Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett. All Right, again, a big
- 0:06Speaker 1: thanks to Tripper for sponsoring this podcast, and uh well
- 0:10Speaker 1: we'll fire up the airtime pro stream and do something
- 0:14Speaker 1: participlarly Employment awareness States. Give me a few minutes here.
- 0:18Speaker 1: But before I go any further, I had mentioned the
- 0:21Speaker 1: other day how Gavin Newsom was telling Ice what are
- 0:25Speaker 1: you afraid of? Meaning why don't you just unmasked? What
- 0:28Speaker 1: are you afraid of? And I I always believe in
- 0:32Speaker 1: standing up for law enforcement and not having them doxed.
- 0:38Speaker 1: And I always believe in balance. Right, if you're gonna
- 0:40Speaker 1: call out ICE for being masked, why didn't you call
- 0:43Speaker 1: out all the BLM rioters for being masked? Where where's
- 0:46Speaker 1: that uh double you know, talk about a double standard?
- 0:50Speaker 2: Right?
- 0:50Speaker 1: Where where's that justice? Lie? But I will not not
- 0:54Speaker 1: hold Ice accountable. We've seen a few disturbing videos over
- 1:00Speaker 1: the last few days, but the one that's really sticking
- 1:04Speaker 1: with me is this woman who was outside an immigration
- 1:07Speaker 1: court in New York City pleading with Ice to return
- 1:12Speaker 1: her husband. I mean, look politics aside. When you get
- 1:16Speaker 1: your family ripped away from you, it is traumatic, it
- 1:19Speaker 1: is awful, and you want to do whatever you can
- 1:21Speaker 1: to get them back, to get them back. So I
- 1:27Speaker 1: do not blame this woman one bit for crying, for
- 1:30Speaker 1: begging for them to release her husband. But remember that
- 1:34Speaker 1: how that escalated and the woman was pushed was pushed
- 1:41Speaker 1: to the ground by an ICE officer. Why have some
- 1:48Speaker 1: news for you? And I'm really pissed about this that
- 1:51Speaker 1: officer returned to duty after being initially fired. He was
- 1:57Speaker 1: put back to duty because there's a preliminary review of
- 2:04Speaker 1: the incident. What review do you need to keep this
- 2:08Speaker 1: guy employed?
- 2:11Speaker 2: You know?
- 2:11Speaker 1: And I am all for law enforcement, but I'm also
- 2:14Speaker 1: for holding officers accountable. I hope Derek Chauvin rots in hell,
- 2:22Speaker 1: but I will say this, you have to fire this guy.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I get there's a review and all that, but the
- 2:34Speaker 1: Department of Homeland Security themselves denounced the officer's conduct as
- 2:39Speaker 1: unacceptable and beneath the men and women of ICE. So
- 2:43Speaker 1: then why is he allowed back on the force. And
- 2:48Speaker 1: then you see this other guy, and I get it
- 2:50Speaker 1: he was taunting ICE agents, but then they run after
- 2:52Speaker 1: him on the bicycle and attack of It's like we're
- 2:56Speaker 1: watching the most insane videos out of all that. Yes,
- 3:02Speaker 1: and and the not good side of ICE now always say,
- 3:06Speaker 1: what do you mean there's a good side advice. I
- 3:07Speaker 1: always believe there's a good side of law enforcement and
- 3:09Speaker 1: keeping law. I do believe in that. But when these
- 3:13Speaker 1: officers are literally with their badge rough housing a poor
- 3:17Speaker 1: woman trying to find out why her husband's and immigration
- 3:22Speaker 1: court awaiting deportation, it's unacceptable and it's vile too that
- 3:30Speaker 1: he's back on duty. Our eyes to law enforcement are
- 3:37Speaker 1: held to out the highest personal standards, and the officer
- 3:39Speaker 1: being relieved with current duties.
- 3:40Speaker 2: As reconductible investigation. That's what they said Friday, and now
- 3:48Speaker 2: he's back on duty. As my friend Ryan would say,
- 3:52Speaker 2: make it makes sense.
- 3:56Speaker 1: Because I don't understand how this officer has been this
- 4:00Speaker 1: one can be allowed to be back on But I
- 4:05Speaker 1: will again I've said this before. I think we should
- 4:09Speaker 1: allow ICE to do its job, but when they go
- 4:12Speaker 1: over the top, it must be called out. Let me
- 4:16Speaker 1: say that again. ICE must be able to do its job,
- 4:19Speaker 1: but when it gets over the top, they must be
- 4:22Speaker 1: called out because if they want to be in this
- 4:27Speaker 1: upstanding law enforcement masks or masked or not masked, maybe
- 4:34Speaker 1: not pushing a woman who's clearly in distress to the
- 4:39Speaker 1: ground or a biker, a delivery guy on a bike
- 4:45Speaker 1: who's just you know, throwing spats at you. You know,
- 4:49Speaker 1: it's awful. Yes, it's stupid that he was tolding them,
- 4:51Speaker 1: but then you push him on the ground. Come on,
- 4:57Speaker 1: there's a way to keep us safe, and then there's
- 4:59Speaker 1: a way to abuse behind the badge. And that is
- 5:02Speaker 1: what I felt I've been seeing lately, and it's uncalled
- 5:07Speaker 1: for and it's nothing about you know, I'm not saying
- 5:12Speaker 1: defund everything. No, we need the NYPD, we need law enforcement.
- 5:17Speaker 1: But with that comes responsibility and accepting it. And by
- 5:23Speaker 1: putting this guy back on the duty, I know he's
- 5:25Speaker 1: under review, but just there's not much to review. It
- 5:27Speaker 1: looks horrible. He's back on the job. According to the
- 5:36Speaker 1: Ice Ice they said the woman is also in the
- 5:38Speaker 1: US unlawfully and faces deportation proceedings as well, but that
- 5:44Speaker 1: gives no excuse for pushing her to the ground the
- 5:48Speaker 1: way they did, or for any anyway. So I hope
- 5:57Speaker 1: this guy can lose his job, and I hope those
- 6:01Speaker 1: at rough House, instead of calmly doing their job, get
- 6:06Speaker 1: face accountability. And you know the other thing about social
- 6:10Speaker 1: media today is we're only seeing the rough housing right.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I don't think we're ever seeing ICE in a good light,
- 6:16Speaker 1: and that's just because of the nature of what they do.
- 6:20Speaker 1: But we have to remember their officers, they have families,
- 6:24Speaker 1: and I think the fact that they are trying to
- 6:26Speaker 1: keep us safe. Dean Kine too, apparently is it is
- 6:33Speaker 1: commendable that they're trying to But there's a decorum, there's
- 6:37Speaker 1: a way to do it, and pushing a woman to
- 6:41Speaker 1: the ground is not the way to do it. That's
- 6:46Speaker 1: not how we have one leg up on keeping our
- 6:50Speaker 1: immigration system safe. It's just a way to make it
- 6:57Speaker 1: even more controversial, even more in the public eye. And unfortunately,
- 7:04Speaker 1: if he gets if he gets a stay, then I
- 7:07Speaker 1: do believe that that's a precedent for more rough housing.
- 7:12Speaker 1: And that's not that to me, that's not how an
- 7:14Speaker 1: officer should be. You can do your job, but you
- 7:19Speaker 1: have to do it the right way. And I'm pretty
- 7:22Speaker 1: sure that's why p TEX has had this big, on
- 7:24Speaker 1: a bigger scale military meeting yesterday, to do your job
- 7:27Speaker 1: the right way. Well, maybe if we see this guy
- 7:36Speaker 1: fired for good, it'll set the tone for how they
- 7:39Speaker 1: expect officers of the law to behave. And I think
- 7:45Speaker 1: that's what we have to do that a person has
- 7:47Speaker 1: to be set and it starts with the firing of
- 7:54Speaker 1: this ass who threw her to the ground at twenty
- 8:00Speaker 1: six Ventral Plaza. That's it for one lug up Alex News.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I had to follow up on this because I felt
- 8:06Speaker 1: I was very very pro law enforcement defending ice and
- 8:11Speaker 1: there are times where you just cannot defend their behavior
- 8:13Speaker 1: and actions. And I say that law enforcement across the
- 8:17Speaker 1: board and we're gonna call them out when they need
- 8:19Speaker 1: to be here at one leg of Alex
