- 1:06Speaker 4: gambling habits, We talk about NFL. Part of my take
- 1:09Speaker 4: the inception of that, the whole process of how it
- 1:11Speaker 4: is to go about and making a podcast the way
- 1:13Speaker 4: they have since they've really been owning the top number
- 1:15Speaker 4: one charts for the last five or six years or forever.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Long they've been doing it since. Obviously New Heights has
- 1:21Speaker 4: definitely taken over with Taylor Swift. But we have a
- 1:23Speaker 4: great show for you today. It's gonna be an outstanding Uh.

- 1:33Speaker 3: Now let's get into this episode.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Yes, I think we started episode what sixty two? Episode
- 1:42Speaker 4: two sixty two?
- 1:43Speaker 3: It is Monday, Super Bowl Week where with Big Cat
- 1:46Speaker 3: let's get around.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Well, the only long as you.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Think cats been on is when it's just been with me.
- 1:52Speaker 1: Now, it's the I came, I came on the bus
- 1:55Speaker 1: and tennessee, when you guys tried to smoke me out.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Who's that with you? Brandon Bon That's right.
- 2:03Speaker 2: That was a smart move.
- 2:04Speaker 1: That was like a Guantanamo move. You guys are like,
- 2:06Speaker 1: let's do an interview and make it one hundred.
- 2:08Speaker 3: And ten degrees.
- 2:09Speaker 5: Was outside the bus and we didn't I have all
- 2:12Speaker 5: the they like turn it off, so we're like sweating
- 2:15Speaker 5: throughout the entire podcast.
- 2:17Speaker 1: You're telling to shut the fuck up upstairs, respect, respect
- 2:21Speaker 1: the boys to respect the boys.
- 2:23Speaker 4: We were talking before the show about the super Bowl, Yes,
- 2:26Speaker 4: and how you're in a bit of a jilemma right now.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Yes, you want to talk that dilemma a little bit,
- 2:30Speaker 1: you can talk through it a little bit. I so
- 2:33Speaker 1: Patrick Holmes owns me. Patrick Holmes is my daddy.
- 2:36Speaker 3: I'm not.
- 2:37Speaker 1: It's crazy because I'm not. I don't root for an
- 2:39Speaker 1: AFC team, but somehow I've ended up just getting owned
- 2:41Speaker 1: by this guy. He's so fucking good. I've had four
- 2:44Speaker 1: futures in the last thirteen months, all great value that
- 2:47Speaker 1: all have lost to Patrick Mahomes Bengals Eagles in twenty
- 2:51Speaker 1: twenty two, Ravens Bills in twenty twenty three. So I
- 2:54Speaker 1: never embedded directly against Patrick Mahomes. I'm just putting in
- 2:57Speaker 1: these bets in like August and then they end up
- 3:00Speaker 1: Homes Skills. So after the game, I was like Patrickholmes,
- 3:03Speaker 1: no matter what, like game of the Year, Patrick Holmes.
- 3:06Speaker 1: And now I'm just starting to think, and it's like,
- 3:08Speaker 1: I'm is pretty good.
- 3:10Speaker 3: I don't know, They're falling.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Back in the trap.
- 3:13Speaker 3: All back in the trap? Are you right now? Currently?
- 3:15Speaker 3: Are you leaning?
- 3:17Speaker 1: Not only I'm leaning Niners, but I think I need
- 3:19Speaker 1: to just suck it up and be like, fuck it,
- 3:21Speaker 1: I'm taking Patrick Maholmes because at the end of the day,
- 3:24Speaker 1: and you guys, you know, I know Will gambled out
- 3:27Speaker 1: throughout his entire career, you didn't at the end of
- 3:30Speaker 1: the day. There's something with gambling where you have to
- 3:33Speaker 1: make a decision. There's there's a win and a loss,
- 3:35Speaker 1: but there's an extra element to it sometimes when it's
- 3:38Speaker 1: like Patrick Holmes and Tom Brady and Nick Saving and
- 3:41Speaker 1: Bill Belichick some of these guys right where it's it's
- 3:44Speaker 1: not just winning loss, it's winning loss, and if you
- 3:47Speaker 1: lose going against them, you feel like the biggest ad
- 3:49Speaker 1: at of all time. And everyone says, how did you
- 3:51Speaker 1: bet against Patrick Mahomes? And that's way worse.
- 3:53Speaker 3: I see your brain break.
- 3:55Speaker 2: That's way worse.
- 3:56Speaker 1: It feels so much worse when someone can just tweet
- 3:58Speaker 1: you and be like, dude, you would against me?
- 4:00Speaker 2: Stamen, Fuck yeah, I.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Did, an idiot dismantling. Yeah, yes, truly.
- 4:07Speaker 1: It has ruined the entire sec Yeah shams. And by
- 4:11Speaker 1: the way, shout out Billy basketball over here. I don't
- 4:14Speaker 1: know if you know if he's a hoop head. Now, oh, yeah,
- 4:16Speaker 1: what happened. Yeah, because it was very funny.
- 4:21Speaker 5: So big Cat Nebraska just be Wisconsin, Nebraska, Wisconsin, that's what.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, Nebraska beat Wisconsin.
- 4:29Speaker 5: I didn't even know that that game was taking place,
- 4:32Speaker 5: and somebody in my mentions was like, hey, I think
- 4:34Speaker 5: I tweeted something. Somebody's like, hey, Nebraska, Wisconsin and ot
- 4:37Speaker 5: and anytime, it's like Nebraska is constant.
- 4:39Speaker 3: We just think of each other. Yeah, I'm thinking of
- 4:40Speaker 3: Big Cat.
- 4:41Speaker 5: So I turned it on and just catch the overtime
- 4:43Speaker 5: portion of the game. And I don't watch any college basketball.
- 4:46Speaker 5: We were watching it last night and it was the
- 4:48Speaker 5: third game I've ever watched the Nebraska They almost beat
- 4:50Speaker 5: Illinois and uh, Nebraska pulls it off in ot wisconsole
- 4:55Speaker 5: was up apparently nineteen.
- 4:57Speaker 3: It's some point, think seventeen or nine. So I just maccount.
- 5:00Speaker 3: I'm like, hey, I'm sorry about Wisconsin, and like he's like,
- 5:04Speaker 3: you know.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I hear a lot, a lot I had actually previously,
- 5:08Speaker 1: I think like maybe a few days before, like with
- 5:10Speaker 1: all my teams, I'm pretty I'm pretty like as crazy
- 5:16Speaker 1: as I can get. I'm pretty unbiased in the fact that,
- 5:19Speaker 1: like I know the limitations of my teams like, I know,
- 5:21Speaker 1: I'm not supposed to have happiness, but there are certain
- 5:23Speaker 1: teams that they reach a point where I'm like, all right,
- 5:25Speaker 1: I'm ready to get like emotionally hurt.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Like I think they're good, I'm gonna get hurt. That's okay.
- 5:31Speaker 1: So I reached that point with Wisconsin. I was like,
- 5:33Speaker 1: I think they're really good. I'm ready to get emotionally hurt.
- 5:35Speaker 1: So he starts texting me like a good game, blah
- 5:38Speaker 1: blah blah. I'm like, this fucking guy, no way he
- 5:41Speaker 1: watches any of these games. So and then after that
- 5:44Speaker 1: he sucks ship. Then he text me he goes, how
- 5:47Speaker 1: do you get into the tournament? Like it's like you
- 5:54Speaker 1: gotta wait for like a wedding invite. He said, how
- 5:55Speaker 1: do you get into the tournament? I said.
- 6:00Speaker 3: I I don't know either. Oh, I said, help me
- 6:02Speaker 3: out here. Is that a big right? You have to
- 6:03Speaker 3: win a certain amount of games? Yeah? I say, okay,
- 6:05Speaker 3: you're in the game.
- 6:06Speaker 2: With that question.
- 6:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:07Speaker 1: He asked me that question after talking about his team
- 6:10Speaker 1: beating my team. I was like, I wanted to punch
- 6:12Speaker 1: a wall.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I was so mad.
- 6:13Speaker 5: I said, help me understand how you get in the
- 6:15Speaker 5: Tony does does the bask have a shot here since
- 6:20Speaker 5: they've upset a couple of top.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Ten understand they win, they win that one game, they're
- 6:25Speaker 3: gonna make it. Yeah, because I.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Saw like you were asking, like, is it like the
- 6:28Speaker 1: pope when they do the smoke stats? Like is that
- 6:30Speaker 1: how you get in the tournament? Like do you just
- 6:32Speaker 1: do you stumble upon an invite on the ground? Like
- 6:34Speaker 1: is it like Willie Walker? Do you find the Golden ticket?
- 6:36Speaker 1: How do you get in the tournament?
- 6:37Speaker 3: Well, I'm wondering last night question when they're playing.
- 6:40Speaker 5: Illinois last night and they're unranked, I'm thinking, why can't
- 6:42Speaker 5: they be ranked if they're taking Illinois? Oh team, they're
- 6:44Speaker 5: ranked fourteen. They beat Perdue, who's number two. They beat Wisconsin,
- 6:49Speaker 5: who's still number six.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Well was on Monday, so we were six this last week.
- 6:55Speaker 1: We won't be six on today. Someone probably has the
- 6:58Speaker 1: rankings right now. So football, how you like? If you well,
- 7:02Speaker 1: football is one game. It's I know, but I feel
- 7:04Speaker 1: like every team loses in there, like number one. You're like,
- 7:06Speaker 1: how are they still number one at the end.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Of the game.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Yeah, team gets upset.
- 7:13Speaker 5: If the one team gets upset on Tuesday and They're
- 7:15Speaker 5: still playing Friday as a number one team.
- 7:16Speaker 3: It's kind of like, why they still.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Rum week's week? How do you get into the tournament?
- 7:22Speaker 1: Like after that loss and I said, I was emotionally
- 7:25Speaker 1: going to get hurt and I even knew we were, Like,
- 7:27Speaker 1: I said, this is how sick it is. In the
- 7:30Speaker 1: morning of the game, I was like, the brass is
- 7:32Speaker 1: a really tough place to play. I kind of expect
- 7:35Speaker 1: the Badgers to lose, and then they went up seventeen.
- 7:37Speaker 5: I was like, that's how you do a great job
- 7:40Speaker 5: with your insurance policies though, because I had saw that.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I because you guys are like fourteen and one at
- 7:46Speaker 2: home or something.
- 7:47Speaker 4: So boys whatever, this episode to bring you a sponsor,

- 8:28Speaker 3: Let's get back to this episode.
- 8:29Speaker 4: No, you're talking about it, but you brought up a
- 8:30Speaker 4: good point about being like having reasonable expectations for your team.
- 8:34Speaker 3: JP and I got an argument on.
- 8:35Speaker 2: The bus because you sound crazy.
- 8:37Speaker 3: No, because listen, it's different.
- 8:40Speaker 2: It's fucking different different.
- 8:43Speaker 3: I'm not trying to it's hard.
- 8:48Speaker 2: You don't know hard. It's not you making it to
- 8:51Speaker 2: the costal wall.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Playoff is hard. Yes, you don't know what it's like.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Only twelve. I know it's like being two and thirteen
- 9:00Speaker 3: or two and fifteen. I know if i'd be three
- 9:02Speaker 3: and thirteen, I know with the Tennessee Titans and we're
- 9:06Speaker 3: not talking about the Titana, I know what that would be.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Nine the thirteen with Michigan and suck and.
- 9:11Speaker 4: All the old players come back and be like, you
- 9:13Speaker 4: guys fucking suck about This is my first year being
- 9:16Speaker 4: a fan of sports, and so my thought is is
- 9:21Speaker 4: knowing the expectation of Michigan this year, it's truly national
- 9:25Speaker 4: championship or bust. So the stress level is much higher
- 9:28Speaker 4: than if you're able to look at what we'll just
- 9:30Speaker 4: use Wisconsin. We know Wisconsin didn't have the talent level
- 9:33Speaker 4: to win a national championship, so the losses don't hurt
- 9:35Speaker 4: as much as opposed to when Michigan goes to plays
- 9:38Speaker 4: the Penn States, the Holos States, the Alabama's Yes.
- 9:40Speaker 5: And Taylor said it was harder to be a fan
- 9:43Speaker 5: of Michigan than it was to be a bar teams.
- 9:45Speaker 4: It's harder to be a fan, and I disagree.
- 9:48Speaker 3: It's harder to be a fan this year. Hold on,
- 9:50Speaker 3: let me.
- 9:51Speaker 4: It's harder to be a fan of a team that
- 9:53Speaker 4: you can look at and say, this team can and
- 9:56Speaker 4: should win the national championship as opposed to a team
- 9:58Speaker 4: where you're hoping to have a winning record. Now hit
- 10:01Speaker 4: more context, Taylor's first year being a true fan saying
- 10:05Speaker 4: something like that, You're just thinking, what are you talking about?
- 10:08Speaker 2: So I think, but.
- 10:09Speaker 4: I think me being a first year being a fan, well,
- 10:11Speaker 4: I guess it's a little.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Bit This year specifically, that argument is fair because of
- 10:18Speaker 1: what happened with Michigan. You knew Jim Harboro was gonna leave,
- 10:21Speaker 1: You knew all the like, all the cheating allegations, all
- 10:24Speaker 1: this stuff.
- 10:25Speaker 2: So I think just in this year.
- 10:27Speaker 1: But if you ask, like, what's it easier, Like is
- 10:29Speaker 1: it harder to be an Alabama fan or like a
- 10:30Speaker 1: Wisconsin Nebraska fan?
- 10:32Speaker 2: Like I'll take being an Alabama.
- 10:34Speaker 3: Fan all day they win t right, but knowing that,
- 10:38Speaker 3: I'll give you yes.
- 10:39Speaker 4: But if you have a team and you're like, okay,
- 10:40Speaker 4: we could probably win the baked In Championship this year.
- 10:43Speaker 4: Week two, you play a non conference game that's hard,
- 10:45Speaker 4: and you lose that game, you think, okay, like now
- 10:48Speaker 4: I can now take these next two weeks or playing
- 10:51Speaker 4: some schlubs, some bowling greens and temper my expectations, know
- 10:54Speaker 4: that it might not be the year I expect. So
- 10:56Speaker 4: you get to kind of do a roller coaster as
- 10:57Speaker 4: opposed to a big tick.
- 10:59Speaker 1: I don't I don't really disagree because it is like
- 11:01Speaker 1: in sports, it's about windows. Like if you have a
- 11:04Speaker 1: window and you squander that window, it's the most devastating.
- 11:08Speaker 5: But if you're such a fan of your squad, there's
- 11:11Speaker 5: a there's that reasonable expectation that is like Michigan in
- 11:15Speaker 5: the National Title, which is like you know, Nebraska.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Getting ball eligible or are you having your own expectation
- 11:20Speaker 3: in Wisconsin, like we shouldn't be losing these games.
- 11:23Speaker 1: They still hurt when there is like the window argument,
- 11:26Speaker 1: Like I know, like Hank used to make this argument
- 11:29Speaker 1: and I thought it was kind of bullshit, but I
- 11:31Speaker 1: sort of understand it applies to the Chiefs now. We're like,
- 11:34Speaker 1: if you have the guy, you only have a certain
- 11:37Speaker 1: amount of years to have that guy. Like the Bills
- 11:40Speaker 1: right now, that's just Josh Allen has been playing great
- 11:42Speaker 1: football for his career and he's and they haven't been
- 11:45Speaker 1: to a super Bowl. Like that's way worse than kind
- 11:48Speaker 1: of being in that lower pack where you're like, we're
- 11:50Speaker 1: trying to figure it out. We hasn't fully open or
- 11:53Speaker 1: like a Bengals fan, Like Bengals fan, you go to
- 11:56Speaker 1: the Super Bowl, the next year, you lose in the
- 11:58Speaker 1: AFC Championship. The next year, Joe Burrow gets hurt and
- 12:00Speaker 1: you're like, wait, that was two years of our window
- 12:03Speaker 1: that just went like that. That that hurts.
- 12:05Speaker 4: That stints as opposed to looking at your team and
- 12:07Speaker 4: being like, Okay, this is gouild for a year or two, and.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Then once we move for a year two and now
- 12:12Speaker 3: we can look look forward towards the window.
- 12:14Speaker 4: So now those losses are more body shots than KOs.
- 12:17Speaker 1: For example, would be like the twenty sixteen Cubs winning
- 12:20Speaker 1: the World Series. Like they won the World Series, that
- 12:22Speaker 1: was the greatest thing ever. Everyone everyone was like, just
- 12:25Speaker 1: win one. But that team was so young and that
- 12:28Speaker 1: nucleus was so good that they then not like going
- 12:32Speaker 1: back to a World Series definitely hurt where it was
- 12:34Speaker 1: just like what how did this? And then like four
- 12:36Speaker 1: years later it was all blown up. You know, you're like,
- 12:39Speaker 1: what the fuck just happened? Like I know it's crazy
- 12:41Speaker 1: because like one is enough, But when you do have
- 12:44Speaker 1: like what you think is a really good team in
- 12:46Speaker 1: a stretch of a five year like Spam, and you
- 12:49Speaker 1: only go to one World Series and.
- 12:51Speaker 3: You're like, what's just happened?
- 12:53Speaker 2: Like I thought I thought it was gonna be every year.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I love that it went my way and just for
- 12:58Speaker 3: this year though.
- 12:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean just this year.
- 12:59Speaker 4: But guys, but if we look at Michigan now, they
- 13:02Speaker 4: lost their head strength coach, which is like the goat.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Obviously, the goat strength coaches is the dude, Kirby Scott,
- 13:10Speaker 1: whatever his name is, he's the best. He literally won
- 13:14Speaker 1: every he was Alabama's strength coach, left Alabama and then
- 13:19Speaker 1: won back to back with Georgia. You talk about it,
- 13:21Speaker 1: Concord Scott Cochran, he might be the best coach. I
- 13:25Speaker 1: actually have the theory that he is. He is the
- 13:27Speaker 1: actual goat, because you guys can tell me if I'm
- 13:29Speaker 1: way wrong. I think there's no more important coach in
- 13:33Speaker 1: all of college football in the strengthen conditioning coach because
- 13:35Speaker 1: they get their hands on the players.
- 13:37Speaker 3: All year long.
- 13:37Speaker 1: No, it's a very fair and he won in Alabama
- 13:41Speaker 1: and then he's like, all, I'm going to Georgia.
- 13:42Speaker 4: We went to But by that logic, he would say
- 13:45Speaker 4: that the head coach is the least important coach.
- 13:47Speaker 2: No, I think the head coach sets the tone. So
- 13:49Speaker 2: I think there's definitely.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Sense the culture.
- 13:51Speaker 4: But the guys, but if you're talking about hands on
- 13:53Speaker 4: strength coaches number one, and that would be your position coach,
- 13:56Speaker 4: then it would.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Be underrated coach that should probably be the best. Say
- 14:00Speaker 2: I like, people don't see it.
- 14:01Speaker 1: People don't know the strength and conditioning coach, that strength
- 14:04Speaker 1: and conditioning coach, Like, especially in college football, you get
- 14:07Speaker 1: dudes that show up and they're like twounds.
- 14:11Speaker 3: League.
- 14:11Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, And now I do need to I
- 14:14Speaker 5: do need to get some words in before we get
- 14:15Speaker 5: away from that.
- 14:16Speaker 3: I know, I'm excited to stay in it because I
- 14:18Speaker 3: do want to. Yeah, talk about you.
- 14:20Speaker 5: I get I understand all those points. I think they
- 14:22Speaker 5: are very fair. I feel like the hardest.
- 14:24Speaker 2: One part Will says he understands points a lot of times.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Okay, relax, relax.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I'm just gonna say.
- 14:31Speaker 3: That, time out, time out.
- 14:34Speaker 5: So I feel like, what's the most the most painful
- 14:37Speaker 5: thing about Taylor saying that is knowing that he didn't
- 14:41Speaker 5: necessarily mess with Michigan.
- 14:42Speaker 3: A whole lot until this.
- 14:44Speaker 5: I'll give them even last year too, But Michigan's went
- 14:46Speaker 5: to the playoff two years in a row, and now
- 14:48Speaker 5: they have the star studded like this is the year.
- 14:51Speaker 3: And then they go out throughout the entire year, they
- 14:53Speaker 3: prove a lot of people wrong, and they do their thing.
- 14:55Speaker 5: They win the national title, and he has the audacity
- 14:58Speaker 5: afterwards to look at guys experience loss and just hate
- 15:02Speaker 5: when their teams can't pull it out and just say
- 15:04Speaker 5: I think it's harder to be a.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Michigan fan than the other fans.
- 15:06Speaker 2: But he just came in.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I don't put grudge him for just coming in, because
- 15:10Speaker 1: if you're if you're playing, you're probably not. It's like
- 15:13Speaker 1: I don't really listen to a bunch of podcasts, like
- 15:15Speaker 1: I know how the sausages made.
- 15:17Speaker 3: Are you loving sex every day? Probably not. I'm saying
- 15:21Speaker 3: I love your takes. I love this way.
- 15:26Speaker 2: You get here early. I'm like you, guys, I've been
- 15:28Speaker 2: here at eight o'clock.
- 15:29Speaker 3: There's an accident. There's an accident on the highway. Hang on,
- 15:32Speaker 3: hang on, hang on.
- 15:33Speaker 5: I got to go back to that I've been I've
- 15:35Speaker 5: always pulled for Nebraska hard, even when I was playing.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Now, but hold on the reason.
- 15:39Speaker 4: But you know the context of which why I kind
- 15:41Speaker 4: of dipped on Michigan and then slowly.
- 15:43Speaker 3: But surely came back.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I was gonna say something mean.
- 15:45Speaker 3: Go ahead and say it. Taylor was playing. Oh, I
- 15:51Speaker 3: was shot towards me.
- 15:53Speaker 5: There's a lot of I'm smiling right now, but it's that.
- 15:57Speaker 1: I don't Will Compton three interceptions, go look it up.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Than ten years in the pros.
- 16:03Speaker 3: And a couple of years I was run it. That
- 16:06Speaker 3: was d it up for me. I don't mean it,
- 16:10Speaker 3: but I had to say it because it came in
- 16:11Speaker 3: my head. You mean it a little bit.
- 16:12Speaker 2: No, I did not mean it all.
- 16:13Speaker 3: If I went through your head, there's some true things.
- 16:14Speaker 3: I did not mean it at all. I did not
- 16:16Speaker 3: mean it all all.
- 16:19Speaker 4: Walk room God, locker room God number one, number one
- 16:22Speaker 4: locker room.
- 16:23Speaker 1: I mean that he does that for us, and when
- 16:25Speaker 1: he comes every you know week during the football season,
- 16:28Speaker 1: it's Chicago Q he's a locker room and he've been
- 16:30Speaker 1: punked when he comes in.
- 16:31Speaker 3: If you look at a.
- 16:32Speaker 5: Fact, I'm just envisioned the saying that I'm just I'm
- 16:35Speaker 5: just saying there smiling, just staring at him and just zooming.
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I listen. That was a mean thing to say,
- 16:41Speaker 2: But I preface.
- 16:43Speaker 6: Saying, yeah, how do you think my emotion when you
- 16:46Speaker 6: look at the fandom though, like you've done a good
- 16:48Speaker 6: job of being a fan of the Bears and like
- 16:50Speaker 6: getting obviously going to the roller coach, Yeah, being will confident
- 16:53Speaker 6: and his undying loyalty in the basket and said something
- 16:55Speaker 6: you respect or the thing.
- 16:56Speaker 1: I respect the hell out of it because it's like
- 16:58Speaker 1: it's like it's the it's the what's the what's the saying?
- 17:02Speaker 1: Like the definition of insanity is doing the same thing
- 17:05Speaker 1: over and over expecting different results. Yeah, right, Like I
- 17:08Speaker 1: respect Will's Will rides and dies with them, and like
- 17:11Speaker 1: there's something about when Will gets talking about Nebraska, like
- 17:15Speaker 1: he does kind of sway me where he's like, yeah,
- 17:18Speaker 1: if you just turn off like interceptions and injuries, like
- 17:21Speaker 1: this is good, you know what, right if you do
- 17:24Speaker 1: do that?
- 17:26Speaker 3: He does? He will, I mean, Will's a master motivating,
- 17:30Speaker 3: Like he doesn't go anyway.
- 17:31Speaker 5: I appreciate you for trying to let me back up,
- 17:36Speaker 5: I said it was me. Yeah, should we pivot to
- 17:40Speaker 5: a part of my take? You guys have had I
- 17:44Speaker 5: am quins in.
- 17:45Speaker 4: But just like when you go through a breakup, you're
- 17:47Speaker 4: gonna call our a couple of so right now, I'm
- 17:49Speaker 4: like trying our room today, tomong.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Lucy, Okay, how do you keep the same level of
- 17:56Speaker 5: enthusiastic hold on?
- 17:59Speaker 3: I was trying to that the whole time. No, no, still
- 18:02Speaker 3: keep it, still keep it.
- 18:04Speaker 5: How do you keep the same level of enthusiasm for
- 18:07Speaker 5: your podcast?
- 18:08Speaker 3: That's been number one for I don't know how many
- 18:10Speaker 3: years running.
- 18:10Speaker 5: Let's say last three, right, I mean, Travis, but that's
- 18:13Speaker 5: a that's an as, that's that's but in the the
- 18:20Speaker 5: one episode a week and like swift, everyone's swift bullshit
- 18:24Speaker 5: and uh, but the real podcasters of the of the
- 18:27Speaker 5: of the world so much you guys being on top
- 18:30Speaker 5: for as long as you guys have, how do you
- 18:32Speaker 5: keep that same level of enthusiasm throughout the entire year?
- 18:34Speaker 3: Like you guys drop three pods a week.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Even when Taylor and I flirt with the idea of too,
- 18:38Speaker 5: we click, we quickly remember just the monotony of doing
- 18:42Speaker 5: too and being like, bro, think thinking how much we
- 18:45Speaker 5: have to just come back in and like try to
- 18:47Speaker 5: come up with just more bullshit, and you guys deliver
- 18:50Speaker 5: three times, three days a week.
- 18:51Speaker 2: That's smart of you guys, because we had to say,
- 18:53Speaker 2: like when we started part of.
- 18:54Speaker 1: My take, people are like five days a week, five
- 18:56Speaker 1: days a week, And we flirted with like a Saturday
- 18:58Speaker 1: episode and like wait, hold on, like you got to
- 19:00Speaker 1: know your own limits, like of is it gonna be
- 19:03Speaker 1: diminishing returns?
- 19:04Speaker 2: So you guys are smart from that, I would say,
- 19:07Speaker 2: I mean number one.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Is like it's just fun to talk about sports, like
- 19:11Speaker 1: and we've always from the beginning been like sports supposed
- 19:14Speaker 1: to be fun.
- 19:14Speaker 2: We're supposed to entertain people, make people laugh, talk about.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Sports, like, don't get too serious, never think that you're
- 19:20Speaker 1: bigger than Like I'm pretty honest with who I am,
- 19:23Speaker 1: Like I'm not a very smart guy. I think I
- 19:25Speaker 1: can be somewhat entertaining on the mic, but like at
- 19:27Speaker 1: the end of the day, like I don't think I
- 19:29Speaker 1: have some special skill that has people being like, oh,
- 19:33Speaker 1: I gotta listen to him. It's just the consistency and
- 19:36Speaker 1: more than anything, it's the changing sports calendar that's the
- 19:40Speaker 1: big thing. Like when we get to the other football season,
- 19:43Speaker 1: I'm ready for football season to be over, you know
- 19:44Speaker 1: what I mean. And then I love college basketball and
- 19:47Speaker 1: I love talking about NBA and like that stuff. So
- 19:49Speaker 1: that's really kind of like what drives it all is
- 19:52Speaker 1: like loving all sports.
- 19:53Speaker 5: But you gotta be on, Like I think you do
- 19:55Speaker 5: have a skill because you still have to be on,
- 19:58Speaker 5: like you have to be in it, like there are
- 19:59Speaker 5: no you can't just be lazy one week like you
- 20:02Speaker 5: guys will go and recurt after Sunday night football, like
- 20:05Speaker 5: you know at midnight. Yeah, and you got to be
- 20:06Speaker 5: like on your shit because people smoke out, like if
- 20:09Speaker 5: you're just bullshitting.
- 20:09Speaker 4: And that's with a family as well. Yeah, that's with
- 20:11Speaker 4: all the streaming and everything. And you walk into the
- 20:13Speaker 4: building every single guy where maybe not everybody else in
- 20:16Speaker 4: the building is having the same amount of workload as you,
- 20:19Speaker 4: but you complain anymore and all that and you have
- 20:20Speaker 4: to sit through the bullshit. Now you're a boss here too, Yeah,
- 20:23Speaker 4: becomes you have a lot of your plate.
- 20:25Speaker 1: It is a lot on plate. But I think it
- 20:27Speaker 1: actually like it's a little thing. It happens actually every Sunday,
- 20:30Speaker 1: which I don't know when this will switch when my
- 20:32Speaker 1: kids get a little older and they're like, wait, your
- 20:35Speaker 1: job is like really dumb. But when I leave to
- 20:38Speaker 1: go to watch football, they're like all right, I'm like
- 20:40Speaker 1: I'm going to work.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Like you know, when you get a hundred kids like
- 20:43Speaker 2: you go and watch TV.
- 20:43Speaker 3: I'm like, yep, that's what that's working.
- 20:46Speaker 1: So it's like having that mindset of like, yeah, there's
- 20:48Speaker 1: long nights, but fuck, it's the best job in the world.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Like you can't I couldn't dream of a better job,
- 20:53Speaker 1: you know what. I mean, like I get to watch
- 20:55Speaker 1: sports for a living, talk about sports as.
- 20:57Speaker 4: A joke, and he talks about like you say, have
- 21:00Speaker 4: the best job in the world. But when you got
- 21:01Speaker 4: to barstool.
- 21:02Speaker 3: Like did you see it turning into what it is now? No?
- 21:05Speaker 3: Obviously not no, well, like.
- 21:07Speaker 2: There was a little bit of org yeaheah, there was
- 21:09Speaker 2: definitely some time.
- 21:10Speaker 1: So like when we first started it was just a
- 21:12Speaker 1: blog and there was there was definitely moments.
- 21:16Speaker 3: And how many guys, how many guys are doing the.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Ball seven or eight of us?
- 21:20Speaker 1: So it was like Dave gaz hank Lewis in Boston,
- 21:25Speaker 1: Kevin and Kmarko in New York. Philly was Moe and
- 21:29Speaker 1: Smitty me Nate and d C, Trent and Iowa. So yeah,
- 21:33Speaker 1: it was like whatever, that's like ten.
- 21:36Speaker 2: And it was.
- 21:37Speaker 3: It was so fun.
- 21:39Speaker 1: But there was also a like a moment where I
- 21:42Speaker 1: think Kevin had the same feeling and that's why he
- 21:44Speaker 1: started podcasting, which was genius by him of like there
- 21:48Speaker 1: ask me more. We have to evolve because like I
- 21:51Speaker 1: can't be forty years old. I'm not forty yet. Ankstrattelun'
- 21:55Speaker 1: forty Uh, you can't be forty years old? Sitting in
- 21:58Speaker 1: your underwear like blocking every day, you know what I mean,
- 22:00Speaker 1: Like you have to find more. So the good the
- 22:03Speaker 1: good thing that happened with Barstool was like every time
- 22:06Speaker 1: it felt like I was not looking for something else
- 22:10Speaker 1: but like feeling like that itch of like what's more,
- 22:13Speaker 1: it kind of happened naturally, Like right when Chernin bought
- 22:16Speaker 1: us in twenty fifteen twenty sixteen, was right when I
- 22:19Speaker 1: was like getting to the point where I was like,
- 22:21Speaker 1: what's the next thing? Like what are we going to
- 22:23Speaker 1: do next? And then it, you know, moved to New
- 22:25Speaker 1: York and all that stuff, and we blew it up.
- 22:27Speaker 1: So it's like it's been good that every time I
- 22:30Speaker 1: felt that itch, there's been an answer internally, you know.
- 22:33Speaker 1: And even like the Chicago office now, like that has
- 22:36Speaker 1: been Like I could have Pete and I could have
- 22:40Speaker 1: stayed in New York and just kept on doing the
- 22:42Speaker 1: part of my take every day or every three days
- 22:45Speaker 1: for the rest of the time and probably made a
- 22:47Speaker 1: really good living.
- 22:48Speaker 2: But it's like I want to do I want something different,
- 22:50Speaker 2: you know what I.
- 22:50Speaker 1: Mean, Like I want space, I want to be able to.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Try new things.
- 22:54Speaker 1: So like always trying to like think of what's next
- 22:57Speaker 1: and like evolving and not being happened with like what
- 22:59Speaker 1: you're doing right there?
- 23:00Speaker 3: How'd you come across Barstool? Like where you just it was?
- 23:02Speaker 1: It was on There's a website called covers dot com
- 23:07Speaker 1: that used to have message boards for all of like
- 23:11Speaker 1: the sports, and it was just gamblers and so like
- 23:14Speaker 1: I've I've been gambling my whole life and I used
- 23:17Speaker 1: to like the dumb gambler brain thing is like you
- 23:19Speaker 1: go the go, there's a game tonight, I want to
- 23:21Speaker 1: bet the over. Let me go on covers and I'll
- 23:24Speaker 1: just pretty much find someone who's like, oh I like
- 23:25Speaker 1: the over.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Here's why.
- 23:26Speaker 3: It's like, oh see, I.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Knew I was yeah, and Dave had Dave wrote like
- 23:32Speaker 1: articles on there, like guest articles being like mortal locks
- 23:36Speaker 1: and stuff, and I was like, well, if he's saying
- 23:38Speaker 1: more a lock like it has.
- 23:40Speaker 3: To be it wasn't.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Yeah, but like and then finding that and just being
- 23:45Speaker 1: like this is is pretty cool and like it's just yeah,
- 23:48Speaker 1: like the the gambling piece people complain about, and I
- 23:52Speaker 1: understand it.
- 23:52Speaker 2: People don't want to hear about our pats.
- 23:54Speaker 1: I get it, but like, at its core, barstool has
- 23:57Speaker 1: always been like gambling, you know what I mean? And Dave,
- 23:59Speaker 1: Like if I had to steal me and Dave's relationship
- 24:02Speaker 1: down to like what's like, what's the foundation of our relationship,
- 24:06Speaker 1: It's like gambling and watching like Danny Boy came clips.
- 24:09Speaker 3: That's it.
- 24:10Speaker 2: Like obviously our relationship is more than that.
- 24:12Speaker 1: But like if say everything fell apart, like I would
- 24:16Speaker 1: still text day being like you got the action tonight,
- 24:18Speaker 1: Like you've betten anything tonight.
- 24:20Speaker 3: You see day Boy came.
- 24:21Speaker 1: To get a press conference about like a three star
- 24:24Speaker 1: recruit they got, Like that would still.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Be there now are you?
- 24:27Speaker 5: Just like did you just like reach out saying like hey,
- 24:29Speaker 5: I love the blog with you guys, Yeah, just like
- 24:32Speaker 5: and cover the stones.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Back in the day, it was just a blog, so
- 24:35Speaker 1: it was just like hey, like you know, here's a sample.
- 24:37Speaker 1: And like I was working in real estate. I hit
- 24:41Speaker 1: that like quarter life crisis where like everyone you guys
- 24:45Speaker 1: obviously didn't have us as you were playing professional football.
- 24:47Speaker 1: It actually might be similar to what happens to guys
- 24:50Speaker 1: when they retire, where they're like, what's what's the rest
- 24:53Speaker 1: of my life going to be? So like I was
- 24:55Speaker 1: working in real estate. I had a nice job, I
- 24:57Speaker 1: had the worst real estate career of all time. I
- 24:59Speaker 1: got into real estate in twenty two thousand and seven,
- 25:03Speaker 1: like six months in the market completely crashed. They fired
- 25:06Speaker 1: everyone in the company pretty much except me, because I
- 25:09Speaker 1: was making thirty thousand dollars a year and they're like, well, he's.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Making nothing and he can, we'll just make him do everything.
- 25:16Speaker 1: So and then I got out in twenty twelve, which
- 25:19Speaker 1: when the market came back. So I literally was the worst,
- 25:21Speaker 1: the worst person in the world in terms of real estate.
- 25:24Speaker 2: But yeah, like you get to that itch.
- 25:25Speaker 1: I think most guys have this where they get to
- 25:28Speaker 1: like his late twenties and they're like, what's what's next.
- 25:31Speaker 2: What's going to be the rest of my life? So
- 25:32Speaker 2: it's like just trying to find that. And I'm lucky.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I mean, I hate when people talk about their success
- 25:39Speaker 1: story and and don't mention the.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Fact that like luck has a lot to do with everything.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Like luck has everything to.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Do with you know what I mean, Like, you guys
- 25:46Speaker 1: have the situation skills to be in the league, but
- 25:48Speaker 1: like there had to have been moments that luck came
- 25:51Speaker 1: into play.
- 25:53Speaker 2: If I didn't get this.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Lucky balance, it would have gone totally different and like
- 25:57Speaker 1: I just hate like some of like the you know,
- 26:00Speaker 1: Instagram influencers or TikTok influencers.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Or like all you got to do is distance.
- 26:04Speaker 3: And is a millionaire. It's like immediate, right, right right.

- 27:02Speaker 4: Back to the episode when you when you reached out
- 27:04Speaker 4: to David first, Like what was your first impression we
- 27:07Speaker 4: were like meeting Dave Portnoy.
- 27:08Speaker 2: He's he.
- 27:09Speaker 1: The thing about Dave is like he he is who
- 27:12Speaker 1: you see. So it wasn't, you know, like I expected
- 27:15Speaker 1: who I saw, but he is who he is. But yeah,
- 27:17Speaker 1: at that point, it was just blocks.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Yeah he was.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Yeah, he was doing some video too, so but like
- 27:23Speaker 1: he Dave has always been the fairest like boss in
- 27:27Speaker 1: the entire world. Like I Dave really does believe in
- 27:31Speaker 1: like if you work hard and you get results, like
- 27:33Speaker 1: I will pay you what you deserve. And like back
- 27:37Speaker 1: in the day we were getting paid, like I was
- 27:39Speaker 1: the first getting paid through PayPal and then.
- 27:41Speaker 2: It was like checks and he would just mail us.
- 27:44Speaker 1: And I just remember like even the first time, like
- 27:48Speaker 1: we got to like December and it was like I
- 27:51Speaker 1: kind of want to raise, Like he called me up
- 27:54Speaker 1: before I called him and was like, hey, I'm gonna
- 27:56Speaker 1: pump youto this, like it was bigger than I thought.
- 27:58Speaker 1: So it's like he always is fair with that. Like
- 28:00Speaker 1: I I don't think I don't think.
- 28:02Speaker 3: I've ever even been close to free agency.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Like every time I sign a deal, we do it
- 28:06Speaker 1: for like two years and then we rip it up
- 28:08Speaker 1: into another one because he's like, you need to get
- 28:10Speaker 1: paid more, Like this is not fair.
- 28:12Speaker 2: So it's like he's he's the fairest there ever is.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Yeah, it's crazy when you're.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Going from real estate to blogging, Like at what moment
- 28:19Speaker 5: were you're seeing like, oh, this the barcel thing could
- 28:21Speaker 5: be like a future piece just.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Outside of riding and having fun all the time, like
- 28:24Speaker 3: we can really do something.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like hmm. It was it was a
- 28:30Speaker 1: slow grind. It was a slow grind, but it was
- 28:32Speaker 1: like it was piece by piece where it's like you
- 28:34Speaker 1: hit a blog that hits like the Blackhawks wing the
- 28:38Speaker 1: Stanley Cup was very big just because like those guys
- 28:40Speaker 1: were so nice to me and like Patrick Sharp, who's
- 28:43Speaker 1: a good friend, like let me literally hang out with
- 28:46Speaker 1: him after like and that was huge. Going around with
- 28:49Speaker 1: the Blackhawks, like with the Stanley Cup in the city
- 28:52Speaker 1: was crazy, and so those like little pieces just keep
- 28:55Speaker 1: piling up and it's like, oh, we're like, do you
- 28:58Speaker 1: think it's like a rocket ship because in the short term,
- 29:02Speaker 1: like Barstool's been you know, especially since twenty sixteen. It
- 29:05Speaker 1: feels like it's been like overnight, But it was just
- 29:08Speaker 1: like a little slow, piece by piece being consistently there
- 29:12Speaker 1: for people, and like every day people would go into work,
- 29:15Speaker 1: don't like their job, go on the blog, read some
- 29:17Speaker 1: funny stuff. We used to do a deal where every
- 29:20Speaker 1: thirty five minutes we had to have a new blog
- 29:22Speaker 1: about so it was like twelve blogs a day, like
- 29:25Speaker 1: literally just I would I would wake up, I take
- 29:27Speaker 1: Stell for a walk, and I'd sit in my computer
- 29:29Speaker 1: and I wouldn't get it. I wouldn't get out of
- 29:31Speaker 1: my chair until like four o'clock. It would just be
- 29:33Speaker 1: every you know, just being on the internet. And I
- 29:35Speaker 1: think that consistency that Dave like instilled in all of
- 29:38Speaker 1: us is a huge part of it. Where people expected
- 29:41Speaker 1: to see barstool every single thirty five minutes like a
- 29:44Speaker 1: new blog, and like that's you know, that's that goes
- 29:47Speaker 1: with podcasting now and like people set their watch to
- 29:50Speaker 1: it where it's like I want to see this and
- 29:53Speaker 1: you're there for them, and that's that's huge. That's that's
- 29:56Speaker 1: the advice I give to everyone who never reaches out
- 29:58Speaker 1: being like oh I want to get into this like
- 30:00Speaker 1: you it's easy to write a blog or do a
- 30:02Speaker 1: podcast for a month. It's it's month two, three, four, five, six,
- 30:07Speaker 1: Like are you still doing it? Are you still have
- 30:08Speaker 1: the same vigor for it? Because a lot of people
- 30:11Speaker 1: can can do something for a month and be like, oh,
- 30:14Speaker 1: this is awesome, where's my break? It's like no, no,
- 30:16Speaker 1: it comes way later when you're consistently doing it for
- 30:19Speaker 1: a long time.
- 30:20Speaker 5: So when churning came in, is that like a moment
- 30:22Speaker 5: where somebody's wanting to come in and invest where you're like,
- 30:26Speaker 5: this will this next piece?
- 30:28Speaker 1: Dave, Kevin and I were definitely it was actually it
- 30:31Speaker 1: was like me and Kevin kind of verse Dave at
- 30:33Speaker 1: that point where it was like getting the tension was
- 30:36Speaker 1: really high because what happened was Dave Barstool started making
- 30:40Speaker 1: money in that twenty thirteen fourteen fifteen range. So Dave
- 30:44Speaker 1: like started making money because it was his baby, he
- 30:46Speaker 1: had been doing it for fifteen years. He bought a house, like,
- 30:49Speaker 1: he started having started taking vacations, and Kevin and I
- 30:52Speaker 1: were sitting there like, well, we're still making whatever we're making.
- 30:55Speaker 1: So it wasn't ever like a boiling point, but it
- 30:57Speaker 1: was definitely, like there's the seeds of re ztment. We're
- 31:00Speaker 1: kind of getting sewed, and it's Davis said this before,
- 31:03Speaker 1: and I think it's a good analogy. It's like a band,
- 31:05Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like every band there's one
- 31:07Speaker 1: lead singer and you know, at some point.
- 31:11Speaker 2: The drummer and the basis are like, well, fuck, I
- 31:13Speaker 2: want a little more.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Yes, So turning coming in was so huge because it
- 31:17Speaker 1: was finally like this idea, like we had equity in
- 31:21Speaker 1: the company, but what does that mean?
- 31:22Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 31:23Speaker 2: Until equity means nothing if no one buys it.
- 31:26Speaker 1: So when he bought it, it was like, oh fuck,
- 31:28Speaker 1: Like that was the first time we got a little
- 31:30Speaker 1: bit of money in our pocket. Like this is awesome.
- 31:32Speaker 1: We're all gonna move to New York. We're all gonna
- 31:34Speaker 1: try this thing. So he came along in a perfect time.
- 31:37Speaker 5: Couldn't have been better when the tension was there, like
- 31:39Speaker 5: how did you how how did that go down? Like
- 31:41Speaker 5: you and and Kevin just kind of approaching Dave about
- 31:43Speaker 5: a conversation.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Did you guys have conversations yourself? Yeah, Kevin, I have
- 31:47Speaker 1: conversations to ourselves. I think it was also just you
- 31:50Speaker 1: could see it sometimes, like on the rundown, it would
- 31:53Speaker 1: come through like that's a big thing. Like if there's
- 31:55Speaker 1: the audience is not stupid, they know if like you're
- 31:58Speaker 1: not getting along, you know what I mean, they know
- 32:00Speaker 1: if there's a tension in the room. So I think
- 32:03Speaker 1: that we definitely suffer with the rundown, that little stretch
- 32:08Speaker 1: and just trying to figure everything out, like the New York.
- 32:10Speaker 1: The first year in New York was fucking insane because
- 32:13Speaker 1: it was just throwing like fifty people in a small cramped.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Office and just seeing what worked, and everyone was trying
- 32:21Speaker 2: to make it.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Everyone was trying to figure out their lane, and it
- 32:24Speaker 1: was like, you you want to be a good teammate
- 32:29Speaker 1: and be supporting everyone, But at the end of the day,
- 32:31Speaker 1: it is a business where everyone wants to succeed themselves.
- 32:34Speaker 1: So like that attention, you know what I mean, is
- 32:37Speaker 1: always there. I would imagine it's kind of like playing
- 32:40Speaker 1: on a you know, NFL roster. It's like, yeah, you
- 32:42Speaker 1: want to win, but there's guys who are like, hey,
- 32:44Speaker 1: I want to get my catches, I want to get
- 32:45Speaker 1: my tack, you know what I mean.
- 32:46Speaker 5: Especially receivers are differently Yeah, right, like, yeah, in the
- 32:49Speaker 5: position I was in, it's not like, you know, want
- 32:51Speaker 5: guys to get hurt, but I just like you understand that, right,
- 32:54Speaker 5: you kind of need somebody to go down if you're
- 32:55Speaker 5: going to run some opportunity.
- 32:56Speaker 1: It's a shitty thing to think, but it's also a
- 32:58Speaker 1: human nature. Yeah, And you can't you deny it. You
- 33:00Speaker 1: can't be like that's not the truth, Like I want,
- 33:03Speaker 1: I want my thing to work.
- 33:04Speaker 2: And then part of my take was.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Like the part of my takes starting and how quickly
- 33:10Speaker 1: it got huge was like insane, Like I we think
- 33:14Speaker 1: about it back. We got very lucky at the right
- 33:16Speaker 1: time PFT, Like I wanted PFT to come to barstool
- 33:20Speaker 1: for like two years before Chrman bought us, but when
- 33:22Speaker 1: Sherton bought us, we finally had the cash to like
- 33:25Speaker 1: woo someone like that. And then part of my take
- 33:27Speaker 1: starts and I don't know if I think it's the
- 33:30Speaker 1: luck thing where we hit a certain time with podcasting,
- 33:34Speaker 1: where podcasting started, but it wasn't huge, so there wasn't
- 33:37Speaker 1: a million podcasts, and we were the first podcast that
- 33:41Speaker 1: it felt like I might someone will probably correctly be like,
- 33:44Speaker 1: you're an idiot that did all sports and did it
- 33:48Speaker 1: the way.
- 33:48Speaker 2: We did it, like having fun with it, not seeing
- 33:50Speaker 2: ourselves too seriously.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Like the coming man type stuff, right, like.
- 33:53Speaker 1: I'm a sports fan, I'm not. I don't fucking know
- 33:56Speaker 1: you know the ins and outs of every sport I cover.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I'd watched the game the roof for my teams, and
- 34:01Speaker 1: that's what I would tell you, and I see the
- 34:03Speaker 1: funny parts.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Yeah, and what so when part of my take comes
- 34:06Speaker 5: and you get PFT overs, that basically how part of
- 34:09Speaker 5: my take starts is with you in PFT yeah, or
- 34:11Speaker 5: like you and others doing part of my take or
- 34:14Speaker 5: you on rundown, like what shows are you doing?
- 34:15Speaker 3: Well?
- 34:16Speaker 1: I was doing rundown in KFC radio, So for what
- 34:19Speaker 1: I think it was like maybe two years was me
- 34:21Speaker 1: Kevin and Kevin started km srida himself and he gets
- 34:24Speaker 1: I mean he David said this too, like the fact
- 34:27Speaker 1: that like we didn't do podcasts and till Kevin pushed
- 34:30Speaker 1: us to do podcasts, so huge for the company that
- 34:33Speaker 1: like it, he changed the company by being like, let's
- 34:36Speaker 1: start doing podcasts. So I did KFC Radio with Kevin
- 34:39Speaker 1: in fights, and then I did the rundown and then
- 34:41Speaker 1: I blogged all the time, and it was like KMC
- 34:44Speaker 1: Radio wasn't really a sports show. We talk about sports,
- 34:47Speaker 1: but it wasn't like fully sports. So once PFT came on,
- 34:50Speaker 1: it's like, I have this idea, let's do this show
- 34:53Speaker 1: and let's see how it goes. And like I said,
- 34:55Speaker 1: it was the fact that it hit as quickly as
- 34:57Speaker 1: it did, Like I don't know what would happened if
- 35:00Speaker 1: it didn't, you.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Know what I mean when you say it hit quickly,
- 35:03Speaker 3: Like how quickly was it?
- 35:04Speaker 4: Like, Oh, we have traction, we can get the guests
- 35:05Speaker 4: we want, Like what did you think to yourself?
- 35:08Speaker 1: We call this person, they'll come on the show. It
- 35:10Speaker 1: So that was probably about four or five months. The
- 35:14Speaker 1: first moment that it really hit was we had we
- 35:16Speaker 1: did an interview with Kyle Wilcher, who played at Kentucky
- 35:20Speaker 1: and Gonzaga, very good basketball player. He came on before
- 35:23Speaker 1: the tournament and he told us a story about Adam
- 35:25Speaker 1: Morrison having an apocalypse punker, and everyone picks us, everyone
- 35:30Speaker 1: like yeah, every news story, every news site picked it up.
- 35:33Speaker 1: They're like, Adam Morrison has an apocalypse punker.
- 35:35Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 35:37Speaker 1: And that was the first time we're like, oh, fuck
- 35:38Speaker 1: like people are listening. And then what was huge was
- 35:42Speaker 1: Adam Morrison being a really fucking cool guy and agreeing
- 35:45Speaker 1: to come on and be like, I don't actually have
- 35:47Speaker 1: an apocalypse punker, I just have some guns.
- 35:49Speaker 3: Like it's not that a couple.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Of games lives. Yeah, he lives in like Washington and
- 35:55Speaker 1: like in the woods, like not in the woods, but
- 35:58Speaker 1: like he lives in a state where it's like, yeah,
- 36:00Speaker 1: people own guns. So him coming on and being cool
- 36:04Speaker 1: about it then propelled it where it was like the
- 36:06Speaker 1: idea that we're not trying to burn people, We're trying
- 36:10Speaker 1: to have fun with this. And then we had Joe
- 36:12Speaker 1: Buck and Scott Van Pelt were the other two big
- 36:14Speaker 1: ones that summer where it was like, fuck, this is
- 36:17Speaker 1: this is awesome, And that was the first time we're like,
- 36:19Speaker 1: I think we can get.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Like most guests because you see so many like people
- 36:22Speaker 4: that start podcasts and I'm sure your dams are flooded
- 36:24Speaker 4: with Hey I started this podcast?
- 36:26Speaker 3: Can I come on?
- 36:26Speaker 4: But then you go look, I'll like people will DM
- 36:28Speaker 4: me and like hey, can you come on my show,
- 36:29Speaker 4: and I'll go look at their YouTube and I'll be like,
- 36:31Speaker 4: they'll put a podcast out every three weeks, right every month,
- 36:35Speaker 4: right like we guys consistently at three immediately to do.
- 36:39Speaker 3: It right away.
- 36:40Speaker 2: So the first episode of Part of My Take.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Was a disaster, like total disaster, because.
- 36:45Speaker 1: We then this goes back to like the evolving thing
- 36:48Speaker 1: quickly pivoting off of things that don't work. We started
- 36:52Speaker 1: the show and our idea was to tape it in
- 36:54Speaker 1: the mornings, so like Monday morning at like nine am, we.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Tape it, Hank would edit, it'd be out at like nude.
- 37:01Speaker 1: We also were trying to do like a very We're like,
- 37:04Speaker 1: we don't want to be a long podcast or want
- 37:06Speaker 1: to be something that people can just listen to, like
- 37:07Speaker 1: on their lunch break.
- 37:09Speaker 2: So we had the idea of doing interviews.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Instead of five good minutes that PTI does, we're gonna
- 37:13Speaker 1: do four good minutes.
- 37:15Speaker 2: That was the dumbest idea ever.
- 37:16Speaker 3: I think.
- 37:16Speaker 1: We had Chris Long on it, and we like we
- 37:18Speaker 1: started playing the play it off music like the Oscars music,
- 37:22Speaker 1: like you know, three and a half minutes in, we
- 37:24Speaker 1: hadn't even asked him a question, so we we had
- 37:27Speaker 1: like reggaetone like sound effects and shit, it was. It
- 37:31Speaker 1: was weird, but we quickly were like this doesn't work,
- 37:33Speaker 1: Like we got to do night, we got to do longer.
- 37:36Speaker 1: We can't like be cutting off guests, so like that. Yeah,
- 37:39Speaker 1: the first like week, I remember, people were like this
- 37:41Speaker 1: show sucked. And then but we pivoted very quickly and
- 37:45Speaker 1: we're like, yeah, three times week. Yeah, people did want
- 37:47Speaker 1: us to do five times a week, which would have
- 37:48Speaker 1: killed us, and we did like a Saturday show a
- 37:51Speaker 1: couple of times, but that one was that was another
- 37:54Speaker 1: one where it's like, wait, why are we doing?
- 37:56Speaker 2: Like three's good? You know what I mean? Like three
- 37:58Speaker 2: shows a week.
- 37:59Speaker 1: You don't need to push it to a point where
- 38:01Speaker 1: we're burning ourselves out and burning the listener out, because
- 38:03Speaker 1: you guys know it, like when you when you start
- 38:06Speaker 1: a podcast and you start something that people are drawn to,
- 38:10Speaker 1: it's very important to make it accessible that people can
- 38:13Speaker 1: listen and feel like they're on the inside of the joke.
- 38:15Speaker 1: So if you flood them with five six episodes a
- 38:18Speaker 1: week now, they're like, wait, I missed an episode?
- 38:21Speaker 2: What are they talking about?
- 38:22Speaker 1: Because it's like, you guys do the same thing where
- 38:24Speaker 1: there's a there's a storyline that goes throughout the whole
- 38:26Speaker 1: show and it's very important that the listeners feel like
- 38:29Speaker 1: they're in on the combo and they're not missing stuff.
- 38:32Speaker 1: So being like, oh, yeah, here's fifteen hours a week
- 38:34Speaker 1: that you got to listen to.
- 38:35Speaker 2: That's the top Yeah, yeah, to do a job for
- 38:37Speaker 2: the conser right right, And then they missed one and
- 38:39Speaker 2: they're like, wait, what's that inside joke?
- 38:41Speaker 5: I missed the Yeah, and then they slowly just get
- 38:44Speaker 5: out of it.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Yeah, once you have them missed one, like, it's easier
- 38:46Speaker 1: to miss the second one.
- 38:48Speaker 3: When at what point does Eric have come into the equation?
- 38:50Speaker 2: She was hired with the Churning guys, or Dave hired
- 38:54Speaker 2: her after Churning came it.
- 38:55Speaker 1: So it was funny we we had I actually don't
- 38:59Speaker 1: know if I've told this, Uh, the so we interviewed
- 39:03Speaker 1: a bunch of people. The whole move to New York
- 39:07Speaker 1: was like, we're gonna beef it up. We're gonna hire
- 39:09Speaker 1: the right staff. We're gonna hire like an all business
- 39:11Speaker 1: Pete loud Sean is no longer with us, but he's
- 39:13Speaker 1: not dead.
- 39:15Speaker 2: He's no longer at Parcel.
- 39:18Speaker 3: I said that that.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Sounds like he's dead.
- 39:21Speaker 1: We interviewed like probably like thirty different CEOs where Dave
- 39:25Speaker 1: would interview him in person, and then he passed him
- 39:27Speaker 1: off to meet Kevin and Kmarco and we talked to
- 39:29Speaker 1: him on the phone and he met Erica hit it
- 39:33Speaker 1: off right away. I actually talked to Erica on the phone,
- 39:37Speaker 1: and I like think that I might like I remember
- 39:40Speaker 1: that the Churning guys got mad at me because I
- 39:43Speaker 1: like I scared her a little bit about the job
- 39:46Speaker 1: because I was My thing was Dave is gonna Dave
- 39:49Speaker 1: can sell to anyone, So Dave sits in a room
- 39:52Speaker 1: with you, You're gonna be like, yes, I'm in. I
- 39:56Speaker 1: remember I was taking the approach of when I talked
- 39:59Speaker 1: to these potential ceo is, being like, this is the
- 40:02Speaker 1: best job. Here are the like issues with what we
- 40:05Speaker 1: have right now, Like we're disorganized, we're kind of like
- 40:08Speaker 1: all the shutters throats all the time.
- 40:10Speaker 2: And I said all this stuff, and then.
- 40:11Speaker 1: I remember I got a call from I think Kurrns
- 40:13Speaker 1: after He's like, what the fuck did you say to her?
- 40:16Speaker 5: Yeah, because what was Erica saying, like, Hey, I don't
- 40:18Speaker 5: know if this is yeah.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Maybe she had like cold feet for a second. She
- 40:21Speaker 2: ended up being fine.
- 40:22Speaker 1: I was like, I just was literally saying like, this
- 40:24Speaker 1: is not the easiest job in the world. I was
- 40:26Speaker 1: trying to be honest, like because I wanted someone.
- 40:29Speaker 3: Like, hey, do you have any clue what you're getting?
- 40:31Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I wanted whoever took the job to not
- 40:33Speaker 2: be blindsided.
- 40:34Speaker 3: And be like, wait, these guys are fucking idiots.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Because we were so I want to be like listen,
- 40:38Speaker 1: like we don't know what we're doing, like at all,
- 40:41Speaker 1: and so we need like a lot of help. And
- 40:44Speaker 1: she was incredible. I mean, she she changed my life.
- 40:46Speaker 1: I mean, like it's sad that she's she's leaving barstool,
- 40:49Speaker 1: but she her. Like the entrance of Erica to be
- 40:53Speaker 1: that like ying ying and yang of Dave was great
- 40:56Speaker 1: because Dave the other guard about Dave, which he's very
- 40:59Speaker 1: honest about it. He doesn't want to hear people can
- 41:01Speaker 1: play like he doesn't. If you go into Dave's office,
- 41:03Speaker 1: you're like, I don't I'm not getting enough shot. Shut
- 41:06Speaker 1: the fuck up, like go to work. But there is
- 41:09Speaker 1: a human nature of working for a company where people
- 41:11Speaker 1: can play. And Erica was really good at being able
- 41:13Speaker 1: to like internalize those like people who go to Erica
- 41:15Speaker 1: and talk to her. She'd be like all right, able
- 41:17Speaker 1: to figure it out that type of stuff, right right,
- 41:20Speaker 1: Like that's a big part of it. And I like
- 41:22Speaker 1: Dave is very honest that he doesn't care about you
- 41:25Speaker 1: being heard. So it's like you know what to expect.
- 41:27Speaker 1: People will still be stunned when they'll be like indeed,
- 41:31Speaker 1: like why do you do this decision like why do
- 41:33Speaker 1: you do this? Or why is he listening to this?
- 41:35Speaker 1: Like dude, you don't. It worn't for take for a
- 41:37Speaker 1: long time. You can't figure it out, like you use
- 41:39Speaker 1: use what Dave is to your benefit, Like he is fair.
- 41:43Speaker 1: He's not going to watch everything. If you do a
- 41:46Speaker 1: good job, he will reward you. And know that any
- 41:49Speaker 1: complaint that you said to him, he's just not going
- 41:51Speaker 1: to care about.
- 41:52Speaker 4: Not the words of affirmation. Guy, though, you're never going
- 41:54Speaker 4: to say a good job. Then there's a clip of
- 41:55Speaker 4: you saying like he tested you one time to say people.
- 41:58Speaker 2: Yeah he's I think I got one.
- 41:59Speaker 3: It was email.
- 42:00Speaker 1: He was like, good good video that you did. Yeah,
- 42:02Speaker 1: it was a good blog. And then there was one
- 42:04Speaker 1: other time there was a video like that. There's been
- 42:06Speaker 1: two times in my career where Date's been like slapped
- 42:08Speaker 1: me on the ass, so like you guys probably had
- 42:10Speaker 1: coaches like that, who cares. Once you realize it, it's like, Okay,
- 42:14Speaker 1: I know what to deal with.
- 42:15Speaker 3: I know that, like I do.
- 42:16Speaker 1: I'm not going to seek his approval because it's never
- 42:19Speaker 1: gonna happen that way, So just figure it out and
- 42:22Speaker 1: do it the right way.
- 42:23Speaker 4: How quickly do you see like turnover in Barstool throughout
- 42:26Speaker 4: the years based on people coming from like a Fox
- 42:28Speaker 4: or an ESPN or he's more mainstream and then walking
- 42:31Speaker 4: into this thinking that they have to be buttoned up.
- 42:33Speaker 4: We're doing a show like organized, like, hey, we're really
- 42:36Speaker 4: just like today we just sat here, right, We're in
- 42:38Speaker 4: a conversation that we just pressed recording.
- 42:40Speaker 3: Right. Yeah.
- 42:40Speaker 1: I think there's been some some misses and hires, but
- 42:43Speaker 1: I mean everyone we hired.
- 42:45Speaker 2: We did it with good intentions of like trying to
- 42:47Speaker 2: grow the brand.
- 42:48Speaker 1: But there's people on the outside of Barstool, like in
- 42:52Speaker 1: the ESPN Fox world. I think there's this idea that
- 42:56Speaker 1: they're like, if I could swear, if I could do
- 42:58Speaker 1: it like you guys, I would crush it. And then
- 43:00Speaker 1: they get there and they're like, well this is a
- 43:02Speaker 1: lot different, Like a lot of the ship we do
- 43:04Speaker 1: is like spur of the moment, live off the top
- 43:06Speaker 1: of your head, and that is a skill that you
- 43:08Speaker 1: have to like get over time.
- 43:10Speaker 2: So yeah, that that.
- 43:12Speaker 1: It's definitely had some failures with some of the hires,
- 43:14Speaker 1: but is you gotta take shots. Yeah, here guys are
- 43:17Speaker 1: a success story like that was I mean when we
- 43:20Speaker 1: look at like the best hires.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Like you guys are up there. You know it's true though,
- 43:25Speaker 2: because you guys got.
- 43:26Speaker 3: It right away. Somebody say you got it because you
- 43:29Speaker 3: just read the PMT play book.
- 43:30Speaker 5: But a lot a lot of people say that, a
- 43:33Speaker 5: lot of people say that it's good that I love
- 43:36Speaker 5: you guys so much because sometimes you be like, dude,
- 43:38Speaker 5: they're ripping you off, Like I don't care.
- 43:39Speaker 3: I love those guys.
- 43:40Speaker 2: If I didn't like you guys, it would would be mad.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Has there ever been an employee obviously has not here
- 43:45Speaker 3: anymore that you just fucking hated h or worst?
- 43:51Speaker 1: I mean, that would probably be the Michael Rapport was
- 43:54Speaker 1: probably the worst sire, which is crazy because they're in
- 43:58Speaker 1: a public breakup now, was such well I don't really
- 44:01Speaker 1: know the storyline of that, so he got hired. Like
- 44:05Speaker 1: the craziest part about the Michael Rapport. Thing is, I
- 44:07Speaker 1: actually don't regret the higher Dave and I went out
- 44:10Speaker 1: to LA and met with him, and he's like, he
- 44:11Speaker 1: was a totally normal guy. He came on PMT I
- 44:15Speaker 1: don't know three four times over the course of the year,
- 44:17Speaker 1: and I will stand on it that those interviews were funny,
- 44:20Speaker 1: Like he was funny, he was good on the mic,
- 44:22Speaker 1: but something changed in his brain. And he also was
- 44:26Speaker 1: one of those guys that like culturally didn't fully fit
- 44:29Speaker 1: where he'd come to the office and he would maybe
- 44:32Speaker 1: say hello to like me and Kevin and Dave, but
- 44:34Speaker 1: not everyone else, and like that rubs people the wrong way.
- 44:38Speaker 1: But yeah, that was a public breakup that did not
- 44:40Speaker 1: go well. But again I don't regret it because you've
- 44:42Speaker 1: got to do those you gotta take those shots.
- 44:44Speaker 3: You know, right, like leaning into leaning into that stuff,
- 44:47Speaker 3: which is very uncomfortable for a lot of people.
- 44:49Speaker 5: But then you kind of look at the history of
- 44:51Speaker 5: Barstool in a lot of those public moments, it ends
- 44:53Speaker 5: up coming back around.
- 44:55Speaker 1: It's it's the best thing that we do is that
- 44:58Speaker 1: we're very honest with our fans, and like when we
- 45:00Speaker 1: make mistakes, they're public mistakes and people love that because
- 45:04Speaker 1: it's showing all of our flaws. Yeah, people love to
- 45:06Speaker 1: the negative the positive, right, and they just love to
- 45:09Speaker 1: be like, oh, you guys fuck up, you're idiots. Like
- 45:11Speaker 1: there was there's a thing that we used to say,
- 45:13Speaker 1: the Barsenal difference, which is not as funny anymore because
- 45:16Speaker 1: there's like a lot of jobs at stake and a
- 45:18Speaker 1: lot of money at stake, But the Parsonal difference was
- 45:20Speaker 1: always like if we put out a video that we
- 45:23Speaker 1: worked really hard on and the sound just didn't work
- 45:25Speaker 1: or you know, like the camera was all shaky or like,
- 45:28Speaker 1: and people like Barsal difference. So like we did the
- 45:30Speaker 1: Rundown once where we just take an entire rundown with
- 45:33Speaker 1: no sound and then we had to redo it and
- 45:35Speaker 1: it's like impossible to read this. That's the worst feeling
- 45:38Speaker 1: in the world, like trying to tell the jokes again
- 45:40Speaker 1: and we're just like, this is fucking And then I
- 45:42Speaker 1: think the second one we take, we just said we
- 45:45Speaker 1: we started it, we gave it a shot, and then
- 45:47Speaker 1: ten minutes they we're like this fucking stupid, like we
- 45:49Speaker 1: already take this.
- 45:50Speaker 2: And then people enjoy.
- 45:51Speaker 1: That part where they're like, oh, they're being honest, like
- 45:54Speaker 1: they can't do it again.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Yeah, trying to relive a moment is one of the
- 45:57Speaker 3: harder things to do, right, And yeah, like we try
- 45:58Speaker 3: to do something, we're like, hey, I'm gonna say this again, right. Yeah.
- 46:01Speaker 3: Well we had that S and P where we had
- 46:03Speaker 3: to go reshoot the whole a bar that.
- 46:06Speaker 2: I was mad about.
- 46:08Speaker 3: Yeah, oh yeah, something like that. We know what was
- 46:10Speaker 3: the deal.
- 46:11Speaker 1: I'm not mad because you guys are opportunists and you know,
- 46:13Speaker 1: you know, take advantage of a small, little Jewish man
- 46:17Speaker 1: from Long Island when you say hey, here's a camera
- 46:19Speaker 1: and he's like.
- 46:19Speaker 2: I'm in Yeah, Stepp, It's like, Stu, what are you doing?
- 46:24Speaker 2: He won Sports Show.
- 46:26Speaker 3: It's a great show.
- 46:27Speaker 4: Him giving the backstro on that show and how Dave
- 46:29Speaker 4: used to watch him as a kid. Bring It Back
- 46:31Speaker 4: was an awesome clips. He saved his life that he
- 46:37Speaker 4: his mouth. He didn't say that.
- 46:41Speaker 2: We save We saved his life.
- 46:42Speaker 3: He said he'd come back a whole bunch next year
- 46:44Speaker 3: to for some things.
- 46:46Speaker 5: So what's fun What's funny about that is is knowing
- 46:48Speaker 5: he was going to come on the bus because I
- 46:50Speaker 5: listened to him on obviously following you guys with Sports
- 46:53Speaker 5: Advisor and everything else. But I listened to him talk
- 46:55Speaker 5: on Spin Chigles, It's like, oh, I mean, he's got
- 46:57Speaker 5: a nice little story, and so he was planning on
- 47:00Speaker 5: coming on and just worked out to where the S
- 47:02Speaker 5: and P was act was also happening, and we're very
- 47:05Speaker 5: aware of how our show comes off, very advisors like,
- 47:09Speaker 5: and so no, no thing.
- 47:12Speaker 3: That's just I do need to say that too, Like
- 47:16Speaker 3: although that like imitation, was it? What's a quote about invitation?
- 47:21Speaker 5: Yeah, Like we'll have conversations with Barcel and the higher
- 47:23Speaker 5: ups and people be, hey, you should lean into doing this,
- 47:26Speaker 5: or you should do that, or we're like, hey, we
- 47:27Speaker 5: want to do a gambling show, and they sent in
- 47:29Speaker 5: a team to build out what it could look like.
- 47:31Speaker 5: It's not like it's not like we just it's not
- 47:33Speaker 5: like we just knew that it was gonna be the
- 47:34Speaker 5: same exact set. But knowing that Stu was coming in,
- 47:38Speaker 5: I was like, we need to really lean into being
- 47:40Speaker 5: the whole knockout because everybody we see everybody, Oh, you
- 47:43Speaker 5: guys are just taking this round. And since we know
- 47:45Speaker 5: we're changing some things for the gambling show going into
- 47:47Speaker 5: next year, it's like it would be really funny to
- 47:49Speaker 5: really lean into.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Sports perfect.
- 47:53Speaker 3: It was our best show.
- 47:56Speaker 2: He said.
- 47:56Speaker 3: He gets no dollars. He said he did the deal
- 48:02Speaker 3: with Dave. No, no, no, I'll get go ahead, I know
- 48:04Speaker 3: I'll go He said he did the deal with Dave,
- 48:08Speaker 3: and Dave's like, hey, what do you want to get paid?
- 48:10Speaker 3: He's like, I just want to run commercials during the show.
- 48:14Speaker 1: But that's what he does, I know. And then he's like,
- 48:17Speaker 1: you don't pay me anything. He's like, stud, you get
- 48:18Speaker 1: a fu. You made the deal and you get like
- 48:21Speaker 1: a huge audience every single meet for your for your
- 48:25Speaker 1: tout service.
- 48:27Speaker 2: I can't say, mad, it's do I tried, like he
- 48:30Speaker 2: called me, He's like mad.
- 48:31Speaker 3: I was furious.
- 48:32Speaker 1: And then he like start, I'm so sorry, I'm doing
- 48:34Speaker 1: for you.
- 48:36Speaker 3: I know he didn't get the best birthday shout out
- 48:39Speaker 3: for him.
- 48:40Speaker 5: Yeah, And I was like, you know, I knew it
- 48:42Speaker 5: was a one off, and I knew like all this
- 48:44Speaker 5: stuff going into it, and.
- 48:46Speaker 3: Uh he did. He got but he before the show,
- 48:51Speaker 3: he didn't necessarily he didn't say that off.
- 48:52Speaker 1: You would never give picks. You gotta go like we
- 48:55Speaker 1: did a whole show last year. We didn't give a
- 48:57Speaker 1: single pick, like actually got mad. I I like, I
- 49:00Speaker 1: was like, it would be like, I don't know, pick
- 49:02Speaker 1: a game like Bengals Bengals Bills, and he'd be like,
- 49:07Speaker 1: no pick, goes to fire k dot Com like but
- 49:09Speaker 1: he like, if you're ye'll be like if I had
- 49:12Speaker 1: your whole all four year kids hostage.
- 49:14Speaker 3: I was like, you gotta give me a pick. I
- 49:17Speaker 3: guess i'd be a bill.
- 49:18Speaker 1: So then we did the whole graphic of all those
- 49:19Speaker 1: leans and he went like oh and seven and he
- 49:22Speaker 1: got so mad.
- 49:25Speaker 5: Because Jack put up the photo of us doing the
- 49:27Speaker 5: show and he was like Hank texting him just being
- 49:30Speaker 5: like disappointed.
- 49:31Speaker 3: And he goes another thing too, He's like, I don't
- 49:32Speaker 3: really do my playoff picks. I was like, oh, you
- 49:34Speaker 3: don't get played. He's like, no, never, he just isn't
- 49:37Speaker 3: the show and yells about Stu finder dot com.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, regular season he'll give picks, but yeah, he'll
- 49:42Speaker 1: he'll just yell about dot com.
- 49:44Speaker 3: That's lakes, gentlemen, we don't have this episode to bring
- 49:47Speaker 3: you a sponsor. That sponsor. I'm not gonna tell you
- 49:50Speaker 3: what at first.
- 49:50Speaker 4: I'm gonna tell you when I walk into my house
- 49:52Speaker 4: and I want to sit in comfort. There's one specific
- 49:55Speaker 4: furniture spot I go to and then as actually furnishure.
- 49:58Speaker 3: Dude, I got.
- 49:58Speaker 4: A great big couch that sits in my living room
- 50:01Speaker 4: when it's been a long day doing pods, ripping around,
- 50:03Speaker 4: grabbing a palm, ripping around with kids. That couch helps
- 50:07Speaker 4: get those batteries from negative back to neutral to go
- 50:10Speaker 4: conquer another day.
- 50:12Speaker 3: And it's also what it's probably affordable too, really, huh
- 50:14Speaker 3: it is.
- 50:14Speaker 5: And if you are in town this weekend in Vegas

- 50:41Speaker 3: Back to the episode, Yeah.
- 50:43Speaker 4: The gambling spaces. You haven't seen the percentages of what
- 50:47Speaker 4: my ear, oh what'd you do? I think in the
- 50:50Speaker 4: playoffs of sixty eight percent, right, now, oh yeah, overall on.
- 50:53Speaker 3: The season, I'm like fifty one point three or so.
- 50:55Speaker 3: That's missing money.
- 50:57Speaker 4: But that is yeah, that's you're a It was way
- 51:00Speaker 4: harder than I expected because I was.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Talking you were caught. I was like, I was.
- 51:06Speaker 3: Doing that for us to maybe build something.
- 51:08Speaker 2: But yeah, no, that's that's huge. I mean, it's gambling
- 51:12Speaker 2: is impossible.
- 51:13Speaker 4: Still, look me in the eyes, and you'll never have
- 51:15Speaker 4: another you like this again.
- 51:16Speaker 3: Yeah, this will be your best year ever.
- 51:17Speaker 2: So enjoyed, right, Probably true.
- 51:19Speaker 1: I was like, fuck, gambling is impossible, Like you people
- 51:23Speaker 1: will come at us and be like, oh, you're you know,
- 51:25Speaker 1: getting people gams. Like I am the most honest person
- 51:28Speaker 1: when it comes to gambling on the internet. Like I'm
- 51:31Speaker 1: a loser. I lose, but I love doing it. I
- 51:34Speaker 1: love gambling, So like, don't don't follow me, know that,
- 51:38Speaker 1: Like I'm a loser. Know that you shouldn't gamble more
- 51:40Speaker 1: than what you have, Like I, yes, I gamble more
- 51:43Speaker 1: money than I did ten years ago, but I have
- 51:46Speaker 1: more money. Like it's gone up to a point where
- 51:48Speaker 1: it's like it's all relative. Like I'm never gambling money.
- 51:52Speaker 1: That would hurt my family, you know what I mean?
- 51:53Speaker 5: Though, you never tell you to slow down, and she's like, hey,
- 51:56Speaker 5: you're kind of getting a little out of control of
- 51:57Speaker 5: these nuclear.
- 51:58Speaker 1: No, there's there's a lot of the smart thing I've
- 52:02Speaker 1: done is like there's I don't have any access to
- 52:06Speaker 1: any of my money.
- 52:07Speaker 2: So like if my wife got hit by a bus tomorrow.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Like I wouldn't. I don't have it.
- 52:11Speaker 2: I don't have a debit card, I don't have anything.
- 52:14Speaker 1: You just have your account, but I don't even know what.
- 52:16Speaker 1: I don't even know how to get into my account.
- 52:18Speaker 1: I don't know what my account like, I don't know.
- 52:22Speaker 1: So but that's but I do that because she can
- 52:25Speaker 1: see everything I gamble, and it's like she she will.
- 52:29Speaker 2: Tell me if it's like hey, this is getting a
- 52:30Speaker 2: lot of hand.
- 52:31Speaker 1: But also she gets the freedom of like I've never asked,
- 52:34Speaker 1: Like I got couches that God knows what they cost
- 52:37Speaker 1: my house, like I never I don't know. So it's
- 52:40Speaker 1: like she can she manages the money. It's like we're good,
- 52:44Speaker 1: I'll gamble. I'm good.
- 52:46Speaker 2: We'll just keep it like that.
- 52:47Speaker 4: So you don't look at like you're you get to April,
- 52:50Speaker 4: you're looking at the taxes and you see all the losses.
- 52:52Speaker 4: And you don't say I'm gonna take X amount of
- 52:55Speaker 4: dollars per year and then that's what I'm gonna gamble with.
- 52:57Speaker 3: You just hit them.
- 52:58Speaker 1: No, it's usually just whatever I run out, I'm like, hey,
- 53:02Speaker 1: ran out again?
- 53:03Speaker 3: Back up, walking over here.
- 53:07Speaker 1: It's basically My gambling career is basically how like can
- 53:10Speaker 1: I last like more than like three or four months
- 53:12Speaker 1: of having to load back up?
- 53:14Speaker 2: That's successful me?
- 53:15Speaker 5: That is.
- 53:15Speaker 1: Yeah, like I the start of the football season was bad.
- 53:18Speaker 1: I think I I think I like did a big
- 53:20Speaker 1: deposit in August and then I had to re up
- 53:23Speaker 1: in like October.
- 53:24Speaker 2: But then I made it from my October to like
- 53:27Speaker 2: mid January.
- 53:27Speaker 1: Is like, that was coach.
- 53:29Speaker 3: I don't know how.
- 53:30Speaker 4: I don't know how public you are with what you
- 53:31Speaker 4: bet on nuclear missile whale players and all that.
- 53:33Speaker 3: We don't have to get into.
- 53:34Speaker 4: It, but when did When were you like, man, I
- 53:37Speaker 4: can really start doing putting in that make me sweat
- 53:39Speaker 4: my ead?
- 53:40Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, that was probably the last like two years
- 53:43Speaker 1: or so, maybe three years where I've been like okay,
- 53:46Speaker 1: like this is fun every now and then. Nuclear missile
- 53:49Speaker 1: whale players are usually between thirty and forty thousand dollars
- 53:54Speaker 1: and then and then that, and that makes me sweat
- 53:57Speaker 1: came in the years or like fifty but I lost
- 54:00Speaker 1: a couple of those, and that doesn't you don't get
- 54:02Speaker 1: those back.
- 54:03Speaker 2: Yeah, don't get those got no, no, no, no no.
- 54:07Speaker 2: But yeah, when I say that, that's usually.
- 54:08Speaker 3: What I'm betting. So when Michigan Alabama goes down and
- 54:12Speaker 3: you and I are, you and I were texting.
- 54:13Speaker 4: About who you're rooting for and all that, and you
- 54:15Speaker 4: were very much like, I just want mission to win
- 54:17Speaker 4: it strictly for day. Yeah, which hurt a little bit
- 54:19Speaker 4: because we're friends, but yeah, we are understanding, Like Dave,
- 54:23Speaker 4: like that amount of money like that, it's a once
- 54:25Speaker 4: in a lifetime best.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you've been a million dollars in the game, and like,
- 54:28Speaker 1: like I said, Dave and I've been gambling for a
- 54:29Speaker 1: very long time where I've seen his units go up
- 54:31Speaker 1: and my units go up at the same time.
- 54:33Speaker 2: Where it's like when he says I'm betting a million dollars,
- 54:36Speaker 2: like there's.
- 54:36Speaker 1: A gambling brotherhood behind it, where it's like I don't
- 54:39Speaker 1: like unless he's going against my team, like I'm rooting for,
- 54:42Speaker 1: I want him to win because that's that's a bit
- 54:44Speaker 1: of a lifetime. Say he was rooting really hard for
- 54:46Speaker 1: me to win that Eagles feature last year. It's like
- 54:49Speaker 1: that of a lifetime.
- 54:50Speaker 4: That hurt.
- 54:51Speaker 3: That hurts.
- 54:51Speaker 2: It hurt a lot. Pastrick Hopes keeps kicking my teeth.
- 54:54Speaker 3: And what do you think happens to Dave? How do
- 54:56Speaker 3: you think Dave handles it?
- 54:57Speaker 1: If Michigan loves the Alabama, he would have been very
- 55:01Speaker 1: down for a very long time.
- 55:03Speaker 3: Yeah, that would be bad.
- 55:04Speaker 1: He's when he wins, it's the he's the best to
- 55:07Speaker 1: be on this Like he I'm kind of similar where
- 55:10Speaker 1: it's like if I'm hot, like everyone's getting money, everyone's
- 55:13Speaker 1: getting FOOTBA Football show years ago, and that's a problem.
- 55:17Speaker 1: That's why I don't have my bank account because if
- 55:20Speaker 1: I have money in my pocket, I'm just gonna hand
- 55:22Speaker 1: it out to you like a fucking idiot. Like I
- 55:24Speaker 1: do that all the time, where I'm like, what did
- 55:26Speaker 1: I just do so? But it's I don't know. It's
- 55:30Speaker 1: that's the fun part of gambling. Like if I'm hot,
- 55:33Speaker 1: I want everyone else to be hot, like I want
- 55:35Speaker 1: I want to gamble together.
- 55:36Speaker 2: I want us to win together in Comraader.
- 55:38Speaker 4: Yeah, fun there's a small, like maybe selfish side of
- 55:41Speaker 4: you that's like I want everyone else to be excited
- 55:43Speaker 4: about this too.
- 55:43Speaker 3: Yeah, you're kind of like, hey take this well, Hey,
- 55:46Speaker 3: I'm great with you. Root for this. Yeah you got this?
- 55:48Speaker 1: Like so yeah, I mean and and I know that
- 55:50Speaker 1: that's a stupid way like pro pro gamblers, Like.
- 55:52Speaker 3: You're the dumbest person in the world.
- 55:53Speaker 1: I understand that because like money management and all that stuff.
- 55:58Speaker 3: But again, I if I don't get over my means.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Like I'm gonna do it my way where he's like,
- 56:02Speaker 1: I want everyone to feel that moment together.
- 56:04Speaker 2: That's why we're selling. Will you gotta come to like
- 56:07Speaker 2: for for March madness, Like that's the best.
- 56:10Speaker 1: When we just sit in that cave for four days
- 56:12Speaker 1: and just game on every gage, the just fight it
- 56:15Speaker 1: wars with your boys and you're just fucking like everyone
- 56:18Speaker 1: get on one bed, like let's fucking go.
- 56:21Speaker 2: There's nothing, there's no better.
- 56:22Speaker 4: For those Thursday night streams are fun when every buddy
- 56:24Speaker 4: like we hit the parlay together.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Checking our phones over and over again. What's that guy's name?
- 56:28Speaker 3: Reggie Gillam the tight End.
- 56:30Speaker 2: I tried to get everyone on the bills.
- 56:33Speaker 3: Bill's white guy. I think, right, yeah, we never saw.
- 56:38Speaker 1: Line goal line goal line, never personnel in the never
- 56:43Speaker 1: was never one.
- 56:45Speaker 4: When you when you distribute the wealth like that when
- 56:48Speaker 4: you're really giving it to other people.
- 56:50Speaker 3: And Jerry pulls a move like Raven his future heard
- 56:53Speaker 3: at the Bill's future, Bill's future like where's you guys relationship.
- 56:57Speaker 1: Saying that now we're okay now he he Jerry sometimes
- 57:02Speaker 1: forgets that like even though I have money, losing money
- 57:06Speaker 1: stale hurts a lot, Like that's just a fact, like
- 57:09Speaker 1: no one wants to lose. So he was playing with
- 57:12Speaker 1: fire there. I've forgiven him. He was upset. It was
- 57:16Speaker 1: the day before Steelers Bills. I think we all bet
- 57:20Speaker 1: Ryan Shakir to score a touchdown and he scored a
- 57:23Speaker 1: touchdown and we all like went crazy and he just
- 57:26Speaker 1: walked off the stream because it was like there was
- 57:28Speaker 1: the Steelers going down fourteen ye.
- 57:30Speaker 2: So like that was that was the villain origin story
- 57:32Speaker 2: for him.
- 57:33Speaker 3: That was the arc.
- 57:33Speaker 2: That's where he became.
- 57:34Speaker 5: Like the joker with the with barcela Q in Chicago Outsider,
- 57:38Speaker 5: were you how excited were you in the moment where
- 57:41Speaker 5: it starting to come into fruition that there was going
- 57:43Speaker 5: to be a Barcela in Chicago.
- 57:44Speaker 2: It was the big move was gonna take place. Yeah,
- 57:46Speaker 2: it was awesome.
- 57:47Speaker 1: And then looking at the spaces, like Hank and I
- 57:49Speaker 1: went out it was probably about sixteen months ago to
- 57:51Speaker 1: look at all these spaces and like just seeing the spaces.
- 57:54Speaker 2: For the first time was.
- 57:55Speaker 3: Like fuck, man, Like this is really going to be
- 57:58Speaker 3: everything like we wanted.
- 58:00Speaker 1: And it's just I think I've set up a spot
- 58:03Speaker 1: where people just genuinely want to go to work every
- 58:06Speaker 1: day because I don't want to get into the hole
- 58:09Speaker 1: not working on Fridays. The New York office, I know
- 58:11Speaker 1: they went through it. Barstool works at its best when
- 58:15Speaker 1: people show up and like every day you're in the mix,
- 58:18Speaker 1: you're in the grind. That's where the like beauty comes from,
- 58:23Speaker 1: that's where the content comes from. So building a spot
- 58:26Speaker 1: like that where people want to come every day and
- 58:30Speaker 1: incentivize them to come every day is everything I wanted
- 58:33Speaker 1: because then you get the buzz, you get the people around,
- 58:35Speaker 1: you get the ideas flowing.
- 58:37Speaker 2: That's it, that's the juice.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Like, that's what the first when we first moved to
- 58:41Speaker 1: New York, We're all stuck in this little office together
- 58:44Speaker 1: some people would probably say that's probably their favorite era
- 58:46Speaker 1: of barstool because it was every day everyone just sitting
- 58:49Speaker 1: on top of each other, like at each other's throats,
- 58:52Speaker 1: everybody's storyline.
- 58:53Speaker 2: Right right exactly, and then you see it all in
- 58:56Speaker 2: this reality show.
- 58:56Speaker 1: And I know that there's a little bit like the
- 58:59Speaker 1: Chicago office maybe a little bit different that, Like I've
- 59:01Speaker 1: never been I embraced the barstool drama, but I'm never
- 59:05Speaker 1: out to try to like create the barstool drama. If
- 59:08Speaker 1: it happens, it's awesome. So there might be a little
- 59:11Speaker 1: bit of a different vibe in Chicago where it's like
- 59:13Speaker 1: we're pulling for each other a little bit, and that's
- 59:16Speaker 1: more just how I've always operated. And it's also like
- 59:19Speaker 1: I've told everyone's solely sitting right here. I told I
- 59:21Speaker 1: give you pretty much everyone a speech who was coming
- 59:24Speaker 1: to Chicago is like, look, I have, let's say five
- 59:27Speaker 1: to seven more years of me like working at this pace.
- 59:31Speaker 1: I want to get to a point in five to
- 59:33Speaker 1: seven years where like everyone who's come with me has
- 59:36Speaker 1: elevated to a point where I don't have to work
- 59:38Speaker 1: that hard and everyone's like kind.
- 59:40Speaker 3: Of a star on their own.
- 59:41Speaker 1: So like that's the end goal and that's what That's
- 59:43Speaker 1: how I kind of try to lead.
- 59:45Speaker 3: What does your work look like after those five to
- 59:47Speaker 3: seven years.
- 59:48Speaker 2: I think it would be doing PMT, but maybe I
- 59:52Speaker 2: don't know.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a hard thing I wrestle with because like
- 59:55Speaker 1: I love my job so much that, like I say, I.
- 59:57Speaker 3: Want to step back, but do I? I don't know.
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: You see something going on, you're kind of like that's
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: the itch that you If you don't have that itch,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: then you like that's what Like I know Dave watches
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: us in Chicago when we're doing like streams and stuff
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: like the Jerry stream golf. I know Dave deep down
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: wants to eat it. Like I know he's he's like
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: enjoying his life, but I know, deep down he wants
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: to be there because he and I are wired the
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: same where it's like if there's action, we want in
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: and like having that feeling is what motivates you.
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: To be Like I want to be part of someone
- 1:00:28Speaker 3: do this? Yeah, how do you find the fulfillment?
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: Though?
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: When you do this, have a step away.
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: I'll be like, Okay, I'm finally going to we have
- 1:00:33Speaker 4: the cerevision in Montana's like we're kind of in more
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: in Bozeman, Like how do people just being the life
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: waring right now thinking about going to live in like
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: a Bozeman, Montana anchors out of a city, out of
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: like the hustle and bustle, Like where do you find
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: right that area to be Like.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: Okay, I present, yeah, right, I don't know.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: I don't really answer to it. Partly, I kind of
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: hope that and it will suck if this happens, but
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: I'm realistic about it, like the game Retiring you kind
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: of thing where it's like the be a point like
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: like you're fifty years old.
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: I don't care what you're saying.
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: Yeah, hopefully I have fifty years old or something. Hopefully
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I have a self awareness to realize that before it happens,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: and then I can be like, all right, I'm.
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: Not that'd be a tough couple of years where everyone
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: kind of sees, you know, like yeah, he's losing yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: yeah yeah. That is One of the more impressive things
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: about Dan is your ability for recall and staying like
- 1:01:32Speaker 4: remembering things like like when we were in the gag
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: last time I was in Chicago and then magicians are
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: He's like you a good liar.
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: I don't know, and you're like, well.
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: Tell them at the time, but I'm thinking my only
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: thought was like, how does he fucking just have that right.
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: There in the back of his palm? And then what
- 1:01:47Speaker 7: I'm not you know what, I'm just that was fun camera.
- 1:01:55Speaker 7: Yeah you love Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: It's such a trying time.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: Happy that we were able to make worse.
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: Yeah. The answer, I don't know, it's hopefully will hopefully
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: we'll click, Hopefully that moment will happen wrong, just like
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: all right, it's good because I mean I think it
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: kind of happened for David. I mean, he's still Dave
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: is the model where it's like he doesn't work the
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: same hours he used to work, but he does the
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: things he wants to do, and he's in the mix
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: for the March madness, for the super.
- 1:02:23Speaker 3: Bowl for that time, and then everything he does do
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: has like a more of a bum there because Dave's part.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Which David, yeah, part of every time he's on anything, but.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: The fact that it's less like less uh less supply.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: Of yeah, more elevator, He's like, oil, I don't know,
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: I know, we only have a couple of minutes left.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: We uh, we do the analytics. Some analytics. Analytics we
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: can talk about. I feel like, okay, okay, analytics, I
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: mean analytic kind of burn you know, the Lions not really. Yeah,
- 1:02:53Speaker 3: I wouldn't have I don't. I think the Lions fucked up.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: They should have absolutely, just we'll save it. We'll say, yeah,
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: I have stats for you you can show. Yeah, now
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: the down fourteen, gotta go for two.
- 1:03:05Speaker 5: I think that's hang on out what I wanted to
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: get for the last genius.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: No, okay, I think I don't think you.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Go for it again. I'm gonna we're gonna sit down
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: and get a piece of paper. I still don't think.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: If we're gonna if we're gonna wait on hold, because
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: that's what he'll go back. I still don't, you know,
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: think that you understand the rivalry between Chicago and New York.
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: Yes, as the leader of Barstool Chicago, why are you
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: guys better? It's been such a one of those class
- 1:03:41Speaker 5: comfortable conversations that bull sides try to lean into.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: It sucks lean to, but also not.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: I don't like leaning into it because it sucks because
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: I and people have heard me say this, and they're
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: like Oh, you're like you're saying this because you guys
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: are on top right now.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: Whatever.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: I we still do work for the same company. Like
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: if New York failed, it would be very bad for me,
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So it's like, and I'm
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: trying to figure out how like Fights was in Chicago
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: for a few days last week, it's awesome, Like trying
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: to get it so that people feel like they're you know,
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: feel comfortable coming to our office for a couple of
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: days and like mixing it up. Yeah, I mean, that's
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: that's why we have the best fans in the world
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: because they care so much, and so if they see
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: something like a rivalry, they're like, we're gonna hammer it,
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: like I liken.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: It to a million times.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: Like the like, if you're a fan of a team,
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: if you say your coach sucks or your quarterback sucks,
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: it doesn't mean you don't like your team. You're just
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: complaining about what's going on with the team right now.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: So it's like, not I never see like the fans
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: saying like, oh, New York sucks, really being like these
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: guys aren't fans, They're just passionate fans that care a
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: lot and they're invested a lot.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: I hope it works out.
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: I hope, I hope they kind of they've had a
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: little bit of a rocky couple of months, but they'll
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: find it. I mean, you just keep grinding. That's the
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: thing is like, that's I think it's too is. I
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: think the difference that people are gonna have to realize
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: is like we in Chicago are going to probably put
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: out more day to day, like every day, here's content,
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: here's live streams, whereas New York it might be more
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: tape stuff that is still really good, but it just
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: doesn't have the volume. So it's not like like New
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: York is still doing great stuff. It's just maybe is
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: in the same volume in Chicago, but we are more
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: of like live going live all the time.
- 1:05:24Speaker 4: The numbers are going to be skewed, right because you
- 1:05:27Speaker 4: have something every single day, correct, right, Like last week
- 1:05:29Speaker 4: we did like handball. One day Berman came in, we
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: did a stream with him, like all these things, the
- 1:05:35Speaker 4: Jerry after Dark stream, we just do.
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: We're doing it. That was one of the dumbest ideas.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: How long did that take?
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: Six hours?
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: It was you had to be an hour, Like goddamn.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: Dude, I was we couldn't find the first needle for
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: the first thirty minutes. I was like, what the fuck
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: are we doing?
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: Birthday? Yeah, birthday still pf every birthday and go home.
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: Yeah, did the kiss and went home.
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: How do you how many guys have you kissed? Because
- 1:06:02Speaker 4: there was a whole Yeah, which he's rather kissed your leg.
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean kissing. You don't kiss your bros.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: I mean I have.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: What bro then bringing back the word gay a lot,
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: Like that's a great, it's really hammering.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: It's really got to it's coming back. You're playing.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I like it because every time I see you
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: do it, I'm like, well you go to ESPN now.
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: It's great.
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: You're putting yourself in handcuffs.
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: I see I see Dana, and I'm just thinking, like, bro,
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: you know what's thinking that you're better than or you're
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: claiming to be better everybody else, Like embrace your.
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: Moment, like you have a little moment. Yeah, you did
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: have a good moment, like riding a little bit yourself.
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: Yeahs was number one, And he's just like, man, I
- 1:06:58Speaker 5: don't have announce of talent that everybody else will.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: Yeah, we all know you're a great guy. Yeah, thinks
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: you're coming on though, bro, I love yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: Yeah we can. Do you have one?
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: Oh so, Mitch, I don't know if you followed. Mitch
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: has been had a really hard time with his twisted questions.
- 1:07:19Speaker 4: They've been awful. Like one of them was would you
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: rather stop cursing or give a by screen?
- 1:07:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, we're getting I don't know if we're recording then.
- 1:07:28Speaker 5: Oh, this twisted question is brought to you by Twisted Tea,
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: the smoothest hard icy out there, kicking off the New
- 1:07:35Speaker 5: Year Rights Championship season, the big game this weekend. Keep
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: it twisted with Twisted Tea. Kick off your twenty twenty
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: four with a Twisted Tea today. Good luck to Mitch
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: Carsley on the twisted question would.
- 1:07:46Speaker 3: You rather fight and ship every time? Or one?
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: Would you rather fight a chicken every time you get
- 1:07:55Speaker 4: into a vehicle or fighting a rank tang once a year?
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: Probably granite.
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: Would literally rip you apart. No shots you guys that well.
- 1:08:11Speaker 1: The problem with some of these hypotheticals is like you
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: don't if you give me any hypothetical like oh, would
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: you rather like fight a shark or a bear?
- 1:08:19Speaker 8: I can just say like keep the ship up. There
- 1:08:22Speaker 8: you guys, how can you prove that I could? I
- 1:08:24Speaker 8: don't know, never gonna all the videos smack the bear. Well,
- 1:08:29Speaker 8: you realize, like I can just say what chickens?
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: You can literally just grab by the nec real quick
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: and just do that.
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: What if you forget your keys house? Yeah, you're like,
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: oh fuck, I forgot my kids lunch, Like I just
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: have fallen off the chicken.
- 1:08:42Speaker 2: That sucks, tedious, dude.
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: But chickens aren't roosters. Roosters have talents. Chickens don't have
- 1:08:49Speaker 4: a lot going on. Just grab and that can just
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: smash it.
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: You just look like.
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: Chickens twelve. I feel like that's every every basic bitsh
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: goes to Nashville does that.
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: Because I don't know if like that feggs on overalls,
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: walk out, I have a whole outfit. Yeah, tell everybody,
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: I just got chicken from What's got some chickens? The
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: free Range? What's the movie with Dame Franco And uh,
- 1:09:20Speaker 3: he's like the tech genius and he's dating the girl
- 1:09:22Speaker 3: and the dad comes in. Why him? I know the
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: scene there's a scene of him like feeding the chickens
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: and he has like a guy that fights him once
- 1:09:29Speaker 3: a day, like randomly that he has to learn because
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: he doesn't have security. And he takes a chicken, he
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: throws it at the guy. It is one of the
- 1:09:35Speaker 3: funniest scenes. But you have seen that something all right, Well,
- 1:09:38Speaker 3: thank you boys,
