Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: On today's show, we'll give you our reaction to the
- 0:03Speaker 1: NFL Draft and tell you everything the media is too
- 0:06Speaker 1: afraid to say about it.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Let's go roll the intro producer. That's your cue, your moro.
- 0:13Speaker 2: You're gonna be rolling in a grave.
- 0:20Speaker 1: All right. Ah, you're getting you gom in to your
- 0:24Speaker 1: life from phill It. It's the number one rated Paully
- 0:26Speaker 1: and Tony Fosco show, Yo Yo, as always Paulie Fosco
- 0:32Speaker 1: here with Tony Fosco and Tony Yo. It's a very
- 0:35Speaker 1: special NFL Draft Reaction show. We're not gonna waste time
- 0:40Speaker 1: getting right into the top stories, all the reaction, the news,
- 0:44Speaker 1: the lives being doll the sex being had with insiders,
- 0:47Speaker 1: all that. But before we do, we gotta tell you.
- 0:51Speaker 1: You got to make sure you like your subscribe. You
- 0:54Speaker 1: do that, alse you know you're gonna be mister irrelevant
- 0:58Speaker 1: because no one's gonna like you.
- 1:00Speaker 3: You're gonna be picked last exactly. You got work to do.
- 1:05Speaker 3: Let's go, let's go.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Yeah. Anyway, well we got work to do to Tony,
- 1:09Speaker 1: So let's wait, rightn't do a NFL Draft reaction.
- 1:13Speaker 3: NFL Draft reaction.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Well, obviously there's so much to get go from round
- 1:19Speaker 1: one of the draft several moves that will have a
- 1:22Speaker 1: huge impact on the NFL, and it cause many moves
- 1:25Speaker 1: that will have absolutely zero impact and everyone will forget
- 1:27Speaker 1: about by TOMORROWFL. But Dannyway, Tony, let's start with this.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Which pick surprised.
- 1:33Speaker 2: You most well, frankly, outside of Finando Mendoza number one,
- 1:39Speaker 2: pretty much all of them. You know, this is what
- 1:42Speaker 2: I don't understand. Why didn't these teams just pick players
- 1:46Speaker 2: from Indiana? They just had an undefeated season and they
- 1:51Speaker 2: won the title. Why bother looking up all these other
- 1:54Speaker 2: players who didn't win a title when you could just
- 1:57Speaker 2: draft their whole team and have a title winning rosta
- 2:01Speaker 2: day one.
- 2:02Speaker 3: Why add all that extra work? It doesn't make any sense.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Doesn't make any sense, don'ty. I'm only the same thing myself.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But you know, that was one thing that was shocking.
- 2:12Speaker 1: It was Tye Simpson going number thirteen to the LA
- 2:17Speaker 1: Rams And well, it's not hard to say why this
- 2:20Speaker 1: was so unexpected, DON'TY?
- 2:21Speaker 3: You know, you know I had the same feeling.
- 2:24Speaker 2: I mean, we all remember the last time we saw
- 2:27Speaker 2: a football player named Simpson in Los Angeles. This was
- 2:31Speaker 2: just a terrible pr move by the Rams. I mean, now,
- 2:35Speaker 2: think of how people in Los Angeles are going to
- 2:38Speaker 2: feel when they hear the announcer on the TV say,
- 2:41Speaker 2: there go Simpson, he's on the loose. Oh look now
- 2:45Speaker 2: he's taking a stab at his target. I mean, they'll
- 2:48Speaker 2: be running for their lives exactly. You know, it's just
- 2:50Speaker 2: so thoughtless.
- 2:51Speaker 3: It's thoughtless.
- 2:52Speaker 2: And you know what, can I just say one more
- 2:54Speaker 2: thing here, because I've also got concerns about his first
- 2:58Speaker 2: name too. Who names this son Taie? And how can
- 3:03Speaker 2: you have a winning mentality if your name is Tie.
- 3:07Speaker 2: And you may say, well, that has no connection to
- 3:10Speaker 2: the game of football, well then you're an idiot who
- 3:13Speaker 2: doesn't know stats. Because if you go look up the
- 3:17Speaker 2: other quarterbacks named Tie, Tie Detma and his career numbers
- 3:22Speaker 2: with the Eagles, you'll see his win loss record was
- 3:26Speaker 2: nine and nine, which is a tie.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Tie numbers tell the whole story there ready. Well, talking
- 3:34Speaker 1: about another story, you know, people were up in arms
- 3:37Speaker 1: about the Fernando Mendoza's decision to watch the draft with
- 3:41Speaker 1: his family at home in Miami instead of flying to
- 3:43Speaker 1: Pittsburgh to be there in person. And well, this is
- 3:46Speaker 1: clearly a bad sign. Isn't it, Doughty?
- 3:48Speaker 2: You know, what do we always say Matt is most
- 3:52Speaker 2: first impression impressions? Of course, Fernando Mendoza just made the
- 3:57Speaker 2: worst first impression possible. He clearly chose his family over
- 4:03Speaker 2: being there for his team. Well, don't be surprised if
- 4:06Speaker 2: you know, week two or week three he says, sorry,
- 4:10Speaker 2: I can't play Sunday my mom's having company over to
- 4:13Speaker 2: the house and she wants me to sweep the driveway,
- 4:17Speaker 2: or you know, week thirteen, Thanksgiving he says, sorry, my
- 4:21Speaker 2: mom already cooked dinner and I promised i'd set the table,
- 4:24Speaker 2: so I can't make it.
- 4:26Speaker 3: This could totally backfire on the Raiders.
- 4:30Speaker 1: The Raiders have been won, don'ty. And you know another
- 4:33Speaker 1: thing with this Mendoza. You know, it came out that
- 4:36Speaker 1: the NFL asked Peyton Manning to convince Fernando Mendoza to
- 4:41Speaker 1: attend the draft in person, and well it clearly didn't
- 4:44Speaker 1: work at all. Mendoza didn't listen to him. And well
- 4:47Speaker 1: this is no surprise, no.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Surprise to me, because who listens to what Peyton Manning
- 4:53Speaker 2: has to say anymore? Nobody, nobody, I certainly don't. You know,
- 4:59Speaker 2: last night during the draft, I was so angry about
- 5:02Speaker 2: this that I could barely eat my Papa John's pizza
- 5:05Speaker 2: or my Oreos. I had to drink like three bud
- 5:08Speaker 2: Lights just to calm myself down. I couldn't stop thinking
- 5:12Speaker 2: about why they'd sent someone as irrelevant as Peyton Manning.
- 5:17Speaker 2: In fact, I got so angry about it that on
- 5:20Speaker 2: my way home I almost crashed my buick lesber.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Tony, you gotta be careful there. I mean, you know,
- 5:26Speaker 1: what if something happened on the way home.
- 5:28Speaker 3: You know that's true.
- 5:29Speaker 2: But I do have nationwide insurance and you know they're
- 5:33Speaker 2: on my side, so it's okay.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Okay, Well, all right, fine, that's good. Yeah, okay, Well,
- 5:39Speaker 1: moving on from that, we do have to talk about
- 5:41Speaker 1: what was obviously the greatest pick of the night. Of course,
- 5:43Speaker 1: that would be the Eagles pick it up wide receiver
- 5:46Speaker 1: Mackay Lemon at a USC. Now people are saying, God
- 5:49Speaker 1: that this means AJ Brown will definitely get traded. But
- 5:54Speaker 1: I don't see that at all, don't it Because I've
- 5:57Speaker 1: always maintained.
- 5:58Speaker 2: That every player on the offense should be a wide receiver.
- 6:01Speaker 2: You know, same here, it makes total sense. I mean,
- 6:05Speaker 2: what's the key to every offense get of course. Well,
- 6:10Speaker 2: if everyone on the field is a receiver, then someone's
- 6:14Speaker 2: bound to be open. Like, why have these slow, fat
- 6:18Speaker 2: offensive linemen when you can have ten speedy receivers who
- 6:22Speaker 2: could get open in seconds?
- 6:24Speaker 1: Exactly? Oh no, you hold on?
- 6:28Speaker 3: What do you hold in the middle of the show. Yeah,
- 6:30Speaker 3: what are you doing?
- 6:31Speaker 4: It's like you don't even know the rules. What if
- 6:35Speaker 4: every player was an eligible receiver, it would ruin the game.
- 6:39Speaker 4: It's nonsensical.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well you're an eligible receiver for the bullets
- 6:45Speaker 1: in my gun.
- 6:47Speaker 3: Yeah. And you know who's always been an eligible receiver?
- 6:51Speaker 3: Your mother?
- 6:52Speaker 2: Oh?
- 6:56Speaker 3: Still talking?
- 6:57Speaker 2: What you know?
- 6:59Speaker 4: We're several minutes into the show, which is supposed to
- 7:02Speaker 4: be a draft reaction show, and you haven't once said
- 7:05Speaker 4: anything about their performance on the field, probably because you
- 7:09Speaker 4: don't know anything about them.
- 7:12Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Well pick a player and try me.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Yeah fine, Sunny Styles, name one thing about him, go.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Please, one thing. I can name ten billion things.
- 7:25Speaker 2: I studied the film and it's clear this guy has
- 7:29Speaker 2: so many intangibles. It's not about what you see on
- 7:33Speaker 2: the tape, but also what you don't see and what
- 7:37Speaker 2: people need to see are the things that you can't see.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I mean, anyone can look at the tangibles, but you
- 7:44Speaker 2: gotta see the intangibles. He has so much ability, but
- 7:49Speaker 2: what I like most is his intangibility. And in fact,
- 7:54Speaker 2: his intangibles are so intangible that most people can't see
- 7:59Speaker 2: them on less they know how to see them like
- 8:03Speaker 2: I do.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Yep, you see what I'm saying. No, of course you don't.
- 8:10Speaker 3: That's because you don't know football.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it was clear as day to me downy, And
- 8:14Speaker 1: you know what, don't you think we got to address
- 8:17Speaker 1: without interruption? Thank you?
- 8:18Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 8:19Speaker 1: You know this Mike Rabel situation, you know, at the draft,
- 8:22Speaker 1: it came out and he was so apologetic for everything
- 8:26Speaker 1: that happened between him and Diana Rossini, and well, Donty,
- 8:29Speaker 1: I still don't see what he has to apologize for.
- 8:32Speaker 3: You know, what's the most important thing for a coach
- 8:35Speaker 3: to do? Lee?
- 8:39Speaker 2: Of course, Mike Rabel knows that players don't play for glory,
- 8:43Speaker 2: they play for poon. The players will naturally respond to
- 8:47Speaker 2: a coach who gets more poon than they do because
- 8:51Speaker 2: they want that poon for themselves. Frankly, I think Mike
- 8:55Speaker 2: Rabel is setting the best example out there.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Couldn't agree more Donty and you know, you got to
- 9:01Speaker 1: wonder here if Drake May is really the best fit here,
- 9:04Speaker 1: you know, because he appears to be happily married to
- 9:08Speaker 1: his middle school sweetheart, which totally goes against Mike Frable's
- 9:12Speaker 1: aggressive poon getting strategy.
- 9:14Speaker 3: You know, absolutely.
- 9:16Speaker 2: You know, now we can see why Bill Belichick and
- 9:19Speaker 2: Tom Brady worked so well together. They were chasing the
- 9:23Speaker 2: same poon at the same poon age. Just total coach play,
- 9:27Speaker 2: a poon alignment that Mike Vrabel and non aggressive poon
- 9:32Speaker 2: chases Drake May don't.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Have terrific analysis that Dony. And you know, one thing
- 9:37Speaker 1: we do got to bring up here when it comes
- 9:39Speaker 1: to coaches and these press conferences, right that they're always
- 9:43Speaker 1: doing what do we always say NFL coaches need to
- 9:47Speaker 1: learn how to do.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Handle the media.
- 9:50Speaker 2: Yeah, the Corly and Mike Vrabel was literally handling the media.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I mean, Frankly, that's the way you control the narrative
- 10:00Speaker 2: by picking it up, spanking it around, and showing it
- 10:03Speaker 2: who the boss is.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Frankly, I think all.
- 10:06Speaker 2: NFL coaches should be having sex with reporters, you know,
- 10:09Speaker 2: that way you can ensure that you keep a grip
- 10:12Speaker 2: on the media and also the media keep a grip
- 10:16Speaker 2: on you.
- 10:17Speaker 1: You know, well said that, don'ty And in fact, you know,
- 10:21Speaker 1: as I watched the draft and mel Kiper, I thought
- 10:24Speaker 1: something very suspicious. What was going on? Yeah, mel Kiper
- 10:27Speaker 1: was one of the early people to predict that the
- 10:30Speaker 1: Jets would pick David Bailey had a Texas tech ye
- 10:34Speaker 1: number two. And now I think you have to wonder,
- 10:38Speaker 1: you know, is mel Kuiper having sex with Jets head
- 10:40Speaker 1: coach Aaron Glenn.
- 10:42Speaker 2: You know, it's definitely on the table now, it's definitely
- 10:45Speaker 2: on the table.
- 10:46Speaker 1: I mean, but well, you know, we got to talk
- 10:50Speaker 1: about what's on the table for us right now. You know,
- 10:53Speaker 1: this is kind of a business thing. We got to
- 10:55Speaker 1: get the you know, piles of money thrown at us
- 10:58Speaker 1: by ESBA to do an ad read here now as
- 11:02Speaker 1: you know, well, it maybe a conflict of interest quote unquote,
- 11:05Speaker 1: because we do have a multimillion dollar partnerships radio. However,
- 11:10Speaker 1: money talks, and we're business people first, and you know,
- 11:13Speaker 1: ESPN desperate to reach our massive audience to all their
- 11:16Speaker 1: failing numbers. So that's why right now we're going to
- 11:18Speaker 1: do an ad for an exciting news show coming to
- 11:22Speaker 1: ESPN and Disney Plus ESPN Jeopardy. That's right. You know,
- 11:28Speaker 1: every time I watch Jeopardy, which is twice in my
- 11:30Speaker 1: entire life, I think, who the hell is this for?
- 11:33Speaker 1: You know, who thinks this makes for good television? How
- 11:35Speaker 1: can anyone watch this? Well? Guess what our prayers are
- 11:38Speaker 1: finally answered, because now there's ESPN Jeopardy, which is focused
- 11:42Speaker 1: only on sports. And well, you know, you may say, oh, well,
- 11:45Speaker 1: that's been done before. Well that's true, but that was
- 11:48Speaker 1: on Crackle and nobody knew what Crackle was. What most
- 11:51Speaker 1: people thought it was a serial. You know, it's never
- 11:55Speaker 1: been done like this before, right, and you know, and
- 11:57Speaker 1: this is what's so great. Instead of these them nobody
- 12:00Speaker 1: contestants that they put on the other Jeopardy, you know,
- 12:03Speaker 1: losers you've never heard of, contestants will be mostly ESPN
- 12:08Speaker 1: on air personalities and well, don'ty, how excited are you
- 12:12Speaker 1: for this?
- 12:12Speaker 3: So excited?
- 12:13Speaker 1: You know?
- 12:14Speaker 2: My problem with ESPN's approach is that it was growing stale.
- 12:18Speaker 2: They're always talking about what's going on now. It's the
- 12:21Speaker 2: same old samula formula exactly, it's been done before. I
- 12:26Speaker 2: wanted to see how much these ESPN hosts know about
- 12:30Speaker 2: sporting events that took place thirty to forty years ago.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Finally will know how much Damian Woody knows about the
- 12:38Speaker 2: early nineteen seventies Oakland A's and if Mina Kimes knows
- 12:43Speaker 2: who came in second the year Secretariat won the Kentucky Derby.
- 12:48Speaker 3: It's the Ultimate test and the ultimate entertainment.
- 12:52Speaker 1: ESPN Jeopardy hosted by Joe Buck Griff Rioyce, coming soon
- 12:57Speaker 1: to ESPN and Disney Plus to all subscribers of that
- 13:01Speaker 1: Premium plus unlimited Platinum back. Wow. I can't wait for that. Yeah,
- 13:05Speaker 1: I can't wait. And you know that's just a perfect place.
- 13:08Speaker 1: Don't need to wrap a NFL draft reaction show. Don't
- 13:11Speaker 1: forget to visit the merch store. Oh are you kidding me?
- 13:15Speaker 1: What about the merch store? A nuclear reaction on you?
- 13:19Speaker 3: Exactly? What do you want?
- 13:20Speaker 4: What? Go?
- 13:22Speaker 1: Correction?
- 13:24Speaker 4: You said team should only draft players from Indiana because
- 13:28Speaker 4: they won a championship.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Yeah, bro, it makes total sense. Bro, Yeah no it doesn't.
- 13:35Speaker 4: First of all, only a few players from Indiana declared
- 13:39Speaker 4: for the draft, so you'd run out of players like
- 13:42Speaker 4: a picked five or six.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well you're going to run out of breath
- 13:48Speaker 1: when I suffocate you.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Yeah, and I can't wait till you're declared dead. Oh
- 13:58Speaker 2: he's still talking.
- 13:59Speaker 1: What you said.
- 14:01Speaker 4: You're concerned about Tye Simpson because he has the same
- 14:05Speaker 4: last name as O. J. Simpson and now he's in
- 14:08Speaker 4: Los Angeles like O. J.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Simpson was. Yeah, I'd be concerned.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Bro there's an obvious connection there.
- 14:14Speaker 4: Broe, No, there is no connection there. Nobody is thinking
- 14:19Speaker 4: that except you two, probably because you haven't gone through
- 14:25Speaker 4: the draft picks and actually analyzed them.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Oh well, don't worry. You'll see a connection when my
- 14:32Speaker 1: knife connects with your abdomen.
- 14:34Speaker 2: And you know what, you've never gone through puberty. Oh
- 14:41Speaker 2: but you know what talking about going through? And email
- 14:44Speaker 2: just went through my.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Computer popped up. Great ghost, Tony just book for next
- 14:49Speaker 1: week super Bowl hero Eagles legend Nick Foles will be Wow,
- 14:53Speaker 1: Nick Foles, you like you subscribe your rate and that
- 15:00Speaker 1: the merchant donate. Great job by you as always.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Same to you, Paulie. Another floorless show.
- 15:07Speaker 1: There you go. We'll see your people next week.
- 15:09Speaker 3: See your
