- 0:22SPEAKER_01: Is that what you call yourself?
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: That's the name of my blog, and it has been the name of my blog since 2012.
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: It's funny because on Instagram, I have tried to change my name since like several years ago.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: I still have the blog.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: So it's not like the blog is not still a thing, but I was I'm like one of those people that was verified a long time ago.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: And so Instagram's like, no, you have to always be this name.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Which is fine.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: I'll just always be my blog name, at least until Instagram gives us an option to do something differently.
- 0:56SPEAKER_00: But my business is called Wee Studio, and the blog is WeWe Girl.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: So it's all it all works.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Cause I was like, I know you have the other account that is WeWe Studio.
- 1:07SPEAKER_01: And I was like, oh no, what is it?
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: But I love that.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, what's what?
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: What's going on here?

- 2:07SPEAKER_01: Her work is a must for creatives and entrepreneurs looking to establish their dream businesses and achieve transformative success.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: So welcome to the podcast.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: Yay.
- 2:17SPEAKER_01: Thanks for having me.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I feel like I found you on Instagram a while ago.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: Um, just probably from like a viral reel or something.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: But ever since then, I've just loved being a part of your community.
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: And I feel so lucky that you had come on the podcast today.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Uh thanks.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Thanks for having me.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Thanks for hanging out with me on Instagram.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: It's it's a fun way to meet people still, all these many years later, after this app has been around, I still find I love meeting new internet friends on Instagram.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: Me too.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: I have met the coolest people through Instagram, like friends that I've met on Instagram, and then we've met in real life.
- 2:55SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, this is just crazy.
- 2:57SPEAKER_01: You always like see it happen, but then when it happened to me, I was like, these are awesome people, and it just opens you up to like such an amazing portal of just people.
- 3:06SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: I think so too.
- 3:08SPEAKER_01: I totally agree.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 3:10SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: Today we're gonna talk a little bit about AI, human design, content strategy, all of the juicy things.
- 3:17SPEAKER_01: Let's jump into AI.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: So I know you post a lot about this on Instagram, but how do you see small businesses leveraging AI right now?
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: I do, I do talk a lot about this on Instagram.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, I think the thing about AI is there's so many things it can do, there's so many types of AI.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: And sometimes when we talk about AI, people are just assuming it's like Chat GPT is it, like that's that is AI.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: And it is a type of AI, it's a large language model.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: But you can think about using AI, especially as a small business, in a couple of ways.
- 3:54SPEAKER_00: These are the ways I would use it.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: If you're like, I want to get started, but I'm not quite sure.
- 3:58SPEAKER_00: I would use it as my business strategist, pretend that this little robot is a robot with high-level knowledge around business and use it to help you strategize.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: That would be one way.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: You could certainly use it for financial support.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: So managing your finances as a small business, productivity.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: You could yes.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: I did not know that.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Anything that you're doing, like strategy or task-oriented things around, there are AI tools for that.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: And Chat GPT is getting better and better all the time.
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: So, for example, in that finance piece, you could take a breakdown.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Like, let's say you've got a summary of the last six months of your business.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: If you have a PL, great.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: But if you're not even at a point where you have a PL at this point, just take a summary snapshot of your sales for the last six months.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Feed that into Chat GPT, ask it to do an analysis, look at your sales, look at your expenses, make recommendations, resort things, recategorize things.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: It will do all of those things.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: So any type of strategy like that, it can do.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Um, productivity hacking, it can help you with customer service, it can help you with your marketing.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: I really could go on and on on all of the things that it can do.
- 5:18SPEAKER_00: It can help you with your copywriting, it can serve as a proofreader, it can help you with your content strategy, with your brand recommendations, research, all of those things.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: I honestly have never thought of it that way.
- 5:32SPEAKER_01: I mean, I've used AI, I've used ChatGPT, I feel like everyone uses that now, um, and copy AI, but I've never thought of it in this way that like it could just be your little like basically business partner.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I there's a guy that I follow actually.
- 5:49SPEAKER_00: His Instagram handle is Mr.
- 5:51SPEAKER_00: Grateful, and he he's definitely an AI expert, and he is doing this whole experiment right now where he's and I'm using air quotes, he's building a company in public using AI as his again, air quotes, co-founder.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: Obviously, AI is not truly his co-founder, but he's treating it that way, where he's like, okay, I want the input from AI in the thinking vein of a co-founder that has these types of expertise.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: And then when you give AI that assignment that, okay, I want you to think like a strategist, think like a CEO, think like a CFO, come to me with uh ideas that are in that knowledge realm, it can do a lot of things that you'd be pretty mind blown that it can actually do.
- 6:41SPEAKER_01: I already am mind blown.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: Um, do you is that something that you have to like pay for?
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Because I honestly just use the free version, but sure.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: What do you think?
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Like, do you think people should buy the paid version or the free version's fine?
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: I think starting with the free version is absolutely fine and it can do a lot.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: I was actually talking to one of my mastermind membership gals yesterday, and she was telling me, she's like, Okay, I'm ready.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: I haven't really used it very much yet.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: I want to like dive in, I want to put together some research and a content strategy, and then I want to outline a course that she's been kind of ideating on.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: So I gave her a list of prompts that she could start with on Chat GPT 3.5, which is the free version.
- 7:26SPEAKER_00: And then I also showed her how to use it, those same prompts in Google Gemini, which is Google's free version.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: You could also use Canva Magic Right, same sort of like level of thinking or notions AI.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: So you could use any of those templates to get really good results.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: So what we did in that conversation was she was able to pull research.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: She's a therapist, so she was able to pull research about other therapists in the same realm as her, therapists that were especially finding success in course creation.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: So she was, we were looking at that, the research around that, putting together a course outline based on the type of therapy that she does.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: She was able to map out a 30-day content strategy.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: And I think our conversation was like a total of 15 minutes.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: And she had all of that done by using Chat GPT and the thr the free version, the 3.5 version.
- 8:19SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, that's so cool.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: I used it a little bit recently for my new course that I'm coming out with, but honestly, I didn't have like a huge strategy behind it.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: I was just like kind of like toying with it and kind of like giving it some information, asking, like, you know, give me I would just basically plug information and then say, like, basically organize this information.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: And it worked pretty well.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: I was honestly surprised.
- 8:44SPEAKER_01: I was like, okay.
- 8:46SPEAKER_01: And it didn't even really sound super robotic.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: Not that I was gonna even use the actual copy, I was more to get outlines.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: But I was really surprised by that because most of the experience that I've had with AI is like seeing it on Instagram and people using captions straight from ChatGPT, which you can just tell.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: Like it says embark ChatGBT a lot.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: It says embark and it says embrace and it says unleash and it says journey and it uses the exact same emojis every single time.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it will throw in some.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: Oh, the other, the other thing is like it will capitalize hashtags and a little bit.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: Which is also weird.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Just like a giving it away.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Like everybody knows now.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:29SPEAKER_00: So what I would do, and you can do this in the free version, if okay, so if you are listening to this show right now and you are a girly that is using Chat GPT for your captions, no shame.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: Go ahead and do it.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: Get get get your stuff done.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: Like I get it.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: But this is what you want to do first.
- 9:44SPEAKER_00: You want to set your personalized custom instructions.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: The way you do that is you get onto Chat GPT, you go down to the little like icon with your picture, click on that, and then there's a section that says custom instructions.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: So then you tell it how you want it to talk.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: And you tell it, like, for example, on mine, it's like I don't use hashtags.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: I don't use these types of words, and I've like loaded in some of those words.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: Please don't ever use these words when you're writing on my behalf.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: This is the tone of voice I use.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: This is the this is who I am.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: I'm a CEO of this type of company.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: I want to talk in a casual, relatable tone.
- 10:21SPEAKER_00: This is the type of things that I have expertise around.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: When I put together any sort of social content, this is the number of characters I want to use.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: This is how I want that content delivered back to me.
- 10:31SPEAKER_00: I want it in table format.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: I want it with hooks for my intro when we're doing social.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: I give it all of that information.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: So then if I do want to work on a content plan and I'm like, okay, let's put together a game plan around X launch.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: Like, let's just pretend I'm launching something and here's what the launch is.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: Then I get some really good stuff back because it knows how I want it to talk.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: Wow, I literally, you're blowing my mind.
- 10:58SPEAKER_01: I didn't know you could do that.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: I am so excited to extend this offer to all of my podcast listeners.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: If you didn't know, we just launched intentional Instagram.
- 11:08SPEAKER_01: This course is for anyone who is looking to bridge that gap between actually reaching their ideal audience and converting them into paying customers.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: So this is for you if you're posting every day but you are not seeing the payoff.
- 11:24SPEAKER_01: You can't seem to reach the audience that actually wants and needs your offer, and you're overwhelmed and frustrated with how much time Instagram is taking away from your business.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: Get ready to say goodbye to all of that and start showing up for your community on Instagram every day in under 30 minutes and with a lot more fun.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: And spend way more time at the beach, going for your hot girl walks or working on your next big thing, and also making more money with the content that you're already posting every single day.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: If you're listening to this and you want to get intentional Instagram, head to the link in the show notes and use code podcast for 20% off.
- 12:05SPEAKER_01: I will see you there.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: When you're giving it your tone of voice, are you just telling it like this is my tone of voice?
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: Or do you have it like read through some things that you've written and come up with that?
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: And then you could put it in.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you could definitely do both.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: And it's probably smart to do both.
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: So, like I might say, I want to write in a educate in an educational, yeah, casual and relatable tone, and I don't use these types of words.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: If I were wanting to get it really, really right, then I would do that.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: I would take some existing copy and say, okay, now I'm gonna give you some examples of my copy so that you can see what my cadence is and how I structure sentences, etc.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: And you then you could also say, you could you could type into the prompt, ask me any questions that you have around how I like to communicate on my content or in my newsletter or whatever you're writing for.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: And it will ask you questions if it has them.
- 13:07SPEAKER_00: And then you can say, okay, do you have any more questions?
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: And it will say, No, I'm good.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: And then you can say, Okay, now go ahead and generate the copy.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Just talk to it like you would an actual assistant that's like sitting in your office with you that's like learning about you.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 13:24SPEAKER_01: I'm always like, please, thank you.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: Just in case.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I'm like, I just want to make sure that we're we're all good.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, just in case they do take over someday.
- 13:34SPEAKER_00: Just kidding.
- 13:35SPEAKER_00: But let's just be nice.
- 13:36unknown: Yeah.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: JK, JK.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: JK, that's not gonna happen, everyone.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: I think we're gonna be okay.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we're good.
- 13:41SPEAKER_01: We're okay.
- 13:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's actually interesting.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: I feel like that is a hot topic.
- 13:45SPEAKER_01: It was especially hot, like around this time last year.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: I feel like people were like really hot and cold on it on social media, and now it feels like people are leaning in back first.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: I think that's true.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: I think that's true.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: And you know, like when someone asks me this question, like, don't you think it's just gonna like it's gonna destroy the world, or don't you think it's going to um there's gonna be a bust and it's just gonna be over?
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: These are all the exact same things people said about the internet when the internet started.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: We, you know, we probably don't remember that because most of us were like really young when that was happening, if we were even alive.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: But that is what they were saying.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: What we definitely were not alive for was when the printing press was initially invented and books were being created for the first time.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: The same exact storyline was happening then, where it was like actually the printed word is like bad, and you're supposed to have all of this stuff committed to memory, and you're not supposed to put this on paper.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: The church was especially against the printing press because it was like recording some things that you were supposed to have committed to memory as a religious person.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: And so it was very, it was there was like a lot of question around like, is this good for us as humanity or bad for us as humanity?
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: Same, you know, same, same, same, same with many technologies.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: So I I certainly have personally a set of like moral codes around how I'm gonna use AI.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: I think a really nice place to look if you're like, I just want to understand a little bit better what the what what the best approach to using this is.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: And I'm really interested in a more human rights-centered approach to the ethics of AI, is uh UNESCO.org has a set of principles.
- 15:31SPEAKER_00: They've been studying this and setting these principles way before ChatGPT was a thing.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: The first time I ever saw these core principles that they had published was in 2018.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: So this is like way before Chat GPT.
- 15:44SPEAKER_00: People got hot on this topic because of ChatGPT, because all of a sudden there was like this tool that was so readily available.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: But, you know, some of the core principles are that this the way that you should approach using AI is do no harm, be in consideration of people's safety, privacy, um, be responsible, be transparent, ensure that humans are still in oversight of the robots.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: Think about sustainability when you're using it.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: Don't do things that are going to be damaging to the environment.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: You know, all of these things are really important.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: So that's the same for the internet.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of bad things that can happen with the internet if we're not being staying within our core set of values.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I was just thinking of like the dark web, which obviously came around when the internet came around, which is like obviously that's like really bad.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: And if you're using or participating in that, like that's not good.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: And the same thing could happen with AI as well.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: And I agree with you, using it in like a morally good way.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't really vibe so much with the AI when they are like a person, like they pretend to be like another person.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, even like the Kendall Jenner thing that happened.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I was just like, that's a little weird.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, I agree.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: I also I'm totally with you on that.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: If it's like impersonating someone and you don't know it, that is not okay.
- 17:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's like, whoa, why are we doing that?
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, I definitely think there are like boundaries to it, but just like literally anything else, like you were saying, always.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: Um, even when print came out, like you didn't want to maybe print a news article that's incorrect or pull like sending out false information, you know, it's like it's always gonna be a thing.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: Um and I also think what's interesting is like as I've used AI, I've noticed like how much it needs me.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: Totally.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: It's kind of like you can't function without me.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:40SPEAKER_00: And I think in future, when someone asks me questions like, well, don't you think it's gonna take everybody's jobs?
- 17:46SPEAKER_00: I actually think that the better you are at understanding how to work with AI, the better opportunity you're going to have to have a better job because the AI can do a lot of the tasks that will elevate your thinking because it can do the stuff that like you don't have to think so much about.
- 18:02SPEAKER_00: And I think about in my own business, we're a small business.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: I have two team members that are on payroll, and then we have a couple of contractors, and we can do so much more using AI, which means I can hire more people because we can make more sales because we have the technology to move faster.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: That's such a good point.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: And like the jobs are gonna be maybe they're a little more specialized, yeah, because you're gonna have to be an AI specialist or whatever.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: But like the same thing happened when we started like automating assembly lines.
- 18:36SPEAKER_01: People were like, they're taking jobs, but what actually happened is people just started operating the robots, you know, like started programming the robots and started becoming software engineers and things like that.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: So it's honestly just a shift in what jobs there are.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: I don't feel like it's necessarily gonna like steal a job.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, I personally, if I as someone who has a business, Weewee Studio, which is my education company, and is building the beauty brand Casa Nun, I want my copywriters, my marketing people, my social strategists for the beauty brand, especially to know how to use AI to be able to get their stuff done faster so we can be more creative, so we can be more community-oriented and spend less time on like the little minutiae stuff and instead spend more time doing the things that really matter.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and the things you love doing.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, I don't know, maybe you don't love writing a newsletter.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: I don't really love it.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: And so it's like if I could find a way to add that into my workflow for an AI thing, it would be great because I could free up that time to do more podcasts or whatever I like.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for sure, for sure.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: Like in my newsletter, we have a roundup of interesting, cool things happening amongst entrepreneurial women on the internet.
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: And so rather than me needing to go and like scour TikTok and a bunch of substacks and like kind of like get bogged down in that, I can now go onto Chat GPT and say, hey, I want to talk about these topics in my newsletter today.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: Can you give me some links back of things trending in this particular conversation?
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: And it can go and do that roundup of research for me.
- 20:17SPEAKER_00: So I'm spending a little less time just like doing a scroll or like doing a deep dive digging through things to find what I'm looking for.
- 20:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:26unknown: Wow.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: AI is so powerful.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: You've honestly given me a really new perspective on it on like ways that I can use it in my business.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: I feel like that's gonna be so helpful for everyone listening to like just leveraging that so you can do more of what you love, which actually is kind of funny because we also want to talk about human design, which is like the opposite of AI in a way.
- 20:48SPEAKER_01: So I'm a generator.
- 20:50SPEAKER_01: And what why don't you tell us like a little about human design and kind of like what it has to do with your job, how you use it for your job?
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, for sure.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: I know it's it's like so the opposite.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: It's like AI is the future, and then human design is the ancient technology.
- 21:05SPEAKER_00: But I love both of those things.
- 21:07SPEAKER_00: And I think looking into ancient technologies and things that can help us to understand ourselves better, help us to improve upon our creativity and our imagination, and then they help us to be better in the future.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: So I love a combination of those things.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: But human design specifically, if you're not familiar with it, it is a combination of some ancient technologies like astrology, the i ching, kabbala, genetic coding.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: Um, it's a science, but it is definitely on the like woo side of the science scale.
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: It'll tell you a lot about yourself and how you um move through the world energetically, how you best make decisions, what your highest gifts and talents are, um, how you might best relate to other people and have relationships.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: So it says so much just about who we are.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: I love using it in business.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Because it tells us all of those things.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: And we're very programmed to do business in one way.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: We know that historically business has been like you go to the office Monday through Friday, you work from nine to five, and you need to take a lunch somewhere and there.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: And so even if you're working for yourself, and in my community, a lot of us are out of office people.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: We're like working in all around the world, we're digital nomads, or we work really distinct styles of like roles where we're not necessarily at a desk all day, but we're still programmed that there's like a specific way you're supposed to work.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: And the reality is we're not all meant to work that way.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: Some of us are going to have our creative energies really showing up for us at specific times of day, or we can only be like highly creative and really energized for a couple of hours a day before we need to go recharge.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: We're all different.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: And so human design can tell us a lot about which style of work is best for us, what our energy around work is going to look like, what our highest gifts and talents will be, how we best communicate.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: And so when you use AI, no, when you use human design, AI can maybe tell you those things someday, but right now human design would be the place to look for that.
- 23:21SPEAKER_00: So when you use human design, you can get all of that information about yourself and then make some really good decisions about how you're going to use your time and energy.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: And so for you as a generator, I'm a manifesting generator, your generator, it's really, really similar.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: We have a lot of the same energy centers activated in our body.
- 23:42SPEAKER_00: So for us, we're known for our sustainable energy and we really thrive when we're doing things that really light us up.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: And so if we can be in the in a place in our the way that we work where we're inviting our passions in and the things that we're excited about, and then paying attention to what's going on in the world, and then making a decision to respond to the things that we feel are really calling to us, then we're gonna feel, we're gonna, we're just gonna feel good.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: We're gonna feel lit up, we're gonna feel energized to do our thing, and we're gonna feel a call to explore, we're gonna feel that our spontaneous energy is giving us more energy.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: And so that's that's a really nice thing to know about ourselves.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: What you can also then pay attention to is if you're feeling burnt out, then it's a direct correlation to you're doing the things that are actually not for you.
- 24:39SPEAKER_00: And so while we all experience burnout for a manifesting generator or a generator like you and me, if we're getting burnt out, that means we were really doing the wrong thing.
- 24:50SPEAKER_00: It was not for us because it's hard for us to run out of energy.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: And we will do that if we're like on the wrong path.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: Wow, that is so cool.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: I don't know tons about human design, but I have like gotten into it a little bit.
- 25:04SPEAKER_01: Like I've listened to different podcasts about it and things like that.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: And like I've I have my chart and whatever.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: I basically have just learned from like observing and kind of honestly social media and what I know about being a generator.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: I don't know if a manny generator is the same, but like when you're in alignment, you feel very satisfied.
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: And when you're not in alignment, you feel frustrated.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: And once I figured that out, it was so much easier for me to make moves in my business because I would be sitting down trying to do bookkeeping and I would be so frustrated, lose all my energy, be like, I literally, I'm gonna quit.
- 25:38SPEAKER_01: I don't want to do this.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: And then I was like, oh, I can just outsource bookkeeping.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it gives you so much insight into the things that the second you've got the money to do it, those are the things that you outsource.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: And then that keeps you in in alignment to the the things that are fun for you.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: And not that all, but not all of business is fun, but you can at least start to notice okay, if I'm completely drained and frustrated when I start handling the bookkeeping, the second I've got some extra cash in the business, that's getting that budget's going to getting myself a great bookkeeper so I can stay on the other side of the stuff that I do like to do.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: And just leaning into what is satisfying, like you said, business isn't always easy, but I feel like there are things that are satisfying that aren't easy.
- 26:26SPEAKER_01: Or like, sure, you know, they may be easier for me than they are for you because I feel satisfied by it.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: Like messing around with a spreadsheet.
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: I'm like, for some reason, that's really satisfying.
- 26:36SPEAKER_01: Like, I love to do that.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: And most people would be like, that makes me go insane.
- 26:39SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, I don't know.
- 26:40SPEAKER_01: I just like it.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:42SPEAKER_01: But it can also be like maybe a dumber task or something, like that's not super valuable to the business, but I just like doing it.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: I don't care.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 26:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 26:52SPEAKER_00: And you can find if you dive deeper into your human design chart, you can typically, this is what makes human design so cool.
- 26:58SPEAKER_00: It's so intricate.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: There are so many layers that as you start to dive deeper, you can start to find those things like, okay, these are some things that I am really great at, like being analytical or um being a little bit more interested in like the fine details and the minutia of the business.
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: But I'm not super interested in the way the resources move in and out, which would be like the financial piece, but I am interested in the analysis of the data of how people found their way to me.
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: You can start to see all of those things in the chart, and then it just gives you this really great validation of okay, yeah, this is the stuff to go spend some time on, and you're gonna get better results that way.
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 27:40SPEAKER_01: How do you feel like your human design plays into like how you show up on social media?
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: So because I am a generator, I do have that like sustained energy, I'm very consistent, I'm very reliable, like that's who I am.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: And so to me, like I'm always teaching my audience and my clients like consistency is like one of the most important things on social media.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: But for them, like they might be a projector or something, and they're like, I just I only want to show up when it feels good, which I'm like, in my experience, that's not how it works.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: How do you like marry those two things?
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's such a great question.
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: And I think social media is one of those places that when we use our human design, it can help us tremendously because social media can be very confronting.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: It can be something that causes a lot of burnout, it causes comparison, all of these things that, you know, I know you've heard and I certainly have too, where it's like if you're not doing this in great alignment to your energetics, it's going to feel hard and it's not, it's not gonna feel like a good time.
- 28:41SPEAKER_00: So for manifesting generator and a generator, actually for me, as a manifesting generator with I have lines one and three in my profile.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: I have that strategy of being in response mode.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: That's the same for generators too.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: And my line three is the line of relatability.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: It's like line three is a relatable queens.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: I used to be the type of person that would try to sit down and map out my social plan for like a week or a month at a time.
- 29:10SPEAKER_00: And I would feel frustrated.
- 29:12SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, okay, I need to check myself.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: I know I'm not in alignment if I feel frustrated.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: So clearly this doesn't work for me.
- 29:18SPEAKER_00: So what I had to do instead was really look at my chart and think about what would make me feel lit up, what would feel fun for me on social so that my energy comes through that this is something I'm having a great time with versus something that's like a slog.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: And it was shifting the way that I create content, which is banking all my B-roll.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: I can do that in one day.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: But then I don't write my captions, create my hooks, or any of that until literally when I decide that it's like the time to post.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: I post every day, I have time on my calendar to very generator behavior because you need to be in response mode.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: So for you, it's like, what's going on in the world around me?
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: What's going on with my community?
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: What am I feeling called to talk about?
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: Same for me.
- 30:06SPEAKER_00: And me having a line three, that relatability piece.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: If I try to create that way in advance and I'm not in response and in relatability mode, it just doesn't come through the right way.
- 30:18SPEAKER_00: So when I shifted into doing it that way, now I can be consistent because it's like I'm just showing up like I would have a conversation like this, just on social.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: And that feels good to me.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: Now, if I was a projector, my husband, for example, is a 2-6 projector, very different from my energy.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: And while he still needs to be in some sort of consistency, he's got he's got a record coming out really soon.
- 30:46SPEAKER_00: And we've been having this conversation about what he needs to be planning for, knowing he needs to be on social and very present.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: But as a projector, he doesn't want to get into overwhelm in comparison.
- 30:59SPEAKER_00: And as a two six, two sixes can be really introverted and quite intuitive.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: And they're kind of like thinking deeply about how people see them.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: And so that's gonna feel really different.
- 31:12SPEAKER_00: So we're really thinking about for him, it's got to be really high quality content, and he has to really tune out the noise and not get into his head because of what he's consuming, and instead really think about creating something beautiful and moving and reflective of his experience.
- 31:32SPEAKER_00: And that's quite different from what I would tell a one-three Manny Gin like myself.
- 31:36SPEAKER_00: So I think all of that is really helpful to know.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: I I definitely see see projectors when they go into social media courses or trainings, they're like, oh my God, this was terrible.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: Like I was like, I felt like I couldn't keep up.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: And all of those people with like Manny Gin or generator energy were like running full speed, and I was over here just like thinking about my heart, and it was really hard.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: And so it's helpful to know that actually as a projector, you still want to have consistency, but you have to really honor your energy levels, and that's just gonna look different for you and the way that you put the plan together.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: Okay, yeah, I love that.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: That's actually so, so helpful because I've wondered that even with my own clients as I've learned more about human design and just being like, I sometimes don't get it because I'm like, I would just do it.
- 32:32SPEAKER_01: But I know that, like, I know that there's nothing wrong with them for not.
- 32:36SPEAKER_01: It's just like figuring out a plan that does feel good and does feel in alignment with them, which is gonna look different for them.
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 32:43SPEAKER_01: At least for me.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:44SPEAKER_00: And for generators and manifesting generators, we typically have energy being created from our sacral space, which is that energy of just do it.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: Projectors do not have that energy.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: They have they their strategy is coming from and their authority is coming from a different place.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: It's either coming from their emotional home within their body, which is their solar plexus, it might be coming from their instinctual home, which is the spleen on the human design chart.
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: It might be coming from their self-centered or their mind center.
- 33:17SPEAKER_00: So there's a lot of different places that their like lit up energy lives.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: So if you tell them just do it, they're like, oh, but I'm in my head, or just do it, but I'm in my feelings, or just do it, but like instinctually, I don't know that I'm ready.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: So like they have to work through that before they can get into just do it vibes.
- 33:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 33:38SPEAKER_01: That's so interesting.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: I wonder how many, and now I need to know like, what are all my clients?
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: What are you guys?
- 33:45SPEAKER_01: I need to know.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: Um, but how do you feel about human design and like hiring out a team?
- 33:49SPEAKER_01: Like, is that something that you pay attention to?
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm wondering if I wouldn't work well with a projector, maybe, or if I would work well with them, you know, like do what is the thing is if you are working with people who have a different energetic makeup from you, they are going to think about things and bring things to the table that you're not considering, which I love because it's like the Yeah, so the projectors can see really deeply into things.
- 34:25SPEAKER_00: So if I were thinking about community building and I had someone on my team who is a projector, they're gonna be able to see deeply into the general feeling of the collective of people in the community.
- 34:40SPEAKER_00: And whereas I may be just kind of like rolling through, like, here's my big vision for it, and here's what I want us to get up to, and these are the things that I'm planning, they can like feel into what's going on in a way that I may not.
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: So that's like a really cool way to use projectors, a projector's gifts and talents and their energetic makeup because they can feel that.
- 35:00SPEAKER_00: Now, if I told them, okay, now we're gonna sit down and do like a four-hour power hour or power session, they may say that feels painful because I need to work in like two-hour spurts.
- 35:12SPEAKER_00: So I just have to like think about that, that the way we work might be a little different.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: And maybe if we are gonna do like four-hour strategy day, then we need to like plan a nice little like walk, walk around the block in the middle for them to recharge and feel like they're not burning out halfway through.
- 35:30SPEAKER_00: So you just start to know those things about the people that you're collaborating with or working with or that are on your team or your clients.
- 35:38SPEAKER_00: And it's gonna get you just better alignment and better results by really honoring everyone's different way of being.
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: I love that too.
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: I don't know if this is a generator thing, a Capricorn thing, or just a me thing, but I also sometimes get in this thing of like, there's only one way, which is like logically, I know that's not true, but sometimes I'll slip into that.
- 36:01SPEAKER_01: And it does sound really awesome to have someone in your on your team or in your space that can be like, actually, there's a different way that could also be awesome because it would just snap me right out of that.
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 36:14SPEAKER_00: Okay, so is Capricorn your sun sign?
- 36:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and my rise.
- 36:20SPEAKER_00: I'm a Capricorn sun and rising and a Scorpio moon.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: Something to do with that.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, interesting.
- 36:25SPEAKER_00: I'm a Capricorn rising, and so we have a lot of that same energetic makeup where it's like it's it's very much CEO, get things done.
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: Let's just let's think about, yeah, let's think about how we create momentum quickly.
- 36:42SPEAKER_00: On my team, my my director of marketing and operations, she's got Virgo and Libra energy, which I feel like is the perfect mix for that role because she's got the organization, organizational flow of a Virgo, but then she sees things in a really beautiful way at like a Libra does.
- 37:01SPEAKER_00: So she's able to like really do both operations and marketing in a way that my Capricorn CEO vibe appreciates because of the level of detail and beauty that she puts into things.
- 37:14SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 37:14SPEAKER_01: Imagine like if we all really lived in alignment and worked these jobs that were in alignment with us, like the world would be so much, it's already beautiful, but it would be so much more beautiful because everyone would just be like thriving.
- 37:28SPEAKER_01: I feel like so many people just do jobs because it makes money or that they slip into a job and then they never leave it, and it's like really not in alignment with who they are, so they're just like miserable.
- 37:41SPEAKER_01: It's so true, it's so true.
- 37:42SPEAKER_00: And then when you like learn these things about each other, you just honor and respect each other's way and a real with a really different approach.
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: Like my Capricorn-ness means for me, I can really I can get really stuck in the masculine.
- 37:58SPEAKER_00: And me too.
- 38:00SPEAKER_00: A big practice for me has been to really give myself space to lean into my divine feminine energy, into my intuition, because when I do that, I have really beautiful creative ideas, but I can get stuck on the other side of things where I'm like, okay, let's talk about sales, let's talk about, you know, the all this, all the stuff we gotta get done.
- 38:21SPEAKER_00: And then all of a sudden I'm like, oh wait, I had no space for magic and flow.
- 38:25SPEAKER_00: And I've got to, I've got to I've got to create that structure for myself to let that time happen for me.
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, to let that time be free.
- 38:33SPEAKER_01: So you can do that.
- 38:34SPEAKER_01: I'm very, very similar.
- 38:35SPEAKER_01: I'm very structured, very like, I don't know, sometimes I feel like, why am I like this?
- 38:42SPEAKER_01: But it's just who I am.
- 38:43SPEAKER_01: And same, like it's I have to really intentionally go into my feminine or like allow myself.
- 38:51SPEAKER_01: And I do have like reality checks where I'll be like, oh, okay, I'm being like way too logistical about this.
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: Maybe it just needs to flow.
- 38:58SPEAKER_01: Maybe I just need to not try to control it and just let it go.
- 39:02SPEAKER_01: And honestly, that's where like the magic always does happen, but I tend to lean into that more like ordered way.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: I I I'm so the same.
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: I feel that, sister.
- 39:12SPEAKER_01: First, I want to say thank you so much for being here and listening to my podcast.
- 39:17SPEAKER_01: It means the world to me, and I just appreciate this community more than you could ever know.
- 39:22SPEAKER_01: If you love this episode or a previous episode that you've listened to, go ahead and head to the Leave a Review link in the show notes and leave us a review.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: We would really appreciate it.
- 39:34SPEAKER_01: And we're so glad that you're here.
- 39:36SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: Awesome.
- 39:38SPEAKER_01: Okay, I feel like this is actually a great segue into content strategy because we're talking about human design and kind of how you show up on social media.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, we talked a little about this, but let's talk a little more about like content strategy specifically.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: Obviously, you've grown your account really awesomely.
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: And how have you done that?
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: How long did it take?
- 39:59SPEAKER_01: When did you kind of start to see movement there?
- 40:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so I'm one of those people that's been on Instagram for a really long time, and I am kind of that elder millennial vibe that loved aesthetic Instagram back in the day.
- 40:15SPEAKER_00: I loved like curating a grid, and I loved telling stories through lovely photos and you know, got like the fancy cameras back in like 2015 when it was like very much about how you were taking pictures.
- 40:32SPEAKER_00: So I grew pretty quickly on Instagram in the early days, and so probably like coming into like 2018, 2019, I had like 40,000-ish followers, but then everything completely stalled, like fully stalled because things were starting to shift.
- 40:52SPEAKER_00: And at that time, reels were not a thing yet, but there was definitely like this movement towards more of a storytelling approach to Instagram.
- 41:02SPEAKER_00: And I was over here like running a business, working as a consultant.
- 41:07SPEAKER_00: I had I was running my blog, doing a lot of creative direction work at that time.
- 41:11SPEAKER_00: I had not yet established WeWe Studio as a company, but I was doing a lot of consulting work.
- 41:16SPEAKER_00: And I wasn't really infusing any of the things I was doing into my business on Instagram.
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: I was purely using Instagram as like this sweet place for like my lifestyle content.
- 41:26SPEAKER_00: So 2018, 2019, things like stall out.
- 41:30SPEAKER_00: 2020, 2021, I'm like, it's all dead, it's not a thing.
- 41:33SPEAKER_00: I'll just like keep posting, but like whatever.
- 41:37SPEAKER_00: And then I had this like realization in the last probably like year where I was like, I'm just not being strategic here.
- 41:47SPEAKER_00: I am really smart at business.
- 41:50SPEAKER_00: I'm a great marketer, I know how to do these things, and yet I'm not doing it for myself on my page.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: And I think by about that time, I was probably at like maybe like 45,000, 50,000 followers on like the best day.
- 42:06SPEAKER_00: And so I took like a hard look at the style of content I was creating, and I looked at what I do in my business.
- 42:14SPEAKER_00: And by that point, I had launched We Studio as an education company for female founders, for people in some very specific industries.
- 42:25SPEAKER_00: We have a lot of people in the beauty industry, a lot of people in creative industries, uh, a lot of people in the wellness space.
- 42:31SPEAKER_00: And I was like, I'm not talking to them on Instagram at all.
- 42:36SPEAKER_00: Like, what am I doing?
- 42:37SPEAKER_00: This is this strategy is not it.
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: So last year I made that big pivot and my account shifted completely.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: And it, I wouldn't say it happened overnight, but once I got strategic, because I already understood the visual aesthetic of how to run a page, and because I do know how to tell a story, and I am someone who has a really good understanding of who my client is, who my people are.
- 43:06SPEAKER_00: Once I got strategic, it happened fast.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: And I remember the first month that I was like, okay, I have a strategy now, and it's gonna be an all-reels strategy right now, and it's gonna be a lot of storytelling and using my manifesting generator one three energy.
- 43:24SPEAKER_00: It's gonna be a lot of how-to style content.
- 43:27SPEAKER_00: I really treat my page now as a how-to library.
- 43:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's beautiful.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 43:33SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 43:34SPEAKER_00: Thank you, thank you.
- 43:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and so that's that was the shift in strategy was treat this like a how-to library for your perfect people, for your perfect client.
- 43:42SPEAKER_00: And within like that first month, I think I had grown maybe 10,000 followers in one month from making that pivot.
- 43:49SPEAKER_00: And then very quickly, it just kept moving, moving the needle because I took that approach.
- 43:55SPEAKER_00: And so consistency is definitely a part of it, and I had Been very consistent as I've been using like my natural energetics to like create my strategy.
- 44:05SPEAKER_00: But then the other piece is I'm using like some basic, basic things like marketing 101, which is catch people's attention quickly.
- 44:14SPEAKER_00: So I'm thinking about how I use visual hooks and caption hooks to get attention to stop the scroll.
- 44:21SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking about how I'm visually laying things out still, like I always did back in the day, but in a new way where it's like, okay, what's visually how am I visually creating a signature style that looks like me?
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: So when people see my post, they know it's me right away.
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: Absolutely have that.
- 44:40SPEAKER_01: You you have that so down so well.
- 44:42SPEAKER_01: And I love how you've taken it from the grid, which honestly doesn't really matter that much anymore.
- 44:48SPEAKER_01: It's a thing, but not really.
- 44:51SPEAKER_01: And you've applied that to your real strategy.
- 44:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:55SPEAKER_01: I honestly have never really been an aesthetics person.
- 44:58SPEAKER_01: And so my grid was always something that like stressed me out.
- 45:02SPEAKER_01: I was like, I am never gonna be that girl.
- 45:05SPEAKER_01: You're just not gonna catch me doing that.
- 45:07SPEAKER_01: But I did the same thing with like my reels, where I all of my B roll looks so similar that people just know that it's they know it's you, it's me, and I love that so much.
- 45:19SPEAKER_01: So when you were when you started into that new strategy with just reels, were you posting a reel every single day?
- 45:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I really still am.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: And I occasionally take a day or two off.
- 45:32SPEAKER_00: It certainly happens sometimes, but I set up for myself and my community a challenge that we're just like always participating in.
- 45:43SPEAKER_00: And then I sometimes do other creators' challenges too, because I just find it fun to like get to, you know, I love to do it.
- 45:49SPEAKER_00: Like it's so fun, right?
- 45:51SPEAKER_00: So I have um I have a girlfriend who runs like a creator community that I'm in.
- 45:56SPEAKER_00: And when she does one, I'm like, okay, I'm gonna play, and I'll be doing hers and mine at the same time.
- 46:01SPEAKER_00: But I love that because I I think like gamifying social for ourselves also makes it a little bit more fun.
- 46:09SPEAKER_00: It's like, okay, here's my challenge for today.
- 46:11SPEAKER_00: How am I gonna answer the challenge?
- 46:12SPEAKER_00: And what can I talk about that would fit into the challenge language?
- 46:17SPEAKER_00: And then because I already have all that B-roll saved, it's just really easy to do that.
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: And it is easy to then post something every day or show up every day.
- 46:27SPEAKER_00: And I think it's important because it's my business and it matters.
- 46:30SPEAKER_00: So I do want to show up to my business and promote my business in some way every day.
- 46:36SPEAKER_01: That's beautiful because a lot of people have a hard time with mindset on social media.
- 46:41SPEAKER_01: I'm sure you get this all the time.
- 46:43SPEAKER_01: But people are like, I hate it, I hate showing up, my content never performs.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: Like, there's just so much like negativity around it.
- 46:51SPEAKER_01: But I I just disagree with that.
- 46:53SPEAKER_01: And I think if you have that energy behind your posting, like everyone's gonna know that you don't want to do it.
- 47:00SPEAKER_01: It's just so obvious.
- 47:02SPEAKER_01: Like, and you're not gonna see the growth that you want to see.
- 47:05SPEAKER_01: But if you can make it fun, if you can make it a game, if you can marry the posting whatever I want with following a strategy, if you can find that overlap, that's where you start to see actual success.
- 47:18SPEAKER_01: And when you're real flops, you're not like deeply offended because you're like, this is just part of the process.
- 47:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and then you just go and you take a look at it, analyze like what didn't what didn't I do here to make this get the result that I know that I'm capable of, and then you just rework it and it's like it's then you're you're just all good.
- 47:36SPEAKER_00: It's like a different, it it stops becoming so about it.
- 47:41SPEAKER_00: While it is about you, it's not about you then.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: No, exactly.
- 47:44SPEAKER_01: It's just about the strategy, it's just about the strategy, and also like it's not about you, it's about your audience, and I think that's such a big reframe is just being like not taking things so personally because it's not about you, it's for your audience, and if it didn't hit with your audience, like that's all good.
- 48:02SPEAKER_01: We're just gonna try again.
- 48:04SPEAKER_01: And like the good thing about a reel not hitting or a piece of content not hitting is like not that many people saw it, so like you can absolutely redo it again, nobody's gonna remember because they didn't even see it the first time.
- 48:16SPEAKER_00: So, like, just keep trying, it's all good, yeah.
- 48:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and as you're saying, you know, this thing about it's it's about your audience, that is it's such an important point.
- 48:26SPEAKER_00: And I think like where we sometimes get stuck, and I don't know that I've like fully flushed this out, but I think like something that's happened is we learned how to show up on social by watching influencers and celebrities do it first.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: So they're like, okay, I'm gonna show up and I'm gonna talk about myself.
- 48:45SPEAKER_00: And they got big results doing that.
- 48:47SPEAKER_00: And then they got more followers the more they showed parts of themselves.
- 48:51SPEAKER_00: And so there's this whole narrative around like, you just gotta be you and show yourself.
- 48:55SPEAKER_00: And I think there's something to that that's helped us to like get comfortable doing that, but then the part that they're not having to do because they're not a business person.
- 49:05SPEAKER_00: They are literally selling their lifestyle.
- 49:08SPEAKER_00: And for most of us, we're not selling our lifestyle, it might be a part of our marketing, but it is not ultimately the thing that's gonna move the needle to get a customer or a client to understand that you are for them and have the solution for them.
- 49:25SPEAKER_00: So the part that we miss is that piece around it's actually content for them.
- 49:31SPEAKER_00: And so what you have to be creating is a connection and a resonance so that they see that you truly understand them.
- 49:40SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 49:41SPEAKER_01: And I think people are getting smarter, like consumers are getting smarter and smarter about this, about not buying into someone's lifestyle because they've been either burned or they realize like, just because like this person has that lifestyle doesn't even mean that's the lifestyle I want.
- 50:00SPEAKER_01: For a long time, we were being sold, like, you need to own designer bags, like all this like wealth, luxury, which is great.
- 50:07SPEAKER_01: Everyone I think does want that.
- 50:09SPEAKER_01: Like most people, most people want that, like wealth and security and financial success.
- 50:14SPEAKER_01: But they realize like it's more than that.
- 50:17SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's freedom that I want actually.
- 50:19SPEAKER_01: Maybe it's the opportunity to like take time off work that I actually want, not just having a huge savings count or whatever it is.
- 50:27SPEAKER_01: Like, I think that they're shifting what they want because of what we've seen in the past from influencers and celebrities.
- 50:36SPEAKER_01: And I think influencers are even like changing that up too.
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: They're giving people more because they are selling their lifestyle and people aren't buying that lifestyle anymore, they are selling more of like, actually, here's some behind the scenes.
- 50:48SPEAKER_01: Like, what you don't know is actually all these other things, which I love actually.
- 50:53SPEAKER_01: I personally for sure.
- 50:56SPEAKER_00: I think that's so true.
- 50:57SPEAKER_00: And and so when we show up to create content, especially as small business owners, female founders, creatives, and we think about how we can relate and connect, those little moments of our lifestyle can certainly be a part of it, but it isn't the only part of it to get really great results.
- 51:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love that so much.
- 51:21SPEAKER_01: Okay, I do have one major question for you.
- 51:24SPEAKER_01: Um, and it is if you could give your younger self one piece of advice, what would it be?
- 51:31SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I don't know if you saw this the other day.
- 51:34SPEAKER_00: I saw this like on TikTok that I'm like not answering your question yet, but I saw on TikTok that I think she's like one of the stars of the bear, maybe.
- 51:43SPEAKER_00: And she was asked this question like on the red carpet, and to her answer was, Well, my older self has never visited my current self.
- 51:51SPEAKER_00: So I actually don't know if that's a thing that can happen.
- 51:53SPEAKER_00: So I just thought that was funny that she I was like, what an interesting answer.
- 51:56SPEAKER_00: She's like, like the laws of entropy don't actually work that way.
- 51:59SPEAKER_00: So I can't really answer the question.
- 52:01SPEAKER_01: So when she was like, sorry, can't answer.
- 52:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah, sorry, can't it's just not gonna happen.
- 52:06SPEAKER_00: It never has happened.
- 52:07SPEAKER_00: Have any of us been visited by our our like more senior selves?
- 52:10SPEAKER_00: No, okay, well, then I'm not gonna go there.
- 52:12SPEAKER_00: It was like really cute, actually.
- 52:14SPEAKER_00: So when I saw your notes that we might talk about this, I was like, I could tell her I'm never going to like to give an answer for this because um this has never happened with my senior self visiting my current self.
- 52:26SPEAKER_00: But I will give you an answer.
- 52:27SPEAKER_00: So my answer is if I could give a piece of advice to my younger self, it would be to, oh my God, there's like so many things.
- 52:38SPEAKER_00: I had one thing in mind, and now I'm like, actually, I would say none of those boys are worth it.
- 52:42SPEAKER_00: Um because they probably they weren't.
- 52:46SPEAKER_00: Um but what I would also say is you are so worth it.
- 52:49SPEAKER_00: And so the things that you should be in pursuit of are all those things that are in your heart and all those big dreams that you have because you're so worthy of all of those things, and those boys aren't.
- 53:01SPEAKER_00: So not worthy of you.
- 53:02SPEAKER_00: That's what I would tell her.
- 53:04SPEAKER_00: Now, anybody that's listening is gonna be like, this girl's crazy.
- 53:07SPEAKER_00: What would I that's what I would tell her?
- 53:09SPEAKER_01: No, I actually love that because I do think we all struggle, like, I don't know, with just being in the moment and being like, I am worthy of this, I am worthy of being valued or loved, or like I'm worthy of success in my business.
- 53:23SPEAKER_01: I can just feel like you're never like why would I deserve this?
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: Why would I deserve something good?
- 53:29SPEAKER_01: Which you just are deserving inherently.
- 53:31SPEAKER_01: Like you are.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's one of the things I have a lot of younger women in my community, and I host retreats, and so I get to travel with them sometimes.
- 53:42SPEAKER_00: And like half the time they're like about to break up with the boyfriend, and I'm like, just dump him, he's not worthy of you.
- 53:48SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm actually just sure of it.
- 53:49SPEAKER_00: Just go ahead and you're like you're considering it, it's over.
- 53:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you're way too good for this nonsense.
- 53:56SPEAKER_00: And I don't even know their stories yet, but I'm just like projecting what I pretty much know to be true based on my own experience.
- 54:03SPEAKER_01: No, for real.
- 54:04SPEAKER_01: If you're wondering, maybe it's not good.
- 54:07SPEAKER_01: But oh, actually, you should tell us a little bit about that.
- 54:09SPEAKER_01: So you're headed to Mallorca, which we might this episode might come out after that, but um, you have other retreats like that, right?
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 54:17SPEAKER_00: So I've been hosting retreats for like five or six years and just a really great way to hang out with other women that are of a similar mindset and vibe and that are working on their business and life and content and just you know, overall strategy for living.
- 54:35SPEAKER_00: And so we go to really cool destinations.
- 54:38SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, this year.
- 54:39SPEAKER_00: So we're going to Mallorca really soon.
- 54:42SPEAKER_00: Last year we went to, we did, we went to Bali and then we did a Palm Springs retreat.
- 54:46SPEAKER_00: Um, we've done Joshua Tree and New Orleans and Tulume, Mexico.
- 54:52SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I do them every once in a while.
- 54:55SPEAKER_00: So you can just kind of go check out the website and we post where we're going.
- 54:59SPEAKER_00: And they're always small and intimate and really just sweet, sweet experiences.
- 55:04SPEAKER_00: It's not overprogrammed.
- 55:05SPEAKER_00: It's like come hang out and just like make your business besties and or meet your business besties.
- 55:12SPEAKER_00: It's great.
- 55:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 55:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because community is everything, honestly.
- 55:15SPEAKER_01: It sounds so cringe to say that, but it's so true.
- 55:18SPEAKER_01: True.
- 55:18SPEAKER_01: The people that I've met online and in real life through my business are some of my favorite people I've ever met.
- 55:24SPEAKER_01: And they're just so supportive, like they're in it with you.
- 55:28SPEAKER_01: So I don't know.
- 55:29SPEAKER_01: I've just found so much value in that.
- 55:31SPEAKER_01: Um, and then you also have a mastermind, right?
- 55:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 55:34SPEAKER_00: So our mastermind is a mastermind membership.
- 55:37SPEAKER_00: So it's rolling open.
- 55:39SPEAKER_00: You can join anytime.
- 55:41SPEAKER_00: We just we just shifted to the membership model, and I love it because it means you can come in exactly at the moment that you're ready.
- 55:49SPEAKER_00: I'm also a person who doesn't like to be in launch mode all the time for many, many reasons.
- 55:55SPEAKER_00: Just I think it's it's nice to be just open and available.
- 55:59SPEAKER_00: It can be harder from a sales perspective at the beginning, but then as you get going, I find that to be a really great way to invite people in and have them join where they're at.
- 56:09SPEAKER_00: So our mastermind membership, it's called the Smart Girls Mastermind membership.
- 56:15SPEAKER_00: It's a content and offer strategy membership.
- 56:18SPEAKER_00: So we're working on content creation plus your offers within your business.
- 56:22SPEAKER_00: And it is, we meet, we have live less live lab sessions once a week.
- 56:28SPEAKER_00: And then we're just doing a lot of like done with you support style work inside the community.
- 56:34SPEAKER_00: Everybody can talk to each other, share their um masterclasses or their webinars or their ebooks or whatever they're creating and give lots of feedback and advice and support.
- 56:44SPEAKER_00: And I just find it's a really great place for business-minded women to come and bring their work together and then get my support, my team's support, and the care and connection of each other as well.
- 56:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I really love that.
- 56:59SPEAKER_01: And you also have your um broadcast channel, Smart Girls Don't Gate Geek.
- 57:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 57:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 57:06SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 57:07SPEAKER_00: I love I love the broadcast channel so much.
- 57:09SPEAKER_00: I kind of started it on a whim of like, you know, is this a thing I want to like really play with?
- 57:14SPEAKER_00: I'm loving it.
- 57:15SPEAKER_00: I do it, I do an AMA QA style every single week.
- 57:20SPEAKER_00: Every weekend I do it.
- 57:21SPEAKER_00: And that's resulted in us having a couple of free live um workshops for those people in that membership.
- 57:29SPEAKER_00: So we did one on human design for content creation.
- 57:31SPEAKER_00: I'm about to do another one for uh Instagram content strategy to basically sales strategy via Instagram.
- 57:39SPEAKER_00: And I it's so fun because I can like poll the members.
- 57:42SPEAKER_00: I think we've got about 2,000 members in that group.
- 57:44SPEAKER_00: So I can just ask them what they really need help with.
- 57:46SPEAKER_00: And the manifesting generator in me wants to respond to that.
- 57:49SPEAKER_01: That's what I was literally just gonna ask.
- 57:51SPEAKER_01: I was like, that's probably so helpful for your human design because you are able to respond.
- 57:56SPEAKER_01: Like, I guess you have to make that initial bid of like, do this poll or ask me a question.
- 58:01SPEAKER_01: But then when they're asking them, you can just respond.
- 58:04SPEAKER_01: I am going to so put that in my toolbox because sometimes I'm like, how do I respond if no one's like asking me a question?
- 58:12SPEAKER_01: But I guess if I present the opportunity and then they are asking questions, then it's a lot easier to respond.
- 58:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's been really, really great.
- 58:19SPEAKER_00: And I've gotten so much good feedback from the people in that community of what they're really interested in.
- 58:24SPEAKER_00: Truly, the mastermind membership was born from that too.
- 58:27SPEAKER_00: I was noticing the same questions were coming up around content strategy, offer, creation.
- 58:32SPEAKER_00: And so I asked that group first, okay, if I were to put this together, would you guys want to come?
- 58:36SPEAKER_00: Who's in?
- 58:37SPEAKER_00: And definitely our first, our founding members came out of that initial group of people that were like, I want this, I am in for that.
- 58:45SPEAKER_00: And so I think it's a really cool tool to use that is also, you know, free to us via Instagram.
- 58:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love that so much.
- 58:54SPEAKER_01: I so appreciate you coming on the podcast today.
- 58:58SPEAKER_01: Honestly, it's I feel so special that you said yes to being here.
- 59:02SPEAKER_01: And I loved our conversation.
- 59:03SPEAKER_01: So thank you so much.
- 59:05SPEAKER_00: It's been my pleasure, Jaden.
- 59:06SPEAKER_00: Thanks for having me.
- 59:07SPEAKER_00: So much fun to get to talk to you and hang out and chat.
- 59:11SPEAKER_00: And I'm loving what you're doing over on social and on your on your show, too.
- 59:15SPEAKER_00: So thanks for doing it.
- 59:17SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
