- 0:23Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:24Speaker 4: Ali? How are you going some what's happening for you
- 0:28Speaker 4: guys recently?
- 0:30Speaker 2: Oh good, super good. It's busy days. The release is
- 0:34Speaker 2: getting closer all the time. But we're super excited and
- 0:38Speaker 2: and we're having this like pre listening session in He'll
- 0:41Speaker 2: sink it tonight for the media's exciting. There's gonna be
- 0:46Speaker 2: me and the I mean the band and and and
- 0:49Speaker 2: promotion and medias and radio.
- 0:52Speaker 1: So I'm excited about that. So it's a.
- 0:55Speaker 4: It's a big deal.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Yeah oh yeah, Oh really it is exciting.
- 1:00Speaker 4: I feel blessed.
- 1:00Speaker 3: We have a bit of an exclusive, definitely just by
- 1:05Speaker 3: by by virtue of time frame.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Time.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Yeah, So tell me about howkir and where you guys
- 1:13Speaker 3: have been and where it come from and where you're
- 1:15Speaker 3: at now, give us some feeling the background for us with.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Some of those watches and listeners that may not be aware.
- 1:23Speaker 2: So we have a background from the finished rock scene,
- 1:26Speaker 2: two different generations. Pauli used to be in the Rasmus,
- 1:29Speaker 2: I used to be in Blind Channel, so we have
- 1:31Speaker 2: this like a super band thing going on. Nice. We
- 1:36Speaker 2: found each other one year ago when when I split
- 1:38Speaker 2: it with Blind Channel, so I decided to do something
- 1:41Speaker 2: new and then we started to like to have these
- 1:43Speaker 2: terror positions with Pauli. We started to just chamming around
- 1:46Speaker 2: with song ideas and everything, and all suddenly we had
- 1:49Speaker 2: a new band, we had a record label, management, everything,
- 1:52Speaker 2: and all of a suddenly we got a new album,
- 1:55Speaker 2: all the festival shows booked in Finland and like things
- 1:59Speaker 2: are happening quickly, it escalated in a good way.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Wow. Yeah, that's that's a lot.
- 2:04Speaker 3: That's like overnight success almost but given that you've obviously
- 2:08Speaker 3: had some grounding before that. But that's a lot to
- 2:10Speaker 3: happen in a small amount of time. So yeah, how
- 2:14Speaker 3: did you How did you guys cope with that?
- 2:16Speaker 4: Did you take it into stride or was it stressful?
- 2:19Speaker 3: Did it affect you know, your creative creativity and that
- 2:22Speaker 3: sort of trajectory.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Well, because we have the background, so we know what
- 2:28Speaker 2: it is to be a professional rock star or the
- 2:31Speaker 2: and playing shows and doing albums and doing promotion and everything.
- 2:35Speaker 2: So we had this background, so it's in our first
- 2:37Speaker 2: memory that what it is to give interviews all day
- 2:40Speaker 2: and travel and do songs and all that. So yeah,
- 2:44Speaker 2: it's been a it's been a just fresh start for
- 2:46Speaker 2: me and I love it. And of course we have
- 2:48Speaker 2: the young drummer Yimi, who has hasn't like experienced the
- 2:52Speaker 2: professional level musician life yet, but he's already super famous
- 2:57Speaker 2: on TikTok and Instagram, so he has following. And we've
- 3:01Speaker 2: been practicing last week for three days in a row
- 3:04Speaker 2: with the whole band. He's really killing it. And then
- 3:07Speaker 2: we have a live guitarist, Sample who is like playing,
- 3:10Speaker 2: only he's like a live member.
- 3:11Speaker 1: He's not in the promo pictures.
- 3:13Speaker 4: Or any Yeah yeah psych a session musician. Yeah yeah yeah, excellent.
- 3:19Speaker 3: And so you've got the new release about to come out.
- 3:23Speaker 3: So how long has that been in the making.
- 3:24Speaker 2: For Well, we started one year ago in April twenty five,
- 3:30Speaker 2: so it came out, came out like everything wrapped together
- 3:34Speaker 2: super quickly. We started basically in around one year ago.
- 3:38Speaker 2: We started to write songs. Of course I had some
- 3:40Speaker 2: ideas and parbably had some idea.
- 3:41Speaker 3: I was going to say, you had some stuff that
- 3:43Speaker 3: you brought to it obviously for myself usually yeah.
- 3:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, And then then we just wrapped it up
- 3:50Speaker 2: on the summer twenty five. We went to studio on
- 3:52Speaker 2: the fall, and then we delivered the master to Nuclear
- 3:55Speaker 2: Blast on November, so and I picked the cover art
- 3:59Speaker 2: and everything just wrapped together quickly. But I guess the
- 4:02Speaker 2: reason for that is that the the event in my
- 4:06Speaker 2: life that I splitted with the band that took off
- 4:09Speaker 2: so big, and then I splited with the band, there
- 4:12Speaker 2: was so much this creative energy inside of me because
- 4:16Speaker 2: I was finally free to express myself. Fulling on with
- 4:20Speaker 2: me and Powally we both because we are we've been
- 4:23Speaker 2: experienced a lot. We've been experienced the same things with
- 4:26Speaker 2: our expands, so we we kind of had this revenge
- 4:31Speaker 2: and it just it clicked so well. I was shocked
- 4:36Speaker 2: about the outcome and I'm.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Still to drive and yeah, but you pulled from from
- 4:43Speaker 3: me creative side. It's it's always interesting when you've got
- 4:46Speaker 3: something that's quite significant that drives you forward, and is
- 4:49Speaker 3: you know the reason and you know it's not surrounded,
- 4:52Speaker 3: but it's definitely certainly a significant factor in you know,
- 4:56Speaker 3: creating and that drive forward and it's so be quite
- 4:59Speaker 3: exciting time and you've got that sort of energy be
- 5:01Speaker 3: find especially for it's times too, which.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely. I mean, revenge is the best motivation.
- 5:07Speaker 4: There is so success. That's revenge to.
- 5:12Speaker 2: I recomment to anyone if you have any any like,
- 5:15Speaker 2: if you have anyone to revenge, like I think Michael
- 5:18Speaker 2: Jordan said that you before every game, you need to
- 5:21Speaker 2: think about that this is a revenge to someone, even.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Though you want to show a look at me now,
- 5:27Speaker 3: you know, yeah, yeah, last yeah, yeah, no, I identify
- 5:33Speaker 3: with that.
- 5:33Speaker 4: You know, I'm the Queen of Petty. Okay, I get that.
- 5:35Speaker 3: So well, it works, It really does, It really really does.
- 5:41Speaker 3: And it's hey, look, there's been many of us who
- 5:44Speaker 3: produced some absolutely damn fine.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Work from it for it.
- 5:47Speaker 3: So it's the artist, you know, doing that thing for
- 5:51Speaker 3: a long time, whether it's the Broken Heart or the
- 5:53Speaker 3: Piste off X or whatever.
- 5:55Speaker 4: It may be.
- 5:55Speaker 3: It's an album and that always happens. Yeah no, that's
- 6:01Speaker 3: that's exciting. So how many members I mean, oh god,
- 6:03Speaker 3: the band. Now you've got together we.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Have right now on the promo pictures and in the
- 6:09Speaker 2: in the band we have three members, but then we
- 6:12Speaker 2: have one live member. So in total on stage there's
- 6:15Speaker 2: four of us. It's drummer, guitars and me. But like
- 6:19Speaker 2: I said, we have like live guitarist, so he's not like,
- 6:23Speaker 2: of course he's going to be playing with us for
- 6:26Speaker 2: I think, for every show, but he's not officially part.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Of the band.
- 6:30Speaker 2: I think Bring Me the Horizon and many other bands
- 6:33Speaker 2: has the same thing. They have like live member. And
- 6:35Speaker 2: I think News has a live member as well because
- 6:38Speaker 2: I saw them in Helsinki and there's two three guys
- 6:40Speaker 2: in the band and then there's one guy playing keyboards
- 6:43Speaker 2: and guitars, so yeah, you have a live members.
- 6:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like, you know, even in the stuff that
- 6:50Speaker 3: I've put out, it's like people who've done it in
- 6:53Speaker 3: studio and made it and then but when it comes
- 6:54Speaker 3: to like performing in you know, doing that, it is
- 6:57Speaker 3: a role that could be filled by you know, whoever
- 6:59Speaker 3: is available. I guess at the time it's not a
- 7:02Speaker 3: set set part, but yeah it is. It's it's good
- 7:05Speaker 3: that you can do that sort.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Of stuff now too.
- 7:06Speaker 3: It makes it a lot more fluid and it's and
- 7:09Speaker 3: you get to present yourself as you know, whatever your
- 7:12Speaker 3: creative actor is not so much yourself or you know,
- 7:15Speaker 3: locked into it a band as such, And especially like
- 7:19Speaker 3: the guitarists and those session musicians, they've got always.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Never short of work when they do that sort of thing,
- 7:23Speaker 4: which is what it's good as well.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, definitely for sure.
- 7:27Speaker 3: And so you guys have obviously got the release coming
- 7:29Speaker 3: out and plans for touring. You've been flat out just
- 7:33Speaker 3: doing touring. Are you plans to come down Under? And
- 7:35Speaker 3: what's the rest of twenty six look like for yourselves.
- 7:39Speaker 1: I've never been to Australia myself.
- 7:42Speaker 2: We went to USA many times with my expand then
- 7:45Speaker 2: we went to Japan and we toured all Europe many times,
- 7:49Speaker 2: so many places, but Australia are still a land that
- 7:53Speaker 2: I've never visited. So of course I'm really looking forward
- 7:56Speaker 2: that when it comes. But why why I'm doing these
- 8:00Speaker 2: interviews to Australia today is that we're trying to open
- 8:04Speaker 2: that for twenty seven, so it has crossed that it
- 8:07Speaker 2: happens a lot. I've always loved Australian music, like from
- 8:11Speaker 2: Savage Garden to Parkway Drive.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Oh my gosh.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Well, so both bands happen to live you know, in
- 8:18Speaker 3: the in the region and where I am am located.
- 8:21Speaker 3: So yeah, Savage Garden, those boys were from Brisbane and
- 8:25Speaker 3: they are pretty awesome in their time. Parkway Drive that
- 8:27Speaker 3: down the road and Byron Bay. Yeah, it's for sure Australia.
- 8:33Speaker 3: We love it over music.
- 8:34Speaker 4: It's certainly, it's not the future of live music is
- 8:38Speaker 4: very healthy. Put it that way.
- 8:40Speaker 3: There's always shows to review when you know, discovering new
- 8:44Speaker 3: releases coming out.
- 8:45Speaker 4: It's it's quite exciting actually, so.
- 8:48Speaker 3: So yeah, it's you know, there's many in doubt, you know,
- 8:51Speaker 3: with the future of anything in this world that we're
- 8:53Speaker 3: in at the moment, isn't there.
- 8:54Speaker 4: It's a bit of a crazy time.
- 8:56Speaker 3: But the fact that music's still doing its thing and
- 8:58Speaker 3: musicians show up and literally the show still goes on, and.
- 9:03Speaker 4: I think the world needs a bit of that, you know.
- 9:05Speaker 3: It's a good step out from reality for a few
- 9:07Speaker 3: people as well.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Definitely, Yeah, you're right, you're right.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, so so yeah, So obviously more plans to
- 9:15Speaker 3: tour for the rest of the year.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Do you have is that what you've got on the
- 9:19Speaker 4: agenda for the band.
- 9:22Speaker 2: If you mean shows, Yeah, doing Finnish big festivals. Then
- 9:28Speaker 2: we'll go to Switzerland in August to play one big
- 9:31Speaker 2: rock festival. I think it's like Lakes before in Flames
- 9:34Speaker 2: and arch Enemy, so I'm really for that.
- 9:37Speaker 1: And then.
- 9:39Speaker 2: All we're probably doing like Finnish club shows and then
- 9:43Speaker 2: we have a plan for the early twenty twenty seven
- 9:45Speaker 2: to go to Europe and then finished cross Latin America Australia. Yeah,
- 9:52Speaker 2: but I think we need to start from there, from
- 9:54Speaker 2: the Europe soctly.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Yeah, do you have like you with your fan base,
- 9:59Speaker 3: you know they've got many like from Australia and over
- 10:02Speaker 3: that way that our fans like, you know, we can
- 10:05Speaker 3: track where people come from just online and stuff.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, a lot of them are so far in
- 10:12Speaker 2: Europe because some experands were so huge in Europe.
- 10:16Speaker 1: So we have a same fan base following us.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, if you say the new release, it's always
- 10:23Speaker 3: that opportunity for that to expand and to be promoted
- 10:26Speaker 3: in the right way. So all as the listeners out
- 10:29Speaker 3: there get ahold of it, show them some love and
- 10:32Speaker 3: get your teeth into it and get them this way
- 10:34Speaker 3: because we we always love it, love love, finding new
- 10:37Speaker 3: stuff as well and find yourself a random playlist somewhere
- 10:40Speaker 3: and next thing your load dinner and totally I'm unforeseen area,
- 10:44Speaker 3: which is always love hearing or artists at that experience.
- 10:48Speaker 3: It's the technology today. It's like, yeah, it's so different
- 10:52Speaker 3: to when it was, you know, records dinner, record store
- 10:55Speaker 3: kind of thing, and you know, down to literally was
- 10:58Speaker 3: relying on your marketing manager and that kind of thing.
- 11:01Speaker 4: Now it's come what made the gods of the internet.
- 11:05Speaker 4: You have the power over that. But yeah, but will
- 11:08Speaker 4: say you you you do.
- 11:10Speaker 3: You have a striking resemblance to the one and only
- 11:13Speaker 3: Kirk Cobain, which is always a pretty pretty good key factor.
- 11:19Speaker 1: It's I've heard all the time.
- 11:22Speaker 2: But unfortunately, I have a plan to get rid of
- 11:26Speaker 2: this blonde because it's it's so.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Hard to like keep it in.
- 11:31Speaker 4: This like I may not I get it. I'm so
- 11:35Speaker 4: overdying myself. But no, it's great.
- 11:37Speaker 3: You literally you are. Your eyes are striking. You look
- 11:41Speaker 3: very much like Cobain, which is a good things he's
- 11:45Speaker 3: come back in the.
- 11:46Speaker 4: Form of.
- 11:49Speaker 1: But it's it's a great compliment.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Definitely, absolutely absolutely, I take that one in your stripe
- 11:55Speaker 3: for sure.
- 11:56Speaker 4: Yeah, well, that's exciting. So we've got a bit of
- 11:59Speaker 4: a listen.
- 11:59Speaker 3: So with their new releases just come out, which I have,
- 12:03Speaker 3: as I said, to have a bit of a sneaky
- 12:05Speaker 3: listen to it. So it's pretty heavy. It delivers the goods.
- 12:07Speaker 3: It's certainly not it's not politely entering the sound.
- 12:12Speaker 4: Waves, that's for sure.
- 12:14Speaker 3: So yeah, for yourself, do you have like a favorite
- 12:17Speaker 3: track or anything that stands out in terms of the
- 12:21Speaker 3: creation of it all?
- 12:23Speaker 2: Right now, I'm listening a lot of Angels Fall and
- 12:25Speaker 2: Murder Ballad because those are not singles and I'm kind
- 12:28Speaker 2: of done with the singles because they've been out and
- 12:32Speaker 2: you hear it all the time on TikTok and Spotify,
- 12:35Speaker 2: So I'm like waiting for people to hear angel Fall
- 12:38Speaker 2: and murder Ballad. And I think Turban's song is cool.
- 12:41Speaker 2: All the album tracks are actually my favorites right now.
- 12:44Speaker 4: Yeah, that's good. That's good. That's good.
- 12:48Speaker 3: And you have got more that you as you said,
- 12:50Speaker 3: you know, you had some together collaboratively put that album together.
- 12:55Speaker 4: Did you have stuff that you're working on for a
- 12:56Speaker 4: new album?
- 12:57Speaker 3: And do we or going to be like a hi
- 13:00Speaker 3: It is like some bands like take fifteen, So for
- 13:02Speaker 3: the next one out, I don't know how they do that.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Our main mentality in this project is to have fun
- 13:11Speaker 2: when we write songs, so we like we make this
- 13:15Speaker 2: raw demos all the time, and we don't like we
- 13:18Speaker 2: don't try to like just working one song for until
- 13:22Speaker 2: t ready. We try to like start again or every
- 13:25Speaker 2: day with a new idea and then we just listen
- 13:27Speaker 2: to the ideas and which one of them are the
- 13:29Speaker 2: best ones. So we're gonna work on that and make it,
- 13:32Speaker 2: make it like a full song, but we just trying
- 13:34Speaker 2: to add one and we don't force anything. If if
- 13:38Speaker 2: there is no songs coming out, then it's it doesn't.
- 13:40Speaker 1: But right now we're in a good position.
- 13:42Speaker 2: We have a lot of ideas and we have already
- 13:46Speaker 2: the concept for the second album because we're starting we're
- 13:49Speaker 2: starting from the four IV.
- 13:51Speaker 1: So everyone can imagine what is the next.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Album called nice Nice? I'll make that up to the
- 13:59Speaker 3: lists to figure that one out. So you are not
- 14:04Speaker 3: too odd, why don't we get canceled either? So with
- 14:08Speaker 3: your do you start writing your riffs first or your
- 14:12Speaker 3: lyrics or how about how do your songs generally come together?
- 14:16Speaker 2: We need to have this like visual or lyrical concept
- 14:22Speaker 2: where we build on around, like for example, about the
- 14:27Speaker 2: last like this album right now, I think I had
- 14:30Speaker 2: the concept of death by Cup Its Arrow, like I.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Want to write a song about love that kills you.
- 14:35Speaker 2: So we kind of like twisted it around and tried
- 14:39Speaker 2: every angle that how it would work, and then we
- 14:42Speaker 2: came up with the song I'm saying happened.
- 14:44Speaker 1: With the with the Blackbird.
- 14:45Speaker 2: We were like, we were visualizing this crows and blackbirds
- 14:49Speaker 2: flying in the sky and how they sound like, and
- 14:52Speaker 2: how would the riffs sound if you visually visualize blackbird.
- 14:56Speaker 2: So that's where I came up with the song. And
- 14:57Speaker 2: at the same time, Blackbird is obviously like a revenge
- 15:02Speaker 2: like if you see in your backyard, It's like, Okay,
- 15:04Speaker 2: this is a dead wish from someone, and I can
- 15:07Speaker 2: tell a story, and we're creating this law around this
- 15:10Speaker 2: whole hook version we call it like yeah, yeah, We're
- 15:15Speaker 2: heavily influenced by like Osio is Born and Ghost and
- 15:18Speaker 2: all of these bands that has this lore like this
- 15:22Speaker 2: star and this visual world, and we have the Red Cape,
- 15:25Speaker 2: we had the Sense and Warrior and this world is
- 15:30Speaker 2: building up right now and I'm yeah, it's in in
- 15:34Speaker 2: the well and the starting point yet.
- 15:36Speaker 3: But yeah, you need to put on a nice big
- 15:39Speaker 3: stage production when you guys do your do your shows
- 15:42Speaker 3: on the taking.
- 15:43Speaker 2: Yeah, we need to start with the realistic stuff, like, yeah,
- 15:48Speaker 2: we would love to have like big screens and everything
- 15:51Speaker 2: on every show, but we need to understand that we're
- 15:54Speaker 2: starting from the opening slot of the festivals and we're
- 15:56Speaker 2: still playing like five hundred to one thousand clubs in Finland.
- 16:00Speaker 1: So you can bring like the biggest screen ever around
- 16:03Speaker 1: the pirates.
- 16:04Speaker 4: You need to start Costumes play a big role in
- 16:06Speaker 4: the costume.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Red caves and and different jackets. And never got to.
- 16:12Speaker 3: See the Hemoth earlier in the year, and I was
- 16:14Speaker 3: just blown away, like I love that, loved it.
- 16:17Speaker 4: It was theatrical performative and it was Yeah.
- 16:20Speaker 3: So that kind of thing I think is it's nice
- 16:23Speaker 3: to see that in still in a music way.
- 16:25Speaker 1: You know, I'm going to be a bad man.
- 16:31Speaker 4: Yeah nice.
- 16:31Speaker 3: And I see you looking like this now, like oh,
- 16:34Speaker 3: he's a cute, little younger cabane and you probably get
- 16:36Speaker 3: a stage and just like like Satan himself or something like.
- 16:41Speaker 4: That.
- 16:43Speaker 3: I think more of that. That's some that's been a
- 16:46Speaker 3: bit lost. I think in in a metal metal core
- 16:48Speaker 3: over the time. It's you know, it's double that the
- 16:51Speaker 3: fluff offered and I'm all for it, bring it back.
- 16:54Speaker 4: I love that.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Try my best.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:57Speaker 3: No, it's definitely a trend that I am. I happily
- 17:00Speaker 3: be on board and be part of, and I am
- 17:03Speaker 3: who doesn't love dressing up.
