Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: His article is up over at Phillyvoice dot com, which
- 0:03Speaker 1: lays out the best most logical replacements for Eagles offensive coordinator,
- 0:08Speaker 1: and Mosher lays out the best coordinator candidates for the
- 0:12Speaker 1: Eagles since they have moved on from Kevin Batulo. Now.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Of this list, he lists them in ideal fits. Interesting
- 0:21Speaker 1: but don't hold your breath. Two of the names that
- 0:26Speaker 1: he said don't hold your breath have now been linked
- 0:28Speaker 1: to the Eagles, Cliff Kingsbury and Mike McDaniel. The other
- 0:34Speaker 1: guy interesting but has also now been linked to the Eagles,
- 0:39Speaker 1: Kevin Stefanski. A fourth guy as an ideal fit, he
- 0:44Speaker 1: lists Brian Dable. So once we get Mosher into the stream,
- 0:49Speaker 1: there he is and he joins us now for today's
- 0:51Speaker 1: football at four on the Sports Bass Live on ninety
- 0:54Speaker 1: seven to three ESPN. His article is up over at
- 0:57Speaker 1: Phillyvoice dot com. He's got a bunch of research candidates
- 1:01Speaker 1: for this job and motion it seems that some reporting
- 1:04Speaker 1: is already coming out for some names that have been
- 1:06Speaker 1: linked to this Eagles job. Diana Russini saying the Eagles,
- 1:10Speaker 1: we'll interview Mike McDaniel and Brian Dable. Now you have
- 1:16Speaker 1: a couple different levels ideal fits, Don't hold your breath
- 1:21Speaker 1: and what was the third one there? Interesting but interesting,
- 1:25Speaker 1: But let's start with don't hold your breath. Mike McDaniel
- 1:30Speaker 1: being reported that the Eagles are going to talk to.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Is that a long shot because he might be a
- 1:35Speaker 1: head coach? Or is this a long shot because of
- 1:37Speaker 1: the fit?
- 1:40Speaker 2: Well? Yes, and yes.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I mean there's there's a lot of head coach openings, right,
- 1:44Speaker 3: and there's only like maybe one or two guys who
- 1:47Speaker 3: you definitively know are going to get a head coaching
- 1:49Speaker 3: job if they want one.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Harbaugh being one, you.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Know, Kevin Stefanski likely being another. And we'll see what
- 1:56Speaker 3: happens with Mike Tomlin. So that, and you know, the
- 2:01Speaker 3: Eagles never cease to surprise me. They always cast a
- 2:03Speaker 3: wide net. So you've got to be careful on who
- 2:07Speaker 3: they interview and how interested they really are, And then
- 2:11Speaker 3: you have to be careful in this case, specifically with
- 2:16Speaker 3: how interested a candidate will be for the Eagles job.
- 2:21Speaker 3: It's certainly an attractive job, given the talent, the environment,
- 2:24Speaker 3: the history, what they've got. But schematically, I think a
- 2:29Speaker 3: big question is this its forking the road here?
- 2:33Speaker 2: Right?
- 2:34Speaker 3: If you're hiring a guy like Mike McDaniel, it means
- 2:37Speaker 3: you're taking a sledgehammer to the scheme that has gotten
- 2:41Speaker 3: you into the playoffs every single year, two Super Bowls
- 2:44Speaker 3: in a Super Bowl championship, two straight NFC East championships.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:48Speaker 3: If that's if you're hiring Mike McDaniel and he's running
- 2:52Speaker 3: his offense, or maybe you're hiring someone who fits the
- 2:56Speaker 3: scheme that more that you've been running, or that person
- 2:59Speaker 3: like Kellen Moore is willing to adjust his scheme for
- 3:03Speaker 3: what you want to do.
- 3:04Speaker 1: So let's talk a little bit about this, because Cliff
- 3:07Speaker 1: Kingsbury's name has come up. That was according to Josina Anderson.
- 3:12Speaker 1: They have talked to Kingsbury in the past. There was
- 3:14Speaker 1: some reporting that he wanted Stalin essentially out so that
- 3:19Speaker 1: he could run his run game the way he wants
- 3:22Speaker 1: to run the run game. Do you think the Eagles
- 3:24Speaker 1: would consider making that type of change for the right
- 3:28Speaker 1: coordinator this time around.
- 3:31Speaker 3: I doubt it, you know, I have no we haven't
- 3:33Speaker 3: heard from Jeff Stalin. I assume he wants to keep coaching.
- 3:35Speaker 3: You know, we know a big reason that he's in
- 3:37Speaker 3: Philadelphia and people teams don't show interest in him is
- 3:40Speaker 3: because they know he's here and wants to be here,
- 3:43Speaker 3: very high paid, and we'll probably finish his career here,
- 3:47Speaker 3: and we don't know when that will be. So that's
- 3:49Speaker 3: interesting and it's I don't want I think that was
- 3:54Speaker 3: phrased weird. They wasn't just that he wanted to get
- 3:56Speaker 3: rid of, like any in particular coach. It was more
- 3:59Speaker 3: that a lot of offensive coordinators are allowed to bring
- 4:03Speaker 3: in their own staff, or at least they get some
- 4:05Speaker 3: preference and treatment, and he has his own guys, Cliff Kingsbury,
- 4:09Speaker 3: that he likes, and so it became untenable, as I
- 4:12Speaker 3: understand it, and they went with Kellen Moore.
- 4:15Speaker 1: All right. So Kingsbury's name has come up as well.
- 4:17Speaker 1: You have him on the list of Don't hold your Breath?
- 4:20Speaker 1: Is that more scheme related here, same as McDaniel, Because
- 4:24Speaker 1: I think Kingsbury's offense would probably fit Hurts pretty well.
- 4:29Speaker 3: Yeah, No, I think schematically it's a good fit and
- 4:34Speaker 3: probably why maybe there might be interest there.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Do you like McDaniel's scheme better for Hurts or Kingsbury?
- 4:43Speaker 2: I don't.
- 4:46Speaker 3: I don't like McDaniel's scheme for Jalen Hurts and the
- 4:49Speaker 3: Eagle's offense at all.
- 4:50Speaker 2: But I don't want to be unfair.
- 4:52Speaker 3: I don't want to put a lid on somebody and
- 4:55Speaker 3: say they can't do it because it hasn't been done.
- 4:58Speaker 3: But just based on things I've heard about preferences and
- 5:01Speaker 3: what Hurts likes and even what what Nick Siriani likes,
- 5:04Speaker 3: I don't see that fit at all. I mean, that's
- 5:09Speaker 3: how much just watched the forty nine ers, right, You
- 5:11Speaker 3: just watched the forty nine Ers play the Eagles in
- 5:13Speaker 3: NSCU wild Card game. So the forty nine ers offense
- 5:17Speaker 3: is basically McDaniels.
- 5:18Speaker 2: You know, he comes from that train.
- 5:19Speaker 3: He did do some things differently in Miami because of
- 5:22Speaker 3: Tayloring itto Tua. But the way that the Niners orchestrated
- 5:27Speaker 3: their offense, the throws that party would make or attempt
- 5:30Speaker 3: to make, and how they use fullbacks and motion and misdirection.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Have you ever seen any of that in the Eagles
- 5:35Speaker 3: offense consistently? No, that's a whole middle of the field offense.
- 5:39Speaker 3: So you know, I'm not sure. I'm not a brain
- 5:41Speaker 3: surgeon here, I'm just it's it's clearly not what the
- 5:44Speaker 3: Eagles have done in their years here.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Right Stefanski now the three, I think Stefanski has the
- 5:52Speaker 1: best chance of getting a head coaching job, so he
- 5:55Speaker 1: seems like the most unrealistic. Now it's being reported that
- 5:59Speaker 1: they are interested in talking to him as well. That
- 6:02Speaker 1: according to Justina Anderson, what do you think about Stefanski's
- 6:06Speaker 1: thick because he seems to be in that same tree
- 6:08Speaker 1: as the Shanahan and a little bit more West coast.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, Stefanski's really an interesting cat man, Like.
- 6:15Speaker 3: If you think about it, his only NFL coaching experience
- 6:19Speaker 3: came with the Vikings as an assistant who worked his
- 6:22Speaker 3: way up, and then the Browns. It's not like he's
- 6:25Speaker 3: been in the NFL for like most of these guys have,
- 6:27Speaker 3: you know, bounced around four or five six teams. But
- 6:30Speaker 3: I don't even know his truest coaching influences because he
- 6:35Speaker 3: was hired under the children's regime in Minnesota, then was
- 6:39Speaker 3: there through the change to Leslie Frasier to Mike Zimmer,
- 6:43Speaker 3: who are both defensive guys. I just know that his offense,
- 6:46Speaker 3: the way it looks when he's running this typical offense,
- 6:50Speaker 3: is that it's a lot like the old Shanahan, Gary
- 6:53Speaker 3: Mike Shanahan, Gary Kubiak under center outside wide zone, stretch
- 6:58Speaker 3: zone play action, which again we just saw under center
- 7:03Speaker 3: in the Eagles offense at times this year.
- 7:05Speaker 2: It's not their base offense by any stretch of the means.
- 7:09Speaker 3: And you've heard Nick Sirianni talk a lot about the
- 7:11Speaker 3: advantages of the shotgun in their offense. But again, again,
- 7:16Speaker 3: I don't put a lid on a coach, just like
- 7:17Speaker 3: I don't put a lid on a player. Right who
- 7:19Speaker 3: says that guys can't adapt? Certainly Kellen Moore came in here,
- 7:24Speaker 3: tried to run some of the stuff that he used
- 7:26Speaker 3: to do and didn't and adapted so that that's always
- 7:30Speaker 3: possible too.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, you have some other names over there,
- 7:34Speaker 1: And by the way, another name being reported by Joe,
- 7:37Speaker 1: not by Diana Roussini is Brian Dable. Let's look at him.
- 7:41Speaker 1: You list him as an ideal fit. I like him.
- 7:46Speaker 1: There has been talks about he's been a little abrasive
- 7:49Speaker 1: with the players, a little animated on the sideline. That
- 7:52Speaker 1: kind of stuff did work with Hurts Saquon. Do you
- 7:59Speaker 1: like his style for this offense?
- 8:02Speaker 3: His scheme and style yes, quick defined reads worked with
- 8:08Speaker 3: obviously athletic quarterbacks in Hurts, and he was.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Absolutely the hand picked guy.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Uh to go Jackson Dart, I should say it was
- 8:16Speaker 3: his hand pick guy in New York. So schematically, yes,
- 8:21Speaker 3: I think that there makes a lot of sense. I
- 8:24Speaker 3: think people just see like connections and think they're automatically great,
- 8:28Speaker 3: and that's works a little bit. He coached with Nick
- 8:31Speaker 3: Sirianni in Kansas City, so what's the relationship like? And
- 8:34Speaker 3: then everybody brings up he coached Tua at Alabama that
- 8:37Speaker 3: one year that he was offensive coordinator. I'm not too.
- 8:40Speaker 3: I'm sorry, well, yes too. But also Jen Hurts well
- 8:44Speaker 3: and they benched him.
- 8:45Speaker 4: So so no one seems to want to bring that
- 8:48Speaker 4: part up. They just want to say, hey, these guys
- 8:50Speaker 4: were together, uh in Alabama. Well that's not exactly the
- 8:53Speaker 4: fondest year of Jalen Hurts's memory.
- 8:56Speaker 3: So I don't know. I think schematically it makes a fit.
- 9:00Speaker 3: I think there's a lot of exterior that might make
- 9:02Speaker 3: it a bad fit.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Munkin Todd Munkin, formerly of the Ravens, very interesting one here.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I like this fit here. I'm interested to see your
- 9:13Speaker 1: breakdown of Munkin and whether he would be a good
- 9:15Speaker 1: choice here because you know, obviously the Lamar thing, Lamar
- 9:18Speaker 1: runs a lot, Jalen not so much anymore.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Correct, I think this is a real This is to
- 9:26Speaker 3: me is like the number one fit.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Now.
- 9:29Speaker 3: The unfortunate part is, I think a lot of teams
- 9:32Speaker 3: like Todd Munkin, and I think Todd Munkin and John
- 9:34Speaker 3: Harbaugh could certainly be still tied since they both leaving
- 9:38Speaker 3: Baltimore at the same time, and John Harbaugh could get
- 9:40Speaker 3: a job while we're talking, and name Monkin is offensive coordinator,
- 9:45Speaker 3: So if Munkin is gonna follow harpball, it's meaningless.
- 9:48Speaker 2: However, what I like about him for this job is
- 9:52Speaker 2: a you.
- 9:53Speaker 3: Know, you go back to Georgia, right, That's how his
- 9:55Speaker 3: favorite new college, Georgia. Munkin was the offensive coordinator there
- 9:59Speaker 3: when they the national championship. He was a throw he
- 10:01Speaker 3: was eleven in personnel, throw the ball kind of guy.
- 10:04Speaker 3: And then he gets a job in Baltimore and he
- 10:08Speaker 3: adjusts to the Baltimore scheme.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Right, they play a lot of tight ends.
- 10:13Speaker 3: They'll play two tight ends, they'll play three tight ends,
- 10:15Speaker 3: they'll play a fallback right athletic quarterback and under in
- 10:20Speaker 3: the first two years until things went haywire this year.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Lamar Jackson was MVP, then second in MVP. So here's
- 10:27Speaker 3: a guy who was able to meet in the middle
- 10:29Speaker 3: with the organization he was joining, recognized the personnel that
- 10:33Speaker 3: he had at his hand, recognized what had already been
- 10:36Speaker 3: in place, recognized what the quarterback likes to do, and
- 10:40Speaker 3: adapt his scheme to fit it. And they did pretty well. Obviously,
- 10:44Speaker 3: this last year did not go well. There's probably a
- 10:46Speaker 3: number of reasons why. But if you Lamar getting hurt.
- 10:51Speaker 3: But even when even when Lamar was playing there, it
- 10:53Speaker 3: just didn't have the same bite that offense. But if
- 10:56Speaker 3: you look at the bigger picture, I mean, those first
- 10:59Speaker 3: two years were fantastic, and I think he'd be really
- 11:02Speaker 3: good in this environment.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Listen, they have Lamar and they have Derrick Henry, So
- 11:07Speaker 1: they have a quarterback who can run and do stuff.
- 11:09Speaker 1: You have a running back who you can really feature. Now,
- 11:12Speaker 1: one thing the Eagles have that Baltimore does not are
- 11:14Speaker 1: two high level wide receivers, at least for now. Even
- 11:18Speaker 1: if you only have one, that's more than Baltimore generally has.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I mean, that's been their problem down there. I like
- 11:24Speaker 1: Monkin as well. I want to go to another guy
- 11:26Speaker 1: who has been in Baltimore just got fired, local guy
- 11:30Speaker 1: Greg Roman, and his fit because a lot of people
- 11:33Speaker 1: look at him because of his work with Lamar Jackson,
- 11:38Speaker 1: also Colin Kaepernick. He just had Herbert and has not
- 11:45Speaker 1: really had a stud level wide receiver. He's not had
- 11:49Speaker 1: like that number one great receiver. This would be an
- 11:53Speaker 1: interesting fit, but I feel like there's the framework of
- 11:57Speaker 1: it working. Do you think the Eagles would consider him a.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Remains to be seen.
- 12:03Speaker 3: I would ordinarily say yes he should, but it's weird.
- 12:07Speaker 3: They've had these openings in the past and I think
- 12:10Speaker 3: he's been available, and I'm not quite sure. I'd have
- 12:12Speaker 3: to go back and look if they've ever talked to
- 12:15Speaker 3: him about a position.
- 12:17Speaker 2: So it's kind of strange.
- 12:19Speaker 3: I mean, the local guy, as you know, the Holy
- 12:21Speaker 3: Spirit grad and South Jersey guy. So he has worked
- 12:25Speaker 3: for a lot of head coaches who prefer to run.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Going back to Rex Ryan and then both Jim and
- 12:31Speaker 3: John Harbaugh. It does seem that he has these jobs
- 12:36Speaker 3: for a while, does a nice job, but then a
- 12:38Speaker 3: team decides it wants to spice up his passing game
- 12:40Speaker 3: and then moves on from him. That seems to be
- 12:42Speaker 3: a repetitive theme. So if the Eagles want to revive
- 12:46Speaker 3: their run game, great perfect. But if they also really
- 12:50Speaker 3: more so want to spruce up their past game, which
- 12:53Speaker 3: has fallen off more than their run game, then maybe
- 12:56Speaker 3: not the best.
- 12:57Speaker 1: All right, A couple more with Jeff Boscher. You can
- 12:59Speaker 1: read this full piece over at Philly Voice dot com.
- 13:02Speaker 1: He's got all the candidates and gives you a lot
- 13:04Speaker 1: deeper thoughts on all these guys. Matt Nagy is an
- 13:07Speaker 1: Andy Reid kind of guy. He was in Chicago, he
- 13:10Speaker 1: was the head coach there. He's out back in Kansas City.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Not sure what that fit would look like because Andy
- 13:19Speaker 1: Reid's style of offense.
- 13:22Speaker 2: I definitely feel like there's Andy Reid fatigue.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Like whenever there's a Reid guy linked to the Eagles,
- 13:27Speaker 3: it's like, you.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Know, well, it's more because that offense is more West Coast,
- 13:32Speaker 1: and I don't know that that's a fit here.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Well, it depends, it depends what version of it.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Like, like the Shanahan McVeagh offense is technically West Coast,
- 13:42Speaker 3: but it's got a lot of modifications to their route
- 13:45Speaker 3: concepts are and Sirianni comes from, you know, an interesting
- 13:49Speaker 3: chain of Haley and Frank Reich. So there are West
- 13:52Speaker 3: Coast elements in his offense. But I mean he's an experience.
- 13:56Speaker 2: He listened. I think the.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Eagles have to hire a guy. We already talked about
- 13:59Speaker 3: this guy who's called plays, and it helps if this
- 14:03Speaker 3: guy has been a head coach and has led a
- 14:05Speaker 3: locker room and Naggie satisfies all that. And you know,
- 14:09Speaker 3: Naggie's also worked with a lot of different kind of quarterbacks,
- 14:12Speaker 3: going to you know, in Chicago, he had Trubisky. Of course,
- 14:15Speaker 3: he had Mahomes. I think he was there for Alex
- 14:17Speaker 3: Smith when they had Alex Smith.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Before first time in Kansas City, her.
- 14:24Speaker 2: First time in Kansas City. Right, So I mean, uh,
- 14:27Speaker 2: He's worked with a lot of different kind of guys
- 14:29Speaker 2: and you did not have experience.
- 14:30Speaker 1: You did not include Frank Reich on this list. Is
- 14:33Speaker 1: would you think he is not a candidate?
- 14:36Speaker 2: No, I would think he is not a candidate. We
- 14:39Speaker 2: just talked about proven play callers. Well, I mean he
- 14:42Speaker 2: wanted to be a proven play caller.
- 14:44Speaker 1: He was here and then he went to Indianapolis, Right,
- 14:47Speaker 1: But I'm saying then he went to Indianapolis. He did
- 14:49Speaker 1: call the place there.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Yeah, how'd that go?
- 14:52Speaker 1: Well? Not great? But I guess his familiarity with Sirianni.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I don't know how much a Sirianni has in this.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean exactly.
- 15:05Speaker 1: That's not a ringdorsement. You're not giving Sirianni a ringing
- 15:08Speaker 1: endorsement for having a lot of say, well.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Let's be on.
- 15:11Speaker 3: I mean, you're you've watched, we've all observed this team
- 15:14Speaker 3: for years.
- 15:15Speaker 2: When when things hit seem to hit the fan who
- 15:19Speaker 2: takes over and who takes charge and straightens them out?
- 15:22Speaker 2: I agree the owner in the GM would.
- 15:24Speaker 1: So would Doug Peterson have any interest in Would they
- 15:27Speaker 1: have interest in him?
- 15:30Speaker 2: I can't imagine from his side or their side. Yes,
- 15:37Speaker 2: Like with Doug, I don't know. I mean, Doug is
- 15:40Speaker 2: not the type of guy to hold grudges or anything, but.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I think he has said that he would be interested.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Would he be like Robert Sala where he says, you
- 15:46Speaker 1: know what, I would just come back, I don't care.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Yeah, uh sure, experience definitely A play caller had a
- 15:53Speaker 3: good year in twenty seventeen.
- 15:56Speaker 1: At least it's a guy that Jalen's played for it.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Is it is, Well, hey, why don't we throw Marty
- 16:02Speaker 3: morning Leg and Rich Gangarello in there.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I'm just saying, Jalen, we keep talking
- 16:07Speaker 1: about all the different play callers. He at least played
- 16:09Speaker 1: for Doug and played in that offense and at least
- 16:12Speaker 1: probably has some of the terminology and you know all
- 16:15Speaker 1: that stuff. But you know, that's another question. So we're
- 16:18Speaker 1: talking about all these guys. How much is Jalen's evolution
- 16:27Speaker 1: and growth as a quarterback just been stunted by all
- 16:29Speaker 1: of this?
- 16:31Speaker 2: How can anybody answer that question?
- 16:33Speaker 3: You know, that's like me asking unfairly how much of
- 16:36Speaker 3: Kevin Batullo's growth as an offensive coordinator was stunted by
- 16:40Speaker 3: Jalen hurts his unwillingness or inability or whatever negative verb
- 16:46Speaker 3: to throw over the middle of the field.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I have no problem with that kind of Like listen,
- 16:49Speaker 1: I do the pie chart of problem. I give Kevin
- 16:51Speaker 1: Batoola about twenty ten percent of this.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Well, I'm glad you said that, because I really do
- 16:57Speaker 3: a lot of things I've been hearing, not from your
- 17:00Speaker 3: per se or just in general. Are our framings of
- 17:02Speaker 3: the Eagles issues right now? Is who is to blame
- 17:06Speaker 3: or who's more at fall. I mean, does Howie Roseman
- 17:10Speaker 3: have strengths and weaknesses.
- 17:12Speaker 1: In one hundred percent?
- 17:13Speaker 2: And I think you can start.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I think you look at some of the weaknesses infiltrate
- 17:17Speaker 1: it into this team.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Okay. Does Nick Sirianni have strengths.
- 17:20Speaker 1: And weakness strengths?
- 17:24Speaker 2: Does Jalen Hurts have strengths and weaknesses?
- 17:26Speaker 1: Sure?
- 17:27Speaker 2: Okay, So it can't just all be The reason why they've.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Been so successful for the in this five year realm, right,
- 17:33Speaker 3: is because all of their strengths work really well for
- 17:36Speaker 3: this organization. The reason why they're inconsistent and have slides
- 17:40Speaker 3: and then lose a wild card game was because their
- 17:42Speaker 3: weaknesses hold them back at times.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Right. So, I because I heard Jeffromotion Cities tell of
- 17:48Speaker 2: just uh.
- 17:48Speaker 3: Next oc doesn't matter put him in. We've got a
- 17:51Speaker 3: top five offense. And I love Jeffer Mozi. He's always
- 17:53Speaker 3: a good interactor with you. Right, But they've never had
- 17:56Speaker 3: a top five offense. Maybe like twenty twenty two, they
- 18:00Speaker 3: if they did, but they didn't have one when they
- 18:02Speaker 3: went to the Super Bowl last year and they had
- 18:04Speaker 3: the fourth worth passing offense.
- 18:05Speaker 2: So it's not as easy as just.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Put it all on one guy's change the guy out
- 18:10Speaker 3: and let's get going. I mean, it doesn't work that way.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I agree, you know, and I just look at it
- 18:15Speaker 1: like this. You know, it's so funny. We were talking
- 18:17Speaker 1: about this at the beginning the show, and we'll get
- 18:18Speaker 1: you out on this is. You know, you go to
- 18:20Speaker 1: these Twitter guys breaking down plays, they find one play
- 18:24Speaker 1: and then that's the whole game. I hate it, right,
- 18:27Speaker 1: the whole game was this one play and that and
- 18:30Speaker 1: and it's like, and I love Kurt Warners, it's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 18:34Speaker 1: What are you talking about here? Because you know, you
- 18:36Speaker 1: got one guy saying they ran the same play twice
- 18:40Speaker 1: and Warners like, who cares? The guys were open on
- 18:43Speaker 1: both times they ran it. You know, It's like, you know,
- 18:46Speaker 1: but I think that's what the thing is is how
- 18:50Speaker 1: much you look through the season and it's like, how
- 18:55Speaker 1: many plays do they miss because the quarterback doesn't like
- 18:59Speaker 1: to do X, Y and Z? And then how much
- 19:01Speaker 1: do they not call because the quarterback doesn't like to
- 19:04Speaker 1: do X, Y and Z.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Well would the quarterback have a hand in it?
- 19:07Speaker 1: Exactly exactly?
- 19:08Speaker 3: They all and you know, they can hire a great
- 19:11Speaker 3: offensive coordinator with a great scheme or a scheme Kellen Moore,
- 19:15Speaker 3: and it may just wind up going back to what
- 19:18Speaker 3: it was and maybe they just need to improve it
- 19:20Speaker 3: things a little bit better and they'll be fine, and
- 19:22Speaker 3: then we'll say everybody is great again, and that's the
- 19:25Speaker 3: way it works. You know, there was just a loud
- 19:28Speaker 3: Mike McDaniel is the answer for this team.
- 19:30Speaker 2: He's wants to do well. How do you know that?
- 19:32Speaker 2: How do you know he's gonna want to run his scheme?
- 19:34Speaker 2: How do you know they're gonna let him run his scheme?
- 19:36Speaker 3: If Mike McDaniel has to do with Kellen Moore basically
- 19:39Speaker 3: did which is scrap the scheme and just call the
- 19:42Speaker 3: Nick Sirianni slash Eagles offense? Is he as good as
- 19:45Speaker 3: the Mike McDaniel you think you're getting. It's just so
- 19:47Speaker 3: irresponsible unless you know exactly what the team wants to
- 19:52Speaker 3: do right now. Do they want to totally get a
- 19:55Speaker 3: different scheme or do they want someone who can adapt
- 19:58Speaker 3: well to theirs. Until you know that, it's almost impossible
- 20:01Speaker 3: to know who's the best.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Your pick would be? Who I said, munkin you like Munkin. Yeah,
- 20:06Speaker 1: I think I'm on that. I like Dable, I like Munkin.
- 20:09Speaker 1: They're the two guys that would probably be my favorites
- 20:11Speaker 1: right now. I like McDaniel a lot. I just don't
- 20:13Speaker 1: think he fits here.
- 20:14Speaker 3: The only thing that the Dable thing is like if
- 20:18Speaker 3: you get like a couple, you know, Nick Siriani is
- 20:20Speaker 3: a hothead.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Table's a hothead. Hurts is not a hot head at all,
- 20:24Speaker 2: but he's very steeped in his convictions. You can lose
- 20:28Speaker 2: two games in a row and you get.
- 20:29Speaker 3: Those three guys in a room, and that room might
- 20:31Speaker 3: be bouncing, there might be smoke coming out of those walls.
- 20:33Speaker 2: So who knows. I don't know.
- 20:34Speaker 3: Sometimes you need the opposite of you to keep you
- 20:37Speaker 3: in check, right, I don't know if you need another
- 20:39Speaker 3: one of you, Nick Sirianni.
