Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with iHeartRadio.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Hey, everybody's Bob getting here.
- 0:06Speaker 3: And as the Bachelor universe expands, we are bringing you
- 0:09Speaker 3: more shows to recap, and this time we've got season four,
- 0:12Speaker 3: A Farmer Wants a Wife. It's airing on Fox because,
- 0:15Speaker 3: of course, our Bachelor Nation alum Heather Martin is also
- 0:19Speaker 3: on this season, so we're very, very excited to cover
- 0:22Speaker 3: her comings and goings as a farm hand.
- 0:27Speaker 4: I don't know if that's what we're going to call them,
- 0:28Speaker 4: but link and you miss her in that first episode though,
- 0:31Speaker 4: But I'm excited much.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:34Speaker 3: In fact, I was curious the whole time. I was like,
- 0:37Speaker 3: is am I going to recognize her? And then I
- 0:39Speaker 3: saw her, I'm like, oh, hey, there she is. And
- 0:41Speaker 3: then but you know what, if this is any indication,
- 0:45Speaker 3: you know a lot of times in the first couple
- 0:47Speaker 3: episodes from our Bachelor era, the people who don't make
- 0:53Speaker 3: a huge splash in the first two episodes are around
- 0:55Speaker 3: later in the season. So it could be the case.
- 0:58Speaker 3: It could be the case. Who knows, it could be.
- 1:00Speaker 4: So sorry, it's it's producer Heather jumping in here because
- 1:03Speaker 4: you can't get on a show.
- 1:04Speaker 3: You I didn't properly give you your love. Heather Monday,
- 1:07Speaker 3: everybody producer, Hea, They're coming in.
- 1:10Speaker 2: CEO. Heather wears so many hats.
- 1:14Speaker 5: I'm the co co host of the show, co co host,
- 1:18Speaker 5: co co co host of this show, and I love
- 1:21Speaker 5: it to have you to bounce my banter off of
- 1:24Speaker 5: because this is a good one.
- 1:25Speaker 3: I mean, you know, you and I have a little
- 1:28Speaker 3: bit of experience with this show. You know, we recapped
- 1:31Speaker 3: a couple episodes in the past. Last season one was
- 1:36Speaker 3: literally a disaster in the making while I was hosting
- 1:39Speaker 3: another event in the city of New York, of course,
- 1:41Speaker 3: where I got run out of a couple of different
- 1:43Speaker 3: conference rooms with our cast members on the phone.
- 1:47Speaker 2: It was bananas.
- 1:48Speaker 6: Let me just set the stage.
- 1:49Speaker 4: It was maybe one of the most awkward interviews I've
- 1:51Speaker 4: ever produced, and not to Bob's fault at all. It
- 1:56Speaker 4: was out of his control. But basically he was interviewing
- 2:00Speaker 4: Farmer Matt and Chelsea from season three for I Do
- 2:04Speaker 4: Part two, and in the midst of the interview, I've
- 2:08Speaker 4: never seen this happen before.
- 2:10Speaker 2: I've never had it happen before.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Bob was in a conference room and somebody from the
- 2:15Speaker 4: hotel staff came in and said what are you doing
- 2:20Speaker 4: in here? And he was like, I'm in the middle
- 2:23Speaker 4: of an interview, and they were like, and so.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I got kicked out.
- 2:26Speaker 4: He gets kicked out of this room. And he's literally like,
- 2:29Speaker 4: I am on camera right now doing an interview. And
- 2:31Speaker 4: the guy was like, yeah, I don't care, like get
- 2:33Speaker 4: out of this room.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:35Speaker 4: So it's insane. So Bob is like, I'm so sorry,
- 2:37Speaker 4: I'm getting kicked out. So Bob leaves and then you
- 2:41Speaker 4: got into.
- 2:41Speaker 2: And find another room.
- 2:43Speaker 6: You found another room, and we hopped on again, and
- 2:47Speaker 6: within minutes.
- 2:49Speaker 4: The same person that kicked you out of the first
- 2:52Speaker 4: room came and found you and said, what are you
- 2:54Speaker 4: doing in here?
- 2:55Speaker 6: Get out now.
- 2:56Speaker 3: I claimed he was the owner of the hotel, by
- 2:59Speaker 3: the way, which I'm like, I'm like, that is absolutely
- 3:02Speaker 3: impossible that you are the owner.
- 3:03Speaker 2: You are you are Thomas J. Marriott. I was like,
- 3:07Speaker 2: are you kidding me? I'm like, that is not the case, sir.
- 3:10Speaker 4: It was so insane, and Bob felt so horrible.
- 3:14Speaker 6: It had nothing to do with him.
- 3:16Speaker 4: I mean, he had a room at this hotel and
- 3:19Speaker 4: they were treating him like he had just walked in
- 3:21Speaker 4: off the street, like that's just it.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I had a I had a corner suite, yes, and
- 3:27Speaker 3: they hadn't had my room ready for me as they
- 3:29Speaker 3: were supposed to.
- 3:30Speaker 2: So I'm trying to explain to the guy. I'm like, well, look,
- 3:31Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Supposed to be doing this in my suite, but you
- 3:35Speaker 3: guys don't have it ready for me yet. And so
- 3:37Speaker 3: they had told me I could utilize this space. And
- 3:40Speaker 3: now you're coming in and you're upset. And now, if
- 3:42Speaker 3: you recall, I was also there to do it Today's
- 3:43Speaker 3: Show thing, and I'm like, so I decided to swing
- 3:46Speaker 3: the stick. I'm like, not only am I doing an
- 3:47Speaker 3: iHeart event right now, I'm also doing a Today's Show segment.
- 3:51Speaker 3: And You're all, You're gonna be all over the news, bro,
- 3:53Speaker 3: I'm like, you're just going to be everywhere. This is fantastic, great,
- 3:55Speaker 3: great press for you. I'll press is good press. I
- 3:57Speaker 3: suppose you should have.
- 3:58Speaker 6: Said I'm a little bit famous.
- 4:01Speaker 2: You might not know this, but I am semi famous.
- 4:03Speaker 6: I am seven.
- 4:04Speaker 2: I like them both.
- 4:05Speaker 4: I'm a little bit famous.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I think I like semi now that I'm thinking about.
- 4:09Speaker 4: It was just hilarious and Bob handled it with so
- 4:12Speaker 4: much grace, And if anybody wants to go back and
- 4:14Speaker 4: listen to that episode, it's a literal recording of a.
- 4:20Speaker 6: Crash, Yes, a train wreck.
- 4:22Speaker 7: It was.
- 4:23Speaker 4: It was so funny, but Bob handled it so great
- 4:25Speaker 4: and we were able to get Farmer Matt and Chelsea
- 4:28Speaker 4: back on and finish the interview properly.
- 4:30Speaker 6: But we of course kept all of that in of Bob.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Getting kicked out of the room with all the microphones,
- 4:36Speaker 4: and it was hilarious.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I mean, and ps to be fair, my wife loves
- 4:41Speaker 3: saying this, like, I don't encounter in my whole life,
- 4:45Speaker 3: and I'm old right, I haven't encountered too many people
- 4:48Speaker 3: not just being willing to.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Do what I want.
- 4:50Speaker 3: So if I'm like, you know, do you mind if
- 4:52Speaker 3: I just stay in here for another fifteen minutes, They're
- 4:53Speaker 3: always like, okay, because I'm nice.
- 4:56Speaker 4: I was just about to say, Bob Guinea's got a
- 4:58Speaker 4: lot of charm and charisma. He is very He's very
- 5:02Speaker 4: friendly and jovial, and I swear, I swear I said
- 5:06Speaker 4: this to you, Bob. When we were in Tahoe, Bob
- 5:09Speaker 4: lost his luggage on the way to our Tahoe trips,
- 5:13Speaker 4: had absolutely no clothes, had to at one point had
- 5:17Speaker 4: to rent a car and drive himself to Tahoe because
- 5:20Speaker 4: of the flight issues we were having.
- 5:22Speaker 6: You would never know.
- 5:23Speaker 4: This guy joins the party, is so happy to be here,
- 5:27Speaker 4: is so stoked, and I'm like, what you don't have luggage?
- 5:30Speaker 4: What you had to drive yourself. It was actually an
- 5:32Speaker 4: insane planes, trains and automobiles, and you would just never
- 5:35Speaker 4: know because Bob is so nice and cordial to everybody.
- 5:39Speaker 4: So it is hilarious that this guy was being so
- 5:43Speaker 4: rude to you that day because.
- 5:44Speaker 3: I didn't know what to do. I just am so
- 5:46Speaker 3: not used to it. I was like so caught off guard.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Yes, so hilarious. But anyways, I wanted to know other
- 5:51Speaker 4: than that last season that we kind of dabbled in.
- 5:54Speaker 4: I mean, I watched the whole thing, but what is
- 5:56Speaker 4: your background when it comes to Farmer Wants a Wife?
- 5:59Speaker 4: Because this show was on for a really long time,
- 6:02Speaker 4: went off the air for a bit, and then I
- 6:05Speaker 4: believe came back and it did different iteration on a Fox.
- 6:09Speaker 6: So like, what is your experience with this show?
- 6:12Speaker 3: So I only watched that season, I only watched the
- 6:17Speaker 3: episodes that we covered on the show, but I found
- 6:20Speaker 3: myself really liking the cast, and so it was one
- 6:23Speaker 3: of those things where I was hopeful, right, I was
- 6:25Speaker 3: really hopeful for them, and I was really excited.
- 6:28Speaker 2: I mean, and then what like you talk about Matt
- 6:30Speaker 2: and Chelsea.
- 6:31Speaker 3: I kind of knew they I didn't see that connection
- 6:34Speaker 3: working out, but I thought they were individually very nice people.
- 6:38Speaker 3: And I was like, she seemed a little too polished.
- 6:41Speaker 3: He seemed a little too you know, country, but he
- 6:43Speaker 3: wasn't really country enough, you know, there there was a
- 6:45Speaker 3: lot going on there.
- 6:46Speaker 4: He's a little reserved. He's a very nice guy.
- 6:48Speaker 6: I've done quite a few interviews with him.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Very nice guys and some handsome, charming, you know whatever.
- 6:54Speaker 4: Was fine guys. He's I saw him last month and
- 6:58Speaker 4: he is dating. That's as much as he would say, yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 4: but he's doing just fine.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Well.
- 7:04Speaker 4: What I think we should set up for the listeners
- 7:07Speaker 4: is if they haven't seen this show that it revolves around.
- 7:11Speaker 6: Last season, we had four Farmers.
- 7:13Speaker 4: This season, we only have three, which I think is
- 7:15Speaker 4: kind of better because I felt, as somebody who watched
- 7:18Speaker 4: last season, I felt like it's it's really hard when
- 7:21Speaker 4: there's multiple leads on a show.
- 7:22Speaker 6: I've done it.
- 7:24Speaker 4: I've done several dating shows like this in my career,
- 7:27Speaker 4: and it's really it's hard to do the one lead,
- 7:31Speaker 4: which I've said on this pod is a thing of
- 7:33Speaker 4: the past. Nobody does the format that the Bachelor Bachelorette
- 7:36Speaker 4: does anymore because you're really putting all your eggs in
- 7:39Speaker 4: one basket to you know, that make that one person
- 7:44Speaker 4: carry a show.
- 7:44Speaker 6: So nobody does that anymore.
- 7:46Speaker 4: Everybody has really gone to this montage of nobody's really
- 7:51Speaker 4: the vocal multiple people coming in. You have a lot
- 7:55Speaker 4: maybe a cast of twelve to fifteen that you're kind
- 7:58Speaker 4: of following on a journey of finding love. But this
- 8:01Speaker 4: format of three leads, multiple women trying to date each one.
- 8:07Speaker 4: I did a show like this for Hulu. I did
- 8:10Speaker 4: anybody who's listened, I've done F Boy Island F Girl Island,
- 8:13Speaker 4: which we're also both of the same kind of format.
- 8:16Speaker 4: So it's hard because there's a lot of people still
- 8:22Speaker 4: on the show.
- 8:23Speaker 6: It's really invested in exactly, so you're.
- 8:26Speaker 4: Not really going to get locked in until we get
- 8:28Speaker 4: further into the show. But what I do like about
- 8:31Speaker 4: this show is so we have three farmers, we have
- 8:33Speaker 4: each of them has their own kind of group of
- 8:35Speaker 4: girls that are there to date them.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Which they pre screened, right, so they they did have
- 8:39Speaker 3: the opportunity, at least from the way they did the
- 8:42Speaker 3: setup of the show, that they kind of pre screened
- 8:44Speaker 3: and selected these nine.
- 8:46Speaker 4: So I'll burst the bubble on that and I'll say
- 8:49Speaker 4: that that is not true and that's not how this works.
- 8:52Speaker 6: Unfortunately or fortunately, you.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Know, maybe they asked them which girls they found attractive.
- 8:59Speaker 4: But I'm here to say that on any show that
- 9:02Speaker 4: I've ever worked on, the talent does not get to
- 9:05Speaker 4: choose from the pool, not this early on. You get
- 9:09Speaker 4: to make those decisions on who you want to bring
- 9:11Speaker 4: back to the farm in the case of this show,
- 9:14Speaker 4: but you're not choosing which girls are for you. And
- 9:17Speaker 4: the reason for that is because you would not choose
- 9:21Speaker 4: people that bring the drama or TV all that you
- 9:25Speaker 4: know are different and outside of your type. Because that's
- 9:29Speaker 4: the other thing is part of these experiences is to
- 9:32Speaker 4: date differently than you do.
- 9:34Speaker 6: Maybe in the real world. You know this first hand, Bob.
- 9:37Speaker 4: I mean, the point is if it's not working out
- 9:41Speaker 4: in the real world for you and you're just dating
- 9:43Speaker 4: the same kind of people all the time, this is
- 9:45Speaker 4: your chance to expand and try different things for once
- 9:49Speaker 4: in your life. So yeah, so the producers choose your
- 9:54Speaker 4: group of women that are there for you, and you
- 9:57Speaker 4: can tell because we've got, you know, farmer Brett. He
- 10:01Speaker 4: is our oldest farmer this season, and all of the
- 10:05Speaker 4: women that were in the older age category were there
- 10:09Speaker 4: for him, Brett with him and Brett's farm.
- 10:12Speaker 6: So you know.
- 10:13Speaker 4: So that's strategically done by the casting team and by
- 10:17Speaker 4: the producers. But it's cute that they set it up
- 10:21Speaker 4: being like, oh, these guys chose these girls, and these
- 10:24Speaker 4: girls chose these guys.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Right.
- 10:26Speaker 6: Oh no, that's not how it works.
- 10:28Speaker 4: But it's fine, But Bob, I'll let you take it
- 10:31Speaker 4: away and we can get into kind of the rundown
- 10:33Speaker 4: of how the episode started.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Yeah for sure.
- 10:37Speaker 3: So yeah, I mean it was a great first of all,
- 10:39Speaker 3: Like I said to you before, I found myself smiling
- 10:43Speaker 3: a lot during this show. Right, we got three three
- 10:46Speaker 3: farmers coming on. We've got let's see Brett, Brayden and
- 10:49Speaker 3: is it Sean yep? Yeah, Brett, Braiden and Sean and
- 10:53Speaker 3: they come on and they are you know, they do
- 10:56Speaker 3: a little a little spiel about each guy. We get
- 10:59Speaker 3: to know him a little figure out who these guys are, right,
- 11:01Speaker 3: And it's all seemingly really.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Nice guys, good looking guys.
- 11:05Speaker 3: And I think one of the one of the criticisms
- 11:08Speaker 3: of the show previously was that the guys weren't really farmers.
- 11:11Speaker 8: I remember that, and I think we see that again
- 11:16Speaker 8: a little bit on this season.
- 11:19Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, it was.
- 11:20Speaker 2: A broadbrush when they say far.
- 11:22Speaker 6: Listen, it's did you grow up on a farm?
- 11:25Speaker 4: Do you live near a farm?
- 11:26Speaker 2: Have you ever eaten food that came from a farm? Well, hey,
- 11:29Speaker 2: then you're in right.
- 11:30Speaker 4: Do you look good in the cowboy hat? I think
- 11:34Speaker 4: that the guys, I think if you really narrowed it
- 11:38Speaker 4: down to guys that are a little bit, let's i'll
- 11:41Speaker 4: just call it out. So farmer Branden is a fifth
- 11:44Speaker 4: generation farmer. Farms soybeans and corn on his farm out
- 11:51Speaker 4: in Homer, Illinois. That guy's a farmer, he really. I
- 11:57Speaker 4: spent time with these farmers last month.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I'll get into that very nice.
- 12:01Speaker 4: I got to meet all of them, and yeah, that
- 12:05Speaker 4: guy is a farmer.
- 12:06Speaker 6: Now, what they.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Didn't show in this first episode, and I think that
- 12:12Speaker 4: they will get into later, is he also has a
- 12:14Speaker 4: very he's musically inclined, and he has a passion for
- 12:18Speaker 4: music country music, and he's a singer songwriter in his area.
- 12:21Speaker 4: So they didn't highlight any of that in his background package,
- 12:26Speaker 4: but it's in his show bios. It's in his show bio. Yeah,
- 12:31Speaker 4: and so we'll end up seeing it. But before we
- 12:33Speaker 4: get into Farmer Sean and Farmer Brett, Kimberly Williams.
- 12:37Speaker 6: Paisley is the host of this show.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Yes, I used to.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Love her, oh my gosh, when she was doing a
- 12:42Speaker 3: lot of acting. I used to love her.
- 12:44Speaker 6: Oh my gosh.
- 12:44Speaker 4: I mean I think she still does act.
- 12:47Speaker 6: The bride doesn't love that movie. I feel like she
- 12:55Speaker 6: They're gonna come for me now that I didn't look
- 12:57Speaker 6: into this.
- 12:57Speaker 4: But I feel like she does TV movies still, maybe
- 13:00Speaker 4: in that hallmark kind of genre. But what is really
- 13:04Speaker 4: interesting is what she says when she comes out to
- 13:07Speaker 4: meet the women, and she says, you know, even though
- 13:11Speaker 4: this is unconventional.
- 13:12Speaker 6: That this show actually works.
- 13:15Speaker 4: And she says the show has resulted in over two
- 13:19Speaker 4: hundred and fifty marriages and over five hundred children worldwide.
- 13:24Speaker 6: So that is a nutso stat to have.
- 13:27Speaker 4: And that is because obviously she's not referring to farmer
- 13:31Speaker 4: wants a wife. US. She's referring to the fact that
- 13:34Speaker 4: this show airs worldwide and in different countries and different
- 13:39Speaker 4: you know, they might not use the term farmer wants
- 13:42Speaker 4: a Wife in other countries.
- 13:43Speaker 6: It might the show might be called something else.
- 13:45Speaker 4: They do that from time to time, just based off
- 13:48Speaker 4: the country that it's airing in, what would resonate best
- 13:51Speaker 4: with the audience. But clearly it's it's, you know, a
- 13:53Speaker 4: working man type of hard working man kind of show
- 13:57Speaker 4: where women, you know, city.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Me like a hard working, you know, gritty guy.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Yes, exactly, exactly. But I thought that was a crazy stat.
- 14:09Speaker 4: And you know, I know that the Bachelor franchise obviously
- 14:14Speaker 4: has aired all over the world in different countries. Now
- 14:17Speaker 4: I don't know where it currently airs, but it would
- 14:21Speaker 4: be so interesting to know the stat from that, because
- 14:25Speaker 4: we already know that Paradise has produced so many success
- 14:29Speaker 4: stories from the show, probably more so than the actual
- 14:34Speaker 4: Bachelor and Bachelorette, just because your stats are you know,
- 14:39Speaker 4: you're more attuned to getting a match on Paradise where
- 14:43Speaker 4: you're meeting multiple people than you are in in the
- 14:48Speaker 4: Bachelor Bachelorette situation. So Anyways, I thought that was just
- 14:52Speaker 4: really interesting that they pointed that out right up top,
- 14:55Speaker 4: and obviously that got the girls really hyped. Tell me about, well,
- 15:00Speaker 4: your thoughts on Farmer Sean, who is the next one
- 15:05Speaker 4: that we kind of sean?
- 15:07Speaker 3: Right, Farmer Sean has a farm in California, family restaurant
- 15:10Speaker 3: that is farmed to the table.
- 15:12Speaker 2: You know, he is definitely he's He's.
- 15:15Speaker 3: Kind of like the beefcake of the show.
- 15:18Speaker 8: Right.
- 15:18Speaker 2: They got on Toss and hay bales slow motion to.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Wear shirts very much like I guess his farm is
- 15:24Speaker 3: a shirtless farm, which is normal.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I mean, that's that's normally. He rolling some hay.
- 15:28Speaker 3: But he's looking for a lady who you know, will
- 15:30Speaker 3: see the hardworking lifestyle and we'll want to get on
- 15:35Speaker 3: that journey with him his best friend and a wife,
- 15:37Speaker 3: which I mean, isn't that the dream we're all looking for? That?
- 15:40Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 15:52Speaker 4: Farmer Sean is twenty two years old.
- 15:55Speaker 2: Twenty two years old, Yeah, yeah, I like it.
- 15:58Speaker 4: So I actually went to Farmer sean farm last month.
- 16:02Speaker 4: It is in the solving area. It's absolutely stunning. When
- 16:07Speaker 4: we get to next week's episode where we actually get
- 16:10Speaker 4: to see like overhead beautiful.
- 16:12Speaker 6: Shots at the farm. It's nuts.
- 16:15Speaker 4: So his family owns that farm, and he kind of
- 16:20Speaker 4: hints at, you know that he has a very privileged life.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:24Speaker 3: I heard him say that at one point, and that
- 16:26Speaker 3: I thought that was actually nice to acknowledge because a
- 16:28Speaker 3: lot of people don't realize that.
- 16:29Speaker 2: But farmers are, you know, their.
- 16:32Speaker 3: Last generational, last bastion of land barons in our country. Really,
- 16:35Speaker 3: I mean, there's there's a lot of wealth that can
- 16:38Speaker 3: come as a result of farming.
- 16:39Speaker 4: Oh for sure. Well, I will say he's not like
- 16:42Speaker 4: farmer Brandon in the sense that he grew up on
- 16:44Speaker 4: a farm. His family purchased this farm only within the
- 16:49Speaker 4: last couple of years. So they're actually from Newport Beach, California,
- 16:53Speaker 4: and that's where he grew up and they got the farm,
- 16:58Speaker 4: I want to say, like two or three years ago,
- 17:01Speaker 4: and that's where they spend like half their time, you know,
- 17:05Speaker 4: is on that farm. It's absolutely stunning. I didn't get
- 17:09Speaker 4: to go to his restaurant, unfortunately, but you know.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Although that's a bummer's where I know, we had.
- 17:15Speaker 4: We had a very long day there, but it was
- 17:18Speaker 4: really cool. They do have a lot of people that
- 17:20Speaker 4: work on the farm. You know, crew and everything, because
- 17:24Speaker 4: it's a very modern thing today that I think people
- 17:28Speaker 4: get in their heads and they think we talked about
- 17:31Speaker 4: this with farmer Matt too. They think, you know, farmer, Oh,
- 17:33Speaker 4: you're out there working all the land yourself, blah blah blah.
- 17:36Speaker 4: But in order to have an efficient farm, you do
- 17:39Speaker 4: have to have a crew that helps you to get
- 17:41Speaker 4: through that.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Well.
- 17:42Speaker 3: I think it's probably a lot more now if you
- 17:44Speaker 3: really think about it. Being a farmer today, especially at
- 17:48Speaker 3: a higher level, means that you're probably more of a
- 17:51Speaker 3: upper upper executive, upper level executive who's overseeing a lot
- 17:55Speaker 3: of things, right, and you're running books and you're looking
- 17:58Speaker 3: at P and L statements and you're there's a lot
- 18:00Speaker 3: of that going on today which there probably wasn't back in.
- 18:02Speaker 4: The day exactly. And yeah, like we said, farmer Seawan's
- 18:06Speaker 4: family has a restaurant as well, so they've got lots
- 18:10Speaker 4: going on, but the house is absolutely studying. They had
- 18:15Speaker 4: incredible food for us. There's so many animals, there's two
- 18:18Speaker 4: long horns, there's dogs running around. It was crazy. And
- 18:22Speaker 4: the girls actually had like their own little barn that
- 18:26Speaker 4: they stayed in, and then there was another separate guest house.
- 18:29Speaker 4: So when we were there for a press event, all
- 18:32Speaker 4: the farmers were staying in their own set of like
- 18:36Speaker 4: little houses. I mean, the property is massive, It's absolutely massive.
- 18:40Speaker 4: There's a giant pool in the backyard, like it's crazy.
- 18:44Speaker 4: We were like, this must be a great blaze for parties,
- 18:47Speaker 4: like farm parties. But yeah, he was really cool. He
- 18:52Speaker 4: is very young. I think I said this, he's twenty two.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Twenty two, Yeah.
- 18:56Speaker 6: Twenty two and looking for a wife.
- 18:59Speaker 2: That's young to be like for a wife. That's very
- 19:02Speaker 2: young to be looking for a wife.
- 19:03Speaker 4: But then we got farmer Brett, who I believe is
- 19:06Speaker 4: thirty one.
- 19:08Speaker 2: I was gonna say, I don't know what his age was, Okay,
- 19:10Speaker 2: so yeah.
- 19:10Speaker 6: He's a yeah, I think he's thirty one, the.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Most mature of the three in age, right.
- 19:17Speaker 4: And you got to look mature if you're able to
- 19:20Speaker 4: rock the mustache, because.
- 19:22Speaker 2: I'm telling you he looked good at it. I mean
- 19:25Speaker 2: he really did. Former bull rider, professional bull rider.
- 19:28Speaker 4: Okay, so let me tell you this. I learned this
- 19:32Speaker 4: when we were at our event with them. The show
- 19:35Speaker 4: really sets it up like he was a professional bull rider.
- 19:38Speaker 4: That is what you thought, That is what I thought.
- 19:41Speaker 4: When I watched the episode for the first time. Yeah, so,
- 19:45Speaker 4: and anybody can go back and listen to our sit
- 19:50Speaker 4: down interviews with the farmers. They are on the I
- 19:53Speaker 4: Do Part two pod that is in this feed, so
- 19:56Speaker 4: you can get to know the farmers a little bit
- 19:57Speaker 4: better as well. But we said, so, you were a
- 20:01Speaker 4: professional bull rider and now you're turned entrepreneur, and he
- 20:04Speaker 4: was like, adamant, no, no, no, I would never call
- 20:07Speaker 4: myself a professional bull rider. And I wanted to be like, well, dude,
- 20:11Speaker 4: you haven't seen the episode then, because they clearly make
- 20:14Speaker 4: you out to be a professional bull rider. And even
- 20:16Speaker 4: when I watched it again last night, I was like,
- 20:19Speaker 4: oh god, I was not off base when we said this,
- 20:22Speaker 4: because that's how they make it to seem. So he
- 20:25Speaker 4: was basically just a rodeo bull rider and he must not.
- 20:31Speaker 6: Either he's being.
- 20:33Speaker 4: Yeah, either he's being humble, or he just never took
- 20:36Speaker 4: it as like this was a career and this was
- 20:38Speaker 4: maybe a side quest that he did, but he clearly
- 20:43Speaker 4: did it for an amount of time and now he
- 20:47Speaker 4: has transferred into being an entrepreneur. He owns two businesses,
- 20:52Speaker 4: a tequila brand which is not just straight tequila.
- 20:56Speaker 6: He told me it is like a tequila.
- 20:58Speaker 4: Seltzer during package drenk that he does, and then protein.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Bars, protein bars.
- 21:04Speaker 4: Now, when we figure out I think we need to
- 21:07Speaker 4: get to know farmer Brett a little bit more about
- 21:09Speaker 4: how this farming comes into his life. But it sounds
- 21:14Speaker 4: like maybe he grew up on a ranch of some sort.
- 21:17Speaker 4: He grew up around horses and animals. So I'm interested
- 21:21Speaker 4: to see how they tell us or sell us a
- 21:25Speaker 4: little bit more on his farming background, because we haven't.
- 21:28Speaker 6: We didn't really get a whole lot in this.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Which is funny because when he comes out, he's got
- 21:33Speaker 3: he's got the boots, the belt buckle, the tie with
- 21:36Speaker 3: the string, the bolo tie, the hat. I mean, he
- 21:39Speaker 3: looks more country western farmer guy than all of them.
- 21:44Speaker 2: Really.
- 21:44Speaker 6: Let's not forget the way he says yes, ma'am.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Every single time Kimberly relieves Paisley talks to him, she goes,
- 21:52Speaker 4: she goes, are you ready to make your decisions?
- 21:55Speaker 7: Brett?
- 21:56Speaker 6: Yes, ma'am, and then something else, yes, ma'am.
- 21:58Speaker 4: And these these men, by the way, that is how
- 22:02Speaker 4: they talk in real life. I would be like, hey,
- 22:06Speaker 4: can I have you sit over here? Yes, ma'am. Now, Bob,
- 22:11Speaker 4: I'm not about to be called ma'am, but I'm yes,
- 22:15Speaker 4: miss or miss. I'm just like, that's like.
- 22:22Speaker 6: My grandma or something.
- 22:24Speaker 4: But I appreciate the fact that it is very chivalrous
- 22:29Speaker 4: and gentleman, very mannerly. These these are very well mannered
- 22:34Speaker 4: young men. I will say that after spending a day
- 22:36Speaker 4: with them and seeing them. They're all very polite, all
- 22:41Speaker 4: of them. Even when Kathy Schwartz was grilling them with questions,
- 22:46Speaker 4: they were all very caught off guard.
- 22:48Speaker 6: Ye, but it was it was cute.
- 22:50Speaker 4: I highly suggest anybody go back and listen to those episodes.
- 22:53Speaker 4: But we we yet to know. Uh so those are
- 22:56Speaker 4: the farmers, and I like.
- 22:58Speaker 3: These guys, you know, I gotta say, likeli in watching
- 23:01Speaker 3: the show. I said this when we were just sort
- 23:04Speaker 3: of recapping before we even started taping.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Was found I like these guys, Like.
- 23:08Speaker 3: I think all three of them seem like really genuinely
- 23:12Speaker 3: nice guys, you know, And when you're kind of sitting
- 23:15Speaker 3: there listening to them, you're like, Okay, I get it,
- 23:17Speaker 3: I absolutely get it. All good looking dudes, you know,
- 23:20Speaker 3: all different levels of success, I'm sure, and probably different
- 23:24Speaker 3: levels of farming.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Experience, but you know.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Ultimately, you know, I'm rooting for all three of them
- 23:30Speaker 3: right now. So from that perspective, at this point in
- 23:32Speaker 3: the show, we know they're going to meet each of
- 23:35Speaker 3: their farms full of ladies, right so they've got each
- 23:39Speaker 3: of them have nine ladies, which is an odd number,
- 23:42Speaker 3: why not ten?
- 23:43Speaker 4: And they said this is the first time they've done that,
- 23:46Speaker 4: that this is the most right these guys have had
- 23:48Speaker 4: to choose from I will say I like all of them.
- 23:52Speaker 4: They all seem they're all very attractive, nice young men.
- 23:56Speaker 4: From my producer's standpoint, my only issue is as I
- 24:00Speaker 4: wish the background packages had a little bit more oomph,
- 24:03Speaker 4: and by if I mean I love a range of
- 24:06Speaker 4: emotions people. This is my favorite kind of background package
- 24:12Speaker 4: is if I can laugh, a little cry, a little
- 24:14Speaker 4: back to smiling a little bit by But by the
- 24:17Speaker 4: time I've actually gotten to know all of them, and
- 24:20Speaker 4: so it's a little rough for me when I'm watching
- 24:24Speaker 4: and I hear all of their background packages say extremely
- 24:28Speaker 4: generic things in that I'm looking for my best friend,
- 24:32Speaker 4: I'm looking for somebody that's got a nice personality. It's
- 24:35Speaker 4: just like, that's great. I want to know I haven't
- 24:40Speaker 4: been able to find love on the farm. Last girl
- 24:43Speaker 4: I dated cheated on me. Now I'm ready to get
- 24:46Speaker 4: back out there. Da da da da da or from
- 24:49Speaker 4: our older farmer, I almost propose to a girl now.
- 24:54Speaker 4: You know, looking back, I don't even think I knew
- 24:56Speaker 4: what love was. But now as an older man, I
- 24:59Speaker 4: think I've really put myself out there. I've learned some things,
- 25:02Speaker 4: and now I think I'm ready to get down on
- 25:04Speaker 4: one knee and propose, like something a little bit.
- 25:07Speaker 6: Nice, like yeah, a little bit more so.
- 25:11Speaker 4: You know, that's my only complaint is that it just
- 25:14Speaker 4: feels a little flat to me on the background packages.
- 25:16Speaker 6: But I really do like these guys.
- 25:18Speaker 4: And you know, obviously anybody who watched this first episode,
- 25:24Speaker 4: nine girls for each guy is a lot of.
- 25:27Speaker 6: Women to get through.
- 25:29Speaker 4: So whereas on the Bachelor we have extremely long limo
- 25:34Speaker 4: entrance nights and we have all these kitchy things and
- 25:37Speaker 4: each girl gets her time on camera, this is like blink,
- 25:42Speaker 4: can you miss it? Like we're going through we're doing
- 25:44Speaker 4: mini dates and we're only getting to actually see three
- 25:48Speaker 4: to four girls speak at a time, right.
- 25:51Speaker 3: Yeah, in fact, that's part of it, right, Like they
- 25:53Speaker 3: have these nine mini dates, of which, man, if you're
- 25:56Speaker 3: a first night or on this particular show and you
- 26:00Speaker 3: don't do something magic, you are you're not even there.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Because they don't even really show much interaction between the
- 26:07Speaker 3: girls without you know, having some ado with the guys
- 26:10Speaker 3: they get, they get into it relatively quickly as far
- 26:12Speaker 3: as it goes. From the standpoint of these nine mini dates,
- 26:15Speaker 3: I mean, we really only see gosh, I think two
- 26:18Speaker 3: or three of each of the guys really during that
- 26:20Speaker 3: whole time frame of those dates. So but you know,
- 26:24Speaker 3: to that end, I mean, there are a couple moments
- 26:26Speaker 3: that stand out, right, I mean there are a couple
- 26:28Speaker 3: moments I think that from these many dates that are
- 26:31Speaker 3: kind of jumping off the screen a little bit, Like
- 26:32Speaker 3: we've got the girl who.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Was missed Texas Carson, right, she comes up to me.
- 26:40Speaker 3: You know, it's funny, I I thought when when she
- 26:43Speaker 3: first came out, I thought, well, she's kind of cute,
- 26:46Speaker 3: and then you know, but after a little bit, I
- 26:50Speaker 3: was kind of like, you know, I have a thing
- 26:51Speaker 3: with pageant girls though, so I always, yeah, I have
- 26:54Speaker 3: a thing, like I always think I can't bring myself
- 26:59Speaker 3: to believe a lot of the because I just feel like.
- 27:02Speaker 2: Everything's sur rehearsed. It's such a terrible thing to say.
- 27:05Speaker 3: But when she came out and she's like, you know,
- 27:07Speaker 3: but she gets the camera out, she takes a picture
- 27:09Speaker 3: of the camera, you know, and the whole thing. And
- 27:11Speaker 3: that was smart. Man, that was a smart move because
- 27:13Speaker 3: he remembered that. He you know, some of these people
- 27:15Speaker 3: do these things and they remember it.
- 27:17Speaker 2: It's pretty good.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Pageant girls, in my experience, are extremely poised. And I've
- 27:22Speaker 4: had to have several conversations with pageant girls over the years,
- 27:25Speaker 4: being like, we got to drop the pageantry for this, right,
- 27:28Speaker 4: I got to get to know you. I got to
- 27:30Speaker 4: get to know the real you, not the pageant you,
- 27:32Speaker 4: so it can be that's.
- 27:34Speaker 2: A great note because I think you're right.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Like they come off they're very polished, obviously beautiful.
- 27:40Speaker 2: I mean that's that's.
- 27:41Speaker 6: Without saying obviously, but it's like they.
- 27:43Speaker 3: They come off and they and they do they kind
- 27:45Speaker 3: of have everything is already worked out, like they know
- 27:48Speaker 3: what they're gonna say, they know how they're going.
- 27:50Speaker 4: To it's rosy. Everything is amazing. When that's just not reality.
- 27:54Speaker 4: That's reality in a pageant, but that's not reality in
- 27:57Speaker 4: real life. And so it sometimes can be very hard
- 28:00Speaker 4: to get that vulnerable side of them. And there's nothing
- 28:04Speaker 4: wrong with being a pageant girl.
- 28:06Speaker 2: I think that my mom was a pageant girl.
- 28:09Speaker 4: If anything, what it shows is the dedication to the
- 28:12Speaker 4: pageantry work, because that is what I've had conversations about,
- 28:17Speaker 4: is undoing somebody's pageantry is what they've worked so hard for.
- 28:24Speaker 4: They have practiced so long to do this, They've paid
- 28:28Speaker 4: so much money, maybe to a pageant coach who has
- 28:30Speaker 4: taught them how to hold themselves and how to have conversations.
- 28:33Speaker 4: So sometimes I'm able to undo it in a matter
- 28:37Speaker 4: of you know, because for anybody who has an auditioned
- 28:39Speaker 4: for a reality TV show, you have a very limited.
- 28:43Speaker 6: Amount of time with a casting director.
- 28:45Speaker 4: You don't get to sit there and warm up for
- 28:47Speaker 4: two hours and have a therapy session with me. You
- 28:50Speaker 4: got to kind of nail it. And I've got the
- 28:53Speaker 4: you know, objection of what I just said. I'm trying
- 28:56Speaker 4: to make you laugh, I'm trying to make you cry,
- 28:57Speaker 4: and I'm trying to do all of it in a
- 28:59Speaker 4: very short amount of time. And if you're not able
- 29:01Speaker 4: to drop those walls, it can be very difficult. But
- 29:04Speaker 4: for a show like this, where they're looking for wholesome,
- 29:08Speaker 4: they're looking for attractive, they're looking for very g rated people.
- 29:14Speaker 4: They might not get that deep into it when it
- 29:17Speaker 4: comes to the casting side. And I also just want
- 29:19Speaker 4: to shout out I have a couple of friends on
- 29:21Speaker 4: the casting team for this show who I absolutely love.
- 29:24Speaker 4: So I'm also excited to be watching it and recapping
- 29:27Speaker 4: it just for the pure fact that I have friends
- 29:30Speaker 4: that work very hard on this show, which is great.
- 29:33Speaker 4: I think Carson's really cute. I think she looks like
- 29:37Speaker 4: Tom Hanks's wife, Rita Wilson.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Rita Wilson interesting.
- 29:41Speaker 6: I think she looked like a young Rita Wilson when
- 29:44Speaker 6: she wasn't.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Getting that vibe, but I was getting that she looks
- 29:46Speaker 2: like someone so.
- 29:48Speaker 6: Maybe that is unless sure, she was really cute.
- 29:51Speaker 4: Then we see on Farmer Brett he gets to go
- 29:56Speaker 4: on a mini date with Hannah. She brings him a
- 29:59Speaker 4: wishing star, like a little star on a card, and
- 30:02Speaker 4: they make a wish. And this was so funny because
- 30:05Speaker 4: then she goes first, tell me what your wish was,
- 30:08Speaker 4: and he was like, Oh no, we're gonna We're gonna
- 30:11Speaker 4: say these out loud.
- 30:12Speaker 3: I didn't think we were supposed to do that.
- 30:14Speaker 4: True, just like I was like, this is this is
- 30:19Speaker 4: these guys. You know, these guys are extremely reserved on
- 30:23Speaker 4: this show for a majority. They're very reserved in real life.
- 30:26Speaker 6: By the way, And so it was cute to have a.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Girl the first one who's trying to already break the
- 30:34Speaker 4: hard exterior shell.
- 30:35Speaker 6: Right She's like, no, open up to me, speak to me,
- 30:38Speaker 6: tell me what's on your mind. And it was a
- 30:41Speaker 6: cute way to do it.
- 30:43Speaker 4: And what I liked about Farmer Brett in this moment
- 30:47Speaker 4: was immediately he was like, you want to come back
- 30:49Speaker 4: to the farm, and that's not what you're supposed to.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Do on this show himself in trouble, we're.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Supposed to build suspense. We're supposed to make these girls
- 30:59Speaker 4: squirrel for the rest.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Of the day. And he goes to each other.
- 31:02Speaker 4: You want to go back. If you could tell it
- 31:04Speaker 4: on her face, she was like can he do that?
- 31:06Speaker 4: Like she was surprised too, but it was cute and
- 31:09Speaker 4: it was so cute. This show should be called Farmer
- 31:12Speaker 4: Wants a Brunette because there's a lot of brunette.
- 31:16Speaker 8: There's a lot of brunettes on this show.
- 31:18Speaker 4: And then we get Lauren. She likes Farmer Brett because
- 31:36Speaker 4: he's older and to me, she looks like Christina Aguilera.
- 31:42Speaker 2: Yes, so Lauren.
- 31:43Speaker 3: I mean I thought this was interesting. Right, She's part
- 31:46Speaker 3: of the Farmer Brett team, right, and she gets her
- 31:52Speaker 3: time to go out and talk.
- 31:54Speaker 2: You know.
- 31:54Speaker 3: She's an ICU nurse from New York. This is what
- 31:57Speaker 3: I'm talking about, right, this is what I'm thinking of.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Let me find her whole on a second.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Yeah, that's her. Oh wait, no, is that her?
- 32:03Speaker 3: Yeah, that's her. She she's uh, I think she's it's
- 32:06Speaker 3: an icy nurse.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Let me read this. Yeah, I see you, nurse from
- 32:08Speaker 2: New York.
- 32:09Speaker 3: She goes out to meet him, right, they have a
- 32:13Speaker 3: nice little exchange. And I don't know if you noticed,
- 32:16Speaker 3: but when she goes out to me him, she's got
- 32:18Speaker 3: a stethoscope in her hand.
- 32:20Speaker 4: I did know the fact that you even clocked that
- 32:23Speaker 4: she was a nurse. I watched this show twice, you guys,
- 32:27Speaker 4: and I it never registered for me.
- 32:30Speaker 3: She's carrying a stethoscope, So I'm sure her initial deal
- 32:35Speaker 3: and maybe she did it and they just didn't.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Show it because it didn't work out in that regard.
- 32:38Speaker 3: She literally I guarantee you was going to put it in
- 32:41Speaker 3: her stethoscope and be like, let me see if your
- 32:42Speaker 3: heart's beating or something.
- 32:44Speaker 2: But I didn't get butterflies from him.
- 32:48Speaker 3: So she comes back to the room and they're like,
- 32:50Speaker 3: you know, oh my god, how did they go? And
- 32:51Speaker 3: she's like, m M, it was okay, and it was
- 32:54Speaker 3: just like, you know, yeah, he's nice, but you know,
- 32:57Speaker 3: then she ends up spoiler?
- 33:00Speaker 2: Can I spoil it?
- 33:01Speaker 4: I mean, if they're listening to this recap, let's hope
- 33:04Speaker 4: you guys have watched the show by now, because this
- 33:06Speaker 4: whole thing is a spoiler.
- 33:08Speaker 3: She ends up bailing on our boy Bratt, like just
- 33:11Speaker 3: like it's like, he's not my thing.
- 33:12Speaker 4: Unless she just overhears all the other women talking about
- 33:16Speaker 4: farmer Braden.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I think she gets kind of infatuated with the
- 33:20Speaker 3: Bradley Cooper.
- 33:20Speaker 2: I believe they called him a farming Yeah.
- 33:23Speaker 4: I mean, listen, I think it's less about what these
- 33:27Speaker 4: women were saying. If she was super honest, Yeah, she
- 33:30Speaker 4: probably saw the farmers walk out, and this goes back
- 33:33Speaker 4: to what I've said about them actually not choosing which
- 33:37Speaker 4: farmer they go to. This is a perfect example, right,
- 33:41Speaker 4: she saw those farmers for the first time during this episode,
- 33:46Speaker 4: she saw them all walk out and she was probably like,
- 33:50Speaker 4: farmer Brett not my type, Farmer Braiden my type, because
- 33:55Speaker 4: these conversations are so short and so quick. This first
- 34:00Speaker 4: night is it's about looks people, This is this is dating,
- 34:05Speaker 4: is about attraction and yes and the initial attraction, and
- 34:10Speaker 4: that's where these decisions are being made. And that's not
- 34:14Speaker 4: me being you know, cynical, that's just how this is.
- 34:19Speaker 4: These shows are moving extremely fast. These girls are not
- 34:23Speaker 4: getting more than ten minutes to talk to these guys
- 34:26Speaker 4: and likewise, and that's just how this is made. Now
- 34:30Speaker 4: moving forward, when they go back to the farm and
- 34:33Speaker 4: they're getting to spend more time with each other and
- 34:35Speaker 4: those kinds of conversations, that's when it's less I think,
- 34:38Speaker 4: superficial and it's more about are we in line with
- 34:41Speaker 4: our morals and values? You know what I mean? Like
- 34:44Speaker 4: the girl that's challenging the guide to a race, that's
- 34:48Speaker 4: her whole ten minutes right there, You.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Know, like that exactly.
- 34:51Speaker 4: You don't know anything about her, and Bob, you've you know,
- 34:55Speaker 4: been on the other side of this where you met
- 34:57Speaker 4: so many women in one night. You know that you
- 34:59Speaker 4: probably couldn't even remember all their names, you know, by
- 35:01Speaker 4: the end of this No, it was.
- 35:03Speaker 2: It was crazy. I remember that.
- 35:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 35:05Speaker 2: I actually at the end of the night, I took notes.
- 35:08Speaker 2: I really did. I took I took This is gonna
- 35:10Speaker 2: sound crazy, but I took notes.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Of each woman, even the ones I sent home, especially
- 35:14Speaker 3: the ones I sent home what I remembered from our
- 35:16Speaker 3: conversations because I I wanted to like, and I sent
- 35:19Speaker 3: them all thank you card when I got home, basically
- 35:23Speaker 3: saying like, thank.
- 35:23Speaker 6: You goes back to what I said Bob has.
- 35:27Speaker 4: Bob's got the riz and he's got.
- 35:32Speaker 2: Well, I just felt lost things. My wife sure does
- 35:35Speaker 2: a good job of it. But other than her, yeah,
- 35:38Speaker 2: I guess so.
- 35:39Speaker 3: All right, So Lauren, uh yeah, so Lauren kind of
- 35:43Speaker 3: bucks the system does her own thing. Stephanie's up next model, right,
- 35:47Speaker 3: She's tall, she's she comes out and she's like I
- 35:52Speaker 3: normally am dating younger than me. The first guy I'm
- 35:56Speaker 3: dating it's older than me, and they basically are like,
- 35:58Speaker 3: you know, she I think she's the one that makes
- 35:59Speaker 3: the of like are you falling in love with me already?
- 36:03Speaker 6: Are we going to make out?
- 36:04Speaker 2: Are we going to make out and he's like, I
- 36:06Speaker 2: can't do that.
- 36:07Speaker 6: Can't do that yet, like so serious.
- 36:10Speaker 4: Right on a typical dating show, I think somebody would
- 36:13Speaker 4: be like, you gotta buy me dinner first or something,
- 36:15Speaker 4: you know, somebody would say something funny back. But he
- 36:18Speaker 4: was like, I can't do that. I was like, okay,
- 36:22Speaker 4: I promise well, and this is when we get also
- 36:28Speaker 4: a shot of Heather Martin. She doesn't even speak basically
- 36:33Speaker 4: in this episode, but which was a little scary for me.
- 36:36Speaker 6: I'm not gonna lie.
- 36:37Speaker 4: When I first watched this, I was like, oh no,
- 36:40Speaker 4: Heather Martin doesn't even speak in this first episode. I
- 36:44Speaker 4: think she might be going home, but that was a
- 36:46Speaker 4: little editing trick they got me because he does not
- 36:51Speaker 4: go home in this episode. She gets invited back to
- 36:53Speaker 4: the farm, but maybe her little mini date. She was
- 36:57Speaker 4: on Colton's season, and then she also attempted to join
- 37:04Speaker 4: Matt James's season, but she didn't end up.
- 37:07Speaker 6: He didn't like let her.
- 37:08Speaker 4: In or something. It's been a minute guy since I
- 37:11Speaker 4: watched that, but she did not get on his season,
- 37:14Speaker 4: and then she also was on Paradise I believe wow,
- 37:19Speaker 4: So she is listen. Bachelor Nation knows who she is.
- 37:23Speaker 4: You know, I'm actually intrigued to see if they will.
- 37:27Speaker 6: Address that at some point on this show.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I feel like they should.
- 37:33Speaker 3: I mean, you know, I should other than the Cross
- 37:37Speaker 3: Cross network type of promotion, but I feel like they
- 37:40Speaker 3: should because at the end of the day, you know,
- 37:42Speaker 3: if I were her, there's a way you could spend that.
- 37:45Speaker 3: I think, you know where you could say I've seen
- 37:47Speaker 3: a lot of successful relationships come off of this thing
- 37:49Speaker 3: and you know, love it first sight. But none of
- 37:51Speaker 3: those guys that they were casting as the bachelor because
- 37:53Speaker 3: she she could say this, you know, we.
- 37:56Speaker 4: Girls could come after her though, saying that she's a
- 37:58Speaker 4: cloud chaser. I think that it's a double edged sword,
- 38:02Speaker 4: but I will be interested to see how, if, and
- 38:05Speaker 4: how they address it on this show. And then with
- 38:08Speaker 4: Farmer Sean, we see Olivia and they connect because of
- 38:14Speaker 4: their love for Montana and she.
- 38:16Speaker 6: Has two businesses.
- 38:18Speaker 4: She says, one is woodworking, the other is spraytnds and lashes,
- 38:22Speaker 4: which I was.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Like, beauty and wood. I mean, it's all woodworking.
- 38:27Speaker 4: I just I really need to do a more of
- 38:29Speaker 4: a deep dive on Olivia and understand, like, how does
- 38:32Speaker 4: she go from whittling to spraytos Well.
- 38:37Speaker 3: First of all, I gotta believe I mean, she she
- 38:39Speaker 3: seemed to know her tools, a skill saw and I have.
- 38:43Speaker 2: A jigsaw and all these different things.
- 38:45Speaker 3: And he's like, well, damn like he was impressed with that,
- 38:48Speaker 3: and it definitely resonated.
- 38:50Speaker 4: And she's adorable. Oh my god, she's so key you.
- 38:55Speaker 4: I was like, I was like, this girl has an amazing,
- 38:58Speaker 4: cute little personality in this little snippet that I'm getting
- 39:02Speaker 4: to know her. I'm already liking what I see now.
- 39:05Speaker 4: On the other hand, then we meet Cameron, who's also adorable.
- 39:11Speaker 4: The girls on this show are so cute, so super cute.
- 39:14Speaker 2: I was going to say that the cast thing was great.
- 39:16Speaker 4: Yeah, they're really adorable. Cameron you know, says that dating
- 39:21Speaker 4: in her hometown is hard, and then she you know,
- 39:24Speaker 4: says that she's also a single mom. She's got a
- 39:26Speaker 4: four year old back home, and that adds like another layer.
- 39:32Speaker 4: She has a farm where she says she has twenty
- 39:35Speaker 4: eight dogs.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Twenty eight that's a lot.
- 39:37Speaker 6: That's a lot of dogs.
- 39:39Speaker 2: Yeah. I love dogs, but I don't love anything that much.
- 39:41Speaker 4: I will say. The second she revealed she was a
- 39:45Speaker 4: single mom. I knew it was going to be a pass.
- 39:48Speaker 4: And I say that because Farmer Sean is twenty two
- 39:56Speaker 4: years old. Oh my gosh, Yeah, that guy is Yeah,
- 40:01Speaker 4: he is not ready for that. I fully believe him
- 40:04Speaker 4: when he says he's ready for a wife. But I
- 40:07Speaker 4: believe this is the kind of man that is ready
- 40:09Speaker 4: for a wife and then kids five years.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Yeah, Timeline, I do not see.
- 40:17Speaker 4: And there is nothing wrong with being a single mom.
- 40:19Speaker 4: There is nothing wrong with going on a dating show
- 40:21Speaker 4: as a single mom. I think it's beautiful. I kind
- 40:25Speaker 4: of wish they'd partnered her with Farmer Brett. Yeah, I
- 40:30Speaker 4: was kind of annoyed that they gave her with they
- 40:33Speaker 4: put her with the youngest one, because even Farmer Brayden.
- 40:38Speaker 4: That the thing is is that had she gotten had
- 40:43Speaker 4: she been matched with Farmer Brett. And let's say, I
- 40:46Speaker 4: can't we can pull up her age. I don't remember
- 40:48Speaker 4: it off the top of my head, but she was
- 40:51Speaker 4: she's young here she is Cameron twenty three, twenty three, okay,
- 40:55Speaker 4: so that would have been like a big age difference
- 40:59Speaker 4: because Farmer Brett is thirty one.
- 41:03Speaker 6: So this is the thing.
- 41:05Speaker 4: Though being a mom already makes her in a different
- 41:10Speaker 4: playing field than all of these young girls because she's
- 41:15Speaker 4: responsible for a life that she raises and everything. That
- 41:20Speaker 4: adds a huge level of maturity to you. So putting
- 41:25Speaker 4: her with the twenty two year old was a choice
- 41:28Speaker 4: by the producer.
- 41:30Speaker 3: He probably and let's be honest, you know, guys at
- 41:33Speaker 3: twenty two and women at twenty two, you know, guys
- 41:37Speaker 3: are still basically kids.
- 41:39Speaker 2: I'm sorry, he's.
- 41:40Speaker 4: Like, he's only been out of high school for a
- 41:42Speaker 4: couple of years.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean that's just crazy.
- 41:46Speaker 4: I just feel like it was kind of a bummer
- 41:49Speaker 4: to then see her have this like moment right when
- 41:53Speaker 4: we talk about that there's only a couple of girls
- 41:55Speaker 4: that actually get screen time in this first episode, So
- 41:58Speaker 4: this is another editing trick. You fall in love with
- 42:01Speaker 4: this girl. You hear this whole journey right now. This
- 42:04Speaker 4: is a full pledged character to me, Yeah, character contestant.
- 42:09Speaker 4: She we now know that like her humble beginnings, we
- 42:12Speaker 4: know that she's a mom. We know why she's on
- 42:15Speaker 4: this show because she lives in a small town and
- 42:17Speaker 4: dating is difficult for being in a small town and
- 42:19Speaker 4: being a single mom. So now I'm invested in this
- 42:24Speaker 4: journey for her, and then I have to be you know,
- 42:28Speaker 4: with the sucker punch when I get to see her
- 42:31Speaker 4: then go home at the end of this episode and
- 42:33Speaker 4: balling her eyes out.
- 42:34Speaker 3: You know.
- 42:34Speaker 4: So producers knew what they were doing when they did that,
- 42:38Speaker 4: but I knew the second that she said single mom,
- 42:41Speaker 4: I knew it was going to also be He's He's
- 42:43Speaker 4: going to pass on this one for that reason, I think,
- 42:46Speaker 4: just because of the he's just not there yet. But
- 42:50Speaker 4: then that's when we get like quick montages of all
- 42:52Speaker 4: the mini dates that we don't get to see, and
- 42:56Speaker 4: then we see Lauren what you said earlier. She pulls
- 42:59Speaker 4: the producer her. She says that she wants to meet
- 43:01Speaker 4: farmer Braden, and they have a very awkward kind of
- 43:05Speaker 4: encounter because they're like, it's not going to be like
- 43:08Speaker 4: a mini date like everybody else, So they just have
- 43:10Speaker 4: to walk to each other in a field and kind
- 43:12Speaker 4: of talk in the middle of the field and he's like,
- 43:16Speaker 4: she's like, hi, like I wanted to meet you, and
- 43:19Speaker 4: he's like thanks, it's nice to meet you. And it's
- 43:23Speaker 4: just like it's just like super strange.
- 43:28Speaker 3: I guarantee you there are some really awkward silences in there.
- 43:30Speaker 3: That they edited it out because it just seemed like
- 43:32Speaker 3: they were both just sort of.
- 43:34Speaker 2: Like sitting there.
- 43:34Speaker 4: Like my favorite part is she says, I grew up
- 43:39Speaker 4: in upstate New York, and I go fishing and hunting
- 43:42Speaker 4: all the time.
- 43:43Speaker 2: I got a crossbuw of paying strings.
- 43:45Speaker 4: I am going to say that's a lie. I'm sorry,
- 43:48Speaker 4: I'm gonna call it on that one, Christina Aguilera, because
- 43:56Speaker 4: I think that you've maybe done those things when you
- 43:59Speaker 4: were made be a child growing up. But I'm gonna
- 44:02Speaker 4: bet you don't do that every single weekend based on
- 44:06Speaker 4: how manicured and put together you are. Am I being
- 44:09Speaker 4: rude by saying that you can't be manicured and put
- 44:12Speaker 4: together and love hunting and fishing on the weekends. Come
- 44:16Speaker 4: for me, Come for me. I would love to know
- 44:20Speaker 4: out there how many well groomed women that clearly put
- 44:26Speaker 4: an emphasis on how put together they are when they
- 44:30Speaker 4: present themselves are out there hunting.
- 44:34Speaker 6: I just I just don't believe that.
- 44:35Speaker 2: I don't believe I even think more about fishing.
- 44:37Speaker 3: Like for me, it's like, man if I got you know,
- 44:40Speaker 3: she has on a nice outfit, she's you know, the
- 44:43Speaker 3: likelihood of her putting a worm on a hook, come on,
- 44:56Speaker 3: and then to.
- 44:57Speaker 6: Follow it up with he says, you know, I can't.
- 45:01Speaker 4: She says like she's down to move anywhere, and he says, well,
- 45:04Speaker 4: you know, I live in Homer, Illinois.
- 45:05Speaker 6: I can't pick up the farm.
- 45:07Speaker 2: Oh my god, I don't even know where Illinois is.
- 45:09Speaker 6: And then she goes, I don't know where Illinois is either.
- 45:13Speaker 3: She is a genius and read into it really quickly
- 45:16Speaker 3: that he kind of likes, like, you know, the dumb
- 45:18Speaker 3: chick thing or.
- 45:22Speaker 2: See you nurse, dude's.
- 45:24Speaker 3: An There is no way you can be an I
- 45:26Speaker 3: nurse and not no basic geography.
- 45:29Speaker 2: I'm sorry, Well you gotta be smart.
- 45:32Speaker 4: I can say this too, So I don't think she's
- 45:35Speaker 4: playing dumb. And I don't think she is dumb because
- 45:39Speaker 4: she doesn't know where Illinois is on the map. I think,
- 45:43Speaker 4: first of all, you can have your nursing degree and
- 45:47Speaker 4: doesn't mean you're actively a nurse. So it's not technically
- 45:50Speaker 4: a lie to sit say in her bio that she
- 45:53Speaker 4: is a nurse.
- 45:55Speaker 2: You've met her, haven't you.
- 45:59Speaker 4: I'm not she could very well be an active nurse.
- 46:02Speaker 4: She could very well just have a active license and
- 46:07Speaker 4: is not actually practicing being a nurse right now.
- 46:12Speaker 2: She could be an influencer.
- 46:13Speaker 4: She could be an aspiring influencer, or decided if she
- 46:17Speaker 4: could be a travel nurse like right now where she
- 46:19Speaker 4: has a more flexible schedule.
- 46:21Speaker 6: There's a whole myriad of things that she could be
- 46:23Speaker 6: doing now.
- 46:25Speaker 4: I think that this not knowing where Illinois is on
- 46:28Speaker 4: the map is going to haunt her. That she said
- 46:31Speaker 4: that people are going to now ask her every time
- 46:34Speaker 4: they meet her if they she knows where Illinois. But
- 46:37Speaker 4: good for her, she is going to know because after
- 46:41Speaker 4: this first episode she is chosen to go back to
- 46:43Speaker 4: the farm, so she is going to be going to
- 46:45Speaker 4: Illinois after this, so she will know. But that comment
- 46:51Speaker 4: is what also further enforced in my mind that she
- 46:57Speaker 4: does not hunt and fish because I just don't buy it.
- 47:01Speaker 4: So anyways, Christina Aguilera, Lauren, we can't wait to see
- 47:07Speaker 4: how you are on the farm next week with all
- 47:10Speaker 4: the other girls, because when it comes to the choosing
- 47:14Speaker 4: at the farm ceremony inviting who comes back, the girls
- 47:19Speaker 4: in Farmer Braden's team are shocked. I use air quotes
- 47:23Speaker 4: when I say that, yeah, shocked that Lauren is now
- 47:26Speaker 4: part of the group. Making their group ten, meaning five
- 47:30Speaker 4: of them are going home versus four of them. Yes,
- 47:35Speaker 4: that also felt extremely forced to me. I don't think
- 47:37Speaker 4: anybody cared. It sounded very what we call frank and
- 47:41Speaker 4: bite when you go back and.
- 47:43Speaker 2: Listen chopping together.
- 47:45Speaker 4: It was a little choppy, choppy where it was like Lauren,
- 47:49Speaker 4: I can't believe she's here.
- 47:54Speaker 2: I can't believe Lauren is here. This is crazy.
- 47:57Speaker 6: I don't want to ruin the magic for listeners.
- 48:00Speaker 4: You don't watch TV like you and I watch TV
- 48:04Speaker 4: having been on the other side. But when somebody is
- 48:08Speaker 4: saying something and you're hearing the audio and you're not
- 48:13Speaker 4: seeing lips move on screen.
- 48:16Speaker 2: It can come from anywhere.
- 48:17Speaker 4: It can come from anywhere at any time. That is
- 48:20Speaker 4: actually part of the contract that you sign when you
- 48:23Speaker 4: go on all of these shows is giving permission to
- 48:27Speaker 4: the network and to the editors of this show to
- 48:32Speaker 4: use your voice and footage in whatever way that they
- 48:37Speaker 4: want to. That is part of this. That is not
- 48:40Speaker 4: this show specific. This is every reality show has the
- 48:44Speaker 4: ability to do this, and that is because this were
- 48:47Speaker 4: a couple of reasons, but Bob, you know this, there's
- 48:51Speaker 4: no reshoots when it comes to a reality show. So
- 48:55Speaker 4: when they shoot it and it is done and in
- 48:57Speaker 4: the can they have to make what they can make
- 49:02Speaker 4: from that.
- 49:04Speaker 6: You got to make it work.
- 49:05Speaker 4: And if you know, you're an actor and you're shooting
- 49:09Speaker 4: a show or a movie or something and you're going
- 49:11Speaker 4: back and you're editing a scene and it's not working
- 49:14Speaker 4: and we didn't get the right coverage or the person's
- 49:17Speaker 4: microphone wasn't working that day, I need you to go
- 49:19Speaker 4: back and rerecorder. We need to reshoot. Reshoots are very expensive,
- 49:23Speaker 4: but that's how they do it in that world. They
- 49:26Speaker 4: don't have the ability to do that in reality TV.
- 49:29Speaker 4: And that doesn't make this any less real. I don't
- 49:33Speaker 4: want to, you know, put this out there that you
- 49:37Speaker 4: know reality TV is all fake and da da da
- 49:40Speaker 4: da da, it's not.
- 49:42Speaker 2: I always say this.
- 49:43Speaker 3: The the the conversations that occur and the emotions that
- 49:49Speaker 3: people feel, those aren't fake.
- 49:51Speaker 6: Those aren't exactly as the.
- 49:52Speaker 3: Situations that they are put in are very produced and manipulated.
- 49:57Speaker 2: And some people do it better than others.
- 49:59Speaker 8: Right.
- 50:00Speaker 3: One of the things, yeah, and one of the things
- 50:02Speaker 3: about The Bachelor that I always have said is the
- 50:05Speaker 3: Bachelor producers for the at least at least in the
- 50:08Speaker 3: timeframe that I had done the show and for many
- 50:11Speaker 3: after me.
- 50:12Speaker 2: We're wonderful at producing romance. They really were.
- 50:15Speaker 3: They were great at producing romantic situations, placing people in
- 50:18Speaker 3: them somehow, getting people to feel comfortable quickly, and getting
- 50:22Speaker 3: the conversations that they probably had storyboarded out weeks before
- 50:26Speaker 3: to hopefully have you know, those conversations take place based
- 50:30Speaker 3: on what they knew about these individuals. It's just master
- 50:33Speaker 3: manipulation at its finest. And I think that that's if
- 50:36Speaker 3: you think about it. Then when people are like, well,
- 50:38Speaker 3: all those things are fake and stage, now those are different.
- 50:41Speaker 3: Fake and stage, they're different, Right, A stage situation can
- 50:45Speaker 3: give you the context you want, right, And so that's
- 50:48Speaker 3: where I think these producers and the relationships they create
- 50:50Speaker 3: with the cast, and you know, that's where you're so good.
- 50:53Speaker 3: I mean, you're you're great at making connections with people
- 50:55Speaker 3: right away and you know, feeling and making people feel comfortable.
- 50:58Speaker 3: And when you have that ability to do that, you
- 51:00Speaker 3: also have the ability to get the desired responses out
- 51:04Speaker 3: of people that you're looking for based on the circumstances
- 51:07Speaker 3: in the in the chemistry.
- 51:08Speaker 7: Right.
- 51:09Speaker 6: Wow, that's just like we practice that conversation.
- 51:11Speaker 4: Thank you so much. You did such a good job. Yeah, yeah,
- 51:15Speaker 4: that was good, just like we practice.
- 51:18Speaker 6: No, you're you're absolutely right in what you're saying.
- 51:21Speaker 4: And I will say that as producers, we can hope
- 51:28Speaker 4: and have things mapped out in our brains or you know,
- 51:32Speaker 4: as a team before we go into something. But the
- 51:35Speaker 4: beauty of reality TV is that sometimes truth is stranger
- 51:39Speaker 4: than fiction. And some of the craziest moments and things
- 51:44Speaker 4: that end up happening on camera are not planned or anticipated,
- 51:49Speaker 4: and you have to roll with it in the moment.
- 51:52Speaker 4: The crew has to roll with it. The people that
- 51:54Speaker 4: are in that you know, scenario have to roll with it.
- 51:57Speaker 4: And that's when you can get some really memorable moments.
- 52:00Speaker 4: And now when I look at this episode and I think,
- 52:02Speaker 4: you know, okay, so here's when we say this is
- 52:04Speaker 4: what's planned. The plan is is that the girls meet
- 52:08Speaker 4: the farmers. They each get their little ten minutes. That's
- 52:11Speaker 4: the planned element. Now, how the conversation happens in those
- 52:16Speaker 4: ten minutes is less planned.
- 52:18Speaker 6: Maybe unless they had like a gimmick.
- 52:20Speaker 4: That they were bringing into it, or whatever camera the camera,
- 52:24Speaker 4: or challenging to a race and things like that. That's
- 52:27Speaker 4: pre planned and that's usually approved. But the whole Farmer
- 52:32Speaker 4: Brett saying you want to go back to the farm
- 52:33Speaker 4: right now, that was that was reality. That was that
- 52:36Speaker 4: guy being caught up in the moment, and that is
- 52:39Speaker 4: not producers telling him to do that. But then producers
- 52:41Speaker 4: can't go back and be like, yeah, you can't do
- 52:45Speaker 4: the un inviter, So you know, that's reality. And then
- 52:48Speaker 4: the same thing when we I want to say that
- 52:51Speaker 4: when we see Lauren have her moment not be interested in,
- 52:57Speaker 4: you know, farmer Brett and pulling a producer aside and
- 53:00Speaker 4: saying I want to talk to Branden. I want to
- 53:03Speaker 4: believe that there is a reality element of that.
- 53:07Speaker 6: I'm going to leave it at that.
- 53:07Speaker 4: I don't want to be too sinple and I don't
- 53:09Speaker 4: want to nitpick, you know.
- 53:12Speaker 3: But I'm gonna go back and follow her and catch
- 53:16Speaker 3: that conversation.
- 53:16Speaker 4: With you bring it up. I mean, that's that's the
- 53:21Speaker 4: element where I look at things a little bit differently
- 53:25Speaker 4: than probably the average viewer and you too. But yeah,
- 53:28Speaker 4: it's it's the far away shot of the conversation happening
- 53:33Speaker 4: now that very well could have been real. We could
- 53:37Speaker 4: have maybe just had a very limited camera crew at
- 53:39Speaker 4: the time, because we've got three station cameras. We've got
- 53:42Speaker 4: one on each farmer, we've got one back in the
- 53:44Speaker 4: barn looking at the girls. So we might have just
- 53:48Speaker 4: been limited on cameras and it was just put that
- 53:51Speaker 4: one on sticks, turn it around, shoot, you know long
- 53:54Speaker 4: ways this conversation that's happening between.
- 53:57Speaker 6: Through the yeah, you know what I mean.
- 53:59Speaker 4: So there is an element that I'm like, I want
- 54:02Speaker 4: to give them, you know, I don't want to fault
- 54:06Speaker 4: them if it was real, but there there is an
- 54:09Speaker 4: element of it feeling a little bit produced in the
- 54:12Speaker 4: sense that, you know, right, that's the controversy of the episode,
- 54:15Speaker 4: and we have to have something that goes a little
- 54:19Speaker 4: off the rails because then this forces Farmer Brayden to
- 54:23Speaker 4: then have to make a decision. But he also wants
- 54:25Speaker 4: to be a gentleman, so he has to go back
- 54:27Speaker 4: to the boys and ask, you know, how to.
- 54:29Speaker 2: They feel like that like this.
- 54:31Speaker 4: Of course he's like, I just met these guys.
- 54:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I think I'm sure that was as well,
- 54:36Speaker 3: but I do think that, you know, and I was
- 54:38Speaker 3: even thinking about it, I was thinking, Wow, I wonder
- 54:41Speaker 3: if Farmer.
- 54:42Speaker 2: Brett's going to be you know, if he was into her,
- 54:44Speaker 2: which he didn't seem like he was.
- 54:46Speaker 3: No, But I actually I liked the fact that that
- 54:50Speaker 3: it was Braiden right, that Brandon went back to Bretton
- 54:52Speaker 3: and Sean and was like, hey, guys, here's where I'm
- 54:55Speaker 3: at with this and this happened and you know, and
- 54:58Speaker 3: he's like, hey, man, go for it. Good bye, Which
- 55:00Speaker 3: I thought that was a cool moment because it allows
- 55:03Speaker 3: us to now still root for all three farmers as
- 55:06Speaker 3: opposed to thinking, oh, this dude's a little bit of
- 55:08Speaker 3: a scammer, you know, or whatever, even though he didn't
- 55:10Speaker 3: do it.
- 55:11Speaker 6: And what have producers done in this episode?
- 55:13Speaker 4: They have set up for us that Lauren is going
- 55:16Speaker 4: to be the villain and her farm at least, and so,
- 55:22Speaker 4: you know, it's an interesting way to start a season.
- 55:26Speaker 4: We do get a preview. Well, actually, we'll just talk
- 55:29Speaker 4: really quick about who ends up going home to the farm.
- 55:33Speaker 4: So Brandon chooses Casey.
- 55:35Speaker 2: She's actually my sleeper. She's my sleeper on this show. Okay.
- 55:38Speaker 3: Actually, I think her conversation with him was so easy.
- 55:42Speaker 2: I don't know if you if you recall, but she
- 55:45Speaker 2: was making him laugh. She was very chill.
- 55:47Speaker 3: She was very pretty, very put together, but had a
- 55:49Speaker 3: lot of confidence, but at the same time, nothing seemed
- 55:53Speaker 3: overly animated to me. So I'm just I'm saying that
- 55:56Speaker 3: upfront that I think Casey is.
- 55:57Speaker 2: Going to be a contender on this, okay.
- 56:01Speaker 4: And then he takes Brittany, Cameron, Carson, and Lauren. So
- 56:05Speaker 4: that's a lot of seas for for farmer Branden. And
- 56:09Speaker 4: then farmer Sean takes Emily, Olivia, Carson, Ali, Beth and Macy.
- 56:17Speaker 4: Meaning this is when we find out he sends home
- 56:20Speaker 4: the single mom Cameron, who we got to know, you know,
- 56:23Speaker 4: fairly well. And then farmer Brett we already know he
- 56:26Speaker 4: invited Hannah back. He also brings back Quinn, Cassie, Heather, Martin,
- 56:31Speaker 4: and Stephanie.
- 56:33Speaker 6: And then that's.
- 56:34Speaker 4: When Kimberly Williams Paisley says that each farmer now gets
- 56:39Speaker 4: to choose one out of his five women to go
- 56:42Speaker 4: back to the farm early have some uninterrupted alone time.
- 56:45Speaker 4: And I think this is really, uh the telling moment,
- 56:51Speaker 4: right because now they've got to choose the one that
- 56:53Speaker 4: they quote unquote like the most or want are most
- 56:56Speaker 4: intrigued by.
- 56:58Speaker 6: And that's when Sean chooses Olivia.
- 57:00Speaker 4: Olivia we said was the one that has a woodworking
- 57:03Speaker 4: business as well as lashes and sprayed hands. And then
- 57:07Speaker 4: Brett has Cassie and she is the girl who challenged
- 57:12Speaker 4: him to a race that we never really got to see.
- 57:15Speaker 4: So that was kind of interesting because he had such
- 57:17Speaker 4: a spark with Hannah, you would think that that would
- 57:21Speaker 4: be the one he would take home first, but something
- 57:23Speaker 4: about Cassie. And then Brandon chooses Carson, and Carson is
- 57:28Speaker 4: the one that had the camera and she was the
- 57:30Speaker 4: first one that he met, so's she's very cute Miss Texas. Yeah,
- 57:34Speaker 4: so then we see Tis Texas, two time Miss Texas.
- 57:38Speaker 4: She's got a pageantry in her that one. Then we
- 57:42Speaker 4: get a preview of this season. We see, like I said,
- 57:45Speaker 4: you know, the girls moving into the farms, lots of kissing,
- 57:49Speaker 4: Sean saying to one woman, a lot of the girl's
- 57:53Speaker 4: view you as very strategic.
- 57:57Speaker 3: Can't I'm guessing I'm trying to figure out who I
- 58:00Speaker 3: can see.
- 58:01Speaker 2: If Braydon was saying that.
- 58:02Speaker 3: I think he would be saying that to Lauren, right,
- 58:06Speaker 3: you know, but you've got Sean saying it. I don't
- 58:09Speaker 3: feel like we've got to know his ladies well enough
- 58:11Speaker 3: yet to know which one they might be saying that.
- 58:13Speaker 4: About exactly, and then Carson saying that there's a target
- 58:18Speaker 4: on her back, and then we see lots of crying,
- 58:22Speaker 4: and then we see Brett saying this farmer for.
- 58:25Speaker 2: A wife found a whif.
- 58:27Speaker 4: So I don't you know, it'll be interesting. I'm actually
- 58:31Speaker 4: I want to know what the listeners think that have
- 58:32Speaker 4: watched maybe the show in the past, or even if
- 58:35Speaker 4: you're watching it for the first time. I can say
- 58:37Speaker 4: that last season, all four Farmers none of them got
- 58:41Speaker 4: engaged at the end of their season. So I'd be
- 58:44Speaker 4: interested to see if somebody actually proposes, because I don't
- 58:48Speaker 4: know if you remember this from season three, but later
- 58:52Speaker 4: on in the season they brought back people from season
- 58:57Speaker 4: one or two or something that were mayor read to
- 59:01Speaker 4: come and meet everybody, to come and talk to everybody,
- 59:03Speaker 4: So I don't know how they would navigate that this season,
- 59:06Speaker 4: because I'm fairly positive they all broke up from last season.
- 59:11Speaker 2: Yeah, we know Matt and Chelsea did I know?
- 59:15Speaker 4: I know, Farmer John did I know? And I don't
- 59:20Speaker 4: even think the other two even had anything going after
- 59:24Speaker 4: the cameras rolled right, So yeah, I'm interested. But overall, Bob,
- 59:30Speaker 4: what would you say, are you into this show? You're
- 59:33Speaker 4: feeling it? What are you most excited about? Would you say?
- 59:37Speaker 3: You know, listen, I am as jaded as the next
- 59:41Speaker 3: guy when it comes to this stuff, but there is
- 59:42Speaker 3: a bit of a wholesome quality to this show that
- 59:45Speaker 3: that I do find appealing. Like I was sitting there
- 59:48Speaker 3: and watching it, you know, thinking to myself like, like,
- 59:51Speaker 3: I'm rooting for these people. I really am, And I
- 59:53Speaker 3: think that it's not just you know, I mean I
- 59:56Speaker 3: root for everybody on The Bachelor.
- 59:58Speaker 2: I root for everybody in the Bachelor. Do I genuinely
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: root for everybody?
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: But it's one of those moments where I was like
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: watching this show and I thought, man, I feel like,
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: you know, I think you've heard me say this. But
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: when people say, oh, are they here for the right reasons?
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: My response has always been, well, what are the right
- 1:00:12Speaker 3: reasons to go on a reality dating show? Like, you know,
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: what are the right reasons? Because I don't know, I
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: don't know what those right reasons are. But I think
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: that when you watch a show like this where it's
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: kind of like they are kind of rooting for each other, Yes,
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: you're going to have that same type of competitiveness.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: It's going to come out and some people later in
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: the in the in the thing, but.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: It's starting off at least with a pro you know,
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: happy type of you know environment, and I'm hopeful that
- 1:00:39Speaker 3: that continues for a little bit because there are a
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: few people on this show, Like there's that I think
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: her name is Ali Bath?
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Is that her name? Hanging on a second, what is yeah?
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: Ali Bath? Who?
- 1:00:50Speaker 3: I'm like, Oh my god, this woman seems like she's
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: too sweet to even be real, you know what I mean.
- 1:00:54Speaker 3: So part of me is like, I hope they I
- 1:00:57Speaker 3: hope that they connect, you know or whatever. Olivia, like
- 1:00:59Speaker 3: you said, the woodworker seemed like they had a really
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: genuine connection. So it'll be it'll be interesting to see
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: and I would love to see, you know, I would
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: love to see some people come off of this thing
- 1:01:09Speaker 3: with an opportunity at least to explore it a little further.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: But I'm in right now. I mean, I actually I'm
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: liking the vibe. I'm excited to see the the farm.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: Maybe it's the fact that there's no like catch phrase
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: really like you know, you want you want to come
- 1:01:23Speaker 3: back to my farm.
- 1:01:24Speaker 2: It's just not a catchphrase to me, like I.
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: I think it should be like, you know, would you
- 1:01:28Speaker 3: lock the rains, you.
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: Know, or something like that. Can I give you the
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: rains with my horse? I don't know. I don't know
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: what you think that we got to work it out?
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: Would you can I hand you my rake?
- 1:01:35Speaker 3: I don't know what the farmers could give that would be,
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: you know, a welcome back to my farm thing, because
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: that's saying do you want to come back to my car?
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: Farm?
- 1:01:42Speaker 6: Is just are you ready?
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: Yeah? That means you're ready to plow? Are you ready
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: to plow right now?
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: Double entendre?
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: Are you? Oh? Yeah, I'm not too Yeah. I also
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: farming like you could you could get some good answers
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: out of that. I like that DF.
- 1:02:02Speaker 4: I like that this show is cute. I will say
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: for anybody that listen to our recaps of Love Overboard,
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: this is like straight up whiplash because this is the
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: complete opposite of that show, which was you know, making
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: out and foul language and drinking and alcohol and craziness.
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: This is not that. And I think that, you know,
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: for me, as much as I've worked on the other
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: side of things, it's not always the case for people
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: that have done what I do. But I'm obsessed with
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: reality TV and I love it and I know how
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: the sausage is made, and I.
- 1:02:37Speaker 6: Still still love it, and.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: It's what I consume on a regular basis. It's actually crazy.
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: So many people that you and I work with love
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: scripted shows, and I just really pull one maybe a
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: year or two. And I really love reality and I
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: love seeing people fall in love on TV. I think
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: it's so special, it's so sweet, and so you know,
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: I'm rooting for this season after especially getting to meet
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: the guys. I'm rooting for them. I think they're all
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: such nice men, So I'm excited about this.
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: I like that you met them and liked them.
- 1:03:14Speaker 3: That makes me feel even better about doing this because
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: I I want to like these guys and I do
- 1:03:20Speaker 3: so far. And I like a lot of the ladies too,
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: Like I feel like, you know, as we get to
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: know these ladies too, I think it's going to be
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: a lot more fun to get invested in in the
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: way this whole thing goes. And you know, hey, man,
- 1:03:32Speaker 3: we got three strikes, right, so we got three chances
- 1:03:35Speaker 3: to at least get one love connection on this whole
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: thing that I feel like maybe, if nothing else, that's
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: the best part about these odds that we have gone
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: with from Farmers is maybe we get two thirds, maybe
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: we get all three, and it's a trifecta. I don't know,
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: but at the end of the day, I mean, one
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: out of three eight bad, right, So I'm pulling for
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: that to get me out of the gates exactly.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: Well.
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: Listeners, tell us about what you're loving about this show,
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: or even what you're not loving, and Bob and I'll
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: be back every single week bringing you Farmer Wants AWIF
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: season four recaps.
- 1:04:06Speaker 2: Thanks Bob, Wait, thank you so much. Producer Heather bye bye.
