- 0:14Speaker 1: I'm standing in front of the elevator and they go okay,
- 0:17Speaker 1: and I see it going. They said, he's in the elevator,
- 0:20Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, I see first floor and
- 0:23Speaker 1: the door goes ing like the door's open like that,
- 0:26Speaker 1: and he went Kats in Footing Podcast a melting Pot
- 0:34Speaker 1: And now here's Jen. Good afternoon, everybody, and welcome to

- 0:47Speaker 1: the guest of all guests, the godfather of all guests,
- 0:51Speaker 1: god mother god mother of all guests, Miss miss Catherine Kiddy. Now, dude,
- 0:57Speaker 1: you look at who I have right here. Amazing she's doing.
- 1:01Speaker 1: She's doing like this. When I was the what do
- 1:04Speaker 1: you call that one at the Saint Gennario Feast. They
- 1:07Speaker 1: made me the the queen, not the queen. You get
- 1:10Speaker 1: on the float, you're the oh the Grand Marshall, And
- 1:13Speaker 1: I did the Queen's wave the whole time. I finally
- 1:16Speaker 1: got on a float and I was able to do
- 1:17Speaker 1: the queen's You are the queen, you are the Queen.
- 1:20Speaker 1: You're amazing, You're a queen. Till now listen, I am.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I love you. I First of all, I love this woman.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I I knew that her and I were going to
- 1:30Speaker 1: be automatic friends the minute like I we even contacted
- 1:33Speaker 1: each other on Instagram, and I fell in love with
- 1:36Speaker 1: her the minute I met. I felt such a vibe
- 1:38Speaker 1: with you, like you could tell vibes through through the screen.
- 1:41Speaker 1: A thousand of me, a thousand people are you can
- 1:44Speaker 1: see you can see who's fake and with how they
- 1:46Speaker 1: post and everything else, because most people who post on Instagram,
- 1:49Speaker 1: you know, it's a show and it's so superficial. But
- 1:52Speaker 1: when you see when I see somebody and they really
- 1:55Speaker 1: posting and they and they really are real, you could
- 1:58Speaker 1: tell who they are, right, you could totally tell. But
- 1:59Speaker 1: I you how and I I would love her and
- 2:01Speaker 1: I'm so in awe of you. I'm such a bit
- 2:03Speaker 1: of fan of yours for so many years. Oh my God,
- 2:06Speaker 1: And I love you. I love you. I'm like so happy,
- 2:09Speaker 1: you know, I love you more. Yes, we're gonna go
- 2:12Speaker 1: surfing fier far Rockaway Beach. Yes, we're gonna be We're
- 2:15Speaker 1: gonna we're gonna be in a bromance. We're gonna be
- 2:18Speaker 1: in a hole man's and a hole man. She's my
- 2:22Speaker 1: new She's my new crush, Catherine, Catherine. I know we
- 2:26Speaker 1: don't like to ask questions. I don't. I know you
- 2:28Speaker 1: want to go through all the same questions that people
- 2:30Speaker 1: ask you all the time. But I'm gonna ask you
- 2:32Speaker 1: one question. How many times have you been robbed with
- 2:34Speaker 1: any of his wife on screen? His wife three times,
- 2:43Speaker 1: but working with him like six. It seems like you've
- 2:48Speaker 1: been his wife so many more times? Like you, she
- 2:51Speaker 1: thought I was his wife and the irishman. I was
- 2:53Speaker 1: pest She's wife and the irishman. You know what? But
- 2:55Speaker 1: I know I think but they think I'm because they
- 2:57Speaker 1: see me him. Well, everybody connects you to him, That's why,
- 3:00Speaker 1: especially from the Bronxtown, that's where they connect you. Well, yeah,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I feel like that's a good connection to be connected to.
- 3:10Speaker 1: He gave me my start and I do love him.
- 3:14Speaker 1: And how many did did you? When you go? That
- 3:16Speaker 1: was that? That was your first major role was in
- 3:18Speaker 1: was in Broxtown, off the Street and on Robert Deannairo's
- 3:23Speaker 1: lap in an audition. Wow, wow, talk about a step
- 3:26Speaker 1: off right in his lap and he was young then. Yeah,
- 3:29Speaker 1: I mean he's still hot. I mean he's still hot guy. Yeah.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Did you ever have a prushure? Like ever happened? No,
- 3:36Speaker 1: I know you can't talk about it. No, no, no, no, crush, crush, crush. Oh,
- 3:42Speaker 1: I think he's beautiful when I yeah, when I first
- 3:45Speaker 1: met him, I ye, r of him. Of course I
- 3:47Speaker 1: had like a crush. And if you who like the person,
- 3:52Speaker 1: like say, the first who that you have met was
- 3:55Speaker 1: like somebody that like just starstruck you like, I mean
- 3:58Speaker 1: you've been with, You've been with arscortsez Chas commentary, Roberts
- 4:03Speaker 1: de Niro, Oh, Christopher Walking. I mean there's people clin
- 4:07Speaker 1: east Wood, Joe Passion, I mean Placewood was the biggest
- 4:10Speaker 1: one for me. I didn't know what, like, he's clinics,
- 4:16Speaker 1: he's starving that man, Hollywood royalties. You know, I'm meaning
- 4:20Speaker 1: John Wayne. Yeah like that. Yeah, like he's old Cletable.
- 4:24Speaker 1: That's like legendary. Meeting de Niro was too walking in
- 4:28Speaker 1: a room and being like, oh my god, I'm gonna
- 4:30Speaker 1: have contact with this person who I watched my whole
- 4:33Speaker 1: life on screen. And then then all of a sudden
- 4:35Speaker 1: you're sitting there and you're working with them. It's like
- 4:38Speaker 1: it's surreal. You gotta keep saying this is surreal. And
- 4:41Speaker 1: we were like, I can't believe this is happening. You
- 4:42Speaker 1: know what is? I think maybe because Robert Dinner was
- 4:44Speaker 1: like an Italian and we and it's kind of like
- 4:46Speaker 1: feels the same, you know what I'm saying. But Clint
- 4:49Speaker 1: eas Wood is it's more like you have that connection
- 4:51Speaker 1: because you guys are the same nation, with the same nationality,
- 4:54Speaker 1: were the same background. So maybe that was why you
- 4:57Speaker 1: felt more comfortable with that. Clint east Wood is like
- 4:59Speaker 1: a different No Clint E's but it was like it
- 5:03Speaker 1: was unbelievable. And when I did Church way want to
- 5:06Speaker 1: hear how this is how I met him. So I
- 5:09Speaker 1: put myself on tape to get that role, right. I
- 5:12Speaker 1: self taped and then I flew to Hollywood and I
- 5:18Speaker 1: do the movie. I'm I'm there. I still don't meet him.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I never met him. Like I got the part. He's
- 5:24Speaker 1: gonna direct me. And I show up. They do my
- 5:28Speaker 1: hair makeup for first day working and then we go
- 5:31Speaker 1: to the location on I think it was on Paramount
- 5:35Speaker 1: we filmed and on the lot and then I'm waiting there.
- 5:40Speaker 1: They're like, well, we're waiting for Clint. And he's got
- 5:41Speaker 1: a whole crew that's been with him for years. And
- 5:44Speaker 1: they kept going, Okay, Clint's coming, Clint's in front of
- 5:46Speaker 1: the building, Clen's pulling up, and I'm going to Elvis.
- 5:50Speaker 1: I never got like that before in my life. And
- 5:52Speaker 1: I was like, oh my god, Oh my god. And
- 5:53Speaker 1: I'm standing in front of the elevator and they go okay,
- 5:56Speaker 1: and I see it going. They said, he's in the
- 5:59Speaker 1: elevator and all said, and I see first floor, second
- 6:02Speaker 1: and the door goes like the door is open like that,
- 6:05Speaker 1: and he went, well, you are astonishingly beautiful. Wow. And
- 6:10Speaker 1: I was just like and so, oh my god, how handsome, handsome, tall,
- 6:18Speaker 1: soft spoken, he's such ah my god. It was amazing,
- 6:21Speaker 1: such a man. Every single day I pinched myself on
- 6:24Speaker 1: that set. Oh my god, I love him. My grandmother
- 6:28Speaker 1: loved him and loved I don't know why she loved
- 6:31Speaker 1: Truck Norris so much. I don't think he's that sexy.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Grandmother loved Chuck Norris. Loved Chuck Norris. Isn't that? And
- 6:37Speaker 1: and and would and Paul Newman Paul Newman another one.
- 6:40Speaker 1: Did you get to meet a woman? No? No, I
- 6:42Speaker 1: never and I didn't meet him. But those are the
- 6:45Speaker 1: three men that I equate, like like just Rob Paul Newman,
- 6:50Speaker 1: Robert Redford and and and clinics Wood is like these
- 6:55Speaker 1: I don't know, they're just like the hot like all
- 6:58Speaker 1: American just I mean people that are like astonishing. I
- 7:03Speaker 1: don't know, I just write, write, you know what I mean?
- 7:06Speaker 1: Those three, Yes, that's why I look at them and
- 7:08Speaker 1: I and I think they're like Robertson Niro and and
- 7:11Speaker 1: like Joe Peschi is more relatable. So I guess you're
- 7:14Speaker 1: more relatable to them, so you feel more comfortable. It's
- 7:16Speaker 1: not just not saw struck by them, but it's like you.
- 7:20Speaker 1: I think even Pesci and Robert DeNiro are going to
- 7:22Speaker 1: be an ore of Clint Eastwood. Of That's what I'm
- 7:25Speaker 1: saying meeting two was a big another big moment. You know,
- 7:33Speaker 1: I auditioned for that. I put myself on tape and
- 7:36Speaker 1: then you get the call. Okay, Marty wants to meet you.
- 7:40Speaker 1: And the way he auditions you is you go meet
- 7:42Speaker 1: him in a hotel, you know, with this crew is there.
- 7:46Speaker 1: You're in the room alone with him because he just
- 7:48Speaker 1: wants to see who you are and who's working with.
- 7:52Speaker 1: And that was like it went from it and like
- 7:56Speaker 1: I got to I gotta tell you. I thought it
- 7:59Speaker 1: was gonna be quick. You go, you talk a little bit,
- 8:01Speaker 1: and then you leave. I was there over and now
- 8:03Speaker 1: we ordered. First we had coffee. Then I was like, hey,
- 8:06Speaker 1: he goes. Then we then we had champagne and and
- 8:09Speaker 1: I had this. I was there for like over an hours,
- 8:12Speaker 1: like I was with somebody. The familiality was just it
- 8:16Speaker 1: felt like I knew my whole life. And I would
- 8:18Speaker 1: think that it would feel like that with him and
- 8:21Speaker 1: with with with Robert de Niro and with Joe Joe pescially,
- 8:24Speaker 1: because it's like there there are times very he seems
- 8:28Speaker 1: like really laid back. Pession is very very different from
- 8:33Speaker 1: who he plays. He's very soft spoken, in vent Yeah,
- 8:37Speaker 1: I've seen him so night and day. That's why to
- 8:40Speaker 1: me he's an incredible actor because he's nothing like that
- 8:44Speaker 1: like the people he plays well he I mean, if
- 8:47Speaker 1: you look at him, he does of course well his gangsters.
- 8:49Speaker 1: But also he's been in movies where he played like
- 8:52Speaker 1: the you know, the comedy comedy Home Alone, My cousin
- 8:57Speaker 1: with the one with Me Gibson? What was that? The
- 9:00Speaker 1: What's on Him and Danny Glove? Yeah? I forgot he
- 9:03Speaker 1: played you played the Jewish Accountant? Yeah? Right, yeah, it
- 9:06Speaker 1: was that movie called I can't even think about it.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I love that movie. Do you ever meet Mel Gibson?
- 9:11Speaker 1: The Weapon? The Weapon? That's it? Lead the Web? Do
- 9:13Speaker 1: you ever meet mel Gibson? Mel Gibson No so hot?
- 9:18Speaker 1: Oh my god? Who was your? Who was your? Like?
- 9:21Speaker 1: If you could, if you could date somebody in Hollywood?
- 9:24Speaker 1: Who would have liked You've ever seen as like the
- 9:26Speaker 1: most hand. But so I've cleaning this one because we
- 9:28Speaker 1: know he's gorgeous, But like, who did you meet in person?
- 9:31Speaker 1: Just like like I know that there's so many good
- 9:34Speaker 1: looking like Clooney and Brad Pitt, and I don't know who.
- 9:42Speaker 1: I don't know, really, I don't have that many Hollywood crushes.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I fall in love with people that I meet, like
- 9:49Speaker 1: real people. Who was your who is your favorite actor?
- 9:53Speaker 1: Like if you had to choose I as actresses, Shirley McClain,
- 9:59Speaker 1: I love Maggie Gillen Hall's amazing, Laura Dern's amazing women. Yeah,
- 10:06Speaker 1: like those three, I love I love them. Who do you?
- 10:09Speaker 1: Who do you have you felt like you emulate or
- 10:12Speaker 1: wanted to emulate as far as as people that you
- 10:15Speaker 1: were tomorrow? Uh? I the three that I just said,
- 10:21Speaker 1: I love them. I just think that they're so all
- 10:26Speaker 1: three of them are raw. They're very raw actresses. They're
- 10:30Speaker 1: not afraid to get ugly and expose themselves. As my
- 10:34Speaker 1: old acting teacher said, he used to scream out when
- 10:38Speaker 1: you were on stage doing a scene, and he used
- 10:41Speaker 1: to scream out, stop being a fucking mirror actor, because
- 10:45Speaker 1: if you were worried about how you looked, and more
- 10:46Speaker 1: about how you look and you're clothes, how's my makeup?
- 10:51Speaker 1: Instead of screw everything, I'm just worried about the character,
- 10:55Speaker 1: produce what's going on internally instead of externally. And I
- 11:00Speaker 1: feel like surely McLain, Laura Dern and Maggie Gillenhole especially
- 11:07Speaker 1: you ever see the movie Baby, Yes, she's amazing, and
- 11:11Speaker 1: I also like the movie Secretary that she's Secretary amazing.
- 11:14Speaker 1: She's amazing, and she's not afraid to show her bad side.
- 11:20Speaker 1: She's not afraid of looking ugly. And I think that's
- 11:23Speaker 1: why we gravitate and that's why I love British films
- 11:26Speaker 1: and British TV because they use real people that are,
- 11:30Speaker 1: you know, imperfect, and here not everybody as a Kardashian. Yeah,
- 11:35Speaker 1: not everybody's call. But God bless them too, God bless
- 11:38Speaker 1: them too. They have a great mom and Joe, that's
- 11:40Speaker 1: for sure. Yes they do. I mean, godless there, that's
- 11:43Speaker 1: the thing. But I mean, let's be honest, they don't.
- 11:45Speaker 1: I don't want to talk about any but they don't
- 11:46Speaker 1: have the talent of being a real actresses. That's not
- 11:50Speaker 1: what they're the need for. I mean, listen, they're brilliant
- 11:52Speaker 1: of what they do, and they're brilliant at that, but
- 11:55Speaker 1: I don't think that they have talent as far as
- 11:57Speaker 1: like you have talent, like you're an artist, you know.
- 11:59Speaker 1: I don't look them as being an artist and somebody
- 12:02Speaker 1: who has got internal artistry. I think that they're very
- 12:05Speaker 1: good business people, and I think that they have a
- 12:07Speaker 1: niche and they're good at what they do on reality.
- 12:10Speaker 1: But I don't see them like I won't look at
- 12:11Speaker 1: them and say, oh my god, you know they're they're brilliant,
- 12:14Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like she brilliant business people,
- 12:18Speaker 1: brilliant knowing what the public wants. I don't think they
- 12:21Speaker 1: see themselves as actors, do they? Well, I know, I
- 12:24Speaker 1: think Kim Kardashiana was on the New American Horror Story
- 12:26Speaker 1: right now, so I think she's trying to on it. Yes,
- 12:30Speaker 1: she she played herself. She played her mother. She played
- 12:35Speaker 1: a manager like that's who she played. She played somebody
- 12:38Speaker 1: like was she good? You like? Not that she played
- 12:40Speaker 1: her mother, But she played a character like her mother.
- 12:43Speaker 1: She played an actress's manager person, So really she was
- 12:47Speaker 1: acting like her mother. So how much did she have
- 12:49Speaker 1: to really put into it? So it wasn't like she
- 12:51Speaker 1: decided to play that And she's playing in the Dalai Lama.
- 12:54Speaker 1: You know she's not, I mean, but she played a
- 12:57Speaker 1: good you know, for her mother role. Very hard to
- 13:00Speaker 1: play yourself, you know. When I did a Bronx, Taill
- 13:05Speaker 1: Dnio said to me, I want you to stay natural
- 13:08Speaker 1: like you did on the audition. He said, that's the
- 13:10Speaker 1: hardest thing to do. He said, people are going to
- 13:12Speaker 1: say to you, oh, you're not acting, You're just being you.
- 13:15Speaker 1: But you know how hard it is to stay stay yourself, natural, relaxed,
- 13:19Speaker 1: and just be natural in front of a camera. He said,
- 13:22Speaker 1: think about this, when you go to a wedding and
- 13:25Speaker 1: the film. What do you call the guy that goes
- 13:28Speaker 1: around with the camera filming everybody the video for pographer
- 13:32Speaker 1: to hey say something for the writing boom. You're all
- 13:35Speaker 1: natural at the tables and everybody go hi, I want
- 13:39Speaker 1: to say, and you start acting. If you don't act
- 13:42Speaker 1: yourself and sit down, oh yeah, you become the camera
- 13:47Speaker 1: the day you don't look like it's very hard to
- 13:49Speaker 1: stay natural. That's the hardest thing in the world to do,
- 13:52Speaker 1: is stay natural and be yourself and stay relaxed. I
- 13:56Speaker 1: mean a rhyme, say you played you looked relaxed in
- 13:59Speaker 1: the role. Well, that's because of de Niro. He made
- 14:02Speaker 1: me feel very I trusted him. You know, trust is
- 14:05Speaker 1: a big factor. You have to trust. If you don't
- 14:08Speaker 1: trust your environment, you know, you gotta trust the environment.
- 14:13Speaker 1: You gotta feel safe and it's important. All that's important.
- 14:18Speaker 1: And you and you do work with Chaz, you do
- 14:20Speaker 1: a podcast with her. I love Jazz. Chazz is he's
- 14:23Speaker 1: the best guy in the world. Well, his favorite, favorite,
- 14:26Speaker 1: favorite line of Anymore is now you can't leave. I
- 14:28Speaker 1: say that all the time. I love that. I love it.
- 14:31Speaker 1: I recite I'm like a I'm like an idiot savant,
- 14:33Speaker 1: I recite movie lines. How about wasted talent? How many
- 14:38Speaker 1: people do you know that do have wasted talent? It's
- 14:40Speaker 1: so true. Waste of talent to me is one of
- 14:43Speaker 1: the most incredible quotes because I know so many people
- 14:48Speaker 1: that are so talented and don't use their talent. And
- 14:51Speaker 1: I'm like, if I knew you, knew I had what
- 14:54Speaker 1: you had, forget what I would do with that. So
- 14:57Speaker 1: they just you know, my friend does a great artist, painter,
- 15:01Speaker 1: he won't do anything with it. He's like, yeah, effortlessless,
- 15:05Speaker 1: but that's not what that's not his passion. It's sometimes
- 15:08Speaker 1: got to be got to be a passion. And you
- 15:10Speaker 1: and you're an incredible artist too. You are very good.
- 15:13Speaker 1: She's not only just an actress artist, but you are
- 15:15Speaker 1: a painter. Beautiful. I've seen some of the work that
- 15:18Speaker 1: you put I will. I can't wait to see the
- 15:20Speaker 1: question all self expression. You know, when I'm not acting,
- 15:24Speaker 1: I want to paint because I know you love it.
- 15:28Speaker 1: You love it. My instrument going however, I have to
- 15:31Speaker 1: express myself. That's what I do, like painting, doing a podcast,
- 15:37Speaker 1: just always doing something, always constantly trying to keep creative.
- 15:43Speaker 1: You're a creative person. I'm very creative. I agree. I
- 15:47Speaker 1: I am a creative person and you also are. You
- 15:51Speaker 1: also wrote a memoir or no, I'm writing memoirs right
- 15:56Speaker 1: now for my childhood, which I had a very interesting childhood,
- 16:00Speaker 1: a very dysfunctional amazing. This is amazing. Do you have
- 16:03Speaker 1: an amazing story? You have a dysfunctional, dysfunctional, but really
- 16:08Speaker 1: a good good it's a good story, interesting story. You know.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I got to tell you something. If anybody who wants
- 16:13Speaker 1: to write and they feel so overwhelmed, like they don't
- 16:15Speaker 1: know where to begin, I always everybody who said to me, oh,
- 16:19Speaker 1: you should write your you should write your story. You write,
- 16:22Speaker 1: you know, and I say, I'm not a writer, but
- 16:26Speaker 1: you could tell such a good story. Like all the
- 16:29Speaker 1: stories you tell us are so good, dude, you make
- 16:32Speaker 1: us see it visually. You're so you're so good at
- 16:34Speaker 1: expressing and telling a clear story, having a clear vision,
- 16:39Speaker 1: remembering every detail when you tell the story. And I
- 16:42Speaker 1: and I and I thought, you know what that I
- 16:45Speaker 1: can do? What if I act like on my computer,
- 16:49Speaker 1: like I'm telling the story to somebody across from me,
- 16:52Speaker 1: and I'll write out what I'm how you were talking?
- 16:55Speaker 1: How would you would tell somebody you were talking to me?
- 16:57Speaker 1: I wrote telling, I tell you, hey, you know what
- 17:01Speaker 1: happened when I was a kid, And I went to
- 17:03Speaker 1: you know, Jefferson Poole and and then I'd start writing it,
- 17:07Speaker 1: and then you know what happened, And I'd write it
- 17:10Speaker 1: and it came out like so good, it flowed it's
- 17:14Speaker 1: so good. Yes, So I did like seven short stories,
- 17:18Speaker 1: and I want to pitch it as a series. Through it,
- 17:23Speaker 1: it's gonna be like growing up in Harlem, East Harlem, uh,
- 17:31Speaker 1: through a little girl's eyes, through her point of view,
- 17:34Speaker 1: her perspective, and how she saw this world. I mean,
- 17:38Speaker 1: things that happened hard the story, the one story that
- 17:40Speaker 1: you told me. I mean, I was just I was
- 17:42Speaker 1: just like blown away and just it was so interesting.
- 17:46Speaker 1: I think that people I keep hitting this cat on
- 17:48Speaker 1: the heads. You know, I know when I knock it
- 17:49Speaker 1: over by the end of the day. But it's just
- 17:52Speaker 1: so interesting and I think that would it would be
- 17:55Speaker 1: an amazing I mean series movie. I think seemed more
- 17:59Speaker 1: like a series. Like I think it's more of a series.
- 18:01Speaker 1: My friend said it's more of a movie, but I
- 18:03Speaker 1: really believe it's like more of a series. And you
- 18:06Speaker 1: never see a series really through a little girl's eyes, No,
- 18:10Speaker 1: now like The Wonder Years, Was Boy all about Chris? Yes, Rock,
- 18:15Speaker 1: I feel like, and especially that's back in the late sixties,
- 18:21Speaker 1: seventies into the seventies. I think it would. I think
- 18:26Speaker 1: I just think it would be so good. More seventies. Yeah,
- 18:30Speaker 1: I just think it would be so interesting. I think
- 18:33Speaker 1: so too. I think people would be interested watching again.
- 18:36Speaker 1: And I brought this up with my last kids. It's
- 18:38Speaker 1: the whole Italian thing. Everybody loves to hear or anything
- 18:41Speaker 1: our culture. A lot of people many people just love
- 18:45Speaker 1: our culture. They love us, they love our they love
- 18:48Speaker 1: the way we are. And I think that it would
- 18:50Speaker 1: be so many people would be very interested in, especially
- 18:53Speaker 1: who you are. They would be interested in the way
- 18:55Speaker 1: you grew up and where you know, where you came from,
- 18:58Speaker 1: and how you got to where you are in the
- 19:00Speaker 1: the roads you traveled down because everything that happened to
- 19:02Speaker 1: you in your life brought you here. Right, All the
- 19:05Speaker 1: roles that you have brought you and defined you in
- 19:07Speaker 1: your life right major you are everybody right brings you closer.
- 19:12Speaker 1: So you absolutely that and you know it's something not
- 19:16Speaker 1: sometimes even the bad things that also defines you and
- 19:18Speaker 1: makes you a better person. Oh my god. Yeah, of course,
- 19:21Speaker 1: all the all the losses that I had, all the
- 19:24Speaker 1: death in my life at an early age, my father,
- 19:27Speaker 1: you know, dying when I was eleven, you know, my mother,
- 19:31Speaker 1: my father. Yep, isn't that weird? Say I told you
- 19:37Speaker 1: we have Well what month did he die? April? My
- 19:42Speaker 1: father was born in April? When when was he born? Say? May, No,
- 19:47Speaker 1: my father's birthday was in January, but he was but
- 19:49Speaker 1: he was born, but he died in April. Yeah. Sorry's see,
- 19:52Speaker 1: I'm sorry too. It's but that defines defines us. I
- 19:56Speaker 1: mean I know it defined me, you know so, And
- 19:59Speaker 1: and I think your story is amazing. I think I
- 20:03Speaker 1: would watch it. I would totally watch it. I know
- 20:05Speaker 1: people al would be interested in how you grow up. Definitely,
- 20:08Speaker 1: it was very colorful to say the least. And I'm
- 20:10Speaker 1: sure it was like a cathartic too, like to talk.
- 20:13Speaker 1: It is it is. Once you start writing it all out,
- 20:16Speaker 1: you can't stop. It's like therapy, it really is. And
- 20:20Speaker 1: that's probably made it if your computer becomes the therapist,
- 20:23Speaker 1: so you're throwing it all on and that must have
- 20:26Speaker 1: felt like like a relief, but it also felt like
- 20:29Speaker 1: an accomplishment at the same it does, right. Yes, it's
- 20:32Speaker 1: very gratifying. I can't wait to hear the other stories.
- 20:34Speaker 1: I'm excited. I'm going to know them first. So wait,
- 20:38Speaker 1: so you said you have a game. Yes, I have
- 20:41Speaker 1: a game, But first I wanted to ask you before
- 20:43Speaker 1: before I have to ask you organize and look at you.
- 20:45Speaker 1: I have to, I have to. I have to ask
- 20:47Speaker 1: you one. I have to talk about The Sopranos because
- 20:49Speaker 1: if I don't know, then what I have to how
- 20:53Speaker 1: was how what's the difference between being on a series
- 20:56Speaker 1: and then being in a movie like what you saw
- 21:00Speaker 1: form of family? Yeah, because you know, and on the
- 21:03Speaker 1: Sopranos we were a family. It was a total family.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Not one person had I don't think from what I know,
- 21:12Speaker 1: never like no bad feelings like you hear all the
- 21:16Speaker 1: drama on some of these shows. Nobody everybody, because James
- 21:21Speaker 1: the top of the food chain, kept everybody, was a
- 21:25Speaker 1: role model, and that's just the way it was. He
- 21:28Speaker 1: was missed a humble and it trickled down to us.
- 21:32Speaker 1: And we were really like a family and loved each other,
- 21:35Speaker 1: and going to work was fun. You know, we were
- 21:38Speaker 1: all friends. We'd all go out after, we'd hang out
- 21:41Speaker 1: all the time, laugh on set like it was amazing.
- 21:45Speaker 1: It really was a family. And I was on it
- 21:47Speaker 1: from the beginning to the end. And Toy had the crush.
- 21:52Speaker 1: That was fun, always had the question on my favorite.
- 21:54Speaker 1: I loved James and I miss him so much. That
- 21:57Speaker 1: was a very very big loss to us, sent to
- 22:01Speaker 1: the world everybody, and to his son and his child
- 22:04Speaker 1: and his wife and to everyone. I mean, you know
- 22:07Speaker 1: what watching the Sopranos, I mean, I was telling you
- 22:10Speaker 1: I watched it through COVID again and it's still such
- 22:13Speaker 1: a brilliant, brilliant series. It's like social brilliant show, even
- 22:17Speaker 1: twenty twenty five years later, and you come get so
- 22:21Speaker 1: connected to the characters. It's like, you know, I couldn't
- 22:24Speaker 1: wait to come and watch the show. I remember when
- 22:26Speaker 1: I first came on, and I'm like, I couldn't wait
- 22:29Speaker 1: to see what happened, and Tony was just like you
- 22:31Speaker 1: just felt felt sorry for him. You felt because you know,
- 22:34Speaker 1: I listened. I grew up in a neighborhood full of gangsters,
- 22:36Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, And listen everybody you know,
- 22:39Speaker 1: you look at them and they're like these movie stars
- 22:41Speaker 1: and then you know, of course you know when that
- 22:44Speaker 1: you know their whole persona. But he showed the human
- 22:47Speaker 1: side of the whole time. That's where it was. So
- 22:50Speaker 1: that's the brilliant, right I was the brilliant writing of
- 22:52Speaker 1: it to show that side. And I always say Lorraine Brocco,
- 22:55Speaker 1: oh my character, But her character to me, if she
- 23:01Speaker 1: wasn't on the show, and there weren't the sessions, you
- 23:04Speaker 1: wouldn't know all that was going on. What makes a meaning?
- 23:08Speaker 1: Where he's coming from, and understanding that you are a
- 23:12Speaker 1: victim of circumstance. A child is put into a situation.
- 23:16Speaker 1: He was put in the situation by his father, so
- 23:19Speaker 1: you start to understand him, and that's why you grew
- 23:21Speaker 1: a love for him. And I had professes, people from
- 23:25Speaker 1: all walks of life coming up to me going, oh
- 23:26Speaker 1: my god, the show is brilliant. You know when it
- 23:29Speaker 1: was out all walks of life. It doesn't matter. You
- 23:31Speaker 1: could have had been graduated Harvard and Tony was such
- 23:38Speaker 1: a character that you just were. He had such magnetism,
- 23:43Speaker 1: charismatic and empathy and vulnerabilities that you got to see
- 23:51Speaker 1: in the sessions what Lorraine speaking about his mother and
- 23:56Speaker 1: so you grew this. You need to shoot him up.
- 24:00Speaker 1: You don't care about You don't see that the human
- 24:03Speaker 1: side of him and and the famili side of him.
- 24:06Speaker 1: And it also teaches us that in life too, bring
- 24:10Speaker 1: it to life. Like just for instance, people say you
- 24:15Speaker 1: just said, well, I don't think that you didn't say
- 24:17Speaker 1: anything bad you're saying. I think they're more business people,
- 24:19Speaker 1: the Gardashians. How do we really know who a person is?
- 24:25Speaker 1: All of us we all have something on the back burner.
- 24:29Speaker 1: The guy who sweeping the streets could be a brilliant
- 24:34Speaker 1: artist and can have a house full of art. We'll
- 24:36Speaker 1: never know because all we see is him sweeping the street.
- 24:39Speaker 1: We don't see that what he has on the back burner.
- 24:42Speaker 1: We all have something that is the real us, not
- 24:48Speaker 1: what we showhow the projectory, I think what we don't
- 24:52Speaker 1: see is who we are and what we show is
- 24:56Speaker 1: is just what we what we show and what people
- 24:59Speaker 1: don't is what we protect and who we really are.
- 25:02Speaker 1: And you know, I feel like that's with Tony back
- 25:08Speaker 1: to the Sopranos. Could you imagine if we all exposed
- 25:12Speaker 1: our therapy sessions to the world, people that didn't like
- 25:15Speaker 1: you may have a little empathy for you. I'd been
- 25:17Speaker 1: probably they may understand you, but they may understand you
- 25:21Speaker 1: more your therapy session that really understand your deep dok, hurts,
- 25:26Speaker 1: your secrets, what went on and your childhood, and really
- 25:30Speaker 1: have a real understanding of you see your see the definition,
- 25:33Speaker 1: what defines you in your life? Were brought you to
- 25:35Speaker 1: where where where you are today? That's what was showing
- 25:38Speaker 1: what Tony was showing where exactly but all of us, yes,
- 25:42Speaker 1: brought us to who we are and that's why he
- 25:44Speaker 1: was so relatable as a character. Yeah, you know they
- 25:46Speaker 1: say hurt people, hurt people. Yes, if you're in that
- 25:50Speaker 1: guy's session, you'll see why. You know, you'll hear why,
- 25:52Speaker 1: you'll understand more. So I think that whole concept of
- 25:57Speaker 1: viewing to me, that was the most important part was
- 26:00Speaker 1: a brilliant family to the family family, brilliant, brilliant, but brilliant.
- 26:07Speaker 1: He had to put a hat on to be the father,
- 26:10Speaker 1: the son, the son to Olivia, the nephew to the
- 26:15Speaker 1: He had to serve everybody, and all these different parts
- 26:19Speaker 1: were working. And I think we identified with that because
- 26:23Speaker 1: that's what we do. That we have different relationships to
- 26:27Speaker 1: each person with different I'm different here today, then I'm
- 26:30Speaker 1: gonna be, you know, in my doctor's office with a
- 26:33Speaker 1: doctor or you know whatever. There's so many different parts
- 26:37Speaker 1: to us. That's what we that's what we related to subconsciously,
- 26:44Speaker 1: if you go into a deep subconsciously, that's what we
- 26:47Speaker 1: related to. That's true. I agree. I think that what
- 26:50Speaker 1: you're saying is one hundred percent. It's just you. You saw,
- 26:54Speaker 1: you saw his human side, and that's how you related
- 26:57Speaker 1: to him exactly. That's what that amazing. He would have
- 27:01Speaker 1: just been a gangs stuff. That's it, period, the story,
- 27:03Speaker 1: that's it, that's it. You were, but it was more
- 27:06Speaker 1: than that. He was. He had a heart even though
- 27:08Speaker 1: he killed, He had empathy, even though you know he
- 27:12Speaker 1: was vicious, and so I find that so interesting. Yeah,
- 27:17Speaker 1: he was a very like you said, he was an
- 27:20Speaker 1: interesting character and you play and your character was was great.
- 27:24Speaker 1: We just listen. Love the show. One of my favorites.
- 27:27Speaker 1: And it's funny. Like I said, the other night, I
- 27:30Speaker 1: walk in after the day that I first met you
- 27:32Speaker 1: in person. My son in law was watching it, and
- 27:35Speaker 1: of course it was it was a scene that you
- 27:37Speaker 1: were and I'm like, oh my god, there's my friend,
- 27:39Speaker 1: my new friends, right, and it's just amazing that you
- 27:42Speaker 1: I was just amazing that you were part of it.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Don't you feel like that was like it's I feel
- 27:46Speaker 1: very lucky that. I feel lucky that my career when
- 27:50Speaker 1: I think about my career, that I was part of
- 27:55Speaker 1: everything I did turn out to be iconic. Yes, like
- 27:58Speaker 1: a Bronx tale, Sopranos, uh Or worked with iconic people
- 28:05Speaker 1: like even the Irish was working with SCORSESEI Or I
- 28:08Speaker 1: worked with you, Jackman. I did a movie called Oh God.
- 28:16Speaker 1: It was on HBO. Educated something, I've got the name
- 28:19Speaker 1: of it. I forgot the name of it. Don't Don't
- 28:22Speaker 1: kill Me, you know, working with you, Jacklin, you know
- 28:24Speaker 1: Clinti's put up. I felt like every time I did something,
- 28:27Speaker 1: I got to work with somebody iconic or something that
- 28:31Speaker 1: turned out to be iconic, like you know you you
- 28:35Speaker 1: you lived, you lived, You've lived an amazing life. And
- 28:39Speaker 1: just the people that you work with, it's just like,
- 28:41Speaker 1: oh my god, it's just jam packed even God godfather
- 28:44Speaker 1: holem right now. The series that I'm on now, I
- 28:46Speaker 1: love working with Vincent's and Offrio. Jaz was on that too.
- 28:51Speaker 1: There's so many great people on that show. Was Fitza
- 28:53Speaker 1: never on this? He was never on the Sopranos? Right, No,
- 28:56Speaker 1: his sister was, right, well, Janie was that There wasn't
- 29:00Speaker 1: Johanna's sister isn't. Oh she's what's his name to? Yeah,
- 29:06Speaker 1: right to sister. I met him in a Yankee game once.
- 29:10Speaker 1: It's not funny. He was sitting in front of me,
- 29:13Speaker 1: not sister, cousin, cousin. Oh, I thought there was sister.
- 29:16Speaker 1: That's yeah. Do you still talk to a lot of
- 29:18Speaker 1: the casts you still? I still talked to Yes, I
- 29:22Speaker 1: talked to Dre. I keep in touch with the kids
- 29:26Speaker 1: they have they have. I did their podcast, Vinnie past
- 29:30Speaker 1: Stores like my brother you know that. Yeah, Pussy, I
- 29:37Speaker 1: talked to still, Johnny v Artie, Bugo, a k A. ALTI.
- 29:42Speaker 1: I still stay in to show them. But I'm thrilled
- 29:46Speaker 1: to I want to give my new movie. We want
- 29:48Speaker 1: to Yes, I just did a movie. I wrapped a
- 29:51Speaker 1: movie called Alto Nights. Barry Levinson directed it. I'm playing
- 29:56Speaker 1: Denarro's wife again. That's the before now and that's gonna
- 29:59Speaker 1: be a big movie that's coming out in November. That's
- 30:01Speaker 1: Warner Brothers. That's their baby movie. That's their baby, and
- 30:07Speaker 1: it's gonna be a big movie. De Niro plays two people.
- 30:10Speaker 1: He's playing Vito Genoviez and Frank. We'll see other gangs stuff. No,
- 30:18Speaker 1: not for Genevieve from Staten Island. Was the one who's
- 30:21Speaker 1: playing for Vito Genevieves and Castellana Costellanos. But no, not Castano, No, no,
- 30:29Speaker 1: not Castellano. Frank. Oh god, somebody helped me. So you
- 30:34Speaker 1: need a person here, and I go pull pull it
- 30:37Speaker 1: up because we're playing two people. Yes, but it's it's
- 30:41Speaker 1: it's it's gonna be an amazing movie. I'm really excited
- 30:44Speaker 1: about it. Deborah Messing an eye at as and it's
- 30:49Speaker 1: gonna be a really good, big movie. And I love
- 30:51Speaker 1: Barry working with Barry Levins, he's amazing director. Yes, I
- 30:55Speaker 1: worked put him on Wizital Eyes, where I played de
- 30:57Speaker 1: Niro's secretary from that matter, secretary if you're not married
- 31:01Speaker 1: to And what what other roles have you played with
- 31:04Speaker 1: him besides his wife and his secretary irishman, irishman. D're
- 31:10Speaker 1: his wife's friend and his friend his wife friend best
- 31:16Speaker 1: friends friends? Yeah? Uh. And then I did a series
- 31:21Speaker 1: movie of the Week for him. It was Believe It
- 31:24Speaker 1: or Not the Sammy Sammy the Bowl mini series that
- 31:28Speaker 1: was on My, ABC or NBC. Uh. Tom Sizemore played
- 31:32Speaker 1: Simi the Bowl and I was in that. I played
- 31:35Speaker 1: Michael Imperioli's wife. But he produced that. So yeah, so
- 31:41Speaker 1: you have you have a lot of a lot of
- 31:43Speaker 1: history at him. Yeah. So this this, this is a
- 31:45Speaker 1: good time to bring you to a game that we
- 31:47Speaker 1: want to play. Oh so I'm gonna say, let's say
- 31:50Speaker 1: I don't know if I want to do let's first,

- 32:34Speaker 1: married Bob. Okay, I fuck out, fuck school sesse, kill

- 34:16Speaker 1: say that, which one would you marry? That's interesting? So
- 34:19Speaker 1: we can do that too, So which one to think about?
- 34:21Speaker 1: That ship? So take out Tony Sirico and Tony you
- 34:27Speaker 1: have to totally have to marry James and kill kill

- 35:53Speaker 1: of my favorites. I love him, I love I love him.
- 35:56Speaker 1: He's very They're so talented on this show. I love
- 35:59Speaker 1: working on this And Chris Boncado, the creator, also did
- 36:04Speaker 1: the one the cocaine show, The Knuckles Knocks. Now he's
- 36:08Speaker 1: got a new one, Cocaine House something Cocaine cowboys, not
- 36:12Speaker 1: cocaine Cowboys. I know what youre talking about. Cocaine's Netflix.
- 36:15Speaker 1: All right, I need I need to ask you this
- 36:18Speaker 1: is a good question, and this is deep. This is deep.
- 36:23Speaker 1: You ready, this is already? Okay, lay it on me.
- 36:26Speaker 1: If you were in a room, Oh should I take
- 36:29Speaker 1: my jacket off? I want everybody to think about this.
- 36:32Speaker 1: If you were all le you were in a room
- 36:36Speaker 1: with everyone you've ever met in your entire life, who
- 36:41Speaker 1: would be the one you would look for? Dead or alive? Wow,
- 36:47Speaker 1: with everyone you've ever met your entire life, that's amazing.
- 36:51Speaker 1: I would have. I probably would say my my father
- 36:54Speaker 1: and my mother because they're both passed away. Oh me too. Okay,
- 36:58Speaker 1: I got another one. If someone gave you this one
- 37:02Speaker 1: I loved. I can't wag so much. If someone gave
- 37:05Speaker 1: you a box with everything you've ever lost in it,
- 37:13Speaker 1: what would be the one thing you'd want to find
- 37:16Speaker 1: in it? So it's gonna be everything you've ever lost,
- 37:22Speaker 1: possessions or people, no possessions. What did I have? Is okay?
- 37:27Speaker 1: It would probably be my mother's ring I got slapped
- 37:30Speaker 1: off my hands at a party. In question, Yeah, slapped off.
- 37:33Speaker 1: I never found it again, so I would want to
- 37:35Speaker 1: find that. I would want to find that. Oh my god,
- 37:38Speaker 1: what do you like these questions? I love them. There's
- 37:40Speaker 1: a great question. Okay, if you had a chance to
- 37:43Speaker 1: relive one day of your life, your entire life, what
- 37:48Speaker 1: day would it be meeting you? So effects? Maybe my
- 37:59Speaker 1: new friend? I love that. Okay. If you can receive
- 38:05Speaker 1: a letter from your future self, future self, futureself, what
- 38:10Speaker 1: advice or insight would you hope to find in it? Hmmm,
- 38:15Speaker 1: oh my future? Uh, get rid of all the get
- 38:19Speaker 1: rid of all the men that bring you drama. That
- 38:22Speaker 1: would probably be get rid of get rid of anybody
- 38:25Speaker 1: who brings your drama, the men especially. So picka. Choose
- 38:28Speaker 1: your new sweethearts, yes, Pica, choose my new sweethearts. Now,
- 38:32Speaker 1: don't glorify them, don't put them. I always say, don't
- 38:35Speaker 1: make a man more than what he is, less than
- 38:37Speaker 1: what he is, See him for what he is, don't
- 38:39Speaker 1: put him on a pedest Still, don't make it because remember,
- 38:42Speaker 1: I don't know we have a I don't even know
- 38:44Speaker 1: if I'm saying it right, but this is my slang.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Don't correct me. Don't make anybody like we make every
- 38:52Speaker 1: big o' mosse. Yes, yeah, I'm probably saying it wrong,
- 38:56Speaker 1: or the dialect slang I'm fucking it up more than
- 39:03Speaker 1: what they are. And then you make them something they're not,
- 39:07Speaker 1: and then when they don't turn out to be that,
- 39:09Speaker 1: it's a disappointment. It's a disappointment. When they show you
- 39:11Speaker 1: the red red flags, we put it down. Look for
- 39:14Speaker 1: the green flags instead of instead of what not ignoring
- 39:19Speaker 1: the red flags? Yeah, don't yeah, don't ignore you see
- 39:21Speaker 1: the red flag? Run? I know that's what I Okay,
- 39:25Speaker 1: if you now another relive, if you could relive one
- 39:30Speaker 1: day in your past that you regret doing something. Maybe
- 39:38Speaker 1: you don't want to say it, but what day would
- 39:40Speaker 1: that be, and what would you change differently to redo
- 39:43Speaker 1: that day? Thank God, there's a couple of days like that.
- 39:47Speaker 1: I would probably say the day I don't I mean,
- 39:53Speaker 1: I don't know if I would say I regret it,
- 39:55Speaker 1: because then I wouldn't have my children. I would say
- 39:57Speaker 1: I would probably relive it. I would say maybe maybe
- 40:02Speaker 1: maybe finds a better person to marry. I don't know.
- 40:04Speaker 1: I guess the day I got married I did that
- 40:06Speaker 1: turned my life around. Is when I got married and
- 40:09Speaker 1: I wound up, you know, and I had my children.
- 40:12Speaker 1: So I don't want to I don't know if I
- 40:13Speaker 1: want to say that I should take that back. Something
- 40:15Speaker 1: that I would want to change. I think the day
- 40:18Speaker 1: that my that my that my my mother died, I
- 40:21Speaker 1: wasn't there that day she died. Oh I can't, That's
- 40:23Speaker 1: what I said. I wish I didn't leave the house
- 40:26Speaker 1: today my mother died. You know, it was not home.
- 40:29Speaker 1: You know. It was funny. I was the only one
- 40:31Speaker 1: there when my father died, and I was the only
- 40:32Speaker 1: one not there when my mother. It is not weird
- 40:35Speaker 1: because I have five brothers. There's five of us, and
- 40:37Speaker 1: I was the only one that my dad the only girl. No,
- 40:40Speaker 1: I have two sisters and one passed away. I told you, Yeah,
- 40:44Speaker 1: so let me tell you something. Losing his sister was
- 40:46Speaker 1: worth I thought losing my parents were bed. It was like,
- 40:49Speaker 1: I mean, can a child can't? No, nothing's worse than
- 40:52Speaker 1: a child, I'm sure up, But losing my sister was
- 40:54Speaker 1: like losing a part of Oh shit, horrible. But yeah,
- 40:57Speaker 1: I think I wish that I would have been my
- 40:59Speaker 1: when my mother was That's what I would Okay, what
- 41:01Speaker 1: would it be? And how does it? This is No,
- 41:07Speaker 1: it's good, I liked it. Wait, how is it doing
- 41:13Speaker 1: a sex scene? Like? That's what I how awkward? Awkward?
- 41:18Speaker 1: Fucking it's awkward. Do you feel it. I got to
- 41:20Speaker 1: do that sex scene with Jim awkward. First of all,
- 41:23Speaker 1: they got to put tape on the guy's b shitty
- 41:25Speaker 1: ill why because they hold it up. If you're on
- 41:27Speaker 1: top of somebody in your rubin, you're gonna get a
- 41:29Speaker 1: heart on. Whether you're trap it through the woman or not,
- 41:31Speaker 1: that's just the man's makeup. So you don't want to
- 41:34Speaker 1: feel fucking heart on while they're on top of you,
- 41:37Speaker 1: and you're like awkward because everybody's looking at you. You
- 41:43Speaker 1: turned on with him, no, but you're around a bunch
- 41:46Speaker 1: of people and I had already boogo on the side
- 41:48Speaker 1: of the bed, so I kind of felt very uncomfortable.
- 41:53Speaker 1: And then I had a sex scene with with Michael
- 41:57Speaker 1: Rispoli in a movie I did called Two Family House
- 42:00Speaker 1: and it wasn't even really a sexy and we were
- 42:02Speaker 1: under a sheet and it was we were laughing, but
- 42:05Speaker 1: it's still awkward. It's not everybody's watching what's going on?
- 42:09Speaker 1: Ye yeah, it's gotta be awkward. So it's not there's
- 42:12Speaker 1: nothing sexy about it. There's nothing sexy about it. No, okay,
- 42:17Speaker 1: So that we're gonna play the next game, then yeah, okay,
- 42:20Speaker 1: this is okay. This is a good one. Okay. So
- 42:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you a line that this is what
- 42:26Speaker 1: These are all your lines from movies, shows, whatever you did.
- 42:29Speaker 1: So you're gonna tell me where, what show or what

- 43:26Speaker 1: you got Okay, skill sets, Okay, personally with the styles today.
- 43:30Speaker 1: I think that that they wait, they all make women

- 45:11Speaker 1: was the is a good question. I should wish I
- 45:12Speaker 1: had more raw lines? Now? Should we should have more lines?
- 45:15Speaker 1: What's your favorite Italian slang word? What's my favorite? I mean,
- 45:20Speaker 1: I guess I don't know. But is that a slang
- 45:24Speaker 1: that's not a slang that's an actual talking Italian rights? Yeah,
- 45:29Speaker 1: they think it's slang. Other people think if you grow
- 45:32Speaker 1: up with slangs in Brooklyn, like you had your own
- 45:34Speaker 1: little slangs that you used. Like about it? Like you
- 45:38Speaker 1: give them too much bands? Uh confidence confidence, by the way,
- 45:44Speaker 1: I would be uh, I like, forget about it, you
- 45:47Speaker 1: know things like that? What else? So I like, did
- 45:50Speaker 1: you grow up in a very Italian household? Oh? My
- 45:52Speaker 1: godial Italian? My father was from My father was born
- 45:56Speaker 1: in Italy. Yeah, my father was born another my grandma.
- 46:00Speaker 1: It was the typical Italian from Ellis Island with the
- 46:03Speaker 1: bun on her head and the black drives. She lived
- 46:05Speaker 1: in the house. She lived in the house, and my
- 46:08Speaker 1: my mother's mother, who was a fashion designer and very
- 46:12Speaker 1: young because my mother was seventeen years apart. So the wait,
- 46:15Speaker 1: your grandmother was a fashion sign my grandmother and she
- 46:18Speaker 1: she worked for Henry Bendell. Yeah, she was and showing
- 46:22Speaker 1: had one child, so she was like the progressive grandmother.
- 46:25Speaker 1: So we were used to that grandmother. But then when
- 46:28Speaker 1: when my father's mom came up, I wasn't alive then,
- 46:31Speaker 1: but there's a funny story. But I was still I
- 46:33Speaker 1: was still a twinkle in my dad's eye. But she
- 46:36Speaker 1: came to move in with us. When my sister and brother,
- 46:38Speaker 1: they'll tell us the funny story, and was used to talk.
- 46:41Speaker 1: It sounded like she was yelling. And you know, my
- 46:43Speaker 1: sister Mary was used to my my grandmother who was
- 46:46Speaker 1: like this fashionista. And here's this woman screaming and Italian.
- 46:51Speaker 1: She hated her because she's like, she's screaming at us.
- 46:55Speaker 1: She pushed her into she pushed her into a chair,
- 46:58Speaker 1: and my brother told told her she killed her. That
- 47:01Speaker 1: we well because she laughed or something. She went to
- 47:03Speaker 1: good thing. Your sister pushed the grandma. So my brother
- 47:08Speaker 1: always said, do you kill grandma, Dad's gonna kill you.
- 47:11Speaker 1: And my sister was four, but she she my grandmother
- 47:15Speaker 1: went to stay with somebody later on, But my sister
- 47:17Speaker 1: just reconnects it that she pushed her and then she
- 47:19Speaker 1: was gone. Was your mother with a would thinker like
- 47:21Speaker 1: her mother? No? My mother wanted to be and I'm sorry.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Was that your mother's mother? That was my mother's mother,
- 47:27Speaker 1: my mother's mother. My mother wanted to be the opposite
- 47:30Speaker 1: and wanted to have the five children and be the
- 47:32Speaker 1: Susie homemaker. What was she did she work? No? But
- 47:36Speaker 1: my mother was very intelligent and she was a writer
- 47:38Speaker 1: and she should have when she write. She used to
- 47:41Speaker 1: write short stories and she played the piano. But I
- 47:43Speaker 1: can't even believe my mother was a poet. Isn't that crazy?
- 47:45Speaker 1: And my mother played the piano Belulifield like I used
- 47:47Speaker 1: to come out my mother with playing chowpan. I love that?
- 47:50Speaker 1: You want to hear? I can't. I gotta go back
- 47:52Speaker 1: to that. Do you want to hear a poem my
- 47:55Speaker 1: mother wrote I loved before she died. That is insane.
- 48:00Speaker 1: It goes, it's quick, it goes from it's because have
- 48:04Speaker 1: you ever felt that the person a person you lost.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Your father and mother are in the room, and you
- 48:11Speaker 1: get like a chill lessons, Yep, you get the pricklies
- 48:15Speaker 1: on the back. My mother wrote a poem that goes
- 48:19Speaker 1: from far away as conceivable. I have come like a
- 48:24Speaker 1: breeze in the night. I have passed through your soul.
- 48:28Speaker 1: My touch is light, almost non existent, but I am
- 48:34Speaker 1: too real to be ignored. Oh I just got chills
- 48:37Speaker 1: from you saying that that's beautiful. Yeah, and that's the
- 48:40Speaker 1: way it feels. That's amazing. What a beautiful poem. Yeah.
- 48:46Speaker 1: So wait, your mother would be playing chopin when I
- 48:48Speaker 1: would come home from school. You know what's crazy? And
- 48:50Speaker 1: my father did never graduate in high school, isn't that? Yeah? Yeah,
- 48:55Speaker 1: I got that. But I love that because cultured my
- 49:02Speaker 1: mother too. My mother all her friends were from down
- 49:04Speaker 1: like a lot of her friends were from the neighborhood
- 49:06Speaker 1: from Harlem. But she had a friend Phyllis downtown who
- 49:09Speaker 1: was a poet, a painter. We'd go down there and
- 49:11Speaker 1: all these autistic people. My mother would hang out with them,
- 49:14Speaker 1: and my mother sang like you cannot believe. That's in
- 49:18Speaker 1: some of my short stories. That's where I get like
- 49:22Speaker 1: but that's so funny. Your mother didn't too, and she
- 49:24Speaker 1: was autistic. Yeah, very and my father was do I
- 49:26Speaker 1: would dirt underneath his fingernails. You know. He was a
- 49:29Speaker 1: street guy, you know, he was didn't he didn't never graduated,
- 49:33Speaker 1: never graduated high school. They met at a fight in
- 49:36Speaker 1: high school, so he wound he was like the savior,
- 49:39Speaker 1: like there was somebody coming in that started started a
- 49:42Speaker 1: fight with somebody, and my father basically beat up the
- 49:45Speaker 1: guy and he was like the hero and my mother
- 49:49Speaker 1: fell in love. So I was like opposite a tract.
- 49:51Speaker 1: So yeah, so your mother was more refined, very refined,
- 49:55Speaker 1: and she wound up with children that were very loud,
- 49:58Speaker 1: just like my f loud. But everybody was intelligent. I
- 50:02Speaker 1: have to say that everybody went to college. That was
- 50:04Speaker 1: a big deal in my family. My mother, my father
- 50:07Speaker 1: all wanted us to get educations and wanted us to
- 50:09Speaker 1: go to school, and we all did. Everybody went to
- 50:11Speaker 1: college and you know careers and businesses. Yeah, so they
- 50:17Speaker 1: My grandmother, with my grandmother especially my mother's mother, was
- 50:19Speaker 1: very big into that because she felt like, you know,
- 50:22Speaker 1: we were Italian and you know, they would look at
- 50:24Speaker 1: us like how they would look at us, you know
- 50:27Speaker 1: when she very discriminated against. Yes, we were so discriminated against, stereotyped. Yes.
- 50:33Speaker 1: And my sister Mary, who worked for souther Bee's, like
- 50:36Speaker 1: she spoke proper. She would hate if she would hear
- 50:39Speaker 1: me speak like my sister passed away proper. She would
- 50:44Speaker 1: be like, stop talking like that. She goes, she goes,
- 50:46Speaker 1: this is speak speak, don't speak with such an accent.
- 50:50Speaker 1: I'm like, we're married. This is the way I speak.
- 50:52Speaker 1: She would be like, but she would see how they
- 50:54Speaker 1: would discriminate her as being an Italian. Yeah, she worked
- 50:57Speaker 1: for Southbeas for many. He was the riter my sister.
- 51:01Speaker 1: You see, this is what I'm talking about. The backburn. Yeah,
- 51:04Speaker 1: Now your mother was a pianist, is creative. So this
- 51:09Speaker 1: is telling me more about you. So I love that.
- 51:13Speaker 1: And you know, but and I got I mean, like
- 51:15Speaker 1: I said, I my dad was was more rugged and
- 51:19Speaker 1: street like a street guy and that type of that
- 51:22Speaker 1: type of person. But I mean, you know, he was
- 51:24Speaker 1: a awesome guy. You see, I feel the homemance growing.
- 51:30Speaker 1: It's such a home. We have such a homemans, We
- 51:32Speaker 1: have homans and we have a lot of things that
- 51:34Speaker 1: are uncommon. You know, I think that. That's what I
- 51:38Speaker 1: told you. You are a very creative person. Yourself and
- 51:42Speaker 1: your brain is different from other people. I'm telling you,
- 51:46Speaker 1: and I'm getting the smoke blown up. It's very different.
- 51:50Speaker 1: How freaking birward thinker. You're a forward thinking You're not
- 51:55Speaker 1: letting the grass grow under your feet. You're always looking
- 51:58Speaker 1: to move forward. I need to be around forward thinkers.
- 52:02Speaker 1: I can't be about around anybody who doesn't want to
- 52:05Speaker 1: grow or progress progress. I can't be around people like
- 52:09Speaker 1: that either. And I think that's when I wait, it's
- 52:11Speaker 1: not the right of progress for progress. Progress, it's not prostrate,
- 52:17Speaker 1: it's posting progress, press progress. No, yeah, I think that.
- 52:26Speaker 1: That's what I think. From when I was married and
- 52:29Speaker 1: when I was just raising my children, I just said
- 52:32Speaker 1: that to my For me, I just knew that there
- 52:35Speaker 1: was more for me than just that. And I always
- 52:37Speaker 1: still stayed in school even and I made sure I
- 52:40Speaker 1: advanced my education. I am my doctorate now, so it's
- 52:44Speaker 1: like I can't go any further on my education now.
- 52:46Speaker 1: So but it's like, what does that mean? You got
- 52:48Speaker 1: your doctors so I am a nurse practitioner, but I
- 52:51Speaker 1: went further and got my doctorate. So I'm basically a
- 52:54Speaker 1: doctor of nursing, so it's a d n P. Yeah.
- 52:58Speaker 1: So I mean that's that's a that's amazing. Thank you,
- 53:03Speaker 1: thank you, thank you, thank you. And I gotta give
- 53:06Speaker 1: you a standing ovation random a plause I can't say,
- 53:09Speaker 1: so I better not say, because all the cats will
- 53:12Speaker 1: definitely come vicing. But I you know, I just have
- 53:16Speaker 1: to be around people too that are that are progressive
- 53:19Speaker 1: and and and inspiring. I need to be around people
- 53:22Speaker 1: who are fire aspiring. That's what I want to be.
- 53:25Speaker 1: You need to be around We all need to be around.
- 53:26Speaker 1: A person's gonna take you to the next level. If
- 53:28Speaker 1: you're not bringing something to the table that's gonna raise
- 53:31Speaker 1: me up a bit. And and and I can't raise
- 53:36Speaker 1: you up a bit intelligently in a comparation spiritually anyway,
- 53:41Speaker 1: but spiritually spiritually spiritual way, which way watschowy weapon No,
- 53:51Speaker 1: but really, yes, you got to bring something to the table.
- 53:54Speaker 1: And isn't that what you look for in a guy too? Absolutely?
- 53:56Speaker 1: And that's what I feel like in the pair, and
- 53:59Speaker 1: I need something like that in my life. And it's just,
- 54:03Speaker 1: you know, it's a lost cause, not really though, No,
- 54:07Speaker 1: it's not it's just I think that the people I
- 54:10Speaker 1: should say, that's my significant others, they just have to
- 54:14Speaker 1: they have to evolve in themselves. I can't bring them
- 54:16Speaker 1: to their next level, so they have to get themselves
- 54:19Speaker 1: to that. Yeah, but that's not that's right. But then
- 54:22Speaker 1: that's why they're not a good match, because you need
- 54:24Speaker 1: somebody who's already evolved and it's gonna take you to
- 54:27Speaker 1: the next level. Yeah, and that's what I do need.
- 54:30Speaker 1: I mean, look, I I give everybody a chance to
- 54:34Speaker 1: do that. It's just that if you're not, if you
- 54:36Speaker 1: don't have the want to do that, then it's like,
- 54:39Speaker 1: then what's the point. Yeah, it's just I think that
- 54:42Speaker 1: as men, as they get older, they become so complacent
- 54:45Speaker 1: and so lazy. They just don't they just don't want
- 54:47Speaker 1: to like bring not just romance, but just anything to
- 54:51Speaker 1: the relationship. They think if you take out the garbage
- 54:52Speaker 1: for you, like, that's that's all they need to do now, right,
- 54:55Speaker 1: you know, you do all the little things. I want
- 54:57Speaker 1: the big things. But that's a certain kind of guy. Yeah,
- 55:00Speaker 1: a supplokal for that certain kind of guy. I need
- 55:02Speaker 1: get out of that circle that you've seeing. The certain
- 55:04Speaker 1: kind of guy in and go to another circle and
- 55:07Speaker 1: find that put yourself on a different kind of environment. Well,
- 55:09Speaker 1: I might talk. I'm single eight years. I'm just were
- 55:13Speaker 1: you ever married? Yes? Hell? Long, quickly, not longer year bad.
- 55:20Speaker 1: But I'm single now eight years and maybe longer, maybe
- 55:24Speaker 1: nine years, and it's very hard for me. I can't.
- 55:27Speaker 1: I want to be with somebody. I want to be
- 55:29Speaker 1: in a relationship, but I feel like, I don't know.
- 55:34Speaker 1: I just feel like I need somebody who's gonna be
- 55:37Speaker 1: like on my level of thinking that I can I
- 55:41Speaker 1: don't know. I feel like you want someone who's gonna
- 55:44Speaker 1: who's gonna excite you emotionally, physically, and mentally. Yeah, it's
- 55:50Speaker 1: very hard. It is hard. I'd got to be alone.
- 55:52Speaker 1: That's saying alone. I say that too. I go, I'd
- 55:56Speaker 1: rather be alone than argue and try to make something
- 56:00Speaker 1: that's not going to work. But look, you know, alone
- 56:03Speaker 1: but not lonely right, alone but not long. Hey, listen,
- 56:06Speaker 1: I have a lot to fill my life whether I
- 56:09Speaker 1: you know, I move forward with who I'm with now,
- 56:13Speaker 1: you know, we'll see what happens. We'll see what happens.
- 56:16Speaker 1: We have to see what happens. The only time will
- 56:17Speaker 1: tell that's right. That's it. I have to I don't
- 56:20Speaker 1: have I don't have a crystal ball. I just know
- 56:21Speaker 1: what I need to do for my what I need
- 56:24Speaker 1: to do it for myself to make myself advance. Are
- 56:27Speaker 1: we good? So tell I have one last question. I
- 56:31Speaker 1: got to ask you last question. Where's my say? I'm
- 56:34Speaker 1: actually looking at my paperwork. I'm very organized. Where's my question?
- 56:38Speaker 1: The last one? Okay? What I know? You want to
- 56:41Speaker 1: talk about your favorite role. I I know you want
- 56:44Speaker 1: to talk about the role that changed you that basically
- 56:48Speaker 1: they took you off like the stereotype of a role
- 56:50Speaker 1: that they would put you in. What would it be
- 56:53Speaker 1: the role that you did the last the last few
- 56:55Speaker 1: roles that you thank you and you love that character.
- 56:58Speaker 1: I love that character. Yeah. First of all, I love
- 57:01Speaker 1: the whole transformation, the blonde hair. We really bleached my hair.
- 57:04Speaker 1: That was fun. And working with Sam Levinson, he's a
- 57:10Speaker 1: genius's working with that Duye and all that whole crew geniuses.
- 57:14Speaker 1: They're all smart, they're all the best of the best
- 57:17Speaker 1: in this business. They're all at the top of their game.
- 57:21Speaker 1: Jacob now in Saltburn, you know, Dune and all these
- 57:26Speaker 1: other great movies, and Sam Levinson is just he's amazing.
- 57:31Speaker 1: I mean, you know, the Levinson's. I just liked that
- 57:35Speaker 1: role because it was out of the box for me.
- 57:38Speaker 1: I don't think anybody else but Sam, because he's got
- 57:41Speaker 1: such a creative mind and he's out of the box
- 57:43Speaker 1: thinker let me do that, you know. And it was
- 57:51Speaker 1: just a lot of fun, you know. Yes, I wasn't
- 57:55Speaker 1: in the kitchen making gravy, you know, and submissive to
- 58:00Speaker 1: my husband. Well, you're definitely not a woman who And
- 58:07Speaker 1: it was fun. And I want to let's go shoot
- 58:10Speaker 1: some dicks tonight. I want to. Oh my god. Well,
- 58:15Speaker 1: on that note, I'm so happy, Catherine that you came
- 58:18Speaker 1: in to come and I'm happy I came, and I'm
- 58:21Speaker 1: happy that I got to actually meet you. And I've,
- 58:25Speaker 1: like I said, I feel connected to you, and I'm
- 58:27Speaker 1: just I'm happy that we're friends. Yeah, me too. I'm excited,
- 58:31Speaker 1: me too, And I want to come out in Brooklyn
