- 4:16Speaker 2: She's an angel, for sure.
- 4:18Speaker 1: She is.
- 4:19Speaker 1: She is on top of things, she's a go getter and a super spiritual.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Can I say badass, yeah, on the radio sorry, censored oh, she's so good and I love that she's getting into so much planting.
- 4:34Speaker 1: This season she really took the winter sowing thing and ran with her entire patio with all different kinds of containers, planting all the seeds, and now she like I feel like she had a lot of success with it, just let a nature do its thing out there, and now she's like planting it on this property and this aerial land and all of the pots like she is like really separating and just throwing a lot of tender, loving, care and I just love that spirit of like pioneer woman and she's like bought a pressure canner and a digital one, I think she is Nan is that's how she lives life, though that lady is just all in.
- 5:14Speaker 1: She is there for a good time.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Like Nan, wants to have fun.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Nan ran with it, nan ran, run, nan run.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Oh, she's so good.

- 5:33Speaker 1: What is the sign?
- 5:34Speaker 1: Gemini, oh, the gemini right now.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yes yes, trust your first intuition it's so.
- 5:39Speaker 1: True, it's so true, the twins.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know a whole lot about it, though, but I feel is it like a jekyll and hyde type twin.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Like you don't know which one you're gonna get, or maybe, maybe maybe we got two different masculine, feminine, oh, maybe, maybe I think it's a water sign, right?
- 5:58Speaker 1: Am I thinking of pisces?
- 6:00Speaker 1: Maybe air water?
- 6:02Speaker 1: Maybe air sign.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Something to look into, because I feel like it really starts to make sense once you understand your loved one's signs, because you're just like aha, like I see you, I get you.
- 6:12Speaker 2: I'm just a whole nother level of awesome, awesome understanding, yeah, and like not everybody's by the book, but it kind of gives you a better like intake on how to communicate with them sometimes or where they're coming from.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Empathize, absolutely right, yeah absolutely yes.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I know personally, when I'm reading those horse cams or I'm reading the trades, I'm like yes, uh, yes, yes yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, like a poster child, but it's already written the story is already there on the exact time of the date and exactly where we need to be.
- 6:48Speaker 2: Embrace it right.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that astrology, it's written in the stars, and then add the complexity of gardening by the moon and the different moon phases yes, so much to learn, I know.
- 7:01Speaker 1: So much to learn I want to learn it all, but I just have no one day at a time, right, right, lady Jane.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Just for today, yeah, yeah, love you, jane.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Just for today, I will not be in a hurry.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Just for today, I will be kind.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Just for today, I'll show love and compassion to all living things.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Ooh.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Including yourself, mm-hmm.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Yeah, that's how Reiki starts, is always like giving that Reiki, love and energy right to yourself, a prayer right to yourself.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I think it's a great time to say the prayer Mm-hmm.
- 7:40Speaker 1: Dear Lord, thank you so much for allowing us to be here together this day, vibe nectarine out there off each other and spreading it out into the great wide universe.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Thanks for giving us the courage and the vulnerability to be able to share our knowledge and your knowledge and trust that we're exactly where we need to be.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Glory be to you, jesus, in your name Amen Amen.
- 8:17Speaker 2: That was beautiful.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Yes, way to start off our podcast today.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Yes.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Way to start off our podcast today yes.
- 8:24Speaker 1: We're the bloom where you are planted.
- 8:25Speaker 1: And a prayer and a shout out to our sponsor of this podcast, dna Hemp.
- 8:40Speaker 1: That has been so boldly and gracious adventure We've been on together and kind of how this whole thing started was through our love of plant allies.
- 8:47Speaker 1: This whole thing started was through our love of plant allies and I couldn't be more excited to talk about our plant ally today.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Yes, I feel like we'll kind of like loop back into it.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Okay, it's like the cutest little jar of what is this?
- 8:59Speaker 1: Does anyone know?
- 9:02Speaker 2: Red clover, Red clover, red clover.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Let Ashley come over.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Let all your plant allies come over.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Yes, smell, kiss, love.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Our spidey senses tell us that it is soft.
- 9:19Speaker 2: Soothing, if you will, mm-hmm.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Cooling soothing, if you will, cooling sweet.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I just love it.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I know the bees love it too these blossoms are amazing.
- 9:38Speaker 1: There's so much to talk about with this beautiful plant.
- 9:40Speaker 1: They're kind of just starting to bloom right here, right now, so be on the lookout for this amazing yeah, the bees.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I got bees on the brain.
- 9:48Speaker 2: We were just out there.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Yes, Blessed bee.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Yes, For a side note off us.
- 10:00Speaker 1: A side thing we were just out in the back 40 tending to our two beehives today.
- 10:09Speaker 1: We have two of them and we are tending to them, checking for queen cups.
- 10:13Speaker 1: There's only one queen per hive and she's the queen bee, so we need to make sure that no other queens are being hatched or give them a home.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Try to take over the hive and super cool fact that they're mostly female bees doing all the work in there.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Work it, work it work it, work it and they're making that honey.
- 10:38Speaker 1: So we put on a super or additional box that has 10 frames on it.
- 10:43Speaker 1: We plopped it on top so they can start with our honey production because they're full speed ahead as all these beautiful blooms are coming out.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yes, it's beautiful.
- 10:53Speaker 2: The brood was in there, which is the babies, honey, and now that's a good jelly.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Yeah, royal jelly.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Which is like the babies, right yeah, like the splooge Royal jelly Lots of, which is like the babies right yeah, Like the splooge A propolis.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Super sticky sticky.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Oh, we got to work with that propolis yeah, that would be golden.
- 11:16Speaker 1: More to come Nectar of the gods.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Sorry, we just threw the bees in there.
- 11:19Speaker 2: That wasn't even in the script.
- 11:20Speaker 2: But how could we not?
- 11:25Speaker 1: Well, even end the script.
- 11:26Speaker 1: But how can we not?
- 11:26Speaker 1: Well, we're talking about pollinators and red clover.
- 11:28Speaker 1: It's all connected.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Yes, it's all connected up there, uh, but I love red clover.
- 11:31Speaker 1: We planted it, uh, as a cover crop in between our hemp rows a couple seasons ago and I don't think it ever really went away.
- 11:38Speaker 1: It just kind of spread and made a nice sweet little home back there.
- 11:41Speaker 1: So tons of clover out in our fields.
- 11:44Speaker 1: That brings nitrogen into the soil when it decomposes and breaks down.
- 11:49Speaker 1: So it's a great companion plant to put in your garden and it helps suppress weeds as well and retains water.
- 11:57Speaker 2: So it's so soft to walk on.
- 11:59Speaker 2: It's like a little soft carpet.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Yeah, put over carpet and one year I feel like the kids found like massive four-leaf clovers.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Oh, remember.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I don't know if I've ever seen that many in my life.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Yes, they were four-leaf clovers everywhere we're like save them, like make a wish that's so special remember rolling in it ah yes, yes, can we do that again?
- 12:21Speaker 2: please, please, please, in the blanket of clover, we'll take this on the go-go and you guys can roll with us.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Yes, that'd be amazing.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Please do yes, let us do that?
- 12:30Speaker 2: Take a note.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Take a note.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Roll in the clover.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Roll in the clover.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Yes, please, it'll be part of the honorable harvest experience, right?
- 12:41Speaker 1: It would only be right to love and appreciate all that this plant has to offer.
- 12:46Speaker 1: She likes to have fun with us, absolutely.
- 12:51Speaker 1: But the Latin name of this is Trifolium Pretens, which I find interesting because that means in Latin the meadow or a meadow, and that's where you find it is in the meadow.
- 13:05Speaker 1: So that was already written in there.
- 13:08Speaker 1: And then I think that the tri, you know, has to do with the leaf structure.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Here.
- 13:13Speaker 1: It's part of the Fabricaceae family, so it's like the bean, the bean family, the pea.
- 13:19Speaker 1: So it's really cool to see the flower structure, what that looks like and taking cues from its color, with that beautiful pink, reddish hue, is a great indicator that it's good for your cardiovascular system.
- 13:38Speaker 1: It's a blood purifier.
- 13:41Speaker 1: So when you use this as a tea and we're using the blossoms, it's great for your blood.
- 13:50Speaker 2: And your bones.
- 13:50Speaker 2: It helps with osteoporosis, which is crazy, Mm-hmm.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Your endocrine system, your hormones, the prostate endocrine system your hormones, the prostate, cholesterol, blood flow, asthma, your respiratory system, because of the soothing and the cooling.
- 14:13Speaker 1: So you want to think it kind of helps relieve coughs or congestion.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Yeah, that is a really good use of it too.
- 14:22Speaker 1: You'd have to.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Well, we are dehydrating some right now.
- 14:26Speaker 2: I was like, how do we get that in the middle of winter when you more than likely need it?
- 14:30Speaker 2: Right, we could add it to like an elderberry syrup or something.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I don't know why I'm whispering Elderberry syrup.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Write that down, yeah, yeah.
- 14:43Speaker 1: The isoflavonoids act as the phytoestrogen, so like plant estrogen, and that's why it helps with your hormones.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And it's great to use uh for menopausal symptoms and kind of helps with all things lady parts.
- 14:55Speaker 1: They're just kind of fortifying, strengthifying and eases the symptoms.
- 15:01Speaker 1: So and says uh, anti-inflammatory, um, antioxidant for there, for the, for all around.
- 15:10Speaker 1: You know they're everywhere and a lot of people like the traditional uses for your skin and hair help.
- 15:15Speaker 1: A lot of people are using it with the psoriasis and eczema, so it help heal from the inside out.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I wonder if they were making, like, any topical applications for that too.
- 15:25Speaker 1: What does the natural standard say?
- 15:27Speaker 1: Let's post that big, thick book open.
- 15:31Speaker 1: That thing is full of knowledge.
- 15:33Speaker 1: I love the blood flow thing with it.
- 15:37Speaker 1: You can tell by looking at it.
- 15:38Speaker 1: That's why, using your doctrine of signature, your plant cues, you're using the colors.
- 15:42Speaker 1: That what the blossom is telling you too, and kind of taking that to heart.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Blood sugar, too, helps with diabetes.
- 15:50Speaker 1: The isoflavonoids have beneficial effects on bone density, so those isoflavonoids are just so helpful.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Those phytoestrogen Reduce symptoms of menopause.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Laminates are just so helpful.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Those phyto phytoestrogen Mm-hmm Reduce symptoms of menopause.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Happier for this use, yes, lowering your triglyceride levels, and it's safe to use.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I feel like generally it is really safe, not recommend during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- 16:16Speaker 1: But really no herbs really are.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I feel like that's like standard on most of them.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Well, this one specifically says because of the estrogen like activity.
- 16:24Speaker 1: So that makes sense.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Yes, that does make sense.
- 16:26Speaker 1: So it's really not a lot of side effects, not a ton of warnings, not a lot of interactions with other dietary supplements.
- 16:33Speaker 1: So you can feel really good about going in your sweet little meadow and picking some blossoms and making yourself a fresh tea, and we're going to cheers to that, because we made ourselves some.
- 16:46Speaker 1: All we did was we boiled some water to 212 degrees, we put some fresh blossoms, just like a sweet little handful, we made several cups in there and let it infuse for 10 minutes and you got yourself a beautiful, wonderful, fresh as could be red clover tea.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Oh, that's good, I just love it.
- 17:15Speaker 1: You get that little sweet and subtle yeah.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Yeah, just it.
- 17:20Speaker 1: All on its own is just wonderful.
- 17:22Speaker 1: It's like soft.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Yes, yes it is it's soothing?
- 17:26Speaker 1: I see the breeze, I'm relieving.
- 17:28Speaker 1: I do like it Helping any irritation or inflammation.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Red clover is it Just kind of tending back to some of our previous episodes that we were saying the earth always provides?
- 17:43Speaker 1: This is the earth's way of saying hey, let's get through this allergy season right, let's keep the blood pumping and flowing and, you know, purify it.
- 17:53Speaker 1: As we're coming out of the stagnant winter months, we're still in spring.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Technically, um and uh, utilize what she provides.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Get your juices flowing.
- 18:03Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely, I love it.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Some good old, like natural sugars too, it seems like.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Yeah right.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it smells like floral, like very light.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I'm sure the longer you steep it, the more it'll it'll get.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Definitely re-steep you.
- 18:18Speaker 2: You can steep it more than once.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yes, that's what we do with almost all of our fresh herbs, even dried herbs, but definitely with fresh.
- 18:26Speaker 1: I like to do a double steep If not sometimes, depending on the darkness of the tea and what I'm getting.
- 18:32Speaker 2: I'll do a triple steep.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Yeah, and then make a tea for our plant babies too.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:37Speaker 1: And what you don't drink if you got some left over in the pot pour it out, can pour about some for your other plant allies or your homies for your homies.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Yes for houseplants is what I like to use them for, because it's that natural nutrients that are in there.
- 18:53Speaker 2: It kind of all lends a hand to one another even in the hoop house we have tea percolating right now to fertilize and give our plant babies.
- 19:03Speaker 2: It also helps with pests too.
- 19:05Speaker 2: I know lemon balm in particular was one of the last ones I was reading that helps.
- 19:10Speaker 2: So if you have pests on your plants, pour some tea on it.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Hey, pour some tea on it.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Pour some tea on it.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I love that.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Yes, utilize, because if you don't use it, you'll lose it.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Isn't that crazy?
- 19:28Speaker 1: Like plants, no, seriously, they'll just stop growing by you if you don't use them Like fun, we'll go somewhere else if you're not going to enjoy us.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Yeah, if you don't appreciate them then they're going somewhere else.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Isn't that crazy?
- 19:43Speaker 2: All connected.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I've been listening to Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Kimmerer and some of her just analogies really hit home with me and you can just kind of really feel and hear and understand what she's saying and how she brings that to light.
- 19:59Speaker 1: And you know, with the sweetgrass itself, like you know, suffering in some populations because it wasn't being harvested, and then kind of getting into the honorable harvest is really what gets me really in tune of that.
- 20:17Speaker 1: These plants are living species.
- 20:20Speaker 1: They're lit, you could, according to the indigenous culture.
- 20:24Speaker 1: They and their deep respect for the earth.
- 20:27Speaker 1: They treat everything in their environment, in nature, as equals.
- 20:33Speaker 1: That was what we were talking about with the circle, not the pyramid, man's not on top.
- 20:37Speaker 1: We are all equal.
- 20:39Speaker 1: So I mean just thinking, like respecting red clover.
- 20:42Speaker 1: I was like one of my sisters, like one of my best days from another mister and just like paying homage to her and I feel like you're just talking with friends, like they're so, like nervous to work with the natural environment and it can you know, meeting new people is nerve wracking right, like you got to remember their names.
- 21:03Speaker 1: You got to make sure you know you're good at eye contact, you're active, listening, like there's a lot of things that goes on.
- 21:09Speaker 1: You can be really nervous meeting new people or speaking in front of people, but you just how do you get better at anything?
- 21:16Speaker 2: Just do it.
- 21:17Speaker 1: So that is my challenge to you, friends.
- 21:20Speaker 1: It's get out there and harvest something and start a relationship with the plant, your plant ally, because everybody's going to be different, but there are rules.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Yes.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Well, speaking of intuition, you want to just trust your intuition and knowing that the earth always provides.
- 21:37Speaker 1: We were just speaking to a friend and she said can you come over and tell me what I have in my yard?
- 21:42Speaker 1: Like I think I got yarrow and motherwort and chick what'd you say?
- 21:47Speaker 1: Chickweed which is also usable.
- 21:51Speaker 1: So I feel like getting to know your background and your backyard fresh is best.
- 21:57Speaker 1: So use what is out there seasonally right now, just like how you would feed yourself.
- 22:03Speaker 1: You have to treat your medicine the same.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Seasonal medicine.
- 22:05Speaker 2: We started knowing very, very minimal right Like.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Would you feel safe to say that?
- 22:11Speaker 1: Starting yeah, Like I have books, google Lens.
- 22:15Speaker 2: We just did it the other day.
- 22:16Speaker 2: We took a little patrol around the area and anything we didn't know took a picture.
- 22:22Speaker 2: We don't have wi-fi service, which is a blessing, so we had to do it later, but it, which is an option as well.
- 22:28Speaker 2: So just take a picture and reference it later, but familiarize yourself with your environment, your surroundings, educate yourself.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Um, yeah, phone a friend, that's awesome, I think that's great.
- 22:39Speaker 2: But yeah, unless, unless you do it, you're never gonna know.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Putting in the work yeah, I'm thirsty, intentionally.
- 22:46Speaker 2: I want to know.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I just feel like it's need to know at this point when things look so crazy all around you.
- 22:55Speaker 1: I'm putting on my blindness.
- 22:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna focus on my own backyard.
- 22:58Speaker 1: That's what I feel.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Yeah, like I'm gonna on my blindness.
- 23:00Speaker 1: I'm going to focus on my own backyard.
- 23:01Speaker 2: That's what I feel like I'm going to do.
- 23:03Speaker 1: You know, not worry about.
- 23:04Speaker 1: You know, let them Like I'm also reading the book with the let them, Let people do it.
- 23:10Speaker 1: Everyone's on their own journey and really honoring and respecting that.
- 23:13Speaker 1: But you know, learning from one another is what humans are so wonderful at doing.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Is that human interaction, that human like, touch and feel.
- 23:23Speaker 1: So sharing this information is so pivotal absolutely.
- 23:28Speaker 2: I think that was like the whole sisterhood at the women's herbal conference is sharing.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Is caring right real?
- 23:36Speaker 1: uh, uh-huh, sharon is karen and that's really yeah in creating.
- 23:42Speaker 1: And another thing Robin Kimmerer attested to is you know never.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I know it's exciting to get out there and know what something is.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Know your body, your intuition is telling you, yes, bring that into the home, but never take more than what you're going to use.
- 24:07Speaker 1: Sometimes I feel like we get.
- 24:09Speaker 1: We're just in this culture of like, overzealous and you know, more is more, and that's not the case here.
- 24:15Speaker 2: With the plants it's really a little bit goes a long way, so just only take what you need, amen and have permission first, like if you're not on your own land, make sure you're on a piece of property where you legally can harvest responsibly, ethically.
- 24:34Speaker 1: Yeah, private property means private property.
- 24:36Speaker 1: So make sure you get permission or you know how you find another source, because this land is your land.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Just kidding, I'd go.
- 24:45Speaker 1: I'm the rebel of me would say get out there, get it like are they really gonna make?
- 24:48Speaker 1: You're taking my yard?
- 24:50Speaker 2: I don't know, but it was number one on the list, so I'm just I'm a ninja like that.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I could never cross that.
- 24:56Speaker 1: It's easier to ask for forgiveness.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Just kidding.
- 24:59Speaker 1: All right, that's the devil on the shoulder.
- 25:02Speaker 2: The angel on your shoulder would say See, we'd be halfway in the field, arm full of stuff, and you'd be like, should we be doing this?
- 25:15Speaker 1: And you're just that sweet little nod, just yes, absolutely, we should, most definitely.
- 25:20Speaker 1: But yeah, that respect of you know other people's, you know properties.
- 25:25Speaker 2: The people and the plants.
- 25:26Speaker 1: I get that asked a lot with the hemp fields.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Like do people try to come out there and like steal your hemp plants?
- 25:31Speaker 1: I'm like no, they don't.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Uncle Dave's out in the back for like look out Are you on the property you should have seen his vehicle today.
- 25:42Speaker 2: He's an incognito.
- 25:43Speaker 2: You never know what he's gonna roll up.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Yeah, for real, he's out there, he's out there and he ain't shot the binoculars.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I love that, uh.
- 25:55Speaker 1: But speaking of asking for permission, you know it has also been said from the honorable harvest to ask permission of the plant as well and say you know, you're really just talking to just like the tree, just like you're talking to a tree.
- 26:10Speaker 2: You're talking about the living thing.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I just wouldn't come up to you and start molesting you, you know, or like touching you or grabbing you without asking permission, whether it be like a, a verbal, you know, taking some cues.
- 26:22Speaker 1: But you are supposed to ask, uh, the plant if it is okay to harvest, and you'll get, and you'll catch a vibe, and maybe a plant would say no for different reasons, like maybe it's fighting something that underneath that you don't know about, it needs all of its parts.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Maybe it's a little dry, it needs an extra.
- 26:40Speaker 1: You know, maybe it's a little dry, it needs an extra watering, maybe it's not the proper moon phase.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Maybe Not many Too soon.
- 26:46Speaker 1: It's not up to full maturity, it's not ready to be harvested.
- 26:50Speaker 1: So I feel like really being in tune with what Just ask.
- 26:54Speaker 1: All you gotta do is ask All God's creatures, great and small.
- 27:01Speaker 1: That's jesus says too is if you ever need help or you you know you need some advice or guidance or want to get something off your check chess all you have to do is ask.
- 27:10Speaker 1: He always provides.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Sorry, that's okay yes, yes, so good I mean, it's all good, he always provides, just like Mother Gaia, just like his right-hand lady right Takes a team and you can't think that, like with the way you know the plant, how plants have so many similarities to humans.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Do you ever see those kind of comparisons with like elderberry and the way it's structured and your lungs and what that looks like and how it looks so similar your capillaries?
- 27:46Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Yeah, like again, doctor of signatures, it's all connected.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Look for the signs.
- 27:52Speaker 1: I just feel like that's so cool.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Spidey senses.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Yes.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Using your spidey senses and trust.
- 27:58Speaker 1: Trust the process, trust it's not me, it's a trust mom Trust Okay.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I'm trusting.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I love that.
- 28:05Speaker 2: This is me.
- 28:06Speaker 2: She knows what's up, that girl.
- 28:10Speaker 1: So you're asking permission.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Um, both you know from the plant and from the from.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Uh, you know if you're on private property or getting a really organic as much organically plot of land as possible, obviously you want to avoid ditches or places where, like water runoff from the chemicals and the roads can can seep, leach into the soil.
- 28:35Speaker 1: So be you know, be careful of where you're you're harvesting, harvesting, have your standards high when you're thinking about ingesting anything or using it or sharing it with loved ones is definitely.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Don't want to take anything.
- 28:47Speaker 1: If it looks sketchy, it probably is sketchy.
- 28:49Speaker 1: Leave it be.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Leave it be.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Yeah, also, too, I feel like sometimes, like nature protects things, like if you're not supposed to have something, or it's not ready yet, or it's not available to you, they, these plants, do all work together.
- 29:02Speaker 1: So I feel like they'll have thorns or it'll be really hard to access or get to.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Maybe there's pricker bushes like those are signs to say stay the fuck up.
- 29:12Speaker 1: Yeah, you know.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Oh, excuse me, just f off.
- 29:15Speaker 1: Stay out right, like, get out of here.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Yes.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Do it then don't heed that warning, because it is a warning.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Poison ivy is another one.
- 29:25Speaker 1: I feel like she's like a protector out there.
- 29:28Speaker 1: So just really be careful of the biodiversity surrounding you too, before you go in.
- 29:33Speaker 1: Gang, gang, gang on that plant patch, because the kids get hairy yay oh, jeez, and then oh.
- 29:50Speaker 1: I'm glad you're using that, that's amazing, yes, so that is really important all things to consider too.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Like we're going to the land, only take what you need and leave it better than you found it.
- 30:07Speaker 1: You know never.
- 30:09Speaker 1: If you're there you know you don't want to leave things just trampled and it like looking like a crime scene, like use some finesse.
- 30:17Speaker 1: That's what I always love about you, sunshine, is how you work with the plants.
- 30:22Speaker 1: It's just such with tenderness and you're delicate and I feel like you're really mindful on how you handle the plant and how much you're taking and what's to be used, and I admire that.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 30:38Speaker 2: I'm just practicing.
- 30:39Speaker 2: I don't know, but I appreciate that.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Practicing for a hot minute.
- 30:44Speaker 1: You've been moving at it for a little bit, yeah, and I've learned so much from you.
- 30:50Speaker 1: I feel like you are native, we are all native.
- 30:54Speaker 1: We are, we all belong In our own right yeah, and I love learning from you.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Bubbles.
- 30:59Speaker 2: We were just talking about the Latin names.
- 31:02Speaker 2: Like I've read them in books, I have no idea how to pronounce them, but you were just out there with the red clover and you nailed it.
- 31:08Speaker 2: I'm so happy to hear that, because I don't know, I can't speak Latin.
- 31:15Speaker 2: So when you Hearing is believing, yes.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Well, I feel like thein names are just so important to know because they're it's true name.
- 31:25Speaker 1: So, again, like building a relationship, like how can I build a relationship with anyone if I don't even know your name?
- 31:31Speaker 1: So I feel like that's why and the latin names give a lot of indicators and cues to, obviously, the species and the genus of the plant.
- 31:40Speaker 1: You know kind of where it came from and what it's good for.
- 31:43Speaker 1: So I feel like it has those cues in there and the plant identification is.
- 31:50Speaker 1: So it's.
- 31:51Speaker 1: You know how botanists categorize these plants is why they came up with Latin names.
- 31:56Speaker 1: And the more common name is what we're calling it like red clover.
- 32:00Speaker 1: But this red clover could get misconstrued with a different type of clover that maybe has different medicinal purposes or belongs to some other kind of species.
- 32:11Speaker 1: So I feel like it really aids in the plant identification, which is another thing.
- 32:15Speaker 1: When you're out there foraging is make sure you know what you have, are 100% identified with what the plant is.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Yes, and if you don't have a clue, then leave it right Because you're not ready to start taking.
- 32:33Speaker 1: You have to do a little bit more giving, and that's giving of your time, energy and resources to phone a friend to reference a book, to look it up online, or just meditate with the plant and hold it near and dear to your heart and ask it what it could help you with, because everyone's experience will be just a little bit different.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Yes, depending where they bloomed, to how they bloomed when they were planted, because they're all coming from different environments.
- 33:01Speaker 1: You know, not all uh herbs are created equal.
- 33:04Speaker 1: That's why knowing your farmer, knowing your source, is so important.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Get this I'm sorry that's gonna become a little obnoxious knowing your farm I'm gonna have that all the time.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Uh, growing a farm and growing your source is so important because, uh, if the what, what soil is it being grown in?
- 33:25Speaker 1: Is it, is it organic soil or is it dead land?
- 33:28Speaker 1: Um, probably won't grow if it is in dead land, but maybe if they put some weird fertilizers or pesticides it would.
- 33:34Speaker 1: So, you know, you really gotta be in tune, um with with the earth and what it's telling you, and make sure, when it comes to your, to your health, that you're doing what's in your best interest and and and taking control, taking back the power of being able to treat and heal yourself by trusting in the earth.
- 33:56Speaker 1: That's where I feel like.
- 33:58Speaker 1: That's really like the point of sunshine and bubbles.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Yes, I think you nailed it.
- 34:02Speaker 1: So you high five in earth.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Jesus, love and earth balance on a vibe to spread the love of all of our love, all of the loved ones, all of the love, all the beings.
- 34:16Speaker 2: We're all beings, yes, but piggybacking on that, like not only know what you're harvesting, but know what to do it with it when you harvest, because not all plants can be made into teas, not all of them are edible and not you know some you want to make topicals out of, or a salve, or a poultice, or so I mean, we grew hemp the first year.
- 34:38Speaker 2: We're like whoa, this is amazing.
- 34:39Speaker 2: And then we're like what do we do with it?
- 34:42Speaker 2: Like we had that moment too.
- 34:44Speaker 2: We're like we figured it out, do a little research and a whole lot of experimenting.
- 34:51Speaker 2: But, yes, just be intentional with not only the harvesting but also the final product, like how are you going to consume it or use it or share it?
- 35:03Speaker 1: Yes, that's's really really important, because nothing goes to waste.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Do we have waste not want?
- 35:08Speaker 2: not, that's just that, that kind of mentality it's just like food like you wouldn't go to the grocery store, get a bunch of food and just let it rot and throw it away like what a waste.
- 35:16Speaker 2: So don't take the plant plant people for granted.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Absolutely not.
- 35:22Speaker 2: And that was God's plan.
- 35:22Speaker 2: He was like here we're going to give you a ton of material to work with.
- 35:26Speaker 1: What a blessing A ton I have and y'all are going to be forced to figure out what to do with it.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Like, bust open all the books, ask a friend.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Like, here it is, and I feel like we nailed it.
- 35:44Speaker 2: We did such a good job utilizing the plant medicine and coming with the beginnings of such a beautiful pharmacy, and we're still getting started and we were so ahead of our time.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah, actually, looking back, of like, working with cannabis.
- 35:52Speaker 1: I'm so impressed by the trusting and the knowing and just doing Like, not just talking about it being about it.
- 36:00Speaker 1: Because, honestly, if it was not for us growing that much of cannabis being put in that beautiful position, a beautiful position to to thrive and strive, we'd be thriving and striving.
- 36:12Speaker 1: We would not be here today.
- 36:14Speaker 1: We would not, we could have gave it up, we could have thrown in the towel and said, to heck with it, it's too hard, it's sticky.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Just kidding, it's the resin alone.
- 36:29Speaker 1: Oh, my god, yeah, and like everyone's so excited, we had so many angels on our side that came out of you being you and you are my walkie talkie.
- 36:40Speaker 1: Oh, you're my angel girl.
- 36:41Speaker 1: But like, seriously, you come and you help me pull weeds.
- 36:44Speaker 1: You're like girl, like we went out there.
- 36:46Speaker 2: I'm like sunshine we got to save the plants and you're like ow, you just went right into work.
- 36:51Speaker 1: You were just like here's what we got to do.
- 36:53Speaker 2: We got to find a verse.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Yeah, we got to.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I You're in there ass up like ripping out weeds.
- 37:05Speaker 1: Face down, ass up.
- 37:05Speaker 2: That's the way we like to garden.
- 37:06Speaker 2: It was amazing, I was like, and the babies were with us.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Oh gosh, that was so fun, the kids, they were babies at that time it just felt right.
- 37:13Speaker 2: It did, it felt right.
- 37:14Speaker 2: What else were we going to do?
- 37:16Speaker 1: Some of the best conversations, some of the best, and just putting in that blood and like that.
- 37:24Speaker 2: that investment of energy investment there, I feel like, is why our medicine is so high vibing yeah yeah, there's not a part of that that we don't touch at one point or another, probably multiple times right with with our, with our super awesome pharmacy.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Yeah, it's great but, confused.
- 37:40Speaker 1: But what's great is that now, even getting to know, having such a deep relationship with cannabis, I feel like I have a really good relationship with her.
- 37:50Speaker 1: You know, dating 20 years back from when I had first started using her, as bad as it, and not really knowing then what that meant.
- 38:02Speaker 1: But fast forward to today and how I love to honor her and boast about her and share her.
- 38:11Speaker 2: We eat her, we smoke her, we drink her, share with her, but Lather and lather.
- 38:17Speaker 1: I mean, I just love her so much, she's been so, so giving, and I just, yeah, I owe her everything to go tell it on the mountain.
- 38:28Speaker 1: And I feel like this is my best way to honor and pay homage to her as being a huge advocate for her youth and all of her super sweet little plant ally friends that are out there.
- 38:40Speaker 1: And she's like, hey, hey, lend a hand back and let's not forget about my buds, right?
- 38:47Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely 100.
- 38:51Speaker 1: We have a sweet little uh, flora kingdom too.
- 38:55Speaker 1: So does fungi and the fauna.
- 38:58Speaker 1: It's all our own little plant kingdoms here working together for symbiotic synergy.
- 39:05Speaker 2: The entourage effect.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Which I have to, I don't.
- 39:08Speaker 1: I do want to say on here that these single compound, isolate medicines are not the vibe.
- 39:19Speaker 1: It's not.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Don't do it.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Use the whole plant, full spectrum.
- 39:24Speaker 1: You need CBD, thc, cbg, cbn all of them to work together in the plant.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Wisconsin should not be settling for these beverages that are just using a Delta 9, a single cannabinoid, because it's solely about the high.
- 39:43Speaker 1: It has nothing to do with the healing.
- 39:45Speaker 1: At that point I'm yelling.
- 39:46Speaker 1: I'm sorry, that is just.
- 39:48Speaker 1: We're missing the point of the plant.
- 39:50Speaker 1: And if we don't start talking about this a little bit more maybe even getting feeling some type of way, nothing's going to change.
- 39:58Speaker 1: So being an advocate is saying no, this is not right.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Wisconsin, do not settle for this nonsense.
- 40:07Speaker 1: They've been feeding you in a can.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Do not crack it open, do not buy it, do not support it.
- 40:12Speaker 1: You're not helping yourself.
- 40:14Speaker 1: It is solely about just getting high.
- 40:16Speaker 1: And I'll tell you what cannabis is.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Cannabis sativa is not.
- 40:21Speaker 1: She's not happy about that.
- 40:22Speaker 1: She's over here saying really, really, guys, I only have a hundred and eleven more compounds available.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Why are you guys so obsessed with this?
- 40:33Speaker 1: It's a great introduction, yes, maybe it's realizing the potential, of course, but it's not sustainable, friends.
- 40:38Speaker 1: It's course, but it's not sustainable, friends.
- 40:40Speaker 1: It's just not sustainable.
- 40:41Speaker 1: It's not how she intended.
- 40:46Speaker 2: She's not just beautiful, she has brains too.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I love the whole lady.
- 40:53Speaker 1: She wants you to experience the entire vibe, not just the high.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Okay, okay, yes, if you have any questions about that, get that.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Get at me, who's got the soapbox bring?
- 41:03Speaker 2: it out.
- 41:03Speaker 2: I'm standing up on it I'm over it.
- 41:05Speaker 1: I'm seriously over these beverages and the single cannabinoid compounded drinks that are just garbage.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Honestly, I'm sure in a social setting you want to get high use in moderation.
- 41:17Speaker 1: I can't say that okay, here, now I'm ready to walk it back.
- 41:21Speaker 1: It's just hard because at Cheryl's Club we do serve them and I do like having an offering when people are out and about and want to partake in an elevated social experience.
- 41:36Speaker 1: I have nothing but love for that.
- 41:37Speaker 1: I have nothing but love for that.
- 41:39Speaker 1: But I don't want us to get in a position where we're settling for this and not pushing for legalization and decriminalization of the cannabis plant.
- 41:47Speaker 2: We still want those options, but we want all the options.
- 41:50Speaker 2: We want to be able to grow our own.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Yes, and use it in our own backyard Mm-hmm, and do with it what we will.
- 41:57Speaker 1: Yeah, but we're not settling for just saying can you have a noise Come?
- 42:00Speaker 2: on Wisconsin Keep pushing through.
- 42:02Speaker 1: We can do this and they're turning the other cheek because they're still getting tax dollars on it and retailers are loving this right now.
- 42:09Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, Retailers are having a heyday.
- 42:12Speaker 1: They're like oh, distribution.
- 42:13Speaker 1: No one's being held accountable, insurance premiums are being raised for the small business carrying these products and the legality of it all is so hairy-carry.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Nobody knows what's what.
- 42:28Speaker 1: No one wants to, you know, blow the thorn and you don't have to have a special license to be able to sell any of these products.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Anyone with a seller's permit can sell these products, which is kind of crazy, because that's like any store, which I mean whatever you got to do to feed your family and hustle and eat.
- 42:47Speaker 1: But where's the knowledge?
- 42:48Speaker 1: Where's the knowing?
- 42:49Speaker 1: Where's it coming from?
- 42:51Speaker 2: Yeah, where's it coming from?
- 42:52Speaker 2: They're not all farmers.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Where are these?
- 42:54Speaker 1: single cannabinoids coming from the Delta 9s.
- 42:56Speaker 2: I'll tell you what they're not coming from your own backyard.
- 42:58Speaker 2: They're coming from across the state lines.
- 43:02Speaker 1: And they aren't supporting our local economy here in Wisconsin, which is a problem Huge.
- 43:09Speaker 1: Had it over done.
- 43:11Speaker 1: Rant over Sorry, not sorry, cut that was beautiful.
- 43:16Speaker 2: Bubbles Way to give it to them.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Who do we gotta?
- 43:19Speaker 1: talk to yeah.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Because it's a really lack of knowledge and understanding.
- 43:26Speaker 2: It really is deep knowing do you think, like the dea and everybody that's supposed to enforce all these laws, it's like there's a serious misconnection between the lawmakers and the enforcers and the regulators and the growers, policy makers yeah.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Like.
- 43:44Speaker 2: None of the dots are connecting and it's scary For consumers Because you don't know what you're getting.
- 43:50Speaker 2: You don't know where it's coming from Single source, it's not where we're going with it.
- 43:56Speaker 2: It's giving cannabis a bad name and that's not what we're here for.
- 43:59Speaker 2: No, we're here to let her shine.
- 44:01Speaker 1: We need to reign this in and work with progressive people who understand and know the Earth's energy, and that's going to take all types.
- 44:10Speaker 1: It's going to take all types.
- 44:10Speaker 1: It's going to take a tribe, and that's why I loved the WSCA, the Wisconsin Safety Cannabis Alliance.
- 44:17Speaker 1: I feel like the heart, the intention, was there.
- 44:19Speaker 1: It was just really the dots still need to be connected and good news is that us fine folks at DNA Hemp are in the fields, putting in the good work, and you can check out our website, dnahempllccom, and check out our natural pharmacy that we're so, so proud to share with you.
- 44:37Speaker 1: This is love medicine, people.
- 44:39Speaker 1: But we are just getting started because we haven't even tapped into the grain and fiber program here in Wisconsin.
- 44:44Speaker 1: This is just.
- 44:46Speaker 1: We're just talking about medicine, not even just like the future of our big agriculture here that we're offering, that are helping farmers that are literally like dying on the vine, taking their own lives because they're having trouble making ends meet, because they keep getting begged over by the system for bottom dollar commodities, and that's just not how it's supposed to be.
- 45:09Speaker 1: Get back to the grow your own.
- 45:10Speaker 1: I'm not settling until we can grow our own cannabis without.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Everyone should be able to allow to grow at least 20 plants Flower to the people.
- 45:23Speaker 1: I'm not saying okay, of course, if you want to grow acres on acres and package that up and sell that to your processors, yes, you should have a special license.
- 45:35Speaker 1: But the average Joe who just wants some weed to smoke should not have to jump through all those hoops and testing and on and on and be threatened to be thrown in jail if he gets caught with a plant.
- 45:48Speaker 1: It just doesn't make sense and I've had it.
- 45:51Speaker 1: I've had enough.
- 45:52Speaker 1: We are going for a growing around decriminalization, rescheduling and power to the people.
- 46:01Speaker 2: And first on that list is getting all those prisoners out for doing pretty much what we're doing right now.
- 46:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:12Speaker 2: What?
- 46:12Speaker 2: Scratch your head off.
- 46:13Speaker 2: No, you need to come out.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Come out.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just being brave.
- 46:19Speaker 2: That's not cool.
- 46:19Speaker 2: They're not criminals.
- 46:22Speaker 2: That's just not criminal activity and I know every case I you know geez, yes, but it just proves to me time and time again how much potential this play plant has.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Otherwise there wouldn't be such a fuss about it right, yep, we went there.
- 46:40Speaker 2: I don't know another plant that we're like?
- 46:42Speaker 2: No, no, pine trees.
