- 2:17do. 9:00 We were supposed to have them, but we have them on
- 2:20at 9:30. We're now talking to former
- 2:23Jets, Dolphins and Rams defensive end, the one and only
- 2:27Quentin Colpost. Quentin, what's up, buddy?
- 2:29What's going on, fellas? We're good, man.
- 2:33Listen, it's OK. But I'm here now, so let's let's
- 2:37do it. All right, listen, I like the
- 2:38hat. It definitely matches with The
- 2:40Jets colors, even though I'm ashamed every single time I say
- 2:44I'm a Jet fan, but nevertheless, then you.
- 2:47Are you say that every time? It's true, I mean.
- 2:51Future is bright. The feud, well, we can only
- 2:53hope. I mean, I do like Aaron Glenn.
- 2:56She loves bright. I like Aaron Glenn.
- 2:58So why don't we go into the offseason so far and the New
- 3:01York Jets obviously fire Joe Douglas and Roberts, all is
- 3:05gone. No more.
- 3:06Jeff Olbrich as his son did some unique and weird things during
- 3:10the draft, but The Jets added obviously a new new GM and a
- 3:16very good coach. He was a New York Jet.
- 3:18Aaron Glenn. He was a all pro New York Jet.
- 3:21He was a pro ball player for a couple of years.
- 3:23I think it was four years and he was at 1.1 of the better corners
- 3:27in the NFL. What were your thoughts when you
- 3:29heard that the New York Jets were going to hire Aaron Glenn?
- 3:35Little skeptical at first, but he's a player so I'm always
- 3:39going to be pro player coaches. I just think that we have an
- 3:42edge in a different coaching dynamic when it comes to
- 3:47coaching players and getting the best out of players.
- 3:49So for me, I was a little shocked a little bit, but only
- 3:55due to the fact that, you know, Aaron was the quarterback at the
- 3:58time of him being becoming the head coach or being hired as the
- 4:01head coach. But I think it was a good pick.
- 4:04I think it's a good pick. I'm always going to be pro
- 4:06player coaches, like I said before, and I think if the front
- 4:11office can stay out of the, I think you guys might have a shot
- 4:15at contending. I won't give too much.
- 4:18Hold on, you say you guys, but wait a second.
- 4:21This is the same you guys that drafted you in the first round.
- 4:24Sexy Rexy and his dancing with his little mop on his head.
- 4:27So you say you guys, but you were a New York Jet buddy, you
- 4:31were a first round prospect. So I would say.
- 4:34My time there, I grew up a Steeler fan, so I'm actually a
- 4:38Steeler. Fan Well, you're going to have
- 4:40Aaron Rodgers as you It was announced yesterday that Aaron
- 4:43Rodgers is heading to the Steelers.
- 4:45So at least you have a quarterback, but a quarterback
- 4:48that likes to screw up locker rooms, as we all know.
- 4:50So good luck on that. Buddy, good luck.
- 4:53Only only in locker rooms that he's in control.
- 4:57There's a different shift in dynamic and power structure over
- 5:00there in pitch. Really, really, let me ask you a
- 5:03question, and I'm going to be quite honest with you, with
- 5:07everybody keeps talking of how great the Pittsburgh Steelers
- 5:10are. When was the last time the
- 5:12Pittsburgh Steelers actually won a playoff game?
- 5:16Last time we won a playoff game, it's been like covered up.
- 5:19It's decade. It's over 10 years. 10 years and
- 5:23you're going to say that they're built and and they're.
- 5:25But we made it to the playoffs, So who?
- 5:27Cares if you make it to the playoffs.
- 5:30Yeah, I know that's that's because we had Super Bowls and
- 5:33the standard is to win the Super Bowl.
- 5:35It's like you just overlooked the whole playoff scenario, like
- 5:38how difficult it is to actually make it to the playoffs.
- 5:42Are The Jets? Did The Jets make it?
- 5:44A First of all, to stop bringing up The Jets.
- 5:46We know they. Suck.
- 5:48I am AI, am a Jets fan. We know they stink.
- 5:51They're. Absolutely.
- 5:52He's also an. Eagles fan, but I'm a supporter.
- 5:55I want the best for The Jets just because they took a chance
- 5:58on me. So I want the best for them and
- 6:01there were some things that I I would have asked them to do a
- 6:03little differently before I left.
- 6:06But you know, I didn't have that type of power control, but I
- 6:10think they the feature looks bright.
- 6:13We'll just leave that. There.
- 6:15Yeah. We said that four years ago,
- 6:16Quentin. We said that five years ago.
- 6:18We said that 10 years ago. We said that 20-30 years ago.
- 6:21And where is the brightness? Let's go.
- 6:24Let's go through it before I let Speedy ask you a question.
- 6:26Let's go through it. Browning Nagle, wonderful, He
- 6:30was wonderful. You bring in Neil Donald,
- 6:33absolutely wonderful as he went, He went to a Super Bowl from
- 6:37your Steelers and then he goes to The Jets and absolutely is a
- 6:40bombshell. Then you decide, hey, you know
- 6:43what, let's let's go with Mangini, man genius as he calls
- 6:46him. He decides, hey, let's bring in
- 6:48Brett Favre. That really worked and he gets
- 6:51fired within a couple of years. Then they decide, hey, you know
- 6:54what we're going to do? We're going to bring in a young
- 6:56quarterback in Mark Sanchez. He goes to two AFC title games
- 7:00and couldn't get over the hump because he's eating hot dogs on
- 7:02the sidelines. Then let's go out.
- 7:05Let's go after that. Christian Hackenberg.
- 7:07Oh yeah, that guy. Second round draft pick from
- 7:09Penn State, wonderful pick by the New York Jets as he couldn't
- 7:12have a bronze side of a, what do they call him but back.
- 7:15They couldn't have the broad side of the bar and hit a bar.
- 7:17Now can hit a reporter, unfortunately, there it is.
- 7:20Then after that, they went with Geno Smith.
- 7:23How how far did that go? Second round draft pick,
- 7:25absolute bombshell. Then Sam Darnold, they bring him
- 7:29in the top three pick. How did that work out for The
- 7:31Jets? He goes to Minnesota and almost
- 7:33wins an MVP and now he's over there with Seattle.
- 7:36Then you'll oh, let's go with another one.
- 7:40Zach Wilson. What a pick that was second pick
- 7:43of the first round. How long did it take him for The
- 7:45Jets decide to part ways with him?
- 7:47It we go on and on and on and on and on.
- 7:50It's just it's absolutely putrid.
- 7:52Maybe Justin Fields is the guy we have to see how he gets
- 7:55developed. But nevertheless, it's just
- 7:57never good when you here the New York Jets are looking for a
- 8:00quarterback. I think it's as a culture thing
- 8:03there and that's something I've been preaching to a lot of
- 8:05people when they asked me about The Jets.
- 8:07Like what? What is the identity of being a
- 8:09Jet like? OK, so if you, for instance,
- 8:12Pittsburgh is render ball, right?
- 8:14It's downhill is collect blue collar like you hear these terms
- 8:18thrown around no hard work. OK, so you go to Patriots when
- 8:21they was on their their run, it was militant.
- 8:24It was very orderly fashion, like they they had this standard
- 8:29of being like you can't do nothing but buy into football,
- 8:33you know, And so where's the culture for The Jets?
- 8:36And that's my thing. And I think that's the missing
- 8:38piece because there's no identity.
- 8:40You have the big city, you have the support, you have the
- 8:42lights, you have everything you need, The facilities is amazing.
- 8:46You have everything you need and thrown apart.
- 8:48However, you just don't have no culture.
- 8:51There's no identity when it comes to New York Jets.
- 8:53What else is it that's like? Hey, you got the butt fumble.
- 8:58Come on, see like you go downhill from there.
- 9:02Of course you had to bring that. Come on Java, that was his
- 9:04rookie year. You don't need to.
- 9:06Bring him. I saw it live right there.
- 9:09And yeah, we don't, we don't. What is the culture?
- 9:16We don't have a culture here. And I think, and I say that and
- 9:19say I think there's the front office and the foot and the
- 9:23football on the field. Guys are intertwining and I
- 9:27don't think that should ever happen.
- 9:28I think you should let the football guys be the football
- 9:30guys and the front of front office people be the front
- 9:33office people. And that way you have you have
- 9:36it established already. You understand, like even when
- 9:38we was there with Rex, Rex, anybody that was smart knew that
- 9:42we needed Andy Reid or somebody who just knows offense front in
- 9:47the back where he don't have to go over there at all.
- 9:49He don't even have to go to the meeting.
- 9:51He could trust his offensive court that he never had that We
- 9:56can stop. We can stop an offense, but how
- 9:57much can we stop if we keep doing 3 and out, three and out?
- 10:01You know, how often can you stop?
- 10:03No matter what great defense you have, it don't matter.
- 10:05You can have all pro all the way across the board.
- 10:08If you 3 and out, three and out, three and out, as a human,
- 10:10you're going to get tired. As a human, you're going to have
- 10:12an error. And then that one error can cost
- 10:14you 6-7 points, Three points here, there.
- 10:18So I think that's that. Like we're not they're not
- 10:20paying attention to the things that's going to get them over
- 10:23the edge. And it's just let's just get the
- 10:25right pieces that looks good on paper in regards to roster wise
- 10:29and coaching wise, but never like identifying what the
- 10:33culture is and actually putting the system and schemes around
- 10:37it. Like there was no scheme set up
- 10:39for Gino. There's like we're not trying to
- 10:43be the greatest, like we're not trying to beat people.
- 10:46We're just putting people in position to actually try to win
- 10:49the game. And then there's needs to be
- 10:52there needs to be a scheme that you can implement that can
- 10:55actually work that this this quarterback is actually
- 10:58comfortable with that he could actually function with.
- 11:01And then that can go from whether it's, you know, check
- 11:04downs and bubble screens, running gun, West Coast offense,
- 11:06it's whatever you want to do. You can't establish a run if you
- 11:09don't have an old line. So therefore you need to make
- 11:12you need to put a scheme in where we do zones, we do
- 11:15screens. We do, you know, half that
- 11:17screens like we do these different things that kind of
- 11:19make these guys feel like they can block, give them confidence,
- 11:23give them some momentum to be a give them something to work
- 11:26with. Now that opens up for the past.
- 11:29And I don't think The Jets take that serious.
- 11:31And I think, you know, hopefully things change or things shift.
- 11:35So I wanted to ask from the culture standpoint, like I was
- 11:37saying when The Jets hired Aaron Glenn at the time, like even if
- 11:40they don't get the quick fixes, I think we were kind of getting
- 11:42out with the culture. Like they try to go for the best
- 11:44players just to get a quick fix and it doesn't work for them.
- 11:46Like do you think this analogy makes sense?
- 11:49Like comparing it to maybe the 2022 line, They just missed the
- 11:51playoffs but they have the big second-half or the Eagles in 21
- 11:54when Sirianni first got hired, they squeaked in in the playoffs
- 11:57when they were supposed to be one of the worst teams in the
- 11:58NFC. Is that the type of year you
- 12:00want to see from The Jets, even though, even if they don't like
- 12:02make the playoffs right away so the players buy in?
- 12:05Yeah, I I think that I think they can have that type of year
- 12:08due to the fact that there's no really threat in the AFC.
- 12:13It's like there's no true, like, OK, we know they're going to be
- 12:17dominant. You know, you got the Dolphins
- 12:21who have the skills and the talent, but you know, with Tua
- 12:25and his concussions and, you know, the instability at the QB
- 12:29position and inconsistency they've had, they've
- 12:32demonstrated throughout the last year.
- 12:34So you don't know, you know, they're not a guarantee that,
- 12:37you know, they're going to come in and be, you know, Kansas City
- 12:41or whoever, right. Like, it's, it's one of those
- 12:43things. New England still a mess in my
- 12:47opinion. So Buffalo is dominant.
- 12:51Yeah. But I, I think you can sneak
- 12:54right up under there into like a wild card situation.
- 12:57I don't know if you guys can win the conference, but, you know, I
- 13:01think Buffalo pretty much has that control in regards to being
- 13:06consistent enough to be able to actually win the conference and
- 13:09actually put the product out there on the field.
- 13:12So, but I think you guys could sneak in and be a wild card.
- 13:15I don't. Yeah, I can see it happening if
- 13:18you win games. But the first, to me, the first
- 13:22four games, it tells me how the season is going to go.
- 13:25Do you think too like when it when it comes down to that, do
- 13:28you think the draft class they and I don't know how much you
- 13:33paid attention to it, but do you think they filled spots that
- 13:35they needed to? And do you think with the guys
- 13:38coming in, do you think Aaron Glenn and I agree 100% when it
- 13:43comes to, you know, having a player beat a coach?
- 13:45Because it's just I understand there's different eyes that see
- 13:49different things, but as players, you can kind of relate
- 13:52when they come at you because they're coming at you for a
- 13:54reason because they've been through it.
- 13:56So IA 100% agree. So do you think that they, you
- 13:59know what the guys they brought in, Do you think Aaron Glenn
- 14:03will be able to relate that to Woody and be like, hey, let me
- 14:06handle the XS and OS, you handle the other BS and stay out of my
- 14:10business and let me do my work? It's tough one because we're not
- 14:16in the rooms, but then 2 is not understand our relationship.
- 14:18But from what I know, I don't know if Glenn has that cachet to
- 14:23be able to make demands right now.
- 14:28To me, I think they're going to want to see him win to some
- 14:32level and degree before he comes in with any type of demands,
- 14:35sadly. But, and I also think that's
- 14:39going to play a part where is, or is he still tied to like that
- 14:45old school mentality and schemes or, or is he, is he able to
- 14:50relate to these kids and adapt and, and adapt and implement
- 14:54something that that speaks their language and not so much our
- 14:57language or the language that was before me.
- 15:00These kids now are a little different.
- 15:04You know, I'm saying this at the high school level.
- 15:05I'm saying this at the college level where they're not
- 15:08necessarily it's like going from a dial up to AI, like totally
- 15:16different world, like just unbelievable difference.
- 15:20And they're not necessarily they don't want to back in our day,
- 15:24we had a tight papers, you know, I mean, and now you got AI who
- 15:28can type of paper in 2 minutes, you know, I mean, and just say
- 15:32don't pleasure eyes and then it makes something up for you in 2
- 15:36minutes. So with that being said, can he
- 15:39adapt to that level and get the these new this new generation to
- 15:43buy in? Half of it is going to come with
- 15:45winning, but also if he could create us a fun scheme that that
- 15:50everybody buys into, I think that gets them over the edge.
- 15:54But do you think athletes are softer now today than they were
- 15:57back then? I wouldn't use that term, but I
- 16:01think they're they're more skilled, but they don't they
- 16:05lack the discipline and the fundamentals.
- 16:09So when you have a super athlete, they don't understand
- 16:13the fundamentals of understanding, OK, you know, for
- 16:17me, lining up against a left tackle and looking at his
- 16:21kneecap. OK, I should I shouldn't say
- 16:24softer, but are are are less to take constructive criticism and
- 16:29feel like they're being attacked more instead of taking.
- 16:32But that's where, yeah, well, I think that's where the player
- 16:35coach comes in there because it's easier to receive more from
- 16:38a player side. I don't know, but these days
- 16:43these kids want something that's more relevant.
- 16:45Like what have you done in the last five years?
- 16:47Like are you one of those guys who retired early and then got
- 16:51the job and now you can relate to the struggles that I go
- 16:54through with these that nature. So it's one of those things
- 16:56where my generation and before we was always told to respect
- 16:59your peers, even if you know something better.
- 17:02There's always that that genuine respect these kids today, it's
- 17:06like if I don't buy into it, I'm checking out.
- 17:08I mean, you look at it from the Pittsburgh side, like George
- 17:10Pickens, like even though Arthur Smith is a horrible offensive
- 17:15coordinator, he did a horrible job.
- 17:17I ain't going to say he'll harbor, but he he did a horrible
- 17:19job with like scheming him and put him in different route
- 17:23concepts that can actually allow him to flourish.
- 17:29He threw a temper tantras and he had like some sometimes where
- 17:33you like question it. Now receivers are always Divas,
- 17:37but there's there's control that needs to happen and I just don't
- 17:41think that this generation know how to control their emotions
- 17:47because they growing up in a society that tells them whatever
- 17:51they're feeling is right. We are talking to former Jets,
- 17:55Dolphins and Rams defensive defensive end Quinton Couples.
- 17:59He was a first round draft pick for the New York Jets.
- 18:01I think that year The Jets had three first round draft picks
- 18:05and he was one of them. And and you want you want me to
- 18:08tell you something and I agree with you.
- 18:10I think a lot of players are prima donnas.
- 18:12You watch the NBA, It's enough said.
- 18:14I mean, the LJA, the LeBron James Association has always
- 18:17been a prima Donna sport. Ever since LeBron James is
- 18:20coming to the league. I think the NFL has transitioned
- 18:22into that. I think it hasn't benefited any
- 18:25of the players, but there is a player that was drafted by the
- 18:29New York Giants this past year and fell to the Giants and
- 18:33everybody thought that this guy was the predominant number one
- 18:36pick in any other draft class. But obviously Tennessee needed a
- 18:41quarterback. If they didn't need a
- 18:42quarterback, Abdul Carter would have been the number one pick.
- 18:44He's the best player in this class defensively and, and some
- 18:48people say that he could. He's so talented, he's so
- 18:51athletic. He could probably play some
- 18:53offensive positions as well. Your thoughts to Abdul Carter
- 18:58going to the New York Giants? What type of player should the
- 19:00Giants fans look forward to watching as a Giant fan?
- 19:06He's special and I, I comment later on this whole playing both
- 19:11sides, yeah, he's a special kid man.
- 19:15I think they could be excited about him.
- 19:19But one thing about it, I think they had a great draft overall.
- 19:23I think they probably the first round especially they had a day.
- 19:25They won the first round by far. So to me and then so I think
- 19:31they got a great, great, great pass rusher, great talent.
- 19:35It's hard to say what he's going to do in the NFL even with the
- 19:39athleticism because like I go back to you, like a lot of times
- 19:44people don't realize that no matter how skilled you are, if
- 19:46you're in the wrong scheme, it can go downhill fast.
- 19:50And the thing about him, he's similar to Michael Parson and
- 19:54things that nature like, I don't want them to get too crazy,
- 19:57which New York Giants ain't really like that in regards to.
- 20:01How they pay their defensive lineman, they pretty much pay
- 20:03them straight up. But that whole hybrid now, they
- 20:06call it a edge where you drop it in the coverage or you're doing
- 20:09everything but rushing the passer.
- 20:12As long as he's rushing the passer, I think he's going to be
- 20:14great. I think he's going to be all
- 20:15right. I would love to see how you
- 20:17respond if they haven't like losing seasons because this when
- 20:20you really understand the identity of the player when they
- 20:23haven't losing season when they slide protection to him, things
- 20:27of that nature. That's too much, too much
- 20:30familiar with who New York got on a front, but he.
- 20:34Dexter Lawrence. Obviously special.
- 20:36Yeah, that's nice. You bit for he came from the
- 20:38Cowboys, right? Yeah, and Thibodeau, Dexter
- 20:41Lawrence was drafted. He he was a draft pick.
- 20:43Oh, he's drafted there. Yeah, Ryan Burns was the one
- 20:46that was. Trying Caroline, Yeah, Burns,
- 20:47who's really sensational his second-half.
- 20:50Brian Burns actually had a good second-half.
- 20:52The first couple of games Brian Burns did not look really,
- 20:55really good. But now you have Burns, he's a
- 20:57he's a pro ball player. You have Dexter next to
- 21:00Lawrence, who's probably the best defensive tackle in all the
- 21:02football, and then you have a guy like Abdul Carter.
- 21:05You have Thibodeau. They're still so.
- 21:07They stacked. Yes, they could.
- 21:09They're trying to kind of get that jet line where they had,
- 21:12yes, JPP and all the boys there. Yeah, yeah.
- 21:16OK. Justin Todd Kiwanuka yeah, they
- 21:18they were the Giants. Yeah.
- 21:21OC Human Yor. So yeah, they they they have a
- 21:25tremendous amount of talent. You, the Giants have always
- 21:28built their team around their defensive line, line and
- 21:30linebacker play. And now you you have a guy that
- 21:33is a linebacker, an outside linebacker that you could put as
- 21:36a defensive end. You can scheme in many different
- 21:38ways. He's not just good, He's not
- 21:40just good at rushing the quarterback.
- 21:42He can actually stop the run. He can he's so athletic.
- 21:45The question is how healthy is he going to be?
- 21:47Remember, he just got screws put in his ankle.
- 21:50I mean, that puts a lot of pressure on his legs and he
- 21:53likes, he likes to what they say is he gets very, very, very low
- 21:57to the ground and, and, and around the bend.
- 22:00So that puts a lot of stress on your legs and your ankles.
- 22:03Obviously you are a pass rusher, obviously your defensive
- 22:05lineman. What kind of pressure is that
- 22:08going to be for a guy that's a rookie who could do anything
- 22:12athletically as a defensive lineman?
- 22:15And now, obviously with the injuries, could he do what he
- 22:17did in Penn State? Yeah, I, I, I believe so.
- 22:22I mean, Penn State still power 5 school out.
- 22:25If he went to Doctor Anderson, hopefully he did, he'll be real
- 22:29good. Because they, you know, it's,
- 22:31it's a difference in the surgery when you got, you know, the
- 22:34screws in and they got like this met this rubber plate that they
- 22:38put in versus the rod, which is the rod is it sucks and it has
- 22:43killed a lot of careers. But the rubber plate is flexible
- 22:47and it allows your foot to bend and still do the normal operate
- 22:51at the mechanical level that it did and the natural with the
- 22:54tendon. So I don't think it's going to
- 22:57be too much. And when did he have the
- 22:59surgery? Right after the season actually
- 23:03didn't play in the championship game speed he did he.
- 23:05Played in the semi final game against Notre Dame.
- 23:07Yes, they. Lost and the lost against Notre
- 23:09Dame and then right after the season it was he had the ankle
- 23:12surgery and they said they put screws in it.
- 23:14So I I don't know anything about it so.
- 23:17No, I got screws in mine too I when I had.
- 23:19Jabba did too, I think. Right Jabba did fractured my
- 23:22tibula at the and one of the preseason games versus the
- 23:26Giants. I think it was anyway, yeah, so
- 23:29I I don't think it'll be a issue at all.
- 23:33Like I said, we had three kind of few the first four games or
- 23:35whatever. He has time to heal and with
- 23:38advanced science and technology now, you know, surgeries ain't
- 23:41the same thing that they used to be.
- 23:43So you can hit a lot faster. So I believe you pretty much
- 23:47will be all right. It'd be interesting to see how
- 23:50he how he respond. But from a past rest of stance,
- 23:53it's all about rhythm and and being that he got the name, he
- 23:57kind of got the ball in his court and he could dance and and
- 24:00do what he need to do. He'd get him, get some sacks,
- 24:03and he'd be all right. He didn't have the surgery, by
- 24:06the way. Oh, he didn't.
- 24:08No, he opted not to. Naturally, he'll.
- 24:13I'm pretty sure he had the. Surgery.
- 24:16No, he forgot it and then went to participate in his pro day.
- 24:22Fish just posted it and then I just looked it up too.
- 24:25So he didn't get to surgery. So So what what did he actually
- 24:29like break, fracture anything or it was just more like a high
- 24:31ankle it. Was a stress fracture a.
- 24:33Stress fracture in his right foot and then he.
- 24:35Should have had the surgery. They they were thinking they had
- 24:38to. Stabilize it like you were
- 24:39saying. That's it.
- 24:41You have a stress. The only issue that I would have
- 24:43on that was that that MetLife is turf.
- 24:45So that and it's been known to take some, some, some some guys
- 24:51out so. What?
- 24:52What's your thoughts on the turf verse natural grass?
- 24:55Oh is is there's no competition at all natural gas all day.
- 24:59I I really don't understand why we went heavily on turf.
- 25:04Best grass I ever played on is in Green Bay and August
- 25:07September. It's unbelievable.
- 25:10And then second Rogers that game too.
- 25:12But like, yeah, so it's it's it's it's not it's UN unmatched.
- 25:18Turf is good for maintenance and you don't got to do a lot.
- 25:23And then, you know, from a business stance, I understand
- 25:27because you know, you can just throw some tart over it or
- 25:29whatever, host the a concert, then slap, pull the tart up,
- 25:33whatever spray to feel Now you got a football game the next
- 25:35day. So the convenience you, you
- 25:37know, ticket sales and all that other stuff.
- 25:39From a business stance, numbers wise, it makes sense.
- 25:42But that natural grass from a football player is unmatched.
- 25:48You know, it gives in a little bit, still sturdy enough when
- 25:51you plant, it's less maintenance on your joints.
- 25:54So I, I would, I would definitely go do grass hands
- 25:59down. I've never heard anybody really
- 26:02support turf. So what what are your thoughts
- 26:04of The Jets draft man Boo in the first round thought of maybe is
- 26:07the best offensive lineman, the biggest offensive lineman, Mason
- 26:09Taylor in the second round, who's Jason Taylor's son, wife.
- 26:12I don't I don't know if you cross paths.
- 26:13I know he's with The Jets for a little while, but what are your?
- 26:16Thoughts. He came back like once, once or
- 26:18twice, but I, I, I really kind of seen him in Miami when I was
- 26:21down there for the finishing up my contract.
- 26:25I think they, I think like we talked about earlier, I think
- 26:27they did good with regards to finding the pieces that they
- 26:31needed. But it's, you know, you got a
- 26:34long, you got an uphill battle in regards to, you know, with
- 26:37the run defense what a 2920 that was at the bottom of the pack.
- 26:40It's the odds for carry. On offense, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 26:44So it is going to be interesting to see how to do that, how they
- 26:51improve from been at the bottom of the pack to going further.
- 26:55And I know they got to kind of see where Justin that.
- 26:57So it's going to be a lot of passing to kind of get some data
- 27:01on him so that that that should be good or the kid that drafted
- 27:07was good, though. He's he's a stud.
- 27:10I like to pick and like I said, I like it from a roster move,
- 27:14but I don't know his scheme or whether or not that actually
- 27:18play out the way it's supposed to.
- 27:20It's. Not to tell with the scheme
- 27:21right now, they want to make it like a Lions type thing, but the
- 27:23Lions never had a mobile quarterback there.
- 27:25Even the backups for Jared Goff were not.
- 27:26Just correct types and those are like true quarterbacks versus
- 27:32Justin, who's an athletic QB. Yeah, so you.
- 27:35Expected a little modified from that, yeah.
- 27:38Yeah. So you can't compare Lamar to
- 27:40like, you know, Sam Donald or somebody like, you know, it's
- 27:44just totally different. So it's going to be interesting
- 27:47to see and I'm, I'm sure Justin is in here with like trying to
- 27:51be a, a pocket QB as well. Yeah.
- 27:56Do do you think too like as, as this draft like comes to an end
- 28:01and everybody's kind of fitting in and showing up And dude, like
- 28:04you coming in as a first round pick, and we've kind of touched
- 28:08on this before you as a rookie coming into a clubhouse locker
- 28:13room, whatever you want to call it.
- 28:14Like what was what was your thought process as as a young
- 28:18kid being a first round pick coming into the locker room and
- 28:22how you approached it? And you know, your mentality of,
- 28:26OK, I'm a young kid, there's vets, do I lean on them?
- 28:29You know, obviously there's standards held on me for being a
- 28:33first round pick. And what was your mentality
- 28:35coming into that? Because there's a lot of kids
- 28:37now coming into this profession now completely different than it
- 28:42is. You know, what was your
- 28:44mentality coming into it And as far as like in in rookie camp
- 28:47and then you know, OTAs and all the other stuff.
- 28:50Yeah, I I would just suggest that they find somebody that
- 28:54they can really bond with in regards to their draft class.
- 28:58For me it was a snatch, Damien Harrison.
- 29:01So me and him wrote it all the way out even to this day.
- 29:04But that's going to be key for the rookies.
- 29:07Certain locker rooms have bets that you can lean on but
- 29:13majority of the locker rooms you got that like quote UN quote
- 29:16earn your keeper whatever. Which is to me is insane that
- 29:20you're asking a 23 year old to come in now.
- 29:23That you're B25 coming? In and B25 coming in, but still
- 29:27even then like you, you talking about leading grown man who's
- 29:30been in the league 3 plus years, five years, eight years, it's
- 29:33hard. It's going to be hard to win the
- 29:35locker room overall, so the best thing you can do is kind of have
- 29:41somebody that you can, you know, go out with or have
- 29:46conversations with, side conversations with, build that
- 29:49relationship, you know, trying to build that brotherhood
- 29:52amongst them and then play ball on the field.
- 29:56It's going to be difficult for any record to lead it, which is
- 29:58really hard, especially when you got guys who wasn't drafted who
- 30:03don't really like first rounders.
- 30:05You know, because NFL really does a bad job or disservice to
- 30:11our rookies because there's no there's no like work on warming
- 30:17house warming party. Like there's no, you know, place
- 30:20where you kind of like feel welcome.
- 30:22It it immediately becomes a business.
- 30:25And so you go from college where it's like everybody's together.
- 30:29We riding the die. We're going to war together Sid
- 30:32to get an NFL and it's you do your 111.
- 30:36You got to take care of your family.
- 30:38I got to take care of my family. I don't really care if you mess
- 30:40up. I don't really care if you do
- 30:41it. You know what I mean?
- 30:42Like I only care if you mess up. We are in the field and we got
- 30:44to run out the practice because you don't know the playbook or
- 30:47whatever. But it's not like a genuine
- 30:49like, yo, I'm trying to help dial in out of my time there.
- 30:53It was only a couple guys that I seen really reached back and
- 30:57help the guys, which was Revis, Cromartie, Dave Harris fell in
- 31:04love with Demario Davis. And so he kind of like at first
- 31:09he was a little shaky, but then they kind of kind of grew
- 31:11together. And then Ed Reed came in and he
- 31:14was on the tail end of his career.
- 31:17So he really balled into like teaching the second day or
- 31:20whatever. And I kind of because I had a
- 31:21drop in the coverage and stuff like that.
- 31:23I used to stay some of that meetings and he kind of taught
- 31:25me some technique along with Revis.
- 31:27Revis taught me some stuff on on the field.
- 31:29So for the most part, you're not going to really find that type
- 31:34of, you know, unless it's like one of those guys who's on their
- 31:37way out may take you under their wing.
- 31:39But even if you look at the structure of how they did the
- 31:42draft, like from after the lockout, the old they they made
- 31:46the old guys hate the younger guys based off Jamarcus Russell
- 31:51situation. And so now we got to, we
- 31:55basically the owners fooled them and made them sign a contract
- 31:59where we got to prove ourselves for four years and then they can
- 32:02franchise us for two more years. So you get 6 years before you
- 32:06even have to pay me in the league that's averaged career is
- 32:102.933 years. Like as a as a player, you
- 32:15should have never signed that contract and you only use the
- 32:19Jamarcus Russell situation. But nobody talks about, hey, if
- 32:22I give a kid that's 2223 out of college 80 to $100 million with
- 32:28no support and just expect him to be a pro because I filled his
- 32:33bank account up with money. What do you think?
- 32:36Like you talk about somebody who has zero, they get eighty, $100
- 32:40million and it's like, hey, become a pro, be a pro, make
- 32:44responsible decisions at 2223 years old.
- 32:48OK, but cute. But let me ask you this, though.
- 32:51As the game has evolved, the game has changed.
- 32:53And I'll too, You got some of these cats coming in with two,
- 32:57three, $4 million out of college and they they're, they're happen
- 33:01to make these decisions. Do you think that plays a part
- 33:05into it where it's like, well, I already got bread in my pocket?
- 33:08Well, not yeah, you're going to see a drop off in the in the
- 33:11league and I think you and I think you already seen it in the
- 33:13NBAI think they said something from the stats or something.
- 33:17I ain't correctly accurate on it, but I think that NBA talent
- 33:24prospect, not talent prospects, but tryouts.
- 33:27Basically, the kids that tried out for the NBA dropped
- 33:31tremendously. It's not the NBA, it's the LJA,
- 33:34LeBron James Association, just so you.
- 33:37Know right so yeah, so I think it's gonna happen in the NFL too
- 33:41because the NFL gave us money and marketing.
- 33:46I got social media for marketing and I'm having an NRA deal and
- 33:51the and the and the cap constantly keeps going up right
- 33:55so you can do four to five years, say you have it you can
- 33:58play as a COVID year, whatever. You can do four to five years
- 34:02and make anywhere between 10 to $20 million.
- 34:06There's no need to go to the NFL because because think about it,
- 34:13even if you go to the NFL, what you got to do, you got to prove
- 34:15yourself for four years before they have to pay you that you
- 34:19have to if you get drafted right and then they get the two years
- 34:23of franchising you. That's I don't need to go and I
- 34:30can still make decent bottom tier NFL money over 4 years and
- 34:37the depending where I'm at. So if I'm in a Florida, Texas,
- 34:40no state taxes. Now you're talking about more
- 34:44income in my pocket. Hopefully invest that.
- 34:47I can't stand it. I, I don't, I don't know about
- 34:50that. I can't.
- 34:50Stand it why they made billions off of us I don't understand why
- 34:55we are mad at kids for doing it now when they have made we're
- 34:58behind. You know how many like you know
- 35:01how many careers of like legends that we could have witnessed,
- 35:07but because you couldn't come back home because you're a
- 35:11professional athlete, you couldn't come back and Take Me
- 35:13Out to eat and just have a. You, you can't now the kids.
- 35:16Are making it would have been NCAA violation.
- 35:18Dude arched. Or now NCAA violation that would
- 35:21have make you you. Basically it was a criminal
- 35:24based off society because you took improper benefits.
- 35:28They shame you on TV. They shame you in the press and
- 35:32you don't have a shot. It's not like there was a school
- 35:35outside of D2 or JUCO that was like, hey, you could come over
- 35:38here and we're still support you and treat you for your talent.
- 35:42Yeah, we, I mean, we would literally get told like if we
- 35:44went on the sideline or something, it's like you can't
- 35:46talk to them. Like you can't take a picture.
- 35:49You can't do this because then it's like you're coerting.
- 35:53Them imagine how many kids we have.
- 35:54So many stories of people who were super athletes and got
- 35:59caught up in at the wrong club or at a party and receiving some
- 36:03type of benefits. I mean they had us on chains.
- 36:06I was under investigation at North Carolina so I know first
- 36:09hand about it. So it's like now the ball is in
- 36:13the athletes court now. Now the only thing I hate about
- 36:16it now is that and I'm trying to work on something that actually
- 36:19helped this. But now that the NINIL is in
- 36:23place, there needs to be structure around it because it
- 36:27don't make sense now. Because you I can, I can give
- 36:29you 10 million and you're going to give it right back to me
- 36:33through, you know, every guy got his own jury guy.
- 36:35You know, if you go to the Diamond District, you would
- 36:38think that, you know, all these people are in competition with
- 36:40each other. They're the same family.
- 36:43You you think you buy to watch it and to get at this guy that's
- 36:47his cousin. It's just different names.
- 36:51It's watch key, Raphael and Cole.
- 36:53Like you got, you got all these different names, but it's the
- 36:56same people. They all are part of the same
- 36:59family. They all get the same and they
- 37:01trade amongst each other the whole time.
- 37:02It's a bunch. So it's like, yeah, but so.
- 37:05But now that the kids got it, it's like, hey, let's, let's,
- 37:09let's help the kids out and understanding how to actually
- 37:12properly manage this money. That's my only issue with it
- 37:15because the kids are going to get the money and I'm happy that
- 37:18they are getting the money. They're getting the money for
- 37:20the people. A lot of people who lost a lot
- 37:22of money, a lot of people who lost their career behind people
- 37:26wanting to support them and keep them afloat while they was in
- 37:28college. And so now that they got that
- 37:30opportunity, I just want them to take advantage of it and
- 37:33actually keep it and actually make something of it instead of
- 37:35just giving it back to them buying unnecessary stuff.
- 37:38I'm going to tell you this, I'm watching the Knicks and and
- 37:41watching this game. They are the Pistons are a rough
- 37:44team and they're brutally rough. I mean I.
- 37:48Just you're supposed to be, right?
- 37:49I yeah, but I, I've seen Karl Anthony Towns just had an elbow
- 37:53right in his chest and, and they didn't call, they didn't call a
- 37:56foul. I, we understand he's not the
- 37:58guy. It doesn't matter.
- 37:59The fact is, is that the the I understand they have home field
- 38:03advantage, homecourt advantage, but they're playing rough and,
- 38:06and, and to me, the Knicks are going to lose this game.
- 38:09I guarantee you the Knicks are going to lose this game.
- 38:11They messed up. They had a 10 point at one point
- 38:13at 1515 point lead. I just, I can't watch it before
- 38:17before we let you go queue because I know you're pretty
- 38:20busy. We have I have one more question
- 38:22for you. And and it's it's obviously and
- 38:25by the way, if anybody doesn't know, we are talking to former
- 38:27Jets first round draft pick Quinn Couples, defensive lineman
- 38:32four years in the NFL and had a pretty, you know, had a pretty
- 38:35good career. I mean, if you think he played
- 38:37for three different teams, he played for The Jets, the
- 38:40Dolphins and Rams. Speaking of a guy that really
- 38:43stood out in the draft is the one guy, ladies and gentlemen,
- 38:46that everybody was talking about as a first round draft pick
- 38:49falls to the fifth round. Your thoughts to the craziness
- 38:54of Shador Sanders? Where, where do we start?
- 38:58Well, take take note. OK, so first of all, I think
- 39:01that if you ever listen to anybody who actually played in
- 39:03football, play football in the NFL, we're all pretty much
- 39:08saying the same thing. OK, we want the best for the
- 39:12kid, but in regards to business and how he conducted himself
- 39:17throughout the process, it, it was a total disaster.
- 39:22I was not surprised shot the minute that Dion had his.
- 39:27His father, Deion Sanders, has said that he can only go to a
- 39:31certain market. I knew it was going to be over
- 39:33for him. The kid can play.
- 39:34He's not jumping off the board, but he's not the guy.
- 39:38Unless he changes, he's not going to survive in the NFL.
- 39:42He's going to be in this situation now.
- 39:44He has a golden opportunity now, which I think his PR team is
- 39:47trying to do. It being that he went to go see
- 39:49a high school kid, like the first day I'm getting down
- 39:51there. But he he's he's too flashy,
- 39:55he's too arrogant. And when I say arrogant, that's
- 39:59not to diminish his confidence. So there's a difference between
- 40:02confidence. There's a confidence on the
- 40:04field. Like I understand this game to a
- 40:06point where you can't do it. There's no doubt in my mind that
- 40:09Cam waters way more arrogant or confident than he is.
- 40:13But how did he approach the process?
- 40:17And I think that's the part that he is missing and.
- 40:20It's hard to be in his ear because his father is in his ear
- 40:24and his father is pretty much a OK and everything that happened.
- 40:29I think there was a very humbling lesson that was given.
- 40:34And the kid has an opportunity between now and camp to change
- 40:39the narrative. You can still be a superstar.
- 40:41You can still be a very confident young individual.
- 40:46But what he failed to realize is he made no money for the NFL
- 40:51like you, and he was talking as if and he had already did
- 40:55something in the NFL. He was behaving as if and he was
- 41:00already doing something. He had already made money for
- 41:03the NFL he was at. He didn't have no leverage.
- 41:07He has 0 leverage on the board. Like we can find 10 shooter
- 41:14Sanders. Like you're not giving us
- 41:17something like you're not giving us something that's eye
- 41:19dropping. We can't find 10 Abdul Carter's.
- 41:25It's impossible. You know, you can't find 10
- 41:29Travis Hunters. It's impossible.
- 41:31So we you're not you're not that guy, but you had the opportunity
- 41:35to be a first runner. You had the opportunity to be a
- 41:36second runner, but. He's a Gremlin, by the way.
- 41:39Travis Hunter is Gremlin, just so you know, he's going to be in
- 41:43the new movie Gremlins 3. So so you know he's going to
- 41:46have a starring role in that movie.
- 41:48He's definitely one of the ugliest.
- 41:50I just pray that he stay on the defensive.
- 41:53Side so do I so do I because offensively he loves to brag.
- 41:56By the way, I was at the Heisman Trophy dinner.
- 41:59The guy loves to brag about his he's a dual threat and
- 42:02everything like that. Why don't you just play one
- 42:04position? We all know that Dion came out
- 42:06and said that you are a corner, you are an all pro corner.
- 42:10So play the corner position and maybe if they fusion spots as an
- 42:13offensive wide receiver, maybe they sticky here and sticky
- 42:16there. There should no way, no way him
- 42:19playing to a double dose and I understand everybody says well,
- 42:23that's why he was a second pick in the first round.
- 42:25There's no way he should be playing two way bad football.
- 42:27I just don't think he's that type of player.
- 42:30It'll be a detriment to them. It's never, it has happened
- 42:32before, like somebody actually being able to successfully turn
- 42:35around and play on the other side of the ball.
- 42:37Like it's not, it's so it's not a it's not a thing.
- 42:40It's a it's not ability thing. And I think that's the thing
- 42:43that that needs to be separated. Like, hey, do you have the
- 42:45ability? Absolutely.
- 42:47Should you know, like you're not going to get on an NFL field and
- 42:51think that you're going to like your routes aren't like that NFL
- 42:56style routes. Like you're not capable of
- 42:58coming out of breaks and cuts and like you're not going to be
- 43:01able to fool a pro defensive back.
- 43:05And I think that people like, and I tell people like the PAC
- 43:0710 is respected. We we cool.
- 43:10So it's a powerful school or whatever, right?
- 43:13But it's ACC and SEC been running this thing forever.
- 43:17You know Big 10 been running this thing forever, same thing.
- 43:21We should do it, right? Should do it.
- 43:22Didn't beat nobody but what TCU they end up being under.
- 43:25TCU when they lost everybody after their championship.
- 43:27And then 500 that year, like you haven't done nothing versus
- 43:30somebody for you to hang your hat on.
- 43:32I heard Cam say this like you haven't done nothing and I was
- 43:35saying it, but he made it sound better like you haven't done
- 43:38anything to say. Hey, should do.
- 43:40Is the guy Travis? You went out there and think
- 43:44about this. Do you think Dion had any type
- 43:47of input in regards to making sure that they threw the ball,
- 43:49making sure that Travis was the one or two option A?
- 43:52100%. So do you think that the NFL
- 43:55coaches is going to go into a game plan room and say, hey,
- 43:58yeah, we're going to focus on getting Travis the ball?
- 44:01Like when I got a Tyreek Hill, when I got Justin Jefferson,
- 44:04Like when I have a pro receiver, I don't need to and it may not
- 44:08be to that caliber in regards to who's on the roster, but these
- 44:13they are that person in that room and that like in that
- 44:16locker room, we're not going to just sit out here and play pitch
- 44:20and catch with you because of your name.
- 44:22He's a all pro DBI think he has the ability to be able to break
- 44:26the bank as a defensive back and basically be the number one DB
- 44:32that we ever seen that he has the to actually do that that we
- 44:36been in the game. Well.
- 44:38We really appreciate it. It's a it's a passing league
- 44:41now, right, yes, You know, you and you talking about Dion and
- 44:44all the other greats that they they used to run the ball.
- 44:47You still got Barry runners in that league.
- 44:48You still got Emma Smith like you got some dolls in that
- 44:51league. That was running the ball,
- 44:52running the Rock Marshall fault. You know, different guys that
- 44:55was owning the league, running the ball.
- 44:56So you had to respect that. Now you're talking about a
- 44:59league. Now that's 7075% pass.
- 45:02Right. So your numbers can shoot sky
- 45:05sky up, you know, just that. That's why it was, that's why
- 45:09Shanti came out and was challenging Dion.
- 45:12But that's a necessary. But I'm just so you know, Travis
- 45:16Hunter is not going to be an all world corner.
- 45:20I I think everybody's out of their minds.
- 45:21I don't really think he's. You don't think he a corner?
- 45:23No, I don't think I think he's highly overrated.
- 45:26I, I really do. I, I think he's highly I, I
- 45:30would tell you more, but we, we definitely got to go.
- 45:33We could talk offline, but I, I will tell you this, Travis
- 45:37Hunter is one of the most overrated prospects I've ever
- 45:40seen come out of the NFL draft. And I think the Jaguars, they're
- 45:46the one organization that I know is going to make, they've always
- 45:49made mistakes and they're making a big mistake on this gremlin.
- 45:52This guy is going to absolutely hurt this team.
- 45:55I'm telling you, he's not a team player and he doesn't work very
- 45:58good with team with players. He's had a problem.
- 46:01And even when I met him at the Heisman Trophy, the guy was rude
- 46:05and and very disrespectful. So I and he has this woman tell
- 46:09him what's going on and what's not going on.
- 46:11OK, When you he is not taking charge, he's not a person is
- 46:16that is a leader. And you can see the difference
- 46:18in who he is as a person on and off the field.
- 46:20He's got ability. We all know his talents.
- 46:23I think he's highly overrated. I think he's highly overrated.
- 46:26Highly overrated. Highly overrated.
- 46:28I think you hear this. You have the producer.
- 46:31Opinion. Hear this, Hear this, Hear this,
- 46:34hear this. Seven years.
- 46:36He'll be out of the NFL. Travis Hunter, Seven years.
- 46:39On his own will or by. But nobody's going to.
- 46:42Nobody's going to want to deal with his crap.
- 46:44Nobody's going to deal with his seven years.
- 46:47This has to be the craziest take.
- 46:48Out seven years, seven years, he will be out of the NFL.
- 46:52Seven years, seven years, you will be out of the NFL.
- 46:55You can book it, buddy. Overrated.
- 46:59One of the most overrated defensive backs I've ever seen
- 47:02come out of the first round in the draft.
- 47:03He's not even the he was not even the best DB in this class.
- 47:08He was probably the third. He wasn't the best wide receiver
- 47:11in his class, probably the fourth.
- 47:13He is one of the most overrated Heisman Trophy winners we've
- 47:18ever seen. So.
- 47:19I don't think you should have wide Heisman, but Arrow, come
- 47:22on. Arrow, I'm telling you, watch.
- 47:24Remember I said this. You're going to come back to me
- 47:27and you're going to say that guy, that guy is a magician.
- 47:31How did he guess this was going? To happen.
- 47:33I'm going to come back and say, Arrow, I got you public
- 47:37apologies. I got listen, I'm telling you
- 47:40there is no way he lasts longer than 7-8 years in the NFL as a
- 47:44matter of fact. So think he's highly over.
- 47:47Already guaranteed for it. Oh my gosh.
- 47:49Yep, this is This is unexpected. I'm so shocked.
- 47:54Shocked what? He's not.
- 47:56He is not as good as you think he is.
- 47:58He really isn't. He's overrated.
- 48:01He's just overrated. I, I just, I've seen a lot of
- 48:03guys come out of the draft and we thought he was going to be
- 48:06good and, and falling off. He is just personality.
- 48:10It's his personality that doesn't matter.
- 48:13I think ability, no, it's personality.
- 48:15It's personality. It's going to hurt him.
- 48:16It's going. To hurt him, it's going to get
- 48:18him out of the. League.
- 48:19Oh yeah, absolutely. Nobody's going to want him.
- 48:20Nobody's going to want to deal with that crap in the locker.
- 48:23Room 10 interceptions. He's not getting, he's not
- 48:26getting 10 year receptions in the NFL.
- 48:29First of all, he's skinny as hell.
- 48:30He better put some size on him because the guy has the
- 48:33skinniest chicken legs I've ever seen as a DB.
- 48:36OK, 6 foot one. Yeah, I was stood right next to
- 48:39him. Stood right next to him, and
- 48:41he's got a tremendous. What happened?
- 48:46I know he was. I'm not very tall.
- 48:48I'm 510. The guy's 6162.
- 48:51But I the guy has no size whatsoever.
- 48:54You can squeeze him like a bug. I mean, seriously, he looks like
- 48:57a gremlin. I mean, where's the picture?
- 49:00Did you find that picture, Fish? You don't.
- 49:01Think you don't think they going to put no weight on?
- 49:03What happened? No, I, I just, I just think his
- 49:07his built is is is. I don't know if he's one.
- 49:10Of the skinny but he can still put like 5 lbs.
- 49:13How much? I got a 5 lbs.
- 49:15He's going to need a lot more than £5.
- 49:17He looks like 170 lbs. So good wet too.
- 49:20Crazy he would be. He don't need to be too crazy.
- 49:22I'm telling you, man, I'm telling you he's so overrated.
- 49:25You're going to see so I'm telling you, so overrated.
- 49:29One of the most. Overrated only says is based on
- 49:32personality. You have a.
- 49:33Good. No, no, no, no.
- 49:34I watched the play. Who watched him play?
- 49:36I I think who's. He been.
- 49:38Who? First of all, how many What?
- 49:40How many top and wide receivers did he play in the last two
- 49:43years? Not many.
- 49:44Who's he played against? Let him play against an NFL wide
- 49:47receiver that can run a good one.
- 49:50Like even a Devante Adams would beat him in the open field.
- 49:53I don't think he's going to be able to stop any of the fast and
- 49:56more talented guys Tyree kill in the open field.
- 49:59Is he going to be able to stop Tyree kill?
- 50:01I don't think so. How about Jalen Waddle?
- 50:03Is he going to be able to stop Waddle in the open, open field?
- 50:06I don't think so. I think he doesn't understand
- 50:08how much faster the NFL is from college football, and he's going
- 50:12to see. It nobody does it till you get
- 50:14out. There Exactly.
- 50:15And that's why I think everybody's overrating him.
- 50:18He is Ashton Genti. That means everybody is
- 50:21overrated. No, no, no, no no no.
- 50:22He is overrated because I've watched.
- 50:25Nobody else is playing. But here's the thing, Ashton,
- 50:28he's the prototypical running back.
- 50:30Ashton Genti is. He could catch the ball in the
- 50:32backfield. He could beat you North and
- 50:34South. He could beat East and West.
- 50:37From Alabama, came out with me. Who?
- 50:41Richardson. Richardson.
- 50:42Yes, Trent Richardson. There's a lot of difference
- 50:45between him and Richardson. Richardson.
- 50:47Couldn't catch numbers wise I'm talking about.
- 50:49I'm talking about catching the ball in the backfield and can do
- 50:52things and beat you on the outside.
- 50:54I Trent, that's the problem with Trent Richardson is he was more
- 50:59of a NS guy. He had one good year in the NFL
- 51:02then he got traded for what three first round draft picks
- 51:05was one of the biggest mistakes in NFL history And and again,
- 51:09Indianapolis probably regrets it.
- 51:11I'm sorry. Why was it a mistake?
- 51:13Because I just don't think he fit the NFL build.
- 51:16He didn't have a lot of speed. Trent Regency coming out of
- 51:18Alabama at the time. I didn't like him.
- 51:21I didn't like him. I didn't like him from Alabama.
- 51:23I didn't like Eddie Lacy either. Fat Eddie Lacy.
- 51:26I, I didn't. I didn't think he was going to
- 51:27last in the NFL either. Couldn't condition himself.
- 51:30Who's your Who's your prototype running back?
- 51:32Who's my prototypical running back in the NFL right now?
- 51:36Probably Kamar. What's his name again?
- 51:40Kamara. Kamara.
- 51:41Alvin Kamara. Alvin Kamara.
- 51:44Yeah, Alvin Kamara is my pretty typical running back who can
- 51:47catch the ball in the backfield and beat you in the inside, in
- 51:50the outside you. Like those type of guys.
- 51:52I like guys that are athletically gifted, guys that
- 51:54can beat you in so many different ways.
- 51:57I, I just don't again, I look at somebody like a guy like Hunter.
- 52:02I, I don't think he's a bonafide #1 corner and I, he, he's
- 52:06definitely on a bona fide #1 or #2 as a wide receiver.
- 52:10I, I think he's highly overrated.
- 52:12I just think because he's a dual threat, everybody says, Oh my
- 52:15God, like Shay Ohtani, oh, he's a good pitcher and he's I, I
- 52:19know we've never seen a guy get drafted as A2 dimensional type
- 52:22of player. So everybody loves him so.
- 52:24He's ADB. He's not a wide receiver.
- 52:25I, I agree with. I agree with you, yeah.
- 52:27He's a true DB. He's a waste of time if you go
- 52:31as a wide receiver. So I just yeah, this this, this
- 52:34is you blew my, you blew my hat off of this one.
- 52:38Wow. Seven years and seven years.
- 52:40OK. I just want to make sure I get
- 52:41this right. Seven years.
- 52:42He's done. He's done.
- 52:43He's overrated. Overrated.
- 52:46And you think he's a gremlin? I think he looks like a gremlin.
- 52:49Yeah. Look.
- 52:49Come on. Look at that face, man.
- 52:50Look at the gremlin right next to him.
- 52:52It's perfect. It's perfect.
- 52:54Look at that. No, it's not.
- 52:56He, he looks like a gremlin man. I, I, I'm telling you right now,
- 53:00you could take this take to the bank.
- 53:02We we document this you. You can document it, stamp it on
- 53:06your board that Errol said the guy's not going to last past
- 53:09seven years in the NFL. He's such an overrated player.
- 53:12I don't know, dude. I get killed on social media.
- 53:14But you want to know something? I've said a lot of crazy things
- 53:17that came true and I'm going to tell you this right now.
- 53:19I'm I'm telling you, he's a bona fide, he's a bona fide loser in
- 53:24the NFL. That's what he is.
- 53:25Bona fide loser. He's a Dodd.
- 53:28Bonifile and Jacksonville. Jackson, Oh, he's.
- 53:30Going to even he's going to fail.
- 53:32He is going to fail in Jacksonville, buddy.
- 53:35Fail in Jacksonville, everybody. Who's in that conference?
- 53:38Jacksonville. It's the Titans, Colts.
- 53:41Texans. Colts.
- 53:43Texans. Yeah.
- 53:44In a terrible division. In a terrible division, but the
- 53:47NFC. NFC South is terrible.
- 53:49Atlanta, Saints, Carolina, Tampa Bay.
- 53:53That's the I'm. Telling you, you watch Raj,
- 53:56remember? I said.
- 53:56Titans. The Titans is straight, they're
- 53:59good, and then you got Tetsons. Is they playoff team?
- 54:04I, I just, I don't like his attitude and I think players are
- 54:07not. Yeah, you don't like the guy
- 54:08personally, but that's what I'm saying.
- 54:10You can't compare that. I've I've watched his talent, I
- 54:13just think he's highly overrated.
- 54:14I just don't think he he fits all right.
- 54:18We got to go, buddy. But Quentin, keep that in mind.
- 54:21Keep keep that in mind. Keep.
- 54:22After my mind and and and and. And after the first year?
- 54:27After the first year. Four games and they got 2
- 54:29interceptions. I want to be.
- 54:31Quentin after the first year, first of all, he gets no
- 54:35interceptions. This year, None.
- 54:37First year, 0 interceptions, zip first one, first one, zip first
- 54:41one. Absolutely put it down.
- 54:45Put it down 0 immediately. Whatever.
- 54:49Zero. That's right. 0 Interception.
- 54:52Tell Arrow, just let me pop. Up I got you 0 interceptions you
- 54:57marked that one first year no interceptions in his first year
- 55:01Remember I said that yeah I'm. Documented.
- 55:04Documented, documented. And you could take that to the
- 55:07bank, buddy. Anyways, we love you Quint and.
- 55:10Love you guys too man. Absolutely.
- 55:13And we really appreciate the time as always and and keep up
- 55:16the good work my friend. You're doing some good.
- 55:18Things, man. Listen, man, you guys are
- 55:20killing it, man. Thank you, thank you.
- 55:23Talking bald, man. It's good talking to people who
- 55:25actually understand the game. Well, we really appreciate that.
- 55:27And you can take, just remember, Q's going to remember that
- 55:31Hunter is going to be a dud. That's all I'm going to.
- 55:33Say it's documented. The folks here, the people
- 55:35that's in here, they saw it. They don't pinned it in every
- 55:38week. Go.
- 55:38Listen when you get a when you go to Dunkin' Donuts.
- 55:41Listen, when you go to Dunkin' Donuts and you're ordering those
- 55:44little those Munchkins with Jelly Donuts, the Munchkins that
- 55:48have Jelly in it and you never get enough Jelly in it, that is
- 55:52that is Hunter right there. Travis Hunter is the Jelly that
- 55:56never fills the doughnut. That's what he is.
- 55:59All right, So I remember that he's he's the Krispy Kreme, the
- 56:03Boston cream, and he likes to play with himself too.
- 56:06I. Got this put on my calendar 1st
- 56:09I might watch. I'm going to watch more Jets in
- 56:11big games than however. Travis Hunter interception
- 56:15against The Jets confirmed. Oh boy, don't leave.
- 56:19Please don't let it be. Oh my gosh, I'm going to be so.
- 56:26Oh man. It's not happening.
- 56:28It's not happening. Don't worry, Quinton, thank you
- 56:30for joining us, bud. Oh God, thank you guys man,
- 56:33Thanks too. Quinton couples, ladies and
- 56:36gentlemen, I love Quinton and and we have a lot of fun with

- 56:47that's it for her show and analytics.
