- 0:20Speaker 1: We'll get to we can observations here in just a second.
- 0:24Speaker 1: This is the way I communicate with management at Fox

- 0:40Speaker 1: I would like for us to be able to broadcast
- 0:43Speaker 1: live from Marlin's Park because it is a Fox vehicle
- 0:46Speaker 1: on television and we are Fox Sports Radio. So I
- 0:49Speaker 1: am telling management right now if you can arrange that
- 0:52Speaker 1: the next twenty four hours, please get it done.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Me, Taylor and Izzy live in the World Baseball Classic.
- 0:59Speaker 3: How about that?
- 0:59Speaker 4: Goeing. Miami's way too far from me?
- 1:01Speaker 1: Really, yeah, I'm here because Miami's way too far.
- 1:05Speaker 5: He got us next to Jeter in a booth.
- 1:07Speaker 3: I do I do? I do?
- 1:09Speaker 1: I mean, let's take advantage of this Fox relationship that.
- 1:11Speaker 6: We have poor Aiden holloway Man. That's the guy from Alabama.
- 1:16Speaker 6: He's been arrested on felony drug charges. Yeah, he had
- 1:20Speaker 6: a pound of weed on him. Clearly he was just
- 1:23Speaker 6: trying to, you know, buy in bulk and save some
- 1:26Speaker 6: money and be cost of fishing over here. Now he
- 1:28Speaker 6: might have a felony charge, right, I.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Mean, who amongst us doesn't have a pound of weed
- 1:32Speaker 1: just laying around, well.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Most of us. What a pound is a lot, man.
- 1:40Speaker 1: So I am nervous because I'm doing the weekend observations.
- 1:43Speaker 1: By the way Taylor put it on the pole, did
- 1:44Speaker 1: you know fad Mada was still coaching.
- 1:47Speaker 4: I always assumed he's coaching somewhere.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I had no idea he was still coaching until Dan
- 1:52Speaker 1: Byer just told us that he quit.
- 1:53Speaker 4: Didn't seem like the retiring type.
- 1:55Speaker 1: I am nervous here because I'm doing the we ken observations,
- 1:58Speaker 1: not because I'm doing.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Them live on the I've done them live on the
- 2:01Speaker 3: air a million times. But this is bored up.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Ricardo's first time handling the beeps the sound effects that
- 2:07Speaker 1: go with this. And I'm also not certain if anyone
- 2:10Speaker 1: asked Dan Buyer to stick around, because I need to
- 2:13Speaker 1: do the weekend observations for Dan. Dan, has anyone asked you?
- 2:17Speaker 1: And you should probably renegotiate your contract right now.
- 2:19Speaker 7: Oh yeah, no, that one Taylor and I were good
- 2:21Speaker 7: on Mount Rushmore. This is news to me.
- 2:24Speaker 3: That was just Dan. Dan.
- 2:25Speaker 6: Let me let me just let you know how this works.
- 2:28Speaker 6: Your name just has to be Dan. You don't have
- 2:30Speaker 6: to say or do anything.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I might throw it to you to guess something, but
- 2:33Speaker 1: it's up to you whether or not you want to respond.
- 2:35Speaker 3: You got it ready to go?
- 2:37Speaker 1: He seems thrill more importantly bored up, Ricardo. Are you
- 2:44Speaker 1: ready to go?
- 2:45Speaker 3: Oh?
- 2:45Speaker 5: I'm ready to go. I've been preparing this my whole life.
- 2:48Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Okay, let's not botch it. Okay, no pressure though, give
- 2:51Speaker 1: me the image.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Go ahead, Dan Buyer.
- 3:04Speaker 1: It's time picking games based on which mascot you like better.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Reading up on the small schools you didn't watch play
- 3:13Speaker 1: a second of basketball to gain some sort of advantage,
- 3:18Speaker 1: having all four to one seeds in the final four,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and then panic changing it at the very last seconds
- 3:26Speaker 1: the five versus twelve matchup finding this year's Cinderella. Get
- 3:32Speaker 1: your pens and pencil ready, because Dan Buyer just like that.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Make no mistake about it. That feeling of filling out
- 3:45Speaker 1: a brackets is back.
- 3:48Speaker 4: All right so far Ricardo about an eight out of
- 3:50Speaker 4: ten keep up all right?
- 3:51Speaker 1: Not bid bit Dan, ten out of ten love it
- 3:55Speaker 1: speaking of back umbc back in the torn In, out
- 4:01Speaker 1: of the American East Conference, the Retrievers, Golden Mark DeRosa
- 4:08Speaker 1: not knowing the rules yet still making it to the
- 4:11Speaker 1: World Baseball Classic Championship. Game Mark, the stugatts is strong
- 4:17Speaker 1: in you Classic, Dan.
- 4:20Speaker 3: You know what the m and McK cronin stands for.
- 4:23Speaker 3: What's up? It stands for March.
- 4:27Speaker 4: You can put in a guess anytime you want, Dan.
- 4:29Speaker 4: You don't just have to. It's not like a knock
- 4:31Speaker 4: knock joke.
- 4:33Speaker 1: If you haven't printed out a bracket and filled it
- 4:36Speaker 1: out with a pen or a pencil, guess what, Dan,
- 4:40Speaker 1: you suck?
- 4:42Speaker 3: You haven't filled out a bracket.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Not a terrible guess.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Oh God.
- 4:47Speaker 1: The MLB should replace its regular season with more World
- 4:51Speaker 1: Baseball Classic.
- 4:53Speaker 3: They should put it on the Paul Taylor that.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Ken Rosenthal look like a toddler standing next to Paul Skens.
- 5:04Speaker 1: You know is he They don't call him Ken Rosenthall.
- 5:13Speaker 1: That's funny, But why would it toss to me?
- 5:16Speaker 3: He doesn't seem interested.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Gunner Henderson entering that game seven for nine lifetime against
- 5:25Speaker 1: Luis Cerevino before hitting a home run, Dan, you know
- 5:30Speaker 1: what Gunner Henderson had?
- 5:32Speaker 3: What's that Stu? He had? Serevino's number? How about that tomato?
- 5:40Speaker 8: Tomato?
- 5:42Speaker 1: I don't know if it was my place, it's always
- 5:46Speaker 1: your place. You would think after a certain point teams
- 5:51Speaker 1: would learn to stop running on Aaron Judge. You know
- 5:54Speaker 1: what for Fernando tatist Junior? Did he learned the hard way?
- 6:01Speaker 3: He did?
- 6:03Speaker 6: Yeah, I know that was confusing, Dan, because he didn't
- 6:04Speaker 6: say your name when he asked a question.
- 6:06Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 3: He was also quick as there.
- 6:08Speaker 7: Yeah, I thought there was a pregnant pause somewhere along
- 6:10Speaker 7: the way.
- 6:12Speaker 1: That Paul Skean's the rare pitcher whose biggest start all year.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Will be in March.
- 6:23Speaker 6: You think he thought about that. It's gonna be the
- 6:25Speaker 6: biggest start I have all year.
- 6:27Speaker 3: I do.
- 6:27Speaker 5: Actually that was his Game seven.
- 6:32Speaker 1: When Mark DeRosa took the ball from Paul Skeens, he
- 6:36Speaker 1: should have thanked him for his service.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Put it on the pol Taylor.
- 6:41Speaker 1: When Mark DeRosa took the ball from Skians. Should he
- 6:44Speaker 1: thanked him for his service? Trek Scooble has no business
- 6:49Speaker 1: being in that dugout now that it's Trek Schooble. Whatever
- 6:54Speaker 1: to read, Trek. You know what the tea and trek
- 6:57Speaker 1: stands for, right, Dan?
- 6:58Speaker 5: Absolutely, somebody's going to Tomato.
- 7:05Speaker 1: David Bednar pitch is better when his back is against
- 7:09Speaker 1: the wall.
- 7:10Speaker 3: You know what the bee and Bednar stands for, Dan Bednar?
- 7:15Speaker 1: It Ah, good, guess I see why you would have
- 7:18Speaker 1: gone there. But no, it stands for balls.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Yes, let's see how I got set up there, Dan?
- 7:23Speaker 3: And that? Yeah, and that of the strikes variety.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yes, if the World Baseball Classic taught me anything it's
- 7:30Speaker 1: that we need to get Junior Caminaro out of Tampa
- 7:34Speaker 1: Bay and onto a contender. Well, Taylor wrote that, and
- 7:39Speaker 1: I'm telling you right now he thinks he wants to
- 7:41Speaker 1: make him a Yankee, and he's not gonna be a Yankee.
- 7:42Speaker 3: He's gonna be a Dodger.
- 7:43Speaker 4: It sounds like a Yankee name, Junior Caminaro.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Yes, well, it sounds like a Dodger name too. All
- 7:48Speaker 1: the names sound like Dodger names, don't they. Yeah, Junior
- 7:54Speaker 1: Caminaro is bat Toss went further than any Jets passed
- 7:58Speaker 1: this season.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Timely with Justin Fields.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Us a d R the rare semi final World Baseball
- 8:10Speaker 1: Classic game that felt like a final.
- 8:13Speaker 4: You see Dan trying to bring it back to his
- 8:14Speaker 4: update there with Justin Fields nugget. Yes, I do good
- 8:17Speaker 4: work there, Dan.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Frean McCaffrey is coaching at Penn. Who knew? And he's
- 8:24Speaker 3: got him dancing the Quakers.
- 8:28Speaker 1: March the selection show on CBS, going from Jay Wright
- 8:35Speaker 1: to Bruce Pearl downgrade.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Ouch, that's true, thank you?
- 8:43Speaker 4: Do we work with a member of the Pearl family.
- 8:45Speaker 3: I have no idea. I hope that.
- 8:46Speaker 5: I'm sorry, No, we don't gos where we worked? Tis
- 8:50Speaker 5: thank you?
- 8:51Speaker 1: The Big East runs through Rick Patino, the Johnnies, It does,
- 8:56Speaker 1: it does right.
- 8:57Speaker 3: There were rob five seed get out of here? What
- 9:00Speaker 3: year is it? Would you be mad?
- 9:04Speaker 4: Runs through Rick Patino? Is crazy?
- 9:06Speaker 7: Would you be mad doing the San Diego? Oh no, no, no, yeah,
- 9:10Speaker 7: that's the that's the rub of it Cross conto.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Rick doesn't like the daylight, the sunshine. He can, he's
- 9:16Speaker 1: not allowed to go outside.
- 9:19Speaker 4: He's a vampire. Dan, I don't know if that's a joke.
- 9:21Speaker 4: You're familiar with. But he's a vampire.
- 9:23Speaker 3: Are there are Italian restaurants in San Diego?
- 9:26Speaker 4: He only needs it for a couple.
- 9:30Speaker 3: He'll be real quick in and out fast food. Oh god.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Second round of the NCAA Tournament, Rick Pattino versus Bill
- 9:44Speaker 1: Selth go ahead, Circle its.
- 9:49Speaker 4: Big game. If they get to it, make sure it's
- 9:53Speaker 4: at night.
- 9:54Speaker 3: USA Baseball do it against Italy.
- 9:58Speaker 4: Powerhouse. Those Italians, they really are Italy's reliever.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Greg Weissert is the Marianna Rivera of the World Baseball Classic,
- 10:09Speaker 1: And somehow Marianna Rivera sounds more Italian than Greg Weissert.
- 10:23Speaker 3: I refuse to believe this.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Many people actually care about Miami of Ohio, strength of schedule,
- 10:31Speaker 1: they had to get in. Man, when they're in one
- 10:34Speaker 1: of the talks of the year. I have them gone
- 10:35Speaker 1: to the final four with Nebraska. Yes, it's going to
- 10:39Speaker 1: be a terrible final four. Death taxes and Oklahoma basketball
- 10:48Speaker 1: in the first four out on selection Sunday.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Is that their thing?
- 10:53Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like three straight years as well. Yeah, you're right,
- 11:00Speaker 3: is he your boy? Ludwig Oberg?
- 11:03Speaker 6: No, Man, I was so, I was like, okay, I
- 11:08Speaker 6: finally figured out and just make it sound like a No,
- 11:10Speaker 6: I've got that one figured out. And then somebody who's like,
- 11:13Speaker 6: I don't know what his name was, like herb Jorn
- 11:16Speaker 6: jen Binson was on there.
- 11:17Speaker 5: I was like, oh my god, please don't win this tournament.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Man, let's go Cam Young.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Yeah, we called it on Friday, Can Young's and named
- 11:26Speaker 1: to pronounce yes anyway, Ludwig Oberg more like Ludwig.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Oh boy, what a joke job is he? Yeah? That
- 11:39Speaker 3: little symbol in Oberg's name that you're terrified of, You
- 11:42Speaker 3: know what it stands for?
- 11:44Speaker 4: How many wins?
- 11:44Speaker 9: He?
- 11:44Speaker 3: It stands for choke job.
- 11:48Speaker 1: The five hundred loudest moments in Marlin's Park history have
- 11:52Speaker 1: all been in the World Baseball classes, not a Marlin
- 11:56Speaker 1: amongst them, USA beating Canada. So when it's fifth straight
- 12:03Speaker 1: Paralympic sled hockey gold medal, seated rivalry.
- 12:08Speaker 6: I just saw that Instagram post and I didn't know
- 12:11Speaker 6: what to think. I was like, am I supposed to
- 12:13Speaker 6: laugh at this? Am I supposed to be offended by this?
- 12:15Speaker 6: And I'm like, everybody's cool, all right? Cool seated ribber
- 12:18Speaker 6: I like.
- 12:19Speaker 3: La Lakers getting hot at the right time.
- 12:24Speaker 6: Well, I could give you a million guesses. I don't
- 12:25Speaker 6: think you could guess the hottest team in the NBA
- 12:28Speaker 6: right now by win streak no longer than Hornets. No, well,
- 12:33Speaker 6: I could give you thirty guesses and you'd probably get it.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Would have to right.
- 12:39Speaker 4: It was the Atlanta Hawks. Get out of you, the
- 12:42Speaker 4: Cardivorodulate in nine game win streak.
- 12:43Speaker 1: I've ever seen a yeah, well he's a basketball players
- 12:47Speaker 1: looking at the standings.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Just big team with the longest win streak.
- 12:50Speaker 6: They beat one winning team and one team with a
- 12:53Speaker 6: winning record in that streak, and that was the Sixers without.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Em beat Arizona finally winning its first Big twelve time
- 13:00Speaker 1: since joining the conference.
- 13:03Speaker 3: You know what they were, Dan, what's that stud they were?
- 13:07Speaker 6: Come on, man, even a rookie gets that one.
- 13:11Speaker 3: John Calipari still got it, Still got it. He's got it. Jesus,
- 13:18Speaker 3: it is sterious.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Yes, so good.
- 13:21Speaker 6: All March might be the best Calipari guard that's ever
- 13:24Speaker 6: played in college.
- 13:25Speaker 4: That's saying a lot.
- 13:26Speaker 5: Whoa hey, here comes the prisoner of the moment.
- 13:30Speaker 4: He's pretty darn good.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I mean, he coached some pretty good guards, didn't uh,
- 13:33Speaker 1: John Wall, Yes, Derek Rose, didn't he coach Derek.
- 13:36Speaker 3: He did.
- 13:37Speaker 5: He did, he said Kentucky.
- 13:39Speaker 10: No, maybe I didn't, I said, calimb PARI guard I'm
- 13:44Speaker 10: ready to call it John Calipari won the divorce with Kentucky.
- 13:52Speaker 3: He did, He definitely did. He did.
- 13:54Speaker 1: When Dayton hit a buzzer beater against Saint Louis, I
- 13:58Speaker 1: turned to Abbey, had said, March.
- 14:01Speaker 3: She said what, And I just said never mind?
- 14:06Speaker 6: She said, why am I sitting on the couch with
- 14:07Speaker 6: you watching Saint Louis play basketball?
- 14:09Speaker 3: What is happening?
- 14:10Speaker 1: I mean, Abby's got so many brackets filled out, She
- 14:12Speaker 1: has no idea. She got the Gators in her main one, right, Yeah,
- 14:16Speaker 1: she has the Gators. She also likes Nebraska, she does.
- 14:18Speaker 1: She likes Nebraska to advance of the Final Four. That
- 14:22Speaker 1: game hell of a finish.
- 14:26Speaker 4: I forget which game we're talking about, before you get.
- 14:29Speaker 3: To the clothes, the Flyers and the Billikins. Yeah no.
- 14:32Speaker 4: When you turned to Abby, right, yeah, hell of a finish?
- 14:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I said, Mark, she said, what cream abdul jabbar three?
- 14:41Speaker 3: That game hell of a finish?
- 14:43Speaker 1: Speaking of Hell or Briles, Dan, those are the weak
- 14:49Speaker 1: can observations loved it.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gotson Company
- 14:57Speaker 2: Live Weekday you said, three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific

- 15:11Speaker 1: the final segment, Excited to talk to an old friend.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Here it is March. Seth Greenberg joins us. Here, Seth,
- 15:19Speaker 3: how are you happy? March?
- 15:20Speaker 9: To you?
- 15:21Speaker 3: Happy NCAA tournament?
- 15:22Speaker 9: To you, sir, it's just good, can't good play? Let's
- 15:26Speaker 9: get this thing going waiting for us for a long time.
- 15:30Speaker 1: Do you get annoyed by all the people who haven't
- 15:32Speaker 1: been waiting for this for a long time, who just
- 15:35Speaker 1: kind of stroll around your sport once the tournament starts?
- 15:37Speaker 3: Is that frustrating to you?
- 15:39Speaker 2: Oh?
- 15:40Speaker 9: Once the NFL Super Bowl. Oh there's another sport going
- 15:44Speaker 9: on here. It's called basketball. Me. But this has been
- 15:48Speaker 9: one of the most watched seasons in college basketball a
- 15:50Speaker 9: long time. Someone has to do with the freshman and
- 15:53Speaker 9: how good they are. Someone has to do with last
- 15:55Speaker 9: year the four number ones. I think style of plays
- 15:59Speaker 9: had a lot to do with it. But it's been
- 16:00Speaker 9: a great year. I mean, more really good players, more
- 16:03Speaker 9: good teams even like everyone's losing their mirrow. The bubble soft.
- 16:07Speaker 9: Actually the bubble wasn't soft. The problem is each league
- 16:11Speaker 9: had two or three really teams that maybe separate themselves,
- 16:14Speaker 9: and then they have nine teams because see, leagues are
- 16:16Speaker 9: so big that would just beat each other up. So
- 16:19Speaker 9: they end up like eight and ten or nine and nine,
- 16:22Speaker 9: and if they played their fairly difficult non conference schedule,
- 16:26Speaker 9: they end up with thirteen or fourteen losses, and people
- 16:31Speaker 9: perceive that as the bubble is soft and trilogious. The
- 16:35Speaker 9: good teams are playing against each other more games, and
- 16:38Speaker 9: there's more parody.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Seth. There's something.
- 16:41Speaker 6: There's a handful of teams that when they're sort of
- 16:43Speaker 6: on the top line or the number one overall, Sea
- 16:45Speaker 6: just brings a little extra juice to the tournament.
- 16:48Speaker 4: It feels like Duke being that top seed does that
- 16:51Speaker 4: for this tournament.
- 16:52Speaker 6: What is it about Duke this year that makes them
- 16:55Speaker 6: so good in particular? And what kind of pressure is
- 16:58Speaker 6: on them now at this point does it feel like
- 17:00Speaker 6: they have to get this done?
- 17:03Speaker 9: Well? I think it's less pressure because they might be
- 17:05Speaker 9: about two of their starters and Patrick and for sure
- 17:09Speaker 9: killing Foster. So I mean, how many teams can afford
- 17:11Speaker 9: to lose two starters and still continue to compete for
- 17:14Speaker 9: national championship. And I think they can't compete for national championship.
- 17:18Speaker 9: Of course, they've got an elite shooter and as a Evans,
- 17:20Speaker 9: and they got Cam Boozer, who's just a little bit different.
- 17:23Speaker 9: Kayden played great the last few games in the ACZ Tournament,
- 17:27Speaker 9: and he's getting starters reps. They're an elite defensive team.
- 17:31Speaker 9: Everyone does what they do well, and Duke is a brand.
- 17:34Speaker 9: I mean, either you like him or hate him or
- 17:36Speaker 9: the Yankees seth.
- 17:38Speaker 1: It's good to see Saint John's back in the mix
- 17:40Speaker 1: in college basketball. And I'm wondering here because it felt
- 17:44Speaker 1: to me like they should have been a two to three,
- 17:45Speaker 1: maybe a three seed, but the committee disrespected the season,
- 17:48Speaker 1: the body of work, and the season they put together.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Is that fair?
- 17:53Speaker 1: Uh?
- 17:53Speaker 9: Yes? And no. The two wins against Connecticut obviously negated
- 17:57Speaker 9: a little bit by the one blowout against Connecticut, but
- 18:00Speaker 9: they didn't get anything in the non conference. Any Big
- 18:02Speaker 9: East was there, so they just didn't get opportunities they
- 18:06Speaker 9: get those wins that would compare to teams that maybe
- 18:09Speaker 9: put tag I thought they'd get it four, but they
- 18:11Speaker 9: didn't get the winns they needed to get to get
- 18:15Speaker 9: up to like a three. I mean like like they
- 18:17Speaker 9: had a great year. Compare their resumeative to Arkansas's. Arkansas
- 18:22Speaker 9: got till four there were five. Arkansas won the SEC
- 18:25Speaker 9: much deeper SEC. So it it's like splitting the hairs.
- 18:29Speaker 9: I think the most important thing is, you know regions
- 18:31Speaker 9: where you know if they're trying to get to the
- 18:33Speaker 9: point of Florida that's second weekend, where are you.
- 18:35Speaker 6: Playing seth with Florida coming back as the one seed
- 18:40Speaker 6: to defending national champs.
- 18:42Speaker 4: I watched them all year long. I'm a Gator myself.
- 18:45Speaker 6: I haven't seen them really find a replacement guy that
- 18:49Speaker 6: they can trust, like Walter Clayton, because it's either a
- 18:51Speaker 6: blowout to them or if that's at the time that I've.
- 18:53Speaker 4: Watched, or they struggle a little bit in the clutch.
- 18:56Speaker 6: What do you think about Florida. I know they've had
- 18:58Speaker 6: the transfer guards. Really they sort of come into their own,
- 19:01Speaker 6: But do they have that type.
- 19:02Speaker 4: Of win it all sort of player like Walter Clayton
- 19:05Speaker 4: in this unit.
- 19:06Speaker 9: I think the last year it was the guards. This
- 19:08Speaker 9: shir it's the Biggs this year, it's the getting ex
- 19:10Speaker 9: possessions on the glass, get expositions off your defense. Do
- 19:14Speaker 9: they have a guy like Walter Clayton they can drive
- 19:17Speaker 9: it in, pull it out, back step and knock down
- 19:20Speaker 9: threes in multiple tournaments. No, I don't think so. But
- 19:23Speaker 9: they're gonna get extra possessions off their defense, and they're
- 19:25Speaker 9: ridiculous in transition. I do. I'm concerned. I mean, I
- 19:30Speaker 9: thought they were going They went twelve and a old,
- 19:31Speaker 9: they were playing great, and then they had a meltdown
- 19:34Speaker 9: in the SEC tournament. Even the game they won, I
- 19:36Speaker 9: mean turned it over and didn't shoot the ball well.
- 19:39Speaker 9: Kind of We're a little out of sync and I'm
- 19:41Speaker 9: sure practice is probably kicked that out of them a
- 19:43Speaker 9: little bit. But they're still really, really good. They could
- 19:46Speaker 9: win the national championship, but their guard play is a
- 19:49Speaker 9: little bit fragile, even though it was better.
- 19:52Speaker 3: Set.
- 19:53Speaker 5: There's a lot of big names in this tournament. Cameron Boozer,
- 19:56Speaker 5: Darren Peterson, Cole Pete, Agent De Bonsa.
- 19:59Speaker 3: Who's in.
- 20:00Speaker 5: That's kind of going under the radar for a team
- 20:02Speaker 5: that could get hot and make a run this March.
- 20:05Speaker 9: It's fairy take off. I mean, he's he's ridiculous. He's
- 20:08Speaker 9: Damian Lillard. I mean, you see if you saw what
- 20:10Speaker 9: he did the SEC tournament. So he did all season long,
- 20:14Speaker 9: especially at the end of the game. I call him
- 20:18Speaker 9: he's a starter, like you're talking baseball. He's a starter
- 20:21Speaker 9: and a closer. I mean that's he starts the game
- 20:26Speaker 9: and then he finishes up and he makes sure I play.
- 20:29Speaker 9: At the end of that game. The other night, you know,
- 20:31Speaker 9: he had about thirty points, but the three biggest players
- 20:34Speaker 9: in the game, he drew crowd, made the pass and
- 20:37Speaker 9: opened up Trevin Brazil for wide open shots. So his
- 20:41Speaker 9: feel is great. He's got a big, thick body. He
- 20:46Speaker 9: does a nice job of change his speed, stopping and
- 20:49Speaker 9: then accelerating. He's really a special special talent. Just in
- 20:54Speaker 9: terms of big picture, I mean, Cole Pete's been great,
- 20:57Speaker 9: Kingston Fleming has been great, all these fresh minute Michael
- 21:00Speaker 9: Brown of his backs and the right it's been great.
- 21:03Speaker 9: They've all been great. Keith Woggler's been great, But uh
- 21:06Speaker 9: Acuff is probably until the last few weeks underappreciated.
- 21:10Speaker 6: A Cuff is up there among like Kyle Perry's best guards.
- 21:14Speaker 6: Right outside of the Eric Rose division.
- 21:17Speaker 9: Yeah, right in that there conversation, right in that Tires
- 21:22Speaker 9: MAXI conversation, right in all the great guards that he's had.
- 21:25Speaker 9: I mean, if you watch them play the things, that
- 21:27Speaker 9: does just goof. Like we were like little kids sitting
- 21:31Speaker 9: on the on the on the set watching the end
- 21:34Speaker 9: of the first half and then in the second half
- 21:36Speaker 9: of that Arkansas Championship game, the shots that guys were
- 21:40Speaker 9: making just crazy.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Uh, Seth is Mick Croning crazy.
- 21:47Speaker 9: Yeah, he's fought by crazy. But I'll tell you what
- 21:50Speaker 9: asy as he is as crazy as he is. Yes,
- 21:55Speaker 9: like everything that happened, and I'm gonna ask you guys,
- 21:58Speaker 9: because you guys are around it, you guys live it.
- 22:02Speaker 9: The Michigan State game, I thought one or two things
- 22:05Speaker 9: were gonna happen. He was either get fired or the
- 22:06Speaker 9: kids were going to quit on them. And then they
- 22:08Speaker 9: won nine un their next eleven, right, And that's so
- 22:11Speaker 9: likely that the people don't understand and he was one
- 22:14Speaker 9: hundred percent wrong in that situation. I'm not gonna donate anything,
- 22:17Speaker 9: but people don't understand that when those guys started to
- 22:20Speaker 9: play it at ucl anything, who they're getting and he's
- 22:25Speaker 9: he is bat blank crazy. But the amount of time
- 22:28Speaker 9: he spends with those players, and how much he cares
- 22:30Speaker 9: about him as people, and how much he pours into him.
- 22:34Speaker 9: They understand it. They understand dad of what he is,
- 22:39Speaker 9: But in the end, who he is is a guy
- 22:41Speaker 9: who's really passionate and really cares about his players.
- 22:44Speaker 5: Seth, I was watching ESPN Selection Show and your bracket
- 22:48Speaker 5: you have Michigan State versus Michigan in the National Championship.
- 22:52Speaker 5: I'm wondering what would that do to both Michigan fan
- 22:55Speaker 5: bases because I don't think either fan base would be
- 22:58Speaker 5: ready for that.
- 23:00Speaker 9: Flow over guarantee big tage a championship. Uh, it has
- 23:04Speaker 9: happened since the last one. I mean, I'm gonna we
- 23:09Speaker 9: stillize this full disclosure here and and I'm gonna finalize mine.
- 23:13Speaker 9: But we felt those brackets. And if you're watching that show,
- 23:16Speaker 9: you see it's looking down. We're looking down, We're filling
- 23:19Speaker 9: out the brackets as we're talking, like if Bills is talking,
- 23:23Speaker 9: I'm feeling we thought out those brackets in about three
- 23:25Speaker 9: four minutes, so stuff. But but I mean, look, that
- 23:29Speaker 9: could happen Michigan State, Jeremy Fears is terrific. Uh, They've
- 23:32Speaker 9: got a physicality defensive. They've got two seniors up front
- 23:36Speaker 9: that are really like Carson Cooper has become a really
- 23:38Speaker 9: good player. I mean Jackson coll is a tough patch up.
- 23:41Speaker 9: They're making enough shots they defend their rebound that could happen. Uh.
- 23:46Speaker 9: Duke without you know, without Callum is a different Duke team.
- 23:50Speaker 9: So uh. And you know, Michigan's good and that was
- 23:53Speaker 9: good that they lost legacation, but.
- 23:55Speaker 1: They're still really good that between now and Thursday, how
- 23:59Speaker 1: many backets will you have filled out?
- 24:02Speaker 9: Oh? Just one more? I don't I'm a big bracket.
- 24:05Speaker 9: Last year I fold about one bracket. I was in
- 24:07Speaker 9: the ninety nine percentile going into being like a little
- 24:11Speaker 9: bit of a homer and ticket is or I had
- 24:13Speaker 9: three out of four and I had oly I think
- 24:15Speaker 9: two wrong one or two wrong. Wow, going into to
- 24:20Speaker 9: the final four. I had a good year. This year
- 24:24Speaker 9: is much more difficult. Yeah, I made my friends a
- 24:27Speaker 9: lot of money last year.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Make us a lot of money. Feel very well more difficult.
- 24:34Speaker 4: But is it crazy to think that Darren Peterson because
- 24:37Speaker 4: there's that thought that you know, he wasn't giving it
- 24:39Speaker 4: as all. Maybe in the regular season, like.
- 24:41Speaker 6: If he is all the way turned up that he
- 24:43Speaker 6: could absolutely just have a magical postseason here.
- 24:47Speaker 9: He could, but if you watched Big Felt Champion part
- 24:50Speaker 9: of it, you'd say that team would have a hard
- 24:52Speaker 9: time doing that. I mean the lack of enthusiasm and
- 24:56Speaker 9: energy and cognativity and joy. Really yeah, obviously you know,
- 25:01Speaker 9: the reporters can take that out of you. He's an
- 25:04Speaker 9: incredible talent, and you know, I like, I'm about wanting
- 25:07Speaker 9: to go and well, yeah, he's got to play to
- 25:09Speaker 9: a guy. I don't know what his body's going through.
- 25:11Speaker 9: He's an elite shot maker. He's an NBA shot maker.
- 25:14Speaker 9: He's a very good finish. He's a willing passer. But
- 25:18Speaker 9: I don't like his body language. You know some guys
- 25:20Speaker 9: and that's just me. I like emotional, you know, fired up, tough,
- 25:25Speaker 9: you know, good locker room, high energy guys. And he
- 25:28Speaker 9: doesn't say boom man, that doesn't talk.
- 25:32Speaker 1: Is there a team in this in this tournament, Seth,
- 25:35Speaker 1: that you feel like has no business being in the
- 25:37Speaker 1: NCAA tournament?
- 25:39Speaker 9: Well, you just ask me if I think Miami House
- 25:41Speaker 9: should be the tournaments digress.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Okay, they should be. Okay, Seth knows me. Well, would
- 25:48Speaker 1: you be surprised. If they would more than one game
- 25:50Speaker 1: in this tournament.
- 25:52Speaker 9: I'd be shocked, shocked, really shocked. I don't think there'll
- 25:56Speaker 9: be less to you. No, they won't get the guard there.
- 26:00Speaker 9: They might get hurt in the glass. Play with great space,
- 26:03Speaker 9: and you can really shoot the ball and are fun
- 26:05Speaker 9: to watch. And Suitors complete suit of play anywhere. And
- 26:09Speaker 9: Sal Jacks is a tough dude, that left hand on
- 26:11Speaker 9: the point guard and Myers they invert their offense. Wolf
- 26:14Speaker 9: it started at Rutgers. I thought he's gonna be a
- 26:16Speaker 9: good player at rut because you know, the Elmer kid
- 26:19Speaker 9: is a nice player. They're a nice team. But Acta
- 26:22Speaker 9: was the best team in that conference.
- 26:24Speaker 3: M h interesting. I'm big on Nebraska coming out of
- 26:27Speaker 3: the South.
- 26:29Speaker 4: He's got the team that's never what.
- 26:35Speaker 3: I mean. I like the yeah may Yeah, go ahead.
- 26:39Speaker 9: The Mayor is great and they're having a great year,
- 26:44Speaker 9: and they can invert their offense and they can shoot
- 26:47Speaker 9: the ball. And sam plays as hard as anyone you
- 26:51Speaker 9: and Frager is a really good freshman and sam Ford
- 26:54Speaker 9: is a big time shooter. And if you got them
- 26:58Speaker 9: Bolton final four, you're in the same category as Nick Crogen.
- 27:06Speaker 3: You said that beautiful Lisa.
- 27:10Speaker 5: Stay staying in the South region. A lot of people
- 27:13Speaker 5: are looking for upsets. I'm looking right now. I'm a
- 27:16Speaker 5: Carolina grad. I see Carolina's minus two and a half
- 27:19Speaker 5: against VCU is Carolina on upset alert.
- 27:22Speaker 9: Yeah, oh boy, Yeah, I think they are. I don't
- 27:25Speaker 9: know if it will happen. Something are telling Junior's team
- 27:28Speaker 9: is good. Nick Lewis is an explosive young freshman guard.
- 27:32Speaker 9: Darian Tracy's an athletic long plays really really hard. They
- 27:36Speaker 9: can shoot the ball, They come out in waves, play
- 27:40Speaker 9: really fast. It'd be interesting. I mean to me, that
- 27:45Speaker 9: could be a very very interesting game. They can match
- 27:48Speaker 9: the intensity of a Seth tremble. So yeah, I think
- 27:52Speaker 9: that that's one. If you want to take it like
- 27:54Speaker 9: a flyer, that's a that's a pretty very good one
- 27:57Speaker 9: to take a flyer on it that that.
- 27:59Speaker 6: Have you ever really picked, like nailed the super low
- 28:03Speaker 6: seeded team that made the run. Have you ever predicted
- 28:05Speaker 6: that like on the nose any of these years?
- 28:08Speaker 9: No, the one that made they on the run. DCU kn'
- 28:10Speaker 9: gonna have an answer to my tournament. So I'm with
- 28:12Speaker 9: those teams.
- 28:15Speaker 6: Yeah, Because I was trying to think I mean you
- 28:17Speaker 6: mentioned this year might be as difficult of any as
- 28:20Speaker 6: any to predict a double digit seed making any kind
- 28:23Speaker 6: of run, Right, Yeah.
- 28:25Speaker 9: I think like Utah State is at nine is an
- 28:28Speaker 9: interesting I don't think they can make a run in
- 28:29Speaker 9: that bracket, but they're you know, their metrics are really interesting.
- 28:33Speaker 9: They're hard to play against, a really physical Defensibly, they'll
- 28:36Speaker 9: play zwner play man. They got two kids. Mason's false
- 28:40Speaker 9: he goes right every time, but he goes right every time,
- 28:42Speaker 9: and he gets there. And Dad Collins can really it,
- 28:44Speaker 9: can really shoot it. They like that guy could be
- 28:47Speaker 9: Coach Calhoun could be the next which of Cincinnati people
- 28:49Speaker 9: are talking about. So I think they're third team that
- 28:53Speaker 9: could kind of make some noise. I think, you know,
- 28:56Speaker 9: Saint Louis is an interesting one to me because you
- 28:59Speaker 9: know one thing about that bracket. You know, like Texas uh,
- 29:04Speaker 9: Texas Tech is not a three seed because they don't
- 29:06Speaker 9: have Jak Tompin. So like that's why I think Michigan's
- 29:10Speaker 9: got the softest bracket and the softest region. Of course,
- 29:14Speaker 9: they three is not a three as good as Donovan
- 29:17Speaker 9: Outwell shoots the ball and as good as Christian Anderson
- 29:20Speaker 9: is Uh, and you know, other guys have stepped up,
- 29:24Speaker 9: but Petty stepped up a little bit undersized, They don't
- 29:28Speaker 9: they just don't have anyone up front taken a very
- 29:30Speaker 9: few people can do the things that JT. Tomp can do.
- 29:33Speaker 6: Yeah, so it sounds like a nine seed is probably
- 29:35Speaker 6: the lowest seed you'd be willing to, you know, maybe
- 29:37Speaker 6: take a chance on.
- 29:38Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, I think so. Like Akron is a flyer
- 29:43Speaker 9: in that game against Texas Tech a little bit, that's
- 29:46Speaker 9: like someone want to take a flyer. Acker's really good.
- 29:48Speaker 9: They're off furthered offensive. They play really fast, they shoot
- 29:53Speaker 9: thirty seven percent of shots from a three point line.
- 29:55Speaker 9: They're a good passing team, they're older, they got three
- 29:57Speaker 9: guys that have been there four years, sacriligious, I mean,
- 30:01Speaker 9: I mean, they're they're they're they're a good team. They're
- 30:04Speaker 9: a good team. And if Furman didn't play Yukon, I
- 30:07Speaker 9: would have said Furman as a fifteen would be worth
- 30:10Speaker 9: a shot. Uh. They got a Cooper of Bowers kids
- 30:14Speaker 9: shoot seventy from the from the fields, six eleven kids
- 30:18Speaker 9: only a junior, and then they've got a very good
- 30:20Speaker 9: Treshman Akins freshman about sixty three A little erratic, but
- 30:24Speaker 9: pretty good. I'll give you a double digit seed. You
- 30:27Speaker 9: might want to kind of mess around with top Florida
- 30:31Speaker 9: over Louisville.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Wow, you guys righting the stuff down. I am one.
- 30:39Speaker 9: That is a really good style of play. The really
- 30:43Speaker 9: good offensive rebounding team. Uh after guard the three a
- 30:46Speaker 9: little bit better, but incredibly athletic. I mean they fly
- 30:50Speaker 9: at down the floor. Brian Houstin has done a great
- 30:52Speaker 9: job there in a short period of time.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Seth. How about Purdue pretender or contender?
- 30:59Speaker 9: If they're physical defensively like they were against Michigan, they're
- 31:04Speaker 9: a contender it all. They got to be physical defensively.
- 31:07Speaker 9: And Lawyer can't be taken out of the game. Because
- 31:10Speaker 9: Law's taken out of a game. You know, they need those.
- 31:13Speaker 9: They don't have as many weapons offensively. I like Traycoff
- 31:16Speaker 9: and Ren, but if Lawyer's taken out of a game,
- 31:19Speaker 9: they puts so much pressure on Braden Smith to maybe
- 31:21Speaker 9: score a little bit more cluff and I think that's hard.
- 31:24Speaker 9: But when they're gardening and physical and that things in
- 31:27Speaker 9: the sixty eight to seventy two's, I think they're really dangerous.
- 31:32Speaker 1: You know, we're a South Florida Bayed show. How good
- 31:35Speaker 1: is the University of Miami.
- 31:38Speaker 9: Jay's done a great job. He's done a great job.
- 31:41Speaker 9: For the love of sunny Hurst right there. You know,
- 31:45Speaker 9: they're they defend their physical right out of the Jay
- 31:50Speaker 9: Loop is probably the best job of anyone going into
- 31:53Speaker 9: the portal and getting guys that will play together and
- 31:56Speaker 9: are connected. I mean, their roles are really clearly defined
- 32:00Speaker 9: and to Washington guards the ball, what makes open shots,
- 32:03Speaker 9: which is gives me her inside kind of match up problems.
- 32:07Speaker 9: You know, Henderson kids are really good defenders, kind of
- 32:10Speaker 9: like the domisar of of the Miaoming team. I love
- 32:14Speaker 9: Trey Donaldson. I love Trey Donison's leadership. They don't have
- 32:18Speaker 9: a great depth, but they have a nice team.
- 32:21Speaker 3: Seth.
- 32:21Speaker 1: It's always great to hear your voice. Great to catch up.
- 32:25Speaker 1: It's your time of year, my man, it is March.
- 32:27Speaker 1: I am so happy it's here.
- 32:30Speaker 9: It's a good time of the year. You know, a
- 32:31Speaker 9: cop have in March. Go to the beach.
- 32:36Speaker 3: I go to Augusta. You go to the beach. I
- 32:38Speaker 3: got to Augusta.
- 32:38Speaker 9: But I don't know, you're probably also flying on a
- 32:42Speaker 9: private jet, so I mean, you know, the two different worlds.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Will limited listen. I don't want to brag on will break,
- 32:47Speaker 3: but I do.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Somehow they're still delayed.
- 32:54Speaker 3: Well not today, I just today, Seth.
- 32:57Speaker 1: We look forward to watching your coverage on ESPN for
- 33:01Speaker 1: the next few weeks.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Here.
- 33:02Speaker 3: It's always a great event, great tournament, and you're awesome.
- 33:05Speaker 9: Thank you man, Thank you appreciating.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Godson Company
- 33:11Speaker 2: Live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific.
- 33:17Speaker 1: I walk in today. I have brackets in front of me.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I am excited March is here. But I also walked
- 33:24Speaker 1: in today and I felt like Israel Goodyerez has been
- 33:28Speaker 1: judging me since the second he saw me, because he
- 33:31Speaker 1: has never seen me the way he is seeing me
- 33:33Speaker 1: right now, which is fresh off an airplane with a
- 33:36Speaker 1: bag of McDonald's and a couple of double espressos from Starbucks.
- 33:40Speaker 1: I am Sports Radio.
- 33:41Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know about judgment.
- 33:44Speaker 6: I just honestly, this is how sort of the roller
- 33:47Speaker 6: coaster of thoughts went through my head today. I actually
- 33:50Speaker 6: wasn't expecting you to be here today, right right, So
- 33:52Speaker 6: when I pulled up and I parked, and then I
- 33:56Speaker 6: started walking and I saw you were parallel to me
- 34:00Speaker 6: in the parking lot.
- 34:01Speaker 4: I was like, wow, Stu goats is here?
- 34:03Speaker 3: What a great day.
- 34:04Speaker 4: I thought we were going to have to work remotely.
- 34:06Speaker 3: What's up, tailor? Stu?
- 34:08Speaker 5: Also, how is it possible every flight you get on
- 34:10Speaker 5: gets delayed?
- 34:11Speaker 1: Well, listen, I fly out of the Windy City, and
- 34:14Speaker 1: I don't know what to tell you, Like, it's still
- 34:15Speaker 1: bad weather in Chicago.
- 34:17Speaker 3: It was snowing, it was raining, it was icy.
- 34:20Speaker 9: You know.
- 34:20Speaker 1: They told me I was gonna be on the runway
- 34:22Speaker 1: they boarded the plane. They wanted to dboard the plane.
- 34:24Speaker 1: They said we'd be on the runway for two and
- 34:25Speaker 1: a half hours. It ended up being twenty five minutes.
- 34:28Speaker 1: I had some bad scrambled eggs. I don't feel well,
- 34:31Speaker 1: and so I decided to follow all that up with
- 34:34Speaker 1: a bag of McDonald's and two double espressos with two
- 34:37Speaker 1: splendids in each.
- 34:38Speaker 3: How about that, Well, let's not forget he also lies. Well,
- 34:41Speaker 3: I mean I'm not lying about the plane.
- 34:44Speaker 9: No.
- 34:44Speaker 6: I mean these days, I feel like if you get
- 34:46Speaker 6: through security, you'll be lucky. If you get through security,
- 34:49Speaker 6: you're lucky. And if you get an on time flight,
- 34:51Speaker 6: you're very lucky.
- 34:52Speaker 3: I was, I'm lucky to be here. I am, I
- 34:54Speaker 3: am lucky. Well, I'm the only flight that got out
- 34:57Speaker 3: of Chicago to South Florida. Tay, Yes alive.
- 35:00Speaker 4: There you go.
- 35:00Speaker 6: Yes, I am shocked to see, pleasantly surprised to see
- 35:04Speaker 6: Stu Gotts across the parking lite.
- 35:06Speaker 3: So you're not judging me, you would, you're surprised to
- 35:08Speaker 3: see me?
- 35:09Speaker 9: Not yet?
- 35:10Speaker 3: Okay, because I smell the closer I got. What's that, Taylor?
- 35:14Speaker 5: Let me just be the first say we're all lucky
- 35:15Speaker 5: to be here. Every day is a gift.
- 35:17Speaker 3: Here, put it on the pole. Are we all lucky
- 35:19Speaker 3: to be here?
- 35:23Speaker 4: Taylor's side, Taylor, Stu.
- 35:26Speaker 6: The closer I got to you, the more I wouldn't
- 35:30Speaker 6: say judgment started piling up.
- 35:32Speaker 4: But the more I was asking myself where you were
- 35:35Speaker 4: coming from?
- 35:36Speaker 6: Because you're wearing what I can only call airport pants,
- 35:41Speaker 6: maybe because they look super comfortable.
- 35:42Speaker 3: That's why.
- 35:43Speaker 1: That's why I feel like you're judging me. You're seeing
- 35:46Speaker 1: me in clothes that I don't normally wear. You're seeing
- 35:48Speaker 1: me in airport gear.
- 35:50Speaker 6: Well, from the waist up, it's just a black hoodie
- 35:51Speaker 6: and the hat is but the bottom half is definitely
- 35:54Speaker 6: comfort like travel pants. And I was like, okay, those
- 35:56Speaker 6: are super comfortable looking. And you're carrying the bag and
- 36:00Speaker 6: the two drinks as if you don't have hands. You
- 36:04Speaker 6: were just inside of your elbows pressing them against you, yes,
- 36:07Speaker 6: and had your phone in your hand.
- 36:09Speaker 4: It just looked messy hands. It looked sloppy.
- 36:11Speaker 3: The hands are for heaters. Go ahead, tailor.
- 36:13Speaker 5: Yeah, the only thing those pantsy is one A.
- 36:18Speaker 3: It was one E on United. It is a mount
- 36:23Speaker 3: Rushmore Monday.
- 36:25Speaker 8: Here.
- 36:25Speaker 1: I am excited about this. I have no idea why
- 36:28Speaker 1: we're doing it, but it is a mount Rushmore Monday.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Tailor. Explain yourself because this is your idea.
- 36:34Speaker 4: Go ahead, real quick tailor.
- 36:35Speaker 6: Just to wrap that up, he hasn't taken a single
- 36:38Speaker 6: bite of whatever is in that McDonald's bag, and it
- 36:41Speaker 6: just makes this whole studio smell like McDonald's, which I'm
- 36:43Speaker 6: not complaining about, right. I just happened to be a
- 36:45Speaker 6: little bit hungry, and all I can smell is this McDonald's,
- 36:49Speaker 6: and all I can see are those terrible half eaten
- 36:51Speaker 6: doughnuts in the breakroom over there.
- 36:53Speaker 3: You want to fry? I No, I don't actually that's
- 36:56Speaker 3: the problem. Okay, yeah, Taylor.
- 36:58Speaker 5: So yesterday in the World Baseball Classic, my biggest takeaway
- 37:02Speaker 5: watching that game is that Paul Schemes moved up into
- 37:06Speaker 5: start for your Life territory last night with what he
- 37:09Speaker 5: did against the Dominican Republic. Yeah, so that got me thinking,
- 37:12Speaker 5: how can we capitalize off this? And that's how I
- 37:15Speaker 5: thought of Mount Rushmore Mondays, and that's how I thought
- 37:18Speaker 5: of this image.
- 37:20Speaker 9: Thank you there.
- 37:22Speaker 2: Yeah, you the guy with the spreadsheet pretending to work more.
- 37:27Speaker 2: Do you find yourself needing up, picking up as you're
- 37:29Speaker 2: dragging in your cubicle start the week? Are you ready
- 37:34Speaker 2: to put the sports back in sports talk? Well, then
- 37:39Speaker 2: you're in luck because every Monday we climbed the mount,
- 37:43Speaker 2: we call the legends, and we argue about things.
- 37:48Speaker 9: The truth you can't handle.
- 37:50Speaker 2: The truth that absolutely do not matter and are completely subjective.
- 37:55Speaker 2: This is Mouth rush More Monday, Monday Monday.
- 38:00Speaker 4: That could not be good usage of Bob the Big Boys?
- 38:04Speaker 3: Is that it be with it? Bob? Yeah?
- 38:06Speaker 6: Yes, Bob the Big Boys has done so many bigger
- 38:08Speaker 6: things in his life.
- 38:10Speaker 3: Yes, we're wasting Bob's time.
- 38:12Speaker 4: He gets paid by the word I believe and this
- 38:14Speaker 4: is not worth it.
- 38:15Speaker 11: I love Bob on the show this week, So in honor,
- 38:19Speaker 11: in honor of that false scheme start, we'll do a
- 38:23Speaker 11: mount rushmore of pictures you'd want in a start for
- 38:26Speaker 11: your life.
- 38:27Speaker 5: It's gonna be Izzy, Mikey, Stuve, Gotts and myself drafting
- 38:30Speaker 5: a snake draft Dan Bayer' I've enlisted Dan Byer to
- 38:35Speaker 5: hear all these lists and then at the end he
- 38:38Speaker 5: is gonna pick who's the winner. The winner becomes a
- 38:41Speaker 5: defending champ going into next week.
- 38:42Speaker 1: All right, A couple of questions we have we can
- 38:44Speaker 1: observations coming up in the next segment. We have Seth
- 38:46Speaker 1: Greenberg coming up at four o'clock to discuss March, to
- 38:50Speaker 1: discuss the brackets. Is Dan Byer aware of this? Is
- 38:52Speaker 1: he hearing this for the first time?
- 38:53Speaker 3: Taylor? Did you talk to him about it before? Come on?
- 38:56Speaker 5: I checked in with Dan Byer.
- 38:57Speaker 3: I have accepted this duty. I'm sorry.
- 39:00Speaker 6: I have a couple of questions. Pitchers dead or alive,
- 39:03Speaker 6: doesn't matter, don't have to be playing. Second question was
- 39:08Speaker 6: the jackhammering and the imaging, because you're shaping the mountain
- 39:11Speaker 6: into these faces?
- 39:12Speaker 3: Is that what you use?
- 39:13Speaker 4: I didn't even thought about that using a jackhammer.
- 39:15Speaker 5: Now you're putting two and two together.
- 39:17Speaker 3: Yes, two plus two equals jackhammer.
- 39:21Speaker 4: All right, Now, what's the order of this draft?
- 39:23Speaker 5: So I randomized the draft order. That's shady, Ricardo saw
- 39:28Speaker 5: everything I do is a bull ship.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Here makes it more shady.
- 39:31Speaker 5: So picking first is going to be easy. Then Stew
- 39:35Speaker 5: then me, then Mikey, and then Mikey. It's gonna go
- 39:38Speaker 5: back around. So you're you're gonna get picked.
- 39:39Speaker 3: Wow, I got the five all right.
- 39:41Speaker 4: I just realized something terrible.
- 39:43Speaker 6: But I'm not happy about this because you might pick well, right,
- 39:47Speaker 6: but because my first pick was not what I thought.
- 39:50Speaker 4: I didn't realize this was starter.
- 39:52Speaker 3: For your life. Yes, start for your life. So it's
- 39:54Speaker 3: a starter.
- 39:54Speaker 4: So my first pick initially was not even going to
- 39:56Speaker 4: be a starter.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Right.
- 39:57Speaker 1: This is an honor of ball Skimes World Baseball, right,
- 40:00Speaker 1: big start last night, So start for your life.
- 40:03Speaker 3: The guy you would most want.
- 40:05Speaker 1: And I'm assuming, well, yes, you have to take your
- 40:07Speaker 1: number one guy here because you don't want someone else
- 40:11Speaker 1: to take it.
- 40:11Speaker 5: I did not know we were doing this.
- 40:14Speaker 1: As a draft, and that makes it problematic because I
- 40:17Speaker 1: need to come up with some more days.
- 40:18Speaker 5: But Israelis is here on the clock.
- 40:20Speaker 4: Okay, what does the clock say? How much time?
- 40:23Speaker 3: Oh?
- 40:23Speaker 5: It's a fast clock.
- 40:25Speaker 6: So I'm deciding between two guys, and frankly, I think
- 40:28Speaker 6: i'm gonna pick the guy that I'm gonna pick because
- 40:30Speaker 6: I don't personally like the other person whatsoever. And I
- 40:33Speaker 6: don't think he can be my Mount Rushmore. I don't
- 40:35Speaker 6: think I can jack hammer his face into my mountain.
- 40:38Speaker 6: So I'm gonna go with Madison Bumginger.
- 40:40Speaker 4: Okay, Wow, fantastic pick.
- 40:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I list.
- 40:46Speaker 5: I didn't think is he had that in his bag?
- 40:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I wouldn't know about that.
- 40:50Speaker 1: He was there Med Bumpret's illustrated exactly to the year
- 40:54Speaker 1: one year was he?
- 40:55Speaker 3: Okay, you're just I thought I was gonna steal him
- 40:57Speaker 3: in around two.
- 40:58Speaker 1: So I know the guy that is he he refuses
- 41:01Speaker 1: to uh jackhammer into his mouth rush We all know.
- 41:05Speaker 1: So I'll take him and the bloody sock and the
- 41:07Speaker 1: bad reputation and just a bad dude, Kurt Chilling.
- 41:10Speaker 3: I'll take them.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Yes, Kurt Chilling is my number one pick Mount Rushmore.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Of guys, I want pitching starting in a big game.
- 41:18Speaker 5: Okay, Wow, I didn't have Kurt chilling on my board.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Wow, okay, well it's my boy.
- 41:24Speaker 5: Yes, it's bad job, Nope, just uh, just taking a
- 41:28Speaker 5: stand on my Mount Rushmore. But pick three, I cannot
- 41:33Speaker 5: pass on this guy as a Yankee fan. I gotta
- 41:36Speaker 5: go Andy Pettitt.
- 41:37Speaker 3: Oh man, oh, come and scratch him off. Man, jeez,
- 41:39Speaker 3: I don't like this game at all.
- 41:41Speaker 4: That's a sneak draft.
- 41:43Speaker 5: Mike, He's got the next two pick.
- 41:44Speaker 3: You're okay, chilling steroids into your Mount Rushmore. Huh okay, good,
- 41:47Speaker 3: that's nice.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Absolutely no problem with the steroids.
- 41:51Speaker 8: I'm gonna go with Sandy Kofax, possibly one of the
- 41:55Speaker 8: best big game pictures ever. Zero point nine five e
- 42:00Speaker 8: r A Yeah, thirty seven postseason endings, okay, okay, all right,
- 42:04Speaker 8: and then I'm gonna go with I'm gonna take Josh
- 42:08Speaker 8: beckettna go way too high?
- 42:13Speaker 3: Yeah running sorry, three complete.
- 42:16Speaker 8: Game shutouts in the postseason, a one point seven three
- 42:20Speaker 8: e r A in the seven and three record.
- 42:22Speaker 3: Uh no, not a reach, all right, So Cofax and Becket,
- 42:25Speaker 3: it's a good start for Mikey.
- 42:26Speaker 5: That is where I was just gonna go to. Okay,
- 42:30Speaker 5: So I can't let Stu get this one two combination,
- 42:32Speaker 5: because I think this is where he's gonna go next,
- 42:36Speaker 5: Kirk Shillings running mate in that World Series for the Diamondbacks.
- 42:39Speaker 5: I'm gonna go with the big unit. Randy Johnson.
- 42:41Speaker 6: Wow, didn't he famously have some post season failures.
- 42:47Speaker 4: That maybe you don't want him pitching for your life?
- 42:50Speaker 4: Or am I thinking a.
- 42:51Speaker 3: Little Well, it's his uh, it's his Mount Rushmore. Let
- 42:53Speaker 3: him have a c I know, but it's the guy.
- 42:55Speaker 4: It's Mount Rushmore. But it's also start for your life.
- 42:57Speaker 4: This is a very so involved game.
- 43:00Speaker 5: In the World Series, Randy Johnson was three and oh
- 43:03Speaker 5: with a one point zero.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Four all right, all right, and not the guy I
- 43:08Speaker 1: was gonna take, because I'm gonna go John Smaltz here,
- 43:10Speaker 1: one of the best big game pitchers of all time
- 43:13Speaker 1: for the Braves as a starter, also as a reliever.
- 43:16Speaker 1: But we're not playing that game. We're just playing a
- 43:18Speaker 1: starting game. Start for my life, John Smoltz. He wouldn't
- 43:22Speaker 1: be on my Matt Rushmore if we were, if we.
- 43:24Speaker 3: Weren't drafting it.
- 43:25Speaker 1: But we are drafting it, and therefore John Smoltz is
- 43:28Speaker 1: the number two guy behind Kurt Schilling from.
- 43:30Speaker 4: Me, Okay, yeah, is it my turn again?
- 43:33Speaker 9: It is?
- 43:33Speaker 4: Yeah, and I got two picks now.
- 43:34Speaker 3: Yeah, you have to Wow, I'm so jealous.
- 43:37Speaker 4: Oh well, I love this.
- 43:38Speaker 6: I love when this happened. Sometimes I like to milk
- 43:40Speaker 6: it and take the time. Sometimes I like to go
- 43:42Speaker 6: bang bangs, proved to people that I'm prepared. I'm going
- 43:46Speaker 6: to start with Oral Hirscheiser. Wow, Oral Hirschheiser, absolute Dodger legend.
- 43:51Speaker 4: And then I've gotta go.
- 43:54Speaker 6: This one's a little tricky, right because it start for
- 43:55Speaker 6: your life, So i gotta go vibes more than just
- 43:58Speaker 6: postseason numbers. A man who called me his brother once,
- 44:03Speaker 6: his Dominican brother, Pedro Martinez.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Wow, it is Yeah.
- 44:10Speaker 8: Unless it's one hundred pitches, then you probably want to
- 44:12Speaker 8: get him out.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Across the names off my list, was it Don Larson,
- 44:16Speaker 1: who pitched a perfect game in the World Series?
- 44:18Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 44:19Speaker 9: I did.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna take that guy, the guy who pitched
- 44:22Speaker 1: a perfect game in the World Series.
- 44:24Speaker 3: I'll take Don Larson, who was an.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Average pitcher but in the World Series turned into one
- 44:29Speaker 1: of the all time greats.
- 44:30Speaker 3: I mean, that's what this game is all about. About.
- 44:32Speaker 5: That is Don Larson in the one moment Hall of Fame.
- 44:35Speaker 8: Yes, he was actually like a mediocre pitcher.
- 44:39Speaker 3: I pick outside of that.
- 44:40Speaker 8: Let's start for your life. I mean, Steve Martin, let's
- 44:41Speaker 8: start for your life. I get Taylor before you pick.
- 44:45Speaker 8: I think there's a guy you're thinking of, and I'm
- 44:47Speaker 8: telling you I'm gonna take.
- 44:49Speaker 3: Him if you don't, I am.
- 44:52Speaker 5: I have a trend here. I have two lefties in
- 44:55Speaker 5: my Mount Rushmore, a couple of lefties gotten it up.
- 44:57Speaker 5: I'm gonna stick with that trend and go with somebody
- 45:00Speaker 5: who helped the Cubs break the curse. And it was
- 45:03Speaker 5: also a great postseason pitcher for the Red Sox. John Lester,
- 45:07Speaker 5: that's a a great one.
- 45:09Speaker 3: It's a nice he seemed jealous.
- 45:10Speaker 6: No, he's on my list, but he's still below my
- 45:14Speaker 6: next pick. So yeah, it's a good pick. But it
- 45:16Speaker 6: was my backup pick.
- 45:20Speaker 1: By the way, Don Larson guys eighty one and ninety
- 45:22Speaker 1: one for his career, told you but in a big game,
- 45:26Speaker 1: I think, but in a big spot undefeated.
- 45:29Speaker 5: So Mikey, back to back picks here for you.
- 45:31Speaker 3: All right, my last two picks.
- 45:34Speaker 8: The first one I'm going to take waited thirteen years
- 45:37Speaker 8: to finally get in the postseason. And then when he did,
- 45:39Speaker 8: all he did was just throw a no hitter two
- 45:43Speaker 8: three seven era Roy Halladay.
- 45:45Speaker 3: Big game Roy.
- 45:46Speaker 5: Wow, that's a great pick, the late Roy home, late
- 45:50Speaker 5: Roy Halladay.
- 45:51Speaker 9: Yes.
- 45:52Speaker 8: And then, as Taylor knows, as a Yankee fan knows,
- 45:55Speaker 8: and as a White Sox fan would know, if you
- 45:58Speaker 8: had a big.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Game contra all that.
- 46:02Speaker 6: Levon Hernandez, you saw the big leg kick and the
- 46:06Speaker 6: slow curve ball coming.
- 46:08Speaker 5: Wow, I have a good day.
- 46:10Speaker 8: Give me El Duke.
- 46:11Speaker 4: Wow, really wow, for your life, Mikey, for your not
- 46:15Speaker 4: for a good time.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Listen.
- 46:16Speaker 1: I know l Duke can pitch nine innings, give you
- 46:19Speaker 1: a you know, nine shutout innings.
- 46:20Speaker 3: He can also throw four rings and give up twelve runs.
- 46:23Speaker 8: I mean, when it mattered, he was nine and three
- 46:26Speaker 8: two point five e r a, one hundred and seven
- 46:28Speaker 8: k's and one hundred and six innings. I'll take that.
- 46:30Speaker 6: If you give me the combo of Levon Hernandez and
- 46:33Speaker 6: Eric Greg behind the plate, I'm taking Levon Hernandez every time.
- 46:37Speaker 8: Greg behind the plate? Who was the who is Angel
- 46:39Speaker 8: Hernandez behind the plate?
- 46:41Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 46:41Speaker 6: No, Levon's famous uh fifteen strikeout game in the playoffs.
- 46:46Speaker 3: Eric Greig by the foot it was seventeen.
- 46:48Speaker 4: Maybe there was a too many.
- 46:49Speaker 8: Yeah, so there's some mom talking about the umpire. Yeah,
- 46:52Speaker 8: there's some monster names left. I'm gonna go with somebody
- 46:55Speaker 8: fairly new for my list schemes to complete my list. No,
- 46:59Speaker 8: I was considering schemes. I'm talking somebody from the Dodgers
- 47:03Speaker 8: World Series team Yoshi Nobu yea.
- 47:06Speaker 5: I'm Amoto who was four and oh with a one
- 47:10Speaker 5: point one three e r A wow in the World Series.
- 47:13Speaker 3: If you said I was going to walk in, he
- 47:16Speaker 3: never pick And now you've got too far. All right,
- 47:20Speaker 3: I'm up here. I'm gonna take man. This is tough.
- 47:23Speaker 1: I'm choosing between David Cone and David Wells. A couple
- 47:26Speaker 1: of David's gutting it up.
- 47:28Speaker 3: Cone did it hungover, pitched a no hitter. Uh oh,
- 47:32Speaker 3: that was Wells. Excuse me. We talked to him, talked
- 47:34Speaker 3: to him about it every summer in Lake Tahoe.
- 47:36Speaker 1: I don't think Cone's ever been hungover, but on the
- 47:39Speaker 1: Ballteler's David Cohen ever been hungover. I'm gonna take David
- 47:42Speaker 1: Wells here in a big spot, big game, I'll take Boomer.
- 47:45Speaker 1: He doesn't care if he's drunk or sober, He's still
- 47:47Speaker 1: gonna go out there and give you eight nine solid innings.
- 47:49Speaker 3: How about that?
- 47:50Speaker 5: Wow?
- 47:50Speaker 4: Okay, Yeah, is.
- 47:52Speaker 5: He who's mister irrelevant here?
- 47:53Speaker 4: He's not mister irrelevant. He is mister underrated. He has missed.
- 47:57Speaker 4: Somebody else should have gotten him before I did.
- 48:00Speaker 6: Because if I am fighting for my life and this
- 48:02Speaker 6: man is pitching, I know he will give it every
- 48:05Speaker 6: ounce of effort.
- 48:07Speaker 4: And probably come out on top. Justin Berlander, Wow.
- 48:10Speaker 5: Wow, I thought you were gonna go Max Schurzer there
- 48:13Speaker 5: we now, I know, you know what.
- 48:14Speaker 6: As I was saying it, I was like, you know,
- 48:15Speaker 6: crazy Eyes would be good, but you know sometimes he
- 48:18Speaker 6: just has a little bit of a loose inning here
- 48:20Speaker 6: or there. Yeah, I'm taking Justin. No one's taking Maddox
- 48:23Speaker 6: jees Yeah, going too soft. That was a little too soft.
- 48:26Speaker 5: I know.
- 48:26Speaker 3: He painted a losing record in the playoffs, yes, due,
- 48:29Speaker 3: I mean Ton Larson had a losing record for his career.
- 48:32Speaker 5: Nobody took Bob Gibson either.
- 48:34Speaker 3: Oh give me.
- 48:36Speaker 4: This game is definitely taking longer than we expected.
- 48:38Speaker 5: So so Dan Byer, I have the list here, Mike
- 48:41Speaker 5: y A has Sandy Kofex.
- 48:43Speaker 3: I've got the list. I've got the list.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Unlike us, he is a pro, and he is organized,
- 48:50Speaker 1: and he is writing stuff down, all right, did I guess?
- 48:53Speaker 3: Is he ranking him one through four? Is that what
- 48:54Speaker 3: he's doing?
- 48:55Speaker 7: There is a golden pitcher that I had in mind
- 48:57Speaker 7: that if someone would have taken the automatic, Lee would
- 49:00Speaker 7: have won this contest.
- 49:03Speaker 3: That picture was not taken. Wow, that picture was Jack Morris.
- 49:08Speaker 3: Oh that's a good one. Okay, it is.
- 49:09Speaker 7: So then I went to Plan B, who was immediately
- 49:13Speaker 7: eliminated by a pick, and I'm sorry. This guy was
- 49:16Speaker 7: a jerk to me in the locker room in the
- 49:18Speaker 7: two thousand and seven All Star Game after the home
- 49:21Speaker 7: run derby. His name was Justin Verlander. So is he
- 49:25Speaker 7: You are on your way? You are number four just
- 49:28Speaker 7: because of the Verlander pick.
- 49:29Speaker 4: Itself, Dias, I don't like it. I'm fighting for my
- 49:32Speaker 4: life here. I want jerks on love it.
- 49:35Speaker 3: You didn't want chilling.
- 49:38Speaker 4: It was too far.
