- 0:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I need to get my metal lunchbox and get

- 0:35Speaker 1: team owners will vote on August twenty sixth about the
- 0:38Speaker 1: sale of the Seahawks to the Coosal family. It's now
- 0:41Speaker 1: expected the league will prove the sale before the Seahawks

- 0:47Speaker 1: New England Patriots in the Super Bowl rematch. Major League

- 0:59Speaker 1: Louis Cardinals Jordan Walker won it. He said after he
- 1:02Speaker 1: won it, quote, I want to be a role model
- 1:04Speaker 1: for the black kids, and I want to more black
- 1:06Speaker 1: kids in baseball. I know a lot of them are
- 1:09Speaker 1: playing basketball the football route, but I want them to
- 1:12Speaker 1: know the baseball route is open to them too. ESPN
- 1:16Speaker 1: is reporting the Major League Baseball has gathered support from
- 1:18Speaker 1: owners to allow big league players to participate in the
- 1:21Speaker 1: Olympics for the first time in baseball in the twenty
- 1:23Speaker 1: twenty eight games in Los Angeles. They had gotten away
- 1:26Speaker 1: with baseball and the Olympics for a while, and then
- 1:28Speaker 1: they brought it back. The thing is, there's disagreements with
- 1:31Speaker 1: the players union in Major League Baseball over hotel rooms, tickets,
- 1:34Speaker 1: and a mandatory participation agreement that have complicated their involvement
- 1:37Speaker 1: in They I think.
- 1:38Speaker 3: The US Baseball treats their players at a very high level.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Ridiculous. How many Olympic village like all the rest of
- 1:45Speaker 1: the athletes. Yes, hotel rooms, that's hilarious. Well, an archery person,
- 1:50Speaker 1: you'd be like hotel rooms exactly.
- 1:53Speaker 3: But when you're used to a certain level of treatment.
- 1:57Speaker 3: I think that they're like, wait, why would I do this?
- 2:00Speaker 1: We could represent your country doing something you can do.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Obviously we know that, but they.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Don't hotel rooms. I saw that. I just.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Well, Craig, you have been experience in barracks.
- 2:13Speaker 1: So the Olympic villages in Los Angeles won't exactly be slums.
- 2:18Speaker 1: They're gonna probably be brand new. Yeah, and I mean,
- 2:21Speaker 1: come on, hotel rooms. Will Cup semifinals start today at
- 2:25Speaker 1: noon Spain, France, indoors in Arlington, Texas, eleven thirty am.
- 2:29Speaker 1: Pregame in noon kickoff Right here on ninety three point

- 2:45Speaker 1: it in the match too. Right here at noon on
- 2:47Speaker 1: ninety three point three KJR FM. Now I'm with the
- 2:50Speaker 1: Tuesday show. Listen, but I guess your day. I go
- 3:16Speaker 1: said the storm door.
- 3:18Speaker 2: No, I got the blow.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Because I know from the story maybe when your.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Broom, Mama, that I card to don my game. I
- 3:28Speaker 4: will show you that I'm winning your love. Those doms
- 3:34Speaker 4: I said that I.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Loved you your love. It's trying, it's dry your love.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I tho you your love.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Yes, I.
- 3:53Speaker 1: Good morning. Mark Morrison says, good morning. Do you return
- 3:56Speaker 1: in the mag ninety three point three k j R.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Fam every day tending noon, Greg Jasmin McIntyre are with you.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Good morning, ma'am.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Maybe I've been in this business for twenty years and
- 4:06Speaker 2: forgot to turn.
- 4:07Speaker 5: On a mic.
- 4:08Speaker 1: That's okay, or you're not used to be called man?
- 4:10Speaker 2: Yeah, to see that throws me. That throws me.
- 4:13Speaker 3: On Friday, at Ian's golf tournament, I had the pleasure
- 4:16Speaker 3: of hanging out with Ryan Holinsky for the majority of
- 4:19Speaker 3: the time and he kept he's such a Southern gentleman,
- 4:21Speaker 3: and I was like, please stop calling me that, and
- 4:23Speaker 3: he's like his miss.
- 4:24Speaker 2: I'm like, no, I'm just jess Aman, okay, But I
- 4:28Speaker 2: do appreciate it, so thank you.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Wow, I was raised. Sorry.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I think it's a very positive quality. It just throws me.
- 4:35Speaker 2: As someone from New York. I'm used to be called
- 4:37Speaker 2: yo nowadays.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Coach, that's true. That's nowadays, I gotta be careful. I
- 4:41Speaker 1: teach a graduate school, oh graduates of undergrads, and they
- 4:46Speaker 1: correct me on that about gender neutrality.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Well, that's a whole other things, yes, but I always
- 4:54Speaker 3: recognize that it comes with a sign of respect.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Thank you. That's what it's yah to be. Taking a
- 4:59Speaker 1: go golf. We have the Major Golf Challenge going on
- 5:02Speaker 1: this week on ninety three point three KJFM and on
- 5:04Speaker 1: our website nine through three KJR dot com. The British Open,
- 5:07Speaker 1: the Open Championship as it were, is teeing off this
- 5:10Speaker 1: weekend over the across the Pond, and it starts Thursday,
- 5:15Speaker 1: like middle of the night Pacific time. So you got
- 5:16Speaker 1: to get this contest done on our website by Wednesday night,
- 5:19Speaker 1: end of day Wednesday. Go to nine three to three
- 5:22Speaker 1: KGr dot com. You pick out a group of golfers
- 5:25Speaker 1: you think is going to have the lowest score among
- 5:27Speaker 1: the groups listed there, and you'll be entered to win.
- 5:31Speaker 1: It's a total score to part and then you'll be
- 5:33Speaker 1: able to win a Pacific Golf Northwest Academy two hour
- 5:36Speaker 1: full game assessment, couples lessons a month, a round of
- 5:41Speaker 1: four for golf, a gamble Sands.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Dude, that's like pretty high quality here in this area
- 5:45Speaker 3: because we only get a couple good months of golf exactly.
- 5:49Speaker 1: And it's brought to you by BNW Golf Academy Gamble Sands.
- 5:52Speaker 1: The Boeing Classic Bowing Classic coming to the club in
- 5:54Speaker 1: snow Qualmie Ridge on August eleventh through the sixteenth. For
- 5:57Speaker 1: tickets and information, go to Boeing Classic All one word,
- 6:01Speaker 1: it's a pretty big deal. It is ninety three KJR
- 6:04Speaker 1: dot com for your chance to be a part of
- 6:05Speaker 1: the major golf challenge British Open, the Open.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Well no, no, I'm sorry, the US Open is the Open.
- 6:13Speaker 2: It's not what the British colonizers.
- 6:16Speaker 1: That's true, that's true. A PostScript to what I was
- 6:19Speaker 1: talking about about the hotels with the Olympic baseball Yes,
- 6:24Speaker 1: did you know that? The and it's commonplace that the
- 6:27Speaker 1: NHL players who compete in the Winter Olympics stay in
- 6:30Speaker 1: their own five star hotels in the cities they go to.
- 6:33Speaker 1: One of the many reasons the US Olympic hockey team
- 6:36Speaker 1: became very popular in Milan this past winter is they
- 6:38Speaker 1: stayed in the Olympic village and they did not like
- 6:41Speaker 1: their Canadian kind of parts and others. They did not
- 6:44Speaker 1: stay in five star hotels. But the US hockey team
- 6:46Speaker 1: was in the Olympic Village. And when it's done really right,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I was when I was in Vancouver, what is it
- 6:52Speaker 1: last week or a week and a.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Half ago, for that last weekend.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Yes, it was for the World Cup match I went
- 6:57Speaker 1: to see up there in Switzerland against Algeria. I went
- 7:01Speaker 1: through the old Olympic Village. This is right across the
- 7:03Speaker 1: river from Vcouver games that I covered. Those the Olympic
- 7:10Speaker 1: Village then are now condominiums and apartments and they've been
- 7:14Speaker 1: repurposed for the community and it's really nice. Good at
- 7:18Speaker 1: some things, that's right, because there has there has been
- 7:21Speaker 1: some grift and some just stealing from governments in the
- 7:24Speaker 1: past of Olympics and Olympic villages and Olympic facilities that
- 7:28Speaker 1: are just abandoned after the Olympics leave. But Vancouver, because
- 7:32Speaker 1: it was in the center corps there, repurposed theirs into
- 7:35Speaker 1: very very expensive I'm sure housing. Vancouver is one of
- 7:40Speaker 1: the most expensive real estate markets in the world. But yeah,
- 7:44Speaker 1: it's a beautiful right down on Fells Creek there, right
- 7:47Speaker 1: on the river across from BC place. They've taken the
- 7:49Speaker 1: Olympic village and turned them into apartments. So anyway, hopefully
- 7:54Speaker 1: the Major League Baseball players can get around their five
- 7:57Speaker 1: star hotel requirements for the Olympic twenty eight and participation.
- 8:01Speaker 3: You know what I love that you said is like
- 8:03Speaker 3: the popularity that comes with it with the hockey team
- 8:06Speaker 3: staying there. And but if you're a part of the Olympics,
- 8:09Speaker 3: don't you want to be a part of the Olympics.
- 8:12Speaker 3: I always thought that was Our good friend Danny O'Neill
- 8:15Speaker 3: used to always make this joke. Why you know, there
- 8:17Speaker 3: was this big joke and it's been widely public so
- 8:20Speaker 3: I'm not being crude, but they were like passing out
- 8:22Speaker 3: condoms there.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's very common, and Danny was like, don't
- 8:26Speaker 1: do that.
- 8:26Speaker 3: We need future athletes here, please don't do that.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Well, I've covered a few Olympics and it is odd.
- 8:33Speaker 3: It isld wouldn't it be like the hottest people in
- 8:37Speaker 3: the world's all stag physical condition and also like on
- 8:42Speaker 3: a high of you know, adrenaline and everything, And I
- 8:45Speaker 3: think it's really fun. But even if you're not participating
- 8:48Speaker 3: in that, you are it's like going to college, Yes,
- 8:51Speaker 3: and being in the dorms and you get to you know,
- 8:55Speaker 3: to do whatever you want. But it's just fun and
- 8:58Speaker 3: that is the spirit of the Olympics is obviously you're
- 9:02Speaker 3: all in the heat of competition, but the other side
- 9:05Speaker 3: of it just.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Something no pun intended. Oh oh, I know you just
- 9:09Speaker 1: said that.
- 9:10Speaker 3: I really just walk myself right into that one. And
- 9:13Speaker 3: I accidentally do that all the time. I don't know
- 9:16Speaker 3: what euphemisms are at all, so I'm an idiot on that.
- 9:20Speaker 3: But I just think that if you're going to go
- 9:26Speaker 3: to the Olympics, be in the Olympics exactly.
- 9:29Speaker 1: On the show today, we have a truncated show because
- 9:31Speaker 1: we have the Olympic, the Olympics, the World Cup three
- 9:34Speaker 1: game show on the national iHeart network right here on
- 9:37Speaker 1: our station at eleven thirty before Spain and France kickoff
- 9:40Speaker 1: the World Cup semifinals from Arlington, Texas at noon on
- 9:43Speaker 1: our station. First question right off the top text four
- 9:47Speaker 1: nine five one it's coming out to tech sign or
- 9:49Speaker 1: the text the talkback button. It's on our nine three
- 9:51Speaker 1: three KJR dot com website at the top or on
- 9:53Speaker 1: the iHeartRadio app. What do you want to see the
- 9:56Speaker 1: new Seahawks owners, the Cozlas change in the stadium, a
- 10:00Speaker 1: fan experience, training camp, the whole registering, get on a
- 10:05Speaker 1: bus thing.
- 10:06Speaker 2: I thought that was the greatest thing about training camp.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Grass in Lumenfield. What do you want? They're gonna change something.
- 10:12Speaker 1: They're not gonna spend nine point six billion, And as
- 10:15Speaker 1: great as the Seahawks have been, and as great as
- 10:17Speaker 1: their operation has operated in winning and profiting and in
- 10:22Speaker 1: the Northwest, and as community minded as they often are,
- 10:26Speaker 1: they're gonna change something. Nine point six billion dollars in
- 10:29Speaker 1: your investment. If you coin, you're gonna do something, most
- 10:33Speaker 1: likely on the business end. And we can talk about
- 10:36Speaker 1: what we think. It's off the top. It's a pretty
- 10:38Speaker 1: easy off the top what they may do to lumen Field.
- 10:42Speaker 1: We talked a little bit about it yesterday. We'll talk
- 10:43Speaker 1: about that again. But we'd like to hear from you
- 10:45Speaker 1: on the talk back, in on the iHeart, on the
- 10:48Speaker 1: iHeartRadio app, and on our website. And it's come at
- 10:51Speaker 1: Odge tech Lin four nine, four or five one. If
- 10:53Speaker 1: you had your druthers, what would you like to see
- 10:55Speaker 1: the new Seahawks owners change? And I'm not talking football coach,
- 11:01Speaker 1: so we don't need that that should remain untouched. But
- 11:05Speaker 1: there are things they can change, and what would you
- 11:07Speaker 1: like to see him change. At ten twenty, we're we
- 11:09Speaker 1: talk to Jackson Felts, our resident KJR soccer analyst and
- 11:12Speaker 1: Sounders host on the World Cup.
- 11:14Speaker 2: I wonder if he's going to be furious.
- 11:16Speaker 1: Well, that's I heard. He's not anymore chilled out.
- 11:21Speaker 3: I know no, but furious felt is the great. I
- 11:23Speaker 3: will say that furious means passion, correct, Yes.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Furious Fifa Felts was what they were calling him during
- 11:29Speaker 1: the US run. Here the Sounders, by the way, play
- 11:32Speaker 1: two nights from now back on the grass pitch against
- 11:34Speaker 1: Portland down at lumen Field, and then the grass goes
- 11:38Speaker 1: away and here we go back to the turf. It
- 11:40Speaker 1: should not happen, but it's going to happen in time
- 11:42Speaker 1: for the Seahawks to have their fan fest the first
- 11:44Speaker 1: week of August, and then preseason the one home preseason
- 11:48Speaker 1: game and the regular season. It's back to turf and
- 11:51Speaker 1: the Sounders will finish their MLST season on turf, as
- 11:53Speaker 1: will the Rain. Aaron Donald rejoining the Rams, that's a
- 11:58Speaker 1: rumor that just won't go away. It's catching so much
- 12:01Speaker 1: TMZ is involved.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Oh gosh, like really, like, isn't there a Kardashian out
- 12:06Speaker 2: there somewhere.
- 12:07Speaker 1: It's funny how TMZ got involved. We talk about that.
- 12:10Speaker 1: We'll also hear from Steve Whitch, our buddy, longtime guests
- 12:12Speaker 1: of the show, longtime friend of mine and colleague in
- 12:14Speaker 1: the NFL from NFL Network, Steve Whitch commenting. You'll hear
- 12:18Speaker 1: from him about that about Aaron Donald joining Miles Garrett
- 12:22Speaker 1: on the Redbuilt Rams, which is why the Rams are
- 12:25Speaker 1: the Super Bowl favorites that Leonard Williams and others have
- 12:27Speaker 1: noticed down at Seahawk headquarters.
- 12:29Speaker 3: They were Super Bowl favorites last year. And this is
- 12:31Speaker 3: something that really gets into Andrews kraw Is that they
- 12:36Speaker 3: were the better team.
- 12:37Speaker 2: They were the better team. Is like this, you know,
- 12:40Speaker 2: out public feeling and all of that.
- 12:44Speaker 3: The charbonnet step inside the ends, and they did suffer injuries,
- 12:48Speaker 3: so we you know, we have to take that into account. However,
- 12:52Speaker 3: the Seahawks won the Super Bowl, and he it drives
- 12:56Speaker 3: him nuts that people think that the Rams were the
- 12:59Speaker 3: better team less year.
- 13:00Speaker 1: The only thing I see fire NDErs up more than
- 13:03Speaker 1: that is to talk about analytics and baseball and how animations.
- 13:07Speaker 1: When I talked at him about that, come in here, man,
- 13:10Speaker 1: he went through the glass at me. He was fired up,
- 13:14Speaker 1: and I was trying to say, well, it doesn't mean
- 13:15Speaker 1: he's listen to I'm not going to rehash it. But
- 13:17Speaker 1: my point was it doesn't make it right just because
- 13:19Speaker 1: that's what they do. But he was all, yeah, but
- 13:22Speaker 1: everybody else in the rams, the Rams, Yeah. Remember eleven
- 13:28Speaker 1: thirty we got a World Cup pregame show noon kickoff
- 13:30Speaker 1: for the World Cup semi final Spain versus France, to
- 13:33Speaker 1: talk about that and everything World Cup, everything soccer, including
- 13:36Speaker 1: the sounders return. Jackson Felt is going to join us
- 13:38Speaker 1: next on ninety three point three kJ RFM. That Granny
- 14:06Speaker 1: Hose music means World Cup talkers are coming.
- 14:09Speaker 2: It's a really good music that we don't use enough.
- 14:12Speaker 1: That's sure. Remember the World Cup pregame show, the iHeart
- 14:15Speaker 1: National Pregame Show with Anderson Hurst and Danny Jackson'll be
- 14:19Speaker 1: right next to me in the studio and it'll be
- 14:21Speaker 1: on your air on ninety three point three KJRF FM
- 14:23Speaker 1: and eleven thirty leading into a kickoff right here on
- 14:25Speaker 1: our station of Spain and France. In the first of
- 14:28Speaker 1: two World Cup Semifinals England Argentina, same time, same place tomorrow,
- 14:32Speaker 1: right here on ninety three point three KJFM to talk
- 14:35Speaker 1: about all of That's talk about the Sounders returning from
- 14:38Speaker 1: the World Cup break and playing a Cascadia Cup match
- 14:41Speaker 1: two days from now on the Thursday on the grass
- 14:44Speaker 1: pitch at Lumenfield, the last match on the grass pitch
- 14:48Speaker 1: before they put back the turf. Jackson Feldt's our resident expert.
- 14:53Speaker 1: He's everyone keeps calling him furious, but I never find
- 14:56Speaker 1: him to be that furious. He's pass tense and passionate,
- 14:59Speaker 1: not quite furious. Hello Jackson, Greg good to be with
- 15:03Speaker 1: you this morning. See at Wow, that was really chill
- 15:07Speaker 1: with you as well.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Sir.
- 15:09Speaker 1: All right, let's first all explain. I see a lot
- 15:12Speaker 1: of uneducated or people who just don't know asking why
- 15:17Speaker 1: is a World Cup semi final being held at three
- 15:20Speaker 1: pm Eastern twelve noon Pacific time on a Tuesday afternoon.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Can you please explain to the masses?
- 15:27Speaker 6: Yeah, And that's kind of joined with the question of
- 15:30Speaker 6: why are they on separate days? Isn't one team getting
- 15:32Speaker 6: an advantage when it comes to Sunday's final in New York?
- 15:36Speaker 6: And the question is ultimately, TV ratings and TV coverage
- 15:40Speaker 6: around the globe. I mean really, you know, money dominates
- 15:44Speaker 6: the whole thing, and you want viewers, you want eyes,
- 15:46Speaker 6: you want maximization over all that and noon Pacific time,
- 15:52Speaker 6: three Eastern and where it's being played of course in
- 15:55Speaker 6: Dallas today, Atlanta tomorrow. It really comes down to, all right, well,
- 16:00Speaker 6: where are we going to get the most eyes when
- 16:02Speaker 6: it comes to the United States West Coast, when it
- 16:05Speaker 6: comes to the United States East Coast, when it comes
- 16:08Speaker 6: to England, when it comes to France, when it comes
- 16:11Speaker 6: to most of Europe, and then we really don't care
- 16:14Speaker 6: too much about East Asia, you know, in wather, Japan, China, Australia,
- 16:20Speaker 6: you know, those countries can watch you know, early in
- 16:22Speaker 6: the morning for them. But it really does come down
- 16:25Speaker 6: to what time can maximize the globe, and three pm
- 16:30Speaker 6: Eastern time, noon Pacific kind of does maximize time the
- 16:34Speaker 6: best across the globe.
- 16:36Speaker 1: It is at three o'clock or Eastern time today, noon
- 16:40Speaker 1: Pacific of the kickoff of Spain and France Madrid time,
- 16:42Speaker 1: that's nine pm and nine pm in Paris and tomorrow
- 16:46Speaker 1: and Buenos Aires it'll be four pm or a kickoff
- 16:49Speaker 1: Buenos Are's time, but eight pm in London and eight
- 16:53Speaker 1: and nine pm across Central Europe. To Jackson's point, all right,
- 16:57Speaker 1: what do you think happens today? Spain has been very
- 17:00Speaker 1: good at not conceding goals. Their first goal conceded was
- 17:03Speaker 1: in the round of eight, the quarterfinals the other day.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Yet they haven't scored a lot either. And then you've
- 17:08Speaker 1: got France who just seem to be like track guys
- 17:11Speaker 1: on cleats in this World Cup, just out running everybody.
- 17:14Speaker 1: And Bobby Elise to me, is a dynamic player that
- 17:18Speaker 1: nobody has an answer for. Can Spain outscore or slow
- 17:22Speaker 1: down and keep France from scoring?
- 17:23Speaker 6: You think they can slow them down? I mean, Greg,
- 17:27Speaker 6: this is gonna be kind of like Art of War
- 17:29Speaker 6: two chess grand masters going against each other. This is
- 17:32Speaker 6: gonna be some incredible strategy that we see here in
- 17:35Speaker 6: about an hour and a half. Because Spain love to
- 17:38Speaker 6: control the ball. They're gonna want to hold onto the ball.
- 17:41Speaker 6: They're gonna want to possess, possessed, possess death, buy a
- 17:44Speaker 6: million cuts. It's sort of like for football, it's you know,
- 17:47Speaker 6: five yard pass, seven yard pass, five yard pass, seven
- 17:50Speaker 6: yard past, three yard run and then just do it
- 17:52Speaker 6: over again. That's kind of Spain's game. And they don't
- 17:56Speaker 6: have one guy. I mean, Oyers of Ball is their
- 17:59Speaker 6: lead strike or he has four goals on the World Cup.
- 18:02Speaker 6: But they don't have a killing embope or as you
- 18:06Speaker 6: mentioned there, they don't have you know, all those different
- 18:09Speaker 6: guys at least say and Demballe and Douet. For France,
- 18:13Speaker 6: they don't have the horses that France does. But they
- 18:17Speaker 6: have the best midfield in this entire World Cup. I
- 18:19Speaker 6: set it going into the World Cup. It has proved
- 18:21Speaker 6: true through right now that they do have the best midfield.
- 18:25Speaker 6: They possess the ball like nobody else. They're pinpoint accurate,
- 18:29Speaker 6: they ping balls to each other, they're in the midfield
- 18:32Speaker 6: and they have great first touches. When a midfield picks
- 18:34Speaker 6: up a really quick little pass, and their ability to
- 18:38Speaker 6: do that will halt France. It won't allow those four
- 18:42Speaker 6: guys and everybody behind them, It won't allow their legs
- 18:46Speaker 6: to open up, I think, and get them on counter attacks.
- 18:48Speaker 6: Spain's just two good passing wise, if Spain makes a
- 18:51Speaker 6: mistake and France is gone on the other end, then gobye.
- 18:55Speaker 1: But also I.
- 18:56Speaker 6: Would say that their fullbacks and their defenders are very strong.
- 18:59Speaker 6: I mean Pedro Porol on one end in Kukarea on
- 19:02Speaker 6: the other end, they're two fullbacks. Those are fast, really
- 19:05Speaker 6: talented players and if if France want to get them
- 19:07Speaker 6: on the counter, I think that they'll be able to
- 19:09Speaker 6: cover quite well. But this game I think goes one
- 19:13Speaker 6: hundred and twenty minutes at least, it's just going to
- 19:16Speaker 6: be really tight. Spain may eventually find a goal that
- 19:19Speaker 6: I don't think France get their normal three plus goals
- 19:23Speaker 6: in this game. I think France's attack does get halted
- 19:26Speaker 6: by just the amount of possession that Spain's going to keep.
- 19:30Speaker 1: They can probably have what eighty plus percent of the
- 19:32Speaker 1: ball and still be a tight, close match. I mean, yeah,
- 19:36Speaker 1: it might.
- 19:36Speaker 6: It might be more like, you know, sixty five seventy percent,
- 19:39Speaker 6: but it will be a high number compared to you
- 19:42Speaker 6: know what you might see normally Spain. Spain loves to
- 19:46Speaker 6: just keep it around and then play keep away, and
- 19:48Speaker 6: they do it extremely well.
- 19:51Speaker 1: What do you think about as a soccer guy, this
- 19:54Speaker 1: semi final being indoors in Arlington and then the tomorrow
- 19:58Speaker 1: England Argentina being in doors in Atlanta. I know it's
- 20:01Speaker 1: on grass. But are you cool with that? It's maybe
- 20:04Speaker 1: it's merciful to have it Dallas and in Atlanta in
- 20:08Speaker 1: the July and the in sores.
- 20:10Speaker 6: Yeah, no, it's it's a good move. It's it's climate controlled.
- 20:13Speaker 6: You need that for sure. I mean, it's the reality
- 20:16Speaker 6: of the situation being played in July in the United
- 20:19Speaker 6: States and it's going to be hot, it's going to
- 20:21Speaker 6: be crazy. I mean, I'm just glad that that neither
- 20:24Speaker 6: of these semifinals are being played in Miami, where you know,
- 20:28Speaker 6: you get I mean, for what we saw in the
- 20:30Speaker 6: quarterfinals this last weekend where it was eighty eight degrees,
- 20:34Speaker 6: I want to say, a kickoff with eighty percent humidity
- 20:37Speaker 6: like that. These are these are I mean, these are
- 20:40Speaker 6: the two best semifinals to ever take place in the
- 20:43Speaker 6: World Cup. We've never had one, two, three, four in
- 20:45Speaker 6: the pre tournament rankings, all make the semifinals, and these
- 20:49Speaker 6: games deserve, you know, fully neutral conditions. So yeah, I
- 20:53Speaker 6: like the climate controlled atmosphere.
- 20:56Speaker 1: Okay, the other semifinal, Argentina has somewhat been getting by,
- 21:00Speaker 1: I mean, albeit spectacularly, but getting by and maybe not
- 21:05Speaker 1: playing to their fullest potential, and Switzerland had them on
- 21:07Speaker 1: the ropes, and then you had England, who is just surging.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I mean maybe probably not, maybe yes. The most impressive
- 21:15Speaker 1: win of the tournament was then going to Estadiosteca and
- 21:18Speaker 1: beating Mexico in the humidity and the rain delay and
- 21:23Speaker 1: all of that at seventy two hundred feet. Is England
- 21:27Speaker 1: going to do it? Is Argentina going to be Argentina again?
- 21:32Speaker 6: You know where Today's game is going to have the
- 21:34Speaker 6: really intense strategy and like you know, soccer stickos like me,
- 21:37Speaker 6: you're just gonna love it for the strategy part of it.
- 21:40Speaker 6: I think that Tomorrow's game Argentina England, if for for
- 21:44Speaker 6: every you know, for your casual soccer fan, for your
- 21:47Speaker 6: casual sports fan, that's going to be the game. That
- 21:50Speaker 6: could be three to three, and it could be three
- 21:52Speaker 6: to three at halftime. I mean, it's just going to
- 21:55Speaker 6: be back and forth. It's going to be wild action.
- 21:57Speaker 6: We've seen both teams give up goals goals, but we've
- 22:00Speaker 6: seen both teams be able to put allowed goals in
- 22:04Speaker 6: the back of the net. And you're right, I mean
- 22:06Speaker 6: England has a lot of firepower. They've showed it with
- 22:09Speaker 6: that really impressive win in Mexico. Harry Kane Jude Bellingham
- 22:13Speaker 6: are on fire right now. And then obviously Argentina has
- 22:16Speaker 6: the goat and they have a whole bunch of players
- 22:18Speaker 6: in addition to the goat. Alexis McCallister is a really,
- 22:21Speaker 6: really good player. He scored in this last win that
- 22:24Speaker 6: they got to the semi finals. So I think that
- 22:28Speaker 6: for these teams it's sort of it is to completely
- 22:32Speaker 6: contrast today's game. It's the question of how much can
- 22:35Speaker 6: you score? How many can you get in the back
- 22:37Speaker 6: of the net, because you know three may not be enough.
- 22:41Speaker 6: It's gonna be really fun. It's so hard to pick
- 22:44Speaker 6: because I think ultimately it will come down to the
- 22:48Speaker 6: very end of just who scores between the eightieth and
- 22:51Speaker 6: ninetieth minute may take it. But both teams have such
- 22:54Speaker 6: attacking talent and also talent in the midfield that I
- 22:58Speaker 6: think they're going to be able to overrun each other's defenses.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Thomas Tuckle could win the match if he just keeps
- 23:03Speaker 1: Anthony Gordon on the pitch. Well, what did he take
- 23:06Speaker 1: him out for? He's been their best England's best player
- 23:09Speaker 1: of the last two match. Nobody can stop him. He's
- 23:11Speaker 1: just dominating the left side.
- 23:14Speaker 6: Anthony Gordon's been really really good. I would say, also
- 23:18Speaker 6: it's been the other wing for England. That's gonna have
- 23:20Speaker 6: been the question. I'm not sure why Tugall took out
- 23:23Speaker 6: Sokka to start this recent match against Norway. I think that,
- 23:27Speaker 6: you know, you put somebody in who didn't do as
- 23:29Speaker 6: good of a job. But I think you've got to
- 23:31Speaker 6: go back to starting soccer on the other wing in
- 23:33Speaker 6: Gordon soccer, Caine Bellingham.
- 23:35Speaker 2: That four.
- 23:36Speaker 6: It's not France. I mean, France's forsome is maybe, gosh,
- 23:41Speaker 6: you know, I'm thinking out loud, maybe the best attacking
- 23:45Speaker 6: foursome ever in World Cup history. I think about the
- 23:48Speaker 6: three from Brazil in two thousand and two with the
- 23:51Speaker 6: og the better Rinaldo at the nine at their striker position.
- 23:55Speaker 6: But I think that England's four is good. It's not
- 24:00Speaker 6: answers for but you know, I think that it's one
- 24:03Speaker 6: of those things where Anthony Gordon on once or Gordon
- 24:06Speaker 6: on one side, excuse me, Soka on the other, Caine Bellingham,
- 24:09Speaker 6: that's gonna match Argentina. Argentina is obviously, you know, they
- 24:13Speaker 6: have messy, they have a whole bunch of other good players,
- 24:16Speaker 6: but as a group, I think England is just as good.
- 24:20Speaker 1: Jack and Feltz our resident soccer guy, Sounders host, joining
- 24:23Speaker 1: us here on the Beacon Plumbing Hotline before Spain and
- 24:26Speaker 1: France kick off the World Cup semifinals right here on
- 24:28Speaker 1: ninety three point three kJ R at noon. Okay, I'm
- 24:32Speaker 1: gonna ask you two part question. One is what do
- 24:35Speaker 1: you think is gonna happen in these two semifinals? And
- 24:37Speaker 1: what would you like to have happen in these two
- 24:39Speaker 1: What matchup in the final would you like to see?
- 24:41Speaker 1: Which one are you going to see? You think?
- 24:43Speaker 6: I would like to see Spain Argentina. I picked Spain
- 24:48Speaker 6: going into this tournament to win it, and I want
- 24:50Speaker 6: to see that happen, just selfishly. And I want to
- 24:53Speaker 6: see Argentina in the final because I want to make
- 24:55Speaker 6: Andrews happy, and I don't like it when Andrews is mad.
- 24:59Speaker 1: But I mean.
- 25:03Speaker 6: I think that it will be France England. I think
- 25:06Speaker 6: that England is good enough defensively. They have found ways
- 25:10Speaker 6: to win, and great teams find ways to win. I
- 25:13Speaker 6: think they're strong enough with that forsome to outlast even
- 25:17Speaker 6: as good as Messy is I think Argentine has given
- 25:20Speaker 6: up some goals that they shouldn't give up. I think
- 25:22Speaker 6: that ultimately England has the momentum and they've really fought
- 25:27Speaker 6: through a lot of battles to get here. And you
- 25:31Speaker 6: go back to the Congo game that they had in
- 25:32Speaker 6: the round of thirty two where they're down one to
- 25:35Speaker 6: nothing and Harry Kane scores two in the seventy fifth
- 25:37Speaker 6: and eighty sixth. They're doing that kind of stuff and
- 25:41Speaker 6: I like England, but it's gonna be so close. It's
- 25:44Speaker 6: an absolute coin flip. France is I think the absolute
- 25:47Speaker 6: pick to win the thing, and you know, being objective,
- 25:50Speaker 6: I want Spain, but France is the best team in
- 25:52Speaker 6: this whole thing. They have the attacking threats that we
- 25:55Speaker 6: haven't seen before of that fors theme. They're good enough defensively.
- 25:59Speaker 6: I just don't know if anybody is going to be
- 26:02Speaker 6: able to keep up with I mean, honestly great. I
- 26:05Speaker 6: think that the winner of today's game wins the World Cup.
- 26:08Speaker 6: I think Spain beats in Argentina. I think Spain beats
- 26:11Speaker 6: in Englhen. It won't be, you know, a blowout or anything.
- 26:14Speaker 6: It's just my pick to win. It's just you know
- 26:15Speaker 6: my take. But I think France will would run through
- 26:20Speaker 6: the rest. I think I think France against England or
- 26:23Speaker 6: France against Argentina, it's France all the way and they
- 26:26Speaker 6: certainly want revenge for what happened four years ago.
- 26:28Speaker 1: So that's World Cup semifinals the next two days here
- 26:31Speaker 1: on ninety three point three KJR, and then on Thursday,
- 26:34Speaker 1: the Sounders return to MLS action. They play a Cascadia
- 26:37Speaker 1: Cup match against the Portland Timbers down at Lumenfield. Jackson
- 26:40Speaker 1: will be there for that here on KJR. It'll be
- 26:44Speaker 1: the last game on the grass pitch at Lumenfield. The
- 26:46Speaker 1: Rain played one post World Cup game on it this
- 26:49Speaker 1: past weekend, and then it'll be the Sounders and then
- 26:51Speaker 1: they're gonna but they're not gonna rip up the grass
- 26:54Speaker 1: and they're not going to reinstall the turf. You were there,
- 26:56Speaker 1: Jackson and looking at the inner workings of how this
- 26:59Speaker 1: grass over turf thing work. Can you explain to everybody
- 27:02Speaker 1: what they're going to do to undo the World Cup
- 27:04Speaker 1: field and put the turf back in.
- 27:07Speaker 6: Yeah? So right now at Luman, you know what we've
- 27:10Speaker 6: seen previously to the World Cup was obviously the turf field,
- 27:13Speaker 6: and they can take the turf up, they can put
- 27:15Speaker 6: down the area that they put down for concerts and stuff.
- 27:20Speaker 1: Over that base.
- 27:22Speaker 6: They built essentially a almost two feet tall box and
- 27:29Speaker 6: inside of this box they have an entire irrigation system,
- 27:33Speaker 6: a entire system built to have grass laid on top
- 27:38Speaker 6: of the box. And the grass that they had been
- 27:40Speaker 6: growing over in eastern Washington for a long time that
- 27:43Speaker 6: got put over this box. And what they are essentially playing,
- 27:47Speaker 6: there's so much support system. It's not like you know,
- 27:50Speaker 6: bounce bounce on a box. It's fully supported. It's quite
- 27:54Speaker 6: intricate and really well done with a whole bunch of
- 27:56Speaker 6: plastic supports, and it's really well done by FIFA and
- 28:00Speaker 6: the Seattle World Cup committee to make this thing work.
- 28:04Speaker 6: But what you can essentially do is once this World
- 28:06Speaker 6: Cup is that you don't have to rip up the grass.
- 28:08Speaker 6: You just bring out the box and the grass comes
- 28:12Speaker 6: with it, and and this box gets lifted over and
- 28:14Speaker 6: suddenly we have the loo and field back to normal
- 28:17Speaker 6: with their base. The turf is down and badabing bada boom,
- 28:21Speaker 6: we're playing Thursday night at seven thirty.
- 28:23Speaker 1: What is where it happens to the grass? I mean,
- 28:25Speaker 1: it's twenty five hundred feet of world class got grass.
- 28:28Speaker 1: What do they Is it a go go someone's yard
- 28:31Speaker 1: or what do we do with that?
- 28:32Speaker 3: You know?
- 28:33Speaker 6: I could I could use some in mind.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I got people on the text slide say it, I'll
- 28:36Speaker 1: haul it away for free.
- 28:38Speaker 6: Ron A mylan is quite brown right now.
- 28:42Speaker 1: No, I it's a good question.
- 28:43Speaker 6: I'd love to ask Peter Tomasala what the plans are
- 28:46Speaker 6: for that, because I'm sure there's not only is there
- 28:49Speaker 6: you know, people just for the for the joke of it,
- 28:51Speaker 6: but like that's really good grass that could go to
- 28:55Speaker 6: a potential cost. So I that's a good question, Greg,
- 28:58Speaker 6: I don't know. I have to ask Peter what they're
- 28:59Speaker 6: gonna do with that.
- 29:01Speaker 1: You just gave us an idea of a guest that
- 29:03Speaker 1: we could have here the rest of the week.
- 29:04Speaker 2: I think that would be fascinating.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Jos Wine, go ahead, ma'am. Oh yeah.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Jackson jessvan McIntyre here, Jackson Felt World Cup analyst and
- 29:13Speaker 3: obviously spectacular producer for Softie and Dick in the afternoons.
- 29:18Speaker 3: As me as a football first American football first person,
- 29:22Speaker 3: I get sucked into the World Cup every single year,
- 29:25Speaker 3: and obviously I'm USA first, but even when they're out
- 29:29Speaker 3: of it, I go out.
- 29:31Speaker 2: I want to watch these games.
- 29:32Speaker 3: So I'm wondering, especially with it being in the United States,
- 29:35Speaker 3: where we're not necessarily a soccer first country, what have
- 29:39Speaker 3: you seen it do this year for those who are
- 29:42Speaker 3: out there as sports fans.
- 29:45Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it's a it's a it's a big question.
- 29:48Speaker 6: It's a good question. Over you know, soccer culture in
- 29:51Speaker 6: the United States now compared to a month and a
- 29:54Speaker 6: half ago, I think certainly it's grown. I think certainly.
- 29:58Speaker 6: You know, we were talking to h yesterday on the
- 30:00Speaker 6: show Who's with Dick again today from three to six pm,
- 30:04Speaker 6: and one of the things that he has talked about
- 30:07Speaker 6: is watching these games. And part of it watching is
- 30:10Speaker 6: because you know, you want to be prepared. We have
- 30:11Speaker 6: a show coming up. But when we have, and I
- 30:14Speaker 6: think Hughes not alone is that. I think you have
- 30:16Speaker 6: a lot of casual maybe even kind of non soccer
- 30:19Speaker 6: fans who are now watching this because of a few reasons. A.
- 30:23Speaker 6: It's the big countries, it's the top four, as I
- 30:26Speaker 6: mentioned in this tournament going in. It's also the star power.
- 30:31Speaker 6: We had stars really going deep in this tournament. All
- 30:35Speaker 6: over and they still are there. From obviously Lionel Messi,
- 30:38Speaker 6: you got Harry Cannon, England, Jude Bellingham. On the other
- 30:41Speaker 6: side of the bracket you have you're in Boppe and
- 30:43Speaker 6: I think you people around the globe are now learning
- 30:46Speaker 6: the names of Demballe and Dewey and Olease. Say you
- 30:50Speaker 6: know Earling Holland was a name that fans of the
- 30:52Speaker 6: Premier League have known for a while place for Manchester City,
- 30:57Speaker 6: and now the entire world knows the name Earling Holland,
- 30:59Speaker 6: who was obviously a star for Norway in the Golden
- 31:02Speaker 6: Boot Race until this last weekend, until Norway got eliminated.
- 31:06Speaker 6: So I think because of the star power, because of
- 31:08Speaker 6: the countries, you're getting casuals to watch. Now the question
- 31:11Speaker 6: for United States, you know, fans and wanting to continue
- 31:15Speaker 6: on and be soccer fans is the big question. I
- 31:18Speaker 6: talked to Jerry Brewer about this for a column for
- 31:22Speaker 6: The Athletic that he did is are we finding a
- 31:26Speaker 6: seminal moment for soccer in this country that we've been
- 31:29Speaker 6: I mean, people have been talking about is soccer going
- 31:31Speaker 6: to take the jump? They've been asking that question for
- 31:33Speaker 6: three plus decades and once again tournaments of the United States.
- 31:38Speaker 6: Can this be a seminal moment? And what I told
- 31:41Speaker 6: Jerry was this team would have to get to a
- 31:44Speaker 6: quarterfinal and contend, maybe even beat a Spain to create
- 31:49Speaker 6: that seminal moment. Well, guys, we didn't even come close
- 31:52Speaker 6: to that. And not only did we not enter the quarterfinal,
- 31:56Speaker 6: we got absolutely our asses handed to us in the
- 31:59Speaker 6: round of sixteen in a embarrassing blowout to a team
- 32:04Speaker 6: that going into the game against that game against Belgium
- 32:07Speaker 6: we were better than and just to even approach that
- 32:11Speaker 6: seminal moment, you had to have won that game. So
- 32:15Speaker 6: the simple answer, Jessman is no, we did not hit
- 32:18Speaker 6: that seminal moment. I don't know how much soccer truly
- 32:22Speaker 6: grows in this country after this tournament. You know, I
- 32:25Speaker 6: think it will grow a bit. But are we talking
- 32:28Speaker 6: about MLS taking a major jump to you know, join
- 32:33Speaker 6: you know and established. You know, people still call it
- 32:36Speaker 6: the Big Four. It's not the Big four, it's the
- 32:38Speaker 6: Big five. But could soccer take that jump to to
- 32:42Speaker 6: you know, get closer to an MLB. I don't think
- 32:44Speaker 6: it truly took that huge jump with this tournament, but
- 32:48Speaker 6: you know, you know every four years they'll have a chance.
- 32:51Speaker 4: To do that.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Yeah, they do. And my and I'll be honest, I
- 32:54Speaker 2: watch you guys.
- 32:55Speaker 3: I listen to them when it comes to the sounders
- 32:58Speaker 3: and everything, but that's because I have a personal investment,
- 33:00Speaker 3: because I care about you and I love listening to
- 33:03Speaker 3: the games that we carry. But we live in a
- 33:07Speaker 3: really good soccer bubble out here in Seattle. Do you
- 33:10Speaker 3: think that this obviously you just said that it's not
- 33:14Speaker 3: going to vault MLS into the next level, but maybe
- 33:17Speaker 3: for teams that don't live in a soccer bubble that
- 33:21Speaker 3: you might get a little bit more traction with the
- 33:24Speaker 3: local MLS teams after this.
- 33:27Speaker 6: Yeah, I think you will. I think that you will
- 33:30Speaker 6: see attendance jump a little bit. I mean, let's just
- 33:32Speaker 6: take Seattle Rain, our women's protein here in Seattle. I
- 33:36Speaker 6: did the call for them this last Sunday.
- 33:38Speaker 1: Where they'd be you sounded great.
- 33:39Speaker 6: I heard it, Yeah, thank you.
- 33:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 33:42Speaker 6: There were almost fifteen thousand people in the crowd. It
- 33:45Speaker 6: was their fourth highest attended game in the club's history
- 33:49Speaker 6: of home games, and that is partially for a couple
- 33:52Speaker 6: of reasons, as it's because they have a new program
- 33:55Speaker 6: where one paying adult can bring up to five kids
- 34:00Speaker 6: younger to the game for free one five. It's incredible
- 34:05Speaker 6: rainfc dot com for those who want to check out
- 34:07Speaker 6: that that initiative is awesome. So that's part of it.
- 34:09Speaker 6: But also because there is this World Cup flavor, I
- 34:11Speaker 6: think Thursday night Sounders Timbers at seven point thirty that
- 34:14Speaker 6: will have more, you know, I think a nice jump
- 34:17Speaker 6: in attendance because it's Sounders Timbers, because it is post
- 34:21Speaker 6: World Cup in general, I think that across the nation
- 34:24Speaker 6: you will see attendance jumps across the board. Is the
- 34:29Speaker 6: ten thousand person a big jump that I think MLS wanted.
- 34:33Speaker 6: I don't think we're gonna get that much, but could
- 34:35Speaker 6: you get an additional two three Maybe some markets get
- 34:39Speaker 6: four thousand extra. I think that's possible, absolutely, And the
- 34:43Speaker 6: key is is maintaining that you don't want your next
- 34:47Speaker 6: four or five games to just have a two thousand
- 34:50Speaker 6: person attendance jump. You want that to continue the whole
- 34:54Speaker 6: rest of the season and then see that plus two
- 34:57Speaker 6: to five thousand jump for the twenty twenty seven season
- 35:01Speaker 6: and the twenty seven to twenty eight season. The calendar changes,
- 35:03Speaker 6: by the way, so we get a six month season
- 35:06Speaker 6: next year for MLS. That's a whole different topic I
- 35:08Speaker 6: won't get into. But yeah, the element is is, let's
- 35:12Speaker 6: see if this slight jump that we're going to see
- 35:15Speaker 6: right after this World Cup is maintained a long term.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Jackson felts, enjoy the soccer, Enjoy the Sounders return. Thanks
- 35:22Speaker 1: for joining us, sir, Thank you Greg, thank you, Jessemin.
- 35:26Speaker 6: Appreciate the time.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Jackson felts. You'll hear him on our Sounders broadcast on
- 35:29Speaker 1: Thursday night when they return to MLS action. They play
- 35:32Speaker 1: the hated Portland Timbers in a Cascade Cup match at Loomenfield.
- 35:36Speaker 1: It's your last chance to see the grass because then
- 35:38Speaker 1: it's going out trucking it out on those boxes that
- 35:41Speaker 1: Jackson talked about.
- 35:42Speaker 2: If there's any other reason to go see the grass, we.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Got to have the Seattle organizing folks on and ask
- 35:49Speaker 1: him that question. What happens to the grass? Twenty five
- 35:53Speaker 1: hundred square feet of world class grass.
- 35:55Speaker 2: We got a lot of goats in this area. Who
- 35:57Speaker 2: knows we.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Should have it as the Seahawks field.
- 36:01Speaker 2: But that is not going to happen, No, probably not.
- 36:04Speaker 1: That's one of the things on the text line four
- 36:06Speaker 1: nine four y five one. You are suggesting the new owners,
- 36:09Speaker 1: do I do the same. If they want to spend
- 36:11Speaker 1: money and have goodwill with their players, who have the
- 36:14Speaker 1: players I talk to want Grass and Luomenfield, that would
- 36:18Speaker 1: be one good way to make a splash as new owners.
- 36:20Speaker 1: We'll talk about those new owners. We'll talk about John Schneider,
- 36:23Speaker 1: the general manager's first impression of them, the Coosa family,
- 36:26Speaker 1: and your thoughts on what they should change. That's next,
- 36:29Speaker 1: Aaron Donald to the Rams, it's getting more real, so real, Well,
- 36:33Speaker 1: we're not real. TMZ is actually getting involved in that.
- 36:36Speaker 2: What is their noise that they make?
- 36:38Speaker 3: Like it's something like that beer meam all right, there's
- 36:43Speaker 3: a you know, a Kardashian lost an eyelash.
- 36:45Speaker 1: We got it.
- 36:46Speaker 2: But if they're paying attention to this, it's very outside
- 36:49Speaker 2: their realm.
- 36:50Speaker 1: Eleven thirty The World Cup pregame Show with Anderson Hurst
- 36:53Speaker 1: and Danny Jackson on our air right before Spain and
- 36:55Speaker 1: France is coming to you live at twelve on ninety

- 37:42Speaker 1: And then at twelve o'clock kickoff of Spain in France
- 37:44Speaker 1: in the first of the two World Cup semifinal matches
- 37:46Speaker 1: that will be airing live here on ninety three point
- 37:49Speaker 1: three KJRFM. Seahawk rookies are reporting on Friday to training camp.
- 37:54Speaker 1: A week from Friday, the veterans will report, and then
- 37:57Speaker 1: the twenty fifth is when training camp starts at Virginia
- 38:01Speaker 1: Maates an Athletic Center in Renting. We will be there.
- 38:04Speaker 1: All shows will be there on KGr from the side
- 38:06Speaker 1: of the field outside on the practices that Renten. Starting
- 38:09Speaker 1: on July twenty fifth, General Manager John Schneider in the
- 38:13Speaker 1: Seahawks front office personnel, they've reportedly just blown away after
- 38:17Speaker 1: they were meeting with Venode and Neirou and Neil Cozlee
- 38:21Speaker 1: are the new primary owners of the Seahawks, pending the
- 38:24Speaker 1: NFL's approval in August twenty sixth in a meeting of
- 38:27Speaker 1: team owners to vote on that nine point six billion
- 38:31Speaker 1: dollar deal. Remember, Neil Kozle is likely to be heavily
- 38:36Speaker 1: involved for the longer term because he's in his mid thirties.
- 38:39Speaker 1: His parents are seventy one. So it stands the reason
- 38:43Speaker 1: that the longer term frontman of the ownership team is
- 38:47Speaker 1: going to be the sun Neil. He's a medical AI
- 38:50Speaker 1: entrepreneur right now. The family is heavily into artificial intelligence,
- 38:54Speaker 1: including Venode for a good cause, and they have done
- 38:57Speaker 1: it for philanthropic reasons for access to all in education
- 39:03Speaker 1: K through twelve education. In the case of his wife, Nero,
- 39:05Speaker 1: who's going to be the principal controlling owner according to
- 39:09Speaker 1: the NFL, that means she will technically own at least
- 39:12Speaker 1: thirty percent of the team and maybe up to fifty
- 39:15Speaker 1: percent or more of the nine point six billion dollars.
- 39:20Speaker 1: And who is Neil Kozley. Well, In two thousand and two,
- 39:24Speaker 1: Forbes named him a thirty under thirty nominee Honorey excuse
- 39:28Speaker 1: me for entrepreneurs. As I mentioned, he's in medical AI,
- 39:33Speaker 1: medical assessment using artificial intelligence. He was a intern in
- 39:37Speaker 1: the football staff of the forty nine Ers for a
- 39:39Speaker 1: brief time a few years ago, and he began going
- 39:42Speaker 1: to forty nine Ers games way back in Candlestick Park
- 39:44Speaker 1: about twenty five years ago with his father. They've been
- 39:47Speaker 1: season ticket holders for the forty nine Ers twenty five
- 39:51Speaker 1: plus years now. They owned a three point They currently
- 39:54Speaker 1: still technically own a three point one percent interest in
- 39:56Speaker 1: the forty nine Ers that they will sell before they
- 39:59Speaker 1: become Seahawks owners. Again. I wouldn't get too alarmed about
- 40:02Speaker 1: that piece, because one, they're going to sell it and
- 40:05Speaker 1: no longer be forty nine Ers owners. And two, it
- 40:08Speaker 1: was to get into the club, to get approved by
- 40:12Speaker 1: other owners and the commissioner, Roger Goodell, to get in
- 40:14Speaker 1: the NFL's circle of ownership, and that happened in the
- 40:18Speaker 1: spring of twenty twenty five, and that gave him a
- 40:20Speaker 1: head start and a leg up on this process to
- 40:22Speaker 1: buy an entire franchise, the Super Bowl champion Seahawks. Well,
- 40:28Speaker 1: you asked at the top of the show, and the
- 40:29Speaker 1: come a touch text line four nine, four y five
- 40:31Speaker 1: to one, what would you like to see them change
- 40:33Speaker 1: the owners with everything anything? About the Seahawks, the fan
- 40:37Speaker 1: experience in the stadium.
- 40:39Speaker 2: We have some talkbacks already coming in.
- 40:41Speaker 1: Great yeah, training camp. Anything the grass do you want
- 40:44Speaker 1: to keep a grass field? That's something the owners could affect.
- 40:48Speaker 1: There's already, by the way, an expansion of the team's
- 40:50Speaker 1: Virginia Mason Athletics Center in the works. The team said
- 40:53Speaker 1: filed plans back in the spring with the city of
- 40:55Speaker 1: Renting that it will begin work supposed to beginning work
- 40:59Speaker 1: this summer. Been out to the facility in three or
- 41:02Speaker 1: four weeks since Mini Camp, but that work was supposed
- 41:05Speaker 1: to begin this summer. They're gonna bump out the east
- 41:08Speaker 1: and the west side of the building that's the Lake
- 41:10Speaker 1: Washington side in the I four h five side of
- 41:13Speaker 1: the building and add eighty thousand square feet to the
- 41:17Speaker 1: two hundred square thousand square feet that already exist. And
- 41:21Speaker 1: they're gonna that eighty thousand square feet is going to
- 41:23Speaker 1: be on the sides, and it'll be three stories to
- 41:25Speaker 1: match the three stories that currently exist and house the
- 41:28Speaker 1: executives and the offices and the marketing and whatnot.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Will it affect the breeze that we get during training camp.
- 41:33Speaker 1: No, it's not supposed to encroach on the footprint of
- 41:37Speaker 1: the practice fields.
- 41:37Speaker 2: That's amazing.
- 41:38Speaker 1: The field, the three practice fields that have eagle nests
- 41:41Speaker 1: and trees and lake.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I saw six eagles one time. It
- 41:45Speaker 2: was magical.
- 41:46Speaker 1: The players that have never like rookies and people that
- 41:49Speaker 1: recently acquired all talk about those eagles. Yeah, they just
- 41:52Speaker 1: are really surprised that eagles are just part of the show.
- 41:55Speaker 3: The people come from all different parts of the country
- 41:58Speaker 3: where eagles aren't as right like prevalent as they are
- 42:01Speaker 3: out here. And I grew up in New York, right,
- 42:05Speaker 3: and I'm a burder bird nerd, nature nerd. Everybody knows that,
- 42:08Speaker 3: but I still, having lived out here, at any time
- 42:13Speaker 3: I see one, it just blows me away.
- 42:15Speaker 1: That's pretty majestic. Yeah, it's pretty cool. The talk back.
- 42:19Speaker 1: You can go to the iHeartRadio app or our website
- 42:21Speaker 1: nine through three kji dot com and you find the
- 42:23Speaker 1: red microphone button. We have a couple today on what
- 42:25Speaker 1: they'd like to see the new Seahawks owners do.
- 42:27Speaker 3: And yeah, I'd like that people are passionate about it
- 42:30Speaker 3: and from what's coming in. It has nothing to do
- 42:32Speaker 3: with football, and I love that nobody is criticizing football
- 42:37Speaker 3: from what I've heard so far.
- 42:40Speaker 2: But keep coming in.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Is there any worth playing?
- 42:43Speaker 2: We are, We're going to play them next Okay, yeah,
- 42:47Speaker 2: one of.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Two O six is one of the differences with football.
- 42:49Speaker 1: As the platform is able to support soccer's players running
- 42:53Speaker 1: on me in the field, can it support a ton
- 42:55Speaker 1: of pile of football players lanning on it? And there
- 42:58Speaker 1: are a couple people on the text line mentioning that
- 43:01Speaker 1: they don't think the soccer grass would fit up to
- 43:05Speaker 1: standards of NFL players in their cleats. There have been
- 43:09Speaker 1: when the end when the Seahawks have played overseas, both
- 43:11Speaker 1: in Wembley on the grass against the Raiders in twenty
- 43:14Speaker 1: eighteen and again a couple of years ago in Munich.
- 43:17Speaker 1: In Bayern, Munich stated in the Loons Arena, I was
- 43:20Speaker 1: at both of those games right sitting right on the
- 43:22Speaker 1: field covering it and they were slipping and the grass
- 43:25Speaker 1: was loose and all of that. Yes, but I will
- 43:28Speaker 1: tell you the players would rather have that than turf.
- 43:30Speaker 1: I know they would. And the Players Union has said
- 43:32Speaker 1: that it will come down to whether the Players Union
- 43:35Speaker 1: want to draw a line in the sand and collective bargaining.
- 43:38Speaker 1: It appears or else. No owner is just no. I
- 43:41Speaker 1: shouldn't say no. There are owners who are willing to
- 43:43Speaker 1: spend the money on grass meting. We talked about Pittsburgh
- 43:46Speaker 1: replacing its grass a couple times each season, So there
- 43:49Speaker 1: are owners that are willing to spend the money, but
- 43:52Speaker 1: many owners are not because billionaires become billionaires by keeping
- 43:55Speaker 1: their billions and not spending it, and they want to
- 43:58Speaker 1: have the ability to maximize revenues. Is that aren't NFL
- 44:01Speaker 1: games tractor pools, concerts and bring them in stages and
- 44:06Speaker 1: dirt and without having to ruin the grass and replace it.
- 44:09Speaker 1: That is, in essence the reason you can talk about
- 44:11Speaker 1: the rain here and see that that's not the reason
- 44:13Speaker 1: there is. They can absolutely if they spent money, maintain
- 44:17Speaker 1: and replace grass fields through the rainy season in Seattle.
- 44:20Speaker 1: They just don't want to because they don't have to.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Nobody's telling them they have to, which is why I
- 44:24Speaker 1: believe collective bargaining is the only way for the NFL
- 44:27Speaker 1: players to get what they want with grass.
- 44:30Speaker 3: Let's give a little preview and hopefully we'll get a
- 44:32Speaker 3: few more in once we get to the next segment.
- 44:35Speaker 7: But here, honestly, the only thing that matters to me
- 44:39Speaker 7: is lowering food and beer prices, and then I'll maybe
- 44:43Speaker 7: go to a game. Other than that, new ownerships not
- 44:48Speaker 7: really news or concerning or even interesting to me.
- 44:55Speaker 1: He's not alone. There are a couple of people who
- 44:57Speaker 1: think that on the text line as well, and I've
- 44:59Speaker 1: heard that around town. Three or six os is that
- 45:02Speaker 1: the Falcons can sell cheap food on game days. Arthur Blank,
- 45:04Speaker 1: the home depot baron owns the Falcons. If the Falcons
- 45:08Speaker 1: can sell cheap food on game days, so can we.
- 45:11Speaker 1: For nine point six billion of six dollars, hot dogs
- 45:13Speaker 1: should be more than possible at Lumenfield.
- 45:16Speaker 3: I think that would make it more accessible because, especially
- 45:19Speaker 3: if you're going.
- 45:19Speaker 1: As a family, that the deal on that stuff, the concessions,
- 45:24Speaker 1: the parking, that's that local revenue piece I talked about yesterday.
- 45:28Speaker 1: All NFL teams share the national revenue, the media rights,
- 45:32Speaker 1: the licensing and the media right. I mean it's billions
- 45:34Speaker 1: of dollars.
- 45:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:36Speaker 1: The delta between teams in revenue is in the local revenue.
- 45:40Speaker 1: What you can get out of your stadium naming rights,
- 45:42Speaker 1: what you can get out of concessions, parking, the team
- 45:45Speaker 1: buy and large There are some agreements with cecific municipalities
- 45:48Speaker 1: where there's a split or sharing of it, but buy
- 45:50Speaker 1: and large the team keeps all that. And so when
- 45:54Speaker 1: you have a fifteen dollars hot dog, that the Mariner
- 45:57Speaker 1: and the Mariners for that matter, but any team gets
- 46:00Speaker 1: most of that profit. The hot dog probably costs a
- 46:02Speaker 1: dollar to produce and cook.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Look at Costco they do it right.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Yeah, bring Costco's crew and hot dogs into lumen Field.
- 46:09Speaker 1: But it's those margins, those edges, as Mike mcdonaldould say,
- 46:13Speaker 1: that's where these new owners could have an impact and
- 46:16Speaker 1: how they because they control that local revenue and how
- 46:19Speaker 1: they price things. Another thing is seventy thousand seat stadium
- 46:24Speaker 1: that is one of the benchmarks for hosting a Super Bowl.
- 46:27Speaker 1: It's sixty eight in some change at Lumenfield right now
- 46:30Speaker 1: as the official capacity. We talked yesterday how the open
- 46:34Speaker 1: ends the downtown side with those open ends in the
- 46:36Speaker 1: corners could easily become closed like the south end is,
- 46:40Speaker 1: and that would add a couple thousand seats. If you
- 46:42Speaker 1: put permanent stands from well just above field level at
- 46:46Speaker 1: that plaza up to the top of the Hawk's nest,
- 46:48Speaker 1: you would have a couple thousand seats there to get
- 46:50Speaker 1: to seventy.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Thousand, would we want a Super Bowl?
- 46:52Speaker 1: Well, then there's other issues. The NFL requires they require
- 46:56Speaker 1: thirty five thousand parking spaces within a mile the stadium fronts.
- 47:00Speaker 1: We don't have that in Seattle, which is kind of
- 47:02Speaker 1: odd because you can't drive it to a Super Bowl anymore.
- 47:05Speaker 1: By and large. You have to park way off you
- 47:06Speaker 1: and I experienced that in San Francisco. You have to
- 47:09Speaker 1: take a bus and then take five hours.
- 47:11Speaker 2: So glad you were my ride and die that day.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Let's go it is gone. Or the days you just
- 47:17Speaker 1: pull up, get out of your car and walk into
- 47:19Speaker 1: the stadium. Nine to eleven did that. But then there's
- 47:23Speaker 1: hotel rooms. You're supposed to have thirty five percent of
- 47:26Speaker 1: the stadium's capacity available in hotel rooms within an hour's
- 47:29Speaker 1: drive of the stadium. That would for us would be Everett, Tacoma,
- 47:33Speaker 1: and Seattle an hour's drive maybe at midnight, but that
- 47:37Speaker 1: would be What the NFL would also use is the
- 47:39Speaker 1: number of hotel rooms, and that in the past has
- 47:41Speaker 1: been an impediment to things like the Army Navy game.
- 47:43Speaker 1: Every time I go back to the Army Navy game,
- 47:45Speaker 1: I said when are you gonna have it in Seattle?
- 47:47Speaker 1: And they say, well, worry about the hotel rooms and
- 47:48Speaker 1: we'll worry about the cost of traveling the core Cadet
- 47:50Speaker 1: and the brigade of midshipmen.
- 47:52Speaker 2: So that's a huge thing.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Yeah, not an insignificant thing either. Up next, Aaron Donald
- 47:59Speaker 1: ram Back. He's thirty five you hit from Steve Wish,
- 48:03Speaker 1: our friend from NFL Network, talking about that eleven thirty
- 48:06Speaker 1: the World Cup pregame show before the semifinals between Spain
- 48:09Speaker 1: and France live right here in your era on ninety
- 48:12Speaker 1: three point three KJRFM. Welcome back, Greg bel Jasin McIntyre
- 48:40Speaker 1: with you on ninety three point three KJRFM. A truncated
- 48:43Speaker 1: show today for this Tuesday, because at the bottom of
- 48:45Speaker 1: the hour eleven thirty the iHeart National Radio pregame show
- 48:49Speaker 1: the World Cup Semifinals, Anderson Hurst and Danny Jackson'll haved
- 48:53Speaker 1: be live in the studio next to us on your
- 48:55Speaker 1: air here on ninety three point three KJRFM and eleven
- 48:58Speaker 1: thirty for the pregame and then noon kickoff here on
- 49:00Speaker 1: the station and across the iHeartRadio app and our website.
- 49:04Speaker 1: Spain and France live the only place you can hear
- 49:08Speaker 1: it on the radio over the Seattle market is on
- 49:10Speaker 1: ninety three point three kjrf M. You may have heard
- 49:14Speaker 1: the Rams are Super Bowl favorites, even though the Seahawks
- 49:18Speaker 1: won the Super Bowl and beat the Rams twice.
- 49:20Speaker 2: Don't let and here, don't let him in here.
- 49:23Speaker 1: The Seahawks themselves have noticed that. Leonard Williams was talking
- 49:26Speaker 1: during the mini camp last month about yeah, yeah, we
- 49:29Speaker 1: see it, and it's kind of odd that we're the
- 49:31Speaker 1: Super Bowl champions that we're not even favorites of our
- 49:33Speaker 1: own division. Well, the reason for that, of course, is
- 49:36Speaker 1: what the Rams have done this offseason. They've shored up
- 49:38Speaker 1: the most troublesome spot on a team, their secondary, including
- 49:42Speaker 1: they got two new starters they signed, including All Pro
- 49:44Speaker 1: cornerback Trent McDuffie. They gave a thirty one million dollar
- 49:47Speaker 1: contract to after they traded with the Chiefs to get
- 49:49Speaker 1: them thirty one million a year. That's the contract that
- 49:53Speaker 1: Devin Witherspoon's agents are eyeing, and he's probably going to
- 49:55Speaker 1: approach or eclipse that here in the next coming weeks.
- 49:58Speaker 1: I expect that deal to be done on about the
- 50:01Speaker 1: first few days of training camp, plus or minus July
- 50:03Speaker 1: twenty fifth, But then they also traded for Miles Garrett
- 50:07Speaker 1: the Rams. Did you were about to say, Jessmin.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Oh, I was gonna say, go kooks, because I thought
- 50:11Speaker 2: you were going to talk about Jalen Watson.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Jalon Watson is the other big corner acquisition for the Rams.
- 50:16Speaker 1: Go Cooks. And now we have to talk about Jalen
- 50:18Speaker 1: Watson a lot more in the show now that Jessmin's
- 50:20Speaker 1: with me. Yes, So Jalen Watson and McDuffie are fixing
- 50:23Speaker 1: their biggest problem spot in the secondary. And then Miles
- 50:25Speaker 1: Garrett traded from Cleveland to the Rams. Of course we
- 50:28Speaker 1: know that deal they got, Well, they lost Jared Vers
- 50:32Speaker 1: to do it, and the Seahawks coaches I've talked about
- 50:34Speaker 1: how much they planned and game planned against Jared Verse
- 50:36Speaker 1: when he was here with the Rams first couple of
- 50:38Speaker 1: years of his career. But now could Aaron Donald be
- 50:41Speaker 1: joining Miles Garrett? Remember I told you TMZ is involved
- 50:44Speaker 1: in this. TMZ got a hold of footage, as they
- 50:48Speaker 1: often do, from something they pay people e That's how
- 50:51Speaker 1: their journalism if you call it in journalism and air.
- 50:54Speaker 2: Quotes for the YouTube pit, it's not and they know
- 50:56Speaker 2: it's not, and they just lean into it.
- 50:57Speaker 6: They do.
- 50:58Speaker 1: They paid somebody to provide video, like a schmo that
- 51:03Speaker 1: lives across the sturt down the street from the RAMS
- 51:06Speaker 1: facility in Wooden Hills, southern California, to peer over the
- 51:10Speaker 1: fence and shoot some iPhone video over the top of
- 51:13Speaker 1: the fence of Aaron Donald working out on the field
- 51:16Speaker 1: in pads, working out, grinding, as TMZ put it, working
- 51:20Speaker 1: out till he was gassed.
- 51:22Speaker 2: Yah, oh my gosh, working out does that to you?
- 51:24Speaker 2: What a hot take? But it was not just in
- 51:27Speaker 2: the training room yet it Yeah, I just don't like them.
- 51:30Speaker 1: Yeah, and journalists in fact don't because that's just not
- 51:33Speaker 1: the way you're supposed to do journalism. But the news
- 51:36Speaker 1: coming out that Aaron Donald was at the facility and
- 51:39Speaker 1: knowing more than just lifting weights, and it was on
- 51:41Speaker 1: the field in pads working out, I mean, like trying
- 51:43Speaker 1: to see if we're gonna give this a go. Remember
- 51:46Speaker 1: the All World DEFENSEI attacker retired after the twenty twenty
- 51:48Speaker 1: three season. He just turned thirty five in late May.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Our buddy Steve White from an NFL network based in
- 51:54Speaker 1: Los Angeles, he's noticing this too.
- 51:57Speaker 8: Well and he wasn't just lifting weights, right, he was
- 51:59Speaker 8: out there doing drills, some with pads on, checking out
- 52:03Speaker 8: the conditioning, seeing how his body felt. Things like that
- 52:05Speaker 8: is different than just lifting weights. Aaron donalds been lifting weights.
- 52:08Speaker 1: He's ten years old.
- 52:09Speaker 8: He's probably gonna lift until he one hundred and ten
- 52:10Speaker 8: years old because that's just how he's built. But the
- 52:12Speaker 8: fact that now he's kind of doing some football related
- 52:14Speaker 8: drills shows you some of the thought process that he
- 52:18Speaker 8: might be going through.
- 52:19Speaker 3: That.
- 52:19Speaker 8: Again, that's different than he's showing up with the facility
- 52:22Speaker 8: and working out. Now we know all this conversation started
- 52:24Speaker 8: when the Rams acquired Miles Garrett to add Aaron Donald
- 52:28Speaker 8: to that defensive line that's already got Braydon fitz k
- 52:31Speaker 8: and Kobe Turner a lot of other good players right there.
- 52:33Speaker 8: So he could be rotational and speaking with somebody with
- 52:35Speaker 8: the Rams earlier this summer. The one thing that I'd
- 52:37Speaker 8: be intriguing because they would love to have him back.
- 52:39Speaker 8: They have to work out a contract that's friendly enough
- 52:42Speaker 8: for them to get Pooka and the kupa done and
- 52:44Speaker 8: things like that.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Is Aaron Donald's weight.
- 52:46Speaker 8: Remember, he plays defensive tackle, and if he's around two
- 52:49Speaker 8: sixty two to sixty five. He might have to put
- 52:52Speaker 8: on a few more pounds, but they're not worried about
- 52:54Speaker 8: that too, because Aaron Donald Mike could be more of
- 52:56Speaker 8: a rotational player than someone who's out there for eighty
- 52:58Speaker 8: percent of the snaps.
- 53:01Speaker 1: That's Steve Wisch from NFL Network, a long time friend
- 53:03Speaker 1: of mine and colleague on the West Coast, cover again
- 53:06Speaker 1: the NFL about Aaron Donald.
- 53:08Speaker 3: He and Omar Ruiz are two that actually showed up here,
- 53:12Speaker 3: and you know there would be national people that would
- 53:14Speaker 3: dip in and out and then try to know everything.
- 53:17Speaker 2: Steve is a gem and he knows the Seahawks.
- 53:20Speaker 1: Yes he does, and Omar does as well. Omar and
- 53:22Speaker 1: I have been covering the Seahawks. He comes quite a
- 53:24Speaker 1: bit to the Seahawks headquarters in renting for practice, not
- 53:28Speaker 1: just for games. The other thing to consider, it's a
- 53:31Speaker 1: minor consideration. I believe I don't know Aaron Donald personally,
- 53:35Speaker 1: but his Hall of Fame clock would start over if
- 53:37Speaker 1: he does retire. He's three years into a five year
- 53:39Speaker 1: wait before you're eligible for Hall of Fame eligibility. Now
- 53:42Speaker 1: he's only thirty five years old, but he's more than
- 53:44Speaker 1: halfway there, So if it comes to that he'd have
- 53:48Speaker 1: to go, that would start over. I don't know. Again,
- 53:51Speaker 1: I don't know Aaron Donald personally and I haven't talked
- 53:53Speaker 1: to him or interviewed him about that aspect of it.
- 53:56Speaker 1: But Steve, which is right. It wouldn't be a primary
- 54:00Speaker 1: seventy snaps a game roll. He'd be coming back for
- 54:03Speaker 1: a rotational role in the defense, especially with Miles Garrett there. Anyway,
- 54:09Speaker 1: that's part of the reason the Rams are getting them
- 54:11Speaker 1: even more attention as we get into training camp. When
- 54:13Speaker 1: you got TMZ paying dudes to shoot videos over the fence.
- 54:17Speaker 1: Had Aaron Donald on the practice field, okay, they could
- 54:20Speaker 1: do that at the Seahawks if somebody walked up on
- 54:23Speaker 1: the berm or the top of the.
- 54:24Speaker 2: They could jet ski Man did that too.
- 54:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 54:26Speaker 3: I saw Richard Sherman do that. He punked all the
- 54:28Speaker 3: rookies during camp and he showed up on a jet ski.
- 54:32Speaker 1: Those bushes and trees at the edge of the practice
- 54:34Speaker 1: field at the Seahawks facility used to be tiny shrubs
- 54:36Speaker 1: when they first moved in there, and you could easily
- 54:39Speaker 1: see it from.
- 54:39Speaker 2: The They were long growing privacy shrubs.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Now yeah, now, they are full on trees that you
- 54:45Speaker 1: can't really see as much. You can just see in
- 54:47Speaker 1: one corner of the field from the lake where people
- 54:50Speaker 1: still pull up.
- 54:51Speaker 3: They might have an osprey nest. And the nickname for
- 54:54Speaker 3: an osprey is a seahawk.
- 54:58Speaker 1: I didn't know that.
- 54:59Speaker 3: Well, okay, you learned bird news with me every single day,
- 55:04Speaker 3: lot of bird news with you.
- 55:05Speaker 2: Yeah, there's no actual bird that is named a seahawk.
- 55:08Speaker 3: But and even though the logo looks more like an
- 55:11Speaker 3: eagle because of the cur whatever I can get into it,
- 55:15Speaker 3: the nickname for a an osprey has always been a
- 55:18Speaker 3: seahawk because they are seagoing birds.
- 55:21Speaker 1: I had no idea of that. Thank you. I'm so sorry.
- 55:25Speaker 1: So Blitz is an osprey a walking to osprey.
- 55:28Speaker 3: Well, technically he's a seahawk because he's adopted into whatever
- 55:32Speaker 3: they made that into because the logo and everything that
- 55:36Speaker 3: they do is not osprey looking.
- 55:38Speaker 2: It's more eagle looking.
- 55:40Speaker 1: So that the bird that takes off at the start
- 55:42Speaker 1: of the every game is an ospry.
- 55:44Speaker 3: That's an auger hawk. Actually, beleep, I asked, and I
- 55:48Speaker 3: know it's an auger hawk.
- 55:51Speaker 1: Damn jes, I didn't know any of this I've covered
- 55:53Speaker 1: a team for twenty years. I didn't know any of this.
- 55:56Speaker 2: I don't know if it's still the same one. I
- 55:58Speaker 2: believe its name is yeah, yeah, but yes, no, that's
- 56:03Speaker 2: an Auger Hawk. The second I got out here, I asked, Wow,
- 56:08Speaker 2: that was just curious things that make you go, Yeah,
- 56:11Speaker 2: that definitely.
- 56:12Speaker 3: Let's get to a couple more texts, by the way,
- 56:15Speaker 3: or I'm sorry, talkbacks, because a couple of them relate
- 56:18Speaker 3: to the question that you had asked earlier.
- 56:22Speaker 1: Where you go, what do you want to see the rag?
- 56:28Speaker 5: Greg Hey, Jasmine, mac and Dyre. Yes, what we want
- 56:33Speaker 5: to see from the new Seahawks owner?
- 56:36Speaker 1: Nothing?
- 56:37Speaker 5: Just write checks, stay in the background, do what you
- 56:41Speaker 5: gotta do to make it a comfortable experience, maybe even
- 56:46Speaker 5: lower ticket prices. I mean, how much more richer.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Do you need to be? That's what I would like
- 56:52Speaker 1: to see. And maybe maybe, just maybe.
- 56:56Speaker 2: I think you've ran out of time, but we get
- 56:58Speaker 2: this point.
- 56:59Speaker 1: Wow, we run a cliff there. Just maybe what.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Maybe we can fill in the blank, maybe just maybe, Yeah,
- 57:10Speaker 2: I'd like the inference to do nothing.
- 57:14Speaker 1: Yes, football wise, absolutely.
- 57:16Speaker 3: Maybe that's exactly get us a little better prices on food,
- 57:19Speaker 3: maybe some in my mind, maybe some more family friendly packages.
- 57:26Speaker 3: I don't think they need to pack the stadium anymore
- 57:29Speaker 3: because obviously people are coming in droves, but make it
- 57:33Speaker 3: a little more accessible to like a family of four.
- 57:36Speaker 2: Wing pricing two family packages.
- 57:40Speaker 3: You know, it costs one thousand dollars at the end
- 57:42Speaker 3: of the day if you bring a family of four
- 57:44Speaker 3: or five to a game, and five is hard and
- 57:46Speaker 3: odd numbers hard too.
- 57:47Speaker 1: They'd have to resell the tickets that already sold. That's
- 57:51Speaker 1: the thing about the Seahawks that they've been waiting us
- 57:52Speaker 1: for their season tickets.
- 57:53Speaker 2: So it's just season tickets. I'm talking about packages that
- 57:56Speaker 2: people can.
- 57:57Speaker 1: But they leave they they have so many singles, so
- 57:59Speaker 1: few i should say single game tickets available because of
- 58:02Speaker 1: their high ticket season ticket based and then you go
- 58:06Speaker 1: into the secondary market and all of that.
- 58:09Speaker 3: We've seen what the Mariners have done with the outside
- 58:12Speaker 3: the stadium experience, yes, where they have brought up some
- 58:14Speaker 3: properties and.
- 58:17Speaker 2: You can be there and maybe big screens, maybe watch
- 58:21Speaker 2: the game.
- 58:21Speaker 3: It's almost like if it was an away game and
- 58:24Speaker 3: you're watching there, but you're all you're experiencing it. Because
- 58:28Speaker 3: I have watched games outside that stadium and heard everything
- 58:32Speaker 3: that was going on from the fan perspective and then
- 58:35Speaker 3: watched it on the screen and it's not the same.
- 58:38Speaker 2: But maybe there's some things they could do like that.
- 58:40Speaker 1: I'm in the stadium. But is it true that there
- 58:42Speaker 1: are games broadcast inside T Mobile Park Seahawk games. Oh,
- 58:47Speaker 1: I don't know that, but I see people going in
- 58:50Speaker 1: there when I'm going in at eleven am on a
- 58:52Speaker 1: game day, a Sea Hockey Sunday.
- 58:54Speaker 2: They have done that, but I think it's playoffs. I
- 58:56Speaker 2: think it's postseason or clinching games. They have done that.
- 59:01Speaker 3: I know they do, and they have during playoffs and
- 59:05Speaker 3: maybe even the Super Bowl. They do viewing parties. They
- 59:08Speaker 3: did it on their magnificent.
- 59:12Speaker 2: What do you call that. It's not a jumbo tron,
- 59:14Speaker 2: diamond vision or whatever.
- 59:15Speaker 1: They call it.
- 59:16Speaker 2: The big scoreboard, Yes, the big the big scoreboard. Hold on,
- 59:19Speaker 2: we have one more.
- 59:20Speaker 9: Well, good morning, gregan Es, big Carroll, you you know.
- 59:24Speaker 9: And so I just want to touch basin. Let you
- 59:27Speaker 9: guys know, I'm still in the area from time to time,
- 59:29Speaker 9: and I still got the juice, so you know, I
- 59:32Speaker 9: can get with the kids, you know, teach them a
- 59:34Speaker 9: few things or two. And I'm really into Philanthrope P.
- 59:36Speaker 1: Two.
- 59:37Speaker 9: So I got a lot in common with the new owners.
- 59:40Speaker 9: And if you're either of you, they're in that building
- 59:43Speaker 9: over there at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center, my old home,
- 59:46Speaker 9: my old office. You let them know, but as always,
- 59:49Speaker 9: go Haks.
- 59:51Speaker 1: Miss Thanks Pete. I think Pete's on the north shore
- 59:55Speaker 1: of o Wahu right now. Actually, do the Rams have
- 59:58Speaker 1: a different CAT number than other teams? The four two?
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: Remember we talked when they signed, when they traded for
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Miles Garrett, how tradable that contract was because of the
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: very low base salaries here the next couple of years.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Now it gets back voted and comes a cropper here
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: in a couple of years. But for now, that's a
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: very very low base salary that counts towards the salary cap.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: And then if Aaron Donald were to come back and sign,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: you would figure he would take something not that expensive
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: because of his loyalty to the Rams and the fact
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: of course he doesn't need any more money. But he
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: wouldn't make it cap problem for the Rams. I wouldn't
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: think or else this wouldn't even be an option. I'm
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: sure he's already given them a number in mind, Fortuo
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: VISs Costco lose his money on the food court Androtisserie Chicken.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: They are meant to get you in the store to
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: buy more stuff. About the hot dogs Costco prices.
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Yeah, well obviously they know what they're doing.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: For to five, I asked for one thing and one
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: thing only from the new owners to fix never ever
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: ever use those god awful lime green uniforms ever again.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: Oh gosh, isn't it a rave? And then they change
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: it to nuclear dazzo?
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: Green is what it is? The Flintstones. Yeah, let's get
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: rid of those. You remember Gazoo from the Flintstones. That's
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: what colored that is.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Yes, I do, but yeah, it didn't occur to me
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: until right now.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: That's what it reminds me of. I have to wear
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: sunglasses and night games inside Luminfield to watch the game.
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: When they wear in those uniforms, they're hideous. I totally
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: get those more retro uniform games of four two five
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: says that's an NFL issue. They limit the number of
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: retro uniform games you can have each season to try
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: to limit or create the demand.
- 1:01:38Speaker 3: I should say we do have some corrections, I guess,
- 1:01:41Speaker 3: but an update that it is very awesome at T Mobile.
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: How do you guys not know about this?
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: Because I'm in the stadium covering the Seahawks.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: I'm traveling back from koops games most of the.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Time and trying twenty years at games, I don't know
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: what happens.
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: But anyway, I'm looking at this and I guess according
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: to the text line that it's every home game and
- 1:02:05Speaker 3: they only charge a buck to get in.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: But the Mariners do that, So yeah.
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: That Mariners take at T Mobile and so every home
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: game you can just go across the street. I knew
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: that a couple different times when I was cross pollinating
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: covering Mariners and Seahawks and I was going to park
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: in one garage and I was like, I don't know
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: what works here, what game is it? So I didn't
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: know that they did it for every home game. That
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: thank you, thank you from the two five, three.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: Two six. What will US Soccer the US soccer team
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: be doing for the next three years beside the World
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Cup in twenty thirty, I assume one year will be
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: the Olympics. What about the other two? Well, actually, the
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: qualifying for the twenty thirty World Cup begins next year
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: and they have international windows of breaks from the clubs
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: that they go play regional games to start its concer
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: caf here in this part of the world, and you
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: have to go through qualifying rounds. That's where the US
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: in twenty seventeen lost to Trinidad and Tobago down in
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: Trinidad and they didn't make the World Cup because of it.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: But you got to win those before you can advance.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: It's not automatic, so it's just not The US still
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: has to win through their qualifying matches to qualify for
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: the twenty world thirty World Cup in Morocco, Spain, Portugal,
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: Uruguay and a bunch of other countries commenoratively.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: I just think that it's insane how quickly the qualifiers start.
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: It is.
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it's spread out over multiple years, that's right, and
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: then there's possible playoffs and yeah, it takes a while.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: Up next to your radio, we are the only outlet
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: here in the Seattle and in the Pacific Northwest that
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: has World Cup on the radio. It's France and Spain
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: in the first World Cup semifinal from Arlington, Texas. That's
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: a noon kickoff and coming up next in pregame show
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: right here on ninety three point three kjr FM,
