- 0:00Speaker 1: Mister New York Mark Simone wor well, Hey, do we
- 0:08Speaker 1: have Liz Peak. Yep, we're getting there, the great columnist,
- 0:13Speaker 1: Liz Peak. We'll talk to her about all sorts of
- 0:16Speaker 1: stuff coming up. Now. The caller before I said something
- 0:20Speaker 1: about the fire truck at the airport LaGuardia that got
- 0:24Speaker 1: hit by the plane, not being a New York City
- 0:27Speaker 1: Fire department. Well, so I checked. Apparently Port Authority fire
- 0:33Speaker 1: handles fires. It's Port Authority fire trucks, but they're backed
- 0:36Speaker 1: up by the New York Fire Department. So and just
- 0:39Speaker 1: in a massive coincidence, I'm am seeing a lunch today
- 0:41Speaker 1: for the fire commissioner. So I'll get you a definite
- 0:44Speaker 1: answer on that. We'll do it. We'll bring it to
- 0:47Speaker 1: you tomorrow, but with us right now. Liz Peak, the
- 0:49Speaker 1: brilliant columnist, and you'll see her all over television. You
- 0:53Speaker 1: read her columns on Foxnews dot com, The Hill dot com,
- 0:56Speaker 1: and even better, check her website lizpeak dot com for

- 1:09Speaker 2: How you doing, I'm terrific. Thank you? How about you?
- 1:13Speaker 1: I'm good. I'm good. Where do we even start the shutdown?
- 1:17Speaker 1: The three hour lines, the four hour lines at the airport.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Who's going to get the blame for all of this?
- 1:23Speaker 3: I think everyone is getting blamed for this, honestly, Mark,
- 1:28Speaker 3: I mean, I think Republicans are taking the brunt of it,
- 1:32Speaker 3: even though it is Democrats who basically have shut down
- 1:35Speaker 3: the government by refusing to fund DHS.
- 1:38Speaker 2: But Republicans are refusing to fund part.
- 1:41Speaker 3: Of DHS at the Transportation Security Administration, which mainly is
- 1:47Speaker 3: responsible for all these lines that are making people crazy
- 1:51Speaker 3: across the country. And I got to tell you, I
- 1:54Speaker 3: really do think people are just angry at everybody about it.
- 1:57Speaker 3: But because Republicans are in the majority and they have
- 2:01Speaker 3: the White House.
- 2:02Speaker 2: You know, the buck stops with them.
- 2:04Speaker 3: And a lot of people are saying, look, I don't
- 2:06Speaker 3: care who's to blame, just fix it. And I'm kind
- 2:09Speaker 3: of in that camp because, honestly, I have so many
- 2:12Speaker 3: friends and relatives who have been waiting. Can you imagine
- 2:15Speaker 3: going to the airport four hours early, as the son
- 2:18Speaker 3: of a friend of mine did on the weekend, and
- 2:21Speaker 3: almost missing your flight. I mean, the stress level of
- 2:24Speaker 3: all that, and he wasn't traveling with little babies and
- 2:27Speaker 3: old people. I mean, imagine if you're trying to get
- 2:30Speaker 3: a family through TSA and you have to wait for
- 2:32Speaker 3: three hours. I mean, honestly, our legislators even thinking about
- 2:36Speaker 3: these people are putting themselves in their shoes. Well, no
- 2:40Speaker 3: they're not, because guess what they get escorted through security.
- 2:44Speaker 3: That's a custom in almost every airport. And look, I
- 2:47Speaker 3: understand why, maybe it's necessary for security reasons. But you know,
- 2:51Speaker 3: I'll tell you right now. If you are a representative
- 2:54Speaker 3: of mine and I was in a four hour line
- 2:56Speaker 3: and I saw you whisking through the airport, I would
- 2:59Speaker 3: not be happy.
- 3:00Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, they say that's why Congress did not leave
- 3:03Speaker 1: Washington this weekend. They didn't want to be seen being
- 3:06Speaker 1: wisked through. So, but why is government so allergic to
- 3:10Speaker 1: the private sector. You know, you could bring in private
- 3:12Speaker 1: Some airports use private security and they have no problems. Yeah,
- 3:15Speaker 1: Elon Musk is offered to pay all the TSA workers.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Why not cooperate with the private sector more?
- 3:20Speaker 2: Well, it's a good question.
- 3:22Speaker 3: In fact, there are airports, isn't it Seattle or oddly enough,
- 3:26Speaker 3: some West coast airport that is maybe San Francisco run private.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Security and it is very successful.
- 3:33Speaker 3: They don't have this problem, of course, but in general,
- 3:37Speaker 3: my understanding is it's very successful. Why wouldn't that be
- 3:41Speaker 3: an appealing alternative. Why don't we shift over to privately funded,
- 3:46Speaker 3: privately run tsa everywhere in the country Because these are
- 3:50Speaker 3: government employees.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Democrats love government.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Employees, which is why they were hysterical when Elon Musk's
- 3:58Speaker 3: doge effort began to hut the ranks of government employment.
- 4:03Speaker 2: And they vote Democratic almost always.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Now, after this problem, maybe they won't be so eager
- 4:09Speaker 3: to do that. But generally speaking, it is a very
- 4:13Speaker 3: incestuous system where Democrats vote ever bigger benefits and paychecks
- 4:19Speaker 3: for government employees unions, and the unions vote for Democrats.
- 4:23Speaker 3: I mean, it's really a pretty horrible system, which is
- 4:27Speaker 3: why I remember FDR said public employees should never be unionized,
- 4:31Speaker 3: and I think he was totally right.
- 4:33Speaker 1: Yeah, Hey, Liz peak when it comes to Iran, I'm
- 4:36Speaker 1: watching CNN or MSNBC and they put on somebody like
- 4:39Speaker 1: Senator Mark Kelly who's yelling and screaming the president has
- 4:42Speaker 1: no plan, there's no plan, there's no goal, there's no objective,
- 4:45Speaker 1: it's a little irresponsible to claim. I'm sure there's a
- 4:47Speaker 1: lot of planning and if you can't figure out what
- 4:50Speaker 1: our goal is in Iran, there's really something wrong with you,
- 4:52Speaker 1: isn't there.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I think this is really offensive.
- 4:56Speaker 3: It's just whatever Donald Trump does must be wrong in
- 5:00Speaker 3: the eyes of Democrats. But for people like Mark Kelly,
- 5:04Speaker 3: who has a pretty solid understanding of what the military
- 5:07Speaker 3: world is like, to assume that you would go into
- 5:10Speaker 3: this conflict, which by the way, has been extraordinarily successful
- 5:16Speaker 3: in a very short period of time in degrading the
- 5:20Speaker 3: enemy's military response and pretend that we don't know what
- 5:25Speaker 3: we're doing. Ay, that's incredibly bad for Morales, A shame
- 5:28Speaker 3: for him, Shame on him be he must know better.
- 5:31Speaker 3: But see, he is just wildly antagonistic to this administration
- 5:37Speaker 3: because they called him out on a number of occasions
- 5:40Speaker 3: for making utterances, including the one where they told he
- 5:44Speaker 3: basically told our military people men and women, not to
- 5:49Speaker 3: obey a order if you don't believe it's it's legitimate,
- 5:53Speaker 3: and that is like inciting rebellion in our armed forces.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I mean, what is he?
- 5:59Speaker 3: Who is he to make that comment and what does
- 6:03Speaker 3: he think the ramifications of it would be it was
- 6:05Speaker 3: incredibly irresponsible. So he you know, the administration has sought
- 6:12Speaker 3: legal action against him, They want to demote him, strip
- 6:15Speaker 3: him of his rank, et cetera.
- 6:17Speaker 2: And I think they were right. I thought that was
- 6:18Speaker 2: a pretty horrible thing he did. But he's an angry.
- 6:22Speaker 3: Man and he's kind of laying it all out there
- 6:24Speaker 3: and being as offensive as he possibly can. But to
- 6:26Speaker 3: your point, yeah, Mark, he's it's really bad acting.
- 6:29Speaker 2: In my view speak speaking.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Of offensive, this mayor and his wife. The mayor is
- 6:34Speaker 1: going to prison to pray with the prisoners of all
- 6:37Speaker 1: murdered people. The wife is illustrating the most anti semitic
- 6:41Speaker 1: stuff in the world. Are we going to get through
- 6:43Speaker 1: these four years?
- 6:43Speaker 2: Okay, really good question. Let's just hope it's not eight.
- 6:48Speaker 3: Let's hope we do somehow rally the forces of opposition
- 6:52Speaker 3: and get rid of this guy after four years. My
- 6:55Speaker 3: view is, Mom, Donnie is an extraordinary politician in the
- 6:59Speaker 3: sense that he has done absolutely nothing to broaden his
- 7:03Speaker 3: base to appeal to voters who did not support him
- 7:07Speaker 3: in the mayoral election. I think he was selected accidentally.
- 7:11Speaker 3: He's one of these accidental wins where you went up
- 7:14Speaker 3: against a truly hideously unpopular former governor Andrew Cuomo, who
- 7:21Speaker 3: people really didn't like, and you had a sort of
- 7:24Speaker 3: cardboard cutout forgive me Curtis Leewah Republican candidate that no
- 7:29Speaker 3: one took very seriously. So Mamdani had a clear lane.
- 7:32Speaker 3: He became mayor, and he is rubbing our noses in
- 7:37Speaker 3: everything that we find offensive. And I gotta tell you, yes,
- 7:42Speaker 3: going to the prison to pray with people of Muslim
- 7:45Speaker 3: faith instead of ever paying any slight attention to or
- 7:51Speaker 3: showing concern for the victims of crimes that these people
- 7:54Speaker 3: have committed. Honestly, Mark, how insane is that? It certainly
- 7:59Speaker 3: can't be popular unless you're a complete hair brain, fire
- 8:03Speaker 3: on hair liberal. This just doesn't make any sense. So
- 8:07Speaker 3: shame on him, But shame on voters for letting this happen.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Shame on the Jewish community for not realizing what was
- 8:14Speaker 3: about to happen to their people in New York, whom
- 8:18Speaker 3: this guy has no regard for whatsoever.
- 8:21Speaker 2: I think it's absolutely hideous. And again, let's just make
- 8:25Speaker 2: sure it's not eight years.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Well, we love Curtis, but if Andrew Cuomo, you're right,
- 8:30Speaker 1: had stayed out of this. Who knows things might have
- 8:32Speaker 1: been to Can you imagine a guy getting run out
- 8:34Speaker 1: of office, quits and scandal leaves in disgrace, with the
- 8:37Speaker 1: police chasing them out of all.
- 8:39Speaker 3: I mean, honestly, and this is the guy we're going
- 8:41Speaker 3: to make a mayor of New York here. You know,
- 8:44Speaker 3: it's a real insight. Democrats have no options, right, I mean,
- 8:49Speaker 3: most Republicans come from the business world or they have
- 8:52Speaker 3: something to go back to.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Democrats have nothing. They are not able to run a
- 8:57Speaker 2: restaurant or build you know, a cement planned or you
- 9:01Speaker 2: name it.
- 9:02Speaker 3: I mean, honestly, show me five Democrats who have left
- 9:05Speaker 3: office and done anything but run for some other office.
- 9:09Speaker 3: That's all they can think of. It's really it is
- 9:11Speaker 3: a it's like a life sinecure to be on the
- 9:14Speaker 3: public dole. And I don't mean welfare, but I mean
- 9:18Speaker 3: the taxpayer dole. And that's and that is kind of
- 9:22Speaker 3: their default option. Count on or be a commentator at
- 9:27Speaker 3: CNBC or MSNBC.
- 9:30Speaker 2: That's also possible.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Yeah, well, very good point. Liz Peak brilliant as always.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Everybody a reader columns foxnews dot Com. You can go
