- 0:49Speaker 1: All right, ready coming you live from my basement apartment
- 0:56Speaker 1: and one less friend joining us tonight because he's been
- 0:59Speaker 1: tucked away to Betty bye forever. This is Sports Allegedly Up. Welcome, Welcome, welcome, everybody.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Thanks for joining us for this episode on August third,
- 1:12Speaker 1: twenty twenty four of Sports Alleged. We thank you for
- 1:15Speaker 1: joining us. Sorry for the delay. We've been gone for
- 1:18Speaker 1: a minute. Lots of surgeries and other shit going on, illness,
- 1:21Speaker 1: and it's a rough life we live. But hey, tonight,
- 1:25Speaker 1: we're going to talk a little bit about the ACC.
- 1:29Speaker 1: We're gonna do our predictions tonight for the old ACC
- 1:33Speaker 1: and also going to go over the North North, NFL North,
- 1:39Speaker 1: the North and the NFC and the AFC North. We'll
- 1:42Speaker 1: talk about those predicted finishes, some of the new players
- 1:45Speaker 1: that's joined the team. Uh, those already you're already down here,
- 1:49Speaker 1: and so let's start right now. We'll give a little
- 1:55Speaker 1: little Olympic update we want to do.
- 1:56Speaker 2: We want to get into that about the Dutch Dutch.
- 2:01Speaker 1: A week we care about besides the stuff we just
- 2:04Speaker 1: watch on TV at the moment, we're really caring about
- 2:08Speaker 1: the medal count. So right now, currently United States leads
- 2:12Speaker 1: total medal count sixty one. Uh second, excuse me. Second
- 2:15Speaker 1: place is the froll says with forty one, and then
- 2:20Speaker 1: third place looks like now currently gold medal count China's
- 2:25Speaker 1: winning with sixteen, United States has fourteen, and then France
- 2:30Speaker 1: and Australia tied for twelve.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Worthy.
- 2:33Speaker 1: USA is really built a nice little leads in the
- 2:35Speaker 1: silver always second best, and the bronze so well, you.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Gotta think, you gotta, you gotta think. Early on in
- 2:44Speaker 3: the Olympic, America wasn't even in the top four in
- 2:48Speaker 3: the metal tracker for gold, so we've had to really
- 2:51Speaker 3: fix that.
- 2:54Speaker 1: So Simon, uh, Simon bowls huge, Lidecki huge for the US.
- 3:03Speaker 1: It looks like the men's I think the men swimming
- 3:09Speaker 1: in the men's swimming, well, you've got time to watch.
- 3:12Speaker 1: So I've been sleeping the men's swimming team. I believe
- 3:16Speaker 1: one goal today.
- 3:17Speaker 2: It's hard to slip.
- 3:18Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 3:19Speaker 2: It's hard to watch and sleep.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Now. The one thing I haven't watched at all, to
- 3:24Speaker 1: be honest, is track. I have not watched any track.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Everything's on so many different channels now. Yoused to be
- 3:31Speaker 3: on NBC and that was cool, and then.
- 3:33Speaker 1: You got Bob Costas just walking you through it all,
- 3:35Speaker 1: you know, And now that's that's over, and now we've
- 3:38Speaker 1: got now the one drama we did have was the
- 3:43Speaker 1: Algerian boxer I'm on punch now. So allegedly, allegedly, you know,
- 3:50Speaker 1: and and I think we've made our comments on this.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Allegedly she was born a female and she maybe got
- 3:55Speaker 1: tested and there was some sort of interesting extra he's
- 4:02Speaker 1: she he, I don't change.
- 4:03Speaker 2: You can't change chromosomes.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Well, you can have extra ones, though, I mean not
- 4:07Speaker 1: like the bad you know, Okay, you know what I'm saying.
- 4:10Speaker 1: You can have extra ones. And so apparently that's the story.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I don't really know. We've all talked about this though.
- 4:19Speaker 1: I was talking about Katie winning and other gold But
- 4:21Speaker 1: we've all talked about this before. Men, men believe in
- 4:26Speaker 1: men should be playing them in sports. Women and women.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Let's just stop talking the drama. Let's just get over
- 4:30Speaker 1: this ship. It seems like it's overshadowing all the athletes
- 4:33Speaker 1: that have worked hard. Now, if she was a woman,
- 4:36Speaker 1: that's different.
- 4:36Speaker 3: I did say they didn't let the rapists stay in
- 4:38Speaker 3: the in the in the Olympic village.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I was or something.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Yeah, that was.
- 4:45Speaker 1: There's so much stuff going on that that it's tough
- 4:47Speaker 1: to keep.
- 4:47Speaker 3: The Olympic village is just a big TD drunk fest,
- 4:52Speaker 3: allegedly allegedly you want to go. No, they don't get
- 4:57Speaker 3: they don't. They don't give gold medals for a little debbie.
- 4:59Speaker 1: But so our breaking down is what I wanted to do,
- 5:03Speaker 1: not throwing the breaking down in the speed of the
- 5:05Speaker 1: breaking a breaking. So let's go to the women. Move
- 5:13Speaker 1: on beat I think beat Japan today and soccer and
- 5:17Speaker 1: I think and I think the men are out. So
- 5:20Speaker 1: what are we doing with men's soccer? Is it?
- 5:25Speaker 2: Are we with a mineral under twenty three?
- 5:27Speaker 3: So that's not even super that's not even the stars.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Was this the time to make the dream team? Is
- 5:32Speaker 1: that what we're talking about?
- 5:33Speaker 2: Well, I don't think they can. I don't think it's
- 5:35Speaker 2: all I'm.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Saying, Oh, is that the rule? Now you got to
- 5:38Speaker 1: be older basketball players?
- 5:40Speaker 2: But men's soccer?
- 5:42Speaker 1: Oh shit, I don't even know what you're talking about.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I think you're talking about soccer.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I am, but that shouldn't be a rule if no
- 5:46Speaker 1: one else has got it.
- 5:48Speaker 2: I don't know dras what it looked like.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I've been looking at the wrong thing. I was looking
- 5:52Speaker 1: for soccer and the SSA's and I should.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Be looking at football in the.
- 5:58Speaker 1: So no news here. Thank you NBC for giving me nothing,
- 6:04Speaker 1: nothing and nothing.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Here we go, there's always nothing. I think the women,
- 6:11Speaker 2: the women can play. The women are good. The women
- 6:14Speaker 2: are good, I know, but I don't think the men
- 6:16Speaker 2: are the actual, you know, male star.
- 6:18Speaker 1: The women women beat Japan won nothing today and the
- 6:22Speaker 1: men lost to Morocco for nothing. So they're out. That
- 6:28Speaker 1: was yesterday. They're already done. And it's like you, this
- 6:32Speaker 1: is it? I mean, is that the best you can do?
- 6:35Speaker 2: Pretty much?
- 6:36Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, that's unacceptable for my American lineage to be
- 6:41Speaker 1: just getting their tails kicked. Us will play on the
- 6:44Speaker 1: six We've always soccer three days that'll be. They'll play
- 6:48Speaker 1: Germany at eleven.
- 6:52Speaker 2: If I'm reading that right, Look at the guys, this
- 6:56Speaker 2: is what we're teaching them. Tears still well, I didn't
- 7:00Speaker 2: want to play a damn video.
- 7:02Speaker 1: But the Boxer deal, the boxer deal has been the news. Yeah,
- 7:06Speaker 1: after the news.
- 7:08Speaker 2: That's not for me to decide. That's for the Olympic
- 7:10Speaker 2: Committee to figure out.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Men obviously continue three to Oho be Puerto Rico one
- 7:16Speaker 1: four eighty three. Puerto Rico did lead after the first quarter,
- 7:20Speaker 1: which is Porto Rico. Yes, Anthony Edwards, who I think
- 7:26Speaker 1: is the next big star. The Minnesota player had eleven
- 7:31Speaker 1: or fourteen, team twenty six points, had a few dunks
- 7:35Speaker 1: that were just dandy. Jason Tatum finally gets to play
- 7:38Speaker 1: after being shut out in Game one. I think he
- 7:40Speaker 1: didn't get to play at all. Ten points, ten rebounds.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and why is the men's competition for under twenty three?
- 7:46Speaker 2: And yeah, so that's it's it's under twenty three because
- 7:51Speaker 2: what it is I'm guessing accept the men's game has many.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Top level competitions, many of which take part the same
- 7:59Speaker 3: year as the Olympics. So yeah, the European Championship, Coup
- 8:04Speaker 3: of America, all that.
- 8:05Speaker 2: So they just send the other twenty threes to go
- 8:09Speaker 2: to the Olympics. Where's the women just do whatever women do,
- 8:15Speaker 2: which I have a new appreciation for c sections. Well, you're.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I don't think anything of you.
- 8:25Speaker 2: I think the doctor did. I can't love okay, So yeah,
- 8:31Speaker 2: that's why men's under twenty three.
- 8:36Speaker 1: The also Canadian.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I don't know why.
- 8:40Speaker 1: When I read that, it's how I want to say,
- 8:42Speaker 1: it's Canada and Germany. Also in basketball, the three teams
- 8:46Speaker 1: besides the USA that have come out.
- 8:50Speaker 3: I can't wait until the Canadians beat us in basketball.
- 8:55Speaker 1: SHA's Canadian?
- 8:56Speaker 2: Yeah, but just watching Lebron cry is my favorite thing.
- 9:01Speaker 1: That's funny. Shay was Shaye was on.
- 9:04Speaker 2: There was an article.
- 9:05Speaker 3: There was an article about everybody having to pass the
- 9:08Speaker 3: ball to Lebron because it's like his final Olympics and
- 9:11Speaker 3: they gotta make.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Him look good.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Well, this Sun play maybe next four years, and maybe
- 9:17Speaker 1: he's gonna wait to play with the Sun in the Olympics.
- 9:21Speaker 2: His son's even playing.
- 9:24Speaker 1: Gosh, that's bad. I'm sorry.
- 9:28Speaker 2: All right, So there's your Olympic minute. Twelve minutes. Olympic
- 9:31Speaker 2: twelve minutes. Is that we did?
- 9:32Speaker 1: We give him that much?
- 9:34Speaker 2: We give him twelve minutes?
- 9:35Speaker 1: Is okay? That's all right? All right, let's talk a
- 9:38Speaker 1: little bit. We'll move on to the NFL.
- 9:41Speaker 2: I know that we're doing the acc first. Now we'll
- 9:43Speaker 2: do that.
- 9:43Speaker 1: We'll just do all of our tidbits and then we'll
- 9:46Speaker 1: move right onto the big long ship.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Okay, NFL.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Obviously, this weekend we had the Hall of Fame Game,
- 9:52Speaker 1: first pre season of the Year.
- 9:57Speaker 2: First, Yeah, and your your your Bears.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Made a impressive showing the Bears the backup Bears, and
- 10:05Speaker 1: you know, I I like the way Ripping looked. I mean,
- 10:09Speaker 1: I'm not a big preseason guy.
- 10:11Speaker 3: I think that a lot of yeah and you and
- 10:13Speaker 3: Dex Dax was like, man, Ripping's really good.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I'm like his uncle was way better.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Yes, he did win a Super Bowl or went to
- 10:21Speaker 1: a Super Bowl.
- 10:21Speaker 2: Do you think it was Yeah, one with the Washington Redskins.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Redskins, but no, I think that the I'm just it's
- 10:33Speaker 1: boring to me to watch, especially the early ones.
- 10:36Speaker 2: To watch.
- 10:36Speaker 1: It's a it's a Hall of Fame game too, that's
- 10:38Speaker 1: kind of your presentation, your kickoff game. And then Bears
- 10:41Speaker 1: come out a million and go, no starters playing. It's like,
- 10:44Speaker 1: I understand that you don't start playing your starters a
- 10:47Speaker 1: little bit till the later games, but when's it just
- 10:49Speaker 1: gonna Let's let's just get rid of these these preseason games.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Add that eighteenth game to the NFL. Let the players
- 10:58Speaker 1: win their spots in practice like the coaches would want
- 11:00Speaker 1: to anyway. I mean, it's like, if you're playing secondary,
- 11:03Speaker 1: not in your shape currently right now, obviously, I don't
- 11:06Speaker 1: even know if you could be water boy unless the
- 11:08Speaker 1: water was high, you couldn't been over to have dropped
- 11:11Speaker 1: the cups or anyway. So no, what I'm saying is
- 11:14Speaker 1: is you're playing against You're playing against people that probably
- 11:18Speaker 1: aren't gonna make the team, so some people look better.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I just.
- 11:24Speaker 1: To me, it's a waste.
- 11:25Speaker 2: It is.
- 11:25Speaker 1: I mean, I think you could judge that stuff in
- 11:27Speaker 1: practice before real and then if you think they're gonna
- 11:32Speaker 1: make it, then then put them, you know, game, and
- 11:34Speaker 1: then move roster spots. Anyway, let's talk about the Hall
- 11:37Speaker 1: of Fame for twenty twenty four. There's really only one
- 11:42Speaker 1: guy I didn't know, and would you do a little
- 11:44Speaker 1: research on Randy Gardashar or Gratishar as I think how
- 11:49Speaker 1: that is pronounced. He's the He's the Bronco that went
- 11:53Speaker 1: in this year, Randy Gratishar. I had not heard much
- 11:57Speaker 1: about him. I really hadn't paid attention. But I want
- 11:59Speaker 1: to do a little history. But I want to talk
- 12:01Speaker 1: about Dwight Freeney, Devin Hester, Andre Johnson, Steve McMichael j
- 12:08Speaker 1: and uh Patrick Willis. So the Patrick Willis one statistically
- 12:15Speaker 1: looks good. Surprise me, he got in early as early
- 12:18Speaker 1: as he did. Julius Peppers was good. Steve McMichael obviously
- 12:22Speaker 1: we all know about his battle with als. That guy
- 12:24Speaker 1: should have been in the Hall of Fame when he
- 12:26Speaker 1: was healthy. It's just bullshit the NFL done in this way.
- 12:29Speaker 1: And I'll say that all the time. The guy is
- 12:31Speaker 1: third place all time defensive tackles sacks.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I am aware, you.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Know, And I think SAPs ahead of him. And who
- 12:38Speaker 1: is the other John Clayton? Is that the one from
- 12:41Speaker 1: the Seahawks defensive tackle? I think that's him. I think
- 12:45Speaker 1: it's Clayton and all time defensive tackle sack leaders because
- 12:53Speaker 1: you look at Dent and who was the other edge
- 12:55Speaker 1: on that team.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Uh, animal animal Hampton.
- 12:58Speaker 1: So you've got those two guys that they're the ones
- 13:01Speaker 1: that were getting the love from the outside, and then
- 13:03Speaker 1: you've got McMichael in the middle stopping about everything and
- 13:06Speaker 1: still getting sacks. But I think if I read that right,
- 13:09Speaker 1: it's it's defensive tackle sacks and I think he's third.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I think I think Gilbert's won, and I think SAPs
- 13:16Speaker 1: number two, if I'm not mistaken. Now that's it now,
- 13:20Speaker 1: he they are ends should be defensive tackles.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Well, this is Google's a I.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Probably should put defensive tackle position, but no, McMichael should
- 13:33Speaker 1: have got in a long time ago.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Defensive tackle is the most said here we go. He
- 13:41Speaker 2: was in the end. I don't know why they're not
- 13:49Speaker 2: putting them.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Maybe they're just doing defensive.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Line probably, but yeah, these guys are all defensive man.
- 14:03Speaker 1: That's how I always had him play. I mean they
- 14:07Speaker 1: were all ends.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Oh step yus. I'm not paying you any damn money, but.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Randy Gros talk about him.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I was born in fifty two, so I think he's
- 14:20Speaker 2: like my mom's age. He's old.
- 14:23Speaker 3: He's part of the Orange Crush defense playing in the Ohio
- 14:26Speaker 3: State Buckeyes.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Is a native of Ohio.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Uh.
- 14:31Speaker 2: He was a one time consensus and one time unanimous
- 14:34Speaker 2: All American. See, I don't care about his high school career.
- 14:39Speaker 2: He was under Woody Hayes. Okay, he's what and what
- 14:44Speaker 2: called him the best line.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I noticed he made he made. I think it was
- 14:47Speaker 1: a seven time Pro Bowl, which is pretty impressive for then, right, but.
- 14:53Speaker 2: He was sixth and heightsman voting in seventy three.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I hadn't heard of any of those other people.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Archie Griffin.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Yeah, he'll just be another forgotten Griffin.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Roosevelt Leaks, well.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Congratulations, he was.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Right behind him.
- 15:11Speaker 1: He was really the only one that I didn't know
- 15:13Speaker 1: because of just of the age. Would you say he
- 15:14Speaker 1: played in the eighties and in his nineties.
- 15:16Speaker 2: To the career he was drafted in seventy four.
- 15:18Speaker 1: Steve and Michael obviously you can watch all the highlights.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Patrick Willis surprised me and so okay, So the Devin
- 15:24Speaker 1: Hester argument so great, some of the best stats all time.
- 15:28Speaker 1: And I'm not dissing the guy and he deserves everything
- 15:30Speaker 1: he is. But a specialist, I mean, is he like
- 15:33Speaker 1: the first true punt or kickoff returner that's been in
- 15:38Speaker 1: the Yeah, he's.
- 15:39Speaker 2: The first true special.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Positional the special teams a special teams guy who's not
- 15:48Speaker 3: a kicker or a punter.
- 15:50Speaker 1: That's what I was going to kickers in the Hall
- 15:52Speaker 1: of Fame.
- 15:53Speaker 2: So he's the first special teams guy.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Though there's only five in the Hall of Fame for
- 15:57Speaker 1: kickers all the time. Can you name him?
- 16:00Speaker 3: Well, it's what's his nuts? That kicked in Atlanta? The
- 16:06Speaker 3: Swede Gary Anderson.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Morton, he was the he was the Saints kick forever,
- 16:14Speaker 1: he might have finished there. Gary Anderson was the one
- 16:17Speaker 1: that screwed the Vikings Ray guy. Obviously, there's wards named
- 16:23Speaker 1: after him, Lou Groza obviously wards against George Blanda and
- 16:28Speaker 1: Jan Stener Rude. I don't know who that is.
- 16:32Speaker 2: Jan could be.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Yeah, he's Norwegian. Sorry, yeah, thank you, Sean. I screwed that.
- 16:42Speaker 1: He's good.
- 16:43Speaker 2: That was.
- 16:44Speaker 1: He. He was the last one. But anyway, I thought
- 16:49Speaker 1: that was interesting that though it was good that he
- 16:51Speaker 1: got in. I just you don't see a lot of
- 16:52Speaker 1: those specialists get in, to be honest, but he was special.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Super Bowl, that Super Bowl you guys had, he ran
- 16:58Speaker 1: it back against the Colts was quite impressive in itself too.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I mean he had a he had a
- 17:06Speaker 2: great He had a great career as just being a returner.
- 17:08Speaker 3: And I know that they tried to use him a
- 17:09Speaker 3: bit as a corner and a bit as a wide receiver.
- 17:14Speaker 3: He really didn't like it. I think when he was
- 17:18Speaker 3: in Chicago he was more apt to do it for
- 17:21Speaker 3: Lovey Smith than when he went to Atlanta and they
- 17:24Speaker 3: tried to get him to do it. He really didn't
- 17:26Speaker 3: want to, just wanted to stay a pure returner.
- 17:28Speaker 1: He was a member of the twenty tens Decade Team
- 17:31Speaker 1: m HM, and he's one of the two return specialists
- 17:33Speaker 1: on the NFL All one hundred team, which is pretty impressive.
- 17:37Speaker 1: He opened the Super Bowl, like I said, against the
- 17:41Speaker 1: Colts with a ninety two yard kickoff return that's the
- 17:43Speaker 1: only time in history. And then in second NFL season,
- 17:47Speaker 1: returned four punts and two kickoffs for score with just nuts.
- 17:50Speaker 1: That's six and obviously a record. That's crazy. When McMichael
- 17:59Speaker 1: finished his career, he had the most tackles of most
- 18:01Speaker 1: sacks and Bear's history that at the time.
- 18:06Speaker 3: And uh, all right, so here's here's more of it
- 18:09Speaker 3: we were talking about. I know we're going back to it,
- 18:11Speaker 3: but here's you know, the mango McMichael. Here's a here's
- 18:14Speaker 3: a more comprehensive list of defensive tackle. So Bob Lilly
- 18:24Speaker 3: was number one, Me and Joe Green would be number two,
- 18:29Speaker 3: Merlin Olsen number three.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Now that was your talking. They're just ranking them right now.
- 18:35Speaker 1: They're not giving them a sack.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Total, right rand Randy White who was a white guy
- 18:41Speaker 3: for the Dallas Cowboys, Warren Sap, I mean, we'd have
- 18:46Speaker 3: to go through and look at these guys.
- 18:48Speaker 1: What's Warren SAPs stats? Real quick? Give me his his
- 18:51Speaker 1: stats right there?
- 18:53Speaker 2: One time Super Bowl champ voted seven Pro Bowls First Team,
- 19:01Speaker 2: six and a half sacks.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Yes, so Michael alone had ninety two and a half
- 19:07Speaker 1: sacks for the Bears and he played one more year
- 19:11Speaker 1: for the Packers. I don't know if he got any
- 19:12Speaker 1: of them.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Apparently he played for the Patriots too. I got John
- 19:21Speaker 2: Randalls stats real quick.
- 19:22Speaker 1: He's right there. He was the Seahawks, I believe, and it's.
- 19:28Speaker 2: There you go.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Thirty seven sacks. I think he's the leader. I think
- 19:32Speaker 1: he has the most defensive tackle sacks in an NFL.
- 19:36Speaker 1: That dude was unbelievable and ranked a bit low.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Yeah, well, like I said, this is this guy.
- 19:44Speaker 3: There's Marle congratulations.
- 19:47Speaker 1: The Hall of Fame staff. Yeah, the team, actually the
- 19:51Speaker 1: teammates all it was all players this year.
- 19:56Speaker 2: So I thought there was a coach winner that was
- 19:58Speaker 2: all players for an announcer.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Oh, I just got the list? Is it everybody else?
- 20:03Speaker 2: They unless unless that Gershon was.
- 20:08Speaker 1: All right? Anything else? Tyger Carole restructured his contract.
- 20:12Speaker 2: You gotta pay them, baby mam with more money.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Don Baby Roberts three or ninety million.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Nine kids now I've had I don't know how many
- 20:20Speaker 3: baby mamas.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Okay, that's that's.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Uh oh uh. Jaguars, we've Peterson's son tight.
- 20:29Speaker 1: End, probably should have long time ago.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Anything else on news Hopkins will not need need surgery.
- 20:34Speaker 1: It looks like Dante Foreman his injury and practice, uh
- 20:37Speaker 1: his neck injury. They caught him off the field to
- 20:39Speaker 1: him the hospital. Looks like all things are negative. He's
- 20:42Speaker 1: going to be fine.
- 20:43Speaker 2: So quick recovery, yes, hopefully, Yes.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Yeah, a lot of there's been a lot of weird
- 20:48Speaker 3: injuries in camps this year.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Well that's why we're gonna wait on our our fantasy draft,
- 20:56Speaker 1: just to wait and see what, you know, what happens
- 20:58Speaker 1: closer we get yeah, or anything else on the NFL.
- 21:03Speaker 1: A lot of contract talk right now. CD. Did CD
- 21:07Speaker 1: actually get a contract? I saw I saw a contract offer,
- 21:11Speaker 1: and I don't know if it's actually true. I think
- 21:13Speaker 1: it was.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I have not seen anything on him getting.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Because I know that right now that currently the DAK.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I know that this cool picture here with you could
- 21:29Speaker 2: show that Troy in the school red glasses.
- 21:33Speaker 1: I liked the glasses. Troy. I can't laugh, so cee Okay,
- 21:39Speaker 1: so CD and DAK have been into contract talks. That's
- 21:43Speaker 1: kind of looks like they've made an offer. They're kind
- 21:46Speaker 1: of going back and forth. Allegedly, rumors had come out
- 21:51Speaker 1: from Dallas camp that it was the for Dak, it
- 21:55Speaker 1: was the length of the term, not necessarily the money.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Looks like Dallas will probably try to offer him a
- 21:59Speaker 1: three or four year. Dak probably gonna want like a
- 22:01Speaker 1: six year or something like that.
- 22:04Speaker 2: That's your boys first round pick right there.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Yeah, it ain't gonna happen. He's gonna drop and then
- 22:12Speaker 1: so that's what we're waiting on there. I mean, that's
- 22:14Speaker 1: that's kind of been the big news for contracts. Anything
- 22:18Speaker 1: else on that.
- 22:18Speaker 2: You can think of, Well, no, not really.
- 22:21Speaker 1: The new kickoff rules were kind of a.
- 22:23Speaker 2: Bitch, Yeah, but we went through those.
- 22:25Speaker 3: If you have you ever watched the XFL USFL, you
- 22:29Speaker 3: were flaing with it.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Like the zones and you gotta catch it and that
- 22:31Speaker 1: type of stuff.
- 22:32Speaker 2: It's just nobody can move until the guy catches the ball.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Just seems boring, and it seems like the refs they're
- 22:39Speaker 1: trying to hold on.
- 22:40Speaker 2: They're trying to get rid of gunners, understand.
- 22:43Speaker 1: But it just seemed like that whole game. There was
- 22:45Speaker 1: a lot of penalties. The flow wasn't good. Even I
- 22:47Speaker 1: thought the refs were confused.
- 22:49Speaker 2: That's where they have preseason. Kenny, Yeah, whatever, again, they
- 22:55Speaker 2: should they should just teach.
- 22:57Speaker 1: They should just teach that they can't. That's what they
- 22:59Speaker 1: need to teach. All right, Oh you news Uh, I've
- 23:04Speaker 1: got to talk to Venables talk to the media today.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Very high on Tatum. The freshman running back Jackson. Oarlold
- 23:11Speaker 1: had give good reviews about said, he's much looking much
- 23:14Speaker 1: different than he did last year. Physically, he looks better
- 23:18Speaker 1: looks And obviously we are thinking the offensive line is
- 23:21Speaker 1: going to be the big issue there. We know it's
- 23:24Speaker 1: going to be the big issue.
- 23:26Speaker 2: What's going to happen in Texas.
- 23:28Speaker 1: But you know from words that has come out of that,
- 23:33Speaker 1: I mean Hickman for one, was s m u. He said,
- 23:36Speaker 1: it's gonna be tough to build that that offensive line,
- 23:38Speaker 1: he said, but we're ready. There is a lot of
- 23:43Speaker 1: starts in that group because they're bringing in some people
- 23:47Speaker 1: that have played, whether it was Hickman and s m
- 23:49Speaker 1: u and and some others. But uh, Dominique Williams for
- 23:55Speaker 1: the transfer from you said longomes and.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Got himself a job this week. Oh did he Yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 2: he's uh, he's with the Sunny Dikes in Yeah.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Joy. So anyway, that's the news that the figure you'd
- 24:12Speaker 1: like that, I do, I do know you love of course,
- 24:14Speaker 1: Billy Bowman on the Thorpe Billy, Yeah, Dana should be
- 24:16Speaker 1: a coordinator stat Billy Bowman on the Thorpe list, Gavin
- 24:22Speaker 1: Sawchuk on the Warflow Trophy. A lot of guys on
- 24:27Speaker 1: offensive line though. That's the where it's got to. That
- 24:29Speaker 1: is where it's got to be preseason pick number eight.
- 24:31Speaker 1: We've talked about that already. H we'll break down the
- 24:34Speaker 1: sec in the upcoming weeks of what we think. But
- 24:37Speaker 1: it is this month, twenty seven days. Oklahoma opens on
- 24:41Speaker 1: the thirtieth Temple on a Friday night.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Zero's coming up real fast, all right.
- 24:49Speaker 3: The other news Nebraska, Ohio, State, Alabama, Boost and I
- 24:52Speaker 3: L funds via practice admission.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Anything you can do to make up buck is what's
- 24:57Speaker 1: gonna happen.
- 24:57Speaker 2: That money. Oh, Trent Williams did you see him? But
- 25:02Speaker 2: oh you boy, Yeah, he's getting paid. I saw that
- 25:06Speaker 2: his Madden his Monon ranking went up too.
- 25:08Speaker 1: You know that A good story was talking about the
- 25:10Speaker 1: Cowboys earlier. It looks like Tyler Guiden's had a really
- 25:12Speaker 1: good uh preseason. Yes, looks like he could potentially come
- 25:16Speaker 1: right in and start. Now, my buddy Mark, he loves
- 25:22Speaker 1: beating ball and I think he's a hell of a coach.
- 25:25Speaker 1: His recruiting bothers me a bit. And and in the
- 25:28Speaker 1: moments like right now that we're not as talented as.
- 25:30Speaker 2: We should be, my buddy doll.
- 25:33Speaker 1: But but but you show, but he shows he can't
- 25:37Speaker 1: a gentleman.
- 25:37Speaker 2: He has an argument with this, my buddy doll, that
- 25:39Speaker 2: he's named Mark a lot.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Well, he thinks he's the greatest. And I said, well,
- 25:45Speaker 1: I think that other teams have sent more because you're
- 25:48Speaker 1: the greatest too, you know, I just I mean, I'm
- 25:50Speaker 1: not dissing Beadball. I just think that they're they're never
- 25:53Speaker 1: if you're that good, there never should be a year
- 25:55Speaker 1: that you concern yourself with that position, is my point.
- 25:58Speaker 1: You know, you shouldn't well all them graduate. You know,
- 26:00Speaker 1: we didn't lose a lot to the draft. I understand that,
- 26:02Speaker 1: but you should have them as.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Soon as You've got to remember that you came in
- 26:06Speaker 3: and you had to rebuild that line anyways.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I mean, so we've lost all that and
- 26:11Speaker 2: then we've got.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Favecci from North Texas.
- 26:13Speaker 2: And so went through.
- 26:16Speaker 3: You're constantly going through, and especially now with the transfer
- 26:18Speaker 3: portal and n I L you are always worried about
- 26:21Speaker 3: every position on the field line.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I just want some in.
- 26:27Speaker 1: I want some recruits that have been in his system
- 26:30Speaker 1: for more than just a fall in a spring, you
- 26:33Speaker 1: know what I mean?
- 26:34Speaker 2: Well, you know, but so in four years we'll have
- 26:36Speaker 2: to see that.
- 26:38Speaker 1: No, but a lot of these guys are portal guys.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Most up are most of the guys starting or portal guys.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Where's our incoming freshmen? That's what I wanted, and so
- 26:47Speaker 1: that's that's that's Mike, and that's always been Michael.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Well, then let's go ahead and just segue right into
- 26:51Speaker 2: the A C. C. Oh. Yeah, there does Dana Honkers
- 26:54Speaker 2: and Todd Graham go into Sunny Dyke's staff.
- 26:56Speaker 1: I like the Todd Graham addition too. I think he's
- 26:58Speaker 1: a really good coach. I mean I could see that
- 27:01Speaker 1: be an offensive and defensive coordinator coach right there. And
- 27:04Speaker 1: what are they just what are they doing? Go ahead
- 27:07Speaker 1: and click on that Shawn Seat are they analysts, creating
- 27:12Speaker 1: a spot analysts and advanced scouts.
- 27:15Speaker 2: Yes, so yeah, these guys will be his coaches in
- 27:20Speaker 2: a couple of years.
- 27:21Speaker 1: It's he seems older, Well he was young at Tulsa.
- 27:26Speaker 4: Then if you think about it, Okay, if you look
- 27:28Speaker 4: head coach at Rice Tulsa, Pitt, Arizona State, Hawaii, I think.
- 27:31Speaker 1: You are the price was one year, Pitt was one year.
- 27:34Speaker 2: You're gonna age.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Hawaii I think was one year or two because they
- 27:38Speaker 1: kicked him out fast.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I remember the Pitt one year. He really got
- 27:42Speaker 2: ran out.
- 27:43Speaker 1: No, I mean they had a good year. I mean
- 27:45Speaker 1: he took that Arizona State job and I still ye, yeah,
- 27:49Speaker 1: after Pitt. So that's the order to do that. I
- 27:51Speaker 1: don't know, and why he left Tulsa. For Pitt to
- 27:53Speaker 1: leave to Arizona State, to me, Pitt's a better job
- 27:56Speaker 1: in my opinion. Now, they don't, you know, I don't
- 27:59Speaker 1: think they have it on campus. I think they have
- 28:01Speaker 1: to play at Pittsburgh's, don't they.
- 28:02Speaker 2: I think there's some something weird, there's.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Some stuff up there that's not the greatest university I think.
- 28:06Speaker 1: I mean that fits his tough mentality. And then you
- 28:08Speaker 1: go to Arizona State and the money's there, but you
- 28:12Speaker 1: just ain't got the tradition.
- 28:15Speaker 2: Well you say they don't have traditions, they do have
- 28:17Speaker 2: a tradition in STDs.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Uh, Arizona State.
- 28:22Speaker 2: Yes, party school baby, get that? Get it all right, everybody.
- 28:28Speaker 1: So we go to the a CC Yep, got my pick.
- 28:31Speaker 2: I've got all your picture right here.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I know, but I kind of want to start changing
- 28:35Speaker 1: a little bit because I mean, I know who's gonna
- 28:37Speaker 1: win the a CEC. So I think we both well,
- 28:39Speaker 1: I don't know who do you got?
- 28:41Speaker 2: I did not That's what I should have done. It
- 28:43Speaker 2: looks like we have Florida State winning.
- 28:45Speaker 3: I do the ACC but we have uh, we have
- 28:49Speaker 3: SMU coming in at close.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Uh well, no, n C State also, I like, along
- 28:58Speaker 2: with Miami. Yeah, our consensus to win is Florida.
- 29:03Speaker 1: State, not by much. I think that everybody kind of
- 29:07Speaker 1: really likes Clemson too, as they should.
- 29:10Speaker 2: I mean, you've got to have Clemson underneath Miami and
- 29:12Speaker 2: n C State. Well, so Kate and under Tech. I know,
- 29:19Speaker 2: vaugh Tech. They're talking about Tek being.
- 29:21Speaker 1: Club Nick, the Kate Klubnick, the quarterback for and I
- 29:25Speaker 1: could be pronouncing that wrong. For Clemson. He was young
- 29:28Speaker 1: last year, I wasn't impressed as much. Miami, I think
- 29:33Speaker 1: is a make or break season for their coach.
- 29:37Speaker 2: And why am I not? Why?
- 29:39Speaker 1: Why am I strowing a blank on his name? Who
- 29:43Speaker 1: the coach of Miami? I can see his face? He
- 29:46Speaker 1: came from Oregon. Why am I just just not? Oh,
- 29:49Speaker 1: Mario Cristobal. Yeah, yeah, that's a make or break year
- 29:54Speaker 1: for him this year. I I truly believe.
- 29:57Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it has to be. Even though he came
- 29:58Speaker 3: over last year. It is definitely a maker last ye
- 30:01Speaker 3: year before.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I think they got Louisville a little high. They got Louisville.
- 30:04Speaker 1: This is the second, second or third year. It's Dan
- 30:07Speaker 1: Lannings for its second the second, but I think they
- 30:11Speaker 1: got Louisville a little high. But change of coaches. We
- 30:15Speaker 1: talked about that.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Yes, you had totally fore I did.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I did forget that Brom had came back to a
- 30:22Speaker 1: Brom that came.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Back to what's his bue?
- 30:25Speaker 1: And I think Brom came back Jeff.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Yes, Sorry, I'm a little uncomfortable. You're making me a
- 30:34Speaker 2: little you were making me.
- 30:38Speaker 1: But no, I think that well it is Jeff Brom.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Sorry for my.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Delay on that wins somehow, well, you must have been
- 30:49Speaker 1: on your pain killers when you made those picks. That's
- 30:53Speaker 1: not it's not gonna happen. So the teams I like
- 30:58Speaker 1: we talked about was. I like Florida State, I like Clemson,
- 31:01Speaker 1: like Miami. Even though Clemson I think is going to
- 31:04Speaker 1: struggle a little bit. N C State is a surprise,
- 31:07Speaker 1: could be a surprise. I also I like Virginia Tech.
- 31:10Speaker 1: I think that's a team that's going to do much
- 31:11Speaker 1: better than they did last year. S m U could
- 31:14Speaker 1: be there North Carolina losing quarterback.
- 31:16Speaker 2: Well, that's what we have, and that's what we have.
- 31:18Speaker 2: We have VA Tech.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Sneaking along with what was sean for so over under
- 31:27Speaker 1: right now on Clemson and.
- 31:30Speaker 2: Clemson. We both went under.
- 31:32Speaker 1: And Miami was nine and a half wins, which is high.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Clemson, we both went under. Florida State, we went over Miami.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we both went I should have went I
- 31:47Speaker 2: went under. You went over on Miami.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Oh really See. I didn't like their schedule at first,
- 31:51Speaker 1: but they opened at Florida and then Ball State USL wins, wins, wins,
- 32:00Speaker 1: Virginia Tech, but they've got him at home. California. Look
- 32:03Speaker 1: like a win Louisville. If they're playing better under Brahms
- 32:07Speaker 1: system by then that could be a fun game. They've
- 32:09Speaker 1: got Florida State at home. Duke is going to fall
- 32:12Speaker 1: down a little bit. I think Manny Diaz is a
- 32:15Speaker 1: new coach. I thought that was a weird hire. They
- 32:17Speaker 1: lost Elko to A and M. I think Manny Diaz
- 32:21Speaker 1: will be fired in two years. It's my prediction. Georgia
- 32:24Speaker 1: Tech is also a team that could surprise a few
- 32:27Speaker 1: people get some odd wins.
- 32:28Speaker 2: They'll beat wake Force, and I think they'll beat Syracuse.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Well because Georgia Tech finally did better than they did
- 32:34Speaker 3: the last thirty years.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Yes, yes, twenty years. When was the last time they
- 32:38Speaker 2: were good?
- 32:39Speaker 1: Yeah? Probably since uh Alvin Calvin Johnson was there right.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Well, we're what's his nuts from Oklahoma moved to Yeah.
- 32:50Speaker 1: To who's uh? Who is still the running back of
- 32:55Speaker 1: the coach at Texas? Don't forget that?
- 32:57Speaker 2: Oh what a trader? Cool trader anyway, Brent Key.
- 33:02Speaker 1: I think it was an excellent higher for Tech did
- 33:05Speaker 1: a little better last year. ACC is gonna be fun
- 33:10Speaker 1: because ACC is gonna be fun because it's.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Gonna be more Well, they're on the version of implosion.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Maybe I don't think that's gonna happen right now, but
- 33:17Speaker 1: you're gonna look at the teams that are on that
- 33:19Speaker 1: bottom level. There's a few teams that really You look
- 33:22Speaker 1: at Tony Elliott at Virginia, he has got to get
- 33:26Speaker 1: something going wells College. You know, Tony left the same
- 33:30Speaker 1: year as Brent. They're both entering in the third year.
- 33:32Speaker 1: So Clemson lost their offensive defense coordinator. Brent obviously inherited
- 33:36Speaker 1: a better team, there's no doubt about that, even though
- 33:38Speaker 1: we kicked off most of them. But he's done a
- 33:40Speaker 1: better job. It's a better Blue Bud. But Virginia should
- 33:43Speaker 1: be doing more. Matt Brown at Caroline. It's gonna be
- 33:46Speaker 1: interested to see what they do for quarterback.
- 33:48Speaker 3: The ACC actually seems to do fun with the quarterback.
- 33:51Speaker 3: The he doesn't have the stress that he had in Texas.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Oh that's a fact. Well he was there before. You
- 33:58Speaker 1: know who the uh A D is? There is the
- 34:02Speaker 1: guy from Tulsa which is now Craig Now the A D.
- 34:06Speaker 1: I just can't Those.
- 34:08Speaker 2: People aren't important. They just like you. They do business.
- 34:11Speaker 1: But he came from that and I think they like
- 34:13Speaker 1: just Mac. I mean, he makes some money, and and
- 34:15Speaker 1: it's like party.
- 34:16Speaker 2: On, party on.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Huh, his party on here first. So we do have
- 34:22Speaker 3: our body, we do have our basement dwellers. Boston College,
- 34:26Speaker 3: we've got You've got one win, I've got two.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Yeah, and I feel bad because they're over. Under was
- 34:31Speaker 1: four and a half, and I thought maybe I missed something.
- 34:33Speaker 2: We didn't.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Did we give Stanford more wins than Boston College?
- 34:36Speaker 2: Hold on, I'm trying to find Stanford.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Uh is lower?
- 34:41Speaker 3: I gave him the same. I gave him two. You
- 34:44Speaker 3: gave him two, So you did give Stanford one more win.
- 34:48Speaker 3: That makes sense over Boston College.
- 34:51Speaker 1: That definitely makes sense.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Now.
- 34:52Speaker 3: See I gave Boston College a random win at Michigan
- 34:55Speaker 3: State because Michigan State is in turmoil.
- 34:59Speaker 1: That's what you do. But new coach State, it's all new.
- 35:02Speaker 2: I think they're gonna be a little better than but
- 35:05Speaker 2: it's still it's all new.
- 35:06Speaker 3: They've lost a lot of players, they've lost a lot.
- 35:09Speaker 3: I don't know if you remember the Mel Tucker years. Well,
- 35:12Speaker 3: they had that one good year and then.
- 35:14Speaker 1: They signed him to Florida State.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Miami new quarterback cal cal had six and a half
- 35:20Speaker 2: and we gave him three and.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Four were talking about transfers. Really, yes, I agree with that,
- 35:24Speaker 1: but transfers. You know, Clemson was the only program in
- 35:28Speaker 1: the a SEC that didn't land one single transfer player.
- 35:30Speaker 1: They had zero. Now DJ State, he's at Florida State.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Cameron Ward left Washington State after their coach left and
- 35:40Speaker 1: he ended up in Miami, which that might be the
- 35:42Speaker 1: best quarterback Miami's had in a very very long time.
- 35:48Speaker 1: Washington State coach No, no.
- 35:50Speaker 2: The quarterback they got, now many many do. This is
- 35:54Speaker 2: a kid's name Van Dyke. I don't know who was
- 35:59Speaker 2: that dyke from where Miami?
- 36:03Speaker 1: Oh good, he might still be there there. Maybe he
- 36:06Speaker 1: left to the I mean they're allot he was still there.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Also in C State brought in Coastal Carolina's Grace and McCall.
- 36:12Speaker 1: McCall was really good, but you remember he got hurt
- 36:15Speaker 1: last year. Someone else came in. I think that's going
- 36:18Speaker 1: to be a big addition to inn C State. Who's
- 36:21Speaker 1: one of my sleeper teams in the ac le.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Colin McCord came.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Uh. Colin McCord went to Ohio State, and I forgot
- 36:30Speaker 1: that Malik Murphy from Texas. That kid can move if
- 36:34Speaker 1: he can keep the mistakes. He's also he went to
- 36:37Speaker 1: Duke so Manny Dias gets that.
- 36:40Speaker 2: Guy Vandyker.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Colum Accord from Ohio State went to UH and and
- 36:50Speaker 1: and Syracuse says a new a new coach. So it's possible.
- 36:55Speaker 2: Like I said that, they have a really easy schedule.
- 37:00Speaker 1: That's the deal, is what you What we really broke
- 37:02Speaker 1: down was the schedule, and it there is some it's
- 37:06Speaker 1: up when we get to the a CEC. We'll talk
- 37:08Speaker 1: about it there. No, I mean, sorry, SEC. There is
- 37:11Speaker 1: a big difference as far as.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Oh Van Dekwan to the Badgers.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Oh okay, also with Tyree Walker, and we'll talk about
- 37:19Speaker 1: him as.
- 37:19Speaker 2: We the big So yeah, we we have our base
- 37:26Speaker 2: for dig it's about our top teams. N C State,
- 37:31Speaker 2: Florida State. Now they don't do.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Divisions anymore, right, they got rid of Everybody's done with
- 37:35Speaker 3: divisions in.
- 37:36Speaker 2: College football, is what I'm saying. Uh Yeah, A a C,
- 37:41Speaker 2: A a C is done. ACC doesn't have any big twelve, doesn't.
- 37:46Speaker 1: Yeah, we're done with yeah, because I think what they're
- 37:49Speaker 1: wanting now is they're just wanting every of the best
- 37:50Speaker 1: two teams to get in. Everybody. So let's we miss
- 37:55Speaker 1: something is there some other group that doesn't.
- 37:57Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, everybody seems.
- 37:59Speaker 1: To have gotten of that's good.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Gotten rid of East well hold on.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Yes, those pesky sun belters.
- 38:08Speaker 2: Sun belters, we forgot about the pack too. We don't care.
- 38:15Speaker 2: Nobody's covering that. But yeah, everybody else.
- 38:19Speaker 1: Who is covering that, I don't even know what they're doing.
- 38:24Speaker 1: It's so ridiculous.
- 38:25Speaker 2: They're playing the majority of their their games in the
- 38:28Speaker 2: Mountain West.
- 38:29Speaker 1: So so it comes out Florida State, Clemson not leaving
- 38:32Speaker 1: currently right now, but want to really bad and everyone
- 38:35Speaker 1: knows that.
- 38:36Speaker 2: It's going to Carolina.
- 38:39Speaker 1: And who's the other one, who's the thing?
- 38:45Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot, but so we so for our
- 38:47Speaker 2: top is is doubly Florida State.
- 38:50Speaker 1: On Florida State going Clemson second, and then I think
- 38:53Speaker 1: we liked, uh well.
- 38:55Speaker 2: No, we we've got Clemson like fourth.
- 38:57Speaker 1: Oh that's right, that's right. We we did pick.
- 39:00Speaker 2: We got s m U law Tech. I've got Syracuse
- 39:04Speaker 2: because they're easy get in C State would would probably
- 39:09Speaker 2: be a definite numb too. Virginia Miami's not Miami is
- 39:13Speaker 2: not far behind any time. Yeah, we're we're looking at
- 39:16Speaker 2: a hard year for Dukes. I think the pressure gets
- 39:19Speaker 2: to Cal and Stanford. Huge travel schedules.
- 39:23Speaker 3: I mean you've got to go to Auburn and then
- 39:27Speaker 3: turn around and you know Florida State, you're going to
- 39:30Speaker 3: pitt You're going.
- 39:31Speaker 2: All the way to Wake, You're going.
- 39:32Speaker 3: Coast to coast Stanford. You know, they've got Syracuse to
- 39:38Speaker 3: go to, then Clemson right after that, and then Notre
- 39:42Speaker 3: Dame and then go to in C State and then
- 39:45Speaker 3: they you know, they.
- 39:46Speaker 4: Get cushy schedule. Last two games with Cal and San
- 39:50Speaker 4: Jose State.
- 39:52Speaker 1: What is the shawn? So that the bottom two feeders.
- 39:55Speaker 2: We had Stanford and Stanford, Boston College, Cal and Wake Forest.
- 40:05Speaker 2: So that's that's pretty much who we see in the basement.
- 40:08Speaker 2: And I said Virginia. You said Virginia's taking seven?
- 40:12Speaker 1: Yeah, would you pick?
- 40:13Speaker 2: I picked him at three?
- 40:15Speaker 1: Okay, So let's talk about that schedule.
- 40:17Speaker 3: Well, they start with Richmond, the Richmond Spiders, and then
- 40:22Speaker 3: I gave him a loss at wake Forest, where you
- 40:24Speaker 3: gave him a win.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I think Wake is a bottom and then
- 40:28Speaker 1: we forgot about Wake.
- 40:30Speaker 3: Right, and then they lose to Maryland h uh. And
- 40:33Speaker 3: then they go to Coastal Carolina and we said they
- 40:36Speaker 3: got to win there. They get a win at Boston College.
- 40:39Speaker 3: Now you said they gotta win at Louisville, and I said,
- 40:41Speaker 3: they got a loss at Louisville.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's possible. Louisville could be much better than
- 40:48Speaker 1: I said.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Loss at Clemson.
- 40:49Speaker 3: You said lost at Clemson that you said they would
- 40:52Speaker 3: win in North Carolina.
- 40:55Speaker 1: Yes, I did.
- 40:56Speaker 3: And I said they'd lose that game, and we both
- 40:59Speaker 3: said they we bust said they lose Notre Dame. But
- 41:02Speaker 3: then you said they were gonna win the s m
- 41:03Speaker 3: U game, and I said they're gonna lose.
- 41:06Speaker 2: That's possible, so not too far off right. So I
- 41:10Speaker 2: went one one way, you went the other.
- 41:12Speaker 1: I don't. I just something about that team. They looked
- 41:15Speaker 1: better as they I think, And I could be wrong,
- 41:18Speaker 1: am I I thought they I thought they.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Looked better, and he's wrong because he's the more on.
- 41:25Speaker 1: I just I thought they looked better towards the end
- 41:27Speaker 1: of the year. We'll tell you right now though, By golly, yeah,
- 41:32Speaker 1: lost five, four to five. My all eyes are wrong, man.
- 41:34Speaker 1: They just beat Duke. They sucked. Yeah, they didn't have,
- 41:39Speaker 1: but Miami was overtime. Louisville was close.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Yeah, but once he got left on that team.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Boston College was a close loss. N C State was
- 41:48Speaker 1: three points, James Madison was one point. I mean that
- 41:52Speaker 1: that was a lot to be from two wins to
- 41:54Speaker 1: four to five in just a few points, obviously, like
- 41:56Speaker 1: you was two.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Years ago, James James.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Yeah, well, hell, maybe I'm wrong, but it's a rare
- 42:07Speaker 1: only three wins the year before. Man, man, oh man,
- 42:13Speaker 1: I mean that. But he's kind of a make or
- 42:15Speaker 1: break year. Two third year, he's gonna have to win.
- 42:18Speaker 2: He's not having the same success that Brent is.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Well we'll see, I mean Brent.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Undefeated, massively undefeated. All right, we'll talk about that. Yeah,
- 42:32Speaker 2: what is our next one gonna be?
- 42:34Speaker 1: So we're gonna we're gonna pall in two days. We're
- 42:36Speaker 1: gonna run, We're gonna run back and we'll probably I
- 42:38Speaker 1: think we should do the Are we not doing the
- 42:43Speaker 1: A C C A C.
- 42:45Speaker 2: We only talked about just doing Tulsa.
- 42:46Speaker 1: Okay, we could do that because there's nine hundred teams.
- 42:49Speaker 2: So we've got two in the twelve. The SEC gonna
- 42:52Speaker 2: go do the big No, do the Big ten, next
- 42:55Speaker 2: Big ten, Big ten Sunday, and.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Then we're gonna do the let's do this.
- 43:00Speaker 2: You know those picks will be drugged pis what those
- 43:03Speaker 2: will be drug picks.
- 43:04Speaker 1: So Sunday we'll do the Big ten.
- 43:06Speaker 2: I'll beller I.
- 43:07Speaker 1: Next, we'll do the preview the Big ten. So we're
- 43:09Speaker 1: mostly in agreement that Florida State is gonna win the
- 43:13Speaker 1: mostly and Big ten next and Sunday and what's the
- 43:18Speaker 1: other one. Let's do NFL as we get into tonight,
- 43:21Speaker 1: we're gonna preview.
- 43:21Speaker 2: The We're gonna go.
- 43:23Speaker 1: To the South South. Okay, NFC South or NFL.
- 43:26Speaker 2: South, NFL South, so on said Sunday.
- 43:29Speaker 1: Sunday, Tampa first place already, just gonna predict that right
- 43:33Speaker 1: now on Mondayday, Sunday today, Saturday?
- 43:37Speaker 2: No oh yeah, thank you.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Friday okay, all right, here we go.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Let's move on.
- 43:42Speaker 1: Ready, you're ready to do this? Which you want to do?
- 43:44Speaker 2: What? I'm sorry? What? What does it feel like to you?
- 43:46Speaker 1: It feels great?
- 43:48Speaker 2: Does it for me? It's forty seven minutes in and
- 43:51Speaker 2: I am very uncomfortable?
- 43:52Speaker 1: So which one you want to do? Uh?
- 43:54Speaker 3: Well, AFC, we're gonna go to NF We're going to
- 43:58Speaker 3: the Bears.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Bears where go you.
- 44:02Speaker 3: Know where we're going this was this was our funnest.
- 44:07Speaker 3: This was actually this was our funnest most Thus, well, no,
- 44:13Speaker 3: we had a lot of fun doing these picks, and.
- 44:16Speaker 1: I've changed my mind. I want to change all my picks.
- 44:19Speaker 1: So I don't feel confident in JJ anymore. So I
- 44:22Speaker 1: had I.
- 44:23Speaker 2: So we want to.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Talk about the well, then hold on, let's because because
- 44:27Speaker 1: it's hard to read a board, let's just talk about
- 44:28Speaker 1: the North. Let's talk about the the overenders on that. No, okay,
- 44:33Speaker 1: let's talk about the overender wins for the Norman. Detroit
- 44:36Speaker 1: was ten ten and a half, Green Bay was nine
- 44:38Speaker 1: and a half, Chicago eight and a half, Minnesota seven
- 44:40Speaker 1: a half looks to be one of the closest divisions
- 44:43Speaker 1: in the NFL. Now, I have always said.
- 44:47Speaker 2: By far, both norths are.
- 44:49Speaker 1: We'll be talking about the North a little bit later.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Both north are the hardest. That's right.
- 44:54Speaker 2: So, uh, we.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Picked guys are winning the nf NFL preseason.
- 45:00Speaker 2: We got thank you.
- 45:02Speaker 3: So we picked we picked Minnesota to finish last in UH.
- 45:06Speaker 2: In that.
- 45:07Speaker 3: Now there's a discrepancy because well, we had Zach with
- 45:11Speaker 3: us to pick these uh I picked them with three games.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Zach picked one game winner and you picked seven game winners.
- 45:18Speaker 1: Well, they're they're over under seven and a half. So
- 45:21Speaker 1: I'm still on the under.
- 45:22Speaker 2: They're still on the under.
- 45:23Speaker 1: So I can claim that when they only win two
- 45:24Speaker 1: or three. I'm just letting you know that was a
- 45:27Speaker 1: betting money thing.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Yeah, but it's still that you picked seven wins for them.
- 45:31Speaker 1: I did. And then I've I've heard you know. I. Well,
- 45:35Speaker 1: their defense is not bad. Okay, They've upgraded their running
- 45:40Speaker 1: game with Jones. I've talked about.
- 45:42Speaker 2: That if you stay healthy.
- 45:45Speaker 1: They signed Sam Darnold one year tending and we all
- 45:47Speaker 1: laughed that he would start under too.
- 45:49Speaker 2: Dax is seled off by that guy.
- 45:51Speaker 1: JJ is gonna eventually be starting. They still have one
- 45:55Speaker 1: of the best wide receivers and tight ends in the
- 45:56Speaker 1: whole NFL.
- 45:57Speaker 2: They do.
- 45:59Speaker 1: You know that the lines not bad now. The problem
- 46:03Speaker 1: is is Mickey Blackburn tore his knee. He's out. They
- 46:07Speaker 1: had the poor unfortunate rookie that passed away in the
- 46:10Speaker 1: car crash for them that probably would have played.
- 46:12Speaker 2: Significantly significant amount.
- 46:15Speaker 1: And the defense will be the leader of the team. Obviously,
- 46:18Speaker 1: they're gonna have to be, because you're gonna be starting
- 46:20Speaker 1: after game two or three, you're gonna be starting a
- 46:23Speaker 1: rookie quarterback hands now. But I think Sean, what was
- 46:29Speaker 1: it that millions? I think was that their pickup? Then
- 46:34Speaker 1: they get the Millon's guy from in the draft, which
- 46:37Speaker 1: I really liked his pick.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Oh, I don't remember drafts.
- 46:42Speaker 4: Sorry, those are still yesterday.
- 46:47Speaker 2: Just remember JJ McCarthy.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Well, and and we know that now. Kevin O'Connell he
- 46:53Speaker 1: is a not a quarterback whisperer, but he is a
- 46:56Speaker 1: quarterback coach, so he's an offensive guy that helps you
- 46:59Speaker 1: still have justin Jefferson got Dallas some some Vegas Prognostic
- 47:09Speaker 1: got them at six and a half, so it's it's
- 47:11Speaker 1: kind of one of those deals.
- 47:13Speaker 2: They got Walter rails Off. It'sive tackle from Oklahoma.
- 47:16Speaker 1: I like that. Yes, they don't. They don't have a
- 47:19Speaker 1: lot of picks, but I thought Dallas Turner was a
- 47:21Speaker 1: good pick. I mean they try. I think they traded
- 47:23Speaker 1: up to get hit and I didn't think there's what
- 47:27Speaker 1: was their schedule strength, Shawn, I didn't look at that.
- 47:29Speaker 1: That was one thing that I looked in forever. We've
- 47:34Speaker 1: seen so many.
- 47:37Speaker 3: I know it's it's it's easy enough that they should
- 47:41Speaker 3: win the seven games that you have them for, but they're.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Not potentially Well, I just I'm gonna go over a
- 47:45Speaker 1: few games that you disagreed with me on. You know,
- 47:49Speaker 1: we both picked the Giants as a win. I picked
- 47:53Speaker 1: the Where did I pick them to win at again? Oh,
- 47:57Speaker 1: there we go. I picked them to beat Arizona and
- 48:00Speaker 1: I picked him to beat Atlanta. I picked him because
- 48:02Speaker 1: I thought that was a We both picked that, and
- 48:06Speaker 1: then and then I thought I thought they'd beat Chicago
- 48:08Speaker 1: at the end of the year, and I thought they'd
- 48:09Speaker 1: split with Green Bay, so that would have been seven
- 48:13Speaker 1: wins for me, right, and obviously beating the Giants in
- 48:17Speaker 1: game one, So I still think there's a chance I
- 48:20Speaker 1: can see them slipping. You know what, JJ is gonna
- 48:22Speaker 1: have to do that. He didn't have to do a
- 48:24Speaker 1: lot developed quickly. He's just gonna have to throw the ball.
- 48:27Speaker 1: He didn't have to do lot yes, quick release, no mistakes.
- 48:30Speaker 1: And we've seen in some of the practices and interceptions
- 48:32Speaker 1: and stuff that that that looked real good. So we
- 48:38Speaker 1: have them at fourth. We both we all we both
- 48:41Speaker 1: concurred Minnesota will be fourth. I'm going no playoffs, correct,
- 48:47Speaker 1: all right? We move on to the third place team.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Chicago Bears.
- 48:51Speaker 3: Now, I know there's a lot of hype. They've got
- 48:53Speaker 3: an eight and a half point spread. Uh I picked
- 48:58Speaker 3: him seven, You picked him six, and Zach picked him five.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Okay, so over under them was eight and a half.
- 49:04Speaker 1: I think we all picked them under. Now, I don't
- 49:07Speaker 1: think it's going to be because I mean, you look
- 49:09Speaker 1: at you put a quarterback on that team that's not
- 49:13Speaker 1: a freshman.
- 49:13Speaker 2: This is when you have a rookie.
- 49:18Speaker 1: So when you have a rookie, So you've got Keenan Allen, obviously,
- 49:23Speaker 1: you've got Swift, You've got DJ Moore, Yes, so that's
- 49:25Speaker 1: all the offense.
- 49:27Speaker 2: So then what are you running back Swift?
- 49:30Speaker 1: So then do you fix did you fix the defense enough?
- 49:33Speaker 1: And then what does Caleb do?
- 49:35Speaker 2: What? Yeah? And what what's Caylen gonna do?
- 49:37Speaker 1: Now? Is quarterback? Now, he's not gonna be able to
- 49:39Speaker 1: run everywhere?
- 49:40Speaker 3: Can he know we've already seen that. Can he with
- 49:45Speaker 3: Justin Field's trying to run everywhere?
- 49:47Speaker 1: Can he not make mistakes? Throw fast? Don't let the
- 49:51Speaker 1: game be to one?
- 49:52Speaker 2: Is gonna have to let Montes sweat stop hitting him
- 49:54Speaker 2: in practice?
- 49:56Speaker 1: That is true, And I forgot they picked up him too,
- 49:58Speaker 1: so they've improved their defense everywhere that that the team.
- 50:02Speaker 2: Team, the team should be a playoff team.
- 50:04Speaker 1: It should be I think, I think, I think I
- 50:09Speaker 1: think they're right below it. And also I don't think
- 50:11Speaker 1: it's so screw Green. I think it's not necessarily unfair.
- 50:15Speaker 1: But I want to talk about let's go Chicago's schedule.
- 50:18Speaker 1: We picked Tennessee win, Houston loss, Indianapolis loss. I think
- 50:23Speaker 1: Richardson's an All star. The Rams we both picked lost.
- 50:26Speaker 1: We beat Carolina. I said they beat Jacksonville. I'm not
- 50:30Speaker 1: a fan. You picked the loss. We both picked Washington
- 50:32Speaker 1: and loss. We'll talk about how much we love Washington
- 50:35Speaker 1: later when we play that. And then we've got Arizona
- 50:40Speaker 1: both wins. No, I think I had Yeah wins, and
- 50:44Speaker 1: then also New England wins. We split. I split with
- 50:48Speaker 1: Green Bay, beat Minnesota and I split with Minnesota. Obviously
- 50:53Speaker 1: lose to San Francisco, lose both the Detroit something something different.
- 50:57Speaker 1: I said they beat Seattle. Some pick they said they win.
- 51:00Speaker 1: And then you've got Green Bay. So it's not necessarily
- 51:03Speaker 1: just a product of Caleb. You know, I give ship.
- 51:06Speaker 1: I'm I'm kind of interested to see what he's going
- 51:08Speaker 1: to do.
- 51:09Speaker 2: Can see can the team save him? And is the question?
- 51:12Speaker 1: But he's got enough talent around him. We'll see what
- 51:15Speaker 1: the offensive line does.
- 51:16Speaker 2: A massive amount of talent here.
- 51:19Speaker 1: Is the kicker, though, is can the defense keep up?
- 51:21Speaker 1: And you are playing Detroit and Green Bay twice? That's
- 51:26Speaker 1: potential four losses out of eighteen or seventeen games right there,
- 51:31Speaker 1: you know.
- 51:32Speaker 2: So you might just start off.
- 51:34Speaker 1: That's almost a quarter of your guy, it's almost a
- 51:36Speaker 1: quarter of games.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Start yourself off oh and four, and then say, hey,
- 51:39Speaker 2: can we win out of this?
- 51:41Speaker 1: But I love the offense, and I think the offense
- 51:42Speaker 1: can be killer. It's just can the defense keep up
- 51:45Speaker 1: with everybody in the NFC North that is so good
- 51:49Speaker 1: on offense.
- 51:49Speaker 2: It's true.
- 51:50Speaker 1: You know, Detroit and in Great Bay, Okay, all right,
- 51:53Speaker 1: second place Bay, they're over unders nine and a half.
- 51:56Speaker 1: I think we've got him both going over. Nope, no, no, I.
- 52:00Speaker 4: We both have them under. I got nine wins, you
- 52:03Speaker 4: got eight. When you have nine wins, have eight.
- 52:06Speaker 1: I might have to look over that again because I
- 52:07Speaker 1: am in love with Jordan lost.
- 52:09Speaker 2: Oh my god, no, kiddy, no, there's no reason why.
- 52:14Speaker 1: I called it last year now he's the highest paid
- 52:17Speaker 1: per year quarter and he's.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Going to be injured.
- 52:19Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean I liked the guy. I
- 52:21Speaker 1: called it last year, the one guy.
- 52:23Speaker 2: What happens when you pay a quarterback in the NFL?
- 52:26Speaker 4: Joe Burrow got paid, got injured, Dak Prescott got paid,
- 52:29Speaker 4: got injured.
- 52:29Speaker 1: There's one that doesn't hadn't got injured yet they got paid.
- 52:33Speaker 2: Well, it's it's not bruck Purdy my homes.
- 52:35Speaker 1: He hadn't got paid. I heard he's like feeling like
- 52:37Speaker 1: six picks in practice? Or is that what it is?
- 52:41Speaker 2: We just got married, Yes, I forgot about that. Stop
- 52:45Speaker 2: getting married. I mean you'd be uh, let me.
- 52:49Speaker 4: See how I can adjust that because oh god, Okay,
- 52:52Speaker 4: Philly lost Indianapolis when yeah, you have Tennessee, When Minnesota?
- 52:59Speaker 2: When l A ram Arizona? When Houston Jacksonville?
- 53:07Speaker 1: When is that Jacksonville?
- 53:11Speaker 2: Jacksonville? Detroit?
- 53:13Speaker 1: But split?
- 53:16Speaker 3: Did I have Detroit and the losses?
- 53:20Speaker 1: I can see that Chicago. I almost picked Detroit going undefeated.
- 53:22Speaker 2: But anyway, Chicago, Chicago win both win both? Okay? Uh?
- 53:28Speaker 2: San Francisco, Miami win Detroit, Seattle? When New Orleans? When Minnesota?
- 53:38Speaker 1: Did I split them you split loss, yeah, and that
- 53:42Speaker 1: could be the Chicago win. So that could be the
- 53:45Speaker 1: splits that Minnesota. If they win both, that could get
- 53:47Speaker 1: them over the hunt. I just I like Green Bay.
- 53:50Speaker 1: I think they make the playoffs. I think under I know,
- 53:52Speaker 1: but I think they I think they make I think
- 53:54Speaker 1: they make the playoffs in the NFC.
- 53:56Speaker 2: I told you they'll be fighting for New Orleans. They
- 53:59Speaker 2: will be fighting with Sean No. I just I did
- 54:03Speaker 2: a pick. I did the pick, and they are both
- 54:05Speaker 2: within a game of each other.
- 54:07Speaker 4: I know, I said going into the playoffs, they will
- 54:09Speaker 4: be competingmer They're going to be competing with them, just
- 54:13Speaker 4: like last year when everybody was in that trash, that
- 54:16Speaker 4: trash heap of everybody was like, Okay, Philly and San
- 54:20Speaker 4: Francisco are going to win.
- 54:22Speaker 2: We already do that. Now, what is the trash that's
- 54:25Speaker 2: left at the end of it? Oh, in Detroit, they're
- 54:27Speaker 2: all going to win. What's the trash that's left. I
- 54:31Speaker 2: have to sit here like this.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Well, No, I mean, I think it's it's one of
- 54:33Speaker 1: those deals that that I think that the Saints potentially
- 54:36Speaker 1: could be one of the worst teams in the league
- 54:40Speaker 1: with a lot of talent that they have.
- 54:41Speaker 2: Well, I got that too, But at the same time.
- 54:44Speaker 1: Because I had them seven wins, am I on the
- 54:46Speaker 1: top of the bottom?
- 54:47Speaker 2: You agreed that?
- 54:49Speaker 1: Look okay, So I had them at eight wins. So
- 54:51Speaker 1: I think I had everybody in the NFC South, which
- 54:53Speaker 1: we'll talk about next week about eight, nine and eight
- 54:57Speaker 1: except Tampa fourteen and three.
- 54:59Speaker 2: Do we even need to get to Detroit. We've all
- 55:01Speaker 2: gave him fourteen wins. Love Detroit. We gave them fourteen.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Ten and a half was their sailing definitely over. You know,
- 55:07Speaker 1: we're no money sharks here, but bet the over, yes,
- 55:12Speaker 1: and the schedule team the schedule sets up.
- 55:14Speaker 2: I don't know who they've lost. They've actually gained better.
- 55:17Speaker 1: Than they did. They've gotten better.
- 55:18Speaker 2: Yeah, they've gained.
- 55:19Speaker 1: They got Carlton Davis got a trade from Tampa Bay.
- 55:23Speaker 2: They might have issues at cornerbacky. I don't see that.
- 55:26Speaker 1: They drafted the Arnold guy. I think he's from Bama,
- 55:30Speaker 1: and then he got the rich the Rakestraw guy from
- 55:34Speaker 1: rich Missouri Secondary. That's what they needed help on. That
- 55:38Speaker 1: was obviously all the coaches stayed.
- 55:40Speaker 2: That's where you got them in the big.
- 55:44Speaker 1: And then what they really needed they need Jamison Williams.
- 55:46Speaker 1: Williams to be that second wide receiver. I think because
- 55:50Speaker 1: they're missing someone. I'm on Saint Brown. They need that
- 55:53Speaker 1: second the third guy. Of course they got what's the
- 55:56Speaker 1: tight end your buddy? Uh not product?
- 55:59Speaker 2: But what did you say product?
- 56:01Speaker 1: You look like it's close to product Laporta. There we go,
- 56:05Speaker 1: and that guy's up and coming one of the best.
- 56:08Speaker 1: It was closed, but he's one of the best.
- 56:10Speaker 2: And he was a rookie last year.
- 56:11Speaker 1: He's one of the best tight ends already.
- 56:13Speaker 2: I picked him up, I know.
- 56:15Speaker 1: And so no, I think Detroit Detroit got they had
- 56:19Speaker 1: good drafts, Alabama secondary, Missouri secondary, that Ray.
- 56:24Speaker 2: Straws Missouri secondary.
- 56:27Speaker 1: No, he was actually a good a really good player,
- 56:29Speaker 1: really good. We're walking and now we're walking in to
- 56:31Speaker 1: see what Missouri is gonna do. Later we'll talk about
- 56:33Speaker 1: that preview coming up, but.
- 56:37Speaker 2: It's in my eye.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Would you have Matt I had him fourteen to three?
- 56:41Speaker 2: We all had him fourteen.
- 56:42Speaker 1: We all agreed on the same Yep, the losses I
- 56:45Speaker 1: don't know.
- 56:45Speaker 2: I don't know that we agreed on the same team,
- 56:47Speaker 2: but we all agreed the same number.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Sorry, so we both had fourteen seats just go through
- 56:51Speaker 1: their losses.
- 56:51Speaker 2: Well, Zach took Zach took a loss of the Rams.
- 56:55Speaker 1: He's a Rams love affair.
- 56:56Speaker 2: You took a loss at Dallas because it was at Dallas, right.
- 57:00Speaker 3: I gave my loss at Yeah, I gave my loss
- 57:02Speaker 3: against Jacksonville. And just because their bye weeks so.
- 57:06Speaker 1: Early, that is an issue with Detroit.
- 57:10Speaker 3: They have a week five bye and so something could happen.
- 57:14Speaker 3: And I also gave my loss at Indy. I getting
- 57:17Speaker 3: back to back last.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Yeah, go back to look at we're talking about Buys.
- 57:23Speaker 2: Was that game loss at green Bay? He wanted to
- 57:25Speaker 2: split at home? Yeah?
- 57:28Speaker 1: Look at the bye weeks for the other North what
- 57:30Speaker 1: was their bye week?
- 57:32Speaker 2: Week seven?
- 57:33Speaker 1: Yeah, that's okay.
- 57:36Speaker 2: There was one of.
- 57:37Speaker 1: Them that went really deep this year, and we'll talk
- 57:39Speaker 1: about that when we get to Minnesota.
- 57:41Speaker 2: Was week six, green Bay was week ten?
- 57:45Speaker 1: Yeah, so ten is maybe okay. But Detroit was a
- 57:48Speaker 1: week four bye, week five. It is a week five, okay.
- 57:52Speaker 2: Yeah, week five. Nobody gets a week four by so,
- 57:55Speaker 2: but they were the first. I don't think that anybody
- 57:58Speaker 2: should have a week five bye.
- 57:59Speaker 1: I don't think we're gonna have to get Buys to something.
- 58:01Speaker 1: But I don't think they should be starting to at
- 58:03Speaker 1: least half the season is over, at least beyond That's
- 58:07Speaker 1: what I say. I'm sure it's the scheduling issues why
- 58:10Speaker 1: they do that. But I mean the year Tampa Bay
- 58:13Speaker 1: went to the Super Bowl, if you remember that won
- 58:14Speaker 1: it with Tom Brady whose happy birthday, Tom Brady?
- 58:17Speaker 2: Do you remember you were? You were at birthday two?
- 58:22Speaker 2: So you remember.
- 58:22Speaker 3: San Francisco had that really screwed up schedule where they
- 58:25Speaker 3: had to do a Thursday then.
- 58:28Speaker 2: A Sunday game or something like that, or you.
- 58:30Speaker 1: Can stretch that out, not together. They didn't have it
- 58:32Speaker 1: three days. No, they probably did a Sunday Sunday.
- 58:37Speaker 2: Well they also did, didn't they do?
- 58:39Speaker 1: Uh?
- 58:40Speaker 2: One of the holiday games?
- 58:42Speaker 1: You see, Yes, that screwed them moment.
- 58:43Speaker 2: You've seen like they had shortened schedules. I think Detroit
- 58:46Speaker 2: had it as well.
- 58:47Speaker 1: You see, well when you play on the holidays, you're
- 58:49Speaker 1: gonna get screwed somehow, or going overseas as well, a
- 58:53Speaker 1: lot more overseas.
- 58:54Speaker 2: So we've got Detroit winning. Uh. And like I said,
- 58:57Speaker 2: so mine were two random losses.
- 58:59Speaker 1: Uh, John Adam seventeen and oh and I said that.
- 59:02Speaker 2: You gave them a Houston loss and the San Francisco loss.
- 59:04Speaker 1: I really like Houston. Fact.
- 59:06Speaker 3: But my two random losses were Indianapolis and jacksonvillecause they
- 59:10Speaker 3: got to play them back to back, and they're it's
- 59:13Speaker 3: a week uh week eleven and twelve. You don't know injuries,
- 59:17Speaker 3: you know, you know, you look, you're looking at that,
- 59:19Speaker 3: You're looking at guys that are just kind of I.
- 59:21Speaker 1: Think everybody, I think everybody on those two other teams.
- 59:24Speaker 1: If Indianapolis and Jacksonville are looking, please no injuries this year.
- 59:28Speaker 1: I mean, we've got to have our stars be there,
- 59:30Speaker 1: so right.
- 59:31Speaker 3: And uh and the Detroit San Francisco game, could those
- 59:35Speaker 3: two teams even be playing their starters because it's the
- 59:39Speaker 3: last game of the season or no, second last game.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Of the season.
- 59:42Speaker 1: Well, we talked about that too. I argue that I
- 59:44Speaker 1: argued with you because but is it possible that.
- 59:47Speaker 3: They're even playing their their starter Detroit or their son
- 59:50Speaker 3: Well no, Detroit maybe, right, but but that was against
- 59:54Speaker 3: Kansas City, right.
- 59:55Speaker 2: No, San Francisco. I'm sorry, let's talk about that game. Yes,
- 59:58Speaker 2: second or last game? Yes, so Samon last teams, Minnesota,
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: They're definitely gonna play anybody and.
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: That's possible too, so you could see you could see that,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: so that might cloud that a little bit. Always do if.
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: They don't have positions. I think they don't have positioning.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: By week seventeen they will be starting.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: But I think they're about one of the only few
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: teams that could sit there and go, I think we'll
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: be start setting people. Kansas City might be the other one, right,
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: you know, to be saying I'm gonna set people because
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: you look at the other teams New England, but they're gonna.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: Be they're already set at the bottom.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: But you're gonna be looking at those other teams playing
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: their best to try to get those games to get
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: maybe in the playoffs, whether it be San Francisco, whether
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: it be you know, Baltimore Pittsburgh that's were getting ready.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: To Yeah, I think Baltimore, we have they should they
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: could possibly be setting all right. Uh Now for the AFC.
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: AFC North is get after it what we got and
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: coming in last place. At you have six wins, I
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: have five. For some reason, you're just like a nine wins.
- 1:00:56Speaker 3: The Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Brownies.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: Good year last year. Last year, a lot of games.
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: More sustainable players, people can know you that they've brought
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: some guys.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: In, but that about it. He never did anything.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: I just I just, I really think.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: I don't think Judy had a very good I mean,
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: they finished eleven and six, made the playoffs.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: You know, Chubb's coming back for injury. Deshaun Watson still
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: hasn't ever been anything that I predicted he would be.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Judy coming from the Broncos is great, but is he
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: a number one? Not really to me. They have one
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: of the best defense.
- 1:01:36Speaker 2: Horrible attitude when he played there, but.
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: No, but they have one of the best defenses. I mean,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: you've got there, got Garrett, Zarius Smith, Schwartz still, Jordan Hicks,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: Grant Delpit, not Schwartz. His name is.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: No, I'm talking, you know.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: I don't know about that. Swarts should be should which
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: I like him.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: I do too, but I hate him as a head coach.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: I never liked him as he liked him as a
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: defensive coordinator.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: But I think though that I thought there was I
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: thought I thought there was a lot. Now time out
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: before I make my point about last year and their
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: close wins, Brandon Ayuk is being mentioned as a possibility
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: in a trade for them.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Well mentioned that, now that could be interesting to be honest,
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: that really that well, that's the whole deal. What are
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: they going to give up?
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: You know what I mean, what do they have to
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: give up? They still have any first rounds?
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: No? No, but I mean they had last year. They
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: had Tennessee. They beat the forty nine Ers in a
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: random win which was impressive. Was including beat the Colts,
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: beat the Cardinals, beat the Ravens again, Steelers, they beat.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: Loss of the broncos of the random killed them.
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: Beat Jaguars by four, beat the Bears only by three.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: Uh, they're very strange.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: Beat the Texans and the Jets obviously, and then the
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Texas I think Texans in the first round they beat
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: them by yeah, forty five fourteen. I just I just
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: something about them.
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: I don't like they have their chance. I'm gonna go
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: no playoffs. Uh, now here is what we have. We
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: have for second place? Uh? You and I took Pittsburgh. U.
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: You took him at eight. I took him at nine. Okay,
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: so I gave him eleven.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: Of course he did. He's a fan, family's family.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: Now what that does is puts them in a for him.
- 1:03:47Speaker 2: It puts them into contention to to make the playoffs.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: So he got them picked second.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: No, well they're close to second because he picked thirteen
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: games for Cincinnati.
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: Okay, which I don't like Cincinnata twelve is it twelve games? Yeah,
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: he's got twelve games in Baltimore.
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: Okay, so he's he's real close with that.
- 1:04:11Speaker 2: So Pittsburgh, I've got him.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: I've got him as not losing season. You've got him
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: as a losing season. Again, it's still under.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: They haven't. They haven't had a losing season under what's
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: his face?
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. They haven't. So okay, you have them,
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: you have them as a losing season. I've got him.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: I do. I do this year, and I'm gonna I'm
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: gonna tell you why when Zach's got him in love
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: with now I have on this on this show, I
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: have said that the best pickup in the whole free
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: agency was Patrick Queen from the Ravens to I think
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: the worst pickup is Russell Wilson, and I like Fields.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: You know this, ye VP, Fields?
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: How many.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: Hold on?
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: How many games are they gonna let Russell blow before
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: they put Fields in to.
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: Give him anything? So I know they're not paying either one.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: I'm really much money.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: Everybody else is paying them, So what are you worried
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: about it?
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: I mean, you look, you've got Queen, You've got Wilson.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: I mean, you've got what obviously pickings, Joey Porter Junior.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: On the defense, I mean, you've got all these players,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: but for one, you're in the toughest conference or division
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: and it's offense and you're looking at Cleveland. Who does
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: have We talked about this. We're not disagreeing. Cleve's got
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: one of the best defenses the whole NFL. We just
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: don't like the offense. Chubb coming back is interesting. You've
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: got Amari Cooper, who's the other wide receiver that's.
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: Gonna be there.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: There's Yes, he's good, but I'm talking about the other
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: wide receiver.
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: But he is a wide receiver option and he was
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: thrown to a lot in the Jeo Flacco.
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: Yes, no, I agree with that. I'm just saying I
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: just I do not like. I just I really think.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: But we have that Cincinnati and Ravens are gonna be
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: really good.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: They're really good. So it looks like I have picked
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: Cincinnati's number two with a ten win season. You gave
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: him thirteen. No, no, you gave them thirteen. That gave
- 1:06:22Speaker 2: him thirteen.
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: Now back to Steelers. They did draft some wide or
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: some lineman, which helps is what they needed. Zach Frazier.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: I like that pick from West Virginia. He's a center.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: He might potentially play immediately if they move him there
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: to guard. I like, like I said, I like the
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: defensive pickup be really good.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: Defense gonna be good for the Pittsburg for Pittsburgh and yeah, yeah,
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: they traditionally have a.
- 1:06:48Speaker 1: Great the weakest defense in the North, it's probably gonna
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: be Cleveland. I mean Cincinnati.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: Yeah, Cincinnati is gonna have the week, but but they've.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: Got probably the second best offense that is way better.
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: If eight Mile Borrow can stay healthy well, and that's
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: what I'm predicting.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: But they're way better than Pittsburgh's and Cleveland's offense way better.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: You know. Cleveland and Ravens, to my mind, are about equal.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: I think I think the Ravens defense dips a little.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Queen Leaving hurts, but I think Dolphense.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Is just so much better. But they had they had any.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Thing about Henry.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Is there running back for Derrick Henry moved from Tennessee
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: over made uh made the So we're looking at another
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: what season two years ago McDonald left to it was
- 1:07:35Speaker 3: it two years ago in Baltimore and Cincinnati were fighting
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: for number one.
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: If you don't have the injuries years ago forever, well,
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: Lamar was hurt too. It was it was Hunt that
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: was playing. It was two years ago.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: I thought, Mike McDonald leaving the Ravens is interesting. He's
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: he is not singing on a cruise. That's a different dad.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: He's coaching. I don't out there.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: But they kept Zach Orr, who was a defensive guy already.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: So I think that continuity helps Queen losing Queen. I
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: thought that was the best. I thought that was the
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: best free agent pick up. It was.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: Him go.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: But well, I think, but what you.
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: Gotta look at They let their entire running back stable
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: go to the Chargers, but got Derrick Henry, but got
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: Derrick Henry in return. Yes, so Gus Edwards and there's yeah,
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: Gus Edwards and then what's his nuts went not Moses.
- 1:08:35Speaker 2: I think they both ended up on who.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Got sack sack sack Moss came somewhere. Oh okay, hey,
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: we didn't forget. We forgot to talk about that obviously.
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: Oh you connection. It's another thing that Cincinnati concerns me.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Zack Moss is there, but.
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Zach Moss has been injured Atn't he yes?
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: But mixing is gone.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: They gotta let Mixon had a tough already had.
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: A tough spring season for Houston. Really, I think he's
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: I've heard.
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: That he's had a tough preseason. I don't think that
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: it's gonna stop him from starting. It's just you gotta
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: get used to the new style, new coaches. People seem
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: to forget that, Okay, you take this money, you go
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: to this program, you're not running the same program, You're
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: not running the same offenses.
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Now they did, they did pick up Elik Morrison, linebacker,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: who's good. Kyle Vanoy, also a linebacker.
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: Is late in his years, isn't he? Yes? He is?
- 1:09:30Speaker 2: He is.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: But they're just they're, you know, losing the queen.
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: Though I know, I know it's so that they shouldn't
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: have let happen.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Money money baby.
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: So what was the record for the Ravens thirteen?
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: So them and Cincinnati is about the same. Cincinnati's only
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: concerned for me, obviously, he's injuries.
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: I've got Baltimore three games. Can you guys have them times?
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: Can the secondary for Cincinnati be better than.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: I mean, Eli Apple's not there, so it's gonna be
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: that's Is Apple even still in Miami?
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 1:10:03Speaker 2: Do you remember his mom was angry, like my baby boy,
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: he's you stopped yelling at him. He was only good
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: at LSU.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: Is that where he played?
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: I believe that's where his college was. I thought he
- 1:10:18Speaker 2: was part of it was part of the defensive killed us,
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: wouldn't it? No? Ohio State?
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: There you go there?
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: Why did I think he was on l s U.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: Well, Dax Hills back up to cornerback. Dak was pretty
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: good at Michigan, Jordan Battle, Geno Stone looks like you know,
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: they've they've pretty much got that.
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: Their offensive coordinator left Callahan. He's the head coach at Tennessee. Well,
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: I think that's gonna be a big deal. I don't
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: think that's going to be a big deal because Zach
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: calls the plays anyway.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: So yeah, you see Eli apples a less of his career.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: The best season that he had was probably on the Cincinnati.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: Back It was it was it was kind of like
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: the Nickel guys.
- 1:11:15Speaker 3: It seemed like, yeah, they well they knew how to
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: use him, they knew how to how to keep him
- 1:11:18Speaker 3: in there until they got to Kansas City.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: Correcty, what was that? Did you take a picture of? Gross? Uh?

- 1:12:06Speaker 1: Let see, do we have anything?
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: I don't think I had anything else.
