of the day for applying God's word in
• 0:08
your life so let's huddle up and hear
• 0:11
today's play from Matthew 21 which says
• 0:14
"Jesus said to them have you never read
• 0:16
in the scriptures the stone the builders
• 0:18
rejected has become the cornerstone the
• 0:21
Lord has done this and it's marvelous in
• 0:23
our eyes therefore I tell you that the
• 0:25
kingdom of God will be taken away from
• 0:27
you and given to a people who will
• 0:29
produce its fruit anyone who falls on
• 0:32
this stone will be broken to pieces
• 0:35
anyone on whom it falls will be crushed
• 0:37
when the chief priests and the Pharisees
• 0:39
heard Jesus's parables they knew he was
• 0:42
talking about them easter is also the
• 0:46
  celebration of Passover and for
• 0:49
Christians it's the final Passover at
• 0:52
this supper Jesus God himself took the
• 0:55
final cup and announced a new covenant
• 0:57
in his blood this new covenant is the
• 1:00
fulfillment of the old covenant its
• 1:02
completion and its conclusion the new
• 1:05
covenant is the operating system God is
• 1:08
currently using to reconcile all people
• 1:11
to himself this covenant is through
• 1:13
Jesus the covenant requires all people
• 1:16
  everywhere to repent from their
• 1:18
disobedience to God both the breaking of
• 1:21
his commands and the ignoring by failure
• 1:24
to perform his commands this covenant
• 1:27
requires belief or faith that Jesus died
• 1:29
for all the sins of all humanity as a
• 1:32
sacrifice on the cross so that all
• 1:35
humanity could be pardoned by God for
• 1:37
all their sins against him it's a belief
• 1:41
that humanity has no means for
• 1:43
reconciling with God apart from the
• 1:45
sacrifice of Jesus and it's faith that
• 1:48
his resurrection is proof that his
• 1:51
sacrifice was accepted by God making his
• 1:54
promise of life eternal with him certain
• 1:57
it is faith and belief that by asking
• 2:00
  God's forgiveness repentance and
• 2:02
believing in Jesus's work at the cross
• 2:05
that we will be reconciled to God
• 2:07
pardoned from all of our sins and made
• 2:09
children of God to live forever with him
• 2:12
as our father these aspects of
• 2:15
repentance and belief are verified in
• 2:17
our lives by obedience to everything
• 2:20
Jesus commands it's working to produce
• 2:23
fruit in keeping with repentance it's a
• 2:25
life of going to those who deny Jesus
• 2:28
sharing the truth of Jesus's life death
• 2:31
and resurrection with them and then
• 2:33
  teaching obedience to everything Jesus
• 2:35
commands to all those who receive him as
• 2:38
their savior and lord the people of God
• 2:41
are all those but only those who have
• 2:44
humbled themselves before Jesus as their
• 2:46
God their savior their lord and their
