- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey guys, welcome back to another episode of the Almostimous podcast.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Ben is not here. And I know Ben and I
- 0:13Speaker 2: have been doing very few podcasts together lately. It's been sad,
- 0:17Speaker 2: but it's because I'm not allowed to do the housewive
- 0:20Speaker 2: podcasts that he's doing with Lauren, which are I love.
- 0:24Speaker 2: And then he's been out shooting his show and he's.
- 0:28Speaker 3: Also like, you know, living his life. He took a
- 0:32Speaker 3: nice vacation, which he so deserves. So it's summertime.
- 0:37Speaker 2: So sorry. It will resume to regular schedule programming in
- 0:42Speaker 2: the next month or so, all right, but until then,
- 0:45Speaker 2: don't we love having Heather. Heather is such an expert
- 0:48Speaker 2: because Heather does give such insight as to casting. She's
- 0:55Speaker 2: a pop culture She's very, very educated on pop culture.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Cleonline is what Ashley's trying to say.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Oh, but we are great full for it. You have
- 1:05Speaker 2: so much good insight. So this first headline he responded
- 1:10Speaker 2: just perfectly. Chris Harrison has been asked. He was at
- 1:15Speaker 2: a golf championship this weekend and he was asked about
- 1:19Speaker 2: the Taylor Frankie Paul drama, and he had a great response.
- 1:23Speaker 2: He said, I'll say this all this makes me more
- 1:26Speaker 2: excited about my new show. I mean that is PR
- 1:30Speaker 2: savvy Chris Harrison. No, well, you know Chris has had
- 1:34Speaker 2: his moment of not being PR savvy. We've seen it.
- 1:37Speaker 2: But this is a great answer. And then he said
- 1:43Speaker 2: that he is excited about the show that he has
- 1:47Speaker 2: produced executive produced with his wife Lauren that's going to
- 1:50Speaker 2: be on Fox Nation. It's coming out this fall. He said,
- 1:53Speaker 2: it's a dating love show that I've always wanted to
- 1:55Speaker 2: do after seeing what's going on with Bachelor Nation and
- 1:59Speaker 2: watching other shows. He says that all the shows that
- 2:01Speaker 2: I'm watching, I'm excited to be bringing something different. I
- 2:06Speaker 2: think what he means is he's doing a dating show
- 2:08Speaker 2: that's like pretty wholesome. It is about it's very marriage oriented.
- 2:15Speaker 2: It's about people that like want a calm, happy dating
- 2:19Speaker 2: environment and not one where there'll be a lot of
- 2:24Speaker 2: drama thrown their way.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I'm gonna jump in and say that there's gonna have
- 2:28Speaker 3: to be some sort of drama. It's a TV show,
- 2:31Speaker 3: so there will be something, but it's I just think
- 2:34Speaker 3: it's leaning more to We're not going to be seeing
- 2:36Speaker 3: people in bikinis doing Love Island kind of stuff. Is
- 2:40Speaker 3: I get that vibe?
- 2:42Speaker 2: Yeah? Like I said, I've only watched one episode of
- 2:45Speaker 2: Love Island and the guy was bragging about sleeping with
- 2:48Speaker 2: four hundred women, and I was just like, I don't
- 2:50Speaker 2: think it's the show for me.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Well, if anybody's listening, it's the show for Heather her.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Heather is very proud of herself because she actually hasn't
- 2:58Speaker 3: fallen behind on I have watched all thirty something on Time.
- 3:05Speaker 3: The only ones I skip are after Son, because let's
- 3:07Speaker 3: be real, we all skip after Son. But I'm I'm
- 3:12Speaker 3: fully I've made it part of my daily routine and
- 3:15Speaker 3: that's how I stick with it and like keep on
- 3:18Speaker 3: track every single night. I'm like, all right, little bit
- 3:20Speaker 3: of Love Island while I'm working, and I'm in Okay,
- 3:23Speaker 3: I got it, No who got kicked off? I'm good bye.
- 3:25Speaker 2: So I just can't watch shows that I'm not fully
- 3:29Speaker 2: invested in. I'm just not a background watcher. Like I
- 3:31Speaker 2: can't watch and work at the same time because then
- 3:35Speaker 2: I will end up rewinding every scene.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Be like what I will do a whole thing where
- 3:41Speaker 3: I will crank up the volume if I think something
- 3:44Speaker 3: like really important's happening, and then I'll like mute. So
- 3:48Speaker 3: like Love Island every single night does like a really
- 3:50Speaker 3: nice recap at the beginning of every episode of anything
- 3:53Speaker 3: you missed from the previous one. So I don't ever
- 3:56Speaker 3: feel like I'm super at a loss. I will say,
- 4:00Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe because I'm just getting older. The
- 4:03Speaker 3: show is not clicking with me like it used to.
- 4:08Speaker 3: I think it is part of a generational thing and
- 4:10Speaker 3: just how gen Z communicates and acts in these kinds
- 4:15Speaker 3: of environments that's very different than the millennial dating shows
- 4:19Speaker 3: we've been watching for the last decade. So It'll be interesting,
- 4:23Speaker 3: honestly to see how things play out on this Chris
- 4:26Speaker 3: Harrison one, because I'm assuming it will also be gen Z.
- 4:30Speaker 2: See, I'm feeling like it's gonna be millennials, just like
- 4:33Speaker 2: the Younger Tale, and like they're gonna be early thirties.
- 4:36Speaker 2: But you're right, like, how do you have a getting
- 4:38Speaker 2: show of just early thirties?
- 4:40Speaker 3: Even younger millennial is now like mid thirties.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Well, technically, I think the last year is they're turning thirty.
- 4:48Speaker 2: I think the millennial the last year of millennials turning
- 4:51Speaker 2: thirty this year, which I feel like the I think
- 4:54Speaker 2: that's the technical thing. That's technical. Do I agree that
- 4:58Speaker 2: a part of our generation? Yeah, they're too cuspy, Yeah,
- 5:02Speaker 2: they're far so Wait, I want to know what do you.
- 5:06Speaker 2: I don't know if I can pinpoint the difference between
- 5:09Speaker 2: gen z and and millennial, but I just think overall,
- 5:13Speaker 2: we're like much more well, I think we're harder workers
- 5:17Speaker 2: for sure.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Don't I get into it?
- 5:20Speaker 2: Well, please please, And then we're also much more polite
- 5:23Speaker 2: and social, and they like, don't give any gurus. Oh sorry,
- 5:28Speaker 2: I said that.
- 5:29Speaker 3: It's fine. I also love that you say that. By
- 5:31Speaker 3: the way, I'd never heard anybody save Garup.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I just only say Drew. I guess I think it
- 5:36Speaker 2: like lightens it. It's funny. Yeah, they're.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I've said this to somebody else that's watching this season.
- 5:44Speaker 3: The language that they use this is like gonna sound weird,
- 5:50Speaker 3: but they use therapy terms and very not typical terms
- 5:58Speaker 3: you would hear a twenty some thing use. And I
- 6:02Speaker 3: think it's because of just the chronic online the buzzwords
- 6:07Speaker 3: that are being used, like they constantly are saying to
- 6:11Speaker 3: each other, like your feelings are valid, your feelings are valid,
- 6:14Speaker 3: and it's like, yes, I never would have said that
- 6:18Speaker 3: when I was twenty one years old to somebody else,
- 6:21Speaker 3: you know. So it's very much like some of that
- 6:23Speaker 3: stuff where I'm like, you say words and you don't.
- 6:28Speaker 3: It makes you sound older than you are, and I
- 6:30Speaker 3: don't know if you fully understand what you're saying. And
- 6:33Speaker 3: then they actually have said a lot of words, like
- 6:36Speaker 3: simple words like incorrectly. I can't think of one off
- 6:41Speaker 3: the top of my head right now. But it's like
- 6:44Speaker 3: instead of compromise, like an example, instead of compromise, we're
- 6:48Speaker 3: gonna comprise. Ah, yes, yeah, things like that, and it's like, uh,
- 6:56Speaker 3: but it's I will say that the environment because they're
- 7:03Speaker 3: constantly together and it is very It's produced in a
- 7:07Speaker 3: different way than The Bachelor, and I think that's why
- 7:09Speaker 3: it resonates with an audience is the sense that producers
- 7:13Speaker 3: actually never enter the villa, so they never see them.
- 7:18Speaker 2: What oh yeah, so you only talk to them in confessional.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Rooms only and they never see them dru.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Like the speaker. That's what we did on Stars on Mars. Yeah,
- 7:27Speaker 2: so I didn't like it.
- 7:28Speaker 3: The villa has like over eighty hidden cameras, so that's
- 7:33Speaker 3: what's filming them at all times. So they there's no
- 7:36Speaker 3: camera crew in your face, absolutely no camera crew, no producers.
- 7:39Speaker 3: The people come in to feed them, and that is
- 7:43Speaker 3: not The only meal that's shown on the show is breakfast.
- 7:46Speaker 3: You don't see them eat lunch and dinner. And that's
- 7:49Speaker 3: because they come in feed them and they separate them.
- 7:53Speaker 2: To see them like the animals and the.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Seale literally and they make them separate. They make the
- 7:58Speaker 3: boys and the girls separate meals, and they're not allowed
- 8:01Speaker 3: to talk like when they eat and so. And what's
- 8:04Speaker 3: also crazy is they have the drink rule as well,
- 8:09Speaker 3: so to see then they get the drinks. You can't
- 8:12Speaker 3: see what I'm doing with my hands. The amount of
- 8:14Speaker 3: alcohol in their cup is so tiny during the end
- 8:18Speaker 3: of the night that I'm just like, so you did
- 8:21Speaker 3: all that weird shit, Yeah, sober.
- 8:26Speaker 2: This is why you're on the podcast. Okay, you know
- 8:30Speaker 2: all of these details. It's it's crazy. I mean the
- 8:34Speaker 2: show to me, I still do stand by that.
- 8:37Speaker 3: I think Love Island is one of the greatest dating
- 8:40Speaker 3: shows of all time, just because I mean, they do
- 8:43Speaker 3: the bombshell thing better than anybody. And then just the
- 8:47Speaker 3: fact that they have America voting and randomly the Islanders
- 8:51Speaker 3: will be told like you're kicked out of the villa
- 8:53Speaker 3: because America doesn't like you. Like that is an element
- 8:56Speaker 3: that other shows don't imagine.
- 8:59Speaker 2: I would be eliminated so early on if I have. Yeah,
- 9:04Speaker 2: there were times if people wud be like Ashley and
- 9:07Speaker 2: you're done, You're done.
- 9:08Speaker 3: So Amaya Papaya from last season was very Ashley coated
- 9:12Speaker 3: and she won. Are you kidding me?
- 9:15Speaker 2: You would?
- 9:15Speaker 3: You could have been a villa favorite like Amaya. Papaya
- 9:19Speaker 3: was crying all the time and she was singing to herself.
- 9:22Speaker 3: She was like an neb SAIDA was perfect and that
- 9:25Speaker 3: is actually a very accurate portrayal of how she sang
- 9:28Speaker 3: just what I did, and we loved her for it.
- 9:32Speaker 3: So you would definitely transpire onto the Love Island audience
- 9:36Speaker 3: if that had been your avenue. I just you would
- 9:39Speaker 3: have been very scared being a virgin in the villa.
- 9:42Speaker 3: That would have been actually horrific for you. I don't
- 9:45Speaker 3: know if they've had a virgin in the villa. I
- 9:48Speaker 3: feel like they have on UK, but I don't know
- 9:51Speaker 3: about US. I haven't watched all the US seasons. To
- 9:54Speaker 3: be totally fair. I watched more UK before I transitioned over.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Wow, so thank you for the deets, though, I mean
- 10:00Speaker 2: you're making me actually a little interested in watching. But
- 10:03Speaker 2: I can barely get through one episode of a scripted
- 10:06Speaker 2: show per week.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Yeah you can't.
- 10:08Speaker 2: I keep falling asleep in the middle of Cape Fear.
- 10:11Speaker 2: So like Cape Fear has been met my like what,
- 10:14Speaker 2: she makes a weird face.
- 10:15Speaker 3: I don't know what that is.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Oh with Amy Adams and Harvey or Bardam is executive
- 10:20Speaker 2: produced by Spielberg and This Scarsese. It's on Apple TV.
- 10:25Speaker 2: You are such a reality TV girl. It's hilarious because
- 10:28Speaker 2: I am just a scripted girl, even though I am
- 10:32Speaker 2: a reality contestant. Yeah, I need my escapism and its inscripted.
- 10:37Speaker 2: But I like try to watch a half an hour
- 10:41Speaker 2: every night and it's just like, oh, five minutes in
- 10:44Speaker 2: good night. But I really like the show.
- 10:45Speaker 3: It's just I did want to tell you I'm sad
- 10:48Speaker 3: this week because.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Your first non Rory week.
- 10:52Speaker 3: It's my first and by the way, the fact that
- 10:54Speaker 3: people call it rory, I actually had no idea. Somebody
- 10:58Speaker 3: on our team said that and I was like, ror,
- 11:00Speaker 3: what are you talking about? I thought they were talking
- 11:02Speaker 3: about Gilmore girls. They were like Housewives and I was like, wait,
- 11:07Speaker 3: that's so cute. But yeah, I'm actually sad. This is
- 11:10Speaker 3: my first week without besides you, without my girls on
- 11:15Speaker 3: my screen, and it like it kind of makes me
- 11:17Speaker 3: bummed because there's not a season of Housewives right now
- 11:22Speaker 3: that I'm like really vibing with. So it's gonna well,
- 11:27Speaker 3: obviously we're gonna be recapping Real Housewives, Ultimate Girls Trip
- 11:33Speaker 3: Roaring twenty starting next month. Not me, guys, Ben and Lauren.
- 11:38Speaker 3: So we're excited about that because we'll get to see
- 11:41Speaker 3: some fan favorites on that.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Ben learning about other classic Ladies lore might be hilarious.
- 11:49Speaker 3: The funniest part was that he didn't know what the
- 11:50Speaker 3: twenty meant, and I go, oh, twenty years. The show's
- 11:54Speaker 3: been on for twenty years and they have and Lauren
- 11:56Speaker 3: were both shocked at that.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Well, I feel like Lauren shouldn't be. We're so shocked
- 12:01Speaker 2: at that. My mom used to like watch Ramona and Luanne.
- 12:06Speaker 3: This is why these feel like my friends because I
- 12:08Speaker 3: have been watching for a very long time.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Hey, there, Amy Robot and TJ Holmes here from the
- 12:22Speaker 4: Amy and TJ podcast where we are doing the exact
- 12:24Speaker 4: opposite of taking a summer vacation.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't do that. There's entirely too much going
- 12:29Speaker 2: on in the world right now to not be talking
- 12:32Speaker 2: about all this stuff.
- 12:33Speaker 4: Yes, drama at the White House, drama at the World Cup,
- 12:35Speaker 4: drama about the Reflecting pool, and yes, drama at the
- 12:38Speaker 4: Villa pool on Love Island. All day, every day, we
- 12:41Speaker 4: have you covered with the latest breaking news in the
- 12:43Speaker 4: stories everyone will be talking about.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Listen to Amy and TJ on the.
- 12:47Speaker 4: iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 12:54Speaker 2: You're talking about hook ups, right, We're talking about Love Island. Well,
- 12:58Speaker 2: we got a hook up headline. Did you guys miss
- 13:01Speaker 2: our Julia l'placa interview that aired a couple days ago.
- 13:05Speaker 2: Go check that out if you're so willing, because there's
- 13:07Speaker 2: a lot of people out there that don't. They're not
- 13:10Speaker 2: on Julia's team right now. Not to say that we're
- 13:12Speaker 2: on teams, we're not. I would love to have Peter here.
- 13:16Speaker 3: We're definitely not on teams, and people should listen to
- 13:19Speaker 3: both sides, especially an interview where the host read the book.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Do you remember, like back in the day when people
- 13:25Speaker 2: would like be delivered two sides, and then they have
- 13:28Speaker 2: to make decisions on their own without vilifying the people
- 13:31Speaker 2: who are just having the conversations.
- 13:33Speaker 3: Or how about we actually go off the quotes that
- 13:35Speaker 3: the people involved are saying. So I would love for
- 13:38Speaker 3: you to read what Peter is actually saying verbatim, because
- 13:41Speaker 3: then we can also talk about the words he's not using.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Okay, So Peter said, I just find it ironic that
- 13:48Speaker 2: Julia is coming out with a book all about finding
- 13:50Speaker 2: your truth and searching for love when the entire time
- 13:53Speaker 2: I was trying to do just that on my season
- 13:55Speaker 2: of The Bachelor with her as my main confidant and
- 13:58Speaker 2: guide her and throughout the process her actions said otherwise,
- 14:04Speaker 2: So he's saying that he thinks that Julie was manipulative
- 14:09Speaker 2: to him, Well, read on and good God do it. Okay,
- 14:12Speaker 2: I am, by no means a victim of all of this.
- 14:15Speaker 2: I'm a grown man who's responsible for my actions, and
- 14:18Speaker 2: I know that that's a big one. That being said,
- 14:21Speaker 2: I'm going through an experience. That being said, going through
- 14:25Speaker 2: an experience like I did involved a certain level of
- 14:27Speaker 2: trust being given to people I really didn't know that
- 14:32Speaker 2: much about at the time he said, I'm having a
- 14:36Speaker 2: hard time understanding how Chris Harrison and Julie can both
- 14:39Speaker 2: endorse this type of book when they know how badly
- 14:42Speaker 2: they let me down. And then lastly to have her
- 14:47Speaker 2: laugh in my face, Well, I was very vulnerably expressing
- 14:51Speaker 2: my reasons for wanting to be left out of this
- 14:54Speaker 2: book was unforgivable. And yes she knows. I have the
- 14:58Speaker 2: conversation corded, so lots of stuff there that we would
- 15:03Speaker 2: have enjoyed asking Julie. We did ask her about her
- 15:10Speaker 2: producing during his season, and based on what I read
- 15:15Speaker 2: in the book, nothing seems like she produced him out
- 15:18Speaker 2: of him, out of having a love story.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Well, also we have to he's he's implying that the
- 15:24Speaker 3: comments that she made about Hannah were coming from a
- 15:28Speaker 3: personal place. You would look like an idiot if you
- 15:32Speaker 3: gave her the rose. He's implying that there is absolutely
- 15:36Speaker 3: no way that that comment could have been a producer
- 15:39Speaker 3: comment from a producer from a professional standpoint. So that
- 15:43Speaker 3: is a judgment that he is making. And I want
- 15:46Speaker 3: to say that we're actually never going to know the
- 15:48Speaker 3: answer to that question, because she is ndad up the
- 15:53Speaker 3: wazoo that she is never going to be able to
- 15:56Speaker 3: say or speak to what kind of conversations executives had
- 16:00Speaker 3: with her that were maybe influencing what she was saying
- 16:05Speaker 3: to him.
- 16:06Speaker 2: I want to know if there's other examples that he has,
- 16:09Speaker 2: because that one exam seems to be the only one.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Does It doesn't do it for me because I felt
- 16:15Speaker 2: I have been told many things like that behind the scenes,
- 16:18Speaker 2: where it was like, you're gonna look like a dumbass,
- 16:22Speaker 2: you should probably chill, and and honestly, the one moment
- 16:27Speaker 2: to me that really sticks out about that, I knew
- 16:32Speaker 2: that they were telling me the truth, and I did chill.
- 16:35Speaker 2: This is, of course, his moment is more romantically based.
- 16:39Speaker 2: It's not behavioral based. It's it's well, of course it is.
- 16:42Speaker 2: But it's like if you give her a rose, if
- 16:44Speaker 2: you give her a declaration of like acceptance and like love,
- 16:47Speaker 2: it's gonna look dumb.
- 16:49Speaker 3: I think that Peter has every right to say what
- 16:52Speaker 3: he said and feel the way that he feels. And
- 16:56Speaker 3: I think that she has every right to say and
- 17:00Speaker 3: do what she wants because it was a part of
- 17:03Speaker 3: her experience as well. What I'm going to say is
- 17:07Speaker 3: that the word groomed grooming was not used by Peter whatsoever,
- 17:14Speaker 3: So until Peter uses that language, I'm not going to
- 17:18Speaker 3: put any weight behind that term.
- 17:20Speaker 2: I think what Nick would argue with you is that
- 17:25Speaker 2: somebody who is groomed doesn't necessarily know that they are.
- 17:29Speaker 2: I don't think this was grooming. I think that this
- 17:33Speaker 2: was to people of similar ages and of similar power rankings.
- 17:39Speaker 2: And there was a crush on her end, and I
- 17:41Speaker 2: don't even know what it was well on his end
- 17:43Speaker 2: during filming, and I from what I'm reading in the book,
- 17:49Speaker 2: doesn't seem like there was any sort of power pull
- 17:53Speaker 2: or any sort of influencing about her feelings onto him. Do.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I think that the book in general is something that
- 18:02Speaker 2: I would never do this right. I wouldn't like I
- 18:05Speaker 2: would have respected my friendship enough with him to never
- 18:08Speaker 2: reveal such secrets. I can't. I feel really bad for
- 18:13Speaker 2: the position that Peter's in, while I was made very
- 18:15Speaker 2: clear in the Julie interview that I don't think that
- 18:19Speaker 2: he has anything to worry about. I think that he
- 18:22Speaker 2: looks like a nice man here, and I'm sorry if
- 18:26Speaker 2: I'm sorry for what he's going through, because like he's
- 18:28Speaker 2: probably feeling embarrassed and all that stuff.
- 18:31Speaker 3: I personally think that that's where this is coming from.
- 18:34Speaker 3: I think that it's coming from a place of embarrassment.
- 18:37Speaker 3: And I'm going to say this too. I mean, Hannah
- 18:42Speaker 3: Brown said multiple times about their sexual romps on camera
- 18:49Speaker 3: that have lived on in memes and clips and all
- 18:54Speaker 3: sorts of things. I have never heard him say publicly. Oh,
- 19:00Speaker 3: I wish Hannah Brown would keep that to herself. That
- 19:02Speaker 3: was a private moment. We all know about sex and
- 19:06Speaker 3: the windmill four times people like so, I I just
- 19:11Speaker 3: think that, like, if that is upsetting to you, again,
- 19:15Speaker 3: you have every right to be upset that she is
- 19:17Speaker 3: now making a book and profiting on it. I understand
- 19:19Speaker 3: that there's we are talking about semi different situations. Yeah,
- 19:23Speaker 3: but are you mad that she's profiting on it or
- 19:25Speaker 3: are you mad that she revealed it? Because what you
- 19:28Speaker 3: keep saying is that you're upset that she revealed a
- 19:31Speaker 3: private moment. Well, Hannah Brown has also revealed a private moment,
- 19:35Speaker 3: and I don't see the same sort of outrage.
- 19:39Speaker 2: The thing is that Hannah did talk. It was like
- 19:42Speaker 2: within the means of the show, like it happened in
- 19:45Speaker 2: a wind mail on the show, So we'd.
- 19:47Speaker 3: Have to know, but it also happened off can but
- 19:49Speaker 3: it also happened off She did not need to say that, just.
- 19:53Speaker 2: The way this happened off camera at his parents' house.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I just want to say that I have a lot
- 19:59Speaker 2: of sympathety towards Peter right now.
- 20:01Speaker 3: Absolutely who wants to be living in the press and
- 20:04Speaker 3: having this.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Yeah for him, what I don't want, you know, go
- 20:07Speaker 2: on whatever podcast, go on next podcast. I would love
- 20:09Speaker 2: to hear his conversation with Nick.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Also, Peter's in a relationship and he's extremely happy, and
- 20:15Speaker 3: we're happy for him, So I can't imagine having to
- 20:17Speaker 3: navigate that with your girlfriend, like all of this that's happening.
- 20:22Speaker 3: I'm gonna say though, we will be reading the book
- 20:25Speaker 3: on our new spin off series with Kalen Bell and
- 20:28Speaker 3: giving a really honest conversation because I think it's important.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Like I'm giving my opinion right now based on like
- 20:34Speaker 3: my background, but I have not read the book, and
- 20:37Speaker 3: I want to make an educated, like comment on what
- 20:40Speaker 3: I have to say, and maybe my opinion will change
- 20:43Speaker 3: after reading it. Maybe it will just reinforce things. But
- 20:46Speaker 3: we are going to read the book and you know,
- 20:48Speaker 3: review it here on the pod.
- 20:58Speaker 5: Welcome to The Orange Doesn't Fall, the podcast where Reality
- 21:01Speaker 5: TV meets real life. I'm Tamra Judge.
- 21:04Speaker 2: And I'm Sophia.
- 21:05Speaker 5: Each week we're spilling the tea on pop culture, relationships, motherhood, dating, drama,
- 21:11Speaker 5: and what it's really like growing up in the middle of.
- 21:13Speaker 3: Reality TV chaos.
- 21:15Speaker 2: One of us lived.
- 21:16Speaker 5: It, one of us survived it. Listen to The Orange
- 21:18Speaker 5: Doesn't Fall far Available on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
- 21:23Speaker 5: and wherever you get your podcasts.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Let me tell you this, guys, I read the book
- 21:31Speaker 2: months ago, when none of this controversy was happening, so
- 21:35Speaker 2: I read it through totally different eyes. If I reread it,
- 21:39Speaker 2: which I'm sorry I don't have time to do right now,
- 21:42Speaker 2: I could see it through a different view. I could
- 21:45Speaker 2: there might be certain parts. I don't know. I read
- 21:48Speaker 2: it like a rom com, and I looked out for
- 21:53Speaker 2: Peter while reading it. I was like, is this gonna
- 21:54Speaker 2: be some something that pisses off? It's gonna be something
- 21:56Speaker 2: pisses off, And there are parts like yeah, but I
- 21:59Speaker 2: thought overall, it just still looked like a nice guy.
- 22:02Speaker 2: And then let's go into one other thing that I
- 22:06Speaker 2: just read. Peter said that he had a ninety minute
- 22:10Speaker 2: conversation with Julie before the book release, where he asked
- 22:15Speaker 2: for some discretion when it came to sharing intimate details
- 22:18Speaker 2: about their relationship. And then he says, like I already said,
- 22:21Speaker 2: I'm sorry, but I'm rereading it to have her laugh
- 22:23Speaker 2: in my face while I was vulnerably expressing my reasons
- 22:26Speaker 2: for wanting it to be left out. It's unforgivable and
- 22:30Speaker 2: it's on record. I mean, like, dude, if you feel so,
- 22:34Speaker 2: I release it, because I mean, that's it's threatening. It's
- 22:41Speaker 2: also like that sucks if she laugh in your face
- 22:45Speaker 2: while saying that. I don't know, you have to listen
- 22:47Speaker 2: to it. I don't know if I'm Pete.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I'm writing my own book.
- 22:50Speaker 2: And I'm gonna read it. I'm gonna read it.
- 22:53Speaker 3: I'm gonna write my own book about me flying into
- 22:56Speaker 3: this next chapter of.
- 22:57Speaker 2: My life, flying into it.
- 23:00Speaker 3: How to put that in there and just make your
- 23:05Speaker 3: book bigger, better, whatever like that? Use the fuel to
- 23:08Speaker 3: the fire.
- 23:10Speaker 2: His book is so so good already in my head
- 23:13Speaker 2: because we have Hannah in the windmill. We have him
- 23:16Speaker 2: between Maddie and Hannah Ann, which that was why old
- 23:22Speaker 2: Kelly Kelly and now this, you have four relationships five
- 23:29Speaker 2: that I want to read about. So that's go for
- 23:33Speaker 2: Peter Pete.
- 23:34Speaker 3: Just go do that. Go write your own book and
- 23:36Speaker 3: we'll happily read that one too.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Use some of the quotes from the phone call. We're good.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Let's do it all right.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Last headline, if you were to think who is going
- 23:47Speaker 3: to Taylor and Travis's wedding from Bachelor Nation.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yo, I have so many thoughts on this wedding, but
- 23:53Speaker 2: I don't know if I want to air them out publicly.
- 23:56Speaker 2: And I don't mean that in a mean way. I
- 23:58Speaker 2: don't mean that in like a particularly mean way, but
- 24:00Speaker 2: I know the swifties out there. It's scary. It's almost
- 24:03Speaker 2: like talking politics when you talk to swifties.
- 24:05Speaker 3: No, we definitely won't get into that, but because I
- 24:09Speaker 3: can't handle it either. But I want to know, what
- 24:11Speaker 3: did you think when you saw Becca and Hailey that
- 24:15Speaker 3: they had gone to the wedding? Were you?
- 24:17Speaker 2: My initial reaction was jealousy, of course, because I'm an
- 24:21Speaker 2: honest person. Okay, I may have been judging certain elements
- 24:24Speaker 2: of the wedding all weekend and loving being on Instagram
- 24:28Speaker 2: trying to get every single detail and every guest and
- 24:31Speaker 2: really trying to figure out what it looked like inside there.
- 24:34Speaker 2: But I am jealous that they got to experience it,
- 24:37Speaker 2: and they got to see what was See what it
- 24:40Speaker 2: looked like inside, See what are dressed looked like? Hear
- 24:43Speaker 2: those vows, See what the interminglings were, the seating arrangement,
- 24:48Speaker 2: if it really looked like Masson Square garden, all of
- 24:50Speaker 2: the things. But I'm also happy that if there was
- 24:54Speaker 2: one person in my circle that got to experience it,
- 24:58Speaker 2: then it was back in Tilly and oh my gosh,
- 25:01Speaker 2: I mean, how cool, seriously, how cool. No matter the
- 25:05Speaker 2: thought that I think it was. Actually my most controversial
- 25:09Speaker 2: take is this, I'll say it, Oh God, should I
- 25:11Speaker 2: say it?
- 25:12Speaker 3: The raffle?
- 25:14Speaker 2: No? Not the raffle. It's that like to me as
- 25:17Speaker 2: I followed somebody's love life for twenty years, and yes,
- 25:19Speaker 2: is it a my like do I own her love
- 25:22Speaker 2: life or all her decisions that she makes with it?
- 25:24Speaker 3: Now?
- 25:25Speaker 2: But have I been invested in her story and how
- 25:27Speaker 2: is and has she in a huge way been involved
- 25:32Speaker 2: in the soundtrack of my love life? I wanted something
- 25:40Speaker 2: that felt less commercial. Okay, that's all felt commercial to me.
- 25:43Speaker 3: Well, we'll leave it at that. I'm not a fan,
- 25:46Speaker 3: so I don't have anything to say on that. But
- 25:49Speaker 3: Becca said that on her podcast that.
- 25:53Speaker 2: She said apparently nothing I heard. I was like, she
- 25:56Speaker 2: couldn't reveal anything, but I can't believe she didn't tell
- 25:59Speaker 2: Tanya until she sent the dress picture.
- 26:02Speaker 3: She did say that they got the invite a few
- 26:04Speaker 3: months ago. She said it was incredible food, played games,
- 26:11Speaker 3: and she didn't participate in the bouquet toss because you know,
- 26:14Speaker 3: she'd already found her person, so she didn't want to
- 26:16Speaker 3: be involved in that aspect.
- 26:18Speaker 2: Wow. So there was a bouquet toss.
- 26:20Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I saw who got it. It was a
- 26:21Speaker 3: football player's girlfriend or guest or something. And it was
- 26:26Speaker 3: a very small bouquet which was which was shown, and
- 26:30Speaker 3: so people in the comments were like, calm down, guys,
- 26:32Speaker 3: that's not her bouquet. That was her toss bouquet or somethy.
- 26:35Speaker 2: It's really tiny. But anyways, you know who caught my bouquet?
- 26:40Speaker 2: Who the who? No, Nick, I did it on purpose.
- 26:44Speaker 2: I like it. I was like, oh my god, I
- 26:46Speaker 2: forgot to toss it. And then I we literally were
- 26:49Speaker 2: like Nick, get out there, ging out there, and like
- 26:51Speaker 2: I basically just stood it and now look the arrival
- 26:54Speaker 2: of his three children happened this week.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Oh my gosh. That And what did I say say
- 27:00Speaker 3: last time I saw you? I said, do you think
- 27:02Speaker 3: they're gonna announce it this weekend? And you were like, no,
- 27:06Speaker 3: bird literally the day he out with it, So we
- 27:11Speaker 3: can jump to that. Yeah, Nick and Natalie welcome their
- 27:14Speaker 3: twin girls and kind of revealed the meaning behind their names,
- 27:19Speaker 3: which are Dove Tomlin Vial and Iris Parker Vial, their
- 27:25Speaker 3: rainbow babies. So now that they're they're a family of five.
- 27:29Speaker 2: I can't believe things like this happened so fast. It
- 27:32Speaker 2: feels like yesterday. And Nick called us until as well
- 27:34Speaker 2: as they're they're having twins, and now they're out, it's nuts.
- 27:37Speaker 2: So it's Dove and Dove Tomlin Viall, which is very pretty. Dove,
- 27:42Speaker 2: Natalie says is significant because of losing her dad this year.
- 27:47Speaker 2: She said she heard mourning doves all the time. And
- 27:50Speaker 2: Iris's core meaning is rainbow, which after losing three babies,
- 27:55Speaker 2: is crazy that they had three lost pregnancies before these twins.
- 27:59Speaker 2: These these being our rainbow baby. Is that name felt right?
- 28:02Speaker 2: And then she said it's also my favorite flower. Irises
- 28:07Speaker 2: her mom's Sarah Flower and then Tomlin. The middle name
- 28:11Speaker 2: of Dove is for my Natalie's grandmother's maid name, and
- 28:16Speaker 2: Parker is Nick's mother's maid name. We're very happy for them,
- 28:20Speaker 2: and it seemed like it was a really nice delivery,
- 28:22Speaker 2: So congratulations. Nick is a girl dad, and I could
- 28:25Speaker 2: imagine nothing else.
- 28:27Speaker 3: A lot of estrogen in that house, and I love
- 28:31Speaker 3: it for him. This headlined is so funny to meet.
- 28:34Speaker 3: Lindsay Hubbard addresses Matt James hookup rumors after they were
- 28:39Speaker 3: spotted together. The hookup from this is so funny because
- 28:43Speaker 3: it's literally just a picture of them like at a.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Bar walking in.
- 28:48Speaker 3: It's so funny. But Andy asked Lindsay on Watch What
- 28:53Speaker 3: Happens Live on Tuesday, he said, by the way, there
- 28:56Speaker 3: are rumors about you and Matt James hooking up. And
- 29:00Speaker 3: she said, I don't know what you're talking about, and
- 29:03Speaker 3: he goes, yes, you do, and he goes, you're very online,
- 29:07Speaker 3: and she goes, there are a lot of rumors about
- 29:11Speaker 3: all of us because we're all single, and she said,
- 29:14Speaker 3: it's going to be a hot girl summer. So basically,
- 29:17Speaker 3: Dumois earlier this month had a tip that said Lindsay
- 29:24Speaker 3: Hubbard walked into the event with Matt James, who it
- 29:28Speaker 3: seemed like was her plus one. It also said Matt
- 29:33Speaker 3: had his arm around Lindsay and he was caressing her
- 29:36Speaker 3: shoulder in a flirty, cute way. It says the post
- 29:41Speaker 3: what it definitely looked like they were flirting. Thought it
- 29:44Speaker 3: was cute that they were all the same table hanging
- 29:47Speaker 3: out and having fun together, including Carl, Lindsay's X. And
- 29:52Speaker 3: so Lindsay responded to the post and said, oh, cute
- 29:57Speaker 3: and flirty. I'll take it. I'm gonna say this. I'm
- 30:02Speaker 3: not a longtime Summer house watcher, and I know you've
- 30:05Speaker 3: met Lindsay. I think she's way too much personality for
- 30:12Speaker 3: a Matt James. Like she's also a single mom. Like
- 30:18Speaker 3: I don't know if that's in Matt James's cards right now.
- 30:20Speaker 2: This seems like if they're hooking up at best, there's
- 30:23Speaker 2: not gonna be any great romance that evolves.
- 30:26Speaker 3: I don't see it.
- 30:26Speaker 2: You don't even see it, Like maybe they're just flirty,
- 30:29Speaker 2: friendly friends.
- 30:31Speaker 3: I just think it's so funny how a rumor can
- 30:33Speaker 3: spark that quickly.
- 30:34Speaker 2: I mean, this is this is really like a big deal.
- 30:37Speaker 2: I mean, Glenn Powell is a movie star, a movie star,
- 30:40Speaker 2: and he spent his weekend with Cassie Randolph and he's
- 30:43Speaker 2: been hanging out with Rachel Lindsay.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Rachel Lindsay was in this group.
- 30:46Speaker 2: She was in the group. Hey, yes, oh my gosh,
- 30:49Speaker 2: had I didn't see her in the pictures, but I
- 30:51Speaker 2: was really looking for the pictures between Glenn and Michelle.
- 30:55Speaker 2: So obviously, you guys, you know that Cassie Randolph's her sister.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Michelle Randolph is like a pretty big actress right now,
- 31:02Speaker 2: and she's been dating Glen Powell. But they made it official.
- 31:04Speaker 2: They hard launched the thing, and he did it on
- 31:07Speaker 2: his Instagram this weekend or fourth of July in Texas.
- 31:12Speaker 2: It was really cute. There's a picture of Cassie of Michelle,
- 31:17Speaker 2: just like a solo shot of him in in the carousel,
- 31:21Speaker 2: and then you scroll a little bit further and you
- 31:23Speaker 2: see that there's a picture of them kissing. This is serious.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Most A list actors don't hard launch relationships like this,
- 31:31Speaker 2: So I think it's gonna be a long one.
- 31:33Speaker 3: Can I just say something I've learned from the headlines
- 31:36Speaker 3: this week? Yeah, if you go on the Bachelor. You
- 31:40Speaker 3: could be at anywhere and Travis's wedding, or your sister
- 31:44Speaker 3: could be dating Glenn Powell. People. Yeah, like this is
- 31:49Speaker 3: the power of the Bachelor nation. Like these people would
- 31:53Speaker 3: not be in these scenarios had they not been on
- 31:56Speaker 3: the back.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Ste I know it's so true. I don't know. Michelle
- 32:00Speaker 2: Well may have been an actress, I guess.
- 32:01Speaker 3: Sure, and Michelle's gorgeous. Come on, I could have crossed
- 32:05Speaker 3: with Glenn Powell at some point. But but Becca getting
- 32:09Speaker 3: to Taylor and Travis's wedding. I mean, it's guys, if
- 32:16Speaker 3: you're ever wondering should I sign up for the reality
- 32:18Speaker 3: dating show, I think this is your episode to realize
- 32:21Speaker 3: maybe I should.
- 32:23Speaker 1: That.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Yes, seriously, it's a it's a good time. It's led
- 32:26Speaker 2: me in a really fun direction.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Yeah, you could be a housewife, like all these things
- 32:30Speaker 3: happened from the universe. But anyways, I really liked this episode.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Lots of good.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Headlines this week. That's a good headlines. And congratulations to
- 32:38Speaker 2: Kendall Long who's expecting a second baby. Her other baby,
- 32:43Speaker 2: her first was born March twenty twenty five.
- 32:45Speaker 3: So how about I didn't realize when I was putting
- 32:48Speaker 3: this together that she had another baby. Oh yeah, I
- 32:51Speaker 3: was like a little out of it, Like I was
- 32:53Speaker 3: like baby number two, where's baby number one? Like I
- 32:57Speaker 3: I didn't remember any of that. But yeah, happy for them.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Yes, that's another magical story. So funny to go from
- 33:05Speaker 2: her being so upset over Joe a few years ago
- 33:08Speaker 2: to having just discovered that her real match was waiting
- 33:13Speaker 2: in the wings.
- 33:14Speaker 3: Does she still do taxidermy?
- 33:17Speaker 2: I don't know. That was just like a fun hobby.
- 33:18Speaker 2: It wasn't like her profession.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Oh okay, yeah, that's what I associate her with.
- 33:23Speaker 2: But anyway, of course, all right, guys, thank you so
- 33:26Speaker 2: much for listening. Talk to you next time.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Until then, I've been Ashley, I've been Heather Bye.
