- 0:29Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30Today, we are talking about the rhythms of Nature and how we as
- 0:35human beings fit into that. And we respond to it.
- 0:39I think it's kind of interesting.
- 0:40We all understand Seasons, you know, spring summer, winter and
- 0:44fall. But we don't often think about
- 0:46our days that way. We'll think about our lives that
- 0:49way because we know there are certain chunks and ages of time
- 0:53that will say, oh well, you know, we're getting into that
- 0:56later season of life and we all understand it on some level, but
- 1:00I don't think. Ink.
- 1:00We actually sit down and figure out what it means to us and how
- 1:05we interpret it for ourselves, as well, as the daily practice
- 1:10of understanding it, why am I bringing this up?
- 1:13Because basically, we're halfway through the year and I have a
- 1:16lot of people that I work with that will say, to me, well, I'm
- 1:20really struggling sticking to my daily practice and I'm really
- 1:24struggling right now. I came out really strong.
- 1:27And now all of a sudden it's just I feel like I'm Getting to
- 1:31this place where I'm struggling to do all the little things.
- 1:33Every day that I know I should be doing and I want you all to
- 1:38know that is normal, that is completely and totally normal is
- 1:43part of being a human being that we will be cyclical will do
- 1:47things sometimes. Oh, so on the money and I'm not
- 1:51just talking about in general, I'm talking about like, you
- 1:54know, all aspects of our life like some days, we're just so
- 1:58great getting up doing our workouts.
- 2:00Doing our study work, whatever we're working on doing our
- 2:05mantras focusing on our goals. And then there are other days we
- 2:08get up and we're just like I don't want to do any of this
- 2:11crap, right? This minute, I don't want to do
- 2:13it all, and that is normal. So one first part of today, stop
- 2:18beating yourself up for feeling. That way, it's normal.
- 2:21Do you have to stay there? No, but you do have to actually
- 2:24look at what it means, because sometimes there are different
- 2:27meanings to this. And sometimes it just means that
- 2:30You have outgrown something you're doing and sometimes it
- 2:34doesn't mean that at all. Sometimes it just means you need
- 2:37a break most of the time. It means you just need a little
- 2:40bit of a break. We all need little breaks from
- 2:42things that we're doing and often we're not good at giving
- 2:45us ourselves that ability to just take that little break and
- 2:49say, you know what, it's okay for me to rest right now and
- 2:54organically halfway through the year.
- 2:57You start to head into the summer, you start to head into
- 3:00to the time where you've, you know, you've plowed the fields,
- 3:04you've planted the seeds, you have spent all that time working
- 3:10in the fields and then all of a sudden it's the time where the
- 3:13heat is on and it you don't want to go outside.
- 3:16So I live in a state where it gets hot and it gets really hot
- 3:21and when it gets blazing hot you don't want to go outside.
- 3:25And I grew up in a state in a state where it was constantly
- 3:29cold, I felt like it. Constantly cold, but in the
- 3:32winter you just don't, you don't even see people like they just
- 3:35go inside, they do puzzles, they play games, they don't come
- 3:39outside, they watch movies, they don't come outside because of
- 3:42the weather here that happens in the summer.
- 3:44And it's always funny to me to see how the weather affects us
- 3:49and how certain aspects of just collectively we move with
- 3:56nature. And this is one of those things
- 3:58that halfway through the year we are Actively moving with nature
- 4:02where right now. You just are in the heat of the
- 4:06summer typically, no matter where you are, you're In the
- 4:09Heat of the summer, you slow down a little bit, you just want
- 4:12to have a sweet tea and sit back and relax and you just want to
- 4:16take it easy and then we beat ourselves up for it and it's not
- 4:20healthy. At any point in time.
- 4:23You're going to hear me say this over and over and over.
- 4:25If you stick with me on this podcast, You cannot influence
- 4:29yourself through being mean to yourself.
- 4:31The theory of the beatings will continue until morale improves.
- 4:35Does not work long-term. It is absolutely detrimental to
- 4:41your well-being to your outcomes and who you are as an
- 4:44individual. It is incredibly important to
- 4:47not beat yourself up for wanting to take a break.
- 4:50That being said, it is incredibly important to
- 4:52distinguish how long you want that to be.
- 4:55And to actually set time and say, I'm going to take a break,
- 5:00I have a four-day weekend coming up, and I'm looking forward to
- 5:04my four-day weekend and on that four-day weekend.
- 5:07I will not be doing any of my normal things and it's okay
- 5:11because I will be back to them afterwards and I'm not just
- 5:13talking about going away because I'm not going anywhere.
- 5:16I'm just taking four days off and I think that's a big thing
- 5:22to remember in your life that when you try to power through
- 5:27endless amounts of time. Even in your day and you say,
- 5:31I'm going to do this for four hours.
- 5:33I will often get people say to me.
- 5:34Okay, I'm going to do all my calls for four hours straight
- 5:36and I'm like, no, you're not. I know you love to believe you
- 5:39are but you're not and for most people, it does not work.
- 5:43There are the very few people that can pull that off and they
- 5:46crammed in, they crammed in they crammed but they feel terrible
- 5:49on the other side they eat awful during it and when it's done
- 5:51they're exhausted and it screws up even more days.
- 5:54So it's not worth the the methodology to to go.
- 5:58Into, it's not worth anything. It's just it's silly.
- 6:01So stop if that's the strategy that you have look for the
- 6:05cycles and say, okay? What really works for me?
- 6:08Well, for most people, if you just do something for 30 minutes
- 6:12and then take a 10-minute break, it's it feels a hell of a lot
- 6:15better and you can get your mind to say.
- 6:17I can shut my phone off for 30 minutes or I can focus on this
- 6:21for 30 minutes and then I can go and that's part of the rhythms
- 6:25of being in nature just in general, its You have got to
- 6:29think more cyclical as far as your whole entire well-being.
- 6:34Not just, okay, I'm going to do this and I'm going to do this in
- 6:38power through it and power through it and power through it.
- 6:40I'm going to keep doing this. It never works, it never works.
- 6:43So if you are more thoughtful about it and you make more plan
- 6:48around it, you will be able to continue and still have
- 6:51astronomical outcomes. Trust me.
- 6:53I do this with myself all the time and I get very far strides
- 6:57but it's not by just Just powering through it and doing
- 6:59the same thing every single day for, you know, 12 months out of
- 7:03the year. It's just being thoughtful,
- 7:06creating a plan understanding that things are cyclical that
- 7:09you need a break, that you are part of Nature and that you can
- 7:13follow the rhythms of Nature and allow yourself to have that time
- 7:17that you need not just in a vacation but every single day.
- 7:21So look for that. Look at your at how you're
- 7:24performing in your day, see where your windows are and
- 7:27adjust that schedule And adjust those habits so that you can
- 7:30feel good about it. Alright guys, I will see you
- 7:32tomorrow. Bye.
