- 0:00Speaker 1: Let's all start to it. You want to present some
- 0:03off the Bench.
- 0:03Speaker 2: This is what we have been waiting for.
- 0:05Speaker 1: The hype is off the bench the bitch. Now here's
- 0:10Jacob Hester.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Welcome in our number two, a Wednesday edition of Off
- 0:17the Bench. Taylor Sharp here with you, sitting in for
- 0:21Jacob Hester here today tomorrow. Jake will be back on Friday.
- 0:27Jake actually gonna send us back some interviews from the
- 0:30SEC spring meetings, probably this afternoon. We will play them
- 0:34during tomorrow's show. LSU Coaches, you know that that sort
- 0:37of thing. Well, we'll have that for you all tomorrow
- 0:40and then Jake ultimately we'll be back on Friday. Right now,
- 0:45we want to look at a little bit of New
- 0:46Orleans Saints because we're having Raster Jackson on at nine
- 0:49am to talk some OTAs. But Ross, obviously he does
- 0:52Locked on Saints now writes for us here at luisianasports
- 0:56dot Net. He put out a thing yesterday, this article
- 1:00talking about OTAs and some veterans returning for the Saints
- 1:04that are actually battling for roster spots, and the one
- 1:08he mentioned yesterday was none other than former LSU running
- 1:11back Clyde Edwardsilaire. He says, look, there weren't a ton
- 1:14of bright spots late in the twenty twenty four season
- 1:17for the Saints, but one of those players that was
- 1:21a pretty good bright spot was Ben Ruge Naive. Clyde
- 1:23Edwards Hilaire, he said, the oellowsh Tiger was given a
- 1:25chance to play for his home state Saints. Now he
- 1:28was re signed this offseason after having you know, a
- 1:32decent finish, about as good as you could behind that
- 1:35offensive line on that offense a year ago. And he'll
- 1:38battle for a spot in this running back room. And
- 1:41when ross breaks down, why Clyde Edwards Hilaire has a
- 1:45solid chance, He talks. Look, aside from Alvin Kamara, Clyde
- 1:50Dwardshilaire is the most experienced player in this position room.
- 1:52He's going into a sixth NFL season. If you remember,
- 1:55Clyde was a twenty twenty first round pick for the
- 1:58Kansas City Chiefs, the very last pick in the first round.
- 2:03Chiefs Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes. They know a little bit
- 2:05about offense, and you know, however you feel about Clyde
- 2:10Oderson Hilaire's career at this point, they selected Clyde at
- 2:14running back over guys like Jonathan Taylor, JK.
- 2:17Speaker 4: Dobbins.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I mean there were that was a really solid running
- 2:20back class. Clyde Edwards Hilior was his first running back
- 2:22to go. That's what the Kansas City Chiefs thought of him.
- 2:25I trust the.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Opinion of Patrick Mahomes Andy Reid.
- 2:27Speaker 3: When it comes to offense, he was a solid pass
- 2:31blocker so far in his NFL career. He's been able
- 2:33to catch the ball out of the backfield. He could
- 2:35be a three down contributor in the right scheme. He's
- 2:39got flexibility to his game, He's got the maturity just mentioned.
- 2:43He's the second most experienced guy in this backfield now
- 2:46going into his sixth NFL season. And look, you know,
- 2:49Clyde Sadden up and down NFL career, had a pretty
- 2:52good rookie year, had a lot of injuries to deal with.
- 2:55The Chiefs ultimately released him before he landed here last
- 2:58year late in the season.
- 3:00Speaker 4: With the New Orleans Saints.
- 3:01Speaker 3: But look, when you look at the depth of this
- 3:04running back room, you can obviously pencil in Alvin Kamara
- 3:08is RB one. You no longer have Jordan Mint, So
- 3:11really your returners from a year ago, Alvin Kamara, Clyd Edwards,
- 3:15Dlaire and Kendre Miller, who has shown no ability to
- 3:18stay healthy. And look, even when Kindre has been healthy,
- 3:22I mean, he's been a solid player, but just look
- 3:25at look at what he's done in two years. He
- 3:28has eighty carries, three hundred and four yards, two touchdowns.
- 3:33That's that's it. All that came in fourteen games over
- 3:37two years.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Two starts.
- 3:39Speaker 3: I mean, that's that's not getting it done. It's you
- 3:45need more three point eight yards per attempt as well.
- 3:49So again, even when Kindre Miller's been on the field,
- 3:51he hasn't exactly lit up the statue.
- 3:58Speaker 4: The young guys are exciting. Though.
- 4:00Speaker 3: You were able to get Devin Neil in the sixth
- 4:03round of this NFL Draft. We had talked about it
- 4:05a lot on this show about you know, the deepest
- 4:08positions going into this twenty twenty five NFL Draft. My
- 4:11answer was always pretty steady the running back position. I mean,
- 4:16look at what Cam Skataboo did in the college football
- 4:18plaoff like any other year, that guy's a top two
- 4:21round pick. What's got to be good round four. You
- 4:24got Devin Neil in round six Devin Neil, the all
- 4:26time leading rusher for the Kansas Jayhawks. You'll look at
- 4:29what Devin Neil did in college in his four year career,
- 4:33seven hundred and sixty carries, four three hundred and forty
- 4:36three yards, forty nine rushing touchdowns. Oh and that's on
- 4:40a five point seven yards per carry average.
- 4:42Speaker 5: That's real production right there.
- 4:43Speaker 4: That's real production right there.
- 4:45Speaker 3: Also seven hundred yards receiving in four years, so we
- 4:48can catch the ball out of the backfield eighty eight
- 4:51point six yards per game. And that's one of Kansas
- 4:53offense that wasn't exactly great. I mean at times teams
- 4:57are key and n on him because yeah, you had
- 4:59Ja Daniels, you had Jason Bean. But like neither of those,
- 5:02Jalen Daniels has had so many issues. He never could
- 5:05stay healthy. That's the only reason we know who Jason
- 5:07Bean was was because he was j Jalen Daniels's backup
- 5:11for two seasons. Devin Neil was that offense and he
- 5:14was incredible three years in a row twenty twenty two,
- 5:18one thousand ninety yards, nine touchdowns, twenty twenty three, twelve
- 5:21eighty sixteen touchdowns. What does he do with that, he
- 5:24follows it up the exact same sixteen touchdowns again in
- 5:27twenty twenty four.
- 5:28Speaker 4: I think Devin Neil is the real deal.
- 5:30Speaker 3: I mean, he's a guy that's five to eleven, he's
- 5:32two hundred and ten pounds.
- 5:33Speaker 4: He has the size to play right away. I like
- 5:36Devin Neil.
- 5:36Speaker 3: I mean I think the longer OTAs goes on offseason workout,
- 5:40you know, when you get into preseason camp, Devin Neil
- 5:42is going to continue to rise up that board. I
- 5:43don't think there's any question that he is going to
- 5:45pass up Kendre Miller. I'm not even sure Kendre Miller
- 5:48makes this team because don't sleep on Marcus Yarns, the
- 5:53undrafted free agent, the rookie out of Delaware.
- 5:56Speaker 4: You know, we we've.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Seen Delaware in the past produce from an f players,
- 6:00none bigger than Joe Flacco, of course, who's won a
- 6:02Super Bowl.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Devin Neil.
- 6:04Speaker 3: I mean Marc Descharn's five to eleven, hovering around two
- 6:07hundred pounds, very similar to.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Devin Neil. But you look at what he.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Did last season at Delaware for the Blue Hens. He
- 6:20led the team with eight hundred and forty four rushing
- 6:22yards and six touchdowns.
- 6:24Speaker 4: But he also had two.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Hundred and ninety seven yards receiving and five touchdowns. He's
- 6:30a guy that doesn't have a lot of tread on
- 6:31the tire. He has the ability to catch the ball
- 6:34out at the backfield. Could he potentially be a third
- 6:37down slash pass catching back now? I know in his career,
- 6:40Alvin Kamara has been that every down back on third
- 6:43down in passing situations.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Alvin Kamara has been that guy.
- 6:46Speaker 3: But Kamara's not getting any younger, and you're going to
- 6:48need somebody to spell Alvin Kamara to give Kamara a breather.
- 6:52I think on early downs it's Devin Neil, no question
- 6:54about it. He is that pure runner running back that
- 6:58you need. But if you need a guy out of
- 6:59the back, I mean Marcus Yarns did a really nice
- 7:03job at catching the ball out of the backfield in college.
- 7:08And again that's multiple seats. I mentioned that eight hundred
- 7:11and forty four yards rushing to ninety seven receiving in
- 7:15twenty twenty three was even better nine hundred and thirty
- 7:18nine yards rushing fifteen touchdowns, also three hundred yards receiving
- 7:22out of the backfield This is a guy that he
- 7:24is an.
- 7:24Speaker 4: All purpose back. He can do a little bit of
- 7:26everything for you.
- 7:27Speaker 3: If Marcus Yarns can pass, block as well as get
- 7:30out of the backfield and catch passes, Marcus Yarns is
- 7:32going to make this team.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Now.
- 7:34Speaker 3: We're going to see how he performs in preseason, what
- 7:36the rest of the offseason looks like, what the OTAs
- 7:38looked like.
- 7:39Speaker 4: When Ross hops on with us at.
- 7:41Speaker 3: Nine am, I'm gonna ask him about Devin Neil and
- 7:43Marcus Yarns. I'm not sure Kendre Miller makes this team
- 7:49because I don't know about you guys. I trust Clyde
- 7:51utit Layer more than I do Kendre Miller. I'm sure
- 7:54Clyde edit z Layer has had injury concerns, but we've
- 7:57only seen what he can do. He's been productive, He's
- 8:00played in big time games with the Kansas City Chiefs.
- 8:02You can't really say that about Kendre Miller. And I
- 8:05just laid it out. Fourteen games in two years, three
- 8:08hundred yards rushing, two touchdowns. That is what Kendre Miller
- 8:11has given you as a New Orleans sink. And that's
- 8:14a guy who's a third round draft pick. Keep in mind,
- 8:19this coaching staff did not draft Kendre Miller. What they
- 8:22did do was draft Devin Neil, and they signed Marcus
- 8:25Yarns in the offseason, and they wanted to bring back
- 8:28Clyde Edwards.
- 8:29Speaker 4: Hilaire. Kendre Miller is still in his rookie deal.
- 8:31Speaker 3: It's one of those things where it's like you brought
- 8:33in Clyde Yarns, Devin Neil, Kendre Miller was just kind
- 8:37of here when he got here. Me and Jordan Jordan
- 8:41we were talking about this not long ago, and you
- 8:43and I were saying, Oh, we don't know if Kendre
- 8:45Miller or Jordan Mims makes this team. They already got
- 8:47rid of Jordan Mimes. They're already one down. Like, do
- 8:51you think Kendre Miller makes this team because I don't.
- 8:53Speaker 5: All right, so outside looking in, obviously not, because there
- 8:57is zero production of Kendre Miller. And you've been you've
- 9:00been wanting this so bad, not only for him to
- 9:03be on the field, but you've been looking for that
- 9:04guy to take that pressure off ak Like that was
- 9:06the whole point of Kendrem Miller was to come in
- 9:08and to believe. Yeah, literally just to relieviate the press
- 9:11off ak. We did not asking Kendre Miller to come
- 9:13in and be the guy. So I think the only
- 9:16universe that there's a way that Kenjre Miller makes this
- 9:20roster the first preseason game, he has to go off
- 9:22like it has to be like a.
- 9:23Speaker 4: Four yard or somebody like Neil or Clyde.
- 9:26Speaker 5: I know, somebody gets hurt, you know, injuries, you know,
- 9:28But I'm just talking like, you know, performance wise. I
- 9:31feel like the only way that Kendre Miller can really
- 9:33save himself on this Saints team this year is that
- 9:36either the first two preseason games he has to explode,
- 9:39like I'm talking like a fifty yard run, like something
- 9:41that the coach is like, oh, we can't teach this,
- 9:43Like this is something.
- 9:44Speaker 4: That you saw, something that the other guys don't have,
- 9:46that they don't have.
- 9:47Speaker 5: Like the burst and pop you've seen at TCU. Only
- 9:50way possible other than that, I think his bag's already packed.
- 9:53Speaker 3: That's kind of exactly what I was getting at with
- 9:56these other two guys, right, You're talking about something that
- 9:58the other guys don't have. Yeah, Marcus jon can catch
- 10:00the ball out of the backfield, at least in college,
- 10:02probably better than anybody you currently have on your team.
- 10:05Devin Neil, He's got the explosiveness out of the back here.
- 10:07Speaker 5: He got production.
- 10:08Speaker 3: You saw the yards per carry in college. You saw
- 10:10the production. Clyde former first round pick, he had production
- 10:13in college, which, like Kendre Miller's behind the eight ball
- 10:16on all three of those players. Like, right now, you
- 10:18have five running backs on the roster. I'm putting Kendre
- 10:21Miller fifth. You got Kamara and Clyde, Edwards Hilayer who
- 10:23have been there, they're veterans. You got Devin Neil who's
- 10:27going to make this team. And I think if Marcus
- 10:29Yarns outperforms Kendre Miller in preseason camp, like this staff
- 10:32did not draft Kendre Miller, I'll keep going back to that.
- 10:36Speaker 4: And then look, we always.
- 10:37Speaker 3: Criticized Dennis Allen for pretty much everything in rightfullysa. I
- 10:40mean you remember the press conferences with Dennis Allen, Right,
- 10:43it was a whole lot of knot that he never
- 10:44gave anything. The only time Dennis Allen ever got fired
- 10:47up was when he was criticizing Kendre Miller. I mean,
- 10:50we had talked about it multiple times and played the
- 10:53clips here over and over of Dennis Allen being asked, hey,
- 10:56whin's Kendre Miller being healthy? And Dennis Allen's answer was
- 10:59pretty much quite so.
- 11:01Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 11:01Speaker 3: We don't really know what's wrong with it. So this
- 11:03is more than just an injury thing. It kind of
- 11:05seems like a miscommunication between him and the New Orleans Saints.
- 11:09Speaker 5: Hey didn't Dennis Island. Wasn't Dennis Island when I was like,
- 11:12you can't make the team in the tub or something
- 11:14like that about.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Dre Miller's Yeah, he never threw his players.
- 11:19Speaker 5: Under the bus ever. Ever, well, unless you unless you
- 11:21score on the Falcons.
- 11:23Speaker 4: Used to score the Falcons, but he did the Kendre Miller.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah, that's the only buy That tells me a
- 11:28lot about Kidre Miller. No, look, I don't know Kendre Miller.
- 11:30I'm not in that front office. kN Dre might be
- 11:31a great teammate. Dennis Allen didn't think he was. And
- 11:34now you bring in a new staff of these offensive
- 11:37minded guys. I mean, look at look at your offensive staff.
- 11:40Doug Nussmeyer, Kellen Moore is your offense. You're the facto
- 11:45offensive coordinator is also your head coach. Like these guys
- 11:47no offense, they know how to score points. If Kendre
- 11:50Miller's not producing in the preseason, Kendre Miller's not gonna
- 11:53make this team.
- 11:53Speaker 5: But you know the scariest thing though, that really goes
- 11:55back to your your main point. You're talking about who
- 11:57drafted him. Dennis Island drafted this man to under the bus. Yeah,
- 12:00that's the biggest red flag. It don't get a bigger record,
- 12:03a bigger reflag.
- 12:04Speaker 3: And that's after two years because you know what they say,
- 12:06it shouldn't be this way. But the higher draft pick
- 12:09you are, the longer legal lea you have. Kin Trey
- 12:12Miller's a third round pick literally, and Dennis Allen was
- 12:15done with him halfway through his second season.
- 12:17Speaker 4: That's scary, and it's because he has started two games.
- 12:20He's only played in fourteen.
- 12:21Speaker 3: He's averaging three point eight yards per carry, three hundred
- 12:24and four yards rushing in two touchdowns. That is what
- 12:27third round pick Kendre Miller has given.
- 12:29Speaker 5: You in two seasons.
- 12:31Speaker 4: I'm not saying the guy's not talented. I think he is.
- 12:33We saw it at TCU.
- 12:34Speaker 3: But there's some sort of disconnect, whether it's injuries, whether
- 12:37it's a learning curve in the NFL, there is something.
- 12:39And if Kendre Miller doesn't get it together, he's going
- 12:41to get passed by Devin Neil. He's going to get
- 12:43passed back Glader Jelaire, and he's going to get passed
- 12:45by Marcus Arns and he's not going to make this team.
- 12:48Speaker 4: Now, we'll see what happens.
- 12:49Speaker 3: Really, you have Alvin Kamara and a giant question mark
- 12:51behind that, but I actually like the depth behind Alvin Kamara.
- 12:56If these guys could stay healthy, all right, we're gonna
- 12:58take a time out and we get back.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Stuart Mandel.
- 13:00Speaker 3: The athletic put out the top twenty five college football
- 13:03program since two thousand and it is just an incredibly
- 13:07bias list. We'll get into that next here on Off

- 14:27Speaker 7: Today and welcome.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Welcome back.
- 14:42Speaker 3: In nour number two Wednesday edition of Off the Bench,
- 14:46Taylor Sharp here with you in for Jacob Pastor, Lundraville
- 14:48Real Jordan Kitchens along for the ride as well. Stuart
- 14:53Mandell of The Athletic put out a list on Twitter
- 14:57of his top twenty five college football programs. It's the
- 15:00year two thousand and When I look at this list,
- 15:03the first two words I thought of were recency bias.
- 15:08Speaker 1: I just.
- 15:10Speaker 4: I can't get behind this list.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Now.
- 15:12Speaker 3: You know, you look at it, it's top twenty five,
- 15:13So sixteen through twenty five doesn't really matter. I don't
- 15:17care about that as much the top ten. If you
- 15:20want to go top ten, by the way, first off,
- 15:24Notre Dame at thirteen over Miami and Auburn. Now you
- 15:28can argue that a bunch of different ways. Miami and
- 15:30Auburn have the titles. Notre Dame, as I like to
- 15:33point out, hadn't really won anything since the eighties, but
- 15:36they have been a more consistent program in terms of
- 15:39getting to big Bowl games and getting to playoffs. Miami
- 15:42and Auburn haven't really done that in a number of years.
- 15:44So whatever you're splitting hairs there. If you want to
- 15:47look at reaching the pinnacle with titles, you go Miami Auburn.
- 15:50If you want to go consistency, Eugo, Notre Dame, I'm
- 15:53good with that. Florida State twelve, Michigan eleven, eh, whatever.
- 15:57I think Texas, USC, and Florida should all be ahead
- 16:01of Oregon. But again, Oregon has been more consistent, And
- 16:04this is why I go with recency bias.
- 16:06Speaker 4: They've been better off late.
- 16:08Speaker 3: But this list is not the best college football programs
- 16:10of the last ten years. It's the best since two thousand,
- 16:13USC has titles. Since two thousand, Texas has a title.
- 16:16Now Texas hasn't done anything since then. Now they've made
- 16:20back to back playoff appearances, haven't won a championship. I mean,
- 16:23since Vin Sjong walked off the field in the Rose
- 16:25Bowl against USC, Texas has zero titles. They got the
- 16:27same number that I do. Florida won two in three
- 16:30years with Urban Meyer. We remember that six and eight.
- 16:34Oregan hasn't done those things. But again, they haven't had
- 16:37the fall off that the Texas that a USC, that
- 16:39of Florida has.
- 16:40Speaker 4: So I think you're splitting hairs it.
- 16:42Speaker 3: Clemson at six, I'm fine with they have multiple titles,
- 16:45but that's really only been the last ten years or so.
- 16:48It is really when when Clemson started getting good. He
- 16:52has LSU at five. I'm okay with LSU at five
- 16:55for the most part. I mean, I think that's okay.
- 16:57In the past couple of years, LSU's been a little disappointing.
- 17:01I mean, hew, LSU's own fan base will tell you
- 17:04that you do have Georgia over LSU, which I can't
- 17:08get behind again. I'm gonna go back to recency bias. Recently,
- 17:12the last ten or so years, george has been dominant. Hell,
- 17:14they've probably been the premier program in college football. This
- 17:18list is since two thousand. LSU has three titles and
- 17:21it played for a fourth. Georgia only has two, and
- 17:24even when LSU's had down years, it hasn't been super down,
- 17:27not like a Texas, A Florida or USC.
- 17:31Speaker 4: At number three, though, that's where.
- 17:33Speaker 3: This list gets really really dicey, here's the Oklahoma Sooners
- 17:39at number three. Oklahoma won a title in the year
- 17:43two thousand and that's it now. They played for one
- 17:47in two thousand and eight against Florida. And if you
- 17:50want to go back to the argument of well consistency,
- 17:53they've made multiple BCS Bowls, they've played for a national championship,
- 17:57They've made the College Football Playoff a number of times.
- 17:59So Oklahoma has gotten there. They've done what they've needed
- 18:02to do in the regular season. They just haven't been
- 18:04able to get over the hump. If you want to
- 18:05have Oklahoma in the top five, that's fine. I think
- 18:08the argument could be made for Oklahoma to be in
- 18:10the top five because they've been a consistent program since
- 18:13two thousand. Problem is, I can't put them over Georgia
- 18:16and LSU, both of which have multiple titles.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Oklahoma has not.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Oklahoma has the Heisman's that's fine. If Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray,
- 18:26Jalen Hurts finished second. Caleb Williams was there ultimately won
- 18:30the Heisman at USC, but he was there as well.
- 18:33But you're not ranking these programs based on quarterback play.
- 18:37Sam Bradford won the Heisman, Andrey Jones was there. He
- 18:40was a good quarterback. But are you just ranking this
- 18:43on Oh well, these teams had a bunch of quarterbacks
- 18:45that were drafted really high and they won Heisman trophies.
- 18:47I think you have to dive a little bit more
- 18:49into that. And I'm about to do something that I
- 18:53never thought i would do, and that has defend the
- 18:56University of Alabama because on Stuart Mandel's list, the number
- 19:02one college football program since the year two thousand is
- 19:06the Ohio State Buckeyes. How in the hell are the
- 19:10Alabama Crimson Tide not the number one team on this list?
- 19:14Speaker 4: Get it?
- 19:14Speaker 3: Ohio State's consistent a lot like Oklahoma, but they have
- 19:18the titles to back it up as well. Ohio State
- 19:20three titles since two two thousand and two, twenty fourteen,
- 19:23twenty twenty four, Alabama six of them. Oh nine, twenty eleven,
- 19:29twenty twelve, twenty fifteen, twenty seventeen, twenty twenty. Part of
- 19:33the reason we hate Alabama Nick Saban so much in
- 19:35these parts is because they beat you every year.
- 19:37Speaker 4: They beat everybody every year.
- 19:39Speaker 3: They were the pinnacle of college football for ten seasons,
- 19:42and I get it up. Until Saban got there in
- 19:44two thousand and seven, they weren't great, but two thousand
- 19:47and seven to twenty twenty five, that's a big enough
- 19:50sample size. I don't really care what they did before
- 19:52two thousand and seven. I mean, you just go look
- 19:54at Nick Saban year by year. Saban played in four
- 19:59straight College Football Playoff National championship games. He wins it
- 20:03in twenty fifteen, twenty sixteen, he loses. That was the
- 20:07Hunter Renfro play Deshaun Watson to Hunter Renfro at the
- 20:10last second for Clemson's first national title. He wins in
- 20:14twenty seventeen, and then again Clemson in twenty eighteen gets
- 20:17them again, that's four straight national championship games. Also, they
- 20:22win in twenty twenty as they beat Ohio State, and
- 20:28then they lose in twenty twenty one. Oh, don't forget
- 20:33the three BCS national championships that Nick Saban has. I
- 20:38am no fan of Alabama. I'll never get up here
- 20:40and defend them again. This is one of those that
- 20:44I'm hoping Stuart Mandel put out just for clicks. I mean, hell,
- 20:47I'm talking about it right here. But you cannot have
- 20:50the University of Alabama anywhere other than number one.
- 20:53Speaker 4: I mean, look at what Nick Saban has done.
- 20:55Speaker 3: There is a reason he is considered the greatest coach
- 20:57in the history of college football. Sure, iiO State won
- 21:00the national championship last year. I think they're in a
- 21:02better spot to win one this year than they are
- 21:04the University of Alabama. But this is not the best
- 21:07programs in the last five to ten years. It's the
- 21:09best sense of the year two thousand and Nobody touches
- 21:11the Alabama Crimson Tide. With seven national championships, ten national
- 21:17championship appearances in a twenty five year period, three BCS titles,
- 21:23three College Football Playoff titles. They've done it in every format, BCS,
- 21:27four team playoff, you name it. Last year was the
- 21:30first year of the twelve team and they got left out.
- 21:32But Alabama is always competitive every year. I mean, we
- 21:36called last year a down year for Alabama because they
- 21:38lost three regular season games, and it is because that's
- 21:41how absurd Nick Saban was. Nick Saban's first year in Alabama,
- 21:45they weren't great. They were seven and six. Saban went
- 21:49ten to three in twenty ten. Since that time, he
- 21:55never lost more than two games in a season. Ever,
- 21:59twenty ten was time until this past season that Alabama
- 22:02had three losses in the regular season. You're not going
- 22:04to find a more consistent program than that. And again,
- 22:07going back to the LSU factor, I'm putting LSU over Oklahoma.
- 22:11I'm putting Georgia over Oklahoma. LSU has won three national titles.
- 22:16They've played for a fourth against Alabama in twenty eleven.
- 22:20And then if you want to throw the Heismans in there,
- 22:22you have two Heisman Trophy winners Joe Burrow Jayden Daniels.
- 22:27Speaker 4: I don't get this.
- 22:28Speaker 3: I'm hoping this is just one of those clickbait things,
- 22:31and Stuart Mandel is not serious.
- 22:32Speaker 4: Because I have a big problem with this.
- 22:36Speaker 3: I mean to have Ohio State number one with three
- 22:40national titles, and yet they've been there. They've been consistent,
- 22:44they haven't really had a drop off, whether it was
- 22:47from Urban Meyer, they go straight into Ryan Day, he
- 22:50finally gets through, he wins the title.
- 22:52Speaker 4: But they've been a consistent team.
- 22:54Speaker 3: If you want to talk about most consistent teams since
- 22:57two thousand, sure maybe Ohio State has an argument. You
- 23:00cannot tell me under any circumstances, there is Ohio State
- 23:03a better college football program than Alabama in any decade
- 23:06in any era, much less since twenty to twenty twenty five,
- 23:09when Alabama has six national types.
- 23:11Speaker 4: No way about.
- 23:13Speaker 3: If you want to know the rest of the list,
- 23:14I mean, the bottom of it doesn't really matter. But
- 23:17we can just go through the rest. I gave you
- 23:18the top fifteen. We can run through sixteen to twenty five.
- 23:21Here real quick, Wisconsin sixteen, Penn State seventeen, Virginia Tech eighteen,
- 23:26TCU nineteen, Boise State twenty, and then the bottom five
- 23:30Okie State twenty one, Utah twenty two, I what twenty three,
- 23:34Washington twenty four, Michigan State twenty five, I really care
- 23:37about the bottom of that list. Sure, they're all consistent
- 23:40programs that have hovered around eight and four every year.
- 23:42I mean, that's that's kind of what you get to
- 23:44sixteen to twenty five.
- 23:45Speaker 4: I'm good with it.
- 23:47Speaker 3: I'm really good with this list until you get to
- 23:49Oregon at seven. I could drop them a few spots,
- 23:53but that's up five. Having Oklahoma at three over Georgia
- 23:56and LSU, I don't understand, and then having Ohios one
- 24:00over Alabama is an outrage. I don't I don't know
- 24:03how you can do that in good conscience.
- 24:05Speaker 4: All right, Look, we're gonna take a quick time out.
- 24:07We get back.
- 24:09Speaker 3: The NBA playoffs have been really entertaining both teams, the
- 24:13Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder a three to
- 24:15one lead Eastern Conference Western Conference. Me and Jordan are
- 24:18gonna chop that up a little bit when we get
- 24:19back here. On Off the bench.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Off the bench, go to get Gordon dot com.
- 24:25Speaker 6: Get Gordon dot com is the website for Gordon McKernin
- 24:29injury attorneys. And if you go to the website, you
- 24:33can see what they can do for you cases they
- 24:35can handle for you in the courtroom.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Like a full list is on the home page.
- 24:39Speaker 6: You can get past client results, so you know people
- 24:42that have worked with Gordon and the team and the
- 24:45results that we always tell you about. I mean, look,
- 24:46I mean, if you're watching this on YouTube, you can

- 25:13Speaker 2: And then also your area code in Louisiana.
- 25:16Speaker 6: So three one eight, two, two, five nine eight five
- 25:18five oh four three three seven, does not matter, follow
- 25:21about eighty eight, eighty eight, eighty eight, get Gordon and
- 25:23get it done.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Welcome back to Off the Bench.
- 25:49Speaker 4: Welcome back.
- 25:49Speaker 3: In hour number two, Wednesday edition of OTB, we just
- 25:54got into a big Emmanuel McCrone discussion during break Alandra
- 25:59filling me in. I remember you talking about this a
- 26:01long time ago, and then I guess it was the
- 26:05slap that brought it up because you mentioned it a
- 26:07little bit yesterday when somebody asked about the Macron title fight,
- 26:10and then Victoria asked me. She goes, this was last night,
- 26:14like right before about to go to bed. She's like, hey,
- 26:15do you do you know about this situation? Like it
- 26:18is so funny. A Landra mentioned this exact same thing
- 26:21two day. I was like, the first time I had
- 26:22heard about it in a while. So I guess the
- 26:25slap herd around the world is gaining a little bit
- 26:27of attraction.
- 26:27Speaker 8: I think, so something that I've been trying to tell
- 26:32people about for a while now is starting to like
- 26:36slowly come out. And I just hope everybody goes down
- 26:41the same rabbit hole I did, because it's a great one.
- 26:43Speaker 4: Well, I couldn't remember, like I remembered a long time
- 26:46ago that you had, like I was trying to tell
- 26:49you about it. Yeah, Okay.
- 26:51Speaker 8: Sometimes I come in here and I probably look like
- 26:53Charlie on Always Sunny when he's.
- 26:56Speaker 4: Like got all the yeah strings together.
- 26:58Speaker 8: Yeah, Like I feel like sometimes I come in here
- 27:01and I just tell y'all crazy stuff that like rabbit
- 27:05holes that I go down, And when T Bob was here,
- 27:08he was so dismissive about it, and he thinks I'm insane,
- 27:12But I mean, eventually it all comes out. So what
- 27:16do they say, what's done in the dark.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Always comes to the light or whatever. Yeah, I don't
- 27:23know where you're going. Yeah, I think it was the
- 27:24saying it's something like that, something in the dark comes
- 27:26to the light. That's That's what I know now because
- 27:29I remember it a long time ago. You were telling
- 27:31us about like, oh, well, there's a rumor that, you know,
- 27:34Brigitte's not who she says she is, and then this,
- 27:36this and this, and then I kind of forgot about
- 27:38who it was. I remember the conversation, and then you
- 27:41brought up McCrone yesterday, and then last night Victoria goes, oh, yeah,
- 27:44there's a rumor that like it's not really her and
- 27:46this and this. I was like, oh wait a minute,
- 27:48now I remembered the conversation that you and I had
- 27:50a long time ago.
- 27:52Speaker 8: Like the worst part of this that has nothing to
- 27:56do with like the I wouldn't even call it a
- 27:59conspiracy theory, that has nothing to do with whether Brigitte
- 28:03is a man or not that it has nothing to
- 28:05do with that. Regardless of whatever, she was forty, she
- 28:11was his teacher, and they say they say that she
- 28:17was forty and he was seventeen, but really he was
- 28:22fourteen when they first started like interacting and knowing each
- 28:27other because she was like his teacher and he was
- 28:29in theater and she saw him doing a play and
- 28:32she just thought he was so well read and all
- 28:35this stuff. And that's just weird to me. You're an
- 28:39older teacher and you're trying to get with a student.
- 28:44Speaker 4: How old are they now?
- 28:47Speaker 8: I don't know, but that that's what let me see.
- 28:50How long I mean, they're both like this is a
- 28:51while ago, Yeah, they're so. Bridgie is alleged, Well she's
- 28:55seventy two, Okay, so they've been together for a while
- 28:58and he's forty seven.
- 28:59Speaker 2: Okay.
- 29:00Speaker 8: Yeah, And all I'm gonna say is this, this is
- 29:05the last thing I'm gonna say about this, because I
- 29:07feel like I'm sounding real crazy and this is probably
- 29:09not something like this is probably like something we probably
- 29:12shouldn't have like brought on the air. But you can't
- 29:15find any childhood photos of Regie machrome, Okay, And I
- 29:23just think.
- 29:23Speaker 3: That maybe maybe it's just a secretive. Maybe she just
- 29:25kept to herself. Flandra, I mean it doesn't always. No,
- 29:29I'm kidding. This is sketchy. The more I hear about it, Like,
- 29:31I'm as much of a conspiracy theorist as a landre Is.
- 29:35I am normally a conspiracy theorist denier. I'm kind of
- 29:38on board with this. I mean, I'm kind of like,
- 29:40where where the hell was Brigie? Like, she didn't she
- 29:43didn't take class pictures.
- 29:44Speaker 4: She not that damn old. They took those when you
- 29:46were when you were younger, I.
- 29:47Speaker 8: Mean seven like photos of the rest of her family.
- 29:50Speaker 4: Oh see, that's even sketchy, but just not in the
- 29:53family photos. Not so she was always taking a picture.
- 29:56Speaker 8: So they do have like a couple where they're saying
- 29:59it's Bridgie, but it looks nothing like Brigie.
- 30:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean you could find a random little girl and.
- 30:04Speaker 8: Yeah, but it's like two photos that they show of
- 30:07her when she was younger. But I don't know, we
- 30:13have a y'all do the deep dive. Yeah, I mean,
- 30:15you know, it's it's been a pretty good Wednesday.
- 30:18Speaker 4: We opened the show.
- 30:19Speaker 3: We opened the show talk about Jordan's bathroom situation, which
- 30:23directly leads to, uh, did he get into a fight
- 30:25with a coach with a kettlebell? And now we're talking
- 30:27about some inappropriate teacher student relationship that may or may
- 30:31not have even occurred, because we're not even sure this
- 30:33is a real person.
- 30:33Speaker 5: So that's that's called peak morning radio. You know something.
- 30:37Speaker 3: The good news is if Brigitte's not real, then she's
- 30:41not in trouble for the student teacher relationship.
- 30:43Speaker 8: She has tried to Oh my god, y'all got me started,
- 30:48because she she's tried to sue multiple people for defamation. Yeah,
- 30:53and none of it it's about like small details, like
- 30:57none of it is actually about the subject.
- 31:00Speaker 4: So it's like, I'm not denying this.
- 31:01Speaker 3: I'm denying this one little small part that you that
- 31:04you mentioned or failed demand.
- 31:05Speaker 4: I can tell you more.
- 31:06Speaker 8: During the break, but it's I feel like I'm unlike
- 31:10unhinged right now.
- 31:12Speaker 3: I can I can feel that all right, before we
- 31:15gotta break Jordan real quick. Eastern Conference, Western Conference Pacers
- 31:20Thunder both up three to one. Are those series over?
- 31:23Speaker 5: Uh uh okay, Minnesota? It might be because okay, see
- 31:30This is the best way I had explained. Okay see,
- 31:32okay see is like a boa constrictor. Like they're like
- 31:35a python. They just squeeze the life out of you.
- 31:37Like it feels like, I mean, they have the best
- 31:39defense in the NBA. It feels like you're in the
- 31:41game and then you look up and he's going to
- 31:43twenty to two run or something like that. So, okay, see,
- 31:46it might be over. Uh maybe that I can I
- 31:48can see the Knicks getting one more, but there's I
- 31:50think both series are over. I think it will be
- 31:52okay see in the Pacers. I can see the Knicks
- 31:54getting one more because they got to go back to
- 31:55New York. I can see that. Okay. I mean Minnesota
- 31:59is just like they uns Anthony Lewis pops off, which
- 32:01I highly doubt will happen. With the defense, They're just
- 32:04getting the life squeezed out of them. So yeah, I
- 32:06think both series are officially over.
- 32:07Speaker 3: How much of the game last night and I'm like,
- 32:09oh man, you know this is a must win for
- 32:10the Knicks because the Pacers will go up three to one.
- 32:12It's hard to come back. Those a must win for
- 32:14the Pacers. Yeah, because they won voted their games in
- 32:16New York. New York wins the first one in Indiana.
- 32:19If New York would have tied that series up last night,
- 32:22go back to the home court would have been back
- 32:24to New York. They would have went back to the Garden,
- 32:26tied all the advantages, nicked. That was a must win
- 32:28for the Paceries last night more than anything. One more
- 32:32question before you gotta break is, however many bench warmers
- 32:37or Hayden ass haters voted Tyrese Haliburton is the most
- 32:41overrated player in the NBA. Is that the biggest slip
- 32:44of the NBA season so far?
- 32:50Speaker 5: I mean it's up there. I mean it's up there
- 32:51because it turned him into a whole nother animal. Like
- 32:56Halliburton was good, but this this shows you that he's
- 33:00able to take that next step.
- 33:01Speaker 2: Like he was.
- 33:02Speaker 5: I'm gonna say he was. Caliburn was around you know,
- 33:05maybe nine ten talking about point guard. I'm not talking
- 33:07about like probably around nine to ten before the playoffs started.
- 33:10Now he's in the discussion where it's like, yo, it's Haliburton.
- 33:13Speaker 4: See the best point guard in that lague.
- 33:14Speaker 5: Best guard in the NBA. Yeah, So that it kind
- 33:17of was like the juice that you know, game a
- 33:19little bit of juice.
- 33:19Speaker 7: He needed that.
- 33:19Speaker 5: Everybody needs a little bit of hate. Everybody needs a
- 33:21little bit hate.
- 33:22Speaker 7: Man.
- 33:22Speaker 3: Look, I've been on this, this Haliburn thing for a
- 33:24while just because like people act like all the Pacers
- 33:27came out of nowhere. This team was in the conference
- 33:28finals the last year. Like sure they got manhandled by
- 33:32the Celtics. Celtics kind of did that to everybody, Like
- 33:34this team was in the conference finals a year ago.
- 33:36This is not the first time we've seen this from
- 33:38tyre Celibert now, to Jordan's point, like he's at another
- 33:40level now, like maybe to this level, this is the
- 33:43first time we've seen it. But you know, I wanted
- 33:45to bring up these numbers to tell you just how
- 33:47overrated Tyrese Halliburton is in NBA history. They're the players
- 33:52that have posted a thirty ten fifteen triple double in
- 33:55the postseason, Oscar Robertson, Nicola Jokich, Tyresellabert the player to
- 34:01do that without a single turnover, only Tyrese Halibert. He
- 34:05had thirty two points, twelve rebounds, fifteen assists and no
- 34:08turnovers and played over forty minutes for thirty thirty eight
- 34:11minutes is what he played.
- 34:12Speaker 5: It was special, like it it felt like you were
- 34:15watching somebody in that flow state.
- 34:18Speaker 3: It's it's one of the most perfect playoff performances I've
- 34:20ever seen. And it's it's hard to say that.
- 34:22Speaker 5: Over fifteen zero turnovers. You can't explain that in it
- 34:25not one mistake, you didn't mess up one time.
- 34:27Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you can mention it. It's hard to say,
- 34:31like quiet second half with thirty two points, but it was.
- 34:34He had twenty eight and nine at halftime, Tyrey's Helibert
- 34:38and Damn near out a triple double at halftime of
- 34:41a must win Game four.
- 34:42Speaker 4: I mean, that's how big he was. And there was
- 34:44a stout on the broadcast.
- 34:45Speaker 3: I will correct it if I find out it was wrong,
- 34:47but I believe whoever was calling the game said they're
- 34:54thirty thirty plus point fifteen assist games in the playoff
- 34:59or yeah, have only been done by three players in
- 35:03NBA history. Terre's Halliburton has five of them already and
- 35:05he's twenty four years old.
- 35:07Speaker 5: It's crazy.
- 35:08Speaker 3: It's just you you look, he's the he's the first
- 35:11player in Pacers history with multiple playoff triple doubles.
- 35:13Speaker 5: But I'll be honest, what's holding him back. I'm not
- 35:16even gonna say like this is his fault. It's just
- 35:19because he plays for the Pacers.
- 35:20Speaker 2: That's it.
- 35:20Speaker 5: Like if he played for any.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Other dude, if he was with the LA Lakers or
- 35:24the New York Nags.
- 35:25Speaker 5: Yeah, the conversation with his name would be oh man,
- 35:28they went to the conference finals. Like you said, he
- 35:29went to the COMSS finals last year. But just because
- 35:31of the Paces, Nobody's like, oh, they can't do it again.
- 35:33It's the Paces who cares like but.
- 35:34Speaker 3: And then so many people are like, oh, this team
- 35:36came out of nowhere, know what they did, and they
- 35:37really didn't like they should have been. They should have
- 35:39been one of your favorites coming into the playoffs. Yeah,
- 35:41it was more than just Haliburton, Like Pascal.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Sea, how comes a monster? Miles Turner's really good down low.
- 35:47Speaker 5: Say Nimron, I mean Niece Smith went god mode again.
- 35:50Speaker 3: We were talking about TJ McConnell during break like, he's
- 35:52one of the best backup point guards in the league easily,
- 35:55Like this team's deep bendic Matheren had twenty points off
- 35:57the bench last.
- 35:58Speaker 5: Nink about this though. You have Halliburton who's running at
- 36:01his pace. The Pacers play with like so you have
- 36:03Halliburton that's controlling the pace like this super fast, they
- 36:06up and down. He comes out the game. Here comes TJ. McConnell.
- 36:09Speaker 1: No kind of.
- 36:11Speaker 9: He's a lot smaller like Halliburton six. But they the
- 36:13same way, same thing, They do, the exact same thing,
- 36:16just energy. It's hard, man, it's I'm gonn tell you.
- 36:19Let me take this before we wrap up. It's super hard.
- 36:21Speaker 5: The problem with the Knicks is I think they would
- 36:22have matched a way better if the Celtics made it
- 36:24this far. It's the Pacers are so deep and they
- 36:27go so fast. The Knicks are running.
- 36:29Speaker 4: They play five guys, that's what they do.
- 36:32Speaker 5: Like it's dude, you got guys to sub it in
- 36:34and out fresh. It's like, what can you do?
- 36:37Speaker 4: I mean, the Pacers have a nine man rotation the Knicks.
- 36:41Speaker 5: Sometimes that's crazy.
- 36:43Speaker 3: All right, look, we're gonna take a time out. Just
- 36:44wanted to get a little playoff talk in. There's there
- 36:47was a hell of a basketball game last night between
- 36:49the Pacers and the Knicks. We're gonna take a time
- 36:50out here, we come back, Bryce Coon if twenty four
- 36:53to seven sports is gonna hop on tug a little
- 36:54LSU crewdon that's coming up here on off the bench,
- 36:57Off the bench.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Are you good?
- 36:59Speaker 6: A Pelican roof dot compelicanroof dot com is the website

- 37:59Speaker 3: Welcome back to It's the Bench, Welcome back in, Welcome
- 38:21back in final segment. I re number two here on
- 38:23a Wednesday edition of Off the Bench. Let's go out
- 38:26to the phone lines right now. Bryce Coon covers LSU
- 38:28for two four seven Sports. Bryce, how are you this morning?
- 38:32Speaker 10: Dude? Well, man, I appreciate you having me on.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, thanks for the time. We talk a little
- 38:37recruiting here last week. Kind of the big news at
- 38:40the beginning of last week was Bo Bentley narrowing his
- 38:43choices down to LSU in Oklahoma. Appears to be a
- 38:46two headed battle for his services, and you had a
- 38:49nice write up on him. Just kind of give me
- 38:51your thoughts on Bo Bentley as a prospect, Like, if
- 38:55the Tigers do land in what would they beginning?
- 38:58Speaker 10: Yeah, No, I think you know you can go with
- 39:00far to really kind of look at what our national
- 39:02scouting team has done, and you know, just even watching
- 39:04the film you can kind of see it. I think
- 39:06LSU fans will get a better glimpse of it now
- 39:08that he's in the SEC, but that college comp right
- 39:10now is John the Pier. And I think when you
- 39:13got to have a guy that you kind of look
- 39:15at some of the stats and the tier has put
- 39:17up at the college level so far, I mean, a
- 39:19great year last year out West, and we'll see what
- 39:21he could do in Norman. But and just the guy
- 39:23that can I wouldn't say a true true dual threat,
- 39:26but really a player that can just hit you in
- 39:28a multitude of ways. And so you know, there's a
- 39:30lot of I would say, I guess qualms. Some people
- 39:34have some gripes to have about Garrettnsmeyer's game if you
- 39:36want to about the man the unwillingness or inability to
- 39:40run the football. Bo Bentley is the guy that I
- 39:43think that you know, he's not afraid to tuck it
- 39:45and pick up some yardage there, He's willing to do it.
- 39:47He's not the pure runner that a guy like Jaye
- 39:49Daniels obviously is, but there just can hit you in
- 39:52different ways than I think the biggest part about it
- 39:55is just the precision and accuracy that he has showcased
- 39:59at all three levels, not just in the shorten the intermediate,
- 40:01but kind of the deep ball there as well in
- 40:03the high school level. And that's something that Joe Sloan
- 40:05like when you go out to these camps, especially in
- 40:07the summer when they host the top quarterbacks each year,
- 40:10that's something that just on immediately puts these guys in
- 40:13the test, like, Hey, we are going to make sure
- 40:15you can obviously throw the five yard out route, We're
- 40:17going to make sure that you can throw the ten
- 40:18to fifteen, but then I want to see how you
- 40:20can throw the twenty to twenty five plus yard throw
- 40:22as well. And so you know, Bentley checks those boxes
- 40:25the prospect and let's Taydler, you mean you followed it
- 40:27long enough, you know as well as I do. They're
- 40:29far from a finished product, and you know, our ranking
- 40:32system tries to do a pretty good job of these things.
- 40:34But I think in terms of Bentley, you kind of
- 40:36have the willingness to run the football and kind of
- 40:39be that dual threat attack. But also, man, he can
- 40:42throw the ball. He's got some really good accuracy in
- 40:44some really good touch, especially in that intermediate to long
- 40:47passing games.
- 40:48Speaker 3: What do you think the Tygers stand with Bentley? Like
- 40:50you know, LSU Oklahoma, like you think anybody has the
- 40:53lead right now.
- 40:55Speaker 10: Well, you know, it's kind of been why they reported that.
- 40:57You know, Bentley is the guy that grew up Oklahoma fan,
- 41:01and you know, I think that that definitely plays into
- 41:04it a little bit of course, Like I mean, did
- 41:06you playing for the hometown team? Looks LSU fans and
- 41:10evens US in the media we always talk about, you know,
- 41:12the pride for some of these kids in the state
- 41:14to be able to play and put on for the
- 41:16home state team. That obviously kind of makes sense when
- 41:18you talk about Bentley and his favorite school growing up
- 41:21being Oklahoma. But I'm very hard for us, and they
- 41:24talked with some people, you know, when it was kind
- 41:27of the top three was Georgia, Oklahoma, LSU, and Georgia
- 41:31obviously secured the commitment of five star Jhurtis. It was
- 41:34one of those things where Palmer's they really kind of
- 41:37felt like it was Georgia versus LSU, and Oklahoma was
- 41:40still there, but maybe Oklahoma was in that Tier two
- 41:43category and was a one A, one B situation. You know,
- 41:46I don't think Joe, Sloana them have done anything for
- 41:49me right now to not think that they're in the lead.
- 41:52I think this is something that you know and all
- 41:54obviously with the announcement of his commitment date kind of
- 41:57being right after that ov to Oklahoma here in the
- 42:00next couple of weeks, it's something that's going to wrap
- 42:02up quickly. So I think heading into this weekend, you've
- 42:05got a really good opportunity to kind of iron out
- 42:08some things, iron out some details that you like. Because
- 42:11from all from talking with sources, he likes what Joe
- 42:14Sloan and s LSU offense is about. They like what
- 42:16he's about. There's not much of getting to know each
- 42:19other more at this point. It's really kind of you
- 42:22know the play and the purpose to pitch making sure
- 42:25you hit on all those right marks.
- 42:26Speaker 4: This weekend, there's a few more for you here.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Tristan Keyes currently committed the five star wide receiver, but
- 42:32he's still taking his visits.
- 42:33Speaker 7: Now.
- 42:33Speaker 3: We see guys do this all the time, But I mean,
- 42:35what's the confidence level right now that LS you can
- 42:37keep him?
- 42:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 42:39Speaker 10: I went out to Hattie berg to about a week
- 42:41and a half ago and sat down with his new
- 42:43head coach, sat down with his offensive coordinator who's coached
- 42:46him since he was in the eighth grade and even
- 42:48sat down with Tristan for for a little bit, and
- 42:50I think the feeling that I got away from it is, look,
- 42:52I mean, this kid is a top rated receiver in
- 42:55the country and he's going to enjoy the process. And look, Taylor,
- 42:58I don't know about you, but you and I probably
- 43:00weren't as beneficial to be able to enjoy things like that.
- 43:03So go and enjoy it. Take the visit, you know,
- 43:05and ginger fighting and guiding that OV season is. And
- 43:08I think the big thing for dis recruitment is, you know,
- 43:12every single person I talked to up and around that school,
- 43:15from whether it was coaches, even a couple of teachers
- 43:17as well, was that LSU has just made their presence
- 43:20knows so well, and they've just consistently been around the school.
- 43:25They've been around trust in his family, and they've been
- 43:28around the coaching man who just to get to know
- 43:31him more. And you know, and this day and age,
- 43:33when you talk about a number one receiver, I think
- 43:35the immediate reaction is when you see he sets up
- 43:37a visit to their school, is like, Okay, the money
- 43:39being thrown around, and that's that's a piece of the puzzle.
- 43:41For sure when you have that high of a rank
- 43:44and you're that type of player. But you know, just
- 43:46talking with Keys, like the big message that LSU has
- 43:49hit home with him is we can offer you opportunities
- 43:52to help yourself, to help your family now. But this
- 43:54is a place where you can come and you cannot
- 43:57just get the you know, the first NFL check. But
- 43:59we're we're getting guys that you know, we're developing and
- 44:01they're getting that big second NFL contract and that's kind
- 44:04of the big piece of the puzzle. So look, it
- 44:06doesn't hurt when you have, you know, obviously the track
- 44:09record that LSU does, even as recently as as Brian
- 44:13Thomas Junior and league neighbors, who are you know, just
- 44:15lived on fire last year. So I think heading into
- 44:18the kind of you know where he's going to take
- 44:20some more visits, I still feel comfortable saying LSU, you know,
- 44:24is winning the battle. That's kind of how I talk
- 44:26about recruiting. Now, you got to win the war. They've
- 44:28won the initial battle. I still think that they're leading,
- 44:31and you know the relationship with Courts has hankin just
- 44:34from even talking with Keys, like it's much more than
- 44:37just the bad. So I think it's just it would
- 44:39be really surprising, which I know LSU has unfortunately seen
- 44:44a lot of surprising stuff not go their way at
- 44:47times in the recruiting world. But it would just be
- 44:49really surprising with the work that they've done, was not
- 44:52just him, but his family and everyone around him, for
- 44:55him to kind of flip through the cracks. And I said, truly, Taylor,
- 44:58I think LSU would have to miss up somewhere and
- 45:00I just don't see that happening.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Rush.
- 45:03Speaker 3: Your Tiger fans really appreciate that. Bryce, we were up
- 45:05against a heart break. But real quick, before we get
- 45:07you out of here, where can people see more of
- 45:08your stuff?
- 45:10Speaker 10: Of course? Man, no, go twenty four to seven. Come
- 45:12join us. It's a great time. We've obviously got Obcason
- 45:14kicking off this weekend. As we were talking, I'm working
- 45:17on a big piece kind of previous, a couple of
- 45:19targets that are coming in this weekend college baseball. Obviously
- 45:22we've got the region this weekend. But yeah, man, it's
- 45:25a fun time. Come join the crowd for what's going
- 45:27to be a really fentful months of June on the
- 45:29recruiting space. But Taylor I appreciate it time man.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, Bryce, thanks for hopping on with us. That
- 45:33right there was Bryce Coon covers LSU for twenty four
- 45:36seven sports over there at go to for seven. That's
- 45:39going to wrap up our number two here on a
- 45:42Wednesday of OTB. We've had a jam pack show so
- 45:45far and it's gonna continue an hour three top of
- 45:48the hour nine am Rawster Jackson locked on Saints Louisiana

- 45:53little update from OTAs. We're gonna talk some SEC Spring
