- 0:04Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five whist Stocky Sports.
- 0:08Speaker 2: And they go a whist So, yeah, it's too bad,
- 0:11Speaker 2: But what did you expect.
- 0:13Speaker 1: It's a podcast called twenty five Whistles.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Twenty wine, Everybody walk Home, bow the Whistle. So I
- 0:21Speaker 2: was watching the NBA Draft. I have thoughts. You watch
- 0:24Speaker 2: drafted all Yeah.
- 0:25Speaker 1: First time I've ever watched it ever ever.
- 0:28Speaker 2: I liked it. It moves fast. Same. I like that too.
- 0:31Speaker 2: It's two minutes and more on. Yeah. I like that.
- 0:33Speaker 1: They don't have a whole walk hallway to walk through.
- 0:36Speaker 1: They just they're right there.
- 0:37Speaker 2: M m. Yeah, you know football.
- 0:39Speaker 1: It's like they go through like all these tunnels and
- 0:41Speaker 1: take a picture.
- 0:42Speaker 2: And I feel bad for Acup who played at Arkansas
- 0:45Speaker 2: because he has to go play in Sacramento. It's all that.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Not that I don't like Sacramento, but if they's a
- 0:50Speaker 2: team I don't want to play for, it's the Kings.
- 0:52Speaker 3: They got to be number one on the list, right,
- 0:54Speaker 3: so I do have a list.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Nice, So I thought about all of that. That's the
- 0:58Speaker 2: worst team to go to. It's going to Memphis to play.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I was gonna say in Memphis because like they drafted
- 1:03Speaker 1: like this little white guy.
- 1:05Speaker 2: He's going to Memphis. Oh, you're talking about the city.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I'm just talking about the organization.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Like I just saw him get drafted and I was like, man,
- 1:14Speaker 1: this guy's thinking, like, dang.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I don't move to Memphis, Like where do I even?
- 1:16Speaker 2: Where do I live?
- 1:17Speaker 3: At least there's no state tax, and Sacramento there's a
- 1:20Speaker 3: lot of state tax.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, So the ten cities that I'd like to
- 1:25Speaker 2: play in first, And this isn't just the city, and
- 1:29Speaker 2: it's not just the organization. It's a mixture of two. Okay.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Number one.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Miami, like number one. This is in an order, right,
- 1:42Speaker 3: not just top ten things to top ten cities.
- 1:45Speaker 2: This is number one in order. Okay, Number one Miami,
- 1:48Speaker 2: no state income tax. I'm not a big beach guy,
- 1:51Speaker 2: but I just feel like it's warm all the time.
- 1:54Speaker 2: I'm an athlete, like I'm playing golf all the time. Yeah,
- 1:56Speaker 2: you're young too, Yeah, so no state tax. I'm young
- 2:01Speaker 2: and I play golf all the time.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:03Speaker 1: And those nightclubs, man, like it would just be awesome.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Number two Los Angeles Lakers or Clippers. The tax part sucks,
- 2:11Speaker 2: but the weather's awesome. The endorsements and you're there where
- 2:15Speaker 2: all of the business is happening. It's a year round lifestyle,
- 2:20Speaker 2: much like Miami. That's why it's historically the number one
- 2:24Speaker 2: free agent destination. Now, I don't love Los Angeles, but
- 2:27Speaker 2: it's because of what I've had to do. When I go,
- 2:29Speaker 2: I have to go sit in ubers and go job
- 2:32Speaker 2: to job talking to produce. If I'm playing in the NBA,
- 2:34Speaker 2: I'm getting a house somewhere nice.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Yeah, up in the hills.
- 2:38Speaker 1: You're an You're so rich instantly and you're a superstar
- 2:41Speaker 1: as soon as you get there.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Next it's cold, And this really is difficult for me
- 2:51Speaker 2: to say because of the cold. But I still if
- 2:54Speaker 2: I'm going, I'm going Chicago.
- 2:56Speaker 3: Oh A, you're gonna say Boston.
- 2:58Speaker 2: It's a massive mark get. I love Chicago. It just
- 3:02Speaker 2: gets really cold. The good thing about basketball it's not outside.
- 3:07Speaker 2: Like I don't want to play for the Bears because
- 3:08Speaker 2: it's too cold. They may build a dome though, in
- 3:11Speaker 2: an indoor stadium, the one that their next one. Yeah,
- 3:14Speaker 2: but I'm going Chicago at three?
- 3:17Speaker 1: What about their their organization? The Bulls kind of suck,
- 3:23Speaker 1: Like I forget about the Bulls sometimes.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I know, which is crazy. I know next, I'm going Dallas. Wow,
- 3:31Speaker 2: two things, no state tax I like living in Texas.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Dallas has got everything outside NightLive, warm, yeah, yeah, great facilities.
- 3:43Speaker 2: So I'm going Dallas. I'm going New York. It's cold,
- 3:47Speaker 2: but it's freaking New York for sure. It's the biggest
- 3:49Speaker 2: media market in America. Now, are you going Knicks or Brooklyn?
- 3:54Speaker 2: It's probably it's easy to say the Knicks now because
- 3:59Speaker 2: they want but they've been so terrible, Like Brooklyn's been
- 4:02Speaker 2: a better team over the past twenty years. But now
- 4:07Speaker 2: probably the Knicks because they are the New York team.
- 4:10Speaker 1: And your home is Madison Square Garden. I guess so
- 4:13Speaker 1: is Brooklyn's right?
- 4:14Speaker 2: They play there? They play yeah, yeah, yeah. So the
- 4:18Speaker 2: thing that sucks about New York though, is the taxes.
- 4:21Speaker 2: But New York is like where everything is too that
- 4:23Speaker 2: we're Los Angeles. Everything's there. San Francisco, I love San Francisco.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Bay area is cool your city, dude. I love the
- 4:33Speaker 2: Warriors have won the players. I was looking at one
- 4:37Speaker 2: of those polls where they ask everybody where they like
- 4:39Speaker 2: to go, and San Francisco was one of the number
- 4:42Speaker 2: one away destinations. They like to play there for the
- 4:47Speaker 2: amenities to visit. How they're taught. Well, it's like ball playing.
- 4:50Speaker 1: It's not just the city, the scooters, the waymos I
- 4:57Speaker 1: take Atlanta, Wow, huh warm, a lot of entertainment. I
- 5:03Speaker 1: can drive up to see Eddie and Nashville. Yeah, I'm
- 5:05Speaker 1: right there, right down the road, right there. This is
- 5:08Speaker 1: when you get drafted outcast. Yeah, sure, Tyler Perry, Zach
- 5:14Speaker 1: Brown band.
- 5:17Speaker 2: And then I have two other Texas cities, Houston and
- 5:19Speaker 2: San Antonio.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I don't know about Houston, dude, I like Houston.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I like Houston, But La traffics as battle worse than Houston.
- 5:25Speaker 2: That's true. That's true. So all of those are factoring
- 5:28Speaker 2: in cities and organizations.
- 5:30Speaker 3: How how are the Celtics not on here?
- 5:33Speaker 2: I don't want to live in Boston. It's too cold,
- 5:35Speaker 2: just the organization alone, though, it's just too cold. Though
- 5:39Speaker 2: it's way too cold. You picked they'd be top fifteen.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I don't like Green either. Hey, there's those factored in.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I don't think I ever knew, though I wear a
- 5:49Speaker 2: lot of green. Yeah, I don't like you. So bottom
- 5:53Speaker 2: ten cities to play in? There we go, now we're there.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I don't want to go to sacrament No, it's better
- 6:01Speaker 2: now and about like the city. I've been up tour
- 6:03Speaker 2: in the city. The city is actually pretty great. We've
- 6:05Speaker 2: had fun there, but it's like that organization has never won.
- 6:09Speaker 2: The only time I've ever remembered them winning is when
- 6:11Speaker 2: Bloody Devauk and Chris Webber played and they got cheated
- 6:13Speaker 2: against the Lakers. M h like baby, yeah, baby. I
- 6:16Speaker 2: love Portland. I don't want to go play in Portland
- 6:18Speaker 2: because it's so far away from everything is like that
- 6:21Speaker 2: is just me going. I don't want to be trapped
- 6:25Speaker 2: on the far left side of the country and everywhere
- 6:28Speaker 2: is a trip. I love Portland. I wouldn't mind living
- 6:31Speaker 2: in Portland even now, I guess. But if I'm a ballplayer,
- 6:34Speaker 2: I got travel all the time. I don't want to
- 6:35Speaker 2: let this. Portland's not for me. Yeah, I don't want
- 6:39Speaker 2: to be in Milwaukee, and that's a really underrated city.
- 6:41Speaker 2: I hate Green. Oh, just the color well. I don't
- 6:44Speaker 2: like Green. It's one of the least favorite road cities.
- 6:49Speaker 2: When I was reading the articles about where players don't
- 6:50Speaker 2: like to go, I liked We shot American Idol in Milwaukee.
- 6:54Speaker 2: I found it to be quite nice. It's cold, it's Green.
- 6:57Speaker 2: They did win a championship, but they had a once
- 6:59Speaker 2: in a lifetime type player. Yeah, but they traditionally aren't
- 7:03Speaker 2: that good. But I don't want to go to Milwaukee.
- 7:05Speaker 2: I don't want to go to Detroit. I don't want
- 7:07Speaker 2: to go to Minneapolis cold cold, Yeah. I don't want
- 7:11Speaker 2: to go to Cleveland cold. I like Indianapolis for me.
- 7:18Speaker 2: I think if I'm an NBA player, I don't want
- 7:20Speaker 2: to go live Indianapolis. It feels like it's in the
- 7:23Speaker 2: middle of nowhere. Yep. And I don't want to go
- 7:26Speaker 2: live in Oklahoma City. And I like Oklahoma City, dang,
- 7:28Speaker 2: but there's nothing to do there. If you're an NBA
- 7:30Speaker 2: player who's a multi multi millionaire and you're twenty five
- 7:33Speaker 2: years old and you I don't want to live in
- 7:35Speaker 2: Oklahoma City.
- 7:36Speaker 3: Do they have like I guess you wouldn't do this,
- 7:38Speaker 3: but like lakes out there that you could know.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah, they have all of that, all that, it's fantastic.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I like Oklahoma City as a police I'm just.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Saying like, for me, if I was a millionaire and
- 7:45Speaker 3: I could afford a lake house at a city like that,
- 7:47Speaker 3: I would like what they do.
- 7:49Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, but if I'm twenty three, twenty four from
- 7:53Speaker 2: one to see the world for the first time. I'm
- 7:55Speaker 2: not trying to live right in the middle of America period. Yeah,
- 7:57Speaker 2: and Chicago's big enough where it's fine and cool, but
- 8:00Speaker 2: I don't want to have to live somewhere where they're
- 8:01Speaker 2: connecting flights. Just generally speaking, in Oklahoma City, I mean,
- 8:06Speaker 2: Salt Lake City would be tough for me to live in,
- 8:08Speaker 2: especially if I weren't white and Mormon.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Well, you don't drink, so they have that going for Yeah,
- 8:13Speaker 3: that's true.
- 8:14Speaker 2: So those would be the cities I wouldn't want to
- 8:16Speaker 2: live in. Wow, no, San Antonio, those are my top
- 8:18Speaker 2: ten to live in. I don't know, you.
- 8:20Speaker 3: Said both Texas, Houston, and Sanatin.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Oh I didn't hear.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I saw I hear Houston, and then Dallas and Okay, okay, yeah,
- 8:26Speaker 1: because San Antonia is weird because it's a great city,
- 8:30Speaker 1: but if you were young, I feel like you wouldn't
- 8:32Speaker 1: have fun there.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Like I don't know to Ripley, believe it or not.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Museum by the Alemo right across the street.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yes, I've been there, but it's crazy because like
- 8:42Speaker 1: all of these old like David Robinson, h Duncan.
- 8:46Speaker 2: All of them still live there. They never left. They
- 8:48Speaker 2: wanted to stay there.
- 8:49Speaker 3: Interesting there.
- 8:50Speaker 2: It's the organization and the warmth that really made it
- 8:53Speaker 2: for me. Yeah, because if you missed two of the
- 8:56Speaker 2: three weather organization, city just city in general. If it
- 9:00Speaker 2: missed two, it three. I couldn't pick you. You've been
- 9:02Speaker 2: a San Antonio Kevin, No, you'd like it.
- 9:04Speaker 3: I've only been in Dallas and Austin.
- 9:06Speaker 2: I love Salt Lake City as a city. I've been
- 9:09Speaker 2: a bunch of times because DJ lived there when he
- 9:11Speaker 2: was coaching at Utah. We went eight times. Fantastic city,
- 9:15Speaker 2: Too cold and way too white. If I were and
- 9:20Speaker 2: I guess in my fantasy I'm a black player, I guess,
- 9:22Speaker 2: yeah you are.
- 9:24Speaker 3: We're making the NBA.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't want to. That's not where I want
- 9:29Speaker 2: to live. And the Jazz don't win. They haven't won
- 9:31Speaker 2: really since Carmelon and John Stockton for the consistently.
- 9:35Speaker 3: No, they had that short run with them.
- 9:37Speaker 2: I think they're gonna be good now. Yeah, because they
- 9:39Speaker 2: got Danny As over there running that right.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, what do you think about Orlando's Florida?
- 9:45Speaker 2: I'm okay with the organization. Middle Disney. Yeah, you got Disney.
- 9:52Speaker 2: It's close enough to everything else. I get to play golf.
- 9:56Speaker 2: The weather was a big part of it. Yeah, anyway,
- 9:58Speaker 2: that's it. I don't want to play for scacer Man
- 9:59Speaker 2: now sucked up saw Darius A cuff and so I thought,
- 10:01Speaker 2: I'll make a list of ten places I don't want
- 10:02Speaker 2: to play, ten places I do. If I were a
- 10:04Speaker 2: young black male play bas I was watching Boozer after
- 10:10Speaker 2: he was drafted third in Memphis, right yeah, And they
- 10:13Speaker 2: go to the family room and so it's him, his dad,
- 10:17Speaker 2: his mom is two brothers, including his twin brother. Imagine
- 10:20Speaker 2: you're the twin I know. And it's not even that
- 10:24Speaker 2: you didn't get drafted in the same spot, because we
- 10:26Speaker 2: saw that with the Thompson brothers. They were both drafted
- 10:27Speaker 2: in the top eight or nine picks. One went to Detroit,
- 10:31Speaker 2: one went to Houston.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Oh I was seen Clay. I was like Clay Amen and.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Yeah I saw her, and I'm in yeah, Okay. They
- 10:38Speaker 2: both got drafted lottery picks. So you go, oh, wow, dang,
- 10:42Speaker 2: that's crazy. One twin brother is looked at us better
- 10:45Speaker 2: than the other three or four picks difference. That's crazy.
- 10:49Speaker 2: You got the Boozer twins. One of them gets drafted
- 10:52Speaker 2: third overall, the other one doesn't even go in the draft.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I know, yeah, yeah, yesterday it was like one of
- 10:57Speaker 1: my kids was watching. He's like the Grizzlies Boozer and
- 11:01Speaker 1: then the other kid goes, which one the bad one
- 11:03Speaker 1: or the good one?
- 11:04Speaker 3: Oh no, Hey.
- 11:06Speaker 2: How about Cooper Flag though, Yeah, he's got a twin brother. Yeah,
- 11:10Speaker 2: he's playing at Maine. You're the twin and you.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Don't and so much talk about your brother.
- 11:18Speaker 2: And you're the twins, and not only is that about
- 11:20Speaker 2: your brother, but everybody wants to ask, Hey, what's it
- 11:22Speaker 2: like being the twin?
- 11:23Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 11:24Speaker 3: I worry about my kids with that.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Yeah, but at least you're this one boy, one girl. Yeah,
- 11:28Speaker 2: because they're not gonna be on the same team, they're
- 11:30Speaker 2: gonna be compared to each other constantly. But the Boozer twins, yeah,
- 11:34Speaker 2: they played together, same team, same school, all of the
- 11:37Speaker 2: Thompson brother same team, same everything.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Yeah, So I kind of felt bad for the brother
- 11:43Speaker 2: in the back because the brother that had been drafted
- 11:45Speaker 2: with dressed in all white, his dad was on the
- 11:46Speaker 2: couch and the other brother, the guard, the smaller one,
- 11:49Speaker 2: was back there in the back in a black suit,
- 11:52Speaker 2: just chilling, and I didn't I didn't like how they
- 11:54Speaker 2: made me feel. I feel bad for him.
- 11:57Speaker 1: You know what I was thinking, Do you take your
- 11:59Speaker 1: girlfriend to that with you?
- 12:01Speaker 2: Because like, there are only two ways you do One
- 12:05Speaker 2: if it's a very serious relationship and you've been together
- 12:07Speaker 2: a long time, or two she's just starting to be
- 12:10Speaker 2: your girlfriend and you want to flex so hard. Okay,
- 12:12Speaker 2: if it's like a new ish three months, probably you
- 12:18Speaker 2: can't or can't, But maybe I wouldn't because I wouldn't
- 12:21Speaker 2: want to put her on TV. It depends how problematic
- 12:23Speaker 2: she was about it. But I think the two ways
- 12:25Speaker 2: you really do it is if you're together together for
- 12:27Speaker 2: a long time and if you're just like wanting to
- 12:30Speaker 2: convince her to be there. Yeah, because that's a super
- 12:33Speaker 2: flex Because there are certain videos like Russell Wilson when
- 12:36Speaker 2: he was drafted and his girlfriend at the time was
- 12:38Speaker 2: like ah, and the meme is when when you think
- 12:41Speaker 2: you're getting the bag, but you ain't exact because it's
- 12:43Speaker 2: not the same girl.
- 12:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and then you think, like you guys, tonight, your
- 12:47Speaker 1: life is changing a lot, Like you're bringing your girlfriend
- 12:52Speaker 1: to something that like is probably the reason.
- 12:54Speaker 2: You won't be together in the next year. It reminds
- 12:58Speaker 2: me of going to college and people coming to college
- 13:02Speaker 2: that had a girlfriend already that didn't go to the
- 13:04Speaker 2: same college. Yes, like they graduated high school, they had
- 13:06Speaker 2: a girlfriend, and they decided where are we going to
- 13:08Speaker 2: stay together? And now I'm gonna go to Arkansas and
- 13:10Speaker 2: you're gonna go to Texas and we'll probably we'll stay
- 13:14Speaker 2: together for sure, Like you ain't stay together.
- 13:17Speaker 3: You come home the first time, you're like.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, my son's my my buddy's son decided to
- 13:24Speaker 1: go to Auburn just because his girlfriend was at Auburn,
- 13:27Speaker 1: and my buddy was like, dude, this is tough for me, Like,
- 13:30Speaker 1: I just it's hard because I know they love each other,
- 13:32Speaker 1: but I don't know if they're going to stay together,
- 13:34Speaker 1: And is he making that decision just for the girl.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Probably the only thing good about that is that Auburn
- 13:40Speaker 2: is a really big, cool university and even if it
- 13:43Speaker 2: doesn't work out, you're still at a really cool place.
- 13:45Speaker 2: That's true if you had the option to go to
- 13:49Speaker 2: a big SEC school that had the complete college lifestyle,
- 13:52Speaker 2: but your girl was going to Concordia, same musing state, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 13:59Speaker 2: I'm following her part Concordia right right, instead of going
- 14:02Speaker 2: to Florida, That's where I think it would start to be,
- 14:06Speaker 2: Oh no, what's he doing? Do I need to step
- 14:08Speaker 2: in a big school like that? You're kind of gonna
- 14:11Speaker 2: get the experience. Even if you break up, it's still
- 14:13Speaker 2: going to be all because even if it doesn't work out,
- 14:14Speaker 2: there's plenty of you's.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Still at all, plenty of other girls.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Yeah, So any thoughts from the draft.
- 14:22Speaker 1: I just it was hard for me to explain to
- 14:24Speaker 1: my wife that it's okay that the cameras in front
- 14:27Speaker 1: of these people that haven't gotten picked yet, you know,
- 14:29Speaker 1: because she was like, oh my gosh, it's so sad
- 14:31Speaker 1: that like they keep putting the camera in front of
- 14:33Speaker 1: these guys that are just waiting to be picked and
- 14:36Speaker 1: they never get picked.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I'm like, that's part of it. Yeah. They also all
- 14:39Speaker 2: know where they're probably going to fall in and they
- 14:43Speaker 2: have to get invited to be there, meaning there is
- 14:47Speaker 2: an understanding and there's intelligence gathered by the NBA to
- 14:53Speaker 2: know that it's fine to invite these people here. Because
- 14:57Speaker 2: we've had so many Aaron Rodgers type situations. I mean
- 15:00Speaker 2: three or four that I can think of, where the
- 15:02Speaker 2: player just sits there and it's humiliating and they don't
- 15:05Speaker 2: want that, so they want to make sure that does
- 15:08Speaker 2: not happen. So, yeah, if you're there, you're there because
- 15:11Speaker 2: you're most likely going to be a lottery And that's
- 15:14Speaker 2: what I told her.
- 15:14Speaker 1: They're eventually going to get to them. They just didn't
- 15:17Speaker 1: fall where they expected them to fall. So and it
- 15:19Speaker 1: could be for many reasons, like it could just be
- 15:21Speaker 1: the team that wants them is waiting and they're in
- 15:23Speaker 1: the back of the draft, like it's not there.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Weren't the guys though there in the late first round
- 15:27Speaker 2: where they're usually they only have lottery guys there.
- 15:30Speaker 1: No, I think she was talking about the guy from Alabama, Uh,
- 15:34Speaker 1: file Filon Uh, one of the guys from and he
- 15:38Speaker 1: was expect Baron he was supposed to go earlier and
- 15:40Speaker 1: he didn't.
- 15:41Speaker 2: He was just sitting there for like eight So was
- 15:42Speaker 2: he a projected lottery yeah guy. Yeah. I watched it
- 15:46Speaker 2: all the way till A cuff was drafted. That was
- 15:48Speaker 2: early seven. Yeah, and then I flipped back over during
- 15:52Speaker 2: and I kept watching on the app. I just wanted
- 15:54Speaker 2: to see what Oklhom City would get in the trained
- 15:55Speaker 2: and they got that huge kid from Michigan. Yeah, they
- 15:57Speaker 2: got to stop Wimby Mark Mara, the kid that was
- 16:01Speaker 2: he's at UCLA then transferred to Michigan. He's seven foot four. Yeah,
- 16:04Speaker 2: he doesn't run well, but it doesn't matter. They need
- 16:06Speaker 2: big bodies.
- 16:08Speaker 1: So yeah, the Spurs ended up getting a big man too.
- 16:12Speaker 1: I guess to kind of give.
- 16:14Speaker 2: Me a break and still have a president.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, the Kentucky big Man.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Did you guys have anybody in your hometown that went
- 16:21Speaker 2: pro that we knew or that you knew of, And
- 16:26Speaker 2: you're like, when you were going to school, Oh, is
- 16:29Speaker 2: there anybody that you think back when you played that
- 16:33Speaker 2: was really awesome around that time? Well that the hopes
- 16:37Speaker 2: were kind of on.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I played against and played within the All Star Game.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Ronnie Hillman who won Super Bowl with the Broncos.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Was he at school a baller in high school?
- 16:47Speaker 3: Oh?
- 16:47Speaker 2: Yeah? Was he the guy in your county? Yeah?
- 16:50Speaker 3: Like he knocked us out of the playoffs. There was
- 16:51Speaker 3: a great game. But they also had another running back
- 16:53Speaker 3: who went to Fresno State and then in Byu who's
- 16:56Speaker 3: really good too, but he was like just so fast,
- 16:59Speaker 3: and so much better than everybody else out on that field.
- 17:02Speaker 3: But he liked the nicest guy ever. We played again,
- 17:03Speaker 3: someone was trying to get in his head a little bit,
- 17:05Speaker 3: you know, and I would just like say something, just
- 17:07Speaker 3: talking crap, and then he'd be like, m hm, he's
- 17:10Speaker 3: just that good where he's like I don't even need
- 17:12Speaker 3: to talk.
- 17:12Speaker 2: So in your three four five years of near high school,
- 17:16Speaker 2: was he the guy? Yes, did you have one of
- 17:19Speaker 2: those dug guys?
- 17:21Speaker 1: We had a guy that was really good at baseball
- 17:23Speaker 1: and he ended up going to Tulane, and I remember
- 17:26Speaker 1: there was a lot of like press, newspaper people and
- 17:29Speaker 1: like TV people coming to interview him all the time.
- 17:31Speaker 1: But no, dude, we were all little Mexican dudes, you know,
- 17:34Speaker 1: and like we didn't get anywhere. Even if our team
- 17:37Speaker 1: was successful in district. Once we went to the regional
- 17:41Speaker 1: level or the state level, it was over.
- 17:43Speaker 2: So we had a guy that we played against in baseball.
- 17:46Speaker 2: He was also the quarterback on the box site football team,
- 17:49Speaker 2: but he played baseball against us at box size. Name
- 17:52Speaker 2: was Jay Darr and I think he ended up making
- 17:55Speaker 2: it to the minor leagues. But he was that guy
- 17:57Speaker 2: where everyone's like, that's freaking j do. He was a
- 17:59Speaker 2: year older. He's one of the pros. He wanted the pros,
- 18:02Speaker 2: and I tried to find him. I can't really find
- 18:06Speaker 2: I look J j A Y d h R. I'm
- 18:09Speaker 2: not even sure, let'say spelled his name. But he was
- 18:11Speaker 2: that guy. Everyone was talking about him every Yeah, when
- 18:14Speaker 2: he pitched people from town or people from his talent,
- 18:19Speaker 2: the stands were definitely a little more full. But I
- 18:23Speaker 2: don't know how to spell J Darr. I wonder if
- 18:26Speaker 2: it's like JJ and then d A R or maybe
- 18:29Speaker 2: it's d R d A r R J Darr. You
- 18:33Speaker 2: know where he went? Did you say where he went? Yeah?
- 18:35Speaker 2: Box Eyed high School? No, but in the college. I
- 18:38Speaker 2: think he went to the miners, straight to the miners.
- 18:42Speaker 2: There's a guy named J. Darr. Remember when we found
- 18:46Speaker 2: John Lepley, who was the first autograph I ever got
- 18:48Speaker 2: with the Arkansas Travelers. Yes, that was awesome. I would
- 18:51Speaker 2: think that this guy J. Darr would end up being
- 18:53Speaker 2: like a coach or something if I were just really
- 18:56Speaker 2: doing the thing where you guess what happened in someone's life.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Because he was such a good ath late and then
- 19:00Speaker 2: he didn't make the majors.
- 19:01Speaker 3: I found a guy on Baseball Reference J Darr from Benton, Arkansas.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Yeah, that's him for years old, Yeah, a year older
- 19:08Speaker 2: than me.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Yeah. Glen Rose High School maybe.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Or Box Side is where he played football and baseball?
- 19:12Speaker 2: Is he coaching at?
- 19:14Speaker 3: This is just his stats?
- 19:15Speaker 2: How do you spell his name? J A Y and
- 19:19Speaker 2: then Dar is just d A r r Oh J Darr. Yeah,
- 19:24Speaker 2: he was the dude man minor league baseball statistics. Yeah,
- 19:27Speaker 2: I'm there too. I don't even know what he's doing now.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Yeah, he got drafted by the Padres in the third round.
- 19:34Speaker 2: J Dar. There's someone that's a Jdar that's a rental
- 19:36Speaker 2: operations manager on Little Rock. Oh. I see that says
- 19:40Speaker 2: he's head baseball coach. Yeah, it's gotta be this, gotta
- 19:43Speaker 2: be the guy.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Huh.
- 19:44Speaker 2: Yeah, he was that dude, Jdar, white guy. Yeah, operations
- 19:49Speaker 2: manager Caterpillar, Arkansas. He was the dude. That's crazy. If
- 19:53Speaker 2: I saw him now, it cand of be starstruck. But
- 19:55Speaker 2: like he's regional manager. Ad Like, you're freaking Jdar. Everything
- 19:58Speaker 2: we played against that crazy the town. We'll talk about it.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Can you look up Jake Gertrude?
- 20:02Speaker 3: Oh?
- 20:03Speaker 2: Oh good, yeah, j a k E. Yeah, and then I.
- 20:08Speaker 3: Wasn't worried about the first name.
- 20:09Speaker 1: By the way, Gertrude is like, how would you spell that?
- 20:12Speaker 2: G G E R t r U d E. Yeah.
- 20:14Speaker 2: And then the two lane baseball. Yeah, so we know
- 20:19Speaker 2: where Kevin's ended up in the pros.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Seeah, I know that's true.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Do you have anybody where you're from.
- 20:24Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a guy named Colton Kan who went on
- 20:27Speaker 4: to be a relief picture in the MLB.
- 20:28Speaker 2: That's cool. Wow. When he was playing, was everyone that's cool?
- 20:31Speaker 4: Oh yeah, he was like bigger than everybody. He was
- 20:33Speaker 4: really good, like from like seventh grade. And then yeah,
- 20:37Speaker 4: I think he played on the Padres and then the Astros.
- 20:40Speaker 2: That's really cool. What a cool name to last name?
- 20:43Speaker 2: Kane is just awesome. You don't think J darsical name? Yeah?
- 20:46Speaker 2: J J Dar's legit. We started getting defensive about the names.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Did you find Jake.
- 20:51Speaker 3: I think played there from ninety nine to two thousand
- 20:53Speaker 3: and one, that'd be right. Yeah, his name is spelled
- 20:56Speaker 3: g a U t r e a U.
- 20:58Speaker 2: We were way off swinging as that one. Dude.
- 21:01Speaker 3: He hit a career batting older World Series three forty
- 21:05Speaker 3: four to fifty eight.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Home runs at the College World Series.
- 21:07Speaker 3: No, it just says career batting. I'm not sure what
- 21:10Speaker 3: I think.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Dang, that's cool.
- 21:12Speaker 3: Did you ever have anybody when you guys are younger
- 21:13Speaker 3: that was like the dude and like, I don't know,
- 21:16Speaker 3: from second grade to like eighth grade and then everybody
- 21:19Speaker 3: else just passed him up.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Side wise at my school, yeah, we had guys
- 21:24Speaker 2: that developed really early. Yeah, and we're so fast and
- 21:29Speaker 2: then everybody caught up with them. Yeah.
- 21:31Speaker 3: I just remember those guys still to this day more
- 21:33Speaker 3: than anything, just being like, dang, everyone were so young.
- 21:35Speaker 3: They were like the.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Guy that's like one of my boys, he used to
- 21:37Speaker 1: score forty points a game, and now he's like he's
- 21:39Speaker 1: lucky if he scores like seven, just because he's just
- 21:42Speaker 1: he's everyone got taller than him.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Do you guys think I should play Howie Mandel in
- 21:47Speaker 2: Cards for ten thousand dollars? Uh? Poker? Hold him?
- 21:53Speaker 1: Yea?
- 21:53Speaker 2: Who know?
- 21:55Speaker 3: Oh?
- 21:55Speaker 2: Yeah I think you should.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Yes, heck yeah, because it doesn't matter what you play,
- 22:00Speaker 1: you're going to research how to win it.
- 22:02Speaker 2: You can do it, dude.
- 22:03Speaker 3: If it's one on one, know, is it just one game?
- 22:06Speaker 2: Best of so I was talking to Howie Mandel. Interview
- 22:11Speaker 2: comes out some point soon, and he is a big streamer,
- 22:16Speaker 2: and so he played, not Neo because Neo has the
- 22:20Speaker 2: song with Matt Still, it's another singer who it was Neo?
- 22:24Speaker 2: Oh that's it? Oh he played? Okay, Okay, he played.
- 22:26Speaker 2: He played for ten thousand dollars on his stream, and
- 22:31Speaker 2: so I said, okay, if I come out there, we'll play.
- 22:33Speaker 2: But then yeah, I just kind of be yes, you know, dude,
- 22:36Speaker 2: if I could I pick any game, any card game,
- 22:40Speaker 2: skip Bow? What the heck is that you never played
- 22:43Speaker 2: skip bo? I don't know what that is.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Oh okay, so yeah picked that one.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Well, no, you have to, you know, know how to
- 22:49Speaker 2: play it too, because.
- 22:51Speaker 1: Even if it was like hold him dide, I think
- 22:53Speaker 1: you should do that.
- 22:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not going to play one on one poker
- 22:55Speaker 2: because if you're not a poker player, you're going to
- 22:58Speaker 2: feel like you're at a disadvantage. And I think I
- 23:00Speaker 2: don't think he's a poker player. U. No, everybody's an
- 23:03Speaker 2: Uno player, even if you're not a Nuno player. Yes,
- 23:06Speaker 2: do you think I should take heck? Yeah, one thousand
- 23:08Speaker 2: dollars cash? Yep? Would it be worth it if I
- 23:10Speaker 2: lost it.
- 23:11Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, even dude even to say that you lost
- 23:14Speaker 1: it to Howie Mandel like playing his game, Yes.
- 23:16Speaker 3: Playing Mike.
- 23:17Speaker 2: You think he was serious? Oh yeah, definitely. Because he
- 23:20Speaker 2: invited me to his warehouse where he does.
- 23:22Speaker 1: His shows in California.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Well he has his show and he has those
- 23:27Speaker 2: AI boxes where the celebrities are. Yeah. Have you seen those?
- 23:31Speaker 2: Like airports? Uh, And so the celebrities pop up. It's
- 23:34Speaker 2: like a hologram. But you can also use them to
- 23:37Speaker 2: actually be in a place and be with someone at
- 23:39Speaker 2: the same time. Like his example was Slash could actually
- 23:45Speaker 2: be with a phone on him and then if you
- 23:47Speaker 2: have that box at your house, Slash could give you
- 23:48Speaker 2: guitar lessons like in real time. That's cool. But also
- 23:53Speaker 2: at airports, you can just go in and they have
- 23:54Speaker 2: like a hundred celebrities in there and you can just
- 23:56Speaker 2: like talk to them pay for what airports You've never
- 23:59Speaker 2: seen mean either. So, but he has part of that
- 24:02Speaker 2: company and he was walking us around his warehouse showing
- 24:07Speaker 2: and it's a big streamer and he was like, I
- 24:08Speaker 2: play Neo for ten thousand and let's play. I was like,
- 24:11Speaker 2: I'm in. But then like now, I gotta go, dude,
- 24:14Speaker 2: you have to do it. That'd be awesome.
- 24:17Speaker 3: Yeah, you can get to some other stuff while you're there.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I did grip and I did say, hey, if I
- 24:21Speaker 2: come out, I want a big picture of Bobby's World
- 24:22Speaker 2: signed by you, that Bobby's World character. Yeah, I say
- 24:26Speaker 2: a deal. Yeah, he was super nice. You think we
- 24:28Speaker 2: could pull that off, Mike?
- 24:30Speaker 3: I think so, Yeah, gotta do it. I've seen you
- 24:34Speaker 3: spend ten grand on crazier things for sure, Like what, oh,
- 24:38Speaker 3: my first thing that comes to my mind is a
- 24:39Speaker 3: big box.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I about it. Hey, your free to talk the cards, right,
- 24:43Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. I don't know if
- 24:45Speaker 2: that's how much they were. Was it?
- 24:46Speaker 3: It was twenty five?
- 24:47Speaker 2: Was oh oh that one? Yeah? For my birthday we
- 24:49Speaker 2: opened I was twenty grand. Yeah, we talked about on
- 24:51Speaker 2: the show. Yeah, because I called to tell my wife, Hey,
- 24:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna send twenty grand on this box of cars.
- 24:55Speaker 2: And then we opened them and I made I actually
- 24:57Speaker 2: made money on that one, did you really? Yeah? I
- 25:00Speaker 2: still have a lot of them too. I got the
- 25:01Speaker 2: John F. Kennedy autograph in.
- 25:02Speaker 3: That I remember, I was gonna say, I remember, like, yeah, Okay, Kennedy.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I still have haven't sold that one, okay. I've probably
- 25:07Speaker 2: made about eight thousand dollars back from that, and I
- 25:10Speaker 2: have so many of those cards still, and I went
- 25:12Speaker 2: and did a whole inventory on them because I keep
- 25:15Speaker 2: everything on my notes app sports cards right here, and
- 25:19Speaker 2: so I have this is just like the top twenty
- 25:22Speaker 2: that I have up dang from that fifteen hundred, twelve
- 25:27Speaker 2: fifty twelve fifty, one thousand, one thousand and one thousand,
- 25:29Speaker 2: eight hundred. So this is from that one box. Good
- 25:31Speaker 2: a lot of boxes. I've not made my money.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Back, okay, So you're not talking about the one where
- 25:34Speaker 1: you're looking for the Lebron.
- 25:35Speaker 2: So that one was that was hard. I think it's
- 25:37Speaker 2: about twelve thousand on that one that was and then
- 25:40Speaker 2: made nothing. That was We were in New York for
- 25:43Speaker 2: Fanatics Fest.
- 25:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I remember that too, actually yep, oh yeah, wait.
- 25:47Speaker 3: It was a guy at the table.
- 25:48Speaker 2: We had the table rightyes, We're at a table. Everyone
- 25:50Speaker 2: set it up and gathered around. I didn't hit a
- 25:52Speaker 2: single Lebron rookie.
- 25:53Speaker 3: Oh I remember that now.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Then there were like three rookies I could have hit
- 25:56Speaker 2: that would have been good. I hit nothing and I
- 25:57Speaker 2: was like, oh, it's just like playing roulette.
- 25:59Speaker 1: You got like a Stodammere And I still have it
- 26:02Speaker 1: rookie and I hate it, yeah, because it brings back
- 26:05Speaker 1: bad memories.
- 26:06Speaker 2: I have it still to the house.
- 26:07Speaker 1: You know what you gave me like a while back,
- 26:09Speaker 1: and like, I just I just have it. And I
- 26:11Speaker 1: never thought about it until like a couple of days ago.
- 26:13Speaker 1: You gave me two Wemby rookies. Yeah, and I'm like, dude,
- 26:17Speaker 1: I have Wemby Rookies. That's so cool.
- 26:19Speaker 2: So I don't know.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I'm probably gonna get him graded. I think I should
- 26:22Speaker 1: get him graded and then hang on to him, right,
- 26:24Speaker 1: because if he's the best of all time in the
- 26:27Speaker 1: next you know, twenty.
- 26:28Speaker 2: Years, Yeah, getting him gread it takes a long time.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Our friend Steve sent off like twenty Jordan's to get graded,
- 26:36Speaker 2: and no tens came back. No tens two nine, a
- 26:40Speaker 2: bunch of eights. I felt so bad. And eights are
- 26:43Speaker 2: like nothing, right, I mean, there's still nine. Nine is
- 26:46Speaker 2: about the value you expect, maybe slightly more innate, unless
- 26:50Speaker 2: it's an old card. It's where it's you've lost value
- 26:52Speaker 2: on it and that's not good. Or if it's like
- 26:55Speaker 2: an autograph. That's different because if it's a certain kind
- 26:57Speaker 2: of autograph, it doesn't really matter the condition of the card,
- 26:59Speaker 2: as long as it's not completely beat up. But yeah,
- 27:02Speaker 2: you don't want eights, nines are fine, you want tens,
- 27:06Speaker 2: And he sent I was texting with him about it.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Here you go. I got my twenty two Jordan's back
- 27:15Speaker 2: from PSA, not a single ten, and he numbered them.
- 27:21Speaker 2: He has three six's, three sevens, fourteen eights and two nines.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Oh that's terrible. And it costs a bunch to get
- 27:30Speaker 2: stuff greaded. It takes like three months to get anything back.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Now much too for like one card? Oh twelve fifteen bucks. Okay,
- 27:37Speaker 2: because I that's me guessing.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I have a handful of cards that I should get
- 27:40Speaker 1: taken care of.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Yeah, if I've never been pulled out of a sleeve,
- 27:44Speaker 3: if your boys ever touched.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Them, No, nobody, nobody can touch those U. Two I
- 27:47Speaker 1: got from our little party that we went to, our
- 27:49Speaker 1: top party.
- 27:50Speaker 2: It was.
- 27:52Speaker 1: A rod a rod auto you know, Anna Miguel Cabre.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Yeah, we got to go to a party in Baltimore
- 27:57Speaker 2: because of that box that I bought for twenty grand.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I forgot about uh and who is it? Rechmand people?
- 28:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and who's the other guy, the other Baltimore young guy.
- 28:08Speaker 2: It wasn't holiday, no, no, no, it was the year
- 28:11Speaker 2: before holiday. Gosh what's his name?
- 28:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I know Gunner Henderson.
- 28:17Speaker 2: That's it.
- 28:17Speaker 3: That's it.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Yeah, So I might go play Howie Mandel Mike, because
- 28:22Speaker 2: Mike's the one that deals with people if they'll do it.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I don't know who you talked to from that that camp.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Who did you email with?
- 28:31Speaker 3: You know, you're just a PR team.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yeah, just say hey, how I mentioned it? You know?
- 28:36Speaker 2: He'd play Bobby into around. It's if he was serious
- 28:40Speaker 2: about streaming for a card game for ten thousand dollars.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Get if so they'd be like what, yeah he said,
- 28:46Speaker 2: he said what if? So I'll tell you this guy
- 28:50Speaker 2: I come back.
- 28:50Speaker 1: They're like, no, how he's been trying, you know, we're
- 28:52Speaker 1: trying to get him not to gamble anymore.
- 28:55Speaker 3: He's going through a phase right now.
- 28:57Speaker 2: But I should do it right, Yes, did you watch
- 29:01Speaker 2: the soccer game last night? I did?
- 29:04Speaker 1: I did only because I bet over three and a half.
- 29:08Speaker 2: It hit that huh, it hit five? So I saw
- 29:12Speaker 2: America score quick, oh so quick? And that's when I bet.
- 29:16Speaker 1: I was like, Oh, they're gonna score a lot now
- 29:18Speaker 1: because they scored in the first five minutes.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Then I was like, who cares anyway, We're gonna win,
- 29:22Speaker 2: and not only we're gonna win, this game doesn't matter.
- 29:24Speaker 1: It didn't matter. It didn't matter for anyone really.
- 29:26Speaker 2: So I just would flip back on ESPN the app
- 29:30Speaker 2: to see where we were. Equalizer means when they evened up, right, Oh,
- 29:34Speaker 2: I don't know, and Mike is that equalizer when they
- 29:36Speaker 2: even it up? Yeah? Yeah, so equalizer happened one to one,
- 29:38Speaker 2: didn't Turkey scored again, two to one? Yeah. Then I
- 29:42Speaker 2: fell asleep, and then I woke up and saw America
- 29:45Speaker 2: had scored again. The United States had Yeah, I don't
- 29:47Speaker 2: think he scored, but polisit came back in. He can
- 29:50Speaker 2: not back in, but he came in Towards the end
- 29:52Speaker 2: of the game. I saw I played a little bit. Yeah,
- 29:53Speaker 2: which is weird. I don't know why you would do that.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Maybe reps shape say in shape, okay, game shape don't
- 29:58Speaker 2: have two weeks off a whole, it'd be a month.
- 30:01Speaker 2: That had been a month almost for him because he
- 30:02Speaker 2: didn't play all the first game right, you're right. So
- 30:06Speaker 2: and then Turkey scored at the end of the game.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Oh with I think within thirty seconds left.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Oh is it that tight? D Did you see it?
- 30:14Speaker 2: I did?
- 30:15Speaker 1: Were you like, oh, like disappointed or now? Because I
- 30:18Speaker 1: knew it didn't matter. The only thing I thought was like,
- 30:20Speaker 1: oh my gosh, this could be a big deal for
- 30:22Speaker 1: Turkey because they could get in. But then I did
- 30:25Speaker 1: the research and I'm like, no, they had no chance.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Didn't we play basically all the scrubs. Yeah, we played
- 30:31Speaker 1: our group, we played Australia.
- 30:33Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, the bench players oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeahah,
- 30:36Speaker 2: it was all scrubs. Nobody with a yellow card. Correct,
- 30:39Speaker 2: even polistic just played for a bit. Correct. But it
- 30:42Speaker 2: was all like second string because what I was seeing
- 30:45Speaker 2: was people talking about, Hey, this looks like what we
- 30:47Speaker 2: used to look like, and there's such a difference even
- 30:50Speaker 2: now with our first and second string. It's terrible at
- 30:52Speaker 2: our backups. Are you a good enough soccer watcher to
- 30:56Speaker 2: know that we were worse? I mean no, not really.
- 31:02Speaker 1: When I watch soccer, I look at the field as
- 31:04Speaker 1: a whole, right, and you just kind of look at
- 31:06Speaker 1: like the chest pieces move and you can tell when
- 31:09Speaker 1: you watch Argentina Brazil, like those good teams, it's always
- 31:14Speaker 1: on offense. Eighty percent of the game is on offense
- 31:18Speaker 1: on those good teams. I mean with us, the fact
- 31:20Speaker 1: that we scored so quickly, I was like, oh my gosh, mate,
- 31:24Speaker 1: with our scrubs, maybe we're better.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Than we thought. What were the announcers calling Turkey?
- 31:29Speaker 1: Oh that's a good point because obviously it's spelled takai
- 31:32Speaker 1: turkey A.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Yeah, turny yeah?
- 31:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Were they calling them that turkey A? I don't know,
- 31:39Speaker 1: I heard it? Yeah, did they say turkey a mike?
- 31:41Speaker 2: Yeah? So is that just their name? Though? Are we
- 31:44Speaker 2: just wrong?
- 31:45Speaker 4: I think there are a lot of countries like that
- 31:46Speaker 4: that we say it a certain way, like an Americanized version,
- 31:49Speaker 4: and they say it a completely different way.
- 31:50Speaker 2: See, that's not fair to me. But we're also having
- 31:53Speaker 2: Americans say it, So why aren't the Americans saying it
- 31:56Speaker 2: the American way?
- 31:57Speaker 4: Then it's like, I guess the universal way you say
- 31:59Speaker 4: somebody's country's names, and then the way they say.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Everybody agrees to the universal way.
- 32:03Speaker 1: I feel like we should call them whatever they call them, right,
- 32:05Speaker 1: Like if I call myself Eddie, I would like for
- 32:08Speaker 1: everyone to call me eddie.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I don't want someone else saying like the Yeah, but
- 32:14Speaker 2: we've been calling them Turkey forever up up until this game,
- 32:17Speaker 2: up until this World Cup.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I get it, But I mean that's so offensive to them,
- 32:21Speaker 1: isn't it.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Like some countries that are pronounced completely different than we're
- 32:24Speaker 2: talking talking about them anyway, like like even in their language.
- 32:28Speaker 2: Oh really yeah, we want to do their accents too,
- 32:30Speaker 2: but like Germany, they don't call themselves Germany, right, Steutschland? Yeah,
- 32:34Speaker 2: oh that's Deutschland.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:36Speaker 2: My point is I have no idea what to call anybody.
- 32:39Speaker 2: You know what, I don't give a crap how you identify.
- 32:41Speaker 2: I will respect it. That's it's my official statement. I
- 32:45Speaker 2: however you want to identify, it does not affect me
- 32:47Speaker 2: at all. I respect how you identify. Dude.
- 32:49Speaker 1: You know what I've been doing is if they score
- 32:52Speaker 1: a goal, I will record the Spanish broadcast and then
- 32:56Speaker 1: we go to the Spanish broadcast once because my kids
- 32:59Speaker 1: love hearing the Spanish broadcast of.
- 33:02Speaker 2: They still do that. Oh yeah, I listened to it too,
- 33:04Speaker 2: That's what I watch. Do you watch the whole thing
- 33:07Speaker 2: in Spanish? Do you know what they're saying? Yeah, much
- 33:09Speaker 2: better commentary. Oh you can understand what they're saying, so exciting.
- 33:12Speaker 2: I can't. It's way too fast. I was listening to
- 33:15Speaker 2: someone who I wish uto the podcast because I would
- 33:18Speaker 2: credit it. He was a soccer analyst talking about really
- 33:22Speaker 2: why we're not good at soccer. Obviously it's not our
- 33:27Speaker 2: main sport, but that these kids, these two three, four
- 33:31Speaker 2: five year olds, it's not that they're in leagues, but
- 33:34Speaker 2: they grow up playing with a ball with their feet
- 33:38Speaker 2: in their developmental stages and so correct even before they
- 33:43Speaker 2: start to play in any sort of league or team,
- 33:47Speaker 2: They've spent years learning how to use their body with
- 33:51Speaker 2: a ball before they actually start playing ball. Yeah, and
- 33:54Speaker 2: we don't, No, that's that's not what we do. There
- 33:56Speaker 2: are three year olds that will swing a golf club
- 33:59Speaker 2: or hit off a tee with a bat, but it's
- 34:01Speaker 2: not you put a soccer ball in front of a kid.
- 34:03Speaker 2: I just thought that was really interesting. Another thing that
- 34:06Speaker 2: I heard one of these experts on a different podcast.
- 34:09Speaker 2: I feel like such a loser for not being able
- 34:10Speaker 2: to credit who. But I've listened to a lot of
- 34:12Speaker 2: people talk about it is that they're really good coaches
- 34:17Speaker 2: in Europe and South America. Like they're really good, almost
- 34:20Speaker 2: the great ones. They won't coach the really high teams.
- 34:26Speaker 2: They have such an understanding of their youth needs to
- 34:32Speaker 2: be good. They will put them and have them coach
- 34:34Speaker 2: the twelve to fifteen year old oh, to get them
- 34:36Speaker 2: better earlier. They are paid so well to coach their
- 34:40Speaker 2: twelve and fifteen year olds. Wow, that they want to
- 34:44Speaker 2: make sure that they're really good, get great, and that's
- 34:48Speaker 2: the time to do that before they know. Like I
- 34:51Speaker 2: think Messi was sixteen when he started playing with his club,
- 34:54Speaker 2: his adult club team. He's young, but they have such
- 34:58Speaker 2: an appreciation and and they put their resources into those
- 35:01Speaker 2: coaches coaching eleven, twelve, thirteen to fourteen year olds.
- 35:04Speaker 1: Wow.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Interesting, I thought so too. They pay them a lot
- 35:08Speaker 2: of money. We're here. The younger you're coaching, the less
- 35:12Speaker 2: money you're making. Period.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Yeah, And like eleven year olds, you got dad's coaching
- 35:16Speaker 1: high school.
- 35:17Speaker 2: A great high school coach that's doing football is making
- 35:19Speaker 2: a few hundred thousand dollars a year in like Texas.
- 35:22Speaker 2: But generally high school coaches they're doing fine. But the
- 35:26Speaker 2: lower the classification not so much. And you go to college,
- 35:28Speaker 2: it's more NFL. It's the opposite, like the higher you are,
- 35:33Speaker 2: the better. Now in these countries, the best of the
- 35:35Speaker 2: best do coach the national teams and the big club teams,
- 35:42Speaker 2: but they really do put their great coaches with those
- 35:44Speaker 2: developmental developed, developmental kids.
- 35:46Speaker 1: What I thought was interesting is, uh, was it you
- 35:50Speaker 1: asking like how much the coaches?
- 35:52Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 35:53Speaker 1: The great question, because I feel like they don't know
- 35:56Speaker 1: these guys, like how much did they really impact? Yeah,
- 36:00Speaker 1: you're just thrown into like all right, you're coaching the
- 36:02Speaker 1: national team now, and here's your squad, and then you're
- 36:05Speaker 1: just like, oh man, all right, let's get to know
- 36:07Speaker 1: these guys.
- 36:08Speaker 2: So what I also learned from that that I think
- 36:11Speaker 2: Taylor Twelveman was on with us. Now he didn't say
- 36:13Speaker 2: this specifically, but I was listening to I know, I
- 36:17Speaker 2: was listening to PFT comment or talk about this that
- 36:21Speaker 2: the style that this coach that we have with the
- 36:24Speaker 2: United States has is on defense. When they have the ball,
- 36:30Speaker 2: pretty much our whole team runs to the ball. It
- 36:32Speaker 2: is a much more cardio running, aggressive defensive style. Well,
- 36:40Speaker 2: when America's on defense, yeah, okay, everybody goes to the ball. Okay.
- 36:43Speaker 2: What he compared it to thankfully American wives was Tips
- 36:47Speaker 2: who coached the Knicks, who never took his players out,
- 36:49Speaker 2: and that was his thing with the next last year
- 36:50Speaker 2: obviously that he didn't win the championship, he was fired
- 36:52Speaker 2: last year. But he would play those guys the whole game.
- 36:55Speaker 2: They'd run a six man rotation, like occasionally someone would
- 36:59Speaker 2: sub in for one of the five, and Tips his
- 37:02Speaker 2: reputation was, you're one of the five. You're playing the
- 37:04Speaker 2: whole game. It's aggressive, but by the end of the game,
- 37:06Speaker 2: you're worn out. This coach has that same style and
- 37:11Speaker 2: he would often and I don't know which league he
- 37:15Speaker 2: coached in, let's just say Premier League, it's only league
- 37:17Speaker 2: I now. When he was coaching a Premier League team,
- 37:20Speaker 2: they would often peter out at the end of their
- 37:22Speaker 2: seasons too, because they would be just exhausted. So he's
- 37:24Speaker 2: a great coach, but his style was hard. But why
- 37:27Speaker 2: it works for us now is you're talking about a
- 37:29Speaker 2: single tournament with with with a weight, ten games and
- 37:34Speaker 2: a week rest. Yeah, but his style is so much
- 37:37Speaker 2: of that, which is way different than the other coach
- 37:39Speaker 2: that we had, and generally the other coaches who okay,
- 37:42Speaker 2: we're on defense, get in your positions, Yeah, and play
- 37:45Speaker 2: defense accordingly.
- 37:46Speaker 1: So would it be equivalent to like a trap in basketball.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Like if you're trapping the whole if you're know what
- 37:50Speaker 2: it would be equivalent to his full court press the
- 37:52Speaker 2: whole game, full court press.
- 37:53Speaker 1: Arkansas did forty minutes a hell with Nolan Richardson. That's
- 37:56Speaker 1: what it would be, the equivalent. That's what they call it,
- 37:57Speaker 1: forty minutes of hell.
- 37:59Speaker 2: That's cool because when the game started, it's full court
- 38:01Speaker 2: press the whole game. We would kill people. We want
- 38:03Speaker 2: a national championship. Don't know what to do. But you
- 38:04Speaker 2: had to have super athletes to do that, and he
- 38:07Speaker 2: had to be in great shape. I think that's the
- 38:10Speaker 2: comparison to what we do on defense now from what
- 38:12Speaker 2: I've learned.
- 38:14Speaker 1: You know what's so amazing about Messi is if you
- 38:17Speaker 1: watch Messi and just watch him when you're watching the game,
- 38:19Speaker 1: he doesn't run a lot like he really just kind
- 38:23Speaker 1: of jogs a little bit, walks a lot, But when
- 38:26Speaker 1: it's his time to get in position, he sprints. He's
- 38:29Speaker 1: not tired. When he has the ball, he hasn't been running,
- 38:32Speaker 1: so he's not tired. He's got so much energy. It's
- 38:35Speaker 1: almost like experience to learn that you can conserve your
- 38:38Speaker 1: energy and move when you really need to instead of
- 38:41Speaker 1: running the entire game.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Or is it because he plays in the midfield and
- 38:44Speaker 2: he doesn't have to go very far? Or is it
- 38:47Speaker 2: like an NBA player who doesn't play like Kyrie Irving
- 38:50Speaker 2: doesn't play defense, he's carry midfielder. I don't know, but
- 38:54Speaker 2: Kyrie Irving is such a great offensive player they don't
- 38:56Speaker 2: want him getting tired on defense. Yeah, so he's a
- 38:58Speaker 2: weak defensive player because if he plays defense so hard,
- 39:02Speaker 2: he's not gonna have the energy to play offense for
- 39:04Speaker 2: as good as he is. So he kind of sucks
- 39:07Speaker 2: a defense. Yeah. But I when I see that with
- 39:10Speaker 2: MESSI I wonder if that's what is he's such an
- 39:12Speaker 2: elite scorer. If he's playing really hard defense, he doesn't
- 39:14Speaker 2: get to be elite at what he's elite at. He
- 39:16Speaker 2: won't have that energy.
- 39:17Speaker 1: What has he played? You know, he's a forward? Okay,
- 39:19Speaker 1: I don't know what that means. Is that in the middle, Nah,
- 39:21Speaker 1: it's like in the front, And yeah, he's a score.
- 39:23Speaker 1: So he's not really having to play that much defense anyway, No,
- 39:25Speaker 1: not really, but I mean, yeah, you have to because
- 39:29Speaker 1: you're the front line, but like once it.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Gets past year, you're not run a bag all the
- 39:32Speaker 2: way there, right put. Your best player is a forward?
- 39:34Speaker 2: Offensive player?
- 39:35Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 39:35Speaker 2: Offensive player? Yeah?
- 39:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 39:38Speaker 2: I feel like it's an NBA player who's really good
- 39:39Speaker 2: at offense who they don't make play that much defense
- 39:41Speaker 2: and he kind of sucks. But that's the give because
- 39:43Speaker 2: he's so good offensively that you don't His job is
- 39:46Speaker 2: not to play intense defense.
- 39:49Speaker 3: But I know nothing.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I know I don't either.
- 39:50Speaker 1: But back to what you're saying about, like why other
- 39:52Speaker 1: countries are so good. I remember being little and we'd
- 39:56Speaker 1: go to Mexico City and to go visit some friends
- 39:58Speaker 1: or whatever. He probably went like ten times when I
- 40:00Speaker 1: was growing up. But I noticed that when we'd go
- 40:03Speaker 1: to a playground, there weren't basketball goals. There weren't hoops.
- 40:09Speaker 1: They were all soccer goals. Oh you noticed that?
- 40:12Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 40:12Speaker 1: I remember that because I'd be like, well, let's play
- 40:14Speaker 1: basketball and they're like, oh, we don't have that goal.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Is like, you know, in another neighborhood, because every park
- 40:20Speaker 1: had a soccer goal.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Do you do you ever notice that? Mic? Yeah?
- 40:22Speaker 4: I also think about the terrain, Like I would just
- 40:24Speaker 4: go and be in a ranch and be a dirt
- 40:26Speaker 4: field and you just play soccer.
- 40:27Speaker 2: You can't play football there. You can't play basketball. It's
- 40:29Speaker 2: also super cheap to play. Yeah, it's a great point too.
- 40:33Speaker 2: There he needs the ball in shoes. It's why a
- 40:37Speaker 2: lot of kids can play basketball. Now. Of course you
- 40:40Speaker 2: do need a rim in the goal, but goals are
- 40:42Speaker 2: pretty cheap and you can kind of patch a goal
- 40:45Speaker 2: together if you need to and have to. Where football
- 40:47Speaker 2: is more expensive, Baseball you need players and equipment a
- 40:49Speaker 2: lot of players, or basketball you don't need that many.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Then you get to the rich sports like skiing. Oh gosh,
- 40:55Speaker 2: never been done that. You ever skied? Never even seen
- 40:58Speaker 2: a ski?
- 40:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I ski when I was in high school, snow
- 41:02Speaker 1: one time, one time only, and we didn't understand what
- 41:06Speaker 1: the diamonds were and the colors of the slopes. So
- 41:09Speaker 1: my brother and I we got up there and we're like,
- 41:12Speaker 1: all right, dude, let's go, let's just hit the diamond
- 41:14Speaker 1: like that's where this thing is taking us the whatever,
- 41:16Speaker 1: the snow, the the lift or whatever.
- 41:19Speaker 2: And dude, we got out.
- 41:20Speaker 1: And this is after an hour of ski school, because
- 41:23Speaker 1: you're required to have ski school before you even like
- 41:25Speaker 1: hit the slopes if you've never skied before. And so
- 41:28Speaker 1: we get up there and I remember getting off that
- 41:31Speaker 1: lift and just seeing, dude, we were on top of
- 41:32Speaker 1: the mountain and I remember seeing a.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Huge, huge steep slope and at.
- 41:38Speaker 1: The very end we're all like the shops the village, right,
- 41:42Speaker 1: and so we were like, hey, dude, let's just do it.
- 41:44Speaker 1: We're all the way up here, and I just almost
- 41:46Speaker 1: like you know the Olympics, the slalomo, the guy just
- 41:49Speaker 1: holds the skis up under his armfits or the hand
- 41:52Speaker 1: thing under his armpits and then just go straight.
- 41:54Speaker 2: That's what we did.
- 41:55Speaker 1: We were idiots, dude, because the ground just got closer
- 41:58Speaker 1: and closer close, and I just like I bailed. I
- 42:02Speaker 1: was like I have to bail, and bails in full.
- 42:04Speaker 1: I just fell backwards, almost like I'm dying. And that's
- 42:07Speaker 1: because that's the only way I could stop, or else
- 42:08Speaker 1: I was going to run into everyone down there. Would
- 42:12Speaker 1: you want to ski now?
- 42:13Speaker 2: No? Would you no to even do it once?
- 42:17Speaker 1: I mean I feel like with my kids, I would
- 42:19Speaker 1: have to just because I would like to do it
- 42:21Speaker 1: with Would you like to take them skiing?
- 42:22Speaker 2: Yes?
- 42:23Speaker 1: I think they would love ski I have no interest,
- 42:26Speaker 1: but I don't. I don't like cold. It's not even
- 42:28Speaker 1: the scan. I don't like any of that. And there's
- 42:29Speaker 1: nothing about that that interests me. I didn't grow up
- 42:32Speaker 1: around it, so that's a big reason. Yeah, so nothing
- 42:34Speaker 1: interests me about snow skining. I don't like cold, I
- 42:36Speaker 1: don't like snow, I don't like heights, and then I
- 42:39Speaker 1: don't want to tear something over twenty four.
- 42:41Speaker 2: I think it'd be different, different. I can think I'd
- 42:43Speaker 2: want to experience it, but there's nothing about skiing that
- 42:46Speaker 2: interests me. What about snowboarding?
- 42:48Speaker 1: Same because I've never snowboarded, and I feel like, if
- 42:51Speaker 1: I go back, I want a snowboard.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Scotty did that my friend, because when he moved to
- 42:55Speaker 2: Utah and Colorado said first down snowboard sent me an
- 42:58Speaker 2: x Ray broke his rest in two. Yeah, didn't even
- 43:01Speaker 2: on his hands.
- 43:02Speaker 1: He didn't even wipe out hard, just fell back, maybe
- 43:05Speaker 1: snapped it. But you can do that with anything fair.
- 43:09Speaker 1: I don't like things where you can slip. You're always slipping.
- 43:10Speaker 1: You're just fighting slipping all the time. On dude, that's
- 43:13Speaker 1: I stopped skateboarding. It's like I'm just asking for an injury.
- 43:16Speaker 2: At this point too, because you don't heal as fast.
- 43:18Speaker 2: Once I hit thirty, I'm like, I got to retire. Man.
- 43:20Speaker 1: I ran into another dad a couple of days ago
- 43:22Speaker 1: and he had a broken finger.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Like, what happened, dude? He's like, man, you just get old.
- 43:27Speaker 1: Like I dropped something between my seat and my console
- 43:29Speaker 1: and my car, and I jammed my hand down there
- 43:31Speaker 1: to get it.
- 43:32Speaker 2: He broke his finger. Broke my finger. I'm playing pickleball
- 43:35Speaker 2: for the first time next week since my surgery in November.
- 43:37Speaker 2: There we go. I'm a little nervous. I went to
- 43:39Speaker 2: worked out with Kevin Klue a couple of days ago,
- 43:41Speaker 2: our old trainer. I heard ankles a little sore. I'd
- 43:45Speaker 2: been running on it, so that was different than we
- 43:47Speaker 2: were doing. We were doing like inclined swats, squats where
- 43:50Speaker 2: you get on an incline and front, so that's probably different.
- 43:55Speaker 2: But I've not played pickleball. It's just not Honestly, it
- 43:57Speaker 2: feels like it's not worth it. I just went through
- 43:59Speaker 2: six months of that sucked. But you love playing the game.
- 44:03Speaker 2: I do, but it's not I don't love it so much.
- 44:05Speaker 2: I want to have another ankle surgery. Yeah, but I'm
- 44:07Speaker 2: gonna play and see how it goes. You know, I'll
- 44:09Speaker 2: be playing tournament segain in three months. I that's a
- 44:11Speaker 2: little bit why I'm so annoyed that I'm even wanting
- 44:13Speaker 2: because if I started, I'm going to be back into it.
- 44:15Speaker 2: It's going to do one tournament, yeah, next thing.
- 44:18Speaker 4: You know.
- 44:19Speaker 2: I am proud of myself from that tournament though, because
- 44:20Speaker 2: I tore it playing in a tournament and finished third
- 44:22Speaker 2: in that tournament. I didn't know I tore it, and
- 44:24Speaker 2: that was your first tournament, right, Yes, I did not know.
- 44:27Speaker 2: It'd be different if I knew I tore it, because
- 44:29Speaker 2: that's hardcore and that's awesome because you're playing through it
- 44:32Speaker 2: because I played through pain. But I just thought this
- 44:36Speaker 2: will be fine. But I did finish third in that
- 44:38Speaker 2: tournament where I tore my ankle.
- 44:40Speaker 1: Man, that was like me when I broke my foot
- 44:42Speaker 1: on the second base at the Cardinals Bush Stadium. I
- 44:46Speaker 1: played through it, Dude, I didn't know I was broken.
- 44:48Speaker 1: Then later that night, couldn't even walk on it, couldn't
- 44:51Speaker 1: put any pressure on it. Yeah, you were only competing though, dude.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Do you know how cool it is to tell people
- 44:58Speaker 1: that I broke my foot. That's why did want to say,
- 45:00Speaker 1: won't even competing. I took a second. I thought about
- 45:02Speaker 1: what I wanted to say.
- 45:02Speaker 2: Here.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Anytime any dads are together and we're talking about broken bones,
- 45:07Speaker 1: I'm like, dude, let me tell you my story. They're
- 45:10Speaker 1: like they're like Bush Bush picture at Bush Stadium, like
- 45:13Speaker 1: where the Cardinals lit, where the Cardinals flit, Saint Louis Cardinals.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Eddie said he almost died coming to the building the
- 45:21Speaker 2: other day. He tried to beat a train.
- 45:22Speaker 1: He tells you this, Mike, Oh yeah, Mike, what's our
- 45:24Speaker 1: Oh so he's told everybody this. Now, Mike, what's our rule?
- 45:27Speaker 1: What's our rule? When you know we can't be late?
- 45:28Speaker 2: Right? If there's a train, you take a picture of it.
- 45:30Speaker 1: I think that's okay, that's a cop out. Can you
- 45:33Speaker 1: imagine if I texted you a picture of a train, Hey, man, stuck.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Behind a train. For someone that grew up in a
- 45:37Speaker 2: town that trains held everything up for half an hour,
- 45:39Speaker 2: I would have actually understood that one.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Dude, how crazy? How long these trains are? Oh yeah,
- 45:45Speaker 1: but like I've been stuck behind a train for like
- 45:48Speaker 1: twenty minutes, and you're just like what like, it never ends.
- 45:53Speaker 2: You shouldn't try to beat a train. But here's the deal.
- 45:56Speaker 1: The bars weren't even down yet, so the bell was
- 46:00Speaker 1: ringing the bell. No, you don't go the bells? Did
- 46:04Speaker 1: you love both ways? And you didn't see it? I didn't.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I saw it coming. No, if you see it, you
- 46:08Speaker 1: can't go. Plenty of room, plenty of time. And then dude,
- 46:11Speaker 1: I looked behind me as soon as I crossed the
- 46:12Speaker 1: roilroad tracks and those bars like came down right behind me.
- 46:17Speaker 2: I'm glad you didn't die.
- 46:18Speaker 1: I do. I would have been twenty minutes later. That's
- 46:20Speaker 1: okay though, for a train, that's okay. One final thing.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Let's let's end on soccer. Eddie and I were in
- 46:26Speaker 1: the bathroom talking about the rules of soccer, which we
- 46:28Speaker 1: don't know and I don't. In the NBA, let's say
- 46:31Speaker 1: you leave a player back, you go to play offense.
- 46:34Speaker 1: Let's say you're playing defense, but you leave a player
- 46:36Speaker 1: back cherry picking.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Cherry picking right under the basket. Ye, he's just under there.
- 46:40Speaker 2: While you got four guys playing defense on five guys,
- 46:42Speaker 2: but you got one guy back. You get the rebounder,
- 46:44Speaker 2: you throw it to your cherry picker. Woo easy to
- 46:46Speaker 2: NBA doesn't go off sides?
- 46:50Speaker 1: I sing, No, you just choose to play defensively with
- 46:53Speaker 1: one less person.
- 46:54Speaker 2: Leave someone down there, you take the risk. Yeah, in soccer,
- 46:58Speaker 2: they don't let you do that. They call freaking off side.
- 47:00Speaker 2: So the flag. If you want to have somebody down there,
- 47:02Speaker 2: keep somebody down there.
- 47:03Speaker 1: How crazy is that guy's only job is to look
- 47:06Speaker 1: it for off lift that flag.
- 47:08Speaker 2: It's his only job. Yeah, they should allow cherry pick.
- 47:11Speaker 2: I've got two rules that I've thought about that I
- 47:14Speaker 2: would implement as an American that knows nothing about soccer
- 47:17Speaker 2: and will probably be stupid. Number One, we allow cherry picking.
- 47:20Speaker 2: That's it. Now you're gonna have one less guy on defense,
- 47:23Speaker 2: so the offense should take advantage of that risk it. Yeah,
- 47:26Speaker 2: so leave and if you don't like it, keep a
- 47:28Speaker 2: player back on defense to guard him. So we allow
- 47:30Speaker 2: cherry picking. Two instead of one ball, there's two. Now
- 47:36Speaker 2: it's like pinball. You know, when that other ball comes out,
- 47:38Speaker 2: you're like, it's too much, But which one do I hit?
- 47:43Speaker 1: But you're not let me finish because the field's so
- 47:47Speaker 1: big and they don't score enough, and a lot of
- 47:50Speaker 1: times they're like, kick it back to the guy behind them,
- 47:52Speaker 1: and they kick it back to the guy behind them
- 47:54Speaker 1: and k and then you're starting over to get to
- 47:56Speaker 1: spit four minutes watching you guys kick it back to
- 47:58Speaker 1: midfield again. So what are they doing with that of
- 48:01Speaker 1: the ball?
- 48:01Speaker 2: If there were two balls, now, only one of the
- 48:06Speaker 2: balls is the real ball, but they look exactly the same.
- 48:09Speaker 2: You know how when you watch the cup challenge in
- 48:10Speaker 2: a ball game and you got and you have to see.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Where the thing is under the cup, and you're like,
- 48:14Speaker 1: it's cup one, it's cup one.
- 48:16Speaker 2: Both balls come out and they show you which one
- 48:18Speaker 2: is the real ball. At first, this is the real woman.
- 48:20Speaker 2: They look exactly the same. Now the players can mix
- 48:22Speaker 2: them up with their feet all they want, but only
- 48:24Speaker 2: one of them is the real ball. So if you
- 48:26Speaker 2: can identify which one is the fake ball, that's great,
- 48:29Speaker 2: just play that one while somebody else. But if you
- 48:31Speaker 2: can't and they do the mix ups or you can't
- 48:34Speaker 2: watch it anymore, you don't know which ball is the
- 48:36Speaker 2: real ball. You're doing circus games in the middle of game.
- 48:39Speaker 2: Tell me that would be so fun. So do we
- 48:42Speaker 2: get two goalies? No, just one? Everything's the same all right,
- 48:45Speaker 2: you're trying to keep your eye on the real ball.
- 48:46Speaker 2: It's like that cup game where you trying to three car.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Moni even but once you figure out the ball the
- 48:51Speaker 1: real but you never really know, such as the fake one,
- 48:54Speaker 1: but you never really know.
- 48:56Speaker 2: You think you know. But if the team's really good
- 48:58Speaker 2: at switching it up, eighty percent of your team's probably
- 49:01Speaker 2: on the real ball. But it literally is like are
- 49:03Speaker 2: we sure? So? When is it revealed? When they kick?
- 49:07Speaker 2: If a ball goes in and it's the real one,
- 49:09Speaker 2: it's the real one. If there's a tracker on it,
- 49:11Speaker 2: like the light goes off on a back, like when
- 49:13Speaker 2: the shot clock expires or hockey, yeah, woo goal. If
- 49:17Speaker 2: one goes in and it's not nothing now it's only
- 49:20Speaker 2: one ball in play.
- 49:20Speaker 1: They're like, dang it, that's the fake one. Or they're like,
- 49:23Speaker 1: thank god, that's the fake one. Okay, that was thinking
- 49:25Speaker 1: the offense.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because the offense could also be confused on
- 49:29Speaker 2: which one these How fun would two bad two balls
- 49:33Speaker 2: be just for the last five minutes of the game
- 49:34Speaker 2: or an extra extra period? Oh, extra time? I like
- 49:38Speaker 2: that two balls.
- 49:40Speaker 1: That's cool too, because you're encouraging scoring at that point
- 49:42Speaker 1: like if it's a tight.
- 49:43Speaker 2: Game, like here we go, and the longer it goes
- 49:45Speaker 2: no ties, the longer it goes more balls, it's like pinball.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Like you said, they keep dropping balls down. Then it's
- 49:53Speaker 1: impossible to know which ones which. So now you're just
- 49:55Speaker 1: trying to block all the balls, and the announcer too,
- 49:57Speaker 1: kid like really playing.
- 49:58Speaker 2: To it's two ball times. Yes, it feels like hunger games,
- 50:04Speaker 2: So okay, this is what it would be then, because no,
- 50:06Speaker 2: I don't like ties, even in the group stage. So
- 50:08Speaker 2: they finish. But and the over extra time, no extra time.
- 50:13Speaker 2: It's like the time if they're injured or something. Yeah,
- 50:14Speaker 2: that's the extra whatever, the stoppage time, what whatever that
- 50:18Speaker 2: we'll call it overtime. For as Americans, every minute that
- 50:21Speaker 2: goes by, a new ball gets dropped. There are no ties,
- 50:26Speaker 2: so there could be like there could be seven balls
- 50:29Speaker 2: out there and only one of them is the real one.
- 50:31Speaker 2: But you know if the more balls, you don't even
- 50:32Speaker 2: know which one is the real one anymore. Real soccer
- 50:36Speaker 2: people are like, what's this good talking about? Tell me
- 50:38Speaker 2: that one to be fun. That's my banana soccer I create.
- 50:43Speaker 2: Do you have any new rules? Uh? Yeah, I would
- 50:45Speaker 2: get rid.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Of the the fact that the only ball, the ball
- 50:48Speaker 1: is the out of bounds, Like if the ball is
- 50:51Speaker 1: still touching the line, it's still inbounds. So what is
- 50:53Speaker 1: that rule? So really, that's that's the rule, that the
- 50:57Speaker 1: ball is the only thing that matters. The person can
- 50:59Speaker 1: step out of bounds. But okay, once the ball passes
- 51:02Speaker 1: the line, completely passes the line, then it's out.
- 51:04Speaker 2: That's the real rule. That's that's the real rule. What
- 51:06Speaker 2: would your rule be?
- 51:07Speaker 1: Just if the person, like football, you know, like if
- 51:10Speaker 1: the person steps out of bounds, turnover, That's what I think,
- 51:14Speaker 1: because it's so confusing and then sometimes like you have
- 51:17Speaker 1: to look for the whole ball to cross, Like.
- 51:19Speaker 2: That's too much.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Yeah, we're very American, and the field's already big enough,
- 51:22Speaker 1: like you said, it's huge. Maybe double the field, Oh okay,
- 51:28Speaker 1: and put four goals with two goalies and and a
- 51:33Speaker 1: hole in the middle that serves as a goal, a
- 51:36Speaker 1: ground hole that just opened the closes like a mini
- 51:38Speaker 1: golf hole like soccer golf. Yeah, that's exactly it. But
- 51:42Speaker 1: in the right in the middle half field.
- 51:45Speaker 2: Or you do a tall goal like MTV when they
- 51:47Speaker 2: would do those, you get more points for the MTV
- 51:49Speaker 2: basketball for the high goal. That's worth two if you
- 51:52Speaker 2: can get it up there. But it's much smaller. I
- 51:53Speaker 2: think you're onto some of them. Yeah, that's my that's
- 51:55Speaker 2: my banana ball soccer. That's it. Thank you guys for listening.
- 51:58Speaker 2: We hope you have a great weekend. And I don't know,
- 52:02Speaker 2: go USA. We don't play againuntil next week. We play
- 52:05Speaker 2: Bosnia Herzegovinya.
- 52:06Speaker 1: See so is that just Bosnia or is that no,
- 52:09Speaker 1: it's Bosnia Herzegovinyak.
- 52:11Speaker 2: And I'm not sure if that's one country or two together.
- 52:13Speaker 1: Okay, well that's kind of cool. That'd be like Eddie, Bobby,
- 52:17Speaker 1: let's just make a team because we're too small countries.
- 52:19Speaker 1: If we live next door, we just create one. Yeah yeah, Mike,
- 52:22Speaker 1: do you know what we play? Let me see if
- 52:25Speaker 1: I'm guessing. Wednesday? Wednesday at night?
- 52:27Speaker 2: Dang dude, what time?
- 52:29Speaker 3: Seven pm?
- 52:30Speaker 2: Central? Cool? I like seven nine o'clock was a little
- 52:32Speaker 2: too late. Yeah, good thing. The game didn't matter, all right,
- 52:35Speaker 2: So from all of us and all of our friends
- 52:36Speaker 2: in Turkaye, we hope you guys have a great weekend.
