- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always. Hello, and we
- 0:21Speaker 1: are live.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Hello, everybody, Welcome back to another episode of Star Wars Alliance.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Of course, I am your host, Clay, and.
- 0:29Speaker 2: With me today not only am I joined by Katie,
- 0:33Speaker 2: but finally after so many hiccups, personal time, all of
- 0:41Speaker 2: these other things. That's the that's the reason why we
- 0:43Speaker 2: also haven't been live in a while. Just a lot
- 0:47Speaker 2: of personal stuff happening with all of us.
- 0:48Speaker 1: But Adrian is here. Adrian, Hello, how's it going? Yes?
- 0:54Speaker 1: Doing good? Doing good? How you been going on?
- 0:56Speaker 3: I was telling Adrian before you got here, Clay, I
- 0:59Speaker 3: don't know what demon has been in my house, but
- 1:00Speaker 3: I hope it leaves, like, don't come back.
- 1:05Speaker 1: That's good, It's good. I'm glad to see you guys,
- 1:07Speaker 1: Glad to talk Star Wars stuff.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Glad to see you as well. And we are ramping
- 1:13Speaker 2: up to Star Wars celebration. I know Agent you are
- 1:17Speaker 2: heading that way. You How excited are you? On a
- 1:23Speaker 2: scale of I feel like one to ten is not enough,
- 1:26Speaker 2: So like let's let's go full one hundred, one to
- 1:29Speaker 2: one hundred, Like, how do you?
- 1:30Speaker 1: How hyped are you?
- 1:33Speaker 4: I think I mean a hundred for like the whole
- 1:36Speaker 4: Japan trip, because I mean, we're going to like the
- 1:38Speaker 4: World's Fair, We're doing like celebration and all other stuff
- 1:41Speaker 4: like that should be fun. I think, like as I'm
- 1:45Speaker 4: a little disappointed with like the panels if if I'm
- 1:48Speaker 4: being honest, Yeah, yeah, Like the big panels are kind
- 1:51Speaker 4: of like it feels kind of lame compared to what
- 1:54Speaker 4: the last ones were. But I'm hoping that I don't know,
- 1:58Speaker 4: the rest of it is fun and announce happened and
- 2:00Speaker 4: I'm sure, I'm sure it's going to be a good time,
- 2:02Speaker 4: but the main panels aren't as exciting this time around.
- 2:08Speaker 4: So I'm hoping that I get to go see and
- 2:09Speaker 4: or early fingers crossed. Yeah, I'm hoping for some surprises.
- 2:15Speaker 4: That's what I'm hoping for. They're just keeping stuff close
- 2:19Speaker 4: to the chest, and that's why they're like they're gonna
- 2:20Speaker 4: be secret panels announced or something.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know, we'll see, but I'm
- 2:23Speaker 1: excited though.
- 2:23Speaker 4: The bad dart looks super dope and excited to get
- 2:26Speaker 4: posters and all the con stuff.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Yeah, very nice.
- 2:32Speaker 3: And the main panels for anyone curious are Medlorid and
- 2:36Speaker 3: grogu on Friday and or on Saturday. Ahsoka also on Saturday,
- 2:42Speaker 3: and then Sunday is first look Star Wars Visions while
- 2:46Speaker 3: you three.
- 2:47Speaker 4: So yeah, and then like in relation like the last
- 2:52Speaker 4: you mean they had like a villains panel, and they
- 2:53Speaker 4: had like other white panels. They have like other reasons
- 2:56Speaker 4: to get more people on stage than just you know
- 3:00Speaker 4: what next thing is coming out. So that's the only
- 3:02Speaker 4: reason I'm LOLd, diaspointed, because I really really enjoyed the
- 3:05Speaker 4: villain's panel at the last celebration. I thought it was fantastic,
- 3:08Speaker 4: and I was hoping that they're going to do more
- 3:09Speaker 4: stuff like that this year.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Yeah, especially with Manny going, Oh, that would be a blast.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Do they have a concrete like book panel like anything.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I'm sure something. Yeah, I think like just like the
- 3:24Speaker 1: regular panels.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like that's the only those are the only
- 3:29Speaker 3: panels that have been announced so far.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Yeah, it looks like the main stage okay panel, Yes.
- 3:38Speaker 2: All right, Well, let's go ahead and jump into some
- 3:42Speaker 2: pieces of news here. Looking back, I think the biggest
- 3:48Speaker 2: talk of the town. Of course, last episode we were live,
- 3:51Speaker 2: we've talked about Figy versus Flony, that whole debacle on
- 4:00Speaker 2: if and when Kennedy actually retires, who is the best
- 4:08Speaker 2: fit for the position to look after lucasfilm, not just
- 4:13Speaker 2: Star Wars, remember lucasfilm. So there was that I see,
- 4:18Speaker 2: Katie you put this article from Deadline. Captain Kennedy sat
- 4:25Speaker 2: down with Deadline to talk why do we.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Get into it? Adrian you. We talked about Figy versus
- 4:32Speaker 3: Felony as like those of the top names floating around
- 4:36Speaker 3: right now. If you had to pick between the two,
- 4:40Speaker 3: pick and.
- 4:41Speaker 1: Why who would I pick? Ye? Felony because he's been
- 4:47Speaker 1: mentored by George Lucas directly.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Yeah, if I had picked I mean I have both
- 4:56Speaker 4: have it bi committee and get out of this stupid
- 4:58Speaker 4: president thing. So like it's more than just person. I
- 5:00Speaker 4: think is like what they should do. I mean, you
- 5:02Speaker 4: to do this bike and Menia. Now it can't just
- 5:04Speaker 4: be one person anymore. So I hope that it's like not,
- 5:07Speaker 4: I hope it's neither of them. I hope it's like
- 5:09Speaker 4: a bunch of people and we do like a chamber
- 5:13Speaker 4: or something, I don't know, something else, because there's too
- 5:15Speaker 4: much Star Wars for only one person to run it.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Now.
- 5:18Speaker 4: It was fine when it was like just the movies
- 5:20Speaker 4: and letting all of the other stuff just run in
- 5:23Speaker 4: the background because George Luis didn't care about the EU
- 5:25Speaker 4: all that much.
- 5:26Speaker 1: So now we have to, like, we have to have
- 5:29Speaker 1: so much more stuff to balance.
- 5:29Speaker 4: I think it's too much for one person, and anyone
- 5:32Speaker 4: who gets it's going to get a lot of flak
- 5:35Speaker 4: from either side. Bikes hope Kathleen Kennedy sticks around until
- 5:39Speaker 4: she's until she dies.
- 5:40Speaker 1: I want her to stay, stay forever again, you know
- 5:44Speaker 1: they're there.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Was well, I was gonna say the the thought did
- 5:48Speaker 2: come across. I did talk to a friend after we
- 5:50Speaker 2: had talked about filony versus Figee, and I've known him
- 5:58Speaker 2: since we were kids, and we always take this phrase
- 6:01Speaker 2: from this silly commercial and I can't even remember what
- 6:04Speaker 2: the commercial was from, but it's this little girl that
- 6:07Speaker 2: just the answer that makes everybody cheer at the end
- 6:10Speaker 2: of the commercial is pors.
- 6:12Speaker 1: It's like we have both, you know.
- 6:16Speaker 2: And I think there's a small precedent for it with
- 6:21Speaker 2: of course DC Studios, with Peter Saffron and James Gunn.
- 6:26Speaker 2: There is the aspect of the creator versus the businessman
- 6:30Speaker 2: working together to you know, have a studio.
- 6:34Speaker 1: And I think.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Lucasfilm could really help, Like it could really help the
- 6:40Speaker 2: brand of Lucasfilm altogether to have something like that.
- 6:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean and Chancellor, do you know, I High
- 6:49Speaker 4: Republic to Chancellor it or something, you know, Like it's
- 6:54Speaker 4: just it's and I think that the I think the
- 6:57Speaker 4: notion that Feloney would do a bad job I think
- 7:00Speaker 4: is crazy to me. I don't understand like why people
- 7:03Speaker 4: don't think Filoni would do a good job when like
- 7:05Speaker 4: he's like literally all of the projects that he does,
- 7:08Speaker 4: he brings in so many other people than just himself.
- 7:11Speaker 4: So I don't see why he wouldn't do like the
- 7:13Speaker 4: same thing to kind of run the ship. The best
- 7:17Speaker 4: episode of the Mandalorian and the best of anything aren't
- 7:20Speaker 4: the ones that he does directly.
- 7:22Speaker 1: It's usually somebody else.
- 7:23Speaker 4: So as long as if it is him, I feel
- 7:26Speaker 4: like he would be the better picks. I feel like
- 7:28Speaker 4: he would bring in more people to help run the
- 7:32Speaker 4: thing in like the creative director role, which I think
- 7:34Speaker 4: is like a better thing than having like a president.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Yeah, I think president losing losing its value as a term,
- 7:43Speaker 4: so we do something else instead.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Please that that that rings so true right now?
- 7:52Speaker 1: But we have the article.
- 7:55Speaker 2: The quote taken from here is The truth is. This
- 7:58Speaker 2: is from Kathleen Kennedy herself. The truth is, and I
- 8:01Speaker 2: want to just say out loud and clear, I am
- 8:04Speaker 2: not retiring. I will never retire from movies. What's happening
- 8:08Speaker 2: at Lucasfilm is I have been talking for quite some
- 8:12Speaker 2: time with both Bob and Alan about what eventual succession
- 8:17Speaker 2: might look like. We have an amazing bench of people here,
- 8:21Speaker 2: and we have every intention of making an announcement months
- 8:25Speaker 2: or a year down the road.
- 8:29Speaker 3: So the answer to the question of is she stepping
- 8:33Speaker 3: down from Lucasfilm is yes. Basically doesn't mean she's gonna
- 8:40Speaker 3: stop producing, yeah, the movies like she can still be
- 8:44Speaker 3: an executive producer. The answer is, in the next year
- 8:49Speaker 3: there will be a new president of Lucasfilm or a
- 8:52Speaker 3: successor to leave Lucasfilm in some way shape or for
- 8:56Speaker 3: that's the fancy jargon here, would y'all do?
- 9:03Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, I mean that's what it sounds like,
- 9:05Speaker 4: but also just sounds like shut up, you don't know,
- 9:08Speaker 4: like what you guys are talking about. And this became
- 9:11Speaker 4: a whole big thing and it shouldn't have been. I
- 9:14Speaker 4: think it's what it feels like to me, like chill,
- 9:16Speaker 4: Like if once it happens, you guys will know we're
- 9:19Speaker 4: not hiding it, like you guys will know what the
- 9:21Speaker 4: plan is. That's what I got out of that anyway.
- 9:25Speaker 3: And sorry, I just think there's more credence to it
- 9:29Speaker 3: because there's been rumors that she's retiring or stepping down
- 9:33Speaker 3: for years at this point, and to have the interview
- 9:37Speaker 3: now just says, Okay, hey, there's a little bit of
- 9:41Speaker 3: truth to this, but I gotta deflect somewhat here. So
- 9:48Speaker 3: that's my opinion.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Yeah, And I just also want to piggyback off of
- 9:54Speaker 2: something that Adrian said, you know, saying the fact that
- 9:57Speaker 2: you know you don't want her to retire until she's dead,
- 10:00Speaker 2: Katie saying how successful.
- 10:02Speaker 1: She has been.
- 10:03Speaker 2: This article does state Kennedy is arguably the most successful
- 10:07Speaker 2: female producer and executive in Hollywood history. She has produced
- 10:12Speaker 2: more than seventy films that have collected one hundred and
- 10:15Speaker 2: twenty Oscar nominations and twenty five wins, and she herself
- 10:20Speaker 2: was awarded the honorary Oscar with the Irving G. Thalberg
- 10:26Speaker 2: Memorial Award, with eight other OSCAR nominations like she is
- 10:32Speaker 2: a power house and she's a legend. I don't think
- 10:36Speaker 2: people see passed Star Wars with her, unfortunately, and I
- 10:44Speaker 2: think that may be one of the reasons why. I think, Hey,
- 10:48Speaker 2: you know what, step back from Lucasfilm. Yeah, sure, and
- 10:52Speaker 2: then show again why you're so famous and why you
- 10:56Speaker 2: took over Lucasfilm in the first place, you know, and
- 10:59Speaker 2: keep making those movies, keep producing and all of that.
- 11:03Speaker 1: I think that would be great.
- 11:05Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. I think that's like the boilerplate of
- 11:11Speaker 3: this interview she doesn't really address like like they try
- 11:19Speaker 3: to go, oh, is Filona your successor and she's like yeah,
- 11:22Speaker 3: Like there's an internal process. Basically, she asked like, hey,
- 11:30Speaker 3: why is your job such a huge focus, and like
- 11:34Speaker 3: there's like questions into that. But really, I think the
- 11:40Speaker 3: biggest thing out of here, other than hey, I'm retiring
- 11:44Speaker 3: but not retiring from movies, is that Sean Levy's movie
- 11:50Speaker 3: is coming next in the production line for Star Wars.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Any thoughts on that versus like Man's Gold movie and like.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Full I believe him.
- 12:06Speaker 4: I'll believe him when there's a trailer and stuff is
- 12:09Speaker 4: like set and there's an announcement on it. It's just
- 12:13Speaker 4: so much stuff, dude, just like this how many times
- 12:16Speaker 4: I'm just I can't. I can't be excited for a director,
- 12:20Speaker 4: I like, just for I think for me, it comes
- 12:23Speaker 4: like a lot to like the trailers, like it's preliminary talks,
- 12:26Speaker 4: preliminary talks, this is the thing that's next on the docket.
- 12:29Speaker 4: And then you know, Kevin Faigi, if you go with
- 12:31Speaker 4: like an MCU, look at all this stuff that we
- 12:33Speaker 4: never got. So being announced is fun, but until we
- 12:37Speaker 4: get I mean all that. Look all the stuff that
- 12:38Speaker 4: was announce at Star Wars celebration last time, and how
- 12:41Speaker 4: much movement has happened on like literally any of it
- 12:44Speaker 4: since then? Yeah, very little, so tempered expectations. You know,
- 12:50Speaker 4: I'm always down for new Star Wars stuff, but then
- 12:51Speaker 4: so stuff is concrete and like people are booked, I'm like,
- 12:55Speaker 4: oh cool, until something concrete happens, especially since I'm a
- 13:00Speaker 4: Star Wars game person too, where if you're like, oh,
- 13:04Speaker 4: where's a new game, then this never comes and I'm
- 13:06Speaker 4: just like stop being a damn Jedi in every damn
- 13:09Speaker 4: Star Wars game.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I feel the same way, you know, kind of taking
- 13:19Speaker 2: the conversation in a completely different direction.
- 13:23Speaker 1: But not really. But like.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I agree, Adrian, it's hard to get excited about anything now.
- 13:33Speaker 2: But like today that Leeli and Stitch Tailor brought a
- 13:37Speaker 2: tear to my damn. I man, like I saw that
- 13:41Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, I'm so pumped. I immediately
- 13:43Speaker 2: sent it to Abby and I was like, I think
- 13:45Speaker 2: we may actually have this. You know, take Amber, Linda,
- 13:48Speaker 2: watch this, and it's it's because it's right there, there's proof, like, hey,
- 13:54Speaker 2: here is what will be a finished project in just
- 13:57Speaker 2: a couple of months, Whereas, like you said, with with
- 14:02Speaker 2: a lot of this stuff, especially and in celebration, wasn't
- 14:06Speaker 2: even last year. It was two years ago, right, Yeah,
- 14:09Speaker 2: So that's that's that's even worse in my mind, the
- 14:12Speaker 2: fact that these things were announced two years ago, and
- 14:17Speaker 2: it feels like we've kicked the can maybe a foot,
- 14:22Speaker 2: like it's.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Daisy really has been in like four movies since then.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Yeah, Like I've heard really good things about those movies,
- 14:30Speaker 3: some more Power Tour, but.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Like I know, but Star Wars, like what are we doing?
- 14:35Speaker 4: You doesn't even know, like really what's going on with it?
- 14:36Speaker 3: You know?
- 14:37Speaker 4: So yeah, I'm just hoping that they're just keeping stuff
- 14:39Speaker 4: close to the chests, we'll get a whole bunch of celebration.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Then we can be happy again.
- 14:42Speaker 4: But again, like you said, until I get a trailer,
- 14:43Speaker 4: people that are peeking out about I'm waiting.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Yeah, or or even like and I don't condone this obviously,
- 14:50Speaker 3: but like paparazzi footage of like things being shot on
- 14:53Speaker 3: set like we're getting right now with the Odyssey from
- 14:56Speaker 3: Nolan's film, like stuff like that goes okay, this is
- 15:01Speaker 3: actually happening because like she talks about Simon Kinberg's movies
- 15:07Speaker 3: like being like the future of Star Wars and happening
- 15:09Speaker 3: post squel trilogy, and then Sean Levy's movie is five
- 15:13Speaker 3: to six years after the sequel trilogy, but it's a
- 15:16Speaker 3: standalone story, so maybe no sequel characters in it. So
- 15:21Speaker 3: it's just it'd be interesting to see. All Right, y'all,
- 15:24Speaker 3: we're gonna hit our first ad break and we will
- 15:26Speaker 3: be right back in three two one. What is actually happening?
- 15:34Speaker 2: Yeah, And I'm looking back at some of our news
- 15:40Speaker 2: tidbits that we had posted. We did talk about the
- 15:48Speaker 2: fact that Sean Levy's budget is going to be a
- 15:53Speaker 2: little bit smaller than you know what the quote unquote
- 15:57Speaker 2: normal Star.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Wars movie will be an agent.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I don't think, Like, so far, since you've been on
- 16:05Speaker 2: the show, we haven't really had the chance to hear
- 16:07Speaker 2: your opinion on this, But like the Ryan Gosling casting,
- 16:13Speaker 2: the fact that it will be its own standalone thing, Like,
- 16:18Speaker 2: how are you feeling about all of these elements that
- 16:20Speaker 2: are coming out of what will be Sean Lovey's movie.
- 16:26Speaker 1: I like Star Wars when it's lesser known actors.
- 16:30Speaker 4: I think that it's I think it takes people, well,
- 16:35Speaker 4: it takes me out a little bit of the thing
- 16:37Speaker 4: to have them have such big rules. It's why I
- 16:39Speaker 4: think that Carrie and Moss's role in Actlyte was like
- 16:42Speaker 4: so perfect because she probably like was the most recognizable
- 16:47Speaker 4: name going into it, and she was like barely in
- 16:49Speaker 4: it right. So I'm hoping that it's one of those
- 16:52Speaker 4: things like where he's in it, but he I mean,
- 16:54Speaker 4: I like Ryan Gosling, but like I don't, I don't.
- 16:57Speaker 4: I'm not dying to see him in Star Wars. If
- 16:59Speaker 4: I'm being honest, I love Ryan Gosling, but I'm going
- 17:01Speaker 4: to see him play Ryan Gosling in Star Wars because
- 17:05Speaker 4: I personally don't think his range is all that great,
- 17:08Speaker 4: So like what is he going to do? What is
- 17:10Speaker 4: he bringing to it? What is he what is he
- 17:12Speaker 4: going to be doing? That's different than like Lee Jung
- 17:15Speaker 4: Jay literally learning English to play a role and like
- 17:18Speaker 4: do something that we've never seen do before.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, like what do we do? We do we're
- 17:23Speaker 1: just trying to sell tickets.
- 17:24Speaker 4: If we're just trying to sell tickets, then I guess,
- 17:26Speaker 4: but it doesn't make me uber excited.
- 17:29Speaker 1: I like Ryan Gosling, but.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Like, yeah, Travis the godfather of the gua here. He
- 17:38Speaker 2: kind of has this saying that some people can be
- 17:41Speaker 2: too famous for Star Wars, and we've kind of bumped
- 17:47Speaker 2: heads with that statement on some of these castings. I
- 17:56Speaker 2: it's so funny because we made the discussion because they've
- 18:01Speaker 2: worked so well together. Could you imagine Ryan Reynolds in
- 18:05Speaker 2: a Star Wars movie and pass I and and I
- 18:17Speaker 2: think I think both Ryan's are too famous for Star Wars.
- 18:24Speaker 2: I think, well, because the first thing that comes to
- 18:27Speaker 2: mind for a lot of people when it comes to
- 18:29Speaker 2: Ryan Gosling, it's immediately, oh, we're getting another scoundrel, and
- 18:34Speaker 2: it's like okay.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Like if he plays a scoundrel, I'm out. It's this
- 18:39Speaker 1: idea of.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Getting for a scoundrel, like.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Like it the pretty boy always gets the scoundrel role.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I think that is like, don't turn that into a
- 18:50Speaker 2: cliche like let's yeah, let's let's change that please, And it.
- 18:58Speaker 3: Just is like my opinion on like too famous for
- 19:01Speaker 3: Star Wars, like I don't think there's anybody too famous
- 19:05Speaker 3: for Star Wars because like I don't blame these actors
- 19:08Speaker 3: for going that's my childhood dream to be in Star Wars,
- 19:13Speaker 3: Like I would love to do that. So I don't
- 19:15Speaker 3: want to like go, oh, you're too famous for Star Wars,
- 19:18Speaker 3: Like I won't do that kind of thing. But like,
- 19:23Speaker 3: I also don't think it's too much to say, hey,
- 19:26Speaker 3: play an alien instead of a human we already know.
- 19:30Speaker 1: From from the Bear and Shameless. I can't think of
- 19:34Speaker 1: his name off.
- 19:35Speaker 3: Yeah, but like, oh, Jeremy something.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Jeremy Allen.
- 19:40Speaker 4: Yeah, like Jeremy Allen, Like Jeremy Allen probably too big
- 19:42Speaker 4: to be in Star Wars. But what is he gonna be.
- 19:43Speaker 4: He's gonna be a hut something. Yeah, yeah that works.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Give me that. Put him in some prosthetics.
- 19:49Speaker 5: I'm down in, uh, you know with what we have,
- 19:55Speaker 5: you know, I I saw Ryan Goslin and I was like,
- 19:59Speaker 5: you know, we're kind of burnt.
- 20:03Speaker 2: I'm not gonna say burnt out on Jedi in Star Wars,
- 20:09Speaker 2: but I was like, hey, you know, Ryan Goslin could
- 20:12Speaker 2: possibly fit the look for a corn Horn and like,
- 20:19Speaker 2: that's just I threw that out there, while also throwing
- 20:23Speaker 2: out the fact that there's the rumor of Henry Cavill
- 20:26Speaker 2: being in a Star Wars film having him as Oh, shoot,
- 20:32Speaker 2: what's his name.
- 20:34Speaker 1: X Arcom. I think that would be kind of cool.
- 20:39Speaker 2: But yeah, just you know it when it comes to
- 20:42Speaker 2: these types of castings, because I you know, throwing my
- 20:48Speaker 2: own words in my mouth, throwing my foot in my mouth,
- 20:51Speaker 2: with you know, being too famous for Star Wars, I'll
- 20:54Speaker 2: take Henry Cavill a Star Wars.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Will But yeah, it is what it is. I'll say.
- 21:02Speaker 4: I'll say I like Henry cave because Henry Cavill has range,
- 21:05Speaker 4: I think more range than either of the Ryans personally. Again,
- 21:08Speaker 4: my thing is like, it's unless he's doing something like
- 21:12Speaker 4: ground Bak thereless either of them are doing something groundbreaking
- 21:15Speaker 4: with the role, Like if it's like a Ryan Gossling,
- 21:19Speaker 4: like love Story cool dope. Is it gonna be like
- 21:22Speaker 4: a Ryan Gosling like funny guy thing where he's just
- 21:25Speaker 4: gonna be handsome and like endearing and blah.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Blah blah blah blah.
- 21:28Speaker 4: There's a million and five other white guys in Hollywood
- 21:31Speaker 4: that I'm sure can play the exact same role, Like
- 21:34Speaker 4: why Ryan Gosling? Like yeah, I think the type casting
- 21:37Speaker 4: has to be important. That's why the act Lite was
- 21:39Speaker 4: so good because it was big name actor, big name
- 21:42Speaker 4: you quote unquote, big name actors that were specifically done
- 21:45Speaker 4: for the roles that Leslie Henlett like had in mind. Right,
- 21:48Speaker 4: it was very particular casting. So is it casting like
- 21:53Speaker 4: that or is it casting just to go get his
- 21:55Speaker 4: buddy into Star Wars because that was his dream? And
- 21:58Speaker 4: then I get to like watch how like a other
- 22:00Speaker 4: white dude gets to go be in Star Wars because
- 22:02Speaker 4: it's always been history and blah blah bah blahlah.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Everybody's dream, man, I.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Don't care, Like if it's me, I'm like yeah, no,
- 22:08Speaker 4: like that's that's my dream, but like let someone else go.
- 22:12Speaker 4: It's let someone else go do it, because I'm it's
- 22:15Speaker 4: not my lane staying stay in your lane, And that's
- 22:18Speaker 4: a fun.
- 22:23Speaker 3: Words. I think that's basically it on Sean Levy's film
- 22:34Speaker 3: and such. So Uh. Stephen Knight, Uh, the writer who
- 22:40Speaker 3: was attached to the New Jedi Order film, UH, did
- 22:44Speaker 3: an interview with The Playlist where he talks about writing
- 22:51Speaker 3: on the Star Wars film, and he said he loved
- 22:57Speaker 3: working on the movie and praised the Lucasomchi. He said,
- 23:00Speaker 3: I mean, it was such a great experience. And I'm
- 23:03Speaker 3: not just saying this. They were great people. Kathleen Kennedy
- 23:06Speaker 3: is a pleasure to work with. Lucas film are smart
- 23:10Speaker 3: people who know their craft, and for me, it's like
- 23:12Speaker 3: a particular discipline in the world of writing and film.
- 23:15Speaker 3: It's this world and you enter the world and you
- 23:17Speaker 3: do your bit and you do your take. I always
- 23:22Speaker 3: knew the process then moves on. So I don't know
- 23:25Speaker 3: what of the writing that I've submitted is going to
- 23:28Speaker 3: end up in whatever the next incarnation of that movie is.
- 23:31Speaker 3: It's just great to be there and to be a
- 23:33Speaker 3: part of that. It sounds like he enjoyed working on
- 23:36Speaker 3: it and it was standard Hollywood process, like you and
- 23:39Speaker 3: I talked about when him leaving was announced.
- 23:44Speaker 2: So he also made this comment here he said working
- 23:49Speaker 2: on the script was to feel like stepping into a
- 23:54Speaker 2: hurricane in a way, because of the fans, because of
- 23:56Speaker 2: what they want and what they feel. So you're in
- 23:59Speaker 2: the world and you're doing Uh.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Did you already say this part? M okay?
- 24:05Speaker 2: Because he's saying your bit again. He used that phrase
- 24:09Speaker 2: so many times.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Uh.
- 24:13Speaker 2: He said, you either get blown away and use it.
- 24:16Speaker 2: And I really wanted to use that energy to do
- 24:20Speaker 2: what I do, to contribute what I want to contribute.
- 24:25Speaker 1: I don't think did we did we.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Talk about what he's done in the past as far
- 24:30Speaker 2: as like if I am aware of what he has done,
- 24:34Speaker 2: I can't remember.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Mainly, I think the big things have been Peaky Blinders,
- 24:46Speaker 3: A thousand Blows, Luck and Serenity. I have not seen
- 24:52Speaker 3: anything he's done. Actually, I think he did Watchmen, didn't he?
- 24:55Speaker 3: I want to say he did Watchmen? Or maybe that
- 24:59Speaker 3: was nothing writer on this film.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Seeing that he has done a lot of who wants
- 25:08Speaker 2: to be a millionaire back in the day. But yeah, no,
- 25:14Speaker 2: I don't think I have seen any of his work.
- 25:19Speaker 1: At all. So I am.
- 25:22Speaker 2: Excited to see what he contributed. Oh, he worked on
- 25:27Speaker 2: c which I have not done. I have not watched it,
- 25:31Speaker 2: but I know that a lot of people did love
- 25:33Speaker 2: that show with Jason good I have seen that.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Yeah, so oh yeah, ALTV does good stuff.
- 25:43Speaker 4: I mean, that's probably the only exciting thing I think
- 25:46Speaker 4: you guys have mentioned so far.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know, again, we'll see how this turns out.
- 25:58Speaker 2: There is no timeline I feel like for this film
- 26:04Speaker 2: as far as hard timeline, no hard dates or anything
- 26:08Speaker 2: like that. And hopefully, like we've said for the past
- 26:13Speaker 2: twenty minutes, hopefully we get something at Star Wars celebration
- 26:17Speaker 2: in just over a month to see what we you know,
- 26:23Speaker 2: will hopefully be actually be able to get a countdown
- 26:26Speaker 2: of like, hey, we will finally get to see this
- 26:29Speaker 2: movie on this date, on this year whatever.
- 26:32Speaker 1: So yeah, we'll see. All right, just let's let them cook,
- 26:41Speaker 1: let them cook you a little bit. Yeah, cook please.
- 26:47Speaker 3: So the next bit of news, because the figure will
- 26:49Speaker 3: end on the and or interview is like the latest thing.
- 26:54Speaker 3: So Favreau in an interview, it looks like we French
- 27:02Speaker 3: entertainment news be in BFMTV. Inside he talked about season
- 27:12Speaker 3: four of The Mandalorian. He said, season four, Yeah, I've
- 27:16Speaker 3: written it already. We have to know where we are
- 27:19Speaker 3: going to tell a fully formed story, so we haven't it.
- 27:24Speaker 3: We haven't. We had mapped it out Dave Filoni and
- 27:26Speaker 3: I and then slowly you just write each episode. So
- 27:29Speaker 3: I was writing it during post production because all that
- 27:32Speaker 3: has to feel like a continuation and one full story,
- 27:39Speaker 3: which is interesting considering one of the trades. I forget
- 27:42Speaker 3: which one, Clay you might remember, but one of the
- 27:45Speaker 3: trades just listed Mandalorian as twenty nineteen to twenty twenty three,
- 27:53Speaker 3: like it is no longer continuing.
- 28:00Speaker 2: I am looking at that now, because we joked about it.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Even Travis was like, hey, I thought season four was
- 28:07Speaker 2: already written, and again this may just be a simple Hey,
- 28:15Speaker 2: we're not going to confirm anything until we announce it.
- 28:19Speaker 2: You know, we always say nothing's confirmed until it's on
- 28:22Speaker 2: Star Wars dot com.
- 28:26Speaker 1: So we'll see.
- 28:28Speaker 2: It doesn't show which trade is actually the article is from,
- 28:35Speaker 2: but currently we know that Jon Favreau is actually moved
- 28:41Speaker 2: on to a whole new universe of films.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Was that confirmed?
- 28:48Speaker 1: I thought it was confirmed.
- 28:50Speaker 3: I thought it was rumors that he was going to
- 28:52Speaker 3: the Mickey Mouse.
- 28:54Speaker 2: This is from Deadline Oswald The Lucky Rabbit TV series
- 28:58Speaker 2: from John Favreau in works at Disney plus Oh okay, so,
- 29:06Speaker 2: and there's been big rumors on this on how it's
- 29:10Speaker 2: gonna evolve into like Kingdom Hearts and all of this
- 29:13Speaker 2: other stuff, which has gotten a lot of people super excited.
- 29:18Speaker 2: But I mean, I would assume there's been plenty of
- 29:24Speaker 2: time to write a Mando season four doesn't mean he
- 29:30Speaker 2: has to be super involved after that, you know.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say, like I would like him to
- 29:40Speaker 3: stay involved obviously, But you're right. I mean, it's like
- 29:45Speaker 3: Felawe with Clone Wars with Resistance, like, hey, here's the
- 29:50Speaker 3: here's the outline, like fill in the blanks kind of thing.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Yeah, because how many the.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Lightsaber just got here?
- 30:00Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 30:01Speaker 3: Sorry, I just saw us.
- 30:08Speaker 2: So but here here's the thing. Because I always forget
- 30:12Speaker 2: Jon Favreau filmed how many episodes in season one?
- 30:19Speaker 1: Uh? Or well, let me let me.
- 30:23Speaker 2: Ask a simpler question through all three seasons? Has he
- 30:29Speaker 2: has he filmed? Did he film seasons two and three?
- 30:34Speaker 3: I think he directed an episode in season two, but
- 30:37Speaker 3: he didn't direct an episode in season three.
- 30:40Speaker 2: Yeah, so he was heavily more on the on the
- 30:43Speaker 2: writing side. So if that's how this has trickled down.
- 30:48Speaker 2: I feel like, yeah, have him write it. Hopefully he
- 30:52Speaker 2: didn't phone it in, you know, that's the biggest concern
- 30:56Speaker 2: at this point, and then give it to lucasfilm said, Hey,
- 31:01Speaker 2: I have another project that I need to work on.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Here's Season four. Announce it when you can peace out.
- 31:11Speaker 1: At least that's how I see it. Yeah, I mean,
- 31:18Speaker 1: if it works. If it works, I don't know. If
- 31:20Speaker 1: it's there, I don't know.
- 31:22Speaker 4: And but also like again, like I think he's really
- 31:25Speaker 4: good at the idea stuff and like letting other people execute,
- 31:29Speaker 4: which is like what I think Lucas can never really do.
- 31:33Speaker 4: So I'd be okay if that's the route he went, We're.
- 31:37Speaker 3: Gonna go into our second ad break and we'll be
- 31:41Speaker 3: right back.
- 31:42Speaker 1: All right, guys.
- 31:43Speaker 2: So for everybody who is joining us now and or
- 31:47Speaker 2: after on YouTube, Katie is in possession of her Mara
- 31:53Speaker 2: Jade lightsaber that almost immediately stole out. Uh so, yes,
- 32:04Speaker 2: And I am going to have to edit so much
- 32:07Speaker 2: of this because that just rang in my ear.
- 32:11Speaker 3: Sorry. Look, Okay, I don't get like toys very much,
- 32:18Speaker 3: not that well, but I'm just not like a big
- 32:22Speaker 3: collector of things. But when this was announced, it's like.
- 32:27Speaker 2: See, they don't forget your girl. They're just gonna use
- 32:31Speaker 2: it to get your money and then never mention her again.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Three hundred and seventy five dollars with shipping and tax.
- 32:42Speaker 2: But I'm sure you're not getting any.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Birth This is my birthday present that I'm getting in
- 32:46Speaker 3: March to yourself.
- 32:49Speaker 2: You can get presents from other people.
- 32:51Speaker 1: You're fine.
- 32:52Speaker 3: No, my mom gave me my money, and that gave
- 32:54Speaker 3: me my money for my birthday presence.
- 33:00Speaker 1: That'll work. But yeah, you know, I I think that
- 33:04Speaker 1: uh that with Fabreau.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Leaving, as far as just being the writer, I hope
- 33:16Speaker 2: that he and Felony have you know, created such a
- 33:21Speaker 2: structured part.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Of this universe, you know, being the Mando verse that
- 33:30Speaker 1: what is that? Is that a mar Lady number?
- 33:33Speaker 3: A comic that comes with it?
- 33:38Speaker 1: Is it a reprint?
- 33:41Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like they just did. They did like a
- 33:44Speaker 3: special printing for this. I got number twenty six at
- 33:49Speaker 3: a thirty five hundred.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Very nice, very nice, and that is a beautiful hilt.
- 33:59Speaker 1: I'm so.
- 34:01Speaker 3: I did not get a blade. I was too cheap
- 34:03Speaker 3: to get the blade, so I just have to help.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Hey, Hey, the blade can come later without the blade
- 34:10Speaker 2: it's easier to mount if you ever want to mount
- 34:13Speaker 2: it anywhere, just letting you know, Yeah, that's true.
- 34:17Speaker 3: I'm so excited. Like I always looked at like the
- 34:20Speaker 3: Force SX lightsabers and stuff.
- 34:24Speaker 2: But for the longest time I had Saber Forge bookmarks
- 34:31Speaker 2: on my browser and specifically I had the rape Yer
- 34:39Speaker 2: Handguard lightsaber. Yeah, and I was like, I'm going to
- 34:45Speaker 2: get it one of these days, I'm going to get it.
- 34:47Speaker 2: And then they sold out and they haven't brought it
- 34:49Speaker 2: back since. So very sad day. But with that, that
- 34:56Speaker 2: is the last of the men Know news. The next
- 35:05Speaker 2: thing on our list for news, and I believe it's
- 35:07Speaker 2: the last, would be this conversation with Tony Gilroy with Collider. So, Katie,
- 35:19Speaker 2: you wanna.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Jump on this one?
- 35:23Speaker 3: Yes, So he talks, So I'm not gonna like, I'm
- 35:29Speaker 3: gonna hit the high points of this interview, which it
- 35:32Speaker 3: was an interview with Collider. Maggie is a great journalist.
- 35:37Speaker 3: I love what she does. So, uh, Clay, I'm gonna
- 35:41Speaker 3: make you link this in the description box below so
- 35:43Speaker 3: people can go check it out directly, because always it's
- 35:47Speaker 3: a long interview people. But the biggest things that he
- 35:53Speaker 3: talks about is for Roguelin in particular because we are
- 35:58Speaker 3: headed obviously to Rogue one with the twelve episodes of
- 36:02Speaker 3: and Or that are upcoming, and he wants to make
- 36:07Speaker 3: sure that as we go to Rogue one, that people
- 36:10Speaker 3: from Rogue one appear in and Or organically, so it's
- 36:13Speaker 3: not just shoved in cameos and stuff like Melschie for instance.
- 36:18Speaker 3: He wanted that to feel super organic in. Anybody else
- 36:22Speaker 3: who's going to make an appearance in and Or will
- 36:24Speaker 3: have to be done super organically so it's not detracting
- 36:29Speaker 3: from the overall story. The other thing that I found
- 36:33Speaker 3: interesting is the Gorman Massacre. The special preview for and
- 36:39Speaker 3: Or on Disney Plus did confirm we're going to Gorman
- 36:44Speaker 3: in the subtitles and everything, but the Gorman massacre is
- 36:49Speaker 3: actually going to play out over five episodes in and Or.
- 36:53Speaker 3: So how do y'all think that's going to play in?
- 36:55Speaker 3: When we know, hey, we're doing three episodes then skipping
- 36:59Speaker 3: to next year.
- 37:01Speaker 4: We shouldn't have known that at all. We shouldn't have
- 37:04Speaker 4: known that at all. It's so silly. I think for me, like,
- 37:08Speaker 4: we didn't need that second teaser at all. I think
- 37:11Speaker 4: that second teaser really like gave away too much, man,
- 37:14Speaker 4: Like if you shouldn't need to be excited that a
- 37:17Speaker 4: bunch of people are gonna get massacred, like over five
- 37:19Speaker 4: episodes to want to go see this, I shouldn't be like,
- 37:22Speaker 4: why we're c to this and I know that whatever,
- 37:25Speaker 4: Like everyone's really excited for tarking to smash a bunch
- 37:27Speaker 4: of people with a star destroyer, Like I'm not saying,
- 37:30Speaker 4: like I don't need atrocities to know that the Empire
- 37:33Speaker 4: is bad.
- 37:33Speaker 1: And I think that's like my.
- 37:35Speaker 6: The more time goes on, the more and or falls
- 37:38Speaker 6: on my list because I just don't understand why we
- 37:41Speaker 6: are still not clazing, but like we're putting this And
- 37:46Speaker 6: I really loved.
- 37:47Speaker 4: The interview with Maggie for sure, but I just think that,
- 37:49Speaker 4: like we we're just doing too much. And we went
- 37:52Speaker 4: from like no trailers, nothing talking about and or to
- 37:55Speaker 4: like them giving us multiple teasers, multiple things, giving away
- 37:59Speaker 4: like one of the biggest things in in the Galactic
- 38:05Speaker 4: Civil War, why yeah, play out organically, Like you're saying like,
- 38:10Speaker 4: if you want something to be organic, say hey, and
- 38:13Speaker 4: or season two come get it, you shouldn't have to
- 38:15Speaker 4: do anything more than that.
- 38:16Speaker 1: And I just wish that I just wish that we
- 38:19Speaker 1: didn't know about it. I wish we didn't about it.
- 38:20Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think everybody, let's be honest, everybody and
- 38:25Speaker 3: their mother who's big Star Wars people knew the Gorman
- 38:28Speaker 3: massacre was counting because of rebels and everything. But say,
- 38:33Speaker 3: like the direct quote from Gilroy is like Gorman is
- 38:41Speaker 3: like really unannounced or it's not described, not unannounced, and
- 38:49Speaker 3: so he said, quite honestly, it's very expensive to build,
- 38:53Speaker 3: so we really want to use it as much as possible,
- 38:56Speaker 3: so it carries over five different episodes. So like, Okay,
- 39:01Speaker 3: why was that necessary? Like that's not like sure like
- 39:05Speaker 3: talk about how the set, but like Disney already wants
- 39:09Speaker 3: you to be economical. We believe that you're being as
- 39:12Speaker 3: economical as it's.
- 39:14Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like if if we're in Revenge of the
- 39:17Speaker 4: Sith and someone's like they're going to do Order sixty
- 39:20Speaker 4: six and then like you hype up Order sixty six
- 39:22Speaker 4: for like a month before like the movie comes out,
- 39:25Speaker 4: Like yeah, just waited, like you give just wait one month,
- 39:28Speaker 4: wait one month, and then let us just all experience
- 39:31Speaker 4: that as organically as you want us to in the story. Yeah,
- 39:39Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't know Tony. I don't know Tony.
- 39:42Speaker 3: Well. He did also talk about the release schedule of
- 39:45Speaker 3: the three episodes a week.
- 39:48Speaker 1: And magne, I just feel about that. I'm not I'm
- 39:50Speaker 1: not down. I think that's I don't like it decision.
- 39:53Speaker 2: I think, well, it's getting harder and harder for me
- 39:57Speaker 2: to schedule my time around these things.
- 40:00Speaker 1: I like the idea of a movie a week. A
- 40:04Speaker 1: movie a week sounds.
- 40:05Speaker 4: Great, but that's that's the pr thing. I swear that
- 40:10Speaker 4: it was like a pr answer, like, oh, I'll just
- 40:12Speaker 4: think of it as a movie a week now. No,
- 40:13Speaker 4: I can think about it as committing an hour and
- 40:16Speaker 4: a half instead of forty five minutes of my week
- 40:19Speaker 4: to doing this.
- 40:20Speaker 1: And I think that there's.
- 40:21Speaker 3: An hour at least.
- 40:24Speaker 1: And then how are we supposed to talk about it? Right? Like,
- 40:26Speaker 1: I don't think like it's going to be talked about
- 40:27Speaker 1: as much.
- 40:28Speaker 4: It's gonna go like this, We're gonna be done with
- 40:30Speaker 4: it so quickly, And it feels like it's a discredit,
- 40:32Speaker 4: like if and Or is that good?
- 40:34Speaker 1: If we love and Or that much, we shouldn't be
- 40:36Speaker 1: rushing through it.
- 40:37Speaker 4: If it's if it's that big a deal, I think,
- 40:39Speaker 4: because if we're doing this for five episodes, imagine doing
- 40:42Speaker 4: this this because that's like Game of Thrones level battle stuff, right,
- 40:45Speaker 4: and you're gonna stretch it, like, let's stretch it over weeks,
- 40:48Speaker 4: like really make.
- 40:49Speaker 1: Us feel it? Not Yeah, And I know, and it's not.
- 40:52Speaker 4: His and he didn't decide that, right, it's a Disney decision.
- 40:54Speaker 4: I'm pretty sure if he had his way, this would
- 40:57Speaker 4: be five seasons. I'm sure if he had his way, right,
- 40:59Speaker 4: So I think he's just trying to like spin it
- 41:01Speaker 4: to kind of like what's like the best way out
- 41:03Speaker 4: of it?
- 41:04Speaker 2: And I don't know, And you know, I don't know
- 41:08Speaker 2: what is going on in Disney's head. Because of the
- 41:14Speaker 2: reaction to and Or season one, there was a huge
- 41:20Speaker 2: fuss about how nobody's talking about and Or why isn't
- 41:24Speaker 2: anybody talking about and Or? Hey, let's move this to
- 41:27Speaker 2: FX for you know, the next three months and see
- 41:32Speaker 2: if people will watch and Or and then now you're
- 41:35Speaker 2: scrunching it up into a blink of an eye and
- 41:38Speaker 2: expect people to talk about and Or for months like that.
- 41:42Speaker 1: People to get it.
- 41:43Speaker 4: I think more than anything, like are people gonna sit
- 41:46Speaker 4: there and like think about it, right, Like, imagine if
- 41:51Speaker 4: the Daughter of Pharynx episode happened after we watched like
- 41:53Speaker 4: two other episodes, right, and we didn't like sit there
- 41:56Speaker 4: with I don't know, I just don't like it.
- 41:58Speaker 1: I don't like it.
- 41:59Speaker 4: I think it's annoying, especially and especially because we don't
- 42:02Speaker 4: get act like season two, and like this is the decision,
- 42:06Speaker 4: the decision making of how they're releasing these shows. And
- 42:09Speaker 4: if it's a thing like where they're just like trying
- 42:11Speaker 4: to get out of this stuff where they're not they
- 42:12Speaker 4: don't want to do TV shows no more, that's fine,
- 42:15Speaker 4: then like let us go out with a bang, you know,
- 42:18Speaker 4: let us let us go out talking about it, because
- 42:20Speaker 4: you know damn well that your media team loves interacting
- 42:24Speaker 4: with people, and you're giving people less opportunities to interact
- 42:28Speaker 4: with Star Wars stuff. Because's not like we have any
- 42:31Speaker 4: movies to look forward to. What else are we looking
- 42:33Speaker 4: forward to? We have nothing else going on right now, Like.
- 42:35Speaker 3: Don't have movies. The only things that we know of
- 42:39Speaker 3: that are coming this year are and our season two
- 42:42Speaker 3: and The Vision's Volume three. There's literally nothing else.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, start, We're going to be starved like and
- 42:51Speaker 2: and especially.
- 42:52Speaker 3: With higher public ending. I know that doesn't relate to
- 42:55Speaker 3: the TV.
- 42:56Speaker 2: But Kadie, we have said it plenty of times. We've said,
- 43:00Speaker 2: oh well, us book people won't be that starved. But like,
- 43:06Speaker 2: if you take all of the Star Wars fandom and say, hey,
- 43:10Speaker 2: who's reading the High Republic, there's gonna be seventy five
- 43:14Speaker 2: percent of that entire fandom. That's like the what mm hmm,
- 43:18Speaker 2: Like it's like, so people aren't going to be super
- 43:23Speaker 2: hyped about these other mediums. You have the one medium
- 43:28Speaker 2: that people are really gravitating towards, and you're cutting it short,
- 43:32Speaker 2: you're cutting it by it's at the knees. And I
- 43:35Speaker 2: don't like that at all. And I know that, like,
- 43:39Speaker 2: of course, there's gonna be the idea of oh, well,
- 43:43Speaker 2: you know, celebrations right there, so like you have all
- 43:48Speaker 2: of you have and Or and Celebration to talk about,
- 43:51Speaker 2: and all of that news is going to hit and
- 43:53Speaker 2: da da dah.
- 43:55Speaker 1: But I just don't feel it. I don't feel it.
- 43:59Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that's like the biggest thing. And I know
- 44:04Speaker 3: it's not his fault. I think he's put his heart
- 44:07Speaker 3: and soul into and Or, and I just.
- 44:11Speaker 4: Wish less than a month. Yeah, it's how long. It's
- 44:15Speaker 4: going to be around less than a month. That's that's crazy.
- 44:18Speaker 4: That's crazy, all this build up, all of this stuff
- 44:20Speaker 4: to be done in less than a month, and for it,
- 44:22Speaker 4: and I think.
- 44:23Speaker 1: Again, I bring back the Acolyte thing.
- 44:25Speaker 4: I have to like listen to everybody's sake, and Or's better,
- 44:27Speaker 4: and Andwar's the best thing ever, Andor's the best thing ever,
- 44:29Speaker 4: ANDWDS the best thing ever. Andre's the best thing ever.
- 44:31Speaker 4: And it's going to be around shorter than Skeleton Crew
- 44:35Speaker 4: and The Acolyte were or any of the other shows were.
- 44:39Speaker 3: And we talked about it the last time we were
- 44:41Speaker 3: live about how the twenty twenty six Emmy cutoff is
- 44:45Speaker 3: May thirty first, So bruh in a sense it makes sense,
- 44:51Speaker 3: but also why is that cut off that early for
- 44:54Speaker 3: the twenty twenty six.
- 44:55Speaker 4: In mace like also like just to start your thing
- 45:00Speaker 4: earlier then, man, Like there's so other, like many other
- 45:02Speaker 4: ways for you to do this. It's your it's your company,
- 45:05Speaker 4: it's your stuff. You can release it right now. They
- 45:07Speaker 4: can put it out right now if they wanted to.
- 45:09Speaker 4: There's nothing snapping never putting it out right Now.
- 45:12Speaker 2: It's the really silly thing that I think Disney Plus
- 45:15Speaker 2: is doing with their platform.
- 45:18Speaker 1: You look at I mean, the the godfather of streaming. Netflix.
- 45:25Speaker 2: Everybody's trying to be Netflix, but they're.
- 45:27Speaker 1: Refusing to be like Netflix.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Netflix drops shows like crazy. They don't say, oh, this
- 45:33Speaker 2: show goes first, Okay, this show goes next. Oh we
- 45:36Speaker 2: can't do that one. Let's let's throw this. Oh there's
- 45:38Speaker 2: a new movie, but this one has to go first. Okay, Like, no,
- 45:42Speaker 2: throw out your content. It will gravitate to anybody who
- 45:47Speaker 2: wants to grab that content.
- 45:49Speaker 1: Yeah, it just will.
- 45:51Speaker 3: And we're about to jump into our third ad, y'all.
- 45:55Speaker 3: We promise will be right back. We promise it absolutely will.
- 46:01Speaker 3: It doesn't make sense to me, and I know, like
- 46:04Speaker 3: we're seeing like Disney go, okay, we need to get
- 46:06Speaker 3: back into movies. Oh we need to drop streaming like Alo.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Putting the first three episodes and or on YouTube then
- 46:13Speaker 1: like this.
- 46:13Speaker 3: Week doesn't make sense.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Wait, they're putting it on YouTube?
- 46:19Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, they put season one on YouTube?
- 46:23Speaker 1: Right? Did I see that?
- 46:24Speaker 3: They put the first three episodes on YouTube and then
- 46:28Speaker 3: they did a fourteen minute summary on Andrew season one,
- 46:34Speaker 3: Like that's wild so yeah, it's it's just weird.
- 46:41Speaker 1: I'm excited. I'm I'm sure gonna love it, but I'm so.
- 46:45Speaker 4: People who love that movie and glaze that movie so
- 46:47Speaker 4: hard maybe not like it anymore. I think, hmm, or
- 46:50Speaker 4: like that show selling Scars Guards speech is overrated by
- 46:54Speaker 4: the way too.
- 46:56Speaker 1: I solved your post on.
- 46:59Speaker 2: That at I love the the SpongeBob.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Gift that you use for that, and.
- 47:08Speaker 2: I'll admit I'll admit no, we talked about it. We
- 47:11Speaker 2: really enjoyed it. We see all the time people gassing
- 47:16Speaker 2: up the speech to see it was a little jaw
- 47:20Speaker 2: dropping because I was not expecting it. When you were like,
- 47:24Speaker 2: hot take, I was like, oh, Dale.
- 47:27Speaker 4: Yeah, hot take. That dude giving that speech to some
- 47:29Speaker 4: underling no one cares about. Isn't a good speech. That
- 47:32Speaker 4: is him stroking himself. It's stupid and I hate it
- 47:35Speaker 4: and I hate that we have to glaze it so much,
- 47:38Speaker 4: like there's so many other speeches. Nemic's manifesto, World's better
- 47:43Speaker 4: even though she didn't say fuck the Empire, you know
- 47:45Speaker 4: that speech world's better, ye, Prision speech World's better than
- 47:50Speaker 4: the fucking stone Scars card. And then in the corner, like
- 47:55Speaker 4: all my hard work is fuck you. It's like, rich asshole,
- 48:00Speaker 4: you're ready to see him die and I can't wait.
- 48:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna be so excited.
- 48:04Speaker 4: I'm so excited and I can't wait, dude.
- 48:08Speaker 1: Get him out here. Man.
- 48:09Speaker 4: And maybe it's Thunds like brown, maybe I'm just brown,
- 48:12Speaker 4: but I'm just so tired of like watching people glaze
- 48:14Speaker 4: this dude. I'm like, look, if this was in our world,
- 48:16Speaker 4: who would he be? He would be some fucking rich
- 48:19Speaker 4: white politician going boo, who I have to do all
- 48:22Speaker 4: this stuff while they're in their their privilege, while.
- 48:25Speaker 1: We're doing stuff.
- 48:26Speaker 4: I mean ye, then these canna talk to me about
- 48:28Speaker 4: his sacrifice as a privileged dude chilling out in the
- 48:33Speaker 4: sentence and not all the funk off off, my guy,
- 48:37Speaker 4: You're not that cool.
- 48:38Speaker 1: And this is why we love the Mere Alliance.
- 48:44Speaker 2: This is why we love every single time we have
- 48:47Speaker 2: a guest on Star Wars Alliance.
- 48:49Speaker 1: They give the best hot takes. I love it. I
- 48:51Speaker 1: always love it.
- 48:53Speaker 2: The controversy is here and I love it well.
- 48:58Speaker 3: The last bit of news that we yet have is
- 49:03Speaker 3: so once upon a galaxy. I have no idea who
- 49:07Speaker 3: this person is, but they have found a link to
- 49:12Speaker 3: a Force Awakens tenth anniversary tie in young adult novel
- 49:17Speaker 3: that is yet to be announced, but it looks like
- 49:23Speaker 3: it is by Kwam Mabali. I probably didn't pronounce that, right,
- 49:27Speaker 3: I do apologize, but that's my best guess. But I
- 49:34Speaker 3: would imagine this is by Disney Lucasfilm, So I would
- 49:37Speaker 3: imagine this will be announced at a celebration Officiallyian.
- 49:46Speaker 1: Novel the way that like everyone did.
- 49:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like it got a couple like the
- 49:58Speaker 3: legend of Luke's. I want to s it was.
- 50:01Speaker 1: Less Jedi, wasn't it?
- 50:03Speaker 4: Was it?
- 50:05Speaker 1: I think?
- 50:05Speaker 2: So?
- 50:07Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that says Journey to the Last Jedi. It
- 50:20Speaker 3: wouldn't been airing the Empire.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think it has one. I'm trying to
- 50:24Speaker 1: like think and.
- 50:26Speaker 4: Because you do like the Journey too, right, it is
- 50:28Speaker 4: usually like yeah, after Math, I mean after maths probably
- 50:32Speaker 4: like the closest thing.
- 50:35Speaker 1: I wouldn't recommend.
- 50:37Speaker 3: I know it had several, like we.
- 50:39Speaker 1: Just reviewed all three of them.
- 50:42Speaker 4: Look, man, I like Kevin Wexley, but like the It's
- 50:45Speaker 4: there's some other stuff I don't like, you know.
- 50:49Speaker 3: So I think the only thing they really had was
- 50:52Speaker 3: potentially after Math and then several like middle grade like
- 50:57Speaker 3: young reader books, so like nothing like major big.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Bloodline.
- 51:05Speaker 3: I guess technically bloodline I would count.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Ploe is pretty close. Which one was bloodline?
- 51:12Speaker 3: You haven't read Bloodline.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Clay, sir, stop it doing right now. Go read that
- 51:17Speaker 1: beautiful book by Claudia Gray.
- 51:19Speaker 3: It's on the list.
- 51:20Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, very good, very very good. Oh it's this one. Okay, yes, yes, yes,
- 51:25Speaker 1: I reckon.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Okay, So this does say after Math, Lost Stars several
- 51:35Speaker 3: junior novels, short stories. Yeah, so after Math and Lost
- 51:41Speaker 3: Stars are really the only ones. Bloodline was the Last
- 51:45Speaker 3: Jedi because Ryan Johnson consultant on that book, I think,
- 51:55Speaker 3: no Bloodline is not mentioned in the Wikipedia article for
- 52:00Speaker 3: or Last Jedi FAsMA Canto Bite Leah Princess of Walder
- 52:04Speaker 3: on legendser.
- 52:07Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, so anyway, yeah, but yeah, So what I
- 52:10Speaker 4: was trying, I was trying to think really hard. I
- 52:12Speaker 4: love The Force Awakens, and I feel like I've read
- 52:13Speaker 4: everything that leads up to that, and I don't. I
- 52:15Speaker 4: couldn't think of tailing novel the way that like the
- 52:18Speaker 4: Legends of Luke Skywalker was like a tailing novel, you
- 52:20Speaker 4: know what I mean. So I'm I'm s sign me up.
- 52:23Speaker 4: I will go get if they have they're selling it there,
- 52:25Speaker 4: I'll get y'all copies.
- 52:27Speaker 3: Knowing Disney probably they'll probably announce it and then have
- 52:32Speaker 3: it on sale. So yes, would appreciate copies.
- 52:38Speaker 2: Yes, finally, No, like seriously, there has been like three times.
- 52:42Speaker 2: There has been three times where Star Wars has announced
- 52:45Speaker 2: like a book or something and we've had we've we've
- 52:49Speaker 2: known somebody that's gonna be at a convention, and like
- 52:52Speaker 2: they never follow through, and I'm just like, dang it.
- 52:55Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Katie book last time. Yeah right, yeah,
- 52:58Speaker 1: that is right. Yea, that's that's right.
- 53:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and Georgie sent us one too, because she sent
- 53:04Speaker 3: us the they sent us the uh the Inquisitor, Rise
- 53:10Speaker 3: of the Red Blade.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Oh yep, yep, that is true. Yep, I forgot about
- 53:15Speaker 2: that one.
- 53:16Speaker 3: But yeah recently, that's right. All right. So, speaking of
- 53:24Speaker 3: Star Wars books, Clay, it is.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Time I have read thron for my first time. Uh
- 53:35Speaker 1: so I texted you this, Katie. I hate how much
- 53:39Speaker 1: I like this book.
- 53:41Speaker 2: I hate it, Adrian, I have a despising hate for
- 53:50Speaker 2: thrown mainly through the Legends books.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Oh okay, I was gonna say these ones. Okay, okay.
- 53:58Speaker 2: When when we were reviewing the Legends books, specifically the
- 54:05Speaker 2: Legends Throng trilogy, I despised him, and I think more.
- 54:11Speaker 1: So because I was like, this.
- 54:14Speaker 2: Fool is treated and written like a god, and I
- 54:20Speaker 2: hate it. This dude is like writing himself into this novel,
- 54:25Speaker 2: knowing everything before even Luke and Leah and Han like,
- 54:31Speaker 2: I hate how precise he is, like months in advance.
- 54:37Speaker 2: I hate it. I hate it. I hate it. They
- 54:40Speaker 2: broke it down in this book. You were in his
- 54:45Speaker 2: brain in this book.
- 54:47Speaker 1: Did you read or did you audio? Book? I I audio?
- 54:51Speaker 1: But it was so good. It was so good. This
- 54:56Speaker 1: was great.
- 54:57Speaker 2: I like the way the audio changes with the reverb
- 55:02Speaker 2: when he is like thinking, and oh as soon as
- 55:09Speaker 2: soon as he did that, like the very first time,
- 55:13Speaker 2: I was like, son of a Bitch.
- 55:15Speaker 1: Yeah, I like this book. Son of a Bitch. And
- 55:20Speaker 1: all of them are just just the first one.
- 55:22Speaker 2: We're doing the first one now, we're going to do
- 55:24Speaker 2: the other two at a later date. Uh, And we're
- 55:28Speaker 2: going to compile the last pieces of these episodes and
- 55:32Speaker 2: make it into one throng review. Because Katie has done
- 55:37Speaker 2: these like a thousand times over the this book, so
- 55:43Speaker 2: so I haven't been able to put it out there
- 55:46Speaker 2: in the ethos.
- 55:47Speaker 1: So we're going to combine all these episodes.
- 55:49Speaker 2: When we're going to talk about them and uh and
- 55:51Speaker 2: make it into one episode.
- 55:53Speaker 1: But yeah, I I hate how much I like this book.
- 55:59Speaker 1: It was so good.
- 56:00Speaker 3: See, I think I think we talked about this with
- 56:04Speaker 3: Air to the Empire is that you're getting the Republic's
- 56:09Speaker 3: viewpoint of Thron very few times in Air to the
- 56:12Speaker 3: Empire trilogy, are you getting Thron's perspective? Yeap, And so
- 56:17Speaker 3: for this you're getting his perspective or you're getting Vanto's perspective.
- 56:22Speaker 3: We can leave a Rinda Price in a dark, dark
- 56:25Speaker 3: corner like, so you're getting the close knit perspectives on Thron,
- 56:34Speaker 3: which is helping you understand how he thinks and how
- 56:37Speaker 3: he approaches things. Yeah, and for me, I liked it.
- 56:42Speaker 3: I liked this because it feels almost like a compliment
- 56:46Speaker 3: to Air to the Empire, Like you could take this
- 56:49Speaker 3: trilogy realistically and put it with Air to the Empire
- 56:52Speaker 3: and it still works. And that's why Zhon wanted to
- 56:55Speaker 3: write this in the way that he did, so that
- 56:58Speaker 3: way he wasn't covering the same territory twice with Ron.
- 57:03Speaker 3: I think that's a very important perspective that not a
- 57:06Speaker 3: lot of people have understood with him taking this book
- 57:11Speaker 3: and doing it in this way.
- 57:13Speaker 2: So and I think that's one of the main things,
- 57:18Speaker 2: Like you said, the perspective of this book, I was
- 57:22Speaker 2: getting it, like you said, through the Republic, like the
- 57:27Speaker 2: I was supposed to hate him, I was supposed to
- 57:29Speaker 2: despise him. I'm they Zohn wrote it in a way
- 57:32Speaker 2: that I was very frustrated with his character being around
- 57:37Speaker 2: every corner, stopping Luke and Han and just super frustrated.
- 57:43Speaker 2: Here he was the protagonist.
- 57:47Speaker 1: He was the one you were rooting for. Oh yeah,
- 57:51Speaker 1: that doesn't go away either.
- 57:53Speaker 7: No, it doesn't get worse in the next two And
- 57:58Speaker 7: like I was just like okay, and and the racism,
- 58:03Speaker 7: I was just like God, like.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Oh man, like it was everywhere man.
- 58:10Speaker 2: And I was just like, they're gonna make me like Thron,
- 58:13Speaker 2: I hate this book.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Why would you do this?
- 58:17Speaker 2: I was so like, if you go back and listen
- 58:20Speaker 2: to these episodes, Agrian, I was, I was like, this
- 58:24Speaker 2: book is stupid. I like, I I could appreciate like
- 58:28Speaker 2: the legends, you know, the whole thing about it. I appreciate,
- 58:33Speaker 2: you know, Luke and Leah and han I, I appreciate
- 58:37Speaker 2: all that, but Thron is stupid. He shouldn't be written
- 58:39Speaker 2: like this. He's basically stealing the pin from Zoon himself
- 58:43Speaker 2: and writing it to where he wins everything, and I
- 58:45Speaker 2: hate it.
- 58:46Speaker 1: And here to get to alliances. It's gonna be so good.
- 58:51Speaker 3: It's gonna be so good, Adrian, We're doing that in
- 58:54Speaker 3: two weeks's.
- 58:57Speaker 4: And then you're gonna go watch it and you're gonna
- 58:58Speaker 4: watch a Soka again and you're gonna be like, oh,
- 59:01Speaker 4: this is why he's he's he's freaking Sherlock Holmes.
- 59:07Speaker 2: In this freaking book, like and I was like, shit,
- 59:11Speaker 2: I actually really like this, and then and then can
- 59:15Speaker 2: end okay, when like, I also really appreciate uh Eli because.
- 59:24Speaker 3: Eli where where is mantal?
- 59:28Speaker 1: Eli is the reader.
- 59:30Speaker 2: He's like, Okay, I don't know if I should like you,
- 59:34Speaker 2: but okay, I'm actually a little frustrated because you're like
- 59:37Speaker 2: putting me down and not like now I'm forced to
- 59:40Speaker 2: like stay with you. When my horizons were like all
- 59:43Speaker 2: right there and I could have done so many different
- 59:46Speaker 2: things with my life and now I'm stuck with you.
- 59:48Speaker 1: And then like he starts to.
- 59:51Speaker 2: Think like Thron, and I think that's what I hate
- 59:55Speaker 2: more than anything, is me. The person who hates Thron
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: is actually liking the fact that Thron taught somebody m
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: hm to be great commander. This dude like his a strategist.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Like it's it's insane.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: But at the very end, when they find out who
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: is oh uh is it?
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: Is it night Wolf for night Watch or what?
- 1:00:27Speaker 3: What?
- 1:00:29Speaker 6: What?
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: Was it? Nice One? Yes?
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: When Eli realizes who nice One is and they start
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: talking like even Eli is like it's clicking for him.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: Finally he's like, oh ship, hold on a second, Thron
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: played all of us mm hmm, like when when it
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: started to connect, even the smaller pieces of the very
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: beginning were and that was what That's why I was confused.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: And this should be our final ad break. So y'all,
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: thanks for bearing with us. We appreciate y'all. We'll be
- 1:01:06Speaker 3: right back.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: I open this book and I start listening to it.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: I start reading it, and I'm like, Thron isn't a
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: part of the empire right now?
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: What is this?
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: He's wait, he's he's a Are.
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: They are they capturing it, what's going like, I was
- 1:01:30Speaker 4: so confused. I was so confused at the beginning of
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: this novel.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: And then how long.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: Is cover to cover? Like time span of this book
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: do we know?
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: Question?
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: According to the Wikipedia it's twenty five fifteen bby two
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: two bby.
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, so there's there's some time. But like he
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: moves up the ranks so quickly as an alien.
- 1:02:04Speaker 4: I don't think like like Palpatine promotes this dude personally,
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: and Palpatine hates every alien species alive. Yeah, he would
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: kill them all if he could. That's how impressive he was.
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: Either or that's how scared of him he was. Yeah,
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: he's keep this too close.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: At the very end, at the very end, when Throun
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: just like is like, hey, I'm gonna call your bluff
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: right now. I have this hand and he's like, so
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: what's the death Star? I was like, oh shit, yeah.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: And the fact then you're gonna hate then you're just
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: gonna hate Tart, You're you're gonna hate every other grand
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: moth more. The more you get to know this version
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: of Thron, Yeah, wells gonna be more of an asshole.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: Well that was like we.
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: We see these small little moments with Parkin, and you know,
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: that's where Price, you know, really comes into play because
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: like Price, I immediately I immediately recognized the name because
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: of Rebels, and I was like, okay, so how is
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: this going to play out?
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: And the way she.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: Just like weasels her way into that position, I'm just like,
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: Clay, you did better than me because I read this
- 1:03:29Speaker 3: book before I watched Rebels.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Okay, So that's why.
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: I can't stand a random because I'm like, this is
- 1:03:38Speaker 3: a tritagonist book, and really it needed to be the
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: dual protagonist with Eli at Thron Like I did not
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: like having a Renda's perspective in this book.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: It because this was my first duel. It helped everything
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: go full circle mm hmm. But I still when you
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: see the trilogy of characters, this is still an Eli
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: Throng book for sure. And like I kind of because
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: I recognized her immediately, I unfortunately didn't really have any
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: like worry for her character in the spots where I
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: was like, like, like she gets jumped in the in
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: the in the bottom levels, of course, I'm like, nothing's
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: gonna happen her.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: She's fine.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: And then like near the end when she's like trying
- 1:04:36Speaker 2: to save her family and stuff like, oh, you know,
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: she's probably gonna take the gun and shoot the dude,
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: and that's exactly what happened.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: I'm just like, yeah, whatever.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: See I was rooting for her to die both times.
- 1:04:47Speaker 2: But see Eli, I don't recognize that name, and I like,
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: I don't know who this character is, and so like
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: I was rooting for him, and I was like, okay,
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: all are like what, like, you're good, you gotta get promoted,
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: like if Thron's really a good friend, which oddly enough
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: it kind of.
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: Feels like he is, which is really weird to think.
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: About, and like he finally gets promoted, and like you said,
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: he's he's.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: A good strategist, he's a good commander.
- 1:05:20Speaker 2: He's he's teaching, and he's giving.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: Eli the patience.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: That's more surprising than me knowing who Thron is in
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: the future. He's giving Eli the patience, Like oh look again, hey,
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: what do you see?
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: This is definitely a tale of two perspectives on Thorn's character,
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: because do you see why people are like, yeah, that's
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: not Thron in Rebels is like that Thron is not
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: He's impatient, he doesn't teach, but like this Thron that
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: you get in the book, he wants other people to
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: learn and grasp what he's doing.
- 1:05:59Speaker 2: So here's the question, No, do we see in the
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: next two books do we see Thron devolve to who
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: he is in Rebels?
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: I don't think so, because so this book leads up
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: to what is it season two where he goes to Lothal,
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: and so then he you basically get season two of
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: Rebels and then you get Thrown Alliances or no, it's
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: actually season three of Rebels because he's only in two seasons.
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: So this book, remember Rinda's like, I have rebel activity,
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: but we're talking we're.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: Gonna get thrown after Rebels too, like time.
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: No, so here's what. So this leads into season three
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: of Rebels, and then after season three of Rebels, you
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: have thrown Alliances, and then that leads into season four
- 1:06:53Speaker 3: of Rebels, and when Thron takes his break in season
- 1:06:58Speaker 3: four of Rebels where he leaves for like four or
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: five episodes or whatever, there's Throng treason.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Oh okay, so.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: Everything is kind of pulling out. So this was like
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: your prequel to Rebels season three, okay, and then everything
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: else is taking place between Rebel season three and season four,
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: and then during season four.
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: As long as we don't see the de evolution of
- 1:07:31Speaker 2: Thron into who he was in Rebels and who he
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: is in Legends, I'm good this is Throng. I'm okay
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: with saying this is I like Thron. If this is Thron, but.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: Like Rebels, I think this is throwing to Thron and
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: Rebels especially. I think in moments like when with Hara
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: Sindula more than yeah, I can be when he's dealing
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: with people who aren't fucking price, you know, stupid subordinates,
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: I think he gets back into that.
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: He does. I don't think he's been challenged by the
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: time we get do you see.
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: Him in Rebels, I don't think he's been challenged, yeah,
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: by anybody, So I think that he's I think that's
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: why Sosaka is such an interesting thing for him to
- 1:08:11Speaker 4: battle against in the Ahsoka shows, because he hasn't been
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: tested like that since you know, Canaan and Crew. And
- 1:08:19Speaker 4: I think that's why Canaan and Crew caught him off
- 1:08:21Speaker 4: guard so much as that he wasn't ready for He
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: really did think that they were just like stupid little
- 1:08:25Speaker 4: bugs that he was going to smack out and it
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: just didn't happen that way. So I think he just
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: got he got into it too late, back into his uh,
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: his grindy his grindy face, because he's seen some he's
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: seen some stuff. You're gonna see a lot of this
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: man has seen some stuff. Yeah, there's a reason why he.
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: Like when when he like mentions like he because he
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: like brushes it off kind of just like offhand comment.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: He's like, oh, yeah, you know Commander Skywalker and everybody's like,
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: what who what are you talking about?
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: Was like and I was like, what do you mean?
- 1:09:03Speaker 2: Like in his obsession with the Clone Wars, like there
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: was so many like little things like there, and I'm like, there's.
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: This masterfully he crafted, Like.
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: There's there's gotta be more to this, and so if
- 1:09:20Speaker 2: I get more of that, like I'm more excited.
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: I'm excited for alliances. Honestly, I will say, I used my.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: Credit, so I'm gonna have to get more credits on Audible,
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: But I think this will be worth it because local
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: library man.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: That is also true.
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: That is also true, And I'll I'll be the first
- 1:09:43Speaker 2: to admit I am looking at the camera to all
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: of you, and I'm talking into the microphone.
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: You've seen my hate for Throng.
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: This book makes me want to buy it, Like I
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: I will go out of my way to.
- 1:09:58Speaker 1: Buy this book.
- 1:10:00Speaker 4: You're gonna like Thrown Alliances even working Thrown Alliance is
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: the best one in the series.
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: I think that's exciting.
- 1:10:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I'm excited.
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: We're covering Flashback. It's gonna be so good.
- 1:10:11Speaker 3: Dude, We're covering Thrown Alliances in two weeks, so just
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: be prepared for that.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: You got time listening now?
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: Yeah? All right, Well, I think that about does us
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: for the day. Guys, anything else to talk about?
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: I don't think so. A lot of pat What are.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: You doing nowadays? Let the lovely listeners know where they
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: can find you. What kind of content you're pushing out
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: these days, all the works.
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I'm going to be at GDC next
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: week in SF doing a whole bunch of game reviews
- 1:10:52Speaker 4: and stuff.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: As always.
- 1:10:53Speaker 4: You can find like my primary writing on but why
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: They're dot net, and then any of like my video
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: content on like Instagram and stuff.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Star Wars related stuff.
- 1:11:01Speaker 4: I did put out an article of five Star Wars
- 1:11:04Speaker 4: games that I want to see happen in different genres,
- 1:11:06Speaker 4: so that aren't just like spot pod racing, you know,
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: like a dating.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: Site, am goor game mind that article and read it tonight.
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: Agean, Yeah, so lots of lots stuff like that. I'm
- 1:11:19Speaker 4: just trying to get ready for Star Wars celebration and
- 1:11:21Speaker 4: I'm hoping that, you know, we can see some more
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: things come out, but Star Wars wise, that's that's the latest.
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: One, all right.
- 1:11:31Speaker 2: Yes, of course you can always find me at Fanboy
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: clay over on Blue Sky and surprisingly I have found
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: my way into book talk and books to Graham and
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: I think I'm actually going to be posting my first
- 1:11:52Speaker 2: book talk video and it's a request. So if anybody's
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: listening to this and I would like to actually give
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: me some good recommendations and answers, I'm gonna be making
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: a video quite possibly tomorrow requesting recommendations. I always see
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: this all the time on Instagram and on TikTok. People
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: were like, oh, if you like this, you should read this.
- 1:12:21Speaker 2: I'm going to do the opposite and I'm gonna say, hey,
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: I like this, what should I read?
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: And so I have.
- 1:12:29Speaker 2: The first one is going to be based on video games.
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: My top five video games. I'm going to ask for
- 1:12:37Speaker 2: recommendations off of those games, and then after that I'm
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: going to do.
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: Books.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: I'm gonna say, hey, if I liked this book, what
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: other books should I read? And then it'll be movies
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: and TV shows after that. So I'm trying to build
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: up my collection because again I will always blame Katie
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: for getting me into this whole love of books again,
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: and but it's absolutely fun. I am actually really excited
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: to get more and more books.
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: I the reason why I don't have a credit.
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: This this month is because I immediately spent it one
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: way of the Kings. I'm going to listen and listen
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: and read. I'm gonna have it in front of me
- 1:13:30Speaker 2: and read it while I'm listening. Uh, that's a big book.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: It's the biggest book I think I've ever heard stuff.
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: I don't know if I'm down, man, this feels like
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: one piece to me. Anyone who tells me go read
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: Brandon Sanderson feels like telling me someone to go watch
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: like one piece.
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: So so I didn't know this because again I just
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: randomly doom scrolling and then I saw this person have
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: a like thirty five book stack and They're like, oh,
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: let me tell you about this universe that Brandon Sanderson wrote.
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: And they were like, oh, and I'll tell you exactly
- 1:14:04Speaker 2: what order to read it, and and they were jumping
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: all over the place.
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: I was like, oh God, what did I what did
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: I give? What did I get into? I'm going to
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: only read the one.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: Series like and if I and that's if I liked
- 1:14:17Speaker 2: the ending of this book, if it wants like, if
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: I have the want to read more, okay, I'll do it.
- 1:14:23Speaker 2: But if I if I d n F this book
- 1:14:26Speaker 2: or if I just don't like it, I'm not going
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: to hate myself and be like, oh no, I have
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: to finish the series now.
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: It's okay, guys, you don't have to do that. You
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: just read books exactly just like you, just like you
- 1:14:38Speaker 4: would like a Netflix show. You don't like the Netflix show,
- 1:14:40Speaker 4: just turn off, go watch another one. That's how it
- 1:14:43Speaker 4: should be. It's how TV show should be.
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: You know, it's not worth your time to spend on
- 1:14:48Speaker 3: things that you hate, as we always say, don't.
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: We, Clay, Uh, But yeah, that's that's what I'm doing.
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: Also on this network is Range Alliance. Go check out
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: Ranger Alliance me and Jake have moved to a weekly schedule.
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: We are covering the new Super Sini show Goes Yoga.
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: We are on We've reviewed.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: Four episodes so far.
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: It is a yearly show and so we wanted to
- 1:15:20Speaker 4: go ahead and go weekly with that, and they go
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: for about fifty two weeks, so.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: It's going to be a lot of fun. So go
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: check that out.
- 1:15:31Speaker 3: It'll be fun, all right, y'all. You can find me

- 1:16:15Speaker 3: for Patreon in like two years. I'm sorry, guys, I'm
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: a slacker, but we talked about this on our sabers
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: for higher episode that we did for Patreon.
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: It is Superhuman by Michael Carroll. I found it for
- 1:16:30Speaker 3: two dollars, so I picked it up. Clay gave me
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: a book, and I gave him a book. So I'm
- 1:16:37Speaker 3: reading this one and it will be on Patreon. I
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: will be recording that this weekend, so that's what you
- 1:16:44Speaker 3: can expect, hopefully next week. Clay's my editor, so you
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: just have to depend on him for dependability. I don't
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: know all right, y'all. But with that, I want to
- 1:17:01Speaker 3: thank each and every one of you for joining us,
- 1:17:03Speaker 3: whether you are listening or watching, and I hope you
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: all have a wonderful day. I totally screwed up the outro,
- 1:17:11Speaker 3: but you know what, May the Force be with you. Bye, guys,
