- 3:17Speaker 2: the game we'll talk about today Oklahoma Michigan at Oklahoma.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Big game, massive game, not only for myself but the
- 3:23Speaker 2: entire country. Some people are sick it's bigger than Texas
- 3:25Speaker 2: Ohio state people. Some people are actually saying that. I
- 3:28Speaker 2: don't know if you heard. We'll also be streaming that
- 3:30Speaker 2: game that is at seven thirty eastern onto the show

- 3:53Speaker 1: out fandel dot com, slash RG or the responsible Gaming
- 3:56Speaker 1: section and that to learn more about staying in control
- 4:00Speaker 1: of your game.
- 4:00Speaker 2: It took all of me to stay in control.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yeah, the bleeding that was happening over the weekend for myself.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I can't do it for him.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I thought I was seeing the field, the picks were there,
- 4:11Speaker 1: But I can't get inside their bodies and play for them.
- 4:14Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Now?
- 4:14Speaker 3: When I say I don't make wrong picks. My picks
- 4:17Speaker 3: are right, except if kids or coaches are officials screw up.
- 4:21Speaker 3: How am I supposed to be responsible for a kid
- 4:23Speaker 3: screwing up or a coach or an official screwing up.
- 4:25Speaker 3: We can't throw the ball for him. We're standing there
- 4:27Speaker 3: at Texas Ohio State. We can't throw the ball for him.
- 4:30Speaker 1: How do you stay poised and in the pocket, Josh
- 4:32Speaker 1: Pate when we're talking about screwing up of preseason? Josh Pate,
- 4:37Speaker 1: this is maybe you might have said, don't quote me
- 4:41Speaker 1: on this, but maybe this was your quote.
- 4:42Speaker 2: This is the nastiest Alabama team I've ever seen.
- 4:45Speaker 1: This is going to be a beyond, far and away
- 4:47Speaker 1: the national champion this year. And then they go and
- 4:49Speaker 1: lay a guse to the point where even the computers
- 4:52Speaker 1: are trying to delete the film.
- 4:53Speaker 3: Yeah, well, are you suggesting Week one wasn't nasty?
- 4:57Speaker 2: Week one was.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Nasty, very nasty. Feel like I nailed that one. I
- 5:00Speaker 3: got no clue. I got nothing for you. I got
- 5:01Speaker 3: no clue. We were at the Ohio State game. I
- 5:05Speaker 3: was driving home, so the game's on, but I'm listening
- 5:08Speaker 3: to it. So I'm listening to Joe Tests lay out
- 5:11Speaker 3: a magnificent generational call. By the way, ger three buttons
- 5:14Speaker 3: undone on the button down with the gold chain in
- 5:16Speaker 3: the booth. Unfortunately, production got in his ear and he
- 5:18Speaker 3: had to button a couple of them, but Alabama came
- 5:21Speaker 3: completely unbuttoned. Yeah, I had no clue that was coming.
- 5:23Speaker 3: That's just a whiff on my part. Now eleven games
- 5:25Speaker 3: left to go, mathematically, and only mathematically. They're still alive.
- 5:30Speaker 3: My predictions still alive, but they got to go to
- 5:32Speaker 3: Georgia in less than a month. So don't feel great
- 5:35Speaker 3: about it right now. But crazier things have happened. Not
- 5:39Speaker 3: much crazier, but crazier things have happened.
- 5:41Speaker 2: If we were able to time travel and get back
- 5:42Speaker 2: a couple of weeks where we're making our preseason predictions,
- 5:46Speaker 2: are you still going with Alabama?
- 5:47Speaker 3: There's nothing that I saw Saturday that made me say, oh,
- 5:51Speaker 3: in retrospect, I should have noticed that, so it would
- 5:54Speaker 3: be the exact same prediction. I'm dead serious.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Like it's something like what two scrimmages you said.
- 5:59Speaker 3: Seeing a practice know the program pretty intimately felt like
- 6:03Speaker 3: all the boxes were checked.
- 6:05Speaker 2: But he sat there, he said, he was sitting with
- 6:06Speaker 2: a scout going who's that there? Oh yeah, he'll be
- 6:08Speaker 2: a first time first. Like you got to understand when
- 6:11Speaker 2: you're talking about the secondary I was thinking.
- 6:12Speaker 3: About, so you understand when you go when you go
- 6:16Speaker 3: to an Alabama or a Georgia or an Ohio State
- 6:19Speaker 3: scrimmage or something like this, there are a bunch of
- 6:21Speaker 3: scouts there, a bunch of former coaches, there are a
- 6:23Speaker 3: bunch of former players there. So oftentimes you'll find yourself
- 6:26Speaker 3: standing on the sideline talking to half a dozen people who,
- 6:29Speaker 3: even if you know nothing about.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Ball, you know they know something about ball. Right It
- 6:33Speaker 2: was consensus.
- 6:34Speaker 3: It was everybody saying, this is pretty good looking team
- 6:37Speaker 3: right here, This has a chance to be a really
- 6:39Speaker 3: good looking team. Defense flying around pads, popping, and none
- 6:42Speaker 3: of that was exhibited Saturday. So you either ask yourself,
- 6:47Speaker 3: did your eyes just thoroughly lie to you? Or is
- 6:51Speaker 3: that a one off? But I don't think it's a
- 6:53Speaker 3: one off, because like some of the stuff that they
- 6:55Speaker 3: showed Saturday is it's not just misalignment, it's not just
- 6:59Speaker 3: dropping a ball. It's it's not just stuff that you
- 7:01Speaker 3: rectify and practice the next week. I don't think, Yeah,
- 7:05Speaker 3: I don't know where.
- 7:05Speaker 2: They got out coached. They out coached at every single
- 7:08Speaker 2: fast as. There was one drive. They had three different
- 7:12Speaker 2: plays that look the exact same with emotion, which ended
- 7:14Speaker 2: up being the jet that they took the left side
- 7:16Speaker 2: the field all the way down for like a forty
- 7:17Speaker 2: yard rushing touchdown. They set that up multiple times, watching
- 7:21Speaker 2: the safety ships from one side rotate over the linebackers
- 7:24Speaker 2: following the pulling garden tackle. They did that three or
- 7:26Speaker 2: four times, gaining two three yards and then busted forty
- 7:29Speaker 2: on them.
- 7:29Speaker 3: It was bad cause Jesse Palmer, I think, was doing
- 7:31Speaker 3: color on the game, and I'm not watching it live,
- 7:33Speaker 3: so I'm listening to it live. I've gone back and
- 7:35Speaker 3: watched it later. I've put myself through that several times.
- 7:37Speaker 3: But Jesse Palmer, there's almost this this inhale and depressed
- 7:42Speaker 3: exhale and he goes, Guys, it's the same play they've
- 7:45Speaker 3: already run two or three times. Guys, it's the same play.
- 7:48Speaker 3: I'm just putting it on the telestrator for you. But
- 7:50Speaker 3: if you've seen this before, it's cause you just saw
- 7:52Speaker 3: it like four minutes ago. They just ran the same
- 7:54Speaker 3: thing again. And I was listening to myself driving down
- 7:57Speaker 3: I sixty five, yelling what's happening? Am I'm missing? You
- 8:00Speaker 3: can't be watching it. That's irresponsible. So yeah, it's like
- 8:05Speaker 3: I don't know the.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Truth to everything that comes out.
- 8:08Speaker 1: But there are like some tweets surfacing about players having
- 8:12Speaker 1: door dash late at night like one.
- 8:14Speaker 2: In the morning, sneaking girls in the hotel.
- 8:17Speaker 1: One yeah, And if I if I, if I take
- 8:20Speaker 1: that at face value and I connect it with the
- 8:24Speaker 1: effort you see on the field. The only way this
- 8:27Speaker 1: gets turned around is if there is actual player leadership
- 8:32Speaker 1: in the locker room, Like if there's actual guys who
- 8:35Speaker 1: can stand up and say things and everybody kind of
- 8:38Speaker 1: listens and they start kind of gut checking themselves because
- 8:41Speaker 1: if not, you're gonna you're you're just in this world
- 8:43Speaker 1: where you have a loaded roster four and five star guys.
- 8:47Speaker 1: And if these guys are about their business the way
- 8:49Speaker 1: that face value is and the product that they put
- 8:52Speaker 1: out on film, like, it's just gonna get really bad.
- 8:54Speaker 1: And all these guys are not all of them, but
- 8:56Speaker 1: a lot of guys are just gonna transfer because they're
- 8:58Speaker 1: gonna think it's not them that's doing it there because
- 9:01Speaker 1: their ego is so big, so they're thinking, we're just
- 9:03Speaker 1: going to go somewhere else. But that is that was
- 9:06Speaker 1: the big concern, Like after the Alabama loss and all
- 9:09Speaker 1: the things, Oh Booster sent me this this tweet came
- 9:12Speaker 1: out here and they're trying to get to the bottom
- 9:14Speaker 1: of what's the culture like with the Boor and everything else.
- 9:17Speaker 2: So that was my that's kind of my like, uh
- 9:20Speaker 2: instinct on it. All. Yeah, things are spiraling and tuscaloser
- 9:24Speaker 2: and you don't have a guy like Nick Saban to
- 9:25Speaker 2: kind of everything rained in right right.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I'm not saying Debor can't do that, but you know,
- 9:30Speaker 1: when Saban's there, if that tweet comes out about you know,
- 9:33Speaker 1: the middle of the night, early morning, like, there's no
- 9:36Speaker 1: question that shit like that. One probably it's probably not true.
- 9:41Speaker 1: You're thinking, oh, this is probably not true because this
- 9:43Speaker 1: is a Nick Saban culture. But number two, he's going
- 9:46Speaker 1: to have this nipped in the buck because you know,
- 9:48Speaker 1: you see it year in and you're out for decades
- 9:50Speaker 1: that he handles business like that in house, and he
- 9:52Speaker 1: handles it fast and there's player leadership around it. It's
- 9:55Speaker 1: like when that stuff coming out with Kaelin de Boor,
- 9:57Speaker 1: It's like, I wonder what is going to come about this,
- 10:00Speaker 1: because if they don't get it turned around, he's going
- 10:02Speaker 1: to be standing on the sideline having the same kind
- 10:03Speaker 1: of cameos that they were showing throughout the game where
- 10:05Speaker 1: he's just kind of standing there, like, what are we
- 10:07Speaker 1: about to do?
- 10:08Speaker 3: I'll say one thing. One of my biggest takeaways. One
- 10:10Speaker 3: of the things I admired the most about Saving is
- 10:13Speaker 3: that place was a disaster sometimes of chaos behind the scenes,
- 10:18Speaker 3: and you never knew it because they kept winning. And
- 10:20Speaker 3: the point is you're talking about viewing it from the outside,
- 10:24Speaker 3: and it's ultra discipline, and it's ultra buttoned up, and
- 10:26Speaker 3: it's ultra intense, and there's a standard they're playing too.
- 10:30Speaker 3: What really happened was they understood how to keep the
- 10:32Speaker 3: main thing the main thing because they had trouble a lot.
- 10:35Speaker 3: They had off the field stuff happened due their coaching
- 10:37Speaker 3: staff was in turmoil a lot of the time, and
- 10:40Speaker 3: I used to you get a glimpse behind the curtain,
- 10:42Speaker 3: and what used to fascinate me the most is I
- 10:45Speaker 3: can't believe that this and this is going on with
- 10:47Speaker 3: this program behind the scenes and they look like what
- 10:49Speaker 3: they do on Saturday. But it's cause they kept the
- 10:51Speaker 3: main thing the main thing. And the one thing that
- 10:53Speaker 3: I noticed that's probably different now than when it was
- 10:56Speaker 3: under Saban is if you ever put the stuff on film,
- 10:59Speaker 3: that some of those put on film Saturday. You'd never
- 11:02Speaker 3: have to worry or fear the opponent. You don't have
- 11:04Speaker 3: to fear Nick Saban. You'd have to fear your guys
- 11:06Speaker 3: in the locker room. Some of the best fights I've
- 11:09Speaker 3: ever seen were Bama player versus Bama player on sidelines
- 11:12Speaker 3: during games. They're in Georgia about ten years ago. Now
- 11:16Speaker 3: they're up thirty eight to three. They give up a
- 11:18Speaker 3: touchdown and run to Chubb. Chubb had this like one
- 11:21Speaker 3: hundred yards per game streak going, and that touchdown and
- 11:24Speaker 3: run put him over that. And I saw Jaren Reid,
- 11:26Speaker 3: Ruben Foster going at it on the sideline. I saw
- 11:29Speaker 3: Jonathan Allen getting after someone as confetti was falling after
- 11:34Speaker 3: they beat Clemson in the National Title because they had
- 11:36Speaker 3: given up a garbage time touchdown. Coaches are having to
- 11:38Speaker 3: separate guys. They're up thirty eight three, they're won a
- 11:42Speaker 3: national title. In the other case, the season's over and
- 11:45Speaker 3: guys are about to kill each other if they don't
- 11:47Speaker 3: get separated.
- 11:48Speaker 2: And then you take that.
- 11:49Speaker 3: And put it in one monitor, and you take the
- 11:52Speaker 3: other day and put it in the other monitors. Look
- 11:53Speaker 3: at their sideline, look at it does any guy look
- 11:56Speaker 3: scared of the performance that he's turning in. I don't
- 11:59Speaker 3: care about them boosters one am due. People will be
- 12:01Speaker 3: shocked at what happens behind the scenes. It's the keeping
- 12:04Speaker 3: the main thing, the main thing.
- 12:05Speaker 2: Main thing.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Wasn't the main thing there Saturday. That's what I wonder.
- 12:08Speaker 3: Can you just turn a knob? They're still ultra talented,
- 12:11Speaker 3: They still I think, got a good staff, but you
- 12:14Speaker 3: know whatever, whatever getting the main thing back on track
- 12:16Speaker 3: is that knob turn. I don't know if it's as
- 12:18Speaker 3: simple as hey, guys, we had a player's only meeting.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Now it's all going to be good. Now we're focused.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Because if it really is that easy, why didn't you
- 12:25Speaker 3: do it before? And if it really does rectify itself
- 12:27Speaker 3: and you're a freight train out of control, I'll never
- 12:30Speaker 3: forget that that Week one result was real. It's in
- 12:32Speaker 3: the tank somewhere, So I can't trust you because it
- 12:36Speaker 3: may rear its head down the road. You got to
- 12:38Speaker 3: go on the road again. You got to go to Georgia. Eventually,
- 12:40Speaker 3: you got to go to on the road several more times,
- 12:42Speaker 3: like you're gonna get put in the blender. Eventually you're
- 12:44Speaker 3: gonna be down ten oh in the first quarter again. Eventually,
- 12:47Speaker 3: how do you respond? The only way to change is
- 12:50Speaker 3: to change it.
- 12:51Speaker 1: One thing that didn't get changed is your JP poll,
- 12:53Speaker 1: the number one that's true team in the country. You
- 12:56Speaker 1: still Texas is still there. I'm not going to say
- 12:58Speaker 1: you still got Texas there because you you're like you're
- 13:01Speaker 1: a separation from the model. Yes, viewers tuning in, explain
- 13:05Speaker 1: the JP the JP poll because again you got Texas
- 13:08Speaker 1: number one generational arm and the arch maning.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Allegedly yes, also explain that layer of separation between your
- 13:16Speaker 2: JP poll and you. Yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 3: Oh, The separation is I don't want to blame got you.
- 13:20Speaker 2: This is your this is your program, this is your thing.
- 13:23Speaker 2: This is just generated a whole bunch of so I.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Partner with the data scientists, like ten years ago, all
- 13:27Speaker 3: we wanted to do was create a predictive model. Every
- 13:30Speaker 3: odds maker has this, It's just that not many people
- 13:32Speaker 3: have shows where they display it. So all we wanted
- 13:35Speaker 3: to do is we wanted to have a predictive based
- 13:37Speaker 3: model that spits out a number on a game, same
- 13:40Speaker 3: as a point spread would be for FanDuel. We want
- 13:42Speaker 3: our own internal number. We use that number against the
- 13:45Speaker 3: market to bet. Every every odds maker, every handicapper largely
- 13:49Speaker 3: has one of those. So I put it out well,
- 13:51Speaker 3: the public has a portion of the public has no
- 13:54Speaker 3: clue how to interpret that. For example, Texas plays Ohio
- 13:57Speaker 3: State the other day, Texas gets stoned by Ohio State.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Gain them a lot of stuff like that, but they
- 14:01Speaker 3: lose all right. So if I were an AP voter,
- 14:03Speaker 3: I'd clearly have Ohio State ranked above Texas this week.
- 14:06Speaker 3: But in power ratings, Texas does not fall behind Ohio State.
- 14:09Speaker 3: For one reason, Texas would be a slight favorite on
- 14:11Speaker 3: a neutral field if they played again tomorrow.
- 14:13Speaker 2: I know that.
- 14:14Speaker 3: I confirmed it with FanDuel, just like with Bama. Bama
- 14:16Speaker 3: is still ahead of Florida State. Bama, according to FanDuel
- 14:19Speaker 3: because I had to hit him up before the show,
- 14:21Speaker 3: would be an eight and a half point favorite against
- 14:23Speaker 3: FSU on neutral field if they played again this week.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Now, if that.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Number got put out, you, you me, we could all
- 14:29Speaker 3: bet Florida State. That's well within our constitutional rights. That's
- 14:32Speaker 3: not what the JP poll's about. JP Pole is just
- 14:34Speaker 3: about putting the information out there and then do with
- 14:37Speaker 3: it what you will. And if you don't care about it,
- 14:39Speaker 3: or you don't like it, it's not for you, don't consume it.
- 14:41Speaker 3: But there are a bunch of people who are unhappy
- 14:44Speaker 3: in life out there, as you've noticed, who really love
- 14:46Speaker 3: to rage out on the JP pole. And all I
- 14:48Speaker 3: want to tell that group is, it's not my fault.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Mad at me? All right? Yeah? I love that. I
- 14:55Speaker 2: love that as well. Josh does an incredible job of
- 14:57Speaker 2: weirdly staying bulletproof.
- 14:58Speaker 3: I would not rank Alabama. I would not rank Alabama
- 15:01Speaker 3: this week. They'd be unranked for me. I'd have Florida
- 15:03Speaker 3: State ranked top ten because if I were an AP voter,
- 15:06Speaker 3: I would go solely on your body of work. So
- 15:08Speaker 3: I would I'd make my preseason rankings because I have
- 15:11Speaker 3: to for the AP, but once the season started, I'd
- 15:13Speaker 3: just wipe the slate clean. So like, why would Auburn
- 15:17Speaker 3: not be ranked right now? Why would Georgia Tech not
- 15:19Speaker 3: be ranked right now? So for all the folks out
- 15:21Speaker 3: there in AP voting land who want to hate on
- 15:23Speaker 3: the J people, well, why do you still have Alabama ranked?
- 15:26Speaker 2: Period? Why should they be ranked? Period?
- 15:29Speaker 3: Conversely, why should Georgia Tech not be ranked? USF beat
- 15:32Speaker 3: Boise Boise was everyone's preseason pick to go to the
- 15:35Speaker 3: playoff from the G five. Will USF beat them handedly?
- 15:38Speaker 3: So why is USF not ranked? So I don't get
- 15:40Speaker 3: the ap logic. Least mine has logic behind it. Even
- 15:44Speaker 3: if people disagree with it and FanDuel backs me up
- 15:46Speaker 3: on it. At least I've got logic behind mine.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Do you think the ACC is stronger than people think
- 15:50Speaker 2: or the SEC is weaker than people think.
- 15:52Speaker 3: I think the SEC is exactly what people thought. I
- 15:55Speaker 3: think Alabama's not what people thought. I mean, Auburn looked
- 15:57Speaker 3: pretty good against Baylor, South Carolina Virginia Tech, like Texas
- 16:02Speaker 3: went and lost to maybe the number one team in
- 16:04Speaker 3: the country. So you remember the other day when we
- 16:07Speaker 3: were doing our season preview and I said, the SEC
- 16:09Speaker 3: is kind of like the Nashville Skyline. There's not a
- 16:11Speaker 3: big skyscraper there, It's just a bunch of pretty tall buildings.
- 16:13Speaker 3: I think the SEC performed exactly like the Nashville Skyline
- 16:17Speaker 3: would perform. Some teams won, In fact, more teams won
- 16:20Speaker 3: than lost, but there were a couple of high profile losses.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Bama being the biggest one.
- 16:24Speaker 3: There's no shame in Texas losing to Ohio State. I
- 16:27Speaker 3: don't think that's not something that villifies or justifies the
- 16:30Speaker 3: SEC's claim. Like to me, if you want to talk
- 16:33Speaker 3: about depth of conference, that South Carolina Virginia Tech game
- 16:36Speaker 3: is really good, That LSU Clemson game is really good.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Clemson is the number one team in another conference. LSU
- 16:42Speaker 3: is not preseason, but they go into their building and win.
- 16:45Speaker 3: South Carolina's probably viewed top eight preseason in the SEC,
- 16:49Speaker 3: top six, top five according to some Virginia Tech's probably
- 16:52Speaker 3: six seven eight here. That's a good comparative matchup, and
- 16:56Speaker 3: you had SEC over that team. So anytime you get
- 16:59Speaker 3: into the it sounds like you're carrying water for the SEC.
- 17:02Speaker 3: It's just telling the truth. There's no logic based conversation
- 17:05Speaker 3: to be had about the SEC, because people either love
- 17:08Speaker 3: them or they hate them, and either one of those
- 17:11Speaker 3: people is not probably one to trust in a fact based,
- 17:14Speaker 3: logic based conversation. But the point is we're one weekend,
- 17:18Speaker 3: so I still got no clue what the SEC is.
- 17:21Speaker 3: I just think I may know a little bit more
- 17:23Speaker 3: about a couple of teams.
- 17:24Speaker 2: I have both of those people in my body in
- 17:25Speaker 2: my mind when I think about the SEC.
- 17:27Speaker 3: That's chaos. Yeah, that's chaos.
- 17:29Speaker 1: It's like I I appreciate, I respect, I love the
- 17:32Speaker 1: ball that comes out of the SEC. And then it's
- 17:34Speaker 1: a big ten guy. There's things you hate and you
- 17:36Speaker 1: want to see fail about the SEC, but you just
- 17:38Speaker 1: they're just battling at all times up here.
- 17:40Speaker 2: I don't know what to do. He has this tug Awards,
- 17:42Speaker 2: Like do I be unbiased? But I am biased? What's
- 17:44Speaker 2: the game's? Actually? You got a good product? Yeah? I know.
- 17:50Speaker 2: I like this. Yeah, because it's like a couple of
- 17:52Speaker 2: weeks ago, you sat there on the bus and you
- 17:54Speaker 2: said the SEC has more depth and we're all looking
- 17:56Speaker 2: around me, Jack and garyl like, what did you just
- 17:58Speaker 2: that's the last three years.
- 17:59Speaker 1: That's the the cat that appreciates the SEC speaking right there.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that's like the other wolf winning for a moment. Yeah,
- 18:06Speaker 2: and then we look at it. Maybe the body of
- 18:08Speaker 2: the SEC is really good, but the head's not so strong.
- 18:10Speaker 3: What if you just what if we just misidentified what
- 18:14Speaker 3: the head is? What if Florida is the head?
- 18:16Speaker 2: Just ran it?
- 18:17Speaker 3: What if Oklahoma is the head? We just don't know,
- 18:19Speaker 3: We don't think that. What if there is a dominant team,
- 18:21Speaker 3: it's just not Alabama or Texas. What if it's one
- 18:23Speaker 3: of them.
- 18:23Speaker 2: What if it's say it for him?
- 18:26Speaker 3: What if it's October is coming? October is coming. Got
- 18:31Speaker 3: Alabama and Oklahoma and October, so the Coctober surprise will happen.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Yeah, at least we're feeling a lot better about the
- 18:38Speaker 2: Alabama gain.
- 18:39Speaker 1: What do you boys make of the generational quarterback comments
- 18:44Speaker 1: and all the slender everything? The world was on fire
- 18:47Speaker 1: during and after the Texas Ohiose State game talking about
- 18:52Speaker 1: arch Manning.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Josh and I were having a conversation right before you
- 18:54Speaker 2: did the electric intro that Jerry wanted to jump in
- 18:57Speaker 2: in the middle of is like, well off. She came
- 19:00Speaker 2: in and said, arch Manning played against a really good
- 19:06Speaker 2: defense and that's why he was bad. Well, if that
- 19:07Speaker 2: is the logic, then arch Manning is a bad quarterback.
- 19:10Speaker 2: But I don't. I don't agree with that at all.
- 19:12Speaker 2: And I think early in that game, you watch arch
- 19:15Speaker 2: Manning when he has a lot of time as offense
- 19:17Speaker 2: line is giving a lot of time, and he chooses
- 19:19Speaker 2: not to use his legs, and I think that, like
- 19:21Speaker 2: it was so apparent to me that it seemed like
- 19:23Speaker 2: that was a coach thing to do before the game,
- 19:25Speaker 2: Like Josh was saying, like, this's a seventeen game season,
- 19:28Speaker 2: don't use your legs if you don't have to personally
- 19:30Speaker 2: for me, first play the game set him up for
- 19:32Speaker 2: an easy completion at sure. Yeah, I think if they
- 19:36Speaker 2: go back and play that game, Arch starts with his
- 19:38Speaker 2: legs a little bit sooner tires out that defense East
- 19:41Speaker 2: to West Kinlin they did versus Michigan, and it opens
- 19:43Speaker 2: up for them a little bit more. But there was
- 19:45Speaker 2: no sustained drives really except for a couple in the
- 19:47Speaker 2: second half. They went for a fourth down on their
- 19:49Speaker 2: first drive, they got that, they went for it again,
- 19:51Speaker 2: didn't get it. So it's like there's a lot of
- 19:53Speaker 2: things that could have gone Texas's way. I think Arch
- 19:55Speaker 2: Manning had a bad day, but it doesn't mean he's
- 19:56Speaker 2: like not who we think he is, which is he's
- 19:59Speaker 2: still a Manning, still the first overall recruit in his class.
- 20:02Speaker 2: I think he's going to be all right. It's just
- 20:03Speaker 2: a bit of a I think it's a shock for
- 20:05Speaker 2: everybody because I think we all sat here last week
- 20:07Speaker 2: and we're like, Texas is going to be the team
- 20:09Speaker 2: we all picked Texas in hof State stood up and
- 20:11Speaker 2: showed that their defense and Matt Patricia had no problem
- 20:14Speaker 2: transitioning from NFL to college and showed a bunch of
- 20:16Speaker 2: different variety of defenses that really mess with archshead.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure that I heard a lot of people
- 20:24Speaker 3: after the game screaming about how overhyped arch Manning was
- 20:27Speaker 3: and how they're tired of the arch hype. Who participated
- 20:30Speaker 3: in the arch hype? Now, I don't consume a whole
- 20:33Speaker 3: lot of generic like national college football media, because I
- 20:37Speaker 3: don't want it dis weigh my own opinion. So I
- 20:40Speaker 3: was telling you I was a little bit out to
- 20:42Speaker 3: left field when so many people kept saying, Oh, everyone
- 20:46Speaker 3: thought he was a generational quarterback, this and that. I
- 20:48Speaker 3: don't doubt people called him a generational quarterback. I just
- 20:51Speaker 3: think the crowd that's yelling he's not a generational quarterback
- 20:55Speaker 3: at the crowd that labeled him a generational quarterback, that
- 20:58Speaker 3: crowds way bigger. One outrage today is way bigger. I
- 21:03Speaker 3: know some people hyped him up, but like we were
- 21:05Speaker 3: on this show, when we were doing the preview, even
- 21:07Speaker 3: you asked me, what are your expectations for arch Manning?
- 21:10Speaker 3: I said, I think he's going to be really good.
- 21:12Speaker 3: I don't think he's generational. I don't think he's elite.
- 21:14Speaker 3: He's not my heisman favorite or anything like that. I
- 21:16Speaker 3: thought that was fair. He still may be all those things.
- 21:19Speaker 3: By the way, he may be better than I thought he.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Was bulletproof, but he's not. I did not throw the G.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Word out there. I did not go generational, so to me,
- 21:27Speaker 3: when I watched what happened the other day, I didn't
- 21:29Speaker 3: get the outcome I thought I would. To be very clear,
- 21:31Speaker 3: I thought Texas would win the game. I didn't think
- 21:33Speaker 3: Texas was going to win the game because Arts was
- 21:35Speaker 3: going off for three point thirty. I thought it was
- 21:37Speaker 3: going to be a complete rock fight and they'd come
- 21:40Speaker 3: out on top because they weren't the team replacing both coordinators.
- 21:43Speaker 3: I did think they have an edge at quarterback, so
- 21:46Speaker 3: by that metric, I was very disappointed. I thought they
- 21:48Speaker 3: had the motivation edge like those things didn't pan out.
- 21:51Speaker 2: But I don't know. I just listened.
- 21:53Speaker 3: I kept on seeing clips afterwards of all these national folks,
- 21:56Speaker 3: a lot of whom don't not Orlowski, but a lot
- 21:58Speaker 3: of these folks I saw yelling about college football don't
- 22:00Speaker 3: normally talk about college football, so I know good and well,
- 22:04Speaker 3: if they've taught college football the last six months, it's
- 22:07Speaker 3: probably been Arch Manning. And now their big takeaway is
- 22:11Speaker 3: I'm tired of the arch hype, which they.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Probably contributed to that. Fine, just what are we? You
- 22:17Speaker 2: know what?
- 22:18Speaker 3: It was good to see you guys. We'll see you
- 22:20Speaker 3: come playoff time.
- 22:25Speaker 1: When I feel like the domino effect because again like
- 22:30Speaker 1: I'm taking whatever, Like you see him as the favorite
- 22:33Speaker 1: for the Heisman, so I'm like, oh, it seems like
- 22:35Speaker 1: he's going to be a really good quarterback this year.
- 22:37Speaker 2: I'm picking picked the Leonora Sellers for the Heisman.
- 22:39Speaker 1: But it's like the person in you seeing Arch Manning
- 22:43Speaker 1: having the interview with Peyton Manning, knowing that they keep
- 22:46Speaker 1: them away from like he's on a bunch of commercials,
- 22:49Speaker 1: but as far as like doing it seems like it's
- 22:51Speaker 1: a kid with a good.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Head on the show.
- 22:53Speaker 1: And so like, oh, wow, he's the Heisman favorite, like
- 22:56Speaker 1: he must be the real deal, even though the body
- 22:58Speaker 1: of work, like has he really to be seen whatsoever?
- 23:02Speaker 2: And then as you're watching the game and you're like.
- 23:04Speaker 1: Oh, man, yeah he's missing some throws here, he's inaccurate
- 23:08Speaker 1: all these things.
- 23:08Speaker 2: You know, it's a massive stage.
- 23:10Speaker 1: For a week one going into Columbus, all the hype
- 23:13Speaker 1: behind him or premature hype, whatever this hype is that
- 23:16Speaker 1: we're speaking about. Then, as the game's going on and
- 23:19Speaker 1: you start seeing the memes and just internet culture seeing
- 23:24Speaker 1: an opportunity. Again, it's not even really about the player,
- 23:27Speaker 1: it's about everything else that goes on. The white black stuff.
- 23:30Speaker 1: You see Shader Sanders being brought up in these conversations
- 23:33Speaker 1: when people are trying to argue.
- 23:34Speaker 2: So you know, right there, when we're seeing.
- 23:36Speaker 1: That stuff, I'm kind of chuckling and it's like, here
- 23:39Speaker 1: we go. You know what this is becoming to be about.
- 23:42Speaker 1: But I see Orlowsky tweet imagine having a generational quarterback
- 23:46Speaker 1: and keeping the training wheels on him for the entire game.
- 23:49Speaker 1: That tweet starts going crazy, and I feel like that's
- 23:51Speaker 1: a that's a domino effect that got some of the
- 23:54Speaker 1: other figureheads talking about it, because then you have something
- 23:56Speaker 1: you have. I think it was Jamil Hill, Jamal Hill,
- 24:00Speaker 1: Jamil Jamal Hill, Jamel Hill. There you go, Jamel Hill.
- 24:05Speaker 1: She's like, Oh, what's it? What are the what are
- 24:08Speaker 1: the characteristics of a of a generational quarterback, getting that
- 24:12Speaker 1: everybody watching knows what I'm talking about, getting that fetestering going,
- 24:15Speaker 1: Which is.
- 24:16Speaker 2: So funny because people love to throw generational quarterback around,
- 24:20Speaker 2: but in a minute, it's like someone's like, well use
- 24:22Speaker 2: it as a general quarterback that didn't play well. It's like, well,
- 24:24Speaker 2: what is a generation? A generational? Everybody's generational until like now,
- 24:31Speaker 2: all of a sudden, we want to nitpick it. Ars Manning.
- 24:33Speaker 1: You know why they call him a generational talent because
- 24:35Speaker 1: he's got the complexion for the protection.
- 24:40Speaker 2: We're having the North sellers of here, I don't know
- 24:42Speaker 2: what you're talking. People out there making it come back.
- 24:48Speaker 2: They're making it come back.
- 24:51Speaker 1: That was kind of my whole breakdown. Like I think again,
- 24:53Speaker 1: it's a it's a it's a coach is for forever.
- 24:57Speaker 1: You're never as bad as they say you are. You're
- 24:59Speaker 1: never as good as they say you are. This is
- 25:00Speaker 1: one where they're all going to watch the tape. I
- 25:02Speaker 1: loved watching his presser where you every time you see
- 25:06Speaker 1: a quarterback taking the podium, you ready to see if
- 25:08Speaker 1: he's going to take accountability or how is he going
- 25:11Speaker 1: to answer questions and him saying like it starts with me.
- 25:14Speaker 1: You know, I enjoy seeing that out of a player,
- 25:17Speaker 1: because that is how it starts if you are an
- 25:19Speaker 1: individual player, like grading yourself, not trying to blame anything
- 25:23Speaker 1: at all.
- 25:23Speaker 2: It was you know, it was loud, It was this.
- 25:25Speaker 1: We had a tough game. We didn't convert. Here you
- 25:27Speaker 1: saying it starts with me. I need to play better.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Watching a player say that, I respect it. I think
- 25:34Speaker 1: he's going to be just fine. I think Ohio State
- 25:36Speaker 1: people didn't talk about that defense enough. It's mostly about
- 25:39Speaker 1: beating down arch Maning. I think Ohio State their defense
- 25:42Speaker 1: is the real deal. Their second level flies to the football.
- 25:45Speaker 1: They got arguably the best player in college football with
- 25:47Speaker 1: Caleb Downs.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Matt Patricia. We said it on Busting with the Boys.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Forgot that this dude's used to game planning for the
- 25:53Speaker 1: likes of Peyton Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Joe Burrow preparing for
- 25:58Speaker 1: super bowls, and that that defense does a really good
- 26:01Speaker 1: job of taking away things. We're not going to let
- 26:04Speaker 1: them beat us, beat us with this guy or with
- 26:06Speaker 1: this scheme.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Patricia did a great job. O Hostate's defense did a
- 26:09Speaker 2: hell of a job.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like it was just that was a battle,
- 26:12Speaker 1: and it was a week one battle, some sloppy play,
- 26:14Speaker 1: misconversions on fourth down like.
- 26:17Speaker 2: It was week one, Week one game.
- 26:19Speaker 1: It was a week one football game against two juggernauts
- 26:21Speaker 1: that are figuring out who they're gonna be. I thought,
- 26:23Speaker 1: I keep saying Justin Sayings, but it's not Julian Sayans,
- 26:27Speaker 1: because every time I watch them all his name's Justin Sayings.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I'm just waiting for the just saying after that to
- 26:32Speaker 1: go that, to go global. I'm kind of getting off
- 26:34Speaker 1: track here, but I thought he did a I thought
- 26:37Speaker 1: Julian Saying did a really good job as well for
- 26:40Speaker 1: his first start.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Uh.
- 26:41Speaker 1: It was a fun game to watch, low scoring, and
- 26:43Speaker 1: I sit there like I should have known.
- 26:45Speaker 2: This was gonna be an undergame. Should have known. I
- 26:47Speaker 2: feel like we I play from now on like the
- 26:49Speaker 2: plan is Week one, we go under. Week one, big
- 26:52Speaker 2: games go under. That's it. No more, no more should
- 26:55Speaker 2: needs to happen. I do love that you Bibible host
- 26:57Speaker 2: because there's been so much conversation around Texas and they're
- 26:59Speaker 2: down falls as a team. But like Texas, the defense
- 27:02Speaker 2: is incredible, but that offensive line, like that that clip
- 27:05Speaker 2: that you posted on Twitter of that double team moving
- 27:08Speaker 2: into the second buddy had his foot playing. They stand
- 27:12Speaker 2: it out, I better take me at Keynes inside and everything,
- 27:15Speaker 2: and they just put the kid on skates and moved
- 27:17Speaker 2: him back like truly football porn. You get that. You
- 27:19Speaker 2: go six to midnight in an absolute hurry watching blocking
- 27:22Speaker 2: like that, which is you know, obviously I'm wearing the
- 27:24Speaker 2: colors I'm wearing, but in Ohio States, they're they're kind
- 27:28Speaker 2: of they've been shot out for being not the toughest
- 27:29Speaker 2: team in the world. But to see them rogu gradding
- 27:32Speaker 2: like that, it's like that, that's fucking big temp.
- 27:34Speaker 3: When I I had that clip pulled up, Savannah walks
- 27:36Speaker 3: behind me. She sees it, she said, because she picked
- 27:39Speaker 3: Texas to win the game. She goes, that's what I'm
- 27:40Speaker 3: talking about. How do you prevent that? How do you
- 27:42Speaker 3: stop that from happen? I said, that's physics.
- 27:44Speaker 2: You watch that's exactly right, And it's like, if you're
- 27:48Speaker 2: able to do that consistently, you're not going to lose
- 27:51Speaker 2: a lot of games.
- 27:52Speaker 3: I felt stupid to go back to the Matt Patricia stuff.
- 27:56Speaker 3: When you look back on a pick, you got to
- 27:57Speaker 3: pick wrong. One of the things I just on within
- 28:00Speaker 3: that game is I didn't respect Matt Patricia enough. I
- 28:03Speaker 3: didn't respect immediately the impact he was going.
- 28:06Speaker 2: To Detroit Lions. He goes becomes the head coach of
- 28:09Speaker 2: the deshort Lions, and he didn't have a good time there,
- 28:11Speaker 2: Like he didn't do well, And I think that's what
- 28:13Speaker 2: everyone was like, Ah, we're done with him.
- 28:15Speaker 1: And it's like then they got him call an offense
- 28:17Speaker 1: with the Patriots when he goes back to the Patriots.
- 28:19Speaker 2: But yeah, same yeah, same thing. It's like, I'm such
- 28:22Speaker 2: an idiot. Yeah, it's like the most overlooked thing that
- 28:25Speaker 2: should have been the most obvious to all of.
- 28:26Speaker 3: Us because they lost a high level coordinator in Knowles
- 28:29Speaker 3: and that was a big story, not so much who
- 28:32Speaker 3: they backfilled him with, which I'm supposed to pick up
- 28:34Speaker 3: on that stuff.
- 28:35Speaker 2: So I blame myself. People can the people definitely not
- 28:40Speaker 2: forget about the model.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Forget about the model and yeah that's so I'm sorry, Matt.
- 28:45Speaker 2: We take some picks, I feel, do we feel is
- 28:46Speaker 2: anything else we need to cover? As far as he listen,
- 28:50Speaker 2: they also want to apologize.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Uh, Nebraska did not cover I got everybody, I got
- 28:54Speaker 1: a lot of d ms telling me they they rode
- 28:57Speaker 1: with covering.
- 28:58Speaker 2: That is on me.
- 28:59Speaker 1: You do have have to know if you're new to
- 29:02Speaker 1: the show, you have to know that your boy gets
- 29:04Speaker 1: really spiced up for some Nebraska football. I like, you
- 29:08Speaker 1: take take them money lines and some parlays. But you
- 29:11Speaker 1: know what, I am my iPad Game of the Week
- 29:14Speaker 1: Notre Dame. Miami whipped on.
- 29:16Speaker 2: That one too. I can't play for the old line
- 29:19Speaker 2: out there, old line, which is kind of heartbreaking, gold helmet.
- 29:25Speaker 2: You're like, how are they gonna protect uh CJ. Carr?
- 29:27Speaker 1: Get him going a little bit? They're gonna lean on
- 29:29Speaker 1: the old line. Whereas I'm watching the game and it's like,
- 29:31Speaker 1: oh CJ. Carr has got some stuff to him. The
- 29:33Speaker 1: old line, I feel like it's letting him down.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Especially that last drive. I mean, there was like reports
- 29:38Speaker 2: the Sale reporter some about how they're throwing up in
- 29:40Speaker 2: the corner. There are light gold pants for very dark gold.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Towards the end, you see them huffing and puffing and
- 29:46Speaker 2: Miami fans have fun. I don't know if those Miami
- 29:48Speaker 2: defense vends are just eight generational talents. They seem generational
- 29:53Speaker 2: based on those last two plays of the game, because
- 29:55Speaker 2: those wide receivers. They whirling dervish dude, he was out
- 29:58Speaker 2: there spinning around.
- 29:59Speaker 3: He had no idea was that's not a bad player.
- 30:01Speaker 3: That's not a bad player either.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Ruben Bain was like a rubber band that had been
- 30:05Speaker 2: pulled the whole game and then that last drive. They said,
- 30:08Speaker 2: where do it go? Yeah, you just let it go?
- 30:11Speaker 2: Who does what tackle in the country does anything about that?
- 30:14Speaker 2: Who's dealing with that? Yeah, I don't know, y'all can
- 30:16Speaker 2: pick the best one.
- 30:17Speaker 3: I'm just saying I think he's going to struggle going
- 30:19Speaker 3: one on one against four in a fourth quarter in
- 30:21Speaker 3: a pressure situation. That dude hasn't been healthy his whole
- 30:24Speaker 3: career and he is right now. So you also mentioned
- 30:27Speaker 3: when you think about o Lion, you think of that
- 30:29Speaker 3: Golden Dome. May think about that this year. Yeah, because
- 30:32Speaker 3: that that's not a bad offense.
- 30:34Speaker 2: The disrespect, the emotion in his voice after the game,
- 30:37Speaker 2: you could tell, like those last eight months it was
- 30:40Speaker 2: not just the injury that affected him, and it was all
- 30:42Speaker 2: the noise. So we said it like you're leaving a
- 30:44Speaker 2: place for a girlfriend. This was crazy. He's done two
- 30:46Speaker 2: years ago. We've got a Lambeau. We had your generational
- 30:49Speaker 2: two years ago. You're not generational anymore. Hey, so now
- 30:52Speaker 2: he's generationalation?
- 30:53Speaker 3: Well, I mean, come on, now, he's one enough, he's got.
- 30:55Speaker 2: To be there. I think at this point it's safe
- 30:57Speaker 2: to say there are more generational cornerbacks than there are not.
- 31:00Speaker 3: We've never seen in the modern era. I don't think
- 31:02Speaker 3: we've ever had this many generational cup Do you.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Think it's now? If you're a bad quarterback or generational, I.
- 31:07Speaker 3: Think you've got a path to be a generation Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:09Speaker 2: I think if you're good, it's like that's you're bad.
- 31:11Speaker 3: You're mid're knocking on the door being bad, that's what
- 31:14Speaker 3: you're generally.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I do think we can all agree on this is
- 31:17Speaker 1: going to This is a generational college football season because
- 31:21Speaker 1: it's wide.
- 31:22Speaker 2: Open, and I think it's going to remain that way too.
- 31:25Speaker 1: First game, Yeah, generational quarterback Pavia Diego. Pavia goes out
- 31:30Speaker 1: to Virginia Tech Vandy. We get all of our odds,
- 31:33Speaker 1: we get all of our data, we get all of
- 31:34Speaker 1: our stuff from the Fanduels sportsbook. Vandy is the underdog
- 31:38Speaker 1: in this game. Virginia Tech favored by minus one and
- 31:41Speaker 1: a half. The over under on this game forty seven
- 31:43Speaker 1: and a half? Boys, what do we like here?
- 31:48Speaker 3: I think Virginia Tech isn't what I like to call
- 31:51Speaker 3: wounded animal mode, pure desperation mode. After that Week one game,
- 31:54Speaker 3: I think they probably played a little scrappier to use
- 31:58Speaker 3: a memalism than people expected them too against South Carolina.
- 32:01Speaker 3: Like people look back at that South Carolina game Week one,
- 32:03Speaker 3: South Carolina ended up covering, needed the special team score
- 32:06Speaker 3: to do it.
- 32:06Speaker 2: They had to their way to the win, and I.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Think most people look at it and say, oh, boy, man,
- 32:11Speaker 3: I think I think South Carolina just struggled a little
- 32:14Speaker 3: more than I thought they would. Maybe Virginia Tech had
- 32:16Speaker 3: something to do with that. So now they come back home,
- 32:19Speaker 3: that entire coaching staff knows their coaching for their jobs,
- 32:21Speaker 3: and they know what happened last year with this game,
- 32:24Speaker 3: and so they this.
- 32:25Speaker 1: Is this is like a revenge game. I was seeing
- 32:27Speaker 1: a couple of quotes from the players like this one
- 32:29Speaker 1: circled for them.
- 32:30Speaker 3: Vandy's got a few of those this year that they're
- 32:32Speaker 3: going to participate in.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Yeah, very unfamiliar talking that shit.
- 32:37Speaker 3: But he looked good in that Week one he did
- 32:40Speaker 3: he did?
- 32:41Speaker 2: I actually think, yeah, but who they play like. He
- 32:44Speaker 2: was routes on there out there. He still still in
- 32:48Speaker 2: the right place. He got himself, he was being shifted.
- 32:50Speaker 2: He did his thing. He did Diego Pavia the best
- 32:52Speaker 2: way too. Pave does Diego Pavia beg the generational tunt, Yes,
- 32:56Speaker 2: but it was still like there's a lot of schools
- 32:58Speaker 2: where we're talking about today that played the school to
- 33:00Speaker 2: deafen the blind, and Vanderbilt is not exempt from that.
- 33:04Speaker 3: I need a generational performance from Kyen Drones and I'm
- 33:07Speaker 3: not gonna get it. But I don't actually need that.
- 33:08Speaker 3: I need enough from him. I think Virginia Tech's gonna
- 33:11Speaker 3: ugly out of win here. I actually think they're gonna win.
- 33:13Speaker 2: They are. I'm gonna lay the one and a half.
- 33:17Speaker 3: I'm gonna take Virginia Tech to win and cover revenge
- 33:19Speaker 3: spot a couple of them this year for Vanny, the
- 33:21Speaker 3: first one they fall in.
- 33:23Speaker 2: I like, I like a couple of get to it
- 33:27Speaker 2: because it's one of the other. I feel like, you
- 33:29Speaker 2: can't lose both.
- 33:30Speaker 3: That's correct, that's gonna lose both. Well, the generational quarterback
- 33:33Speaker 3: wouldn't would never never.
- 33:34Speaker 1: I like two things in this game. I like the
- 33:37Speaker 1: over more than I do pick in the game over
- 33:40Speaker 1: forty seven and a half. And to me, the X
- 33:43Speaker 1: factor is a gentleman we know very well, and it's
- 33:46Speaker 1: Kate McConnell.
- 33:47Speaker 2: Cade McConnell's the X factor in this game. Wow.
- 33:53Speaker 1: And I'll be damned if they're getting their first tests
- 33:56Speaker 1: of the season and I'm not back in the boy.
- 33:58Speaker 1: I'll have you a two friends of the show. But
- 34:00Speaker 1: Kay McConnell, he was an intern here of Summer Boy,
- 34:03Speaker 1: of the show and generational offensive fuck talent right there.
- 34:08Speaker 1: Kayden McConnell, he's the X factor in this game, and
- 34:11Speaker 1: I'm taking I'm taking Vandy, like the over more than
- 34:15Speaker 1: I do pick in the game. But if I'm picking
- 34:17Speaker 1: the game, I'm going Vandy money line.
- 34:18Speaker 2: I love how you touch on the over. I like
- 34:20Speaker 2: the over as well, and I will also be going
- 34:22Speaker 2: a Vandy. Something about Diego Pavia, something about Kate McConnell,
- 34:26Speaker 2: something about Kate McConnell. Like, Kay, so was it Tuesday?
- 34:30Speaker 2: It might've been too, Yeah, yeah, it was yesterday. Today's Wednesday.
- 34:33Speaker 2: Kate texts me, He's like, what is your weekly routine
- 34:35Speaker 2: when you're in the football season. We get on the
- 34:37Speaker 2: phone we talk about the entire routine. He's like, I
- 34:38Speaker 2: am not missing the step this year. And I was like, hey,
- 34:40Speaker 2: whatever you do, make sure you do it consistently, but
- 34:43Speaker 2: don't put too much on your plate. This is the
- 34:44Speaker 2: team that's re energized. This is a team that packed
- 34:48Speaker 2: out a stadium with their own fans in Week one,
- 34:51Speaker 2: like people actually screamed us, where the other team actually
- 34:54Speaker 2: had to go into a silent cadence. They got something
- 34:57Speaker 2: going on here in Nashville, Tennessee. And I'm not going
- 34:59Speaker 2: to be the guy to jump up bandwagon when I
- 35:00Speaker 2: jumped on the bandwagon when they played Virginia Tech last
- 35:02Speaker 2: year in Week one and ended up going to overtime,
- 35:04Speaker 2: big dub and the and the bet for that one. Yeah,
- 35:06Speaker 2: I'll be going Vandy. I love Diego, I love Cad Moore.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I'm taking them for everybody hearing the applause that happened
- 35:14Speaker 1: when I said, Cad McConnell, that's how good of an
- 35:17Speaker 1: intern and how close he got with the.
- 35:19Speaker 2: Boys during his two months. That's how you know this
- 35:21Speaker 2: is a Cad McConnell game. You spoke to him. They're
- 35:24Speaker 2: winning the Natty. Yeah, well we pumped the brakes with him. Hey,
- 35:27Speaker 2: we were literally I looked at him and go, hey, listen,
- 35:29Speaker 2: you're in it. I'm gonna tell you right now, he's
- 35:31Speaker 2: not gonna win the natty disrespect. But like you just
- 35:33Speaker 2: got to be able to zoom out a little bit.
- 35:35Speaker 1: But with the strong performance of week one, whether it
- 35:37Speaker 1: was against an elementary school team, it doesn't matter the
- 35:39Speaker 1: fact that they're they put the they put the pedal
- 35:41Speaker 1: to the medal. I'm going to ride with them in
- 35:43Speaker 1: their first big test at Virginia Tech.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Another reason why I like Vanderbilt in this Vanderbilt has
- 35:48Speaker 2: had one extra day of rest compared to Virginia Tech.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Virginia Tech wasn't a nail bier. They got beat up
- 35:53Speaker 2: a little bit by South Carolina and the offense line,
- 35:56Speaker 2: defensive line, they have less time, I just think. And
- 36:00Speaker 2: also Vandy played you know one and a half quarters,
- 36:03Speaker 2: like those boys are fresh and they always seen My
- 36:05Speaker 2: third mid season form against Ginia Tech starts off, Oh
- 36:09Speaker 2: and two generational VA. You think he's getting a hook?
- 36:15Speaker 2: They do?
- 36:16Speaker 3: The fan are the fan base does? Yeah?
- 36:20Speaker 2: Went up this episode to bring you michelob Ultra brought
- 36:23Speaker 2: to you by Michel Bulstri superior light beer. The delicious
- 36:26Speaker 2: taste of victory deserves something equally superior. Cheer on your
- 36:29Speaker 2: team with Michelo Ultra at two point six carbs and
- 36:32Speaker 2: ninety five calories, it's a superior smooth taste worth playing for.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Michelob Ultra superior light beer. Yeah. Next game, Kansas, go ahead? No,
- 36:41Speaker 2: go ahead? Yeah? Kansas at Missouri. Kansas is underdogs by
- 36:44Speaker 2: six and a half points. What else? What's the game over?
- 36:48Speaker 2: Fifty and a half points. I need you to juice
- 36:52Speaker 2: that game better. That crazy someone opened the door. If
- 36:55Speaker 2: we put the little thing in the sign, you put
- 36:57Speaker 2: up a sign that said do not come in. Fill
- 37:00Speaker 2: me in progress. You just give a little better. That's
- 37:03Speaker 2: my fault. I got distracted. Aause a light shine in
- 37:05Speaker 2: my face. Just now I had a lightsh on my face.
- 37:08Speaker 2: The battle of the board of the first time these
- 37:10Speaker 2: two teams have met, Kansas is at Missouri Missouri first
- 37:15Speaker 2: two teams they've met since twenty eleven. Since twenty eleven,
- 37:20Speaker 2: Kansas at Missouri, Missouri is nine and one at home
- 37:24Speaker 2: in their last ten games. Missouri is favored by six
- 37:27Speaker 2: and a half points. The total in that game is
- 37:29Speaker 2: fifty and a half. Will Compton, We'll start with you,
- 37:32Speaker 2: and also thank you for letting me do this great work.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Because the way you did that, I'm like, this is
- 37:36Speaker 1: a this is a Midwestern battle rights. These teams haven't
- 37:39Speaker 1: got to play. You said it is twenty eleven, buddy,
- 37:42Speaker 1: the rivalry dates back to slavery.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Okay, I was gonna, I was gonna ask I read that.
- 37:45Speaker 2: It's like I literally read that. This is pretty much
- 37:48Speaker 2: to say it's the oldest coast. I'm thinking of myself.
- 37:51Speaker 2: So you're telling me the North of the South had northyt.
- 37:55Speaker 2: We gotta figure out this football game real Quick's the
- 37:58Speaker 2: crazy decent teams, the fan bases, they're ready to go. Yeah,
- 38:03Speaker 2: so I did.
- 38:03Speaker 1: You're like, you know, Kansas is six and a half
- 38:05Speaker 1: point underdogs, Like, hey, no, US pissed me.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Off a little bit. I got distracted by add kicked
- 38:11Speaker 2: off in a bad way. Go ahead, comp I love.
- 38:15Speaker 1: The over in this game, love the over at fifteen
- 38:18Speaker 1: and a half. I also like, I love Jaylee Daniel.
- 38:22Speaker 1: I think he's a healthquay, He's a generational quarterback, Jaalen
- 38:24Speaker 1: Daniel and I just at the end of the day,
- 38:28Speaker 1: I think Missoo's deeper. I think they're faster. I love
- 38:31Speaker 1: what drink Kas going on there. He has a good
- 38:32Speaker 1: culture there. This is a team that's been a double
- 38:35Speaker 1: digit win team the last two years. And if you
- 38:38Speaker 1: look on the Kansas ade, another reason I like the
- 38:40Speaker 1: over there. There's gonna be points in this game. Jalen
- 38:42Speaker 1: Daniel unless he gets injured, you're not gonna be all.
- 38:44Speaker 1: You can only hope to contain him. But Kansas has
- 38:47Speaker 1: some second level injuries going on at the linebacker spot.
- 38:50Speaker 1: I see that Massoo exposing them a little bit more.
- 38:53Speaker 1: But again, I just think that the roster overall is deeper,
- 38:56Speaker 1: faster than what Kansas has played thus far. It's gonna
- 38:59Speaker 1: be kansas first big real test. Same with Missoo as well.
- 39:02Speaker 1: But I like I like Missoo in this game minus
- 39:05Speaker 1: six and a half, but I love I like missoom
- 39:07Speaker 1: minus six and a half.
- 39:08Speaker 2: But I love the over. Can we can I ask
- 39:10Speaker 2: you a question? A lot of over talking the first
- 39:13Speaker 2: two picks of this game. Yeah, from you essentially being like,
- 39:15Speaker 2: hey make sure you put that in my record this week,
- 39:17Speaker 2: or we're just doing pick onps for the season, or
- 39:19Speaker 2: would you like the over to be a part of
- 39:21Speaker 2: your record. Oh I didn't even think about that.
- 39:23Speaker 1: I was just when I'm looking at the games, I'm like, gosh,
- 39:26Speaker 1: how do I figure out? How do I find the
- 39:29Speaker 1: way and fine picks that I love during these because
- 39:33Speaker 1: the six and a half points here at missoo, it's
- 39:35Speaker 1: a little it's a little scary, like Kansas could pull
- 39:39Speaker 1: this one off.
- 39:39Speaker 2: They could definitely cover because you're again you're late.
- 39:41Speaker 1: You got six and a half there, uh so, and
- 39:44Speaker 1: then I see the fifty and a half, I'm like,
- 39:45Speaker 1: these offenses are going to score down. You get a
- 39:47Speaker 1: week under your belt, Kansas a couple of weeks under
- 39:50Speaker 1: their belt.
- 39:50Speaker 2: We're gonna have some points. So that's why I love
- 39:52Speaker 2: the over. But you're asking me record wise, Yeah, I
- 39:57Speaker 2: got a total.
- 39:57Speaker 3: I'm gonna fire on later and I on on my record. Okay,
- 40:01Speaker 3: so I think we should count. I think you just
- 40:03Speaker 3: have to make a pick on the game.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Okay, make a pick of the game. But if you
- 40:06Speaker 2: feel as struggling as you do, we could be like, hey, yeah.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Like you want my official pick to be the total
- 40:11Speaker 3: on this game, so me, my total should be the
- 40:14Speaker 3: pick on this that's what you're most confident in that's.
- 40:16Speaker 2: What I'm most confident in over fifty nine.
- 40:18Speaker 3: I just want to know, on a side note, after
- 40:21Speaker 3: everything went under last week, where's the confidence coming from.
- 40:24Speaker 1: It's Week one football, the assholes, everybody in the film room.
- 40:27Speaker 1: There's an urgency that always comes out of week one
- 40:30Speaker 1: to where, Hey, I told you we're not shit. We
- 40:33Speaker 1: got to get the offense going.
- 40:34Speaker 2: Here. You put us in the bats final special team's defense.
- 40:36Speaker 2: That's why we need you to do X, Y and Z.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Johnson number zero, the linebacker from South Carolina, this is
- 40:41Speaker 1: why you fall down in the end zone when you
- 40:44Speaker 1: pick the ball off. You're not ed read, you're not
- 40:46Speaker 1: taking it a hundred back to the house. You pin
- 40:48Speaker 1: this on the one or two yard line. We got
- 40:49Speaker 1: a safety that kept Virginia Tech in the game. It's
- 40:52Speaker 1: stuff like that, the urgency of coaching that happens going
- 40:54Speaker 1: from week one to week two to where everybody's dialed in,
- 40:58Speaker 1: focused and they're they're they're just they're more locked in
- 41:02Speaker 1: on what the game plan is going to be and
- 41:03Speaker 1: how to execute. And I feel like players get more
- 41:05Speaker 1: hyper aware of situational football than just you know, going
- 41:09Speaker 1: out there and trying to execute on week one, because everybody,
- 41:13Speaker 1: you're fired up, your jitters, your butterflies, a little fear
- 41:16Speaker 1: in your mind.
- 41:17Speaker 2: I got to get the first head out of the way.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Am I? Who am? I? Who?
- 41:20Speaker 1: I think I am? All that stuff going through your mind.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Now you hone it in a little bit more. You're
- 41:24Speaker 1: a little bit more aware of the game schematically. That's
- 41:27Speaker 1: why I like points in week.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Also, coaches, they all live in this kind of the
- 41:30Speaker 2: same world, but only the paranoid survive. So when you're
- 41:33Speaker 2: ten to fifteen days away from your first game, you
- 41:35Speaker 2: start implementing, Hey, we're gonna start doing These are a
- 41:37Speaker 2: couple of runs we like against this team. This is
- 41:39Speaker 2: what we kind of like if we're looking to this
- 41:40Speaker 2: big game. We have a week two. So in a
- 41:42Speaker 2: lot of ways, you're overpracticing, You're over watching film, you're
- 41:46Speaker 2: over being nitpicky on details of how running run games
- 41:49Speaker 2: should go, motion shifts, all these different things to where
- 41:52Speaker 2: you get to the game, and a lot of times
- 41:54Speaker 2: which you said, buttholes get a little tight. So now
- 41:56Speaker 2: you're having that conversation be like, yeah, we ain't shit, boys,
- 41:58Speaker 2: we gotta let it loose. Now you have a short
- 42:00Speaker 2: window to go prepare for these bigger games. That's when
- 42:03Speaker 2: you can see the athletes start to become athletes and
- 42:04Speaker 2: not think so much about and coaching wise too.
- 42:06Speaker 1: To your point, you're throwing a lot of different maybe
- 42:08Speaker 1: concepts at the wall for week one, and then you're
- 42:11Speaker 1: figuring out what you're good at for your players and
- 42:15Speaker 1: what they do with So I feel like that stuff
- 42:17Speaker 1: starts to get tightened up.
- 42:18Speaker 2: And that leads me into why I like Missouri because
- 42:21Speaker 2: you have Bobula Pabula and Sam Horns. They're kind of
- 42:25Speaker 2: going back and forth and the whole Like you know,
- 42:27Speaker 2: the old college football verbigion is if you have two quarterbacks,
- 42:30Speaker 2: you have zero quarterbacks. If it's very ununfortunately what happened
- 42:34Speaker 2: to Sam Horn, I'm having a lower leg injury. You
- 42:36Speaker 2: don't like that at all. From a if I'm like
- 42:38Speaker 2: taking all emotion out of it. I'm looking at bo
- 42:40Speaker 2: Pabula seeing kind of what he did at Penn State
- 42:42Speaker 2: before he transferred. They used him in the same way
- 42:44Speaker 2: that they used Will Levis, like kind of like that
- 42:46Speaker 2: running quarterback, you can move around. He was situational, but
- 42:49Speaker 2: they're in this battle back and forth. So you're essentially
- 42:52Speaker 2: implementing multiple game plans for Sam Horn who has this
- 42:55Speaker 2: certain set of skill sets, and then Bo Pabula, who
- 42:58Speaker 2: has a different set of skill sets. Now you're going
- 43:00Speaker 2: into this Kansas game, be like, hey, we know this
- 43:02Speaker 2: is our quarterback. We know this is his strength, we
- 43:03Speaker 2: know this is weaknesses. Not to mention you have a
- 43:06Speaker 2: defense coming back that has nine guys coming back. And
- 43:08Speaker 2: he also brought Damon Wilson over from I believe it
- 43:11Speaker 2: was Georgia, right, he had two sacks in their opener.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Missouri has always been like a sneaky, like good team,
- 43:17Speaker 2: like I said it in at the opening, Like they're
- 43:19Speaker 2: nine and one in their last ten at home, Like
- 43:21Speaker 2: their record at home is much better than their record
- 43:24Speaker 2: is away. I like Missouri a lot in this game.
- 43:27Speaker 2: I love the over as well, because I think that
- 43:29Speaker 2: Jalen Brown kid is going to be is going to
- 43:31Speaker 2: be a stud. The big knock on him was like
- 43:34Speaker 2: a you know, accuracy issues but also injury issues. Well,
- 43:37Speaker 2: he's healthy and he's got a couple of transfers from
- 43:39Speaker 2: Alabama and other places that he's gonna put points on
- 43:41Speaker 2: the board. But I like Missouri to pull this one
- 43:43Speaker 2: out and cover Jalen Brown. Generational quarterback. I think it's
- 43:47Speaker 2: without question agreed.
- 43:48Speaker 3: Yeah, Len Daniels. Yeah, I'm gonna get his last name right,
- 43:50Speaker 3: but I'm gonna say he's probably generational.
- 43:52Speaker 2: He is probably generational, But it's Jalen Daniels Brown.
- 43:58Speaker 3: First name is fine.
- 43:59Speaker 2: It's from an idiots. Yeah, but you guys get Kansas
- 44:01Speaker 2: quarterback right, Kansas quarterback. He gets slung it. Yeah, I'm
- 44:06Speaker 2: trying to give me a dick Joe Connest. He's coming
- 44:11Speaker 2: out of blood that didn't play. I'm sitting there looking
- 44:16Speaker 2: over at club like, is he Joy's nuts? Jay, get
- 44:22Speaker 2: you on a dig Joe before the show's over. By
- 44:24Speaker 2: the way, I thought you're not exempted anymore.
- 44:26Speaker 3: I know, Okay, Yeah I fumbled. I fumbled. I fumbled
- 44:29Speaker 3: the I don't even know what I was gonna say.
- 44:31Speaker 3: I love Kansas in this game. They were my dark
- 44:33Speaker 3: horse in the Big twelve. Yeah, this is why I
- 44:35Speaker 3: dive on these games a little bit, because the more
- 44:37Speaker 3: I dove, the more I realized I think Missouri is
- 44:39Speaker 3: going to tilt this game. Hate the linebacker situation with
- 44:42Speaker 3: Kansas banged up. Don't love the green nature of their
- 44:46Speaker 3: offensive line going into this environment. Really fast defense Missouri has.
- 44:50Speaker 2: To athletic, long fast.
- 44:53Speaker 3: I think quarterback run is going to be huge for
- 44:55Speaker 3: both sides. Actually, I think Pribulah I think you had
- 44:59Speaker 3: sixty five on the ground last week, but it was
- 45:01Speaker 3: a Central Arkansas. But I think he will probably end
- 45:04Speaker 3: up grabbing people's attention to tune in to watch Jaylen
- 45:07Speaker 3: Daniels run the ball and they'll say, wow, that that
- 45:10Speaker 3: pribula kid can run the ball a little bit too.
- 45:11Speaker 3: I actually think Missouri is gonna win and cover. I
- 45:13Speaker 3: do like the over, but my pick is gonna be
- 45:15Speaker 3: Missouri minus the points.
- 45:18Speaker 2: Love that, so we're all on Missouri. We're all m
- 45:20Speaker 2: I z z ou. I might have to change. Yeah,
- 45:23Speaker 2: I don't change, dude, separate from the pack. No, not
- 45:30Speaker 2: this game. Mine's the over like Missou. But I love
- 45:36Speaker 2: the over. So you're taking Here's what I don't. Here's
- 45:38Speaker 2: where I want to take a step back on the
- 45:40Speaker 2: overtalk and the pick them talk. The records are gonna
- 45:42Speaker 2: get all fucked up, like, like what if we have
- 45:46Speaker 2: like a pick them record and an over under record.
- 45:48Speaker 4: I think you got the way you guys do it
- 45:50Speaker 4: is if you love like like Will saying, I love
- 45:53Speaker 4: the over.
- 45:53Speaker 3: That's his pick then, Like, but I like Missoo.
- 45:56Speaker 2: Because they're still picking these games.
- 45:58Speaker 1: They're all sitting around minus one ten, minus one twenty
- 46:00Speaker 1: odds when we're picking these games.
- 46:01Speaker 3: So like Will loves the over and that's his pick
- 46:03Speaker 3: for the Misoo game.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Like Willy B.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Personally, I'm still going to bet missoom mynsex will be
- 46:07Speaker 1: but I don't.
- 46:08Speaker 2: That's what my dad called me growing up. Willy Be there.
- 46:11Speaker 2: But you can't just start telling Willy Brown cousin of
- 46:14Speaker 2: Jaylen Brown. I'm like, my man forgot his last name.
- 46:18Speaker 1: He's he's a blood now apparently was apparently a gorilla
- 46:22Speaker 1: at a zoo that was named Willy B.
- 46:23Speaker 2: And my dad just yeah Atlanta z Yeah, yeah, I
- 46:26Speaker 2: knew him well.
- 46:27Speaker 3: I met him well, I went to see I went
- 46:30Speaker 3: to the zoo to see.
- 46:32Speaker 2: I met him.
- 46:34Speaker 3: Being agreed with Billy By and then they had a
- 46:36Speaker 3: baby and they handed out a bumper stickers and said
- 46:38Speaker 3: will he be a boy or a girl?
- 46:40Speaker 2: I had that on my bike. I know I know
- 46:44Speaker 2: about Willy Be has nothing to do with the show,
- 46:47Speaker 2: but things one good for that monkey and two good
- 46:50Speaker 2: for Will's brain because I.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Was about you for a second, dude, we interrupt this
- 46:54Speaker 1: episode to bring you Form Energy. Form Energy delivers best
- 46:57Speaker 1: in class taste with natural flavors and zero ro sugar.
- 47:00Speaker 1: Form Energy has natural caffeine derived from green tea. Form
- 47:04Speaker 1: comes at a variety of flavors. Your boy is holding
- 47:06Speaker 1: the orange fury right here. You got screaming Freedom, you
- 47:09Speaker 1: got blue Blitz, grape smash, and it's perfect for those
- 47:13Speaker 1: who put in the work. If you're like my boy
- 47:15Speaker 1: Clay here where you're somebody who wakes up in the morning,
- 47:17Speaker 1: gets a workout and puts in a full day of
- 47:19Speaker 1: work and still gives it there all when they come home.
- 47:22Speaker 2: That's Form Energy. You're a Form Energy guy. Form Energy.
- 47:26Speaker 2: We do the work back to this episode.
- 47:28Speaker 1: This one, I have chalked up South Florida at Florida
- 47:32Speaker 1: again Generational Quarterback and DJ Lagway. Florida is favored by
- 47:36Speaker 1: seventeen and a half. The over under on this game
- 47:39Speaker 1: is fifty five and a half. My only note on
- 47:42Speaker 1: this game is Josh Payt game. Nobody saw the boys
- 47:45Speaker 1: more clearly, Nobody saw usf more clearly than Josh Pat
- 47:48Speaker 1: did last week. So my only note Josh Payt game.
- 47:51Speaker 1: I'll let you boys, take the floor, and I'm just
- 47:53Speaker 1: gonna ride with wherever he's gone.
- 47:56Speaker 2: You're not sick shit, Yeah, the US I'm honestly, I'm
- 47:59Speaker 2: gonna sit. I didn't do shit at work for this.
- 48:03Speaker 1: They preparing a guys stand. I like DJ Lagway and
- 48:06Speaker 1: the Florida Gators. Seventeen and a half seems to be
- 48:08Speaker 1: like a lot of points and you see a whooped
- 48:10Speaker 1: that ass on?
- 48:11Speaker 2: Boys, you watched it? Did you watch the game? Which
- 48:13Speaker 2: one you see versus Boissey State? I watched clips of
- 48:17Speaker 2: the first half. Yeah, okay the game. The score does
- 48:20Speaker 2: not reflect the game. It was ten. It was ten
- 48:22Speaker 2: to seven before that fake punt happened. And buddy, let
- 48:25Speaker 2: me tell you, Uh, Boise State's defensive line was swallowing
- 48:30Speaker 2: USF officer. I'm talking Bonnie Blue swallowing them up. They
- 48:33Speaker 2: so we like Florida. We love Florida. I'm talking about
- 48:37Speaker 2: like he had no chance to breathe. Now, this cat
- 48:39Speaker 2: brought Brian Brown. Am I saying that? What? Good? Try? Yeah?
- 48:46Speaker 3: No, that's actually no.
- 48:50Speaker 2: You could bury this nig away. Dude. You're trying to
- 48:53Speaker 2: give me hey kids show. But oh you're right. I'm
- 48:58Speaker 2: on edge. I started about Bonnie Blue and the whole thing.
- 49:01Speaker 2: Like listen, USF's offensive offensive line was getting absolutely destroyed
- 49:05Speaker 2: that entire game. The quarterback for USF, I will not
- 49:08Speaker 2: say his name because I'm worried about getting got right careful.
- 49:11Speaker 2: That kid is a like He not only runs hard,
- 49:14Speaker 2: he's like a heat seeking messle when it comes to contact.
- 49:16Speaker 2: He was looking for Boise State secondary guys, wanted to
- 49:18Speaker 2: put them in the ground before he rushed for a
- 49:20Speaker 2: billion more yards. I love his heart, I love what
- 49:23Speaker 2: he is for college football. But DJ Lagway and the
- 49:26Speaker 2: Florida Gators are going to stomp that ass in the one.
- 49:29Speaker 2: That's what's happening seventeen and a half. Can you sell
- 49:31Speaker 2: me better than that?
- 49:32Speaker 3: Kid's name's Byron Brown? Okay, So I said no, I
- 49:35Speaker 3: just wanted to go. I wanted to swerve it just
- 49:37Speaker 3: a little bit. You tried to get because I thought
- 49:39Speaker 3: if we just swerve the pronunciation a little bit, that
- 49:41Speaker 3: was my end. Yeah. USF's going to cover here somehow.
- 49:44Speaker 2: By the way USF is going to They're.
- 49:45Speaker 3: Gonna cover here somehow. Yeah. Actually, so what you're saying
- 49:48Speaker 3: is true, Like that game's not reflective. Last week of
- 49:50Speaker 3: how it went with Boise.
- 49:52Speaker 2: But I also, how do I know that?
- 49:54Speaker 3: I just saw USF's peak performance in week one two.
- 49:56Speaker 3: Maybe they've got room for improvement. Florida's got some big
- 50:00Speaker 3: ones on deck. They got a trip to LSU and
- 50:02Speaker 3: a trip to Miami coming up, and everyone knows it,
- 50:05Speaker 3: and everyone's gearing up for it. This is a game
- 50:07Speaker 3: you get out of healthy. And I'm not saying that's
- 50:09Speaker 3: what their mentality is. I'm saying that's kind of how
- 50:11Speaker 3: the game ends up playing out. To me, it's about
- 50:14Speaker 3: a half a point too many, thirty seven to twenty
- 50:17Speaker 3: something like that. Yeah, I'm good, comfortable Florida win. I
- 50:20Speaker 3: think USF comes in under the number, though I'm taking
- 50:22Speaker 3: them to cover.
- 50:24Speaker 2: Couldn't disagree more. Jake Slaughter that offensive line. Jake Slaughter
- 50:28Speaker 2: is a center for the Florida Gators. Yep, there's rumors
- 50:30Speaker 2: sworn around the Florida Gators, Joe Moore Award rumors, Djlagway's
- 50:35Speaker 2: going to sit back there USF's defensive line. I don't
- 50:38Speaker 2: know if it was the camerangle, if they had them
- 50:39Speaker 2: boys on point five or what, but they looked like
- 50:41Speaker 2: a bunch of string beans out there. They looked like
- 50:43Speaker 2: they were not there to play D one football. They
- 50:45Speaker 2: seem like linebackers and safeties. They're smaller. They're going to
- 50:49Speaker 2: get owned in the trenches. DJ's going to sit back there,
- 50:53Speaker 2: take a nap, have a cup of tea, wake up,
- 50:54Speaker 2: and throw for a two hundred and fifty yards no problem,
- 50:56Speaker 2: three touchdowns.
- 50:58Speaker 3: JP Poll Top ten team Florida j.
- 51:02Speaker 2: People gotta have it, and I don't people number one
- 51:06Speaker 2: team in the country Texas.
- 51:07Speaker 3: That's true.
- 51:08Speaker 2: I don't.
- 51:08Speaker 1: This should be good this week too, it should voting
- 51:11Speaker 1: Baylor would be off my top twenty five.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Also on me, one of your points being Florida has
- 51:18Speaker 2: like a bunch of big games in their schedule and
- 51:19Speaker 2: it is the biggest thing revolving around Florida. Was Yeah,
- 51:22Speaker 2: they're a good football team this year. However, their schedule
- 51:24Speaker 2: is so strong we can't see them kind of making
- 51:26Speaker 2: out of it alive. That schedule when you talked about
- 51:29Speaker 2: the strength of it, didn't include us F TRUF to
- 51:31Speaker 2: what USF did to Bois of State and tenors are
- 51:34Speaker 2: going up down and was a Gainesville where they played
- 51:36Speaker 2: down in Gainesville, Florida, where they're like, hey, listen. I
- 51:39Speaker 2: know we got this big schedule coming up with LSU
- 51:41Speaker 2: all these guys, but this team just beat the brakes
- 51:43Speaker 2: off of Boise State. I could see it.
- 51:45Speaker 3: I could pick that up.
- 51:46Speaker 2: I'll go I'll go USF Wow.
- 51:50Speaker 3: Wow.
- 51:51Speaker 2: I mean to be honestly, if I was sitting in
- 51:52Speaker 2: your seat, I would go with the with the commissioner himself.
- 51:55Speaker 1: Also, yeah, I don't feel all confident like and you
- 51:58Speaker 1: know I sense that I love his confidence.
- 52:00Speaker 2: I listen. It can go either way here. You could
- 52:03Speaker 2: just take a two. SF could cover just Florida could
- 52:05Speaker 2: cover well, the plassification of America taking the totals and
- 52:11Speaker 2: every game I like them both or both to go.
- 52:13Speaker 2: Let us come during our scring tour. Will come see
- 52:15Speaker 2: you guys. I'll take the under.
- 52:17Speaker 1: The one point I liked was again at LSU next
- 52:20Speaker 1: week and uh.
- 52:21Speaker 3: And at Miami Miami back to back roads.
- 52:23Speaker 1: This could be you know, usually trap games come later
- 52:26Speaker 1: in the year, but this could be like an overlooking
- 52:28Speaker 1: coach is gonna try to keep the assholes tight. But
- 52:30Speaker 1: at the end of the day, when you're you got
- 52:31Speaker 1: a roster like that, like, yeah, here's how I think
- 52:34Speaker 1: of it. I'm gonna go UCF to cover.
- 52:35Speaker 3: I think about Florida. I think about Florida. Everything you
- 52:38Speaker 3: said is right. Florida is up like thirty one to
- 52:40Speaker 3: three games in hand midway through third quarter. It's just
- 52:44Speaker 3: the kind of backdoor thing. US is not gonna stop
- 52:46Speaker 3: playing because they need to earn style points because they
- 52:50Speaker 3: could be the G five team whose resume is being
- 52:52Speaker 3: looked at and so getting in just under that seventeen number.
- 52:55Speaker 3: It's not the kind of thing where I'm thinking, oh,
- 52:57Speaker 3: it's shot for shot and then Florida pulls away late.
- 53:00Speaker 3: It's the kind of thing where Florida pulls away early
- 53:02Speaker 3: and then Lagway's not in the game anymore and they're
- 53:05Speaker 3: trying to rest up.
- 53:06Speaker 2: It's a that's a it's a good point. It's the
- 53:08Speaker 2: back door cover is it is highly likely in a
- 53:11Speaker 2: game like this because of what you have on deck. Yeah,
- 53:14Speaker 2: you want to get your stars out as fast as possible.
- 53:16Speaker 2: If it goes the way you're saying it can go,
- 53:18Speaker 2: still give me the Gators.
- 53:21Speaker 1: Gatis Gatis battle for the state. I would Iowa State.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Iowa State favored by two and a half in this game.
- 53:28Speaker 1: The over under on this game is forty one and
- 53:31Speaker 1: a half points. That seems like a carrot.
- 53:34Speaker 2: Do you take the over? Never take the over, Never
- 53:37Speaker 2: take I will never take the over. Dead taxes and
- 53:41Speaker 2: Phil Parker's defense, that's fucking always a guarantee that Iowa's
- 53:44Speaker 2: defense is gonna be good. I looked at this game
- 53:47Speaker 2: after watching Roco backed against Kansas State, and I was like, oh,
- 53:49Speaker 2: I really like Rocko back, and then you see Kansas
- 53:51Speaker 2: State and you're like and maybe like, I don't. I
- 53:53Speaker 2: don't know a whole lot about Iowa State, but I
- 53:55Speaker 2: know a lot about Iowa. I know they got a
- 53:56Speaker 2: bunch of corn fed boys out there. They're gonna play
- 53:59Speaker 2: sound defense, gonna be hogs in the middle. They got
- 54:01Speaker 2: two guys returning, Logan Jones and Jenny Dunker, who are
- 54:04Speaker 2: all bag ten guys. Initially I look at it, I'm like, dude,
- 54:07Speaker 2: this is this is got Iowa all the way I
- 54:09Speaker 2: get on the old computer there dial up internet where
- 54:11Speaker 2: they're talking about this Mark Gronowski kid that they're really
- 54:14Speaker 2: excited about who generational talent Generation talent just transferred one
- 54:18Speaker 2: two national championships, and I'm like, oh my god, is
- 54:20Speaker 2: Iowa canna have a passing game that's that's unbelievable. Then
- 54:23Speaker 2: they play Albany or whoever they play. Read it read
- 54:26Speaker 2: it's eight for fifteen, forty four yards in a touchdown.
- 54:30Speaker 2: Tell me this. You could take John Mattier in Iowa uniform.
- 54:36Speaker 2: He's gonna have forty four yards. Is how Iowa works.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Someone said, I hoped that Mark Gronowski would happen to Iowa. Instead,
- 54:45Speaker 2: Iowa has happened to markin no doubt. And you see him.
- 54:47Speaker 2: He does his postgame press conference and it's like, yeah,
- 54:50Speaker 2: I gotta be better. Happy we got the win. It's
- 54:51Speaker 2: like Iowa, Iowa, Iowa. Everything we're saying is like Kirk
- 54:55Speaker 2: fans never allow you to be like one of those quarterbacks.
- 54:59Speaker 1: But honey, bro because the internet almost broke when he
- 55:01Speaker 1: threw his five yard out of They're like, oh, I
- 55:04Speaker 1: always got a quarterback.
- 55:05Speaker 2: This year. We're going like two years championship with a
- 55:10Speaker 2: ten pounds quarterback. Like he's big as ship, but he can't.
- 55:12Speaker 3: Throw it you ever, and happy go more. When they're
- 55:15Speaker 3: trying to get him under control and he winds up
- 55:17Speaker 3: he's about to throw the putter, and then he looks
- 55:19Speaker 3: over and the Virginia lady goes, yeah, and then he
- 55:22Speaker 3: reins it in. That's what throwing the pass is like.
- 55:24Speaker 3: And I was off, he's.
- 55:26Speaker 2: About to get a twenty plus yarder because he's rocking
- 55:28Speaker 2: the eleven. He kind of gives you Carson Wins vibes. Yeah,
- 55:31Speaker 2: like twenty pounds heavy. He puts his head down like
- 55:33Speaker 2: he's a hard nose cat. He's never gonna come out
- 55:35Speaker 2: of the game even if his legs bolt to get
- 55:36Speaker 2: out of his legs. No, no, don't play. Take a sack,
- 55:38Speaker 2: ground upon it.
- 55:40Speaker 3: We're gonna got to have fifty three rushes, three hundred
- 55:45Speaker 3: and ten yards and three times.
- 55:46Speaker 2: Bro Yes, I mean a little tricky dude. I mean yeah,
- 55:51Speaker 2: it's gonna be I got Iowa State. I think a
- 55:53Speaker 2: rocco back dude. He's played you know, two games, one
- 55:56Speaker 2: overseas against Kansas State. I think it's like his poison
- 56:00Speaker 2: in the pocket, his on timing throws where he's putting
- 56:03Speaker 2: the ball like they're running the ball well with a
- 56:05Speaker 2: boo sama, like they put him in a wildcat every
- 56:08Speaker 2: once in a while when they get in that red
- 56:09Speaker 2: zone and it's like they have a team that's like, oh,
- 56:12Speaker 2: this is might be your baate twelve champion. They got
- 56:14Speaker 2: a tight end and I hate telling you this that
- 56:16Speaker 2: I hate. It's not even only a stat. Benjamin Bayer,
- 56:18Speaker 2: he's a six savy. He was a freshman All American.
- 56:21Speaker 2: He was he was committed to Nebraska. He had injury
- 56:25Speaker 2: last year. This is his third year. When they asked
- 56:27Speaker 2: him why he flipped his commit his answer was, it's
- 56:32Speaker 2: because I don't believe in the coaching stat that's coming
- 56:34Speaker 2: in Nebraska.
- 56:38Speaker 1: That was and right now, as far as I know,
- 56:40Speaker 1: he's been proven, wrongs are.
- 56:44Speaker 2: That's not a real stat. I made that whole. He
- 56:46Speaker 2: was already said it's not real. Just say that's not
- 56:54Speaker 2: a real staff. Hey, he was committed Nebraska. He did
- 56:58Speaker 2: flip the But also I always State's got a kicker
- 57:01Speaker 2: who just bombed the sixty three yard Dude, give me
- 57:03Speaker 2: I Aowa State covering covering this. That's so funny. The
- 57:07Speaker 2: stuff that was going through man was already wrong. We
- 57:12Speaker 2: were walking at Will Compton to kind of lose his
- 57:14Speaker 2: cool single show We're gonna have a good We're.
- 57:17Speaker 1: Gonna have a good twenty weeks. I was already face
- 57:19Speaker 1: to face with its defender from Cincinnati. If you go
- 57:22Speaker 1: check out the vlog. We just dropped. I'm like pregame
- 57:24Speaker 1: face to face talking about it's gonna be a long day.
- 57:28Speaker 2: He's like talking to me, Oh yeah. But we were
- 57:31Speaker 2: talking to the Cincinnati players and then one of us
- 57:33Speaker 2: at one point step back and be like, we're in
- 57:35Speaker 2: our mid thirties. It's just like and you gotta go back, like, hey,
- 57:40Speaker 2: I'm really sorry about that. Sound's kinda fucking around. As
- 57:42Speaker 2: we're driving to get one guy said it's gonna be
- 57:44Speaker 2: a long day. He looked at me, he's been beat
- 57:46Speaker 2: my ass, And I thought to myself, he probably could.
- 57:48Speaker 2: It was taller ship. That was that twenty three or
- 57:50Speaker 2: something like that. It was a big boy, big boy,
- 57:52Speaker 2: big boy. I like Iowa. I will ship. I like
- 57:56Speaker 2: I win this game.
- 57:57Speaker 1: Like really, I just like a gritty I like a
- 58:00Speaker 1: gritty win mud truck on fresh clay type of run game,
- 58:04Speaker 1: punt the ball well, defense wins your game. In their
- 58:08Speaker 1: last ten, i was seven to three in their last
- 58:11Speaker 1: five at home.
- 58:13Speaker 2: Iowa State is zero to five against Iowa. That's true.
- 58:16Speaker 1: This is a this is a factual stat. Now, I
- 58:19Speaker 1: like Iowa again. For me, Iowa State, they win this game.
- 58:26Speaker 1: They're onto something with this staff. If they start, they
- 58:32Speaker 1: got a shot and stick with me here.
- 58:35Speaker 5: But look, every con stick with me here or listen after.
- 58:45Speaker 2: This is a factual. Stat it's it's not one of
- 58:48Speaker 2: those other ones. A factual you gotta find it.
- 58:55Speaker 1: I said there, I thought it was Bill Gomms, he
- 58:59Speaker 1: said the Reigndom.
- 59:00Speaker 2: They're only something. I'm thinking, what is that Willie Brown
- 59:04Speaker 2: stuff Man's always That was the most Yeah, you got
- 59:11Speaker 2: ioland I got it you talking.
- 59:13Speaker 3: About I do like, I like, I gotta stop, man,
- 59:18Speaker 3: I gotta stop.
- 59:19Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 59:22Speaker 1: But what I meant was like to hear it flying
- 59:25Speaker 1: over to where they play at Ireland handling business. You
- 59:28Speaker 1: see Kansas State have a hangover last week, like after
- 59:31Speaker 1: coming back from island. You know how it is traveling
- 59:33Speaker 1: overseas and playing games after that. We usually get a
- 59:35Speaker 1: bye week in the NFL to playing overseas anymore. But
- 59:38Speaker 1: handling business the way I always they did last week,
- 59:40Speaker 1: I'm like, are they going to have like a hangover
- 59:42Speaker 1: his game, like coming back from being across the pond.
- 59:45Speaker 1: And if they don't, they beat I when they control
- 59:47Speaker 1: the border. Because I was gonna be a tough team
- 59:49Speaker 1: this year. They'll probably be like a four four three
- 59:52Speaker 1: lost team like they always are, but they win that game.
- 59:55Speaker 1: I'm just telling you that you had a recipe over
- 59:58Speaker 1: there with I got I like, I win this game fashion.
- 1:00:02Speaker 2: What was the total points in that game? Forty one
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: and a half. It's low. I kind of like the
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: over because of Rocco. So drop us another stat with
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: them with the twenty one to number Iowa thirty three
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: and one when they scored twenty one since twenty twenty.
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: So do they get to twenty one, They're onto something.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: If they do, they're onto something.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: They want something like Gronowski. He gets twenty one on
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: the board there. Yeah, passing yards are points. He might
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: not get twenty one passing yards. Yeah, my brain is
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: working one step floor. So in that Ireland game.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: In that Ireland game, Kansas State hit two explosive pasttds.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: So if they can do that, it's it's Iowa's game.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: I don't know that they can do that some of
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: Lee and Iowa State. That home curse against this team's
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: been real though. Yeah, so like last time I was,
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: I've only been to this game once. It was at
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: Iowa State, huge hype game. Ashton Kutcher's there it's a
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: really big deal. And they turned it over like four
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: times that day. I always got this habit in this
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: game of just waiting to hand to get have the
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: game handed to him, and so like that's where I
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: got to trust Rock go back. But I do trust
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: him in this game taking to win close talent. Yes,
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: let's go.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: I like, oh god, that would hurt. Holy shit, dude.
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: This is the main event of the evening. Is the
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: main event of the evening. We got the true classic
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: game of the week ever since it's got game, but
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: only one fit is just right, and this is the
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: true classic game of the week. I am wearing the
- 1:01:18Speaker 2: true classic pants right now, thirty six thirty six. If
- 1:01:21Speaker 2: you're wondering, a little scooched up around my cross right now,
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: but usually you're not even seeing the link. It's very nice.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: They fit perfectly. Hey, we have this episode to bring
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: you true classic. Come about the pimast shirts. I'm wearing
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: that bad boy right now. It's got a little curve
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: on the side, grabs the arms, grab his shoulders. Say
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: this chest right here. I don't got a big chest,
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: but with this shirt on you might I might be
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: able to distract you a little bit. You can find
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: True Classic at Amazon and Costco, Sam's Club and Target nationwide,
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: or online at true classic dot com for its lash bustin,
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: look good, feel good, play good. Let's get back this
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: episode the game this week, number fifteen, Michigan in Norman, Oklahoma.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Bryce Underwood takes on John Myteer. Michigan is dog at
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: five and a half points total points to night. There's
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: no way the total points in this game is forty
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: five and a half. Buddy, it's forty five and a half.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: And I love it. I bet you do. Everybody and
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: their mother has sat there and told me about Norman, Oklahoma.
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: We got in March. People in Oklahoma sat and said, oh,
- 1:02:20Speaker 2: we're gonna suck. They're not good. It's gonna be a
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: whole year. John Matier, we got it, but who knows.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Something happened. There's a brewing all of a sudden where
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: we get two weeks away from the season. All of
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: a sudden, Oklahoma is like the greatest things in slice spread.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: John Mattier is the greatest quarterback. He's a generational He's
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: a generational quarterbacks. Generational quarterback. That's what they're saying about
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: John Metier and go back and look at him at
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Washington say, this guy's a fucking dog. He puts something
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: numbers every single I went back and looked at John Metier.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: I went back and looked at him. Twenty towy two
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: red shirt wasn't good enough to do on the field.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Twenty three sat behind cam Ward picked this kid apart. Yeah,
- 1:02:52Speaker 2: twenty twenty four, they played one ranked game. They played
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: one ring game. That was September twenty eighth. That was
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: against State. Yeah, he had his numbers. He passed for
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: over three hundred yards in that game. They lost. But
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: also Boise State was the third worst and pass defense
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: in the Mountain West. Ye. Then they have to go
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: oh no, on the road against you know, the freight
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: train of Fresno State. They got that dub twenty five seventeen.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: That one must have been a real barn burner for
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: your boy Matier. Hawaii at Washington State, my god, forty
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: two to ten. They really craked it up on them.
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: Then Utah State where they won forty nine to twenty nine.
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: And then who they lose to the same team that
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: Michigan just beat the breaks off of last week in
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: New Mexico, who went five and seven last year. People
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: want to talk about Bryce Underwood. Yeah, he just turned
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: eighteen about fourteen days ago, and now this is the
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: biggest game of his life, and it is because he's
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: a freshman, But this is also John Matteer's biggest game
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: of his entire life. The pressure is on Oklahoma. I
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: don't think it would disagree with you. Then a ball.
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: He's got a hell of a defense on him. But
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: if they don't win this game in Norman, they're in hell.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: They're calling for him, they're getting they're getting the shackles
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: and chains out, they're setting his ass out of Norman.
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: If they lose this game, the pressure is on Oklahoma.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Ohlma could not run the ball against an FSC FC
- 1:04:03Speaker 2: f C school, Illinois State. They had one hundred yards
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: rushing their freshman quarterback, freshman running back. We rushed for
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: forty four yards. Mission's got a run game, they've got
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: a defense. Where the two things you pack when you
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: go away, you pack a run game and you pack
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: a defense. I like my Wolverine's money line. Make sure
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: that's in my lector two money round.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: I just, first of all, just the recap, where did
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: a materia play out Washington State. Yeah, you recap the
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Washington State season talking about Oklahoma Sooners like this is
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: a different roster.
- 1:04:33Speaker 2: They got the roster. Yeah, you want to talk about
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: Oklahoma Sumers. Their office line, they were zero for three
- 1:04:38Speaker 2: on third and fourth down with three three starters out.
- 1:04:43Speaker 2: They don't like the leanon guys. Their Their defense is
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: great in the middle. They have a good, great dtackle.
- 1:04:49Speaker 2: But when you talk about trenches best on best, you
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: take in the mazing blue because they're not you think
- 1:04:55Speaker 2: they're gonna they have. Michigan has eight guys and I'm
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: not talking about a front seven plus a guy. They
- 1:04:59Speaker 2: have eight guys on the defensive line that they love
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: and they love to rotate out that. They all have
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: a lot of talent that can go and stay fresh
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: in a game in Norman, Oklahoma, and put the pressure
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: on this offensive line. John Mattier is gonna get his
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: no doubt about it. He's gonna have a couple of
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: great passes. He's gonna run the ball really well. But
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: when it comes down to themorrow of it all, Michigan
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: does an amazing job of exploiting your weaknesses and when
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: the pressure is on them, they have never been a
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: team to fold. There are underdogs by twenty points against
- 1:05:27Speaker 2: Ohio State when they couldn't throw the ball. They were
- 1:05:30Speaker 2: hated and torn apart about cheating, and then they had
- 1:05:33Speaker 2: to go play Penn State, Maryland, Ohio State, Alabama, and
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: then Washington win the national championship. It is in the
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: blood of the University of Michigan. Like them or hate them.
- 1:05:40Speaker 2: When it's pressure in their backs against the wall, they
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: swing no matter what. That's what I like about Michigan
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: over Oklahoma. Let me know what I can get him
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: in it. I mean I got. I mean, you could
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: just say who you got. I love the over in
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: this game.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: I was gonna say, you're right if you talk about
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: packing a run game in defense, outside of explosive runs
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: for Michigan, they had a couple or a few. They're averaging, yes,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: averaging three point three yards. Procure played this night New Mexico,
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: who was the one hundred and thirtieth ranked defense last
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: year out of one hundred and thirty two teams in
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: college football. I agree this is the biggest game for
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: both teams. This is hard for me to pick with
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: the line being a five and a half. I'm not
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: riding against you. So if I love anything in this game,
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: I'm going to say over it, because forty five and
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: a half for me, that one feels like Fando's giftings.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Tell them that's what it feels like to me. John Matteer,
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: Bryce Underwood.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: I love how Michigan went into the game last week
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: and had an identity and a game plan of what
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: they wanted to do with them as far as moving
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: the pocket easier throws. They didn't run them at all,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: and uh, let the old line eat like again, figure
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: out what you're gonna be going in in Norman. They
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: were exactly who they wanted to be that game. Bryce Underwood,
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: he is a freak.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: He jumped out on tape, so does what could he
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: possibly be?
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: He's a generational talent. He's a generational talent. John Metier
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: generational talent. Both great quarterbacks. I'm excited to watch this game.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: I'm excited to see Bryce Underwood at Norman against an
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: Oklahoma team that seems to be getting a lot of
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: love from the national media.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: They do have a really good football team. I love
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: the over in this game, so I am going the
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: over all.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Right, Michigan's got this DNA that travels fact check true,
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: venables huge pressure cooker game fact check also true. Two
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: potentially generational quarterbacks with the way we define the word
- 1:07:34Speaker 3: fact check true. Okay, So I think because both of
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: them are put in a situation. Both quarterbacks putting a
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: situation here they've never been in before. Matiers never faced
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: this level of competition or the spot. Underwood just started
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: playing college football five minutes ago, so neither one of
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: them have been in this position, high leverage situation. I
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: think it's right for quarterback mistakes to decide a game.
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: And I cannot believe this number is only forty five
- 1:07:54Speaker 3: and a half. I think it should be upper forties.
- 1:07:56Speaker 3: And so I think short fields are going to be
- 1:07:59Speaker 3: more plentiful and are expected in a normal football game.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: I I'm gonna slightly lean Oklahoma. I think the numbers right.
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: So I got really no feel on the spread. I
- 1:08:08Speaker 3: love the over. What's the what's your model have for
- 1:08:11Speaker 3: the right at five? Oklahoma minus five, Oklahoma winning by five? Yeahint, Yeah,
- 1:08:15Speaker 3: So I got no feel on that, but like you
- 1:08:18Speaker 3: may very well be right. I've watched Michigan do that
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: too many times, so I'm not betting against them. I
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: just think someone's someone's finding a way to twenty eight
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: thirty one something like that to win this game. So
- 1:08:28Speaker 3: Dion Burk's that wide receiver for Oklahoma. Can't wait to
- 1:08:31Speaker 3: watch him. Could be a difference maker in the game.
- 1:08:33Speaker 3: And I mean Oklahoma's missed three offensive lineman last week.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: I don't know that they get him all back. They
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: didn't start the cow running back transfer last week. There's
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: a lot of speculation about whether he'll play this week.
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: What's his workload? Give me the over, Give me Oklahoma slightly,
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: give me the over.
- 1:08:48Speaker 2: We have a guy like that too, like Burke is
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: even saw Morgan number zero. Yup. He's a jet sweet guy.
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: A lot of punt return kick return guy. Chip Lindsay
- 1:08:54Speaker 2: comes in. He's now raving. This kid can actually run routs.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: He understands concepts. He's tough as nails, he's fast as shit.
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: We got one to We got one to hope scores cowards,
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: both of you. I want to pick. This is my
- 1:09:09Speaker 2: team's biggest game of the year. Gayeah, it's bigger New
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: Mexico Oklahoma. Hey, hey, buddy, listen, I'm riding with Michigan.
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: I want you guys to win as far as me
- 1:09:21Speaker 2: picking a game that's new. What you know, I like that,
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: I appreciate, I love it. Listen, I've rooted it for
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: Michigan on several occasions. Don't do this. I have, you know,
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: big sec big I've said, I've said, yeah, I've said
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: will was on the allegation portion of Michigan was Willie Brown. Yeah,
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: I'm still on the allegation that the cheating stuff.
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: I still think your trash, hate your program. I'm pulling
- 1:09:53Speaker 3: for him though.
- 1:09:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm still doing will Is that also you? Honestly,
- 1:09:58Speaker 2: I don't know that's why you're bulletproof. I don't know
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: that's why you're bulletproof. And I need to draw a
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: line in the same for me and I need I
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: need Michigan to be undefeated when they come into Lincoln.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: So yeah, I want Michigan win this game.
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: Oh you want to pad the resume this game?
- 1:10:15Speaker 2: Yes, I do. Why do I not? You? Because you
- 1:10:17Speaker 2: want to feel confident about Nebraska goes into Norman, Oklahoma.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: Because that's like, yeah, like you're going into a hostile environment,
- 1:10:24Speaker 2: a team that feels really good about themselves, a fan
- 1:10:25Speaker 2: base that feels good about a team kind of and
- 1:10:28Speaker 2: it's like the if you are the casual fan, you're
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: looking at if you're not, if you're not a Michigan fan,
- 1:10:32Speaker 2: you're looking Oklahoma and being like, that's the team that's
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: going to win this game. And it's like if Michigan
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: does do what a lot of people think they can't do,
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: and Bryce Underwood is as advertising what he's been paid,
- 1:10:43Speaker 2: then you're sitting in and we're talking about strictly bust
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: and bowl. We're shitting our pants a little bit. If
- 1:10:48Speaker 2: you're in Lincoln, Nebraska, No, bro, I want to see
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: like the big the thing that what what go?
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: I want to hear the revotal I love this.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: I mean no, I mean if you love Yeah.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: I want Nebraska to be a great football program. The
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: schedule that we have this year is very favorable. But
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: I don't want like if you guys get beat and
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: it's like an ugly loss against Oklahoma and we end
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: up beating you guys on September twentieth, like I still
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: don't know what we got and I don't want it
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: to wait until USC or Penn State and then we
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: get whooped and it's like, you know, you got this
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: fodder you got this. Oh we're undefeated, but we're not
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: really an undefeated football team. I want you guys to
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: be good. So we are playing against a good team
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: on September twentieth.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: Win Luke's draw. I want to know what we got
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: in Lincoln Bruin and Lincoln Nebraska. So you're wrong.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: I want you guys to play well. I want Bryce
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: Underwood to be as advertised. I want to taste that
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: competition on September twentieth.
- 1:11:46Speaker 2: I welcome it.
- 1:11:47Speaker 3: I want it to Warriors mentality. Not a lot of
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: it left out there. I think you're in the minority.
- 1:11:53Speaker 3: Not a lot of it left. It's a generational mentality.
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: A lot of guys you said out here and say
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: that you probably back love the over. Yeah, do what well?
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: Sprinkle Michigan plus five and a half. Yeah, I'll sprinkle
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: for you. But I'm streaming if we're talking the game. Yeah, absolutely, dude,
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: I'm gonna be rooting for you, guys. I'm gonna be
- 1:12:15Speaker 2: rooting for you guys. Was a little different than the
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: last couple of years. Like you've looked at me in
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: the eyes on that bus and said, I want Michigan
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: because bro, there's just an arrogance the Michigan men can
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: have about themselves. I don't disagree. I'm one of them. Yeah.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: Yeah, to where it's like the padding on the Nebraska
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: and let's make Nebraska mediocre again.
- 1:12:35Speaker 2: It's like, nah, okay, yeah, this is this Isail, this
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: is Wilcompton coming from an abusive relationship, portannoid coming to
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: me and two point zero as well. Well, listen when
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: you're when you were when I'm in Lincoln and we
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: were playing for the bust and Bowl. Yeah, I'm gonna
- 1:12:52Speaker 2: talk down to you a little bit, just like you
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: talk that we got sixty minutes and your heart turned black.
- 1:12:57Speaker 2: Ideas a good speech is a great can help we lost.
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: That was a I'm just saying, like Dave can do
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: with Dave wants in that situation. And yeah, have a
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: high A couple of sprinkles of Dave on you, no doubt.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: But I haven't been that to you. You're not him,
- 1:13:10Speaker 2: I'm not Dave. And I've also consistently rooted for Nebraska.
- 1:13:15Speaker 2: Are you sprinkling Michigan?
- 1:13:16Speaker 3: If you give me five and a half, I'll sprinkle Michigan.
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: I mean it's there, it's the I'll.
- 1:13:20Speaker 3: Sprinkle Michigan, I will hammer the over, Okay, So whatever
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: you do, score thirty when you do it.
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: Yeah, this is a good game for you. Could you
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: imagine Bryce Underwood like just being the generational quarterback.
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: You wouldn't be alone using that word if he goes
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: in there and wins like that. This is this is
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: the same guy Rent Vivenables who watched Tua smoke the
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: SEC all year, get him in a national championship game,
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: lull him into a fallse sense of security between the twenties,
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: and just dominate him down in the red zone. That's
- 1:13:49Speaker 3: why I think rushing yards is not actually the most
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: important thing here. This is one of those like Penn
- 1:13:53Speaker 3: State Ohio State situations. Penn State runs the ball for
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: two hundred, still loses on Ohio State because between the
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: twenties they get theirs field compressed says they can't do
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: anything down in the red area. That's Britain Venable's entire mo.
- 1:14:03Speaker 3: So like, I want to see Michigan because they're gonna
- 1:14:05Speaker 3: be about three or four situations they get plus territory
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: they get down inside the twenty decision making there. How
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: much did they trust Underwood on the road Michigan's staff
- 1:14:13Speaker 3: and what can Britain venables do to him because that's
- 1:14:15Speaker 3: really probably where our total is decided. That's absolutely where
- 1:14:18Speaker 3: the game is decided. Jayshawn Barrom garbage, not him. The
- 1:14:22Speaker 3: call the garbage, okay, ridiculous.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: It was absolute ridiculous. Then they went to appeal and
- 1:14:28Speaker 2: they're like, nope, Big ten even shut it down. And
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: it's like, you can't tell me. That's a little bit
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: of what targeting.
- 1:14:32Speaker 3: Is really broken in college football, really broken.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: It's broken. You want to call that roughing. It's a
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: heartbreaking loss, and that is I mean, that was the drive.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: There was three separate penalties on third down, so that
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: was a stripsack phone before brought by for a touchdown.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: They called that targeting the new set of downs. Then
- 1:14:49Speaker 2: they're in third and twelve, then of getting another penalty,
- 1:14:53Speaker 2: getting in the first and ten, which had let them
- 1:14:54Speaker 2: get another seven points, which when you look at the
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: box score, that's you're like, Okay, Michigan maybe not had
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: the best day ever. I think defense were salt, but
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: we're very vanilla on both sides of the ball.
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: I'm excited, agreed, I'm jack, I'm going I'm Jack I know.
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: I'm kind of jealous. You're going bust and Bowl.
- 1:15:11Speaker 3: He's talking about it.
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: Are you going to the bust and Bowl? And are
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: you going to my birthday?
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: When's your birthday?
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: September nineteenth, it's on a Friday. That's where the live
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: show is. We've got bust and Ball in September twentieth.
- 1:15:22Speaker 3: I'm gonna I'm gonna verbally commit to your birthday. That's
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: a verbal, that's a that's a soft verbal. Yeah, I've
- 1:15:32Speaker 3: missed so many of those birthdays. I can't miss them.
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: Not this year. The week. Yeah, you hit your dog outright, outright,
- 1:15:43Speaker 2: didn't even need the points. I may need the point
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: a statement. Win still looks to stay on your win
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: loss record.
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: You were cruising, you get bit, you got the big
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: new kickoff game hostate Texas. Midway through the game, it's like,
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: oh us f yeah, boy, we were standing at this.
- 1:15:56Speaker 3: We were standing in the stadium looking at the looking
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: at the thing because I had Syracuse plus the points
- 1:15:59Speaker 3: to you and me and you were going back and forth.
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: Tennessee took the lead. Q s back in the leagues
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: were found out. The scoreboard was broken. Yeah, we was
- 1:16:07Speaker 2: just pulling Jack Yeah. We went out and we're like,
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: Jackie okay is yeah, it's a great day. Right, you
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: see the score. What happened defensive? He's like, we're playing
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: pretty good.
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: I'm like, we scored multiple times.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: Yeah, because we thought it was like twenty four to
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: twenty one. Bolts back and forth. Jack was like, it's
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: twenty four to seven or something like that. Yeah, oh shit, yeah,
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: all right, my fault dog of the week. I'll be quick, Charlotte.
- 1:16:28Speaker 2: I got them plus twelve and a half against UNC
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: Bill Belichick, his girlfriend stilettos on the sideline next to
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: the players. Unless you're a cheerleader, doesn't work. It's not
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: gonna happen. No disrespect to Bill Belichick. I love him.
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: I love what he did this with the Patriots for
- 1:16:41Speaker 2: as long as you did. But you hear the things
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: with the five star recruits coming in and they're wait
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: an hour, hour and a half for Bill Belichick that
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: it turns out you can't go see Bill Belichick. Let's
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: take you to the airport. Yeah, all of those things,
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: and then you see the result on the field. It's
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: going to be a very short tenure for Bill Belichick.
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: I got Charlotte covering twelve and a half.
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: My dog is gonna be the Army plus seventeen and
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: a half. When you don't know what to do, who
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: do you pick? You pick your country? Yeah, Kansas State.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: What they put on film in the last two weeks,
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: I have zero reason to think they're gonna cover seventeen
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: and a half against Army.
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: So I'm choosing the country. Army plus seventeen and a half.
- 1:17:13Speaker 2: Shout out every Johnson's family their fist fight on the horizon.
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: Pobvious family too getting in fights after that. Yeah, but
- 1:17:18Speaker 2: I heard povious family was like protecting their brother. I
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: think that's as povey as you can get. I'm messed
- 1:17:23Speaker 2: with it. Yeah, like they were tarps off Bandana's on.
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: They're out there getting you know, full Nelson's chokes.
- 1:17:29Speaker 3: I'm gonna go to James Madison do what Army did.
- 1:17:33Speaker 3: Just lose to an FCS team.
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: That's not a way to support your country, Mitch. Wow,
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: Like no one's history is perfect. Yeah, yeah, exactly. We
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: did some bad ship, but we're still the best.
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: Kimme me James Madison plus thirteen and a half against Louisville.
- 1:17:51Speaker 2: Yeah, Jam you fight song just went on. Yeah, good timing, Delaney.
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: That was beautiful.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: JMU thirteen and a half against Louisville. They lose by
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: about ten.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: Quick party, break the shut up. Boosting with the Boys.
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: If you don't already know, the Boys have a fifty
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: percent profit boost token available every college football Saturday. That's

- 1:18:21Speaker 2: I'm taking Illinois minus two and a half. I love
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: this pick pick. I love this pick because Josh Peyton
- 1:18:26Speaker 2: won the pick. I already took it. Then will Compton
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: want to pick it? Finally, go I already took it. Dude,
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: you played your you paid your quarterback a billion dollars.
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: I don't think it's enough. I think Illinois is kind
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: of a disrespected team in the Big Ten. Ye have
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: points two points. Take that Run with it boys, Run
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: with it, Bilama.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: Hey love that pick. I'm going o miss MYNX ten
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: and a half revenge game. He gets Kentucky ten and

- 1:18:53Speaker 2: I had to watch that game with Mincey after surrounding
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: Barstow when we eliminated, and he, I swear to God,
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: We're sitting in the house and he goes Taylor. I'm
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: telling you right now, Ole miss is going to kill Kentucky.

- 1:19:13Speaker 2: didn't watch too many Rocky movies. Be like, hell yeah,
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: did you think about that fan base? How pissed off
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: Mincey was? That's what you need going into this. Did
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: you watch the game with him? Oh? I was get
- 1:19:22Speaker 2: with him. I actually had to go into a different room.
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: He must have sounded like a jackhammer operator.
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: But what do we do now? Everything was just the
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: most dramatic thing ever. Three yard games weren't good enough?
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: Mad Yeah, uh give me SMU minus two and a
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: half against Baylor. Baylor's gonna start going too, Smu. You
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: want to talk about disrespected Illinois?
