- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, there's a huge Halloween set up at somebody's house
- 0:03Speaker 1: in the yard.
- 0:03Speaker 2: It's been there for years in Clifton, New Jersey.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Oh, yes.
- 0:06Speaker 3: This guy's famous for it.
- 0:07Speaker 1: You might want to go there soon. It might be
- 0:09Speaker 1: taken down. It's Light FM, Cubby, Christine, producer Kristen. And
- 0:12Speaker 1: I've been hearing about this story, but explain more if you.
- 0:15Speaker 2: Could, please.
- 0:16Speaker 3: So in Clifton, Cubby, there's a dentist, Dr. Wayne Ganji,
- 0:19Speaker 3: who's really like famous in our area. And, you know,
- 0:23Speaker 3: people are getting to know him even outside the area
- 0:25Speaker 3: because he puts up these huge Halloween displays. Like he
- 0:28Speaker 3: has a million mannequins. He dresses them up. He does
- 0:31Speaker 3: a lot of scary stuff with effects. And people like it.
- 0:34Speaker 2: I feel like every town has one of those houses.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Where it's just really cool, really overdone. But, yeah, most
- 0:40Speaker 2: people enjoy it.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Right.
- 0:41Speaker 3: This guy's over the top. And it's been like this
- 0:43Speaker 3: seriously for like 25 years. Yeah, 25 years he's been
- 0:47Speaker 3: doing this. Well, this year the city of Clifton was like, uh-oh, sorry, no.
- 0:52Speaker 3: You're going across like the grassy area that's public property.
- 0:56Speaker 3: That's not really your property, no, like across the sidewalk.
- 1:00Speaker 3: He's not supposed to put stuff there. He put up
- 1:02Speaker 3: some corn stalks and stuff. And they flagged safety concerns
- 1:06Speaker 3: regarding extension cords and lights. And Clifton City Manager Gary
- 1:13Speaker 3: DiMarzo said the city must enforce its ordinances fairly and
- 1:17Speaker 3: consistently for public safety. So they're kind of like, I'm sorry,
- 1:22Speaker 3: we have to. We have to find you. We have
- 1:23Speaker 3: to tell you this. So Dr. Ganji's response was, after
- 1:29Speaker 3: all of these complaints, I'm taking it down and I
- 1:32Speaker 3: am returning 3,000 Costco candy bars. that we're supposed to
- 1:37Speaker 3: go to trick-or-treaters because I also have to pay a fine.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Wow. So he's putting his foot down. If you don't
- 1:42Speaker 2: want it, you're not going to get it.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:44Speaker 3: So, like, you know, it's kind of mixed in the neighborhood.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Some people are happy that it's going away. Right. And
- 1:49Speaker 2: some people are saying, no.
- 1:51Speaker 1: No.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Don't do it.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:52Speaker 3: And Costco's probably going to be like, no, because he's
- 1:55Speaker 3: returning 3,000 Costco candy bars.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Now, is he being a little passive-aggressive by saying that? Like, oh,
- 2:01Speaker 1: just take all these candy bars I was going to
- 2:03Speaker 1: give to the kids.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Well, that's it.
- 2:04Speaker 3: You know, I think he's serious because he is getting
- 2:07Speaker 3: fined for this. And right. And he says he's got
- 2:10Speaker 3: to cover the fine. I don't know.
- 2:12Speaker 1: Also, people were saying how it brings a lot of
- 2:14Speaker 1: traffic in the neighborhood and they don't like it, but
- 2:16Speaker 1: it's pretty split though.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Again, there's people that say, I love it every year. Right.
- 2:20Speaker 2: People got engaged there before.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:22Speaker 2: And it's a really, we've seen the video. It's a
- 2:24Speaker 2: really nice setup.
- 2:25Speaker 3: Oh, I've driven past it a million times. Yeah. I
- 2:27Speaker 3: live near there. So I've seen it. It's, dense like
- 2:31Speaker 3: and so every little bit of his property is taken
- 2:35Speaker 3: up so i i guess he spilled over.
- 2:37Speaker 2: A little and well you know what in just 10
- 2:39Speaker 2: days they have to go down.
- 2:40Speaker 3: Yeah it'll be november 1st and he does switch over
- 2:43Speaker 3: to christmas i believe oh does.
- 2:44Speaker 1: He all right we'll see how this plays out all
- 2:46Speaker 1: right you have the headlines coming up christine and what
- 2:48Speaker 1: else
- 2:49Speaker 3: Um okay if you have to ask your man for
- 2:51Speaker 3: a favor the perfect time of day to get him
- 2:54Speaker 3: to do something
