- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Swedish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode 77 — can you believe it? It's starting to feel like we're a real radio show. Lucas: We are a real show. Just a very small, very cozy one. And today I thought we could go somewhere peaceful. Luna: Oh, I could use peaceful. Where are we going? Lucas: Into the woods. A walk in the forest. In Swedish, 'en promenad i skogen'. Luna: En promenad i skogen. That sounds lovely. What's the first thing I'd say if I want to go? Lucas: You could say: Jag vill gå en promenad. That means 'I want to go for a walk'. Luna: Jag vill gå en promenad. Jag vill gå en promenad. Lucas: Yes. Vill is 'want', gå is 'go', en promenad is 'a walk'. Put it together. Luna: Jag vill gå en promenad. That's a good one to remember. So if I'm feeling restless, I can just say that? Lucas: Exactly. And then when you're actually in the forest, you might want to say: Skogen är vacker. 'The forest is beautiful.' Luna: Skogen är vacker. Skogen är vacker. Vacker — that's 'beautiful', right? Lucas: Right. And skogen is 'the forest'. So you're standing there, taking it all in, and you say: Skogen är vacker. Luna: I love that. I can picture it. Okay, what about sounds? I often hear birds when I walk. Lucas: Then you'd say: Jag hör en fågel. 'I hear a bird.' Hör is 'hear', en fågel is 'a bird'. Luna: Jag hör en fågel. Jag hör en fågel. That's a nice sentence. So I'm walking, I see the forest, I hear a bird... Lucas: And then maybe the path is longer than you expected. You could say: Stigen är lång. 'The path is long.' Stigen is 'the path'. Luna: Stigen är lång. Stigen är lång. Lucas: And if you need a break: Låt oss vila. 'Let's rest.' Låt oss is 'let's', vila is 'rest'. Luna: Låt oss vila. That's a good one. Låt oss vila. So I've got a whole mini story now. Lucas: You do. Let's try it together. Imagine you're in the forest. You say— Luna: Jag vill gå en promenad. Lucas: And then you arrive and say— Luna: Skogen är vacker. Lucas: Then you hear something— Luna: Jag hör en fågel. Lucas: The path keeps going— Luna: Stigen är lång. Lucas: And you decide to take a break— Luna: Låt oss vila. Lucas: Perfect. You just told a whole story in Swedish. Luna: I did! That feels really good. And I can actually imagine using these. Like, if I were hiking with a Swedish friend. Lucas: Yeah, that's the goal. You know, a lot of people ask how we keep this show going. It's just Fexingo and a small team. And if you've been learning with us and it's making a difference, supporting us on buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo genuinely helps keep these episodes coming. Even a couple of dollars a month makes a real impact. Luna: Yeah, it's true. We're not a big company, just people who love teaching. So if you can, that's awesome. And if not, keep listening — we're glad you're here. Lucas: Exactly. So back to the forest. Let's say you're on the walk and you want to invite someone to join you. How would you say 'Do you want to go for a walk?' Luna: Uhh... Vill du gå en promenad? Lucas: Yes! Vill du gå en promenad? That's exactly right. Luna: Vill du gå en promenad? Jag vill gå en promenad. Skogen är vacker. Jag hör en fågel. Stigen är lång. Låt oss vila. Lucas: You've got it. Let's do one more round, and this time I'll say the English, and you say the Swedish. Luna: Okay, I'm ready. Lucas: I want to go for a walk. Luna: Jag vill gå en promenad. Lucas: The forest is beautiful. Luna: Skogen är vacker. Lucas: I hear a bird. Luna: Jag hör en fågel. Lucas: The path is long. Luna: Stigen är lång. Lucas: Let's rest. Luna: Låt oss vila. Lucas: Perfect. Great job, Luna. Luna: Thanks! And now I actually want to go for a walk. Maybe I'll practice these in the park. Lucas: Do it. And listeners, practice these phrases till we meet again. Hej då for now. Luna: Hej då!
