- 0:01Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots Unfiltered may not be
- 0:04Speaker 1: suitable for all audiences.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Listener discretion is advised.
- 0:08Speaker 3: The worlds of Vigeon podcasts.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:19Speaker 4: A lot of emails follow up from Thursday show, people
- 0:22Speaker 4: saying it maybe one of the best off season shows.
- 0:24Speaker 2: We've ever done.
- 0:25Speaker 5: I believe that people are saying that. I didn't even
- 0:28Speaker 5: really know what people are saying it. He's just upset
- 0:31Speaker 5: because he wasn't easy. That's okay.
- 0:33Speaker 6: So one of the chances PFW Paul listened to last
- 0:35Speaker 6: Thursday show had decided to stay in Italy.
- 0:38Speaker 7: I don't know, Paul.
- 0:38Speaker 6: Some people like Starwarms, some random you know, National NFL
- 0:44Speaker 6: has been tweets out that the Patriots are going to.
- 0:46Speaker 8: Have a fault this year, and you get your panties
- 0:48Speaker 8: in a bunch.
- 0:49Speaker 5: But he's always kept me in trouble. But I've been
- 0:52Speaker 5: down the rabbit hole of the Moon landing, and I question, I'm.
- 0:55Speaker 7: Skeptical people like you are that dangerous.
- 0:58Speaker 5: Traveling around the Moon. And they took the pictures of
- 1:01Speaker 5: them looking at Earth from space and everybody lost their minds.
- 1:04Speaker 5: You know, that doesn't it just doesn't move me. I
- 1:07Speaker 5: don't know. Okay, it's a picture of Earth.
- 1:09Speaker 7: You are a cold fish.
- 1:12Speaker 4: This is Patriots Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website for deals.
- 1:17Speaker 8: By a Toyota dot Com.
- 1:20Speaker 7: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:22Speaker 4: It is Thursday here at Jills Stadium, and today is
- 1:28Speaker 4: kind of like the first day where FIFA's taken over
- 1:32Speaker 4: our building, not fully yet Boston State West. We felt
- 1:37Speaker 4: it in the parking lots day too. Yeah. So over
- 1:42Speaker 4: the next few weeks this will become Boston Stadium and uh, getting.
- 1:47Speaker 7: Ready for the World Cup.
- 1:49Speaker 4: Kind of exciting if you're into the World Cup knowing
- 1:52Speaker 4: that you know, we're gonna have all these games played here,
- 1:54Speaker 4: which is pretty cool, but it's going to be disruptive
- 1:59Speaker 4: to our lives.
- 2:00Speaker 5: I'm not excited for that reason. Yeah, I'm a soccer
- 2:03Speaker 5: guy too, But.
- 2:04Speaker 8: Fred said it. You know, if you know, if you're
- 2:06Speaker 8: into soccer, it's the you know, their premier event in
- 2:10Speaker 8: the world's most popular sport.
- 2:12Speaker 7: Yeah, so that's going on right.
- 2:14Speaker 6: Yeah, not for me, but the way I recognize how
- 2:18Speaker 6: important for everybody.
- 2:20Speaker 9: Long walk from Lot seven. He's gonna hate soccer more
- 2:22Speaker 9: than he ever has now.
- 2:24Speaker 4: The good news is today, Okay, the good news for
- 2:26Speaker 4: the team is they got out of the building just
- 2:29Speaker 4: in time. So now they're in the new building down
- 2:32Speaker 4: down the road a little bit and they won't be
- 2:35Speaker 4: that affected by all of this. So they've got their
- 2:38Speaker 4: own little sanctuary apart from all the mayhem up here.
- 2:42Speaker 5: So one of the bonuses of doing that right that,
- 2:45Speaker 5: you know, the concerts and the revs games and now
- 2:49Speaker 5: the World Cup and they're right now they have their
- 2:52Speaker 5: own space.
- 2:52Speaker 7: That's right.
- 2:53Speaker 4: Uh So it's Evan, it's Paul, it's me, it's Alex.
- 2:56Speaker 4: It's Alex in the booth. The other Alex uh Do
- 3:00Speaker 4: is out doing some stuff. But we will carry on.
- 3:04Speaker 4: So what do we get to talk about today? What's
- 3:07Speaker 4: going on with the Patriots?
- 3:08Speaker 8: Waiting for the schedule release?
- 3:10Speaker 4: Schedule released tonight seven thirty. We know for sure that
- 3:15Speaker 4: the Patriots are going to Munich. They're going to play
- 3:17Speaker 4: the Lions. Are we excited?
- 3:19Speaker 5: We are?
- 3:19Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 3:19Speaker 9: Yeah, I think that's a very advantageous break for us
- 3:24Speaker 9: to not have to play in Detroit.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Yeah, indoors in Detroit where they were coming with Alex
- 3:28Speaker 4: their crowd.
- 3:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:30Speaker 5: From a football standpoint, yeah, i'd.
- 3:32Speaker 8: Say, and it's an easy game.
- 3:34Speaker 4: I just hope it's a better game than the last
- 3:36Speaker 4: time we were in Germany.
- 3:38Speaker 5: I'll never forget ten six.
- 3:40Speaker 7: What an awful trauma.
- 3:41Speaker 5: Yeah, that was that was the game?
- 3:44Speaker 4: Ever is that was that the final nail in Bill
- 3:46Speaker 4: Belichick's coffee?
- 3:47Speaker 5: Oh yeah, and Mac Jones's coffin too, both of them
- 3:51Speaker 5: up in flames at the same time. I think Tom
- 3:53Speaker 5: Kern's reporting came out like literally days after that game
- 3:57Speaker 5: that Bill was going to be out at the end
- 3:59Speaker 5: of the year.
- 4:00Speaker 7: Yeah, so that was.
- 4:01Speaker 4: That was a dark It was Robert Craft in that suite,
- 4:06Speaker 4: just with the big jacket and just his head went
- 4:08Speaker 4: down the big jacket. Was that after the bat Jones
- 4:12Speaker 4: interception when his head went down like that?
- 4:14Speaker 5: Imagine?
- 4:15Speaker 7: Yeah. Yeah, And then and then we went to London
- 4:19Speaker 7: the next year. We didn't do much better.
- 4:22Speaker 5: No, that game started better. I think they were fourteen to.
- 4:24Speaker 7: Nothing, that's right fast, ten to nothing.
- 4:27Speaker 8: It was ten.
- 4:27Speaker 6: But yeah, the Two school lead right out of the
- 4:29Speaker 6: shoot and then got completely dominated the last third three quarters.
- 4:32Speaker 5: Yeah, they looked good. I think they had an opening
- 4:35Speaker 5: drive touchdown for the first time all season. Drake made
- 4:37Speaker 5: drove him right down the field and we were like, oh,
- 4:40Speaker 5: who's this team? And then that was very prior.
- 4:42Speaker 4: To that, the Patriots had pretty good success overseas, so
- 4:44Speaker 4: we've got to get back to that. We've got the
- 4:47Speaker 4: winning better internationally, agreed, you know, especially in Germany.
- 4:51Speaker 5: Yeah, it's one of the you know we've been I've
- 4:54Speaker 5: been lucky enough to go to two of them now,
- 4:56Speaker 5: and it's the fans over there, like they deserve to
- 5:00Speaker 5: see a good game and to see the Patriots win
- 5:03Speaker 5: a game because they're the best. Honestly, even when the
- 5:06Speaker 5: team was four and thirteen, the excitement that the team
- 5:09Speaker 5: was there and that they were gonna be able to
- 5:11Speaker 5: watch the Patriots in person, you would have thought that
- 5:14Speaker 5: they were fourteen and three like last year. It was
- 5:17Speaker 5: really cool to We don't get that as much locally here,
- 5:22Speaker 5: Like when the team's not playing well here, it's the
- 5:24Speaker 5: total opposite, like that everybody's down in the dumps about it.
- 5:28Speaker 5: But over there, they couldn't care less about the fact
- 5:30Speaker 5: that they weren't winning. They just were excited to see
- 5:34Speaker 5: their team play.
- 5:35Speaker 9: Yeah, like two years ago, it was the best week
- 5:37Speaker 9: ever in Germany until the actual game. Yeah, yeah, but
- 5:41Speaker 9: everything other than that was such a great trip and
- 5:45Speaker 9: leaders are better yep.
- 5:47Speaker 4: All right, So but the rest of the schedule will
- 5:50Speaker 4: come out at seven point thirty, and social media teams
- 5:53Speaker 4: around the league are making last minute preparations for their
- 5:58Speaker 4: videos that they're gonna put. I know Patriots will have
- 6:02Speaker 4: multiple videos tonight. I can tell you that, little little teas.
- 6:08Speaker 5: I like that the league is letting teams go a little.
- 6:11Speaker 7: Early, right like an hour before the show.
- 6:14Speaker 5: Yeah, because the show, I mean, come on, like, yeah,
- 6:16Speaker 5: you know, this is about the social media teams and
- 6:19Speaker 5: the content teams reach.
- 6:20Speaker 4: I think the league realized that they weren't going to
- 6:23Speaker 4: that show to get the info. First, they were going
- 6:27Speaker 4: to your team's site to get that, and then you
- 6:30Speaker 4: go to the show for you know, the analysis, to
- 6:33Speaker 4: break down the more league wide talk, which makes sense,
- 6:36Speaker 4: so they get it. I think it makes sense. Give
- 6:38Speaker 4: the first half hour to the teams, let the fans
- 6:41Speaker 4: absorb it, you know, what is my team doing, and
- 6:44Speaker 4: then you go into the league talk at eight o'clock.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Yeah. One of my favorite parts too, is when you
- 6:49Speaker 5: get the downloadable one that goes to your calendar on
- 6:53Speaker 5: your phone. Then you just like you get the phone
- 6:55Speaker 5: and you get all lined.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Up it as your iPhone wallpaper.
- 6:59Speaker 5: I don't do the wallpaper, but we have a just
- 7:02Speaker 5: and I have a shared calendar that everything goes on,
- 7:05Speaker 5: and so like when it hits that calendar, it's like.
- 7:07Speaker 7: You put the magnet on your fridge.
- 7:10Speaker 5: I do. I used to. We haven't now that no office.
- 7:14Speaker 5: Now we've gotten digit count. But yeah, sure, when I
- 7:17Speaker 5: was a kid, we absolutely had the magnet on the
- 7:19Speaker 5: fridge my parents house.
- 7:22Speaker 7: Did you have.
- 7:24Speaker 4: For baseball the little pocket one with the red dot.
- 7:28Speaker 5: No, no, it wasn't. It wasn't about big on the
- 7:31Speaker 5: baseball schedule. But the football, the Patriots schedule was always right,
- 7:35Speaker 5: goes right up on the fridge for sure. Okay, get
- 7:37Speaker 5: that magnet, all right?
- 7:39Speaker 8: Because the show, the TV show, I assume is the
- 7:42Speaker 8: NFL network. Yeah, so I've lost that. I've lost the
- 7:45Speaker 8: NFL network.
- 7:46Speaker 6: When I was in Italy, I came back gone gone.
- 7:51Speaker 7: And the that's right.
- 7:54Speaker 4: Usually some sort with makes some lint and it's gone.
- 7:59Speaker 5: It's Absolutis it's gone.
- 8:02Speaker 8: That's going to need to be rectified by the seasons?
- 8:05Speaker 3: Is that going to be?
- 8:05Speaker 6: Is it really as between He's just you put on
- 8:10Speaker 6: the channel and it has like a message.
- 8:13Speaker 8: You know, it's no longer provided on this and.
- 8:16Speaker 7: You have Exfinity.
- 8:17Speaker 8: Yeah, I have something to do with the ESPN.
- 8:20Speaker 3: That's going to be your breaking point.
- 8:22Speaker 5: Cut the cord.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Cut.
- 8:23Speaker 8: I can't afford to cut the cord.
- 8:25Speaker 3: That's true.
- 8:26Speaker 8: It's ridiculous. I think they're going things and now I'm
- 8:29Speaker 8: hooked on all the stupid stuff, so I would need
- 8:31Speaker 8: to get you know.
- 8:32Speaker 7: I want to go back.
- 8:33Speaker 3: I do.
- 8:34Speaker 5: So we have Fubo, but how many streaming.
- 8:36Speaker 3: Services can you have?
- 8:38Speaker 4: Well, I'm like canceling one every month, like, oh my
- 8:42Speaker 4: show's done on Netflix.
- 8:43Speaker 3: All right, we're gonna pause that.
- 8:45Speaker 8: You're not going to save money.
- 8:46Speaker 7: But don't you still need to pay for Netflix?
- 8:49Speaker 2: Right?
- 8:49Speaker 6: And well you have the packages, but they're still it's
- 8:52Speaker 6: cutting the cord.
- 8:53Speaker 8: Used to be a cost saving measure.
- 8:55Speaker 9: It's no longer like similar to cable, Like you get
- 8:58Speaker 9: a bundle and it comes with the streaming services, like
- 9:01Speaker 9: it's not exactly cable, but it's some type of new Yeah.
- 9:04Speaker 8: Yeah, that's how I get Netflix.
- 9:06Speaker 5: Yeah right, cool.
- 9:07Speaker 6: I think we have Fubo, but Fubo lost uh oh
- 9:10Speaker 6: oh what have we got up here?
- 9:11Speaker 10: Oh?
- 9:12Speaker 8: You can't do that.
- 9:14Speaker 7: We're not talking about speculating.
- 9:15Speaker 8: On the sports on the sports Hub, they're speculating.
- 9:17Speaker 5: Yeah, we're not allowed to.
- 9:19Speaker 7: Okay, yeah, I can't speculate.
- 9:20Speaker 5: Uh. But they lost all NBC products, so there's no
- 9:24Speaker 5: NBC uh. And also Sunday Night Football is.
- 9:28Speaker 3: Gone unfortunately, so that was pretty good before that.
- 9:31Speaker 5: Yeah, and so now I had to pay for Peacock
- 9:34Speaker 5: the app, so that we can watch not only Saturday
- 9:37Speaker 5: Night football, but now there's games on NBC as well.
- 9:41Speaker 5: So I had to pay for like the premium Peacock
- 9:44Speaker 5: membership because it's not you can't just do the free one.
- 9:46Speaker 5: You have to actually pay for it, right, So now
- 9:49Speaker 5: I'm paying ten bucks a month for Peacock to get
- 9:52Speaker 5: NBC because it's freaking Fubo, like he's The disputes are
- 9:56Speaker 5: like ridiculous. You know, I think this is.
- 9:58Speaker 8: Like all part of an intentional plan.
- 10:02Speaker 7: By who all NADI or like what are we talking
- 10:06Speaker 7: about back.
- 10:07Speaker 8: To Tuesday show? No, with the the leagues and the
- 10:12Speaker 8: streaming services, and they're all sort of you know, it's
- 10:16Speaker 8: we're going to get more money from you, but we'll
- 10:18Speaker 8: work with you and you can sort of do these.
- 10:20Speaker 4: And well, I think the league loves it because it's new.
- 10:23Speaker 4: It's new people to get money from.
- 10:25Speaker 7: Not quite yet. But I don't think I think.
- 10:28Speaker 4: It's a plan. I don't think it's a plan. I
- 10:31Speaker 4: don't think they're in cahoots. They just think that these
- 10:33Speaker 4: media outlets like ESPN, Slash, Disney, NBC, they're trying to
- 10:38Speaker 4: they're trying to make more money, and they're launching these
- 10:42Speaker 4: over the top UH streaming services so they don't have
- 10:46Speaker 4: to pay the carriage fees and all, you know, to
- 10:48Speaker 4: the comcasts of the world.
- 10:50Speaker 6: So and they're paying all the money to the leagues
- 10:52Speaker 6: to broadcast the games. They have to get that money
- 10:54Speaker 6: from somewhere, right, and they're getting it from you, right.
- 10:57Speaker 5: I really feel strongly that this is needs to be
- 11:00Speaker 5: like Congress might actually need to get involved with the
- 11:03Speaker 5: way that all of this is going down. Between the
- 11:06Speaker 5: disputes with all these you know, the exfinities and the Fubo,
- 11:10Speaker 5: I think all the streaming, I.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Say, don't let we don't need the government to get
- 11:14Speaker 4: Let the market work it out.
- 11:16Speaker 7: It'll work it for itself out.
- 11:17Speaker 5: How is it going to work itself out?
- 11:19Speaker 4: Because people like it's are going to say I'm not
- 11:21Speaker 4: doing this anymore.
- 11:23Speaker 7: Yeah, but and they'll have to figure it out.
- 11:25Speaker 3: They they can't.
- 11:26Speaker 9: Like, what do you illegal streaming services? You take them down,
- 11:29Speaker 9: one pops up an hour later.
- 11:31Speaker 5: Well, I'm not worried about the legal streaming services.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Illegal ones. People are resorting to those.
- 11:36Speaker 5: They're going to feel that event because Fred's probably right,
- 11:39Speaker 5: the amount of money that we're all wasting on ten
- 11:42Speaker 5: different streaming services is it's gouging Americans.
- 11:47Speaker 2: It is.
- 11:50Speaker 7: That there's a little suffering we're going to do right now.
- 11:52Speaker 8: But they're gonna have to miss games.
- 11:54Speaker 5: Yeah, Like I'm more worried about the money than missing
- 11:56Speaker 5: the games. I'll find the games, but like.
- 11:59Speaker 8: So, but I won't.
- 12:00Speaker 6: And I think there's more people like me that won't,
- 12:03Speaker 6: that want to watch the games that won't be able
- 12:05Speaker 6: to do it. I don't, like, I don't have really
- 12:06Speaker 6: any interest in cheating everybody, Like that's not really something done.
- 12:11Speaker 8: No, I understand that.
- 12:12Speaker 6: But I know you guys can watch the games illegally
- 12:16Speaker 6: or whatever. I don't necessarily have an I don't want
- 12:18Speaker 6: you to.
- 12:19Speaker 9: I would rather just have it be nice and simple
- 12:21Speaker 9: and easy, like the days where it was just basic cables.
- 12:25Speaker 6: So It's not like I'm looking down on you, but
- 12:28Speaker 6: he's too young to know. You don't have any idea
- 12:32Speaker 6: how many times that happened when we were growing up.
- 12:36Speaker 7: Cable legal cable boxes.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Like you knocks on doors and.
- 12:43Speaker 7: You know what they do.
- 12:44Speaker 4: What they used to They used to offer free T shirts, uh,
- 12:51Speaker 4: the pay per view things, and then when you signed
- 12:54Speaker 4: up for one, you know it was illegal. And when
- 12:56Speaker 4: you sign up for one, they get your name and
- 12:57Speaker 4: then they come knocking and legal box.
- 13:02Speaker 9: I just think they don't need a box anymore. So
- 13:04Speaker 9: it's like they would have to trace it to your
- 13:06Speaker 9: IP address.
- 13:08Speaker 8: Now it's easier.
- 13:09Speaker 5: But what I'm doing to.
- 13:12Speaker 8: The point is you don't think that they can track
- 13:14Speaker 8: that they could track everything.
- 13:16Speaker 5: I'm sure they I'm not.
- 13:19Speaker 9: I don't know why he's so worried about the private citizen,
- 13:22Speaker 9: Like they're not dedicating resources to like find Paul Perlo's VPN.
- 13:26Speaker 5: And I think the bigger issue here is that is that,
- 13:29Speaker 5: like I think the the networks probably want to be
- 13:34Speaker 5: direct to consumer because there's no they don't have to
- 13:37Speaker 5: negotiate the money with anybody. So like if I pay
- 13:40Speaker 5: my ten dollars a month to Peacock to watch NBC
- 13:43Speaker 5: playoff you know Celtics playoff games. You know when that
- 13:46Speaker 5: was happening. You know that that has the Yeah, Sunday
- 13:49Speaker 5: Night football whatever, that's going right to NBC. There's no
- 13:53Speaker 5: Exfinity middleman or come you know, Verizon middleman. So, like
- 13:57Speaker 5: what's going to happen is is that all these places
- 13:59Speaker 5: are just driving consumers directly to their streaming platform. So
- 14:03Speaker 5: I'm gonna have to have Paramount, and I'm gonna have
- 14:06Speaker 5: to have Peacock, and I'm gonna have to have Disney
- 14:08Speaker 5: or ABC.
- 14:09Speaker 7: So here's I mean, here's like I don't know, but
- 14:12Speaker 7: here's something that could happen.
- 14:13Speaker 11: You know.
- 14:14Speaker 4: So for a while, Comcast was the king, right, you
- 14:18Speaker 4: had this box and everything went to the box and
- 14:21Speaker 4: you didn't have to worry about anything. And as we see,
- 14:24Speaker 4: you know, like Evan said, all these people start they
- 14:27Speaker 4: got tired of paying comcasts, so there they started their
- 14:30Speaker 4: own streaming services. What if another player comes in, somebody
- 14:34Speaker 4: with some deep pockets and says, we're gonna get another
- 14:37Speaker 4: box and we're going to accept all these streaming services
- 14:41Speaker 4: into our box. We're gonna make our money off the
- 14:44Speaker 4: people buying our box and paying a you know, a
- 14:48Speaker 4: nominal monthly subscription fee. But you NBC and ESPN, you
- 14:54Speaker 4: won't have to pay us carriage fees. We're gonna make
- 14:57Speaker 4: our money from the consumer who pays for the box
- 14:59Speaker 4: and the subscription and fee.
- 15:01Speaker 7: Maybe maybe what was old will be new again. Who
- 15:04Speaker 7: knows knows.
- 15:06Speaker 4: And by having this box, maybe maybe it won't be
- 15:09Speaker 4: a third party anymore. Maybe, like if you're in Paramount
- 15:12Speaker 4: Plus and you want to go to Hulu, you won't
- 15:15Speaker 4: have to like go in and out of apps anymore.
- 15:17Speaker 4: And that'll be the incentive for the consumer to have
- 15:20Speaker 4: the box, because it's so.
- 15:21Speaker 8: Much more interested in paying money for it.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Yeah, let me know if you.
- 15:25Speaker 8: Could do something like that.
- 15:26Speaker 3: Yes, when you raise your seed round, let me know.
- 15:29Speaker 5: Alex is over there on Stream East just you know,
- 15:33Speaker 5: so everything I'm not going to say everything streams keeps
- 15:36Speaker 5: getting taken.
- 15:37Speaker 3: They pop back up though it somewhere in Dubai.
- 15:40Speaker 5: It's great.
- 15:41Speaker 6: I love it for the old guy in the room
- 15:43Speaker 6: that just behind. It's just the bottom line is I
- 15:49Speaker 6: have to pay more than I ever have for less.
- 15:51Speaker 8: Oh yeah, it's for less. That's the whole world. It's
- 15:56Speaker 8: for for a less enjoyable product.
- 15:58Speaker 6: Like like I said, I don't watch a lot of
- 16:00Speaker 6: Thursday night games anymore that I normally would if they
- 16:03Speaker 6: were on regular TV, I would at least watch the
- 16:05Speaker 6: first half like I do on Monday nights.
- 16:07Speaker 5: A lot like that.
- 16:08Speaker 3: One doesn't bother almost the easiest one, even.
- 16:12Speaker 8: Everybody is ridiculously easy to access. I want to change channels,
- 16:16Speaker 8: and you can't.
- 16:18Speaker 5: He wants to flick like I know.
- 16:20Speaker 8: People laugh at me all the time. They're like, oh,
- 16:22Speaker 8: Paul can't get the We got.
- 16:23Speaker 5: To get you.
- 16:24Speaker 3: I have no problem I watch I watch for You
- 16:28Speaker 3: or something.
- 16:28Speaker 8: On Apple, Apple Plus and all that. I have no
- 16:30Speaker 8: problems navigating the various platforms you I want to watch
- 16:35Speaker 8: others watch commercial I want to. I want to watch
- 16:38Speaker 8: other stuff.
- 16:39Speaker 6: If there's like a Bruin's playoff game on and you know,
- 16:42Speaker 6: and something else, I want to watch both.
- 16:44Speaker 8: I don't want to have to choose. I used to
- 16:46Speaker 8: be able to do whatever I wanted. That's what I'm saying.
- 16:48Speaker 8: You have to pay more for less, and that's to
- 16:52Speaker 8: me undeniable. You pay more for less.
- 16:55Speaker 5: I just I didn't think the more and more things
- 16:58Speaker 5: that I have to pay for to just watch to
- 17:02Speaker 5: exist sports games mostly but like just just to pay,
- 17:06Speaker 5: you know. Like I said about the NBC thing like that,
- 17:09Speaker 5: that through a real wrench because not only is it
- 17:12Speaker 5: NBC actual NBC, but you can't get NBC Sports Boston
- 17:17Speaker 5: any either because that's part of NBC. So the local
- 17:21Speaker 5: Celtics broadcast we no longer had, so those were gone too,
- 17:25Speaker 5: So like then I had to like figure out a
- 17:27Speaker 5: way to get my hands on those games. Also, it's
- 17:30Speaker 5: just and they just do it just to take your
- 17:32Speaker 5: money like that, that's all they're doing. And I hope
- 17:34Speaker 5: you're right, Fred, But eventually hop Fred, but like how
- 17:37Speaker 5: long is that going to take it? We're gonna be
- 17:38Speaker 5: ten years later.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Finally, this is a long time in the making because
- 17:42Speaker 4: the consumer does all these companies that right now are
- 17:47Speaker 4: trying out these streaming services, it has to play out.
- 17:50Speaker 7: They have to see whether or not it's viable.
- 17:52Speaker 4: And eventually, I don't I think they're going to realize
- 17:54Speaker 4: I'm not making as much as I need to be
- 17:56Speaker 4: making here. We need to we need to get together
- 17:58Speaker 4: and figure something out, you know.
- 18:01Speaker 7: But it's it's crazy. Cable It's great, it was great,
- 18:04Speaker 7: but you know, the whole.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Cutting the cord thing. It's just too much work for me,
- 18:09Speaker 4: you know, to manage all these other things. And I'll
- 18:12Speaker 4: just pay the extra.
- 18:13Speaker 8: If it's too much work for you, I don't know
- 18:15Speaker 8: who wants to do it, because you that's your that's
- 18:17Speaker 8: your lane.
- 18:18Speaker 5: Well, I you know, I see I feel like cutting
- 18:21Speaker 5: the it's not the channel.
- 18:24Speaker 4: You managing all these subscriptions and and and still having
- 18:28Speaker 4: to sacrifice.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Yeah, but like, would you consider something like Fubo cutting
- 18:31Speaker 5: the cord because.
- 18:32Speaker 7: I don't have a box, like it's I think was
- 18:34Speaker 7: considered cutting the cord, but but it's.
- 18:36Speaker 5: It's a it's exactly the same as having cable, No.
- 18:39Speaker 7: It isn't. You don't get all the digital You don't
- 18:43Speaker 7: get all the local stuff.
- 18:44Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, I do. I get all the local stuff
- 18:47Speaker 5: I get. I can get all the movie channels, I
- 18:49Speaker 5: can record things.
- 18:50Speaker 7: I don't think.
- 18:51Speaker 4: I think there's a lot you don't get on Fubo
- 18:53Speaker 4: that maybe you don't care about, but other people do.
- 18:56Speaker 7: Like what I don't know, Like you get like Hallmark
- 18:59Speaker 7: and I mean.
- 19:02Speaker 8: My first thing off the top of your head, my.
- 19:05Speaker 7: Wife has a whole list of show.
- 19:08Speaker 5: And chel only the only time that we started to
- 19:11Speaker 5: get running into problems is with all these disputes, but
- 19:14Speaker 5: with places like NBC, Turner, you know, T n T.
- 19:17Speaker 5: But but like, well that's just recently with the dispute thing,
- 19:22Speaker 5: but that your infinity thing is having a dispute too.
- 19:25Speaker 5: Is that they're all doing a dispute.
- 19:26Speaker 8: Happens like during March madness. I had just lost all
- 19:29Speaker 8: the games.
- 19:29Speaker 3: I know you would think these r s ns would
- 19:32Speaker 3: want to be on. All these rs ns are.
- 19:35Speaker 5: Like we have reached has that nesson's on fubo, so
- 19:38Speaker 5: we get all the bruins in red.
- 19:40Speaker 7: Sox month if you don't mind, for well, I do
- 19:44Speaker 7: a little.
- 19:45Speaker 5: Thing on the side for them, right it was so
- 19:47Speaker 5: I get it for free, which is cool, but it's.
- 19:50Speaker 8: I think it's like I don't do a thing on
- 19:52Speaker 8: the side for what for.
- 19:58Speaker 12: You?
- 19:59Speaker 5: So I thought you guys knew about this.
- 20:01Speaker 7: No I do, no, No, I don't.
- 20:02Speaker 8: I don't care that you do it. But it's just
- 20:04Speaker 8: it's for the provement.
- 20:05Speaker 7: It's like, why can't I do it?
- 20:06Speaker 8: No, no, no, But it's for my point the gigs.
- 20:09Speaker 8: You can't do it for free, right, Like it's not
- 20:11Speaker 8: a cost saving measure.
- 20:13Speaker 5: And I want to say it. I want to say
- 20:16Speaker 5: it's like between eighty and one hundred dollars a month.
- 20:18Speaker 7: That's not bad. I want getting it, but I don't.
- 20:21Speaker 5: But that's not for everything. One of the perks of being,
- 20:24Speaker 5: you know, having the little side hustle that I do,
- 20:27Speaker 5: is that we get the full suite for free.
- 20:29Speaker 7: So how much would it be for everything?
- 20:31Speaker 5: I doubt I don't know.
- 20:32Speaker 9: Plan plans generally range from fourteen ninety nine to ninety
- 20:35Speaker 9: five ninety nine per month.
- 20:36Speaker 5: Yeah, so if you had everything, then I guess you're
- 20:39Speaker 5: probably looking at about one hundred bucks a month.
- 20:41Speaker 7: Well least if everything is every five man, that's a
- 20:44Speaker 7: good deal.
- 20:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 20:44Speaker 3: We get all the local channels, all the local.
- 20:47Speaker 5: News channels, you know four five seven as my parents
- 20:50Speaker 5: would call it. Right, we get nessen, we get you know,
- 20:54Speaker 5: all the movie channels. We have DVR, I can record things.
- 20:57Speaker 7: But you still have to pay for the streaming services,
- 20:59Speaker 7: right yes, yeah on top of that.
- 21:03Speaker 5: Yeah, like everybody else. Yeah, but this is Netflix. It's cable,
- 21:07Speaker 5: but like the streaming services, like you just press a
- 21:10Speaker 5: button and now how many do you get for that?
- 21:12Speaker 5: I actually can I watch it on two separate TVs
- 21:16Speaker 5: in our apartment. I watch it on all my devices,
- 21:19Speaker 5: Like when we're on the road, I watch I watch
- 21:21Speaker 5: Celtics games.
- 21:22Speaker 7: I know with YouTube TV it's limited to the amount
- 21:25Speaker 7: of TVs.
- 21:26Speaker 5: That one of the best parts about it is that
- 21:28Speaker 5: I can get it on my phone and I can
- 21:30Speaker 5: get it on my iPad.
- 21:31Speaker 7: That's good.
- 21:31Speaker 5: So like when we're traveling, I can I can watch
- 21:34Speaker 5: things using Fuboa on my iPad, which is great.
- 21:37Speaker 8: So it doesn't count Netflix.
- 21:39Speaker 5: No, it doesn't have Apple, No, it doesn't have any
- 21:43Speaker 5: of the streaming services.
- 21:44Speaker 6: So you're getting it's cable, but you're gonna get knock
- 21:47Speaker 6: on the door to the same money.
- 21:49Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Just I'm looking side hustle right now.
- 21:52Speaker 7: Are you doing your side hustle right now?
- 21:55Speaker 5: A little bit? I'm kind of flexing a little bit
- 21:57Speaker 5: of that.
- 21:58Speaker 8: The price pre or post side hustle.
- 22:01Speaker 5: Uh, post side hustle is free, which is honestly, it's
- 22:06Speaker 5: a good, good good Uh. It's honestly.
- 22:08Speaker 8: The best part of the side you can get is
- 22:09Speaker 8: that we get we all have side hustle. It's freaking
- 22:12Speaker 8: wrong with that.
- 22:12Speaker 5: Fren't I gotta find one. I guess you don't need
- 22:15Speaker 5: one more than most.
- 22:16Speaker 8: Who Are you kidding?
- 22:17Speaker 7: What do I have? You have everything?
- 22:19Speaker 5: He doesn't need one.
- 22:20Speaker 7: What do you mean everything?
- 22:22Speaker 8: The nut wizard once? Remember, Yeah, you get all kinds.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Of side hustles giving me a gift nothing. I'm thinking
- 22:29Speaker 4: of starting a YouTube channel for a friend to make
- 22:32Speaker 4: some money.
- 22:32Speaker 3: You should.
- 22:33Speaker 8: Yeah, you have one.
- 22:34Speaker 5: It's actually somebody old man in a house. Yeah, what's the.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Tell me more?
- 22:41Speaker 8: He's actually giving hus some thought out. I think we
- 22:44Speaker 8: need to.
- 22:45Speaker 7: It's kind of in the house that I live in.
- 22:47Speaker 4: It's kind of that's kind of the feature because you're
- 22:50Speaker 4: three hundred and thirty years old.
- 22:52Speaker 5: So is it really?
- 22:54Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 22:54Speaker 8: That's cool built it was no houses.
- 22:56Speaker 7: Built in sixteen ninety cool.
- 22:58Speaker 4: So you know, it's how the stuff that I do
- 23:01Speaker 4: in the house and all that stuff and then the
- 23:03Speaker 4: other things that I am interested in.
- 23:05Speaker 5: Does it have a dumb waiter?
- 23:07Speaker 12: Uh?
- 23:08Speaker 8: Good use of dumb waiter right there?
- 23:10Speaker 5: Some of some of those old houses, like no, anything
- 23:14Speaker 5: doesn't have a dumb waiter.
- 23:15Speaker 4: But it looks like a doorbell button by the fireplace.
- 23:21Speaker 4: And I guess that was to call the servants in
- 23:24Speaker 4: the back.
- 23:25Speaker 8: Oh, Fred has a house that there used to be servants.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Did they get that things colonial or something.
- 23:35Speaker 7: What do you mean colonial, like the style of your home. No,
- 23:37Speaker 7: it's it's before colonial sixteen ninety.
- 23:40Speaker 5: I guess you're about it, girl.
- 23:43Speaker 3: I got a brush up on my architecture now I
- 23:46Speaker 3: know that.
- 23:47Speaker 4: You know, things have been added on over the years,
- 23:50Speaker 4: Like the original house is very small, and then things
- 23:53Speaker 4: were added on aditions. But the original house that the
- 23:56Speaker 4: ceilings are like, you know, the big tinder beams going across.
- 24:03Speaker 4: I have three of the fireplaces aren't used, but there's
- 24:07Speaker 4: five working fireplaces.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Wow.
- 24:10Speaker 5: Yeah, you know one huge one.
- 24:12Speaker 4: That basically was the kitchen that has the big wrought
- 24:16Speaker 4: iron arm that comes over with the big pot and
- 24:19Speaker 4: the bread oven in the back and everything.
- 24:22Speaker 7: You know that's still there from over three hundred and
- 24:25Speaker 7: thirty years.
- 24:25Speaker 3: Wow. Do you know who used to live in your
- 24:26Speaker 3: house or who?
- 24:27Speaker 11: Go?
- 24:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I have the whole genealogy of the house. It
- 24:30Speaker 4: was the Nathan Toby, so it's called the Toby House.
- 24:34Speaker 4: It's registered you know, wow historically.
- 24:36Speaker 3: So do you have to like anything you do to
- 24:37Speaker 3: your house, you have to get approved.
- 24:38Speaker 4: Anything outside, for the most part that can be seen
- 24:42Speaker 4: from the road. I have to get approved when it
- 24:45Speaker 4: comes to HVAC though, I can do whatever I.
- 24:47Speaker 5: Want, Okay, you know, yeah, these uh these houses have.
- 24:51Speaker 5: Is this history like a little little controversial.
- 24:55Speaker 8: I hope we don't have to do.
- 24:56Speaker 7: I think everybody's back then was. But no, it's it's fine.
- 24:58Speaker 5: No, so was Toby.
- 25:01Speaker 7: So even as he paid the people at the house.
- 25:03Speaker 4: Being over three hundred and thirty years old, I'm only
- 25:06Speaker 4: the eighth family to own the house. So the Toby's
- 25:10Speaker 4: owned it for like the first two hundred years.
- 25:13Speaker 5: The Toby's are good people.
- 25:15Speaker 7: Yeah, and they seemed fine.
- 25:17Speaker 4: The legend has it or documents say that he built
- 25:20Speaker 4: this house for his son he lived down the road.
- 25:23Speaker 7: What did he do. I don't know what. They were
- 25:26Speaker 7: all like farmers back then, right or whatever.
- 25:28Speaker 3: I don't know what they did captains or something.
- 25:30Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, yeah, I don't think he was. I'm not
- 25:33Speaker 4: sure about that. I have to go back and look
- 25:35Speaker 4: at that. Nathan Toby, the Union delegate. Yeah yeah, cool, yeah, slip.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Fire Union does wow part of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
- 25:46Speaker 7: Oh yeah, Well, Sandwich is the oldest town on the cape,
- 25:51Speaker 7: is it.
- 25:51Speaker 9: Yeah, Like in terms of like when it was incorporated
- 25:55Speaker 9: settled town, the Pilgrims land in Provincetown.
- 25:58Speaker 7: Yeah, that's not the Cape a Promise. No, I thought
- 26:00Speaker 7: they did in Plymouth.
- 26:02Speaker 3: They didn't.
- 26:02Speaker 9: They landed in Provincetown first, and then they get the
- 26:05Speaker 9: hell out of They couldn't settle there because the land
- 26:07Speaker 9: was just not fertile at all.
- 26:09Speaker 3: It was all so it wasn't a town, but it
- 26:12Speaker 3: was a colony.
- 26:13Speaker 8: They have that.
- 26:13Speaker 3: That's why they have that giant Pilgrim monument in prom.
- 26:16Speaker 7: Yeah, that's right.
- 26:17Speaker 4: No, Sandwich is the oldest town in the Cape according
- 26:20Speaker 4: to everybody. So anyway, so so this the YouTube channel
- 26:26Speaker 4: will kind of you know, it would be based there,
- 26:28Speaker 4: and it would be the stuff about the house, but
- 26:30Speaker 4: also other things that I.
- 26:31Speaker 7: Do that people might be interested, like.
- 26:34Speaker 5: Fishing, fly fishing.
- 26:36Speaker 4: It could be all the numerous things I'm I have
- 26:39Speaker 4: interested in, plus commentary on appliances and oh.
- 26:43Speaker 5: Yeah maybe.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Easily.
- 26:46Speaker 5: Yeah, but they could be a sponsored speed Queen.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Could be, but then I wouldn't be able to speak freely.
- 26:53Speaker 4: So I when I would when I were videos and
- 26:57Speaker 4: when I do my reviews of stuff, I want to
- 26:59Speaker 4: be able to to be radio free, talk honest.
- 27:04Speaker 3: For you, like everyone knows it's authentic.
- 27:06Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, It's like, if I hype Jersey Mikes like
- 27:08Speaker 5: it wouldn't be disingenuous.
- 27:10Speaker 4: Well, but what if another new franchise came and genuinely
- 27:15Speaker 4: they were really good.
- 27:18Speaker 8: You wouldn't be able to say they were really good.
- 27:19Speaker 7: Not if I'm being sponsored by Jersey Mikes.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Well, I just gotta do single video sponsors, not the
- 27:24Speaker 3: whole channel.
- 27:25Speaker 8: Would you'd be able to speak freely about speed queen?
- 27:28Speaker 7: Now I can.
- 27:28Speaker 8: You're a straight shooter.
- 27:29Speaker 7: But but people want to know is this like and
- 27:32Speaker 7: it's ramping on YouTube?
- 27:34Speaker 4: You guys spend time on YouTube, right, I mean everyone
- 27:38Speaker 4: pretending that you can't.
- 27:39Speaker 7: You don't know. Yeah, you don't know.
- 27:41Speaker 5: You're literally on YouTube.
- 27:43Speaker 8: You don't know what, you don't know what we're talking TV.
- 27:48Speaker 4: It's so great, right, and then we find out he's
- 27:51Speaker 4: in cahoots and he's like you have to start.
- 27:53Speaker 5: We all know we're not.
- 27:56Speaker 7: Something.
- 27:57Speaker 5: But Lake Cruse hit me up, you know, like Bob's
- 27:59Speaker 5: discount for Yeah, so you I've been in the studio
- 28:02Speaker 5: for years.
- 28:03Speaker 8: I never got it hooked up.
- 28:04Speaker 12: I know.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Once you know, if you're going to give reviews, people
- 28:09Speaker 4: want to know whether you're on the up and up
- 28:11Speaker 4: or you're being paid to.
- 28:12Speaker 7: Get the review.
- 28:13Speaker 3: And people have like real influencer fatigue right now, like they.
- 28:16Speaker 4: Do oh like YouTube, you know, It's it's just crazy
- 28:20Speaker 4: that people with their handout on that on that platform.
- 28:23Speaker 7: I love it.
- 28:24Speaker 4: You know, it's easy to go down the rabbit hole,
- 28:25Speaker 4: but you have to be care careful about who you're believing,
- 28:30Speaker 4: you know, whether it's I G or YouTube or any
- 28:33Speaker 4: of them.
- 28:34Speaker 5: Well, there's also you know, I've been getting into like
- 28:37Speaker 5: the people that go to different restaurants and stuff, you know,
- 28:40Speaker 5: and they like post these videos. The restaurants pay them,
- 28:43Speaker 5: you know, and like half the exactly like half the
- 28:45Speaker 5: time they're getting paid or you know, getting free meals
- 28:48Speaker 5: or something like that to hype up the restaurant. And
- 28:50Speaker 5: I'm like, well I have I'm genuinely curious as to
- 28:54Speaker 5: what your five favorite Italian restaurants in Boston are. And
- 28:57Speaker 5: then when I find out that number one, just pay
- 29:00Speaker 5: you the most.
- 29:01Speaker 4: Well, like for a long time, Boston Magazine used to
- 29:05Speaker 4: like do the top list whatever, and when they first started,
- 29:10Speaker 4: it was completely independent, and now there's never any negative
- 29:15Speaker 4: stuff because they want everyone to take ads in the magazine.
- 29:19Speaker 7: And if you're going to screw me. I'm not paying
- 29:21Speaker 7: you to take an ad.
- 29:22Speaker 3: And like what publicists they're friends with the editor.
- 29:25Speaker 6: And right, so it's all crape, get a nice glowing review.
- 29:29Speaker 7: It's all crap.
- 29:30Speaker 2: You know.
- 29:31Speaker 4: That's why you know Consumer Reports is still subscription based
- 29:36Speaker 4: because they don't accept any money from or advertising from anyone.
- 29:40Speaker 4: So for them, you can now maybe there's money under
- 29:43Speaker 4: the table.
- 29:43Speaker 7: I'm not saying.
- 29:44Speaker 6: But it was always considered It might not be anymore,
- 29:46Speaker 6: but it was always considered the one place you could
- 29:49Speaker 6: go for an impartial review.
- 29:50Speaker 9: Right, but your old traditional food critics, like that's how
- 29:53Speaker 9: it always was. And now no one's really reading food
- 29:56Speaker 9: criticism in the newspaper anymore. It's just what influencer on
- 29:59Speaker 9: TikTok when a restaurant, and it's just all you can't
- 30:02Speaker 9: trust any of it.
- 30:03Speaker 5: You can't. There's quite a few of those. I won't
- 30:06Speaker 5: name names of restaurants, but you're getting like the influencer bump,
- 30:11Speaker 5: and then you go and you're like, this is this
- 30:13Speaker 5: is what everybody's going crazy about this place is right?
- 30:17Speaker 7: All right?
- 30:17Speaker 4: So lost to talk about influence. I don't know, do
- 30:21Speaker 4: we have any Patriots stuff? I mean we talked to,
- 30:23Speaker 4: you know.
- 30:24Speaker 5: Other than the leagues. We don't really have much to
- 30:26Speaker 5: talk about now. Yeah, that's that's what's. Uh, that's what today.
- 30:30Speaker 7: He's a pretty quiet down the street at the facility.
- 30:33Speaker 5: Yeah, so some media availabilities a lot of discussion, right, Yeah.
- 30:39Speaker 5: Last on Tuesday, Romeo Dobs and Kevin Byard both talked,
- 30:43Speaker 5: and Kevin Byard obviously got peppered with A J. Brown
- 30:46Speaker 5: questions as somebody who's played with A J. Brown in Tennessee,
- 30:49Speaker 5: and he insisted that he has not spoken to his
- 30:52Speaker 5: friend at all about any of it, which.
- 30:56Speaker 4: All right, Well, the phones are lit up as as
- 31:00Speaker 4: when we get on these topics, everybody has to chime in.
- 31:03Speaker 4: I'm not sure what people want to talk about, but
- 31:06Speaker 4: everyone wants to talk about something.
- 31:07Speaker 7: So let's get right to it. We'll go. We'll start
- 31:10Speaker 7: with Luke and Georgia. What's up? Luke? Hey, Hey, y'all
- 31:14Speaker 7: doing good?
- 31:16Speaker 12: So first time, long time. This may be a very
- 31:19Speaker 12: like non ball knower question because I am not a
- 31:22Speaker 12: huge ball knower, but I feel like the defense last
- 31:27Speaker 12: season kind of had three maybe not weaknesses, but three
- 31:31Speaker 12: things that they weren't really strong at. That was a
- 31:33Speaker 12: pressure off the edge, getting pressure of the quarterback, forcing turnovers, interceptions, fumbles,
- 31:39Speaker 12: that kind of stuff. And then the red zone where
- 31:41Speaker 12: we were decent at keeping people out of the red zone,
- 31:44Speaker 12: but once they got into the red zone. I don't
- 31:46Speaker 12: know what the exact stat is, but I feel like
- 31:48Speaker 12: we were kind of bottom of the league ish once
- 31:51Speaker 12: people got into the red zone against us, it was,
- 31:54Speaker 12: you know, we were kind of a you know, paper
- 31:55Speaker 12: towel trying to stop the freight trade. But I feel
- 31:59Speaker 12: like hopefully Harold Landry getting healthy and the addition of
- 32:03Speaker 12: Draymont Jones and Gabe Akis will help shore up the
- 32:06Speaker 12: pressure off the edge, and then the addition of Kevin
- 32:09Speaker 12: Byerd and hopefully him working with Craig Woodson, who I
- 32:12Speaker 12: think is going to be a staple of this defense
- 32:14Speaker 12: for a really long time, will help with the turnovers
- 32:17Speaker 12: and getting interceptions and that kind of stuff. Do you
- 32:20Speaker 12: guys know of any kind of under the radar moves
- 32:23Speaker 12: or just things that I'm not paying attention to that
- 32:26Speaker 12: the Patriots have done to help out with the red
- 32:28Speaker 12: zone defense and just shoring up once team's getting into
- 32:32Speaker 12: get into the red zone against us, holding him to
- 32:34Speaker 12: three or holding him to nothing at all versus where
- 32:37Speaker 12: they were kind of scoring with relative ease against US
- 32:41Speaker 12: last season.
- 32:42Speaker 7: All right, Yeah, I just want.
- 32:43Speaker 13: To say I love you guys.
- 32:44Speaker 11: Take it off the air, have a great day, thanks, Luke.
- 32:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 32:47Speaker 5: I think the interesting part about all those trends, and
- 32:49Speaker 5: he's definitely on point in the regular season, is all
- 32:52Speaker 5: those trends slipped on their head in the playoffs and
- 32:54Speaker 5: all of a sudden, they were great in all those
- 32:56Speaker 5: areas in the playoffs. Now, this Stroud game inflates the
- 32:59Speaker 5: turn overnumber. The defense was quite a bit, but they
- 33:03Speaker 5: were much much better in all those areas in the
- 33:06Speaker 5: in the playoffs. So it's kind of like which defense
- 33:09Speaker 5: was the real and then the offense at the opposite
- 33:11Speaker 5: where they were great all year and offensively, and then
- 33:14Speaker 5: then the playoffs they weren't as good.
- 33:15Speaker 4: You think, what's the effect of Zach Kerr having a
- 33:18Speaker 4: full offseason as the guy in charge.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Of the defense.
- 33:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I think. You know, red zone defense, especially red
- 33:24Speaker 5: zone pass defense, is a lot of communication and it's
- 33:27Speaker 5: a lot of you know, understanding because things happen so
- 33:29Speaker 5: quickly down there that one wrong assignment, one false step,
- 33:33Speaker 5: one you know, hesitation and the guys crossing the goal line.
- 33:38Speaker 7: With the ball.
- 33:39Speaker 5: So part of it is obviously effort want to in
- 33:42Speaker 5: terms of the run game on the line of scrimmage
- 33:44Speaker 5: and goal line and all that. But I would say
- 33:46Speaker 5: pass defense is a lot of communication and passing routes
- 33:50Speaker 5: off correctly and being on the same page. So maybe
- 33:53Speaker 5: having most of the guys in the same system for
- 33:57Speaker 5: the second year and not installing a new defense and
- 34:00Speaker 5: not running a new red zone defense, that maybe that
- 34:03Speaker 5: improves organically. They've talked a lot about wanting to turn
- 34:07Speaker 5: the ball over more, and you get the guy that
- 34:09Speaker 5: led the league in interceptions and free agency and buyered,
- 34:11Speaker 5: so hopefully that that helps. But that was probably the
- 34:14Speaker 5: one thing that they've continued to harp all season long
- 34:18Speaker 5: last year, at least during the regular season, is yeah,
- 34:21Speaker 5: like we're keeping the scoring down and that that's great,
- 34:24Speaker 5: but you know, we would love to make more of
- 34:26Speaker 5: an impact on the game by turning the ball over more.
- 34:29Speaker 5: So hopefully you know that can be.
- 34:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I just think overall, you know, Carlton Davis was
- 34:40Speaker 4: new last year. You know, it was a young a
- 34:43Speaker 4: new system to everybody, a new system everybody. The safeties
- 34:46Speaker 4: were playing together for the first time, so the should be.
- 34:51Speaker 8: Some continuity back there.
- 34:52Speaker 7: They didn't.
- 34:53Speaker 8: You know, they lost Chase on but they didn't lose
- 34:55Speaker 8: a lot of pieces on that side of the wall.
- 34:57Speaker 8: They should be And what is.
- 35:00Speaker 7: In the red zone?
- 35:00Speaker 4: You either get overpowered or there's a breakdown and communicating right.
- 35:05Speaker 5: Right, you know, those are the two main things for sure.
- 35:07Speaker 5: And I didn't really feel like their run defense was
- 35:10Speaker 5: getting overpowered. I thought it was more the past defense,
- 35:13Speaker 5: and a lot of that is based off of, you know,
- 35:17Speaker 5: assignments and leverages and like, if you you know this guy,
- 35:20Speaker 5: what are we doing on the goal line? If they
- 35:22Speaker 5: run a two man route combination? Are we passing it off?
- 35:25Speaker 5: Are we sticking with our men? Are we boxing it
- 35:28Speaker 5: a we banjoing it? Like there's all these different calls
- 35:30Speaker 5: that they can make, and that kind of stuff takes
- 35:33Speaker 5: time and takes communication and takes reps playing with one another.
- 35:37Speaker 5: So I saw that improve as the season war on,
- 35:39Speaker 5: and then the playoffs hit and they like flipped the
- 35:41Speaker 5: switch to another level. So hopefully the playoff defense is
- 35:44Speaker 5: the one that they get more of.
- 35:46Speaker 7: Okay, let's go to Anthony in Seattle. What's up, Anthony, Hey,
- 35:52Speaker 7: what's up?
- 35:53Speaker 14: What's up my people? How you guys doing Okay?
- 35:55Speaker 8: Anthony, I gotta.
- 35:57Speaker 13: Say, man, I love all season Cu and Aleien, this conspiracy,
- 36:04Speaker 13: this Callonoscope, this, I mean, it's the art Wars and
- 36:09Speaker 13: the you know, one of the most fun developments I've
- 36:12Speaker 13: noticed over the last handful of years is Evan. He's
- 36:16Speaker 13: like the last one. So it's like he stays on
- 36:18Speaker 13: football the longest and he fights it a little bit
- 36:21Speaker 13: and then but he always comes around. It's just eventually
- 36:24Speaker 13: there's gonna be a topic that comes up, and then
- 36:25Speaker 13: he's interested in that. I think last year it was
- 36:28Speaker 13: the office and Pam Beasley and then but once that
- 36:32Speaker 13: he's interested in, he just he just gives in and
- 36:34Speaker 13: then he's he's he's all in on the off season
- 36:36Speaker 13: stuff for the rest of the time. So I just
- 36:38Speaker 13: love I just love that that development. I wanted to
- 36:42Speaker 13: chime in on one thing and I'll get off the line.
- 36:44Speaker 13: So Herm had called in on Tuesday show and he
- 36:48Speaker 13: had asked the question of what what about A J.
- 36:51Speaker 4: Brown?
- 36:51Speaker 13: Why would he be happier in New England? You know,
- 36:54Speaker 13: with all the success he's had in Philly. You guys
- 36:56Speaker 13: brought up kind of you know some of the you know,
- 36:58Speaker 13: the offensive struggles and he's seems to be having issues
- 37:00Speaker 13: with the quarterback and all that. And I think those
- 37:02Speaker 13: that stuff is probably first and foremost because if he's
- 37:04Speaker 13: content with all that, then we're probably not having these discussions.
- 37:07Speaker 13: But one thing that I don't dismiss, and it just
- 37:10Speaker 13: sounds funny because it's such a weird thing, but A. J.
- 37:13Speaker 13: Brown is a Patriots fan. And it's it's so I've
- 37:16Speaker 13: never seen it where like an active player is so
- 37:19Speaker 13: open and they talk about like their team, like not
- 37:22Speaker 13: like I've heard guys say, oh, this is the team
- 37:24Speaker 13: I rooted for growing up. But he's like he doesn't
- 37:26Speaker 13: even height.
- 37:26Speaker 14: He's like, no, the Patriots.
- 37:27Speaker 13: Like you can clearly tell that, like when he retires,
- 37:30Speaker 13: he's going to go back to rooting for the Patriots.
- 37:32Speaker 13: He's that's just his team. So I think there is
- 37:34Speaker 13: a little bit of like, if you look at it,
- 37:36Speaker 13: he's got you know, Okay, I've had all this success,
- 37:39Speaker 13: I've made this money, I've made Pro Bowls, I've been
- 37:42Speaker 13: I won a Super Bowl and now I still got
- 37:44Speaker 13: a few years left in my prime. And like my coach,
- 37:47Speaker 13: who was you know, I'm sure he still he's Raybell
- 37:50Speaker 13: as his coach. He's over there back over with my
- 37:52Speaker 13: team and they're good again and they could use me,
- 37:54Speaker 13: and like, like I can have it all now, I
- 37:56Speaker 13: can go play for the Patriots, and like I think
- 37:59Speaker 13: I think that is a like a factor that I
- 38:02Speaker 13: think it's intriguing. But that's something I don't completely dismith.
- 38:05Speaker 13: I just didn't know what you guys think about it.
- 38:06Speaker 4: Thanks, No, it's it's it's good stuff. I mean, you
- 38:09Speaker 4: always want to have people who want to be here,
- 38:12Speaker 4: you know, and are vocal about it. So yeah, let's
- 38:17Speaker 4: go you and can't come fast enough.
- 38:19Speaker 5: I would just say that as he likes Drake May,
- 38:22Speaker 5: you know, I think there were concerns and I don't
- 38:25Speaker 5: want to throw shots at Mike when he's not here
- 38:26Speaker 5: to defend himself, but there were there were concerns about
- 38:29Speaker 5: this with Diggs, and at least in the locker room
- 38:32Speaker 5: and on the field. He was a good citizen, you know,
- 38:35Speaker 5: for the Patriots last year. So I think some of
- 38:39Speaker 5: that stuff when you change the sceneries and things like that.
- 38:42Speaker 6: Like that's why I said, as long as he likes
- 38:43Speaker 6: Drake May, I think the problem I have no idea
- 38:48Speaker 6: he's the problem to Philadel May with Brown?
- 38:53Speaker 8: Was I think that he had a rift with Sjalen
- 38:56Speaker 8: hurt I probably.
- 38:58Speaker 6: Quack and only he can be as big of a
- 39:01Speaker 6: Patriots fan as you can possibly find.
- 39:03Speaker 8: He could be a bigger Patriot fan than you.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Fred.
- 39:06Speaker 8: If he doesn't get along with the quarterback, he's going
- 39:08Speaker 8: to have similar issues.
- 39:11Speaker 6: Can actually throw this as long as he has a
- 39:13Speaker 6: good relationship with Drake May.
- 39:15Speaker 4: What do you think the odds of that are him
- 39:18Speaker 4: having a good relationship with Drake May better than average?
- 39:22Speaker 7: I'd say better than better than average, I'd say ninety percent.
- 39:25Speaker 8: How do you base that?
- 39:26Speaker 4: Because Drake May is not the kind of guy I
- 39:29Speaker 4: think that's exactly what I'm saying.
- 39:32Speaker 8: How do you base that?
- 39:33Speaker 7: They're different?
- 39:34Speaker 4: I know from what I know of Drake May and
- 39:36Speaker 4: what I know i've seen of Jalen Hurts, they're different guys.
- 39:40Speaker 7: Do you have any examples as to why everything that
- 39:43Speaker 7: happened in Philly?
- 39:44Speaker 15: But what like?
- 39:45Speaker 8: So, Yeah, that's what I'm asking for. What are some
- 39:48Speaker 8: of the things that happened in Philly that you don't
- 39:50Speaker 8: see happening?
- 39:51Speaker 7: I don't think that. I think that Drake May is
- 39:54Speaker 7: a much easier to guy to get along with.
- 39:57Speaker 8: I have no idea.
- 39:58Speaker 5: I just think he's a more complete asser. So like
- 40:01Speaker 5: the things that aj that's a tangible to me. I
- 40:06Speaker 5: don't know Jalen Hurts personally. I'm not going to pretend
- 40:08Speaker 5: to know Drake really personally.
- 40:10Speaker 7: That was my point.
- 40:10Speaker 5: But like in terms of the the way they play,
- 40:13Speaker 5: Like Drake May is a better quarterback than Jalen Hurts.
- 40:17Speaker 8: That's to me a changible fact. He's a better player
- 40:19Speaker 8: than Jalen Hurts, right, he.
- 40:20Speaker 9: Also just has a golden retriever personality. Like who hates
- 40:23Speaker 9: Drake May?
- 40:24Speaker 8: But I think that I have no idea what goes
- 40:26Speaker 8: on in that locker room.
- 40:27Speaker 5: Yeah, all these guys.
- 40:28Speaker 6: Though I have more access now than we ever have,
- 40:31Speaker 6: I don't have any idea what these guys are like
- 40:33Speaker 6: When they're not.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Talking to us, they spend a lot of time together.
- 40:37Speaker 5: They do they do, especially him and Will Campbell. Those
- 40:40Speaker 5: two guys are like, if.
- 40:41Speaker 6: You told me that Will Campbell and Drake May are
- 40:43Speaker 6: having a falling out someday, I'd say, I don't really
- 40:46Speaker 6: see that it could happen. Of course it could, but
- 40:48Speaker 6: I'm saying I've seen those two guys and they seem
- 40:51Speaker 6: really genuinely friendly. They're friends, like I'd be very surprised
- 40:56Speaker 6: if something were to happen.
- 40:57Speaker 8: I have no idea what A J. Brown's personality is
- 40:59Speaker 8: going to with Drake.
- 41:00Speaker 7: May Oh, it'll be fine.
- 41:01Speaker 4: I think the only plus he got Rabel in there,
- 41:04Speaker 4: who is the guy who sets the culture.
- 41:06Speaker 5: Don't you feel like though all these DIVA wide receivers,
- 41:09Speaker 5: the first year, yes, for the most part, goes well.
- 41:13Speaker 8: Blaming like A J. Brown.
- 41:15Speaker 6: I'm not even saying diva, I'm just saying, but usually
- 41:19Speaker 6: along with the people. That's what was the issue was
- 41:21Speaker 6: he didn't get along with some people. I'm not saying
- 41:22Speaker 6: it was his fault, I know not.
- 41:24Speaker 5: But but now he's five years into being in Philadelphia
- 41:27Speaker 5: with these guys. But usually that first year is there
- 41:31Speaker 5: and not honeymoon.
- 41:32Speaker 8: To your point, he didn't have any problems his first year.
- 41:35Speaker 16: Right, and then all these guys that they start to
- 41:38Speaker 16: get this Prilla Brown at odds with may there we
- 41:42Speaker 16: go already already not even here yet.
- 41:46Speaker 6: I just I have a hard time giving opinions on
- 41:49Speaker 6: things I have no idea about. Oh, I'm not anything
- 41:52Speaker 6: I'm not telling.
- 41:53Speaker 7: You I've never done it. We're giving opinions.
- 41:56Speaker 8: Above it.
- 41:58Speaker 7: Yeah, I think it'll be fine, at least initially.
- 42:02Speaker 6: And if and if it's fine, then all those things
- 42:04Speaker 6: will matter. The fact that he's a Patriots fan won't,
- 42:07Speaker 6: is my point.
- 42:10Speaker 5: I think there's a lot of guys I think that
- 42:12Speaker 5: will don't matter for like the first year, Like they
- 42:16Speaker 5: He'll be excited to be here and it's my favorite
- 42:19Speaker 5: team and it's my childhood team, YadA, YadA, YadA, and
- 42:22Speaker 5: then like you know, Moss digs towards the end of
- 42:26Speaker 5: the season. Last year is a big part of it,
- 42:30Speaker 5: and these guys have a shelf life, but it's usually
- 42:32Speaker 5: not that first year.
- 42:34Speaker 7: Nate's in Connecticut. What's up, Nate? Yeah, we can Nate,
- 42:40Speaker 7: all right.
- 42:41Speaker 11: I'll keep things notching short for you guys.
- 42:43Speaker 10: But I recently heard that it's been reported that we
- 42:46Speaker 10: are going to go against the Seahawks for our Week
- 42:49Speaker 10: one game. Whether this is true or not, I don't know,
- 42:52Speaker 10: but if it is, I think this is a great
- 42:54Speaker 10: way to start a season, going against super Bowl team.
- 42:57Speaker 12: They did lose.
- 42:58Speaker 10: A lot of guys last year, and you know, we
- 43:01Speaker 10: did gain a lot of people this year with the
- 43:03Speaker 10: draft and free agency, and hopefully we'll get aj Brown
- 43:07Speaker 10: post June first. But I think going into the game
- 43:10Speaker 10: beating Seahawks, can't get a better season opener than that.
- 43:14Speaker 10: And then second off, ten things off, Bill Belichick said
- 43:19Speaker 10: that they should rename the Ben Lombardi Trophy after Tom Brady.
- 43:24Speaker 13: I just want your thoughts on that.
- 43:25Speaker 10: Do you think it's that deserving or do you think
- 43:28Speaker 10: that you know, just say how it is?
- 43:30Speaker 4: All right? Think you guys?
- 43:31Speaker 7: Yeah, thanks Nate. Now two good things.
- 43:33Speaker 4: I mean, we're not here to give rumors and stuff,
- 43:37Speaker 4: but I have heard that rumor too that the Patriots
- 43:39Speaker 4: might start the season against the Sea I like his thinking, like,
- 43:43Speaker 4: why not go against the best right off the bat?
- 43:45Speaker 4: See where you are kind of get that measuring stick.
- 43:48Speaker 4: You know, maybe you play well, maybe you played you don't,
- 43:52Speaker 4: but at least it gives you some type of indication
- 43:54Speaker 4: of what you need to do.
- 43:56Speaker 5: I don't mind it at all.
- 43:57Speaker 8: I don't need that's the case. I think it's best
- 43:59Speaker 8: case scenario.
- 43:59Speaker 5: Yeah, because it's a long trip, so you get that
- 44:03Speaker 5: out of the way early and it's not sandwiched in
- 44:05Speaker 5: between a game the week before and it should be
- 44:08Speaker 5: about two weeks that they have often between the last
- 44:11Speaker 5: preseason game right and the opener, so you're not really
- 44:15Speaker 5: having that like, oh, we just played a game Sunday
- 44:17Speaker 5: and now we're flying out to Seattle and we're doing
- 44:19Speaker 5: this whole thing. And I think if you're going to
- 44:21Speaker 5: catch a team as good as the Seahawks napping, it's
- 44:24Speaker 5: gonna be Week one of the season.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:26Speaker 5: I mean the Patriots lost to the Raiders in a
- 44:28Speaker 5: Week one of the season last year, Like it's always wonky.
- 44:31Speaker 5: Week ones are always weird. Favorites lose all the time
- 44:34Speaker 5: in Week one, So if you're going to play Seattle,
- 44:37Speaker 5: I feel like that might be the best time to
- 44:39Speaker 5: catch them.
- 44:39Speaker 8: It's not an ideal.
- 44:40Speaker 6: I mean, obviously you're playing the Super Bowl champs, so
- 44:42Speaker 6: it's not going to be an easy game. And I
- 44:43Speaker 6: think since they started having the defending champ open the season,
- 44:49Speaker 6: I think home teams are sixteen and five or something
- 44:51Speaker 6: like that.
- 44:52Speaker 8: So but you're playing a good team on the road.
- 44:55Speaker 8: That makes it tough.
- 44:56Speaker 6: I think playing them in Week one makes it, I say,
- 45:00Speaker 6: the least tough that it could be, Yeah, because I
- 45:02Speaker 6: think for all the reasons that you guys just said.
- 45:04Speaker 4: The only downside about that is we've all said that,
- 45:07Speaker 4: you know, going into this year, we want to see
- 45:10Speaker 4: what kind of mental improvement Drake May has and it
- 45:13Speaker 4: might be too early in the season to really judge that,
- 45:16Speaker 4: you know, so maybe you know, playing the other side
- 45:20Speaker 4: of the street, maybe playing the Seahawks later in the season,
- 45:24Speaker 4: you could see how far.
- 45:25Speaker 7: Drake May has developed. I don't know.
- 45:27Speaker 4: I don't think it would be fair to judge him
- 45:29Speaker 4: in week one based off his last game being the
- 45:32Speaker 4: super Bowl.
- 45:33Speaker 5: It's it's I think the toughest spot is mentally, they
- 45:37Speaker 5: just kind of beat your butts in the Super Bowl
- 45:41Speaker 5: and now you're the same you have to play the
- 45:42Speaker 5: same team in the next game as they're hanging the
- 45:46Speaker 5: banner for the Super Bowl that they just beat it, right,
- 45:49Speaker 5: So that is a that's a little bit if it
- 45:51Speaker 5: if there's any sort of like mental angle to it,
- 45:54Speaker 5: like that you're kind of like reliving it all over
- 45:57Speaker 5: again to an extent. Uh, you know, like there bens
- 46:00Speaker 5: some teams that have like stayed in the locker room
- 46:02Speaker 5: during those ceremonies and stuff and like kind of tried
- 46:05Speaker 5: to stay away from it. But that place is always
- 46:08Speaker 5: uh one of the best atmospheres in the NFL, And
- 46:10Speaker 5: on a banner night like that, it's going.
- 46:12Speaker 9: To be well, if you need motivation, what better motivation
- 46:15Speaker 9: than them hanging a banner and then you spoil trade.
- 46:19Speaker 5: I would assume that that would be the button Vrabel pushes, like,
- 46:23Speaker 5: we we can't make up for the fact that they
- 46:25Speaker 5: won the Super Bowl against us. We can't take the
- 46:27Speaker 5: trophy back, but let's ruin their nice But.
- 46:30Speaker 4: You don't want to do play it up so much
- 46:32Speaker 4: where if you do lose that, you know it it
- 46:37Speaker 4: has a negative effect going forward.
- 46:39Speaker 5: So I remember the the year after the Chiefs beat
- 46:41Speaker 5: the Eagles in the Super Bowl, they played a regular
- 46:45Speaker 5: season game and the Eagles won the regular season game,
- 46:49Speaker 5: and Nick Sirianni was like in the tunnel like like
- 46:54Speaker 5: saying payback or something like that, and then that later
- 46:57Speaker 5: that the Eagles won the Super Bowl.
- 46:59Speaker 7: That was the year that a rematch if they play
- 47:02Speaker 7: that fall, would it be a rematch?
- 47:05Speaker 6: I think Prognosticator told me, no, well, this one might
- 47:08Speaker 6: be well, I mean, Nate just told you all the
- 47:11Speaker 6: different guys that won't be playing.
- 47:12Speaker 4: I know, but it is close enough. It's still the
- 47:14Speaker 4: same coaches, same quarterbacks.
- 47:17Speaker 8: Fred always said, we're not allowed to write it's a
- 47:19Speaker 8: super Bowl rematch because it's no such thing.
- 47:22Speaker 3: But it is a rematch, but it's not in the
- 47:25Speaker 3: super Bowl, though.
- 47:26Speaker 5: But it's literally this one.
- 47:29Speaker 8: I'm just telling you what, but this no good. Don't shoot.
- 47:35Speaker 7: Usually the case Paul doesn't give you all this.
- 47:38Speaker 4: Is good for me to know this is not gonna
- 47:40Speaker 4: I've said that in the past. When like four years
- 47:42Speaker 4: later you play a team that you played in the Super.
- 47:44Speaker 7: Bowl rematch.
- 47:47Speaker 4: Doing that, that's when I that's when I reciferously it's
- 47:52Speaker 4: not a rematch.
- 47:53Speaker 8: When you started by saying, you know kind of what
- 47:56Speaker 8: I think the road you were going down, it's Week one,
- 47:57Speaker 8: it's the very next.
- 47:58Speaker 6: Game, it's kind of a rea you're saying, it's a
- 48:00Speaker 6: little different. It is kind of a rematch, but you
- 48:02Speaker 6: didn't say it was like four years later, it's not you.
- 48:05Speaker 7: That's when I that's what I've said.
- 48:06Speaker 6: Next year is not necessarily a super Bowl rematch because
- 48:09Speaker 6: it's not a super Bowl and it's not all the
- 48:10Speaker 6: same players. And to be honest with there's much grief
- 48:13Speaker 6: as I've given you for that over the years.
- 48:15Speaker 8: I kind of agree with you.
- 48:16Speaker 6: It's not the same, just like it wasn't the same
- 48:18Speaker 6: when the Eagles beat the Chiefs the next year in
- 48:20Speaker 6: a regular season.
- 48:21Speaker 8: It's not the same, right.
- 48:22Speaker 3: Unless they let the Patriots take Steel the Lombardy back.
- 48:25Speaker 8: Right then it's a Super Bowl remach like in other words,
- 48:28Speaker 8: which would be kind of like.
- 48:31Speaker 4: If they were to play one and the Patriots won.
- 48:34Speaker 4: Do you really think that's payback for the Super Bowl? No,
- 48:37Speaker 4: it is, but it being like like the like, that's
- 48:42Speaker 4: a rematch, right right. A great way to start the
- 48:46Speaker 4: season though, and I do.
- 48:47Speaker 6: I think it's a good opportunity to catch maybe Seattle
- 48:50Speaker 6: thinking about things that aren't necessarily football.
- 48:53Speaker 5: It's just always there's a lot of Emotive's a lot
- 48:55Speaker 5: of emotion that goes on the offseason time of year.
- 49:00Speaker 5: So they have some new pieces, you know, more Kenneth
- 49:02Speaker 5: Walker like, are they really you know, the Seattle at
- 49:07Speaker 5: the Patriots played six months ago or are they a
- 49:09Speaker 5: more watered down version because of the time of year
- 49:12Speaker 5: and all that stuff. I think is a big factor.
- 49:14Speaker 6: The Chiefs lost in that game a couple of years
- 49:16Speaker 6: ago to the Lions. I think, yeah, I remember that one. Yeah,
- 49:19Speaker 6: you know, like sometimes I just think there's a lot
- 49:22Speaker 6: of emotion that goes into that game. And funny things happened.
- 49:24Speaker 6: Patriots lost one here to Kansas City on the kickoff
- 49:29Speaker 6: game one, Yeah, with Brady.
- 49:31Speaker 5: Got smoked and that was even with Brady does Kareem
- 49:34Speaker 5: hunt down the sideline? I remember on the wheel rout
- 49:36Speaker 5: Christian in LA.
- 49:37Speaker 7: What's up Christian?
- 49:39Speaker 14: Hey, Hey you guys, and good afternoon.
- 49:42Speaker 7: Hey.
- 49:43Speaker 14: So I have I have two things. One, I have
- 49:45Speaker 14: a buddy who worked at NFL Networks since it's out
- 49:47Speaker 14: here in LA and Culovia City, and he said he
- 49:50Speaker 14: can't really tell me anything, but he had a sneak
- 49:52Speaker 14: peek and he says, we're going seven and oh. So
- 49:55Speaker 14: I'm waiting for this evening for the schedule to come
- 49:57Speaker 14: out so I can sort of, you know, makes sense
- 50:00Speaker 14: to what he's talking about. But that's what he thinks
- 50:02Speaker 14: based on who they have was facing the first seven
- 50:05Speaker 14: games that were going to be seven and oh. And
- 50:07Speaker 14: my second thing is this, have the Patriots given up
- 50:11Speaker 14: their moral authority to say certain players are not a
- 50:14Speaker 14: culture fit for our team after the rabeled debacle? Have
- 50:19Speaker 14: we lost that ability to stay like a Stefan Diggs
- 50:21Speaker 14: for example, we know part of why they aren't bringing
- 50:24Speaker 14: him back is because he's a supposed diva and distraction
- 50:27Speaker 14: and all that kind of stuff. But with him getting
- 50:30Speaker 14: rid of the crazy girlfriend, being that he wasn't guilty
- 50:34Speaker 14: of anything, can the Patriots still leonon well, you know,
- 50:37Speaker 14: the distraction or feel distraction guy, and so on and
- 50:40Speaker 14: so forth. Because I can't see a reason why we
- 50:42Speaker 14: wouldn't want Romeo Dobbs, AJ Brown and Stefon Diggs, who
- 50:47Speaker 14: performed marvelously coming off of that acl and is determined
- 50:51Speaker 14: to form even better this year. Why wouldn't we want
- 50:54Speaker 14: that as out three receivers. And it can't be the money,
- 50:57Speaker 14: because we have a bunch of money that we can
- 51:00Speaker 14: be the.
- 51:00Speaker 7: Money if Diggs wants too much of it.
- 51:03Speaker 14: But we know, we already know he doesn't want to.
- 51:05Speaker 7: But how do we know? How do you?
- 51:06Speaker 14: You don't know that he himself, he just wants to
- 51:09Speaker 14: be back. He's not being worried about the money.
- 51:11Speaker 7: Did he say that? I didn't hear that.
- 51:13Speaker 8: I could give you a laundry list of guys. I
- 51:15Speaker 8: don't even care about the money.
- 51:16Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 51:17Speaker 5: I can't believe that it's still talking about sixty plus
- 51:20Speaker 5: million dollars invested in wide receivers that.
- 51:23Speaker 6: I'm the only one that doesn't and I admit we
- 51:25Speaker 6: talked about this Tuesday. I'm the only one that doesn't
- 51:27Speaker 6: want those three guys. I don't think it's a great
- 51:30Speaker 6: fit with Digs and Brown both being on the same like.
- 51:34Speaker 14: Mean football standpoint.
- 51:38Speaker 8: How did Digs play in the playoffs? What did he
- 51:40Speaker 8: do down the stretch?
- 51:42Speaker 14: What did any of us do down the stretch?
- 51:44Speaker 6: What did Diggs do down the stretch? I'm talking about
- 51:46Speaker 6: the focal point of the passing game. What happened to
- 51:49Speaker 6: him down the stretch. That's what I'm concerned about football.
- 51:53Speaker 6: I'm worried about football. I'm not worried about like all
- 51:56Speaker 6: the other stuff. Certainly not worried about money. I agree
- 51:58Speaker 6: with you on money. They have plenty of it. They
- 52:00Speaker 6: could pay him anything you wanted, Paul.
- 52:04Speaker 17: He got doubled and steamed out now because we don't
- 52:07Speaker 17: couldn't get open, couldn't get over because he much like
- 52:11Speaker 17: he couldn't get up and down the stretch in Buffalo,
- 52:14Speaker 17: much like he couldn't get open down the stretch the
- 52:16Speaker 17: last two.
- 52:17Speaker 8: Years in Buffalo. That's why they have a name for him.
- 52:21Speaker 8: It's called December Digs. That's what I saw. I mocked it.
- 52:26Speaker 8: I mocked it all year and then I saw it.
- 52:28Speaker 7: I can't believe I'm going to help Christian out here.
- 52:30Speaker 4: But would he have more opportunity to get open if
- 52:33Speaker 4: he's the number three receiver?
- 52:34Speaker 8: Yeah, I don't want him as a number three receiver.
- 52:37Speaker 8: That's my whole point. I think you can do better?
- 52:39Speaker 7: Really, Yes, as a number three.
- 52:41Speaker 14: Yes, he came up for a cl and had a
- 52:43Speaker 14: thousand yards last year. You think we can do better?
- 52:46Speaker 6: I think he's trending the other way. Christian, listen, I'm
- 52:49Speaker 6: not a football coach, I'm not efan. I'm not breaking
- 52:51Speaker 6: down all the routes. Really, why why does why does
- 52:58Speaker 6: anybody just why does it?
- 53:00Speaker 7: But beall what?
- 53:02Speaker 6: That's That's the biggest bitch call we've ever gotten on
- 53:04Speaker 6: this show. Why does somebody disagreeing with his football opinion?
- 53:09Speaker 6: I'm not talking about the money, I'm not talking about
- 53:11Speaker 6: the off field stuff. I think he looked to me
- 53:14Speaker 6: like a guy who was declining last year. I think
- 53:17Speaker 6: he had a thousand yards and he was huffing him
- 53:19Speaker 6: puffing by the end of it, and is not on
- 53:23Speaker 6: the way up.
- 53:24Speaker 8: That's my opinion. That doesn't mean I'm right.
- 53:26Speaker 7: I don't.
- 53:26Speaker 6: I'm not Evan, I'm not a football guy. I'm not
- 53:29Speaker 6: like watching yourself. I'm not watching all of this film
- 53:32Speaker 6: and stuff. That doesn't mean I'm right.
- 53:34Speaker 7: I opinion.
- 53:37Speaker 5: I believe that.
- 53:38Speaker 8: Stefan Diggs's best football is behind him. He's right. It
- 53:41Speaker 8: doesn't mean I'm right.
- 53:43Speaker 5: I'm sure. I didn't mean his best behind him, But
- 53:46Speaker 5: that's because his best football was like one of the
- 53:48Speaker 5: top three receivers in the NFL.
- 53:53Speaker 3: Is behind him.
- 53:54Speaker 8: Him being as good as he was last year is
- 53:56Speaker 8: behind him.
- 53:56Speaker 7: Opinion.
- 53:57Speaker 6: Okay, forget about fifteen hundred, that's ancient history.
- 54:01Speaker 5: That could be I I think that Christian made a
- 54:04Speaker 5: valid point about how he was getting all the attention
- 54:08Speaker 5: in the playoffs, and these teams are game planning the
- 54:10Speaker 5: Patriots passing game, and it was clear that taking Digs
- 54:13Speaker 5: out of the game was priority number one for everybody.
- 54:16Speaker 5: So if you have a guy like aj Brown who
- 54:18Speaker 5: he's now playing off of, and Romeo Dobbs who's now
- 54:21Speaker 5: playing off of in theory, right, you know, like is
- 54:24Speaker 5: he he's going to have more openings and more one
- 54:26Speaker 5: on ones and more opportunity.
- 54:28Speaker 8: I just think you could get a guy for less
- 54:32Speaker 8: headaches than to do that the offense. I don't think
- 54:37Speaker 8: you need to have Stefan Diggs be they.
- 54:38Speaker 5: I would be worried about that part.
- 54:40Speaker 8: I think that's what I'm talking about.
- 54:41Speaker 5: By the time we got to Super Bowl week, it's
- 54:45Speaker 5: that the train was really coming off the tracks with
- 54:48Speaker 5: the Fan Diggs like we and you started to really
- 54:51Speaker 5: get some of the downsides of that and how much
- 54:53Speaker 5: of that you know, I don't want to get into,
- 54:56Speaker 5: but like, how do you avoid that for another year?
- 55:00Speaker 5: Like I you know, eventually the wheels kind of come off,
- 55:03Speaker 5: and that happened here. Now that doesn't mean he wasn't great.
- 55:08Speaker 6: He had a great year. Yeah, but it's here for
- 55:10Speaker 6: them on and off the field. He was good in
- 55:12Speaker 6: the locker room. And that's why I'm saying I'm I'm
- 55:14Speaker 6: basing it on football.
- 55:15Speaker 7: I'm not.
- 55:16Speaker 8: I think all the things you just said are valid.
- 55:18Speaker 8: I would be concerned with how he handles being a
- 55:22Speaker 8: third fiddle. Well, I'm not even talking about any of that.
- 55:29Speaker 8: I'm just talking about I saw a guy on.
- 55:31Speaker 6: The decline and that's fine, and I think he probably
- 55:34Speaker 6: doesn't look at it that way.
- 55:35Speaker 5: I just wonder how much and I'm not trying to
- 55:38Speaker 5: open up the whole can of worms the off field stuff,
- 55:40Speaker 5: but how much did that impact the football because every
- 55:44Speaker 5: year I don't I wouldn't say it's been every year,
- 55:48Speaker 5: like been like the game since the game in Baltimore
- 55:51Speaker 5: where he was a guy. But the game in Baltimore
- 55:53Speaker 5: was late in the season, and he was unguardable that
- 55:55Speaker 5: night too. And when the Ravens game last year, late
- 55:59Speaker 5: in the season, it was like, we what December?
- 56:02Speaker 7: Definitely consider that late in the season.
- 56:04Speaker 5: Yeah, and he was, what do you mean okay, you
- 56:07Speaker 5: went for over one hundred yards in the game?
- 56:10Speaker 8: He was, I forgot that game.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 56:13Speaker 5: No, I'm not saying that. You can yell at me
- 56:16Speaker 5: like Christian No, I'm not yelling at you. I'm just saying, like,
- 56:18Speaker 5: there were times where he played pretty well.
- 56:20Speaker 8: He had one good game in the last two months.
- 56:22Speaker 8: I just feel like that that I missed one.
- 56:24Speaker 5: When it's stuff that was going on with him, Like
- 56:27Speaker 5: how much was that impacting his ability to put it
- 56:30Speaker 5: into I.
- 56:31Speaker 6: Really don't think that's like I'm just not as concerned
- 56:34Speaker 6: about that part of it. I'm really not because I
- 56:36Speaker 6: think he just played his whole career with that kind
- 56:38Speaker 6: of craziness going on around him.
- 56:41Speaker 8: Like, I don't really think that was why his production
- 56:43Speaker 8: fell off.
- 56:45Speaker 5: I think as a human being, I discussed I just
- 56:48Speaker 5: can't imagine that having a legal and a relationship going up, And.
- 56:55Speaker 8: I think that's maybe.
- 56:59Speaker 5: I guess, I don't know, Like I just I felt
- 57:02Speaker 5: like that those things kind of maybe it was coincidental
- 57:04Speaker 5: that they happened at the same time, but they kind
- 57:06Speaker 5: of happened at the same time, like all of a sudden,
- 57:08Speaker 5: he started playing worse and all this stuff is in
- 57:11Speaker 5: the news about him, and it just.
- 57:12Speaker 6: Felt I'll say this, you know, along those lines earlier
- 57:16Speaker 6: in the show, I said, I don't have any idea
- 57:18Speaker 6: what goes on with A. J. Brown and Drake May
- 57:20Speaker 6: and their personalities, So I'm going to say the same
- 57:24Speaker 6: thing here. I have no idea how Drake Stefan Diggs
- 57:28Speaker 6: mentally dealt with that stuff. I just feel like he's
- 57:30Speaker 6: sort of dealt with that kind of noise we'll call it,
- 57:34Speaker 6: throughout his career and thrived on it.
- 57:36Speaker 3: Yeah, the relationship was a lot more high.
- 57:38Speaker 6: Maybe this was maybe this was was worse for him.
- 57:41Speaker 6: I think because he was here, he's had that kind
- 57:43Speaker 6: of craziness as whole. Yeah, I'm sure, right, Yeah, what
- 57:48Speaker 6: about all the other thing, I mean, four supposed relationships alleged.
- 57:53Speaker 8: Yeah, I'm just I just think that that's why. I
- 57:58Speaker 8: just think it's got to be fair.
- 57:59Speaker 5: I don't no, you're right that maybe you know, he
- 58:03Speaker 5: was starting to wear down later on in the season.
- 58:05Speaker 5: I think that some of the stuff that was going
- 58:07Speaker 5: on off the field had to have weighed on him
- 58:08Speaker 5: a little bit. And they got to the end of
- 58:10Speaker 5: the season in super Bowl Week and it was like,
- 58:13Speaker 5: listen to.
- 58:14Speaker 7: Me, having him as the third guy in the receiving
- 58:17Speaker 7: room is intriguing.
- 58:18Speaker 4: That's a lot of talent. That's a lot of talent. Now,
- 58:21Speaker 4: everything Paul said.
- 58:22Speaker 8: Could be And you guys are right in a vacuum
- 58:25Speaker 8: just on paper, you know, like you know, Craig Breslo
- 58:28Speaker 8: would make this move in a heartbeat, like because he wouldn't.
- 58:30Speaker 8: You know, it says right here with the numbers here,
- 58:32Speaker 8: thousand yards, plug it in like there's no human emotion
- 58:35Speaker 8: to it, there's no human factor football wise. Just that
- 58:39Speaker 8: on paper, yeah, would make sense.
- 58:41Speaker 6: But I look at football wise and I think, and
- 58:45Speaker 6: it doesn't mean I'm right, I believe he's going in
- 58:47Speaker 6: the other direction.
- 58:48Speaker 5: No, he is absolutely going in the other direction. It's
- 58:50Speaker 5: just if he's playing. Last year, he played fifty two
- 58:53Speaker 5: percent of the snaps going in the other direction. So
- 58:56Speaker 5: if he's going to be a guy that's only going
- 58:58Speaker 5: to play fifty two percent of the snap again as
- 59:00Speaker 5: the third receiver, Like, that's still a lot better than
- 59:04Speaker 5: what your typical third receiver is going to offer you.
- 59:06Speaker 5: So even him at you know, not at the peak
- 59:10Speaker 5: of his powers anymore, is still a lot better than still.
- 59:12Speaker 4: Looks how to get open, and he knows where the
- 59:14Speaker 4: sticks are, and so I don't know, we'll see.
- 59:17Speaker 8: It's fun Ye find it funny that he's still available.
- 59:20Speaker 7: Yeah, that's a good point.
- 59:23Speaker 5: I think that that had to do with the court issues.
- 59:26Speaker 7: Okay, but that's done now, that's been done for a while.
- 59:29Speaker 5: A couple weeks now, it's spent like a week all right.
- 59:32Speaker 7: Well, no, but that is a good point. Like, you
- 59:35Speaker 7: don't hear any rumors about teams knocking on his door, and.
- 59:38Speaker 8: That absolutely could have had something to do with the
- 59:41Speaker 8: pending trial.
- 59:42Speaker 4: Riley's in Arizona. What's up Riley, Riley Riley and Arizona.
- 59:50Speaker 17: There he is?
- 59:50Speaker 7: What's up?
- 59:51Speaker 4: I'm Americ?
- 59:53Speaker 12: Good? Yes?
- 59:55Speaker 2: Cool?
- 59:56Speaker 18: So a couple of things. With it being such a
- 59:59Speaker 18: lull on the off season, I found myself last night
- 1:00:03Speaker 18: rewatching some of the game highlights from last season. Most
- 1:00:07Speaker 18: notable was that Giants game. That was an absolutely wild game.
- 1:00:13Speaker 18: It was just play after play and something crazy seemed.
- 1:00:16Speaker 5: To be going on.
- 1:00:18Speaker 18: But anyways, with that, I definitely noticed the physicality that
- 1:00:23Speaker 18: we played with that game, and I wanted to bring up.
- 1:00:27Speaker 13: A couple points.
- 1:00:29Speaker 18: With the depth on linebacker being kind of thin obviously
- 1:00:35Speaker 18: behind Ellis since Blaine as the two main guys, since
- 1:00:38Speaker 18: we don't really know what BRIT's role is going to
- 1:00:40Speaker 18: be yet, what do you guys think about bringing Bobby
- 1:00:44Speaker 18: o'cara kay on or maybe another linebacker? I know he's
- 1:00:50Speaker 18: not a Mike, but maybe like a Jerome Baker. I know,
- 1:00:55Speaker 18: both of their performances according to PFF kind of dipped
- 1:00:58Speaker 18: last year. Jerome Baker had a much better PFF grade.
- 1:01:03Speaker 18: But just wanted to get you guys thoughts on that,
- 1:01:06Speaker 18: and Okay, you're not interested in bringing in them, what
- 1:01:09Speaker 18: other linebackers would you?
- 1:01:10Speaker 11: Right?
- 1:01:12Speaker 8: Thanks?
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: Riley updating the depth at linebacker.
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: Yeah, there's a We've talked a little bit about some
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: of those free agents that are available at that position.
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: Sometimes when you get through a draft and I know
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: they they drafted obizor, But when you get through a
- 1:01:25Speaker 5: draft and one of the positions maybe you wanted to
- 1:01:28Speaker 5: hit kind of fell through the cracks and the board,
- 1:01:30Speaker 5: didn't you go ahead and sign one of these free agents?
- 1:01:33Speaker 5: Usually after uh, you know, the the comppic stuff like
- 1:01:37Speaker 5: disappears and it's just kind of a more straight uh acquisition.
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: Only other thing, I don't mind the names that he mentioned. Uh,
- 1:01:45Speaker 5: I do wonder if, like they're in that position again
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: like they kind of were in the dynasty years, Like
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: do you call Bobby Wagner, do you call Matt Mulano?
- 1:01:53Speaker 5: Like do you call one of those guys.
- 1:01:54Speaker 8: And those kinds of veteran names. I'd be intrigued.
- 1:01:56Speaker 5: Yeah, Like I think those guys were better players that
- 1:01:59Speaker 5: they're at peaks than the guys you mentioned. So is
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: there a world where one of those comes in and
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: you know, has the Brian Water season or Junior Sayou
- 1:02:08Speaker 5: season where he's just you know, one more year of
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: being a productive starting caliber player, and he does it
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: here that I would be pretty interested in me too, sure,
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: uh Sava, what's up?
- 1:02:22Speaker 8: Hey there, guys.
- 1:02:23Speaker 19: A couple of things. First of all, I'm going to
- 1:02:26Speaker 19: Italy the next stuff a few weeks oh, listen, Florence, Rome,
- 1:02:31Speaker 19: and I'm off the coast and we're going to do
- 1:02:33Speaker 19: some of those tours. I got a travel setting up
- 1:02:35Speaker 19: everything nice. I may not have any money left over
- 1:02:37Speaker 19: when we get back, but.
- 1:02:38Speaker 7: I don't have a good time.
- 1:02:39Speaker 8: Okay, I can't take it with that is absolutely true.
- 1:02:42Speaker 8: I don't.
- 1:02:43Speaker 19: Yeah, well, hopefully it'll be worth it, and it will be.
- 1:02:46Speaker 8: And good thing.
- 1:02:47Speaker 19: We got our tickets before all this ran stuff, so
- 1:02:49Speaker 19: I think I got a ticket at a pretty good deal.
- 1:02:51Speaker 19: So that was good for gas prices and all.
- 1:02:53Speaker 18: So.
- 1:02:54Speaker 19: And then next thing I want to say is I'm curious. Well,
- 1:02:58Speaker 19: first of all, I want to talk talking about the
- 1:03:00Speaker 19: Digs thing here in Washington or they're salivating, they want
- 1:03:02Speaker 19: him so badly. And I grew that other gentleman that
- 1:03:06Speaker 19: Diggs would be a good addition for a couple of reasons,
- 1:03:08Speaker 19: I mean not a good addition, but re addition for.
- 1:03:11Speaker 12: A couple of reasons.
- 1:03:12Speaker 19: That he wouldn't be the main focus of the defensive
- 1:03:15Speaker 19: attention with your other two receivers that you're bringing in.
- 1:03:18Speaker 19: If you can bring in aj Brown, and also he
- 1:03:21Speaker 19: may serve as a good distraction for Rafel's adultery, so
- 1:03:24Speaker 19: maybe they'll get more questions abow big Ben Brave. So
- 1:03:28Speaker 19: I think that it would not be And I would
- 1:03:30Speaker 19: not blame him for the playoff disappearing act because honestly,
- 1:03:34Speaker 19: the offensive line disappeared during the playoffs, the one Campbell,
- 1:03:37Speaker 19: your left tackle, and that left guard I don't know
- 1:03:39Speaker 19: his name, So Drake may didn't even have a chance
- 1:03:42Speaker 19: to look for Diggs or any secondary people. And offensive coach,
- 1:03:46Speaker 19: as we said earlier, did not really help Drake. My
- 1:03:49Speaker 19: third point is, and I just curious if you guys
- 1:03:52Speaker 19: heard that Jada Daniels is going to be in the
- 1:03:55Speaker 19: quarterback thing coming up July fourteenth, along with Flaco and
- 1:04:02Speaker 19: cam Ward and Baker Mayfield. So and that is retroactive,
- 1:04:06Speaker 19: meaning is going to talk about last year. I'm curious,
- 1:04:09Speaker 19: would you guys have wanted Drake May Do you want
- 1:04:12Speaker 19: him to be one of those guys, because I noticed
- 1:04:14Speaker 19: when that happens, the quarterbacks will end up having like
- 1:04:17Speaker 19: the best year, Like when Golf did it, they lost
- 1:04:19Speaker 19: in the championship game to US, and like now when
- 1:04:22Speaker 19: Jayden did it, he basically had a horrible year. So
- 1:04:25Speaker 19: I just want to figure out, like from you guys,
- 1:04:29Speaker 19: would you guys be interested in having because as a fan,
- 1:04:31Speaker 19: I would love to see Drake may do it, but
- 1:04:33Speaker 19: not as a I don't want him succeed. I would,
- 1:04:36Speaker 19: you know, because I don't want him distract it or
- 1:04:37Speaker 19: feeling pressure.
- 1:04:38Speaker 3: I can't imagine.
- 1:04:44Speaker 7: I don't.
- 1:04:46Speaker 8: Because people like him doesn't mean they're good.
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: I don't. I don't necessarily think.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: That Drake does not like the cameras.
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: I don't necessarily think that it said do. These guys
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: are so used to having cameras and people around them
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: at all times, being on t TV, and especially like
- 1:05:01Speaker 5: you know, younger players of you know that generation, like
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: Jaden Daniels has had a camera in his face, you know,
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: since LSU Like. I don't think that that's anything different
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: for any of these players, So I wouldn't worry too
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: much about that. But I don't think there's any question
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: that Diggs would would be a great football edition. I
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: just think that there's not you guys, are probably right.
- 1:05:22Speaker 8: There probably be stubborn on it.
- 1:05:23Speaker 5: There's just stuff that goes. I think that what you're
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: kind of suggesting fact like the human nature like is
- 1:05:30Speaker 5: it would they all play nice in the sandbox?
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: J Brown?
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: The point I wanted to make earlier when you guys
- 1:05:35Speaker 3: were just like yelling at each other.
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: Yet those Yeah.
- 1:05:38Speaker 9: Doesn't J Brown already have an issue with the amount
- 1:05:41Speaker 9: of targets he's getting and now you have I don't
- 1:05:44Speaker 9: think so why does he want to leave Philly because
- 1:05:46Speaker 9: he doesn't like Jalen Hurts because he hasn't known the
- 1:05:48Speaker 9: ball enough.
- 1:05:49Speaker 8: Oh no, no, no, he throws in the ball way
- 1:05:51Speaker 8: more than he throws anybody else.
- 1:05:52Speaker 9: And I'm mistaken in why I thought he wanted to
- 1:05:55Speaker 9: get out of there. But that's your number one? Does
- 1:05:58Speaker 9: Digs think he's a number three over? Romeo Dolls that
- 1:06:01Speaker 9: it's really weird.
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: Thinks he's the number one over because no better than
- 1:06:08Speaker 6: Brown's by a lot.
- 1:06:10Speaker 7: But that's a good question.
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: The ego of these guys like it doesn't.
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: And then you got Dobbs, who seems like a nice
- 1:06:17Speaker 4: guy at level headed, but he could say, hey, when
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: you signed me, there was no a J.
- 1:06:21Speaker 7: Brown there was no Stefan Diggs. I was going to
- 1:06:24Speaker 7: be number one.
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: Now that's that's it's just a weird trio hierarchy.
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: That's the absolutely the the con to signing and trading
- 1:06:37Speaker 5: for a J. Brown and signing Diggs is are they
- 1:06:40Speaker 5: all going to play nice together? And where coaching comes in,
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: there's only one football. You can only throw it to
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: one person on every single play, So is there gonna
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: be enough to go around?
- 1:06:49Speaker 7: Now?
- 1:06:50Speaker 5: That's the number one concern. On paper, It's like the
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: football would be awesome. I mean, that's a great football fit.
- 1:06:57Speaker 5: But it doesn't.
- 1:06:58Speaker 7: Yeah, so that swear you know, Rabel and.
- 1:07:01Speaker 9: Mc daniels and Dick's played well with that last year.
- 1:07:05Speaker 9: But he's splitting it with Kayshawn Boody. He was he
- 1:07:09Speaker 9: was the guy, you know, like that wouldn't be the
- 1:07:11Speaker 9: case anymore now? Is Does he have as good of
- 1:07:13Speaker 9: an attitude about Drake spreading the ball as much as Drake.
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: Likes to do.
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:07:18Speaker 4: I mean when it was just me and Paul and
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: we started bringing in other people, it took me a
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: while to get Paul to accept that, Like he's not
- 1:07:26Speaker 4: the man.
- 1:07:26Speaker 7: All the time, we were worried that Eric, Eric Scallavino, you.
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: Know, we were worried that the that's going to accept me. Honestly,
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: all right, there are some affairs about.
- 1:07:37Speaker 7: Todd's and Gardner. What's up time.
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: Outside the building outside the building show?
- 1:07:41Speaker 11: Yeah, Hey, hey, hey guys. It's been a great so
- 1:07:45Speaker 11: so far, and I'm really looking forward to seeing our
- 1:07:47Speaker 11: O line play. But I have a question for Fred here.
- 1:07:51Speaker 11: My wife's got offered a job and she'd have to
- 1:07:52Speaker 11: commute between ward Hill and Tewkesbury and northern Massachusetts. Am
- 1:07:57Speaker 11: I gonna have to sell like a kidney, liver parts
- 1:07:59Speaker 11: or something to be able to afford to live there?
- 1:08:01Speaker 11: Or what do you?
- 1:08:01Speaker 7: Todd?
- 1:08:02Speaker 11: Can you repeat the first air?
- 1:08:04Speaker 20: No?
- 1:08:04Speaker 8: No, no, don't hang up?
- 1:08:05Speaker 7: Where's she going?
- 1:08:06Speaker 8: Just the first one to Tewksbury? What's the first place.
- 1:08:09Speaker 11: To ward Hill? Ward Hill has just passed and over
- 1:08:13Speaker 11: to the northeast.
- 1:08:14Speaker 8: I've never heard of ward Hill in my life.
- 1:08:16Speaker 7: So and over in Tewsbury, that's that's very close.
- 1:08:19Speaker 6: That's not that's not a bad commune at all time.
- 1:08:21Speaker 6: And over to Tewksbury is half hour max even trap.
- 1:08:27Speaker 11: That's what I'm worried about.
- 1:08:28Speaker 5: I wouldn't say that's overly pricey. Massachusetts property property very expensive.
- 1:08:36Speaker 3: If you live in Andover, you live in and Over
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: now and you want to move to Tewkesbury.
- 1:08:41Speaker 11: No, No, we live in Gardner, North Carolina. They offered
- 1:08:45Speaker 11: her a job there and we might have to move.
- 1:08:47Speaker 7: And so why do you have to live in and.
- 1:08:54Speaker 8: Working in two harsh suburbs.
- 1:08:56Speaker 11: Yeah, she'd be working in both Tewkesbury and ward Hill
- 1:09:00Speaker 11: because there's two facilities. She'd have to drive back.
- 1:09:02Speaker 7: Okay, so you find a place in the middle.
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: I think towers. I mean, everything.
- 1:09:08Speaker 7: Is tough.
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: It's expensive up in that area.
- 1:09:11Speaker 8: You're not going to get any expensive everywhere.
- 1:09:13Speaker 4: So anything exactly exactly what I was going to say.
- 1:09:17Speaker 9: And honestly, it's starting. You're starting to see it as
- 1:09:19Speaker 9: even going west. Springfield, mass is the hottest real estate
- 1:09:23Speaker 9: market in.
- 1:09:25Speaker 7: G from where you are you started in Canada, you're
- 1:09:29Speaker 7: going to get sticker shock.
- 1:09:32Speaker 9: Okay, but if she can negotiate a really nice three
- 1:09:35Speaker 9: location fee, it might be worth it because prices aren't
- 1:09:40Speaker 9: going to.
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Go down here.
- 1:09:41Speaker 11: Company, Yeah, pretty big company.
- 1:09:43Speaker 5: It is not like it is down there to.
- 1:09:47Speaker 8: The woods. Todd, do you have kids?
- 1:09:50Speaker 11: Keep down here? Like I'll be honest.
- 1:09:51Speaker 12: We have one kid.
- 1:09:52Speaker 11: He's yeah, he's just going into school, but he loves
- 1:09:57Speaker 11: to do a bunch of things. So he'd be loving
- 1:09:59Speaker 11: to be in community where he could, you know, do
- 1:10:02Speaker 11: his dance. He's a he does ballet. He's been with
- 1:10:04Speaker 11: the company up on stage and stuff. So you know
- 1:10:07Speaker 11: the idea of moving to Massachusetts is appealing because I
- 1:10:10Speaker 11: think he'd have more opportunities.
- 1:10:12Speaker 7: Mm hmm. Yeah. So education is better, healthcare is better.
- 1:10:16Speaker 7: So yeah, part of it. But you pay for it. Great,
- 1:10:19Speaker 7: you pay for that, all right, Todd, Good luck.
- 1:10:23Speaker 8: Let us know what's going on.
- 1:10:24Speaker 5: I hope it goes all right.
- 1:10:25Speaker 7: Time for a break. I'm exhausted. We'll be right back.

- 1:12:58Speaker 2: it's been really good. I love it here.
- 1:13:01Speaker 24: The adjustment fields right on time in terms of obviously
- 1:13:06Speaker 24: coming into a new system, being under obviously a great
- 1:13:11Speaker 24: offensive coordinator. Josh McDaniels. You know, coach Rabel. Things in
- 1:13:20Speaker 24: that nature. Yeah, just football stuff.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:13:24Speaker 6: I both said that when the day you got here,
- 1:13:26Speaker 6: you were already trying to dive into playbook.
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: How's that process been for the last few months now,
- 1:13:31Speaker 2: It's been really solid.
- 1:13:32Speaker 24: Like I said before, everything's been really on time, you know,
- 1:13:37Speaker 24: just understanding just the little things from you know, concepts
- 1:13:42Speaker 24: and you know, just a bitty nuances and the offense.
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: It's been really good and I just look forward to
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: more improvement.
- 1:13:50Speaker 15: Would have been your early impressions for working with Drake
- 1:13:52Speaker 15: May every.
- 1:13:54Speaker 24: Boys guy, very energetic and you know, all about ball
- 1:13:59Speaker 24: and you know that's just something I really appreciate with
- 1:14:02Speaker 24: it just being around him. Hemn man, I mean, he's
- 1:14:05Speaker 24: an amazing dude, amazing quarterback in this league. And like
- 1:14:09Speaker 24: I said, you know, I just look forward to just
- 1:14:12Speaker 24: continuously just building and understanding this offense just one day
- 1:14:18Speaker 24: at a time.
- 1:14:19Speaker 15: So you said, he love it here. What is it
- 1:14:21Speaker 15: about this situation that makes it a great fit for.
- 1:14:23Speaker 6: You to.
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: Long story short, just winning And there's a process within that.
- 1:14:33Speaker 24: So, I mean, I know I spent some time in
- 1:14:37Speaker 24: Green Bay and done, you know, did some you know,
- 1:14:41Speaker 24: solid stuff there just as a team and just you know,
- 1:14:47Speaker 24: part of my decision and coming here had a lot
- 1:14:49Speaker 24: to do with just the winning culture and I know
- 1:14:53Speaker 24: New England outside of just what Drake has going on
- 1:14:57Speaker 24: himself and coach Rabel, just the history that it brings.
- 1:15:02Speaker 4: So do you see Josh's offense perhaps enhancing your skill
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: set even more for bringing out more from you?
- 1:15:11Speaker 24: Yes, yes, you know, just being around them, being in
- 1:15:15Speaker 24: the system, understanding the system thus far.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: I can already see.
- 1:15:21Speaker 24: Just how he thinks offensively, and it's a completely different
- 1:15:26Speaker 24: mind to say. And obviously do you know that's just
- 1:15:31Speaker 24: that's something that you need as a player, just you know,
- 1:15:36Speaker 24: different game plans, different perspectives, different concepts, ways.
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: How to run routes. It's just something to see you.
- 1:15:46Speaker 2: I'm blessed to be around it.
- 1:15:48Speaker 15: Any similarities between the language that you're learning now and
- 1:15:51Speaker 15: what you had in Green Bay.
- 1:15:54Speaker 2: Very very different. Some some things little bit. It's just
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: you know, some concepts may be called this, but in
- 1:16:05Speaker 2: Green Bay emit this.
- 1:16:06Speaker 24: So I have to get used to leaving that alone
- 1:16:09Speaker 24: and then diving into It'll be out here.
- 1:16:12Speaker 15: So how's that process gone? Where are you at this
- 1:16:15Speaker 15: point with that?
- 1:16:17Speaker 24: Pretty it's pretty pretty solid. I mean, there is a
- 1:16:22Speaker 24: complication to everything I'll be realistic about it, but just
- 1:16:26Speaker 24: you know, just asking questions, continuing to figure out the
- 1:16:29Speaker 24: little things and just the way how this system works.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: I have the right people around me. I have Mac
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: around me.
- 1:16:35Speaker 24: I have you know, a great receiver, the Mario and
- 1:16:40Speaker 24: Kyle so, you know, and even Fton like those dudes
- 1:16:43Speaker 24: been you know, guiding me, showing me the way, just
- 1:16:46Speaker 24: how this system works.
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: And you know, I'm just blessed to be run those dudes.
- 1:16:49Speaker 6: Wide receivers you've watched in the film room who've played
- 1:16:53Speaker 6: in this offense in the past, that you've had particular
- 1:16:56Speaker 6: fun watching so.
- 1:16:57Speaker 24: Far, I'll be honest, I mean I have, but it's
- 1:17:07Speaker 24: you know, I mean, there's been a lot of great
- 1:17:09Speaker 24: players to run through this offense. Like I know Grnk
- 1:17:12Speaker 24: at some point was within this offense. I'm pretty sure.
- 1:17:19Speaker 24: I don't know that's that's the only guy so far.
- 1:17:23Speaker 24: I'll be honest, but I'm pretty sure just down the
- 1:17:26Speaker 24: road there's a lot of great dudes like excuse me,
- 1:17:30Speaker 24: I know Julian Edelman was also another dude that was
- 1:17:33Speaker 24: in the system. So again, it just comes down to
- 1:17:36Speaker 24: just continuously watching more tape just to keep gaining more
- 1:17:40Speaker 24: wisdom and understanding just by how this offense works.
- 1:17:43Speaker 15: You mentioned the Mario Duglas and Kyle Williams. What are
- 1:17:46Speaker 15: kind of your early impressions of those guys and what's
- 1:17:48Speaker 15: the family getting to work with them?
- 1:17:51Speaker 24: Very very outgoing dudes, but I mean the energy just
- 1:17:57Speaker 24: matches alone and someone like myself who really just don't
- 1:18:03Speaker 24: really say much, and then you have the Mario and
- 1:18:06Speaker 24: Kyle who's obviously very, like I said before, outgoing, and
- 1:18:14Speaker 24: it just you know, brings a balance to say. So,
- 1:18:18Speaker 24: I'm glad to be run up a lot.
- 1:18:20Speaker 25: Of rumors of some season about the Patriots acquiring kJ
- 1:18:23Speaker 25: Brown just as a fellow veteran receiver.
- 1:18:25Speaker 15: Just know how much do you respect him in his game?
- 1:18:28Speaker 24: I have a ton of respect for him. I mean,
- 1:18:32Speaker 24: he's been a dude in this league for quite a
- 1:18:34Speaker 24: long time. I understand that. You know, when he first
- 1:18:37Speaker 24: got in the league, Coach Rabel was his coach. So again,
- 1:18:43Speaker 24: I understand there's a lot of rumors going around like
- 1:18:47Speaker 24: if he's here, I'd love to have him here, and
- 1:18:49Speaker 24: if he isn't here, I'm still gonna wish him the
- 1:18:51Speaker 24: best because he's one of the guys in this league.
- 1:18:54Speaker 2: So you guys got Great Bay on the schedule.
- 1:18:57Speaker 15: Is that a game that you have circled in the
- 1:18:58Speaker 15: back of your mind is of one for you?
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: Nah man, I mean Green Bay took care of me.
- 1:19:07Speaker 24: You know, it wouldn't be a reason for me to
- 1:19:10Speaker 24: have that type of pressure against them, because again, my
- 1:19:14Speaker 24: career started there. They taught me, you know, the foundation
- 1:19:18Speaker 24: of football, how football works, situational football, you know, just
- 1:19:23Speaker 24: understanding complimentary football, how teams can be, like just the
- 1:19:27Speaker 24: overall game in general. You know, they showed me the
- 1:19:29Speaker 24: ropes in that area. And again I do know that
- 1:19:34Speaker 24: we played them this year. But no, it wouldn't It's
- 1:19:37Speaker 24: not even like that.
- 1:19:39Speaker 15: So you mentioned you'd love to have a j here
- 1:19:42Speaker 15: if you were to come here, how would you feel
- 1:19:45Speaker 15: if it changed your role at all, given maybe the
- 1:19:47Speaker 15: way you envisioned it when you signed with the team.
- 1:19:50Speaker 24: Actually no, I mean I was true to my word
- 1:19:52Speaker 24: when I came here that you know, there is no
- 1:19:56Speaker 24: number one guy in this offense. So well, whatever it
- 1:20:01Speaker 24: is I have to do, whether if it's playing into
- 1:20:04Speaker 24: the strength more or you know, playing on the backside
- 1:20:08Speaker 24: every here and now, or even having the wrong teams,
- 1:20:11Speaker 24: which I'm really familiar with because I've done it in
- 1:20:13Speaker 24: Green Bay also, so I'm open.
- 1:20:15Speaker 2: To all roads. That's just part of this league. You know.
- 1:20:17Speaker 24: The more you can do, the more you can do
- 1:20:21Speaker 24: for the team, the more you show for yourself. Just
- 1:20:23Speaker 24: things in that nature.
- 1:20:26Speaker 26: You mentioned have the Green Bay game circle, but the
- 1:20:28Speaker 26: schedule release as a whole, where you.
- 1:20:29Speaker 27: Kind of follow that throughout the day as things come out,
- 1:20:32Speaker 27: you just look it up Thursday night, Like, is that
- 1:20:34Speaker 27: something you follow along with? Okay, say that, I'm sorry
- 1:20:39Speaker 27: you could do you follow along with like all the
- 1:20:42Speaker 27: schedule release rumors and kind of look during the day
- 1:20:44Speaker 27: or do you just look at eight o'clock once it's
- 1:20:46Speaker 27: out and that's it.
- 1:20:48Speaker 24: Not really into the rumors, Like you know, if the
- 1:20:54Speaker 24: schedule comes out, it'll be very clear for me to
- 1:20:56Speaker 24: see just who our opponents are.
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: Just getting the edge there, you know, Just things of
- 1:21:02Speaker 2: that nature.
- 1:21:02Speaker 26: So Romeo, you mentioned you're paraphrasing here, you're a man
- 1:21:07Speaker 26: of few words. What what have you noticed about being
- 1:21:09Speaker 26: here in New England. That's just a different feeling for
- 1:21:12Speaker 26: you than anywhere else you've been.
- 1:21:14Speaker 2: Uh, it's just oh, that's a great question, man. I
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: would say just that the hunger and energy in general.
- 1:21:25Speaker 24: Like I knew coming here it would be a test
- 1:21:28Speaker 24: on my end prior to you know, being a part
- 1:21:31Speaker 24: of a team who was just in the super Bowl,
- 1:21:34Speaker 24: and it gives me an opportunity.
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: To understand you know, that grind.
- 1:21:40Speaker 24: I'm not to say that I don't have that, but
- 1:21:41Speaker 24: just the process to that, because I know everyone's goal,
- 1:21:45Speaker 24: all organizations goals just to go to the super Bowl,
- 1:21:48Speaker 24: and being a part of a team like this, you know,
- 1:21:53Speaker 24: catching up is one thing.
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: So you know, I'm getting into it.
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: What you're pre and now moments in history I think
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: is that tub that's in there. It's got a weigh
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: fifteen pounds.
- 1:22:08Speaker 8: It's enormous.
- 1:22:09Speaker 5: Did you see that.
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: That's like a that's like an ice.
- 1:22:11Speaker 8: Cream Starley Meghan Stallion.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: That's false.
- 1:22:15Speaker 8: Yeah, oh okay, I was trying. I was trying to
- 1:22:17Speaker 8: cut that off at the path.
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: I knew that was coming.
- 1:22:20Speaker 25: So I was going with the Megan with the giant
- 1:22:24Speaker 25: jug of ice cream challenge, you know, like how much
- 1:22:26Speaker 25: can you finish?
- 1:22:27Speaker 8: Could you finish the whole thing? Just just know that yes,
- 1:22:30Speaker 8: the answer a court no. If I wanted to, Yeah,
- 1:22:33Speaker 8: I could. I could handle a pint if I wanted
- 1:22:35Speaker 8: to the answer is yes, I.
- 1:22:37Speaker 7: Have to cut down on my ice cream because it
- 1:22:38Speaker 7: binds me up.
- 1:22:39Speaker 8: Yeah, studio, Oh, you came very close. You came very close. There,
- 1:22:47Speaker 8: ice cream binds him up.
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: That's another great moment from.
- 1:22:53Speaker 7: All right back here on Patriots on Film Today.
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: Five to five pass five hundred is the hotline podcast
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: at Patriots dot com is the email address. It's Evan, Paul, me,
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: Alex and Alex in the booth talking Patriots and everything else.
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: Christian had a good phone call and we have reaction.
- 1:23:08Speaker 4: Pat Naguam writes, and PAULI, kudos to you for forcing
- 1:23:11Speaker 4: Christian in La to hang up.
- 1:23:12Speaker 7: Whatever you did. We need more of it.
- 1:23:14Speaker 5: First, one of the best phone calls I've experienced.
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: Goodie, goodbye, Paul.
- 1:23:20Speaker 6: I just don't understand like that whole mentality, like we're
- 1:23:22Speaker 6: having a back and forth about something and we disagree
- 1:23:26Speaker 6: and you just hang out, Like I need that.
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: Jack in an arbor Earth to Paul, Earth to Paul
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: ground controlled the text that you have made contact with
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: an alien life from Los Angeles. The life form has
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: been detected attempting to communicate with you using a crude
- 1:23:40Speaker 4: form of proto language, maintained contact with the life form
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: as long as possible to enable ground control to determine
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: whether he has evil intentions. Yeah, I like the way
- 1:23:50Speaker 4: you read that, Uh Christian in La. Why do we
- 1:23:54Speaker 4: think this is from Nick in New York City? Why
- 1:23:57Speaker 4: do we think Cardi B Is the crazy one? If
- 1:23:59Speaker 4: she worked a way out of poverty in the Bronx
- 1:24:01Speaker 4: and eventually, through a hard work and high intelligence, became
- 1:24:04Speaker 4: a strong advocate for women and an award winning musical artist.
- 1:24:08Speaker 4: I do like Stefan Diggs. I think he's smart and charming,
- 1:24:10Speaker 4: but he's brought drama everywhere he goes.
- 1:24:13Speaker 5: Ballid, so we we pick on the women too much
- 1:24:17Speaker 5: in these relationships.
- 1:24:19Speaker 8: Like that's why I.
- 1:24:20Speaker 6: Kind of made the point of I think that's kind
- 1:24:22Speaker 6: of been Diggs's whole career. He's been around that, and
- 1:24:26Speaker 6: Cardi B Is only being a very small element rights
- 1:24:31Speaker 6: just the latest one.
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: Yeah, and she was the highest profile.
- 1:24:34Speaker 8: Oh by far.
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24:35Speaker 8: Everything the emailers said they might be.
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: Back together party is great too, Like she's not. I
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: don't know, like they didn't.
- 1:24:40Speaker 8: They've got a fight yesterday or something.
- 1:24:43Speaker 9: But then she tweeted about it and said what why
- 1:24:46Speaker 9: can't you crash out on your baby daddy, like just.
- 1:24:49Speaker 5: A little bit.
- 1:24:50Speaker 3: She pumped the brakes on it.
- 1:24:51Speaker 7: What happened to Nicki Minaj?
- 1:24:55Speaker 3: Yeah, her, well, her party have a feud going on.
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: Well, but that's a fair feud on Nicki mina part.
- 1:25:00Speaker 5: I feel like I've read a little bit about this feud,
- 1:25:02Speaker 5: and I like correct me if I'm wrong, Alex, But like,
- 1:25:05Speaker 5: wasn't this Like Nicki Minaj feels like her brand was
- 1:25:08Speaker 5: stolen by Cardi B. And like you think so yeah,
- 1:25:10Speaker 5: Like Nicki feels like she was like the first one,
- 1:25:12Speaker 5: even though like Little Kim was rim right, Like you
- 1:25:15Speaker 5: stole Little Kim's act and then everybody.
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: There's a room for everyone. They just put women against
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: each other and we should be.
- 1:25:20Speaker 5: But she has a point though, Like her music, Cardi
- 1:25:23Speaker 5: B's music basically is just what Nicki Minaj was doing
- 1:25:26Speaker 5: like ten years ago.
- 1:25:27Speaker 9: All I have to say about Cardi is that she
- 1:25:30Speaker 9: came to one of STEP's community events this year and
- 1:25:32Speaker 9: she could not have been more gracious with the fans.
- 1:25:34Speaker 9: She was getting swarmed. It was super chaotic. She took
- 1:25:37Speaker 9: pictures with everyone. She like was hugging people.
- 1:25:41Speaker 8: No, you didn't get one.
- 1:25:42Speaker 5: No, I'm not going to do that.
- 1:25:44Speaker 3: Unprofessional lost, unprofessional.
- 1:25:48Speaker 9: So but she was wonderful with the fans and at
- 1:25:51Speaker 9: this event, and like if I were her, I would
- 1:25:54Speaker 9: have been so overwhelmed and gotten hell out of there.
- 1:25:56Speaker 3: And she stayed way longer than she needed to. Shrugged
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: people babies, like the whole thing.
- 1:26:01Speaker 6: And that's was Diggs, you know, the whole The entirety
- 1:26:04Speaker 6: of Digs for the last year was some story similar
- 1:26:07Speaker 6: to that.
- 1:26:07Speaker 8: Yeah, he did everything. Yeah the team could have wanted.
- 1:26:12Speaker 4: Let's see just it in Crystal Lake, Illinois. I've been
- 1:26:15Speaker 4: listening for a long time, but I enjoyed last week's
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: show more than any off season shows so far. This
- 1:26:20Speaker 4: show does a great job missing mixing in life with football,
- 1:26:24Speaker 4: and it's one of the biggest reasons I enjoy the show.
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: My wife and I are expecting our first child in August.
- 1:26:29Speaker 8: Congratulations.
- 1:26:30Speaker 4: We're excited to be having a girl. She'll be the
- 1:26:33Speaker 4: first granddaughter on both sides of the family, so besides
- 1:26:35Speaker 4: being spoiled, any advice for new parents, you guys can give.
- 1:26:39Speaker 4: Her name will be Charlotte May and I'm wearing my
- 1:26:42Speaker 4: wife down to change it to May after Drake May.
- 1:26:46Speaker 4: If she says no, I'll just have to slip the
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: why in on the birth certificate when she's done with labor.
- 1:26:55Speaker 9: Gig's hometown, well, not his exact hometown, but yeah, that
- 1:26:58Speaker 9: is true, that's true.
- 1:26:59Speaker 7: Yes, sure, any advice for newborn So you can't, I can.
- 1:27:05Speaker 5: I mean, I was gonna say, only half of us
- 1:27:07Speaker 5: here has advice for that.
- 1:27:09Speaker 8: I don't really have any advice. No. I mean, it's
- 1:27:13Speaker 8: the greatest thing I would by far. It's the only
- 1:27:16Speaker 8: thing I've done that I'm really proud of is be
- 1:27:18Speaker 8: a parent, and I don't have I don't have any advice.
- 1:27:23Speaker 7: Look, my advice to any parent is do your best.
- 1:27:26Speaker 8: Do your best.
- 1:27:27Speaker 7: That's whatever happens with the kid. Don't blame yourself.
- 1:27:32Speaker 8: It's too late for that.
- 1:27:33Speaker 5: You know, I don't know about that.
- 1:27:35Speaker 7: Did you do your best?
- 1:27:36Speaker 8: I did do my I am I am. Stop taking
- 1:27:39Speaker 8: my best. I just stop kicking you.
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: Send the kid to the citadel. Put yourself on the back, right.
- 1:27:45Speaker 8: I told you, it's the only thing in life that
- 1:27:47Speaker 8: I'm truly proud of is being a parent.
- 1:27:50Speaker 5: Let them make mistakes.
- 1:27:51Speaker 3: Well, it's a nice kid too.
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: You gotta you gotta let Okay, you gotta let let
- 1:27:55Speaker 5: the kids. We gotta you gotta let us screw up
- 1:27:58Speaker 5: on our own, you know, like if you're like, I
- 1:28:01Speaker 5: feel like parents too much, they don't say every I.
- 1:28:04Speaker 7: Don't think you should let them do anything they want.
- 1:28:06Speaker 7: You need to give them guidance.
- 1:28:07Speaker 5: No, But I'm just saying, like, I just feel like
- 1:28:11Speaker 5: a lot of parents try to protect their kids from everything,
- 1:28:15Speaker 5: and there's just like sometimes in order for us to learn, you,
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: we have to mess up and do things for them.
- 1:28:23Speaker 5: Otherwise when we never learned from with that.
- 1:28:25Speaker 9: Like overly defending kids from like if a teacher has
- 1:28:28Speaker 9: a gripe with them, too many parents take.
- 1:28:31Speaker 3: The teachers side, or yeah, or even like above the
- 1:28:34Speaker 3: teacher side. That's what I meant to say. That's what
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: I meant to say.
- 1:28:37Speaker 6: We'd be on the opposite side of that. Automatically, we
- 1:28:40Speaker 6: would take the teacher side.
- 1:28:41Speaker 9: So I was on the beach with my family on
- 1:28:43Speaker 9: the Cape once and in Truro there's like these steep
- 1:28:46Speaker 9: cliffs and dunes and you're not supposed to climb on
- 1:28:48Speaker 9: the dunes because of erosion.
- 1:28:49Speaker 3: Everyone knows that.
- 1:28:50Speaker 9: My little cousin Jonathan, who's probably like six, he knew
- 1:28:54Speaker 9: he knew better, but he was effing.
- 1:28:56Speaker 8: Around on the dunes and did he find out?
- 1:28:58Speaker 9: And an older gentleman came over and was like came
- 1:29:02Speaker 9: to his father, my cousin Jason, and was like, hey,
- 1:29:05Speaker 9: your kid, like really shouldn't be doing that. And my
- 1:29:07Speaker 9: cousin Jason credit to him, said I want you to
- 1:29:10Speaker 9: tell him because I've told.
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: Him that a million times. He's not going to learn
- 1:29:12Speaker 3: from me. He's going to learn from society.
- 1:29:14Speaker 9: So he made this old man school six year old child,
- 1:29:17Speaker 9: and it was the best example of parenting like I've
- 1:29:20Speaker 9: ever seen, because I feel like that's a lost art.
- 1:29:23Speaker 8: I thought that that story was going in a different direction,
- 1:29:25Speaker 8: and I'm really glad that.
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll never forget it. He said, he's not going
- 1:29:31Speaker 3: to learn from me, He's going to learn from society.
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: And like my cousin Jason's just like.
- 1:29:35Speaker 9: This hilarious, like giant polish dude, like brute of a man,
- 1:29:40Speaker 9: but he's like pretty stoic in a really hilarious way.
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: So I don't know. That always stuck with me and
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: I was like, that's what I'm gonna do too.
- 1:29:46Speaker 4: Back in the day, parenting came from a lot of
- 1:29:48Speaker 4: different directions in like the neighborhood.
- 1:29:52Speaker 7: Everyone's parent, you.
- 1:29:53Speaker 5: Know police, Yeah, yeah, yeah, it should be like that
- 1:29:56Speaker 5: neighborhood police take the village right.
- 1:29:58Speaker 7: You have much chance of being yelled that by someone
- 1:30:00Speaker 7: else's parent as your own.
- 1:30:01Speaker 6: I would feel just as bad if I got caught
- 1:30:04Speaker 6: doing something wrong by my friend's parents as I would
- 1:30:08Speaker 6: my own, any of the neighbors, you know, but any
- 1:30:11Speaker 6: of the neighborhood people, because I like, I disappointed, not
- 1:30:14Speaker 6: just my parents, I disappointed your friend's parents is more Paramanicus.
- 1:30:18Speaker 8: In the o'keefes and the films. Of course, what they
- 1:30:24Speaker 8: don't let the last name to see you?
- 1:30:27Speaker 7: So advice, you know, check, just do your best.
- 1:30:34Speaker 5: I can't give any advice from a parent perspective, but
- 1:30:37Speaker 5: as someone that is still growing up, I feel like
- 1:30:41Speaker 5: I like that was the number one thing that I
- 1:30:44Speaker 5: would tell people, especially as the kids get older, and
- 1:30:47Speaker 5: like our young adults like whether it's professionally personally, like
- 1:30:52Speaker 5: we gotta we gotta figure out some things on our own,
- 1:30:55Speaker 5: Like you can't just like map out our whole lives
- 1:30:58Speaker 5: for us and expect it all to go perfect, and
- 1:31:00Speaker 5: you know it gotta we got to screw up sometimes
- 1:31:03Speaker 5: on our own, and that's how you learn from it,
- 1:31:05Speaker 5: because your parents aren't going to be around forever to
- 1:31:09Speaker 5: put you in the right direction. And I feel like,
- 1:31:11Speaker 5: you know, there's certain things that I did that when
- 1:31:13Speaker 5: I was younger that now I wouldn't do it ever
- 1:31:16Speaker 5: again because I learned from it. But nowadays I feel like,
- 1:31:19Speaker 5: you know, just looking at my cousins and stuff, like
- 1:31:21Speaker 5: their parents like if they are about to take a
- 1:31:24Speaker 5: step out of line, and they just push them right back,
- 1:31:26Speaker 5: and I'm like, well, yeah, at some point there.
- 1:31:29Speaker 8: There's a line. There's a fine line there. I know
- 1:31:31Speaker 8: what you're talking about.
- 1:31:32Speaker 7: I remember, I don't know how old I was, maybe
- 1:31:35Speaker 7: eighth grade or something like that.
- 1:31:38Speaker 8: Uh.
- 1:31:38Speaker 4: And it's at my grandmother's house in Providence, and all
- 1:31:43Speaker 4: the relatives were there, and we had a lot of
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: old relatives and they were kind of all lined up
- 1:31:47Speaker 4: in the living room sitting there and I was in
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: the middle and my uncle Armond said to me, he's
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: from Kranston.
- 1:31:53Speaker 7: He said, what do you want to be?
- 1:31:56Speaker 4: You know, I said, and I didn't. I kind of
- 1:31:59Speaker 4: put on the spot and I said, I want to
- 1:32:02Speaker 4: be a writer. He goes, oh, writer, He goes, you
- 1:32:05Speaker 4: don't be a writer, you just are. And I thought
- 1:32:09Speaker 4: about that and I'm like, oh, okay, how old were you,
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: like eighth grade?
- 1:32:12Speaker 8: Oh, it's old enough to understand.
- 1:32:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:32:15Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:32:16Speaker 5: But when I was that age, people were telling me like,
- 1:32:18Speaker 5: there was no way that I, like, I wanted to
- 1:32:20Speaker 5: work in sports since I was probably in the eighth
- 1:32:22Speaker 5: grade too, and so many people, so many adults along
- 1:32:26Speaker 5: the way, told me, there's no way that you're going
- 1:32:28Speaker 5: to make it in that industry, no chance.
- 1:32:32Speaker 9: I met with my my mom's accountant once to do
- 1:32:36Speaker 9: like my taxes when I first started working, to bring
- 1:32:38Speaker 9: my stuff over there, and he's like, oh, what are
- 1:32:40Speaker 9: you in college for? And I'm like journalism. He's like,
- 1:32:42Speaker 9: are there going to be any newspapers for you to
- 1:32:44Speaker 9: write for by the time you graduate?
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: And I wish, I.
- 1:32:46Speaker 9: Said, I don't know, but at least I won't be
- 1:32:48Speaker 9: an account I think about that day a lot.
- 1:32:52Speaker 5: I've had people, Oh, you'll be working little notes, take notes.
- 1:32:56Speaker 8: No, don't cross Allen.
- 1:32:58Speaker 5: You'll be working in like, you know, high schools in
- 1:33:01Speaker 5: North Dakota. You'll be doing this or you'll never be
- 1:33:05Speaker 5: able to like make it doing that.
- 1:33:07Speaker 7: And I will say it.
- 1:33:08Speaker 6: Will be a little different for every Alex at their
- 1:33:10Speaker 6: age because the people, the naysayers weren't overly wrong about
- 1:33:16Speaker 6: where it was going. For Fred and I, like for
- 1:33:20Speaker 6: me my whole life, it was like I wanted my
- 1:33:22Speaker 6: little picture in the paper as a columnist, like in
- 1:33:25Speaker 6: the sports. I wanted to be a sports columnist. That's
- 1:33:27Speaker 6: what I always wanted to be. But that was when
- 1:33:30Speaker 6: I was in high school. It was a very you know,
- 1:33:34Speaker 6: rational path to go on. You know, no one had
- 1:33:37Speaker 6: any idea the Internet was going to come in fifteen
- 1:33:40Speaker 6: years and completely make this all obsolete, which is what happened.
- 1:33:45Speaker 9: And because there were still columns, but then you had
- 1:33:49Speaker 9: like the Bill Simmons doing the blogs, and you had
- 1:33:52Speaker 9: like the barstool sports, like it was starting to go
- 1:33:54Speaker 9: pretty rogue.
- 1:33:55Speaker 8: So it was like just another reason.
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: I actually a lot of different.
- 1:33:59Speaker 17: Reason.
- 1:34:00Speaker 8: Bill Simmons a lot of credit for being ahead of
- 1:34:01Speaker 8: the current.
- 1:34:02Speaker 4: You're compared to our landscape. Your landscape was like is
- 1:34:05Speaker 4: Mars Ours was completely different?
- 1:34:08Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I know, I hear. Like, you know a
- 1:34:10Speaker 5: lot of people.
- 1:34:11Speaker 3: Say it's more competitive, maybe more competitive.
- 1:34:14Speaker 5: You should like go and cover like high school sports
- 1:34:16Speaker 5: and like go that direction. And I don't necessarily disagree
- 1:34:20Speaker 5: that that's a great direction to go in because I'm
- 1:34:22Speaker 5: sure you learn a lot. But unfortunately, those jobs in
- 1:34:24Speaker 5: this industry don't exist anymore, especially not full time. Like
- 1:34:28Speaker 5: so if you want to go make you know, fifty
- 1:34:30Speaker 5: bucks for writing a high school sports thing, then fine,
- 1:34:33Speaker 5: but you know, nowadays, like unfortunately, like or fortunately, for
- 1:34:37Speaker 5: better or worse, like, you have to make your own
- 1:34:39Speaker 5: brand well.
- 1:34:40Speaker 7: And I would also say, in this industry, you have
- 1:34:43Speaker 7: to be willing to move. You can't. You can't, like
- 1:34:46Speaker 7: expect to get a job in Boston, you got to
- 1:34:49Speaker 7: go to you got to go to Nebraska.
- 1:34:52Speaker 8: Unless you just want to stay.
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: I never had to leave.
- 1:34:55Speaker 9: I thought I would have to to break into Boston,
- 1:34:58Speaker 9: and I'm not really lucky, but I did go that
- 1:35:00Speaker 9: high school sports route, and I was out in the
- 1:35:02Speaker 9: Berkshires covering high school football.
- 1:35:06Speaker 8: We were willing to move around.
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: You had to move to Los Angeles.
- 1:35:10Speaker 5: I had to. I moved. I lived in LA and
- 1:35:12Speaker 5: I lived in New York City. But both of those things,
- 1:35:15Speaker 5: you know, LA, I think was more like that was
- 1:35:18Speaker 5: like a dream of mine to live out in California,
- 1:35:21Speaker 5: and I wasn't ready to like be back with my
- 1:35:24Speaker 5: family and like I needed to spread my wings a
- 1:35:26Speaker 5: little bit. But uh, I feel like a lot of people,
- 1:35:30Speaker 5: you know, just in my world, like I, you know,
- 1:35:34Speaker 5: it's like me and Barth and like Taylor, like we
- 1:35:37Speaker 5: all like kind of just did it. Like we just
- 1:35:40Speaker 5: like made our own thing and made our own brand
- 1:35:42Speaker 5: and started tweeting and you know, covering things like a
- 1:35:47Speaker 5: reporter on social media, and like you just kind of
- 1:35:50Speaker 5: organically just like rise up from that. Whereas back in
- 1:35:54Speaker 5: the day, I feel like it was you had to
- 1:35:57Speaker 5: sit on a desk and add some calls at night
- 1:35:59Speaker 5: from and the scores from the you know, high school
- 1:36:02Speaker 5: sports games like that. Unfortunately that doesn't exist as much anymore.
- 1:36:06Speaker 4: And the other thing I will give advice to these
- 1:36:09Speaker 4: young kids, once you get to college, I don't care
- 1:36:14Speaker 4: about your grades. It's what you do extracurriculares actually make
- 1:36:19Speaker 4: a difference on your resume. Doesn't matter what courses you
- 1:36:22Speaker 4: not even your degree, it's what did you do what
- 1:36:26Speaker 4: I didn't want to say internships, but what groups were
- 1:36:29Speaker 4: you part of? What other things did you do part
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: of the school but not outside of the classroom.
- 1:36:37Speaker 9: Yeah, I feel like it is one of those rare
- 1:36:39Speaker 9: industries left where like maybe who you know makes a.
- 1:36:42Speaker 3: Difference, but it's god like, of course it does.
- 1:36:45Speaker 9: But also like it's still a meritocracy, Like my cousin
- 1:36:50Speaker 9: could want a job and just because he's my cousin,
- 1:36:52Speaker 9: he's not going to get it if he can't write
- 1:36:53Speaker 9: really well, like it'll help you, but if the work
- 1:36:56Speaker 9: doesn't show for it.
- 1:36:57Speaker 6: Talked about how it's you know, maybe competitive, and I
- 1:37:01Speaker 6: would say, like, it's a very competitive field, there's no doubting,
- 1:37:05Speaker 6: but it's so different. There are so many more jobs
- 1:37:09Speaker 6: now now they're not all the most lucrative jobs, but
- 1:37:14Speaker 6: the amount of people doing content you know, videos, video production, colleges,
- 1:37:22Speaker 6: sid departments are always they're hyping up this stuff didn't
- 1:37:25Speaker 6: really exist now that didn't exist, you know, twenty years.
- 1:37:27Speaker 9: Ago, and now it's merging into industries that wouldn't like
- 1:37:30Speaker 9: really otherwise have it. Like you have clothing brands building
- 1:37:34Speaker 9: out content teams, you know, like they're not going to
- 1:37:36Speaker 9: external ad agencies anymore. They want their own in house
- 1:37:40Speaker 9: stuff that's more organic and storytelling and connecting to their communities.
- 1:37:44Speaker 4: So yep, all right, So earlier when we were talking
- 1:37:48Speaker 4: about the whole streaming thing. And we got a ton
- 1:37:50Speaker 4: of emails about that.
- 1:37:51Speaker 8: So there's anybody going to be making me feel better about.
- 1:37:55Speaker 4: I don't know, but Alex in New York says, the
- 1:37:57Speaker 4: future of streaming is IPTV. I got sick of paying
- 1:38:00Speaker 4: for cable and all the streaming services. I pay for
- 1:38:03Speaker 4: Internet access and eleven dollars a month for literally every
- 1:38:07Speaker 4: cable channel, every movie channel, every NBC ABC affiliate in
- 1:38:12Speaker 4: the country, pretty much any show from any streaming service, Netflix, Apple, HBO, Max,
- 1:38:19Speaker 4: the new movies as soon as they come out for rent.
- 1:38:21Speaker 7: Best decision I ever made. So what's it called.
- 1:38:24Speaker 4: It's called IPTV, Like what IPTV is?
- 1:38:28Speaker 7: Internet Protocol TV? But what is the name of the service?
- 1:38:32Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 1:38:33Speaker 8: What do you need to purchase something?
- 1:38:36Speaker 7: I would imagine, he says eleven bucks a month.
- 1:38:38Speaker 8: No, that that's intriguing to me.
- 1:38:39Speaker 7: Yeah, I know, but you know, so.
- 1:38:42Speaker 4: Alex in New York, we need more information the follow up,
- 1:38:48Speaker 4: Oh but it does still follow up? Doesn't think I
- 1:38:51Speaker 4: forgot to mention. I get every sports network and sports game,
- 1:38:54Speaker 4: including every Patriots game.
- 1:38:56Speaker 7: In New York, plus international sports as well.
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: He still doesn't tell it looks like it is just
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: called IPTV.
- 1:39:02Speaker 8: Like there's dollars cost to install? Yeah, then eleven dollars
- 1:39:08Speaker 8: a month.
- 1:39:09Speaker 4: All right, IPTV may we'll have to look at it.
- 1:39:12Speaker 8: I'm very intrigued. Huh it's assuming it's legal.
- 1:39:19Speaker 7: Yeah, well you're looking at it on in the app store.
- 1:39:23Speaker 3: I'm in the Apple Store.
- 1:39:24Speaker 23: Yeah.
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: Reviews are great. I was skeptical at first.
- 1:39:30Speaker 4: I decided there's got to be something going on here.
- 1:39:33Speaker 4: Can you watch it on your TV or is it
- 1:39:35Speaker 4: just on your phone?
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: I imagine if.
- 1:39:38Speaker 9: You have a subscription, you have like a password, and
- 1:39:41Speaker 9: you can probably go on a smart TV download the app,
- 1:39:44Speaker 9: just like you can download it on your phone or
- 1:39:45Speaker 9: your iPad.
- 1:39:46Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:39:47Speaker 8: Give me the eyeball emoji in real life?
- 1:39:49Speaker 7: I don't know. Uh, Bill and San Diego.
- 1:39:52Speaker 4: I haven't paid for cable in a dozen years, and
- 1:39:54Speaker 4: I have never paid for a premium streaming service. There
- 1:39:58Speaker 4: are streaming boxes that are out there. You pay for
- 1:40:00Speaker 4: the box, which is about two hundred to two hundred
- 1:40:02Speaker 4: and fifty. Then every year you've renewed the live service
- 1:40:05Speaker 4: and you get every sporting event, every TV show at
- 1:40:09Speaker 4: free on any channel you want. HBO, blah, blah blah,
- 1:40:12Speaker 4: blah blah, you name it.
- 1:40:13Speaker 7: In every movie.
- 1:40:14Speaker 4: You can access any local TV network, so you can
- 1:40:17Speaker 4: access Boise NBC or New Orleans ABC. I usually access
- 1:40:22Speaker 4: to Portland or Boston stations. I haven't missed the Patriots
- 1:40:25Speaker 4: bruined Celtics or Red Sox game in over twelve years.
- 1:40:28Speaker 7: You guys should look into it.
- 1:40:31Speaker 5: I have heard just burst above.
- 1:40:33Speaker 3: I have herb TV is not legal. It's called pirate.
- 1:40:36Speaker 7: Yeah, I have heard. How is it in the Yeah,
- 1:40:39Speaker 7: they're supposed to.
- 1:40:40Speaker 3: Minors have the same question.
- 1:40:43Speaker 7: I don't want anything illegal.
- 1:40:45Speaker 5: They sound fishy.
- 1:40:46Speaker 8: That's my point.
- 1:40:47Speaker 6: And it's not because I'm like, believe me, I'm more
- 1:40:50Speaker 6: than willing to push an la now. I'm just it's
- 1:40:53Speaker 6: not like I'm a higher being. So I just I
- 1:40:56Speaker 6: just feel like I'm the one guy that will get caught.
- 1:40:58Speaker 6: If one person gets caught, it'll be none.
- 1:41:00Speaker 3: How I felt like stealing music off LimeWire in my childhood,
- 1:41:04Speaker 3: Like people are getting like, kno.
- 1:41:07Speaker 7: I'll give you a funny one on the lengths of
- 1:41:09Speaker 7: people go to save a buck.
- 1:41:11Speaker 4: So my latest wormhole that I'm in in YouTube is
- 1:41:14Speaker 4: like the whole Disney stuff, Like Disney hacks like twelve
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: things you should do in Disney, ten things you should
- 1:41:20Speaker 4: never you know, all that shit. Yeah anyway, anyway, so
- 1:41:26Speaker 4: I saw one. You know, these are you know, the
- 1:41:29Speaker 4: ten things ten secrets that people don't know about Disney.
- 1:41:32Speaker 4: And one is when you're in a resort, you get
- 1:41:35Speaker 4: this cup and the cup is unlimited refills for the
- 1:41:38Speaker 4: time that you're at the resort. But there's one hack
- 1:41:43Speaker 4: that person once but you have to pay extra something
- 1:41:46Speaker 4: like that to get it.
- 1:41:48Speaker 7: You get the food plan. So this one guy says,
- 1:41:51Speaker 7: this is what people don't know.
- 1:41:52Speaker 4: You make a reservation for the first night at the
- 1:41:55Speaker 4: cheapest hotel like Pop, you know, Disney Pop or whatever,
- 1:42:00Speaker 4: and you get the cup, and then after the first
- 1:42:02Speaker 4: night you change your reservation to another resort that you
- 1:42:04Speaker 4: really want to stand, but you get to keep the cup.
- 1:42:06Speaker 7: It's like, Okay, I'm gonna go do all this stuff
- 1:42:09Speaker 7: for free soda? Are you kidding me? Oh?
- 1:42:12Speaker 5: Love that? What do you mean? Right up Paul's alley? Well, no,
- 1:42:16Speaker 5: you get the free soda.
- 1:42:17Speaker 7: For a week.
- 1:42:18Speaker 5: But to me, that's like marginal not worth.
- 1:42:21Speaker 6: Yeah, the juice isn't worth, right, I just like I
- 1:42:26Speaker 6: was about to say the whole Disney adult thing.
- 1:42:28Speaker 7: I love it, Like.
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: I didn't consider you a Disney adult either.
- 1:42:34Speaker 8: He's borderline.
- 1:42:35Speaker 3: It's not like his own whole personality, though people make
- 1:42:38Speaker 3: it their whole.
- 1:42:39Speaker 5: I saw my sister's whole personality, and she has a
- 1:42:41Speaker 5: three year old now, so it's like a little bit
- 1:42:43Speaker 5: more acceptable than But there's a time there where I
- 1:42:46Speaker 5: was like, we're we're teetering on the whole Disney adult thing,
- 1:42:50Speaker 5: and I'm not for it.
- 1:42:51Speaker 6: So we were talking about like impressions and stuff like
- 1:42:54Speaker 6: before Evan got here earlier in the show, and Evan
- 1:42:56Speaker 6: was said he was worried about you know how I
- 1:42:58Speaker 6: was get like, for whatever, I'm flattered that he actually
- 1:43:01Speaker 6: gave me any thought. But one of the things, and
- 1:43:04Speaker 6: I didn't know a whole lot about Evan. I knew
- 1:43:06Speaker 6: Evan when he covered the team before he worked here.
- 1:43:08Speaker 6: But one of the things that I'm really stunted by.
- 1:43:12Speaker 6: One of the things I'm really stunts by. I think
- 1:43:14Speaker 6: that's funny is how much you're into and know about
- 1:43:18Speaker 6: the whole rap game and you know that whole Like
- 1:43:21Speaker 6: I just thought he's a straight laced football guy, and.
- 1:43:24Speaker 7: That's like, actually how he gets his street credit actually,
- 1:43:28Speaker 7: like he.
- 1:43:29Speaker 5: Just bought tickets to uh Chance the rapper at MGM
- 1:43:33Speaker 5: Kendrick Lamar.
- 1:43:34Speaker 6: Like he's like, you know, none of this new stuff,
- 1:43:36Speaker 6: and like he starts talking about you know, old school
- 1:43:40Speaker 6: Kendrick and as opposed to this and that. I actually
- 1:43:42Speaker 6: someone was talking about Ja Cole the other day and
- 1:43:44Speaker 6: I go, I know, Jacob goes. The guy looked at me,
- 1:43:46Speaker 6: He's like.
- 1:43:47Speaker 8: You know j Cole, Like yah, that's one of my
- 1:43:49Speaker 8: sons first ones.
- 1:43:50Speaker 6: Like I felt like, if I'm the guy in the
- 1:43:53Speaker 6: room that knows what we're talking about, this is bad.
- 1:43:55Speaker 8: We have an out of touch crew.
- 1:43:57Speaker 5: But actually, unfortunately my favor how Much Every all the Time,
- 1:44:01Speaker 5: is now canceled. So but he played a show in
- 1:44:04Speaker 5: LA recently and he actually played like the set list
- 1:44:09Speaker 5: was unbelievable, Like yeah, he just like went and played
- 1:44:12Speaker 5: all of his actual music. And I it's very I'm
- 1:44:17Speaker 5: very on the fence about it because I am Jewish
- 1:44:19Speaker 5: and he has not done a lot of very nice
- 1:44:21Speaker 5: things to Jewish people. But if but if he's gonna
- 1:44:24Speaker 5: go on tour and he's gonna play like like the actual.
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: Hits, the graduation registration.
- 1:44:31Speaker 5: It's hard it would be hard for me not to go.
- 1:44:33Speaker 4: Alex writes in again, I use an app that I
- 1:44:36Speaker 4: downloaded for free on my firestick is called Players Entertainment.
- 1:44:40Speaker 5: That doesn't sound that sounds like extremes.
- 1:44:43Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:44:44Speaker 4: Colin though, says that, just to follow up about IBTV,
- 1:44:48Speaker 4: I'm from Scotland, Scutin, and I use it. We pay
- 1:44:51Speaker 4: sixty to eighty. I guess that's pounds. They have pounds
- 1:44:56Speaker 4: in euros. No, that's not the euros sounds. I think
- 1:44:59Speaker 4: it's pounds sixty to eighty of whatever he does a year.
- 1:45:03Speaker 4: It's illegal, but there's so much content all and I
- 1:45:06Speaker 4: get NBC Sports Boston over here that makes it worthwhile.
- 1:45:09Speaker 3: We're gonna get a season desist.
- 1:45:11Speaker 7: We're not doing it, We're just maybe we're helping out.
- 1:45:15Speaker 5: So there's a I don't know if it still exists
- 1:45:17Speaker 5: because I don't go on these waters. But there's this
- 1:45:19Speaker 5: thing called Stream East that was like you could get
- 1:45:22Speaker 5: all the NBA games on Stream East, and Lebron actually
- 1:45:25Speaker 5: like said that he watches games on Stream East, and
- 1:45:28Speaker 5: it like blew up at one point. I don't know
- 1:45:30Speaker 5: if I think they did shut it down eventually, So
- 1:45:33Speaker 5: now now it's back again. But that's like the big
- 1:45:35Speaker 5: one I know for for the NB and no imagine that.
- 1:45:40Speaker 5: And so the commissioner came out and they were talking
- 1:45:42Speaker 5: about the ratings and he's like, well, we don't have
- 1:45:44Speaker 5: a way to calculate who the illegal streams, so like
- 1:45:48Speaker 5: if all these people that we're watching on these illegal streams,
- 1:45:51Speaker 5: then like, let's also keep in mind that that's part
- 1:45:54Speaker 5: of the rating and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:45:58Speaker 7: Rights in.
- 1:45:59Speaker 4: So if you subscribe to every streaming service under the sun,
- 1:46:02Speaker 4: you might approach the cost of getting Comcast or whatever
- 1:46:05Speaker 4: cable package. But what you are not accounting for is
- 1:46:08Speaker 4: that for most premium choices you get in streaming, like HBO,
- 1:46:12Speaker 4: you need to pay extra in cable or satellite.
- 1:46:15Speaker 7: That's true, we know that.
- 1:46:16Speaker 8: I agree.
- 1:46:17Speaker 4: Also, if you have Amazon Prime, you get Amazon Network
- 1:46:20Speaker 4: for free, and some phone carriers come with Hulu, ESPN
- 1:46:24Speaker 4: and Disney Plus, so you don't have to pay for
- 1:46:26Speaker 4: that's true. You know I have Amazon Prime and so
- 1:46:29Speaker 4: I get Amazon right. Basically, corded is more expensive, mainly
- 1:46:33Speaker 4: because you can get the base cable package with YouTube
- 1:46:37Speaker 4: TV or Fubo for fraction of the cost of the
- 1:46:39Speaker 4: cable satellite packages eighty five bucks or so, and like
- 1:46:43Speaker 4: Evan said, you can take your services on the road
- 1:46:46Speaker 4: and you can even pause them for a period of
- 1:46:48Speaker 4: time if you don't think you'll use them for a
- 1:46:50Speaker 4: period of you can take Yeah, you can watch it.
- 1:46:53Speaker 7: You can do that now the certain channels, though, you
- 1:46:55Speaker 7: can if you don't have Wi Fi.
- 1:46:56Speaker 8: Now you know that I don't, but you can't.
- 1:46:59Speaker 3: The typothetic I think I wanted to.
- 1:47:02Speaker 5: I still think that at its core, consuming sports, you
- 1:47:06Speaker 5: still need to have like some sort of cable adjacent
- 1:47:10Speaker 5: thing like live sports. It's still the best thing to
- 1:47:13Speaker 5: have cable of some sort. If you're like a show streamer,
- 1:47:18Speaker 5: Like if all you're caring about is that you want
- 1:47:20Speaker 5: to watch like, you know, the TV shows on streaming
- 1:47:23Speaker 5: or whatever, then you don't necessarily.
- 1:47:24Speaker 4: But they say they watch every he hasn't missed a
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: you know, a Boss of sports uh game, and wasn't bundles.
- 1:47:33Speaker 9: With like Wi Fi and cable though, because everyone needs
- 1:47:36Speaker 9: to pay for internet, right, So it's like that no matter, that's.
- 1:47:40Speaker 6: Not a part of the cable thing because it is
- 1:47:42Speaker 6: all bundles. That's why a lot of people still have
- 1:47:44Speaker 6: landlines because originally it was a three way bundle with
- 1:47:48Speaker 6: your phone, your internet, and your cable.
- 1:47:50Speaker 7: They make you take the landline, right, I don't even
- 1:47:54Speaker 7: know my number I have a landline? I haven't.
- 1:47:57Speaker 8: I haven't literally since like that, we get all kinds
- 1:48:01Speaker 8: of crap.
- 1:48:01Speaker 9: Oh no, getting their people on tiknok are getting landlines
- 1:48:05Speaker 9: for their children to communicate with their friends, like middle school.
- 1:48:08Speaker 3: Age, because they don't want to get them. All their
- 1:48:11Speaker 3: other friends are calling each other, so they're getting landlines.
- 1:48:14Speaker 8: Again, that makes a lot of sense.
- 1:48:16Speaker 4: Sean and Petaluma, Evan can break down Cardi B and
- 1:48:18Speaker 4: Nicki Minaj f yet has doubts about the moon landing
- 1:48:21Speaker 4: and Elvis.
- 1:48:22Speaker 5: What world it's true?
- 1:48:24Speaker 8: But that kind of illustrates what I was talking about.
- 1:48:26Speaker 6: Evan just very intelligently broke down the Cardi B Nicki
- 1:48:30Speaker 6: Minaj like I wouldn't.
- 1:48:32Speaker 8: I wouldn't have had.
- 1:48:32Speaker 5: That camera work. Nicki Minaj's verse on Monster is the
- 1:48:37Speaker 5: best verse.
- 1:48:37Speaker 7: What about megade Stallion like like fine but.
- 1:48:42Speaker 5: Not my cup of Yeah, big drama with her and
- 1:48:45Speaker 5: what's his name? Clay Thompson Thompson.
- 1:48:48Speaker 7: Wow, Audrey says.
- 1:48:52Speaker 4: I'm going to call him play Audrey. She has fred
- 1:48:55Speaker 4: exclamation point. Great discussion of parenting, but you must have
- 1:48:58Speaker 4: totally overwhelmed the guy who asked about advice with a newborn.
- 1:49:02Speaker 4: He certainly wasn't ready for advice on jobs, detachment from home,
- 1:49:05Speaker 4: and making mistakes on your own as a young adult.
- 1:49:08Speaker 4: My advice enjoy your child at each age because it
- 1:49:11Speaker 4: passes quickly, and support your partner emotionally.
- 1:49:15Speaker 7: Get some sleep when you can.
- 1:49:18Speaker 3: To your child too.
- 1:49:19Speaker 4: Yeah, let the kid cry, be more worried. If they
- 1:49:22Speaker 4: cry a lot and then they stop, that's when you
- 1:49:24Speaker 4: need to be worried.
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: But let him cry.
- 1:49:27Speaker 7: Just get the noise canceling head.
- 1:49:31Speaker 2: Is you know.
- 1:49:35Speaker 4: So one thing I was told, and I think my
- 1:49:38Speaker 4: wife made this mistake, don't let the kids sleep with
- 1:49:41Speaker 4: you in your bed.
- 1:49:43Speaker 5: Don't do that with your dog either.
- 1:49:44Speaker 8: We didn't fall into that one.
- 1:49:46Speaker 5: Yeah, never get that dog out of the.
- 1:49:49Speaker 7: Our dog sleeps in the bed.
- 1:49:51Speaker 5: On the dog's in the bed.
- 1:49:52Speaker 8: That's it.
- 1:49:53Speaker 7: Although I noticed to stop it.
- 1:49:54Speaker 4: There's a certain time, like at around eleven o'clock he
- 1:49:57Speaker 4: gets up and goes into his create.
- 1:49:59Speaker 5: Yeah everyone, which, yeah, Alice will if he's hot usually
- 1:50:03Speaker 5: get hot and he'll he'll go lay on the couch
- 1:50:06Speaker 5: or on the floor or whatever. But once we once
- 1:50:10Speaker 5: you start with the dog in the bed there, good
- 1:50:12Speaker 5: luck you ain't getting that thing out. He's he's there,
- 1:50:15Speaker 5: and you got.
- 1:50:15Speaker 7: A big dog.
- 1:50:16Speaker 5: He's a big boy.
- 1:50:17Speaker 7: Do you have a king sized bed?
- 1:50:18Speaker 8: I wish? No.
- 1:50:19Speaker 7: Wow, So that takes up a lot of space. How
- 1:50:21Speaker 7: do you deal with that? Who rules the bed? The dog?
- 1:50:27Speaker 5: I mean he's sleep ninety pounds, so he lays the
- 1:50:32Speaker 5: bed or like right in between you usually like between
- 1:50:35Speaker 5: but like between our legs, like so like he doesn't
- 1:50:38Speaker 5: sleep like up it in our faces still like your.
- 1:50:40Speaker 7: Legs can't move around and drive me crazy. I mean,
- 1:50:44Speaker 7: now I'm a thrasher, you know, I move a lot.
- 1:50:47Speaker 5: You just get used to it, like like now that's
- 1:50:49Speaker 5: our normal.
- 1:50:50Speaker 8: Yeah, so you need to rotate shoulders Yeah, me too.
- 1:50:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:50:55Speaker 5: Yeah, No, I don't know.
- 1:50:56Speaker 7: I don't I don't have a good Gillow update. I
- 1:50:59Speaker 7: I really like it.
- 1:51:01Speaker 8: Oh good the YouTube channel.
- 1:51:03Speaker 7: No, No, we've already talked about it.
- 1:51:04Speaker 4: I figured out that it feels like a combination of
- 1:51:11Speaker 4: down gel and air if you can imagine that.
- 1:51:15Speaker 7: That's not what it is, but that's what it feels like.
- 1:51:19Speaker 3: And does it stay cool?
- 1:51:20Speaker 7: Yes?
- 1:51:22Speaker 8: I don't know what.
- 1:51:25Speaker 7: I tell you what it feels like, So I'm I'm
- 1:51:27Speaker 7: liking this pillow.
- 1:51:30Speaker 3: Friend kurset standbou approval.
- 1:51:33Speaker 4: Dustin writes in the off season is always tough for
- 1:51:36Speaker 4: me because it's just a reminder of how far away
- 1:51:38Speaker 4: the season is. And I don't have any football questions
- 1:51:40Speaker 4: right now, but I'm here to make three way too
- 1:51:43Speaker 4: early predictions or projections that I think will happen. Number one,
- 1:51:48Speaker 4: Romandre will have another eleven hundred yard season. Number two
- 1:51:52Speaker 4: Gabe Acus will have a double digit sacks his rookie season.
- 1:51:57Speaker 7: I'm an Illinois bias uh. And number three.
- 1:52:00Speaker 4: Drake May will throw for five thousand yards, forty touchdowns
- 1:52:04Speaker 4: and only eight of deceptions.
- 1:52:05Speaker 5: Wow, I don't think very many quarterbacks threw for five
- 1:52:09Speaker 5: thousand last year of.
- 1:52:09Speaker 8: Any I don't think anything.
- 1:52:11Speaker 7: Yeah, Peyton Manning the last one.
- 1:52:14Speaker 5: I don't know I done it. I don't think last
- 1:52:17Speaker 5: year there were I don't.
- 1:52:17Speaker 8: Think anybody through for five last year.
- 1:52:20Speaker 7: And also wants to know, finally, what is all of
- 1:52:23Speaker 7: our favorite.
- 1:52:24Speaker 3: Candy peanut Eminem's and turtles?
- 1:52:30Speaker 5: Right now?
- 1:52:30Speaker 6: It's jelly bellies and I'm enjoy kit cat Reese's twigs.
- 1:52:38Speaker 8: I like all of those.
- 1:52:40Speaker 5: I used to be a kit cat guy, but now
- 1:52:43Speaker 5: more like sour candies, sour.
- 1:52:44Speaker 8: Pasts like those. Also, those are good.
- 1:52:47Speaker 6: I got a bag of like mini kit cats at
- 1:52:50Speaker 6: the airport in Rome, m hm, just because we wanted
- 1:52:53Speaker 6: Beth and I wanted to see what they taste.
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: They're not good, They're not.
- 1:52:57Speaker 8: Bad, but they definitely do not taste as good as
- 1:52:59Speaker 8: it was here.
- 1:53:00Speaker 3: Yeah, those chemicals we got here, got to eat.
- 1:53:03Speaker 5: Those chemicals make it good clean.
- 1:53:05Speaker 4: And you didn't do any fast food when you were there,
- 1:53:07Speaker 4: because it's always good to compare to.
- 1:53:09Speaker 8: No, I did have.
- 1:53:10Speaker 9: I got roasted for going to the German McDonald's, but
- 1:53:12Speaker 9: I thought I thought it was anthropology I was doing.
- 1:53:15Speaker 8: Yeah, don't you think that take you for your service?
- 1:53:18Speaker 7: Don't you think that their service was upgraded from here?
- 1:53:21Speaker 9: Yes, it was awesome and the quality was so much better.
- 1:53:24Speaker 9: I went and it was the most beautiful.
- 1:53:26Speaker 8: McDonald's Japan was one of the best, like beef, probably.
- 1:53:34Speaker 5: McDonald's in London, I think about it. We went in London. Uh,
- 1:53:39Speaker 5: I don't remember it being any better worse, to be honest, really,
- 1:53:45Speaker 5: it was also.
- 1:53:45Speaker 8: So I didn't the closest. I got a burger at
- 1:53:49Speaker 8: the airport when we left from the place in airplace.
- 1:53:55Speaker 8: It wasn't fast food, it was it was kind of
- 1:53:59Speaker 8: like a Wallberg, but it was just okay. Yeah, I
- 1:54:04Speaker 8: didn't you.
- 1:54:05Speaker 6: Know, No, I don't know if that's because it was
- 1:54:06Speaker 6: airport or but I definitely felt like it didn't have
- 1:54:11Speaker 6: as much flavor.
- 1:54:13Speaker 4: Let's see more streaming stuff. Uh, this is from Colt
- 1:54:17Speaker 4: in Shreveport.
- 1:54:18Speaker 2: Cool.
- 1:54:19Speaker 4: MLB does something not terrible. I'm able to just watch
- 1:54:23Speaker 4: the Red Sox for a set price per season. Definitely
- 1:54:26Speaker 4: not worth it this year, if hypothetic, although they won
- 1:54:29Speaker 4: last night three to one.
- 1:54:30Speaker 7: Good good job guys.
- 1:54:32Speaker 8: Love your friends really passionate.
- 1:54:34Speaker 7: You know, I just sweating it out.
- 1:54:36Speaker 5: You're sweating it out. Yeah, I we will ask it
- 1:54:39Speaker 5: half an inning.
- 1:54:41Speaker 7: I watch him at all.
- 1:54:42Speaker 8: It's just no Fred, He's not He's fair Weather. Guys.
- 1:54:45Speaker 8: I don't like his childhood, but he just rooted.
- 1:54:47Speaker 5: For fair Weather because I keep track of what if
- 1:54:50Speaker 5: you know, they won or lost or whatever. But like
- 1:54:53Speaker 5: I put it on every night watching Bad Baseball. I
- 1:54:56Speaker 5: think out of all four of the sports, watching Bad
- 1:54:58Speaker 5: Baseball as the worst.
- 1:54:59Speaker 7: Son Gray pitched well last night.
- 1:55:01Speaker 6: They pitched fine, I put you in every game just
- 1:55:03Speaker 6: to find out, just to see enough of what happened.
- 1:55:06Speaker 6: So if, like I'm on one of my shows, I
- 1:55:08Speaker 6: can intelligently talk about that.
- 1:55:10Speaker 5: The pitching has not been the issue. They score three
- 1:55:12Speaker 5: or more round now there, it's a shame.
- 1:55:14Speaker 7: What's going on? Yeah, Shreveport.
- 1:55:16Speaker 4: Shreport also says, if hypothetically NFL red Zone costs one
- 1:55:20Speaker 4: hundred bucks a year, I'm willing to spend forty five
- 1:55:23Speaker 4: to fifty for just the Patriots, especially living outside of
- 1:55:26Speaker 4: New England. How much are you all willing to spend
- 1:55:29Speaker 4: to just watch the Patriots per year?
- 1:55:31Speaker 5: So that they I do know that NBA also does.
- 1:55:36Speaker 5: They're the same thing that the emailer was talking about
- 1:55:38Speaker 5: with the MLB, because when I lived out in California,
- 1:55:41Speaker 5: I literally I would just buy the Celtics. I would
- 1:55:44Speaker 5: not buy the whole package of league games.
- 1:55:47Speaker 3: I would like, fine, crew, was it like a portion
- 1:55:49Speaker 3: of league past?
- 1:55:50Speaker 5: Nbatten TV? Okay, So you go and you go online
- 1:55:54Speaker 5: and I could literally just purchase Celtics. And it's actually
- 1:55:58Speaker 5: pretty cool because I could also get it the radio
- 1:56:01Speaker 5: broadcast on the app as well. So when I was
- 1:56:03Speaker 5: in my car if I was driving, I could also
- 1:56:05Speaker 5: listen to it on the radio in the car. But
- 1:56:08Speaker 5: the NFL doesn't do anything.
- 1:56:09Speaker 8: Like that, and they only Sunday ticket.
- 1:56:12Speaker 5: They only have Sunday Yeah, which I think that they
- 1:56:15Speaker 5: would they would get a lot of people. But the locally,
- 1:56:19Speaker 5: I don't think you can do the MLB TV or
- 1:56:22Speaker 5: an NBA TV locally because you're supposed to go to
- 1:56:25Speaker 5: your regional sports network to watch out.
- 1:56:27Speaker 4: Yeah, Anthony says, I started listening late but wanted to
- 1:56:30Speaker 4: rapid fire some points don't want digs back if AJ
- 1:56:34Speaker 4: Brown is coming. Cardi vus Nikki is fueled by Nicki
- 1:56:37Speaker 4: supporting her morally reprehensible husband and brother. Sweetest fish are
- 1:56:41Speaker 4: the best candy and to the expectant father, get used
- 1:56:44Speaker 4: to operating on a sleep deficit. You truly can't appreciate
- 1:56:47Speaker 4: how much your life changes with kids until you have them.
- 1:56:50Speaker 8: So good email.
- 1:56:52Speaker 7: All right, that's gonna be it. We're gonna end this show.
- 1:56:56Speaker 7: That's it. I'm calling it.
- 1:56:58Speaker 4: It's been a good week. Se nonsense, some patriots. We'll
- 1:57:03Speaker 4: be back next Tuesday to talk more. What do we
- 1:57:07Speaker 4: got going on next week?
- 1:57:09Speaker 5: Not much the schedule, Yeah.
- 1:57:12Speaker 7: So we can.
- 1:57:13Speaker 4: I'm sure by then the schedule be dissected and analyzed,
- 1:57:17Speaker 4: but we'll have our take on it.
- 1:57:18Speaker 7: We'll talk about what we're bitching about, what we.
- 1:57:20Speaker 24: Like and all that.
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: We'll have some stuff about the schedule in the newsletter.
- 1:57:23Speaker 4: Yeah, and also reaction to all the schedule videos that
- 1:57:26Speaker 4: are out there.
- 1:57:27Speaker 7: If we get it right, who didn't.
- 1:57:30Speaker 4: And what.
- 1:57:31Speaker 8: You're gonna need to be on the show Tuesday, because
- 1:57:32Speaker 8: we're gonna need someone to watch them.
- 1:57:35Speaker 4: Season two episode on Friday there so we can talk
- 1:57:39Speaker 4: about that. All right, we'll see you next week.
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: Hey, this is Deuce.
- 1:57:46Speaker 8: Thanks for tuning into the show.
