3:11
Speaker 3: sponsored by Almost heaving in tears ANGI, good morning and
3:14
Speaker 3: welcome to the show.
3:15
Speaker 5: Good morning. I'm happy to be a here.
3:17
Speaker 3: Lots going on. Have you had an opportunity to take
3:20
Speaker 3: in the USA Biking event in Charleston at all?
3:24
Speaker 5: I have not because we have been way too busy
3:27
Speaker 5: with the amount of animals we're caring for.
3:29
Speaker 3: And I want to talk about that a little bit
3:31
Speaker 3: later on, but I do want to get to our
3:33
Speaker 3: pet of the week first. As always, picture posted Dave
3:36
Speaker 3: Allen Radio on Facebook and the WCCHS Network Facebook page,
3:40
Speaker 3: as well as at Dave eight seventy on X tell
3:42
Speaker 3: us about Riilo? Is am I pronouncing that right? And
3:45
Speaker 3: where does the name come from? Anytime I hear one
3:49
Speaker 3: of these names, I always refer to you or I
3:51
Speaker 3: look to the glass of producer Ryan to see got
3:53
Speaker 3: anything on Rylo from your world. Okay, he doesn't know it.
3:57
Speaker 3: It's an interesting name, though. Rilo is the dog. Tell
3:59
Speaker 3: us all about Rylo.
4:01
Speaker 5: Uh So, he came to kha as astray. He's about
4:04
Speaker 5: four years old. He is already neutered and up to
4:07
Speaker 5: date on his vaccines. He plays best with female dogs.
4:12
Speaker 5: He's not really a guys guy. He really likes two eighties.
4:16
Speaker 5: He is housebroken, and we would probably advise a home
4:19
Speaker 5: with older children ten and up just because he is.
4:22
Speaker 5: Uh he does have some of those stranger danger qualities
4:25
Speaker 5: where he's not a big fan of you know, a
4:27
Speaker 5: lot of loud noises and people coming in all that.
4:31
Speaker 5: But he is an excellent dog. And like I said,
4:33
Speaker 5: his adoptions he has been sponsored. He's zero dollars to
4:36
Speaker 5: take home.
4:37
Speaker 3: And just because you say that he's not a fan of,
4:40
Speaker 3: you know, maybe necessarily loud noises or things that. And
4:42
Speaker 3: it doesn't mean he's a bad dog. You're just you're
4:44
Speaker 3: just kind of warning people that. And look, you can
4:47
Speaker 3: put him with a young kid and he may be
4:49
Speaker 3: just fine, but just to be on the safe side,
4:50
Speaker 3: or maybe maybe you know, bring if you have a child,
4:53
Speaker 3: bring your child up there, and you know, kind of
4:55
Speaker 3: kind of test it out a little bit.
4:57
Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely, you know, we the or the behavior that
5:01
Speaker 5: he has may change in a different environment. The shelter
5:04
Speaker 5: is pretty loud and noisy, yes, yeah, not the place
5:07
Speaker 5: that dogs really thrive, if you will, So all of
5:11
Speaker 5: these things may change in a home environment. He may
5:14
Speaker 5: love kids, and he may you know, love every dog
5:17
Speaker 5: he sees. But those are the things we know now.
5:20
Speaker 5: So if you are thinking about Rylo and you want to,
5:24
Speaker 5: you know, kind of ask questions about your home life
5:28
Speaker 5: with him, we are absolutely happy to do meet and
5:31
Speaker 5: greets and you know, walk you through how that should look.
5:34
Speaker 3: And we'll talk about Rylo a little bit later on again.
5:36
Speaker 3: If you want to see his picture, go over to
5:38
Speaker 3: Dave Allan Radio on Facebook or had Dave a seventy
5:40
Speaker 3: on x also in the WCHS network Facebook page. You
5:44
Speaker 3: got some good and some not.
5:46
Speaker 6: Well.
5:46
Speaker 3: Don't want to say bad news this week, Angie, because
5:49
Speaker 3: let's start with the good news. But it's created a
5:51
Speaker 3: little bit of a problem, but we'll get through it.
5:53
Speaker 3: Talk about the good news you got this week. You
5:54
Speaker 3: got a new veterinarian coming to the shelter.
5:57
Speaker 5: We do have a new veterinarian. She will be starting soon.
6:02
Speaker 5: I won't share her name or anything just yet until
6:05
Speaker 5: she gets a formal introduction, but we're super excited she
6:08
Speaker 5: should be starting. I think it was mid or late July,
6:13
Speaker 5: so that is really exciting. Fix Charleston, our low cost
6:15
Speaker 5: spay neuter clinic is going to be operational again. So
6:19
Speaker 5: we're very excited to number one, have her join our staff,
6:23
Speaker 5: but also get back to helping spae and neuter and
6:27
Speaker 5: vaccinate the community animals that need our help, that already
6:30
Speaker 5: have a place to call home, but you know, just
6:33
Speaker 5: need that extra help with SPAE, nooter, vaccines, medicines, things
6:37
Speaker 5: like that.
6:38
Speaker 3: All right, So that's the good news. And again the
6:40
Speaker 3: other news is, I guess I don't want to say
6:42
Speaker 3: it's a good problem to have. I'll let you explain it.
6:44
Speaker 3: But you know you're gonna have some over crowding issues.
6:47
Speaker 7: Now.
6:47
Speaker 3: You already have over crowding issues, Now you can have
6:49
Speaker 3: more over crowding issues.
6:51
Speaker 5: Yes. So I've worked at the shelter for about seven years.
6:55
Speaker 5: The number of animals that we're caring for right now
6:58
Speaker 5: is the highest I have seen in that seven year period.
7:01
Speaker 5: We're about twenty to twenty five animals away from hitting
7:05
Speaker 5: six hundred animals in our care, which is an insane amount.
7:11
Speaker 5: And we have been using our fixed Charleston kennels as
7:14
Speaker 5: an overflow space for these dogs that need us, that
7:17
Speaker 5: need to come in. But with six Charleston opening back up,
7:22
Speaker 5: and you know the public animals needing those kennels while
7:26
Speaker 5: they're there for surgery or what have you, that means
7:30
Speaker 5: the animal shelter kseha, we cannot use those overflow kennels.
7:35
Speaker 5: So right now, I think les yesterday we had about
7:37
Speaker 5: eleven dogs in those overflow kennels, so you could say
7:41
Speaker 5: we're technically negative eleven on spacing for dogs.
7:44
Speaker 3: And I know that you put them in offices and
7:47
Speaker 3: the ones that can can be in those environments of course,
7:49
Speaker 3: and you guys over the years have put them a
7:52
Speaker 3: lot of different places up there.
7:54
Speaker 5: Yeah, so anywhere that a dog can safely live, we
7:57
Speaker 5: will put them. We have, you know, dogs living in
8:00
Speaker 5: bathrooms our offices. Like you said, we actually also have
8:04
Speaker 5: a dog. He is a smaller dog, so it's not
8:06
Speaker 5: a huge issue, but he is living in a pop
8:09
Speaker 5: up crate, which is just you know, typical dog crate
8:12
Speaker 5: you put your dog in when you go to work.
8:14
Speaker 5: He's living in one of those because we have no
8:16
Speaker 5: kennel for.
8:16
Speaker 3: Him right well, and you know, obviously we want to
8:18
Speaker 3: get some of these animals adopted, Angie, but just doing
8:21
Speaker 3: some fostering would help you guys out a little bit too.
8:25
Speaker 5: Yes, absolutely, so fostering is a great way to help
8:28
Speaker 5: us without you know, getting that tenure commitment to the
8:30
Speaker 5: animal that you're taking home. Fostering is very short term
8:34
Speaker 5: if you want it to be, and we get a
8:36
Speaker 5: lot of information of how they are in a home,
8:38
Speaker 5: which in turn, can you know, catch somebody's eye that
8:42
Speaker 5: you know, this dog is confirmed good with cat's kids
8:45
Speaker 5: and other dogs. He came to my house. I know
8:47
Speaker 5: that that can catch the eye of an adopter.
8:49
Speaker 3: And that's where you get that information from because as
8:51
Speaker 3: you said before, so it's really hard for you folks
8:54
Speaker 3: to be able to tell the personality of an animal
8:56
Speaker 3: when they're at the shelter, you know, I mean, And
9:00
Speaker 3: so when they get into somebody's home or apartment or
9:03
Speaker 3: whatever and they get to you know, go out in
9:05
Speaker 3: the yard or whatever, their personalities, Angie, are totally going
9:08
Speaker 3: to change.
9:10
Speaker 5: Yes, absolutely, they one hundred percent.
9:12
Speaker 3: Are you have an overabundance of cats too, right.
9:16
Speaker 5: Yeah, so cats we the cats are I've.
9:21
Speaker 3: Got her flustered already.
9:23
Speaker 5: Yeah, the cats are typically not a huge issue. They
9:26
Speaker 5: get it offted very quickly. Okay, we have cats literally
9:30
Speaker 5: everywhere in our building, which is again the first time
9:32
Speaker 5: I've seen that of every single place to put cats
9:35
Speaker 5: is full. Plus there are hundreds more out in foster care.
9:39
Speaker 5: So and then there were some dropped in a crate
9:41
Speaker 5: this morning when we got to the shelter. So it's
9:43
Speaker 5: just a never ending cycle for us with cats, other.
9:46
Speaker 3: Than fostering an adoption. What are you folks in need
9:49
Speaker 3: of right now as far as supplies go, because I
9:51
Speaker 3: know you know, with all this over abundance of animals
9:53
Speaker 3: that you're that you've got there, you're going to have
9:55
Speaker 3: a lot of needs from the cleaning supplies and the
9:58
Speaker 3: foods and so on and so forth. Is there any
10:00
Speaker 3: certain thing right now?
10:02
Speaker 5: Right now, we have a lot of mouths to feed,
10:05
Speaker 5: So any type of purina dry food product, any type
10:08
Speaker 5: of wet food for cats or dogs. It can be
10:11
Speaker 5: any brand, We're not picky. And then we're always going
10:14
Speaker 5: to need cleaning supplies such as laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid,
10:18
Speaker 5: paper towels. If you can clean less, it will take it.
10:20
Speaker 3: You guys out anywhere this weekend.
10:23
Speaker 5: Tonight, we're actually going to be at Hagey's Irish Pub
10:26
Speaker 5: downtown there from five to seven pm.
10:29
Speaker 3: All right, So if you're going to be out at
10:31
Speaker 3: about it and everybody is between Live on the Levee
10:33
Speaker 3: and the racing and everything going on Charleston, go to
10:36
Speaker 3: Hagey's Irish Pub. So you'll be down there, you know,
10:39
Speaker 3: I mean with some animals. I should say, well, I
10:42
Speaker 3: mean you got the animals that bar there with you, right,
10:43
Speaker 3: I mean they can just order order up a stout
10:45
Speaker 3: or something, right. We don't recommend that. A couple of
10:49
Speaker 3: texts for you, text Angie, is there any info on
10:52
Speaker 3: the dogs that were left in the apartments while their
10:54
Speaker 3: owner was in jail for a week.
10:58
Speaker 5: There? What's funny about that? There's a couple different situations
11:02
Speaker 5: that are that. I'm not sure which particular situation they
11:07
Speaker 5: are referring to. However, I know all of the groups
11:11
Speaker 5: that came in like that are still at the shelter.
11:13
Speaker 5: We do have to hold them on a mandatory hold,
11:16
Speaker 5: and then once that holds up they can be placed
11:18
Speaker 5: available for adoption. So as of right now they are
11:21
Speaker 5: still on their mandatory hold, but will be available soon
11:24
Speaker 5: if no one comes.
11:25
Speaker 8: To get them.
11:26
Speaker 3: Text once to know are there any updates on the
11:28
Speaker 3: status of a new shelter.
11:30
Speaker 5: So we are in the works. That is officially going
11:34
Speaker 5: to launch here soon. You can see the details for that,
11:37
Speaker 5: I'm sure probably everywhere once it does launch. But the
11:40
Speaker 5: new shelter will be happening, but we will need the
11:42
Speaker 5: community support to make that happen.
11:44
Speaker 8: All right.
11:45
Speaker 3: In the final text for you says that they suggest
11:47
Speaker 3: getting with the school board or with the County Commission,
11:50
Speaker 3: possibly getting some of those portable classrooms that are not
11:52
Speaker 3: being used.
11:54
Speaker 5: Yeah, that could be a possibility. However, I am not
11:58
Speaker 5: sure where we would put it on our property because
12:01
Speaker 5: if it's not a flood zone, then it's a space
12:03
Speaker 5: that absolutely is necessary for the public to use for parking.
12:07
Speaker 5: So but I can mention that and we can try
12:09
Speaker 5: to work something out as we always do.
12:11
Speaker 3: So all right, Angie, I appreciate it, and we'll talk
12:14
Speaker 3: again next week. Thanks a lot.
12:16
Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely, thank you, Angie.
12:18
Speaker 3: Gillingwater Canal Charleston. You made association with this week's Adopt
12:20
Speaker 3: Me Please Pet of the Week. Rilo is his name.
12:23
Speaker 3: You can see his picture and to Dave Allan Radio
12:25
Speaker 3: at the WCCHS network Facebook pages as well, and that
12:28
Speaker 3: Dave a seventy one X. Rilo is around seventy pounds.
12:32
Speaker 3: He's neutered, he's housebroken. We'd probably do best with female dogs,
12:36
Speaker 3: and around four years old, so he's a beautiful dog.
12:39
Speaker 3: Go take a look at his picture. Better yet, adopt
12:41
Speaker 3: Rilo foster some of these animals. Do what you can

Speaker 3: That's the sounds of the official party band of the
15:50
Speaker 3: Dave Allen Show, Amus Steel. They'll be out at about
15:52
Speaker 3: a lot of places this summer, so be sure and
15:54
Speaker 3: check them out when you can. It is nine to
15:56
Speaker 3: twenty four. Coming up a little bit later. Roberge've talked
15:58
Speaker 3: to Taylor gew from the Center. Also Nitro Fireworks. Folks
16:02
Speaker 3: are going to stop by story about that. I bet
16:05
Speaker 3: you you've a good story about everything, but Ave Alan,
16:08
Speaker 3: Joe and five. Any line is broad too, part by
16:09
Speaker 3: Morgan to Morgan, America's largest injury law firm. Look who's here.
16:12
Speaker 3: It's not Jim Strawn in this place, it's Metro News
16:15
Speaker 3: mediaologist Brian Hughes to talk about Live on the Levee.
16:18
Speaker 13: Well, the river came up at uh at the levee
16:20
Speaker 13: of the other day, and all that we found left
16:23
Speaker 13: over was a microphone.
16:25
Speaker 3: Jim Strong was gone, He's please don't say that strawn
16:30
Speaker 3: is he?
16:31
Speaker 2: He gets it? He likes that joke.
16:34
Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, the only thing. The only thing was a
16:36
Speaker 3: microphone and some hair jail where the fish can't live anymore.
16:40
Speaker 3: And it seemed like there was there was spray tan
16:42
Speaker 3: that was everywhere. The fish came up looking like George
16:46
Speaker 3: Hamilton singing and dancing. Hold on, it's better than algae
16:51
Speaker 3: in the reflecting pond. We just turned this into like
16:57
Speaker 3: open mic night. Joe Meadows, who's not supposed to go
16:59
Speaker 3: on ten o six, is in here hanging out with
17:01
Speaker 3: us as well. All right, Live on the Levee is
17:03
Speaker 3: and I've been I mentioned this earlier. First of all,
17:05
Speaker 3: are we are we clear from the nasty weather?
17:08
Speaker 7: Uesed?
17:08
Speaker 2: Yes, we're clear, We're good, go nothing to worry about everything.
17:11
Speaker 3: Bad day here inst Virginia. A lot of place not
17:13
Speaker 3: as bad as what it coululd have been worse. Yeah,
17:15
Speaker 3: but it was in some areas. It's really not so
17:17
Speaker 3: much in the Kanaw Valley, but other areas of the
17:19
Speaker 3: state right southern west Virginia on places like Calhoun County,
17:23
Speaker 3: some of those places got hit really hard on into
17:25
Speaker 3: Ohio as well.
17:26
Speaker 13: Yeah, you could draw a line from Point Pleasant to
17:28
Speaker 13: Kaiser and you just side that line about forty fifty
17:31
Speaker 13: miles was there was some pretty nasty weather there, and
17:35
Speaker 13: then of course, of course cross parts of Logan County
17:38
Speaker 13: and then down into Riley County. But hey, today the
17:42
Speaker 13: sun is breaking out from those clouds and mostly sunny afternoon.
17:45
Speaker 7: Coy.
17:45
Speaker 3: Now, I mean that video that I shared, and I
17:48
Speaker 3: think it's in the Metro new story from yesterday, I
17:50
Speaker 3: put it on on my page as well, in front
17:52
Speaker 3: of the radio station where I worked for twenty years
17:54
Speaker 3: in Logan. I mean, you're used to seeing things flying
17:56
Speaker 3: around like that in certain areas, but you're not used
17:58
Speaker 3: to just seeing things flying down main Street like it
18:00
Speaker 3: was yesterday.
18:02
Speaker 13: Even main Street was like, noah, we're donating trash cans
18:05
Speaker 13: down down the fourth Avenue.
18:07
Speaker 5: You know.
18:08
Speaker 3: I mean, you know, some of the businesses in Logan
18:10
Speaker 3: are probably thinking, you know, what, what exactly was going
18:12
Speaker 3: on here? We didn't have this on our on our
18:14
Speaker 3: on our Bengo card. No, and there's some really interesting
18:17
Speaker 3: strange businesses in Logan to have been in the.
18:19
Speaker 13: Past, right, I mean, listen, what happened was that was
18:22
Speaker 13: a Freedom Fest clean up?
18:23
Speaker 3: Yeah, well as a start, oh, getting ready for the freak,
18:26
Speaker 3: getting ready for the Yeah.
18:27
Speaker 13: Everybody Mother nature was like, we need to clean this
18:29
Speaker 13: place up a little bit, all right.
18:31
Speaker 3: So all right, So there's so much going on.
18:33
Speaker 6: I know.
18:33
Speaker 3: V one hundred I think, And if I'm wrong about this,
18:35
Speaker 3: you can correct me. I'm trying to keep all of
18:37
Speaker 3: our schedules straight. The next Coupleana it's V one hundred
18:39
Speaker 3: is going to be at Shiney tonight for the movie night,
18:40
Speaker 3: that is correct. The Juneteenth Parade is going on in
18:44
Speaker 3: uh in Charleston. All the other stuff with that at
18:46
Speaker 3: Slack Plaza of course. Uh you know, the bikes tomorrow tour,
18:51
Speaker 3: the Cole and Yakfest, the North South Baseball game. I'm sorry,
18:55
Speaker 3: the basketball games are tonight. Football games will be tomorrow,
18:58
Speaker 3: the garden party with the West Regi News call of
19:00
Speaker 3: Famous Sunday at the South Charleston Farmers Market. Man, it
19:03
Speaker 3: is a lot.
19:04
Speaker 2: It is gonna be a lot.
19:06
Speaker 13: I mean I left downtown this morning to run my
19:09
Speaker 13: doctor's office because I have led poisoning, which.
19:12
Speaker 3: Is, of course, you're right, who has it these days?
19:16
Speaker 8: I do?
19:17
Speaker 3: But I ran, I ran down there. What's next scurvy? Right, Ricketts?
19:24
Speaker 3: If it's gonna happen, it's gonna happen to Brian here.
19:26
Speaker 14: Right.
19:26
Speaker 13: Even my doctor said the same thing. You come in
19:29
Speaker 13: with the weirdest crap at the end.
19:30
Speaker 8: Of this office.
19:32
Speaker 3: You've got he's got a misplaced doppler, strained his doppler.
19:36
Speaker 2: But no, I left town.
19:38
Speaker 13: I left downtown, and I tried to get back to
19:40
Speaker 13: the radio station, and I just ran a block to
19:43
Speaker 13: make sure I could get here on time.
19:45
Speaker 2: So yeah, it's that's the thing.
19:48
Speaker 13: What what Matt has said, what I've said, Matt Sutton, uh,
19:53
Speaker 13: is that if you say there's nothing to do, you're crazy.
19:56
Speaker 3: And just know that that in downtown Charleston today, it
19:59
Speaker 3: is going to be difficult to get around some of
20:02
Speaker 3: the I guess the first any positive too, well, there
20:05
Speaker 3: is a lot of positive positive, but a lot of positive.
20:07
Speaker 3: What I was gonna say was, if there's any saving grace,
20:09
Speaker 3: maybe it's one of my awards, say that A lot
20:11
Speaker 3: of people aren't working today because of Juneteenth or the
20:14
Speaker 3: West or West Virginia Day, because some places are observing
20:17
Speaker 3: West Virginia Day, which is tomorrow. They're observing this day
20:20
Speaker 3: today as a federal holiday with June teenth, so there's
20:24
Speaker 3: not as many bodies trying to get to work as
20:27
Speaker 3: what I'm trying to say is what they're normally.
20:28
Speaker 13: And they're taking advantage of this for the bike races today,
20:33
Speaker 13: but for this evening Moses Auto Group Live in the
20:36
Speaker 13: Levee is happening. It's going to be awesome with talib quality.
20:41
Speaker 13: He's taking the show him by the stage now. Just
20:43
Speaker 13: so you know, I was talking to Woody Woods about
20:47
Speaker 13: this and he said that he's part of Black Star,
20:50
Speaker 13: which is a duo with most Steff So and by
20:54
Speaker 13: the way, because I am a good guy, I said,
20:57
Speaker 13: how do you say his name?
21:01
Speaker 3: So there you go. There he gets straight.
21:03
Speaker 13: From what he was, Straight from what he was, I said,
21:05
Speaker 13: I said, I want to make sure I get this right,
21:07
Speaker 13: but let me tell you something.
21:08
Speaker 2: He is what he said.
21:09
Speaker 13: He said, it's going to be rocking down the stage tonight,
21:12
Speaker 13: so he's gonna be there with Jordan Dryer Trio, the
21:15
Speaker 13: Jordan Dryer Trio, which is going to be opening up
21:17
Speaker 13: the evening That music kicks off at six point thirty
21:20
Speaker 13: Head Whin I are taking the stage at eight pm.
21:21
Speaker 3: Now.
21:22
Speaker 13: Now, obviously Live in the Levee is going to be
21:24
Speaker 13: a little hampered on the food stuff, but yues because
21:27
Speaker 13: the food trucks can't be up with the boulevard grease
21:29
Speaker 13: all that can here. There are a number of things
21:31
Speaker 13: you have to think about, but we're not We're not
21:34
Speaker 13: worried about that because gas what there's rolls on the
21:36
Speaker 13: river and that's going to be happening down here.
21:39
Speaker 2: I don't even mention that, right, and that is from
21:42
Speaker 2: five to nine.
21:43
Speaker 13: So down here it's going to be between Court Street
21:46
Speaker 13: and Clinton and so in front c Energy you've got
21:51
Speaker 13: the law firm there as well as the County Court
21:53
Speaker 13: has all that. I mean, Pepperoni rolls like crazy. Now,
21:57
Speaker 13: are they going to be the Tony the Taylor version
22:00
Speaker 13: or are.
22:00
Speaker 3: They gonna be don't get Parentzino started about that, right
22:04
Speaker 3: because in the eyes of Tony, stickup pepperone stick of
22:08
Speaker 3: pepperoni with no cheese. Is that's the only kind of
22:11
Speaker 3: pepperoni roll that is legit. In the eyes of Tony
22:13
Speaker 3: but Derek.
22:14
Speaker 13: But so he is going to be offended in a
22:17
Speaker 13: number of instances. But people have their own variety of
22:20
Speaker 13: what's a pepperoni role?
22:21
Speaker 3: But as he says, don't call it pepperoni roll right,
22:23
Speaker 3: you call it a nice little strombolding. Yeah, that's what
22:26
Speaker 3: he says.
22:27
Speaker 2: But rolls in the river's going to be happening. That's
22:29
Speaker 2: from five to nine.
22:30
Speaker 13: So there's gonna be all kinds of you know, West
22:33
Speaker 13: Virginia centric food that's going to be happening.
22:35
Speaker 2: That's gonna be awesome.
22:36
Speaker 13: And the uhh, the fifty to fifty drawing is going
22:39
Speaker 13: to be happening as well, and it benefits the Cana
22:42
Speaker 13: Valley Collective. You have, the juneteens have obviously the USA
22:47
Speaker 13: pro cycling miles from mines. And then get ready for
22:50
Speaker 13: the rest of the weekend. Saturday's gonna be awesome. Sunday's
22:53
Speaker 13: gonna be really awesome. That road race on that day,
22:56
Speaker 13: what's up at Bridge Road Shops gonna be a fun,
22:58
Speaker 13: fun time.
22:59
Speaker 3: Now, I guess yesterday evening, depending on where you lived,
23:01
Speaker 3: there were some showers that popped up a little bit.
23:04
Speaker 3: I was not in downtown Charleston last night, but had
23:06
Speaker 3: so did was the raining down there?
23:08
Speaker 13: Yeah, week we had a few showers, but I mean
23:10
Speaker 13: it's it showered like twice, I would say. And I
23:14
Speaker 13: was at Maggie who was working the camera on there
23:17
Speaker 13: at Hell Street on the on the Flow Sports broadcast yesterday,
23:22
Speaker 13: and and she put the camera gear rain gear on it,
23:25
Speaker 13: and she was like, I almost didn't need it, but
23:29
Speaker 13: because that's the kind of shower it was. But we
23:31
Speaker 13: had a couple of those. It was a great time
23:33
Speaker 13: last night, great great time.
23:35
Speaker 3: I saw the pictures. I mean, I was an event.
23:37
Speaker 3: By the way. I wanna give a big shout off
23:38
Speaker 3: to the folks at Randolph Engineering in Putnam County. They
23:40
Speaker 3: had their fiftieth celebration last night fore year, fifty years
23:43
Speaker 3: in business. Last night, a little event there with the
23:45
Speaker 3: Putnam County Chamber of Commerce. Give a big shout out
23:47
Speaker 3: to Grace and the fine folks at Randolph Engineering. They
23:49
Speaker 3: are fine, fine people there.
23:51
Speaker 13: Well they're all all good folks by the way. But listen,
23:54
Speaker 13: it was a great time last night. Just had a
23:56
Speaker 13: couple of showers which really just kept the temperature in check.
23:59
Speaker 2: Really nice.
24:00
Speaker 13: I can't wait for Criteria next year again because it's
24:02
Speaker 13: gonna be awesome.
24:03
Speaker 2: But I you have ntrol fireworks coming up.
24:06
Speaker 3: Yeah, well, the next segment we'll talking about the about
24:08
Speaker 3: nitro fireworks.
24:09
Speaker 13: I want to make one note about that, yeah, and
24:11
Speaker 13: that is they have such good fireworks that the US
24:14
Speaker 13: Coast Guard thought that the fireworks I was blowing off
24:17
Speaker 13: of my boat on Christmas, they thought they were commercial fireworks.
24:21
Speaker 13: They were so good, and they yelled on the radio
24:24
Speaker 13: to cease and desist. This was not part of the permit.
24:26
Speaker 13: And I looked back and I went, boys, blow them
24:29
Speaker 13: all over right now, and we gave them a show.
24:32
Speaker 3: And that's how you got lead boys. Yeah, yeah, that
24:34
Speaker 3: was not how you.
24:34
Speaker 8: Got lead boys.
24:35
Speaker 2: But but that's how good.
24:37
Speaker 13: But what I'm saying is that's how good their fireworks are.
24:39
Speaker 13: That's a coast guard thought they were commercial grade fireworks.
24:43
Speaker 3: Good stuff there. And again I'll tell people if you
24:46
Speaker 3: are coming to Charleston today for any of these events,
24:48
Speaker 3: or if you're planning on coming to do shopping whatever,
24:51
Speaker 3: just be patient and patient but fun because there are
24:55
Speaker 3: a lot of closures and a lot of you know,
24:59
Speaker 3: back roads, take kings and stuff like that. So I
25:01
Speaker 3: just want to make sure people know that.
25:03
Speaker 13: I drove through alleys that I have never driven through
25:06
Speaker 13: today to get here.
25:07
Speaker 3: So have you been in Charleston for some time so
25:11
Speaker 3: you've learned fourteen.
25:12
Speaker 2: Years, I've listened.
25:13
Speaker 13: I've been been through a lot of alleys in Charleston,
25:16
Speaker 13: but I have not been to some of those alleys
25:18
Speaker 13: I just drove through today.
25:19
Speaker 3: All right, Brian Hughes live on the levee tonight. Now
25:22
Speaker 3: there's the beat going to be there tonight.
25:23
Speaker 2: It's going to be there, one of those seven three
25:24
Speaker 2: of the beats.
25:25
Speaker 3: All right, it's going to be there tonight.
25:27
Speaker 2: He pops and throwbacks.
25:29
Speaker 3: Yeah. And so I mean we're everywhere of the next
25:31
Speaker 3: couple of days, and it's come between all the stations.
25:33
Speaker 3: I mean we're I think we're places this morning. I
25:35
Speaker 3: think as a matter of fact.
25:36
Speaker 13: Actually that's where what he's out doing stuff right now. Yeah,
25:39
Speaker 13: that's why he couldn't be here to do this. So
25:42
Speaker 13: they sent one of the wider guys in to do this.
25:45
Speaker 13: And I said what I said, Yeah, I said, I
25:47
Speaker 13: got this. He goes, oh, buddy, you got it all right.
25:50
Speaker 13: I want to get your pitios up real quick before
25:52
Speaker 13: I let you go.
25:53
Speaker 3: You got those things to do I don't know whether
25:55
Speaker 3: you heard the Bloomberg money report leading into the show
25:58
Speaker 3: or not this morning. Apparently people are going on Etsy
26:02
Speaker 3: and they're purchasing these things like witches to keep their
26:06
Speaker 3: we to make sure their weathers are good for the
26:09
Speaker 3: weather's good for their wedding. I just caught it literally
26:13
Speaker 3: as I was setting up everything here, you know, for
26:15
Speaker 3: the show, and apparently that's the thing now people and
26:18
Speaker 3: I don't even know anything about Etsy, but people are
26:20
Speaker 3: going on and they're and they're purchasing basically, they're going
26:23
Speaker 3: through some kind of.
26:24
Speaker 2: Voodoo dolls, voodooz witch.
26:26
Speaker 3: Warlock kind of things in order to make sure that
26:29
Speaker 3: there that their weather is good. I mean, do you
26:32
Speaker 3: offer that service as a meteorologize?
26:34
Speaker 8: I do.
26:34
Speaker 2: I do a rain dance one month prior.
26:37
Speaker 13: But you know what, I was at a Georgia wedding
26:39
Speaker 13: and I'm you're part of Appalachia, and they said that
26:42
Speaker 13: there is an Appalachian ritual in which you bury a
26:46
Speaker 13: bottle of Scotch one month prior to your wedding at
26:50
Speaker 13: the site in which your wedding vows are going to
26:53
Speaker 13: be exchanged. It's difficult if you're going to do it
26:55
Speaker 13: in a church, which you should never do it in church.
26:57
Speaker 2: Go go do something outside.
26:59
Speaker 13: But if you do it there, and we buried it
27:01
Speaker 13: as they buried it one month to the day, right
27:05
Speaker 13: by the lake in Georgia. And I guess what beautiful
27:08
Speaker 13: loose guys, perfect wedding.
27:10
Speaker 3: There you go.
27:11
Speaker 2: I got pictures to prove it, all right, I look good.
27:13
Speaker 3: Of course you do all right. Mediaoligs Is Brian Hughes,
27:16
Speaker 3: appreciate you being here man. So you get live on
27:18

Speaker 14: in West Virginia history, All going down at the Charleston

29:20
Speaker 8: You Kind of Regatta.
29:22
Speaker 16: Five eight WCHS is a proud regard a sponsor.
29:30
Speaker 3: Check them out. They're all over the place this summer.
29:33
Speaker 3: It's Amos Steel Band, the official band of The Dave
29:35
Speaker 3: Allen Show, twenty three minutes away from ten. Senior producer
29:39
Speaker 3: Ryan Nicholson in charge of things This morning, The Dave
29:41
Speaker 3: Allen Show in five Dyline brought to you impired by
29:43
Speaker 3: the all new Generations Forward a Hurricane. This is Generations
29:46
Speaker 3: Forward dot Com. We're gonna check in with our good
29:48
Speaker 3: friend Taylor with the Clay Center coming up in just
29:50
Speaker 3: a bed. I told you earlier. I was going to
29:51
Speaker 3: sit down with the folks at Nitro Fireworks, thought it
29:53
Speaker 3: would be Conrad. Conrad has actually more shipments of stuff
29:57
Speaker 3: coming in this morning. So in his place from the
30:00
Speaker 3: WVRC Media Sales Weasel Department, Colonel Ron Hughes, how you
30:04
Speaker 3: doing man, good?
30:06
Speaker 17: Thank you Dave for having me on. I appreciate it.
30:08
Speaker 3: So Conrad must be over there working hard this morning.
30:11
Speaker 3: Well I had him scheduled to be on the show,
30:13
Speaker 3: and then you come in and this morning and you said, well,
30:16
Speaker 3: he's got stuff going on, and he got stuff coming in,
30:18
Speaker 3: so Conrad is not going to join his as well.
30:20
Speaker 17: You could understand this time of year, it's you know,
30:23
Speaker 17: when all of the shipments are coming in and probably
30:26
Speaker 17: things are going out of the store as fast as
30:28
Speaker 17: they're coming in. So he had a lot of a
30:30
Speaker 17: lot of shipments. A big deal for them. You know,
30:33
Speaker 17: they want to celebrate America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday,
30:36
Speaker 17: so in order to do that, they needed to have
30:38
Speaker 17: more fireworks on hand, and of course more staff. But
30:43
Speaker 17: in order to make this bigger, better and better, they
30:46
Speaker 17: had to put an addition on the building. So they've
30:49
Speaker 17: got about another two thousand square feet of fireworks, more stuff.
30:54
Speaker 17: Insta building for people that don't know, it's okay, it
30:57
Speaker 17: is a brick and mortar building, so you don't have
30:59
Speaker 17: to worry about being in a tent or something like that.
31:02
Speaker 17: You know, once you get out of your car, you
31:04
Speaker 17: go inside, you're in a building. So it's fairly exclusive
31:08
Speaker 17: for this market. It's in Nitro at seven twenty eight
31:11
Speaker 17: First Avenue South and Nitro. So if you are going
31:15
Speaker 17: to be getting off at the Institute exit of I
31:17
Speaker 17: sixty four, you would hang and go west towards Nitro
31:22
Speaker 17: and Saint Albans And before you get to the Nitro
31:24
Speaker 17: Saint Albans Bridge, they're on the left.
31:27
Speaker 3: Okay, all right? So and you happen to know other
31:30
Speaker 3: hours with their hours.
31:31
Speaker 17: They are open nine to nine this you know through
31:36
Speaker 17: the holiday.
31:37
Speaker 3: Period, okay, okay? Is that seven days a week or now?
31:40
Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure the information is available on their show.
31:42
Speaker 3: It is on the website.
31:43
Speaker 17: But yeah, they are open seven days a week and
31:44
Speaker 17: they will be open on the fourth of July itself.
31:47
Speaker 3: Okay.
31:47
Speaker 17: Just to get you taken care.
31:48
Speaker 3: Of, what did did this in your conversations with Ron
31:52
Speaker 3: or with Conrad, I should say, Rod, did he tell you, like,
31:55
Speaker 3: what is there's something that like that's really hot this year,
31:57
Speaker 3: something that's something new, something everybody's that's the that's the
32:00
Speaker 3: I gotta get kind of thing.
32:01
Speaker 17: Well, he was trying to. I think he's trying to
32:04
Speaker 17: be a little bit mysterious because there's so many good
32:06
Speaker 17: things he wants. You can go on the website and
32:08
Speaker 17: kind of look at what they got, but there's some
32:11
Speaker 17: great things in the store. And I went and took
32:13
Speaker 17: a look at the inventory. It's like it's like massive.
32:17
Speaker 17: Anything you could think of, they've got it there. Family packs,
32:21
Speaker 17: aerial fireworks fountains, even fireworks showkits which might have been
32:27
Speaker 17: what Brian my Cousin from Texas seventh Cousin four times removed. Okay,
32:33
Speaker 17: but they've got those fiberglass racks with tubes and spacers.
32:37
Speaker 17: Just about anything you could think of in the fireworks department,
32:40
Speaker 17: it's there. And you know they're a legitimate year round organization.
32:45
Speaker 17: You know if something goes wrong, they're there to back
32:46
Speaker 17: it up. It's people I trust, and I've grown to
32:50
Speaker 17: know them over the last four or five years. These
32:54
Speaker 17: are real local people who are part of the community.
32:58
Speaker 3: Yeah, we want to make sure people understand that this
33:00
Speaker 3: is not I mean, with all, I'm not throwing shade
33:02
Speaker 3: any bams. And this is not the people that just
33:03
Speaker 3: come in from god knows where and set up a
33:06
Speaker 3: tent and and you don't and you don't know what
33:08
Speaker 3: you're getting and whether it's even legal, you know, or whatever.
33:13
Speaker 3: And these are local people that have this the Conrad
33:17
Speaker 3: and these folks there, they're local people that have this
33:19
Speaker 3: particular business run.
33:21
Speaker 7: Yeah.
33:21
Speaker 17: They're open year round, uh and they're safety certified. If
33:25
Speaker 17: you go to in fact, I encourage you to go
33:27
Speaker 17: to their website at Nitro Fireworks WV dot com. You
33:33
Speaker 17: can look at an item you know on the tab
33:36
Speaker 17: about safety and see all of the safety techniques you
33:39
Speaker 17: should follow to have a good show where nobody gets hurt.
33:42
Speaker 3: And that's the important thing. That's the important thing. All right,
33:44
Speaker 3: Ron Hughes is here. I know that a lot of
33:47
Speaker 3: our stations are going to be out there broadcasting live.
33:50
Speaker 3: So do you know you have.
33:51
Speaker 17: Two today at noon there'll be uh the Beat and
33:55
Speaker 17: V one hundred at noon to two, and then at
33:57
Speaker 17: five to seven will be The Mountain and KWS Superstar
34:02
Speaker 17: Country Shockley is going to be handling that. I think
34:04
Speaker 17: Shockley will be there, and I'm assuming.
34:07
Speaker 3: Rob for KWS as far as I know, it's Rob
34:10
Speaker 3: for KWS, Logan for V one hundred, Woody Woods for
34:13
Speaker 3: the Beat.
34:14
Speaker 17: So we've got all the superstars.
34:16
Speaker 3: Oh but I'm here. We have all the superstars. That's
34:20
Speaker 3: exactly what I thought you were.
34:21
Speaker 17: Let's say all the legitimate talent will be there, all.
34:24
Speaker 3: Right, Ron, Thanks, thanks man, my pleasure. That's Colonel Ron Hughes.
34:27
Speaker 3: And again you can go and check out to find
34:28
Speaker 3: folks at Nitro Fireworks and again get you stuff, do
34:32
Speaker 3: it safely, though it safe.
34:33
Speaker 17: Do you know why they call me the colonel because
34:35
Speaker 17: you think you're Elvis?
34:36
Speaker 3: And yeah, that's exactly right.
34:37
Speaker 17: And I pandered your talents to anybody that's willing to
34:40
Speaker 17: fork out seven fifty or fifteen dollars.
34:43
Speaker 3: And also you're not allowed to leave the country. So
34:45
Speaker 3: there's that. There's that. It's like, Colonel Ron, all right,
34:48
Speaker 3: nine forty three. I appreciate you being here, mister Hughes,
34:50

38:32
Speaker 3: when they come to town. And if you need a
38:34
Speaker 3: band for something, just look them up on Facebook. They're
38:37
Speaker 3: not hard to find. Amos Steel Band. And if you
38:39
Speaker 3: like that good I call it. It's a kind of
38:42
Speaker 3: Southern rock. One of the guys called it. Molly Hatchett
38:45
Speaker 3: meets Black Sabbath. I think what a combination that is.
38:49
Speaker 3: But if you need a band for an event, call
38:52
Speaker 3: those guys Amus Steel Band. They are fantastic. Thirteen minutes
38:55

38:58
Speaker 3: tecks and we'll talk to Taylor from the play Center.
39:00
Speaker 3: Text says today the reflecting Pool is really reflecting the
39:03
Speaker 3: incompetence of the Trump administration. Every decision, every brag, every
39:07
Speaker 3: assertion on the pool has completely flubbed. There's been a
39:11
Speaker 3: lot of metaphors for this administrations and competence, but this
39:13
Speaker 3: one's probably the most on the nose. Sends a text
39:17
Speaker 3: Texas Dave. Everyone talks about the animal shelter needing donations,
39:20
Speaker 3: but don't forget about the Fix some clinic. They help
39:22
Speaker 3: out in taking on the non emergency cases. The shelter
39:25
Speaker 3: is unable to do right now due to the overflow,
39:28
Speaker 3: but they are in desperate need of things like cleaning products, towels, wash,
39:32
Speaker 3: cost food and litter. Also, please remember these great neighbors. Indeed,
39:36
Speaker 3: Fix some clinic do appreciate the text. Le's bring in
39:38
Speaker 3: Taylor Good from the Clay Center. Good morning, Happy Friday,
39:40
Speaker 3: Welcome to the show.
39:42
Speaker 9: Thanks for having me.
39:43
Speaker 3: What do you have going on? This has been a
39:45
Speaker 3: bulletin board today on the show of all the activities
39:49
Speaker 3: going on, you know from I mean everything from not
39:52
Speaker 3: only in Charleston, but the surrounding area. So we'll throw
39:55
Speaker 3: you in a mix. What's a Clay Center guy going on?
39:58
Speaker 9: Well, we are rearing up to celebrate celebrate our state's
40:01
Speaker 9: wonderful birthday tomorrow. We've got events going on all day
40:07
Speaker 9: as well as in the evening for our families.
40:10
Speaker 5: We have our fairy.
40:11
Speaker 9: Tales and Fables event tomorrow from eleven am to four pm.
40:16
Speaker 9: We will have Putnam Princess Parties. That's bringing a bunch
40:18
Speaker 9: of their princesses in to do meet and greets. And
40:21
Speaker 9: we're gonna have some princess frozen trees, lots of We're
40:26
Speaker 9: gonna be doing archery, lots of cool things. And I
40:29
Speaker 9: can't say specifically which characters are going to be here
40:35
Speaker 9: for our fable side, but I can say if you
40:37
Speaker 9: are in touch with the force and like Lightsabers, you
40:42
Speaker 9: may want to swing on by as well to meet
40:45
Speaker 9: some of your favorite characters.
40:46
Speaker 3: And it's of course tomorrow is West Virginia's birthday, and
40:48
Speaker 3: that's what what you guys are celebrating there right?
40:51
Speaker 5: Oh, yep, yep.
40:52
Speaker 9: We're trying to do something for everyone, which is why
40:54
Speaker 9: we're ending the day with classic classic band Chicago. Uh
40:59
Speaker 9: there be doing a wonderful show. It's a nearly sold
41:03
Speaker 9: out show. There are a few tickets left. So if
41:05
Speaker 9: you know someone's looking to do something to celebrate, one
41:08
Speaker 9: of a kind way to kick off or end our
41:12
Speaker 9: wonderful birthday, I would say Chicago is going to be
41:15
Speaker 9: a no brainer.
41:15
Speaker 3: I mean, and you talk about iconic bands, I mean,
41:18
Speaker 3: Chicago has been around, you know, forever, and I think
41:20
Speaker 3: I told you the story when you were first on
41:22
Speaker 3: the show. They were originally called the Chicago Transit Authority,
41:25
Speaker 3: but then they got sued by the actual Chicago Transit
41:28
Speaker 3: Authority and had to change their name to abbreviate it.
41:31
Speaker 3: And Chicago is one of those groups, Taylor that's had
41:34
Speaker 3: so many different sounds. I mean, everybody knows the big
41:37
Speaker 3: Horn sounds, but then in the eighties they kind of
41:39
Speaker 3: they kind of got into a little bit more of
41:41
Speaker 3: a mellow sound with Peter Setera's their lead singer, and
41:44
Speaker 3: songs like hard to Say, I'm Sorry and You're the inspiration,
41:47
Speaker 3: but they never got away from that big horn sound.
41:50
Speaker 3: And the great thing is is when you come out
41:52
Speaker 3: and see Chicago in concert tomorrow and night at the
41:54
Speaker 3: Clay Center, and as you said, there are still some
41:56
Speaker 3: seats left. They are going to do all those songs
41:58
Speaker 3: and they have got They're one of those groups that
42:00
Speaker 3: can't possibly do all their hits because they got too.
42:02
Speaker 9: Many, exactly. And I mean you can ask anybody who
42:06
Speaker 9: has ever seen them perform before that they knock it
42:10
Speaker 9: out of the park every single time.
42:11
Speaker 5: They are one of.
42:12
Speaker 9: Those They're one of those groups and those musicians who
42:14
Speaker 9: just nail it every time.
42:16
Speaker 3: Agreed. Do you know we're talking with Taylor agu from
42:18
Speaker 3: the Clay Center and there again, you know, just so
42:20
Speaker 3: many things going on. I mean this weekend and when
42:24
Speaker 3: we talked about it, from the from the bike event
42:26
Speaker 3: and today being Juneteenth, there's a parade through downtown Charleston
42:29
Speaker 3: and all those things going on at Slack Plaza, uh
42:32
Speaker 3: in relation to that. But we want to make sure
42:35
Speaker 3: that people don't forget West Virginia's birthday and all that
42:38
Speaker 3: as well. And that's that's why we had you on
42:40
Speaker 3: today to talk about events at the Clay Center. But
42:42
Speaker 3: I mean, you guys always got stuff, exciting stuff going on.
42:44
Speaker 9: To Clay Center, oh always. And you know we're in
42:47
Speaker 9: our summer months, so we're ramping up for NonStop activities.
42:52
Speaker 9: We haven't technically announced it yet, so I guess I'm
42:54
Speaker 9: telling you first.
42:55
Speaker 3: But Roan doing this, go ahead, go ahead.
42:59
Speaker 5: I'm sorry.
43:00
Speaker 9: We have an event coming up here in July. It's
43:04
Speaker 9: going to be called Paper Pilots, and essentially we are
43:08
Speaker 9: having this massive, large scale paper airplane day where we're
43:13
Speaker 9: looking at aerodynamics. We're going to be launching like five
43:18
Speaker 9: foot made paper airplanes by our education team across our
43:22
Speaker 9: performance hall lobby. We're gonna have all these really cool
43:25
Speaker 9: activities and things with it, lots of cool aerodynamics along
43:30
Speaker 9: with having the Bluey Show that's in the end of July.
43:33
Speaker 9: Billy Bob Thornton, Vin Skill, I mean, it's just never.
43:37
Speaker 3: Ending, it is. We had a text here somebody wanted
43:40
Speaker 3: to know about the show to one at Chicago because
43:42
Speaker 3: you know, one of their founding members actually passed away
43:44
Speaker 3: earlier this week and he was co founder of the group.
43:48
Speaker 3: Longtime Saxophone as a woodwind player passed away two days ago.
43:51
Speaker 3: The show is still going on though, right.
43:54
Speaker 9: Yes, the show is still on. All right.
43:56
Speaker 3: We want to make sure that I'm sure they'll do
43:58
Speaker 3: something special for him during the consort tomorrow night as
44:01
Speaker 3: well that paper airplane event, Taylor. I mean, if any
44:05
Speaker 3: one event says Steve Animal in ninety eight to seven
44:08
Speaker 3: the month and Wild Wonderful Classic Rock our one of
44:11
Speaker 3: our sister stations. We got to make arrangements to get
44:14
Speaker 3: Animal there for that because he is he's the guy
44:16
Speaker 3: that with the Bridge Valley, you know, does the thing
44:19
Speaker 3: the pumpkin drop every fall. We got to get the
44:21
Speaker 3: world's oldest kid, Steve Animal out there. Do you think
44:24
Speaker 3: you can work with the with our sales team and
44:26
Speaker 3: get Animal out there for that? Because man, that's that's
44:28
Speaker 3: that's something that's got Steve Animal written all over it.
44:31
Speaker 9: Oh, we could definitely make something happen.
44:33
Speaker 3: All right, And what's the best place for people to
44:35
Speaker 3: learn about all the events at the Clay Center.
44:37
Speaker 9: You can always follow our social media channels or you
44:40
Speaker 9: can go to our website at the Claycenter dot org.
44:43
Speaker 3: All right, and again, just quickly in case people tune in,
44:46
Speaker 3: like run down the schedule of events.
44:47
Speaker 9: Tomorrow tomorrow if you've got young ones or you're young
44:51
Speaker 9: at heart, We've got our fairy tales and bables. We
44:53
Speaker 9: will have some of our favorite princesses as well as
44:57
Speaker 9: characters who are in touch with the forest, love lightsabers,
45:01
Speaker 9: maybe like some talking robots. They'll be there from eleven
45:07
Speaker 9: am to four pm. And then if you're looking for
45:09
Speaker 9: something more specific for maybe in an adult evening night out,
45:14
Speaker 9: we've got the bands Chicago. We'll be performing at seven thirty.
45:17
Speaker 9: A few tickets left for that, So if you are
45:19
Speaker 9: looking for something fun to do, you can go to
45:21
Speaker 9: our website and get ticket.
45:22
Speaker 3: But if you want those tickets for that, I think
45:24
Speaker 3: you probably need to do that over the next couple
45:26
Speaker 3: of hours, because I can't imagine that there's the only
45:29
Speaker 3: reason there are still seats left is because there's so
45:31
Speaker 3: many things going on, but they're going to be gone
45:34
Speaker 3: by the end of the day tailor. So people need
45:36
Speaker 3: to go to your website definitely and get those Chicago
45:38
Speaker 3: tickets and do it in the next little bit. Yeah.
45:40
Speaker 9: Absolutely. I mean, some of the tickets we have right
45:42
Speaker 9: now are box seats, and the only reason we have
45:44
Speaker 9: those is they we just the show actually just allowed
45:47
Speaker 9: us to open those seats up. So there are some
45:50
Speaker 9: primetime seats that weren't available a couple months ago. So
45:53
Speaker 9: if you were wanting a front row seat, they were
45:55
Speaker 9: gone originally, and so you were putting on the back burner.
45:57
Speaker 9: You can have even better seats in our box seats.
46:00
Speaker 3: And I have set in those box seats, you know,
46:03
Speaker 3: for the symphony and different things. It's a total different
46:06
Speaker 3: experience when you set in those box seats. I mean,
46:08
Speaker 3: I mean, Clay Center's always great. I've just gone to
46:10
Speaker 3: several concerts there, but when you set in those box seats,
46:12
Speaker 3: it's a totally different experience. So listen, you know, folks,
46:16
Speaker 3: if you we're hedging on whether it go to the
46:18
Speaker 3: show or not, there are box seats available. And again
46:21
Speaker 3: it's noting that they weren't sold before. It's just that
46:23
Speaker 3: the promoters just release.
46:25
Speaker 9: Those, yes, exactly, And a lot of the shows will
46:28
Speaker 9: hold a few just in case they have family or
46:30
Speaker 9: friends coming out, So we get those last minute. Anytime
46:33
Speaker 9: we can release those and get you know, some of
46:35
Speaker 9: our community in there, we take them every chance we
46:37
Speaker 9: can get.
46:38
Speaker 3: All right, Taylor, we'll talk again soon. I keep doing
46:40
Speaker 3: great things at Clay Center. Appreciate it.
46:42
Speaker 9: Thanks a lot, absolutely, thanks for having me.
46:44
Speaker 3: So again, if you want to go see Chicago tomorrow night,
46:48
Speaker 3: box seats just became available and you're probably thinking, well,
46:50
Speaker 3: how do, like Taylor said, how do they just become available? Well,
46:53
Speaker 3: what happens is with a lot of the promoters and
46:56
Speaker 3: the companies is they will, as she said, they will
46:58
Speaker 3: reserve in venues like the Clay Center that have select city,
47:01
Speaker 3: they will reserve them just in case family members want
47:06
Speaker 3: to come through, friends of the band or whatever. And
47:08
Speaker 3: then generally speaking, that's what happens. About forty eight hours
47:11
Speaker 3: or twenty four hours somewhere in that neighborhood before the concert,
47:13
Speaker 3: they'll contact the venue and say, hey, we've got these
47:16
Speaker 3: seats available, release them. So if you want to go
47:19
Speaker 3: see Chicago, maybe you're a person that doesn't like to
47:22
Speaker 3: be all, you know, part of a big crowd, you know,
47:25
Speaker 3: down on the floor or whatever. Box seats for Chicago
47:29
Speaker 3: are available at the Clay Center. Just go to their
47:31
Speaker 3: website and check it out. But Dave Island showing five
47:34
Speaker 3: eighty Live is brunch you and parted by Pinnacle Consultants

47:47
Speaker 3: helping you understand your environment because what you don't know
47:50
Speaker 3: can hurt you. Tex says is there going to be
47:54
Speaker 3: a birthday cake the capital tomorrow? Also? Are all of
47:58
Speaker 3: these events for West Virginiaday going on across the region
48:01
Speaker 3: tomorrow free? Well, some are and some aren't. I mean,
48:04
Speaker 3: I don't have the entire list front as far as
48:06
Speaker 3: a cake at the Capitol, I mean I have, I
48:09
Speaker 3: don't know that for a fact. But if somebody from
48:11
Speaker 3: the Governor's office or somebody from our newsroom is listening
48:13
Speaker 3: right now and wants to let me know, I'm sure
48:15
Speaker 3: there will be a cake somewhere around maybe today, because
48:20
Speaker 3: you know, with it being Saturday, West Virginia Day is
48:23
Speaker 3: in some circles being observed today. So I don't know,
48:27
Speaker 3: but you can. I mean, I mean, I know if
48:29
Speaker 3: there's left over West Virginia cake, Ryan and I are
48:30
Speaker 3: here for it. I mean we're absolutely here for Texas.
48:33
Speaker 3: For anyone that's never seen Chicago and concert, They're unbelievable.
48:36
Speaker 3: They're the only band that's toured every single year since
48:39
Speaker 3: they're founding. That is an amazing feat.
48:42
Speaker 1: Indeed it is.
48:43

48:45

Speaker 3: and a half talking about news. But what he's here
