- 0:09Speaker 1: Inside the Birds is back. What's up, everybody, It's Jeff
- 0:15Speaker 1: Mosher and Adam Kaplan. We're continuing our NFL free agency primer.
- 0:19Speaker 1: We're in defense. We've done offense. On defense, we've done
- 0:23Speaker 1: the front players, the edges, the IDLs.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Now we're going to talk about off ball linebackers.
- 0:28Speaker 1: And quite a difference, I would say, Adam at least
- 0:32Speaker 1: at the top in the kind of player caliber that's
- 0:35Speaker 1: a player available compared to what we went through with DTS,
- 0:39Speaker 1: where you know, if you're looking for an impact starter
- 0:42Speaker 1: at DT, you're not fighting one. There's not a ton
- 0:45Speaker 1: of impact off ball linebackers, but there's a few, and
- 0:49Speaker 1: there are some pretty decent ones.
- 0:51Speaker 3: Yes, So depending on which team you speak with, it's
- 0:55Speaker 3: either going to be Devin Lloyd, kwit Walker, Na Kobe
- 0:59Speaker 3: Dean Deans missed so much time, Like his tape is phenomenal,
- 1:06Speaker 3: Like he's just he's not a liability. Coverage is not
- 1:11Speaker 3: great out, but he's gotten better. He's a Blitzer's phenomenal Blitzer,
- 1:15Speaker 3: one of the most instinctive inside backers in the National
- 1:17Speaker 3: Football League. Super smart, really, he's been so much better
- 1:22Speaker 3: than anyone thought he could be. And the thing is man.
- 1:26Speaker 3: He's overcome back to back devastating injuries Liz Frank complete
- 1:32Speaker 3: rupture and torn for Teller ten and this is I
- 1:36Speaker 3: don't know if this has ever happened before, back to
- 1:38Speaker 3: back years. Yeah, and you know, he thought he could
- 1:41Speaker 3: play Week one, but you know, you have to be
- 1:44Speaker 3: out a certain amount of time for everything to heal up.
- 1:46Speaker 3: And he was great. He put Jahab Cambe on the bench,
- 1:49Speaker 3: which was surprising. As we said at the time, you
- 1:51Speaker 3: can't play both, can't play three of them. But the
- 1:54Speaker 3: guy that when I'm playing was not with the way
- 1:55Speaker 3: we saw. We thought Campbell would keep the job. He didn't.
- 1:58Speaker 3: And you know, VIT's going to play the best guy
- 2:00Speaker 3: gives him a chance to win, so he's up there.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Devin Lloyd finally had the kind of season people were expecting.
- 2:07Speaker 3: He was headed to bus Field before last season. Had
- 2:08Speaker 3: a good season. Kwai Walker really good player. Packers. Matt
- 2:13Speaker 3: Malono one of the better covers linebackers in the league,
- 2:16Speaker 3: but he's had a ton of arm injuries.
- 2:18Speaker 2: That The.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Linebacker position overall, pure linebacker off the ball, whether it's
- 2:27Speaker 3: a thirty four inside backer, forty three week side, strong
- 2:30Speaker 3: side or middle or Mike. It's a high injury rate
- 2:34Speaker 3: position because of all the traffic. Arm injuries, pectoral, biceps,
- 2:41Speaker 3: broken arm, you name it, arm, chest, a lot, a
- 2:44Speaker 3: lot of them. Milonas just had a terrible, terrible luck.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Alexander Angeloni is a good player. I remember from the
- 2:49Speaker 3: Saints and the Lions.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I always liked him. Yep.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Quinny Williams brother Quincy got bench least season, They got
- 2:55Speaker 3: his job back. See the drop off that. Then you
- 2:58Speaker 3: see the guys who are older tomorrow Davis on that
- 3:02Speaker 3: borderline of the Hall of Fame player all round, great dude, yep,
- 3:05Speaker 3: remember the senior ball. Katan nellis yet another one of
- 3:09Speaker 3: Luther Ellis's sons.
- 3:11Speaker 2: So wait, how many of them? Because so Christian Cayden
- 3:14Speaker 2: and there's another one, right, Yeah.
- 3:16Speaker 3: I think there are four of them, if I'm not mistaken.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Well, Noah was trying to I don't think he's in
- 3:20Speaker 1: the league. He tried to get it with the Eagles.
- 3:22Speaker 1: He was a big mask.
- 3:23Speaker 3: But that's yeah, he'd be one of the four.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yeah. I forget who the third one is, but yeah,
- 3:28Speaker 2: that's amazing. Go ahead, yep, yeah, yep.
- 3:31Speaker 3: So Alex Singleton, who's done a good job of coming
- 3:34Speaker 3: off with the a c Andreana's illness. Atlanta Roberts has
- 3:37Speaker 3: got to be well into his thirties. And a guy
- 3:41Speaker 3: was drafted by Mark Dominic with the GM before Jason
- 3:45Speaker 3: Light with the Bucks, Levante David another borderline Hall of
- 3:49Speaker 3: Fame player.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 3:51Speaker 3: Logan Wilson Man. Logan Wilson is a guy who was
- 3:54Speaker 3: so good early in his career at the Bengals. They
- 3:56Speaker 3: changed scheme, He got benched, gets straighted to Dallas. He
- 3:59Speaker 3: can't get off the scrap like they would not play him.
- 4:01Speaker 3: They caught him. What a foot Dallas. For all the
- 4:06Speaker 3: bluster for Jerry Jones, we're gonna do this, We're gonna
- 4:08Speaker 3: do that. I fell to see it in Victories. It's
- 4:11Speaker 3: another miss.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I mean, look, these are all a lot of these
- 4:15Speaker 1: guys at them. I mean, just to show you what
- 4:17Speaker 1: you just said about how quickly you can drop off,
- 4:20Speaker 1: I mean a lot of these guys you're talking about
- 4:22Speaker 1: were day one.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Or dates, early day two picks.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Oh, almost all of them on your point. Devin White
- 4:28Speaker 3: first round for the Bucks, yep, and a zillion tackles
- 4:31Speaker 3: for the Raiders, and by the way, tackles is a
- 4:34Speaker 3: terrible way to evaluate a player. Terrible, terrible. I've been
- 4:39Speaker 3: told this for years, and I didn't know that when
- 4:41Speaker 3: I first started covering league early two thousands, but I
- 4:44Speaker 3: would learn from talking to coaches that's like literally nothing
- 4:46Speaker 3: to do with it. It's what the tape tells you. Is
- 4:49Speaker 3: he imposition?
- 4:50Speaker 2: Mm hmm?
- 4:52Speaker 3: Did he wrap up technique instinctive that you know all
- 4:57Speaker 3: the stuff that matters?
- 4:58Speaker 2: Yep.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Like if you're in a bad team and you're on
- 5:01Speaker 3: the on the field all the time, well that you're
- 5:02Speaker 3: gonna get a lot of tackles. You have to know that,
- 5:04Speaker 3: and you have to know how the flow is of
- 5:06Speaker 3: the scheme. Bobby Wagner, he's gonna be in the Hall
- 5:10Speaker 3: of Fame for sure.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Uh. Devin Bush, Yeah, it's so funny you mention all
- 5:15Speaker 3: these these got first rounders. Devin Bush, who never worked
- 5:17Speaker 3: out with Pittsburgh. Keathy Murray was a bus for the Titans.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Shaq Thompson was a good player for the Panthers as
- 5:23Speaker 3: the first rounder. He's near the end of his great career.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Christian Harrison never made it. I believe it was the
- 5:27Speaker 3: second round pick for the Texans and then this guy,
- 5:31Speaker 3: I'll tell you what he sucked here. But Eric Wilson's
- 5:34Speaker 3: not a bad player.
- 5:36Speaker 2: It's amazing he's still hanging around. I mean, yeah, yep.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Yeah, Jermaine Pratt, I know you've liked who was with
- 5:41Speaker 3: the Colts last season.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Yesh played a lot.
- 5:45Speaker 3: I mean, there are twenty more guys here, like Leo
- 5:48Speaker 3: Chanel's a physical, strong sidelinebacker. He's an okay player. Jack Gibbons,
- 5:52Speaker 3: who's a backup Mike. You know, he's least he's available.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Zach Cunningham for Eagle. Anthony Walker is an older player,
- 5:59Speaker 3: is probably gonna be a which when he's done. Eric Hendricks.
- 6:02Speaker 3: The list goes on and on and on, right, but
- 6:06Speaker 3: they're not a lot of there. In fact, when we
- 6:08Speaker 3: go through the list, the young starters would be Dean
- 6:11Speaker 3: Lloyd Walker. Other than that, Quincy Williams to a degree,
- 6:17Speaker 3: e J Speed to a degree. That's really it, man,
- 6:20Speaker 3: it's not. It's then the Eagles, for the first time
- 6:23Speaker 3: in like a decade, are actually super deep at linebacker.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Mm hm.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Even if Dean walks, which is which is where the
- 6:31Speaker 3: smart money is, still got Bond, You still got Campbell
- 6:35Speaker 3: who would start? You still got trot Juti and who
- 6:36Speaker 3: they like is a third smile bond in who's got
- 6:40Speaker 3: length will be the fourth. I mean that they don't
- 6:42Speaker 3: need to do anything in ins that backer. I mean,
- 6:44Speaker 3: maybe you need to have five to go to training camp,
- 6:46Speaker 3: but that's it. So they being still be in great shape.
- 6:49Speaker 2: So let's talk about Nikobe for a second.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Do we have this conversation yet on this pod about
- 6:54Speaker 1: the whole Isaac Samhlu situation?
- 6:56Speaker 2: Do we talk about that?
- 6:58Speaker 3: I thought we didn't, which was what again, Remimi, Well,
- 7:02Speaker 3: when we.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Went to the Combine the year that Samalu was like
- 7:05Speaker 1: twenty seventeen eighty was a free agent teams. We had
- 7:08Speaker 1: a couple of teams tell us, oh, yeah, he's the
- 7:09Speaker 1: number one guy on our board at that position. And
- 7:13Speaker 1: ordinarily when someone's number one on the board, they're going
- 7:15Speaker 1: to get a pretty good market deal. And Samalo had
- 7:18Speaker 1: to wait two weeks before signing a three year deal
- 7:21Speaker 1: for like eight million.
- 7:22Speaker 2: It was a blow market deal for the player that
- 7:24Speaker 2: he was.
- 7:25Speaker 1: And the reason was because despite his high ranking on boards,
- 7:29Speaker 1: he was a player that had a lot of medical
- 7:32Speaker 1: red flags. He had missed basically almost I think he
- 7:35Speaker 1: played twelve games combined in two years before the year
- 7:38Speaker 1: that he played seventeen games, and then even two years
- 7:41Speaker 1: before that he had an injury, So he dealt a
- 7:43Speaker 1: lot of injuries, right, And so it's hard not to
- 7:45Speaker 1: look at the Nakobe Dean situation and say, I could
- 7:48Speaker 1: absolutely see this guy being the number one off ball
- 7:51Speaker 1: linebacker on plenty of teams boards, especially if that's a
- 7:55Speaker 1: three to four team that's playing some semblance of the
- 7:58Speaker 1: Fangio defense. Right, just look at the tape. You would
- 8:01Speaker 1: salivate to have that guy. But the medical red flags
- 8:06Speaker 1: and we know how good he's come back and played well,
- 8:08Speaker 1: But so did say I'm all over that year. But
- 8:10Speaker 1: the medical red flags may give pause to just how
- 8:16Speaker 1: many years and just how much money structure would like
- 8:19Speaker 1: to And so it might be a situation.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I doubt it. We'll see.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Sometimes a guy will say, if the market's not good,
- 8:27Speaker 1: I'll just sign a one year deal with maybe one
- 8:30Speaker 1: team or maybe the team I was just with this case,
- 8:32Speaker 1: the Eagle's right, Well, I don't know how it will happen.
- 8:34Speaker 1: One guy told me they got to get you hot
- 8:36Speaker 1: Campbell on the field, which is a fair statement, So
- 8:38Speaker 1: I get it. But you might want to sign a
- 8:40Speaker 1: one year deal show you could stay healthy a second
- 8:43Speaker 1: year so that you can then get that quote unquote
- 8:46Speaker 1: market resetting deal or big money the following year.
- 8:49Speaker 2: That might be his best path. I don't know.
- 8:51Speaker 3: Yeah, the the odds are we don't do odds ever,
- 8:54Speaker 3: but you know it's one of our rules here. Things
- 8:56Speaker 3: could change the Laate within thirty seconds. But to me,
- 9:01Speaker 3: if you're na Kobe Dean, you're in the premier career.
- 9:05Speaker 3: You got to go somewhere where you're not going to
- 9:07Speaker 3: share time. You're gonna go on as a starter. Now,
- 9:10Speaker 3: you never say never. What we've learned in the this
- 9:13Speaker 3: is our ninth year of the show, you never say never.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Odds are significantly against it because it's because of joh Campbell.
- 9:19Speaker 3: Let me tell you something. If if Dean couldn't get
- 9:22Speaker 3: his deal right, and the Eagles kept the door open
- 9:24Speaker 3: with him and his agent Mike McCartney and whoever, I
- 9:28Speaker 3: think he's got two agents, but he changed agencies. He
- 9:30Speaker 3: went with the Vaynerchuk if he if he went, if
- 9:35Speaker 3: he came back, he's winning that like if he's healthy,
- 9:38Speaker 3: because he just did it. I mean it was an
- 9:40Speaker 3: in season competition. It was basically who looked better and
- 9:43Speaker 3: and Dean looked better. You know, you didn't know that
- 9:45Speaker 3: coming in because no one knew what he goes, knew
- 9:48Speaker 3: rehab wise how well he was doing. But I'll tell
- 9:50Speaker 3: you play you have no idea, no matter what anyone
- 9:51Speaker 3: tells you, you don't know. It's what he plays and he
- 9:54Speaker 3: was lights out. It's to miss all of that time.
- 9:56Speaker 3: It's just hard to believe. It's something we've not seen before.
- 10:00Speaker 3: And it's a remarkable recovering story. And he's just a
- 10:03Speaker 3: great football player and he's better than Campbell what he
- 10:06Speaker 3: does now Campbell has upside in other words, because he's
- 10:09Speaker 3: much bigger physically.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yep.
- 10:11Speaker 3: But we'll see what happens.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Yeah, now you know, the big panic in the Delaware
- 10:16Speaker 1: Valley is that he's going to wind up signing with the.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Cowboys because of talking about that for Christian, Yeah, with
- 10:23Speaker 2: Christian Parker.
- 10:24Speaker 1: I'll tell you what though, if I was Todd Bowles,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I'm losing Levante David. I love to blitz my linebackers,
- 10:31Speaker 1: you know, after Levante, I don't. I don't haven't looked
- 10:33Speaker 1: at the roster. I know, Servasier, Dennis, They had to
- 10:35Speaker 1: rely on a little last year. I feel like that
- 10:37Speaker 1: guy is the perfect fit for what I do. I'm
- 10:39Speaker 1: watching tape and they don't don't have.
- 10:41Speaker 3: To really, Yeah, they have nothing. It's under contract. It's
- 10:45Speaker 3: Servasier Dennis, one of the all time names, great name.
- 10:48Speaker 3: And they brought Dion Jones in from the scrap heap,
- 10:51Speaker 3: you know, former Falcons, who's a lot. Yeah, Anthony Walker
- 10:55Speaker 3: is off the scrap peep I was talking about earlier.
- 10:57Speaker 3: It's like super smart might be a coach. They just
- 11:00Speaker 3: don't And David, Yeah, that would be a good spot
- 11:03Speaker 3: for him.
- 11:03Speaker 1: I mean, because you can't operate that defense the way
- 11:06Speaker 1: Todd does without good linebackers.
- 11:07Speaker 2: He's always had a good linebackers.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Yeah, well let's let's stay in the division, right, So
- 11:12Speaker 3: this is this is this is a good way to
- 11:14Speaker 3: look at it. Keth Barty didn't work out in that
- 11:16Speaker 3: trade over shown. They continue to say it's going to
- 11:18Speaker 3: be ready to go. Jack Sanborn's up, who's a pretty
- 11:21Speaker 3: good backup. They have nothing, So that to me, because
- 11:27Speaker 3: you want someone who knows the defense. Ye if I'm
- 11:30Speaker 3: if I'm Christian Parker, I am telling Jerry Jones, Stephen
- 11:33Speaker 3: Jones and Stephen Jones and Will McLay the personal director.
- 11:37Speaker 3: I gotta have my guy who's gonna run this defense.
- 11:39Speaker 3: That's to the Kobe. He'll wear the green dot. I
- 11:41Speaker 3: want him. Let's get this done.
- 11:43Speaker 2: It's a great point.
- 11:44Speaker 1: You know, with no more Micah and no more DeMarcus
- 11:47Speaker 1: Lawrence and all the changes they've been in the secondary,
- 11:50Speaker 1: that team needs a tone setter, not just a great player,
- 11:53Speaker 1: but a tone setter, someone who knows the.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Defense, a glue guy.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I hate to say it for the people who are
- 11:58Speaker 1: listening who are Eagles fans, but he can be a
- 12:01Speaker 1: culture changer for the Cowboys defense.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Oh my god, I needed one for so long.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah, because the character of that team, particularly on defense. Yep,
- 12:10Speaker 3: they draft for flash, but they don't draft for character.
- 12:14Speaker 3: And that is going on for decades. Talking to councils,
- 12:17Speaker 3: coaches who've worked there for the Cowboys, there's not much
- 12:21Speaker 3: you can do, man, not much you can do. It's
- 12:24Speaker 3: like they have what they have. They draft a specific way.
- 12:28Speaker 3: But Jerry Jones says he's going to bust the bank.
- 12:30Speaker 3: That's his new quote. You know, he has a new
- 12:31Speaker 3: phrase every year, And yeah, exactly, so well, and what
- 12:36Speaker 3: I find comical. Now, the big, the big rumors that
- 12:39Speaker 3: they're gonna go after micka Fitzpatrick. But the Steelers could
- 12:42Speaker 3: wait to trade to the Dolphins.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Yeah, two years too late on that deal.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, he's he turns thirty in November. He's
- 12:51Speaker 3: nowhere near the player he once was. Like, he was
- 12:53Speaker 3: special when he was a playmaker, he was big time
- 12:56Speaker 3: and then he just lost it. Yep, you know, so
- 13:00Speaker 3: let let all the I'm sure all the other NFC
- 13:04Speaker 3: teams love that Jerry Jones still has the team and
- 13:07Speaker 3: he's their general matter makes all the decisions. Mm hmm.
- 13:10Speaker 3: This is why they can't win. Now, the Giants at linebacker,
- 13:13Speaker 3: they're super light. Now, if they cut Bobby o'cake, who's
- 13:17Speaker 3: got a roster bonus coming up, they caught him. They
- 13:19Speaker 3: got nothing there. They're next to the Michael mcfatten's up.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Darris masseau is would be a starter. That's all they got.
- 13:28Speaker 3: So that's a team that comparatively the Eagles. Eagles are
- 13:32Speaker 3: in great shape. And then you got the Commandos. We
- 13:34Speaker 3: mentioned Bobby Wagner, you know, Louvu would start. They're gonna
- 13:38Speaker 3: they're gonna, by the way, they're gonna run A thirty four.
- 13:40Speaker 3: As I understand it, Jordan McGee has been a good
- 13:41Speaker 3: story out of Temple.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Yes, yes, list we have to get younger, they have to.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yeah, yeah, they know that they're the Alose teams. Yeah.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Adam Peters did acknowledge that they know they have to
- 13:52Speaker 3: get younger. H So yeah, I mean they're a team
- 13:56Speaker 3: that's in transition. Man.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:59Speaker 1: I think n Kobe like it is a good fit
- 14:01Speaker 1: for them, but they need to get younger and they
- 14:04Speaker 1: need to be healthy. And I think, you know, if
- 14:06Speaker 1: they did a one year deal that and that was
- 14:08Speaker 1: the best Nikoby can get. Okay, But you know, if
- 14:11Speaker 1: I'm them, I'm thinking of I need, you know, maybe
- 14:13Speaker 1: more Devin Lloyd. I need someone who's young and the
- 14:16Speaker 1: track record's staying healthy and can make some plays.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Hey, Philly fans game day is stressful enough. Parking, traffic,

- 16:25Speaker 3: Yeah, what's happening?
- 16:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:28Speaker 1: The one thing I'll say, I remember watching tape of
- 16:30Speaker 1: the Eagles Raiders game, and I think Cossell would back
- 16:34Speaker 1: me up on this too. I thought Roberts Landon Roberts
- 16:37Speaker 1: played a deeper game that day. I feel like he's
- 16:39Speaker 1: a sneaky good player. Again, if you're he's not gonna
- 16:43Speaker 1: be a great player, probo player, but he can go
- 16:45Speaker 1: in and help you. If you're a defense that needs
- 16:47Speaker 1: a guy like that, he can play.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Yeah, He's been on a number of teams. He just
- 16:52Speaker 3: gets the job done.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Yep.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Yeah, he is thirty. He turns thirty two in April. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:01Speaker 3: remember from the Dolphins and.
- 17:03Speaker 2: US Yep, you know, no good player.
- 17:07Speaker 1: And the only other thing that really jumps out of
- 17:09Speaker 1: me from the conversation that you you know, something you
- 17:11Speaker 1: brought up about how guys kind of like up and
- 17:14Speaker 1: down is that it's very strange to me how off
- 17:16Speaker 1: ball linebackers and I do think that part of the
- 17:18Speaker 1: position you talked about the traffic that you're the pounding
- 17:21Speaker 1: on your body year after year at this position, it's
- 17:24Speaker 1: it's not only fast how how quickly they can decline,
- 17:27Speaker 1: but sometimes these guys are like year to year to
- 17:30Speaker 1: year to year in a way that like middle relievers
- 17:32Speaker 1: are in baseball. You know, I can't tell you what
- 17:35Speaker 1: happened to Quincy Williams. He was a pretty good looking
- 17:37Speaker 1: linebacker and then all of a sudden he's getting.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Benched and new head coach. Part of it is the
- 17:43Speaker 2: tea Yeah.
- 17:44Speaker 3: New scheme, new head coach Aaron Glenn now will call
- 17:47Speaker 3: the players by the way he's going to call the players,
- 17:49Speaker 3: try to save his job. Uh, yeah, it's you. Alex
- 17:53Speaker 3: Singleton became a player for Denver a different scheme. They
- 17:56Speaker 3: had him playing so far back. I was told like
- 17:59Speaker 3: off the line of Scrimma, she was a little bit
- 18:00Speaker 3: farther back to typically you would for a linebacker. Did
- 18:03Speaker 3: more care in Philly, but then to Denver they playedhi
- 18:05Speaker 3: closer and he played very well. Yep, I made a
- 18:08Speaker 3: lot of money, did a good job. I mean again,
- 18:10Speaker 3: it's it's very top heavy. A lot of these positions
- 18:13Speaker 3: on defense are top heavy for free.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Very much, so very much.
- 18:17Speaker 1: It's really it's a really interesting group. I'm very fascinated
- 18:20Speaker 1: to see where some of these guys go. And again,
- 18:25Speaker 1: like we said, I guess with d tackle it is
- 18:27Speaker 1: a buyer. You can wait your team and you need
- 18:29Speaker 1: a little bit of depth at linebacker, somebody that maybe
- 18:33Speaker 1: if you need to win a game or to win
- 18:34Speaker 1: your confident and you can probably wait a couple of
- 18:36Speaker 1: weeks before you you have to sign any of these guys.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Yeah, and what before you get out here. It is
- 18:41Speaker 3: really interesting. You see some of these first round picks
- 18:43Speaker 3: were so hyped by DRFT analysts and fans. Oh, Kenneth
- 18:47Speaker 3: Murray was the guy right out of tex A and
- 18:49Speaker 3: m yes had trouble processing and he just he couldn't
- 18:52Speaker 3: get it with Tennessee.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Devin Bush was a very high player, never really made it. Now,
- 18:59Speaker 3: Devin White started off incredibly while became an All Pro
- 19:02Speaker 3: early in his career, and then he just lost it
- 19:05Speaker 3: here in Philly. Couldn't get on the field. Victim won
- 19:06Speaker 3: him clearly. I mean, he didn't want him on the field, right,
- 19:10Speaker 3: you know. And it's just that again, there's a reason
- 19:13Speaker 3: why these guys make it to Freezy. But to Mario Davis,
- 19:17Speaker 3: it's just I mean, he's one of the all time
- 19:20Speaker 3: great players. Man, he's uh, it's off football linebacker. It's
- 19:24Speaker 3: tough for the Hall of Fame, you know. But he
- 19:27Speaker 3: is thirty seven years old. That is absolutely unheard of.
- 19:31Speaker 3: He just turned thirty seven. I just Arkansas State second
- 19:35Speaker 3: round or twenty twelve by the Saints, I mean by
- 19:38Speaker 3: the Jets. Know what happened was I remember he moved
- 19:41Speaker 3: on from the Jets, that went to the Browns and
- 19:44Speaker 3: then went back to the Jets, and we're like, why
- 19:46Speaker 3: does he keep moving on?
- 19:48Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 19:49Speaker 3: Then he became a great player for the Saints. Just
- 19:51Speaker 3: phenomenal football player.
- 19:53Speaker 1: He is a physical specimen of a football player, by
- 19:57Speaker 1: the way. I mean, that's probably why he can still
- 19:59Speaker 1: play it thirty seven. He is a yulked up, rocked
- 20:02Speaker 1: up dude.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Great dude, I've heard.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you know what, he might be the modern
- 20:09Speaker 1: not built the same way, the modern day Blood and Fletcher.
- 20:11Speaker 1: You can just play and play and play and get
- 20:14Speaker 1: the job done and get the job done and get
- 20:15Speaker 1: the job done.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Yeah, he's he's he's really good. What a great career.
- 20:20Speaker 3: It's literally on it. I mean for a linebacker to
- 20:22Speaker 3: play by thirty three thirty four's kind of unheard of,
- 20:25Speaker 3: right thirty if he hasn't hung it up yet, if
- 20:29Speaker 3: he still plays, I just I remember when he got
- 20:33Speaker 3: added on a Sunday night at the Senior Bowl because
- 20:37Speaker 3: they need an extra linebacker. I mean, that's how under
- 20:40Speaker 3: the Raidar's from Arkansas State?
- 20:43Speaker 2: Is that Scotty pippin No, Central Arkansas? I think it's
- 20:46Speaker 2: Scotty Piping?
- 20:46Speaker 3: All right?
- 20:47Speaker 2: Yeah, well all right, we will see.
- 20:49Speaker 1: That's a that's a good look right now with the
- 20:51Speaker 1: off ball linebacker spot. And then I guess we're gonna
- 20:54Speaker 1: finish this thing off with the corners in safeties pretty soon.
- 20:57Speaker 1: And yet you know the next thing, you know, it's uh,
- 21:00Speaker 1: it's that magic Monday where everything starts.
- 21:02Speaker 2: For free agency, That's gonna do it.
