Episode fifty, the big five ⁓ brother. The big Mike Singletary, some would say. ⁓ some would say ⁓ I knew that, obviously. I knew. Pull the curtain back real quick for the listeners, Matt. We just had a no. We Google search that. His jersey's right up behind me on my wall. We're looking at the greatest players to wear number fifty in the history of sports, and Mike Singletary popped up and then Matt turned around and goes, Wait a second. He's on my wall. Yeah. Turns out we got of all people, we have fifty framed, so Tells you this episode's gonna be a good one. ⁓ we'd like to be transparent here on Brody Pod. I was just telling Matt, I was like, we need to start recording the pre show because the the pre show is what you guys really wanted to see on the podcast. We do need ⁓ behind the Brody segment. Maybe a YouTube, maybe another YouTube video coming on. ⁓ so yeah, we are back from our weeklong hiatus. Actually, I guess for Matt it's a two week long hiatus. I was gonna say, dude, it's I don't I forgot what it's like to be on a podcast. Yeah, well it f it felt weird last week for me. I didn't have anything to edit or anything like that. I got a lot of time in my day for going on. So I think it's been has it been three weeks for me? ⁓ no, two weeks. Been two, yeah, two weeks. But it d it's it's felt longer. When you're doing these every week, it it feels longer when you miss a week. Yeah, I was gonna say I haven't talked about NFL yet, but we're on the third week right now. Yeah. And I missed the last two. Yeah. And there's been a there's been a lot of happening in the NFL. We're gonna get into what's happened around the NFL. I'm sure everyone's here. ⁓ if you're here for the Saints and Cowboys reactions, there's timestamps down in the description. You can feel free to skip ahead of that. But we will be talking about get into the show preview, we'll be talking about every game, not every game from the NFL, but the biggest storylines and headlines that we saw, best games that we want to talk about. Then we'll be getting into some week four previews for the NFL. Then we'll follow it up with some college football talk. Some AP rankings came out, so people are very upset about it. Some big matchups coming on this next week as well. There's a lot of upsets this last week too for week four. I one of the things I hate about college NFL is that the weeks just don't align. So it's like we're week five of the college football, but we're at week four of the NFL. Whatever. ⁓ then we're gonna be getting into some MLB postseason. It's starting this week, so we're gonna be doing a little bit of ⁓ our own version of the previews and predictions and what we wanna see. And then finally we're With that, we'll get into one final question. ⁓ goes along with the MLB. And then ⁓ we'll begin some other sports. Team USA had a great comeback, and there was also a UFC fight that had a cool storyline attached to it. With that, we get into the show, Matt. No burdies of week. So let's start off in the NFL. Do you do you have a special happy birthday you want to wish? I do. Today as we're recording this September twenty eighth, Monday. Happy birthday. My sweet prince Tyler Shuck and Spencer Rutler. Wait, they share the same birthday? They show the same birthday. I think I remember this vaguely last year. But it was like Spencer Rattler was the guy. And like I didn't know too much about Tyler Shuck at this point. And they might have like might have been swept under the rug 'cause he wasn't a big name at that point. But I I guess I didn't realize they Sure, the same birthday. Well, it makes sense. Last year the twenty eighth would have been on a Sunday. So yeah, I think Spencer Adler played on his birthday and also Tyler Shuck. Tyler Schuck was on the sideline for his birthday. Correct. So yeah. No, happy birthday. Happy also. Happy early birthday to my lovely, beloved co host. Thank you, Matt. Thank you. Yeah, I guess ⁓ my birthday is on Tuesday, so you're wishing me early happy birthday. By the time this episode comes out, my birthday will have passed. So Correct. But I I won't be the first to wish you happy birthday because our our lovely friend Hem thought today was your birthday. Yeah. Thank you, Hem. Thank you, Hem for the early birthday celebration. Would you rather be wishing someone a birth happy birthday early or late? I mean obviously you choose to do it on the day, but let's say you've like you missed it. Would you rather be like early and think it was the birthday early? Definitely early. Just like you're on their mind. Because yeah. So he would have texted you. They don't care. Who cares? Somebody reminded them, you know, I I reminded him in the the group chat that your birthday is tomorrow and he was kinda like upset about that, I guess. But like, you know, I wanna I always use ⁓ when your birthday actually is. Like I use ⁓ Facebook to remind me when birthdays are and then also like I just try when I make someone's contact, I put their birthday at my phone and then my calendar just reminds me as well. I went to your Twitter. Look it up. ⁓ so you use Twitter? Actually, the other day, 'cause I know you have it near Twitter. That's true. Yeah, happy birthday. I know it's September 'cause September's very young. Yeah. Well, I guess we can also be wishing ⁓ Birdie Pod a happy birthday as well. We did pass one year on the podcast. You weren't here two weeks ago, I think when it happened, but yeah, we were ⁓ we we did hit one year on the pod, so I'll kind of coincide it's birthday season in September. Yeah, that's should have been here. It's Obviously huge milestone. I can't doesn't feel like it's been a year, but No. Well listen, man. Here we are, dude. Yeah, we're we we made it many more years to come. So with that though, we could get into the NFL. I know I said we're gonna get NFL and we got distracted by birthdays. Sorry, not sorry. But we'll get into Matt, there was twelve one score games on Sunday. A lot of close games in the NFL. I didn't realize that, honestly. Yeah, I don't know if that's like the record, but that is ⁓ you like to see a lot of competition in the league and normally like when it's a blowout, you just don't watch the game anyway. So we've they're all close and you're like gonna watch there's also some games we're gonna talk about that weren't or that were not one score game, so ⁓ we will bring those up as well as needed, but we're not gonna talk about every game, just the games that we have notes for, starting off with Matt. Yes, sir Buffalo Bills twenty four Chargers sixteen. Mm-hmm. And ⁓ Josh, Josh, Josh Allen struggled a little bit in this game. He did indeed. What do you have? Two interceptions? He did. A lot of people were picking the Chargers to win this because they thought, you know, the Chargers, you know, backs against the wall. They don't want to be 0 3. This is a perfect game for them to come in and win. Especially like in the NFL, it's like you you just think the Chargers. And I almost thought too many people were on the Chargers, and then you've got to flip it back to the Bills. Yeah, I think. Obviously nobody expected the Chargers to start O and three. Right? They're probably one of the one of the last teams to you would expect to start O and three, but horrible play from starting quarterback, boyfriend of Menison Beer, the if man. The if man that he's been coined now, Justin Herbert. Wait, why is he called the if man? It's ⁓ because like whenever he comes up and like Like football discourse, they're like, ⁓ if only he had offensive line, if only he had more weapons, if only he had a defense, if only this and that, if only he had a competent head coach, if and if and if. But it's getting the point, like this is kinda what you get. Yeah. I love the ⁓ I love you have a good reference for the if. It's like if my grandma had will, she'd be a bicycle. Correct. At some point he's gotta do it, right? Yeah. And obviously to this point in the season, three games, ⁓ and three. Fifty nine percent completion percentage, three touchdowns, three interceptions. That ain't getting it done. He's got his offensive line kind of fully healthy. I know he lost Keenan Allen, but he's aging. He's still got lead. He's got Gadston, he's got ⁓ Manhampton. Correct. He's got weapons weapons, right? And I know the Bills are a good team, but Josh Allen obviously turned the ball over a lot and he still wasn't able to capitalize. Yeah, I saw some of the Josh Allen, like yes, he struggled with the interceptions, turned the ball over. Once again, Justin Herbert also like the quarterback play just wasn't the best, but Josh Allen did have, was it two rushing touchdowns in this game? Mm-hmm. He's like the first quarterback in the modern era to have two rushing touchdowns and three consecutive games. Yeah, he dude, he's like up there in the past like ten years. He's up there for like total rushing touchdowns. Yeah. Big body quarterback. It's almost like if Ben Rothesberger was mobile back in the day. It's almost if like Justin Herbert was mobile. Which is crazy because you think just Yeah, a lot of ifs going around. Tough one. Yeah, no, the Bills, ⁓ I think a lot of people expected the Chargers to come in and kind of, you know, shake things up, especially Jim Harbaugh was gonna rally the troops. Didn't really happen for him. Now the Chargers fall O and three. We're gonna get into ⁓ after we go through the games, we're gonna go through the O and three and three and O teams and give our predictions on, you know, who's gonna be the last defeated and undefeated team. Bills move to ⁓ are the Bills Bills are three and ⁓ right? Yeah, Bills are three and ⁓ So we'll get into a little bit of the predictions of who we think will be the last one standing. Speaking of last one standing, Matt, let's get into the next one here. This one was a blowout. Jags thirty five, Patriots six. ⁓ the biggest thing I saw that came out of this game is Trevor Lawrence, quarterback for the Jags. ⁓ He has a gambling addiction. I'm gonna go ahead and get ahead of it now. He took a knee on the one yard line with eight minutes left to go in the fourth quarter. You know, you might say like he was helping out the Bacial Tutin fantasy football owners, you know, getting getting him some get him a touchdown. ⁓ or you might have been saying he was trying to run out the clock. That's obviously not true because the Jags scored on the very next play with with Tutin and ⁓ they'd burned basically no time off the clock. So Trevor Lawrence had the under on rushing touchdowns. Listen, I'm I'm a a base old Tutin fantasy owner. So I'm not gonna be upset about this, but little questionable. Yeah. Obviously. But I mean at that at that point in the game, at that juncture. cares. Right. He could have scored. He's on the one yard line. I I don't see the need to take a knee, but it ran a little bit of time off the clock. He's not wrong completely. Yeah. We also found out who the ⁓ degenerate gamblers are, the ones that were mad about Trevor Lawrence not getting the rushing touchdown. What are you doing betting on a Jags game? That's that's insane. I find that crazy. But also ⁓ you mentioned you're a Tootin fantasy football owner. I am a Lawrence fantasy football owner. Mm So this one, ⁓ I was a little upset and I'm gonna call it out right now. We need to get we need to get Trevor Lawrence some help. I think he's been good enough this season. Yeah, he's actually actually playing really well. The Jags the Jags decided they're a good team. This was Tootin's first touchdown of the season, so I'm I'm happy about that. Was it his first one of the season? I did see ⁓ just talk about the Jags. I mean, ⁓ Liam Cohen has come around, turned that whole franchise around. I think he's tied with ⁓ Matt LaFleur for ⁓ most wins. in the first like twenty games as a head coach. I think he has like he's won fifteen of the first twenty games he's coached. My coach of the year last year, by the way. No, or I think it was our coach of the year. I think we both were Liam Cohen fans. Were you? ⁓ check the tape. I'm pretty sure I was somebody roll it back. I think ⁓ I it was either I was either Cohen or Ben Johnson. Okay. At least at least neither of us was the ⁓ Mike Vrabel. The adultroom Yeah. Which Mike Variable it's looking like a tough season for the Patriots so far. Apparently he needs a scandal to get People might be saying Drake May might be broken. He's been throwing up some meatball subs, which honestly, first of all, too, what's up with the meatball sub stuff going around? Dude, shout out Tom Brady. What happened with Tom Brady? He ⁓ who was it? He said that live on air. The meatball sub? Yes. I I don't know why we've compared it to ⁓ the meatballs. I it's like a whole meme going around right now. Anytime a quarterback throws the interception, it's like, ⁓ here's Dak Prescott, here's your meatball sub, how would you like it? It was ⁓ he was commentating the Chargers game and he said Herbert threw up a meatball sub. ⁓ yeah, he was commentating the the Bills Chargers 'cause he was talking about the Bills old stadium where he's like only lost three times in that stadium. Yeah. Listen, I gonna be honest, like Tom Brady hate the guy. As a player. As a player. I hate the gu you know, he wins too much. I want you know, he's the he's the goat. He's not my goat, but he's He's my goat. He's the goat. But ⁓ I he's I don't like him like you know, pretty ⁓ egotistical guy, whatever, as he has he should be, he can be, right? Being that guy. But last week in the Cowboys game The called one of ⁓ Dak's passes a piss missile out the sideline to C D on the across the hash, which was a piss missile, but he said that on air, I thought that was sick. Like he just doesn't care. He's saying whatever he's just having fun out there. And then the ⁓ shit when Jane Daniels like broke his elbow. Yeah. The commanders fans were saying, like, did we just get pissed and shit on by Tom Brady? Yes, you did get pissed and shit on. But ⁓ I mean yeah. Tough one there. Yeah, he's I'm starting to like him a little bit actually. He's funny in the booth. He's he's just he's just he's just let it fly. He is. I respect it, man. What are they gonna fire him? No, no, we thought not the contract money, but yeah. No, Jags are ⁓ Jags are Jaggin. You know who's not Jaggin? The Patriots. The schedule. ⁓ What do you mean? Mr. Drake Mr. Drake May. ⁓ yeah, 'cause the last season. The schedule. One touchdown, six interceptions in his first three games his season. You know I don't know if you saw what I wrote down, but do you know how how many interceptions he had last year? Not off the top of my head. He has six this year through three games. He had eight all of last season. That's ⁓ that's what I'm saying. Like, is Drake May broken? Like he's thrown some questionable pass. Even ⁓ Mike Vrabel, I think, came out and was like, I don't know what he was seeing out there. I don't know what he what he was throwing at. Yeah. I mean, to be fair Some people have said that he's i possibly injured. That's not gonna cause you to throw six picks in three games after this season he just had after he's a coveted he was just runner up for MVP. Yeah. But ⁓ I mean this could be chalked up to sophomore slump. I know he played a a few games his rookie season, but I would view this season as his actual sophomore season. No starting. So I guess he could shock it up to that, I guess, but horrendous start. And I know AJ Brown went down. Obviously he doesn't have Stefan Diggs, who is apparently still a a really good receiver. ⁓ but I don't think AJ Brown's gonna want to come back. Like I don't even know if that would have helped him at this point. Yeah. I know AJ Brown's still super good, obviously, but I'm not sure that's gonna keep him from making those same mistakes. Yeah. And ⁓ moving on to the next game here, probably Everyone had high expectations for the Patriots. No one had high expectations for the Browns. Correct. And this is where I'm gonna this is where the only thing I wrote down for the Browns. Browns beat the Panthers twenty one eighteen. This is the only thing I put down for the Browns game. The Browns now currently have a better record at two and one than the Dallas Cowboys Matt, the New Orleans Saints, the New England Patriots, and the Los Angeles Rams. That is disgusting. It's very disgusting. That that puts a bad taste in my mouth. I'm happy for Browns fans. Listen, Browns fans haven't had a lot to be happy about the last couple years. But now they have a winning record and they have a better record than those four teams. That's just ⁓ that's a tough look. And we're gonna get into the Cowboys and Saints, guys. Don't worry, it's coming. I think Svan Watson has left a lot of bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. This is why we miss you on the podcast, Matt. Okay. That being said, like first three games, this could just be an anomaly. A flash of the pants. That's probably what it is. Yes. Cowboys, Saints, Patriots, and Rams will probably end the season with a better record than Cleveland Browns. Don't say problem, man. You gotta say I'm gonna go ahead and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, New England Patriots, Los Angeles Rams are gonna have a better record. I'm gonna say all those teams except the Patriots will have a better record than the Browns. I don't know. I mean, Browns still have the Ravens and the Bengals in their division. Yeah, I mean they're they're next to Steelers. So they play yeah, they played the Steelers next Thursday night football. Then they played the Jets, Ravens, Titans, Steelers again, and they're at the Saints, then the Texans, then the then the Raiders. So I mean their schedule's Very doable to pull out a wing record. We'll see. Yeah, apparently the AFC North is a good division now. Yeah. Not the NFC's. I guess better than people expected. Yeah. All right. That's it. That's enough Brown's talk. Moving on to the next game here, Matt. Let's get into the biggest news that happened this week so far. Giants twelve, Titans seven. Giants get the win. But now The Giants have a real winner on their team. They turn the six upside down. It's a nine now. They're bringing in JJ McCarthy from the Vikings for a fifth round pick. What a bar, dude. Yeah. I've been ⁓ I've been seeing all the ⁓ was it the the video people have been making like hype videos for nine coming over and it's like Jackson Dart on the ground. It's yeah. It's ⁓ it's gonna be interesting to see here. Listen, we've seen quarterbacks Getting different who we've seen quarterbacks who haven't succeeded in their initial scenario or initial situation go to a different team, and then that kind of flips their career around. Right. Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold, etc. Geno Smith. Geno Smith. I mean, we get JJ McCarthy now. Maybe this is the even though I know Jackson Dart fucking dog. Let's go and say Jackson Gar, when he gets healthy and comes back, he will be the starter. Easily. But at this point, Jameis Winston or JJ McCarthy, then you have a real conversation on your hand. Listen, I love I love Jameis, man. What he's just a incredible vibe guy. But when it comes to on the field play, you're either getting two hundred and fifty yards and three touchdowns, or you're getting A hundred EDRs and six interceptions. Or you're getting twelve points. Correct. It's it's very ⁓ hot and cold with him. I did see someone that was talking about Jameis. ⁓ they were like, ⁓ Jackson Darts down. Jameis, you've been putting on a lot of work in the offseason, right? And it's Jameis in the World Cup and doing all his interviews and stuff going around the globe, and it's like, ⁓ this probably isn't probably isn't the best. Yeah. ⁓ it also I will mention I did watch a little bit of this Giants Titans game. There was a little bit of rain, but it was actually Disgusting. It was not a game that I would I had on the main TV. And ⁓ another thing here the JJ McCarthy, shout out to ⁓ our boy Chase Matt. I was doing podcast notes and I was asking him about it, and he brought up a good point to me. He said, ⁓ JJ JJ McCarthy's gonna be teaming up with the other Harbaugh now. And I was like, I totally forgot. You're right. At Michigan in 2023, he won a national championship with Jim Harbaugh. And now John Harbaugh, head coach of the Giants, probably called Jim up and said, Hey, what's up with ⁓ JJ McCarthy? And j I'm sure Jim's like, dude, he's a great quarterback, great guy, everything won national championship with him, get take everything well. And then so John probably went to the Giants and was like, Let's trade for him. And of course the Vikings, they've probably been trying to fill any type of trade for J. McCarthy that they could take. Yeah. Fifth round pick is probably definitely like the best that they could have got. Okay. ⁓ I would say so. But yeah, I just seem the harball the hardball connection's different I are you also watching this Eagles game. I am a little ⁓ yeah, I'm a little distracted right now. I know we're we're in podcast mode right now, but we also both have the game up. ⁓ Jalen Hurts going to the locker room. ⁓ no. I needed a ⁓ Jalen Hurts career game to win my fantasy fo ⁓ Andy Dalton has stepped in. Yeah, you're not getting that. You're getting the red rifle game. ⁓ great. Here we go. You get backup quarterbacks. Yeah, Case Keenum versus Andy Dalton. Listen. Also, this should be a talking point in the podcast at some point. The injuries that have piled up already through not even three weeks. Yeah, starting quarterbacks. Have been absurd. Not even literally. Right, yeah. Cause I mean, we're gonna get to that at some point, but running backs have gotten hurt as well. Yeah, maybe we let that list yeah, yeah. I do have ⁓ Devon A Chan on my fantasy football team. I actually have him on two teams. Matt, you have him in your dynasty league. ⁓ any any Devon A Chan ⁓ fantasy football owners out there, just know we feel your pain. We stand together, we stand strong. Luckily I drafted like five starting running backs of my fantasy football team, so I'm not in the worst position possible, but definitely is a blow. And he went down on like the first drive and torn ACL out for the season. So hopefully he's okay and can make it back. But yeah, no, JJ McCarthy on the Giants dude, I'm excited for Giants game now. Cam Scattaboo, JJ McCarthy in the same locker room. Sign me up for that. And Jameis Winston in there too. But since we're talking about injuries, Brian Burns towards ACL in that same game. ⁓ the Giants. So, you know, I think he had what, seventeen and a half sacks last season. Runner up for most sacks. Last year. ⁓ really tough blow for them. Especially if they're losing Dexter Lawrence in the offseason to the Bengals. And they lose Brian Burns. Do the Giants have their own substation problems? They might. We saw Cam Scatabo go down last year, Malik Neighbors. We've seen Jackson Dark go down. Brian Burns. Like it's they're starting to stack up a little bit. Yeah, I mean the Giants just literally can't catch a break man. Like Jess and Dart got hurt last year as well. Like it's Yeah, and I said they were a sneaky team. I said they were a sneaky team. ⁓ healthy look they look great, man. Yeah. Obviously, as you well know. Actually it's a first game the season. I'm sure everyone's seen the stat, but like the Cam Scadaboo Malik Neighbors, Jackson Dart have only been on the field for since they've been on the same team, it's like three percent of the offensive plays. It's like it's just fucking insane. Yeah. That's ⁓ those are your all your starters and they've only played three percent. That's like the core that they're building the office around. Which not very good core. Yeah. Just can't stay healthy. I guess maybe it's not. The best ab ability is it's ⁓ paper mache core. Yeah, best best ability is the availability. Hmm. We know that. ⁓ moving on to our next game here. Steelers beat the Bengals thirty twenty seven. Don't think there's much else we say about that. ⁓ Aaron Rodgers out dueled Joe Burrow, obviously he's a better quarterback. So just keeps losing. Just keep yeah, keeps letting that lead slip. I understand his team his defense gave up thirty, but you know what, dude? You're regarded as like a top three quarterback in the league. You're my dog, LSU gay. You got Jamar Chase, you got T Higgins. Score. Score the ball. Well, he did score. I that's four seven. Yeah, you gotta score more. Yeah, you gotta put up fifty a game. I mean yeah. Like at that point, screw the ball. Maybe a good point. What is that division at right now? Okay, the whole AFC North is two and one. It's fucking up in the air, dude. The whole AFC North is two and one. It is up in the air. We're ready for an AFC North gauntlet. Alright, moving on here to the next game, Matt. Commanders thirty-three, Seahawks thirty-one, the Marcus Mariota game takes over and takes down the defending Super Bowl champions in the in the Capitol, by the way. This game also was some crazy weather. ⁓ it looked like it was a little disgusting out there. But yeah, no, I didn't have much other than, you know, Commanders obviously without Jaden Daniels, without five. They did it for ⁓ Come back, bounce back. Probably a lot of people had the Seahawks in this game, and this just goes to show like Welcome to the NFL. It's a very competitive league. Commanders somehow sneak out a win here. So ⁓ I didn't have much else for this game. Matt, what'd you have? ⁓ I mean, obviously the the crazy injury of Leo Chenal after the season of the neck fracture got carted off, immediately went to the hospital. ⁓ he can move all of his ⁓ extremities, so luckily the worst did not happen, right? Like he'll hopefully be able to recover from this. I don't know if that means he's getting on the football field again. But that means he's gonna at least walk again. I I guess that's all that really matters at the end of the day. ⁓ but you know, shout out to Kane Madrano, who steps up, ⁓ former like just special teams guy, practice squad guy. ⁓ finally got some you know some some showtime ⁓ in the in NFL game. He gets pick six. So in his first game as a linebacker on the defense. On the defense, not just special teams, but on the defense. Steps up, pick six, good for him, helped him win the game. ⁓ Aleta obviously balled the fuck out. ⁓ so honestly, does that raise some question marks for ⁓ for Jaden Daniels? That Marcus Renato came in and got the win? Yeah. Man, like that's it. At the end of the day, like Marietta is just perennial good backup. Yeah, no, he matches well with J you always have a backup that matches what your short QB can do. Mark's Marietta, obviously a little bit older, but still was a very high draft pick, still has the running ability, has also matured in the league with the passing ability. ⁓ just a good backup quarterback to have. I did also see the commanders are expected to sign Austin Eckler back to the squad. So ⁓ previously had a stint with the commanders. Thought he was possibly retired, was doing fantasy football ⁓ announcement league league draft whatever ⁓ order for everything and then ⁓ that's when you know your career is kinda on the the down turn. Back burner, yeah. Correct. And we have to make yeah. Listen, I know Jay Niddles is better than Marty though. Don't get me wrong. But if he's gets injured every year I know this was kind a freak injury, his left guard stepped on his foot and he tries to catch himself and he dislocates the same arm again. He needs to learn how to fall. Injury there is a thing. I I always thought like injury prone just yours unlucky, but some guys are just genuinely He's too skinny and their their bodies are just not sturdy enough, I guess, to withstand the the taxing Physical nature of football. I guess he didn't even get hit by It might be Jane Daniels. Yeah. I know it's horrible for Commanders fans just reminiscent of RG3, who's also injury prone. Well, at least like it's just a dislocation. I I imagine if there's an injury that you could have that looks as gruesome as it did, a dislocation is the best possible ligaments or anything. Just pop the thing back in place. Yeah, I mean I think it's just the way he's landing. Like he needs to learn how to fall. Like w I go snowboarding a lot and one of the things they talk about in snowboarding is like you have to know how to fall. So when you fall on a snowboard, it's not stick your hands out to try and catch yourself. It's you just gotta like tuck your arms in and just take accept the accept the fall. Jane I guess he's like when he falls backwards he goes to put his arm back and that's when he's dislocating his elbow. Also s you gotta take the scenario into account. There's there's what, like three seconds left ish on the clock when they ⁓ that play and they could've kicked a field goal but they didn't. They decided to run a play. Then this freak thing happens and like Jaden Daniels in his head, he's like, you know, the clock's gonna run out. I gotta make some type of play. I gotta do what I can. I gotta do what I can to put points on the board. Tries to catch himself to I don't know, maybe evade some defenders and throw touchdowns, something. I don't know. But situation does matter. Yeah. And at the end of the day, he just gets hurt a lot. I did see that Jane Daniels will be traveling with the commanders. They're playing in London next week, so he will be traveling with them this upcoming week to London. They didn't ever put him on injury reserve, ⁓ so he's still expected to come back this season. But ⁓ yeah, we'll see what happens with Jay Daniels coming up. Going from probably a quarterback problem going on situation going in the commander's room to a quarterback that's actually balling out right now. Forty Niners quarterback Brock Purdy just seems like he's in control. Forty Niners get the win, 36 over the Cardinals, 30. Brock Purdy, I tell you what, people are starting to whisper MVP, you know, season possible. He's ⁓ had four touchdowns in this game. Just absolutely seeing it. I saw before this game every throw that he made was like an on target throw. There's no like wasted throws where he just throws it out of bounds or gets rid of the ball or, you know, just bad incompletion. Like Brock Purdy seems like he's seeing the game at a good clip right now. Now, Matt, you brought up a good point in our pre show talk. The competition that he's playing probably hasn't been the best. He obviously played the Rams in Australia, and we got our own thoughts on the Rams now, but ⁓ played the Dolphins, played the Cardinals, been putting up some good stats. Actually, I think he had almost a perfect passer rating last week against the Dolphins. Then this week is the Cardinals cons continues to keep balling. ⁓ is it time to start the Brock Purdy MVP conversation or is it some late? Let's see him play some ⁓ better competition before we we start donning that on him. I think it's time. You think it's time? I think so. You've been a Brock Purdy hater for a while. I've been ⁓ not a hater, I've been a let's pump the brakes kind of guy. But maybe the maybe it's time to step on the gas with Brock Purdy. He is He's saying Brock Purdy, go out there, do your fucking thing, and he's doing his thing, man. He's balling out. He's turning the back the clock on Mike Evans. Even though he got hurt in this game, but throwing touchdowns at Mike Evans, who's throwing the ball to ⁓ Jack Black after he cat I don't know if you saw that, but Was that Jack Black or was that Debo Samuel? No, after Mike Evans caught the touchdown, he threw it to Jack Black. ⁓ I thought you were talking about the Mike Evans pitch to Debo Samuel, who had the craziest like receiving stat line. Zero receptions, eighty yards, and a touchdown. Just the most yards ever without a reception in the NFL. Yeah. Most receiving yards. Yeah. Wild stat. Wild stat. But I do I I think it's time. I think we gotta at least at least in the conversation for sure. I mean, it's not like McCaffrey is going off every game. McCaffrey is still McCaffrey, but he's not like rushing for A hundred yards every game. It's only been three games, but it's so I did just pull up the ⁓ MVP odds. Probably way too early MVP odds. Leading the way, Josh Allen, two seventy. Fair. Second place, Brock Purdy, four fifty. Fair. Third place, Lamar Jackson, six hundred. No. No. Fourth place, Patrick Mahomes, seven fifty. Fifth place, Joe Burrow. Also no. They just love quarterbacks, I guess. Yeah, I mean the Kenneth Walker is a quarterback. I know. Kenneth Walker and Decker, and they've outplayed Mahomes in our direction. ⁓ you know what? Actually, I would say Mahomes has been one of the best quarterbacks in the league so far. Yeah, but Kenneth Walker's leading the league in rushing yards. Yeah, I mean Kenneth Walker opens up Patrick Mahomes, but he's been their entire offense, dude. I wouldn't say the entire offense. He's been a lot of the offense. He's been a lot of the offense, but I wouldn't say the like like Well obviously no, they have Mahomes, but like Mahomes hasn't been throwing four hundred yards a game. No, he hasn't had to, but I Because Kenneth Walker is rushing for six hundred yards in three games. Yeah, we we're gonna talk about the Chiefs dolphins games, but the the the Chiefs are the Chiefs this year. Shocker. Kelsey. Kelsey has turned back the clock too. Kelsey's turned back the clock in a Big way. But yeah, no, I think ⁓ I think I agree with you. I think it's between Josh Allen, Brock Purdy, Patrick Mahomes right for MVP. I think that's the three I would go with. Leading probably Josh Allen. He's a lot of what the Bills could do, and then I'd go Brock Purdy, and then I like Mahomes. Cause like you said, the Kenneth Walker does take away from Mahomes. Yeah. A little bit. But it's A lot. You're right, a lot. Yeah, it's st it's still Mahomes. But yeah, Brock Purdy once again. If Brock Purdy was I've heard the I've heard this take. If Brock Purdy was 6'5, we'd be saying, like, is this guy the best quarterback in the league every year? But he's not. He's like five, five ten, five eleven on a good day. That's the Drew Brees effect. Yeah. Drew Brees is someone that also suffered this. Overlooked. He can't overlook. Correct, he can't overlook. He can't overlook. Now I heard Brock Purdy talking about ⁓ He was on some podcast. He was talking about like how fast the NFL is and how sometimes you just can't see over the big I did see that six six linemen that are three hundred pounds. He's like, You just have to know where your receiver is in the window. Six sixty percent of the time you can see what is going on, forty percent you gotta trust your you just know the play. You gotta trust your decision making and how well you can read the defense, you just throw the ball. Yeah, that's something I'm gonna think you're right on the coverage. That's something I just respect about Purdy too, being the ⁓ being a s what what he lacks physically, he is a very cerebral quarterback. He is very smart and knows the game very well. It also listening to that podcast clip, it made me realize I could have never been a quarterback in the NFL. With how fast the game is and how tight the windows are, like you have to know what you're doing before. Like it's it's a very tough, tough job. You have to be an athletic fucking freak and be able to make up for it. Like Josh Allen, like Mahomes, like Lamar. Where you gotta know what the fuck you're doing before you do it. Like a Manning, like a Brady, like a Breeze. Like a Purdy. Like a Purdy. Yeah, throw that name in there. I was also watching something I was watching a video ⁓ this week. It was talking about did the twenty tens ruin our expectations for quarterbacks? And it was it's sort of going through the list of like Brady, ⁓ Breeze, Mahomes or not Ma I guess Mahomes was in the two thousand tens, but Manning. Technically. Both Mannings. Rogers. Rogers, ⁓ Phillips Phillip Rivers, Rothlisberger. Like it just seemed like there was a guy Ton Tony Romo. Like there were so many good quarterbacks all over the place. I had to sneak Tony Romo in there. I respect it. I I mean he was a good quarterback. Just what's the good dude? Underrated. Yeah, no, I think the ⁓ you know, let's maybe we'll let's see what happens with Purdy. ⁓ let's see. Who do the forty niners have next? ⁓ they have the Broncos. That's gonna be a good defensive test. They have the Seahawks, Commanders, Falcons, Raiders, Cowboys. So they have some competition coming up. We're gonna see if it was just a flash in the pan or if, you know, what what bird what Purdy could do these next couple weeks. ⁓ moving on to an the next game here, Matt. Vikings 23, Bucks 16. Now, if you're a fantasy football guy like myself and you stream defenses, I picked up the Vikings defense. They have a very solid defense. They don't need a bad pickup. They don't need they don't need any type of offense. Their defense is so good. They had a pick six in the game. ⁓ shut up, Brian Flores, dude. Yeah, Brian Brian Flores, like he he's a psychopath on defense. He's like Ben Johnson of the defense. Just calling whatever the fuck he wants and it works. Yeah. And we didn't see the game. We didn't talk about the game last week between the Ben Johnson and Brian Flores, Bears versus Vikings. That game was disgusting. I think it was like six or was it nine, three or something was the first Nine three, I believe. Yeah. Like he he is the Ben Johnson of D V I like that ⁓ I like that comparison. He is ⁓ absolute balling. ⁓ I didn't see JJ I did see ⁓ Justin Jefferson left the game with an ankle injury. I didn't know how serious it was. Apparently it wasn't that serious. I saw he was close to returning, but I guess they didn't want to rush it. Yeah. Now I did see why would you, I guess, if you're gonna win the game? Yeah. Now I did see the Baker Mayfield injury where he dislocated his thumb. I can't even imagine how bad that fucking hurt, dude. Yeah, that was at the end of the game. He like went to throw the ball, and as he did, his thumb hit I think it was like the defender's arm or helmet dislocated. Baker Mayfield it hurt so bad. He was on the ground. The announcers thought like he initially tore something in his leg. ⁓ Baker Mayfield, we all know, very strong quarterback. ⁓ one of those guys, high grit, wants to be out there if he can, dislocated your thumb. It looked like it was pointed in the opposite direction. That's a tough look. Yeah. ⁓ QN Jalen Daniels had to come in from Kansas, quarterback that they drafted. had to try and lead a like twenty eight second final drive for the Bucks and ⁓ was not successful. That's a tough setting to be thrown into, especially against Brian Flores and the Vikings defense who probably was like Sharks that smell blood in the water. They were like, ⁓ great. We have a new quarterback, a new rookie that now Jalen Daniels, I know from his time in Kansas, has the running ability, but once again, this is the NFL. You're gonna go get some great defenses. All these guys were the best from their college. They're all fast, faster than college. It was just a tough ass for him. So wasn't surprised. Sound like he has Mike Evans to throw the ball too. Yeah. Did have ⁓ did heave a hell marry at the end of regulation and ⁓ had his first interception. Welcome to the league, Jalen Daniels. I'm sure he'll get a better opportunity. That's a tough one to get thrown into. Maybe. But luckily, apparently the suspected out time for Baker is three weeks. Yeah, I mean he has a high pain threshold. Now it's on his throwing hand. I'm gonna be interested see how much that affects him moving forward. And I guess, yeah, if he's gonna be out three weeks, we will get to see Jalen Daniels Sabore. Yeah. I can't imagine you c coming back after three weeks after dislocating a your thumb on your throwing hand. Yeah, who was it ⁓ John Mateer last year for OU? Was he did he dislocate his thumb? He something happened to his thumb or on his throwing. It was something like that. And then like he came back too maybe too soon or something that he's Yeah he couldn't like grip the ball. People have actually OU fans have told me that they he still has not been like the same quarterback since that injury. Yeah, that's the f finger you need. Yep. To throw the ball, obviously. So We'll see what happens with Baker. ⁓ but not looking good in the slice. And sucks that it's three weeks, so you can't put them on IR if you haven't fantasy football. But all right, Matt, let's get to it. Let's just rip the band-aid off. This is what the people are here for. These next two games. Starting off here with my beloved Dallas Cowboys. They lose in Rio de Janeiro to the Ravens 34-31. I don't even need to talk about the the game here. I just want to talk about the final. Couple drives here. I don't want to talk about that we held Derrick Henry under 100 yards rushing. I don't want to talk about, you know, that for the most of this game we were kind of in it. Matt, what did I say to you before this game started? Probably don't probably don't recall. But I said I said, as long as I was like, I don't expect to win this game. But as long as we get off this this field with no injuries, I'll consider it a success. So by that logic. I had to consider a success. We didn't have any major injuries to any major superstars on the team. However, they got me, man. They baited me in. I thought we had a chance to win it. And then ⁓ just like in cowboy fashion, I mean, shout out to the people of Brazil. They got to really see a real Cowboys loss out there and and see the see the heartbreak. ⁓ let's just start off here with the final drive here. ⁓ Cowboys have a chance. It's like twenty it's thirty one to What was it, twenty eight? Cowboys are driving down the field. We get like a lucky like pass interference call on C D Lamb, get it to the one yard line, and then I don't know what that play call is that we're running out there. ⁓ we try and run some pass plays. Okay, that's cool. On the one yard line? On the yeah, I mean like have we not learned from what happened with the Seahawks before? Yeah, it's fun. And ⁓ yeah, and so then, you know, throw some meatball subs out there. Tough one. I mean, I don't know. I I think it was like the third down. I was like, I don't even know where Dak Prescott was throwing that ball to. But ⁓ we don't end up running any time off the clock. We leave, what was it, 30 something seconds left. We kick a field goal to a chip shot. That should have been the last play of regulation. That should have been the final. So then I'm thinking, okay, we tied it up 31-31. That's gonna happen. We're going to OT, right? This game, I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go get some food real quick. I jump in my truck and about that time I see the Ravens are driving. What the h what has happened? Why are they on the why are they on the ⁓ what was it forty yard line or something? Lining up a kick? Why do they have a ch why why was there time on the clock? Why was there one second? What happened? Well come to find out the Cowboys had kicked the ball out of bounds on the opening on the kickoff after their field goal, put the Ravens at like the thirty, they then hit Zay Flowers for a forty yard reception, call a timeout with Was it was it from the forty? I think when the ball goes out of bounds they put you to forty. I thought it was like thirty five. Maybe it's a thirty five. Regardless, we can talk about that in a little bit. 'Cause I don't want to talk about that, but continue. Well then I I was I was wondering how they didn't like they were able to call a timeout. I definitely thought time expired, but we get another Michigan situation here where I guess ⁓ There's a secret one second left on the clock. Tyler Loop steps up, hits the field goal, game over for the Cowboys. Heartbreaking fashion. And ⁓ once again, I didn't expect to win this game, but man, we were close. I thought, okay, we have a chance here. And ⁓ that just didn't didn't end up happening from a Cowboys. So unlucky stuff there. But ⁓ you know what? Got out of Brazil with no injuries. I've come to expect at this point from the Cowboys. I don't know what our defense is doing out there. ⁓ I don't even want to put this on Dak Prescott because thirty one points should win you a lot of football games. He's got the Joe Burrow effect where he's just gonna have to score more points than that. ⁓ I said it last podcast, we were promised a box of bad goods with this defense. Thought we really had a shot here with some of the offseason play that we did, and ⁓ just has not been any type of success with our defense so far. Yeah, I I did want to talk about the just the the placements on the kickoffs and stuff like that. Obviously the touchbacks aren't at the twenty five anymore, they're at like the forty, the thirty five or the forty, whatever it is. It's just it's too easy. Not only do like are there less yards, passing yards total in the season now, but like it's just it's too easy for a a team like the Ravens who are down three with you know, less than thirty seconds left. It's too easy for them to get in position. Just kick a field goal. Well, I think it was was a fifty-six yarder. Yeah, I mean it was I mean that that's automatic now nowadays for kickers. Well, I wouldn't say it was Tyler Lupus had some struggles, but I knew once he was lining up against the Cowboys. Someone brought up the ⁓ I think it was a I can't I thought it was a playoff game against the Packers way back in the day when Aaron Rodgers was there. Do you remember that where they it was kind of the same thing where it was some time left on the clock, they drive the field with a crazy pass play. They line it up with one second. I mean, someone put a video out there on TikTok. They look like the exact same replica games. The only difference is it's the Packers, not the Ravens. Like this is just Cowboys fashion. I've I've learned to accept it at this point. Yeah, I mean their best receiver, Zay Flowers, is wide open for a thirty yard completion. Obviously that can't happen. Yeah, and I mean Zay Flowers had eighty four yards, five receptions. I mean, just one of those I think forty yards of that eighty four yards was that one reception at the end of regulation. I thought for sure we were going to O T though. Yeah, it was a fifty six yard field goal. Yeah, I mean that's that's just a tough way to lose, man. Yeah. No, and it and we kept Derrick Henry under a hundred yards. Unfortunately had two touchdowns like right at the goal line. Dude just continues to turn back the clock. Yeah, that'll happen. I mean, I don't it was close, I guess. I don't know really what to say. Like obviously, even I thought I am kind of partially accomplished fan, so I thought the defense this year was going to be better than last year. And then you started out against the Giants in the first game, and then it was like arguably the worst. defensive game like ever or something like that. What sucks is we played the toughest Giants team out there. No one else will have to play the Giant the tough Giants team like we did. If we play the Giants now, it wouldn't even be a game. Now the Giants are going to end up with like six or seven wins on the season. They're gonna be like, how the fuck the Cowboys lose to that team. I'd have to be like, all right, they had everybody against us. Okay. We're gonna have to rain it back a little bit. But yeah, I mean the Giants I mean the Cowboys It's a tough look. I Dak Prescott, he played decent in this game. He was I I can't even bl I can't blame it on him, you know. That's kind of been just his MO. Ceea Lamb played pretty good. Him, Drew Brees, Joe Burrow, just bad defenses, man. Just giving up bullshit at the end of the game. Yeah. Right? It just seems like we can't ever get it. Yeah. Well, the only solid defense we've ever had was when ⁓ was it Dan Quinn was defense coordinator for the Cowboys. That was like the one season, other than that, it's been it's been pretty bad. Dak Prescott, I would say it was funny on that final drive. I I say final drive, the Cowboys final drive, not the Ravens final drive, looked actually coked out in Brazil. He ⁓ he had ever it he looked either super caffeinated or some other stuff going on. It was ⁓ Usually get it down there. Yeah, yeah. Usually you get it down there Brazil. But no, I obviously like the field conditions were the biggest storyline going into this game. And then ⁓ I mean it was an absolute thriller. I can't be mad. I've been I'm watching everywhere on Monday, dude. It everyone just reminds me the Cowboys lives. Like, yeah, Matt, we're gonna get into the Saints losing, but like no one has to deal with being a Cowboys fan of like I turn on first take this morning, Stephen A, Cowboys. I would I turn on get on Cowboys. I turn on I'd turn on Sports Center, Cowboy. I've opened I open any social media app, Cowboys losing and and then all the fans and the Ravens going Suey or something like that. Like Yeah. 'Cause Tyler Loop did the Yeah. Suey celebration after that. Even the Ravens, they celebrated like they had just won the Super Bowl against the Cowboys. Like I get it, man. The Ravens needed to win like that. They've been a the tail end of some heartbreakers themselves, but I just I was hoping we were gonna get some OT. Now once again, go let's go ahead and talk about if you want to talk about if if this game did go into overtime, I still think the Cowboys lose that. But at least it would have been prolonged. Dude, I d we I don't know what our overtime record is, but it's probably not good. I just like Doug. I think it's a good quarterback. Just unlucky, I guess. But let's see. I'm gonna do Dak's overtime record with the Cowboys. At least the game didn't end in a tie either. I mean, ⁓ Caleb Downs did have a good game. Yeah, Caleb Downs I mean to be fair. That's been the one that's been the bright spot on our defense. Other than last week, he got stepped on on the not a good spot to get stepped on. Not a spot to get defeated. Dak Prescott is three and one as a starter in overtime. That's what I'm saying. Like he That's just not too bad. Put the ball in his hands, he's good. When the ball's out of his hands, it's not his fault. That should be three, one and one, because didn't the the we're one year actually one year to this day as we're recording this podcast on the twenty eighth, the Cowboys tied with the Giants or tied with the Packers thirty thirty. Ooh, that is true. I did I did watch that game actually. Yeah, that was a Sunday night football game. But yeah, no, I mean just what's new with the Cowboys, man. ⁓ I mean this was a game on our schedule that I didn't have chalked up as a win, but then like being that close, like you really got to talk about I mean, like, the Ravens realistically shouldn't have even gotten a shot to kick the field goal at the end. We should have ran the clock out on our final drive. We should have done some run plays. Okay, they didn't get in. All right, well at least we can run the clock out and send this game to overtime. But that was just a questionable call from Schottenheimer. I don't know who's calling the offense, but Schottenheimer as the head coach has to step up and say, hey, We this needs to be the last possession any team has before we go into overtime. That just that's where I I think that's where my biggest gripe is with this game is like whether we win or lose, the w the fashion that we lost is just it's horrible. Like I said, dude, Browns have a better record than my Cowboys now. So shout out shout out the Browns. I'm sure they won't last, but All right, Matt. That's enough of the Cowboys game here. Let's get into the next game people want to talk about. If anyone doesn't know, Matt is the biggest Saints fan. And ⁓ I know Matt, you had a good segment idea to start this week of like we should start bringing on fans of teams that lose in heartbreaking fashion. And I think we were the perfect people to start this segment off. So I'll absolutely with that I'll give you there can't be two better people. Yeah. The two teams that lost in the worst way. Yeah. I think. I'll ⁓ let me give you the let me give you the final score. Raiders thirty five, Saints twenty seven, and then I'll pass it off to Matt. Matt, you have the floor. Listen, I I wanna be honest, I'm not too upset about this. And I know let me start off with this. The Saints were actually up going into the fourth quarter. For the first time this season, for the first time in a long time, the Saints were up and Shuck didn't have to do his his Shuck magic, his clutch magic and come back to, you know, get the score closer, win the game. Because he shit the bed, man. And that's not his that's not kinda what he's known. I know his this was like his thirteenth game, his thirteenth start in the league. But four turnovers in the fourth quarter the Saints had. And three of those were Tyler Shuck. An interception, two fumbles. Juwan Johnson had a fumble, even though he had two touchdowns. The Saints gave up nineteen unanswered points. I know, you know, Shuck still had a great game outside of losing it for us. He had three hundred total yards and four touchdowns. ⁓ I know everybody outside of the Saints fans are Probably annoyed and tired of hearing about the refs. The Saints complaining about the refs, but dude, it happened, man. It happened. I know everybody knows about the the first game, Saints, Lions, Jared Golf. Was it a fumble? Was it an incomplete pass? Kinda everybody the consensus is a fumble. Except to the refs on that particular day. And the same thing happened with Tyler Shuck. It was pretty much like the same exact scenario, man. But they caught a fumble against Shuck. ⁓ I mean I I'd be okay if both of those were considered fumbles. It's just the fact that Jared Goff, that was an incomplete pass, even though the ball went thirty yards behind him. ⁓ and they're the ruling, you know, Shuck's situation as a as a fumble. But credit to the Raiders, credit to Brock Bowers. It's a fucking dog. He is him. ⁓ I I said maybe everyone should get their meniscus trimmed. Apparently it turns you into the best fucking tight end the league has ever seen, man. Over a hundred yards, a touchdown, over ten catches, whatever. There were missed calls by the refs. This is like late in the fourth. Just a blatant missed holding call. ⁓ literally right in the ref's face, man. And that That completed pass put the Raiders at like the four yard line. Even though it shouldn't put him ten yards back, should have redone the the down. ⁓ there's a what I consider a weak roughing the pass recall. I understand that nowadays you can't land on the quarterback when you're sacking him. But like what else is he gonna do, man? He's it was straight up the middle, ⁓ Dylan Stutzman up the gut, sacking cousins. It's a literal textbook tackle. Like helmet in the chest plate, wrapping up his legs, landing on him. I guess you can't touch the quarterback. I don't know. Sure, roughing the passer. Let's put him fifteen yards closer. Let's get him automatic first down. Olive was great. He's still solidified as a top five receiver in the league. Falcons should have kept Kirkko Shane's. Three touchdowns in three games. Three touchdowns, nine touchdowns in three games, three touchdowns every single game he's played in this year. ⁓ it's just like it's like the refs were shooting the Saints, handing the gun to the Saints, and the Saints were shooting themselves in the foot. So like I don't like we're up give up nineteen straight points, man. Like Four turnovers in the fourth quarter is fucking absurd, man. Like I just can't be mad. I'm just disappointed. At the end of the day. Like obviously that's that's an easy fucking win. Yeah, like I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed. Correct. I'm not mad, I'm disappointed. Obviously I'm mad a little bit, but I'm more disappointed. Yeah. ⁓ obviously coming after win against the Ravens where we came back in the fourth quarter and suck looked like Debris. No, I mean this game. Not in this game, but he did until the fourth quarter. Yeah, I must say, yeah, he had four touchdowns in this game. It just the the interception and the fumbles, that just makes it a little tough to win games. Obviously, yeah, you have to win the turnover margin. His five fumbles in this season up to this point. Yeah, so just probably need to set him up at practice and have everyone trying to ball out of his hand. I think only two interceptions, nine. And not to mention ten total touchdowns, whatever. The Raiders should have also had a fumble in this game. And it was just like the most miraculous way the ball went back into the Raiders' hand. Off the off the shoulder pads of a Saints player, right back into the the Ra I did see that. I was like, all right, dude, I think the football gods are against you. If that if that's the way that ball is gonna bounce, like that's a tough look. And and you do bring up good point, ⁓ I don't think we're gonna see Fernando Mendoza start this year. Not if Kirk Cousins is balling out at this clip right now with the Raiders. And surprisingly the Raiders are looking like a good team. Now, once again, you are right. The Saints should have won this game. The Raiders should not have won this game. The fumbles and the turnovers, that's what ended up bringing the Raiders back into this. The nineteen unanswered points is tough. ⁓ I just wanna shout out also Mike Washington Jr. for the Raiders, had an absolute grown man run. In this game as well. I know Ash Jitsi's like the starter, but Mike Washington, he only had five had five carries. One of them was an absolute grown man carry. A duh what a great backup to have, dude. Yeah, what a great backup. He was one of my favorite guys coming out of college. Running back out of Arkansas. He's like two hundred and thirty pounds, dude. Yeah. He has like at the low six or on the low four fours. Just an absolute specimen of a guy. He threw an absolute stiff arm. That was just nasty. And I I I apologize it was against your saints back, but I understand. I I watched it happen. I was impressed. I was yelling at the screen, but I like, fuck, you got us. Yeah, I'm about to say if anyone I wish we should stream these games because it is in entertaining to watch us watch our teams and just like, why do we do this to ourselves? Constantly, week in and week out. If anyone doesn't know me and Matt have a bet that we run every year where the why we get a little competitive on the Saints and Cowboys. It's ⁓ you know, a little bet on whose team is gonna finish better recently. It's been the Cowboys, but I thought with Tyler Shuck, the Saints do have a real shot this year, and this bet's gonna be very competitive. I feel I still think the Saints are gonna win that bet, but dude. God. I mean we both have it's the worst like yeah it's it's heartbreaks and obviously two different ways. Last second heartbreak for y'all. And over the course of the last quarter, heartbreak for the Saints. It's like that you're up fucking nineteen points. Yeah. Let's run let's run the ball. I mean, I know Travis 8 Chan, Etienne, whatever you want to say. He was having the best game of his Saints career. And then polls a hammy. He's out for God knows how long. Yeah. That's tough. And ⁓ now we're stuck with thirty one year old Alvin Kamara and Kendray Miller. Kendray Miller and fucking me, probably. Me, probably. And then Talishok. He did have a great run in the game. He's still a very mobile guy, but I don't want to talk about He's he turned over the ball a lot. I'm not I'm not gonna lie, he turns over the ball a lot. I don't want to talk down on the Raiders, but I feel like the heartbreak is worse for you because this was a game I feel like a lot of people probably had the Saints winning versus like the Ravens, Cowboys. A lot of people probably had the Ravens winning that. Like we lost a game we were supposed to lose. Now that the way we lost it, that's true Cowboys fashion, but you guys lost a game. Probably should have won. And also like maybe we do need to start putting respect on on the Raiders. And we're gonna get into it a little bit here, is is about the battle of the three and O's and the O and Threes, but ⁓ yeah, the Raiders remain undefeated and like I said, I don't think we're gonna see Fernando Mendoza this year, if Kirk Cousin keeps bawling out that clip. Yeah, and and I'll say like ⁓ obviously I expected the Saints' first loss to come from either the Lions or the Ravens. I kinda expected them to lose the first two just because they're both really good teams, but we could have won the first one. Arguably should have won the first one against the the Lions. And then one against the Ravens. ⁓ and I would I I'd I would keep it that way. Like I would rather You know, win against the Ravens in that kind of fashion, like coming back on the fourth against a really good team and then kind of just lose because you ⁓ just had just played horribly in the fourth quarter. This loss against a not gonna say a bad team, but against a team you should have beat. I think that I think it's good. I think we've I think we've wrapped it up well for both of our teams. I think ⁓ Yeah. Pretty passion about it. So anyone, sorry if you had to list this rain about our teams, but ⁓ Ideally. Yeah. That's probably what that's probably what they wanted. They wouldn't be here if they if they won. ⁓ but okay, Matt, let's move on here. Speaking of the Raiders, three and ⁓ versus O and three. I have the teams here. So starting off, we're gonna do these we're gonna run through these teams, and then me and Matt are gonna say which team we think will be defeated the longest and which team will be undefeated the longest. So, Matt, starting off with the O and three teams, we have the Dolphins, Chargers, Texans, Titans and Buccaneers. Who do you think will be the last team to win a game on that list? We haven't said we haven't said who we we're picking yet, so this is new to both of us. It's just new. ⁓ I haven't looked ahead to each team's schedule, but I'm gonna say the Buccaneers. Ooh. Just how based on how bad they've looked with Baker Mayfield? And now they have a rookie in Jalen Daniels who's going to play for however long Baker's out. Like at least three weeks, I guess. Okay, that's it's not who I thought you were gonna pick. Let me look at who the Buccaneers have next on the schedule. They have the Packers, Cowboys, Steelers, Panthers, Falcons, Bears, Lions, Panthers, Chargers, Ravens, Saints, Falcon. Dude, actually that actually is not a bad pick. I that's it's a It's a hard schedule, man. Yeah. I would have said maybe the Falcons, but it seems like the Falcons have found some something with Michael Penix again. And I know how bad the Titans have been this season. My God, they've been fucking horrible on offense, especially. Yeah, I just think Obviously, the Ch ⁓ the Chargers and Texans I don't think are as bad as their schedule says they are. The Dolphins are expected to be that bad. I think they could get a win. I don't know who their schedule is, obviously. I haven't looked it up, but Yeah, so I was in between two teams here. The Bucks were not either of the teams, I thought. 'Cause I I haven't seen enough Jalen D Jalen Daniels to know anything about whether this guy can ball or not. But I I do like that pick. I was in between the Chargers and the Dolphins. Now everyone's talked about the Chargers having a gauntlet they have to run through for the next like nine weeks. That's true. They don't they don't have a breather, but they're not bad though. I'm about to say the Chargers have all their starters. They played the Bills close. Like every game that they've been in Yeah, they lost to the Raiders. Raiders are undefeated. We're see we're gonna find out what the Ravens are made of this next week. ⁓ they did lose to the Cardinals. ⁓ they actually almost lost to all three of these teams by the same score. So they lost the first two twenty six to fourteen, and then they lost the game to the Bills twenty four to sixteen. So it's been been very close. I think the I think the c I think the Chargers are gonna win. I'm gonna say the Dolphins. Losing their only the Ferrari of the trailer park, that is the Miami Dolphins and Devon Achin. Like they don't have anybody now. And that hurts me to say 'cause they do have my beloved Texas Tech Red Raider Jacob Rodriguez on the team. But ⁓ I saw that maybe they should put him at running back. I don't know if you saw that that return after that interception he got. He's kinda shifty. I d I actually don't know if I did see the I didn't wa after Devon H went down, I was so upset that my face football team was done that I I turned the game off. But I think that's the obvious pick though. Like Yeah. I don't see the Dolphins winning. But I don't know if the Jets are gonna be as bad as we're thinking. And I I just don't know Malik Willis, ⁓ obviously like the backup running backs coming in. I just don't think that I think the Chargers can sneak out a win before. And obviously, like the Titans. I think the Titans are just gonna have some weird win where they get it. The Texans, I don't believe, are a real O and three team. Yeah, Chowdh actually has not been that bad this year. Yeah, it's like Point out the imposter on this list, it's the Texans. The Texans aren't the O and three team. They've been putting up points. Also, the Texans have, I think, started O and three. I think they started O and three last season as well. I saw the last playoffs. Yeah, the last two teams who start O and three and make the playoffs were the Texans. It's actually yeah. So once a team moves though. I think this I think the statistic is like any team that starts O and three, they have like a four percent chance of making the playoffs. Versus if you start three and ⁓ you have a seventy five percent chance to make the playoffs. Yeah. So so Matt, that moves me to my next one here. There is an asterisk next to one of these because the Eagles are currently playing the Bears and the Eagles are two and ⁓ so we don't know if they're three and ⁓ yet. ⁓ currently down. They're currently down, so they might not be three and ⁓ we'll see. So we'll take them off this list, but Out of the three and ⁓ teams, you have the Chiefs, Vikings, Bills, Forty Niners, and Raiders. Which one of those teams will be the last undefeated team? ⁓ once again, I haven't looked ahead on their schedules for any of these teams. Immediately it's between the Chiefs and the Niners. Okay. ⁓ I'm a good Chiefs. I like the Chiefs fix. Based off obviously we talked about two potential top five to ten MVP candidates in Mahomes and Kenneth Walker. Okay. Even though the even though the Niners also have a really good quarterback and a really good running back. But Chiefs defense have has been playing I think e exceptionally well this year. I like to start I like the Chiefs pick be out of those out of those teams because they don't play the Bills until week eleven. Out of all the other teams, I believe it's only the forty niners don't play the Bills at all. And they don't play the Chiefs until like week fourteen. So for that I'm going with the forty niners and Brock Purdy balling out right now. I think we saw last year the forty niners had nobody and ended up having a winning season. ⁓ well now they got Christian McCaffrey, Brock Purdy, George Kill's back. Mike Evans, you know, in and out, but George Gill is back back. Yeah. But I mean like and the defense is still healthy enough. It's not like last year where it was just depleted resources all around. Like I I like the forty niners. ⁓ obvious I think obviously the pick would be like the take the Bills, but I just think the Bills are gonna trip up somewhere. Like next week the Bills have the Patriots, Rams, Raiders, Ravens, Vikings, Jets, Dolphins, Chiefs. Like it's it is kind of a tougher you know, schedule they have coming up. The Chiefs have the Raiders, Chargers, Seahawks, Broncos. I think one of those teams they could see possibly getting tripped up. Yeah, stuff as well. And the forty nine. Yeah. Mahomes and ⁓ Purdy haven't had a bad game like Josh Allen just had. Yeah. Up to this point. So I will say the the forty niners do have their real test next week. They are gonna be playing the Broncos, which we didn't talk about the they don't look that good. We skipped over the Broncos. We didn't start we skipped over the Broncos Rams game. ⁓ I would just go ahead and say Broncos had no business winning that game. They lucked out that Matthew Stafford just kind of imploded in the last couple drives for the Rams, but ⁓ Rams should have definitely won that game. Yeah. Last interference it wasn't called. Yeah. And it looks like the Bears just scored against the Eagles might end up losing this game. We'll see. I asked I I did see Andrew Whitworth on Twitter was saying that. Sean Payton finally got his pass interference call on that the Broncos Rams. ⁓ well, I saw I saw Sean McVay came out and said that they weren't a victim of the ⁓ pass interference. Yeah. I think he was taking a jab at the Saints fans, but I think he was. Don't want to get too much on either. All right, Matt, let's move on to the next ⁓ next segment here. It's the top games of week five for the NFL. And ⁓ I'll just run through ⁓ here. Just these are games that I thought were just interesting. If you if you have anything for ⁓ feel free to stop me. But starting off with the game that's gonna be in London, eight AM on Sunday morning, Colts at the Commanders. It's kind of a disgusting game. I'm sorry to the people of London that have to watch that that football game, but normally the Colts they make it fun when they go overseas. So we'll we'll probably see a fun Marcus Mariota, Daniel Jones game here. Next one here, my top game. Cowboys at the Texans on noon on Sunday. I'm calling this the Battle of Texas. This is this is for Bragg and Rights in this in the great state of Texas. It's going to be at in Houston, so we'll get to see what the Cowboys, you know, playing against once again. We're going to be playing a great defense in the Texans. We're going to get to see how well our offense can perform, how well we bounce back after this Ravens game. But ⁓ Yeah, but don't have too high expectations for it. Then get into the Jaguars at the Bengals at noon. This is a college football playoff rematch here between Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow, Matt. Mm-hmm. Your LSU Tigers. It's going to be 43 to 41, dude. Another shootout here. Could be. Another one here, Rams at the Eagles at noon. The noon slate's kind of loaded up. I think th we're starting to get some good matchups this one. I I d you know, the Rams have some question marks. The Eagles also have some question marks. I think this is just gonna be a good good game. We've seen these we've seen these teams in the NFC playoffs a couple times. ⁓ just some it's gonna be interesting a little matchup here. Moving on here. This is probably gonna be America's game of the week here. Right here. Chiefs at the Raiders. This is Battle of the Three and O's. This is where I wasn't too ha I don't know if I wanna take the Chiefs or the Raiders and our who's gonna be undefeated last because Dude, this is a gauntlet right here. Kirk's balling out. Patrick Mahomes is balling out. We're going to get to see who's the real 3 0 team here and who's the imposter. Moving on to the other afternoon slate game here. The Broncos at the 49ers. Now, this is why I said the 49ers is going to be the real test here against Broncos, playing against a great defense of the Broncos. It's going be a battle of the defenses here, but ⁓ we'll get to see. Broncos are probably going to roll out some interesting coverages against Brock Party trying to mess. Trip them up a little bit. We'll see what is up happening there. And then finishing off, Matt, here, Falcons at the Saints Monday night football. Feels like the Falcons found something last week against the Green Bay Packers. We didn't talk about it, but Michael Penix is back as the starter for the Falcons. Kind been, you know, they rolled the Packers pretty well. Seems like they might be on the right trajectory to get things turned around. Saints gonna be obviously at home. The stadium's gonna be loud. Mercedes-Benz gonna be booming. You get to see whether these Saints can bounce back against a division rival in the Falcons. I mean Caesars. ⁓ is it the Caesars now? Has it probably been the Caesars for a while, yeah. Yeah. I forgot they they didn't change the name. We can talk about Bijan over Shamir Gibbs, but obviously both have been playing f out of their minds. Yeah. So far. Fantasy football segment real quick. If you've drafted, if you had one or two and you were in between like, ⁓ I don't know which running back to take, Jameer Gibbs or B. John Robinson, good news. Flip flip a coin, buddy. Good news, both of ⁓ are just exceptional. Flip a coin, it worked out for you. Both of them are supercars and you got one of ⁓ Bichon had thirty five this last week and Gibbs had forty one, so. Yeah. Just yeah. You won either way, probably. Yeah. You're probably winning your league or undefeated. But this is the Saints only primetime game this season, so ⁓ is it? We'll be recording the podcast next week whenever this game's going on, so that will be live reaction. I just I just said it's so fun to watch Matt watch a Saints game. So you guys are gonna get to see next week Matt watching a Saints game. Watch me watch Drake of London have forty touchdowns. Michael Penix just absolutely lighting up the defense. All right, Matt, let's take a break and ⁓ we're gonna come back and talk about some college football. All right, we're back for some college football here. Starting off with the AP top twenty-five. I'll have it up on the screen here, but ⁓ just the biggest movers on this list that I saw. Florida moving up to eight after taking down Old Miss, Old Miss dropping to nine, Oregon all the way up at 15 after taking down USC, and then Oklahoma State. Hold the applause, has entered the chat, moving into nineteen on the list now. They took down West Virginia this last week. ⁓ actually was watching that game. But then also they had beaten Oregon a couple weeks ago. So I think the committee's finally given Oklahoma State some respect. It ⁓ yeah, I think I said Oklahoma State was like a dark horse in the Big Twelve. They weren't really ranked after losing to Tulsa. I was kind of worried about ⁓ and now they're kind of fouling back. So shout out to all the Oklahoma State people listening to the podcast. Shout out to Drew Masterbaker. It's a Drew Miss Maker and Eric. A former Brody of mine, by the way. Yeah, couple couple time Brody of the week. Played at UNT. Now balling out of USC. Seems like they finally got things on the right track. But week four mat, I'm gonna count it as the week of upsets, man. There were so many ranked matchups this week. And ⁓ we saw a couple couple major upsets. I was the Texas Tennessee game was closed. Tennessee kind of just dropped the ball in the last drive as well. But pun intended. But some of the top upsets from the ⁓ top twenty-five was ⁓ Wisconsin taking down number thirteen Penn State. Pretty big upset there. Wake force taking down number sixteen Louisville. Oregon taking down number twelve USC. I mentioned that in the top twenty five. Number twenty four, Mississippi State taking down number nineteen, Missouri, which we haven't talked much about Mississippi State. And if if they weren't named Mississippi State, they might be ranked higher in the top twenty five. I've heard they've ⁓ I haven't really watched too much of the Mississippi ball this year, but I've heard they've they've got a real quarterback going on down there in Starksville, so looking good for ⁓ the Bulldogs. Yeah, Camario Taylor. Yeah, falling out. Four fourteen touchdowns passing to two interceptions. Yeah. What a arguably has the best arm in college football. No. I mean, right up there with Trinidad Shameless, who struggled against Florida. Which ⁓ that was my next one here. Number twenty one, Florida taken down. Number four, Old Miss. ⁓ what is saying, man? Fifty-two to twenty-eight, by the way. Yeah. Old Miss might have been ⁓ celebrated too hard after the Lane Kiffin win last week. And ⁓ I think Florida mighty time put some respect on their names as well. Jaden Baugh. Let's talk about Talk about Jaden Ball real quick, buddy. Six hundred yards and eleven rushing touchdowns in the first three games. Yeah, Florida might have been slipped on a little bit. The best running back in college football. Probably Heisman front runner right now for me. Yeah, I think could have had another one too and ⁓ wasn't able to get it. I was gonna look up here 'cause I know Florida and Texas are gonna be playing at some point. ⁓ actually Texas is on by this week. Texas ol ⁓ OU is gonna be a good matchup. But have you seen the gauntlet that Texas is about to run? Yeah, it's gonna be Tauffman. So they're playing OU next, which that one's just gonna be a heated rivalry game. The Red River rivalry. Make sure I say that right this year. I think I said Red Rival rivalry last year. Red Rivel. Red River. Might be the easiest winning HOU they've had in recent years. I don't dude, I think I think everyone's right OU off. I think that's exactly what OU comes in and makes this an actual game. John Materian ain't making it a game, brother. And then they play number eight, Florida, number nine, Old Miss, number sixteen Mississippi State, number twenty five Missouri. Number eleven LSU. Tough And then they play Arkansas, might be the first released. And then they finish off at AM this year. Okay. That's fine. My God, what a f gauntlet homes. Yeah, they're they're I you know what? This is something I I'm not a Texas fan. I'm a Texas tech guy, right? But I respect teams going out there and playing other ranked opponents. I once again, I guess being an SEC, like you're just gonna play more ranked opponents because I think there's like out of the twenty five ranked teams, I think ten of ⁓ or something are SEC. So there's more of a chance to play it. I was a little upset like they didn't have to play Ohio State, dude. Yeah, they didn't have to play Ohio State. I I respect teams that go out there and make the the matchups and I'm glad to see like when Tennessee played Texas, they only fell two spots. You know, you don't lose as much. It seems like the committees are being a little more forgiving for if you go play a high ranked matchup, like they're not going to punish you super a lot for it. So I mean This isn't playoff committee, but we'll see when those rankings come out. Yeah. And I mean if it'd be in twelve teams too, you just don't get penalized as much either. Fair. But what a schedule, man. We'll see. Yeah. Yeah. They're gonna it's gonna be fun watching Texas. We're gonna see how long they get to hold that number one next to their their name. ⁓ we'll if they go undefeated, man, they would definitely be that'll be like one of the toughest runs. But ⁓ and then moving on here, another upset that happened. Matt, you had this upside down. Number seventeen, Iowa taking down Michigan. Number eighteen, Michigan, twenty to nineteen, last second touchdown. Michigan finally gets the taste of their own medicine for what they did to Western Michigan. I think this was I think Iowa's entire fan base in their social media was like, Western Michigan, this was free you. Good. Good. That's what that's what Michigan deserved. Absolutely. I can f I can probably stop hate watching Michigan now. Yeah, they should have two losses. Yeah. And now that yeah, I mean they're outside the top twenty five now. Easily as they should be there. I I was mad that Bryce Underwood flip flopped from LSU to to Michigan after that lucrative N N A L deal. I'm not too mad about it anymore. He doesn't look that good. Yeah, you guys think Sam Levitt was the better out of the two. ⁓ another quarterback issue I just wanna talk about real quick, the hit on Dante Moore, did you see that one from USC, the dirty hit? I don't know if it was dirty or not. I mean he was sliding. That might've been one of the dirtiest hits I've ever seen. Yeah, but I mean like with the new age and these quarterback. What it was it was it was pretty late. It seemed like it was a set in the tone hit and that's just ⁓ uncalled for in the sport. Like Dante Moore was I think they say he was unconscious on the ground for like eight minutes or something. They had to be stretchered off the field. Like that's not you don't ever want to see that in the video football. Not only does that mess up like Oregon and Dante Moore's feature in Oregon, but like he negated entering the draft this last draft cycle. And he chose to go to Oregon for another year. And that was all obviously now that's a fucking life changing decision because who knows what's gonna happen after that type of hit. They tech is he gonna be the same like person? Not even not even in football, but like just outside of football as a human being. Like that was a horrendous hit, dude. I hope he's okay 'cause that and it looked I wasn't watching that. I was watching the ⁓ I was watching the other What was the other big matchup going on at that time? There's two night games. There was a bunch of r there were so many ranked matchups. I don't even have a bunch of It's one of the best weeks of college football. It was almost like it was too much, too many ranked matchups. I couldn't keep up with all of them. But yeah, no, ⁓ if you're organ, dude, having Dylan Royola come in as your backup quarterback, that's probably the best backup quarterback you could have. Like he was expecting to sit for a year at Oregon, then come in. And then he came in and lit up US. It was the biggest like like Here's your karma. Dylan Royola is gonna come light you up real quick. It was like ⁓ taking Jalen Hirch out and putting him to a yeah, like almost like you know, you take out your starter and here you go. He's another starter that was balling out Nebraska last year. So I mean, Oregon's looking like you're in a good situation right now. But I think at the end of the day of the show's like if you're good enough to to go in the first round. Go in the first round. Go in the first round, dude. Because this just shows you. I'm sure he got a huge N N I L deal, but at the end of the day, he And not be able to speak English anymore. I just hope he's okay. That's ⁓ that was a violent. But ⁓ so moving on here to week five. Not as good of a slate as what we just have week four, but still pretty good. I got the top three like ranked rank ranked on ranked matchups here. Starting off eleven AM, number seven Alabama taking on Mississippi State, number fifteen Mississippi State in Starksville. We're gonna get to see what Mississippi State's all about. All right. Alabama, I don't think they're the Alabama that we've seen in the past. But I mean, there's still Alabama. Mississippi State's gonna have to do something against them there. So especially at home coming in, you know, we're gonna be I this will be the one where I get to see Mississippi State and actually get to watch it for the first time this year. ⁓ all the way through. Moving on to the afternoon slate here, two thirty PM. Number five, Ohio State taking on number fourteen, Iowa. We're gonna see what Iowa's all made about here. At Iowa College game day is gonna be there. It's gonna be heated. We're gonna Pat McAfee give the guy two kicks at the field goal. For eight million dollars. For for eight million dollars. And ⁓ we'll get to see what the ⁓ what the what the cyclones are all about. No not cycl not cyclones. The Hawkeyes. Iowa State's the cyclone. I'm in the big twelve matchup right now. Jeremiah Smith might go for three hundred yards. I don't know, man. I was they chose to promise, right? You know, we're gonna Jeremiah Smith might go number one overall. Let's we're we're gonna paint we're we're trying to we're trying to build the game up, Matt. I always got a chance here. They do have a chance, but dude, Jeremiah Smith is that guy. I didn't see Jeremiah Smith is gonna break every record this year. God is he's on the rail, dude. Yeah. And then the other two thirty matchup here, number eight, Florida at number twenty five, Missouri. I don't know if that one's gonna be as good. I th I think Florida might be the real deal. We'll get to find out in this game, so gonna be an interesting one there. Yeah, I mean if Jaden Ball keeps running the ball like he does, it's Florida's gonna a really tough team to beat, man. Yeah, Missouri also runs the ball, so maybe it's gonna be a old school football matchup here. They say Jordan or Jaden. You said I think you said Jordan Ball. Jaden Ball. Jaden Ball. I don't want people coming after me. That the everyone th they won't come after you. You're fine, man. People hate me. No, they don't hate you. They they actually love you. You're in a safe place here, Matt. Jaden Ball, you're always welcome on the get ⁓ get on. All right. Moving on here, Matt. Let's shift gears to some playoff baseball. I can finally start keeping up with baseball again. My Texas Rangers, our Texas Rangers is out of it. ⁓ we don't have to worry about it anymore. The Astros are gonna be taking on the World ⁓ not the world series, gonna be taking on the playoffs in our spot. And ⁓ yeah, we got some good matchups here, starting off with the wild card. It starts on Tuesday and so this podcast will drop on Wednesday, but the wild cards will be going on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. And ⁓ we're just gonna run through of some quick matchups here. Matt, I saw you actually had some stats for the playoff baseball. I did. ⁓ Regardless of who made it in the the Rangers Astros division, it would have been the worst record to ever make the playoffs. And the Astros were lucky enough to to be that team. So they finished eighty one and eighty one. That is the worst record of a team to make the the postseason in MLB history. So congratulations. I guess maybe it's lucky that the Rangers didn't make it because they would have been known as the worst team to ever make the playoffs. Yeah, and I did see the Rangers, ⁓ the last ten seasons, they've missed the playoffs the first six, won the World Series, and then they've missed the playoffs since. Yeah. I mean it's it's World Series are bust for the Rangers. It that World Series one was like that is an anomaly one in a million. Yeah. I mean, they were just out of their fucking minds. But also speaking of somebody who's out of their mind, Jacob Mizorowski in his first full season as a starting pitcher. He was first in all of the MLB in ERA at one point eight, first in strikeouts at two hundred and fifty two, first in sh in K per nine, twelve point nine eight, first in strikeout percentage at thirty seven point nine percent, at his second all time with at least one hundred and sixty innings pitched. He was first in whip at eight, which is walk in hits per innings pitched, and he was first in Banner average against at point one five seven. That is first all time, with at least one hundred and sixty innings pitched. So it's safe to say that Jacob Mizarowski had one of the best. Starting pitcher seasons of all time. And not to mention most fastballs over a hundred miles an hour by starting pitcher. I mean, it wasn't even close. No. I mean ⁓ Brody of the Week, Jacob Mizarrowski. True. Front of the helpful helpful friend feature. Cause he likes Pokemon. I like Pokemon. Come on. Go on. Let's do a let's do a collab, buddy. Come on, Jacob. Come pitch at us. I might Not hit anything off of you, but I it'd be fun. Yeah. See how many pitches we could take before he's like either I gotta go or we we make contact with one. He's gonna throw out his arm before I touch the ball. But I mean honestly like saying he's winning the Cy Young. Correct. At least in the A L. The N L. I look this up too. I I always get confused on the American League and the National League. I took a I took a Campbell. I made sure to put on the yeah, it's fifty-fifty on which division. I'm a casual baseball guy. Well listen, dude. I'm casual until October baseball starts. Then I get really into it. And I'll tell you what, dude, I kinda like some of these ⁓ wildcard matchups we have here. So starting off here in the American League, we have the White Sox ticket on the Astros and the winner of that will play the Cleveland Guardians. Omar Burrow of the Week Morataka, Murakawi. Morakami. Might be the easiest team to the White Sox. What a guy, dude. I don't know if you saw the did you see the clip of him? Yeah, I saw the clip you sent me. Are you celebrating? Yes, dude. What a lovable guy and what a dog he is in his first season. I'll tell you right now, if you're if you're just not getting into the playoff baseball and you need a team to group for your team to make elect mine with the Rangers, The White Sox I'm kinda rooting for a little bit. Yeah, they're a fun team, man. They're so young. They're they're like the Cinderella run going on right now. They just went through like one of the worst what'd you say? You had a pause moment? Yeah. I'll see that I'll see that in the editing. I had a pause moment. But ⁓ yeah, no, I especially like going against the Astros. Everyone knows the Astros and their their scandal that they had a couple years ago still tainted World Series, but ⁓ yeah, I think I think I'm easily rooting for the White Sox in this series. And then if they play the Guardians, I think I'm still going White Sox all the way. 100%. Moving on here to the next wildcard game. Probably the matchup most people will be watching here. Red Sox at the Yankees. Winner of this will play Tampa Bay. It ⁓ I think I'm going with the Red Sox. I I kind of like the Red Sox. They especially like through the ⁓ The regular season they were like one of the worst teams and they turned things around, had like one of the best. I think it like June and July going into August, and they ended up making it as a wild card. ⁓ Tampa Bay kind of locked up their division early. ⁓ so then yeah, and then the Yankees, I d I think they're gonna be without Aaron Judge. I I think he was taking batting practice, but it's very questionable on if he's gonna actually be playing in this series. ⁓ Yeah, unfortunately he's been hurt for a lot of the year. But I think I think I'm rocking with the Sox in this one. And if they play Tampa Bay, apparently Tampa Bay is like a very good offensive team. Whether you like home runs or you like small ball, they can do it all. They're overall probably one of the best offensive teams in this playoffs. Junior Camonero. One of the best home run hitters in ball. Yeah, they got everything. So I think whoever wins out of that, I think it's gonna end up being like the Tampa Bay Rays, unless the Red Sox just somehow catch some of that lightning they had early on in the season. Moving on to the National League wild card series here. We have the Phillies at the Braves. Winner of that will play the Los Angeles Dodgers. Now this one this is the one I'm I I'm most excited about. You're excited about this matchup. I love yeah. Phillies and Braves. I I like the Phillies just because Bryce Harper, Trey Turner, all those guys. Also, I love Kyle Schorbaum, dude. Yeah, you you you are a shor you are a shorebomber. I'm a shwerby. Yeah. And ⁓ unfortunately for that, I think the winner of that series is gonna be playing the Dodgers. Dodgers are going for a three Pete. They're like the wha what's the Star Wars, the the Darth Vader? They're the Darth Vader? No, no, no. They're not not the Darth Vader. They're like the the the they're the Empire. You're trying to s they're trying to we're trying to stop. Correct. We don't want we don't want to see the the three peat happen. Although I yeah, listen, I'm not totally. They're they're the big bad. They're the big bad wolf. Correct. I mean they're obvious the hard favorites cause but Yeah, I wonder who has the best odds right now on all these teams. I bet the Dodgers are honestly I mean the Brewers over a hundred wins this season. So yeah, it is it's Dodgers, Brewers, Rays, Yankees is top five. I might I might be a little Dodger glazing because the the Brewers might just be the best team currently. But in a in a seven game span, maybe the Dodgers are the best. Yep. And then so I think it's gonna be Phillies. Beat the Braves. Actually, I'm I'm really just I'm rooting with my heart there. I think the Braves are the better team, especially being at home against the Phillies, but I'm just I'm kind of rooting for the Phillies and then unfortunately I think whoever plays that, it might be the Dodgers that come out of there. So ⁓ players get to hitting. Matt, who do you have who do you have in that series? Illies Braves? Yeah. Illies. Okay. Miss Worby. All right, next one here, Cubs at the Padres. Winner of that will play Jacob Mizrowski and the Milwaukee Brewers. Now listen, dude. Padres are cool. I think I'm rooting for the Cubs, though. Pete Crow Armstrong, winning MVP. ⁓ Cubs have kind of been on a magical season. I don't think anyone was expecting a season like this. From PCA. I mean, like, he's had his struggles, but like just the Cubs as a whole. Seems like something always goes wrong for him ever since they won the World Series. And ⁓ I think the Cubs win this series against the Padres. And then I think Cobbs Brewers is gonna be a really good series. I think it's gonna be an absolute battle there between those two teams. PCA versus Mizurawski. Yeah. I mean PCA catch up towards the end of the year it just like he was heading home run more games than he wasn't, it seemed like. Just multiple days a week he was having multiple home runs in a game. Like it was intense. Yeah, what a insane finish of the season for him. Yeah, the clip that he was on. ⁓ Matt, this leads me to my one final question here. One final question. Let's give our World Series predictions. Do you have yours? I got my I got my fun one. This isn't my actual World Series prediction, but my fun one would be the White Sox taking on the Chicago Cubs. Battle of Chicago in the World Series. Ooh, that would be elite. Dude, that would be so fun because they wouldn't have to travel that far for each game. It would just be across the city. I know. Take a train ride. I mean, that's my dream matchup in in this World Series, if that could happen. Yeah, I would love the White Sox. To make it that far. There's like I said, they're a young, fun team. It seems like both Chicago teams are like the darlings of this MLB playoffs. Yeah, I mean like I think you could root for both. I mean, obviously I I love Miz Mizurowski. I want the Brewers to do well. I love Swerby on the Phillies, kinda. Is this who I want to win or who I think will give who you want and then who you think. Cause who I who I want would be White Sox and Cubs. I would say White Sox and Brewers, probably. Okay. Who do you think? Who I think I mean Probably raised Dodgers. Okay. Just because the Dodgers are so deep. I know they didn't have a better record than the Brewers, but you have Shohei and that insanely deep starting pitcher rotation. Highest payroll in baseball? Over a billion. Over two billion. Is Terry Swimming making his playoff debut? I don't know if he ever got one with the Lions. Or not the Lions, the Tigers. Tigers. ⁓ team. I believe. I have no idea. I'm just assuming it's I'm saying it's gonna be the Dodgers pitchers. Justin Brander had his final game as a MLB player. He's officially retired. Happy retirement, Justin Verlander. Automatic gold say gold jacket. I don't think they get gold jackets from MLB, but. No, it's ⁓ where does it where is their hall of fame at? The gold ball. Where is the MLB Hall of Fame at? ⁓ it's isn't it where they do the little league at? ⁓ I know this. We've been podcasting too much. Doesn't seem like it doesn't seem like we're podcasting enough, actually. But automatic first ballot hall of fame pitcher, Justin Berlando retires. Cooperstown. I knew that. Such an idiot. I was thinking I was I initially I was like Canton, but no, that's NFL. ⁓ who do I think's gonna win the World Series? ⁓ I guess Matt, you said you said Brewer's race. No, you said Dodgers. Dodgers race. Yeah. And who do you think wins? I just I don't see the Dodgers losing, man. You think they complete the three P and the playoffs, yeah. I'm gonna say I'm gonna say Rays and Brewers. I can see the the Brewers winning. I think the Brewers win. It's so hot right now. Yeah. But I would love to see Cubs, White Sox. That's that's like my dream matchup that ⁓ So we don't we don't think there's another team that could come out of the A L? I mean the Red Sox. I mean if Judge was fully healthy. Yeah, I just don't know. I think the Yankees made it last year. No, it's the Blue Jays made it last year. Yankees made it year before. I don't see the Guardians or the Astros. No. I don't see the White Sox, even though they'd be fun. As much as I want the White Sox, I don't think realistically I think w whether they make it to the just the the was it the DL, the ALDL or whatever it is, and then the championship series, I I think they they lose somewhere in there. Yeah, just based off of age and lack of experience. Yep. And ⁓ yeah, the White Sox do have the lowest odds to win the World Series of the teams remaining plus four thousand. That's kind of surprising. Yeah. I think the the Braves could also sneak out. The Braves are guardians. I mean the Asters being the worst record. ⁓ no, the Braves are in the National League. Whoops. We're talking about the American League. Braves could Braves could also skip out of the NL. Buck it in, man. This is not financial advice. Do not place a bet on what we what we're saying here on the on the baseball. On a better October baseball is one of the best October's like one of the best sports seasons. I'm gonna keep it a buck with you. I haven't watched much baseball this year. You're normally you're normally a Rangers or bus guy. I like To be fair, I started watching baseball in twenty twenty three. I watched every game by the Rangers. Not every game, but like Over. You watched it a lot. That was your first intro to baseball. And I got disgustingly spoiled off of it. I I try to tell you whatever you wise, like, don't expect this every year. This does not happen. I got so hype with Dolas Garcia, Corey Seeger, my sweet princes. You know how they I didn't even want the Rangers to make the playoffs, bro. No, I I was like, dude, if we make it to the playoffs, we're just gonna lose. I mean, obviously I did want them to win, but all right, Matt. Let's land this plane. Let's do some other sports real quick. Let's go around really pretty quick here. All right, real quick. Team USA, largest comeback in Presidents Cup history. They were down three points going into Sunday. They came back and won nine of nine of twelve of their singles matches, which is the most of Presidents Cup history. ⁓ Donald Trump was in attendance. He did see him off on the first tee and then stuck around for the trophy celebration. I'm not gonna lie, the one g the one day I watched, Europeans like smoked the US. So I was like, Okay, well we're probably gonna lose the President's Cup. We haven't lost the President's Cup since nineteen ninety four and by God the boys pulled it out. Unfortunately the NFL was going on at this time, so like I was watching my Cowboys just lose and said I could have been watching Team USA win their eleventh straight title and Medina. So yeah. Also ⁓ Scotty Scheffler, Jackson Quaven just completed the big comeback. Scotty Scheffler class act on the thirty foot gimme putt after a fan yelled in one of the opponents back swings for ⁓ the ⁓ the world team. I want to say Team Europe, that's that's the Ryder Cup. But yeah, now Team USA will turn their focus to next year's Ryder Cup, which is gonna be in Ireland. So we're gonna see if this Team USA is really a good team, because it seems like the Ryder Cup the last couple years has gone to Team Europe. Also you would think they would be the favorite because of they have the best golfer in Scotty, but I guess it takes more than one player. Yeah. And ⁓ well speaking we got a young talent, Jackson Quaven, didn't lose a single match in the Presidents Cup. Off to a great start. He's the first player to never lose or not lose a a match in his opening debut. So good stuff there from Team USA. Then moving on to UFC Vegas 121, UFC Fight Night 289. Cedriquez Dumas and Luis Hernandez. Really, this fight was pretty short, but they had the coolest walkouts. So Cedriquez Dumas is a convicted felon and came out to Akon's song Locked Up, which is pretty cool. Luis Hernandez is an active duty. Sheriff with Miami Dade's sheriff's office. He walked out to that's the sound of the police. It was the first time like a ⁓ a felon and a police officer have fought. And ⁓ Luis Hernandez defeated Dumas in a submission in just 57 seconds. He choked about. So the police won this one. That's that's so fitting. ⁓ also, shout out to Luis Hernandez. He stepped into the bout with forty eight hours notice to replace Mickey Gay Mickey Gall. And Hernandez is now nine and ⁓ with a one hundred percent finish rate. He's actually pretty good young talent. I think he came off of Daniel White's contender series. And ⁓ after he said he wants to fight across three different weight classes, one seventy, one eighty five, and two ⁓ five in three months to make UFC history. I don't think the body's capable of that. That quick a weight class with weight gain, weight loss. I don't know what his plan is there, but he is ⁓ absolutely exciting fighter in the UFC coming up. Hundred percent finish for you. That's pretty good. No, he's I mean, nine and ⁓ is nine and And ⁓ that's an officer you don't want to get arrested by. They call him the stash because he has a sick mustache. ⁓ do you know who Ronnie Coleman is? Yeah. You know he was a a cop? He was, yeah. I've seen the video of him putting on like he didn't even need like the bulletproof vest or anything, dude. He was just a superhero. Those are two guys you do not want to see if you're You want a red light. That's that's that's that's who you wanna call to pull you out of the burning building. That's the guy you want to call the cops on if they pull you over. Yeah, all right, Matt. Let's ⁓ let's close out the show here. Thank you everyone for listening.
