- 0:01Speaker 1: Thanks Mike Lane. Coming off of a six to one
- 0:03Speaker 1: loss to the Santals Sharks two nights ago. In games
- 0:07Speaker 1: like that, do you chalk it up to those type
- 0:09Speaker 1: of things happened throughout the course of the season, We're
- 0:11Speaker 1: gonna flush it or what's that mindset about rebounding and
- 0:15Speaker 1: coming back in for this one here tonight.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Well, there's two parts to that. You said them both.
- 0:23Speaker 2: You know, normally, you you are going to have some games.
- 0:28Speaker 2: You could probably count four or five games a year
- 0:32Speaker 2: where just for whatever reason, it's just not going well,
- 0:35Speaker 2: you know, and whether that be give up a goal
- 0:39Speaker 2: in the first shift, give up a goal in the
- 0:41Speaker 2: last minute of the first period, give up a goal
- 0:43Speaker 2: in the first minute of third period, those are just
- 0:45Speaker 2: Cardinals scenes that happened to us. And you know, if
- 0:50Speaker 2: you if you do those kinds of things, chances are
- 0:54Speaker 2: pretty good that you're not gonna win. And some nights
- 0:59Speaker 2: that's just gonna happen. So, you know, when you're really bad,
- 1:03Speaker 2: I guess you could maybe potentially flush it and chock
- 1:06Speaker 2: it up to you know, just one of those nights,
- 1:11Speaker 2: But not now, not with this team, not this early
- 1:15Speaker 2: in the season. You know, why did it happen, what
- 1:19Speaker 2: can we learn from it? How can we be better?
- 1:22Speaker 2: These are all things that we've talked about over the
- 1:24Speaker 2: last three days. It's been a long three days, trust me.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Earlier this morning in new Mediaville, you said the Kraken
- 1:29Speaker 1: weren't generating enough offensive chances for your liking. You switch
- 1:33Speaker 1: up the lines a bit, you put Matty Veneers back
- 1:35Speaker 1: with Schwartz and Coppolcaco. What are you hoping to a
- 1:38Speaker 1: achieve with that line? And then also, how do you
- 1:41Speaker 1: feel this team can go about generating more opportunities this weekend?
- 1:45Speaker 2: Well, there's a formula for success. We know what the
- 1:48Speaker 2: formula is. We have to execute and for me, it's
- 1:55Speaker 2: not necessarily rocket science, but there's an execution factor. And
- 2:02Speaker 2: you know, we've done a pretty good job over the
- 2:04Speaker 2: course of the season of having net presence. You know,
- 2:08Speaker 2: there's there's times the other night when we took shots
- 2:11Speaker 2: and their goaltender there was nobody around them at all.
- 2:14Speaker 2: And that's just not it's not a winning formula, you know.
- 2:20Speaker 2: So we've got to be better in that area, just
- 2:24Speaker 2: got to get harder. It's going to be a hard
- 2:26Speaker 2: game tonight. They're a hard team. They're a hard team
- 2:28Speaker 2: at home, and you know, we're going to have to
- 2:32Speaker 2: own the paint at both ends and that is going
- 2:34Speaker 2: to require us to battle.
- 2:37Speaker 1: And so.
- 2:40Speaker 2: You know, you cannot let your foot off the gas
- 2:42Speaker 2: for one second against this team. So we'll look to
- 2:46Speaker 2: get to the net tonight and you know, just switching
- 2:49Speaker 2: things up a little bit, just see if that gives us.
- 2:50Speaker 1: A bit of a spark. Joey de Cordon not making
- 2:53Speaker 1: the trip for Seattle two parter number one, can you
- 2:56Speaker 1: share an update on his status? And number two? What
- 3:00Speaker 1: type of added pressure do you feel this may add
- 3:02Speaker 1: to the defensive side of the game here today, playing
- 3:05Speaker 1: in front of two goalies who, while experienced, haven't had
- 3:08Speaker 1: a whole lot of ice time this season.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Well, you know, obviously Joey not being here, he's not
- 3:16Speaker 2: here this weekend, he's day to day. We'll see what
- 3:18Speaker 2: happens after that. We'll know more on Monday. But you know,
- 3:23Speaker 2: Joey's a big part of our our breaking pucks out
- 3:26Speaker 2: the way he plays the puck, and so it starts
- 3:30Speaker 2: there with us. You know, we're gonna have to be
- 3:33Speaker 2: good getting back for pucks with our defense. We're gonna
- 3:37Speaker 2: have to communicate and be solid on goalie exchanges and
- 3:40Speaker 2: things like that. Joey oftentimes just passes it up himself.
- 3:43Speaker 2: And you know, it's a very very advantageous thing to have,
- 3:49Speaker 2: you know, our guys Grooby and Murk and play the puck,
- 3:53Speaker 2: but you know, not to the not to the adeptness
- 3:57Speaker 2: that Joey can play it. And saying that those guys
- 4:01Speaker 2: have been working hard, you know, and I think they've
- 4:04Speaker 2: both handled the three goalie rotation with tremendous professionalism and
- 4:11Speaker 2: they've worked. Uh, you know, we're asking them to step
- 4:15Speaker 2: in and be good right away. We don't have time
- 4:17Speaker 2: to you know, get the rest off in saying that.
- 4:21Speaker 2: You know, they have played games for probably three weeks,
- 4:23Speaker 2: so not an easy situation for them to be coming into.
- 4:28Speaker 2: But you know, we have to we have to pretend
- 4:30Speaker 2: them as well. We have to play solid in front
- 4:32Speaker 2: of them,
