Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Hello, everybody, and welcome to a live post-game edition after
- 0:16Speaker 2: game one of the NLCS.
- 0:19Speaker 3: Alana Rizzo, Clint Pasillas with you.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Katie Wu, of course, is about to make her way
- 0:23Speaker 2: into the visiting clubhouse at American Family Field. The Dodgers
- 0:27Speaker 2: lose game one to the Milwaukee Brewers. Clint, we knew
- 0:31Speaker 2: this was not going to be an easy win. You thought, though,
- 0:34Speaker 2: that if you could get past Jacob Mizorowski, which the
- 0:36Speaker 2: Dodgers did a good job of getting him out of
- 0:39Speaker 2: the game relatively.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Early, that you could get past him.
- 0:41Speaker 2: That you might really have a shot, especially on the road.
- 0:43Speaker 2: What's your, what's your one big takeaway from this one
- 0:45Speaker 2: so far?
- 0:46Speaker 4: Yeah. The Dodgers into the game with a seven game
- 0:49Speaker 4: post-season winning streak against the Milwaukee Brewers. That is now
- 0:53Speaker 4: snapped because it says it right there on the screen.
- 0:55Speaker 4: The offense could capitalize on nothing today. And I'm not,
- 0:58Speaker 4: I'm not giving a lot of that to Jacob Mizorowski.
- 1:01Speaker 4: You know, credit where credit was due. He was able
- 1:04Speaker 4: to lock in in some moments when he needed to.
- 1:08Speaker 4: But yeah, the Dodgers also couldn't capitalize. They, the, Too
- 1:11Speaker 4: many double plays, too many guys, well, I guess not
- 1:14Speaker 4: enough guys left on base by virtue of the double
- 1:18Speaker 4: plays there. But yeah, you know, if you're looking for
- 1:21Speaker 4: a silver lining, you made him work. You also got
- 1:23Speaker 4: a lot of visuals on there, guys. 85 pitches through
- 1:27Speaker 4: four innings. He exits after four and a third over
- 1:32Speaker 4: the course of the season through 100 pitches just three
- 1:35Speaker 4: different times. Last time it happened was in July, so
- 1:39Speaker 4: you knew you weren't going to get him very deep
- 1:41Speaker 4: into the game unless he was super economical, but that's
- 1:44Speaker 4: not necessarily his game. Did not have the slider going,
- 1:47Speaker 4: but yeah, you know, not outside of that ninth inning.
- 1:51Speaker 4: There were some inning building and all that kind of
- 1:54Speaker 4: stuff that happened early in the game, but the ninth
- 1:56Speaker 4: inning I think was, it gives you a little bit
- 1:58Speaker 4: of something, question mark, to kind of hang your hat on.
- 2:02Speaker 4: You know, we see a DePaula at bat, and of course, ho-hum,
- 2:04Speaker 4: it's another walk. Tucker with a walk there off Trevor McGill.
- 2:10Speaker 4: A little bit of an effort against the closer there.
- 2:14Speaker 4: But yeah, too many missed opportunities for me.
- 2:16Speaker 3: A lot of missed opportunities.
- 2:18Speaker 2: You know, and it was funny because at the beginning
- 2:20Speaker 2: of the game, it was almost like the script had reversed.
- 2:23Speaker 2: It was like the Dodgers were trying to just get
- 2:25Speaker 2: guys on, move guys over, use the whole field, go
- 2:28Speaker 2: the other way, a little bit of more small ball,
- 2:30Speaker 2: which is a page out of Milwaukee's book. And then
- 2:32Speaker 2: you have, of course, a home run from Bryce Terang.
- 2:37Speaker 2: which is a page out of the Dodgers book. So
- 2:39Speaker 2: early on in the game, it was a little bit flipped,
- 2:41Speaker 2: but yeah, it's just somebody in our chat said that
- 2:43Speaker 2: the Dodgers offense is on a milk carton because that
- 2:46Speaker 2: means it's missing.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Offense, offense is the problem. Again, says Jason diamond Oh three.
- 2:52Speaker 3: And it's funny.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Do you remember Tim Federovich, the, uh, the catcher for
- 2:56Speaker 2: the Dodgers for a hot second. And he, I think
- 2:57Speaker 2: he's probably, I think he was also with Milwaukee too.
- 3:00Speaker 2: He was journey journeyman backup catcher. He said the Dodgers
- 3:03Speaker 2: have an Otani problem. He just said that on X
- 3:06Speaker 2: a couple of hours ago. And I am concerned about Otani.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I really am.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I mean, I've gotten to the point now. And again,
- 3:12Speaker 2: it wasn't just Otani today, uh, up and down the lineup.
- 3:15Speaker 2: They just didn't really get anything going. Um, but, Otani
- 3:18Speaker 2: just looks lost at the plate one for three. I
- 3:20Speaker 2: give him that though. He did have the walk, so
- 3:22Speaker 2: I can appreciate that, but he just doesn't, he's not
- 3:26Speaker 2: the offensive threat that he was before he got hurt.
- 3:30Speaker 2: I mean, he's really been this way for the second
- 3:32Speaker 2: half of the season. Middle of August is the last
- 3:34Speaker 2: time Otani's had a home run. I mean, that's a scary,
- 3:36Speaker 2: that's a scary thought to think here we are October
- 3:39Speaker 2: 11th and he hasn't had a home run since the
- 3:41Speaker 2: middle of August.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Um, so that is problematic.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Uh, when you take that threat out of the lineup, uh,
- 3:48Speaker 2: that takes a huge piece of your offense away. Uh,
- 3:51Speaker 2: and especially when nobody else is hitting either. So this
- 3:54Speaker 2: wasn't about pitching today. The Dodgers pitching staff did exactly
- 3:57Speaker 2: what they needed to do. Um, you know, again, you're,
- 4:00Speaker 2: you mentioned it too, having three double plays, uh, hitting
- 4:03Speaker 2: into three double plays, you know, they led major league
- 4:06Speaker 2: baseball during the regular season. And as far as hitting
- 4:09Speaker 2: into double plays. So, That kind of carried over into
- 4:12Speaker 2: the NLCS, and that's not going to get the job done.
- 4:14Speaker 4: Yeah, it's every bit of how they got here, I guess.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Too many double plays, some of the missed opportunities. It
- 4:22Speaker 4: feels like at times they rely a little too much
- 4:25Speaker 4: on the two-out offense, on something to kind of spark them.
- 4:30Speaker 4: In this game in particular, you saw them starting to
- 4:33Speaker 4: try to stack some innings. uh with probably already like
- 4:37Speaker 4: one out in the inning and all that kind of
- 4:39Speaker 4: stuff uh going back to the show hey yeah i
- 4:41Speaker 4: mean show hey again is you need more out of
- 4:45Speaker 4: show hey definitely not the problem i need to see
- 4:48Speaker 4: more out of william dill smith entered this series one
- 4:52Speaker 4: for 16 in the postseason um he i thought what
- 4:55Speaker 4: didn't he hit into the first double play uh no
- 4:58Speaker 4: one of the double plays he hit into I forget
- 5:01Speaker 4: which one.
- 5:01Speaker 3: I think it was the second one. I think it
- 5:03Speaker 3: was the second one.
- 5:04Speaker 4: But these guys are coming up. Him, Shohei coming up
- 5:07Speaker 4: with runners on. Andy Pa has had an opportunity as well.
- 5:12Speaker 4: The Kike one, that was the one that happened first.
- 5:14Speaker 4: That one was really painful. And I will say, love
- 5:19Speaker 4: me some Kike. Love me some postseason Kike. This game,
- 5:23Speaker 4: to me, felt a little forced. I understand Dave wanted
- 5:25Speaker 4: to try to ride the Kike hand. I wouldn't necessarily
- 5:28Speaker 4: say it was the hot hand. I'm not going to
- 5:31Speaker 4: say it was a cold hand either, but I don't know.
- 5:33Speaker 4: That one felt forced in this game. I think I
- 5:36Speaker 4: would have liked maybe, I don't know if I would
- 5:39Speaker 4: have liked the compete or the at-bats or the whatever
- 5:42Speaker 4: more out of Tommy Edmond at second base, but 105, Kike,
- 5:48Speaker 4: I don't know. Also, did not. He was not the
- 5:50Speaker 4: guy who lost this game for this team either, and
- 5:53Speaker 4: he might be in there tomorrow. It might be Tommy
- 5:55Speaker 4: Edmond tomorrow, but that was one of those things I flagged.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Really early, I mentioned to some people, you know, in
- 6:02Speaker 4: a message, I'm like, yeah, I love Kike, but I
- 6:05Speaker 4: didn't like him in this game so much.
- 6:08Speaker 5: Hey, at FK and the Foul Territory Network, we have

- 7:06Speaker 6: about them. Please support our show and let them know
- 7:08Speaker 6: we sent you.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not certain if he was forcing the issue
- 7:11Speaker 2: or not. Maybe I don't know the numbers, you know,
- 7:13Speaker 2: of Kike going up against Mizorowski, Edmund going up against Mizorowski.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Some people in the chat were questioning why they let
- 7:21Speaker 2: Josue de Paula.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Pinch hit for Kike in that situation.
- 7:25Speaker 2: But, I mean, you like the fact that he drew
- 7:27Speaker 2: a walk, you know, just get guys on bait, force
- 7:30Speaker 2: the issue against McGill there to make the closer play.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Shaking his cleats a little bit.
- 7:36Speaker 2: You know, you give up two walks to Kyle Tucker
- 7:38Speaker 2: and then, of course, to DePaula, and you're hoping that
- 7:40Speaker 2: Mookie can do something there.
- 7:41Speaker 3: And he just, you know, he gave it a ride.
- 7:43Speaker 2: It just wasn't a long enough ride, obviously, flying out
- 7:47Speaker 2: to center field there. So this one was just kind
- 7:49Speaker 2: of like a blah. It was just a blah game. And, again,
- 7:52Speaker 2: I said this earlier, and we were talking to Ken
- 7:53Speaker 2: Rosenthal about it, too, on Fair Territory. You know, it's
- 7:56Speaker 2: like if you– If you are able to get Jacob
- 8:00Speaker 2: Mizorowski out of the game early, which the Dodgers did,
- 8:03Speaker 2: or if you were able to win a game in
- 8:05Speaker 2: which Jacob Mizorowski is on the hill to start, then
- 8:08Speaker 2: does the rest of their entourage, if you will, crumble?
- 8:11Speaker 2: And you can't really look ahead because Henderson is nothing
- 8:14Speaker 2: to sneeze at, right?
- 8:15Speaker 3: I mean, obviously, you're fortunate because you.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Have Yamamoto going up against him. to oppose him, but
- 8:22Speaker 2: he's not, and now they feel good about themselves, right?
- 8:25Speaker 2: He's nothing, he's a very good pitcher as well, so
- 8:29Speaker 2: you have to, have to, have to get game two,
- 8:32Speaker 2: because you do not want to, wow, this guy's really angry.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Go back to Madison, Wisconsin, apparently I'm a traitor, because...
- 8:41Speaker 2: I lived in Wisconsin for three years and worked at CBS.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:45Speaker 3: He has very foul language as well. Yamamoto. Yamamoto 112.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Well, that guy could fuck all the way off. He's
- 8:53Speaker 4: been kicked out.
- 8:55Speaker 3: All the way.
- 8:56Speaker 2: So, you know, this was just a bad game. It
- 8:59Speaker 2: was just kind of a ho-hum, ho-hum game. Nobody did
- 9:03Speaker 2: anything horribly. The double plays killed us. There was just
- 9:05Speaker 2: no offense and started pitching.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I wouldn't– I mean– I don't disagree with the
- 9:14Speaker 4: idea of a bad game. Maybe bad game is a
- 9:17Speaker 4: half step too far. Definitely, like we were saying before
- 9:20Speaker 4: going live, it was meh, it was blah, it was bleh,
- 9:24Speaker 4: whatever letter you would like to mix in there. You
- 9:27Speaker 4: could argue it was bad based on the Dodgers' efforts offensively,
- 9:32Speaker 4: but take into consideration, they saw, and this is part
- 9:36Speaker 4: of the silver lining, they saw every one of their aces,
- 9:39Speaker 4: every one of their best arms, both in the Miz
- 9:43Speaker 4: and in the bullpen with McGill, with Abner Uribe. Aaron
- 9:46Speaker 4: Ashby threw a lot of pitches in there. D.L. Hall
- 9:49Speaker 4: is kind of the other guy who's just like one
- 9:50Speaker 4: tier below that Pat Murphy has kind of turned to
- 9:54Speaker 4: a lot as the season has trudged on in this postseason.
- 9:58Speaker 4: So if you are looking for something, Pa, again, not
- 10:02Speaker 4: that people are going to be like, oh, we made
- 10:03Speaker 4: him throw a lot of pitches, and that's what you
- 10:05Speaker 4: can hang your hat on. But you can kind of
- 10:07Speaker 4: hang your hat on the fact that You made it
- 10:09Speaker 4: work and you got looks.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:11Speaker 2: It might be something that is going to be a
- 10:13Speaker 2: factor in a seven game series. You know, when you're,
- 10:16Speaker 2: when you're going to need, if you can knock their
- 10:19Speaker 2: starters out of the game early and you need more
- 10:21Speaker 2: of a bullpen game from these guys, that could be
- 10:24Speaker 2: a factor moving forward. So, I mean, yeah, if you're
- 10:27Speaker 2: looking for silver linings, the fact that they had to
- 10:28Speaker 2: throw a million pitches, that's helpful. If you're looking for
- 10:33Speaker 2: something positive, that perhaps is a good thing. Let me
- 10:38Speaker 2: ask you this. There's a question posed in the chat,
- 10:40Speaker 2: and it's a good one. Do you continue to hit
- 10:42Speaker 2: William Dill Smith third?
- 10:43Speaker 4: I'm going to search that so we can pop it
- 10:47Speaker 4: on the screen because it is one of also the
- 10:49Speaker 4: big questions that I flagged. I guess I don't need
- 10:53Speaker 4: it because you already asked it. It's a conversation. It's
- 10:56Speaker 4: a conversation this team needs to have because, again, it's
- 10:59Speaker 4: not a very good postseason. We are now, what, one
- 11:01Speaker 4: for quick math, one for 19 on the postseason. Did
- 11:05Speaker 4: earn a walk today, but he gave one kind of
- 11:10Speaker 4: a ride. I guess if you're looking to have your
- 11:13Speaker 4: center fielder shag some fly balls just to get some routes,
- 11:15Speaker 4: it was a good play or a good hit, but
- 11:17Speaker 4: not so much for trying to put points on the board.
- 11:20Speaker 4: I think the conversation needs to be who's going to
- 11:22Speaker 4: give you the best at bat out of that, that
- 11:25Speaker 4: number three spot, especially if it's going to continue to
- 11:28Speaker 4: be Mookie leading off and then a lefty and Freddie,
- 11:30Speaker 4: I would not move Freddie at all. So do you,
- 11:34Speaker 4: do you plug Tao in there? Do you consider moving
- 11:37Speaker 4: another lefty up? Kyle Tucker is given this team really
- 11:40Speaker 4: good at bats. That is something that is worth noting,
- 11:43Speaker 4: but also do you want to take that away from
- 11:46Speaker 4: lower in the lineup? So it is a tough conversation.
- 11:49Speaker 4: You know, Tao, a couple of knocks today, one really,
- 11:52Speaker 4: really good swing in that, I think it was that
- 11:55Speaker 4: second inning or the third inning, whenever it was, second inning,
- 11:59Speaker 4: when they loaded the bases and couldn't do anything with it.
- 12:02Speaker 4: But yeah, maybe flipping those, but Will definitely needs to
- 12:06Speaker 4: be moved down right now. And I don't know that
- 12:09Speaker 4: game is speeding up for him, but just to let
- 12:10Speaker 4: it slow down a little bit and hopefully find him
- 12:13Speaker 4: a little bit less.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, that's the thing. Again, and I've said
- 12:19Speaker 2: this before, and I will continue to say this. His
- 12:21Speaker 2: biggest job, his biggest responsibility is managing the pitching staff
- 12:24Speaker 2: and calling the right pitches.
- 12:27Speaker 3: I was going to say putting the fingers down, but
- 12:28Speaker 3: we don't do that anymore.
- 12:30Speaker 2: But, you know, you would like to get some offense
- 12:32Speaker 2: from a guy that you're accustomed to getting offense from, right?
- 12:35Speaker 4: Especially in the postseason.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Especially in the postseason, and that just hasn't been there
- 12:40Speaker 2: for Will, for Otani. I mean, I think Otani's hurt
- 12:43Speaker 2: more than he's letting on, or more than we know,
- 12:45Speaker 2: because his mechanics are all over the place, and he
- 12:49Speaker 2: just doesn't look good right now.
- 12:51Speaker 4: I mean, hey, 105 miles an hour is probably pretty
- 12:53Speaker 4: tough to hit.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I get it. I get it. But he hasn't been right.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I mean, he did in– In the NLDS, the last
- 13:01Speaker 2: game of the NLDS, he did look better. Dave Roberts
- 13:04Speaker 2: said that he liked the patience at the plate, and
- 13:07Speaker 2: he did look better. But by and large, to me,
- 13:09Speaker 2: he just doesn't seem like a threat right now.
- 13:12Speaker 3: Like, Otani, you're figuring. I mean, two years ago, he
- 13:14Speaker 3: was 50-50. You know what I mean? Like, he's just
- 13:17Speaker 3: not that guy.
- 13:17Speaker 4: He's not that guy.
- 13:19Speaker 2: He's not that guy right now. I'm not saying Shohei
- 13:21Speaker 2: can't get back to that guy. I'm just saying he's
- 13:23Speaker 2: not that guy at the moment when we need him
- 13:26Speaker 2: the most.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Uh no absolutely and and i said this uh yesterday
- 13:32Speaker 4: in like a keys of the series where you know
- 13:34Speaker 4: i i don't know i like to give here on
- 13:37Speaker 4: the internet and make sure people don't think that i'm
- 13:39Speaker 4: just going to be out here full dodger homer hat
- 13:42Speaker 4: on i don't even wear a dodger hat i wear
- 13:44Speaker 4: my own podcast merch here check it out um we
- 13:47Speaker 4: can only get it from one dodger territory shop.com but
- 13:49Speaker 4: anyways Uh, I did want to make sure people understand
- 13:52Speaker 4: that the Brewers are a team that can beat the Dodgers.
- 13:55Speaker 4: They a hundred percent can. They are very good team.
- 13:57Speaker 4: They were good throughout the regular season. They got better, uh,
- 14:00Speaker 4: from last season. What you and I and Katie also
- 14:04Speaker 4: talked about on Thursday, they are a better club. They
- 14:07Speaker 4: have better pitching and we always knew this was going
- 14:09Speaker 4: to be a longer series. Um, I'm going to throw
- 14:14Speaker 4: this chat up from Pibbles 9 because I feel like
- 14:17Speaker 4: we are kind of leaning more negative. It's one game.
- 14:20Speaker 4: To borrow from my buddy Jeff Snyder, something that pisses
- 14:22Speaker 4: everybody off, it's just one game. Not that he would
- 14:24Speaker 4: say that in the postseason, but Pibbles is saying, I
- 14:26Speaker 4: don't know, I feel good still. I like they made
- 14:28Speaker 4: Mizorowski throw a lot of pitches. I like the at-bats.
- 14:31Speaker 4: They got some hits. It was a one-run game. It's
- 14:33Speaker 4: a seven-game series. It's not over yet.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I agree. I agree. I agree with Pimples nine. Absolutely.
- 14:39Speaker 2: I still think the Dodgers when I, I personally think
- 14:41Speaker 2: the Dodgers went in six, I've always thought the Dodgers
- 14:44Speaker 2: were going to win in six, but this is not
- 14:45Speaker 2: a team that's just going to bend over in the
- 14:47Speaker 2: Milwaukee Brewers. This is a very good team. And I
- 14:49Speaker 2: think the whole narrative that this is David versus Goliath
- 14:52Speaker 2: is overplayed because last year you could, you could perhaps
- 14:56Speaker 2: say that, but this is a very good team that
- 14:58Speaker 2: we've been talking about. They won 103 games in the
- 15:00Speaker 2: regular season. You guys, they have Obviously, they have home
- 15:04Speaker 2: field advantage throughout. The Dodgers, I think they were what?
- 15:07Speaker 2: They beat the Dodgers 4-3 in the season series, I believe,
- 15:09Speaker 2: over the course of the 2026 regular season. This is
- 15:12Speaker 2: a very good team, and they play baseball a very
- 15:16Speaker 2: opposite way that the Dodgers do, but they're very good
- 15:19Speaker 2: with the personnel that they have, getting results from the
- 15:22Speaker 2: type of lineup construction that they have and the personnel
- 15:25Speaker 2: that their front office puts together. For a small market club,
- 15:28Speaker 2: they do things differently.
- 15:29Speaker 3: The right way.
- 15:30Speaker 2: And they're very well managed. Pat Murphy is a very
- 15:33Speaker 2: good coach back to back. I want to say he's
- 15:34Speaker 2: back to back nationally manager of the year. So this
- 15:39Speaker 2: is a club that knows what they're doing.
- 15:40Speaker 3: They pay attention.
- 15:41Speaker 2: And unlike the New York Yankees, unlike some of the
- 15:45Speaker 2: other clubs, um, the Red Sox, the big, big market
- 15:49Speaker 2: clubs that don't play fundamentally sound baseball, and it has
- 15:52Speaker 2: hurt them in the, in the areas in which it
- 15:54Speaker 2: matters the most, um, the Brewers will catch the ball
- 15:57Speaker 2: and they will defend. So they may not slug you
- 15:59Speaker 2: to death, but they will play the game the right way.
- 16:01Speaker 2: They do not make mental errors.
- 16:04Speaker 4: No, no, definitely not. Not under Pat Murphy's watch. And
- 16:08Speaker 4: we saw something earlier this season where they ended up
- 16:12Speaker 4: benching the rookie Cooper Pratt for not running out of
- 16:15Speaker 4: ground ball. It doesn't matter if you are a veteran,
- 16:17Speaker 4: if you are a very highly regarded rookie. they are
- 16:23Speaker 4: going to make sure you're playing the game the right way.
- 16:25Speaker 4: And this is where Dave and Murph have such, you know,
- 16:28Speaker 4: like they get along, they mesh so well and, you know,
- 16:31Speaker 4: have worked together in the past when neither of them
- 16:33Speaker 4: were picked for that Padres job. You know, like this
- 16:38Speaker 4: is what they do. They make sure their ball clubs
- 16:41Speaker 4: are equipped to win.
- 16:44Speaker 1: The 2026 MLB playoffs are here. And guess what? Seat
- 16:49Speaker 1: Geek has you covered. Let's go. If you're looking to

- 17:02Speaker 1: seat to go. If it's red, that means no. Guess what?
- 17:05Speaker 1: There's some big teams going. Kratzy, tell us about it.
- 17:08Speaker 4: I'm definitely going to a Brewers game.
- 17:10Speaker 5: There's no bad seats in Milwaukee because the stadium is
- 17:14Speaker 5: right on top of the field.
- 17:15Speaker 4: It feels like You're in the grass. And you know what?
- 17:19Speaker 5: If your team lost this year, go get yourself some
- 17:21Speaker 5: concert tickets.

- 17:40Speaker 1: you can use it later. Go to SeatGeek.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Before we continue on, Or as we continue on. We've
- 17:47Speaker 4: talked about all the other things. Let's talk a little
- 17:50Speaker 4: more about the Scooble side of things.
- 17:53Speaker 3: He pitched great. He pitched really well.
- 17:56Speaker 2: He dominated and he just looked so locked in. I mean,
- 18:01Speaker 2: it was just like he didn't seem like anything faced
- 18:04Speaker 2: him at all. I mean, you can see the pitch
- 18:05Speaker 2: mix there. Obviously, that four-seam fastball was working really, really well.
- 18:09Speaker 2: He has had tremendous postseason outings. All three of his,
- 18:14Speaker 2: I guess now four, postseason outings in his career have
- 18:17Speaker 2: been really, really good.
- 18:19Speaker 3: He's been tremendous.
- 18:20Speaker 2: I mean, five innings, giving up the five hits, but
- 18:22Speaker 2: he didn't, you know, You'll give him.
- 18:25Speaker 5: The home run.
- 18:26Speaker 2: That's a solo shot. Usually solo shots don't kill you.
- 18:28Speaker 2: I mean, this was a tight game, right?
- 18:29Speaker 3: Two to one.
- 18:30Speaker 2: You'll take that. That's what you expect in the postseason.
- 18:32Speaker 2: I thought Tarek Skubal pitched really well. You tip your
- 18:36Speaker 2: cap to Bryce Terang. Tarek Skubal absolutely did his job tonight.
- 18:41Speaker 2: You think if your starting pitcher only gives up two
- 18:45Speaker 2: earned runs, you expect to win the ballgame. It was
- 18:47Speaker 2: just that he was opposed on the other side of
- 18:51Speaker 2: probably the NL Cy Young award winner.
- 18:53Speaker 3: You know what I mean? So it's like, well, I mean,
- 18:55Speaker 3: that's what you want. It's usually ace against ace.
- 18:57Speaker 2: And the beauty is tomorrow we have another ace is
- 19:00Speaker 2: equally good as Tarek Scoble, maybe if not better, who
- 19:03Speaker 2: happened to be the world series MVP last year. So
- 19:05Speaker 2: that's where, that's where I think the, the difference is
- 19:09Speaker 2: going to be made in the fact that look at
- 19:11Speaker 2: our starting staff compared to theirs, compared to anybody's honestly.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:15Speaker 4: As, as good, as much credit as we, we, um,
- 19:18Speaker 4: I'll say that Logan Henderson deserves had a fantastic year.
- 19:21Speaker 4: He is a rookie and, um, Yoshinobu Yamamoto is a
- 19:24Speaker 4: postseason dog. He is a World Series MVP. He is
- 19:28Speaker 4: a two-time World Series champion, all this kind of stuff.
- 19:33Speaker 4: The moment does not faze him. Maybe the game can
- 19:35Speaker 4: get a little quick on somebody like Henderson. I think
- 19:38Speaker 4: him pitching at home probably helps him out a whole lot.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Yamamoto pitching well on the road helps him out a
- 19:45Speaker 4: whole lot, and it's going to be a battle, but
- 19:46Speaker 4: it's still going to come down to the same thing
- 19:49Speaker 4: that it was going to come down to. entering this
- 19:51Speaker 4: game today. If they, if you get a hit, they
- 19:55Speaker 4: give you a walk. If you find a way to
- 19:57Speaker 4: get on via an error, you need to capitalize. You
- 19:59Speaker 4: need to put, you know, I don't care if it's
- 20:01Speaker 4: even a white picket fence with one, one, one, one,
- 20:03Speaker 4: you need to score on the innings where you have opportunities.
- 20:06Speaker 4: If there's bases loaded, And two, sorry, fewer than two outs. Cough, cough, Kike.
- 20:12Speaker 4: That run's got to come home. I don't care. You
- 20:14Speaker 4: need to be selling out to hit a fly ball.
- 20:17Speaker 3: And that's kind of what I was thinking, too, with
- 20:19Speaker 3: Mookie there. It's like you just need a single, man.
- 20:22Speaker 3: It's like I understand. It's easier for us to sit here.
- 20:25Speaker 3: I couldn't even make contact.
- 20:26Speaker 4: Baseball is hard.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Get a ball out of the infield. I get it.
- 20:30Speaker 2: But it's like right there in that situation, you know,
- 20:33Speaker 2: you just get a single. You know, get Kyle Tucker
- 20:36Speaker 2: in from second at that point.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Yeah. You know, it is what it is. It is
- 20:41Speaker 3: what it is.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Yeah, but to wrap up the Schuble stuff, and then
- 20:45Speaker 4: we'll look ahead to tomorrow, and then we'll hang out
- 20:47Speaker 4: with some chats before signing off. Perfectly good. That's what
- 20:52Speaker 4: you pay him for. Definitely could have gone longer. I think, what,
- 20:55Speaker 4: 81 pitches through the five innings? But at that moment,
- 20:58Speaker 4: there was no reason to give Milwaukee another look, especially
- 21:01Speaker 4: when you have a rested bullpen and you have a
- 21:03Speaker 4: day off on Tuesday. Zero reason because he is going
- 21:07Speaker 4: to factor in heavily still in the series, whether it's
- 21:11Speaker 4: game five or six.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I was going to say, I think he's your game
- 21:16Speaker 2: five starter right now. So yeah, you're right. You've got
- 21:19Speaker 2: to play this in the long haul. And again, he
- 21:21Speaker 2: gave up two earned runs. He absolutely did his job.
- 21:23Speaker 2: You'd think that you can.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Scratch and claw a couple of runs against a very
- 21:28Speaker 2: formidable bullpen.
- 21:29Speaker 3: I get it.
- 21:29Speaker 2: But, you know, at a certain point, one of our
- 21:33Speaker 2: one of our stars has to be a star in
- 21:35Speaker 2: this series.
- 21:35Speaker 6: Right.
- 21:36Speaker 2: I mean, the Dodgers were one for six with runners
- 21:38Speaker 2: in scoring position. So far, they're two for twenty two
- 21:40Speaker 2: in the postseason. That's not going to get it done.
- 21:43Speaker 2: So they're getting guys on. They're just not bringing guys in.
- 21:46Speaker 2: At some point, it needs to be one of these superstars.
- 21:49Speaker 2: and perennial all-stars and MVPs and those types of things,
- 21:53Speaker 2: one of those guys has to come up with that
- 21:55Speaker 2: clutch hit in a key situation. And I do believe
- 21:58Speaker 2: that will happen. It just has not happened so far
- 22:00Speaker 2: in the NLCS.
- 22:01Speaker 4: So far, the lone clutch hit or the most clutch
- 22:06Speaker 4: hit has been Andy Pahez, which is last time I
- 22:09Speaker 4: checked how much he makes per year. It starts with
- 22:12Speaker 4: a seven and not a I guess Shohei kind of
- 22:17Speaker 4: a 70.
- 22:18Speaker 2: He is an all-star, but he's not the first person
- 22:21Speaker 2: you think of when you think of offensive juggernaut for
- 22:24Speaker 2: the Los Angeles Dodgers.
- 22:25Speaker 4: There are fewer zeros is what I was trying to
- 22:27Speaker 4: say on his paycheck. Quick shout also for the bullpen.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Vessia works around the leadoff walk, faces the minimum, two
- 22:36Speaker 4: punches in there. Evan Phillips has been fantastic over the
- 22:39Speaker 4: last month and a half, two months, whatever it is,
- 22:41Speaker 4: and the postseason as well. Pitches the seventh. three punches
- 22:45Speaker 4: in there and tanner scott with the scoreless eighth it
- 22:49Speaker 4: wasn't pretty but it's scoreless and that's the most important
- 22:53Speaker 4: part he was able he was able to keep it
- 22:57Speaker 4: right there keep it close uh what do we say
- 23:00Speaker 4: let's look ahead at tomorrow's game game two with our
- 23:05Speaker 4: friends at fox one we got a good one we
- 23:08Speaker 4: already talked about it yamamoto henderson um dodgers need to
- 23:13Speaker 4: win this game Yeah, they do.
- 23:15Speaker 2: They absolutely do. They need to win game two. So you're,
- 23:17Speaker 2: then you're, then you're starting over again. Right. And again,
- 23:20Speaker 2: seven game series, anything can happen, but you don't want to,
- 23:23Speaker 2: I mean, yes, of course you'd love to come back.
- 23:24Speaker 3: What is it?
- 23:25Speaker 2: Two, three, two. So yeah.
- 23:26Speaker 3: I mean, if you lose, if you lose game two,
- 23:28Speaker 3: at least you get to come home, but that's not
- 23:30Speaker 3: what you want.
- 23:30Speaker 2: If you, if you figure, if you can split on
- 23:32Speaker 2: the road and again, I don't think you hold, I
- 23:34Speaker 2: don't think you hang your hat. Uh, if you lose
- 23:36Speaker 2: to Jacob Mizorowski, you know what I mean? Like you
- 23:39Speaker 2: hope that you, if you, you feel lucky, I guess
- 23:41Speaker 2: if you say, Hey man, we beat their ACE and now,
- 23:44Speaker 2: We take game one.
- 23:45Speaker 3: You always want game one.
- 23:46Speaker 2: But if you can at least split on the road,
- 23:48Speaker 2: you pretty much love your chances coming back home, even
- 23:51Speaker 2: if it has to go back to Milwaukee. You take
- 23:53Speaker 2: two of three at home. You go back to Milwaukee.
- 23:56Speaker 2: You win game two. You take two of three at home.
- 24:00Speaker 3: You're going back with the lead. So I'll take it.
- 24:03Speaker 4: Yeah. I will call it a must win as well
- 24:07Speaker 4: because you feel a lot better heading to L.A.
- 24:10Speaker 1: 1-1.
- 24:11Speaker 4: Then down 0-2. And you got to beat that. You
- 24:14Speaker 4: got to beat them when you got Yama on the bumps.
- 24:16Speaker 4: So I feel real good about this. I feel real
- 24:19Speaker 4: good about the series. If you guys saw the little
- 24:22Speaker 4: basketball corgi that whatever he gets paid, it's not enough.
- 24:25Speaker 4: He said the Dodgers were going to lose game one
- 24:26Speaker 4: either way. So he's going to be great. I forgot
- 24:30Speaker 4: how he said.
- 24:33Speaker 3: I don't know. That corgi, man.
- 24:35Speaker 4: Have you ever been on that page, by the way?
- 24:38Speaker 4: That dog is– I've seen it. That dog puts in work.
- 24:41Speaker 3: I've seen it, yeah.
- 24:42Speaker 4: I hope they got a little doggy masseuse for his
- 24:45Speaker 4: hind legs there. Always having to.
- 24:48Speaker 3: Do the jump.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Did you see the corgi race where the corgi looked back?
- 24:53Speaker 3: It was diabolical. I did not.
- 24:55Speaker 2: It was at a football game, and he was running.
- 24:58Speaker 2: He was running against other corgis. But he was so
- 25:01Speaker 2: far ahead. He's like the Flash, the Freeze, the Freeze
- 25:05Speaker 2: in Atlanta.
- 25:06Speaker 1: Gotcha.
- 25:06Speaker 2: He just looked back, and it was just diabolical. He
- 25:09Speaker 2: was so far ahead of everybody.
- 25:10Speaker 4: For more Corgi content, make sure you guys are subscribed.
- 25:14Speaker 4: to all Dodgers. And then Riz, why don't you tell
- 25:16Speaker 4: them about MLB on Fox and Fox.
- 25:18Speaker 3: It would be my pleasure. MLB on Fox. It is
- 25:21Speaker 3: streaming on Fox one. The post season is here.
- 25:23Speaker 2: We have your front row seat to the wildest walk-offs
- 25:26Speaker 2: lights out pitching and clutch plays all playoffs long stream

- 25:35Speaker 2: live on Fox One at home or on the go,
- 25:38Speaker 2: live or on demand.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Never miss a moment. Stream now.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Start your Fox One three-day free trial today at foxone.com.
- 25:47Speaker 4: We always appreciate Fox. We always appreciate anybody who is
- 25:50Speaker 4: kind enough to support us with their hard-earned cheddar. We
- 25:53Speaker 4: got a super chat here, 999MHDodgerLife. It says, we got
- 25:57Speaker 4: beat by the Homer ball, small ball. Offense, terrible. Milwaukee
- 26:01Speaker 4: backed up their ace, and we didn't do anything for Schuble. Hopefully,
- 26:05Speaker 4: this is the most concerning game loss. Too many concerns. Otani, offense, Smith, yeah.
- 26:14Speaker 4: We agree. They didn't find a homer. This is where
- 26:17Speaker 4: you do worry about being so homer-reliant as an offense. But, again,
- 26:23Speaker 4: hopefully this is one of those games that with seeing
- 26:27Speaker 4: their performance relievers they're ace relievers so many times like
- 26:31Speaker 4: you put in work today that could pay dividends in
- 26:34Speaker 4: games three four five six i'm not going to do six.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Seven yeah it wasn't a blow up it's not like
- 26:40Speaker 2: they lost ten to three you you can understand a
- 26:44Speaker 2: two to one game when you have mizorowski on the hill.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Although they did have opportunities to get.
- 26:48Speaker 2: To him and they didn't and i think that's the
- 26:50Speaker 2: concerning part you can't leave guys on base again one
- 26:52Speaker 2: for six with runners in scoring position that's not going
- 26:55Speaker 2: to get the job done.
- 26:56Speaker 3: I think if they would have won this game, they
- 26:57Speaker 3: would have felt like, hey, we kind.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Of stole one here, right? An opportunity with Yama on
- 27:02Speaker 2: the hill. You could have gone up 2-0 going back
- 27:04Speaker 2: to LA. That would have felt pretty great. But in
- 27:06Speaker 2: my opinion, you have to win tomorrow.
- 27:08Speaker 4: Great point. Great point. We got another– we got 499 here,
- 27:12Speaker 4: 21 Eric LA. I honestly feel they took better swings
- 27:14Speaker 4: and had a more patient time at the plate when
- 27:17Speaker 4: Miz was in the game. Once he was out, they looked–
- 27:20Speaker 4: it looked bad. I think they probably– Probably the game plan,
- 27:25Speaker 4: the messaging was, let's get him out early and attack
- 27:28Speaker 4: their relievers. Didn't work today.
- 27:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 27:31Speaker 3: Yeah. I mean, they have a good, but they do
- 27:33Speaker 3: have a good bullpen. But yeah, I mean, absolutely.
- 27:36Speaker 2: If you're going to, if you're going up against a
- 27:37Speaker 2: guy that throws 105 miles an hour for every single
- 27:39Speaker 2: dang pitch, and he's going to win the Cy Young
- 27:42Speaker 2: award in the National League, you'd probably feel pretty great
- 27:44Speaker 2: if you're knocking him out of the game in the
- 27:46Speaker 2: fourth or fifth inning. And that's what they did today.
- 27:48Speaker 2: They just couldn't do anything against their bullpen either.
- 27:50Speaker 3: So.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Care to comment here, Joe? And this is a nice
- 27:55Speaker 4: version of it. Joe says, Alana is a closet Brewers
- 27:57Speaker 4: fan from her time in Wisconsin. At least he's not
- 28:01Speaker 4: being mean.
- 28:01Speaker 2: I have to say, no, I don't mind that. No,
- 28:04Speaker 2: I mean, I respect the Brewers. Sure, I mean, if
- 28:06Speaker 2: the Dodgers aren't in it, do I want the Brewers
- 28:08Speaker 2: to go all the way?
- 28:09Speaker 3: Sure. I mean, at this point, if the Dodgers.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Lose to the Brewers, which I don't think is going
- 28:13Speaker 2: to happen, I think the Dodgers win in six. But
- 28:15Speaker 2: I would love it if the Brewers won the World Series.
- 28:17Speaker 2: If we're not in it, I'd rather a National League
- 28:19Speaker 2: team win. win than an American league team. Right. But yeah,
- 28:22Speaker 2: I mean, they're, they're well coached. I had a great
- 28:24Speaker 2: time in Milwaukee. I lived in Madison for three years. Um,
- 28:27Speaker 2: that was, that was a lot of fun, but I
- 28:29Speaker 2: am not a closet Brewers fan.
- 28:31Speaker 4: Dodgers all the way. Or also whoever's paying us that day,
- 28:36Speaker 4: we will be a fan. Uh, dollar 99, our friend
- 28:39Speaker 4: Latino slant in the chat.
- 28:40Speaker 3: So there we go.
- 28:42Speaker 4: Let's keep the faith and get a wind tomorrow. I
- 28:47Speaker 4: think we could say it's going to be great.
- 28:50Speaker 3: It's going to be great.
- 28:51Speaker 4: We still feel good. We still feel, still feel like
- 28:55Speaker 4: the Dodgers are the better team.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Yes.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Even if they didn't win 103 games this year, they
- 28:59Speaker 4: still won a hundred. They are a very good ball club.
- 29:01Speaker 4: You got anything else for me?
- 29:03Speaker 1: No.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Uh, good night guys. Thanks for being here. Remember it's
- 29:06Speaker 2: a weird start time tomorrow, right?
- 29:07Speaker 3: It's like what?
- 29:07Speaker 2: Five o'clock here, two o'clock in LA. So, uh, we
- 29:10Speaker 2: will be, Clint and I will be with you right
- 29:12Speaker 2: after the game as we were tonight. And don't forget
- 29:14Speaker 2: to check out Katie stuff. Uh, all the stuff that
- 29:17Speaker 2: she's writing on the athletic as well.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely. And, Make sure you watch, even if the
- 29:21Speaker 4: Rams game starts tomorrow, watch us during the Rams. You
- 29:23Speaker 4: got a phone, you got a device, you got super chats.
- 29:26Speaker 4: We appreciate you. And we'll see you tomorrow after the
- 29:29Speaker 4: Dodgers win game two. Bye.
