- 0:00Speaker 1: And now move the sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
- 0:07Speaker 2: What's up, everybody?
- 0:07Speaker 1: Welcome to move the six DJ, Bucky Rhett back with
- 0:10Speaker 1: you today. We have We've got a lot to get to,
- 0:14Speaker 1: including a Monday Night game and some trade deadline stuff,
- 0:16Speaker 1: which buck leads me to the question if you could
- 0:19Speaker 1: trade Rhett? Would you trade him? Or are we going
- 0:23Speaker 1: to keep him and continue to try and build on
- 0:24Speaker 1: what we're doing here with the pod.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Oh so look, I'm a deveild, a middle guest, so
- 0:27Speaker 3: I believe in keeping and developing. I believe like we
- 0:30Speaker 3: can take him where he is and trying to find
- 0:31Speaker 3: a way to put him in his best light.
- 0:33Speaker 4: So yeah, we'll keep him. We'll hold on to him.
- 0:34Speaker 4: We won't let him go else, but we'll continue to
- 0:36Speaker 4: try and salvage what we can get from Reht.
- 0:38Speaker 5: I'm told that I have an untradable contract, so no
- 0:45Speaker 5: trade clause.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Boys, Sorry, he's not going anywhere. Rhet's sticking around. All right,
- 0:51Speaker 1: let's jump into this. It's time for Monday Night recap.
- 0:54Speaker 1: What's kind of a surprising game, I would say with
- 0:55Speaker 1: the Minnesota Vikings, even though they were at home, and
- 0:57Speaker 1: even though the forty nine ers with without Debos Samuel
- 1:00Speaker 1: a game at the Minnesota Vikings kind of controlled throughout.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I guess let's start on the Viking side of things here,
- 1:07Speaker 1: Buck just biggest takeaways on a night where Kirk Cousins
- 1:10Speaker 1: played pretty darn well, Kirk Cousins.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Jordan Addison showed up and showed up in a big way.
- 1:15Speaker 3: I felt like Kevin O'Connor was in his bag from
- 1:17Speaker 3: the beginning of the game, did a really good job
- 1:19Speaker 3: of creating opportunities for Jordan Addison to utilize the route
- 1:22Speaker 3: running and stuff that we talked about when we evaluated
- 1:25Speaker 3: him coming out of USC.
- 1:27Speaker 4: And it's another confirmation that.
- 1:29Speaker 3: When you're evaluating wide receivers, go for the guys that
- 1:31Speaker 3: are the craftsman, the skill guys, the guys that understand
- 1:34Speaker 3: how to get open. Because what he was able to
- 1:37Speaker 3: do on Monday night really displayed all the things that
- 1:41Speaker 3: you want to see from a high end receiver over
- 1:44Speaker 3: and over and over again. He worked and got open
- 1:46Speaker 3: and Kirk Cousin found him and it looked easy. I
- 1:48Speaker 3: can only imagine what this team made look like down
- 1:51Speaker 3: to stretch when Justin Jefferson comes back and Jordan Addison
- 1:55Speaker 3: is able to kind of take this momentum that he's
- 1:57Speaker 3: created and build upon that confidence the beginning to show
- 2:00Speaker 3: up in his play.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Yeah, and I love the competitiveness that we saw from him.
- 2:05Speaker 5: Obviously got kind of out muscled in a tough, kind
- 2:08Speaker 5: of contested catch scenario with Tarvarius Ward on one play
- 2:11Speaker 5: and then bounce right back and ripped the ball away
- 2:14Speaker 5: from Ward and then went in for the score. So
- 2:16Speaker 5: I thought that was pretty cool. And I guess I
- 2:18Speaker 5: don't mean to spoil our next segment coming up here,
- 2:21Speaker 5: but I think we can temper down the trade talk
- 2:24Speaker 5: of all the Vikings players right now. With the way
- 2:26Speaker 5: that they've played the last couple of weeks, it feels
- 2:29Speaker 5: like they've they've got something that they can try to
- 2:31Speaker 5: build on here moving forward. I would look at this
- 2:33Speaker 5: from the defensive side, DJ and then kick it over
- 2:35Speaker 5: to you, because I know that you've had a chance
- 2:37Speaker 5: to see this Brian Flores Vikings defense as they played
- 2:41Speaker 5: the Chargers a couple of weeks ago. It just felt
- 2:44Speaker 5: like they were going to, you know, sell out against
- 2:46Speaker 5: the run, right and they were going to do everything
- 2:48Speaker 5: they could to kind of shut down that outside zone.
- 2:51Speaker 5: From the Niners and keep k Christian McCaffrey under wraps
- 2:55Speaker 5: for most of the game. And they do that. They
- 2:57Speaker 5: brought in the Beef right, you know, essentially played with
- 2:59Speaker 5: five downland lineman. You and I were kind of talking,
- 3:02Speaker 5: and then you know, had Jordan Hicks and then brought
- 3:03Speaker 5: you know, their nickel back in as kind of a
- 3:05Speaker 5: linebacker role there too, And so you know, they wanted
- 3:08Speaker 5: to occupy those offensive linemen of the forty nine ers
- 3:11Speaker 5: and just make things difficult for McCaffrey to find some
- 3:13Speaker 5: of those those seams and those gaps as he's kind
- 3:17Speaker 5: of stretching things out wide. So I just thought that
- 3:19Speaker 5: that game plan ended up working out really well. I think,
- 3:22Speaker 5: especially DJ against the team without Deebo Samuel on this night.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Yeah, no, debau.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Let it look, the Vikings without Justin Jefferson is the
- 3:30Speaker 1: biggest loss of anybody that wasn't playing in this game.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So for them to still get that win is huge.
- 3:35Speaker 1: But to go back to your point on the way
- 3:36Speaker 1: they were playing with Brian Flores, I saw it, you
- 3:38Speaker 1: know in the Charger game and there in person where
- 3:41Speaker 1: Keenan Allen had a zillion catches in that ball game,
- 3:44Speaker 1: because that's the way that it looks like a punt rush.
- 3:47Speaker 1: When they get up to the line of scrimmage, they
- 3:49Speaker 1: are going to not only use that to try and
- 3:51Speaker 1: eliminate the run to scourage you from running the ball,
- 3:53Speaker 1: but also I you know, look, they have one big
- 3:55Speaker 1: time rusher and Damil Hunter, but I don't think they
- 3:58Speaker 1: love their rush group that they have have. So they
- 4:01Speaker 1: win with numbers and they play aggressive, and they're going
- 4:03Speaker 1: to come after you down after down after down. They're
- 4:05Speaker 1: going to try and speed the quarterback up. And watching
- 4:08Speaker 1: this game, you know, look, I thought perty played okay.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I didn't think it was a terrible game for him.
- 4:12Speaker 1: When you go through it, he has the two picks.
- 4:14Speaker 1: One almost looked like a little miscommunication on a dig
- 4:17Speaker 1: route with Jennings, and then the other one was late,
- 4:21Speaker 1: but he.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Completed a lot of balls.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I was just looking at this going, okay, do they
- 4:25Speaker 1: have somebody that can make you pay for playing this style?
- 4:29Speaker 1: Like Keenan Allen with the Chargers. He was able to
- 4:31Speaker 1: make them pay for playing that way. You know, as
- 4:34Speaker 1: good as all their skill guys are. Buck, I almost
- 4:37Speaker 1: wonder if at the deadline and we'll get to trades,
- 4:39Speaker 1: here in a little bit in this next segment, But
- 4:41Speaker 1: it almost feels like, man, they're missing somebody that could
- 4:43Speaker 1: really make you pay for playing like that, whether it's
- 4:45Speaker 1: just an over the top, big time speed guy or
- 4:48Speaker 1: what have you. I mean, the hit McCaffrey out and
- 4:49Speaker 1: that was the jail break, and he got out and
- 4:51Speaker 1: was gone. But they've got to find a way to
- 4:53Speaker 1: make people pay for playing that aggressive with their front.
- 4:57Speaker 3: For all the things I love about the forty nine
- 4:59Speaker 3: Ers offense, offense that is more dependent upon the play
- 5:02Speaker 3: caller more so than the playmakers. Meaning a lot of
- 5:06Speaker 3: the stuff that they do in the passing game is
- 5:07Speaker 3: Kyle Shanahan's creativity and his genius that creates those big plays.
- 5:13Speaker 3: But what they don't have is what we saw on
- 5:15Speaker 3: the other side of Jordan Addison, like a pure route runner.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Deebo Samuel brandan Ayuk are great catch and run playmakers,
- 5:22Speaker 3: but they're not necessarily the guys that you line up
- 5:24Speaker 3: on the backside and say a run these exotic routes
- 5:27Speaker 3: to create space and separation. They are missing that difference maker,
- 5:31Speaker 3: that vertical threat, that guy that can give you the
- 5:33Speaker 3: home run ball that can keep the defense from creeping up.
- 5:37Speaker 3: It's something that they certainly should explore at the trade
- 5:39Speaker 3: deadline because we saw in this game, man, they made
- 5:43Speaker 3: them play half court basketball and they could not move
- 5:45Speaker 3: the ball down the field consistently throughout the game.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Yeah, and just kind of getting back to the point
- 5:51Speaker 5: on you know, being without Deebo, I wonder if that
- 5:53Speaker 5: affect their personnel groupings, you know, in this matchup, because
- 5:56Speaker 5: you know, they do run some eleven personnel, right, twenty
- 5:59Speaker 5: one and eleven are kind of the way in which
- 6:00Speaker 5: they operate, and then we only saw about eleven snaps
- 6:04Speaker 5: of eleven personnel in this game, only ran it out
- 6:06Speaker 5: of that three times. I thought that maybe it might
- 6:08Speaker 5: help kind of loosen up the way that you know,
- 6:10Speaker 5: the Vikings were trying to play him with so many
- 6:12Speaker 5: big guys up front. If you could bring in, you
- 6:14Speaker 5: know and start to convert a little bit, you know,
- 6:16Speaker 5: using eleven, kind of lighting up the box a little bit,
- 6:19Speaker 5: then maybe try to find a way to run it
- 6:20Speaker 5: that way. Just didn't didn't end up working working the
- 6:24Speaker 5: way that they wanted to execute it against his Vikings defense.
- 6:27Speaker 5: But yeah, I'm kind of with you on that, you know,
- 6:29Speaker 5: I you know, the way that the forty nine Ers
- 6:32Speaker 5: have had to operate depth wise that wide received in
- 6:34Speaker 5: the last couple of years, whether it's Auk that's been
- 6:36Speaker 5: nicked up or Deebo. Samuel does kind of feel like
- 6:38Speaker 5: maybe they could use an extra body in there, and
- 6:41Speaker 5: and then certainly one that can exercise some speed down
- 6:44Speaker 5: the field too. So maybe that's something we'll get into
- 6:46Speaker 5: here when we start talking trades.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll get to the trades just a moment. I
- 6:50Speaker 1: do want to swing back to the Vikings. One thing
- 6:52Speaker 1: I wanted to mention as well. You talked about Cousins.
- 6:54Speaker 1: I don't want to sell him short on how well
- 6:56Speaker 1: he's played. Obviously, you know, I don't see he's He's
- 6:59Speaker 1: not going anywhere at the deadline, and I'd be surprised
- 7:01Speaker 1: if he goes anywhere in the offseason. Minnesota is not
- 7:03Speaker 1: going to find a better player than him at that
- 7:04Speaker 1: position at this time. They're just not He's playing like
- 7:07Speaker 1: a top ten guy. And when you look at his
- 7:09Speaker 1: offense now, when you saw it last night against that
- 7:11Speaker 1: forty nine Ers front, Darisaw is a really good young
- 7:14Speaker 1: left tackle. O'Neil is a really good right tackle. He's
- 7:17Speaker 1: twenty eight years old, You've make that trade for Hockinson,
- 7:21Speaker 1: He's a top five tight end in this league. You've
- 7:23Speaker 1: got Jefferson's the premier wide out. Now it looks like
- 7:26Speaker 1: Jordan Addison is a two plus. You know, he could
- 7:29Speaker 1: be a you know, one of the best twos in
- 7:30Speaker 1: the league. And he's probably a one for some teams.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Like they have the makings of a really, really good offense.
- 7:35Speaker 1: And we always say, Buck, get it to you on
- 7:38Speaker 1: this one. But we've always talked about the running back
- 7:40Speaker 1: position and we've said, you know, it's not a simple
- 7:43Speaker 1: answer in terms of what you invest in that position.
- 7:45Speaker 1: It's not the same for every team. Believe, if you
- 7:47Speaker 1: have a constructed team that's ready to win right now
- 7:50Speaker 1: at that point in time, if you want to drop
- 7:51Speaker 1: a running back in we're all four or five of
- 7:54Speaker 1: those premier years to start his career meaningful, then go
- 7:57Speaker 1: ahead and do it. That's why to me, I think
- 8:00Speaker 1: this Vikings team's ready that offense. You drop a premier
- 8:02Speaker 1: back and there I think they're twenty I think they're
- 8:05Speaker 1: twenty ninth in rushing or twenty eighth and rushing in
- 8:07Speaker 1: the league.
- 8:07Speaker 2: They're only averaging.
- 8:08Speaker 5: Didn't they have one?
- 8:09Speaker 2: Not much, didn't they Well, but you watched Dalvin with
- 8:15Speaker 2: the Jets. He's not that guy.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I was thinking, I mean they kind of had one,
- 8:19Speaker 3: but no. But but you're right, and that's why they
- 8:21Speaker 3: went out and tried to get cam Akers. They're trying
- 8:23Speaker 3: to find someone that can do it. Madison played better
- 8:26Speaker 3: last night, but he still doesn't have the juice. But
- 8:28Speaker 3: if you put a legitimate five star running back behind
- 8:31Speaker 3: this team with what they have on the perimeter, yeah,
- 8:34Speaker 3: it gives opponents problems. When I think about the Vikings
- 8:38Speaker 3: and I think about where they're going, they've lost four
- 8:40Speaker 3: to one score games last year.
- 8:42Speaker 4: All those things went in their favor. They're not far off.
- 8:45Speaker 3: The one thing that I will say about this because
- 8:47Speaker 3: talking to Vikings officials in the summertime when we went
- 8:51Speaker 3: up for training camp, they talked about how last year
- 8:54Speaker 3: the Niners came up and beat them up, and so
- 8:56Speaker 3: this was a test of their physicality and toughness.
- 8:59Speaker 4: There's no doubt in my mind.
- 9:00Speaker 3: That Brian Floyd's presence his arrival has changed some of
- 9:04Speaker 3: the tenor in terms of how the Vikings play. They
- 9:07Speaker 3: may have taken a step back early this year, but
- 9:10Speaker 3: keep an eye on them. This team may be one
- 9:12Speaker 3: of the teams that kind of sneaks in the back
- 9:13Speaker 3: door in the postseason because they're playing good defense and
- 9:16Speaker 3: they've adopted more of a tough gap er some.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Yeah, and what's one of those things we say is
- 9:21Speaker 5: it's kind of you know, roster builders. You know, it's
- 9:24Speaker 5: never a finished product, right, you're always looking, always looking.
- 9:27Speaker 5: And you know, credit to the Vikings personnel department for
- 9:30Speaker 5: going to get Dalton Riiser off the scrap heap. Guy
- 9:33Speaker 5: played all sixty six snaps this last week in his
- 9:36Speaker 5: second game with the Vikings, and they did not allow
- 9:39Speaker 5: a sack against this forty nine ers you know, vaunted
- 9:44Speaker 5: defensive front Nick Bosa on there a lot some pressures.
- 9:46Speaker 5: You know, Kirk got hit a couple of times, but
- 9:48Speaker 5: for the most part, they did a pretty dang good
- 9:49Speaker 5: job against one of the league's best fronts. And you know,
- 9:52Speaker 5: I didn't run the ball a ton, but the fact
- 9:54Speaker 5: that you can keep Kirk upright though as many times
- 9:56Speaker 5: as he threw it, that's pretty impressive.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Yeah, to that point, they run it fewer than any
- 10:01Speaker 1: fewer times a game than any team in the league.
- 10:03Speaker 1: So they I think it's nineteen attempts a game, so
- 10:06Speaker 1: they are not running the ball. It is all on
- 10:07Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins and you know, look, he's delivered and this
- 10:10Speaker 1: team is right in the thick of it, right now,
- 10:11Speaker 1: right where they want to be.
- 10:13Speaker 2: All right, let's take a quick break.
- 10:15Speaker 1: When we come back, I'm gonna kick this trade discussion
- 10:18Speaker 1: off and right where we just left off, talk about
- 10:20Speaker 1: the Vikings maybe needing something, maybe being buyers instead of sellers.
- 10:23Speaker 2: I've got a name for you. We'll get to that
- 10:25Speaker 2: right after this.
- 10:30Speaker 1: All right, I talked about the Vikings a team that
- 10:34Speaker 1: could be in the market for a trade. Keep in mind,
- 10:35Speaker 1: we're a week away here. October thirty first is the
- 10:38Speaker 1: trade deadline. So we're going to go through a bunch
- 10:40Speaker 1: of names and some teams that could be buyers and
- 10:42Speaker 1: maybe see if we can't play a little matchmaker here. Again,
- 10:45Speaker 1: this is not based off any inside information that any
- 10:47Speaker 1: of the three of us have, just things that we
- 10:49Speaker 1: would like to see, and Rhett, I'll get it to
- 10:51Speaker 1: you on my thought with the Minnesota Vikings that we
- 10:54Speaker 1: just to kind of pull that together.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Here.
- 10:58Speaker 1: You look at that offense and then all of a sudden,
- 11:00Speaker 1: when you get justin Jefferson back, and you've got Addison going,
- 11:03Speaker 1: and you've got Hawkinson going, and you can pass protect
- 11:06Speaker 1: and all of a sudden, we want to check the
- 11:07Speaker 1: ball down, And all of a sudden, now I'm checking
- 11:09Speaker 1: the ball down to say Kuon Barkley instead of Alexander Madison.
- 11:13Speaker 2: The Minnesota Vikings.
- 11:15Speaker 5: That's an interesting one. Yeah. I mean, with the way
- 11:18Speaker 5: the Vikings season or the Giants season has certainly been trending,
- 11:22Speaker 5: and with Daniel Jones out and although they did just
- 11:25Speaker 5: get a win of the Commanders this last week, you
- 11:27Speaker 5: just don't know what that long term prognosis is. So
- 11:29Speaker 5: I think they're one of those teams. The Giants, it
- 11:31Speaker 5: feels like that are kind of in no man's land
- 11:33Speaker 5: right now, like do you feel like this thing is
- 11:34Speaker 5: lost or in the next couple of weeks before this
- 11:36Speaker 5: deadline comes up, if you can really turn it around,
- 11:39Speaker 5: then maybe that slows some of that momentum on that conversation.
- 11:42Speaker 5: But I like the idea you're going with there. You know,
- 11:46Speaker 5: the Broncos are a real interesting one here because you know,
- 11:49Speaker 5: Sean Payton has talked about not throwing up white flags
- 11:52Speaker 5: and you know, not wanting to be you know sellers
- 11:55Speaker 5: and just you know, have a garage sale with that
- 11:58Speaker 5: team and those roster parts there. But there are some
- 12:00Speaker 5: intriguing pieces, you know, you think about teams that are
- 12:03Speaker 5: in the market for left tackles. You know, Garrett Bowles
- 12:05Speaker 5: has got one year left on his deal, and it's
- 12:08Speaker 5: not you know, incredibly beyond this year. It's not incredibly
- 12:12Speaker 5: you know, tough to deal with for a for a
- 12:14Speaker 5: good left tackle. What if what if you worked a
- 12:16Speaker 5: one for one deal? Here Chase Young is playing, you know,
- 12:21Speaker 5: in his last year. They didn't climb the fifth year option.
- 12:25Speaker 5: You know, the Broncos have sent essentially all of their
- 12:27Speaker 5: edge rushers out. Von Miller's gone, Bradley Chubb's gone. What
- 12:31Speaker 5: if you worked the deal where you sent bowls to
- 12:34Speaker 5: the Commanders who have given up the most sacks in
- 12:36Speaker 5: all of football, and then you bring Chase Young in
- 12:39Speaker 5: on essentially a prove it for the final second half
- 12:41Speaker 5: of the season. Plays Well, maybe you can get him
- 12:43Speaker 5: back on one of those one year deals. I don't know,
- 12:45Speaker 5: just just kind of spitballing with a with a one
- 12:48Speaker 5: for one deal, which we don't see too often.
- 12:50Speaker 4: Oh look, man, I like that.
- 12:51Speaker 3: I think the Washington Commanders certainly should be auctioning off
- 12:54Speaker 3: some of their their pieces. Chase Young is a viable one.
- 12:58Speaker 3: I think Monte Switt is another one. Now, I would
- 13:01Speaker 3: like to go back to Minnesota because you guys talk
- 13:02Speaker 3: about Minnesota's offense. I'm trying to find a complimentary pass
- 13:05Speaker 3: rusher for Danil Hunter. I know they got Marcus Devenport,
- 13:08Speaker 3: but if this team is able to eke out a
- 13:10Speaker 3: couple of wins and get back into the mix, another
- 13:13Speaker 3: pass rush would do wonders for this thing. So think
- 13:15Speaker 3: about a high energy guy like montes Wa being.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Able to play with the Neil Hunter and what they
- 13:19Speaker 4: could do in that cover.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Zero, bluff and blitz scheme. I like montes s Witt
- 13:24Speaker 3: coming off the edge. I would like to see him
- 13:25Speaker 3: play four team that maybe win some games. I saw
- 13:28Speaker 3: Jonathan Nella's frustration. I was sure that montes Went shares
- 13:32Speaker 3: some of those sentiments because he hasn't won a lot
- 13:34Speaker 3: he's been in DC.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Yeah, let me get on both those real quick here.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Going back to rets with Garrett Bowles, I think he
- 13:41Speaker 1: has another year left on his contract, so you'd be
- 13:44Speaker 1: getting you'd be getting Chase Young and a rental year
- 13:47Speaker 1: where you're you're trying to me, I think the Broncos
- 13:50Speaker 1: are looking to the future. They want asked agree for
- 13:52Speaker 1: the future. Tom Yeah, yeah, that would be. That's why
- 13:56Speaker 1: to me, Like, if you're gonna say Garrett Bulls to me,
- 13:58Speaker 1: I'm more Garrett Bulls to the Jets for a draft
- 14:00Speaker 1: pick where they have some insurance. Now they have a right,
- 14:03Speaker 1: they can play them at right, they can play them
- 14:05Speaker 1: at left. If Mackay Beck then doesn't stay healthy, you've
- 14:07Speaker 1: got an option there. I think that would be some insurance.
- 14:09Speaker 1: And think about Hackett, even though Bulls was hurt last year,
- 14:12Speaker 1: Hackett would have some knowledge and information there on Garrett
- 14:15Speaker 1: Bulls and then Bucky's on the Vikings. I love that
- 14:17Speaker 1: idea of trying to go out and get an edge rusher.
- 14:19Speaker 1: To compliment to Neil Hunter, the Vikings. When you look
- 14:22Speaker 1: at the space, according to spot track, they have the
- 14:25Speaker 1: eighth most cap space right now they have ten million.
- 14:28Speaker 1: But I always caution people when you're when you're looking
- 14:30Speaker 1: up cap numbers and saying teams can or can't make
- 14:33Speaker 1: a deal, just keep in mind here as you raise
- 14:35Speaker 1: your hand that the according to this the Philadelphia Eagles
- 14:38Speaker 1: are minus two million, minus two point eight million.
- 14:41Speaker 5: There's ways, as Callie Roseman Creuz every year.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Because you're gould move the money around, you can figure
- 14:47Speaker 1: it out, is what I'm getting at Red.
- 14:49Speaker 5: Yeah, And if you're looking at teams in terms of
- 14:51Speaker 5: pressure percentage, that could use a little bit of a bump,
- 14:55Speaker 5: you know, Bucky, I'm kind of looking at your Jaguars. Obviously,
- 14:58Speaker 5: Josh Allen's played really well this year, but what if
- 15:00Speaker 5: he got a running mate with the way that the
- 15:01Speaker 5: Jags have been playing as of late. What if the Falcons,
- 15:04Speaker 5: you know, who have an inside track at winning the
- 15:06Speaker 5: NFC South Division, found a way to get some pressure
- 15:09Speaker 5: on the passer. You know, you know, we talk about
- 15:11Speaker 5: the guys like you know, Montes Sweat and you know,
- 15:13Speaker 5: I think Daniel Hunters out of the mix now as
- 15:15Speaker 5: we as we've kind of been talking about. But to
- 15:17Speaker 5: Chase Young, what about Carl Lawson, you know, guys like
- 15:20Speaker 5: that that just haven't you know, haven't done a lot
- 15:22Speaker 5: for the teams that they are playing for right now,
- 15:24Speaker 5: but have some of that talent. I think the Jags
- 15:26Speaker 5: and the Falcons could be interesting plays there for an
- 15:28Speaker 5: edge rusher.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Yeah, good, good spot I mean like, well, here's the thing.
- 15:34Speaker 4: I mean, like, no, you're talking about us right now.
- 15:36Speaker 3: I'm just thinking like with the Falcons, you have Kalis Campbell,
- 15:38Speaker 3: who just got his I think he not his one
- 15:40Speaker 3: hundred sack a week or so ago. They really don't
- 15:43Speaker 3: have anyone that really scares you. I mean, like, like
- 15:46Speaker 3: great Jeffeicating, he's someone off the edge that can get
- 15:49Speaker 3: after it. Like, yeah, someone that can can can dominate
- 15:52Speaker 3: off the edge. Because if everyone is if we're taking
- 15:54Speaker 3: a baseball type approach or an NBA basketball type approach, yeah,
- 15:57Speaker 3: you're looking for the missing piece that can help you
- 16:00Speaker 3: for the last nine games to get you over the hump.
- 16:02Speaker 4: The Falcons need a passers, so they could definitely use that.
- 16:05Speaker 1: All right, I think we're missing something here, guys, I'm
- 16:08Speaker 1: looking at this stuff. Let me give you some information here.
- 16:11Speaker 1: You know, the team that has the most salary cap
- 16:12Speaker 1: space right now, it's the San Francisco forty.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Nine Ers, the San Francis Gas.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Okay, we've.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Talked about it forever, about the collision course that the
- 16:24Speaker 1: forty nine Ers and the Eagles are on. Okay, let's
- 16:27Speaker 1: go back to last year. What is Kyle Shanahan do.
- 16:29Speaker 1: He goes out and gets McCaffrey, and that took their
- 16:31Speaker 1: offense to another level. You look, the Eagles already made
- 16:34Speaker 1: their move. They went out and got Kevin Byern, you know,
- 16:36Speaker 1: a multi year Pro Bowl of safety to fill a
- 16:39Speaker 1: void for them. So they've made their move. It's time
- 16:41Speaker 1: for a counter move. And when you look, I was
- 16:42Speaker 1: looking up the forty nine ers draft picks next year,
- 16:45Speaker 1: you know, because they've made trades over the last few years.
- 16:48Speaker 1: They have one, A two that with with two cop threes,
- 16:52Speaker 1: they'll have three threes. They they have two fours, they
- 16:55Speaker 1: have two fives, two sixes, and a seven. So you
- 16:58Speaker 1: have a team that's pushed all their chips all in.
- 17:00Speaker 1: You've got a quarterback on a rookie deal, you've got
- 17:03Speaker 1: the most cap space. The team that you're on a
- 17:05Speaker 1: collision course with has already made a move. I don't
- 17:08Speaker 1: think this is going to be a tiptoe move for
- 17:10Speaker 1: Kyle Shanahan and for John Lynch. I think they do
- 17:13Speaker 1: something big man. They're all in right now. So to me,
- 17:17Speaker 1: I don't know who the biggest name you want to
- 17:18Speaker 1: come up with. We talked about whiteouts, maybe getting somebody
- 17:21Speaker 1: can take the top off.
- 17:22Speaker 2: I don't is that Sutton?
- 17:23Speaker 4: Is that?
- 17:24Speaker 2: Is that Jerry Judy? I don't know. Is there somebody
- 17:26Speaker 2: bigger out there?
- 17:27Speaker 1: I mean McCaffrey's is darn is near a bigger name
- 17:30Speaker 1: as you can get, and they went and got him
- 17:32Speaker 1: last year.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Buck.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I mean, I think we're missing something with this team.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Keep an eye on the forty nine ers, because it
- 17:37Speaker 1: doesn't feel like this is a team that's going to
- 17:39Speaker 1: go quiet. This feels like a team that's ready to
- 17:40Speaker 1: make a big, bold move.
- 17:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 17:43Speaker 3: So if you think about big bull moves, I mean,
- 17:44Speaker 3: there are a couple of ways that you can look
- 17:46Speaker 3: at it. If you look at it at the wide
- 17:47Speaker 3: receiver position. What about the KG veteran down in Tampa
- 17:50Speaker 3: who's not happy with his deal, Mike Evans.
- 17:52Speaker 5: Mike Evan, So you talked about a Renald.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Yeah, a Renold agreement where they could take him, put
- 17:56Speaker 3: him in the mix, give him another big body. You
- 17:58Speaker 3: talk about Debt eleven personnel package and how you have
- 18:00Speaker 3: to defend that. With Christian McCaffrey in the running game,
- 18:03Speaker 3: that certainly would change it. The Niners are always interesting
- 18:07Speaker 3: because you talk about the arms race, that is the
- 18:09Speaker 3: battle between the Eagles and the Niners.
- 18:12Speaker 4: When Niners when the Eagles win, got Kevin byered.
- 18:15Speaker 3: It is almost a man you need to have a
- 18:16Speaker 3: checkmate mood move if you're the forty nine ers.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Don't know what that is, but it.
- 18:21Speaker 3: Has to be something big because right now you look
- 18:23Speaker 3: at the Eagles roster with Julio Jones, who is not
- 18:26Speaker 3: the same player, but they are certainly going up. They're
- 18:29Speaker 3: trying to load up for bear when it comes to
- 18:30Speaker 3: the postseason run.
- 18:32Speaker 5: Yeah, Judy, I mean, those are the names we've been
- 18:34Speaker 5: talking about for months. It feels like, what about Marquis Brown?
- 18:38Speaker 5: What about Hollywood in Arizona? You know, obviously they've been competitive,
- 18:42Speaker 5: but I don't know that they've got playoff designs here.
- 18:45Speaker 5: And he's definitely a guy that gets up and down
- 18:46Speaker 5: the field pretty quickly. I don't know if that if
- 18:48Speaker 5: that strikes you as the you know, as that kind
- 18:51Speaker 5: of Haymaker trade that you're talking about, Deach, But just
- 18:53Speaker 5: kind of thinking about other wide receivers out there, I
- 18:55Speaker 5: don't I don't know you got any others in mind?
- 18:58Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I mean, well the only other thing I
- 19:01Speaker 1: can think of is I'm just looking through the list
- 19:03Speaker 1: and research did a great job, and I'm I think
- 19:06Speaker 1: Drew might actually be research on this project. But with
- 19:09Speaker 1: a bunch of names that have showed up in different articles, right,
- 19:11Speaker 1: just different names. Well, the most talented player that we've
- 19:14Speaker 1: seen show up on these lists is Brian Burns. So
- 19:16Speaker 1: even I'm thinking offense and they're going to try and
- 19:18Speaker 1: do something to juice up the offense, maybe maybe it's
- 19:21Speaker 1: just hey, what are you going to do? And we've
- 19:22Speaker 1: got Nick Bosa on one side and now we've got
- 19:25Speaker 1: Brian Burns on the other, and we've got Hardgrave in
- 19:27Speaker 1: Armstead inside, Like maybe that's what they do. But they've
- 19:30Speaker 1: got the assets, they've got money, they've got picks, and
- 19:33Speaker 1: they're all in. So that's the you know, maybe that's
- 19:35Speaker 1: the biggest name that I can come up with on
- 19:37Speaker 1: this list, Buck, But it just feels like there's no
- 19:40Speaker 1: way we get to the Halloween and the forty nine
- 19:43Speaker 1: ers haven't done something.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Just there's no way, no, there's no way. And even
- 19:48Speaker 3: as you talk about it, you talk about it rich
- 19:49Speaker 3: getting Richard. The one thing that we saw play out
- 19:51Speaker 3: with the Philadelphia Eagles and knocking off the Miami Dolphins
- 19:53Speaker 3: was the depth of der front line. Well, when you
- 19:55Speaker 3: think about the forty nine ers as you propose it,
- 19:57Speaker 3: maybe Brian Burn's coming over.
- 19:58Speaker 4: Remember they added Randy Gray.
- 20:00Speaker 3: They brought some other guys over there, Like it's the
- 20:03Speaker 3: battle of My team has more depth. So we're gonna
- 20:06Speaker 3: wear you out no matter what injuries, stamina, whatever it takes.
- 20:11Speaker 3: We have enough to do. And so the Niners are
- 20:13Speaker 3: certainly in that position. But let's think about you talked
- 20:16Speaker 3: about Hollywood Brown ratt. Let's think about the Buffalo Bills
- 20:19Speaker 3: and how their offense has kind of been kind of static.
- 20:21Speaker 3: Why not put Hollywood Brown out there to maybe give
- 20:24Speaker 3: them some more juice, to create some opportunities down the
- 20:26Speaker 3: field for Josh Allen. Because the only way the Buffalo
- 20:29Speaker 3: Bills are gonna win, they're gonna have to start out
- 20:31Speaker 3: scoring people. We're about to see Josh Allen become that
- 20:34Speaker 3: one man show again. Whether if we're gonna do it,
- 20:36Speaker 3: let's give him some firepower that can take advantage of
- 20:39Speaker 3: some of the one on one looks on the outside.
- 20:41Speaker 1: No, I like that idea. Get a little more of
- 20:43Speaker 1: a vertical speed there, you know, Josh Allen can throw
- 20:46Speaker 1: it over the moon, so that would make a little sense.
- 20:48Speaker 1: We'll talk about this trade deadline that is a week away.
- 20:50Speaker 1: Also a week from now, we've got a little international action.
- 20:54Speaker 2: This November.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Sunday Morning football debuts in Frankfurt, Germany, on NFL Network. First,
- 21:00Speaker 1: on November fifth, the Dolphins take on the Chiefs. Then
- 21:03Speaker 1: on the twelfth, the Colts face the Patriots. Rise Shine
- 21:06Speaker 1: and watch only on NFL Network and streaming on NFL Plus.
- 21:11Speaker 1: All right, guys, let's uh, let's get to the rookies.
- 21:13Speaker 1: The rookie draft last week. The results look, I feel
- 21:18Speaker 1: good about it. I've got I got seven points, got
- 21:20Speaker 1: three from Kinkaid the tight end. I got one from
- 21:23Speaker 1: pukin Nakua, a second place spot there, and then McLoughlin.
- 21:27Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 21:27Speaker 1: I feel bad taking these three points because Bijon Robbins
- 21:30Speaker 1: you should barely played, and Zach Evans didn't play. But
- 21:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna take him regardless. Buck got three points for
- 21:35Speaker 1: Addison on Monday night, he got the one for Bijon,
- 21:38Speaker 1: and then rhet you got the one point for Laporta,
- 21:40Speaker 1: A little second place on the tight end. Uh finished there,
- 21:43Speaker 1: I got past Buck. I think we're still neck and neck.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I think we're distancing ourselves a little bit from rhtt rhtt.
- 21:49Speaker 1: You're gonna have to plenty of time, man, You're gonna
- 21:53Speaker 1: have You're gonna have to step your game up. But
- 21:55Speaker 1: I want to talk about one of the guys from
- 21:56Speaker 1: last week, which was Dalton Kincaid, who scored me a
- 21:59Speaker 1: bunch of points. But with Dawson Knox hurt now Buck,
- 22:02Speaker 1: it feels like King Kaid, who had eight catches in
- 22:04Speaker 1: that game, Uh, he's got a chance to really start
- 22:06Speaker 1: getting going. He's you know, he missed the game. I
- 22:08Speaker 1: believe it's a concussion. I feel like this is him
- 22:10Speaker 1: kind of settling in. I think he could he could
- 22:12Speaker 1: get on a little bit of a run here.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Yeah, it's time.
- 22:14Speaker 3: It's time for dn kin Ka to be a major
- 22:16Speaker 3: player for them. And what you like about King Kaid's
- 22:19Speaker 3: outstanding roud running. He is working over the middle field
- 22:21Speaker 3: and really controlled in the middle and with all the
- 22:23Speaker 3: attention that defenses have to pay to uh Sefon Diggs,
- 22:27Speaker 3: it really creates a huge void. And we saw that
- 22:30Speaker 3: as this chemistry and connectivity continues to be established between
- 22:34Speaker 3: Josh Allen and Kinky, balls are going ahead in his
- 22:37Speaker 3: direction without Dawson Knox. He has to be, I would say,
- 22:40Speaker 3: the second in line when it comes to the passing game. Yeah,
- 22:43Speaker 3: I think Dalton kink is about to explode when it
- 22:45Speaker 3: comes to the numbers the production.
- 22:47Speaker 1: All right, I've got I've got two bits of good
- 22:49Speaker 1: news for ret here. Number one, there's no buys this week,
- 22:53Speaker 1: no buys, So you've got your choice of all the rookies.
- 22:56Speaker 1: You're not missing anybody. We're gonna we're not doing the quarterbacks,
- 22:59Speaker 1: by the way, because of the injuries that we've had there,
- 23:01Speaker 1: So we're going to go again with the running back,
- 23:03Speaker 1: wide receiver, tight end, and right. The other piece of
- 23:05Speaker 1: good news is you get the first pick man. No pressure,
- 23:07Speaker 1: no pressure here.
- 23:08Speaker 5: By the way. You know, I think the fact that
- 23:10Speaker 5: you guys didn't want to go quarterbacks this week is
- 23:13Speaker 5: just straight up cowardly. I was one hundred percent ready
- 23:15Speaker 5: to take Tyson Pagent with the number one pick, okay,
- 23:18Speaker 5: after what he did this last week to going up
- 23:20Speaker 5: against your chargers here DJ. So you know the fact
- 23:23Speaker 5: that you guys don't want to do that totally fine,
- 23:25Speaker 5: I get it. We'll adjust and we'll go back to
- 23:28Speaker 5: wide receiver, tight end, running backs. So I don't think
- 23:32Speaker 5: I have to take the tight end number one this week.
- 23:34Speaker 5: I think we've shown now that there's a couple of
- 23:36Speaker 5: tight ends that can make some moves here. I don't
- 23:39Speaker 5: know what to think about Bijon obviously, you know he's
- 23:42Speaker 5: been the number one pick. I feel like almost every
- 23:44Speaker 5: week had the headaches. Last week or whatever it was,
- 23:47Speaker 5: didn't play. Do I trust him? Gosh, that's a tough one,
- 23:51Speaker 5: especially with the way that Jordan Addison has been playing
- 23:53Speaker 5: with with Justin Jefferson out, So I think I got
- 23:56Speaker 5: to go Jordan Addison here with the number one overall pick.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Boys, Oh nice, all right, Jordan Fantasy number one pick.
- 24:05Speaker 4: That's what we're doing.
- 24:06Speaker 2: I like that.
- 24:08Speaker 5: I like that.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I'll tell you what I'm gonna I feel good about
- 24:12Speaker 1: the receiver options that I've got left. Yeah, running back
- 24:15Speaker 1: is a little bit of a crap shoot. So I'm
- 24:17Speaker 1: just I think I'm gonna wait on those two. I
- 24:19Speaker 1: think I'm gonna go back to the well it took.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Dalton Kinkaid took care of me last week. I thought
- 24:23Speaker 1: he was the best tight end coming into the draft,
- 24:25Speaker 1: and it's looked like he's starting to now get into
- 24:28Speaker 1: a groove. Laport has been awesome throughout the whole year.
- 24:30Speaker 1: But I think Kinkaid' getting get ready.
- 24:32Speaker 2: To go on run. I'm gonna go with Kinkaid from
- 24:34Speaker 2: Buffalo is my tight.
- 24:34Speaker 5: End, all right, tight end?
- 24:37Speaker 3: Oh man, that's great, man. You got to run up
- 24:40Speaker 3: the car real quick. Jon romis in taking him right away.
- 24:43Speaker 3: No matter what the doubt to say about it doesn't matter.
- 24:45Speaker 3: We're taking him. You fall to us. We appreciate you
- 24:47Speaker 3: being there. And then look, the tough thing is trying
- 24:51Speaker 3: to figure out which wide receiver to go. Let's go
- 24:53Speaker 3: out on the limb and I'm gonna go with Jackson
- 24:55Speaker 3: Smith and Jigba being able to take. We saw him
- 24:59Speaker 3: get a touchdown, he had a opportunity. So let's bring
- 25:01Speaker 3: a new name into the mix. Give me JSN. Let's
- 25:03Speaker 3: do it. Do it for the people, all right.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I like that Uhwa game coming off of a nice
- 25:09Speaker 1: a nice game. I mean I have to take I
- 25:12Speaker 1: have to take Puka. I mean he's he's been good
- 25:14Speaker 1: to me. Yeah, I feel like Rhet still thinks like
- 25:16Speaker 1: he has some type of ownership here.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Not true.
- 25:20Speaker 1: But I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go with Pooka
- 25:23Speaker 1: go with Pooka here rhet, you got two more?
- 25:25Speaker 5: Yes?
- 25:25Speaker 2: I do?
- 25:26Speaker 5: Okay, So all the receivers have been taken, so I
- 25:30Speaker 5: get let me see, I'm gonna go. I liked what
- 25:33Speaker 5: Jamior Gibbs did last week and actually started him in
- 25:36Speaker 5: some actual fantasy football leagues. So with the Raiders coming
- 25:41Speaker 5: to town on a Monday night, and I feel like
- 25:45Speaker 5: I'm gonna go, Jamiir Gibbs as my runner, all right,
- 25:50Speaker 5: and then I need a tight end, So give me
- 25:52Speaker 5: the double stack, give me the porta. Right there, Gibbs
- 25:56Speaker 5: Andora Alliance stacking them. Let's do it. Getting back on track,
- 26:02Speaker 5: all right.
- 26:03Speaker 2: Let me Oh yeah, I love. I feel great about this.
- 26:06Speaker 2: I'm loyal. I'm loyal.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Last week, you know, people say, oh, you know, maybe
- 26:10Speaker 1: the other running backs didn't play, you know, maybe you
- 26:13Speaker 1: don't give him the credit for those big five points
- 26:15Speaker 1: that he got me.
- 26:16Speaker 2: But I say no. I say, Julil mcglo gave.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Me three points last week, and playing against the Kansas
- 26:21Speaker 1: City Chiefs team that I expect to get out to
- 26:24Speaker 1: a little bit of a lead in this game. Oh,
- 26:26Speaker 1: We're going to catch a lot of balls out of
- 26:28Speaker 1: the backfield. I'm gonna go with you.
- 26:30Speaker 5: Did think the same team you had last week?
- 26:34Speaker 2: I think I did. He did right back way.
- 26:36Speaker 4: I think he went back to back.
- 26:37Speaker 2: You went squad?
- 26:40Speaker 1: Why not, it's not broken? Would I switch it? Why
- 26:43Speaker 1: would I switch my names? They all delivered. Good for you.
- 26:47Speaker 5: That's big, Go ahead, close us down.
- 26:51Speaker 4: Well, look, we're coming off a disappointing performance.
- 26:54Speaker 3: The Raiders got absolutely obliterated by the Chicago Bears. So
- 26:57Speaker 3: let's see if we can get the tide end more involved.
- 26:59Speaker 3: I know we have Ryan Hory last week. Hopefully they'll
- 27:01Speaker 3: do the right thing. If it's not Jimmy g it's
- 27:03Speaker 3: eight and O'Connell. So maybe the ball can find the
- 27:05Speaker 3: hands of some would be playmakers. Let's go Michael Mayer
- 27:08Speaker 3: from Notre Dame. Let's see him do something for the Raiders,
- 27:12Speaker 3: and let's see if he can get it done for me.
- 27:15Speaker 4: Go back to the world.
- 27:16Speaker 1: By the way, do you notice once again a guy
- 27:19Speaker 1: who has no pride in his school? I mean, Josh
- 27:21Speaker 1: Ballins just puts up big numbers. Last week, she refuses.
- 27:27Speaker 2: Out there.
- 27:28Speaker 1: I mean, good night, Buddy's fault is goner, Minsru's fault.
- 27:34Speaker 4: I would like to quarterback.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Well, just earner Minshew.
- 27:40Speaker 5: I mean, if we had the opportunity to choose individual
- 27:43Speaker 5: defensive players, guys, I had one hundred choose PFF's highest
- 27:48Speaker 5: graded linebacker last week, and Mike McFadden okay, absolutely would
- 27:53Speaker 5: do it. So I think next week that's what we
- 27:56Speaker 5: should do. We should do an all defensive rookie draft
- 28:00Speaker 5: B linebacker defensive linement we think is not so I
- 28:08Speaker 5: guess I couldn't do that, but.
- 28:10Speaker 2: That doesn't work.
- 28:11Speaker 1: But I do like that background better than the shadow
- 28:14Speaker 1: than the shadow game that you had going on, rat,
- 28:16Speaker 1: So I do like, No, that's that's upgrade about that.
- 28:22Speaker 1: All right, all right, this is uh, this is gonna
- 28:24Speaker 1: be a big week for us. We'll see how this
- 28:26Speaker 1: uh this rookie draft uh pans out next week. I've
- 28:30Speaker 1: got a little, tiny, little baby lead right now, but
- 28:32Speaker 1: I like Bucky draft that could be in trouble. Well,
- 28:34Speaker 1: thanks for checking us out today on Move the Sticks.
- 28:36Speaker 1: We will be back tomorrow. We're here each and every day,
- 28:39Speaker 1: five days a week, Monday through Friday. Another new show
- 28:42Speaker 1: coming your way tomorrow, and uh hope you'll join us
