- 2:26Speaker 1: So before we get into this episode, Beatrice, I have
- 2:29Speaker 1: to ask you if you had any takeaways.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I kind of enjoyed Robin and Christine going after Cody
- 2:37Speaker 2: in this episode. It felt to me kind of genuine.
- 2:40Speaker 2: It felt to me like Robin was actually getting annoyed
- 2:42Speaker 2: with Cody for once, and I kind of loved it.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Yeah, my takeaway is that Robin's annoyance was purely performative.
- 2:50Speaker 1: You think so, yes, and that she does this as
- 2:52Speaker 1: a tactic to sidle up to her other sister Wives
- 2:55Speaker 1: so she can give the impression that she's one of them.
- 2:58Speaker 2: That's dubious, But.
- 2:59Speaker 1: She's not one of them. She's the head, bitch and
- 3:02Speaker 1: charge and we all know it. So, without any further ado,
- 3:07Speaker 1: let's get into our recap of Sister Wives Season nine,
- 3:11Speaker 1: episode six.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Just trying to stay afloat okay in more ways than one, indeed,
- 3:18Speaker 2: So this episode really had two major things. Number one,
- 3:21Speaker 2: the Browns decided to enter some stupid booty ass cardboard
- 3:26Speaker 2: boat contest in some greasy lake in Las Vegas, and
- 3:33Speaker 2: they're gonna build these cardboard boats. The family's gonna split
- 3:36Speaker 2: up into two teams. They're realist, surius about it, really
- 3:40Speaker 2: competitive about it. And then the other thing of this
- 3:43Speaker 2: episode is surrounding Dayton, Aurora and Brianna's adoption legal bs.
- 3:51Speaker 2: So the beginning of the episode, we have the Browns
- 3:53Speaker 2: taking a literal class with a guy telling them how
- 3:57Speaker 2: to build a cardboard boat and how to make.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Sure it's engineered properly so it'll float. You got to
- 4:03Speaker 4: make sure you paint it so it seals up so
- 4:04Speaker 4: there's no leaks.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I'm like, this is cringe. You have Christine taking notes
- 4:09Speaker 2: about it. Oh, it's embarrassing. And then the adults say
- 4:13Speaker 2: that they're gonna split up into two teams. We're gonna
- 4:16Speaker 2: have Cody, Christine, and Robin on one team, and then
- 4:19Speaker 2: Janelle and all of the kids on another team. Mary meanwhile,
- 4:23Speaker 2: is too busy talking to her catfish.
- 4:25Speaker 1: And I know, I know because I'm always looking at
- 4:28Speaker 1: her body. Yeah, like where she is on the spectrum.
- 4:31Speaker 1: And so we've got the thinner Mary, We've got the
- 4:35Speaker 1: banana in the mouth Mary. I do want to say though,
- 4:38Speaker 1: that I think that it was very smart of Janelle
- 4:40Speaker 1: just to say, like, I don't want any part of
- 4:42Speaker 1: Cody and him building something. They certainly don't want a
- 4:46Speaker 1: part of that trio, because that would be me, or
- 4:49Speaker 1: actually Mary would be me. I was gonna say, you'd
- 4:51Speaker 1: be Harry to be like, I am not doing any
- 4:52Speaker 1: of that.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I have no interest in doing that.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Where's my glass?
- 4:55Speaker 2: Bye bye?
- 4:56Speaker 1: I'm on the sidelines.
- 4:58Speaker 2: I did kind of like that, and I I was
- 5:00Speaker 2: totally side eyeing Mary because Mary really is not in
- 5:03Speaker 2: this episode, like at all. She's there a little bit
- 5:05Speaker 2: when we talk about the adoption, but that's it. And
- 5:08Speaker 2: I'm like, you're totally talking to Sam on the HH.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Yes, she is in.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Your home alone. It's crazy. And so then we bought
- 5:17Speaker 2: back and forth between Cody, Christine and Robin building their
- 5:21Speaker 2: bum ass boat and then Janelle and the kids building
- 5:24Speaker 2: her boat. And really Janelle and the kids are kind
- 5:26Speaker 2: of whatever because the kids are like preteens. They're arguing
- 5:30Speaker 2: with each other. Janelle's arguing with Gabe mainly.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Gabe is being a little dictator. Well he's kind of cute,
- 5:36Speaker 1: it is, yeah, because he's like thirteen, he's a boy. Yeah,
- 5:39Speaker 1: he thinks he knows everything and he's kind of rolling
- 5:42Speaker 1: all over or steamrolling Gwen. And also little Savannah. Little
- 5:46Speaker 1: Savannah is adorable. She's like, you are bossy. You were
- 5:50Speaker 1: telling me to get snacks and you didn't see things. God,
- 5:53Speaker 1: she's so freaking she is. I can't.
- 5:55Speaker 2: She reminds me of my little sister at that age.
- 5:58Speaker 1: May non exist in overa for aching for a baby.
- 6:03Speaker 3: She's so cute.
- 6:04Speaker 2: And so, yeah, Janelle's just dealing with these preteens and
- 6:07Speaker 2: she's making this boat. Basically by herself with these kids.
- 6:10Speaker 2: And it's kind of funny because they named their boat
- 6:14Speaker 2: SS just enough to participate, which maybe, And it's the
- 6:19Speaker 2: ugliest looking boat painted white. It's not designed in like
- 6:23Speaker 2: any particular way.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Sorry, I know I'm telegraphing ahead.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Oh good. Meanwhile, we have Cody, Christine, and Robin arguing
- 6:34Speaker 2: literally stop nonst.
- 6:36Speaker 1: The entire episode.
- 6:38Speaker 2: It's really funny. So they're gonna make a Viking ship,
- 6:42Speaker 2: but they're gonna paint it purple and name it after
- 6:45Speaker 2: my sister wife's clause, which is the most ridiculous thing ever.
- 6:49Speaker 2: But like while they're building this boat, they're literally going
- 6:52Speaker 2: at it, and you have Robin, you know, making these
- 6:55Speaker 2: comments to Cody about how he's being annoying and he's
- 7:00Speaker 2: being mean and he's just being bossy, and I just
- 7:03Speaker 2: have to let him do what he wants to do
- 7:06Speaker 2: because he's just gonna call the shots. And Christine and
- 7:10Speaker 2: Robin have this little like buddy buddy camaraderie going on,
- 7:14Speaker 2: which I thought was kind of interesting. And if your
- 7:17Speaker 2: theory is right that Robin was doing this in a
- 7:19Speaker 2: performative way, I could see that.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I think Robin hates Christine Oh, I think Cody hates
- 7:24Speaker 1: Christine as well.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I think Cody for sure hates Christine, but I don't know.
- 7:28Speaker 2: My vibe in this was like, is this real? Like
- 7:31Speaker 2: does Robin actually get annoyed with Cody?
- 7:33Speaker 1: Probably, but I don't think this is an instance of
- 7:36Speaker 1: that personally.
- 7:37Speaker 2: And I was also thinking, like, if Robin does actually
- 7:40Speaker 2: get annoyed with Cody, he probably receives it a lot
- 7:43Speaker 2: better than he does with any of the other wives. Yes,
- 7:46Speaker 2: because he loves Robin and he doesn't really care, And
- 7:49Speaker 2: they probably get annoyed with each other in a flirtatious
- 7:51Speaker 2: way and then do sixty nine later.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Apparently that's their thing.
- 7:56Speaker 2: So at one point, when they're building this freaking dumb boat,
- 8:00Speaker 2: Cody says something like it's got to be sixty nine
- 8:02Speaker 2: inches or something.
- 8:03Speaker 1: He's yelling at Christine, yeah, and he's showing her like
- 8:06Speaker 1: some sort of paper diagram of what she's supposed to
- 8:09Speaker 1: be building, and he's like, look, it looks like a
- 8:11Speaker 1: sixty nine. Do you get it, dummy? And then you
- 8:15Speaker 1: look across at Robin at the words sixty nine. She
- 8:20Speaker 1: looks at Cody and she kind of smiles a little yeah,
- 8:22Speaker 1: And then he catches her gaze and he looks away
- 8:26Speaker 1: really fast, as if this is something that's special to them.
- 8:30Speaker 2: He probably got a little chubby going because she smiled
- 8:33Speaker 2: at him when you're talking about sixty night.
- 8:34Speaker 1: So that made me think of them sixty niney Ow,
- 8:37Speaker 1: that wasn't a really good image for me.
- 8:40Speaker 2: It made me think about them sixty ninety two because
- 8:42Speaker 2: I'm like, how does that work with a Mayan? Because
- 8:46Speaker 2: the man's not getting on top.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Isn't Now the man is on the bottom and you're
- 8:49Speaker 1: on the top, you know. I mean, I'm sure you've
- 8:52Speaker 1: sat on a face or two oh in your lesbian repertoire,
- 8:58Speaker 1: your lesbian history. You sit out face and you turn
- 9:01Speaker 1: around and you lie down on the man, and then
- 9:04Speaker 1: you do the thing you do with the sixty nine.
- 9:06Speaker 1: That's so, it's easy peasy. It's great.
- 9:08Speaker 2: You're so close to their butthole, you know what I mean,
- 9:11Speaker 2: like a man's butthole.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Well, what do you think is happening when you're you know, women.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Are you know, well what kind of cured and clean
- 9:18Speaker 2: and stuff. Then's got hairy buttholes and stuff.
- 9:20Speaker 1: That's true too, So I'm just saying, but there's pheromones,
- 9:23Speaker 1: and you like the pheromone.
- 9:26Speaker 4: I like that.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I don't know what to no.
- 9:27Speaker 1: I don't want a dirty butthole. I don't need a
- 9:30Speaker 1: guy who's like so dirty down there he's making dough
- 9:35Speaker 1: loaf is fermenting. Absolutely not. You want to clean the
- 9:39Speaker 1: pagenic man. But once you got a real man, that
- 9:42Speaker 1: dick right in my mouth. Girl, put that dick in
- 9:45Speaker 1: my mind.
- 9:46Speaker 2: I love it.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I'm all about it. I just adore it personally.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I support you and your lifestyle.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Choice, my heterosexicality.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Yeah. So anyway, Cody and Robin like to sixty nine,
- 10:00Speaker 2: and so do I.
- 10:02Speaker 3: So Delia, oh my god, already out of pocket.
- 10:08Speaker 2: And then Christine and Cody just keep going at it,
- 10:12Speaker 2: and like Christine's getting annoyed because Cody's being a bossy
- 10:15Speaker 2: ass bitch and he really is, like he wants to
- 10:17Speaker 2: do everything his way. He doesn't think that Christine or
- 10:21Speaker 2: Robin really have good ideas of how to build this
- 10:23Speaker 2: boat because they're women, and he's a miam right, and
- 10:27Speaker 2: he knows what will be structurally sound with this cardboard.
- 10:31Speaker 2: And like every little chance he can, he has to
- 10:34Speaker 2: argue about something, and you know, Christine keeps making comments
- 10:37Speaker 2: about how we just got to do it his way
- 10:39Speaker 2: and we just got to kind of shut up, and
- 10:40Speaker 2: you know, Cody's getting annoyed. And it's hot as fuck
- 10:43Speaker 2: outside too. They're building this out in the Las Vegas heat,
- 10:47Speaker 2: so everybody's cranky. Meanwhile, Janelle's with the kids and she's
- 10:50Speaker 2: just yelling at game constantly.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Why are you guys doing this? Nobody's actually having any fun.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Honestly, I was watching this whole episode and it reminded
- 10:59Speaker 2: me of of my own childhood because my parents used
- 11:02Speaker 2: to argue all the time, and I just I thought
- 11:05Speaker 2: it was funny because you're seeing like a real family
- 11:08Speaker 2: dynamic happen in real time, like even though it's edited
- 11:12Speaker 2: and everything, like this is how they are. And some
- 11:14Speaker 2: of the older kids are talking about how Cody and
- 11:17Speaker 2: Christine like always bicker all the time and that's just
- 11:20Speaker 2: how they are, and I'm like, damn, dude, this is crazy.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Well, so how are you and your wife when you
- 11:26Speaker 1: have to build something?
- 11:28Speaker 2: She builds it okay, and I hold the instructions and
- 11:32Speaker 2: I give her the nuts and bolts.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Are you the project manager? I'm the project.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Manaday because I get frustrated. I call it old man angry,
- 11:40Speaker 2: Like I get get takerous when I have to build
- 11:43Speaker 2: something and I like, fuck it up. I just get mad.
- 11:47Speaker 2: So we have this agreement that I'm like, anything needs
- 11:49Speaker 2: to be built, she does it because she does it
- 11:51Speaker 2: so calmly. She'll like plug in her podcast and she's
- 11:53Speaker 2: just chilling, and I'm just there for moral support.
- 11:56Speaker 1: That's interesting because like, you're the one who installed the garbage.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Just I can do something like this septic, yeah, cut
- 12:03Speaker 1: the tree branches down, yeah. But she's building an Ikea
- 12:07Speaker 1: bookcase exactly can't do it.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I'm the handyman. She's the Ikea lesbian. Okay, so she'll
- 12:13Speaker 2: build all the stuff, but I do all the nasty shit, and.
- 12:16Speaker 3: That's like fine by me. I'm like I'll do that.
- 12:18Speaker 4: I don't care.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Leave me alone, you know. But in this situation, like
- 12:22Speaker 2: with the cardboard boat, I probably would have been cranky too,
- 12:26Speaker 2: been hot, and I'm like, I don't want to fucking
- 12:27Speaker 2: build a cardboard boat that everybody has to sit in
- 12:31Speaker 2: and float across this nasty lake.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Absolutely not. It sounds like the worst day possible.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Terrible, And so everybody's arguing. Everybody is annoyed, and then
- 12:43Speaker 2: we change gears a little bit, and we go to
- 12:47Speaker 2: Robin and Cody's house at some point and we start
- 12:51Speaker 2: talking about the adoption, and I guess they got a
- 12:55Speaker 2: text from their lawyer, Sasha in Montana, who said that
- 12:58Speaker 2: Preston agreed to sign the adoption papers, and obviously Cody
- 13:04Speaker 2: and Robin are super happy about it. They were really
- 13:06Speaker 2: stressing about this adoption and stressinged about whether or not
- 13:10Speaker 2: Preston would do this, but he ultimately agrees to sign
- 13:14Speaker 2: his rights away, and now it's time for Cody and
- 13:19Speaker 2: Robin to tell the family. And so they start with
- 13:21Speaker 2: Mary first, because she made the sacrifice to give up
- 13:25Speaker 2: her legal marriage and it was her idea apparently, sure
- 13:29Speaker 2: to do this for Cody and Robin. So they bring
- 13:33Speaker 2: Mary over and she begrudgingly walks over because she was
- 13:36Speaker 2: in the middle of sexting.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Sands, so she had a banana in her mouth.
- 13:40Speaker 2: That's what I'm thinking. And they tell her Preston agreed
- 13:44Speaker 2: to sign, and Mary is like.
- 13:46Speaker 1: That's great, sounds good. Cool, I'll go back to my house,
- 13:49Speaker 1: though I kind of got something going on.
- 13:52Speaker 2: I was in the middle of using my batter operated boyfriend,
- 13:55Speaker 2: and I go, yeah, Mary seems not excited about it
- 14:00Speaker 2: at all. And so after they tell Mary, then they
- 14:04Speaker 2: call Janelle up because they were going to have her
- 14:06Speaker 2: come over, but Janelle's at the supermarket, and so they
- 14:08Speaker 2: tell her while she's at the supermarket. Janelle's like cool, great,
- 14:11Speaker 2: sounds good, awesome. Then they bring Christine over and Christine
- 14:15Speaker 2: is the only one with like an actual good reaction,
- 14:18Speaker 2: and she actually hugs Mary. No, she hugs Robin first, yes,
- 14:23Speaker 2: which was interesting. She's happy, she tears up. Then she
- 14:26Speaker 2: hugs Mary and says, hey, your divorce was worth it.
- 14:31Speaker 1: That's kind of funny. But in this moment, it felt
- 14:35Speaker 1: like to me that Christine was really being so congratulatory
- 14:40Speaker 1: to demonstrate to Cody that he can trust her. Remember,
- 14:44Speaker 1: because in last week's episode that was like the big
- 14:46Speaker 1: deal and it's the doorway to intimacy with Cody, and
- 14:49Speaker 1: so she wants to be as supportive as possible, especially
- 14:53Speaker 1: to Robin, because if she's not, then she ain't gonna
- 14:56Speaker 1: get to the OU. That makes sense. So yeah, she's
- 15:00Speaker 1: the only one who has like a big reaction.
- 15:02Speaker 2: That makes sense actually, And so after they tell the wives,
- 15:05Speaker 2: then they tell Aurora, Dayton and Brianna that their dad
- 15:10Speaker 2: gave them up, and Aurora bursts into tears.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Yes.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Meanwhile Brianna's just sitting there, blank stare on her face. Okay, great,
- 15:21Speaker 2: Dayton is quote baffled and surprised.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Yes, so let's not just gloss over these reactions. Yes,
- 15:30Speaker 1: So with Aurora, she proceeds to cry for the rest
- 15:33Speaker 1: of the episode, like for the entire day, not the
- 15:36Speaker 1: I mean, when they go to the little flotilla thing,
- 15:38Speaker 1: she's not crying, but like she cries all day. She's
- 15:41Speaker 1: sobbing mm hmm. And initially I thought, oh my gosh,
- 15:46Speaker 1: she's really happy. Good for her, you know, this is
- 15:49Speaker 1: means a lot to her. But then when she kept
- 15:52Speaker 1: crying and seemed so devastated, I was like, is this
- 15:57Speaker 1: about your father saying yeah to giving you up a
- 16:01Speaker 1: little bit too? Yeah? Or like the idea that maybe
- 16:05Speaker 1: you won't be seeing him. You already haven't seen him
- 16:07Speaker 1: for two years according to Robin, and so does this
- 16:10Speaker 1: maybe solidify in your child's heart like maybe I'm never
- 16:13Speaker 1: gonna say my dad again. And then you switch on
- 16:15Speaker 1: over to Dayton, who doesn't really have a filter about
- 16:19Speaker 1: what he's thinking. And he's like, yeah, I'm a little
- 16:21Speaker 1: bit confused. I'm a little bit baffled. I wish somebody
- 16:25Speaker 1: would have said, well, why Yeah. I think Robin said
- 16:28Speaker 1: something like but it's good, right, and Dayton says, yeah, no, no,
- 16:32Speaker 1: it's it's good. Yeah, But he's baffled. He's confused, And
- 16:34Speaker 1: I'm wondering if he's baffled, because like, why did my
- 16:37Speaker 1: dad give me up?
- 16:38Speaker 2: That's what I'm thinking.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Why did my dad sign away his rights? Why did
- 16:41Speaker 1: that happen? And there was no space in that moment
- 16:45Speaker 1: for a conversation, like for the kids that get it,
- 16:49Speaker 1: like what actually happened. I don't think Brianna got it.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Brianna's just a little baby, but I think those two
- 16:54Speaker 1: kids did totally.
- 16:55Speaker 2: I think they're old enough to understand. But they're like
- 16:57Speaker 2: at this age where they they're feeling a lot, but
- 17:01Speaker 2: they don't know how to articulate it or express any
- 17:04Speaker 2: of it because they're teenagers and like they're going through
- 17:06Speaker 2: a lot, and it's been a bit a big transition
- 17:09Speaker 2: for them in multiple ways. Like not only did they
- 17:12Speaker 2: have to make multiple moves in the last couple of years,
- 17:15Speaker 2: but then they had to go from their parents together,
- 17:18Speaker 2: then their mom is a single mom, then she's now
- 17:21Speaker 2: with Cody. Then they get married into this plural family,
- 17:24Speaker 2: then they moved to Vegas, and then their dad gives
- 17:26Speaker 2: them up. It's like it's a lot for these kids, Yes,
- 17:29Speaker 2: And I was actually thinking that with Aurora too. I
- 17:32Speaker 2: was thinking, the reason why she was crying so much
- 17:34Speaker 2: is because deep down she's sad. But I think Robin
- 17:39Speaker 2: tells her kids how to feel. Yes, And you can
- 17:42Speaker 2: tell when she's telling Dayton like, no, but it's a
- 17:45Speaker 2: good thing, you're happy, right, And Dayton's like, yeah, no,
- 17:47Speaker 2: I'm happy. And then Aurora every time she's crying in
- 17:50Speaker 2: the episode, is like, no, no, no, I'm just crying
- 17:52Speaker 2: because I'm happy because that's what Robin is telling her,
- 17:55Speaker 2: that that's what she's feeling. But deep down, I think
- 17:58Speaker 2: these kids are sad and I.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Would Yes, I do as well. I think that or
- 18:04Speaker 1: Or It seems like a very empathetic and feeling young lady.
- 18:08Speaker 1: She might not have the you know, maturity and intelligence
- 18:15Speaker 1: to understand the scope of what she's feeling, but there's
- 18:18Speaker 1: more that's going on there. And I felt like they
- 18:21Speaker 1: were kind of put on the spot because the cameras
- 18:23Speaker 1: are there, and they all know, and you can see
- 18:26Speaker 1: that Dayton knows exactly how Robin wants him to answer
- 18:29Speaker 1: and what Robin wants him to say on camera, and
- 18:32Speaker 1: so he does in this moment, I felt really sad
- 18:36Speaker 1: for all those kids, but particularly Dayton, because I think
- 18:38Speaker 1: Dayton feels a need to protect Robin. That's his mom,
- 18:42Speaker 1: and just as you said, there has been so much uncertainty,
- 18:46Speaker 1: and now his mom is getting everything that she wants.
- 18:49Speaker 1: She's got this lit house, she's got money, she's got
- 18:53Speaker 1: a man that obviously adores her. So I don't want
- 18:55Speaker 1: to fuck it up for my mom by loving and
- 18:58Speaker 1: missing my dad exactly, which is sad.
- 19:01Speaker 2: It's so sad, and it's a really hard place for
- 19:03Speaker 2: a kid to be put in. And when Robin tells
- 19:07Speaker 2: her kids this, she also tells them but you can
- 19:09Speaker 2: still call him and you can still see him, which
- 19:13Speaker 2: is really weird because after this, then they have a
- 19:17Speaker 2: phone call with Sasha, the lawyer, who is talking to
- 19:21Speaker 2: them and saying like, hey, when Preston was here signing
- 19:24Speaker 2: the papers, he had a lot of questions about if
- 19:28Speaker 2: he could see the kids still, if he could talk
- 19:30Speaker 2: to them, And I wasn't sure how to answer those questions,
- 19:33Speaker 2: So what do you guys want to do? And Robin
- 19:35Speaker 2: tells the lawyer, well, we're building up to that. So
- 19:39Speaker 2: she doesn't outright say he can still talk to them,
- 19:42Speaker 2: he can still visit. She tells the lawyer, we're building
- 19:45Speaker 2: up to that. So Robin is already telling two different
- 19:47Speaker 2: stories here. I think she's totally restricting access from the
- 19:53Speaker 2: kids in Preston. And then you have a little segment
- 19:56Speaker 2: with Aurora at one point where she's telling Janelle everybody
- 20:00Speaker 2: in the family was told that they're getting adopted. Aurora says, yeah,
- 20:05Speaker 2: I called Preston and made sure to thank him for
- 20:09Speaker 2: what he did, and he told me that it was
- 20:14Speaker 2: the right thing to do, even though it wasn't what
- 20:16Speaker 2: he wanted to do, but he loves them very much.
- 20:19Speaker 2: And the fact that Aurora called him Preston and she's
- 20:22Speaker 2: like already calling Cody dad, I'm just like this whole
- 20:25Speaker 2: thing is like orchestrated.
- 20:26Speaker 1: And then panned to Robin on the couch saying, yeah,
- 20:30Speaker 1: I heard the conversation. Yes, oh, as I was walking
- 20:34Speaker 1: into a different room when the kids were talking to Preston,
- 20:37Speaker 1: and it was really great. Hearing them all have this
- 20:40Speaker 1: discussion and them understanding what's happening. I'm like, okay, so
- 20:44Speaker 1: you're sitting by. What this means is you're sitting by
- 20:47Speaker 1: sitting right there, probably listening to absolutely everything that is
- 20:51Speaker 1: being said between your children and Preston.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Yep.
- 20:55Speaker 1: And that guy got royally screwed because, in my opinion,
- 21:00Speaker 1: they never intended for him to have continuing visitation. Of course,
- 21:04Speaker 1: I don't know whether he did. I don't know whether
- 21:07Speaker 1: there was any kind of a connection from this point on,
- 21:09Speaker 1: but I don't remember it. This is when I started watching.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I don't think so. So they just completely fucked him
- 21:16Speaker 1: because they knew that he was in a financially disadvantaged place.
- 21:21Speaker 2: And that was what I was thinking during this episode,
- 21:23Speaker 2: because we've been theorizing up until this point, like you know,
- 21:26Speaker 2: how is this benefit to Preston, and like how did
- 21:29Speaker 2: they manipulate him into giving up his parental rights money?
- 21:32Speaker 2: And it had to have been because I don't think
- 21:35Speaker 2: he wanted to do this. It sounded like his hand
- 21:37Speaker 2: was forced.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Well, the lawyer even said it took him a long
- 21:39Speaker 1: time to sign the papers.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yep.
- 21:42Speaker 1: So he was in that office, he did not want
- 21:44Speaker 1: to do it, yep.
- 21:45Speaker 2: But then he ultimately did, and then Robin makes her
- 21:48Speaker 2: kids call him and thank him for doing what he did,
- 21:51Speaker 2: because that's what it sounded like too. Like it wasn't
- 21:53Speaker 2: like Aurora wanted to call Preston. I feel like Robin
- 21:57Speaker 2: was like, you should call him and thank him and
- 22:00Speaker 2: then talk about it on camera so we could pretend
- 22:02Speaker 2: like we were doing the right thing, right and we're
- 22:05Speaker 2: good people. Yes, the whole situation just felt super icky.
- 22:08Speaker 2: And then when they ultimately announce it to the rest
- 22:11Speaker 2: of the family and all of the kids, like nobody
- 22:13Speaker 2: has a reaction to it, and Cody is a bit
- 22:16Speaker 2: disappointed by that, and he wants everybody to like cheer
- 22:19Speaker 2: and be happy, but you know, they kind of gloss
- 22:22Speaker 2: over it, saying like, well, maybe the kids just don't
- 22:25Speaker 2: think it's that big of a deal because you know, Dayton, Aurora,
- 22:28Speaker 2: Brianna are already part of the family, and like they
- 22:31Speaker 2: don't see it as a big a deal as the
- 22:33Speaker 2: adults do. But I'm like, I feel like the kids
- 22:35Speaker 2: pick up on m hmm, this is a weird situation.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Well, if you listen to Maddie these days, she's talking
- 22:42Speaker 1: about how they were all very sensitive at this point
- 22:45Speaker 1: and before probably since Lehi, when Robin entered the family,
- 22:50Speaker 1: the kids were noticing that things got disproportionate and he
- 22:55Speaker 1: began to favor Robin, but not just Robin her kids.
- 22:59Speaker 2: Yep.
- 22:59Speaker 1: So the reason also that they might not have been
- 23:02Speaker 1: jumping for joy is because they're like, Okay, great, you know,
- 23:05Speaker 1: now even more time with his favorite children.
- 23:09Speaker 2: That's probably what it is. I was just kind of
- 23:10Speaker 2: the vibe with it. Christine really was the only one
- 23:13Speaker 2: that was excited about it, and it is probably it's
- 23:17Speaker 2: probably because you're right, like she is trying to suck
- 23:19Speaker 2: up to Robins that way she can get Cody's view
- 23:21Speaker 2: or just like.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Have a relationship and the marriage with Cody totally with
- 23:25Speaker 1: some intimacy totally.
- 23:27Speaker 2: But you know, when they're building the boat, it doesn't seem.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Like absolutely not anything they learned in Galveston, which we
- 23:33Speaker 1: know they learned nothing like did not come with them
- 23:36Speaker 1: back to Vegas while they're building this boat. Oh, there's
- 23:39Speaker 1: no collaboration, there's no partnership, there's no.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Respect, not at all, and like on you know, both ends,
- 23:44Speaker 2: Like I can see Christine being too hot headed at
- 23:47Speaker 2: some points because she's an aries and she's wanting to
- 23:51Speaker 2: do things her way and whatever, and she's wanting to
- 23:53Speaker 2: be a little bit of a boss. But Cody is
- 23:55Speaker 2: just downright mean. At one point, Christine makes a comment
- 23:59Speaker 2: about how she's and yelled at for four days or whatever,
- 24:01Speaker 2: and Cody's like, no, you haven't you cry baby?
- 24:04Speaker 1: I know, and I'm like, oh my god. That's when
- 24:06Speaker 1: Robin steps in and says, hey, stop it, and he does,
- 24:10Speaker 1: but only because Robin told him.
- 24:12Speaker 2: To, Yeah, which is interesting to me. And I was wondering,
- 24:16Speaker 2: like if Robin was genuine with that comment, Like did
- 24:20Speaker 2: she not like that Cody was mean to these other wives?
- 24:23Speaker 2: I don't know, because obviously now we know Robin is
- 24:27Speaker 2: this evil puppet master. She's living in her two point
- 24:30Speaker 2: one million dollar mcmanch and she doesn't give a shit
- 24:32Speaker 2: that Cody doesn't talk to anybody. But I was just
- 24:34Speaker 2: like thinking back then, I'm like Robin, like, how can
- 24:37Speaker 2: you be okay being married to somebody who talks to
- 24:40Speaker 2: other people like that, who talk to the mother women, yeah, women,
- 24:44Speaker 2: and the mother of his child, his children, Like, I
- 24:46Speaker 2: don't know, It's just crazy. And I do think that
- 24:49Speaker 2: this is also the season where Robin gives Cody that
- 24:54Speaker 2: picture right of all of the kids.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Oh gosh, I don't know.
- 24:57Speaker 2: I think it's this season. I think it's after the option,
- 25:00Speaker 2: because I think that's gonna be in the next episode
- 25:02Speaker 2: or two, and she gives him that that photo.
- 25:05Speaker 1: It's a it's a drawing, right, the drawing based on
- 25:08Speaker 1: the photo of Cody and Christine and their family. So
- 25:12Speaker 1: she lifts the entire thing and just swaps in her
- 25:14Speaker 1: and her kids.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, I don't.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Know if it's happening this season, but I can't wait
- 25:19Speaker 1: to get to it.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I think it is because I'm recalling it now and
- 25:23Speaker 2: all of the events happening to this. But yeah, So
- 25:26Speaker 2: after they build the boats, they paint everything. I guess
- 25:30Speaker 2: Cody had a disagreement with Christine while she's painting up
- 25:34Speaker 2: the boat at the last minute about the paint that
- 25:37Speaker 2: she was using. She paints half of this fifteen foot.
- 25:39Speaker 1: Long painted the whole boat.
- 25:41Speaker 2: I thought it was half, No, the whole thing, and.
- 25:44Speaker 1: He's painted about it. Then he's like, I don't know
- 25:46Speaker 1: if that's the right paint. You couldn't have told me
- 25:48Speaker 1: that before I painted the whole damn boat. They even
- 25:51Speaker 1: had the blue stuff, yeah on it. They were already
- 25:53Speaker 1: decorating the boat.
- 25:54Speaker 2: I would have beat his ass.
- 25:56Speaker 1: Yeah, that felt kind of intentional, Actually.
- 25:58Speaker 2: Beat his ass. You're gonna make me pay this whole thing,
- 26:01Speaker 2: fifteen foot long fucking boat. It gets wild to me.
- 26:04Speaker 2: And so ultimately they get it all done, and then
- 26:06Speaker 2: Christine stupidly ordered a fifteen foot long U haul, thinking
- 26:11Speaker 2: that that would help fit their boat, and it didn't,
- 26:14Speaker 2: so they have to like jury rig this whole thing
- 26:16Speaker 2: to fit it in there to transport it to this
- 26:19Speaker 2: dingy lake that they're gonna be competing, right, meanwow, Janelle
- 26:24Speaker 2: has her bare minimum boat, right, and she's gonna have,
- 26:29Speaker 2: of course, a Hunter and Logan and Gabe and Gwen
- 26:35Speaker 2: row it. She's not gonna be in it way soever.
- 26:38Speaker 3: No, not at all, which is really funny.
- 26:40Speaker 2: So we're at the little competition and Janelle is starting
- 26:44Speaker 2: to feel that Taurus competitive spirit. She's like, I don't
- 26:47Speaker 2: want to win though, And they go first, and of
- 26:50Speaker 2: course they sail across the lake.
- 26:53Speaker 1: As Logan and Hunter are ballers, they're like boom boom, Yeah,
- 26:58Speaker 1: they're rowing for their lives.
- 27:00Speaker 2: Actually really loved that. I thought that was great and
- 27:02Speaker 2: I loved that third design was the bare minimum. It
- 27:04Speaker 2: made me laugh.
- 27:06Speaker 1: I loved it. That's something I would.
- 27:07Speaker 2: Do for sure, totally. I think it's great. And then
- 27:10Speaker 2: we get to Cody Christine's.
- 27:13Speaker 1: So funny.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Boat. This was so funny too.
- 27:18Speaker 3: So it's like all design.
- 27:19Speaker 2: They have all this horrible coloring on this boat. It's
- 27:23Speaker 2: big purple my sister wives closet. Well, you know, we
- 27:26Speaker 2: put our business logo on there, even though nobody's gonna
- 27:29Speaker 2: know what it is.
- 27:31Speaker 1: And nobody's ever gonna go to the website historically.
- 27:34Speaker 2: And it's a Viking boat that's painted purple, and so
- 27:38Speaker 2: they're gonna wear their Viking hats. And I don't know why,
- 27:42Speaker 2: but Cody has to be in it, and then Isabelle
- 27:45Speaker 2: and then one other Brianna I think was there, and
- 27:48Speaker 2: then Aurora and who else Dayton. Yeah, so there's five
- 27:53Speaker 2: people on this boat, most of them our kids, and
- 27:57Speaker 2: they go to they go to row it and they're
- 28:00Speaker 2: just rowing in a circle because Aurora it's fucking it
- 28:04Speaker 2: up in the front right, and they can't even get
- 28:07Speaker 2: across the fucking lake.
- 28:08Speaker 1: You know, it's pissing Cody off. You know that Cody
- 28:11Speaker 1: wanted to beat his boys, yep, and be faster than
- 28:14Speaker 1: his boys, and if his boys came in second, which
- 28:16Speaker 1: they did, he wants to come in first. But he's
- 28:18Speaker 1: just going in circles around this man made lake. It
- 28:21Speaker 1: is hilarious.
- 28:23Speaker 2: It's so funny, and they took so much time that
- 28:25Speaker 2: ultimately they failed. They had to wave the white flag
- 28:30Speaker 2: basically get disqualified from some reason.
- 28:32Speaker 3: Across the lake, which is really funny.
- 28:36Speaker 2: And so of course, Janelle's team gets second, Cody and
- 28:39Speaker 2: Robin's team and Christine's team didn't even place, but they
- 28:42Speaker 2: did get an award for most creative.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Because somebody had to give, like the Sister Wives from
- 28:49Speaker 1: the Sister Wives Show an award of.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Course, and you know, Cody and Christine and Robin they're
- 28:55Speaker 2: like laughing about it now as they're recounting it, but like,
- 28:58Speaker 2: you know, during the whole process, it was it was.
- 29:00Speaker 2: It was a terrible experience. And even Janelle was like,
- 29:03Speaker 2: I didn't really have fun buildings, Like why did we.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Even just wrangling her kids out in the heat? Who
- 29:09Speaker 1: would want to do that?
- 29:10Speaker 2: Totally and honestly, Janelle the whole time looked totally checked out.
- 29:14Speaker 2: To me. It was like Janelle's not used to having
- 29:16Speaker 2: all of these kids around, and she's getting annoyed.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Christine, where are you exact them take care of my kids?
- 29:21Speaker 3: Exactly?
- 29:22Speaker 1: Christine is wrangling Cody.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Exactly yes. And so then the episode ends with Cody
- 29:28Speaker 2: being like, you know.
- 29:29Speaker 4: We had this hurdle of the adoption process and you know,
- 29:32Speaker 4: getting pressed into send these PaperWorks and paperwork, and then
- 29:35Speaker 4: we also had this hurdle of building this cardboard boat.
- 29:38Speaker 4: And now the last hurdle is going to stand in
- 29:41Speaker 4: front of a judge to ask them if they'll let
- 29:43Speaker 4: me adopt my kids.
- 29:45Speaker 2: We're really worried about it, and shocker, it's going to
- 29:48Speaker 2: go off without a hitch. Not it's going to be
- 29:50Speaker 2: a total nothing burger. And so that's the way the
- 29:53Speaker 2: episode ends. Preview for next week we have Cody taking
- 29:58Speaker 2: Isabelle and some of the other younger girls on a
- 30:01Speaker 2: California beach trip because that's what isabel wanted for her birthday.
- 30:06Speaker 2: We have Robin making a comment about that, saying if
- 30:09Speaker 2: he doesn't connect with his girls at this age, they
- 30:12Speaker 2: are not gonna want to connect with him once they're
- 30:15Speaker 2: in high school and older, which is pretty poignant. Then
- 30:19Speaker 2: we have Maddie telling the parents that the LDS church
- 30:23Speaker 2: rejected her because her family is too public, and Robin says,
- 30:26Speaker 2: she's so sorry about that, And then we have Mary
- 30:31Speaker 2: looking like she's finally ready to agree to go to
- 30:33Speaker 2: therapy with Janelle four months later.
- 30:36Speaker 1: After four months, that's crazy. I'd be like, forget it, no,
- 30:40Speaker 1: straight up, you made me wait almost half a year.
- 30:43Speaker 2: That's so bitchy.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Sure, yeah, it is extremely bitchy.
- 30:46Speaker 2: That's so bitchy. And Janelle's worried about it too, because
- 30:49Speaker 2: it sounds like Mary's like, I gotta talk to you,
- 30:51Speaker 2: and Janelle's like, okay.
- 30:53Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know what you're gonna say.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Yes, all I remember, very hazily is that therapy is
- 31:01Speaker 1: not very productive. No, because Mary's got our walls up.
- 31:05Speaker 1: There's a lot of hurt feelings and those two women
- 31:08Speaker 1: cannot build a bridge and get over it.
- 31:11Speaker 2: And I think if I recall like when they started
- 31:13Speaker 2: going to therapy, it's probably when the catfish stuff started
- 31:19Speaker 2: ranking up, and so it probably gets overshadowed by the
- 31:22Speaker 2: fact that, yeah, Mary's catfish got got exposed. Yes, so
- 31:27Speaker 2: that'll be juicy.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I can't wait me too, Well, is there anything else
- 31:32Speaker 1: that we should say to these beautiful raccoons before we
- 31:34Speaker 1: get about at beautiful.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Well, if you love our podcast, please do us a
- 31:39Speaker 2: favor go to your favorite podcast platform.

- 31:44Speaker 2: really appreciate it, so thank you very much.
- 31:46Speaker 1: We will be back later this week to talk Welcome
- 31:50Speaker 1: to Plathfill. Make sure to come back for that because
- 31:53Speaker 1: it's kind of getting good, getting juicy. I think the
- 31:55Speaker 1: season's winding down and or finishing, but it's getting good.
- 31:58Speaker 1: We're having a big conversation. But until then, please do
- 32:02Speaker 1: not forget that we have nothing but love for you.
- 32:04Speaker 2: And pease a night.
- 32:08Speaker 3: I guess
