- 0:21Speaker 1: All right, everybody, you're listening to Eagles postgame analysis here
- 0:24Speaker 1: at the Philadelphia Sports Table podcast show, the longest running
- 0:27Speaker 1: weekly Philly sports podcast show in the world. Blah blah,
- 0:29Speaker 1: blah blah blah. Who fucking cares after this piece of
- 0:32Speaker 1: dog shit game where the Eagles lose in Week four
- 0:36Speaker 1: of this twenty twenty four twenty twenty five season to
- 0:38Speaker 1: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by a score of thirty three
- 0:41Speaker 1: to sixteen. I can't believe they actually scored sixteen points.
- 0:44Speaker 1: I can't believe the Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't actually put
- 0:46Speaker 1: up over sixty points on this Eagles defense. I'm Jeff Warren.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I'm here at my buddy, Eric Leonard. I don't know
- 0:53Speaker 1: how long this is gonna go, Eric, but we'll get
- 0:56Speaker 1: into themes from this week's game, talk a little defense, offense,
- 1:00Speaker 1: and get into some shitty special teams too. Even though
- 1:03Speaker 1: they did have an extra point blocked by Isaiah Rodgers
- 1:05Speaker 1: and he turned by Kailey Ringo for two points in
- 1:07Speaker 1: the third quarter. Whooo great, whatever, oh my god, themes
- 1:12Speaker 1: from this game, I guess, buddy. We got to start
- 1:14Speaker 1: off by the fact that yes, aj Brown still out
- 1:17Speaker 1: Davonte Smith out with a concussion, Lan Johnson out with
- 1:20Speaker 1: a concussion. They were all out injuries in this game.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Reid blank and Ship went out with an illness in
- 1:25Speaker 1: the first half. Cam Jurgens Mkai Beckton. They were out
- 1:28Speaker 1: in the fourth quarter for a bit. I'm not actually
- 1:30Speaker 1: not even sure if they came back. Just an embarrassing
- 1:34Speaker 1: comedy of errors, a disgrace. Actually, this game was. This
- 1:38Speaker 1: team came into this game, Eric as the only NFL
- 1:41Speaker 1: team not to have scored a point in the first quarter,
- 1:45Speaker 1: and they kept up that trend this week, my friends,
- 1:47Speaker 1: Week four, they did. In fact, they had zero yards.
- 1:51Speaker 1: They had zero yards in the first quarter. They didn't
- 1:54Speaker 1: have one first down until it was six minutes and
- 1:57Speaker 1: fifty seconds in the second quarter.
- 1:59Speaker 2: Eric.
- 2:00Speaker 1: An embarrassing comedy of errors. That that's what this game was.
- 2:03Speaker 1: It was an embarrassment and a disgrace.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Yeah, they took that trend and took it a step further, like,
- 2:09Speaker 3: not only we're not going to score points, we're not
- 2:10Speaker 3: even a gain yardage, right, Yeah, I forget forget football.
- 2:15Speaker 3: You think we suck, then we can we can suck more.
- 2:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:21Speaker 3: So something weird happened last night and I had the
- 2:23Speaker 3: honor of putting some shitty people out of my life
- 2:27Speaker 3: this morning, yes, after a bad interaction last evening. And
- 2:30Speaker 3: it's an awesome feeling. It really is when someone shows
- 2:32Speaker 3: you who they are. And I'm afraid that's what the
- 2:35Speaker 3: Eagles did today. And I text, all you guys, the
- 2:39Speaker 3: Eagles are not the team of last week.
- 2:41Speaker 2: This is who they are this week.
- 2:43Speaker 3: All that hooting and hollering, embarking at the Saints game,
- 2:47Speaker 3: you're like, push you around, remember, like, no, you're you're soft,
- 2:51Speaker 3: you're inept, you're unprepared. And if Jeffrey and Howie want
- 2:57Speaker 3: me to take this team seriously, Nick, your has to
- 3:00Speaker 3: be flyed today like that. That's the only way I
- 3:03Speaker 3: will even take this team even remotely serious and as
- 3:06Speaker 3: any sort of contender, because right they weren't prepared today.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It's a great word, unprepared, a great word.
- 3:11Speaker 2: They don't do.
- 3:12Speaker 3: They don't do training camp, They like they don't play
- 3:15Speaker 3: in the pre Like this team is not ready to play,
- 3:17Speaker 3: and they're soft, and they're not very disciplined. And it's
- 3:21Speaker 3: all it all leads to him, And like I said,
- 3:23Speaker 3: it's by a week coming up.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Perfect time to move on.
- 3:25Speaker 3: From a coach, I probably won't do it, but like
- 3:28Speaker 3: I said, I this this, these games will be on
- 3:31Speaker 3: in the background for me going forward until he's gone,
- 3:34Speaker 3: because I don't take them seriously.
- 3:36Speaker 1: It is tough to take this team seriously when they
- 3:39Speaker 1: do look as unprepared, of course, as they were, not
- 3:42Speaker 1: just on offense, but on defense. To Eric, it's it
- 3:46Speaker 1: seems like there was mistackles on every freaking play. Vic Fangio,
- 3:51Speaker 1: I don't think is the answer for this defense, Eric,
- 3:53Speaker 1: I don't know. I'm I'm not a football coach. I'm
- 3:57Speaker 1: not I'm not. It was interesting you there you go,
- 4:01Speaker 1: there you go. Interesting. How I love how you tweeted
- 4:04Speaker 1: out from your account, and I tweeted out from the
- 4:06Speaker 1: PST account the same tweet from our friend of the show.
- 4:10Speaker 1: He's been on the show, Brendan Deeg about how Nolan
- 4:13Speaker 1: Smith was actually on one on one coverage against Chris
- 4:16Speaker 1: Godwin in the second quarter and how this just wasn't
- 4:19Speaker 1: a serious team. The defense is horrendous. The pass rush
- 4:24Speaker 1: is horrendous. Bottom of the league heading into Week five,
- 4:27Speaker 1: for sure. They came into Week four number twenty two
- 4:32Speaker 1: defense in the league. They were actually like the number thirtieth,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I think twenty ninth or thirtieth defense in the league
- 4:38Speaker 1: coming into the Saints game in Week three. But now, boy,
- 4:41Speaker 1: they're gonna be right toward the bottom of the barrel
- 4:44Speaker 1: because because you have Baker Mayfield completing thirty passes on
- 4:50Speaker 1: forty seven attempts for three hundred and forty seven yards
- 4:53Speaker 1: seven point four yards per attempt, and he ended with
- 4:56Speaker 1: an overall rating of one hundred and two after throwing
- 5:00Speaker 1: two pretty nice touchdown passes as well, ran all over
- 5:04Speaker 1: this Eagles defense one hundred and eleven yards. They averaged
- 5:08Speaker 1: four point four yards total in their rushing. Bucky Irving
- 5:13Speaker 1: and Rashad White both ran the ball ten times, both
- 5:17Speaker 1: for forty nine yards, both four point nine yards per carry,
- 5:22Speaker 1: and Bucky Irving had the one touchdown. They absolutely gashed
- 5:25Speaker 1: the Eagles defense. Vic Fangio is not the answer here, dude,
- 5:28Speaker 1: He's not the answer.
- 5:29Speaker 2: I'm not sure what I was expecting. You hear the name.
- 5:32Speaker 1: You're expecting different though we're respecting different yests.
- 5:35Speaker 3: It's one of those names where you're like, Okay, this
- 5:37Speaker 3: guy had he's respected he coached the Bears, He's coached
- 5:40Speaker 3: really good defenses. But there's like I said, dude, there's
- 5:44Speaker 3: just this softness to this team, Like there's no there's
- 5:47Speaker 3: no edge to them at all. John Carter last week,
- 5:50Speaker 3: like when he was going at the Saints fans and
- 5:52Speaker 3: the Saints team, I was like, thank God, like finally,
- 5:55Speaker 3: like that, like that's that's what I want. Like you
- 5:58Speaker 3: draft a guy like that to intimidate people, and you
- 6:02Speaker 3: you spent a first round pick on him. You spent
- 6:04Speaker 3: a first round pick the previous year in the same position,
- 6:07Speaker 3: and that guy, I think he was a bad pick.
- 6:11Speaker 3: He just can't get in shape. He doesn't do anything.
- 6:13Speaker 3: If Jalen Carter gets double that guy should be able
- 6:16Speaker 3: to kill the middle of the line.
- 6:18Speaker 2: He never does. Yeah, And can I just hear it?
- 6:21Speaker 2: Let's just do it.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Bryce Huff fucking sucks is a mistake. They paid him
- 6:27Speaker 3: thirty four million guaranteed. He has two tackles this year.
- 6:30Speaker 3: I think he has what two pressures on the season
- 6:33Speaker 3: in four games. And he's like and then and then
- 6:39Speaker 3: this is this is where this is right?
- 6:40Speaker 2: I got fucking this.
- 6:41Speaker 3: This child, this this preteen child removed all of his
- 6:47Speaker 3: eagle stuff from his Instagram. Eh okay o, my god,
- 6:51Speaker 3: A break up with Trevor, like like, what the fuck
- 6:55Speaker 3: is wrong?
- 6:55Speaker 2: Like what a child?
- 6:57Speaker 3: Yeah, like, because you suck, you're getting your opportunities. Just
- 7:01Speaker 3: play the fucking game and get sacks and then everything
- 7:03Speaker 3: will be good.
- 7:04Speaker 2: You're a fucking pussy and you suck, like that's not our.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Problem, right page you and you can't perform and you
- 7:10Speaker 3: remove the egle, like just fuck off. I don't like
- 7:12Speaker 3: him at all, and like that that was I saw
- 7:15Speaker 3: that post or I saw the story, and I'm just like, yeah,
- 7:18Speaker 3: you wis look at a cheer for this fucking dickhead.
- 7:19Speaker 2: No, You're gone exactly. Never never.
- 7:22Speaker 1: That was a straw that broke the camel's back, and
- 7:24Speaker 1: it should for just about every Eagles fan. It really should.
- 7:27Speaker 1: This defense it should not be taken seriously at all.
- 7:31Speaker 1: They reverted back to how it looked how or how
- 7:33Speaker 1: they looked in the first two games. I mean on
- 7:36Speaker 1: that Bucks touchdown scoring that opening drive where they scored
- 7:39Speaker 1: a touchdown, Baker Mayfield was just picking that umbrella coverage.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Apart with short throws, the defense forced just two third
- 7:48Speaker 1: downs on the Bucks ten play, seventy nine yard opening
- 7:53Speaker 1: touchdown drive. There was a third and one and a
- 7:56Speaker 1: third and two. Those were the two third downs as well.
- 8:00Speaker 1: And the Bucks in Baker Mayfield, who basically looked like
- 8:04Speaker 1: Tom Brady, threw to five different Bucks receivers on that
- 8:09Speaker 1: particular drive. Interestingly enough, our friend Jeff Kerr from CBS
- 8:12Speaker 1: Sports tweeted after the first touchdown, the first Bucks touchdown,
- 8:16Speaker 1: that that's the third touchdown pass that was allowed by CJ.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Gardner Johnson this year. He's having a bit of a
- 8:22Speaker 1: rough season. We're still seeing some mistackles in this game.
- 8:25Speaker 1: In terms of coverage on that first touchdown pass that
- 8:27Speaker 1: he allowed, not very good. And in terms of the
- 8:31Speaker 1: first two drives by the Buccaneers, Baker Mayfield just I mean,
- 8:36Speaker 1: of course, he took the Eagles d apart. He was
- 8:38Speaker 1: twelve of thirteen for one hundred and thirty eight yards
- 8:42Speaker 1: and two touchdowns. Darius Slay was beat by Trey Palmer
- 8:46Speaker 1: for the second touchdown. My gosh, Avonte Maddox, he looked
- 8:50Speaker 1: absolutely brutal in this game. The secondary looked lost. The
- 8:54Speaker 1: linebackers they didn't do much either. And like I said
- 8:57Speaker 1: before or earlier, I mean, they've got Nolan Smith lining
- 9:00Speaker 1: up against Chris Godwin on at least one play in
- 9:03Speaker 1: the second quarter on one on one coverage. This is
- 9:06Speaker 1: not a successful type of defense that you're gonna be
- 9:09Speaker 1: able to lean on. And it's gonna be like this
- 9:11Speaker 1: for quite some time, folks. It's gonna be like this
- 9:14Speaker 1: for some time. I don't know if if you have
- 9:16Speaker 1: anything else for the defense. I do want to get
- 9:18Speaker 1: into Hurts at some point here, but I don't know
- 9:20Speaker 1: if you've got anything for defense.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Now, let's go right into Hurts. You just you just
- 9:25Speaker 2: reeled off Baker Mayfield stats.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a better He's a better quarterback than jail Hurts. Sorry,
- 9:30Speaker 3: that's actually easy. That's not even a hot tape. He's
- 9:33Speaker 3: actually a better quarterback than Jailen Hurts. And you saw today.
- 9:36Speaker 3: I know he had all his weapons and but he's
- 9:39Speaker 3: just he's a Chrisper passer.
- 9:42Speaker 2: He was getting rid of the ball quick, yeah, exactly,
- 9:45Speaker 2: and Hurts was just standing in the pocket too long. Yeah.
- 9:48Speaker 3: His decision making is still horrible at times. And for
- 9:53Speaker 3: the money they're paying him what they expect from him,
- 9:55Speaker 3: even with these injuries, he needs to make like three
- 9:58Speaker 3: or four Lamar Jackson plays to keep us in a game,
- 10:02Speaker 3: and he's not capable of that.
- 10:03Speaker 2: He doesn't.
- 10:04Speaker 3: He doesn't have that in him, Like he's not. He
- 10:06Speaker 3: has no josh Allen Lamar Jackson in him whatsoever. Like
- 10:10Speaker 3: he can't give you those three to five incredible plays
- 10:13Speaker 3: that are going to be on supports center. He just doesn't.
- 10:16Speaker 3: He's not he does. That's not him and he gets
- 10:19Speaker 3: paid like that. And this is the kind of game
- 10:22Speaker 3: where he needed to step up and just be like superhuman.
- 10:25Speaker 3: Him and Barkley just kind of take over the game.
- 10:27Speaker 3: I know, like I said, he has. The injuries are there,
- 10:29Speaker 3: but he is just not He's I don't do him
- 10:34Speaker 3: and Syrianni even speak to one another.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Every every every time he was off the field, he's
- 10:39Speaker 3: sitting on the bench drinking water, not talking to anybody,
- 10:41Speaker 3: And I'm.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Like, do they coaches talk to him? Or where's Kellen Moore?
- 10:46Speaker 2: What the fuck is he?
- 10:46Speaker 1: I know, I know, I don't know what's happening with
- 10:49Speaker 1: regard to the relationships behind the scenes. How many times
- 10:53Speaker 1: have we talked about that on this podcast and how
- 10:55Speaker 1: critical and important that is if a team is going
- 10:57Speaker 1: to be successful on the field, on the court, on
- 10:59Speaker 1: the ice, whatever the case is. But the turnovers are
- 11:03Speaker 1: consistent and they continue to happen. Jalen Hurts now has
- 11:07Speaker 1: twenty seven turnovers since the start of last season. That's
- 11:10Speaker 1: four more than anyone else in the NFL. He coughed
- 11:15Speaker 1: it up and fumbled it today in the red zone
- 11:17Speaker 1: as the Eagles are trying to make it a one
- 11:19Speaker 1: score game in the third quarter. They could have done it,
- 11:22Speaker 1: but no, that that careless turnover that we see once again.
- 11:26Speaker 1: That's now seven turnovers this season, which is second most
- 11:29Speaker 1: in the NFL. Texans quarterback Will Levis has eight so far,
- 11:34Speaker 1: so that's the company in the territory in terms of
- 11:37Speaker 1: the turnovers that Jalen Hurts is keeping. I know this
- 11:40Speaker 1: past week was trying to hype up Hurts a little
- 11:42Speaker 1: bit with regard to his completion percentage against the blitz
- 11:46Speaker 1: Boy or that really fucking took a shit, didn't it.
- 11:50Speaker 1: That took a shit? Eric.
- 11:52Speaker 3: It's really funny you reeled off that stat on Wednesday
- 11:54Speaker 3: night from when we record, because it really came back
- 11:57Speaker 3: to look stupid. Oh you know, yeah, oli our ts
- 12:00Speaker 3: are eventually stupid. Jeff so absolutely, and I don't know
- 12:02Speaker 3: if you've seen Will Levis play football.
- 12:04Speaker 2: He's a lunatic.
- 12:04Speaker 3: I mean, he'll, he'll, he'll, he'll swan dive in the
- 12:08Speaker 3: middle of the field and try and like throw it
- 12:10Speaker 3: like a reverse, like lateral to one of his running backs.
- 12:13Speaker 3: And he only has one more turnover than this guy
- 12:16Speaker 3: who were supposed to take seriously Again, I don't take
- 12:18Speaker 3: I don't think any anybody on this team seriously at all,
- 12:21Speaker 3: including the quarterback. Everyone last week was bitching and moaning
- 12:24Speaker 3: about Trevor Lawrence and how bad he is, and he's
- 12:27Speaker 3: a turnover machine.
- 12:28Speaker 2: On the money Night game where they.
- 12:29Speaker 3: Got blown out, Hurts has four more turnovers than he does,
- 12:33Speaker 3: and everybody was on Lawrence's ass, like, oh my god,
- 12:35Speaker 3: just turns the ball over. He's a first round pick.
- 12:38Speaker 3: I can't, dude, they both make the same amount of money.
- 12:41Speaker 3: I who's who's better? Trevor Lawrence are jailing her? I
- 12:44Speaker 3: think they both suck, right.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Both a tough season. Both a tough season. I will
- 12:50Speaker 1: say this, thank God for Saquon Barkley. I think he
- 12:52Speaker 1: does not suck. You know, I don't think he You
- 12:55Speaker 1: said everybody sucks on the team, but I don't think
- 12:57Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley sucks on this team. Thank God. For him.
- 13:00Speaker 2: He gets a pass. Jalen Carter gets a pass.
- 13:02Speaker 3: He plays his ass off all given that it was
- 13:05Speaker 3: one hundred and five degrees down there today, he was
- 13:07Speaker 3: getting double teamed. You would hope his teammate that we're
- 13:10Speaker 3: paying first round money to be able to pick up
- 13:12Speaker 3: some of the slack. Not happening apparently. But you have
- 13:17Speaker 3: Carter and Barkley and everyone else, I mean A J. Brown,
- 13:19Speaker 3: DeVante Smith. True, but they're hurt and all right now
- 13:23Speaker 3: we're just leaning on those two and that's the only
- 13:25Speaker 3: two that I remotely.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Like to watch.
- 13:28Speaker 3: If they don't come back soon, like we got a
- 13:31Speaker 3: buy week coming up.
- 13:31Speaker 2: If they're not back, but all of the starters are
- 13:33Speaker 2: back in like week, what does it be? Six ye
- 13:37Speaker 2: where is this team headed?
- 13:38Speaker 3: I know, like the schedule is going to get rough again,
- 13:41Speaker 3: and man, like you really had to be three and
- 13:44Speaker 3: one going to the buy and but to come out
- 13:46Speaker 3: and perform like this to a team that beats your
- 13:49Speaker 3: ass in the playoffs last year or earlier this year,
- 13:51Speaker 3: you should be embarrassed.
- 13:52Speaker 2: I really should.
- 13:53Speaker 1: The only the last thing I'm going to say in
- 13:55Speaker 1: terms of the offense before we go to the break
- 13:57Speaker 1: and then get to our grades. Eric, is that why
- 14:00Speaker 1: trade for a wide receiver in Johan Dotson If you're
- 14:03Speaker 1: going to target him in a game like this where
- 14:05Speaker 1: you don't have your wide receiver one and wide receiver two,
- 14:08Speaker 1: and he's apparently your wide receiver three, why are you
- 14:11Speaker 1: only targeting him four times? Comes down with two balls
- 14:15Speaker 1: for eleven yards. He has at this point on the
- 14:20Speaker 1: season three receptions for fourteen yards. Add another eleven onto that. Congratulations,
- 14:27Speaker 1: you've got twenty five yards on the season. I do
- 14:32Speaker 1: not understand the offensive coaching. We certainly talked about Vic
- 14:36Speaker 1: Fangio and the defensive coaching. I don't understand the past
- 14:40Speaker 1: distribution outside of Dallas Goddard and Saquon Barkley in this
- 14:44Speaker 1: game when you actually do have some wide receivers out there,
- 14:46Speaker 1: one you actually made a trade for, gave up a
- 14:50Speaker 1: pick in the future for, and you're just not using him.
- 14:53Speaker 1: If he stinks, he stinks, then you gotta tell us.
- 14:55Speaker 1: You gotta tell us that you're not going to be
- 14:56Speaker 1: using him. Maybe they don't want to tell the other teams,
- 14:59Speaker 1: of course that, but my god, it's so incredibly raging.
- 15:02Speaker 3: You know, I'm just sitting here looking at sitting here
- 15:06Speaker 3: looking at the receiving core stats on ESPN for the Eagles,
- 15:10Speaker 3: and it's a who's who of if you've ever played
- 15:14Speaker 3: Fantasy of guys that just let you down, like at
- 15:17Speaker 3: some point you pick them up and and it went
- 15:20Speaker 3: horrible for you. We got we got Paris Cannibell, we
- 15:22Speaker 3: got Johan Dotts, and we have John Ross John Ross, yes,
- 15:26Speaker 3: and soon to join that crew will be Johnny Wilson someday. So, yeah,
- 15:30Speaker 3: it's bad, and I understand the injuries, but like I said,
- 15:33Speaker 3: the quarterback has to step up, yeah, and make.
- 15:36Speaker 2: A couple of plays, and he just he doesn't have
- 15:37Speaker 2: it in them.
- 15:38Speaker 1: You're absolutely correct. All right, Well, we're gonna go to
- 15:41Speaker 1: a break right now, folks, and when we come back,
- 15:43Speaker 1: we're going to grade each unit as we always do
- 15:45Speaker 1: on our postgame shows as well as the coaching. We'll
- 15:48Speaker 1: be back in just a bit. All right, we are back,
- 15:51Speaker 1: and let's start with our unit grades. Quarterback grade for
- 15:55Speaker 1: this week. I am giving Jalen Hurts his eight completion
- 16:00Speaker 1: I'm sorry, eighteen. Sorry, I felt like eight eighteen completions
- 16:04Speaker 1: on thirty attempts one hundred and fifty eight yards. He
- 16:07Speaker 1: averaged five point three yards per attempt one touchdown. He
- 16:11Speaker 1: ended with a rating of eighty five point one. He
- 16:14Speaker 1: was sex six times for negative forty four yards. I
- 16:17Speaker 1: am giving Jalen Hurts this week a D. He is
- 16:20Speaker 1: getting a D for me. What do you give him, buddy?
- 16:23Speaker 2: He gets an F?
- 16:24Speaker 3: Okay, why not just hold on to Gardner Minshew and
- 16:26Speaker 3: pay him a third.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Of what Jalen Hurts makes.
- 16:29Speaker 3: I'm i'm he has too many of these games where
- 16:34Speaker 3: you look at the stat line and you're like, oh,
- 16:36Speaker 3: do they play the backup?
- 16:37Speaker 2: Oh no, that's our starter who makes too unred.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Something is going on here with him and the coaches,
- 16:41Speaker 1: it has to be. I hated that narrative over the
- 16:43Speaker 1: summer too. It's one of those Philly sports radio nonsense
- 16:48Speaker 1: bullshit stuff that they do just to get people clicking
- 16:50Speaker 1: and listening. And I don't know, now, I'm getting to
- 16:53Speaker 1: the point where it's week four. Like it's week four, folks,
- 16:56Speaker 1: it's you know, we're at the point in the season
- 16:58Speaker 1: where you should be seeing a little more consistency, a
- 17:02Speaker 1: little more semblance of Okay, we know what we're doing
- 17:05Speaker 1: out here, and he is. He appears lost in certain ways. Yes,
- 17:09Speaker 1: he doesn't have those receivers that we talked about. Yeah,
- 17:11Speaker 1: go ahead, what.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Really jumped out? Tom Brady number one brings nothing to
- 17:18Speaker 3: the table. Uh, he's he's a C grade announcer. I
- 17:23Speaker 3: don't know why to put him on the first team.
- 17:25Speaker 3: But he doesn't really add.
- 17:26Speaker 2: Much, not really, no, no, he does.
- 17:29Speaker 3: He sounds like everybody. He doesn't add any whatever. He
- 17:32Speaker 3: did say something that I think in the second quarter,
- 17:35Speaker 3: and it was almost patronizing, and I was like, I
- 17:37Speaker 3: don't want that being said about my quarterback.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Jalen hurts me in a nice throw and he.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Goes there you go, Jalen that there there you go
- 17:44Speaker 3: like that, and I'm like, he's not in fourth grade,
- 17:47Speaker 3: like what I don't want to hear.
- 17:50Speaker 1: He's being paid a.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Lot of money.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that felt bad as a family dude, You're like
- 17:54Speaker 3: making fun of my quarterback.
- 17:55Speaker 2: But you're right.
- 17:56Speaker 3: It was like a good job Joey good pass, Like
- 17:59Speaker 3: I oh.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I shown buddy John good boy. Oh my goodness, we're
- 18:04Speaker 1: going to Gary Queen after the game. Who's ready for
- 18:07Speaker 1: a bleazard? Oh my god? All right? You know what
- 18:13Speaker 1: I was, I yeah, D D minus. Maybe I can
- 18:16Speaker 1: give anyway running back. I'll give Saquon Barkley and Kenneth Gaine.
- 18:21Speaker 1: What Kenneth gain Well had two carries for nine yards,
- 18:23Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley ten carries for eighty four yards. Yeah, that
- 18:27Speaker 1: long fifty nine yard er. I mean they were barely used.
- 18:31Speaker 1: It was pathetic. It was pathetic the amount of times
- 18:34Speaker 1: that Saquon Barkley had the opportunity to touch the ball
- 18:38Speaker 1: and do something with it. So I'm gonna give the
- 18:41Speaker 1: I'm gonna give the running backs, mainly Saquon Barkley here.
- 18:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna give him a B minus. What do you
- 18:45Speaker 1: give them?
- 18:47Speaker 2: I'll go bee.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I mean, Saquon was the one highlight man at this point,
- 18:52Speaker 3: you know, with the receivers going down, Like, why why
- 18:54Speaker 3: is Kellen We're not drawing up more design runs for
- 18:57Speaker 3: the quarterback? Yeah, it would make sense. I mean I
- 19:00Speaker 3: understand the toush push thing in.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Short short yards, but like.
- 19:04Speaker 3: You know, use Barkley as a decoy and do some
- 19:07Speaker 3: design runs to maybe get hurts like kind of going yeah, baby,
- 19:10Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 19:11Speaker 2: He went back.
- 19:12Speaker 3: I not only at thirty attempts, but it felt like
- 19:14Speaker 3: he was just standing in the pocket like ball game
- 19:17Speaker 3: right like that. That's how it felt to me. Only
- 19:19Speaker 3: twenty care total, so obviously he was back there a lot.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely, it hurts. Carried the ball eight times for
- 19:25Speaker 1: twenty yards didn't necessarily seem like that. Like I said,
- 19:28Speaker 1: it seemed like he was just back there in the
- 19:30Speaker 1: pocket and then the pocket collapses. We're gonna get to
- 19:33Speaker 1: the offensive line in just a bit here, but let's
- 19:35Speaker 1: do the receivers. Dallas Goddter, with the most targets this
- 19:38Speaker 1: week eight targets, came down with seven balls for sixty
- 19:42Speaker 1: two yards averaged eight point nine yards per per reception.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Then Saquon Barkley, with four targets, came down with two
- 19:49Speaker 1: balls for thirty two yards. I'm not gonna go through everybody.
- 19:52Speaker 1: It's just again a comedy of errors with regard to
- 19:54Speaker 1: this receiving corp here in week four, I'm gonna give
- 19:56Speaker 1: the receiving corps this week a C. I don't know
- 20:00Speaker 1: what else I can give him. It was just it
- 20:01Speaker 1: was just average. It was just average or even possibly
- 20:04Speaker 1: below average CC minus around there.
- 20:06Speaker 2: What do you give him? Uh D plus?
- 20:09Speaker 1: Okay?
- 20:10Speaker 3: And for all for all the people who said Dallas
- 20:12Speaker 3: Godder is poised to become like, you know, the next
- 20:14Speaker 3: Like he's going to get into Kelsey range this season, right,
- 20:17Speaker 3: it's this big opportunity to really step in and become
- 20:20Speaker 3: like a top tier tight end.
- 20:22Speaker 1: That's notice he can't get yards after the catch. Right
- 20:24Speaker 1: when contact happens, he is down, he is there is
- 20:27Speaker 1: no getting up the field yards after catch.
- 20:30Speaker 2: There's no yak for that guy.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's and he sometimes has hands of stone,
- 20:34Speaker 3: like he dropped two passes today or I was like,
- 20:37Speaker 3: you're a tight end, yeah, pass catching tight end, Like
- 20:39Speaker 3: what how do you not?
- 20:40Speaker 2: That's your job? Yeah, he's I'm not impressed.
- 20:43Speaker 1: All right. Offensive line, it was the most disappointing we've
- 20:47Speaker 1: seen in quite some time. I know, we had the
- 20:49Speaker 1: collapse of the season last year where we gave the
- 20:51Speaker 1: offensive line some dog shit grades, but they're going to
- 20:54Speaker 1: get a dog ship grade of a D this week.
- 20:57Speaker 1: For me. Pocket collapsing the rushing a hack as well.
- 21:01Speaker 1: I mean, you take away that fifty nine yard Saquon
- 21:04Speaker 1: Barkley run, and Saquon didn't have a great game because
- 21:08Speaker 1: of the offensive line not being able to really get
- 21:10Speaker 1: the holes going. The veterans on this team were terrible.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Fred Johnson actually held up pretty well with Lane taking
- 21:18Speaker 1: over for Lane Johnson on the right side of the line.
- 21:21Speaker 1: So I'm gonna give the offensive line of D man.
- 21:23Speaker 2: What do you give them at D?
- 21:27Speaker 3: I mean, I agree with you, Jalen didn't have a
- 21:30Speaker 3: lot of time back there. If Saquon wasn't superhuman, they
- 21:34Speaker 3: probably would have far less rushing yards. And just we're
- 21:37Speaker 3: shaky against the Tampa Bay team. I mean, their defense
- 21:40Speaker 3: isn't super impressive. I mean, I not a lot of
- 21:43Speaker 3: superstars over there, but they had constant pressure up the
- 21:45Speaker 3: middle and on the ends, and this is the one
- 21:49Speaker 3: position where it just feels really flimsy. I know Fred
- 21:52Speaker 3: Johnson played well, but they feel like one injury away
- 21:55Speaker 3: from where like we're in like danger territory as a team.
- 22:00Speaker 1: So yep, all right, let's move over the defense. Defensive line.
- 22:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna give them a D minus. And yes, I
- 22:06Speaker 1: know they had two sacks on the day. Oh only
- 22:08Speaker 1: two sacks, and they were from some veterans. Brandon Graham
- 22:11Speaker 1: had one sack, Josh Sweat had one sack. There were
- 22:14Speaker 1: four tackles for a loss, eight passes defended, and only
- 22:19Speaker 1: two quarterback hits. That is it, folks. Two quarterback hits,
- 22:22Speaker 1: one from Josh Sweat and one from Brandon Graham. That's it.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Just a pathetic display from this pass rush and this
- 22:32Speaker 1: defensive line that just doesn't have it. We were talking
- 22:34Speaker 1: about it earlier. They just don't have it D minus
- 22:37Speaker 1: for me. What do you give them.
- 22:39Speaker 3: An if they're horrible? Yeah, Brandon Graham, thank God for him.
- 22:44Speaker 3: And Josh Sweat had a sack. How many sacks do
- 22:46Speaker 3: we have on the year, Jeff, I'm looking it up
- 22:48Speaker 3: right now.
- 22:48Speaker 1: Oh boy, I think it might. I think it might
- 22:50Speaker 1: only be like eight or nine seven seven seven.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Okay, over four games.
- 22:57Speaker 3: And we brought in Bryce Huff to shore that position
- 23:01Speaker 3: up and really bring some pressure and some added pizazz
- 23:04Speaker 3: to that position. And he had won tackle today with
- 23:07Speaker 3: thirty four million guaranteed. I just want to remind the
- 23:09Speaker 3: listeners of how much money he's making and what a
- 23:12Speaker 3: cry baby loser he is.
- 23:13Speaker 1: There, you go, all right, very good. Let's move to
- 23:15Speaker 1: the linebackers. N Kobe Dean and Zach Bond did not
- 23:19Speaker 1: have the greatest games by any stretch. Both both guys
- 23:23Speaker 1: had one tackle for a loss each, and uh, I
- 23:27Speaker 1: don't know the linebackers were just not as prevalent in
- 23:29Speaker 1: this game. There were a lot of mistackles again as well,
- 23:33Speaker 1: not just by the defensive line, but by the linebackers too,
- 23:36Speaker 1: and by the secondary, which we're gonna get to in
- 23:37Speaker 1: a bit. I mean, I'm gonna give the line linebackers
- 23:39Speaker 1: to see this week. What do you give them?
- 23:42Speaker 3: I'll go c plus, what do you expect when you
- 23:46Speaker 3: put Nolan Smith on single coverage against Chris Godwin? You
- 23:52Speaker 3: might run run into some coverage issues there. You know, again,
- 23:56Speaker 3: this is one of the better positions on this team.
- 23:58Speaker 3: But we're talking about a team that up thirty three
- 24:00Speaker 3: points and pretty much lost the game in the first quarter. Yeah,
- 24:04Speaker 3: like the offense really suck. We Bitchedhi moan about them.
- 24:07Speaker 3: But like those first two drives by the Bucks, like
- 24:10Speaker 3: we put up no defense, Nope, no, we had no shot.
- 24:14Speaker 2: They ran it right down our throat.
- 24:16Speaker 3: And we got You can go to the secondary, and
- 24:18Speaker 3: I want to talk about Mike Evans.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Go ahead, second, go ahead, I got secondary grades. You
- 24:23Speaker 1: should put your grade out there.
- 24:25Speaker 2: I'll give the secondary.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Uh.
- 24:29Speaker 2: I think Quinny, I think Keny Mitchell had a good game.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Yeah for rookie. So I'll go see minus for them.
- 24:33Speaker 3: But I was watching Evans looking up his stats his career,
- 24:37Speaker 3: and I'm like, are we are we underrating this guy
- 24:40Speaker 3: like all time?
- 24:41Speaker 2: Like I I is, he like top.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Ten all time, but nobody talks about it like he's
- 24:46Speaker 3: so good, he's amazing.
- 24:48Speaker 2: He's in the league for forever. Yes, you know, it's
- 24:51Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 24:51Speaker 3: I was just like, I think we're just we're we're
- 24:53Speaker 3: not raiding him properly all time.
- 24:56Speaker 1: This is a tenth year in the league.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, he's.
- 24:59Speaker 3: Like Jerry Rice or anything, or Randy Moss, but he's
- 25:02Speaker 3: like I think the next step down, Yes, all the time.
- 25:04Speaker 2: He's amazing.
- 25:05Speaker 1: He's got eleven eight hundred yards in his career so far.
- 25:09Speaker 1: He averages fifteen point three yards per completion, That's what
- 25:13Speaker 1: he has done. And he's caught ninety six total touchdowns
- 25:17Speaker 1: in this league. He is a damn good wide receiver.
- 25:21Speaker 2: He's incredible. Yeah, I don't know.
- 25:22Speaker 3: I just had that thought and like during halftime, thinking
- 25:25Speaker 3: like this guy does not get enough credit.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Exactly exactly, but the secondary. I'm actually gonna give the
- 25:30Speaker 1: secondary a D because Avonte Maddox he just looked brutal
- 25:35Speaker 1: in this game. He looked brutal in the first two games.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Had a nice game against the Saints, as we talked
- 25:40Speaker 1: about last week on the postgame show. However, I mean,
- 25:43Speaker 1: he just looks cooked. You've got you know, Darius Slay
- 25:46Speaker 1: getting beat out there, Chauncey Gardner. Chauncey Gardner havn't said
- 25:51Speaker 1: that in a while. CJ. Gardner Johnson this year again,
- 25:54Speaker 1: like I mentioned, he's allowed his third touchdown pass already
- 25:58Speaker 1: this season read blank and ship missing tackles penalties right
- 26:04Speaker 1: out of the gate too. It's just they just looked
- 26:07Speaker 1: like they did not want to be down there. I
- 26:09Speaker 1: don't know if it was the one hundred and eight
- 26:11Speaker 1: degree feel of the heat, but they're getting a D
- 26:14Speaker 1: for me because they were just terrible this week. They
- 26:18Speaker 1: were just absolutely terrible. So all right, let's get to
- 26:23Speaker 1: the coaches grading. And like special teams man, holy cow,
- 26:27Speaker 1: Michael Clay must have been just like beside himself Isaiah
- 26:32Speaker 1: Rodgers after that special teams play on the punt return
- 26:35Speaker 1: in the first quarter where he just like completely shoves
- 26:39Speaker 1: his shoves a guy right into Cooper Degene. The Kieley
- 26:42Speaker 1: Ringo runs right into Cooper Degene on another punt return,
- 26:47Speaker 1: but then again you got the extra point blocked by
- 26:49Speaker 1: Isaiah Rodgers and then returned by Kiley Ringo for two
- 26:52Speaker 1: points in the third quarter. I don't know. I'm just
- 26:54Speaker 1: gonna give Special Teams a c because it was a
- 26:57Speaker 1: comedy of errors on that particular side of the ball
- 27:01Speaker 1: as well. They did a couple of good things here
- 27:03Speaker 1: and there, but made some dumb mistakes. I'll give him
- 27:05Speaker 1: a CEE. What do you give special teams?
- 27:08Speaker 3: It was kind of slapsticky, Yeah, like with the fumble
- 27:11Speaker 3: and then the block pun that was awesome, but I
- 27:14Speaker 3: mean it was it was the announcers were trying so hard.
- 27:17Speaker 3: Tom Brady was trying so hard to make that exciting yes,
- 27:20Speaker 3: block return for two points.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Well, I give him credit because there wasn't a lot
- 27:23Speaker 1: of exciting going on for the Eagles.
- 27:25Speaker 2: No, No, it was just funny.
- 27:27Speaker 3: As he's crossing the sideline, you know, all the all
- 27:30Speaker 3: the like, the screen blows up with all the like
- 27:33Speaker 3: the illustrations and the Eagle score and it's two points. Yeah, wow,
- 27:38Speaker 3: now we're only down by fourteen.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Yes.
- 27:40Speaker 1: I had explained to my wife why it wasn't a
- 27:42Speaker 1: touch she goes, wait, it's a touchdown. I said, no,
- 27:43Speaker 1: it's not a touchdown.
- 27:44Speaker 2: Hunt.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I had explained it to her, and she goes, boy,
- 27:46Speaker 1: that's stinks. And I'm like, yep, yeah, yep, er, yes, yes,
- 27:52Speaker 1: all right, defense Vic Fangio. I'm for his coaching this
- 27:56Speaker 1: team this week. I'm giving him an F. He's getting
- 27:58Speaker 1: a straight up F. What do you give.
- 28:01Speaker 2: And if all the coaches are gonna get in F
- 28:03Speaker 2: besides the special teams, well.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Then yeah, offense as well. I give Nick Sirianni and
- 28:06Speaker 1: Kellen Moore and F as well. So it was special
- 28:10Speaker 1: teams wins this week. Folks with with a C.
- 28:15Speaker 3: I can't say it enough, like Sirianni has no pulse
- 28:19Speaker 3: on this team, Like I don't feel.
- 28:21Speaker 2: Like they play for him whatsoever.
- 28:24Speaker 3: It almost feels like a slight disrespect towards him, like
- 28:27Speaker 3: we don't take you seriously.
- 28:29Speaker 2: I really feel like that.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Like I said, something's going on, something that's going on here.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Yeah, Like you don't bring in those coordinators with big
- 28:35Speaker 3: names and then be like, yeah, but I'm still the
- 28:37Speaker 3: head coach.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Yeah, It's like you got it.
- 28:40Speaker 3: You've got to really have a strong locker room to
- 28:43Speaker 3: when you do that because eventually they're gonna be like.
- 28:45Speaker 2: What the fuck are we listening to you for?
- 28:47Speaker 1: Exactly?
- 28:47Speaker 3: These are doing all the work and you're you got
- 28:50Speaker 3: lucky two years ago. In my opinion that I really
- 28:52Speaker 3: feel like there's major disrespect in his direction because he's
- 28:55Speaker 3: kind of a douche too, let's just admit it. Like
- 28:58Speaker 3: all the stuff he would do on the sideline, we're like,
- 29:01Speaker 3: oh yeah, nice k. He's kind of an idiot, like
- 29:05Speaker 3: it rubs people the wrong way.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Eventually, I have a hard time believing that just looking
- 29:11Speaker 1: on Twitter and following some stuff, I have a hard
- 29:13Speaker 1: time believing that Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman are going
- 29:16Speaker 1: to fire him at two and two. At this point,
- 29:18Speaker 1: I have a hard time believing that that they're gonna
- 29:21Speaker 1: take in a completely different direction right after the bye.
- 29:25Speaker 1: I mean, anything can happen. Anything can happen. It would
- 29:28Speaker 1: surprise me, but I don't know. I think. I think
- 29:32Speaker 1: every day from now until you know, week six, we're
- 29:35Speaker 1: gonna be like, Okay, is it gonna happen? Is it
- 29:37Speaker 1: gonna happen? I should say, And from now until next weekend,
- 29:41Speaker 1: you know, if it was gonna happen. It would probably
- 29:43Speaker 1: happen at some point this week, and probably early this week.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I don't think it's going to with this team being
- 29:48Speaker 1: at two and two regard even though this game was
- 29:51Speaker 1: a complete embarrassing travesty, I still don't think it's gonna happen.
- 29:54Speaker 1: But I think if it, just if it doesn't turn around,
- 29:57Speaker 1: if it's just so up and down throughout the season,
- 29:59Speaker 1: I could see around honestly week ten that it may happen.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Yeah, And I have no idea who would step in.
- 30:05Speaker 3: I mean, Kellen Moore has never been a head coach,
- 30:07Speaker 3: right Fangio was, but you obviously can't put him in charge.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Can't run in defense, I know.
- 30:12Speaker 3: I just that's my biggest takeaway from the game. Besides
- 30:16Speaker 3: Hurts just isn't that good and the defense is just
- 30:18Speaker 3: really just just flimsy. Yeah, and Bryce uf is a
- 30:22Speaker 3: gigantic asshole. The biggest thing is, like I just they
- 30:26Speaker 3: the coaches.
- 30:27Speaker 2: He's just not the guy. Like that is. It's so
- 30:29Speaker 2: obvious to me. And they won last week in spite
- 30:31Speaker 2: of him.
- 30:32Speaker 3: I just I think he just bought himself time last
- 30:33Speaker 3: week because they should have lost that game based on
- 30:36Speaker 3: his dump, his poor decision making.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Yes, yes, absolutely, Look we're gonna get We're gonna get going, folks.
- 30:41Speaker 1: But I do a really quick want to say, they
- 30:44Speaker 1: got to bring back Hasan Reddick, right, they got to
- 30:45Speaker 1: find a way to do it. How he's got to
- 30:47Speaker 1: find a way to get that done for this pass rush, right, Eric,
- 30:51Speaker 1: I mean the trade deadline what November fifth, a little
- 30:54Speaker 1: over a month away. Here, he's got to find a
- 30:56Speaker 1: way to do it here with the Jets, I think
- 30:59Speaker 1: to make every I mean, we'll give him Josh Huff back,
- 31:01Speaker 1: Josh Josh Houff, dear God for former wide receiver Bryce Huff.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Give Bryce Huff back if they want. Maybe it'll help
- 31:08Speaker 1: them out too.
- 31:10Speaker 3: Listen and the Elliott Shore's Parks of the world. If
- 31:15Speaker 3: if how he trades for Hassan Reddick is gonna it's
- 31:21Speaker 3: he's gonna flip it into how he just playing chess.
- 31:23Speaker 2: Everyone else is playing checkers.
- 31:25Speaker 3: And me I'm gonna be like, know how he made
- 31:28Speaker 3: a mistake, Yeah, Bryce Huff because he sucks and now
- 31:31Speaker 3: he's just trying to he's trying to fix his mistakes.
- 31:33Speaker 3: And the Jets are so inept in terms of whatever
- 31:35Speaker 3: that situation was not not overall, but like that ever,
