- 0:00Recruiting. I want to talk to my recruiters
- 0:04out there. I want to talk to my head of
- 0:06talents out there. Anyone that's done.
- 0:11Let's call it 100 plus interviews.
- 0:15First round, second round, third round.
- 0:18Developed the process. Built a system.
- 0:22Worked with hiring managers to refine and come up with an
- 0:26established job description, and so on and so forth.
- 0:28Manage the technology and the process.
- 0:31Everything it is. If you've done it, let's say 100
- 0:34+ *, I have a big question for you.
- 0:38How often have you taken a moment?
- 0:42Refined, analyzed. How you're approaching the
- 0:47conversations, the questions you're asking, how you're asking
- 0:51the questions, how inclusive the conversation feels and is the
- 0:56sentiment of the call. How much you're actually
- 1:00allowing them to talk and explain themselves and provide
- 1:02context versus how much you're providing information.
- 1:06How you're packaging the information, your tonality of
- 1:09your voice. How often are you as a recruiter
- 1:11generally asking yourself and reflecting on those variables?
- 1:17Not often. This is called what it is.
- 1:20It's not happening a lot and I'm a believer that in life
- 1:25generally, in relationships generally, in business,
- 1:30definitely you should at some moment throughout a calendar
- 1:34year, have a process, have a technology, have a methodology
- 1:38in place to check yourself, to analyze yourself and to get
- 1:43better, to get smarter, more refined and just make a better
- 1:48impact. And I think the recruiting
- 1:52process is one of the most delicate moments on both sides.
- 1:58It's delicate for the org and it's delicate for the applicant.
- 2:02So why not make that moment the most inclusive, the most
- 2:06comfortable, the most fair, the most equal experience there is
- 2:12for both? Why not make your life more
- 2:15pleasant, more humanistic as a as a leader, as a recruiter?
- 2:20And why not make and put a smile on someone's face?
- 2:23Because I'll tell you first hand, my wife has been going
- 2:26through some interview processes and there's been a few companies
- 2:30that have stood out that has, that have not hired her.
- 2:34And she's so openminded about still joining those companies
- 2:37and potentially being a boomerang applicant because of
- 2:43the experience. How they made her feel
- 2:46throughout that process, how they shared information, how
- 2:52they packaged information, how much they actually leaned into
- 2:55learning about her personal context and crafting that and
- 2:58baking that into the inevitable offer that she was received.
- 3:01Like companies that do that, even if they don't decide to go
- 3:05with you, you remember those moments.
- 3:08That's a big impact from an employer branding perspective.
- 3:12Want to talk about really sticky employer branding?
- 3:15There it is. Right.
- 3:19So I share this because I'm working on a ton right now and
- 3:26one of my most exciting and interesting things in the
- 3:30marketplace today is the ability to generally understand how you
- 3:39are having conversations as a as a recruiter, the vibes and the
- 3:43feelings that those applicants are feeling on the other side of
- 3:46that conversation and frankly just how you're making people
- 3:51feel at a humanistic people level.
- 3:55And I just want to see company get smarter and and I'm here to
- 3:59help and I'm here to support and I and I just want to highlight
- 4:02that. So take some time, recruiters be
- 4:08able to analyze your sentiment, your tonality, the package you
- 4:12got, your information, how much you genuinely care.
- 4:18Ask yourself that. Reflect, and let's get Better
- 4:23Together. As always, just a few thoughts.
- 4:27Definitely just a few perspectives.
- 4:29We'll talk to them.
