- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome to All and basse.
- 0:01Speaker 2: I'm your host, Bookie Bets, and today we have a
- 0:03Speaker 2: twenty twenty five All Star Empowers first baseman and outfielder
- 0:08Speaker 2: Ryan or Her.
- 0:09Speaker 1: How you doing, brother, I'm doing good man. Thanks for
- 0:11Speaker 1: having me on. Thanks for coming on.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Yesterday you said you don't really do podcasts, so.
- 0:16Speaker 1: And yeah you came on this one. So thanks for
- 0:18Speaker 1: coming on. Bro, Mookie Best asked you to me on
- 0:21Speaker 1: this podcast. You can't say no.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Thank you, Bro, Thank you sir. All right, before we
- 0:25Speaker 2: get started, we play our first game. It's called make
- 0:27Speaker 2: the Call. I think the best is three out of five.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I want to say three out of five is the best.
- 0:33Speaker 2: So what happens is we're going to show a pitch
- 0:35Speaker 2: on here at ABS. First of all, before we get
- 0:38Speaker 2: Do you like the ABS?
- 0:40Speaker 1: Yeah? I do. I like the challenge system. Yeah.
- 0:42Speaker 2: I think the challenge system has been has been really good.
- 0:45Speaker 2: It keeps things fair. I mean, I know, I got
- 0:48Speaker 2: some guys are like, you know, it misses by a
- 0:51Speaker 2: tenth of an injury, hits by a tenth bench.
- 0:53Speaker 1: But I think that's the beauty of.
- 0:54Speaker 3: It, right, And I liked that there's like I think
- 0:57Speaker 3: two challenges is perfect, yeah, because if it is less,
- 1:00Speaker 3: you know, it would be you don't want to use
- 1:02Speaker 3: one and you're done.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Yep, it can't be unlimited. So I think, yeah, I
- 1:05Speaker 1: think it's perfect. Yeah. All right, so you made the call,
- 1:09Speaker 1: and if you miss, I'm a context in. No, you
- 1:12Speaker 1: don't have a good unlocked.
- 1:13Speaker 2: If you miss, you got to answer one of these
- 1:16Speaker 2: questions over here, right, all right.
- 1:19Speaker 1: That's a ball a ball, Okay, I think it's down. No,
- 1:26Speaker 1: that was a quick trigger too. You say you didn't
- 1:28Speaker 1: have your context in, so I mean I was.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Just going off an initial reaction. Let's see, what is
- 1:35Speaker 3: the worst pitch you've ever swung at?
- 1:37Speaker 1: Okay? Yeah, okay, So.
- 1:41Speaker 3: I want to say it was like twenty twenty one.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Maybe I swung at the I struck out on the
- 1:46Speaker 3: highest pitch of the season for anyone to strike out.
- 1:51Speaker 1: What happened? It was swinging.
- 1:52Speaker 3: It was Tyler Wells in when I was with Kansas
- 1:56Speaker 3: City in Baltimore. Tyler Wells throws like a really like hoppy,
- 2:01Speaker 3: forcing fastball and then a big curveball at the time,
- 2:03Speaker 3: and I got to two strikes, you know, and I
- 2:06Speaker 3: saw it startway up there, and I was like man,
- 2:08Speaker 3: that's got to be the curveball.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Not the curveball. And it was you saw my head
- 2:13Speaker 1: when you swung at it where you're like, oh my gosh.
- 2:15Speaker 3: I was just laughing because I was like, well, that's
- 2:18Speaker 3: gonna look so bad on camera.
- 2:20Speaker 1: You know. All right, let's go to pitch two. Pitch two,
- 2:25Speaker 1: that's a strike. Yep. I was incorrect on that one.
- 2:29Speaker 1: You were incorrect. How many challenges have you had have
- 2:31Speaker 1: you done this year? Probably five? Four or five? And
- 2:35Speaker 1: how is your success right?
- 2:36Speaker 3: I think it's been pretty good. I think it's like
- 2:39Speaker 3: I'm like three for five maybe, Oh that's pretty good.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's pretty I feel like I've I feel like
- 2:43Speaker 2: a three for five, I mean, fifty percent is probably
- 2:46Speaker 2: pretty average.
- 2:48Speaker 3: I burned, like I feel bad when I burned them
- 2:51Speaker 3: earn Yeah, you know, first inning.
- 2:53Speaker 1: That doesn't feel good.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I feel like I would never challenge unless it's like egregious.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yeah, not challenge. No.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I try to leave it for the catchers because they,
- 3:04Speaker 2: you know, are pitching the pitching staff.
- 3:06Speaker 1: I gotta leave one for Ouna. You know, I was
- 3:09Speaker 1: gonna burn one. How's his success rate? Is he good?
- 3:14Speaker 1: I don't know. We'll check the table. Okay, let's go
- 3:18Speaker 1: pitch three. One for two. By the way, m hm oh,
- 3:23Speaker 1: that's got to be down. It's got to be got
- 3:25Speaker 1: to be down. Carson Kelly is pretty good, but m
- 3:29Speaker 1: two for three. I'll take it.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Two for three, okay, Okay, you got two more pitches
- 3:36Speaker 2: to break the record for best. Make the call, guy,
- 3:40Speaker 2: I gotta go two for two the next you need
- 3:42Speaker 2: to go two for two yet, because the best is
- 3:44Speaker 2: three for five.
- 3:46Speaker 1: All right, Pitch four, Mmm, I think that's in. Actually,
- 3:54Speaker 1: with that angle, you can't change it. You can't change it,
- 3:58Speaker 1: all right, that's in it. That's lucky. That's probably lucky.
- 4:04Speaker 1: It's all right, it's okay. We go. Logan a hoppy heat.
- 4:09Speaker 1: He's pretty good at the challenge system too. Let's see.
- 4:13Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh, I don't know on that one. I'm
- 4:16Speaker 3: gonna say strike. I think that's a strike.
- 4:21Speaker 1: My gosh, No, you tied it, bro, all right, I'll
- 4:25Speaker 1: tell you three for five. It seems like that's the
- 4:27Speaker 1: uh see what we got here? The norm around here.
- 4:30Speaker 1: You've been traded before. What's the craziest trade story you've
- 4:33Speaker 1: ever heard? You know?
- 4:37Speaker 3: Maybe I think those trades that when a guy's playing
- 4:39Speaker 3: the team he gets traded to, you know, he gets
- 4:42Speaker 3: tests to walk over across the stadium like that would
- 4:44Speaker 3: be That would be wild.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I feel like that would be really awkward. That would
- 4:47Speaker 1: be weird. You know.
- 4:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I've been traded in season before at the deadline,
- 4:53Speaker 3: so like everybody knows it's coming and you show up
- 4:55Speaker 3: and they're kind of like waiting for you. But like
- 4:58Speaker 3: a random trade in the middle of the season where
- 5:00Speaker 3: you go from one dug out to the other, I
- 5:02Speaker 3: think would be the weirdest.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I think that would be.
- 5:04Speaker 3: I remember Bennie when Ben and Tenny got traded from
- 5:07Speaker 3: Kansas City to New York.
- 5:08Speaker 1: We were in New York and that was he.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Was like he he just walked over and he was like, dude,
- 5:13Speaker 3: this is so weird.
- 5:16Speaker 2: How we're going to talk about that? But that's gonna
- 5:18Speaker 2: be later, all right. So I want to get get
- 5:19Speaker 2: it started into it. Pirates obviously been playing great. You
- 5:24Speaker 2: guys have a really young team as well. How's the
- 5:27Speaker 2: vibe everything? Good man, The ViBe's been great.
- 5:31Speaker 3: You know, like you said, we got a young team
- 5:34Speaker 3: and everybody, you know, media, everybody wants to talk about
- 5:38Speaker 3: like all the last few years and now it's been
- 5:40Speaker 3: rough and all this stuff, but man, like the ViBe's
- 5:42Speaker 3: been awesome.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Ever since you came over. Do you feel like you're
- 5:45Speaker 1: a vet? I do?
- 5:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I do. I mean, I'm I'm the
- 5:50Speaker 3: second oldest guy on the team, which is.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Crazy, which is crazy, and you're thirty two.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I'm thirty two. Yeah, I'll be thirty three in July.
- 5:56Speaker 3: I don't feel like that old.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I mean it's not. That's just where the game is now.
- 6:02Speaker 2: And like I said, you got you guys got so
- 6:05Speaker 2: many young guys coming up contributing each and every day.
- 6:09Speaker 2: What do you What are you tell them? What are
- 6:10Speaker 2: you talk to him about? Do they did they come
- 6:12Speaker 2: to you for questions or help or whatever?
- 6:15Speaker 3: No, they do, I mean they you know, it's all
- 6:18Speaker 3: kinds of stuff. But man, just uh, it's supposed to
- 6:24Speaker 3: be fun. Yeah, that's kind of the main thing that
- 6:26Speaker 3: I tell them. Like, you know, I I think as
- 6:28Speaker 3: a young player, like you want to you want to
- 6:31Speaker 3: be a people pleaser, you know, like you want the
- 6:33Speaker 3: front office, the coaching staff, the fans, like you want
- 6:35Speaker 3: everyone to love you, and you want to look good
- 6:37Speaker 3: and like all this stuff. And I'm like, man, it's
- 6:39Speaker 3: gonna look good, it's gonna be right, and you're gonna
- 6:42Speaker 3: play the best when.
- 6:43Speaker 1: You're having fun, right, Yeah, I agree, And it took
- 6:46Speaker 1: me a long time to figure that out. Yeah.
- 6:47Speaker 2: You know, well, how does this compare to when you
- 6:50Speaker 2: were with the Orioles, you had a bunch of young guys.
- 6:52Speaker 2: How does this compare to to that? This team compared
- 6:55Speaker 2: to that, I.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Would say it's similar.
- 6:56Speaker 3: You know, it's a lot of young guys that are
- 6:58Speaker 3: like first round picks that are like, you know, all
- 7:01Speaker 3: this like super heralda.
- 7:02Speaker 1: They're supposed to be so.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Good, and then they get to the big leagues and
- 7:04Speaker 3: it's you know, they realize how hard it is. Yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 3: and it's and also it's every day, like you're getting
- 7:10Speaker 3: the every day dog on the mound every day, yeah,
- 7:13Speaker 3: and the best defenders in the world every day and
- 7:14Speaker 3: all this stuff. So it's similar. I would say, like
- 7:18Speaker 3: the talent is crazy. These guys, you know, they're you know,
- 7:23Speaker 3: Grip Connor is a great example. I mean he's twenty
- 7:25Speaker 3: years old. Man, he hits the ball one hundred and
- 7:27Speaker 3: fifteen miles an hour, He runs like thirty feet percent,
- 7:31Speaker 3: you know what. All of his tools are just crazy.
- 7:33Speaker 3: So it's like I'm trying to get in it. I'm like, man,
- 7:35Speaker 3: you are so good. Yeah if if anything, like just
- 7:39Speaker 3: like slow it down a little bit, you know, let
- 7:41Speaker 3: it come to you, and.
- 7:42Speaker 1: Then you got every picture throwing a hundred come. I mean,
- 7:45Speaker 1: that's unreal.
- 7:46Speaker 3: That is the most insane difference I've seen in the
- 7:48Speaker 3: game over the last few years. Like, you know, the
- 7:52Speaker 3: game could be ten to nothing in the mop up guy, mop.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Up guy, he's throwing a hundred. Yeah, he's throwing a hundred.
- 7:57Speaker 2: So I mean, I don't even know how you get
- 7:59Speaker 2: back they're throwing a hundred, But I mean it is
- 8:01Speaker 2: what it is.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:02Speaker 2: So you've gotten to play in some beautiful parks as well,
- 8:05Speaker 2: with the Kansas City, Baltimore and San Diego and P
- 8:12Speaker 2: and C. Now which which not team, but of the
- 8:17Speaker 2: of those ballparks would be your favorite one, Well.
- 8:20Speaker 1: It's not Kansas City. Well it's beautiful, yeah, but it's
- 8:25Speaker 1: defencing now.
- 8:26Speaker 2: So yeah, I flew out to the track one too
- 8:28Speaker 2: many times. Okay, kat the city is out.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Man.
- 8:33Speaker 3: That's a hard one because those other three, you know, Camden, Yeah,
- 8:38Speaker 3: San Diego, Petco, Peco and P and CRE are just
- 8:41Speaker 3: like top five. Probably for a lot of people. I
- 8:44Speaker 3: would say probably Peco.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Peco.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I actually really love playing in Peco, and I
- 8:50Speaker 2: love P and C as well.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Same. Yes, that's not taking anything away that No, No,
- 8:54Speaker 1: of course PC.
- 8:55Speaker 2: But Peco is like, it's just a beautiful stadium, bro,
- 8:59Speaker 2: it's a beautiful state.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Is like the fans, it's like the greenest grass I've
- 9:05Speaker 1: ever seen. You know, it's just a well, there's perfect
- 9:09Speaker 1: every day stage.
- 9:11Speaker 3: There's like thirty more thousand people behind right center and
- 9:13Speaker 3: the gall It's just a great atmosphere.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Man, have you ever been a part of a moment
- 9:19Speaker 2: kind of like this, Johnny you remember in Johnny Kuito
- 9:21Speaker 2: in twenty thirteen or the crowd was screaming his name.
- 9:25Speaker 1: We got it, we got it pulled up as well.
- 9:28Speaker 1: That's cool.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Well this is a great I mean in at the
- 9:38Speaker 2: rate you guys are going, this is coming.
- 9:40Speaker 3: This is the goal right here, this is the atmosphere
- 9:43Speaker 3: we want to play in. I mean, there's nothing like
- 9:46Speaker 3: playoff baseball.
- 9:47Speaker 1: There's nothing like playoff baseball. Oh well we left seven
- 9:53Speaker 1: field factic. That's not.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Moments like that, Like what's have you been a part
- 10:01Speaker 2: of any moments like that in San Diego.
- 10:03Speaker 1: I mean, you had to you're you're.
- 10:05Speaker 3: I mean I've had some big homers, some big moments,
- 10:09Speaker 3: but nothing nothing.
- 10:10Speaker 1: To that extent. You know, I've only hit singles in
- 10:13Speaker 1: the playoffs. What about the moments for other people or whatever?
- 10:17Speaker 3: Like I hit the ball in twenty four in the
- 10:19Speaker 3: playoffs that if it wasn't for the Great Wall of
- 10:21Speaker 3: Baltimore that year would have been a home Oh.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I think about that and the Great Wall of Baltimore.
- 10:27Speaker 1: That was definitely the Great Wall of Baltimore. That. Uh,
- 10:31Speaker 1: that completely changed that field?
- 10:33Speaker 3: Man?
- 10:33Speaker 1: Did they completely changed it? Did they ever say why
- 10:35Speaker 1: they did that?
- 10:36Speaker 3: Apparently because you know, the Yankees got massive right handed hitters,
- 10:41Speaker 3: so they tried to do That's like what everyone kind
- 10:43Speaker 3: of thoughts.
- 10:43Speaker 1: What they were saying. I mean, well, hey, look listen,
- 10:47Speaker 1: it didn't work. Yeah it didn't. It kind of hurt everybody,
- 10:51Speaker 1: but it is what it is. I do want to
- 10:55Speaker 1: find out. You were the team DJ correct? How did
- 10:58Speaker 1: that come about? On what team? Oh? You're a team
- 11:02Speaker 1: DJ for multiple teams? I was.
- 11:03Speaker 3: I was DJ for Baltimore, for Baltimore okay in uh here, Okay, so.
- 11:08Speaker 1: You're a team currently the team DJ for here.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I'll pass it, you know, pass the
- 11:13Speaker 3: ox a little bit. But for the most part.
- 11:14Speaker 1: How did they come about? Though? You just do? You
- 11:17Speaker 1: just claim it? Like hey, okay? Uh.
- 11:21Speaker 3: In Baltimore it was Bratish, I believe, and then Bradish
- 11:27Speaker 3: went down and then we needed somebody, so you stepped up.
- 11:31Speaker 1: I stepped up. That's a lot of responsibility, it is. People.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Don't you can't watch videos on your phone? No, no,
- 11:37Speaker 2: you can't. Yes, you can't do anything but play music, right, Okay,
- 11:42Speaker 2: So what what's your how do you how do you
- 11:45Speaker 2: do with playing you know, different ethnicity all this other
- 11:50Speaker 2: stuff like what do you do? You just download different
- 11:52Speaker 2: playlist or what do you Well?
- 11:53Speaker 3: So I got the bus Bangers playlist, which is my
- 11:56Speaker 3: own that's copy readed.
- 11:57Speaker 2: Okay, but uh and is that Spotify, Apple Music, Spotify Spotify?
- 12:02Speaker 3: And I just try to like make everybody happy, you know,
- 12:06Speaker 3: so I spread it out.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Is it like research at night as far as like
- 12:10Speaker 2: downloading other songs or okay?
- 12:12Speaker 3: At this point, I mean, I got a playlist that's
- 12:14Speaker 3: been cooking for like three years now, so I just
- 12:17Speaker 3: go to the very bottom where they like offer suggestions
- 12:20Speaker 3: and I like that. I like that, but I mean
- 12:23Speaker 3: I think you just you know, And the other thing
- 12:25Speaker 3: is you got to keep them guessing. Oh like sharp turns.
- 12:28Speaker 3: We're going like drake to contry to salsa to you
- 12:34Speaker 3: know whatever, just keeping gas.
- 12:36Speaker 1: So if you were going in the World Series Game
- 12:39Speaker 1: one right now, okay.
- 12:42Speaker 2: What five songs would be the first five that you
- 12:45Speaker 2: play to get the boys going?
- 12:47Speaker 1: That's such a hard question.
- 12:48Speaker 3: All right, three songs, all right, three like just good bangers, bangers,
- 12:53Speaker 3: these are going to get the boys going.
- 12:55Speaker 1: All right, we're gonna go. I have to say DMX
- 12:57Speaker 1: because I like anything DMX, just some sort of DMX,
- 13:01Speaker 1: some sort of DMX, yeah, because I think that just
- 13:03Speaker 1: gets you hyped.
- 13:04Speaker 2: Okay, you know, so we've got DMX probably some like
- 13:08Speaker 2: some sort of e d M like guys moving.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I don't know, there's something with some energy. I mean,
- 13:15Speaker 1: we're getting ready for the World Series. So it's got
- 13:17Speaker 1: to be upbeat.
- 13:18Speaker 3: It's got to be something upbeat and then like a
- 13:20Speaker 3: classic sing along, like let's all sing.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Together and like unified before we go out on point?
- 13:27Speaker 1: Do you have one of those that's a classics sing
- 13:29Speaker 1: along that that's all sing along.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, mamas, don't let your babies grow up
- 13:36Speaker 3: to be cowboys, you.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Know, have no, I wouldn't know.
- 13:39Speaker 3: That's that's a country song that if you heard it
- 13:41Speaker 3: you would sing along because.
- 13:42Speaker 1: You just okay, so that's you would play those three songs.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Is just a random group. It is super random. But
- 13:49Speaker 1: that's the that's the unique.
- 13:50Speaker 3: But the thought behind it was like, all right, some
- 13:53Speaker 3: like some DMX, like some you know, like maybe some
- 13:57Speaker 3: d M and then maybe like something that we can
- 14:00Speaker 3: all sing.
- 14:00Speaker 1: And then you bring the boys together and then you
- 14:03Speaker 1: go out on there, let's go play.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Okay, speaking of of of going out on the field
- 14:10Speaker 2: and come camaraderie and all these type of things. I know, Uh,
- 14:14Speaker 2: Schemes bought Connor Griffin a bounce house for his birthday.
- 14:20Speaker 1: What was that for? Why did he do that? So
- 14:24Speaker 1: that's hilarious fun It is.
- 14:25Speaker 3: Funny, and I think it's just you know, because he's
- 14:27Speaker 3: he's so young, and he's like, I.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Mean, that's kind of everybody in the.
- 14:32Speaker 3: That is such a Paul skiings like dry sense of humor.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I just show up and random randomly bottom like a.
- 14:39Speaker 2: And he that he he uh, randomly showed up to
- 14:43Speaker 2: a literallygue.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Yeah that was so cool that that's super dope. Yeah
- 14:47Speaker 1: what did he say? Did he just he just pulled
- 14:49Speaker 1: up or was he was just finished feeling generous that day.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Or he just saw him and just rolled up on
- 14:54Speaker 3: off the man. And I think if it were up
- 14:56Speaker 3: to him, like nobody would have found out about.
- 14:57Speaker 1: It, Yeah, which I think is the cod Is he
- 14:59Speaker 1: going to nobody's.
- 15:00Speaker 3: In the right exactly, everybody's you know, the phones out
- 15:03Speaker 3: and everything. But yeah, he uh, you know, I think
- 15:06Speaker 3: he wanted to be low key, which you know, what's like,
- 15:08Speaker 3: I've driven by Little League practice before and I've been like, man,
- 15:12Speaker 3: it might be fun.
- 15:12Speaker 1: To go out there, just like I feel like he would.
- 15:14Speaker 1: It would be so fun. Yeah, But I'm with him, like,
- 15:17Speaker 1: I don't.
- 15:18Speaker 2: I don't want to do it for all the extra
- 15:20Speaker 2: I want to do it just to hang out with
- 15:22Speaker 2: the kids and you know, kind of give back because
- 15:24Speaker 2: we were a kid that day.
- 15:25Speaker 1: It's like the purest form of baseball. Man, it's like,
- 15:28Speaker 1: you know, just fun. You don't even know a difference.
- 15:30Speaker 1: It's not a job. There's not a worry in the world,
- 15:32Speaker 1: like just playing ball.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Okay, so I do want to talk about y'all's celebrations.
- 15:37Speaker 2: You have the well the cone. Oh yeah, what is
- 15:41Speaker 2: what is the I've seen the cone? What does How
- 15:43Speaker 2: did that originate?
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 15:45Speaker 3: So in spring trading fanatics made a shirt that said
- 15:51Speaker 3: hoist the cone, Hoist the cone.
- 15:53Speaker 1: And I think it was supposed to be hoist the colors.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Hoist the colors, right, likening colors. That's that's that was.
- 16:02Speaker 3: That's what like the rumor was like it was supposed
- 16:06Speaker 3: to be like a pirates like like whatever whatever, and
- 16:10Speaker 3: they misprinted it or they hoist the cone. So they
- 16:14Speaker 3: printed his T shirt that said hoist the cone, and
- 16:17Speaker 3: we were like what you know. So then there was
- 16:20Speaker 3: like some you know jokes in spring training like oh,
- 16:23Speaker 3: we should get a traffic cone, like you know, just
- 16:25Speaker 3: and it kind of went away, like and nobody really
- 16:28Speaker 3: talked about it. And then our on our second series
- 16:31Speaker 3: of the year in Cincinnati, Jake Mangham went and found
- 16:35Speaker 3: a traffic cone, brought on the dog.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Oh and here we go.
- 16:39Speaker 2: He brought a traffic hone he had there's no way
- 16:42Speaker 2: he picked it up. He had to take that from
- 16:44Speaker 2: the street.
- 16:44Speaker 1: No, he took it.
- 16:45Speaker 3: He took it from somewhere in the stadium, like he went,
- 16:48Speaker 3: he went and found a stadium worker and was like, listen,
- 16:51Speaker 3: I need a traffic cone. The guy was like, all right,
- 16:53Speaker 3: let's go get on. Got a traffic cone. And then
- 16:55Speaker 3: you have the the welding hood or whatever.
- 16:58Speaker 2: I'm assuming that's because we're in Pittsburgh, right, A lot
- 17:01Speaker 2: of Okay, so you guys got a couple different that one.
- 17:04Speaker 2: That one was more like premeditated.
- 17:05Speaker 3: That one was more like, you know, hey, I mean
- 17:07Speaker 3: everybody has their like gimmick now, you know, like their
- 17:10Speaker 3: home run chain or jacket or in Baltimore we had
- 17:13Speaker 3: the hydration station whatever. So you know, we were just
- 17:18Speaker 3: kind of brainstorming, like what we're going to do this year,
- 17:20Speaker 3: and then Steel City man like and that's you know
- 17:23Speaker 3: what's cool about that welder's mask is that's like a legit,
- 17:26Speaker 3: like a guy used that for like forty years.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Or like something crazy. Somebody gave him. That's that We
- 17:31Speaker 1: got that from Steel Mill. Like, That's that's why it
- 17:35Speaker 1: looks like that.
- 17:35Speaker 3: It's not you know, it's not painted up pretty with
- 17:39Speaker 3: like a P on the front.
- 17:40Speaker 1: That's what I thought.
- 17:41Speaker 2: I thought, well, I thought it was like somebody just
- 17:43Speaker 2: gave it or whatever.
- 17:46Speaker 1: You just went and bought it. But no, that's legit.
- 17:48Speaker 1: They sent us that. That's super dope. Yeah that's cool.
- 17:52Speaker 2: And then you got I've seen I see in yesterday.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I saw a lot of people probably like two or
- 17:56Speaker 2: three cones throughout the stadium to after home runs, which
- 18:01Speaker 2: I think is pretty deep.
- 18:02Speaker 1: How do you like the city of Pittsburgh?
- 18:04Speaker 3: Is it?
- 18:04Speaker 1: Is it? You know?
- 18:05Speaker 2: Do you get to hang out much or do you
- 18:06Speaker 2: just kind of go home to the field?
- 18:08Speaker 1: You know how it is?
- 18:09Speaker 3: I pretty much go home and then go to the field.
- 18:11Speaker 3: I got a baby at home, So how is the baby?
- 18:14Speaker 3: It should be six months here?
- 18:16Speaker 1: Six months and that's your only one.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Yeah, so we're just getting we're just figured it out. Yeah,
- 18:21Speaker 3: haven't haven't been out a whole lot. But you know,
- 18:23Speaker 3: we went to the zoo the other day. Like the
- 18:26Speaker 3: zoo was cool.
- 18:28Speaker 1: But I like the city.
- 18:29Speaker 3: Man. The neighborhood I'm staying in is beautiful. It's like
- 18:32Speaker 3: one thing about this area that's cool. It's like the
- 18:34Speaker 3: hills and the grass and like the scenery is actually
- 18:38Speaker 3: like really beautiful.
- 18:39Speaker 1: It is a beautiful city.
- 18:40Speaker 2: And then obviously you're adjusting to the boys and that's
- 18:43Speaker 2: that's been awesome. How I know this is your what Royals.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Then you went to the Orioles Padres. How is adjusting
- 18:51Speaker 2: to this team different than those?
- 18:54Speaker 1: It was similar?
- 18:55Speaker 3: You know, it was really easy, honestly, Like I think
- 18:58Speaker 3: when you have a spring training with the group of guys,
- 19:00Speaker 3: that makes you so much easier. Like, you know, the
- 19:03Speaker 3: Padres were really welcoming to me, like they were great,
- 19:05Speaker 3: and I enjoyed my time there, But I will say
- 19:07Speaker 3: it's hard to join like a group that's been grinding
- 19:11Speaker 3: together all year. Yeah, you know, they made it really easy,
- 19:13Speaker 3: but I could see like it could be hard because
- 19:15Speaker 3: you're walking into like, you know, they've been together all year,
- 19:18Speaker 3: so you're the new guy.
- 19:20Speaker 1: You're the inside jokes and all the stuff. You're just yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 19:23Speaker 1: you just fake laughing.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Like what And then you know, going when you did
- 19:27Speaker 2: join the Padres, you were right in the middle of playoffs.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Did that make that tougher? That was awesome?
- 19:34Speaker 3: I enjoyed that, yeah, because you know, like we had
- 19:38Speaker 3: expectations in Baltimore last year going into the season and
- 19:40Speaker 3: then it just we just didn't play well and then
- 19:43Speaker 3: we were out of it. And then it was like
- 19:44Speaker 3: a month of just like, man, I'm just it's all
- 19:47Speaker 3: like I'm getting traded.
- 19:49Speaker 1: I know, I'm getting traded. That's all I felt like
- 19:50Speaker 1: I heard all day.
- 19:51Speaker 3: It was like and then to go to a place
- 19:54Speaker 3: that was like in the thick of it with a
- 19:55Speaker 3: good team and like I could just kind of like
- 19:58Speaker 3: slide in the middle there just.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Be like a guy.
- 20:01Speaker 3: I don't feel like I had to I don't know,
- 20:03Speaker 3: like talk on the bus or like do anything. And
- 20:05Speaker 3: I was like, man, this is awesome. And playing you
- 20:08Speaker 3: guys in some big series. Man, like that's that was
- 20:11Speaker 3: like big time baseball.
- 20:12Speaker 1: What it want to be a part of.
- 20:13Speaker 2: You know, do you feel like that's I mean, obviously
- 20:16Speaker 2: there's a lot of great rivalry, so I'm not trying
- 20:18Speaker 2: to put us ahead of anybody. Do you feel like
- 20:21Speaker 2: that's the best rivalry or would you say, like the
- 20:26Speaker 2: Boston Yankees.
- 20:27Speaker 3: I mean, I think that Dodgers Padres is probably a
- 20:32Speaker 3: better rivalry right now than you know, historically Yankees, Red
- 20:36Speaker 3: Sox obviously, sure, but like where we're at right now, yeah,
- 20:40Speaker 3: you know, yeah, because those are the two like heavyweights,
- 20:44Speaker 3: you know, definitely in the West and pretty much in
- 20:46Speaker 3: the you know, well, I don't know.
- 20:47Speaker 1: This year, there's a lot of good teams in there.
- 20:49Speaker 1: There's a lot of really good teams.
- 20:50Speaker 2: I mean, you guys have four four teams above five hundred,
- 20:54Speaker 2: so you guys are I mean it may not necessarily
- 20:57Speaker 2: be quote unquote a rivalry, but every game is you know,
- 21:01Speaker 2: kind of matters.
- 21:02Speaker 1: It matters.
- 21:03Speaker 3: But you know, those games last year at the end
- 21:04Speaker 3: of the season Dodgers Padres were intense, though, like for sure.
- 21:07Speaker 1: And it's fun. It was fun.
- 21:09Speaker 2: It's fun, but it's really hard because every out matters.
- 21:12Speaker 2: You know, you know, you're playing it against a good team.
- 21:14Speaker 1: It's like mentally exhausted. Yeah, say after after the game,
- 21:18Speaker 1: you're more mentally after the game. I'm like, yeah, yeah,
- 21:21Speaker 1: mentally Okay.
- 21:24Speaker 2: So you you like to say you're kind of a
- 21:28Speaker 2: late bloomer.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Why why do you say that? Yeah, I mean I
- 21:31Speaker 1: think definitely my baseball career.
- 21:34Speaker 2: Okay, So growing up. Let's let's go, let's let's do
- 21:36Speaker 2: their timeline growing up? Did you play only baseball? You
- 21:39Speaker 2: play football? You look like a football player.
- 21:41Speaker 3: See I played football in like probably up until I
- 21:45Speaker 3: got to high school and then we moved from Florida to.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Texas, playing football.
- 21:50Speaker 3: Yeah what Yeah, yeah, you would think they asked me
- 21:53Speaker 3: to play football, and I watched the practice, but you
- 21:58Speaker 3: didn't want to play.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I was like, nah, so the Texas football is that's
- 22:02Speaker 2: a different a different thing.
- 22:04Speaker 1: That's a that's a different analytic. I don't blame.
- 22:05Speaker 3: I was also like real skinny in high school. Okay,
- 22:08Speaker 3: I was like probably six two, same like height now,
- 22:12Speaker 3: but I was.
- 22:12Speaker 1: Like one hundred and thirty pounds. I was like real
- 22:14Speaker 1: skinny basketball. No, dude, so you only play baseball?
- 22:18Speaker 3: I would I was a kid in basketball that like
- 22:20Speaker 3: would like steal the ball, be on a fast break,
- 22:23Speaker 3: and then just like launch it off the back.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Can't make up. I could rebound like pretty good, but
- 22:31Speaker 1: more of a facilitator.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Okay, okay, so you only play baseball through high school
- 22:38Speaker 2: and you guy recruit.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I mean, what made you feel like you're a late
- 22:42Speaker 1: bloomer bro you got?
- 22:44Speaker 3: Yeah, so, like I would say, like my senior or
- 22:46Speaker 3: my junior year of high school, like I didn't even
- 22:49Speaker 3: play that much. Oh really, and then my senior year
- 22:52Speaker 3: I was an All American. Oh so there was like
- 22:54Speaker 3: a like a gross burt like uh, just a you know,
- 22:58Speaker 3: everything kind of changed and then you know how back
- 23:02Speaker 3: when we were coming up, it was like you got
- 23:04Speaker 3: recruited between your junior and senior year high school.
- 23:06Speaker 1: That was it, you know, and I got mono. I
- 23:09Speaker 1: didn't even played.
- 23:11Speaker 3: I played one tournament that summer and then didn't play
- 23:14Speaker 3: at all.
- 23:15Speaker 1: I got sick.
- 23:16Speaker 3: So then, uh, you know, I had one offer Sam
- 23:18Speaker 3: Houston State and they were like, hey, man, like you know,
- 23:22Speaker 3: we'll give you the scholarship whatever.
- 23:23Speaker 1: And then by the end of my.
- 23:24Speaker 3: Senior year, they were like, buddy, you're gonna play every day,
- 23:26Speaker 3: like and then it ended up it was a perfect storm.
- 23:29Speaker 1: Man.
- 23:29Speaker 3: I got to like right when I things started to click,
- 23:32Speaker 3: like I just had this great opportunity to play.
- 23:34Speaker 2: And and then so but I'm not hearing the late
- 23:37Speaker 2: bloomer part. What makes you think, yeah, bloomed late.
- 23:40Speaker 3: I mean everything was late, you know, like I didn't
- 23:42Speaker 3: I didn't have like I mean, I.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Picked like.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Puberty wise, I was late, you know, and got as
- 23:51Speaker 3: far as baseball goes, like I it took me a
- 23:54Speaker 3: while to like figure it out at the at the
- 23:56Speaker 3: big league level.
- 23:58Speaker 1: You know.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I struggled and in Kansas City for years and it took.
- 24:03Speaker 1: A lot time.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I mean I mean, I feel like when you came
- 24:07Speaker 2: it was like right in the middle of the game,
- 24:11Speaker 2: changing going from what I would say like regular baseball
- 24:17Speaker 2: with the guys throwing regular for seam slider or sinker
- 24:22Speaker 2: slider or whatever, to the game adjusting to now everybody
- 24:27Speaker 2: has three fastballs and they all throw one hundred. You know,
- 24:31Speaker 2: so it's kind of it. I feel like you came
- 24:33Speaker 2: up right in that, and so it's kind of hard
- 24:35Speaker 2: to figure out a league that's.
- 24:37Speaker 3: In the shift, man, Yeah, the shift was changed. I
- 24:40Speaker 3: couldn't figure out how to hit a ground ball the.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Shortstop for the life of me. I mean, you can't
- 24:44Speaker 1: bro nobody's.
- 24:45Speaker 3: Standing over there, and I'm like, how can I knock
- 24:47Speaker 3: get the ball over there?
- 24:49Speaker 1: It was probably hard.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I mean, like I said, you were facing guys throwing
- 24:53Speaker 2: ninety five to one hundred, Like you don't really have
- 24:55Speaker 2: time to try and like try and hit a ground
- 24:59Speaker 2: like it's hard enough just.
- 25:00Speaker 1: To hit it.
- 25:01Speaker 3: I mean, I could talk about pitching nowadays for a
- 25:03Speaker 3: long time because it is crazy. It's like three fastballs.
- 25:08Speaker 3: It's there are no guaranteed fastball counts, no left on
- 25:13Speaker 3: left change ups, like everything is different.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Stuff that you never even thought of the.
- 25:19Speaker 3: Rules of like you know, the big leagues the last
- 25:22Speaker 3: ten years, like the quiet like oh three, ah, you're
- 25:24Speaker 3: getting a heater, Like lefties don't throw change ups to
- 25:26Speaker 3: lefties like like things like that, like they don't exist anymore.
- 25:29Speaker 2: Like yesterday, yesterday Lao got to three to zero count
- 25:33Speaker 2: against Showhy and.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Back in the day, like three zero count, bases loaded,
- 25:40Speaker 1: two outs.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Oh I'm taking this like he's got to throw a strike, right,
- 25:45Speaker 2: But now Lao swinging Yeah, three tozerho, bam double.
- 25:48Speaker 1: That's your shot, that's your chance, because if.
- 25:51Speaker 2: You go three to one, you're not guaranteed to get
- 25:54Speaker 2: another fastball. No, you may really may not be guaranteed
- 25:57Speaker 2: to get a fastball three zero at that point.
- 25:59Speaker 1: No, I've seen three to zero sweepers.
- 26:01Speaker 2: I've said, yeah, and that's just a different game, man,
- 26:04Speaker 2: It's just a different game. So in twenty twenty three,
- 26:07Speaker 2: you were a part of the Orioles. They had went
- 26:11Speaker 2: through a little drought, a little playoff drought.
- 26:15Speaker 1: How was that? That was cool? Twenty three?
- 26:17Speaker 3: Yeah, so much fun. That team won one hundred one games.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Playoffs were brutal. We got you know, we ran into
- 26:24Speaker 3: a buzzsaw with the Rangers, but that year was awesome.
- 26:28Speaker 2: And then so now are you going to use what
- 26:31Speaker 2: you learned or what you went through there to kind
- 26:33Speaker 2: of help guide these boys?
- 26:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that's a plan. You know. I'm I'm
- 26:37Speaker 1: not like telling anybody.
- 26:39Speaker 3: What to do, but like if you have anything that
- 26:43Speaker 3: you're you know, if you have any questions like or whatever,
- 26:46Speaker 3: I'm here for everybody.
- 26:47Speaker 1: With there being so many young guys, is it is
- 26:53Speaker 1: it like more you stay out of the way or
- 26:56Speaker 1: you kind of feel not an obligation, but like we'll
- 27:02Speaker 1: just use obligation for lack of better terms to help
- 27:05Speaker 1: guide them.
- 27:06Speaker 3: Man, I think it's more like, you know, I talk
- 27:10Speaker 3: to everybody, like I want to talk to everybody, and
- 27:13Speaker 3: you know like just kind of like be myself, like
- 27:15Speaker 3: you know, try to you know, enjoy getting to everybody
- 27:19Speaker 3: in the relationships and stuff. But I also like don't
- 27:22Speaker 3: want to like be like telling barking out any kind
- 27:25Speaker 3: of like hey this is what it's like. You know,
- 27:28Speaker 3: this is going to be that guy that's just not me,
- 27:30Speaker 3: you know. But like man, sometimes it's it's more about
- 27:34Speaker 3: just like listening, you know, like being their form and
- 27:38Speaker 3: and if there's ever an opportunity to like be like, hey, listen,
- 27:41Speaker 3: I went through the same deal and like this is
- 27:43Speaker 3: like I wish I would have known this at the time.
- 27:47Speaker 3: So like I get a chance to do that. A lot,
- 27:51Speaker 3: you know, we got I've been I've seen a lot
- 27:54Speaker 3: of different angles of being I've been like the twenty
- 27:57Speaker 3: six guy on the roster, I've been the three hole hitter.
- 28:00Speaker 3: So like, I feel like I can relate to guys
- 28:03Speaker 3: and wherever they're at in their careers.
- 28:05Speaker 2: I feel like when I, you know, now starting to
- 28:07Speaker 2: see some of our young guys. We do have a
- 28:09Speaker 2: very veteran team, but starting to see some of the
- 28:12Speaker 2: young guys, especially in spring training. Because I have three kids,
- 28:16Speaker 2: and I'm not saying they are kids, but I kind
- 28:18Speaker 2: of view it that way. And I don't tell them
- 28:23Speaker 2: what to do because I.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Want them to live their own life and experience their
- 28:26Speaker 1: own experiences. But I've learned to like sometimes they do.
- 28:31Speaker 1: You do need a little guidance.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Sometimes you see something going on and it's like, you
- 28:35Speaker 2: know what, I'm just going to offer a suggestion. You
- 28:38Speaker 2: do whatever you want to do, because you're going to
- 28:41Speaker 2: do whatever you want to do anyway. But it seems
- 28:46Speaker 2: like when I started to do that and kind of
- 28:48Speaker 2: view it that way and just suggest things and just
- 28:51Speaker 2: kind of be there whenever they're there.
- 28:54Speaker 1: They have questions.
- 28:55Speaker 2: It seems like I've developed good relationships with the young
- 28:58Speaker 2: guys out.
- 29:00Speaker 1: There was a guy that through the first pitch the
- 29:02Speaker 1: other day. I don't even mister fanatic or something due
- 29:05Speaker 1: I saw him.
- 29:06Speaker 2: I don't even know who that guy is. And our
- 29:08Speaker 2: young guys like, dude, I know exactly who that is.
- 29:10Speaker 2: And I really like I'm old because I have no
- 29:13Speaker 2: idea who this guy is.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I had never heard of that guy. I've never heard
- 29:16Speaker 1: of him, you know. But I guess that means we're
- 29:19Speaker 1: we're out of touch. But I guess we're old. I
- 29:22Speaker 1: do have a question. You hit your first hit was
- 29:24Speaker 1: a homer.
- 29:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and then a couple of days ago there's a
- 29:29Speaker 2: Brayden Montgomery.
- 29:31Speaker 1: He hit a homer. Which one would you Which one
- 29:35Speaker 1: do you think is a better debut? A homer first
- 29:37Speaker 1: at bat or a walk off homer. I mean, I
- 29:40Speaker 1: don't think it's close. It's not a question.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I think a walk off homer for your first game,
- 29:45Speaker 2: Braden takes it. I mean, I feel like he what
- 29:48Speaker 2: a day, man, unbelievable, you know, like you're you're on
- 29:52Speaker 2: cloud nine for at least a week, yeah, minimum a week.
- 29:55Speaker 1: I like what he said after to well, I didn't
- 29:57Speaker 1: see what he said. I was. I watched quick pitch
- 29:58Speaker 1: in the morning. Okay, okay, I like what we said after.
- 30:00Speaker 3: He was like, you know, it's all downhill from now
- 30:02Speaker 3: from here, which I thought was cool.
- 30:06Speaker 1: It is. I mean, it's it's kind of true me,
- 30:09Speaker 1: but it is what it is. What it is. So
- 30:11Speaker 1: we do as you know.
- 30:13Speaker 2: I don't know if you know, but I do play
- 30:14Speaker 2: a lot of other sports, but we have one sport
- 30:16Speaker 2: in common. I play basketball and football kind of growing up,
- 30:20Speaker 2: so we don't have that in common. But golf, Yes,
- 30:23Speaker 2: you're a golf guy. I'm not very good, but I'm
- 30:25Speaker 2: not very good.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Okay.
- 30:26Speaker 2: So I'm an eight, oh your eight. Okay, that's that's
- 30:29Speaker 2: pretty good solid, I mean as good as you know.
- 30:32Speaker 2: But it's okay in the world world, it is a
- 30:37Speaker 2: good a good handicapped d play throughout the season or no.
- 30:40Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm playing in Denver on Thursday. Okay. So do
- 30:43Speaker 1: you like to play off days? Road off days? Mainly?
- 30:46Speaker 1: I play a decent amount throughout the year. It's just
- 30:48Speaker 1: kind of how I clear my head. It's the best, man.
- 30:51Speaker 1: I will go out. Usually I go.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Seven thirty eight in the morning, and then I'm usually
- 30:59Speaker 2: back home by twelve o'clock because when you go that
- 31:01Speaker 2: early morning, you can just zip around.
- 31:03Speaker 3: That's like the number one thing that I can't get
- 31:05Speaker 3: out of bed for golf, Like I'll get up early
- 31:08Speaker 3: in the winter, I'll play in the cold yep.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Like, yeah, it's something about it, man, I love it.
- 31:12Speaker 1: And once baseball is over, like it's kind of all
- 31:15Speaker 1: i'mna have is you know, because I'm not running up
- 31:18Speaker 1: and down the court anymore. Pickleball. Maybe have you ever
- 31:20Speaker 1: played You've played in like tournaments, right, a couple. I
- 31:24Speaker 1: have a club back home.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I've played in a couple of tournaments, and then I've
- 31:29Speaker 2: played in the MX before the AT and T tournament.
- 31:34Speaker 1: That's a different thing. Those are those are those are different.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Those are different that because it's not your it's not
- 31:42Speaker 2: what you're used to, you know, so to tee off
- 31:45Speaker 2: and then what you see on TV, like there's a
- 31:47Speaker 2: line and it's like dude, I will hit you, I
- 31:52Speaker 2: will shake it and I hit you.
- 31:54Speaker 1: But I mean you.
- 31:56Speaker 2: But I mean once you do it a couple of times,
- 31:59Speaker 2: you get used to it and then you can kind
- 32:00Speaker 2: of channel that competitive edge, you know.
- 32:03Speaker 3: And I think so like baseball, you know, you're hyped
- 32:07Speaker 3: up and you got anxiety or whatever, like.
- 32:11Speaker 1: You see it and you hit it, man, like you
- 32:12Speaker 1: just let it rip. Yeah. Yeah. And golf, I've been
- 32:15Speaker 1: standing over.
- 32:16Speaker 3: I played in wits Mayfield's tournament a few times, and
- 32:21Speaker 3: I'm not good enough to be playing where the every
- 32:24Speaker 3: shot matters and the you know, there's no gimmes and whatever.
- 32:27Speaker 3: It's a different type of you know, stress man, because
- 32:30Speaker 3: you're like, you know, like what if I shanked this
- 32:33Speaker 3: ball and then.
- 32:35Speaker 1: It's gonna be so embarrassing.
- 32:36Speaker 2: You can shank it and then you can just like
- 32:38Speaker 2: all right, you know what, I'm gonna go, y'all finish.
- 32:41Speaker 1: No, not in those tournament, Oh no, you gotta go. Tyler,
- 32:43Speaker 1: Clipper's gonna be waiting for you on the green, like, yeah,
- 32:46Speaker 1: I'm mad at you. Who's the best golfer on the Pirates.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I would say probably Mitch Keller. He's nasty. I think
- 32:53Speaker 1: he's good. Yeah, I haven't played with him yet.
- 32:54Speaker 3: We're playing Thursday, Bubba Chandler says he's a good golfer,
- 32:59Speaker 3: but he's also and like I've.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Heard that it's not real. No, so I'll give you
- 33:05Speaker 1: a report.
- 33:06Speaker 2: We uh we got will Smith Smithy, I think is
- 33:09Speaker 2: like he's like a plus one or something.
- 33:10Speaker 1: He's he's been playing golf, He's answer. Some of our
- 33:13Speaker 1: coaches are are zeros, and so that I when I
- 33:17Speaker 1: get to go on the road, I'm a one, okay,
- 33:20Speaker 1: and I get to go play with them, and it's
- 33:22Speaker 1: super competitive.
- 33:23Speaker 2: Like we we we we keep tally of who won,
- 33:27Speaker 2: and you know, everybody cares about it. So, I mean,
- 33:30Speaker 2: because we have a lot of people that play golf.
- 33:31Speaker 2: If you had a dream for some dream for some okay,
- 33:37Speaker 2: who would it be? It could be business, It's a
- 33:42Speaker 2: great question whatever.
- 33:43Speaker 1: For you know, I think I got to bring my dad, Pops,
- 33:48Speaker 1: you Pops, me and my dad. I mean Tiger Woods.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Tiger Woods. I mean, who wouldn't say tiger Woods?
- 33:54Speaker 3: Okay, and maybe maybe Aaron Rodgers stars.
- 34:00Speaker 2: So how did Aaron Rodgers make this this dream force?
- 34:04Speaker 3: Well, I grew I grew up. I'm a Packer fan,
- 34:07Speaker 3: Packer fan, so I grew up watching Aaron Rodgers play
- 34:10Speaker 3: Aaron Rodgers is on the mind a little bit because
- 34:12Speaker 3: he's signed with the Steelers here, so I've been kind
- 34:14Speaker 3: of following that a little bit. And then I know
- 34:15Speaker 3: he played in the the AT and.
- 34:17Speaker 1: T golf or whatever.
- 34:19Speaker 2: So okay, So if you still Roger, if you could
- 34:23Speaker 2: choose your your your caddy, who would be your caddy?
- 34:26Speaker 1: Oh that's a great question.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Maybe like a like a mental skills guy, like someone
- 34:31Speaker 3: who's gonna keep me dialed in, like Brian Kane or
- 34:34Speaker 3: something like that.
- 34:34Speaker 2: So mental skills guy, just keep you give me locked
- 34:37Speaker 2: so he doesn't have remember this fun stuff too.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Oh yeah, well he might golf. I don't know. I
- 34:43Speaker 1: saw I saw him a golf course one time.
- 34:45Speaker 2: So that that doesn't mean he knows how to read.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Okay, Well, what do you say, Brian? Who the mental
- 34:55Speaker 1: Brian Kane?
- 34:56Speaker 2: Brian Kane, I don't, I'm not I'm not in to
- 34:59Speaker 2: I'm not in touch with But Brian, you're the caddy.
- 35:02Speaker 1: That's a random shot up. Yeah, I mean, hey, he'll
- 35:05Speaker 1: probably na it's your guy.
- 35:07Speaker 2: I mean, okay, So let's I want to build. There's
- 35:12Speaker 2: a game that's online and started with basketball. Well we're
- 35:17Speaker 2: gonna do with baseball.
- 35:18Speaker 1: We're gonna build one hundred and sixty two and oh
- 35:20Speaker 1: team okay, all right, so we have to spin the
- 35:24Speaker 1: wheel and I think you choose. Uh do you do you?
- 35:29Speaker 1: Are you a baseball nerd or no? Yes? Okay, So
- 35:32Speaker 1: you'll have to choose who your team is.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Okay, So I got to pick Texas rand do you
- 35:38Speaker 2: need you don't need your glasses or anything.
- 35:40Speaker 1: I'm good. Okay. Oh these are guys that have played Yeah, anybody,
- 35:44Speaker 1: anybody one hundred and sixty two and oh.
- 35:47Speaker 3: So I'm just picking one player, one player out of
- 35:50Speaker 3: this list. I mean I'm taking Prince Fielder.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Prince Fielder, yeah, Prince Fielder first base or DH DH
- 35:57Speaker 1: DH okay. The California Angels. Oh this is nineteen nineties, okay,
- 36:05Speaker 1: I mean Tim Salmon, Tim Salmon out and right anahi,
- 36:12Speaker 1: I mean Angels.
- 36:15Speaker 3: Oh man, I want to pick Mo Vaughn, but I
- 36:20Speaker 3: already got a d H.
- 36:23Speaker 1: All right, I'll take I'll take X nine at second base.
- 36:31Speaker 1: The Giants, Oh gosh, Barry Bonds, come on Tampa. Oh,
- 36:41Speaker 1: this is the twenty twenties.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, I mean I gotta take Brandon lu but
- 36:44Speaker 3: I already got a second baseman, Can I make him
- 36:46Speaker 3: play third? No?
- 36:49Speaker 1: First base is only though?
- 36:52Speaker 3: All right, never mind, Sorry, you ain't making the cut,
- 36:57Speaker 3: all right, I'll take Kevin Arrow at third.
- 37:03Speaker 1: I mean Marlo's twenty twenty. Mmmm? What do I need?
- 37:08Speaker 3: I need a shortstop, a centerfielder, catcher in a first
- 37:10Speaker 3: base I will take I'll take Stours. Can Stowers play center?
- 37:29Speaker 1: Yeah? Stowers and center? Okay? Since he reads Christopher Negron,
- 37:35Speaker 1: did I see he's our bedg coach. I'll take Oseglasias?
- 37:43Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, oh short stop? Okay, that's purely for vibes,
- 37:47Speaker 1: purely Yeah, great vibe guy. Yeahs a great, great player. Great.

- 38:05Speaker 3: legend and definitely YACHTI.
- 38:09Speaker 2: I thought it's a pretty good squad. It's a good squad.
- 38:11Speaker 2: One hundred and thirty eight and twenty four. That's that's you, guys.
- 38:14Speaker 2: That's our projection.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I feel like I ain't mine. That's great.
- 38:18Speaker 1: I'm taking that. Yeah, one hundred and thirty eight games
- 38:21Speaker 1: that's let me look at this team. That's an interesting team,
- 38:27Speaker 1: that's for sure. But yeah, I like it. Okay.
- 38:31Speaker 2: And before we leave, before we wrap up, I do
- 38:35Speaker 2: a food review, and so we got it's called a
- 38:41Speaker 2: Bourriqua hot dog from PNC Park. I've had cheese curds.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Gave those a six. Korean hot dog gave that a seven.
- 38:54Speaker 2: So now we're going to go with another hot dog?
- 38:59Speaker 1: All right? Got uh? All right? Are those fries on
- 39:05Speaker 1: the on the hot dog? The stick fries? You remember
- 39:08Speaker 1: in school we used to get those? You want to
- 39:10Speaker 1: try it? No? Really? Yeah, you're you You're not a
- 39:14Speaker 1: mustard disclosure. I cannot stand mustard. You don't like mustard?
- 39:17Speaker 1: Hate it? Why don't you like mustard? I mean I
- 39:21Speaker 1: had a bad experience as a kid with mustard.
- 39:24Speaker 2: With mustard, and so what what what bad could possibly
- 39:28Speaker 2: happen with mustard?
- 39:30Speaker 1: You know?
- 39:30Speaker 3: I thought I was having like it was like little
- 39:33Speaker 3: burger sliders, and I thought it was just like meat
- 39:35Speaker 3: and cheese. But in my kid brain, but it was
- 39:38Speaker 3: like meat and mustard. But the yellow I thought was
- 39:41Speaker 3: like American cheese. So I took like this huge bite
- 39:43Speaker 3: expecting a plane burger, and it was mustard.
- 39:48Speaker 1: Up and it was terrible. Oh so you haven't even
- 39:51Speaker 1: like given them the second chance. I did.
- 39:53Speaker 3: I tried it again when I was older, and I
- 39:54Speaker 3: was I was like, I still hate it.
- 39:56Speaker 1: It just it just traumatized you.
- 39:59Speaker 3: And I've had and I've had teammates know that I
- 40:01Speaker 3: don't like mustard over the years, and like you know,
- 40:03Speaker 3: when a guy hits his first homer, first win, and
- 40:05Speaker 3: we do the.
- 40:08Speaker 1: I've had. I've been attacked with mustard before. So you
- 40:10Speaker 1: don't even like touching mustard.
- 40:12Speaker 3: It grosses me out, man, really, Yeah, it's just mustard dog. Yeah,
- 40:15Speaker 3: it's gross.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Okay, all right, so we got this is a bourriquah.
- 40:21Speaker 2: It looks like a chili cheese, well chili mustard hot dog. Hey,
- 40:29Speaker 2: it's a Puerto Rican square and inspired hot dog with
- 40:32Speaker 2: a Pittsburg twist. So freedo beef deli kraud, yellow mustard,
- 40:40Speaker 2: American cheese, ketchup, braised onion potato sticks.
- 40:44Speaker 1: You got it man, Yeah, I'm get in there. Who
- 40:52Speaker 1: send me a little prayer? What do you got? It's
- 41:08Speaker 1: pretty good? Yeah? Yeah, I think it's pretty good. Better
- 41:11Speaker 1: than you thought.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I wasn't sure, but it was pretty good. Get
- 41:17Speaker 2: them pretty good. I'm gonna give that eight point seven. Wow,
- 41:26Speaker 2: that's pretty good.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Really.
- 41:29Speaker 2: I mean I don't know that I would go order
- 41:30Speaker 2: it because it has a lot going on, but now
- 41:36Speaker 2: that I've tried it, I would.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Okay, you know, Okay, that's a higher score than I
- 41:41Speaker 1: thought you were gonna go. Yeah, it was.
- 41:43Speaker 2: I mentally I had prepared to give it five. But
- 41:49Speaker 2: panc Park, you guys did pretty good with this. So
- 41:53Speaker 2: shout out to the Puerto Rican community for inspiring this,
- 42:00Speaker 2: and shout out to panc Park for little Pittsburgh.
- 42:02Speaker 1: I don't know what what twist Pittsburgh put on it.
- 42:09Speaker 1: I think the fries on it is the Pittsburgh that
- 42:11Speaker 1: is that what it is. Well, they do good with it. Hey,
- 42:15Speaker 1: you should I get it? No Mustard, Yeah you should
- 42:18Speaker 1: get it, no Mustard, I mean give it, give it
- 42:20Speaker 1: a shot. Yeah.
- 42:21Speaker 2: So anyways, before we wrap up, brother, thank you for
- 42:24Speaker 2: coming on the show. I remember when I first I
- 42:28Speaker 2: was in I don't remember where I was, I don't
- 42:32Speaker 2: remember what what team I was on, but I remember
- 42:33Speaker 2: seeing your name. I don't know who this guy is.
- 42:37Speaker 1: When you were was when when you were with the Royals,
- 42:40Speaker 1: And I'm just start seeing your name over and over
- 42:42Speaker 1: again and then watching them from the other side. You
- 42:45Speaker 1: just got You've gotten better and better and better and better.
- 42:48Speaker 2: And now I feel like you're like a staple. You know,

- 43:38Speaker 1: Hard that is. Yeah, it was where it's rough, but
- 43:41Speaker 1: that's really good. It is what it is.
