- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm packing right now for a trip to Delumia Forest.
- 0:04Speaker 1: It's a place that I nearly included in my terrifying
- 0:06Speaker 1: forest video. It's a large ancient English forest and there's
- 0:10Speaker 1: many stories attached to it. It's got a really long
- 0:14Speaker 1: and bloody history that's been quite a few big battles
- 0:16Speaker 1: around the forest and within the forest itself, going back
- 0:20Speaker 1: as far as the Anglo-Saxon era. For many years it
- 0:23Speaker 1: was also prowled by various highwaymen and they wouldn't rob
- 0:26Speaker 1: and murder people as they passed through the forest. When
- 0:30Speaker 1: it's got a dark history like that there's always going
- 0:32Speaker 1: to be ghost stories but there's quite a few that
- 0:34Speaker 1: reoccur over the years. There's one about a white lady
- 0:38Speaker 1: that is seen walking one of the trails and she's
- 0:41Speaker 1: when spotted will float up into the trees and disappear.
- 0:44Speaker 1: There's also a ghostly horse-drawn carriage which has been seen
- 0:47Speaker 1: by many people. There's also been sightings of UFOs and
- 0:52Speaker 1: strange lights which are seen to hover among the trees.
- 0:55Speaker 1: There's been an encounter of a large black dog that
- 0:58Speaker 1: sounds like black shuck. There's also been sightings of strange
- 1:02Speaker 1: hooded figures coming out of the trees in the middle
- 1:05Speaker 1: of the night. This has led to rumors that there's
- 1:08Speaker 1: some kind of satanic cult operating in the forest. There's
- 1:12Speaker 1: also been recorded quite a lot of suicides in the forest.
- 1:16Speaker 1: There are also lakes which are quite dangerous to swim
- 1:18Speaker 1: in and a number of people have drowned there. In
- 1:22Speaker 1: the 70s there was a triple murder. Three campers were
- 1:25Speaker 1: shot to death. A guy called Michael Bassett was driving
- 1:29Speaker 1: through the forest to drunk he'd stolen a rifle from
- 1:32Speaker 1: a fairground in North Wales and he was driving through
- 1:34Speaker 1: and spotted these campers. Got out of his car and
- 1:38Speaker 1: shot them dead, lying there in their tents. But I
- 1:42Speaker 1: wanted to set the scene for this interesting camping experience.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I don't really expect to capture anything on camera. It
- 1:50Speaker 1: would be a nice bonus if I do. I'm going
- 1:53Speaker 1: to take the trail camera and the night vision camera.
- 1:56Speaker 1: But mostly this is a video just about facing my fears,
- 2:00Speaker 1: going out into the wild, the unknown and just experiencing
- 2:03Speaker 1: the forest alone in the middle of the night and
- 2:05Speaker 1: just seeing what it's all about. Because I've never done
- 2:09Speaker 1: anything like this before. It is something that actually scares
- 2:13Speaker 1: me quite a lot the idea of it. So it
- 2:16Speaker 1: would be interesting to see if I manage to face
- 2:18Speaker 1: my fears. So anyone going to continue packing and we'll
- 2:22Speaker 1: see what happens. Hi, hello everyone. I'm here in Delhi
- 2:27Speaker 1: Mayor Forest. I'm not very far away from the road
- 2:31Speaker 1: at the minute. I'm going to try and find somewhere
- 2:34Speaker 1: to camp for the night. This is my first time
- 2:37Speaker 1: ever doing anything like this and I'll be honest and
- 2:40Speaker 1: kind of cracking my pants. I think maybe over there
- 2:43Speaker 1: somewhere the thing is I planned to get here a
- 2:45Speaker 1: lot earlier than this. It's going to get dark in
- 2:49Speaker 1: about half an hour. So the traffic on the way
- 2:52Speaker 1: down was so terrible that we ended up about two
- 2:54Speaker 1: hours late. This is completely new to me and the
- 2:58Speaker 1: idea of having to set up a tent in the
- 3:00Speaker 1: middle of the night in the dark. I feel horribly unprepared.
- 3:05Speaker 1: I'm kind of out of breath but I think that's
- 3:07Speaker 1: just an anxiety in the past. I've had really bad
- 3:11Speaker 1: anxiety and I was on medication for a long time
- 3:13Speaker 1: and I've stopped taking it about a month or two ago.
- 3:17Speaker 1: So this is kind of a test of my anxiety
- 3:19Speaker 1: levels without medication. Doing something completely out of my comfort zone.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I've got to say my heart was beating fast coming
- 3:28Speaker 1: down here. So we'll see it's like it's won this
- 3:31Speaker 1: place and this trail seems quite nice but I want
- 3:33Speaker 1: to kind of pick up the pace, try and find
- 3:36Speaker 1: somewhere to camp. I don't want to be too close
- 3:39Speaker 1: to the road. The light is feeling fast and that's
- 3:42Speaker 1: my biggest worry. What I really wanted to do was
- 3:46Speaker 1: get here really early and scout out the place completely.
- 3:50Speaker 1: But at the moment it's just the case I find
- 3:52Speaker 1: somewhere quick. I can get the tent up. Okay so
- 3:56Speaker 1: this looks like a good place to dive out from
- 3:58Speaker 1: the track. I think I can't really tell where I am.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Even looking at Google Maps. Trying to find a way
- 4:07Speaker 1: through all this. Oh shit. What the hell am I doing?
- 4:12Speaker 1: Okay I've just seen the end of this green hill.
- 4:16Speaker 1: While I just walked through I thought I was finding
- 4:18Speaker 1: somewhere off the beaten track and there's a bloody path
- 4:20Speaker 1: all the way through. God damn it. Let's try and
- 4:25Speaker 1: be here a little bit. Yeah I think I'm going
- 4:27Speaker 1: to have to just set up camp wherever I'm not to.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Like I am quite far off on the path. I
- 4:34Speaker 1: mean some kind of weird clearing area. It looks nice
- 4:38Speaker 1: and clear. I don't know how close I am to
- 4:41Speaker 1: any path. I keep thinking I'm going into the middle
- 4:45Speaker 1: of nowhere and then all of a sudden off the path.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Oh shit. I'm going to panic. Okay alright you guys
- 4:53Speaker 1: I've got the tent to set up. I did not
- 4:56Speaker 1: bring any bugs but I'm probably going to catch them
- 4:58Speaker 1: all area so that's good. Okay the panic is slightly subsided.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I think giving myself something to do was kind of
- 5:06Speaker 1: helped a little bit. You know I've just gotten them
- 5:09Speaker 1: all right right I've got to get this tent up.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Okay so there's a bit dark now. Let me just
- 5:16Speaker 1: tent a bit lit up. But off the night it's
- 5:19Speaker 1: pitch black so we'll go into the night vision and
- 5:21Speaker 1: also over here I've got some fits set up. I'll
- 5:24Speaker 1: probably see light up now because I'm moving in front
- 5:27Speaker 1: of the trail camp set up here. Which hopefully if
- 5:30Speaker 1: anything comes near the tent I'll get a good picture
- 5:33Speaker 1: of it. Just had an owl fly right over the
- 5:36Speaker 1: top just land on the branch and just sort of
- 5:38Speaker 1: sit there staring at me. I just heard a scream
- 5:41Speaker 1: in the night. Hey probably with a fox. Yeah my
- 5:46Speaker 1: head voice is broke. I mean people walking through the
- 5:50Speaker 1: forest at about 10 o'clock at night. I don't mind
- 5:53Speaker 1: being out when I'm outside. I can see around me
- 5:57Speaker 1: it's fine but I don't like being in the tent.
- 6:00Speaker 1: I feel like I'm trapped in there. You know what
- 6:03Speaker 1: I mean I can't see around me. And I've got
- 6:06Speaker 1: I usually got my phone on my light on so
- 6:08Speaker 1: it's like I feel like I'm all lit up. Okay
- 6:11Speaker 1: so it's 10 past midnight. Thought it'd be good to
- 6:15Speaker 1: come out into which hour and see what was happening.
- 6:18Speaker 1: That light over there is my trail camp going off
- 6:21Speaker 1: because I'm walking around. So I can't see a single
- 6:24Speaker 1: thing but from what's on the camera. I did hear
- 6:28Speaker 1: a massive crack like something big moving around. The thing
- 6:32Speaker 1: is the tent. I've got the light on in there.
- 6:36Speaker 1: It just makes me realize how lit up I am
- 6:38Speaker 1: in the pitch black forest. If someone was stalking through
- 6:42Speaker 1: the woods they'd see me lit up like a Christmas tree.
- 6:45Speaker 1: He's going crazy. What's that? There's some reason I thought
- 6:50Speaker 1: it's our horned figure at the end of that. See
- 6:53Speaker 1: if we got that gap there. But I don't think so.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I can come to get me. I can see it
- 7:00Speaker 1: lit up now. See that green light? If you imagine
- 7:05Speaker 1: what I can actually say is complete pitch darkness and
- 7:08Speaker 1: then that green thing just lit up. I don't know.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I just feel vulnerable. So if there's anyone present, if
- 7:16Speaker 1: you want to make yourself known, if you can stand
- 7:19Speaker 1: over there by that tree. Did you see that? That's
- 7:23Speaker 1: a shimmering light there. The shimmer in here as well,
- 7:27Speaker 1: but they're like dark shape there. If anyone wants to speak,
- 7:31Speaker 1: you can speak into my phone or into the camera.
- 7:34Speaker 1: It's just here to record. I get some ghosts who knows.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Something just there. I thought I just like a little
- 7:43Speaker 1: cleanser screen. I thought I saw something like something that
- 7:46Speaker 1: was probably an animal just my imagination. I just think
- 7:50Speaker 1: it's going to be something different. I don't think I
- 7:53Speaker 1: should be walking through this in the dark. Try climbing
- 7:57Speaker 1: up here. Okay, the tent's over there now. I thought
- 8:02Speaker 1: I'd lost it. I don't want it. It's just this
- 8:06Speaker 1: sensation of being watched. I mean, I must be being
- 8:10Speaker 1: watched by creatures. So you can hear movement, but... Hello?
- 8:16Speaker 1: Anyone there? I've just heard the noise that sounded like
- 8:20Speaker 1: someone was scratching themselves. How much if you're like scratched
- 8:24Speaker 1: you in there? I've kind of been some kind of
- 8:27Speaker 1: insect or animal. Just every noise. Okay, well, I'm going
- 8:33Speaker 1: to come back out at 3 a.m. and have another
- 8:35Speaker 1: look around. But this has been my midnight, my midnight vigil,
- 8:40Speaker 1: I guess you could call it. There is something outside
- 8:43Speaker 1: the tent. I can hear it. What is that noise?
- 8:48Speaker 1: All right, good morning everyone. It is about 6 a.m.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I did mean to do a bit more recording at 3am,
- 8:57Speaker 1: but I fell asleep. I put up the tent and
- 9:00Speaker 1: then go for a walk. Alright. Alright guys, I'm on
- 9:05Speaker 1: the way back to the forest. Just, that's been really
- 9:09Speaker 1: much of the... I'm on the stairway over here. And
- 9:13Speaker 1: I thought I just kept putting the camera on in
- 9:15Speaker 1: case I caught it. Oh my god, it's Digger off below.
- 9:21Speaker 1: I told you there was a monster around here. So
- 9:24Speaker 1: it was a fairly uneventful night all in all, but
- 9:27Speaker 1: a good learning experience. I learnt that when you're alone
- 9:30Speaker 1: in the forest at night, every sound seems to be
- 9:33Speaker 1: amplified about ten times, so every little rustle of leaves
- 9:36Speaker 1: sounds like an imminent threat. It was exciting camping alone,
- 9:41Speaker 1: but I think if you wanted to do a serious investigation,
- 9:44Speaker 1: you'd have to have more than one person. If I
- 9:47Speaker 1: stray too far from the tent, there'd be no way
- 9:49Speaker 1: for me to find my way back in the dark.
- 9:53Speaker 1: So I think if you had one more person who
- 9:54Speaker 1: could stay at the tent and then if you got lost,
- 9:57Speaker 1: you could call out to them or something like that.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Looking over the trail cam footage, not a lot was captured.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Not even any wildlife. I was convinced at one point
- 10:08Speaker 1: that there was something walking around the tent. I thought
- 10:12Speaker 1: I could hear like heavy footsteps, so I was excited
- 10:15Speaker 1: to check the trail cam because I thought for sure
- 10:17Speaker 1: there'd be at least a deer or a fox or
- 10:19Speaker 1: something captured, but there was nothing. I don't know what
- 10:23Speaker 1: was making those footsteps. I do only think there was
- 10:26Speaker 1: really captures of me getting in and out of the tent.
- 10:30Speaker 1: One weird thing is that I did emitting that investigation
- 10:33Speaker 1: and then what I wanted to do was get back
- 10:35Speaker 1: inside the tent and then get back out at 3
- 10:37Speaker 1: AM and do another investigation at 3 AM because that's
- 10:41Speaker 1: the time and night where all the weird things are
- 10:43Speaker 1: supposed to happen. But I fell asleep and completely missed it.
- 10:48Speaker 1: But then when I checked the trail cam recordings, there
- 10:50Speaker 1: is a video of me outside the tent shortly after
- 10:53Speaker 1: 3 AM and I've got no recollection of this at all.
- 10:57Speaker 1: To my knowledge, I don't sleep walk. I haven't done
- 11:00Speaker 1: it since I was a kid, so I don't know
- 11:02Speaker 1: what's happening here. I seem to be outside the tent
- 11:05Speaker 1: looking at something and I've got no memory of it
- 11:08Speaker 1: at all. Trail cam only records 30 seconds of footage,
- 11:12Speaker 1: so I assume I just walked around a bit and
- 11:14Speaker 1: looked off in the distance and then got back in
- 11:16Speaker 1: the tent. I don't know, I don't know what this is,
- 11:20Speaker 1: it's strange, but that's pretty much the only thing. Okay,
- 11:24Speaker 1: this is just a quick edit. I missed this when
- 11:27Speaker 1: I first looked through the trail cam footage. The way
- 11:31Speaker 1: the camera works is if it spots any movement, it
- 11:34Speaker 1: takes a photograph and then it records 30 seconds of video.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I was looking through the recordings and I assumed this
- 11:40Speaker 1: one had been set off by my shadow moving around
- 11:43Speaker 1: in the tent, but this is the still photograph that
- 11:45Speaker 1: it captured moments before and I know this isn't me
- 11:48Speaker 1: because I'm clearly in the tent. For my best guess,
- 11:52Speaker 1: it's some kind of leaf or something fall and passed
- 11:54Speaker 1: the camera. It must be really close to the camera
- 11:58Speaker 1: and it's just making a weird blurry mess that kind
- 12:00Speaker 1: of looks a bit weird. It almost looks like a face,
- 12:04Speaker 1: this could be an eye or something, but the mind
- 12:06Speaker 1: has a habit of making anything look like a face
- 12:09Speaker 1: if it can't identify it so it could be an
- 12:11Speaker 1: animal I suppose, but I don't really know what animal
- 12:13Speaker 1: it could be, it must be too close to the
- 12:16Speaker 1: camera to identify, my best guess is it's something falling
- 12:19Speaker 1: past the camera just looks a bit strange. I didn't
- 12:23Speaker 1: spot it until I was halfway through editing the recording
- 12:25Speaker 1: so I thought I should include it. So I hope
- 12:28Speaker 1: you enjoyed the recording. I think I did learn a
- 12:31Speaker 1: lot from this experience. The shame there wasn't more interesting
- 12:36Speaker 1: footage captured, but hopefully the future adventures won't be so
- 12:39Speaker 1: rushed and a bit more organized. For the most part
- 12:43Speaker 1: I'm limited to places that are quite near to me
- 12:45Speaker 1: unless it so happens that someone's traveling that way and
- 12:48Speaker 1: I can tag a lift with them. Thank you very
- 12:51Speaker 1: much for watching. Have you ever wondered if your house
- 12:54Speaker 1: is haunted? There is a spooky ritual game from Japan
- 12:58Speaker 1: that lets you see ghosts in your house. You don't
- 13:01Speaker 1: need any special tools or objects for the ritual. All
- 13:05Speaker 1: you need to do is sit quietly and follow my instructions.
- 13:10Speaker 1: First of all you need complete silence apart from the
- 13:12Speaker 1: sound of this case. Make sure there is no music
- 13:16Speaker 1: or television shows playing in the background. If you need
- 13:19Speaker 1: to pause the recording now to stop any sounds that
- 13:22Speaker 1: might distract you from the ritual. Secondly you need to
- 13:26Speaker 1: find somewhere comfortable to sit or lie down for a
- 13:28Speaker 1: short period of time. Again if you need to pause
- 13:32Speaker 1: the recording to find somewhere comfortable to relax do so
- 13:35Speaker 1: now before continuing. Now if you are in a quiet
- 13:38Speaker 1: and comfortable place close your eyes. Take a deep breath
- 13:42Speaker 1: in through your nose then out slowly through your mouth.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Another breath in through your nose and out again through
- 13:48Speaker 1: the mouth. Keep breathing at this pace. Feel yourself getting
- 13:53Speaker 1: more and more relaxed each time you breathe out. Your
- 13:57Speaker 1: body becoming more and more heavy. Your subconscious taking over.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Now pitch yourself standing outside. You are standing in front
- 14:07Speaker 1: of your home. It is night time. There are no
- 14:11Speaker 1: lights on it inside. Visualize yourself walking towards your house
- 14:16Speaker 1: and going in through the front door. Inside it is
- 14:19Speaker 1: dark but you can just about see in the darkness.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Now imagine yourself walking around your house clockwise. Visit each
- 14:27Speaker 1: room in order and open any windows that are in
- 14:29Speaker 1: those rooms. If your home has multiple floors start on
- 14:33Speaker 1: a lowest floor first then once all the windows are
- 14:36Speaker 1: open on that floor move on to the one above it.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Always moving in a clockwise fashion until all the windows
- 14:42Speaker 1: in your house are open. Make sure you inspect each
- 14:46Speaker 1: room as you enter it, looking around for anything unusual.
- 14:50Speaker 1: Take note of anything that you see that shouldn't be there.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Once you are finished opening the windows you need to
- 14:56Speaker 1: close them all again. This time move anti-clockwise through your
- 15:00Speaker 1: house starting on the top floor and working your way
- 15:02Speaker 1: down entering each room and closing the windows. Again be
- 15:06Speaker 1: sure to look around and inspect the room for anything
- 15:09Speaker 1: out of the ordinary. Take as long as you need
- 15:12Speaker 1: to do this. Don't rush just picture yourself walking calmly
- 15:16Speaker 1: through your house following these instructions. Once you are finished
- 15:20Speaker 1: and all the windows are closed again visualize yourself walking
- 15:23Speaker 1: out through the front door and closing it behind you.
