Man Convicted in Land Fraud Case | Uganda News
A businessman in Gomba District, Amos Mwesigye, got a brutal legal reckoning after being convicted of swindling three hundred million shillings from a buyer by falsely claiming ownership of disputed land. Found guilty of fraud in a 2020 land deal, he now faces a two-million-shilling fine or eight months in jail — plus the daunting task of paying back the full amount to the victim, Steven Kagyenyi, with five million shillings due upfront and the remaining 295 million within eight months after release.
