- 0:06Speaker 3: Now back to the Mark Simone show on w o R.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh Katie
- 0:14Speaker 1: in Deep River? Katie, how you doing?
- 0:18Speaker 4: I'm doing Mark?
- 0:19Speaker 1: Hi, where's Deep River?
- 0:22Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 0:22Speaker 4: Deep River, Connecticut?
- 0:24Speaker 1: Where's that?
- 0:28Speaker 4: Saybrook?
- 0:28Speaker 1: Oh, okay, I'll I'll talk.
- 0:31Speaker 4: Then it's Yankee Magazine said it's uh, the scruffy neighbor
- 0:38Speaker 4: of Essex and old, Saybrook.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Well, that is quite something. They'll really be proud of that.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Old probably the only person that's ever actually read Old
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yankee magazine.
- 0:49Speaker 4: But okay, it's big news around here. Yeah, Old Yankee magazine.
- 0:56Speaker 1: I would expect to see like Mickey Rivers on the cover,
- 0:58Speaker 1: but go ahead.
- 1:01Speaker 4: It's usually like a Norman Rockwell painting of some kind,
- 1:05Speaker 4: something like that.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Well, it sounds very nice.
- 1:09Speaker 4: It is, it's pretty good. I'm from I'm from Yorktown
- 1:12Speaker 4: Heights originally, so you know, I moved over to Connecticut.
- 1:15Speaker 4: So anyway, Well, I wanted to you mentioned mel Brooks
- 1:19Speaker 4: and his movie Spaceballs yesterday, and coincidentally, I had watched
- 1:24Speaker 4: Spaceballs the night before and I thought, well, that's really neat.
- 1:28Speaker 4: And then also coincidentally, Ronda Sheer makes a little cameo
- 1:33Speaker 4: in that movie in the diner scene.
- 1:35Speaker 3: She does yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 1: And then when I called me last hour, I could
- 1:39Speaker 1: have talked to her about it.
- 1:40Speaker 4: I did, I didn't get through. I didn't get through Yeah.
- 1:45Speaker 4: And then I was like, I wonder what the chances
- 1:46Speaker 4: are that Ronda Shear is.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Going to be on.
- 1:48Speaker 4: She's one of my favorites, and you had her on.
- 1:51Speaker 4: So I don't know what to do with that information,
- 1:52Speaker 4: but I think it's pretty neat.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Well, you are a coincidence machine. Well, Katie, nice to
- 1:57Speaker 1: talk to you. Thanks for calling call us again. Let's
- 2:00Speaker 1: let's go to Stewart in South Carolina. Stuart, how you're doing, hey, Mark?
- 2:05Speaker 2: You know, I just want to mention the Liberals have
- 2:07Speaker 2: spent decades vilifying the police. Remember when they used to
- 2:10Speaker 2: pour buckets of water on the officers heads and the
- 2:14Speaker 2: officers did absolutely nothing. I mean, nobody has any clue
- 2:19Speaker 2: what it's like to be a police officer, what it's
- 2:22Speaker 2: like to work every day on the street knowing you
- 2:25Speaker 2: may never go home. The Liberals have created this situation
- 2:31Speaker 2: where people think that it's perfectly okay to fight the
- 2:33Speaker 2: police and resist arrest because they know nothing's going to
- 2:36Speaker 2: happen to them. And then when you get an incident
- 2:39Speaker 2: like this where people are resisting arrest and the police
- 2:42Speaker 2: have to fight them, then the public is all up
- 2:44Speaker 2: in arms. When they have created this situation, it is
- 2:48Speaker 2: just phenomenal. This is we have a lot of NYPD
- 2:51Speaker 2: officers who have left that have come south and working
- 2:53Speaker 2: down here in Florida, South Carolina, Georgia because it has
- 2:58Speaker 2: just gotten so intolerant. What it's like.
- 3:01Speaker 4: There's like seven hundred and fifty thousand.
- 3:03Speaker 2: Uniformed officers across the United States for well over three
- 3:06Speaker 2: hundred and thirty million people. We are out manned, we
- 3:09Speaker 2: are out hunted, and now the courts are against us.
- 3:13Speaker 2: The liberals are against us, not in the South, but
- 3:15Speaker 2: in the north.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Now.
- 3:16Speaker 1: It all started with those Jill Deblasio who came up
- 3:19Speaker 1: with this, oh, decriminalized resisting arrest and Alvin Bragg who
- 3:24Speaker 1: decided to decriminalize resisting arrest. And if you do that,
- 3:28Speaker 1: exactly what you get a guy like this resisting arrest.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Absolutely, And then they put Alvin Bragg back in which
- 3:35Speaker 2: just it was phenomenal me. How could they put this
- 3:38Speaker 2: guy back in from the bodega when he wanted to
- 3:41Speaker 2: charge this guy from murder to Penny on the subway,
- 3:44Speaker 2: who saved those people's lives. I mean, the list is endless.
- 3:47Speaker 1: More Well, great call, Stuart, Thanks for calling. The only
- 3:50Speaker 1: answer to this vote for Bruce Blakeman for governor. You
- 3:53Speaker 1: need a common sense governor. You know, the governor can
- 3:57Speaker 1: fire Alvin Bragg. The governor can get rid of district attorneys.
- 4:01Speaker 1: The district attorneys actually work for the governor. It's a
- 4:03Speaker 1: state shop. That's why there's no term limits on these
- 4:06Speaker 1: district attorneys. So another reason you got to vote for
- 4:09Speaker 1: Bruce Blakeman for governor. Let's go to Don in New
- 4:12Speaker 1: York City. Don. How you doing?
- 4:14Speaker 3: Yeah, Mark, Yes, I believe that Showane McClain was very
- 4:18Speaker 3: involved with the rat Pack.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Well yeah, she was kind of the mascot of the
- 4:22Speaker 1: rat Pack, but we were more talking about the hot
- 4:25Speaker 1: women they were lusting after. That wasn't Shirley mclainch. She
- 4:28Speaker 1: was like a sister.
- 4:31Speaker 3: What she was pretty hot.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You better sit down, you need to rest. She was
- 4:37Speaker 1: very nice, but she was more like a like a
- 4:39Speaker 1: kid's sister to them. Let's go to Ben in New Jersey. Ben.
- 4:43Speaker 1: How you doing Hey?
- 4:45Speaker 3: Mark? Good morning? Mark? About that ed Sullivan Theater. Back
- 4:48Speaker 3: when I was fourteen, back like around sixty seven, there
- 4:50Speaker 3: was recording studios actually upstairs from that side entrance where
- 4:56Speaker 3: you go in to hide in the theater, and that
- 4:58Speaker 3: was known as ten Pen. A lot of single room
- 5:01Speaker 3: little studios where you pay the guy a few bucks.
- 5:04Speaker 3: He sat at a piano and banged out a well.
- 5:06Speaker 1: That was one. That was one place. Tin Panaley was
- 5:09Speaker 1: a series of buildings, including the Brill Building. It was
- 5:12Speaker 1: a lot of places. It's where that's true, it's where
- 5:14Speaker 1: the songwriters all worked.
- 5:16Speaker 3: I went to a session with BT Puppy Records, who
- 5:20Speaker 3: was the producers for See You in September by the Happenings, Yeah,
- 5:24Speaker 3: just still happened that. Bob Rivera, the lead singer, was
- 5:27Speaker 3: a neighbor of a friend of mine.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Oh my god, wait give me a minute, this is fascinating.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Who are you talking to?
- 5:34Speaker 3: On the session? So I sat it on the session
- 5:37Speaker 3: and I ended up playing tambourine on one of the tracks,
- 5:40Speaker 3: and that would See You in September.
- 5:42Speaker 1: My god, you should be this should be a Netflix documentary.
- 5:45Speaker 1: This is the most incredible life story I missed. Yeah,
- 5:49Speaker 1: the names that you could, Wow, you got to write
- 5:51Speaker 1: a book about this. How you met Bob ravera of
- 5:54Speaker 1: some group we don't know and played tambourine on a
- 5:57Speaker 1: record we didn't hear. But otherwise sounds great. Good call,
- 6:02Speaker 1: thanks for calling. Uh uh oh, that's Miranda Divine. What
- 6:07Speaker 1: is she calling about the cancel? Well, hopefully when we
- 6:10Speaker 1: come back we'll talk to her next. Miranda Divine, The
- 6:13Speaker 1: Brilliant Calumnists coming up next on seven to ten wor
