draft capital to eight total. Pettersson, a seasoned locker-room leader with over 600 games under his belt, leaves a void, but GM Ryan Johnson praised his contributions. This trade signals a clear future-focused strategy for the Canucks, with eyes on building through the draft — though the conditions on the pick remain to be seen.
