- 0:00Speaker 1: Cobby, Christy and Kristen. Something I notice every August, especially
- 0:04Speaker 1: this week in August. I don't know what it is,
- 0:06Speaker 1: but I drive on the turnpike all the time. I
- 0:09Speaker 1: come here northbound from East Brunswick. I drive southbound home
- 0:13Speaker 1: when I leave Midtown. And we've been doing this for years,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and I've noticed a lot of cars are more packed
- 0:20Speaker 1: and stuffed, especially this week in August. Either it's last
- 0:23Speaker 1: minute vacations or it's all the people packed up to
- 0:26Speaker 1: go to college. Yes, and you have a whole thing
- 0:29Speaker 1: here that I've never heard about, involving college dorms. And
- 0:33Speaker 1: this is a new level now.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Yeah, and why we want to move into one, because
- 0:37Speaker 2: this is been going on for a while, Cobby, little trend.
- 0:41Speaker 2: You'll find it on TikTok and all over social people
- 0:44Speaker 2: are showing off their college dorm rooms because their parents
- 0:48Speaker 2: are helping them set it up by hiring professional interior designers.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Now that I've heard of spending up to twenty thousand
- 0:56Speaker 2: dollars for the college dorm room. But wait, there's more.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Now they're starting to add laundry service and maid service.
- 1:07Speaker 1: That's new to me, to me too, and I cannot
- 1:09Speaker 1: believe it are the parents paying for this for their kids?
- 1:12Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:12Speaker 1: Like obviously mm hmm, so adding on to the already
- 1:17Speaker 1: HGTV exactly, yes, now you got the laundry service and
- 1:22Speaker 1: a housekeeper and how much is that running?
- 1:24Speaker 2: Oh that I don't even know how much that is.
- 1:27Speaker 1: It's got to be pricey.
- 1:28Speaker 2: It's yeah, I would think and I would look.
- 1:30Speaker 1: I would do anything for my kid, And when I
- 1:32Speaker 1: get to that point in life, maybe I will, But
- 1:34Speaker 1: right now it makes me kind.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Of laugh, like whoa I know, Like I said, could
- 1:38Speaker 2: these parents adopt me? And you know, so send these
- 1:43Speaker 2: designers and cleaners to my house.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I would love to talk to a parent. If you're
- 1:46Speaker 1: a parent, can you text us at four four three
- 1:48Speaker 1: six three have you done that? Would you consider doing that?
- 1:52Speaker 1: Would you pay for a housekeeper and laundry service for
- 1:55Speaker 1: your kid?
- 1:56Speaker 2: I mean I would want to make them as comfortable
- 1:58Speaker 2: as possible. And producer Kristen, this is just in twenty
- 2:01Speaker 2: five to fifty bucks per week to have someone come
- 2:05Speaker 2: in and do the laundry and clean. Okay, we actually
- 2:08Speaker 2: that's not so bad.
- 2:09Speaker 1: That's not too bad. And you know what if it
- 2:11Speaker 1: takes if it makes your kid focus more on studying
- 2:15Speaker 1: and not cleaning up the room.
- 2:16Speaker 2: That's true.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Take at a little something off their minds.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Yeah, it could be all worth it. Yeah, if you can,
- 2:21Speaker 2: if you can do it, if you.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Can do it, if you have the means. All right,
- 2:25Speaker 1: we want to hear from you. Four four three six
- 2:27Speaker 1: three on text. All right, coming up, we have our
