- 0:01Speaker 1: The following feature has been rated R by the Motion

- 0:10Speaker 2: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 0:41Speaker 3: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown.
- 0:43Speaker 4: I am Brian.
- 0:43Speaker 5: I am Misty. I am Marlena.
- 0:44Speaker 6: And we are once again on the road.
- 0:48Speaker 7: On the road again.
- 0:50Speaker 6: I'm not going to sing anymore. Oh, we are on
- 1:10Speaker 6: I-65 heading towards Cincinnati.
- 1:12Speaker 5: No, we are on 71 heading towards Cincinnati. We have
- 1:14Speaker 5: 88 miles of Cincinnati. It's going to be a long trip.
- 1:20Speaker 6: 88 miles!
- 1:21Speaker 5: And I'm wearing my sunglasses.
- 1:24Speaker 6: So we are heading to Horror Hound Weekend. We will
- 1:28Speaker 6: record as we go along. Actually, I liked it last week.
- 1:31Speaker 6: I thought it was an interesting process, so I thought
- 1:34Speaker 6: we would... try to do a similar setup this week
- 1:37Speaker 6: and get it as we head up there and while
- 1:39Speaker 6: we're there just have the entire ongoing road trip be
- 1:43Speaker 6: the show itself so I.
- 1:45Speaker 8: Don't know I thought it was fun I don't know
- 1:47Speaker 8: I had my own road trip last weekend so I
- 1:49Speaker 8: wasn't part of yours so I don't know what you all.
- 1:51Speaker 6: Did we can get to yours then I guess we
- 1:55Speaker 6: can roll on into the geek week which I haven't
- 1:58Speaker 6: done too much other than piece together that last episode
- 2:01Speaker 6: I was trying to think of anything else I had
- 2:03Speaker 6: watched lately The only thing I was going to specifically
- 2:08Speaker 6: tell you guys about was, well, first let me read
- 2:11Speaker 6: you the description and see if you know what movie.
- 2:15Speaker 3: I'm talking about.
- 2:15Speaker 6: It's a glimpse into the teenage wasteland of suburbia that
- 2:20Speaker 6: takes place over 24 hours and teenagers who make their
- 2:23Speaker 6: way through the last day of high school in the
- 2:25Speaker 6: last year, blah, blah, blah.
- 2:27Speaker 5: Isn't Daisy confused?
- 2:29Speaker 6: Doesn't that sound exactly like Daisy confused?
- 2:33Speaker 5: I love Daisy. I watched.
- 2:36Speaker 6: I watched Remember the Days. Spelled with a Z.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Because they're from the streets?
- 2:41Speaker 6: Because they're from the streets.
- 2:42Speaker 5: Oh, God. I bet that didn't suck at all.
- 2:45Speaker 6: Here's what suckered me in, though, because I'm looking at
- 2:48Speaker 6: what was coming on next, and I was just like, oh,
- 2:50Speaker 6: what the hell is that? And then I looked at
- 2:52Speaker 6: the listing, and it's got Amber Heard.
- 2:55Speaker 5: Oh, hell yeah, I love me some Amber Heard.
- 2:56Speaker 6: So I was like, all right, maybe I'm going to
- 2:58Speaker 6: have to at least see what this is.
- 3:00Speaker 9: So....
- 3:02Speaker 5: So, it's great.
- 3:03Speaker 6: I love what you're saying.
- 3:04Speaker 7: It's so.
- 3:05Speaker 6: Like, and that's the thing. I didn't really pay that
- 3:07Speaker 6: much attention to it. Like, that part of it. Like,
- 3:09Speaker 6: I just started and it's her and she's like... They're all, like,
- 3:12Speaker 6: high school kids. So, it's her getting up in the morning. She's, like,
- 3:14Speaker 6: picking everybody up and driving around and everybody going to school.
- 3:17Speaker 6: And it's about 20 minutes or so into it when
- 3:21Speaker 6: they're like, hey, where are you going? Oh, we're going
- 3:23Speaker 6: to a party later. And, like, all of a sudden,
- 3:25Speaker 6: I'm just like, oh, my God. This is straight up, like,
- 3:29Speaker 6: wannabe Dazed and Confused.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Like.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Their big thing is.
- 3:33Speaker 8: Was Ben Affleck hanging around beating people with paddles?
- 3:36Speaker 5: Because then it'd be totally like the same.
- 3:38Speaker 6: They're kind of... They have their version of that, too.
- 3:40Speaker 6: Because I was thinking.
- 3:41Speaker 5: God, I hate Ben Affleck.
- 3:43Speaker 6: But he's awesome in that. So, yeah, he's... The difference
- 3:49Speaker 6: in this one is that it's the last day, you know...
- 3:52Speaker 6: It's the end of a millennium. This takes place not
- 3:55Speaker 6: in 1960-whatever-the-hell-it-was, but it's 1999.
- 3:57Speaker 3: Woo!
- 3:57Speaker 6: That's the same.
- 4:00Speaker 5: Year I graduated.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Woo!
- 4:01Speaker 6: Party.
- 4:02Speaker 5: It's a forever party.
- 4:03Speaker 6: You're one of these partying kids, I guess.
- 4:05Speaker 8: The only parties I went to involved me babysitting my
- 4:09Speaker 8: friend and throw up on her chicken nuggets.
- 4:10Speaker 5: And eat them again.
- 4:13Speaker 6: That's not a good party at all. So this was
- 4:16Speaker 6: the other thing, and another reason it seems so similar
- 4:19Speaker 6: to Dazed and Confused as we get into the ensemble
- 4:22Speaker 6: cast here. So I'm sitting there, and I'm watching, and
- 4:25Speaker 6: I'm like, okay, well, at least Amber Heard's cute. Whatever.
- 4:28Speaker 6: So then it continues on, and I'm just like, okay,
- 4:30Speaker 6: isn't that... Isn't that... Wait, isn't that... So it's basically
- 4:35Speaker 6: the whole damn cast of Mandy Lane.
- 4:38Speaker 5: Oh, I love Mandy Lane.
- 4:38Speaker 6: That's why I didn't watch that movie.
- 4:40Speaker 3: The.
- 4:41Speaker 6: The Obsessed Kid, the other main character, more or less,
- 4:44Speaker 6: in Mandy Lane, he's like a drummer in the band
- 4:47Speaker 6: that's playing that night. He's the first one I was
- 4:49Speaker 6: kind of like, isn't that the other guy from Mandy Lane?
- 4:51Speaker 5: Ooh, did it have my boyfriend that I love?
- 4:53Speaker 8: What was his name? Luke Grimes, who played the sleazy
- 4:55Speaker 8: guy that I love? Oh my god, he was so.
- 4:57Speaker 5: Hot in the trash.
- 4:57Speaker 6: The slutty bastard.
- 4:58Speaker 5: Oh my god, yes, he was hot.
- 5:00Speaker 6: No, he was the one that wasn't there. It had
- 5:03Speaker 6: the Obsessed Kid, and then it had the rich jackass thing.
- 5:07Speaker 6: What's his name? Aaron Hammerstein. The kid whose dad owned
- 5:10Speaker 6: the house, the one with the curly hair. Yeah, he
- 5:12Speaker 6: had him too. But he was delivering lines that were
- 5:15Speaker 6: almost the same thing. It was him giving this line
- 5:19Speaker 6: to a chick that was kind of the same. I
- 5:20Speaker 6: was like, really? I was like, did this lady hook
- 5:23Speaker 6: up with the guy making Mandy Lane and he just
- 5:26Speaker 6: decided to split cast and script on certain pages? I
- 5:29Speaker 6: don't know. That was weird. But then it kept going through,
- 5:32Speaker 6: and it was like, it was a whole big old
- 5:34Speaker 6: movie of, oh, it's that guy.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Oh, it's that.
- 5:37Speaker 6: So you've got, let's see, here's the rundown. You've got
- 5:39Speaker 6: the cancer guy from Fanboys, the goofy Chris Marquette, I think.
- 5:44Speaker 6: But then I'm looking at the other guy, and I
- 5:45Speaker 6: knew the other guy, too. Then I found out the
- 5:48Speaker 6: other guy is the guy from the movie High School
- 5:50Speaker 6: that I just watched. It's actually awesome. I would say
- 5:53Speaker 6: go find that one and skip this one. But his
- 5:55Speaker 6: name is Sean Marquette. It's his brother. The fanboys guy.
- 5:59Speaker 6: They're actually brothers. In this movie, plain brothers. And then,
- 6:04Speaker 6: let's see, what else? The other one, funny one. Wesley Jonathan,
- 6:08Speaker 6: which I don't know if I've ever referred to him
- 6:10Speaker 6: by his actual name, but I thought I would just
- 6:12Speaker 6: to be somewhat nice. Because to me, he's like, he's
- 6:15Speaker 6: always been, oh, look, it's Amanda's friend. The guy from what? Amanda, Amanda.
- 6:20Speaker 6: The guy from What I Like About You, our friend
- 6:23Speaker 6: from every episode.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Gary?
- 6:25Speaker 6: It's him, yeah.
- 6:26Speaker 5: Aw, Gary.
- 6:27Speaker 6: I was like, I don't think I knew him as
- 6:28Speaker 6: anything but Gary. It's like, I don't think his name
- 6:30Speaker 6: was Wesley, but that's kind of funny. That was his name,
- 6:34Speaker 6: wasn't it, Gary? I didn't just make that up. I
- 6:36Speaker 6: believe it is Gary, actually. So, let's see, what else?
- 6:39Speaker 6: We've got Alexa Vega, who is kind of recognizable.
- 6:44Speaker 5: She kicked ass in Repo at United Government.
- 6:45Speaker 6: I just, yeah, I kept looking, going... Is that... Lava Girl?
- 6:48Speaker 6: It kind of looks like Lava Girl.
- 6:50Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 6:51Speaker 6: But, yeah, I finally was like, yeah, let me double-check. But, yeah,
- 6:53Speaker 6: Alexa Vega's in it. And the only other semi-recognizable one,
- 6:57Speaker 6: and this was one I kind of had to figure out,
- 7:00Speaker 6: it's got the girlfriend from Kick-Ass, Lindsay Forska. She's, yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 6: the girlfriend.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Why are you just making words up?
- 7:10Speaker 6: I don't make these people's names. So, yeah, I don't know.
- 7:14Speaker 3: That.
- 7:16Speaker 6: Cast is, I guess, half the reason that I finished
- 7:18Speaker 6: sitting there watching it. I was just, like, the entire
- 7:21Speaker 6: time trying to figure out, oh, okay, look at that,
- 7:23Speaker 6: I'll be dead. Other than that, yeah, I mean, it
- 7:27Speaker 6: is just so wannabe Dazed and Confused, except... None of the, like,
- 7:32Speaker 6: clever dialogue. You don't get any of those.
- 7:35Speaker 5: No Matthew McConaughey.
- 7:36Speaker 6: No Matthew McConaughey. No Ben Affleck. You know, none of
- 7:38Speaker 6: those classic performances that kind of, you know, when these
- 7:41Speaker 6: were up-and-coming stars. And that's kind of what this felt like.
- 7:44Speaker 6: It's like you're taking all these people that are kind
- 7:46Speaker 6: of at that same point where it's like some of
- 7:48Speaker 6: these people could actually be big stars in a few years, but... Yeah,
- 7:52Speaker 6: not in this movie.
- 7:53Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 7:53Speaker 6: I just didn't get much out of this movie at all.
- 7:57Speaker 6: Everything felt so forced and so ripped off from that story.
- 8:01Speaker 6: And there's one scene that even kind of felt like
- 8:03Speaker 6: they were ripping off Outsiders. Oh, I love that movie too. Yeah,
- 8:06Speaker 6: but not in this. I was just like, yeah, there's
- 8:10Speaker 6: just no originality at all in this movie. The closest thing,
- 8:14Speaker 6: there's Amber Heard's younger sister is like, Just a horrible bitch.
- 8:19Speaker 6: She's kind of funny. Like, she doesn't come out of
- 8:21Speaker 6: her room. She, like, just yells at people, including her parents,
- 8:25Speaker 6: anytime they get anywhere near her.
- 8:26Speaker 5: So she's mean?
- 8:27Speaker 6: Yeah, kind of. She just, like, she spends the whole movie, like,
- 8:31Speaker 6: flipping off Amber and yelling at her and, you know,
- 8:33Speaker 6: just cursing constantly. And I kind of like that character.
- 8:36Speaker 5: So they followed me around for days and didn't tell me.
- 8:38Speaker 6: Yeah, they wouldn't have to follow much. She pretty much
- 8:40Speaker 6: stays in her bedroom the entire movie, basically. Yeah, that
- 8:44Speaker 6: was kind of entertaining. She was about the only character
- 8:46Speaker 6: that was like, okay, you need to transplant this character
- 8:49Speaker 6: into a better movie. Because most of the other guys
- 8:51Speaker 6: are just like, I don't really care about you kids,
- 8:53Speaker 6: so let's find a better movie to watch. Yeah, remember
- 8:58Speaker 6: the days.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Or not.
- 9:01Speaker 6: Or forget about that movie. Again, the cast, interesting. Not
- 9:06Speaker 6: the movie so much, but.
- 9:08Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 9:09Speaker 6: Other than that, and, um... piecing stuff together for this
- 9:13Speaker 6: week and last week's episode. That's pretty much all I did.
- 9:16Speaker 6: But yeah, otherwise that was about it for me. So
- 9:18Speaker 6: who wants to roll next?
- 9:19Speaker 5: Should I start with my road trip or should I
- 9:21Speaker 5: do the movies I watched? However you want to do it.
- 9:24Speaker 8: I watched a couple of movies. All of them kind
- 9:26Speaker 8: of sucked. Boyfriend decided I needed to watch Puppet Master.
- 9:32Speaker 8: That was long and fucking stupid. They're fucking puppets for
- 9:35Speaker 8: God's sakes. How are you getting fucking killed by a puppet?
- 9:37Speaker 8: You fucking kick the damn thing.
- 9:38Speaker 6: It's gone.
- 9:39Speaker 8: Ta-da. But yeah, that was stupid. I didn't like that movie.
- 9:43Speaker 8: He made me watch last night. Made me watch In
- 9:46Speaker 8: the Mouth of Madness.
- 9:47Speaker 5: Interesting. Fucking hell. The movie went on for days.
- 9:52Speaker 8: And I was playing the hey, it's that guy game
- 9:55Speaker 8: along with that one too. There was that one guy
- 9:56Speaker 8: who was Lex Luthor's dad from Smallville. And then there
- 9:59Speaker 8: was that one person who was uh I fucking hit
- 10:03Speaker 8: uh um the Carpathian in it um I don't know
- 10:08Speaker 8: the guy from Ghostbusters 2 Viggo the Carpathian.
- 10:11Speaker 6: I love it. The guy in the painting.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:14Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 10:14Speaker 8: And then it had somebody else. I was like, oh yeah,
- 10:17Speaker 8: that's that person. But now I can't remember who the
- 10:18Speaker 8: hell it was. It's not really that important, I guess.
- 10:21Speaker 8: But then it had the paper boy. It was Hayden Christensen.
- 10:25Speaker 8: That was pretty exciting. But yeah, I fucking hated that movie.
- 10:27Speaker 5: It was stupid.
- 10:29Speaker 8: Way too long. It thought it was smarter than it was.
- 10:32Speaker 8: I just wanted to kick it. I wanted to punch
- 10:34Speaker 8: it in the face. If that movie had a face,
- 10:35Speaker 8: I would punch.
- 10:36Speaker 5: It in the face.
- 10:37Speaker 8: And then laugh at it for its misery. I don't know.
- 10:40Speaker 8: I never made Boyfriend watch Frozen. Fucking hated that movie.
- 10:46Speaker 6: I've heard so many good things about it.
- 10:48Speaker 5: No, you're not going to hear them from me because
- 10:50Speaker 5: that movie was fucking stupid.
- 10:52Speaker 8: A bunch of fucking retards and oh I hated that
- 10:55Speaker 8: movie god they weren't really retarded they were just stupid
- 10:57Speaker 8: I'm sorry if I'm in the retard.
- 10:59Speaker 6: Community up there.
- 11:02Speaker 8: Oh god special whatever.
- 11:07Speaker 9: I hated that we should call the show adventures in
- 11:09Speaker 9: political correctness I'm gonna.
- 11:11Speaker 6: Fail every week I'm.
- 11:13Speaker 8: Gonna fail at that yeah that movie was just kids
- 11:16Speaker 8: are just stupid and it's like what'd.
- 11:19Speaker 5: You get for going skiing you damn jockeys That's from Squidbit. Like,
- 11:24Speaker 5: he probably wouldn't get that one.
- 11:26Speaker 10: Oh, God.
- 11:27Speaker 5: I'm gonna get so much hate now. I think it
- 11:29Speaker 5: was not good. Didn't like it. They deserve to get
- 11:32Speaker 5: eaten by wolves. Only two of them did. I don't
- 11:35Speaker 5: deserve it, though.
- 11:36Speaker 6: I don't like her.
- 11:37Speaker 3: But, uh.
- 11:38Speaker 5: I was just mad because I figured Iceman is okay.
- 11:41Speaker 5: He should have been in his element, but no.
- 11:44Speaker 6: I guess not.
- 11:45Speaker 5: He's Iceman. He wasn't a fucking X-Men. He should have
- 11:48Speaker 5: some powers. He could do something.
- 11:49Speaker 3: But no.
- 11:49Speaker 8: He just freezes his ass to death. Gets eaten by wolves.
- 11:52Speaker 8: He's not cool.
- 11:54Speaker 6: I can't remember. The director might be up here. I
- 11:56Speaker 6: think he's the same guy that did Hatchet 2. I
- 11:59Speaker 6: think it's Adam Green.
- 12:00Speaker 5: I like Hatchet. Hatchet kicked ass. I can talk about that.
- 12:03Speaker 5: That movie was awesome. I love the hell out of
- 12:05Speaker 5: that movie.
- 12:06Speaker 3: But it was great.
- 12:07Speaker 8: But then we went to Memphis, so I watched more
- 12:09Speaker 8: of my share of Elvis movies. I don't even remember
- 12:11Speaker 8: which ones they were. Kissing Cousins was in there, so
- 12:13Speaker 8: I watched that one, and Spitting Speedway, and I don't know,
- 12:18Speaker 8: a whole bunch of Elvis movies.
- 12:19Speaker 5: We went to Graceland and all that stuff, because I'm
- 12:21Speaker 5: a big geek, and let me smell this. Went to
- 12:23Speaker 5: Beale Street.
- 12:23Speaker 8: We almost lost my mom, because she got grabbed by
- 12:25Speaker 8: some black guy who was going to keep her, because
- 12:27Speaker 8: he loved her, and she was a pretty girl, and
- 12:28Speaker 8: he was going to keep her, and we just.
- 12:29Speaker 5: Kept walking, because I figured you can't save them all.
- 12:31Speaker 9: So I figured.
- 12:32Speaker 5: You know, you just keep walking. You cut your losses
- 12:35Speaker 5: because if we all stop, he's going to get all
- 12:37Speaker 5: of us.
- 12:41Speaker 9: Did she escape?
- 12:41Speaker 11: She eventually found her way back to us. I figured
- 12:44Speaker 11: I'm doing you a favor. If we keep walking, you've
- 12:46Speaker 11: got to catch up. I'm giving you a reason to leave.
- 12:49Speaker 11: If not, then there's more room in the car on
- 12:51Speaker 11: the way home.
- 12:52Speaker 6: You sacrificed your mom.
- 12:54Speaker 3: You can't.
- 12:55Speaker 5: You've got to know when you're best beaten, dude. You
- 12:58Speaker 5: just keep going.
- 13:00Speaker 8: And then, uh, we almost did die because there was
- 13:02Speaker 8: the guy outside of our hotel room sharpening his machetes.
- 13:05Speaker 5: Three of them. Three machetes.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Why? I don't know.
- 13:08Speaker 5: Did he juggle them?
- 13:09Speaker 6: I have no idea.
- 13:10Speaker 8: I never saw him juggle them. That would have been
- 13:11Speaker 8: awesome before we died. But, yeah, three, the guy sharpening
- 13:14Speaker 8: his machetes outside of our hotel room.
- 13:16Speaker 5: How did that even go? I don't know. It was frightening.
- 13:18Speaker 5: I'm just like, uh.
- 13:19Speaker 9: I thought it's illegal to carry, like, a weapon longer than, like,
- 13:23Speaker 9: your thumb or something like that or. like three inches
- 13:25Speaker 9: or whatever.
- 13:25Speaker 8: Those two would have been screwed because this was three
- 13:27Speaker 8: fucking big old machetes, you know, all kinds of fucking
- 13:30Speaker 8: Danny Trejo machetes.
- 13:31Speaker 9: I was going to say, was it Danny Trejo?
- 13:33Speaker 5: No, because that would have been awesome.
- 13:34Speaker 6: I was going to say, I don't think that law
- 13:36Speaker 6: applies if you're on your way to see Danny Trejo
- 13:38Speaker 6: because we saw several last week as they were hanging
- 13:41Speaker 6: out in line with their machetes.
- 13:43Speaker 8: Yeah, this was no, yeah, we were going to die.
- 13:47Speaker 8: It's kind of given when you're going to Memphis. You
- 13:50Speaker 8: expect to lose at least one person, you know.
- 13:53Speaker 5: But, yeah, we all made it back. All was good,
- 13:55Speaker 5: you know. Yay for Memphis.
- 13:57Speaker 9: Probably wasn't as scary as that time we went to Akron, though.
- 13:59Speaker 9: That was really scary.
- 14:00Speaker 5: Oh, the hotel with the barred windows and the phone call?
- 14:03Speaker 9: Yeah, the phone call in the middle of the night.
- 14:05Speaker 9: You ladies need some company?
- 14:07Speaker 5: Did you all order a male escort? Yeah, for real.
- 14:11Speaker 5: Which was really.
- 14:11Speaker 9: Scary because it meant that, you know, someone knew that
- 14:14Speaker 9: we were in there.
- 14:16Speaker 6: And you were needing a man.
- 14:18Speaker 9: It was probably, like, the creepy gang of, like, what
- 14:21Speaker 9: are Mexican gangsters called?
- 14:23Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 14:23Speaker 9: Cholos.
- 14:24Speaker 3: Cholos.
- 14:25Speaker 6: Cholos.
- 14:26Speaker 9: It's probably the very dangerous looking gang of cholos hanging
- 14:30Speaker 9: out across the parking lot. I hope that's not an
- 14:33Speaker 9: offensive term. Find out if that's a racist thing and
- 14:36Speaker 9: if it is, delete that.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Dude, really?
- 14:39Speaker 5: We're worried about offending people? I don't want to get
- 14:41Speaker 5: attacked by no cholos. Oh, there you go.
- 14:46Speaker 8: They weren't sharpening their machetes. They were just offering me
- 14:49Speaker 8: some companionship. And the mysteriously stained chair that was in
- 14:52Speaker 8: the corner.
- 14:53Speaker 5: And the toilet that.
- 14:54Speaker 8: Jessica was afraid to go to the bathroom on because
- 14:56Speaker 8: she thought someone would crawl out and eat her ass.
- 14:57Speaker 9: I mean, I stayed in a much worse hotel in
- 15:00Speaker 9: Chicago once. It was called the Cloud Nine. Don't ever
- 15:03Speaker 9: stay there.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 15:06Speaker 9: Our side tables had been stolen. And some guy knocked
- 15:10Speaker 9: on the door in the middle of the night because
- 15:12Speaker 9: he'd left.
- 15:12Speaker 5: His jacket in the room.
- 15:13Speaker 9: Like, what kind of housekeeping? Like, what the fuck? It
- 15:17Speaker 9: was weird. Oh, and there was bloodstains on the curtain
- 15:19Speaker 9: in the bathroom.
- 15:22Speaker 6: This all seems normal.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Very weird.
- 15:24Speaker 5: Alright, that's my weekend. I'm done.
- 15:27Speaker 9: Oh, let's see. What did I do? What did I do?
- 15:29Speaker 9: I've been on a watching documentary kick lately. And I
- 15:33Speaker 9: watched The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia. I
- 15:35Speaker 9: love saying that. I love alliteration. It makes me really happy.
- 15:39Speaker 6: You should work for a comic book company.
- 15:41Speaker 5: I know.
- 15:43Speaker 9: I also watched Jesus Camp. which is hilarious. I meant
- 15:48Speaker 9: to watch it when it was playing at a university
- 15:52Speaker 9: when it first came out, and I meant to go
- 15:54Speaker 9: see it, and I didn't. But it's on Netflix if
- 15:56Speaker 9: anyone wants to watch it. It's awesome. My gym normally
- 15:59Speaker 9: plays really stupid movies, but this week they played Whip It,
- 16:03Speaker 9: which I'd never seen.
- 16:04Speaker 6: I liked Whip It.
- 16:04Speaker 9: And I really liked it. It was a really good movie.
- 16:07Speaker 6: It was better than I expected. It's not amazing, but
- 16:09Speaker 6: it's better than I expected.
- 16:11Speaker 9: Yeah, it's one of those movies that you just get
- 16:14Speaker 9: really into and you don't pay attention to how long
- 16:16Speaker 9: you've been running, which is nice. But then I also
- 16:19Speaker 9: was subjected to The Karate Kid.
- 16:23Speaker 5: The remake?
- 16:24Speaker 9: The remake. And Van Helsing 5 or whatever.
- 16:29Speaker 5: What?
- 16:30Speaker 6: I didn't know they were up to 5.
- 16:32Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 16:33Speaker 9: It wasn't the first Van Helsing, but it was one
- 16:35Speaker 9: of the Van Helsings and it was awful. But those
- 16:39Speaker 9: are movies that make you want to run really fast
- 16:41Speaker 9: just so you can be done and then leave.
- 16:43Speaker 5: Are you trying to escape the movie?
- 16:44Speaker 12: Yes.
- 16:45Speaker 9: That's how I feel. You know, it's kind of a
- 16:47Speaker 9: good thing. Like, once they were playing, like, a Jean-Claude
- 16:49Speaker 9: Van Damme movie for some reason, I'm like, oh, God,
- 16:51Speaker 9: run fast so I can leave. Run fast so I
- 16:54Speaker 9: can leave.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:56Speaker 6: Not Jean-Claude.
- 16:57Speaker 9: Sorry, sorry.
- 16:58Speaker 5: Not Jean-Claude. Sorry, Metal Mikey. No Steven Seagal.
- 17:01Speaker 9: Is it Metal Mikey, the one that's like a huge
- 17:04Speaker 9: JCVD fan?
- 17:04Speaker 1: Probably.
- 17:05Speaker 7: Yeah, okay.
- 17:06Speaker 5: I like JCVD. He's still pretty hot for an L.A.
- 17:09Speaker 8: Dude.
- 17:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:10Speaker 6: You can tell him sorry later. I'm assuming he'll be
- 17:11Speaker 6: here today.
- 17:13Speaker 9: But, yeah, that was pretty much what I did. Those movies.
- 17:21Speaker 9: I'm sure I watched other things that I blocked out,
- 17:24Speaker 9: and I do that.
- 17:26Speaker 13: Oh, oh.
- 17:27Speaker 9: This week's episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia was hilarious.
- 17:33Speaker 5: Hilarious.
- 17:34Speaker 9: It was about juggalos and blackface. It was amazing.
- 17:38Speaker 6: That's classy.
- 17:39Speaker 9: It was so classy.
- 17:40Speaker 5: I watched the Halloween episode of Community and that was
- 17:43Speaker 5: fucking hilarious, dude.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Oh my god.
- 17:46Speaker 6: I still need to go back and watch that. I'm
- 17:47Speaker 6: assuming it's on the interweb somewhere.
- 17:49Speaker 5: Is it on Hulu.com?
- 17:50Speaker 6: There you go. All right. So does that cover all
- 17:54Speaker 6: of our weeks?
- 17:55Speaker 9: And I think that's it.
- 17:56Speaker 12: Yep.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Yep.
- 17:58Speaker 14: I don't know.
- 17:59Speaker 6: Anything else we want to say in anticipation of the
- 18:03Speaker 6: Big Horror Hound weekend?
- 18:05Speaker 5: Damn you, Danielle Harris.
- 18:08Speaker 6: That's uncalled for.
- 18:09Speaker 9: I just don't want to. It's so expensive.
- 18:12Speaker 5: I just don't want to watch that fucking movie.
- 18:15Speaker 8: Huh?
- 18:16Speaker 5: I just don't want to watch that fucking movie. Fuck
- 18:20Speaker 5: When Harry Met Sally. Fuck that movie. Fuck everybody in
- 18:25Speaker 5: that movie. I hate that movie. It downgrades women because
- 18:30Speaker 5: it becomes what chick flicks are and everybody looks down
- 18:33Speaker 5: on chick flicks because they're stupid because they are stupid.
- 18:35Speaker 5: And it makes.
- 18:37Speaker 8: Women seem stupider for like them. Fuck chick flicks. Fuck
- 18:41Speaker 8: When Harry Met Sally. Fuck Sleepless in Seattle. Fuck anything
- 18:46Speaker 8: that has Meg Ryan in it because she sucks. And
- 18:50Speaker 8: her face is horrible, and it has a Joker smile.
- 18:54Speaker 5: I hate her face.
- 18:55Speaker 9: I was going to say, I really like Cecil B. DeMinted,
- 18:57Speaker 9: but that's Melanie Griffith.
- 18:58Speaker 5: She's almost as bad.
- 19:00Speaker 9: Yeah, I know, but Cecil B. DeMinted is fucking awesome.
- 19:03Speaker 6: It is awesome.
- 19:04Speaker 5: It wouldn't be awesome if it had Meg.
- 19:06Speaker 6: Ryan in it, though.
- 19:08Speaker 9: Probably not.
- 19:10Speaker 15: Well, I.
- 19:11Speaker 6: Save my thoughts on it. I actually had a very
- 19:14Speaker 6: different response than I expected.
- 19:15Speaker 8: I probably shouldn't be in the room when you talk
- 19:17Speaker 8: to her about this. Bad things will happen, and I'll
- 19:19Speaker 8: hurt her feelings. She's a tiny little girl, and she's tough,
- 19:22Speaker 8: but I could probably.
- 19:23Speaker 6: Still take her. We'll see. She's a scrapper.
- 19:26Speaker 8: She'd probably just cling on like a damn spider monkey
- 19:29Speaker 8: or something.
- 19:29Speaker 5: I wouldn't be able to shake her. She seems like
- 19:32Speaker 5: a hair puller, and I'm not done with it.
- 19:34Speaker 9: You have a lot of hair.
- 19:35Speaker 8: I know, and it's nice and straight right now, and
- 19:37Speaker 8: I want it to stay that way. I should probably
- 19:38Speaker 8: grab it and... Pull out chunks and that would be
- 19:41Speaker 8: all crooked.
- 19:43Speaker 6: Let's not find out. You kids just get along now.
- 19:46Speaker 6: Don't make me turn this road trip right around.
- 19:48Speaker 5: I'm the one driving.
- 19:49Speaker 9: It.
- 19:49Speaker 6: Turn this car right around.
- 19:52Speaker 4: I'm hungry.
- 19:53Speaker 5: Do we need to stop at a gas station?
- 19:55Speaker 9: Yeah, eventually. When my gas thingy starts blinking.
- 19:59Speaker 15: We can stop.
- 19:59Speaker 5: We're going to stop before it starts blinking.
- 20:02Speaker 9: Well, I mean, you'll still have like 50 miles or so.
- 20:10Speaker 3: All right.
- 20:12Speaker 6: We will check back in with you somewhere further down
- 20:14Speaker 6: the road.
- 20:17Speaker 16: On that crazy Kings Highway.
- 20:24Speaker 14: Too much passion Too.
- 20:29Speaker 7: Much play We.
- 20:32Speaker 17: Went dancing, dancing, dancing across the U.S.A.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Time out for a delicious snack in our sparkling refreshment building.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Every item a fresh, appetizing taste treat. Fresh popcorn, delicious
- 20:50Speaker 1: and crisp, with or without butter. French fries, crisp and
- 20:55Speaker 1: golden brown. First quenching, refreshing ice cold drinks.
- 21:15Speaker 6: All right, we're here with Dean Cameron. Let's see, you,
- 21:18Speaker 6: I guess, just get into the basics here. I mean,
- 21:21Speaker 6: you're a kid growing up in Illinois. Were you really
- 21:24Speaker 6: into movies at that point, that early on?
- 21:26Speaker 18: Well, actually, I grew up in Oklahoma.
- 21:28Speaker 6: I was born in Illinois. Okay.
- 21:30Speaker 18: Yeah, I loved movies, and I had my friends. I
- 21:35Speaker 18: visited my father in Santa Barbara every summer. And I
- 21:39Speaker 18: would do theater with my friends. I did a great
- 21:42Speaker 18: theater program. And they were going down to L.A. doing
- 21:45Speaker 18: commercials and TV shows. So I knew I wanted to
- 21:49Speaker 18: be an actor when I was a kid. So I
- 21:51Speaker 18: definitely loved going to movies. Young Frankenstein was my favorite.
- 21:56Speaker 18: And Poseidon Adventure. Those were my two favorite movies when I.
- 21:59Speaker 3: Was a kid.
- 21:59Speaker 7: Wow.
- 22:00Speaker 6: Okay, it wasn't just me. I had a weird obsession
- 22:02Speaker 6: with Poseidon Adventure.
- 22:03Speaker 18: I can't explain it I saw it it was the
- 22:05Speaker 18: first movie I think that was the first movie depending
- 22:08Speaker 18: on which came out first I think.
- 22:09Speaker 19: I saw it eight times when it came out it's
- 22:11Speaker 19: crazy I loved it I don't know what it was
- 22:14Speaker 19: it was that and I described that we were watching
- 22:16Speaker 19: Daylight not that long ago and I was like taking
- 22:19Speaker 19: any any day like an everyday situation and then turning
- 22:21Speaker 19: it into like death defying you know Disneyland.
- 22:24Speaker 6: Ride turning it upside down literally yeah so yeah I'm
- 22:28Speaker 6: right with you on that one there Let's see. So
- 22:32Speaker 6: I guess how did you eventually break into it?
- 22:34Speaker 15: Eventually?
- 22:36Speaker 6: Well... How did I get in? The early days, I guess.
- 22:39Speaker 9: Well, I moved to L.A.
- 22:40Speaker 18: In 1980, and it took me about four years to
- 22:45Speaker 18: begin making a living at it. It took me two
- 22:47Speaker 18: years to.
- 22:48Speaker 6: Start working, but I was still doing.
- 22:50Speaker 18: I was working at the Chinese Theater, the place with.
- 22:52Speaker 9: The hand-picked prints.
- 22:53Speaker 18: I was working there, and I was parking cars, and
- 22:56Speaker 18: I was studying acting. But, yeah, it took me about
- 22:59Speaker 18: four years to start... like i said make a living.
- 23:02Speaker 6: Yeah yeah and then.
- 23:03Speaker 20: 86 well anyway yeah yeah you'd gotten i guess you've
- 23:08Speaker 20: ended up with your first role with mark harman what
- 23:11Speaker 20: was it does mark harman just have a thing for
- 23:13Speaker 20: you you know i have a theory maybe mark harman
- 23:16Speaker 20: just had a thing for you and he was just.
- 23:17Speaker 18: Well i think he had a thing for me patrick
- 23:19Speaker 18: labrador and.
- 23:20Speaker 6: Kirstie alley because we were all in prince.
- 23:22Speaker 18: Of bel-air and yeah he was you know apparently he
- 23:25Speaker 18: my agent at the time told me that She had
- 23:28Speaker 18: talked to Marmon about summer school, and he said, yeah,
- 23:31Speaker 18: I'm looking for a younger Dean Cameron. And my agent said, well,
- 23:35Speaker 18: why don't you just get Dean Cameron?
- 23:37Speaker 6: I said, I don't know, I don't know.
- 23:39Speaker 18: But I went and met Carl Reiner.
- 23:40Speaker 6: And the rest is history. Definitely. Well, before you got
- 23:45Speaker 6: to summer school, I did want to ask you, as
- 23:47Speaker 6: far as you ended up getting the role on the
- 23:50Speaker 6: Fast Times TV show.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:51Speaker 6: How do you approach a role like Spicoli when you're
- 23:55Speaker 6: not John Pinn? Carefully. Very carefully and respectfully. I've said
- 24:01Speaker 6: this before.
- 24:01Speaker 18: It's a job I did not want to do, and
- 24:03Speaker 18: I had no.
- 24:03Speaker 7: Intention of doing it.
- 24:07Speaker 18: But I realized that it was going to put me
- 24:10Speaker 18: on the map in Hollywood because everybody wanted to know.
- 24:13Speaker 18: Who's the poor sucker who's going to be doing Spicoli?
- 24:16Speaker 10: And it was me.
- 24:18Speaker 18: And it was mission accomplished. It accomplished exactly what I
- 24:21Speaker 18: wanted to do. It lasted very, it was very short,
- 24:23Speaker 18: seven episodes. But, I mean, Amy Hechtling directed it, and
- 24:27Speaker 18: she was originally going to direct Summer School. So she
- 24:30Speaker 18: was talking about me for the Summer School part already, and...
- 24:34Speaker 18: So mission accomplished. So it worked out perfectly. But I,
- 24:37Speaker 18: you know, I knew Sean from acting class and long.
- 24:40Speaker 6: Story, but no, I'm glad I did.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Definitely.
- 24:44Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 24:44Speaker 6: From the career standpoint, I'm just going to go into
- 24:47Speaker 6: a couple of the others. Like, um, what was your
- 24:49Speaker 6: take on bad dreams?
- 24:51Speaker 18: You know, I was really happy to do it and
- 24:53Speaker 18: I thought it was a really cool movie that I
- 24:56Speaker 18: didn't do as well as I would have liked. Um,
- 25:00Speaker 18: I think that's great.
- 25:01Speaker 9: I like it.
- 25:02Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:03Speaker 18: I think I'm good in it. It's a neat, weird
- 25:07Speaker 18: little movie.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Definitely.
- 25:10Speaker 6: I had kind of forgotten Miracle Beach and just caught
- 25:14Speaker 6: it again the other day. It was on cable a
- 25:17Speaker 6: lot at that point in time. I'd seen it many times.
- 25:20Speaker 6: Is it one you're not so thrilled with?
- 25:23Speaker 18: Well, it's funny. About halfway through the movie, I gave up.
- 25:30Speaker 3: Nice.
- 25:31Speaker 18: But I kept saying to myself, you know, no one
- 25:34Speaker 18: will ever see this horrible, horrible movie. And in 1996,
- 25:40Speaker 18: HBO cut their own version of it, a PG version,
- 25:43Speaker 18: so they could show it during the daytime. And it
- 25:45Speaker 18: was the most showed movie in 1996 on HBO.
- 25:47Speaker 6: Oh, my God. Yeah, and I could not escape it.
- 25:50Speaker 6: And it's so funny because of that movie.
- 25:53Speaker 18: Everybody thought I was working all the time because it
- 25:56Speaker 18: was on.
- 25:57Speaker 1: All the time.
- 25:57Speaker 6: I see him all the time.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Yeah, he's working all the time.
- 26:00Speaker 18: There he is again. Can't get her.
- 26:02Speaker 6: But I just was not happy as that. You know,
- 26:05Speaker 6: I just fell off. But ski school was okay? Ski
- 26:11Speaker 6: school was ski school.
- 26:13Speaker 18: I had fewer expectations.
- 26:15Speaker 5: Of ski school than I did with Miracle Beach or
- 26:17Speaker 5: Miserable Beach, as.
- 26:18Speaker 6: I like to call it. Oh, well, did you ever
- 26:21Speaker 6: see the movie Channel 4? promo that they ran for
- 26:23Speaker 6: it they they kind of had a point i was
- 26:25Speaker 6: like it was so out of its times period yeah
- 26:28Speaker 6: it was it was definitely uh it sort of missed
- 26:31Speaker 6: its window for it to actually be like massively popular
- 26:33Speaker 6: i guess.
- 26:34Speaker 21: I still like it so i was gonna say then
- 26:38Speaker 21: then you you ended up working on his first feature
- 26:41Speaker 21: with noah baumbach um what uh i guess what was
- 26:44Speaker 21: he like at that point in his career and and
- 26:47Speaker 21: The same as he is now.
- 26:48Speaker 6: He's really funny and driven and great. I've done a
- 26:52Speaker 6: couple other movies with him. So he's awesome. Kicking and
- 26:56Speaker 6: Screaming is really good and showed what a good writer
- 26:58Speaker 6: he was at that point. As far as the shoot,
- 27:01Speaker 6: was there anything on set going on that was... Memorable,
- 27:04Speaker 6: I guess.
- 27:04Speaker 18: I just remember thinking, I wish they were making movies
- 27:06Speaker 18: like this when I was a young actor.
- 27:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:09Speaker 6: That's still true. It's amazing how few he's made because, yeah,
- 27:13Speaker 6: he needs to make more. Yeah, he does. I know
- 27:16Speaker 6: he wants to.
- 27:16Speaker 18: I mean, for him, lack of trying is not really
- 27:20Speaker 18: up to him as much as it is up to
- 27:23Speaker 18: other people to give him money.
- 27:25Speaker 6: Which is usually the downfall of most good projects.
- 27:27Speaker 16: Yeah.
- 27:30Speaker 6: Let's see. I was going to ask some of the
- 27:31Speaker 6: other stuff you do. As far as Thornbirds, are you still.
- 27:34Speaker 18: Unfortunately, no. Two of the guys that are in that
- 27:37Speaker 18: band are in a band called Steel Panther, which is
- 27:39Speaker 18: this fake heavy metal band.
- 27:41Speaker 15: They're doing great.
- 27:42Speaker 18: They got a deal on Universal, and they're touring around
- 27:45Speaker 18: the world. Fortunately, I have a song on their record,
- 27:47Speaker 18: so that's cool. I don't play with... I would like to,
- 27:50Speaker 18: and they would like to, but they're making more money
- 27:52Speaker 18: doing a fake band.
- 27:54Speaker 6: But I play every week sort.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Of a hobby.
- 27:58Speaker 18: They actually pay us, which is even better, but I
- 28:00Speaker 18: play in this karaoke band called Coreyoke, where ostensibly it's
- 28:06Speaker 18: Corey Haim, Corey Feldman, and Corey Hart coming back to
- 28:09Speaker 18: try to get back on top and.
- 28:11Speaker 9: Get to sing with us.
- 28:12Speaker 18: It's really stupid and silly, and we're just the guys.
- 28:15Speaker 3: To do it.
- 28:16Speaker 6: So is it you play the karaoke, or it's karaoke?
- 28:21Speaker 18: You get to sing with a live band.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Nice.
- 28:22Speaker 18: So we know 120 songs, and you get up and
- 28:25Speaker 18: you sing one of the songs, and we back you up,
- 28:27Speaker 18: and it's awesome.
- 28:29Speaker 6: That's a good amount of songs to memorize. Yeah.
- 28:32Speaker 18: I'd say I have them down completely, flawlessly, but I
- 28:36Speaker 18: can fake it.
- 28:37Speaker 6: It's also a karaoke bar, you know. People are a
- 28:40Speaker 6: little toasty, so the more toasty you are, the better
- 28:43Speaker 6: we sound. Probably, yeah. I was going to ask about
- 28:46Speaker 6: that one anyway, because, yeah, are you... One of our
- 28:50Speaker 6: crew here, the one that just left, has Corey Haim
- 28:52Speaker 6: tattooed on her leg. That's true. So you're not a
- 28:56Speaker 6: huge fan of Corey's? I love the Corey's.
- 29:01Speaker 18: I just thought they sort of threw it all away
- 29:03Speaker 18: because they were really, really good actors.
- 29:05Speaker 22: It's a tragedy.
- 29:05Speaker 6: It's been repeated over and over again. It's just too
- 29:07Speaker 6: bad that they did that.
- 29:09Speaker 5: Yeah, definitely.
- 29:09Speaker 1: It's sad.
- 29:15Speaker 6: Um let's see you said you were directing now is
- 29:18Speaker 6: that something you're not.
- 29:19Speaker 18: As much i mean i don't i do it i've
- 29:21Speaker 18: directed some stage stuff in la uh one of the
- 29:24Speaker 18: things won a bunch of awards and did really well
- 29:26Speaker 18: and uh some short films and you know it's something
- 29:29Speaker 18: i like to do if i if i want to
- 29:32Speaker 18: beat my head against the wall and kill myself i
- 29:35Speaker 18: think i'd rather just do acting but i just stopped
- 29:39Speaker 18: doing that.
- 29:39Speaker 6: Because I was kind of curious on the Nigerian scam.
- 29:46Speaker 6: What's the backstory, I guess, first off, and then the
- 29:49Speaker 6: project itself?
- 29:52Speaker 18: The Nigerian 419 scammers, I corresponded with one for a year,
- 29:56Speaker 18: and I was writing as a very lonely... sexually confused
- 29:59Speaker 18: millionaire from Florida who had a houseboy named Kwan. It's
- 30:03Speaker 18: a little excitable. And writing as someone who's just rich
- 30:07Speaker 18: enough and stupid enough or gullible enough to fall for
- 30:11Speaker 18: the scam. And so it lasted a year, the correspondence,
- 30:15Speaker 18: and friends were urging me to turn it into something.
- 30:18Speaker 18: So I turned it into a two-person show. And it's
- 30:20Speaker 18: me and another guy reading these letters and I show
- 30:24Speaker 18: the Pictures that went back and forth and played the
- 30:26Speaker 18: phone calls that I made, that he called me, I
- 30:28Speaker 18: called him. It's pretty great. We've played around the world
- 30:32Speaker 18: for the last six years.
- 30:35Speaker 6: Seven, six years.
- 30:37Speaker 18: It's a great show.
- 30:38Speaker 5: We're going to be in Salt Lake next March.
- 30:40Speaker 6: That's an amazing concept and way to take it to
- 30:45Speaker 6: a different level.
- 30:45Speaker 18: There's this whole thing about found art and I think
- 30:52Speaker 18: You know, the Internet as art, creating art from the Internet.
- 30:55Speaker 18: And I think it's one of the first things that
- 30:57Speaker 18: did that.
- 30:58Speaker 6: It was like six years ago. That's definitely, yeah, kind
- 31:03Speaker 6: of moving into a whole new territory.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 31:06Speaker 6: The only thing, I guess you've got a son now.
- 31:10Speaker 21: Would you.
- 31:11Speaker 6: encourage him to go into the business?
- 31:13Speaker 9: No.
- 31:14Speaker 18: We constantly, wife and I constantly joke about we're going
- 31:20Speaker 18: to keep him from doing that. We want him to
- 31:22Speaker 18: be a scientist. We want him to develop a healthy
- 31:27Speaker 18: ice cream because we think he could be a billionaire
- 31:31Speaker 18: and support us in the manner we're accustomed to in
- 31:33Speaker 18: our old age. So that's what we're hoping he does.
- 31:35Speaker 6: I'm always up for ice creams. I'm on board for
- 31:37Speaker 6: that idea too.
- 31:38Speaker 18: It wouldn't be great ice cream that made you fit
- 31:42Speaker 18: and extended your longevity and fought diseases.
- 31:45Speaker 6: It'd be great. Even better. My son's just the man
- 31:49Speaker 6: to do it.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Awesome.
- 31:49Speaker 5: All right.
- 31:50Speaker 6: I think that is it. Thank you for talking with
- 31:52Speaker 6: us today, sir.
- 31:53Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 32:16Speaker 23: Choosing a family movie is tough. It seems like all
- 32:18Speaker 23: Hollywood can do is make mindless drivel that rots kids' brains.
- 32:22Speaker 23: Who wants to see a movie like.
- 32:23Speaker 24: What my dad watched when he was a kid. Those
- 32:26Speaker 24: films are so boring and the special effects are horrible.
- 32:29Speaker 24: The movies he grew up with are.
- 32:31Speaker 5: Sometimes a big surprise.
- 32:32Speaker 8: I at times feel uncomfortable watching movies I loved when
- 32:36Speaker 8: I was younger with my own kids because I forgot
- 32:38Speaker 8: how much cursing, sex, and violence they showed back then.
- 32:41Speaker 24: All we want to do is watch a fun movie that.
- 32:44Speaker 25: We all like.
- 32:44Speaker 23: That's why we created Family Movie Night, a podcast where
- 32:48Speaker 23: we review movies from an adult.
- 32:50Speaker 24: Perspective and from a kid's perspective.
- 32:52Speaker 23: So you can find movies for your whole family to enjoy.
- 32:55Speaker 24: We review new movies.
- 32:57Speaker 23: Old childhood favorites, cult and foreign films.
- 33:00Speaker 24: And Godzilla. So check out Family Movie Night on the
- 33:04Speaker 24: web at fmnpodcast.com or find us on iTunes.
- 33:07Speaker 7: Bye!
- 33:09Speaker 14: We are family.
- 33:10Speaker 7: We are family.
- 33:12Speaker 5: We are family.
- 33:26Speaker 10: Hey, this is Danielle Harris.
- 33:28Speaker 25: So I am now maybe, I have to think about it,
- 33:30Speaker 25: but quite possibly one of the newest members of Movie Meltdown.
- 33:35Speaker 25: If I could never actually get to the movies.
- 33:38Speaker 10: But I'll review some.
- 33:38Speaker 25: Old 80s rom-coms for you. You are listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 33:48Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 34:24Speaker 3: Alright, so we're now here in Jungle Gyms. How would
- 34:27Speaker 3: you describe this?
- 34:28Speaker 15: Oh my god.
- 34:29Speaker 9: It's like a really awesome, it's like Whole Foods but
- 34:32Speaker 9: times a million of awesome.
- 34:34Speaker 15: I heard an entire thing of olives.
- 34:36Speaker 5: Fucking olives.
- 34:37Speaker 15: Olives I've never even fucking heard of before.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Okay, Randy, you're here too. What do you think of
- 34:41Speaker 3: this place? I enjoyed the passive-aggressive corn.
- 34:45Speaker 6: I liked the brain manipulator, whatever the hell that thing
- 34:48Speaker 6: was I just sat in.
- 34:49Speaker 26: I don't feel comfortable being marketed to by a giant can.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Of soup that has the opportunity to defecate on me.
- 34:56Speaker 6: Yeah, we are standing next to a giant can of
- 34:58Speaker 6: Campbell's soup, swinging on a swing with a little creepy
- 35:01Speaker 6: Campbell's kid standing next to him in some sort of
- 35:05Speaker 6: pit pat.
- 35:05Speaker 3: I don't know what's going on. A pit pat? It's
- 35:08Speaker 3: like buy Campbell's soup or die.
- 35:11Speaker 6: I'm pretty sure he would attack us all if we didn't.
- 35:14Speaker 6: And so far we're not, so we could be in trouble. Alright,
- 35:25Speaker 6: so now Marlena was just standing by a wall of
- 35:28Speaker 6: boxed wine.
- 35:29Speaker 3: What do you think of that, Marlena?
- 35:30Speaker 15: I'm so excited.
- 35:33Speaker 6: We saw a giant mechanical Elvis bear thing.
- 35:37Speaker 15: Oh, a conundrum.
- 35:38Speaker 3: That's pretty exciting.
- 35:38Speaker 6: A conundrum?
- 35:39Speaker 9: That's nice.
- 35:41Speaker 3: We are in quite a conundrum here.
- 35:47Speaker 15: That was a map, but it's just for the beer
- 35:48Speaker 15: and wine department. Just the beer and wine. I want
- 35:51Speaker 15: to know where the soda pops are.
- 35:53Speaker 3: If you need a map to go to your grocery,
- 35:55Speaker 3: I don't know. That's a lot to deal with. I
- 35:58Speaker 3: just want to go buy some pretzels or something.
- 36:03Speaker 15: Kraft sharp cheddar.
- 36:06Speaker 3: They have individually wrapped slices. These are all fancy and whatnot.
- 36:10Speaker 3: Buffalo wing. I don't know. Where's the individually wrapped American?
- 36:15Speaker 3: That's what I'm looking for.
- 36:20Speaker 15: That is the biggest block of cheese I have ever seen.
- 36:23Speaker 15: Holy shit. You could build a house.
- 36:24Speaker 3: Out of this.
- 36:25Speaker 17: You could build an igloo.
- 36:30Speaker 6: Out of this cheese still kind of fails in comparison
- 36:33Speaker 6: to that chick's mustache that chick's mustache was horrendous she
- 36:36Speaker 6: needs to like wax that shit or go ahead and
- 36:39Speaker 6: grow a beard and make the whole set I thought
- 36:41Speaker 6: you were just being harsh but then I turned around
- 36:43Speaker 6: I was like oh geez wow she really no joke
- 36:46Speaker 6: she's got a full on stash going bleach.
- 36:49Speaker 8: That shit pluck it fucking shave it down whatever something
- 36:52Speaker 8: covered in.
- 36:54Speaker 3: Cheese All right, so what's your wrap-up on the whole event?
- 37:01Speaker 9: That was the best store ever.
- 37:05Speaker 15: This pickle is really good. It came out of a barrel.
- 37:08Speaker 3: I was so excited. It's a giant pickle.
- 37:12Speaker 9: I can't take a bite of it with my fake
- 37:15Speaker 9: teeth now, though.
- 37:16Speaker 15: My fake tooth.
- 37:20Speaker 6: And there is a monorail up there, which sadly we
- 37:22Speaker 6: don't get to take home, but oh well.
- 37:24Speaker 3: I guess we will wrap up our event here at
- 37:26Speaker 3: Foodies and head on back to the show.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Hi, I'm Chili Dilly, the personality pickle. Packed in a
- 37:43Speaker 2: jar for the freshest flavor. Served cold in a sack
- 37:46Speaker 2: for you to savor. Crisp, tender, and tasty with a
- 37:50Speaker 2: bit of spice. Buy one now. Taste how nice. Snack
- 37:54Speaker 2: bar clerks will knock themselves silly, speeding your order for
- 37:58Speaker 2: a real jilly-dilly.
- 37:59Speaker 12: And now let's check in with actor Jonathan Breck.
- 38:04Speaker 17: The creeper himself, from Jeepers Creepers 1 and 2, and.
- 38:09Speaker 4: See what he's up to.
- 38:11Speaker 27: I just, uh, finished a kids movie of all things
- 38:22Speaker 27: Spy Kids 4 with Robert Rodriguez and some good people
- 38:25Speaker 27: in that Jessica Alba and Jeremy Piven from Entourage so
- 38:30Speaker 27: it should be a lot of fun I just finished
- 38:32Speaker 27: that about three weeks ago so yeah and then part
- 38:36Speaker 27: three in the works part three is definitely in the
- 38:38Speaker 27: works I have a script and we were really close
- 38:42Speaker 27: about a year and a half ago I want to
- 38:44Speaker 27: say I mean the movie was scouted budgeted we were
- 38:47Speaker 27: even hiring some of the crew I mean, that's how
- 38:49Speaker 27: close we were. But MGM had, as you probably were,
- 38:54Speaker 27: had a lot of financial difficulties recently. They're in bankruptcy,
- 38:57Speaker 27: and so we're waiting for them to... Everything got frozen
- 39:00Speaker 27: when that happened. All their assets got frozen, so we
- 39:02Speaker 27: were basically put on hold. So we're waiting for them
- 39:04Speaker 27: to get out of that mess, and once they do,
- 39:07Speaker 27: hopefully we'll be back online.
- 39:10Speaker 6: Thank you very much.
- 39:10Speaker 3: Thank you for talking to us.
- 39:11Speaker 6: Thank you to Jonathan, and we'll hear more from him
- 39:13Speaker 6: in future episodes.
- 39:24Speaker 28: Are you looking for a way to connect with people
- 39:26Speaker 28: who like the things that you like? Whether it's music, movies, TV.
- 39:30Speaker 28: or whatever you're into, head on over to the palover.com forums. Yes,
- 39:35Speaker 28: but forums and message boards are elitist and archaic. Well, yeah,
- 39:42Speaker 28: maybe if you're an asshole. Palover.com is home to all
- 39:44Speaker 28: your favorite podcasts. So why not head over there now?
- 39:48Speaker 28: Start talking about all the things you want to talk about.
- 39:51Speaker 28: That's palaver.com. P-A-L-A-V-E-R dot com.
- 39:56Speaker 17: In Napoli, where love is king.
- 40:11Speaker 4: When boy meets.
- 40:13Speaker 12: Girl, here's what they say.
- 40:23Speaker 6: When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie,
- 40:28Speaker 6: that's amore.
- 40:32Speaker 3: All right, so here we are at La Rosa's Pizzeria.
- 40:36Speaker 3: We've crammed, what, a good 50, 60 people in this place.
- 40:39Speaker 26: Yeah, it's kind of like concentration camp seating.
- 40:43Speaker 3: You know, it's been exciting. It's been interesting, I'd say that.
- 40:49Speaker 3: What's your take on it, Miffy?
- 40:51Speaker 15: Way too many fucking people.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Yeah. That shouldn't be the corner.
- 40:54Speaker 15: Randy put me in the corner.
- 40:57Speaker 3: I suggested.
- 40:58Speaker 8: I wanted to sit up there so I could get easy.
- 41:01Speaker 3: I just suggested that that way you wouldn't be next to, see?
- 41:04Speaker 3: I thought maybe then you wouldn't be crammed next to
- 41:06Speaker 3: anybody unsightly like myself. I've watched many movies because you
- 41:10Speaker 3: know that the badass... always.
- 41:12Speaker 18: Sits in the corner with your back to the wall
- 41:15Speaker 18: and you watch.
- 41:15Speaker 3: Escape route. I was looking for you.
- 41:18Speaker 2: Escape route isn't an issue because you don't have to.
- 41:21Speaker 3: Well, then you had an escape route. But if anyone
- 41:25Speaker 3: had come at.
- 41:25Speaker 6: You, you were able to provide a complete overlapping field
- 41:29Speaker 6: of fire threat assessment.
- 41:31Speaker 3: For anything that could have bothered you. I gave you
- 41:34Speaker 3: the alpha position, and I was counting my safety on
- 41:37Speaker 3: you being alert.
- 41:39Speaker 18: And you just sat there and dickered and dickered with
- 41:41Speaker 18: your damn phone.
- 41:43Speaker 3: Oh, don't give me this sad face. Yeah, now you're
- 41:46Speaker 3: being mean. You're going to get in trouble. Oh, wait
- 41:49Speaker 3: a minute. Did I mention how awesome Misty is? That's
- 41:52Speaker 3: your catchphrase. Oh, usually. Yeah, it's late.
- 41:55Speaker 9: Feelings have been hurt.
- 41:58Speaker 3: I knew this wouldn't work.
- 41:59Speaker 29: I've met everybody.
- 42:01Speaker 3: We did what we can, people.
- 42:02Speaker 11: That's true.
- 42:02Speaker 15: Marlena, do you have.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Anything to add to this? She saw a baby.
- 42:07Speaker 1: I like turtles. And babies.
- 42:09Speaker 15: I like babies, too.
- 42:15Speaker 3: That would be Samurai's baby.
- 42:17Speaker 6: Would you like to go into the beautifulness of Rick's baby?
- 42:20Speaker 9: He's pretty cute. He has a little hat on. I
- 42:22Speaker 9: love men with hats. I love old men with those
- 42:24Speaker 9: hats and I love young men with those hats and
- 42:26Speaker 9: babies with those hats. But not in the same way.
- 42:28Speaker 3: You know, like... Not in creepy way.
- 42:31Speaker 9: Yeah no i see a man close to my age
- 42:34Speaker 9: or up to 10 years older i think hey who's
- 42:37Speaker 9: that guy in the hat i see an old man
- 42:39Speaker 9: in a hat and i think oh that's so cute
- 42:42Speaker 9: and i see a baby in a hat i think
- 42:43Speaker 9: oh that's so cute seems very.
- 42:44Speaker 6: Different you're gonna nail all three of them whatever.
- 42:47Speaker 9: That's gross i didn't say.
- 42:49Speaker 3: At the same time now that would be gross You
- 42:53Speaker 3: need to get her a man instruction manual.
- 42:55Speaker 15: You need to get that for many women.
- 42:58Speaker 6: I did see a snuggie karma sutra today. I don't
- 43:01Speaker 6: know if that's exactly what you're talking about.
- 43:03Speaker 9: I was going to put it on the way here.
- 43:04Speaker 9: I was like, I've decided unless a man wears a.
- 43:06Speaker 15: Bow tie, I'm not interested.
- 43:09Speaker 3: That is what you said. And then earlier I upped
- 43:11Speaker 3: it and added a monocle. You got pretty excited.
- 43:13Speaker 9: And then you said handlebar mustache.
- 43:15Speaker 15: I said, you just described Mr.
- 43:16Speaker 18: Peanut.
- 43:17Speaker 15: And then you said bingo.
- 43:20Speaker 3: That sounds about right.
- 43:21Speaker 15: Yeah, I got nothing on that part.
- 43:23Speaker 3: I'm sad and desperate too, but I mean.
- 43:27Speaker 9: He makes me out to be a sad, man-hungry spinster.
- 43:30Speaker 8: That's his job.
- 43:31Speaker 3: Wow, look at this, like in 3D I'm actually a dick.
- 43:44Speaker 3: I think I was telling you that all along.
- 43:47Speaker 6: I've been saying that since day one. I'm like, here's
- 43:50Speaker 6: another call from that dick, man.
- 43:51Speaker 3: Now you get to experience it. He's our favorite listener,
- 43:55Speaker 3: that listener, the dick.
- 43:56Speaker 15: But no, you.
- 43:57Speaker 3: Have to know the sliding scale. As much as we,
- 44:00Speaker 3: you know, you're a dick, but think how terrible that
- 44:02Speaker 3: makes all the rest of it.
- 44:05Speaker 25: I was unseatable.
- 44:06Speaker 18: All you have to do is write a fucking mail
- 44:08Speaker 18: and post it.
- 44:10Speaker 3: You know? Like, never mind. It's all this shit. What
- 44:14Speaker 3: else were we going to discuss earlier? Oh, we did
- 44:17Speaker 3: play skee-ball.
- 44:19Speaker 9: Misty's the one that won everything.
- 44:22Speaker 8: I kicked ass at the Haunted Mansion game, and I
- 44:26Speaker 8: got the fucking 125 tickets, which got me a bunch
- 44:30Speaker 8: of nothing. Actually, Nug got me a kick-ass bag of
- 44:32Speaker 8: army guys, Indian firefighters, and some guy with an axe.
- 44:39Speaker 15: It's pretty fucking awesome.
- 44:40Speaker 3: That was pretty awesome. I played that game as well.
- 44:44Speaker 3: I didn't win.
- 44:45Speaker 6: No, I won like 75 tickets or something. Or 50 maybe.
- 44:49Speaker 6: I got something relatively useful.
- 44:51Speaker 15: And that girl ripped you off.
- 44:52Speaker 3: Yeah, it's because she can't count.
- 44:53Speaker 15: She can't count for shit. I like that. It worked
- 44:56Speaker 15: in my favor. You got fucked. I'm sorry.
- 44:58Speaker 3: Oh, well.
- 44:58Speaker 6: I got my giant army man that has a saw.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Like a hacksaw.
- 45:03Speaker 6: Yeah, he's got like a workshop kind of guy.
- 45:07Speaker 3: I'm not really sure what he's supposed to be. He
- 45:08Speaker 3: sort of looks like.
- 45:09Speaker 6: An army man, but he's got a hacksaw, so I don't...
- 45:12Speaker 6: I don't understand it, and.
- 45:13Speaker 3: That's kind of why I picked it.
- 45:14Speaker 6: I'm like, that guy with the saw, I don't know
- 45:16Speaker 6: what he is, but give me that.
- 45:18Speaker 3: Probably combat engineer. That's my guess.
- 45:22Speaker 15: Oh, man.
- 45:22Speaker 3: Only he wasn't covered in mud.
- 45:25Speaker 6: That can be arranged when I'm out in the backyard
- 45:28Speaker 6: playing with him.
- 45:29Speaker 3: It's good to know.
- 45:30Speaker 6: Do you want me to.
- 45:34Speaker 9: Tell my wedgie story? So I couldn't find my phone,
- 45:38Speaker 9: so I went to get it in the car, which
- 45:42Speaker 9: is in the parking lot, obviously. And I thought I
- 45:45Speaker 9: was going out there alone. I was making sure you
- 45:48Speaker 9: didn't get burgled or attacked or have.
- 45:50Speaker 15: A fit in the parking lot.
- 45:52Speaker 9: But I managed to not notice that she was behind
- 45:54Speaker 9: me until I was in the parking lot, and I
- 45:56Speaker 9: was like, oh, I have a wedgie. So I picked
- 45:58Speaker 9: the wedgie, of course, like anyone would do. And then
- 46:01Speaker 9: I hear Missy go, way to pick that wedgie. And
- 46:04Speaker 9: I was like, oh, shit, I didn't know you were
- 46:07Speaker 9: behind me. Not that I would not have picked the
- 46:09Speaker 9: wedgie if she were behind, if I knew she was there,
- 46:11Speaker 9: but it just made it really funny.
- 46:13Speaker 8: I was complimented on my stealthiness, and I thought I
- 46:15Speaker 8: was sneaky like a ninja.
- 46:16Speaker 3: You are like a ninja. Ninja. Ninja attack. I mean.
- 46:20Speaker 15: Ninja witcher.
- 46:21Speaker 9: I mean, I did hike up my dress and pull
- 46:24Speaker 9: up my pantyhose in front of, like, everybody, so.
- 46:26Speaker 3: Again?
- 46:27Speaker 9: It was everybody in the women's bathroom, so it's not.
- 46:30Speaker 3: This time. Thank you.
- 46:33Speaker 9: You people make your heads feel like the trashiest, like.
- 46:38Speaker 15: But you shut yourself up more.
- 46:40Speaker 4: I know.
- 46:40Speaker 15: And you still come out way shinier than me. I'm
- 46:43Speaker 15: the horribly offensive, trashy person. I got fist bumped by
- 46:48Speaker 15: an old man.
- 46:49Speaker 3: That's the one.
- 46:50Speaker 15: All right, tell the story.
- 46:51Speaker 3: I was sitting in.
- 46:52Speaker 8: The booth with all the comic books wearer and this
- 46:55Speaker 8: old guy with, like, gray hair.
- 46:56Speaker 15: I pulled up to him and I got a ponytail.
- 46:59Speaker 15: He's like, that's awesome.
- 47:00Speaker 3: And he just pissed up. And I'm like, okay.
- 47:02Speaker 11: He's like.
- 47:03Speaker 15: no he doesn't take.
- 47:04Speaker 6: A tap standard fist bump I witnessed it it was
- 47:06Speaker 6: pretty exciting he.
- 47:07Speaker 8: Was old there was no explosions or anything but yeah.
- 47:10Speaker 5: He's like your tattoo that's awesome that's awesome.
- 47:12Speaker 8: Yeah it was pretty exciting so yeah old man was
- 47:16Speaker 8: happy with my tattoo so I feel like I've accomplished
- 47:20Speaker 8: something today.
- 47:22Speaker 6: For me full on fist bump action I know I
- 47:25Speaker 6: did not immediately sanitize so that's a lie.
- 47:27Speaker 3: I did not I don't know But we threatened it.
- 47:33Speaker 6: That was after Randy sanitized.
- 47:38Speaker 3: After you got old man crotch all over your hand.
- 47:41Speaker 3: It's one of the hazards of this park.
- 47:45Speaker 26: That wasn't for getting old man crotch, but.
- 47:47Speaker 3: I beg to differ.
- 47:48Speaker 6: I think they're all excited about your old man crotch action.
- 47:51Speaker 3: Uh, no. Only you were the one excited.
- 47:56Speaker 26: Well, that's because that was shock and horror.
- 48:00Speaker 3: It's like sticking your hand into the creature of the
- 48:02Speaker 3: Black Lagoon's genitals. Accidentally.
- 48:06Speaker 15: Was it moist?
- 48:07Speaker 22: Yes.
- 48:08Speaker 3: It was unpleasant, okay? Yeah, there was a moist girl
- 48:11Speaker 3: at some point today. Yeah, that happened too.
- 48:14Speaker 6: At least the first time we supplied you with sanitizer immediately.
- 48:18Speaker 3: Misty's always got the sanitizer ready.
- 48:20Speaker 9: How do you know about moist women on accident?
- 48:24Speaker 3: It's like bumper cars. Have you been to a whorehouse?
- 48:28Speaker 3: It's wall-to-wall people, and a lot of them are moist.
- 48:33Speaker 6: There's singing involved. I guess we should wrap up now.
- 48:36Speaker 11: Probably.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Amy, would you like to say hello? Hello. Hello.
- 48:48Speaker 6: Give me a wrap-up on the pizzeria experience.
- 48:52Speaker 8: It was really efficient, wonderful, exciting, and I got to
- 48:56Speaker 8: talk to the Movie Meltdown crew.
- 48:57Speaker 15: And I enjoyed you guys immensely.
- 49:00Speaker 3: That would be Amy from Night of Living Podcast. I'm
- 49:02Speaker 3: pretty sure she made that up. It's nice. Yay. Alright,
- 49:07Speaker 3: I guess we will wrap up here. I'm sure we
- 49:09Speaker 3: will check in before long. Back to the hotel. Some
- 49:13Speaker 3: sort of all-night party. I need to shower. Or we're
- 49:16Speaker 3: just going to fall asleep. Last time I was asleep
- 49:19Speaker 3: by about 8 o'clock. so that's the party that I
- 49:22Speaker 3: live in.
- 49:22Speaker 14: When you walk in a dream.
- 49:36Speaker 6: But you know you're not dreaming, signore.
- 49:45Speaker 1: Scuse me, but you see, back in old.
- 49:49Speaker 9: Napoli, that's amore.
- 49:52Speaker 17: Amore, that's amore.
- 49:59Speaker 30: It's time for Sofa Theater.
- 50:03Speaker 16: Men and women can't be friends. Because no man can
- 50:06Speaker 16: be friends with a woman that he finds attractive. He
- 50:08Speaker 16: always wants to have sex with her.
- 50:10Speaker 22: So you're saying that a man can be friends with
- 50:12Speaker 22: a woman he finds unattractive.
- 50:14Speaker 16: No, you pretty much want to nail him, too. A
- 50:18Speaker 16: faceless guy rips off your clothes, and that's the sex
- 50:20Speaker 16: fantasy you've been having since you were 12.
- 50:22Speaker 6: Exactly the same.
- 50:24Speaker 5: Well, sometimes I vary it a little.
- 50:26Speaker 18: Which part?
- 50:27Speaker 15: What I'm wearing.
- 50:29Speaker 3: You tell her about other women.
- 50:31Speaker 16: Yeah, like the other night. I made love to this woman,
- 50:34Speaker 16: and it was so incredible. I took her to a
- 50:36Speaker 16: place that wasn't human. She actually meowed.
- 50:39Speaker 6: You made a woman meow?
- 50:43Speaker 3: I need to talk. What happened?
- 50:45Speaker 7: What's the matter?
- 50:45Speaker 9: Harry came over last night.
- 50:46Speaker 7: I went over to Sally's last night. Because I was
- 50:48Speaker 7: upset that Joe was getting married.
- 50:50Speaker 3: One thing led to another.
- 50:50Speaker 7: And before I knew it, we were kissing, and then...
- 50:52Speaker 7: To make a long story short.
- 50:53Speaker 3: We did it.
- 50:53Speaker 7: They did it.
- 50:55Speaker 15: I'm too structured.
- 50:56Speaker 10: I'm completely closed off.
- 50:58Speaker 28: But in a good way.
- 50:59Speaker 4: And I'm gonna be 40!
- 51:02Speaker 9: When?
- 51:04Speaker 3: Someday. In eight years?
- 51:06Speaker 5: It's not the same for men.
- 51:11Speaker 22: Charlie Chaplin had babies when he was 73.
- 51:13Speaker 16: Yeah, but he was too old to pick them up.
- 51:16Speaker 7: It had to be you. It had to be you.
- 51:24Speaker 31: I wandered around and finally found the somebody.
- 51:29Speaker 7: Who Could make me be true. Could make me be blue.
- 51:39Speaker 7: Or even be glad just to be sad.
- 51:45Speaker 3: Welcome back to this week's Sofa Theater. This week's feature
- 51:48Speaker 3: is probably a little different than our norm. We have
- 51:52Speaker 3: decided to go a different way.
- 51:53Speaker 10: I was just trying to throw a curveball, that's all.
- 51:55Speaker 3: And I kind of like that. I mean, normally we
- 51:58Speaker 3: go in very different directions. We're pretty all over.
- 52:00Speaker 6: The map anyway, but yeah, I thought I would let
- 52:02Speaker 6: you pick the movie this week. So that would be
- 52:05Speaker 6: the voice of our special guest for this segment, Danielle Harris.
- 52:09Speaker 6: I'm sure you.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Guys are all familiar with her.
- 52:12Speaker 6: She's one of our favorites on the show, so, you know,
- 52:15Speaker 6: we usually speak very highly of her.
- 52:18Speaker 11: That's good.
- 52:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 52:20Speaker 10: When was our last interview?
- 52:21Speaker 3: I think it was last year. Yeah, I think it
- 52:24Speaker 3: was last year at Scarefest. Ah, that's right. Yeah. Oh,
- 52:30Speaker 3: but yeah.
- 52:31Speaker 6: So this week's Sofa Theater feature is When Harry Met Sally.
- 52:36Speaker 10: Don't giggle after you say it.
- 52:38Speaker 6: It will probably put some people into shock, which is
- 52:41Speaker 6: why I wanted to do it.
- 52:42Speaker 3: I was like, this is not, you know, the norm. Yes.
- 52:44Speaker 3: To throw them a curveball as well.
- 52:47Speaker 6: Even the crew, because we had, you'll notice I'm the
- 52:49Speaker 6: only one here from the show.
- 52:51Speaker 3: We had at least one veto.
- 52:52Speaker 5: Nobody else wanted to show up and talk about it.
- 52:54Speaker 3: She has a very big issue with Meg Ryan. It
- 52:57Speaker 3: would not have gone well.
- 52:58Speaker 4: What is her issue exactly?
- 52:59Speaker 3: She's the only one. She has a lot of issues, really,
- 53:01Speaker 3: and I tell her that regularly.
- 53:02Speaker 10: About Meg Knight or just in general?
- 53:03Speaker 6: In general, but it's very specific, focused anger towards Meg Knight.
- 53:08Speaker 3: Really? I don't understand why.
- 53:09Speaker 10: Is she just jealous, maybe?
- 53:12Speaker 1: No.
- 53:12Speaker 3: No?
- 53:13Speaker 15: No.
- 53:14Speaker 6: It's just an intense hatred for her. She's a special girl.
- 53:20Speaker 6: But we love her.
- 53:21Speaker 3: I let her use her veto on this one. Gotcha.
- 53:24Speaker 10: I wanted to duke it out with her.
- 53:26Speaker 3: Well, I have my issues, so we can get into them. Otherwise,
- 53:30Speaker 3: The Year is 1989. Director Rob Reiner.
- 53:34Speaker 6: Spoiler alert, I guess, if you've been out of the
- 53:37Speaker 6: country most of your life and haven't seen this movie before,
- 53:40Speaker 6: you know.
- 53:41Speaker 3: We'll just throw that out there now. Otherwise, you chose
- 53:46Speaker 3: this movie.
- 53:47Speaker 6: What was your reason to get into this one, or
- 53:50Speaker 6: where would you like to start with this one?
- 53:54Speaker 10: Where would I like to start with this one?
- 53:57Speaker 25: You know, it's just one of those perfectly written romantic comedies.
- 54:04Speaker 25: There isn't a moment in that movie that I didn't enjoy.
- 54:07Speaker 25: From the beginning, it's got a A beautifully copacetic beginning, middle,
- 54:11Speaker 25: and ending. And it's not cheesy. It's very real. It's
- 54:16Speaker 25: very simple. There are definitely some cheesy moments. And I
- 54:20Speaker 25: think this was when Billy Crystal.
- 54:21Speaker 10: And Meg Ryan were at their top.
- 54:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:24Speaker 10: All of them were sort of, you know, in their A.E.
- 54:27Speaker 3: Game. Well, I was definitely at that breaking point, kind
- 54:30Speaker 3: of for both of them. Yeah.
- 54:31Speaker 6: Billy Crystal had been sort of a name for a while,
- 54:34Speaker 6: but it hadn't really broken through. And same thing, Meg Ryan, really,
- 54:37Speaker 6: this was her first lead role.
- 54:38Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:39Speaker 10: And I think maybe it's because that's the age that
- 54:41Speaker 10: I'm at right now. And they weren't... They were... They
- 54:45Speaker 10: were doing their shtick.
- 54:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:47Speaker 25: But it wasn't too shticky, if that makes any sense. Like,
- 54:51Speaker 25: I love Adam Sandler. I just can't watch him do
- 54:52Speaker 25: it in every single movie. And I prefer him in, like,
- 54:55Speaker 25: Punch Drunk Love. And I prefer him in the dramas
- 54:57Speaker 25: because he's so talented.
- 54:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I have that same issue. I like what he does,
- 55:01Speaker 3: but I don't like when he goes into his routine. Exactly.
- 55:03Speaker 10: So I think that this was sort of... And I
- 55:05Speaker 10: love Billy Crystal, so this was sort of.
- 55:07Speaker 5: And Meg Renz.
- 55:07Speaker 10: This was sort of at the beginning... When they were
- 55:10Speaker 10: just fabulous. And together, fantastic.
- 55:13Speaker 3: The only one, I mean, if there was anything I
- 55:15Speaker 3: thought had a little.
- 55:16Speaker 6: Issue to it, stickiness to it, would be, well, not,
- 55:20Speaker 6: he's actually okay.
- 55:21Speaker 3: I kind of liked him in this one. He was
- 55:22Speaker 3: a little, he downplayed it.
- 55:23Speaker 10: Yeah, I think everyone did.
- 55:25Speaker 25: I think Rob Reiner kind of wrangled them a little
- 55:27Speaker 25: bit and said, okay, take it down like 30%.
- 55:29Speaker 3: Yeah, if anybody fell into their act, I think it
- 55:32Speaker 3: was Billy. I think there's a lot of times where
- 55:33Speaker 3: it'd be like, especially like the end.
- 55:35Speaker 6: When he starts going off on the song, and I'm like,
- 55:37Speaker 6: this is.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Straight out of your old stand-up, isn't it?
- 55:39Speaker 8: Yeah, it totally is.
- 55:40Speaker 3: There's several moments where.
- 55:41Speaker 15: I'm like, this is a little out of your act.
- 55:45Speaker 3: Which, you know, I guess, again, that's what people were
- 55:47Speaker 3: going for at that point.
- 55:48Speaker 6: But yeah, if there's one, I have to call him
- 55:50Speaker 6: out for it. See, Meg was sort of reined in. Again,
- 55:52Speaker 6: I don't think she'd found her thing yet. I don't
- 55:54Speaker 6: think she knew that was her thing. This was the
- 55:56Speaker 6: first of about... three or four movies where she did
- 55:58Speaker 6: kind of the.
- 55:59Speaker 10: Same thing yes this is the beginning of that of.
- 56:02Speaker 3: That era first of that for her but yeah billy
- 56:04Speaker 3: gets a little sticky but but.
- 56:06Speaker 6: He's still likable it's it's still yeah that era when
- 56:08Speaker 6: he's really kind of fun and playful.
- 56:11Speaker 22: So all this time i've been saying that he didn't
- 56:15Speaker 22: want to get married but the truth is he didn't
- 56:21Speaker 22: want to marry me.
- 56:23Speaker 3: And story-wise, I think here's what I had to.
- 56:26Speaker 6: And that's the thing, I don't think I've watched this
- 56:28Speaker 6: since maybe back when it was on VHS. It had
- 56:31Speaker 6: been a long time since I'd seen it. But I
- 56:34Speaker 6: think the way I remembered it was kind of, oh,
- 56:36Speaker 6: it's a fun romantic comedy and everybody remembers the.
- 56:40Speaker 3: Fun jokey kind of scenes.
- 56:42Speaker 6: This time going through and re-watching it this past week
- 56:44Speaker 6: i got a lot of heavier mood more than i
- 56:48Speaker 6: remembered it's.
- 56:48Speaker 25: Well you probably experienced some of that in your own
- 56:52Speaker 25: life so then i think that's why i'm like watching
- 56:54Speaker 25: it now i mean i always loved it as a
- 56:56Speaker 25: kid but watching it as an adult is a totally different.
- 56:59Speaker 3: Experience it's kind of harsh.
- 57:01Speaker 25: It's heavy yeah i mean i just said the other
- 57:03Speaker 25: day i just quoted a line and and i said
- 57:06Speaker 25: you know i'm My real boyfriend just had a baby,
- 57:09Speaker 25: but we've only been broken up since February, so you
- 57:13Speaker 25: could do the math. I was talking about it with
- 57:19Speaker 25: my girlfriends, and I said, I can't believe this is
- 57:22Speaker 25: my life.
- 57:22Speaker 10: I said, I'm pregnant. I'm going to be 40. And
- 57:25Speaker 10: she goes, when? And I said, someday. And she goes,
- 57:29Speaker 10: in eight years. So, actually in seven. But it was
- 57:34Speaker 10: just one of those things that that's how you start
- 57:36Speaker 10: to feel when you're around that age. Like, oh my God.
- 57:39Speaker 6: And then.
- 57:40Speaker 25: You know, love can be standing right in front of
- 57:42Speaker 25: you and sometimes you don't even really see it because
- 57:43Speaker 25: you think you're trying to pursue what you think you're.
- 57:47Speaker 10: Supposed to be with.
- 57:49Speaker 6: I think, and that probably is a lot of what
- 57:51Speaker 6: registered so much this time because it was kind of
- 57:53Speaker 6: that same thing. And I like that almost about movies
- 57:56Speaker 6: and how we get into these movie discussions because it's
- 57:58Speaker 6: not so much what's going on in the movie sometimes
- 58:00Speaker 6: as what you bring to the movie.
- 58:02Speaker 25: Like I just saw the movie with... with Katie Heigl
- 58:06Speaker 25: and Josh Duhamel, and I really liked it.
- 58:08Speaker 4: It was cute.
- 58:08Speaker 25: But, you know, the reality of that actually happening, of,
- 58:13Speaker 25: you know, their two best friends passing away in a
- 58:16Speaker 25: car accident, and they have to raise a baby, and
- 58:17Speaker 25: they're both named, you know, I mean, cute, but you're
- 58:22Speaker 25: just like, all right, okay, that's a cute scene. It
- 58:24Speaker 25: was like scene by scene by scene where I felt
- 58:26Speaker 25: like when Harry Met Sally was a little... It's just
- 58:28Speaker 25: people make things too complicated nowadays, trying to come up.
- 58:31Speaker 10: With new ideas.
- 58:32Speaker 25: How about just basic, like, you know, you end up
- 58:35Speaker 25: falling in love with your best friend?
- 58:36Speaker 6: This has that, I mean, that kind of hardcore core
- 58:40Speaker 6: to it. I mean, yeah, that was one of those
- 58:42Speaker 6: that I, you know, I got out of a relationship
- 58:44Speaker 6: like a year ago, and that line that, like, I
- 58:46Speaker 6: don't really miss him, I miss being.
- 58:48Speaker 3: In a relationship. And that was like.
- 58:51Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like that's what hits you more than anything.
- 58:53Speaker 6: It's like, do I want that back now? It was terrible,
- 58:56Speaker 6: but do I miss the idea of it? And I
- 58:59Speaker 6: think that's what I took more from this time. It
- 59:01Speaker 6: wasn't any of the comedy, really. That's when I was
- 59:05Speaker 6: watching Billy go into that, and it was almost detracting
- 59:07Speaker 6: from the serious end of the story, because I was
- 59:10Speaker 6: tapping in more to be no surprise for most people
- 59:12Speaker 6: the somber end of it that was a lot more
- 59:15Speaker 6: of like just because to me it feels like a
- 59:18Speaker 6: lot of the story because it's built as a romantic comedy.
- 59:21Speaker 3: And it's supposed to be about them finding this.
- 59:23Speaker 6: This romance over the years but almost half of the
- 59:26Speaker 6: movie seems like it's more about surviving a relationship because
- 59:32Speaker 6: both of them are coming out of these serious relationships
- 59:34Speaker 6: and sort of this rebuilding stage. So it almost focuses
- 59:38Speaker 6: more on them dealing with their relationship falling apart even
- 59:42Speaker 6: more than, you know, them falling in love.
- 59:44Speaker 3: Until that last half hour.
- 59:46Speaker 25: If even that, I mean, it's that, you know. And
- 59:49Speaker 25: I just love, I love her face. I love after
- 59:51Speaker 25: they have sex for that time. And she's just all
- 59:55Speaker 25: mushy and into it.
- 59:56Speaker 10: And he's just like, get me the hell out of here.
- 59:59Speaker 10: That's shock. You know, which is why I never sleep out. Because,
- 1:00:03Speaker 10: you know, you don't ever want to be lying next
- 1:00:05Speaker 10: to a guy. feeling that way when he's feeling that way.
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: So i do like and again reading this time because
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: usually you get that and even they bring it up
- 1:00:13Speaker 6: as his you know all of a sudden he was
- 1:00:14Speaker 6: suffocating but at the same time i kind of felt
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: like he's got that look of what have i just
- 1:00:19Speaker 6: ruined because it all it comes true too it's like
- 1:00:22Speaker 6: you watch this you know years of friendship just thrown
- 1:00:24Speaker 6: away at that point because they've slept together and screwed
- 1:00:27Speaker 6: it all.
- 1:00:27Speaker 25: Yeah and i love that line uh i am the
- 1:00:30Speaker 25: dog Is someone in this movie supposed to be like,
- 1:00:32Speaker 25: I am the dog.
- 1:00:33Speaker 10: I am the dog. I just, I just, is someone
- 1:00:37Speaker 10: here supposed to be the dog?
- 1:00:38Speaker 15: I just love it.
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:00:39Speaker 10: I just thought she was so cute.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: She's okay.
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: I think she, again, I think it works best that
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: she was at the beginning of that.
- 1:00:46Speaker 23: Yes.
- 1:00:47Speaker 3: Because later she does.
- 1:00:48Speaker 10: Well, now she probably is annoying. you because you've seen
- 1:00:50Speaker 10: her do it 800 times.
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: But yeah and I don't know I think I lost
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: track over the years I think I haven't watched a
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: lot of stuff lately because I know she went into
- 1:00:59Speaker 6: trying to be more serious by the time she hit
- 1:01:01Speaker 6: like Courage Under Fire and she was trying to get
- 1:01:03Speaker 6: like you know go a different direction interacting so I
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: haven't seen a lot of the more recent stuff she
- 1:01:09Speaker 6: might be doing something very different now but yeah she
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: did fall into a very comfortable role for a.
- 1:01:14Speaker 25: While My second choice for the movie would be Peggy
- 1:01:16Speaker 25: Sue Got Married, so you could have had to do
- 1:01:18Speaker 25: that one.
- 1:01:18Speaker 10: That would be next time. It's been a while.
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: Since I've seen that one, too. I love that movie.
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: It's been a long time. Jim Carrey.
- 1:01:25Speaker 10: How great is Jim Carrey?
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: Oh, Lord.
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: Is he in?
- 1:01:27Speaker 10: Yeah, he's in there.
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: It's been a long time.
- 1:01:29Speaker 10: He plays one of the old boyfriends, and they go
- 1:01:31Speaker 10: back to Union. He's a co-cat. He's doing blow up
- 1:01:33Speaker 10: in the upstairs.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: It's crazy.
- 1:01:35Speaker 10: One of his first things.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: That was just actual footage. They wandered in. But no,
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: I just love the don't eat the red M &
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: M' s part. That's the only thing I really remember from
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: that movie. That was my favorite part. Don't eat the
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: red M.
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: & M' s.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: Oh, what else?
- 1:01:50Speaker 6: I will give Nora Ephron credit. I think this is
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: really smart in the way that it's written. And even
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: kind of just clever dialogue. I do like, again, just
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: drawing back on the reality, you always get a date.
- 1:02:02Speaker 3: On national holidays. You know, that's what you fall back on.
- 1:02:07Speaker 3: At least I've got somebody.
- 1:02:09Speaker 25: This is my first year that I'm not going to
- 1:02:11Speaker 25: be with anybody on, well... not a boyfriend anyway, you know,
- 1:02:15Speaker 25: on Thanksgiving or.
- 1:02:17Speaker 10: Christmas or New Year's. I don't know what that's going
- 1:02:20Speaker 10: to be like.
- 1:02:21Speaker 25: I'm going to totally be her going and grading a
- 1:02:23Speaker 25: Christmas tree all by myself, trying to put it on
- 1:02:25Speaker 25: top of my car, trying to cut it off and
- 1:02:26Speaker 25: get it inside my house.
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: It's going to be a problem. Yeah, it kind of sucks.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: I think that's why I didn't put one on.
- 1:02:33Speaker 25: But I'd rather be spending it with my friends and
- 1:02:34Speaker 25: happy than with someone that you're like.
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: Ugh, I want to get out of this.
- 1:02:38Speaker 3: You have to convince yourself that on occasion.
- 1:02:40Speaker 5: Yeah, I know.
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: In the grand scheme of things, it's better. It's just
- 1:02:44Speaker 6: hard to press yourself into that.
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: It's true.
- 1:02:47Speaker 6: I guess from the movie geek standpoint I do like
- 1:02:50Speaker 6: the fact that they continually reference in the Casablanca thing
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: so that it does become this sort of like passion
- 1:02:57Speaker 6: versus practical like way of looking at a relationship and
- 1:03:01Speaker 6: it's funny how she changes over the years like she
- 1:03:04Speaker 6: starts off one way and then again I guess like
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: we were saying earlier as time goes on you sort
- 1:03:09Speaker 6: of readjust your thinking it changes everything it.
- 1:03:12Speaker 25: Does love doesn't look the way you think it's supposed
- 1:03:14Speaker 25: to yeah I think that's the big message that I
- 1:03:16Speaker 25: think we're all we're all kind of sort of starting
- 1:03:19Speaker 25: to understand in our 30s and it's not I want you.
- 1:03:22Speaker 10: Know it's like I talk about this all the time
- 1:03:23Speaker 10: but I want people.
- 1:03:24Speaker 25: To know that it's not lowering your standards it's opening
- 1:03:29Speaker 25: up your eyes to what reality is.
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: It's readjusting your state.
- 1:03:32Speaker 25: Yeah, it's readjusting, you know, and things that are important
- 1:03:36Speaker 25: to you are, I mean, I've always loved a man
- 1:03:38Speaker 25: with a sense of humor, you know, and I've always said,
- 1:03:40Speaker 25: you know, looks come after that, and that's still true,
- 1:03:44Speaker 25: but the men that I date now in my 30s
- 1:03:46Speaker 25: are very different.
- 1:03:47Speaker 10: Physically than the men that I dated in my 20s.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:03:50Speaker 25: I find all sorts of, you know, sizes, shapes, ages,
- 1:03:54Speaker 25: I mean, you know, I have that list of, like,
- 1:03:56Speaker 25: Things that I didn't want. And then, ironically enough, people
- 1:04:00Speaker 25: that I've dated in the last couple months have all
- 1:04:03Speaker 25: of those things that I didn't want. Divorced, kids, different jobs.
- 1:04:08Speaker 25: I mean, you know what I mean? So many things that...
- 1:04:11Speaker 25: Old or young, in their 50s. I mean, you know,
- 1:04:14Speaker 25: I don't know what love looks like. I'm just trying
- 1:04:17Speaker 25: to see if it's me.
- 1:04:18Speaker 6: It also becomes harder to find people that aren't divorced
- 1:04:21Speaker 6: and have kids.
- 1:04:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:04:22Speaker 6: I mean, it's different when you're 19 versus when you're 30, 35.
- 1:04:26Speaker 25: I mean, I actually feel like I've been preferring men
- 1:04:30Speaker 25: that are divorced.
- 1:04:31Speaker 10: Because if they're willing to kind of do it again...
- 1:04:35Speaker 10: They've kind of.
- 1:04:36Speaker 25: Been through it and lived through it and realized they're
- 1:04:38Speaker 25: not going to die and getting married isn't.
- 1:04:40Speaker 10: The end of their life.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: And they know sort of what they're in for as
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: opposed to being a kid and just getting knee-deepened.
- 1:04:47Speaker 10: Especially, you know, I live in L.A.
- 1:04:48Speaker 25: And most of the actors are who I usually date
- 1:04:50Speaker 25: and I think that around the age where they're mature
- 1:04:54Speaker 25: enough to date and think about it, they're in their
- 1:04:57Speaker 25: late 30s, early 40s, and if they haven't been married
- 1:05:00Speaker 25: by 42 or 43... that kind of says a lot
- 1:05:04Speaker 25: so you know so it's like either way.
- 1:05:07Speaker 10: You're kind of it's it's it's a little.
- 1:05:09Speaker 6: Tricky it's always a difficult game to play yeah it's never.
- 1:05:14Speaker 25: Easy i could be 40 and single am i really
- 1:05:18Speaker 25: going to be the woman that's like you know having
- 1:05:21Speaker 25: a kid by herself with a with a sperm donor
- 1:05:25Speaker 25: I mean.
- 1:05:25Speaker 3: I think I've given up on all that. I have
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: dogs now.
- 1:05:28Speaker 10: I have dogs, too. But, see, you're a man. It's different.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: Nobody thinks I am. Everybody still treats me like I'm, like, 19. So,
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: if that helps. Do you act 19?
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: Not really, because I don't behave.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: I think I'm more of an old man at this point.
- 1:05:42Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: You feel old.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: I went up and went to the room and.
- 1:05:45Speaker 6: Went to sleep.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: So did I.
- 1:05:47Speaker 25: I watched Julia Roberts' marathon and ordered steak and ate
- 1:05:50Speaker 25: it in my bed.
- 1:05:51Speaker 10: That's what I did.
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: I'm lame.
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: That was my part.
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: And other people were there, and I wasn't really interacting
- 1:05:57Speaker 6: with them.
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: Antisocial as I am. I am, too. They all left
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: because everybody was laying there trying to go to sleep.
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: And they all went to another room and partied, and
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: I went to sleep.
- 1:06:07Speaker 10: That's why you look so young. Like, me too, because
- 1:06:09Speaker 10: I don't go out that much.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: I'm sure you don't get treated your age either, so... No.
- 1:06:17Speaker 6: Oh, man.
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: I do... I think if there's one thing that it
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: plays heavily on in this movie as far as sentiment,
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: the music it uses.
- 1:06:26Speaker 15: Yes.
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: On one hand, it's amazing, but again, it's also like...
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: This was.
- 1:06:31Speaker 6: Probably one of the first times they'd done that, though.
- 1:06:32Speaker 6: This was quite a while ago, so now you see
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: it a lot more often, but it feels like it's
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: almost like... shorthand it becomes sort of an easy move
- 1:06:40Speaker 6: for them if you play these you know old school
- 1:06:44Speaker 6: like romantic songs you kind of sucker people in even
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: even without much effort it's like you're even if the movie.
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: Was half as good as it was if you play.
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: Those songs over top of it you kind of get
- 1:06:53Speaker 6: a little schmaltzy i'll have what she's having All right.
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: I guess at some point we'll have to get to
- 1:07:01Speaker 6: the most memorable scene in this, which I disagree with.
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: I kind of had such.
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: A bad feeling about that one anyway, and I went
- 1:07:09Speaker 6: back and watched it.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, I really don't like this scene. Yeah,
- 1:07:12Speaker 3: the orgasm scene. And I think the reason why is
- 1:07:15Speaker 3: it seems so forced. It does not fit her character
- 1:07:18Speaker 3: at all. The entire rest of the movie, she.
- 1:07:21Speaker 6: Is so subdued and quiet and reserved. So why all
- 1:07:25Speaker 6: of a sudden?
- 1:07:26Speaker 25: I think it was more... Wasn't that Rob Reiner's mom?
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:30Speaker 10: Maybe it was just to get her a little piece
- 1:07:32Speaker 10: in there.
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: It was probably.
- 1:07:33Speaker 6: I checked into it, and it was one of those that...
- 1:07:36Speaker 6: It just sort of came up. Like, they're already shooting it.
- 1:07:39Speaker 3: It was one of those, wouldn't it be funny if?
- 1:07:41Speaker 3: So I think it is very much inserted in. But
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: to me, it feels very forced. I know, yeah.
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: It's funny, but it's not fitting in this movie almost.
- 1:07:50Speaker 3: It almost needs to be in a different movie.
- 1:07:52Speaker 25: I do love their conversation when they get out of
- 1:07:54Speaker 25: the car walking into the diner.
- 1:07:56Speaker 10: And I love what she orders. I mean, that sets
- 1:07:57Speaker 10: up everything, what she orders when she gets there. So
- 1:08:00Speaker 10: that's important.
- 1:08:00Speaker 6: Well in in general i think even the conversation up
- 1:08:03Speaker 6: to that point i mean i don't mind them having
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: that in.
- 1:08:05Speaker 3: There it is certainly a real issue.
- 1:08:08Speaker 6: And so i mean it is something they could address
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: i just the way that they ended the joke end
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: of it quote unquote is a little.
- 1:08:15Speaker 32: Yeah i agree all right i'll give you that oh
- 1:08:18Speaker 32: man you know it's fine we started out like this
- 1:08:22Speaker 32: ellen and i we had blank walls we hung things
- 1:08:25Speaker 32: we picked out tiles together then you know what happens Six.
- 1:08:28Speaker 16: Years later, you find yourself singing Sorry with a Fringe
- 1:08:30Speaker 16: on top in front of Ira.
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: Do we have to talk about this right now?
- 1:08:35Speaker 16: Yes, I think that right now actually is the perfect
- 1:08:37Speaker 16: time to talk about this because I want our friends
- 1:08:39Speaker 16: to benefit from the wisdom of my experience. Right now,
- 1:08:42Speaker 16: everything is great.
- 1:08:43Speaker 7: Everyone is happy. Everyone is in love.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: And that's wonderful.
- 1:08:46Speaker 16: But you got to know that sooner or later, you're
- 1:08:49Speaker 16: going to be screaming at each other about who's going
- 1:08:50Speaker 16: to get this dish.
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: This $ 8.
- 1:08:52Speaker 16: Dish will cost you $ 1, 000 in phone calls to the
- 1:08:55Speaker 16: legal firm.
- 1:08:55Speaker 7: Of That's Mine, This is Yours.
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: Terry.
- 1:08:57Speaker 8: Please.
- 1:08:59Speaker 9: Jess, Marie.
- 1:09:00Speaker 16: Do me a favor for your own good. Put your
- 1:09:02Speaker 16: name in your books right now before they get mixed
- 1:09:05Speaker 16: up and you don't know whose is whose. Because someday,
- 1:09:07Speaker 16: believe it or not, you'll go 15 rounds over who's
- 1:09:10Speaker 16: going to get this coffee table. This stupid wagon wheel
- 1:09:14Speaker 16: Roy Rogers garage sale coffee table.
- 1:09:18Speaker 8: I thought you liked it.
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: I was being nice!
- 1:09:21Speaker 6: Then, you know, if you'll go with that one, I'll
- 1:09:23Speaker 6: give you some good, you know, some good points.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: Some of the writing, again, as I said, baby fish
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: mouth is.
- 1:09:29Speaker 15: Baby fish mouth.
- 1:09:30Speaker 8: Baby fish mouth.
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't see that coming.
- 1:09:33Speaker 10: Baby fish mouth is sweeping the nation.
- 1:09:35Speaker 15: Cool.
- 1:09:36Speaker 3: That whole scene of them playing the whole Pictionary win-lose-or-draw moment, which, again,
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: was overwhelming in the 80s. Everybody thought that was the
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: greatest game ever.
- 1:09:45Speaker 10: It's still one of the greatest games ever.
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: It's still fun, but it's funny how much that dropped off.
- 1:09:49Speaker 6: You show that to kids now, they'd be like, what.
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: Are they doing?
- 1:09:51Speaker 10: I know, it's true.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: It's gone.
- 1:09:52Speaker 22: I know.
- 1:09:52Speaker 3: No, it's true.
- 1:09:54Speaker 6: Everyone was obsessed with that idea then, so that part
- 1:09:57Speaker 6: is just funny.
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: The entire scene of them screaming out ridiculous things is funny.
- 1:10:03Speaker 3: I like Carrie Fisher. She doesn't have much to do
- 1:10:05Speaker 3: in it.
- 1:10:05Speaker 9: She's dead.
- 1:10:06Speaker 6: But the someone staring at you in personal growth is
- 1:10:10Speaker 6: a hilarious line, I'll give them that.
- 1:10:12Speaker 10: And they fit so nicely together.
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: Yeah. And I'd like, that's one, you know, as much as.
- 1:10:17Speaker 6: I have problems with the relationship of the main two characters,
- 1:10:21Speaker 6: I really like the Carrie Fisher and Bruno Kirby relationship.
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: It's like, as it unfolds, it really is. It's very real.
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: They seem like a very real couple. More so than
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: probably our leads.
- 1:10:32Speaker 15: That's right.
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: But yeah, and they seem like a pretty well-rounded.
- 1:10:35Speaker 10: Supporting roles are always the better ones anyway.
- 1:10:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:10:37Speaker 10: They pepper the story, you know.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10:39Speaker 6: It's a shame they don't get more screen time or
- 1:10:41Speaker 6: get more, because even in the scenes with them separate,
- 1:10:43Speaker 6: and I think that's kind of cool, too, that they
- 1:10:45Speaker 6: sort of build these relationships.
- 1:10:47Speaker 25: I love when that door busts open and he's dragging
- 1:10:49Speaker 25: out the wagon wheel coffee table.
- 1:10:51Speaker 3: Don't you say anything. I like that wagon wheel coffee table.
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: I don't know if she's talking.
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: I did, too.
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: See, I would totally have that wagon wheel coffee table.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: It'd fit in their house. Roy Rogers garage sale. Where
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: is this garage sale? I want to go there. But yeah,
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: so I mean, I think it is well written. I
- 1:11:09Speaker 3: think it is one of those that.
- 1:11:10Speaker 6: Nora Ephron, I think Nora Ephron is a good writer,
- 1:11:15Speaker 6: especially at this point.
- 1:11:17Speaker 3: I think she almost kind of one-upped herself.
- 1:11:20Speaker 6: It's, again, been a long time since I've seen Sleepless
- 1:11:22Speaker 6: in Seattle.
- 1:11:23Speaker 3: I kind of like that one a little more, really.
- 1:11:25Speaker 6: If I remember, and I think it's because it doesn't
- 1:11:28Speaker 6: go so far into the comedy. Again, I think that
- 1:11:30Speaker 6: one plays a lot more serious and a lot more
- 1:11:32Speaker 6: just into the drama.
- 1:11:34Speaker 10: See, I felt like that was... a little bit less
- 1:11:37Speaker 10: believable and.
- 1:11:38Speaker 25: More of an idea for what would be.
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: A good movie.
- 1:11:42Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I mean, drawing on the old Hollywood idea.
- 1:11:45Speaker 25: The kid calls in and, you know what I mean,
- 1:11:49Speaker 25: tries to set them up and it's like, that would
- 1:11:51Speaker 25: never really happen. It gives us girls that watch those
- 1:11:55Speaker 25: movies a wrong sense of what could really happen.
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: Some sort of universal plan.
- 1:12:01Speaker 10: It's just bullshit fairy tale. Yeah, it doesn't really work
- 1:12:04Speaker 10: that way.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: I've given up on that universal plan.
- 1:12:07Speaker 6: Me too.
- 1:12:08Speaker 3: But I think, yeah, I think... I kind of get
- 1:12:10Speaker 3: that in this one, too, though.
- 1:12:11Speaker 6: I think there's some, there's like, it's so back and
- 1:12:14Speaker 6: forth for me.
- 1:12:14Speaker 3: It's like there's moments that seem so realistic. Yeah.
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: And there's other moments.
- 1:12:18Speaker 25: When he busts through the door at the party and
- 1:12:20Speaker 25: like right before the countdown.
- 1:12:21Speaker 10: I mean, every girl dreams of that happening.
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: But there are, yeah, stuff like that.
- 1:12:24Speaker 6: It seems like they're moments that are in a movie.
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:27Speaker 6: And they seem very, there's very, and especially you get
- 1:12:29Speaker 6: to the little montages and you get to them.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:12:32Speaker 9: I love those.
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: The character building. It is one of those.
- 1:12:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:12:35Speaker 6: It's a sweet moment, but at the same time, they
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: feel very, again, they're almost playing you on the sentimental thing.
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: Much like the music, it kind of feels like, again,
- 1:12:43Speaker 3: they know what they're doing.
- 1:12:44Speaker 6: They know their audience. It's, yeah, I just, I think
- 1:12:47Speaker 6: I feel it a little more than I'm supposed to.
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: It's like, you're trying to trick me.
- 1:12:51Speaker 25: You're not going to make me feel.
- 1:12:54Speaker 6: But yeah, I think Nora writes some really good dialogue.
- 1:12:59Speaker 6: I question some of her movies further on.
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: Like what?
- 1:13:02Speaker 6: I didn't realize some of the things. I had to
- 1:13:04Speaker 6: double check. Let's see, what was the stuff I pulled
- 1:13:06Speaker 6: up and went, oh, really?
- 1:13:08Speaker 3: She did, hmm, she did Bewitched. I believe she directed Bewitched.
- 1:13:14Speaker 10: I think she did, actually.
- 1:13:16Speaker 22: Yikes.
- 1:13:16Speaker 10: I mean, maybe she was, I mean, like me, a
- 1:13:18Speaker 10: huge fan of the television show and then thought, you
- 1:13:21Speaker 10: know what, I would love to do this.
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, of course.
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: The movie seems... Was that Nicole Kidman?
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: Who was that?
- 1:13:29Speaker 6: And then a few years before that, she did that
- 1:13:31Speaker 6: Michael movie with John Travolta.
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: That was way off, too. Yeah. I was like, she.
- 1:13:37Speaker 25: Where he comes, where he's a dead angel.
- 1:13:40Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: Yeah, that's interesting. Again, could have been an interesting idea.
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: Seems way off.
- 1:13:45Speaker 25: Yeah.
- 1:13:45Speaker 3: I don't know. She takes a chance.
- 1:13:47Speaker 6: She seems very hit and miss, but I think at
- 1:13:49Speaker 6: this point in Sleepless in Seattle, she really had found
- 1:13:53Speaker 6: her place and she really writes that stuff, I think,
- 1:13:56Speaker 6: pretty smart. This was probably her best era, that four
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: or five years there where she was putting stuff out.
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: Stick with that versus Mike. I don't know. Um, let's see.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: Which one? Yeah. It was her and Will Ferrell.
- 1:14:14Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:14:15Speaker 8: Right.
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: Oh, what an interesting choice. Yeah.
- 1:14:18Speaker 25: I wonder if they were the first choice for those characters.
- 1:14:22Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 1:14:23Speaker 29: Oh, man.
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: So, I don't know.
- 1:14:25Speaker 6: I think if I have... As much as I have...
- 1:14:28Speaker 6: You know, I like the supporting roles. If I have
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: a problem with the characters, I think it is the
- 1:14:33Speaker 6: main two characters. I think I have a problem... identifying
- 1:14:36Speaker 6: with him because especially in the first half Billy's kind
- 1:14:39Speaker 6: of a jerk I mean he really he comes off
- 1:14:42Speaker 6: as a very jerky character but also and this goes
- 1:14:46Speaker 6: on through almost the entire run of it and I
- 1:14:48Speaker 6: think what I continue to have a problem with just
- 1:14:51Speaker 6: sneaking around, and that's his thing.
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: And he has no problem with that.
- 1:14:56Speaker 6: And, you know, maybe it's, again, maybe it's a different
- 1:14:58Speaker 6: mindset today, but I'm like, I kind of have no
- 1:15:00Speaker 6: respect for this character now.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: And so I have problems with his.
- 1:15:03Speaker 6: Character because of that, because he's kind of a jerk.
- 1:15:06Speaker 6: Through the first half of the movie, he continues to
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: be a slut, basically.
- 1:15:09Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:15:10Speaker 6: And to the point where she says, you're going to
- 1:15:12Speaker 6: have to move back to New Jersey.
- 1:15:13Speaker 10: But isn't that because.
- 1:15:16Speaker 25: Most men like him that are as insecure as he
- 1:15:20Speaker 25: is have a huge fear of intimacy. And that's probably
- 1:15:24Speaker 25: why it's hard for him to see a good relationship.
- 1:15:26Speaker 25: And he continues to go after women that are safe.
- 1:15:29Speaker 25: Because it's easy and he doesn't have to actually deal
- 1:15:33Speaker 25: with his shit, which comes up.
- 1:15:35Speaker 10: And he's just divorced.
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:15:38Speaker 10: I mean, that's why he's sleeping with all of New York.
- 1:15:40Speaker 3: His plan.
- 1:15:41Speaker 10: You know?
- 1:15:41Speaker 25: I mean, he probably was a good boy, got married,
- 1:15:43Speaker 25: got screwed over, and now he's like, you know what?
- 1:15:46Speaker 10: Fuck it.
- 1:15:47Speaker 25: And he just goes and sleeps, which I have a
- 1:15:50Speaker 25: lot of male friends that are divorced that are like,
- 1:15:52Speaker 25: I'm going to sleep with as many women as I
- 1:15:54Speaker 25: possibly can.
- 1:15:55Speaker 10: And it usually starts with, like, 20-year-olds.
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:57Speaker 10: And you're like, really?
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:15:59Speaker 6: Really?
- 1:15:59Speaker 10: What are you getting out of that?
- 1:16:01Speaker 25: Well, I know what they're getting out of it, but,
- 1:16:02Speaker 25: you know, so I think that it's kind of fitting.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, I don't doubt that it's somewhat realistic.
- 1:16:09Speaker 3: I think I just have issues with the character then.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: It's somebody that it's harder to get on board with.
- 1:16:14Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:16:15Speaker 25: You should have played the pain a bit more than
- 1:16:17Speaker 25: the being funny about it.
- 1:16:20Speaker 6: Earlier where he just where he wasn't sleeping around anymore
- 1:16:23Speaker 6: because there's some sort of like pining for her that
- 1:16:25Speaker 6: he doesn't acknowledge maybe but it is like laying there
- 1:16:29Speaker 6: but um and then even with her i think she
- 1:16:33Speaker 6: goes through so much of that middle part like so
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: detached and it is real again it's a very real
- 1:16:38Speaker 6: way of doing it because she's she's sort of bottling
- 1:16:40Speaker 6: up everything and doesn't want to deal with it but
- 1:16:42Speaker 6: it also makes her come off really cold and and
- 1:16:45Speaker 6: like she uncaring towards you know their situation as well
- 1:16:48Speaker 6: as everybody so it's until she has that breakdown and
- 1:16:51Speaker 6: after that you can kind of get on board with
- 1:16:53Speaker 6: her she seems like she comes to terms with things
- 1:16:55Speaker 6: and she's more of a real person but that whole
- 1:16:58Speaker 6: middle of the movie she seems so detached it's hard
- 1:17:00Speaker 6: to be.
- 1:17:00Speaker 3: On board with her too it's true it's yeah.
- 1:17:03Speaker 25: But i it's like i totally get that detachment though
- 1:17:05Speaker 25: at the same time you know.
- 1:17:07Speaker 3: I think i'm still in that I.
- 1:17:10Speaker 6: Like to identify with these movies as much as I can.
- 1:17:14Speaker 3: This one certainly has its moments. So I don't know.
- 1:17:19Speaker 6: I think in the end it's like bits and pieces
- 1:17:22Speaker 6: for me. I think there's so much of it I
- 1:17:24Speaker 6: think is good.
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: And then there's others that I have huge issues with.
- 1:17:27Speaker 6: But I don't think it detracts from the whole. I
- 1:17:29Speaker 6: think if you like these.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: Kind of movies, it's definitely one you can get into.
- 1:17:33Speaker 6: But I think it's got something to offer.
- 1:17:35Speaker 10: It's a good holiday movie.
- 1:17:36Speaker 7: Is it?
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: I was depressed by it.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: Perfect holiday movie.
- 1:17:39Speaker 5: Suicides go up around the holidays.
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: You know, like.
- 1:17:47Speaker 10: That week during Thanksgiving where people have off.
- 1:17:49Speaker 25: Like, one of those movies where you can get together with,
- 1:17:52Speaker 25: and probably girls will do this, you know, I don't know,
- 1:17:54Speaker 25: have your girlfriends over and sit and watch it.
- 1:17:56Speaker 10: I mean, it's cheesy, but... It'd be fun to have
- 1:17:59Speaker 10: like a Nora Ephron little movie night. I mean, should
- 1:18:01Speaker 10: I watch, you know, Julia Roberts Marathon?
- 1:18:03Speaker 6: I watch Notting Hill.
- 1:18:04Speaker 10: What a horrible movie that is.
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: I've avoided that.
- 1:18:06Speaker 31: Horrible.
- 1:18:08Speaker 25: It's funny because I don't even buy Julia Roberts as
- 1:18:10Speaker 25: a movie star in a movie where she's playing a
- 1:18:12Speaker 25: movie star when she really.
- 1:18:13Speaker 10: Is a movie star.
- 1:18:14Speaker 25: Wow.
- 1:18:14Speaker 10: That's pretty bad for a movie star. I mean, I
- 1:18:16Speaker 10: love Hugh Grant.
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:18:18Speaker 10: Menzies are so damn cute.
- 1:18:20Speaker 25: Other than that, the movie would have sucked.
- 1:18:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:18:23Speaker 6: I have successfully avoided that one. She's gone steadily downhill,
- 1:18:27Speaker 6: it seems.
- 1:18:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:18:28Speaker 11: Ugh.
- 1:18:29Speaker 3: I don't know what to do with her.
- 1:18:30Speaker 25: I did love Renée Prey Love, though. I don't buy
- 1:18:32Speaker 25: that she's... And you pray love that she was, you know,
- 1:18:35Speaker 25: broke and couldn't find a man.
- 1:18:37Speaker 10: I mean, she's freaking Julia Roberts.
- 1:18:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you never know.
- 1:18:40Speaker 10: But I like the movie a lot.
- 1:18:43Speaker 3: I have not seen that movie.
- 1:18:45Speaker 10: See, I could have made you do that one.
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: See? Is it out? Yeah, it's on DVD now. It is?
- 1:18:51Speaker 3: I think it just came out.
- 1:18:52Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 1:18:52Speaker 12: Maybe it's still theater.
- 1:18:53Speaker 10: Probably Christmas. I think it's still in the theater.
- 1:18:56Speaker 6: I'm out of the loop.
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: I'm watching movies from the 70s.
- 1:18:58Speaker 10: Ah, gotcha.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: I'm usually behind a couple of decades. Okay. Oh, man.
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: So I'm trying to think.
- 1:19:05Speaker 6: Anything else? Your grand thoughts on the movie, I guess?
- 1:19:12Speaker 10: I think we covered a lot, actually.
- 1:19:14Speaker 25: Probably more than I thought we would, talking about When
- 1:19:17Speaker 25: Harry Met Sally.
- 1:19:19Speaker 6: Again, I usually delve into it on levels people probably
- 1:19:21Speaker 6: don't even want to talk about.
- 1:19:23Speaker 10: Well, this will appeal to everybody, then.
- 1:19:26Speaker 7: Or nobody.
- 1:19:26Speaker 10: Or nobody.
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: I'm waiting to find out.
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: Let me know.
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: They're probably still in shock from the choice a lot.
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: Deal with it. Oh, all right.
- 1:19:36Speaker 22: Let's see.
- 1:19:37Speaker 6: So we will wrap up the big sofa theater feature
- 1:19:40Speaker 6: this week then. But I was going to have you,
- 1:19:42Speaker 6: you know, tell people what you've been up to lately.
- 1:19:44Speaker 3: If you want to spread the word on new projects. Sure.
- 1:19:47Speaker 25: I'm writing right now with my writing partner, Brianne Davis.
- 1:19:50Speaker 10: And Cheyenne Quinn.
- 1:19:52Speaker 4: And....
- 1:19:54Speaker 10: We are, uh, cause I'm, I'm wanting to direct obviously.
- 1:19:57Speaker 25: So, um, I figured I, I can't, I'm not reading
- 1:20:00Speaker 25: anything that I want to direct.
- 1:20:02Speaker 10: So I'm, I'm finally going to write it and, um.
- 1:20:04Speaker 25: Got an amazing team of girls and, uh, it's basically, uh,
- 1:20:08Speaker 25: you know, chick flick in the horror genre.
- 1:20:11Speaker 10: Ironically enough.
- 1:20:13Speaker 3: Did Frank ever happen?
- 1:20:14Speaker 10: Yeah, we did Frank. We did mine anyway. Um, rest
- 1:20:18Speaker 10: did not happen. Um, But this one is like a
- 1:20:23Speaker 10: first wives club. I could have made you do that
- 1:20:25Speaker 10: one too.
- 1:20:26Speaker 25: First wives club meets fight club.
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: Okay, fight club among the women.
- 1:20:31Speaker 25: You know, it's sort of this like underground secret society
- 1:20:35Speaker 25: of women that bond together under the name of sisterhood
- 1:20:37Speaker 25: to take out other women that are ruining it and
- 1:20:41Speaker 25: making it hard for us women to live a normal
- 1:20:44Speaker 25: life and keep our men and keep our jobs. I
- 1:20:48Speaker 25: don't care about the hoes and hookers.
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: Those 20-year-olds that the guys were sleeping with? Nah.
- 1:20:54Speaker 6: You know what?
- 1:20:54Speaker 25: Here's the difference is that I don't care about those
- 1:20:56Speaker 25: girls because they're not really a threat.
- 1:20:58Speaker 10: Those girls are short-lived.
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: They don't even know what they're doing.
- 1:21:00Speaker 10: They don't know. It's the women that.
- 1:21:03Speaker 25: are smart, conniving, manipulative that play these men and men
- 1:21:09Speaker 25: get wrapped up in them.
- 1:21:11Speaker 10: And then the men.
- 1:21:12Speaker 25: That like the crazy, the girls that play the crazy
- 1:21:15Speaker 25: that aren't really crazy, those are the ones I don't like.
- 1:21:17Speaker 25: Because a woman can see through that in a second.
- 1:21:21Speaker 10: And I want them gone.
- 1:21:23Speaker 25: So, yeah. So I'm going to start this movement across
- 1:21:26Speaker 25: the world to make this happen because women that kill,
- 1:21:29Speaker 25: kill brutally and are much smarter and probably don't get caught,
- 1:21:34Speaker 25: which is why there's so much less serial killer women.
- 1:21:37Speaker 10: But how do you really know that? Maybe we just
- 1:21:39Speaker 10: don't get.
- 1:21:39Speaker 15: Maybe we're just smarter.
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: Unsolved mystery.
- 1:21:42Speaker 7: Yes.
- 1:21:42Speaker 25: So a la Tarantino style, uh, you know, strong, badass,
- 1:21:47Speaker 25: scary ass women.
- 1:21:48Speaker 10: And, uh, Definitely some.
- 1:21:50Speaker 25: Hardcore kills and thrills that will appeal to, you know,
- 1:21:55Speaker 25: like the fucked up sex in the city, basically.
- 1:21:58Speaker 10: Pretty much. That's kind of what I want to do.
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: I wish you didn't make me watch that one.
- 1:22:02Speaker 10: Because we go watch that.
- 1:22:03Speaker 25: I wanted to give us women that are a little
- 1:22:06Speaker 25: off something.
- 1:22:06Speaker 10: To cheer for.
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:22:08Speaker 6: I don't have a problem with the ideas of what's
- 1:22:11Speaker 6: going on in that. I think I just don't like
- 1:22:12Speaker 6: the execution.
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: Yeah. No, me neither.
- 1:22:15Speaker 10: I want to make them real.
- 1:22:16Speaker 3: Make women real.
- 1:22:17Speaker 6: I would be on board with the idea, especially if
- 1:22:20Speaker 6: they start killing.
- 1:22:21Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:22:22Speaker 10: Other women in really horrible, horrible ways.
- 1:22:27Speaker 25: It's like fights wouldn't you rather watch two women fight
- 1:22:29Speaker 25: than two men fight men fight the same way they
- 1:22:31Speaker 25: throw punches you know women do all we.
- 1:22:34Speaker 10: Have to do all kinds of other things yes.
- 1:22:37Speaker 25: Women are psycho so that's what I'm working on now
- 1:22:44Speaker 25: and then I'm about to this year I'm just in
- 1:22:48Speaker 25: the middle of doing Late to Rest 2 with Rob
- 1:22:49Speaker 25: Hall who's a good buddy of mine the script is
- 1:22:51Speaker 25: awesome so it's fun to be in that you know
- 1:22:53Speaker 25: chrome skulls back in action Um, I finished a movie
- 1:22:57Speaker 25: called The Victim with Michael Biehn and Jennifer Blanc, who
- 1:23:00Speaker 25: are my buddies.
- 1:23:01Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:23:01Speaker 25: And, um, I'm about to go do a movie called, uh,
- 1:23:04Speaker 25: Shiver with John Jarrett. And, uh, based on a novel
- 1:23:07Speaker 25: that is, this script is just fantastic. It's like a
- 1:23:10Speaker 25: logical thriller. It's not a horror slasher film.
- 1:23:13Speaker 6: That's a fine line.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: Yeah, it is.
- 1:23:15Speaker 10: This is definitely a fine line.
- 1:23:17Speaker 25: And then I'm going to do a movie with my
- 1:23:21Speaker 25: buddy William Forsythe next year up in Rhode Island called
- 1:23:25Speaker 25: New Blood.
- 1:23:25Speaker 9: He's great.
- 1:23:26Speaker 6: We talked to him like a year or so ago.
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: He's amazing.
- 1:23:28Speaker 10: I mean, he wrote this and is directing it.
- 1:23:30Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 1:23:31Speaker 10: And he's also in it, and I'm his star.
- 1:23:33Speaker 25: He wrote it with me in mind, which is a
- 1:23:35Speaker 25: huge honor because, you know, Bill doesn't really like many actors, so.
- 1:23:40Speaker 10: I'm honored to have him like me as much as
- 1:23:43Speaker 10: he does.
- 1:23:44Speaker 3: He's a huge, huge... He's an impressive guy.
- 1:23:46Speaker 25: Yeah, so I'm bringing my A-game because there's nothing... I
- 1:23:48Speaker 25: can't bring any less when I work with him.
- 1:23:50Speaker 3: I think he would draw that out of you anyway.
- 1:23:53Speaker 25: Oh, yeah, which is why I want to do it.
- 1:23:56Speaker 25: And so that's... It's sort of an eyes wide shut
- 1:23:58Speaker 25: kind of vampire.
- 1:24:00Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 1:24:02Speaker 25: Really beautifully written and... hardcore and uh the story's great
- 1:24:10Speaker 25: and it's just uh you know this this is this
- 1:24:13Speaker 25: is a big deal for him so i'm glad.
- 1:24:15Speaker 3: To be to be a part of that definitely interested
- 1:24:17Speaker 3: in that sounds good.
- 1:24:19Speaker 25: And still working on horror gal you know working on
- 1:24:21Speaker 25: getting getting that going it's i have to stop working
- 1:24:23Speaker 25: long enough to be able.
- 1:24:24Speaker 6: To do it we have a banner up on the
- 1:24:26Speaker 6: site but that's all it is i just have it
- 1:24:29Speaker 6: i have your coming soon banner up there.
- 1:24:31Speaker 25: So i just don't want to i can't I can't
- 1:24:34Speaker 25: do it until it's done right, you know?
- 1:24:36Speaker 3: It's a lot to deal with.
- 1:24:38Speaker 25: Yes.
- 1:24:38Speaker 3: I'm, like, lucky to update ours every six months or something.
- 1:24:40Speaker 25: Yeah, that's how I feel, too.
- 1:24:42Speaker 3: It's so much to deal with.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:24:45Speaker 10: I barely have time to, like, go.
- 1:24:46Speaker 5: To a movie.
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: And it takes, yeah, I mean, so much time. Just
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: everything is so plodding.
- 1:24:51Speaker 25: And, you know, it's like, for example, going, you know,
- 1:24:54Speaker 25: both these movies that I'm doing now, I'm going to
- 1:24:56Speaker 25: be gone.
- 1:24:56Speaker 10: I leave after Thanksgiving. I come back the end of December.
- 1:24:59Speaker 22: Yeah.
- 1:25:00Speaker 25: The 21st or 22nd, so I'll have, what, four or
- 1:25:02Speaker 25: five days to, like, enjoy myself. And then January 3rd
- 1:25:07Speaker 25: or 4th, I think I'm going to Rhode Island for.
- 1:25:09Speaker 10: Another five weeks.
- 1:25:10Speaker 25: So when am I going to do work in a
- 1:25:12Speaker 25: 16-hour day and come home at, you know, 8 in
- 1:25:14Speaker 25: the morning after working nights and get online and update
- 1:25:17Speaker 25: Horror Gal?
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: You need to just stop slacking off.
- 1:25:19Speaker 6: I know.
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: I can only do so much.
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: But I am working on it.
- 1:25:23Speaker 8: I am.
- 1:25:23Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:25:26Speaker 16: Oh, man.
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: I guess Hatchet 2, where do you find that?
- 1:25:29Speaker 25: Hatchet 2, you know, we got pulled, so it's now
- 1:25:32Speaker 25: the forbidden fruit, you know, when you guys see it.
- 1:25:34Speaker 25: And I just beg these listeners to please, please, please
- 1:25:37Speaker 25: don't download it and watch it on your damn computer
- 1:25:40Speaker 25: from someone that brought a freaking video camera into the theater.
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: I mean... Those look horrible anyway.
- 1:25:45Speaker 10: I mean, it's horrible.
- 1:25:47Speaker 25: So, probably video on demand as well as DVD. I
- 1:25:51Speaker 25: think Adam Green said 90 days from when it was released,
- 1:25:54Speaker 25: which should bring us to the first week of January.
- 1:25:56Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:25:56Speaker 25: And then Stakeland will come out in February, which is,
- 1:25:59Speaker 25: you know, such a huge deal.
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: Good, too.
- 1:26:01Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:26:01Speaker 25: Jim Mickles, just an amazing director, writer, with Nick D'Amici,
- 1:26:06Speaker 25: and it looks stunning. I mean, shit, we won, you know,
- 1:26:09Speaker 25: the Audience Choice Award in Toronto Film Festival for Midnight Madness,
- 1:26:12Speaker 25: which is huge.
- 1:26:13Speaker 10: We're up against some huge movies.
- 1:26:16Speaker 16: So.
- 1:26:17Speaker 10: It's a little movie that could. And it's kicking ass.
- 1:26:21Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:26:21Speaker 10: So I'm stoked about that.
- 1:26:22Speaker 25: And then I just did some facial capture stuff for
- 1:26:25Speaker 25: Night of the Living Dead, The Origins, that Tony Todd
- 1:26:27Speaker 25: and Bill Moseley and I are in.
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: You're involved in some good stuff, actually. Yeah.
- 1:26:32Speaker 10: It's funny because people have asked me since Halloween, too, like,
- 1:26:35Speaker 10: what have you done? Or whatever. And it's like, oh,
- 1:26:37Speaker 10: my God. I've been working so much.
- 1:26:39Speaker 25: Everything takes time to come out. So people don't really
- 1:26:44Speaker 25: understand that.
- 1:26:44Speaker 10: So give it some time. But by this time next year,
- 1:26:48Speaker 10: everything will be out.
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: Everything will hit. You'll be overwhelmed.
- 1:26:51Speaker 6: Yes, hopefully. Oh, the only thing I wanted to ask,
- 1:26:54Speaker 6: and this was based on last week, because I ran
- 1:26:56Speaker 6: into you in passing last week. And then I'd say
- 1:26:59Speaker 6: if my sources are correct, but I think my sources
- 1:27:01Speaker 6: are you.
- 1:27:02Speaker 3: What happened with the sheriff's car in Kentucky last week?
- 1:27:06Speaker 25: I'm obsessed with cop shows. I mean, I love the
- 1:27:09Speaker 25: first 48. I love 48 Hours.
- 1:27:10Speaker 12: I love.
- 1:27:15Speaker 10: To catch a predator. I mean, I love all of.
- 1:27:18Speaker 25: These, like, real autopsy and Dr.
- 1:27:21Speaker 10: G medicine or medical examiner. I mean, I don't know.
- 1:27:25Speaker 10: I think it's cool.
- 1:27:26Speaker 25: So, that being said, if I was not an actress,
- 1:27:28Speaker 25: I probably would do something.
- 1:27:30Speaker 10: Like be a homicide detective.
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: Yep.
- 1:27:33Speaker 25: Which is why, I mean, maybe it's from doing movies
- 1:27:35Speaker 25: as serial killers that I'm all about it.
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: It's warped your brain.
- 1:27:38Speaker 10: I think it has.
- 1:27:40Speaker 25: So, I set up a ride-along with the sheriff. who
- 1:27:45Speaker 25: is just awesome, awesome, awesome. And I went to the
- 1:27:51Speaker 25: forensics unit and went to the canine unit and.
- 1:27:55Speaker 10: Saw how they train the dogs. I saw all the dogs.
- 1:27:57Speaker 10: They're really scary.
- 1:27:58Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:28:00Speaker 10: I'm a dog lover, but oh, my God.
- 1:28:02Speaker 25: When they were jumping eight feet in the air and
- 1:28:04Speaker 25: spinning in circles in their cage, I thought, And I
- 1:28:06Speaker 25: said to one of the cops, I said, do they
- 1:28:08Speaker 25: ever get out on, you know?
- 1:28:10Speaker 10: And he's like, oh, yeah.
- 1:28:11Speaker 6: I'm like, oh, great, mom.
- 1:28:12Speaker 3: Sometimes.
- 1:28:12Speaker 11: Oh, my God.
- 1:28:13Speaker 3: You were wearing the giant suit at that point, right?
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: Jesus.
- 1:28:17Speaker 6: No.
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 1:28:18Speaker 9: I could never.
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 1:28:22Speaker 25: And then, you know, did a little eating beef jerky,
- 1:28:25Speaker 25: stopped at the little, you know, gas station until.
- 1:28:29Speaker 10: 3 in the morning and.
- 1:28:30Speaker 25: I just ran around and hung out and looked for hookers.
- 1:28:35Speaker 10: In the snow.
- 1:28:36Speaker 25: And it was just really cool. I mean, that's something
- 1:28:39Speaker 25: that for them, they're over it by now, you know.
- 1:28:43Speaker 25: They said basically after two years, I wouldn't want to
- 1:28:45Speaker 25: be a cop anymore if I decided to be one.
- 1:28:46Speaker 25: And I was like, well, this is so much more
- 1:28:48Speaker 25: interesting than what I do for a living.
- 1:28:51Speaker 10: Which they beg to differ.
- 1:28:52Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm sure everybody has a different perspective.
- 1:28:54Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:28:54Speaker 25: I mean, it'd be cool to have, like, if I
- 1:28:56Speaker 25: can get all of them to come to a set
- 1:28:58Speaker 25: of mine.
- 1:28:58Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:28:59Speaker 25: And maybe when I direct a movie, I'll have them
- 1:29:01Speaker 25: all be extras or something.
- 1:29:02Speaker 3: There you go.
- 1:29:03Speaker 10: Not play cops.
- 1:29:04Speaker 3: Technical advisors. Yes!
- 1:29:06Speaker 5: That's what you need.
- 1:29:06Speaker 10: Technical advisors. Ooh, you just got it.
- 1:29:11Speaker 15: Perfect.
- 1:29:11Speaker 10: Didn't even think about that.
- 1:29:12Speaker 6: There you go.
- 1:29:13Speaker 9: See?
- 1:29:14Speaker 3: But, yeah, I just, yeah, I saw that listed there.
- 1:29:16Speaker 3: I was like, okay, that's a story. I think we
- 1:29:18Speaker 3: need to figure out what's going on there. Hookers in
- 1:29:20Speaker 3: the snow. Hookers in the snow. Oh, man. But I
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: guess that was it.
- 1:29:25Speaker 25: I try to fit in some fun when I travel.
- 1:29:27Speaker 25: I work so much. I try to, you know, do
- 1:29:29Speaker 25: a couple of fun things when I'm away.
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: Especially these. You're stuck in a weird city for a
- 1:29:32Speaker 3: couple of days.
- 1:29:33Speaker 10: Well, you don't ever get outside.
- 1:29:35Speaker 25: I actually got a car then, and I was going
- 1:29:37Speaker 25: to do a little bourbon crawl, bourbon trail crawl.
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:29:40Speaker 25: You know, because you're like, well, what am I going
- 1:29:42Speaker 25: to get a car for if I'm just going to
- 1:29:43Speaker 25: be in my hotel room?
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:29:45Speaker 10: And, you know, I try to bring friends when I can.
- 1:29:48Speaker 10: At least make it fun. Make it an event.
- 1:29:51Speaker 25: Yes.
- 1:29:51Speaker 10: Otherwise, I'm in my room watching Julia Roberts Marathon's ordering steak,
- 1:29:55Speaker 10: which is also good.
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: It's better than some of the other alternatives.
- 1:29:58Speaker 9: Yes.
- 1:29:58Speaker 6: I've heard some scary stories about these places. Oh, really?
- 1:30:01Speaker 3: That's why I went to sleep last night.
- 1:30:03Speaker 7: Oh, no.
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: Things going on, I don't need to know.
- 1:30:05Speaker 11: Oh, no, no.
- 1:30:06Speaker 10: Yeah, I can't watch any of that stuff. But I
- 1:30:08Speaker 10: am looking forward to walking around now. I'm going to
- 1:30:11Speaker 10: go buy a stun gun, actually.
- 1:30:12Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:30:12Speaker 3: I saw those yesterday.
- 1:30:14Speaker 10: I've been hearing them.
- 1:30:15Speaker 6: I've been hearing them, and then I think they were
- 1:30:16Speaker 6: testing them out on people.
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: Fantastic. That should be interesting.
- 1:30:19Speaker 10: Maybe they'll let me test it out on you.
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 1:30:22Speaker 10: Just kidding.
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: I'm usually game for most people. I'm sure I deserve
- 1:30:26Speaker 3: it for something. I would never. Oh, man.
- 1:30:30Speaker 6: But, yeah, I heard them over there testing them, so
- 1:30:34Speaker 6: it should be interesting.
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: Well, that was fun.
- 1:30:37Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:30:38Speaker 10: Definitely.
- 1:30:39Speaker 3: Thanks for joining in.
- 1:30:41Speaker 31: Together we're going a long, long way. In time there
- 1:30:51Speaker 31: are Geese may crumble, Gibraltar may tumble, baby, they're only
- 1:30:58Speaker 31: made of clay. Oh, but our love is here.
- 1:31:06Speaker 7: Oh, our love is here.
- 1:31:11Speaker 31: Our love is here to stay.
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: In 2007 director adam green brought us hatchet the return
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: of the great american slasher and the birth of horror's
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: newest villain victor crowley.
- 1:31:57Speaker 33: Old-school American horror with buckets and buckets and buckets.
- 1:32:07Speaker 3: Of blood.
- 1:32:09Speaker 33: But American theaters saw a censored version of the film. Now,
- 1:32:14Speaker 33: in 2010, Victor Crowley returns to the big screen in
- 1:32:19Speaker 33: the ultimate slasher sequel, Hatchet 2. And for the first
- 1:32:25Speaker 33: time in over 25 years, a horror film is coming
- 1:32:28Speaker 33: to major cinemas uncensored.
- 1:32:33Speaker 7: Uncut.
- 1:32:37Speaker 33: Uncompromised. Gore like you've never seen in the theater before.
- 1:32:50Speaker 33: More deaths. More carnage. More Crowley.
- 1:32:58Speaker 14: Adam Green's Hatchet 2.
- 1:33:08Speaker 33: Hatchet 2.
- 1:33:25Speaker 13: This part is old and uninviting Participants all in black
- 1:33:55Speaker 13: and white You enter in full-blown technicolour Nothing is the
- 1:34:06Speaker 13: same after.
- 1:34:08Speaker 7: Tonight The world could fall apart in a fiction-worthy wind.
- 1:34:17Speaker 7: I wouldn't change.
- 1:34:20Speaker 14: A thing now that you're here. Your love is.
- 1:34:25Speaker 3: A bird here in my room.
- 1:34:27Speaker 4: Here in my room.
- 1:34:28Speaker 7: Here in my room.
- 1:34:49Speaker 6: Alright, so it is Sunday morning. We're now hanging around,
- 1:34:53Speaker 6: sort of attempting to restructure this room. No structural damage.
- 1:35:02Speaker 4: I already like rock stars. By rock stars you.
- 1:35:06Speaker 6: Mean like what? Like the Grateful Dead rock stars? The
- 1:35:11Speaker 6: actual dead versions of them? Oh yeah, that's kind of
- 1:35:15Speaker 6: how we roll.
- 1:35:17Speaker 26: The problem is the great bounty of snacks that nobody wants.
- 1:35:22Speaker 26: I should just go out and hug the maid. I
- 1:35:24Speaker 26: could tip her in food.
- 1:35:26Speaker 6: Please take these Doritos. Thank you. It was interesting.
- 1:35:31Speaker 4: It was something.
- 1:35:32Speaker 6: I want to apologize to all the other people that
- 1:35:36Speaker 6: were hanging out here that we didn't bother to interact with.
- 1:35:40Speaker 6: At least Misty and I are on social.
- 1:35:41Speaker 7: I'm incredibly on social.
- 1:35:43Speaker 6: Marlena, when she woke up, was quite social.
- 1:35:46Speaker 4: Yeah, she didn't want anything to do with anybody in
- 1:35:48Speaker 4: her room until they left. Then she's like, oh, take
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: me with you. That's not why.
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: Come on.
- 1:35:55Speaker 4: You saw me.
- 1:35:56Speaker 9: I curled up in a little ball, and I slept
- 1:35:58Speaker 9: for about five minutes, and then I shot straight up,
- 1:36:00Speaker 9: and I was like, I'm ready to go.
- 1:36:03Speaker 4: Let's do this.
- 1:36:05Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 1:36:06Speaker 6: So, yeah, that's just how we usually operate, actually. There's
- 1:36:10Speaker 6: even more window into our usual goings-on. That's the most
- 1:36:14Speaker 6: active we are for a week, really.
- 1:36:16Speaker 26: You have to play hard to get to hold Marlena's interest.
- 1:36:19Speaker 26: I think that's what it comes down to.
- 1:36:21Speaker 6: Or just be there right when she wakes up. Ouch.
- 1:36:26Speaker 6: Once you catch her after the power nap, it's all good. But,
- 1:36:29Speaker 6: you know, when she's sleepy, you're in trouble. Yes, I'm
- 1:36:32Speaker 6: always sleepy.
- 1:36:34Speaker 4: I pretty much always want nothing to do with anybody else.
- 1:36:37Speaker 26: I like the part where Misty was getting really tired
- 1:36:39Speaker 26: and there were too many people in the room and
- 1:36:40Speaker 26: her eye kind of cracked open like a crocodile on
- 1:36:43Speaker 26: the far end of a swamp. And I was thinking
- 1:36:46Speaker 26: tomorrow morning there's going to be a horrific stain on
- 1:36:47Speaker 26: the floor and a chalk outline and cops in here.
- 1:36:50Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:36:50Speaker 6: I think somebody picked up that image. Let's all go now.
- 1:36:54Speaker 4: Let's go somewhere else. I have that effect on people.
- 1:36:58Speaker 4: I make people want to go other places.
- 1:37:00Speaker 6: Yeah, I think I was joining in on that. They
- 1:37:02Speaker 6: were just like, are you okay? I'm like, I don't know.
- 1:37:05Speaker 6: I'm just staring at this Rolling Stone cover. How many
- 1:37:08Speaker 6: times did I read, you know, Conan's back?
- 1:37:11Speaker 4: I think Marlena had that check once to make sure
- 1:37:13Speaker 4: I was still alive.
- 1:37:15Speaker 9: He was staring blankly and not moving.
- 1:37:18Speaker 4: It was creepy. That's what I do.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 1:37:23Speaker 6: But yes, if nothing else, we want to thank Mr.
- 1:37:26Speaker 6: Randy here for letting us crash in his room here. Thanks, Randy.
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: It's great.
- 1:37:31Speaker 26: The internet told me that Chuck Norris wouldn't have made
- 1:37:35Speaker 26: it through the night in here. Not that I'm... I
- 1:37:38Speaker 26: hate those analogies, come to think of it.
- 1:37:41Speaker 6: Chuck Norris related or otherwise?
- 1:37:42Speaker 7: Yes, Chuck Norris related.
- 1:37:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I've given up on that. Actually, I don't think
- 1:37:45Speaker 6: I was ever on board with those.
- 1:37:47Speaker 4: Why specifically would Chuck Norris not survive the night in here?
- 1:37:50Speaker 4: Because we're... Is he a redhead or because he has
- 1:37:51Speaker 4: a beard?
- 1:37:53Speaker 6: I don't think originally he was a red.
- 1:37:55Speaker 4: It all depends on what... It's got reddish tinted hair.
- 1:37:58Speaker 26: It depends on whatever they staple to his bald scalp.
- 1:38:00Speaker 6: Yeah, really.
- 1:38:03Speaker 4: Oh, man.
- 1:38:04Speaker 8: Are there specific reasons as to why Chuck Norris would
- 1:38:06Speaker 8: not survive?
- 1:38:07Speaker 6: Because we're vicious and evil. We are.
- 1:38:11Speaker 4: I'm not vicious and evil. I'm like a cute kitten.
- 1:38:15Speaker 6: It was entertaining this morning when you got all your
- 1:38:19Speaker 6: plastic army men's and whatnot out after you woke up
- 1:38:22Speaker 6: and laid them out on the bed.
- 1:38:24Speaker 9: I had to organize and figure out which ones I
- 1:38:26Speaker 9: had and what color and what.
- 1:38:30Speaker 8: service they were in I had the army guys I
- 1:38:33Speaker 8: had the firefighters and.
- 1:38:35Speaker 4: I had the police officers and I had Indians and
- 1:38:38Speaker 4: I had some.
- 1:38:38Speaker 26: Cowboys if we could ever get socialized medicine you could
- 1:38:41Speaker 26: get medication to clear that up awesome.
- 1:38:44Speaker 6: No she was dividing them up into ranks I understood
- 1:38:49Speaker 6: I was excited by it.
- 1:38:50Speaker 4: And then I had to organize my collar and shape.
- 1:38:52Speaker 4: And job skill.
- 1:38:53Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 1:38:54Speaker 6: So, yes, this was all laid out on the bed
- 1:38:56Speaker 6: this morning while Marley was still sleeping.
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: My favorite's the firefighter who has an axe. He'll hear
- 1:39:00Speaker 4: I kill somebody.
- 1:39:02Speaker 6: This is what happens when you get 40 skee-ball toys.
- 1:39:06Speaker 4: I had 34 because the bitch couldn't count and it
- 1:39:08Speaker 4: worked out in my favor.
- 1:39:09Speaker 6: She couldn't count because she ripped me off.
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: If you have.
- 1:39:11Speaker 5: 70 tickets and the army guys are five tickets apiece,
- 1:39:15Speaker 5: how many army guys do you get?
- 1:39:17Speaker 4: You get 35. I can't even count because I got 34.
- 1:39:21Speaker 6: Nobody involved in this has any math skills, which is
- 1:39:24Speaker 6: why I got two for my, like, 30 tickets. I
- 1:39:27Speaker 6: got scammed.
- 1:39:28Speaker 4: I got your army with me.
- 1:39:30Speaker 6: But I got a giant one, and he came with
- 1:39:32Speaker 6: a saw.
- 1:39:33Speaker 4: You guys want to play Gulliver's Travels or something?
- 1:39:35Speaker 6: Probably. I can lay the other ones around him. I
- 1:39:38Speaker 6: do have one that looks like he's possibly Hitler. I
- 1:39:40Speaker 6: don't know. He's doing some sort of goose step move.
- 1:39:42Speaker 6: That was of the two I got, one of them.
- 1:39:44Speaker 3: That's funny.
- 1:39:45Speaker 6: You say he's running. I don't know. He's doing a
- 1:39:47Speaker 6: little Heil motion, if you ask me.
- 1:39:49Speaker 4: He's running fast.
- 1:39:50Speaker 6: He's just a soldier. Could be a German soldier. World
- 1:39:53Speaker 6: War II. We don't know, you know.
- 1:39:56Speaker 5: Oh, Lord.
- 1:39:58Speaker 6: Any other activities for the week here?
- 1:40:01Speaker 26: I really, I got to go downstairs because everyone's down
- 1:40:05Speaker 26: there waiting.
- 1:40:05Speaker 18: Blah, blah, blah.
- 1:40:06Speaker 33: We're supposed to, you know, gentleman's guide, Will and Fish.
- 1:40:11Speaker 6: Those guys.
- 1:40:12Speaker 7: Those guys.
- 1:40:12Speaker 6: Those guys.
- 1:40:13Speaker 4: Leaving for Canada.
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:40:15Speaker 26: So if you want to sneak anything back across the
- 1:40:17Speaker 26: Canadian border, now's our chance.
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 1:40:21Speaker 6: Except for the ones that were here last night. We
- 1:40:23Speaker 6: love those guys.
- 1:40:24Speaker 4: I know, I want to talk shit about Canada, but
- 1:40:26Speaker 4: I can't. That's where my favorites come from, dude, seriously.
- 1:40:30Speaker 9: Mark Singer, Corey Haynes, fucking Shatner, Big Wolf on campus,
- 1:40:34Speaker 9: Are You Afraid of the Dark?
- 1:40:36Speaker 4: I can't hate Canada, but I still want to talk shit.
- 1:40:38Speaker 5: About the nursery.
- 1:40:39Speaker 6: Yeah, well, that's kind of our place in the world.
- 1:40:41Speaker 6: I used to live in the Canadians.
- 1:40:43Speaker 9: And we were having a party, and someone was talking
- 1:40:45Speaker 9: to her, and she's like, I've never met a racist
- 1:40:48Speaker 9: person before.
- 1:40:48Speaker 4: I'm like, Canada's so magical.
- 1:40:50Speaker 9: Like, Canada, in my mind, if unicorns were to exist
- 1:40:54Speaker 9: in the world, it would be in Canada.
- 1:40:56Speaker 4: I know it exists here because it would fucking hunt
- 1:40:58Speaker 4: them and mount their heads.
- 1:40:59Speaker 6: That's true. You would have one on your wall right now.
- 1:41:02Speaker 4: I'd be going around with my little magical horn. I
- 1:41:04Speaker 4: just feel like Canada isn't some amazing, beautiful place. How
- 1:41:09Speaker 4: does this shit happen?
- 1:41:11Speaker 6: It happens every time. That's why I turn it on.
- 1:41:15Speaker 6: That's why we got microphones, for God's sakes. All you
- 1:41:17Speaker 6: have to do is turn it on and random crazy
- 1:41:19Speaker 6: talk begins.
- 1:41:20Speaker 4: You don't even have to turn it on. That shit's
- 1:41:21Speaker 4: going to happen anyways.
- 1:41:21Speaker 16: Well, it does.
- 1:41:22Speaker 6: Yeah, we missed a good portion of crazy talk earlier.
- 1:41:25Speaker 4: You missed your story that involved the Ikea catalog.
- 1:41:27Speaker 6: No, that was awesome. I think... You can't have a story. See,
- 1:41:32Speaker 6: that's why I don't need to get drunk. I mean,
- 1:41:33Speaker 6: that was all sober. I sat here and came up
- 1:41:36Speaker 6: with a 40-page tale... I took the Ikea catalog, and
- 1:41:40Speaker 6: I decided because.
- 1:41:41Speaker 9: A tale of troubles and woes and hardships.
- 1:41:44Speaker 6: Marlena said she didn't have a book to read, and
- 1:41:45Speaker 6: I was like, hey, you've got this Ikea catalog here,
- 1:41:48Speaker 6: and it has a story built right in. So the
- 1:41:50Speaker 6: kid on the cover is this little kid with crazy
- 1:41:52Speaker 6: cool hair, so I decided it was about him because
- 1:41:54Speaker 6: he was on the cover. And then each page I
- 1:41:56Speaker 6: turned it to, and there was a new entry into
- 1:41:58Speaker 6: what was going on in his life.
- 1:41:59Speaker 4: He got kidnapped.
- 1:42:01Speaker 6: He got kidnapped.
- 1:42:01Speaker 4: By Judd Nelson's cousin.
- 1:42:03Speaker 6: No, Judd Nelson's cousin had a creepy... Well, it was
- 1:42:06Speaker 6: being creepy around a little girl... And then later there
- 1:42:09Speaker 6: was a baby that got kidnapped. And then that kid
- 1:42:11Speaker 6: ended up back with his mom. And then his sister
- 1:42:15Speaker 6: was on the floor and he stepped on her because
- 1:42:16Speaker 6: he didn't like his sister. This was a pretty exciting tale.
- 1:42:19Speaker 4: I'm going to go downstairs and check out.
- 1:42:21Speaker 26: You guys can stay up here and I'll check back
- 1:42:23Speaker 26: in with you once.
- 1:42:24Speaker 6: I've run downstairs. Chasing away even our favorite listeners. No,
- 1:42:30Speaker 6: you're just, it's an Iron Man competition and I think
- 1:42:33Speaker 6: I'm Aluminum Man. So I'll see you guys in.
- 1:42:36Speaker 18: A little bit.
- 1:42:36Speaker 26: I just need to get the ball rolling on this.
- 1:42:39Speaker 6: Goodbye, listeners.
- 1:42:41Speaker 26: I can be unseated by anybody with an email account
- 1:42:44Speaker 26: and the ability to type a sentence and press the
- 1:42:47Speaker 26: word send.
- 1:42:48Speaker 6: Trust me. Well, thank you once again for letting us
- 1:42:54Speaker 6: conduct our show somewhat out of this room.
- 1:42:59Speaker 4: We do what we can.
- 1:43:03Speaker 6: Anything else whilst we're in the room? I don't believe
- 1:43:07Speaker 6: we've stolen anything. We didn't steal this waffle blanket that
- 1:43:09Speaker 6: they gave us.
- 1:43:10Speaker 8: Or the fucking heater blanket that weighs like 38 pounds
- 1:43:15Speaker 8: and I'm pretty sure involves like 98 geese.
- 1:43:18Speaker 4: I don't know what the fuck's in that blanket. It's
- 1:43:20Speaker 4: like putting that... It's like calling it a heater. I
- 1:43:23Speaker 4: didn't like it.
- 1:43:24Speaker 21: Oh, all right.
- 1:43:28Speaker 6: I guess we will wrap it up in the room
- 1:43:29Speaker 6: here and maybe we'll check in further down the road.
- 1:43:33Speaker 3: No.
- 1:43:33Speaker 4: Don't be shy. Just let your.
- 1:43:36Speaker 7: Feelings roll on by.

- 1:44:08Speaker 3: And now, on with the show.
- 1:44:14Speaker 6: Alright, we're back on the road after a nutritious breakfast
- 1:44:17Speaker 6: of pancakes and grits and eggs and I don't even
- 1:44:22Speaker 6: know what else we had. We had quite a few
- 1:44:24Speaker 6: healthy items for breakfast this morning and But otherwise, we
- 1:44:27Speaker 6: want to say thanks to everybody at Whorehound Weekend for
- 1:44:30Speaker 6: putting up with us, especially Randy, who was quite the
- 1:44:32Speaker 6: trooper to deal with us all weekend long there. Otherwise,
- 1:44:37Speaker 6: thanks again to Dean, Danielle, and all of our Palover friends,
- 1:44:41Speaker 6: most of which we just met for the first time today.

- 1:44:56Speaker 6: Future Events.
- 1:44:57Speaker 3: Set your pins to V2. Here is the master.
- 1:45:01Speaker 6: We're working on several projects here. If you'd like to
- 1:45:04Speaker 6: play along, we're considering putting together a Thanksgiving episode centered
- 1:45:10Speaker 6: around the wonderful Thanksgiving festivities. That is yet to be
- 1:45:13Speaker 6: seen if we piece together something to go along with
- 1:45:16Speaker 6: that sinister meal in the works. But we'll see. Other
- 1:45:21Speaker 6: than that, I would also go ahead and throw on
- 1:45:24Speaker 6: the queue the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. We may be
- 1:45:28Speaker 6: discussing that in the near future and potentially with another
- 1:45:32Speaker 6: special guest. Otherwise, that about does it. We will return
