- 1:07Sean McAllister: Oh, what did I say?
- 1:08Sean McAllister: Just 24?
- 1:09Dayna Roselli: 124.
- 1:10Sean McAllister: 124.
- 1:11Sean McAllister: Jeez.
- 1:12Sean McAllister: Man, all the way up into the 200s, 224.
- 1:16Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister here, along with Dana Roselli.
- 1:20Sean McAllister: Uh, and a big hello to Cisco Live.
- 1:24Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 1:26Dayna Roselli: See, and I was gonna say we were gonna start the podcast off much more level-headed and less silly this week uh because of the feedback that we got.
- 1:35Dayna Roselli: But anyway, um, yeah, Cisco Live.
- 1:37Dayna Roselli: Okay, this is another, we're gonna start with an inside joke.
- 1:40Dayna Roselli: Cisco Live, I saw Tom Brady's here to speak at Cisco Live, and I was like, what's Cisco Live?
- 1:45Dayna Roselli: I had never heard of it.
- 1:46Dayna Roselli: Went to their bio on Instagram, still didn't explain what it was.
- 1:49Dayna Roselli: Went to a bunch of reels on their things, didn't know what it was.
- 1:52Dayna Roselli: We're here at Cisco Live, Cisco Live.
- 1:54Dayna Roselli: And I didn't know what Cisco Live was, and I was like, this is a fail because your bio should say exactly what you are.
- 2:00Dayna Roselli: Some of these reels should say, and maybe it's like they think it's a given that everyone knows what Cisco Live is.
- 2:05Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 2:06Dayna Roselli: But I didn't know.
- 2:06Dayna Roselli: We dig further.
- 2:07Dayna Roselli: Tom Brady's speaking, Elton John is performing their main big event at Allegiant Stadium.
- 2:13Dayna Roselli: I'm like, what?
- 2:14Dayna Roselli: How did I not know about this Cisco Live?
- 2:16Sean McAllister: Well, you know who did know about it is the Google AI search.
- 2:19Dayna Roselli: It did.
- 2:20Sean McAllister: And they told us that Cisco Live is one of the biggest uh IT conventions that you can go to.
- 2:26Sean McAllister: Uh lots of information sharing and new product launches.
- 2:30Sean McAllister: So Cisco Live in town putting on a big show.
- 2:34Dayna Roselli: So welcome.
- 2:35Sean McAllister: Welcome.
- 2:35Sean McAllister: We love it.
- 2:36Dayna Roselli: It's not a live show with Cisco.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: What does he sing?
- 2:39Dayna Roselli: What's his famous song?
- 2:41Sean McAllister: Uh it wasn't me?
- 2:43Sean McAllister: No.
- 2:44Dayna Roselli: No.
- 2:45unknown: Oh no.
- 2:46Dayna Roselli: Are we starting this show off?
- 2:48Dayna Roselli: We did not mean to start the show off like this.
- 2:50Dayna Roselli: This is ridiculous.
- 2:52Dayna Roselli: Okay, now I need to look up Cisco.
- 2:54Dayna Roselli: Hold on.
- 2:55Dayna Roselli: Cisco sings the thong song.
- 2:58Sean McAllister: The thong song.
- 2:58Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh, of course.
- 3:01Sean McAllister: Duh.
- 3:01Sean McAllister: Didn't Marie Osmond do some kind of collaboration with Cisco?
- 3:06Sean McAllister: I feel like she did.
- 3:09Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 3:12Sean McAllister: All right.
- 3:12Sean McAllister: Well, uh, welcome to the show.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, welcome to the show.
- 3:15Dayna Roselli: Speaking of our silliness, last week, thanks for bearing with us.
- 3:18Dayna Roselli: Uh, we had a whole thing about parking that went in a couple different directions.
- 3:21Dayna Roselli: But we did get a note, a fan mail text, because you can text us.
- 3:25Dayna Roselli: We have a link in our notes.
- 3:26Dayna Roselli: Um, that uh this one came in from actually Wisconsin, and they said listening to your podcast on May 30th was great fun.
- 3:35Dayna Roselli: Thank you for the lighthearted talk about the parking at resorts world.
- 3:38Dayna Roselli: It made listening to the podcast so much more fun to listen to.
- 3:42Dayna Roselli: So I'm glad you liked it.
- 3:44Dayna Roselli: Then our subscriber and faithful supporter, Rob Lewis, wrote us too and said he uh he was catching up on the shows.
- 3:51Dayna Roselli: He had been swamped, but he said those first few six to ten minutes are gold about the directions.
- 3:59Dayna Roselli: Slapstick humor.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: Don't edit the podcast from now on.
- 4:03Dayna Roselli: Keep it in.
- 4:04Dayna Roselli: So we're keeping it in.
- 4:06Sean McAllister: So it's in.
- 4:06Sean McAllister: It's all here.
- 4:07Dayna Roselli: It's all here.
- 4:09Sean McAllister: For the better or for the worse.
- 4:10Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:10Sean McAllister: And if you listen for if you're a longtime listener, you know that we're uh no stranger to going off on tangents and then trying to bring it back around at some point.
- 4:20Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 4:21Dayna Roselli: We're good at that.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: But we do have a lot on the agenda today and a lot of good interviews and a lot of great topics.
- 4:27Dayna Roselli: So, but first I wanted to dive a little into J-Lo because you know there was so much chatter that J-Lo was gonna get a show here in Vegas and people were competing for where she was gonna perform, but all this J-Lo and Ben stuff, and then she canceled her tour, and I'm just now everyone's like the residency's definitely off.
- 4:45Dayna Roselli: So I don't know what's going on with that, but I am actually not a huge, huge J-Lo fan.
- 4:51Dayna Roselli: I liked her in the movie Selena.
- 4:53Sean McAllister: Okay, well, that was a minute ago.
- 4:55Dayna Roselli: But um, I don't mind her, I don't like or dislike.
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: It's like whatever.
- 5:00Dayna Roselli: But I was just thinking, gosh, the paparazzi has just been on them and her so much.
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: I almost, you know, when she had to cancel the tour, gosh, I really felt for her.
- 5:10Dayna Roselli: I mean, like this is a lot for anyone mentally.
- 5:14Sean McAllister: Well, it's a ton, and you know, because of the paparazzi and you know, tabloids and all that, there have been all these reports about, you know, personal stuff going on in addition to all of this professional career stuff that's going on.
- 5:32Sean McAllister: So I mean either one of those issues is a big thing for a person to handle.
- 5:38Sean McAllister: And when you have both going on, you know, seemingly at the same time, yeah, um that's a lot.
- 5:44Sean McAllister: I do.
- 5:45Sean McAllister: I feel bad for I feel bad for both of them.
- 5:47Sean McAllister: I know.
- 5:47Sean McAllister: Because I will say, when uh JLo did her Vegas residency over at Planet Hollywood, that was a phenomenal show.
- 5:59Sean McAllister: She is an incredible live performer, right?
- 6:02Sean McAllister: And so it bums me out that the that the tour was canceled because she does do an incredible job.
- 6:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:10Dayna Roselli: And somebody, and I don't know how legit it was, uh, it was because it was on Twitter, um, posted like the sales like for all the shows, and like they weren't awful.
- 6:21Dayna Roselli: They the the arenas weren't full, but they it wasn't horrible.
- 6:26Sean McAllister: But it's not like only 20 people were showing up, there were like thousand hundreds, thousands.
- 6:31Dayna Roselli: Like say it fit, I don't know, 17,000 in a in an arena or something, and like 13,000 were sold.
- 6:38Dayna Roselli: I was like, okay, I mean that's a good number.
- 6:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, I don't know, but I don't know.
- 6:41Sean McAllister: We should look into that.
- 6:42Sean McAllister: See what uh see what like the bottom limit of capacity is before you have to be like this isn't working.
- 6:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:50Dayna Roselli: Well, she did say she had to focus a lot on on family and some personal things going on, and that might really just add to it.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: Her mind just might not be there.
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: Her and Ben Affleck maybe aren't doing well, maybe the rumors are true and all that kind of thing.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: And you know, they got married here in Vegas, so that's the connection.
- 7:06Dayna Roselli: So, you know, we they they right there at you know, a pop-up wedding at one of our little chapels.
- 7:13Dayna Roselli: So that made big news, and so we're pulling for them.
- 7:16Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I mean, I'll admit Ben does look miserable.
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: But then again, I don't know how the only time I ever see Ben F like in a good mood is when he's around Matt Damon.
- 7:30Dayna Roselli: They're besties, and you know, their whole connection and their friendship is is great, and whenever they're together, they're always laughing and smiling.
- 7:37Dayna Roselli: And other than that, you know, Ben just looks over everything.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 7:41Sean McAllister: Well, I hope that I hope that you know, if anything needs to be worked out, it does, it is.
- 7:47Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 7:47Sean McAllister: Um, and I would love to see Jennifer Lopez back here in Vegas.
- 7:51Sean McAllister: That would be I feel like she would even be a great performer for like Voltaire.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she was there.
- 7:56Sean McAllister: Over at Venetian, that's an intimate kind of a theater where she'd be right up close and that would be amazing.
- 8:04Dayna Roselli: I don't know, like I can't remember, I don't think I ever saw her show at Planet Hollywood.
- 8:08Dayna Roselli: I saw her perform at the Caesar Caesars did a uh Oh, their 50th anniversary.
- 8:15Dayna Roselli: But it does she interact with the crowd or did she just stick to dancing and performing and singing?
- 8:20Sean McAllister: Uh there wasn't a ton of interaction, but she would like she would have conversation between so uh certain songs.
- 8:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because I feel like you need to have a little bit of that in order to be at Voltaire.
- 8:34Sean McAllister: Yeah, that is true.
- 8:35Dayna Roselli: To interact with the crowd and you know, have a little fun with them and stuff like that, but I'm not sure.
- 8:40Dayna Roselli: You know, she gets a bad rap, people say, you know, she's not the best tipper and all sorts of stuff.
- 8:45Dayna Roselli: It goes in a million directions.
- 8:46Dayna Roselli: You don't know what to believe.
- 8:47Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 8:48Sean McAllister: Well, we wish her and them and everyone the best.
- 8:52Sean McAllister: Yes, don't we?
- 8:53Dayna Roselli: Always for everyone, right?
- 8:55Sean McAllister: We do.
- 8:56Dayna Roselli: I love this video that has gone around of Ringo.
- 8:59Dayna Roselli: Actually, Cirque du Soleil sent it out, which was wonderful because we were able to spread it around.
- 9:03Dayna Roselli: But Ringo visiting the cast of and the show The Beatles Love, you know, which show that's Cirque du Soleil show that's based off the life of the Beatles.
- 9:13Dayna Roselli: Um, I love that he went.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: I love that he visited backstage and that we were able to see that moment.
- 9:17Dayna Roselli: That was great.
- 9:18Sean McAllister: It's so cool.
- 9:19Sean McAllister: And as the show is getting ready to uh do its last performance, the beginning of July, because they're housed over at the Mirage, which is uh closing down, turning into the the hard rock.
- 9:31Sean McAllister: Um it is, it's sad.
- 9:32Sean McAllister: There's been so many great memories of uh of the show and seeing I mean I remember when you know Paul McCartney and Ringo and um you know all of them were here for the fifth anniversary of the Beatles Love.
- 9:49Sean McAllister: It was great.
- 9:50Sean McAllister: So it is, I love it that Ringo came back.
- 9:53Sean McAllister: His all-star band was performing over at the Venetian, right?
- 9:56Sean McAllister: So while they were in town, Ringo was like, hey, let's pop on over.
- 10:01Sean McAllister: And he he was like enamored with the the kids because there are kids who are a part of the cast, and he was like, Oh, the kids, I love them.
- 10:11Dayna Roselli: They really are fantastic in that show, and it's so interesting to see, you know.
- 10:15Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was great.
- 10:16Dayna Roselli: I'm glad that he went over to see it again.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: I think he'd said he'd seen it multiple times, but saw it again, and it was just as good, and he loved it.
- 10:22Dayna Roselli: And it's a nice treat for them.
- 10:24Dayna Roselli: Also, Celine Dion went to the show and she went backstage too.
- 10:27Dayna Roselli: Lots of clips of that going around.
- 10:29Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 10:30Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, these big, you know, people are going to see love because it is such an iconic show.
- 10:35Dayna Roselli: I've never heard anyone say a bad thing about love.
- 10:37Dayna Roselli: Everyone enjoys it, everyone's seen it multiple times.
- 10:40Sean McAllister: Well, and when it's the music of the Beatles, you can't go wrong.
- 10:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 10:44Sean McAllister: I mean, that soundtrack is incredible.
- 10:47Sean McAllister: I think you can actually buy the buy the soundtrack and download it.
- 10:50Dayna Roselli: And it's like when you go to choose songs, even on Instagram, the Beatles Love soundtrack comes up.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: So they do have a whole you know album out.
- 10:58Dayna Roselli: But um something that keeps getting repeated, and I notice like whenever on Twitter I post something about love, either it's closing or a clip from someone visiting, a lot of responses come in that say, I can't believe that the hard rock, which is based on rock and roll, didn't isn't keeping Beatles love.
- 11:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: Or that someone else isn't picking them up.
- 11:22Dayna Roselli: But just FYI, like we don't know the reason.
- 11:24Dayna Roselli: It could be a Cirque de Soleil reason to just, you know, it's done its run.
- 11:28Dayna Roselli: It's gonna the Mirage is closing for three years, it's time to do something new.
- 11:32Dayna Roselli: We don't exactly know whose decision it is to end the show, right?
- 11:35Dayna Roselli: So it could be a group decision, it could be, we don't know, maybe in three years it will open up again, even though most likely they say it's done, but you never know what could change, and you don't know if someone else would pick it up, but maybe they just feel it's done its run.
- 11:51Sean McAllister: Yeah, it it would be a good fit though.
- 11:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it would be.
- 11:54Sean McAllister: Um, but it was great to see all these videos of Celine with the cast, and you know, she was singing to them.
- 12:00Sean McAllister: She it was almost like she was.
- 12:02Sean McAllister: I I think somebody turned her music on, and so she did a little private concert for him, singing to the cast.
- 12:08Sean McAllister: But she looked phenomenal.
- 12:09Dayna Roselli: She did.
- 12:10Sean McAllister: And I'm so glad to see her out and about after you know this health struggle that she's been dealing with.
- 12:17Sean McAllister: And by the way, her uh documentary, I am Celine Dion, uh comes out on June 25th.
- 12:25Sean McAllister: Um so that's gonna be That'll be good.
- 12:28Sean McAllister: Good to see.
- 12:29Dayna Roselli: Well, and that's the thing.
- 12:29Dayna Roselli: I think uh for that to come out, she knows she has to do promotion as well.
- 12:33Dayna Roselli: And I think uh, you know, deciding on when it's gonna come out, I'm assuming she picked a time where she was ready to do this, to promote, do interviews, you know, and feels up to it.
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: So it's good to know that now is the time.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: Hey, by the way, uh switching gears a little bit, you know, we told you about the free fireworks in downtown Las Vegas every Friday at the plaza downtown at 9 15.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: It's already kicked off.
- 12:59Dayna Roselli: It kicked off Memorial Day weekend.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: People are loving it.
- 13:03Dayna Roselli: The other day, Sean, I was driving home on a Friday night.
- 13:06Dayna Roselli: I know, hot, you know, exciting night out.
- 13:08Dayna Roselli: I went to Hotworks to do like yoga, but it was late.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: I go, I work out late at night.
- 13:13Dayna Roselli: Um, but anyway, I was driving home and all of a sudden I saw I was driving east on the 95.
- 13:18Dayna Roselli: Okay, and I saw the fireworks, and I was like, oh, it's 9.15, it's the plaza fireworks.
- 13:23Dayna Roselli: But that whole stretch of 95, you know, is pretty long.
- 13:26Dayna Roselli: You just kind of roll east, you know, just heading east.
- 13:29Dayna Roselli: And I got to see the show from the highway, just FYI.
- 13:32Dayna Roselli: It's a perfect spot.
- 13:34Sean McAllister: But we're not recommending going out driving and looking at fireworks.
- 13:39Dayna Roselli: No, but you could if you got kids or something and you want to drive and pay attention to the road while they look up at the fireworks, because it could be you know, get them all in the van.
- 13:48Dayna Roselli: And but um, you know, and it wasn't my eyes weren't off the road because you can still see them in the distance.
- 13:55Dayna Roselli: But but yes, we don't wanna I don't want to hear like don't come suing me when you go watch the 90 fireworks and the 95 and you swerve off the road or something.
- 14:05Sean McAllister: I'm not telling you to do that, but they are visible, they are visible because they're up in the sky over downtown Las Vegas.
- 14:11Dayna Roselli: Yes, I was just like, wow, it made our city look so iconic.
- 14:15Sean McAllister: I mean, it's pretty cool that they're doing that.
- 14:17Dayna Roselli: It is every Friday at 9 15, big block party.
- 14:20Dayna Roselli: I love the whole thing.
- 14:21Dayna Roselli: We were asked to actually uh well not set off the fireworks, but hit the button.
- 14:25Sean McAllister: Yeah, they have a big plunger that ceremonially uh launches the the fireworks, right?
- 14:31Dayna Roselli: We were asked to do that, um, and we couldn't because oh, because we're gonna be out of town.
- 14:35Dayna Roselli: So hopefully sometime before the summer is up, we'll be able to do that.
- 14:40Sean McAllister: I hope so.
- 14:40Sean McAllister: That would be fun.
- 14:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and we'll let everyone know so that y'all come down and say hello.
- 14:45Sean McAllister: Uh sticking in downtown Las Vegas, the El Cortez is the oldest operating hotel casino in Las Vegas.
- 14:54Sean McAllister: It opened back in the 1940s, and they're getting ready to do some major renovations.
- 15:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, the hotel was founded by Bugsy Siegel, later owned by Las Vegas legend Jackie Gaughan.
- 15:08Dayna Roselli: He was Kenny Epstein's mentor, who is now the CEO and chairman of the El Cortez.
- 15:13Dayna Roselli: So we said, Hey, can we talk to Kenny?
- 15:15Dayna Roselli: We want to, you know, get the low down.
- 15:16Dayna Roselli: What's going on?
- 15:17Dayna Roselli: How's he doing?
- 15:18Dayna Roselli: How's the property?
- 15:19Dayna Roselli: He's determined to make improvements, and he has such a long history in Las Vegas.
- 15:24Dayna Roselli: So we actually went over, we sat down with Kenny to talk about the history, what's new, and what's coming soon.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: I started Caesars Palace.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: I started Caesars Palace in 19, uh, when it opened up, 1966, the day it opened.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: It was a great experience.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: I learned a lot and uh started my career.
- 15:41Dayna Roselli: What did you do at Caesars?
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: Bacchara.
- 15:43SPEAKER_01: I was a Bacchara floorman, then a ship boss, and then executive, and then uh Jackie says, come on with me.
- 15:50SPEAKER_01: And I bought it with him in 1975.
- 15:54SPEAKER_01: You have to take care of your customers and you uh you just gotta make the place better.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: And and how we're making it better, we're we're still keeping the same uh sort of, I don't know how to say it, time warp as when the place was, how it started, and we're just keeping that same feeling, but upgrading everything.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: If we made this place modern, uh we'd just be another another place.
- 16:17SPEAKER_01: We gotta keep the same feeling.
- 16:19Dayna Roselli: Is there anything that we need to walk around and see?
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, it's it's sort of strange to be proud of a place that you can walk upstairs to go to your room.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: But that's it.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: It's like the old cowboy movies, you know, when they had the balcony and the guy fell off the balcony.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: We've got that.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: We've got 47 original rooms built in 1941.
- 16:37SPEAKER_01: So uh, of course, we've changed everything in there.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: We fix up the new plumbing, new bathrooms, new rooms, new everything, but new doors even.
- 16:46SPEAKER_01: We have a great, great designer, Gisla, and she she put all red doors on it, so it's sort of exciting.
- 16:52Dayna Roselli: Tell me some of the things that you're doing besides just the rooms.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: Well, we uh we we put a new Starbucks in.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: First, we did the rooms.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: That's done.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: New bathrooms on the casino level, that's done.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: And then starting July 1st, we're having a big expansion.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: We're taking the the whole east end of the hotel, which used to be the coffee shop.
- 17:12SPEAKER_01: Uh we're knocking all those walls down.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: It used to be kino and then and coffee shop.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: We're knocking it all down, we're expanding.
- 17:19SPEAKER_01: We're putting two new bars in.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: Uh, we're putting in a show bar and a roulette bar, it's gonna be called a roulette bar, and we're putting in a Chinese noodle bar, noodle restaurant.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be great.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: Shingless restaurants on Charleston, they're gonna they're gonna own it.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: And I love their food, and that's that's so I asked them first, and they would they said they jumped at it, and so we're all set.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: People choose the El Cortez too for movie sets and everything.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: Oh, yes, we've had several movies.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: We we've had Hacks, the TV program, and uh now we have a big movie coming up.
- 17:49SPEAKER_01: What's the what's the name of the movie?
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: Easy Waltz?
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: Easy's Waltz.
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: And Al Pacino's in it, so uh it's a big deal.
- 17:55Dayna Roselli: Don't you think it's important to keep the the choice and preserve the history?
- 18:00SPEAKER_01: Oh, absolutely, absolutely.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: But I'm sure so glad that uh they're building new hotels here because the more hotels they build in Las Vegas, the better it is for Las Vegas and the better it is for us.
- 18:10Sean McAllister: And you know, Dana, we love when we come across coin slot machines.
- 18:15Sean McAllister: You know, the the old school slot machines where you hear the clink.
- 18:19Sean McAllister: Well, they've got about 60 of them over at the El Cortez.
- 18:23Sean McAllister: They have that, you know, a little slot parlor that that houses all these coin machines, which I love.
- 18:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's so cool when you can do that and you hear the clinking, you know, when someone wins.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: Um, also, I'd asked him a little bit about like, hey, do you get more locals or more tourists?
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: And he was like, you know, we used to get more locals, but now it's about even.
- 18:42Dayna Roselli: So we're getting locals and tourists here at the El Cortez.
- 18:45Dayna Roselli: So you can tell, like, you know, things are coming up.
- 18:48Dayna Roselli: People are wanting to go into these older casinos and you know, experience experience the nostalgia.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: Um, but like you mentioned, it's the oldest continually operating hotel casino in Las Vegas.
- 19:00Sean McAllister: Right.
- 19:01Dayna Roselli: So is it the Golden Gate might be the oldest?
- 19:04Sean McAllister: The Golden Gate is the oldest like hotel.
- 19:06Sean McAllister: Right.
- 19:07Sean McAllister: But it was it didn't originally have gaming.
- 19:15Sean McAllister: Um, by the way, I'm looking forward to the the new bars that they're building over there.
- 19:19Sean McAllister: The show bar.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: That roulette bar looks fun.
- 19:21Sean McAllister: The roulette bar looks incredible.
- 19:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:23Sean McAllister: And it is uh McCarthy construction, are the ones, and they've been responsible for a lot of big construction projects, including Allegiant Stadium, I believe.
- 19:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they do so much in town, so I love that they're working on that.
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:38Dayna Roselli: Um, so you know it'll be done right.
- 19:39Dayna Roselli: That's hey, this week we are doing tons of dinners and lunches for the world's 50 best restaurant awards.
- 19:46Dayna Roselli: Um, we'll have more on that next week, but the Venetian zoo and stuff, the win resorts world, we've talked about it before.
- 19:53Dayna Roselli: Uh, all the best chefs from around the world are in town.
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: There are pop-ups and events everywhere.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: It's a really big deal.
- 20:00Sean McAllister: Yeah, it is.
- 20:01Sean McAllister: Um, we also just interviewed comedian Josh Wolf.
- 20:04Sean McAllister: He has a residency Mondays at 7:30 over at Jimmy Kimmel's Comedy Club.
- 20:10Sean McAllister: Um, he's got a continual show every single Monday, uh, along with his son.
- 20:16Sean McAllister: So we went backstage to his dressing room, caught up with Josh, and we'll have that for you uh in one of our upcoming episodes as well.
- 20:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:25Dayna Roselli: And he also moved to Vegas over the last few years.
- 20:28Dayna Roselli: Everyone's moving here.
- 20:29Dayna Roselli: They are.
- 20:30Dayna Roselli: We also talked to Terry Fader recently, who has an all-new show over at the Strat.
- 20:35Dayna Roselli: Now, this is a 5 p.m.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: show.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 20:38Sean McAllister: That's great.
- 20:39Dayna Roselli: He is multi-talented.
- 20:41Dayna Roselli: Uh, if you've never seen Terry, or if you have, um, you know what we're talking about.
- 20:46Dayna Roselli: If you haven't, you need to go see him.
- 20:47Dayna Roselli: We get an exclusive backstage tour in our latest TV episode.
- 20:51Dayna Roselli: So, in order to visually see that, we're gonna put that episode up on our YouTube.
- 20:56Dayna Roselli: But before that, we sat down with him right inside the theater at the Strat.
- 21:01Dayna Roselli: Well, I am on stage with Terry Fader and Winston.
- 21:04Dayna Roselli: Yes, I'm here at the Strat.
- 21:06Dayna Roselli: Look at this.
- 21:07SPEAKER_05: One of the things I love about this place is when you walk in and you're a fan of my show.
- 21:12SPEAKER_05: And of course, of me.
- 21:13SPEAKER_05: Of Winston, of course, you're just gonna really feel like you've suddenly entered a place that is for the fans of the Terry Fader show.
- 21:21SPEAKER_05: And the Winston show.
- 21:22SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 21:22SPEAKER_05: And so it's this place is just it's gonna blow your mind.
- 21:26SPEAKER_05: And and trust me, the show will blow your mind too.
- 21:29SPEAKER_05: We have just, we've got technology, talent, music, comedy.
- 21:32SPEAKER_05: It's just unbelievable.
- 21:34Dayna Roselli: You have been here in Vegas how long?
- 21:35Dayna Roselli: Because I know it's over 10 years.
- 21:36Dayna Roselli: Now I'm calculating in my head.
- 21:37Dayna Roselli: I was at the red carpet.
- 21:39SPEAKER_05: 17 years.
- 21:40Dayna Roselli: Of the opening.
- 21:40Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 21:41Dayna Roselli: So I've been here, yeah, I've been here 20 years.
- 21:43Dayna Roselli: It makes sense.
- 21:43SPEAKER_05: 17 years, uh, but I did two years at the Hilton, so I've been in Vegas for 17 years.
- 21:48SPEAKER_05: Oh my goodness.
- 21:49SPEAKER_05: And we haven't aged a bit.
- 21:50Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 21:51Dayna Roselli: And you've been here so long that the mirage is closing.
- 21:54SPEAKER_07: Yeah, well, we don't care about that.
- 21:55SPEAKER_07: We're the strat.
- 21:56SPEAKER_05: Oh, well.
- 21:58SPEAKER_05: I'm sure people care that the Mirage is closing.
- 22:01SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but I'm not there, so we don't they don't care.
- 22:03SPEAKER_05: Well, that's what he thinks, but it is kind of sad.
- 22:05SPEAKER_05: It's it's kind of sad to see.
- 22:06SPEAKER_05: Well, it's gonna be reopening, though.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: It is, it is.
- 22:08Dayna Roselli: But it is exciting to move around and be in a new place.
- 22:11Dayna Roselli: Um, so are you first of all, the fact that you're so quick just shows the talent of you.
- 22:17SPEAKER_06: What?
- 22:18SPEAKER_06: You mean the talent of me?
- 22:20SPEAKER_06: Well it gets a little confusing, doesn't it?
- 22:24Dayna Roselli: But I mean, what you do is it is incredible.
- 22:26Dayna Roselli: I always say you've got a great voice, then you sound like the the person that's singing the song, then you do your original songs and you have a wonderful voice, then you're funny.
- 22:36Dayna Roselli: I mean, all this together, it really is a Vegas show.
- 22:42SPEAKER_06: Underpression.
- 22:44SPEAKER_06: You sing now.
- 22:45SPEAKER_06: Okay.
- 22:46Dayna Roselli: Underpression.
- 22:48SPEAKER_06: Good job.
- 22:48SPEAKER_06: Thank you.
- 22:49Dayna Roselli: Now let's talk about this five o'clock show.
- 22:51Dayna Roselli: I love this time.
- 22:52Dayna Roselli: Me and Sean always say anytime I can go to a show, then go to dinner, and then be in bed by nine o'clock.
- 22:58SPEAKER_05: You know, people are like, Why did you why did you want the five o'clock?
- 23:01SPEAKER_05: I said, Are you kidding me?
- 23:02SPEAKER_05: I've been I've been in Vegas for 17 years.
- 23:04SPEAKER_05: And he has no time for anything except taking care of the turtle, care of the turtle.
- 23:08SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 23:08SPEAKER_05: That's true, but you know, five o'clock, you can bring the kids.
- 23:12SPEAKER_05: And by the way, it's a PG 13 show.
- 23:14SPEAKER_05: Every joke that I have for the adults has a clean explanation for the kid.
- 23:18SPEAKER_05: The the adults just have to figure out what the clean explanation is.
- 23:21SPEAKER_05: But um, it is a family show, and you can bring the kids, and then you can go to dinner and still get the kids in bed by 7 30.
- 23:27SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's just the best, the best, the best.
- 23:29SPEAKER_05: I love it.
- 23:29SPEAKER_05: And when I'm done, I get to go see, you know, Garth Brooks, or I get to go see the Rolling Stones or Carrot Top or David Copperfield or Chris Angel.
- 23:36SPEAKER_05: It doesn't, I get to see shows for a change.
- 23:38SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 23:38SPEAKER_05: I've never I never get to go and see anything because I'm always performing.
- 23:41SPEAKER_05: So this is gonna be great for all of us.
- 23:43Dayna Roselli: Even in your show, you always, you know, enforce family's important, America's important, our military is important.
- 23:48Dayna Roselli: Those are things that I wouldn't say you saturate the whole show with that, but you that's what you love, that's what you believe in.
- 23:54Dayna Roselli: So usually the crowd is is really into that.
- 23:57SPEAKER_05: They are, yes.
- 23:58SPEAKER_05: Especially my crowd.
- 23:58SPEAKER_05: You know, I think I'm very much Middle America.
- 24:01SPEAKER_05: I think uh the the the left and right coasts call it the flyover states, but my you know, my fans really are the flyover state fans.
- 24:08SPEAKER_05: I grew up in the flyover states.
- 24:09SPEAKER_05: I was, I grew up in Texas.
- 24:10SPEAKER_05: My wife grew up in Mississippi and Texas.
- 24:13SPEAKER_05: So, so yeah, we we really are part of uh Middle America, and and so those values are are very much our own.
- 24:19Dayna Roselli: Okay, well, we're Vegas Revealed is the name of our show.
- 24:21Dayna Roselli: So uh Winston, you have to reveal something that nobody's maybe nobody knows, nobody's heard before, something, you know.
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: Maybe a rumor or a rumor.
- 24:33SPEAKER_06: Okay, okay, I got a good rumor.
- 24:35SPEAKER_06: This is something most people don't know.
- 24:37SPEAKER_06: What is it?
- 24:38SPEAKER_06: Terry.
- 24:39SPEAKER_06: What?
- 24:40SPEAKER_06: Is it about me?
- 24:41SPEAKER_06: It's about Terry.
- 24:42SPEAKER_06: What?
- 24:43SPEAKER_06: Terry can actually sing and move his lips at the same time.
- 24:50SPEAKER_06: I know you're shocked, aren't you?
- 24:52SPEAKER_06: I'm shocked.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: That is a big reveal.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: That is a big reveal.
- 24:55Dayna Roselli: But that is some talent.
- 24:56Dayna Roselli: Come see Terry Fader and Winston and the cast of characters.
- 25:00Dayna Roselli: I'm such a talent, and you will not leave disappointed.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: You'll be back again and again and again.
- 25:06Dayna Roselli: Congratulations on the new show.
- 25:07Dayna Roselli: Thank you.
- 25:08Sean McAllister: That Winston, you never know what he's gonna say, do you?
- 25:11Dayna Roselli: You don't.
- 25:12Sean McAllister: Those talking turtles, I'll tell you what.
- 25:14Dayna Roselli: He gets me every time, though.
- 25:16Dayna Roselli: I'll say I never bore a Winston.
- 25:18Dayna Roselli: Like, he is so funny.
- 25:20Sean McAllister: He Winston is cute.
- 25:21Sean McAllister: I like little Winston the turtle.
- 25:24Dayna Roselli: All right, let's let's let's talk about the dads, all right?
- 25:27Dayna Roselli: We got a Father's Day coming up here on a Sunday.
- 25:31Dayna Roselli: What is it, June 16th?
- 25:32Dayna Roselli: June 16th.
- 25:33Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 25:34Dayna Roselli: Well, it's time to double the fun for dad because Fantasy is doing two shows on Father's Day.
- 25:41Dayna Roselli: You know, Fantasy is such a long time running show over at the Luxor.
- 25:46Sean McAllister: Yeah, almost 25 years continually performing here on the Las Vegas Strip over at Luxor.
- 25:54Sean McAllister: But if you've never experienced Fantasy, it has been around for so long.
- 25:58Sean McAllister: And we spoke with the creator and choreographer, Anita Mann, about this show that really doesn't stop evolving.
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: We do the show to please the people, and that's what I think keeps us going because every year we change it, and every year we say, What would make it better?
- 26:13SPEAKER_02: So we just keep doing our job and making it stronger, and I have an incredible support system here at the Luxor.
- 26:21SPEAKER_02: The entire team here.
- 26:24SPEAKER_02: They've been with me since almost the very beginning, and we're just blessed to have a team like this.
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: We are a show for couples.
- 26:31SPEAKER_02: We really are.
- 26:32SPEAKER_02: They they come and celebrate uh events, anniversaries, birthdays.
- 26:38SPEAKER_02: We have bachelor parties, we have bachelorette parties, we have uh well, we have to be 18 to come, but we've had 18-year-old birthdays and 21-year-old birthdays, and I just want everyone to be happy at the show, and it's really for couples.
- 26:54SPEAKER_02: It's it's not a it's an entertaining variety show because the most important thing is we want them to feel like they've gotten to know the ladies and that they're familiar with them, and that they're approachable, and they are really connecting to a Las Vegas performer on the strip in a very up close and personal way.
- 27:14SPEAKER_02: And that's what I really want to do is let them experience a show, but also see that they're really wonderful people behind that mask or behind the scenes right now on stage as well.
- 27:27SPEAKER_02: We're on seven nights a week for 52 weeks a year.
- 27:31SPEAKER_02: We never miss this show.
- 27:33SPEAKER_02: Please come and see the show because we're still going strong.
- 27:39Sean McAllister: And Dana, uh, for these Father's Day shows, are you excited to hear what dads what a couple lucky dads are going to get?
- 27:47Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 27:47Sean McAllister: They're going to get a fantasy or treasure chest filled with merchandise that is signed by the cast.
- 27:56Sean McAllister: One lucky dad at each performance is going to be chosen.
- 28:00Dayna Roselli: Okay, I love it.
- 28:01Dayna Roselli: I love that they're doing doubling it up for dad.
- 28:04Sean McAllister: It's nice, isn't it?
- 28:05Dayna Roselli: It really is.
- 28:06Dayna Roselli: You know, it is a variety show, and uh they do a variety of things in the show.
- 28:12Dayna Roselli: Um, if you feel like you don't know what to expect, you can go visually see some clips.
- 28:19Dayna Roselli: Again, this is gonna be in our television show that we put on our YouTube.
- 28:23Dayna Roselli: So check it out.
- 28:24Dayna Roselli: Um it's a it's a show, it's a staple, and just go have fun.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: All right, let's take a quick break to get a message from our title sponsor, Level Up Law.
- 28:33SPEAKER_03: Level Up Law is looking to help you.
- 28:36SPEAKER_03: You might have heard about the recent lawsuits surrounding Ozempic.
- 28:39SPEAKER_03: It's concerning, right?
- 28:41SPEAKER_03: Unfortunately, a lot of people have been experiencing some serious issues from taking semi or trzepatides, including severe vomiting, hospitalization, pancreatic issues.
- 28:52SPEAKER_03: The list goes on and on.
- 28:53SPEAKER_03: If you've experienced any of this, you are not alone.
- 28:56SPEAKER_03: And here's the thing Level Up Law is here to help.
- 29:00SPEAKER_03: We already have a team of lawyers researching this issue and preparing to help those who need it.
- 29:05SPEAKER_03: Don't hesitate to reach out to our team if a doctor prescribed you these drugs and you're experiencing issues.
- 29:11SPEAKER_03: Give us a call at 855-LevelUp.
- 29:14SPEAKER_03: That's 855 Level Up, and we will answer your questions.
- 29:19SPEAKER_03: Remember, you're not alone.
- 29:21SPEAKER_03: Level Up Law has got your back.
- 29:25Sean McAllister: You know, Vegas is known kind of as the the place of excess.
- 29:29Sean McAllister: We have everything here, right?
- 29:31Sean McAllister: And I think there's kind of also uh an idea that there's a lot of waste going on here, too, but there's also a lot of work going on to make sure that waste isn't happening.
- 29:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so we wanted to do a big shout out to MGM Resorts for donating so much food to families in need.
- 29:50Dayna Roselli: They actually just hit five million meals.
- 29:54Dayna Roselli: They surpassed the goal of donating five million meals into communities uh where they do have casinos across the country early.
- 30:03Dayna Roselli: So they had expected to achieve this goal in 2025, but they've hit it already.
- 30:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, they have.
- 30:09Sean McAllister: So um they're you know, freezing a lot of the meals that are made for banquets and uh conventions, and we're talking about the food that's like untouched, that's been prepared and not served.
- 30:23Sean McAllister: Um, so they freeze that and they donate it out into the community to various organizations, including uh Three Square Food Bank here in southern Nevada that does so much to help people with food insecurity.
- 30:36Sean McAllister: So this is uh a great achievement and it's a great initiative.
- 30:41Dayna Roselli: It is, and a lot of times I think you often hear people saying, like, what do they do with all this food?
- 30:46Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 30:47Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 30:47Dayna Roselli: Well, now you know.
- 30:48Dayna Roselli: And the five million meals were donated through the MGM Resort's Feeding Forward program.
- 30:53Dayna Roselli: That's what it's called.
- 30:53Dayna Roselli: So again, big shout out.
- 30:55Dayna Roselli: Uh, love that.
- 30:56Dayna Roselli: Good to know, and I think it's important, like you said, for people to know that visit here and that live here.
- 31:02Sean McAllister: All right, let's do some tips.
- 31:07Sean McAllister: Dana, when you were a kid, were you uh did you play with the light bright?
- 31:12Sean McAllister: I did.
- 31:12Sean McAllister: Did you have one?
- 31:13Dayna Roselli: I don't remember if I had one, but I know I definitely played with one.
- 31:16Dayna Roselli: Like I don't know if it's at friends' houses or whatever.
- 31:19Dayna Roselli: I don't know if I owned one, but I definitely know what it is, whether we did it in school or friends, and it was fun.
- 31:25Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was.
- 31:25Sean McAllister: It was a huge toy back in like the 70s, 80s.
- 31:29Sean McAllister: Um, and now you can actually experience Light Bright in a larger-than-life way over at Illuminarium.
- 31:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and Illuminarium is at Area 15, which is such a cool place.
- 31:41Dayna Roselli: If you visit here, it's really close to the strip, just to the west of I-15 in the strip.
- 31:46Dayna Roselli: So you gotta get there.
- 31:47Dayna Roselli: Illuminarium is one of the spots there.
- 31:50Dayna Roselli: They have so many cool things going on all the time.
- 31:53Dayna Roselli: This is gonna keep you cool all summer, though, because you walk in, it's nice and cool.
- 31:57Dayna Roselli: We talked to the general manager about this new experience.
- 32:00SPEAKER_00: We're excited to introduce Light Bright Worlds of Wonder.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: Uh, it's a great show that reaches across so many different generations, whether you grew up with the the product in the 80s with the iconic toy in the 80s or 70s, even, uh, and now to today where the light bright actually can fit in the palm of your hand.
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: So it's uh a great show for mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, or even the the kids getting out of school now.
- 32:23Dayna Roselli: So um tell me a little bit about what people will experience.
- 32:26Dayna Roselli: Walk me through that.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: So they'll get to come in and they'll get to see our first experience that sets you up with the whole story of Light Bright and the world of wonder that we bring you into.
- 32:35SPEAKER_00: We bring you into three different uh interactive realms, which are really cool.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: Uh, an underwater, undersea theme, an out of s out of space theme, as well as a prehistoric realm where you get to experience dinosaurs and a lot of interactive elements there too.
- 32:50SPEAKER_00: So there's 12 different interactive scenes where things will happen and you can interact with them and they'll interact with you.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: Uh, you'll be able to use your phone at certain times to create artwork and bring it to life on the screen and it'll move around the room.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: So a lot of unique things like that with the technology.
- 33:05Dayna Roselli: And it's important, you know, Las Vegas is known for so many things casinos, the strip, but to have the the opportunity to have something like this for folks that live here and visitors.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: Well, it's great for families.
- 33:16SPEAKER_00: Again, trying to find Las Vegas is known to for its gambling and entertainment.
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: It tends to be more adults, so we like the family image and making sure that there's something for both visitors as well as our local community that can bring out uh the family together and experience this this show together.
- 33:32Dayna Roselli: You can see Light Bright World of Wonder over at Illuminarium, 11 a.m.
- 33:36Dayna Roselli: to 4 p.m.
- 33:37Dayna Roselli: daily.
- 33:38Sean McAllister: And here's a couple other quick tips for you.
- 33:40Sean McAllister: Um, Resorts World is still doing its 20% off um at a lot of its restaurants if you have a Nevada ID.
- 33:48Sean McAllister: So this is for all the Las Vegas locals.
- 33:51Sean McAllister: If you go over to Resorts World, um, this is kind of a promotion that they've been running for a few months now and they've extended it.
- 33:59Sean McAllister: Um, it's good Sunday through Thursday.
- 34:03Sean McAllister: Uh Carver Steak and Aqua are not a part of the 20% promotion.
