- 0:03Speaker 1: Can we just go? Yeah? Welcome to for the dads.
- 0:08Speaker 1: This is a show by a dad, by as soon
- 0:12Speaker 1: to be future Yeah, future Dad for the dads. I
- 0:16Speaker 1: guess we should start by introducing ourselves before we do.
- 0:21Speaker 1: As you guys are watching this, listening to this, consuming this.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I know at some point we will have a separate channel,
- 0:27Speaker 1: whether that be on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Pods, wherever you
- 0:30Speaker 1: get your podcasts, be on the lookout for that. I
- 0:32Speaker 1: know you guys are listening to this. I'm Busting with
- 0:34Speaker 1: the Boys right now, but if you're showing up to
- 0:36Speaker 1: tune in for some good dad talk, make sure you subscribe.
- 0:39Speaker 1: That helps support the boys. It's easy for you to do,
- 0:42Speaker 1: and we love also leave comments because we will absolutely
- 0:45Speaker 1: love hearing your guys' feedback as we go through this
- 0:47Speaker 1: first episode. My name is Will Compton. I played Guaranteed
- 0:52Speaker 1: nine years in the League, debatably ten. I am the
- 0:56Speaker 1: co creator of Busting with the Boys. I am a
- 1:00Speaker 1: full time dad. I am a husband and my wife
- 1:05Speaker 1: Charle Charro Compton. Sorry, your boy is super nervous for this.
- 1:09Speaker 1: This is a project that is very near and dear
- 1:11Speaker 1: to both mine and Sherm's heart. It's something that I
- 1:14Speaker 1: know we are super excited about. But at the same time,
- 1:16Speaker 1: with this being our first episode, we're kind of in
- 1:18Speaker 1: a different studio. Lights are off. This being our first one,
- 1:22Speaker 1: it's very nerve wrecking. But my wife and I we
- 1:25Speaker 1: have two beautiful daughters, Cirulian Bell and Scottie Joe Lee.
- 1:29Speaker 1: And with me, who is the producer of the show,
- 1:32Speaker 1: he will also be very pivotal for the show is
- 1:35Speaker 1: Sherman Young. Sherman, would you like to introduce yourself.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Hello, My name is Sherman, producer here at Busting with
- 1:40Speaker 2: the Boys. I'll be producing on the show. Talking a
- 1:43Speaker 2: little bit with Will. I helped produce on the bus
- 1:46Speaker 2: as well, do some edits in the back of the
- 1:48Speaker 2: bus with the boys. And it's been like two almost
- 1:52Speaker 2: two years now that been with Busting with the Boys.
- 1:55Speaker 1: You guys, you brought you in. Jilly Bean, shout out,
- 1:58Speaker 1: Jilly Bean.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Shout out.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Bit about me played one year of high school football,
- 2:03Speaker 2: arguably two married for a year and some change to
- 2:08Speaker 2: my wife Jilly Bean or Jill Young. In future future, Dad,
- 2:15Speaker 2: I have a baby on the way, and I have
- 2:18Speaker 2: some news on that, so I don't want to like
- 2:20Speaker 2: spoil it, but I got some you got some updates.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I got some breaking updates, did you guys?
- 2:24Speaker 1: Came up from Texas.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Came up from Texas from Fort Worth, Alito to be
- 2:29Speaker 2: more specific if you're from the DFW area. And yeah,
- 2:34Speaker 2: just kind of was sending memes and stuff on Twitter
- 2:37Speaker 2: to Will and Taylor and barraging. We have Garrett here too,
- 2:42Speaker 2: that's helping us with the cameras. Was in Garrett's DMS,
- 2:45Speaker 2: everybody's dms. Just busting. Please hire me. I've been in
- 2:50Speaker 2: like film production for quite a while and then commercial
- 2:53Speaker 2: production as well. Did some directing and producing and we'll
- 2:58Speaker 2: get into that.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you have a bad ass of mine, and you
- 3:00Speaker 1: crush it with busting with the boys. You're going to
- 3:02Speaker 1: crush off for the dads. I feel like you your
- 3:06Speaker 1: positive energy that I feel like people have gotten glimpses of.
- 3:09Speaker 1: I'm very excited for you to kind of co host
- 3:12Speaker 1: this show with me.
- 3:13Speaker 2: I'm excited to I just to talk nerves as well.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Logan nerves, both guys, nervous.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Both nervous. Logan, who's a third party guy, that helps
- 3:24Speaker 2: a time with Busting with the Boys. He kept on
- 3:26Speaker 2: popping his head in before we hit the record button.
- 3:28Speaker 2: It was like, hey, last bit of uh, you know,
- 3:31Speaker 2: just some advice before y'all start rolling. And he asked
- 3:34Speaker 2: you if you were more nervous, like first time with
- 3:37Speaker 2: Busting with the Boys or first time with this, and
- 3:39Speaker 2: you said you were more nervous for Busting with the Boys.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Yeah. I feel like before the show, I was more
- 3:45Speaker 1: nervous for Busting with the Boys because that was it
- 3:48Speaker 1: was a very brand new project. It was the first
- 3:50Speaker 1: thing I've ever stepped out and done anything else in
- 3:52Speaker 1: other than football. But now that I'm sitting here talking
- 3:55Speaker 1: on this show for the first time, I'm thinking the
- 3:57Speaker 1: nerves might be a little bit higher for the dads.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Oh really yeah, yeah, yeah, just because again, bro, like
- 4:01Speaker 1: we're we're very excited about standing up the show talking
- 4:05Speaker 1: dad life, and we will get into that. I know
- 4:07Speaker 1: we're kind of rambling along right now. Yeah, but yeah,
- 4:10Speaker 1: it's just it's sick. It's it's cool that we have
- 4:13Speaker 1: you know, we started with the vision, We've had a
- 4:15Speaker 1: shit ton of help, like shout out the Boy, Garrett,
- 4:18Speaker 1: shout out Logan, shout out, Yeah, shout out the whole
- 4:21Speaker 1: team behind the scenes, like standing this brand up, we
- 4:23Speaker 1: have merchandise. It's really cool and I feel like I
- 4:28Speaker 1: feel like there's a space for more like dad conversations.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I always enjoy, you know, listening to dad podcasts. I
- 4:34Speaker 1: enjoy consuming content and we can get into like why
- 4:37Speaker 1: does this podcast exist? And essentially for me, it's spoiler alert.
- 4:42Speaker 1: I'm really into fatherhood. I love it. I hate it
- 4:45Speaker 1: at times. I think there's a lot of suck that
- 4:48Speaker 1: goes into it because there's a lot of intention you
- 4:50Speaker 1: have to put into it, and that is difficult to
- 4:52Speaker 1: do when you are trying to balance you know, running
- 4:55Speaker 1: the business of bus with the boys, like work life balance,
- 4:58Speaker 1: you know, thinking about your marriage and not losing yourself
- 5:00Speaker 1: so much in your marriage because you're so focused on
- 5:02Speaker 1: the kids. Also trying to focus on communicating with the kids.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Like I grew up in a household to where it
- 5:07Speaker 1: was three boys and my mom was very you know,
- 5:11Speaker 1: strong willed and tough, and I grew up around a
- 5:14Speaker 1: lot around a lot of boy energy, football kid growing
- 5:17Speaker 1: up all the sports, all the things. And when you
- 5:19Speaker 1: have your wife who is a you know, a former cheerleader.
- 5:22Speaker 1: She now operates the Bar three. She owns the Bar
- 5:24Speaker 1: three studios here in Nashville. Shout out, Shout out my dog,
- 5:28Speaker 1: my beautiful dog, Waffle, our English bulldog female two little girls.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Rue.
- 5:34Speaker 1: She is absolutely obsessed with princesses right now. And you
- 5:36Speaker 1: also thinking about outside of the work life balance, communicating
- 5:39Speaker 1: and being involved, being intentional with your marriage. You're also
- 5:42Speaker 1: thinking about how you communicate with two little girls where
- 5:45Speaker 1: you have like no experience to do. So. I find
- 5:48Speaker 1: myself gravitating a lot towards I've always been a podcast guy,
- 5:51Speaker 1: but listen to podcast conversations, diving into books, whether it's
- 5:55Speaker 1: for sleep training, whether it's the Daily Dad, I find
- 5:59Speaker 1: myself just gravitating towards a lot of dad content. And
- 6:02Speaker 1: I feel like when I hear dads or people speak
- 6:05Speaker 1: on parenthood, whether it's mom's, dad's, anybody, I find myself,
- 6:11Speaker 1: you know, able to kind of grab a lot of
- 6:13Speaker 1: perspective for my own situations, to where you're sitting in
- 6:16Speaker 1: the truck and you're like, yes, you go through that
- 6:19Speaker 1: shit too, and you got you go home and you
- 6:21Speaker 1: kind of tell your wife, Hey, you know, buddy over
- 6:23Speaker 1: here he was doing this or Hey, this couple did this,
- 6:25Speaker 1: or here's a little wrinkle that we could be dealing
- 6:26Speaker 1: with rue you know, my whole Instagram algorithm. I feel
- 6:29Speaker 1: like it's all parenthood. And I've always been being in
- 6:32Speaker 1: the content, being in the media space. It's you want
- 6:35Speaker 1: to create things that you're a consumer of, and I'm
- 6:37Speaker 1: a massive consumer of parenthood. I'm a massive consumer of fatherhood.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And I feel like that's why I had a big
- 6:44Speaker 1: itch and I felt a big pool to stand up
- 6:46Speaker 1: a show like this.
- 6:48Speaker 2: You too echo going off what you're saying with my
- 6:53Speaker 2: tweet that I put out when we did like launch
- 6:55Speaker 2: the trailer, I type that tweet out five hundred times
- 6:59Speaker 2: because I was trying to evoke like how passionate you
- 7:02Speaker 2: are about this subject, And every single time I wrote
- 7:05Speaker 2: it down, I was like, God, I can't put it
- 7:07Speaker 2: into words. But when I first started at Busting and
- 7:11Speaker 2: you would ask me to like connect and go to
- 7:13Speaker 2: coffee with you, it would initially it was about like
- 7:17Speaker 2: busting and how's moving you know, across the nation, blah
- 7:20Speaker 2: blah blah, but our conversation would always land on, hey,
- 7:24Speaker 2: are you and Jill thinking about kids? And we would
- 7:27Speaker 2: just like you be.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Hey, you really when you were posting these photos of Ru,
- 7:30Speaker 1: You're really getting You're really getting Jilly being in the
- 7:33Speaker 1: fever right now. I go, I'm gonna have to get
- 7:34Speaker 1: you to slow down. Bro.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Rue is way too cute and Jill is like truly
- 7:39Speaker 2: was struck with baby fever from Rue.
- 7:42Speaker 1: And that was a.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Massive problem that I was facing and in myself being
- 7:46Speaker 2: like I feel like I'm inadequate. I don't feel like
- 7:49Speaker 2: I'm there. Financially, I don't feel like I'm there. Maybe
- 7:53Speaker 2: like maturity wise, am I ready to be a dad?
- 7:56Speaker 2: Like I'm gonna have to be my life is over
- 7:59Speaker 2: and that's all about this other thing, yeah, this other
- 8:02Speaker 2: human But seeing the way that you and Taylor balance
- 8:05Speaker 2: work and family, I was like, I can't have a career.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I can have friends. I could be passionate about my
- 8:12Speaker 2: career but also be a great dad. And that's what
- 8:16Speaker 2: made me really want to pick your brain in those
- 8:17Speaker 2: coffees of like, hey, like how is it? Blah blah blah.
- 8:21Speaker 2: But the way that you lock in when you talk
- 8:23Speaker 2: about being a dad, it's like you're breaking down being
- 8:27Speaker 2: in the a gap like you get you really do,
- 8:30Speaker 2: like you break it down like it's film. When you
- 8:33Speaker 2: come back from like a great conversation with Charro or
- 8:36Speaker 2: some life lesson that you learn with ru hearing you
- 8:38Speaker 2: talk about it with just people in the office. That's
- 8:41Speaker 2: what made me believe in the show. I was like, dude,
- 8:43Speaker 2: he does this every day already, because I.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Realized who It's like, we're all going to fuck it
- 8:48Speaker 1: up often. Oh, be easy with the coaster. We're all
- 8:51Speaker 1: going to fuck it up often, and nobody has it
- 8:54Speaker 1: figured out, and there's no perfect formula. And there's times
- 8:56Speaker 1: where you're like in the whole parenthood conversations and you
- 8:59Speaker 1: feel like there's like a perfect way you have to
- 9:03Speaker 1: come off like you're doing it right or maybe you know,
- 9:05Speaker 1: I know people deal with you know, how much screen
- 9:08Speaker 1: time should they have? When you get your kids down
- 9:09Speaker 1: to sleep, Like you know, you might feel like your
- 9:12Speaker 1: child is sleeping well, and you might know a friend
- 9:14Speaker 1: that has a child the same exact age and they're
- 9:17Speaker 1: not getting a lot of sleep at night, and you
- 9:19Speaker 1: just you feel like, whether it's guilt or show, you
- 9:21Speaker 1: just there's so many emotions and you just realize we're
- 9:23Speaker 1: all trying to figure it out. I feel like that's
- 9:26Speaker 1: that's what the show is, sharing experience together, fucking it
- 9:29Speaker 1: up together, figuring it out together, and just showing up
- 9:32Speaker 1: the next day. Because that is that is like parenthood
- 9:36Speaker 1: in a nutshell. Yeah, because there's gonna be there's just
- 9:38Speaker 1: gonna be all that chaos. There's a lot of fun,
- 9:40Speaker 1: there's a lot of chaos. So I can get into
- 9:42Speaker 1: a whole entire Rosemary trip last week because it was
- 9:46Speaker 1: you know, you got a three year old, Now you
- 9:47Speaker 1: have a six month old. You're pack in the car,
- 9:49Speaker 1: you're doing all this stuff, you have an eight hour drive.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Like it is chaos at times Broyeah for just little
- 9:55Speaker 1: moments of when you're sitting on the beach and you're
- 9:58Speaker 1: just like and you finally have a calm moment and
- 9:59Speaker 1: you're like, this is why you do it. And then
- 10:02Speaker 1: you just that night when you're trying to put them
- 10:04Speaker 1: to bed, You're trying to do bedtime, you're trying to
- 10:06Speaker 1: feed him, you're trying to do all the things. Can
- 10:07Speaker 1: I watch can I watch little bear? Can I do this? Hey?
- 10:09Speaker 1: We got to go to bed. And then it's chaos
- 10:11Speaker 1: again until the next day, until you get to that
- 10:12Speaker 1: next moment wary you're like ah, this is this is
- 10:15Speaker 1: it right here? This is the life?
- 10:17Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and we could segue into actually, so how
- 10:21Speaker 2: the show will operate is will have an intro like this, yes,
- 10:25Speaker 2: and then we have like four to five segments that
- 10:27Speaker 2: will kind of cycle.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Through each week.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Yep, it'll never be permanent of like which ones, but
- 10:34Speaker 2: we wanted to give you all like a little taste,
- 10:35Speaker 2: a little flavor of some of our segments. And to
- 10:40Speaker 2: start out, great segue, motherfucked first segment.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, motherfucker. And just to again, what's a
- 10:48Speaker 1: little what's a little? The catching thing at the bottom,
- 10:51Speaker 1: the warning sign at the bottom. It's like, this is
- 10:53Speaker 1: in no way shape or form a podcast for expert
- 10:57Speaker 1: advice on parenting. There's your You're expecting father, You're about
- 11:01Speaker 1: to be in it? Is the camera good?
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 11:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I was in a banner, You're about to be
- 11:05Speaker 1: in it. But at the end of the day, it's
- 11:07Speaker 1: like I have a three year old and a six
- 11:08Speaker 1: month old, Like, I don't know what it's like to
- 11:09Speaker 1: have a four year old. I don't know what it's
- 11:10Speaker 1: like to have a teenager. I don't know what it's
- 11:12Speaker 1: like to have an adult child. There's a lot that
- 11:15Speaker 1: we still have to learn and figure out. But that's
- 11:17Speaker 1: that's what this that's what this show is. Here is
- 11:19Speaker 1: for us to kind of deliver our own experiences in
- 11:22Speaker 1: a very unpolished way and also give a voice for
- 11:26Speaker 1: the dads who carry their own mental load. We need
- 11:29Speaker 1: it and we need it.
- 11:30Speaker 2: In the comments, that was some of my favorite comments
- 11:32Speaker 2: with the launch trailer was like.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Boys, we need this.
- 11:36Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, the third party boys, we've needed this to
- 11:39Speaker 4: need it.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, bro, hell yeah, dad lives matter too. Dad
- 11:43Speaker 1: lives matter too. Come on, but yeah, we're gonna share stories,
- 11:47Speaker 1: maybe build around a topic or the week, build a
- 11:49Speaker 1: community around call ins, stories via email, engaging on social media.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Is talk about our dad wins and losses, balancing life, vulnerable, shit.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Will be laughing a lot, things that we can crack
- 12:00Speaker 1: a cold bud light two and just having a good time.
- 12:03Speaker 1: And at the end of every episode we will close
- 12:05Speaker 1: out with a quote, a mantra, or a lesson that
- 12:08Speaker 1: we feel like we've enjoyed recently and every now and then.
- 12:11Speaker 1: This isn't gonna be a show to where it's interview
- 12:13Speaker 1: based and we're gonna bring on dads every week similar
- 12:16Speaker 1: to what you guys recognize with busting with the boys,
- 12:18Speaker 1: that'll happen at times when the time is right. Maybe
- 12:21Speaker 1: it's bonus content, but we really want this to kind
- 12:24Speaker 1: of build community with the dads out there, share our
- 12:27Speaker 1: stories and engage with with with everybody online.
- 12:31Speaker 2: And you're gonna kick off. Motherfucked dude.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Motherfucked So Motherfucked is a segment where it's essentially your
- 12:37Speaker 1: dad losses. Whether it's your wife giving you a stern
- 12:40Speaker 1: talking to about something you might have done wrong or
- 12:43Speaker 1: something you fell short for, or whether it's those moments
- 12:46Speaker 1: to where the words that come out of her mouth
- 12:48Speaker 1: is you always do X, And I just think in
- 12:52Speaker 1: my mind, I don't always do that. I just fell
- 12:56Speaker 1: short this one time. But look at the growth I've had.
- 12:59Speaker 1: You know, I'll pull back years, I'll pull by you.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Remember you remember when we had the townhouse. I was terrible. Yeah. Yeah.
- 13:05Speaker 1: You get the report card out, you get the scoreboard,
- 13:07Speaker 1: and when you get in the scoreboard, that's when it
- 13:08Speaker 1: more so goes downhill. You realize, like marriage and parenthood's
- 13:12Speaker 1: all about communication, yes, uh, but getting in our motherfuck segment,
- 13:16Speaker 1: if I if I explain my first real dad loss,
- 13:23Speaker 1: I'm sure there were others, but one that stands out
- 13:26Speaker 1: is Rue was around i'd say eight to ten months old.
- 13:30Speaker 1: She was crawling and we were upstairs for our little
- 13:33Speaker 1: morning routine. We got the little birds playing on the
- 13:36Speaker 1: sound machine. We're getting it ready for the day, and
- 13:40Speaker 1: she's crawling around and it's one of those things where
- 13:42Speaker 1: I'm like giving her the faces and I'm crawling after her,
- 13:44Speaker 1: like I'm chasing her, and she's starting to get it
- 13:46Speaker 1: a little bit. But she starts crawling for the door,
- 13:50Speaker 1: and I'm thinking she's gonna go to the door, turn
- 13:52Speaker 1: around and come back like she always does. And so
- 13:55Speaker 1: I'm kind of waiting on the Carpetcause it's hardwood floor,
- 13:57Speaker 1: Like I'm on my hands and knees. You know, the
- 13:58Speaker 1: knees got a little bit of damage from the old
- 14:00Speaker 1: playing days, remaining on the carpet ten years. She starts
- 14:03Speaker 1: to leave the doorway crawling, and so I'm like, oh,
- 14:07Speaker 1: you know, you think they're a lot smarter than they
- 14:09Speaker 1: are at that DA's. But I'm like, oh, she's hiding
- 14:11Speaker 1: from dead da And so I start crawling like I'm
- 14:13Speaker 1: gonna get you, and I go outside of her door
- 14:16Speaker 1: and her her room is on the second floor right
- 14:20Speaker 1: outside sits right at the top of a flight of stairs.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Big flight of stairs.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Is it the house that you're currently in, Yes, big
- 14:28Speaker 2: flight of stair.
- 14:29Speaker 1: You guys are there shooting that trailer. Big flight of stairs.
- 14:31Speaker 1: So she goes around this doorway and I'm like, oh,
- 14:34Speaker 1: Dad is gonna get you. And I go around like, okay,
- 14:35Speaker 1: I need to pick it up because I need to
- 14:36Speaker 1: get my eyes on her. And I get around and
- 14:38Speaker 1: I'm still on my hands and knees and she's about
- 14:41Speaker 1: to step off. She's about to crawl off the top
- 14:44Speaker 1: flight of stairs. And in my head, I'm like, surely
- 14:47Speaker 1: she sees that this is not good. And so I say,
- 14:51Speaker 1: she was like eight to ten months old. Bro, No,
- 14:53Speaker 1: she wasn't walking yet, she was crawling, so probably around
- 14:55Speaker 1: that ten month part. And I see you start to go,
- 14:58Speaker 1: and so I stand up and bro she it starts
- 15:01Speaker 1: down the stairs. I'm like chasing her down the stairs,
- 15:03Speaker 1: like looking down like I'm in a war movie, running
- 15:05Speaker 1: side next to her, trying to get to where I
- 15:07Speaker 1: feel comfortable enough reaching down to get her up. By
- 15:09Speaker 1: the time I grab her, she's three fourths of the
- 15:11Speaker 1: way down that flight of stairs to where you were.
- 15:14Speaker 1: You know, she had some thoughts like, oh, red Mark,
- 15:16Speaker 1: she's crying. My wife was in the room with us,
- 15:20Speaker 1: and we're standing down there and I'm just rocking on
- 15:22Speaker 1: my Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I thought I
- 15:24Speaker 1: killed her. And I'm just thinking in my head, like
- 15:26Speaker 1: surely millions of babies fall all the time, Like we
- 15:28Speaker 1: always talk about, joke with your boys, you must have
- 15:30Speaker 1: got dropped on your head when you were younger. This
- 15:32Speaker 1: is just one of those moments. This is just one
- 15:33Speaker 1: of those moments.
- 15:34Speaker 2: What was the initial like as soon as you pick
- 15:36Speaker 2: her up, Like, what was the very first thing you
- 15:38Speaker 2: checked her? Very first thing?
- 15:39Speaker 1: You said? Nothing, I'm a hugging her, sweetheart. I'm so sorry.
- 15:42Speaker 1: I'm so sorry. Dead is so sorry. I'm right here,
- 15:43Speaker 1: I'm right here. She's crying like it's not a tantrum,
- 15:47Speaker 1: but she's like screaming crying because she's clearly hurt. But yeah,
- 15:49Speaker 1: like lumps that was like raising from her head in
- 15:52Speaker 1: like three different spots on her head. But that was
- 15:54Speaker 1: probably my first big dad loss. And you know I
- 15:58Speaker 1: didn't get cursed out, but it's one of those as
- 16:00Speaker 1: we were standing around mom like this was on your watch. Yeah,
- 16:03Speaker 1: you know what I mean. That's when I felt really low,
- 16:06Speaker 1: as like, damn, this was all my fault.
- 16:09Speaker 2: Is Charia the kind of energy where when she's quiet,
- 16:12Speaker 2: it's even worse, like if you don't get that tongue lashing.
- 16:16Speaker 2: It's almost like the feeling of remorse, of like or
- 16:20Speaker 2: of no.
- 16:21Speaker 1: Because she'll let me know with Charro what we'll talk
- 16:24Speaker 1: about in our in our couple's therapy is more of
- 16:28Speaker 1: I can't take it when it gets to the moment
- 16:30Speaker 1: that she is overwhelmed and annoyed by something that either
- 16:33Speaker 1: I had done or something that's going on, to where
- 16:34Speaker 1: she just starts like picking up the house. Hey, what
- 16:36Speaker 1: do you want to do with this? And it's Sunday night.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I'm just thinking, do we gotta do this shit right now?
- 16:40Speaker 1: We just got the kids down, Like, can't we just
- 16:41Speaker 1: sit down and relax? That's me, Well you haven't, you haven't.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I've told you about these boxes for for months. I'm
- 16:47Speaker 1: just thinking about don't mention the doing boxes right now.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I just want to watch a TV show because where
- 16:53Speaker 1: you're like taking a load off, But it's more of
- 16:54Speaker 1: like those moments is where she's kind of like letting
- 16:57Speaker 1: me know. But in that moment, it's like we both
- 17:00Speaker 1: know what happened. Yes, I obviously feel terrible, So I
- 17:03Speaker 1: wasn't like cursed, It wasn't anything like that. You just
- 17:06Speaker 1: feel like that was my first big dad loss of fatherhood.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Well, and she probably didn't want to like put all
- 17:12Speaker 2: the blame on you in the moment, because then that's
- 17:14Speaker 2: something that's like gonna live with you for you.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Know, however long.
- 17:19Speaker 2: Yeah, she handled it. Sounded like she handled it really nice.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like, if you know, I can't think of
- 17:25Speaker 1: an example where she's like messed up, or if I
- 17:30Speaker 1: hear her yell, like when it gets to a point
- 17:32Speaker 1: to where you're trying to commune, I mean, these are
- 17:33Speaker 1: little terrorists you're trying to communate with, very irrational, they're
- 17:37Speaker 1: trying to handle their big emotions. Ru is very determined
- 17:39Speaker 1: and independent, so she has like that she knows what
- 17:42Speaker 1: she wants, and if she can't do it on her own,
- 17:44Speaker 1: she gets extremely upset with herself, which is extremely upset
- 17:47Speaker 1: about it can't get figured out, and you know, you
- 17:50Speaker 1: get those moments where you kind of you lose yourself
- 17:54Speaker 1: and you just yell back because you're you're just on
- 17:58Speaker 1: a breaking point. You're trying to be as patient as possible,
- 18:00Speaker 1: and you're just on a breaking point. It's where you're
- 18:02Speaker 1: just like, I don't know what you want, and when
- 18:04Speaker 1: I hear her yell, I'm all right, Dad, I need
- 18:06Speaker 1: to go upstairs. I need to try to get the
- 18:08Speaker 1: situation calm down. And you're not trying to loan on
- 18:11Speaker 1: the fact. Hey, you know you shouldn't be yelling at
- 18:12Speaker 1: her because it's like we already know what's happening. Yeah,
- 18:15Speaker 1: you're not trying to cause more pain and blame somebody.
- 18:18Speaker 1: But it's more like that's that's kind of how our
- 18:21Speaker 1: conversations will go. Like if we have a low moment
- 18:23Speaker 1: and it's like, hey, you forgot this. I literally told
- 18:26Speaker 1: you so many times, like you forgot this and here's why,
- 18:30Speaker 1: And it's probably because you were on your phone.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Quick quick thing that you just remind me of during
- 18:35Speaker 2: that story, of like the patience that you've built up.
- 18:38Speaker 2: One thing I've noticed about myself of like assumed to
- 18:40Speaker 2: be dad, is whenever I'm around Dad's and their kids
- 18:44Speaker 2: are there too, I just kind of pick up on
- 18:48Speaker 2: things like I'm looking for things like little learns and
- 18:50Speaker 2: tidbits whatever. Jeremy that's here in our office has two
- 18:54Speaker 2: boys here and an older daughter. But his two boys
- 18:58Speaker 2: are in the office all the time, and whenever he's
- 19:01Speaker 2: talking to me, JJ will be in the distance. It
- 19:03Speaker 2: Dad Dad Sherman, Dad Dad Sherman, and Jeremy's just locked
- 19:08Speaker 2: in talking like this, nothing's going on. If I then
- 19:13Speaker 2: like answer back to him and JJ's Sherman Sherman, I
- 19:16Speaker 2: have to go, yeah, what's up, buddy. When we were
- 19:19Speaker 2: at breakfast the other morning and Rue was doing the
- 19:22Speaker 2: same thing to you, and we're like having a serious
- 19:25Speaker 2: conversation about this podcast, you're just locked in and you're
- 19:28Speaker 2: looking at me and you're talking to me, and Ru's like,
- 19:31Speaker 2: I don't want sir up on my French shows, and
- 19:33Speaker 2: You're like okay, honey, and you're still like eye contact. Yeah, dude,
- 19:37Speaker 2: I looked away a million times. I could tell that
- 19:39Speaker 2: even you were like, Man, Sherman kind of folds the
- 19:42Speaker 2: root pretty quick, like.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Dude, Which is so funny that you bring that up,
- 19:45Speaker 1: because I'm sitting there in my mind like Sherman stopped
- 19:48Speaker 1: talking to her, like stop engaging. I could tell that
- 19:51Speaker 1: because whenever we get to a break. Whenever we get
- 19:53Speaker 1: to a moment of a break, it's gonna be like, hey, sweetheart,
- 19:55Speaker 1: you know dad has talking like, let's have you, let's
- 19:57Speaker 1: exercise a little bit of patience. But I'm thinking, surem
- 19:59Speaker 1: stopp looking over and engaging with her and putting her
- 20:03Speaker 1: stickers on the little sticker.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Book sherman, where's elefant go? And I'm like, all right,
- 20:08Speaker 2: here would be great, and you're you wouldn't move, you
- 20:11Speaker 2: would just stay locked in, like, once you're do with
- 20:12Speaker 2: that sticker, come back, let's talk.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Do you Obviously you don't have one yet. But with Jill,
- 20:18Speaker 1: what what are you guys expecting?
- 20:22Speaker 2: Okay, well, can we dive in? We can dive in.
- 20:26Speaker 2: But I was gonna save it for the what are
- 20:27Speaker 2: the odds?
- 20:28Speaker 1: Okay, all right, we can save it. Okay, But I
- 20:30Speaker 1: was gonna say, I do have a question? Was gonna
- 20:32Speaker 1: be Yeah, like you and your journey of pregnancy right now,
- 20:37Speaker 1: obviously hormones are flowing. Your wife works, she works a lot,
- 20:40Speaker 1: she's in the what does your wife do?
- 20:42Speaker 4: Uh?
- 20:42Speaker 2: She's an r N so she's a registered nurse. Yes,
- 20:45Speaker 2: works here in Nashville. She's a grinder pediatric.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah. So she's a grinder, deals with a lot
- 20:50Speaker 1: of her own stuff at work. She does having to
- 20:52Speaker 1: juggle those hormones. You're you know, you're a spark plug,
- 20:55Speaker 1: You're a ball life, You're a great energy. Yeah. How's
- 20:59Speaker 1: it been for you in the in the in the
- 21:00Speaker 1: pregnancy journey?
- 21:02Speaker 2: I okay, So I hear it all the time from
- 21:04Speaker 2: Jill that I get it really easy.
- 21:06Speaker 1: She's like, I.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Give you so much slack. I'm a pretty easy wife.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Like I'm a pretty easy pregnant wife, I promise you. Uh,
- 21:16Speaker 2: Like when I'm talking to my girls and I'm hearing
- 21:18Speaker 2: stories like sureman, you could have it way worse. And
- 21:21Speaker 2: it's not like I'm running around the house going like
- 21:24Speaker 2: why are you fucking blowing up on me all the time?
- 21:26Speaker 2: Because she isn't but a really good It just happened
- 21:29Speaker 2: to be the weekend before we record this.
- 21:32Speaker 1: You hit her with I think you got it pretty
- 21:34Speaker 1: easy too, Like I'm pretty easy going.
- 21:35Speaker 2: I am pretty Like I am pretty easy. I'm messy
- 21:38Speaker 2: as fuck, but like as far as like a sunshiny
- 21:42Speaker 2: disposition of life, Like I feel like she's got pretty
- 21:46Speaker 2: good too. But I'm definitely the lucky one in the relationship.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Don't get that right.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Hey, no matter what this podcast, we're gonna vent, We're
- 21:54Speaker 1: gonna bitchy, but no matter what, we have to, we
- 21:56Speaker 1: have to got to get that first episode, first episode,
- 21:59Speaker 1: first episod. But we're always gonna follow it up with hey, sweete.
- 22:04Speaker 1: You know, baby, baby, if you're listening right now, you
- 22:05Speaker 1: know I love you. You know I'm the lucky one, you know.
- 22:08Speaker 1: But this is also I want you to know. This
- 22:09Speaker 1: is a safe space for dats. This is a safe space.
- 22:11Speaker 1: We're gonna pretend that our wives aren't watching this. Oh,
- 22:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna do our best, okay, because it is scary
- 22:16Speaker 1: to think we could be in hot water every week.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, And I had to have a talk with
- 22:21Speaker 1: her the other night, like before we're recording this. I
- 22:23Speaker 1: was like, I have a really good motherfucked story. She's like,
- 22:27Speaker 1: I don't, are you gonna talk? Yeah, You're like, do
- 22:29Speaker 1: you care if I share it? How sweet? I'm gonna
- 22:31Speaker 1: let you know because you're always kind of haveing the
- 22:32Speaker 1: same talk. I'm like, I'm gonna exaggerate some stories a
- 22:35Speaker 1: little bit. Yeah, just no, I'm always gonna find my
- 22:37Speaker 1: way back to your sweetheart.
- 22:38Speaker 2: We're gonna find our way back. And she knew exactly
- 22:40Speaker 2: what I was talking about too. She was like, you're
- 22:42Speaker 2: gonna talk about daycare shopping.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I was like yeah.
- 22:45Speaker 2: She was like, yeah, you can tell that story.
- 22:47Speaker 1: That's okay, let's hear it. Okay.
- 22:50Speaker 2: So, uh, we're shopping for daycares. Jill's thirty two weeks
- 22:54Speaker 2: I believe, or like thirty one going into thirty two
- 22:57Speaker 2: weeks pregnant, and we're looking at daycares. We're kind of
- 23:03Speaker 2: new to the scene. I've been texting you a little
- 23:04Speaker 2: bit about it.
- 23:06Speaker 1: But world tough, world, dude, ahead of time.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Expensive is fuck, dude. Yes, the best deal that we
- 23:14Speaker 2: have now, like the one that we decided on. It's
- 23:16Speaker 2: twice a week and it's eight hundred dollars a month.
- 23:20Speaker 1: It's crazy.
- 23:21Speaker 2: But you go in, dude, these daycares. When you walk
- 23:24Speaker 2: into them, it's like a cute zoo. It's like a
- 23:28Speaker 2: zoo but of just cuteness, dude. And they have them
- 23:31Speaker 2: like it's almost like they have them fully trained when
- 23:34Speaker 2: you walk in to like look out the classroom window
- 23:36Speaker 2: and be like and way, so you're waving out all
- 23:39Speaker 2: these like little two something three something year olds and
- 23:41Speaker 2: you're like, oh my god, they're so cute, Like that's
- 23:44Speaker 2: what mine's going to be, Like it's gonna have good
- 23:45Speaker 2: table manners and YadA YadA. That whole experience was phenomenal.
- 23:50Speaker 2: I love daycare shopping, and I selfishly am not going
- 23:54Speaker 2: to shout out the daycare that we chose because I'm
- 23:56Speaker 2: on a wait list and I'm trying to get in
- 23:58Speaker 2: that mug. Yeah yeah, yeah, I'm not gonna yes, yeah, yeah,
- 24:02Speaker 2: So I'm not gonna name it specifically, but once we're
- 24:04Speaker 2: in there, I will gladly shout them out. But yeah,
- 24:08Speaker 2: the motherfuck situation was essentially I should have woken up
- 24:12Speaker 2: at six thirty and started getting breakfast going because my
- 24:15Speaker 2: girl just wanted to look pretty. She's wanted to take
- 24:18Speaker 2: her time in the shower, she wants to pick out
- 24:20Speaker 2: her outfit, she wants to have her makeup all done
- 24:22Speaker 2: so she looks like a really good future mommy, and
- 24:25Speaker 2: she wants her husband to do the same. So it's like,
- 24:28Speaker 2: we are normal humans. You should totally let us have
- 24:30Speaker 2: our kid be in your daycare because we're going to
- 24:33Speaker 2: multiple daycares that day. Slept in like till the last second.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Day that's terms Achilles. Heel right there, that'll he This
- 24:41Speaker 1: dude could have a tornado siren going off in his
- 24:45Speaker 1: room and he won't wake up.
- 24:46Speaker 2: Jill is literally going like this right now, She's She's like,
- 24:50Speaker 2: thank you will She allegedly allegedly shook me like she's
- 24:54Speaker 2: trying to get me up. But I gave her the
- 24:56Speaker 2: once I was awake, I was looking at my phone
- 24:59Speaker 2: and I gave her the honey, hey, just one second,
- 25:02Speaker 2: I'm watching this last thing, and I promise you I
- 25:04Speaker 2: have my outfit picked out.
- 25:05Speaker 1: We're all good.
- 25:07Speaker 2: We weren't all good. We were late headed out of
- 25:09Speaker 2: the house. And for any guy out there that has kids,
- 25:13Speaker 2: any dads right now or future dads with a pregnant wife,
- 25:16Speaker 2: you cannot miss breakfast because that stomach starts hurtin And
- 25:19Speaker 2: she just turned into the angriest mama bear she has
- 25:22Speaker 2: ever been. And I got a tongue lashing on the
- 25:26Speaker 2: way to the daycares about I'm not responsible and just
- 25:32Speaker 2: like the you always do this, hers is you never
- 25:36Speaker 2: do that.
- 25:37Speaker 1: So she was saying, it's always the permanent words always, never, never.
- 25:42Speaker 1: She said, you have done nothing in the preparation of
- 25:45Speaker 1: our daughter. On the way too, on the way to
- 25:49Speaker 1: the daycare, which in my head, that is not true.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Did it sting?
- 25:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's stung, But I swallowed it because I've learned, like, you.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Gotta take listen, this is your mental load. It's starting
- 26:02Speaker 1: to stack up. You gotta take this. You gotta take
- 26:05Speaker 1: the hits, and I'm taking the You're in the A
- 26:07Speaker 1: gap right now.
- 26:08Speaker 2: Oh yeah, dude, I'm like death gripping the wheel and
- 26:11Speaker 2: I'm driving down was it for forty? G The head's west,
- 26:16Speaker 2: I'm heading down four forty west and I'm just locked
- 26:19Speaker 2: in here and she's I'm getting it so bad, and
- 26:23Speaker 2: I'm like, I just I gotta let her have her
- 26:24Speaker 2: moment and get this out. But I did make the
- 26:27Speaker 2: mistake of I said hey, honey, and she sobbed, and
- 26:30Speaker 2: I go, I want you to know I'm listening to
- 26:33Speaker 2: you right now, and I think about eighty five percent
- 26:36Speaker 2: of what you're saying are really good points. But you
- 26:39Speaker 2: don't have to yell at me right now. We can
- 26:42Speaker 2: just talk. And she that sparked it a bit more,
- 26:46Speaker 2: which I you know, it's just hilarious.
- 26:48Speaker 1: IM thinking, Hey, it's a nice little yes, it's a
- 26:51Speaker 1: nice little point of trying to defuse it.
- 26:55Speaker 2: But we we get to the we get to the
- 26:57Speaker 2: parking lot.
- 26:58Speaker 1: And trying to figure out, oh, I thought that was
- 27:01Speaker 1: pretty good for you on game. I thought yeah. I
- 27:04Speaker 1: was like, oh shit, he gotta put me on some games.
- 27:06Speaker 2: You put me on game, so I'll take that's a compliment.
- 27:08Speaker 2: But we get to the parking lot and long story short,
- 27:12Speaker 2: she's wiping her makeup plans, her makeup off, and we
- 27:14Speaker 2: did a really good job of acting like we have
- 27:17Speaker 2: We have never fought a day in our lives, and
- 27:20Speaker 2: we're the happiest couple ever, and look at our little
- 27:22Speaker 2: bundle of joy that's coming. And I had a great line.
- 27:25Speaker 2: She loves scary movies. She loves some movie theaters. So
- 27:29Speaker 2: we had talked obviously. After the daycare, we worked things
- 27:32Speaker 2: out and she apologized. But at the movies, when she
- 27:36Speaker 2: was all happy with their popcorn, I said, hey, I
- 27:39Speaker 2: do just want to apologize. I am a really bad husband.
- 27:43Speaker 2: I don't think I've done anything to prepare for Scarlet.
- 27:46Speaker 2: And she picked up some popcorn and tossed it at me,
- 27:49Speaker 2: and she was like, if that's my only blow up
- 27:51Speaker 2: on you as a pregnant woman, like, consider yourself lucky.
- 27:54Speaker 2: I was like, all right, I'll take it.
- 27:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so we're all good. Out of the fire.
- 27:57Speaker 2: We're out of the fire.
- 27:58Speaker 1: You got out of the fire.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Yeah, we can segue to crack a cold one.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Yeah, let's talk about it. Let's talk about a positive
- 28:06Speaker 1: Let's talk talk about something that we would crack a
- 28:08Speaker 1: cold one too. Mine is going to be pizza Friday.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I think having a weekly ritual with the fam is
- 28:17Speaker 1: uh is important. It's something that we started early because
- 28:21Speaker 1: in in the world the world moves fast. Man. You
- 28:24Speaker 1: talk to any dad, you talk to anybody the generation
- 28:27Speaker 1: before you, the consensus is always the phrase. It goes
- 28:31Speaker 1: by fast. Enjoy it. Yeah, And I think for me,
- 28:34Speaker 1: in a world where everything moves fast, with appointments, work meetings,
- 28:38Speaker 1: phone calls, again, marriage, you're trying to juggle a lot
- 28:42Speaker 1: of the chaos going on, Pizza Friday is something that
- 28:47Speaker 1: that we've leaned on to where hey, this is where
- 28:49Speaker 1: we kind of show up as a family, you know,
- 28:52Speaker 1: I know it Like dads in our minds at times,
- 28:55Speaker 1: we think we have to show up for something big
- 28:58Speaker 1: to matter, whether we're fixed something, whether we're providing, whether
- 29:02Speaker 1: we're saving the day, and you begin to realize that
- 29:06Speaker 1: parenthood and being intentional is about like showing up in
- 29:09Speaker 1: those small consistencies. Yeah, and pizza Friday is one of
- 29:12Speaker 1: those for us because I know, growing up, for me,
- 29:14Speaker 1: a lot of my fondest memories are being in the
- 29:17Speaker 1: backyard for barbecues. My dad loved throwing throwing meat on
- 29:21Speaker 1: the grill, my mom loved making sides, we loved having
- 29:23Speaker 1: friends over, and I just vividly have those are some
- 29:28Speaker 1: of my best memories. And it's something that I remember
- 29:30Speaker 1: anytime that I'm grilling or at a grill out or
- 29:32Speaker 1: a cookout, whatever the case is. It's like, subconsciously in
- 29:35Speaker 1: my mind, I'm always I'm always thinking back to when
- 29:40Speaker 1: we had these family barbecues because we would have them
- 29:42Speaker 1: often at least, like you know, when it's summertime, you're
- 29:44Speaker 1: having them a couple times a month, and Alder brothers
- 29:48Speaker 1: are out there, right yeah yeah yeah yeah. And so
- 29:50Speaker 1: for us, like for Pizza Fridays, I always take Roue.
- 29:54Speaker 1: She gets in the car with Dad. We order from
- 29:57Speaker 1: our favorite spot, and I will shout out the local
- 29:59Speaker 1: the local spot, Home Team Pizza. We put it in
- 30:02Speaker 1: an order for Home Team pizza. I take rue. It's
- 30:04Speaker 1: kind of our time to spend together to where we go.
- 30:06Speaker 1: We go inside, she talks to everybody. We get the pizza,
- 30:11Speaker 1: we bring it home. I live rou carry the little
- 30:14Speaker 1: whether it's a little bag of buckeyes, shout out hate
- 30:17Speaker 1: you guys got shot out the buckeye, whether it's the
- 30:20Speaker 1: little bag of buckeyes or the small box of like
- 30:24Speaker 1: their little breadstick bites, O real, carry the small one
- 30:27Speaker 1: in and every time she walks in the door, Mama,
- 30:30Speaker 1: we're home. It's pizza Friday, and we enjoy whatever the
- 30:34Speaker 1: movie it is. So it's like, what when my kids
- 30:37Speaker 1: get older, you know, they won't always remember the toys
- 30:41Speaker 1: or the lectures that their old man gave them, because
- 30:43Speaker 1: I'll probably be giving probably be giving a lot of lectures.
- 30:48Speaker 1: But I want them to remember the times that they
- 30:51Speaker 1: spent together as a family to where my daughter's got
- 30:54Speaker 1: it in the car with dad. They drove to go
- 30:56Speaker 1: pick up pizza, and we brought home the smell of
- 30:58Speaker 1: pizza and we shared laugh, whether it's tears, whatever it was,
- 31:02Speaker 1: we enjoyed a movie together as a family. And that's
- 31:04Speaker 1: how we show up each week as a family. We're
- 31:07Speaker 1: not always consistent where we hit it every Friday, but
- 31:09Speaker 1: every Friday that we're home, any Friday that we might
- 31:13Speaker 1: be on the road together at a vacation together, pizza
- 31:15Speaker 1: Fridays is a staple for like a weekly ritual for
- 31:19Speaker 1: the family. So that's kind of my crack of cold
- 31:21Speaker 1: one too. That's kind of like my one of the
- 31:23Speaker 1: staples in our family.
- 31:25Speaker 2: It feels consistent as hell, like seeing it on social
- 31:28Speaker 2: media just as a like third party outside of it,
- 31:32Speaker 2: it seems like y'all are doing that every Friday. And
- 31:35Speaker 2: I love the idea of like traditions to you if
- 31:38Speaker 2: y'all kind of creating traditions and you'll know too.
- 31:42Speaker 1: It's like consistency and routine is big for kids knowing
- 31:46Speaker 1: like hey, guess what today is? And you know, it
- 31:49Speaker 1: might be Monday and it's gymnastics day or Wednesday and
- 31:51Speaker 1: it's swim day for Rue, But anytime you're just like, hey,
- 31:54Speaker 1: guess what day it is, she's just always like pizza Friday.
- 31:56Speaker 1: It's like, okay, no, that's after two more sleeps, but
- 31:59Speaker 1: they know when it's Friday, it is pizza Friday. Yeah,
- 32:03Speaker 1: So that's my uh crack cole one that's my crack
- 32:06Speaker 1: of cold one.
- 32:06Speaker 2: I actually I wasn't going to do a crack a
- 32:09Speaker 2: cold one, but I do have a crack a cold
- 32:11Speaker 2: one for you.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Oh yeah, so you don't have one. You don't have
- 32:22Speaker 1: one the first episode, you don't have one this week
- 32:23Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Well, I like had one that I was kind of finagle,
- 32:27Speaker 2: but to go off of, I'll crack a cold one
- 32:29Speaker 2: to you because you did an incredible job. You were
- 32:33Speaker 2: charo uh with Rue when we were over to film
- 32:35Speaker 2: that trailer of when Ree wanted to teach me and
- 32:39Speaker 2: how she tells the world good morning, and that might
- 32:44Speaker 2: have been a top five cutest thing I've ever seen
- 32:47Speaker 2: in my life of her picking up a footstool, moving
- 32:50Speaker 2: it to the window, throwing open the curtains like a
- 32:53Speaker 2: Disney character, and she's just a good morning world, so
- 32:58Speaker 2: loud and so confident, and I love that. Charlie was like,
- 33:02Speaker 2: we haven't done that in a minute, yeah with real
- 33:05Speaker 2: or maybe you said that, I can't remember, but yeah,
- 33:08Speaker 2: you did it enough to where it's.
- 33:09Speaker 1: In there, like Yeah, it's like when they're little and
- 33:11Speaker 1: they're starting to figure things out and you're trying to
- 33:13Speaker 1: like keep them in a routine of how mourning works.
- 33:16Speaker 1: Like we'll have the sound machine and when she wakes up,
- 33:18Speaker 1: we'll turn it to the birds chirping, just to like
- 33:20Speaker 1: get her psyche in the mindset of like, hey, we're
- 33:23Speaker 1: we're doing the morning routine. So you pick her up
- 33:25Speaker 1: out of the crib when she couldn't walk, and you'd
- 33:26Speaker 1: just be like high world and do all these things.
- 33:28Speaker 1: So that way they know that you're starting to like
- 33:31Speaker 1: you're starting to like manufacture this hard wiring of how
- 33:33Speaker 1: each day works. But yeah, it had been a minute
- 33:36Speaker 1: since i'd seen her do the whole good Morning world,
- 33:39Speaker 1: but I knew she wanted to show you her room. Dude,
- 33:41Speaker 1: that was unreal. She's wanting to give you an entire
- 33:44Speaker 1: tour of the house. It is. Hey, sweet, we got
- 33:45Speaker 1: a film, we got a film trail. If you're gonna
- 33:48Speaker 1: be a part of this, we'll give you a role. Yeah,
- 33:49Speaker 1: we gave her the director role. Yeah yeah, yeah, oh
- 33:52Speaker 1: say action. Then you gotta stay quiet because she's wanting
- 33:55Speaker 1: to play the whole time. She wants to playhide and seek.
- 33:56Speaker 1: You guys are there. She thinks everybody's there for her.
- 33:58Speaker 2: She loved heyt out Uncle Brad by the way Upogs,
- 34:02Speaker 2: we didn't shot you out before? That was the Dad
- 34:04Speaker 2: and the launch trailer. One of Will's good friends but
- 34:07Speaker 2: shot out Uncle Brad. Do you want to let him
- 34:10Speaker 2: know what crack? A cold one is brought to us.
- 34:12Speaker 1: By Yes, Oh, I would love to great segue. We
- 34:15Speaker 1: do have some We do have some sponsors on the

- 35:03Speaker 2: You know, I like that idea, especially if our sponsors
- 35:06Speaker 2: aren't attached to the segments just yet, that we go
- 35:09Speaker 2: ahead and knock out the next sponsor. But you had
- 35:12Speaker 2: a good idea of kicking it to the audience in
- 35:15Speaker 2: the comments for them to let us know.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Yeah, whether you'd like it earlier in the show. Middle
- 35:19Speaker 1: of the show kind of broken up the way we

- 36:36Speaker 1: a little brew hal ad read, a little lovey dovey adred.
- 36:40Speaker 1: I don't think there's anything more for the dads. Yeah, truly,
- 36:44Speaker 1: I'm with you. I'm with you.
- 36:46Speaker 4: I know.
- 36:46Speaker 1: We got a little product recommendation, Yeah, little survival kit action.
- 36:51Speaker 1: What guy's in the survival kit?
- 36:53Speaker 2: We got dad hacks, We got dad hacks, we got
- 36:55Speaker 2: survival kit. We do just time wise. I don't know
- 36:59Speaker 2: if we want to skip over those and tell the
- 37:02Speaker 2: audience a little bit about the call in features, because
- 37:05Speaker 2: I feel like that's gonna maybe we they have to
- 37:08Speaker 2: come in next week to see how Survival Kit and
- 37:11Speaker 2: Dad Hacks works.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Yes, So for the dads out there listening right now,
- 37:14Speaker 1: for everybody watching the show, the way that we're gonna
- 37:16Speaker 1: involve you guys is we have a hotline number. It
- 37:19Speaker 1: is six oh one the Dads, six oh one the Dads.
- 37:24Speaker 1: You will call in. You will leave a voicemail, and
- 37:26Speaker 1: it can be about something you crack, a cold one too,
- 37:29Speaker 1: maybe a big dad loss, maybe a time you got
- 37:32Speaker 1: motherfucked by your daughter, by your son, by your wife,
- 37:35Speaker 1: or maybe you were motherfucking yourself and you're feeling in
- 37:38Speaker 1: the dumps and you need to get it something off
- 37:39Speaker 1: your chest. You can remain anonymous if view like, you
- 37:42Speaker 1: don't have to say your name. You can just call in.
- 37:45Speaker 1: We would love to play a voicemail each and every
- 37:47Speaker 1: week for the dads out there wanting to vent about something,
- 37:50Speaker 1: having a recommendation. Maybe you have a dad hack, Maybe
- 37:52Speaker 1: you have something that you can put in the Survival
- 37:54Speaker 1: Kit for dads that dads might need to know that
- 37:57Speaker 1: a lot out there might not know. And now you
- 37:59Speaker 1: have a platform, you have an audience to where you
- 38:01Speaker 1: can put dads on game, whatever it is. And again,
- 38:03Speaker 1: it could be a quote, a lesson you've learned. It
- 38:06Speaker 1: doesn't matter.
- 38:06Speaker 2: You can remain anonymous.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Yes, it doesn't matter. You are a dad. You're trying
- 38:11Speaker 1: to be here for the dads. You're trying to be
- 38:12Speaker 1: here for the community in whatever way you want it
- 38:14Speaker 1: to be positive negative, putting us on game whatever that is.
- 38:17Speaker 1: That is your voicemail, That is your phone call. I
- 38:20Speaker 1: do think it would be smart to do an email
- 38:23Speaker 1: one too, to where people can write it up. And
- 38:26Speaker 1: even with the call, it's not zoom, you're not you're
- 38:28Speaker 1: not showing your face, you're not doing any of that.
- 38:30Speaker 1: You're calling into the hotline six to oh one the
- 38:32Speaker 1: Dad's and you're leaving a voicemail.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Will what would you say if I told you even
- 38:38Speaker 2: though that number got connected three days ago, three days ago,
- 38:42Speaker 2: we have our first voicemail.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Oh, we have one. We have one.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Would you want to answer it?
- 38:49Speaker 1: Sure? Go ahead and play it all right, we'll play
- 38:51Speaker 1: it live.
- 38:51Speaker 2: I'll play it into the mic, and then we'll let
- 38:55Speaker 2: you take it from there.
- 38:56Speaker 3: Okay, all right, Compton, this is this is a Hunter,
- 39:02Speaker 3: big time fan of the show, so stoked to see
- 39:05Speaker 3: what you do it for the dads. Just a question,
- 39:07Speaker 3: just a question from me. If your best friend ever
- 39:11Speaker 3: called you and asked you to play Santa Claus so
- 39:15Speaker 3: his kid could keep the beauty and the magic of
- 39:18Speaker 3: Christmas in their heart and keep their little childhood dreams alive,
- 39:22Speaker 3: tell me how would you handle that conversation and what
- 39:26Speaker 3: would be your best stand of impression? Once again, big fan, huge,
- 39:29Speaker 3: massive fan, your ten Yeah.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Alr bye.
- 39:34Speaker 2: I don't know if you caught that at the beginning,
- 39:36Speaker 2: that was that was Hunter?
- 39:37Speaker 1: Oh Hunter, that was Hunter. That was all the time
- 39:39Speaker 1: fan of the show. Yeah, close, close and dear friend
- 39:42Speaker 1: of the show.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and what he knew about year ten. So I'm
- 39:45Speaker 2: guessing he's probably a to your wine.
- 39:46Speaker 1: It seems like he's very aware. So this man Hunter,
- 39:49Speaker 1: you know, what was this question? Again? How would I
- 39:52Speaker 1: handle being Santa Claus on the phone to his to
- 39:55Speaker 1: his kids.
- 39:56Speaker 2: If Hunter was to call you because his kids are
- 39:58Speaker 2: I don't know if I believe in Santae anymore. Well,
- 40:01Speaker 2: let me call up Sannah right now. And you're the
- 40:05Speaker 2: person that he called, how would you handle.
- 40:07Speaker 1: That, Sanna being real?
- 40:09Speaker 2: No?
- 40:09Speaker 1: No, how would how would you.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Handle role playing Sanna? If you need, I don't mind
- 40:14Speaker 2: being Hunter's kid and we can just we can run
- 40:16Speaker 2: through it right now.
- 40:17Speaker 1: What's your name, Billy? Billy?
- 40:20Speaker 2: Yeah, Sanna.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Hey, Billy, I'm hearing you're having some questions about myself
- 40:33Speaker 1: being real. Oh quiet down back there, Rudolph, I'm talking
- 40:38Speaker 1: to Billy. I'm talking to Billy right now. Hey, my
- 40:41Speaker 1: little elves, can you get Billy's gifts?
- 40:43Speaker 2: Ready?
- 40:43Speaker 1: I know Christmas is coming up. I just have a
- 40:45Speaker 1: couple of questions that I got to answer with them.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Daddy's talking to the elves.
- 40:49Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, Sanna, I was just wondering. Uh, my
- 40:53Speaker 5: friends at school in the lunch room, they're all picking
- 40:56Speaker 5: on me. They're all telling me that you're not real
- 40:58Speaker 5: and that I'm just a dumb kid for believing in you.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Why would they say such a thing, Billy, you're talking.
- 41:04Speaker 1: You're talking to old Santa Claus right now. I know
- 41:07Speaker 1: you're excited for Christmas. What would you like for Christmas? Billy?
- 41:10Speaker 2: I love an Xbox.
- 41:12Speaker 1: Here's what I would Billy. Listen to me closely. Here's
- 41:15Speaker 1: what I'll tell You're gonna go back to that cafeteria.
- 41:17Speaker 1: You're gonna go back to that lunch room on your
- 41:19Speaker 1: next day of school, and you're gonna tell your friends
- 41:21Speaker 1: you spoke to Santa Claus on the phone. Yeah, you
- 41:24Speaker 1: ask for an Xbox, and if you get an Xbox
- 41:26Speaker 1: on Christmas, you're gonna tell them that that's their belief
- 41:30Speaker 1: on what they're gonna get for their toy. You're gonna
- 41:31Speaker 1: show them. You're gonna prove to them that Santa is
- 41:33Speaker 1: reel because you are going to get what you want
- 41:35Speaker 1: and can you do another thing for me, Billy anything Santa.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Ask them what they would like for Christmas as well,
- 41:41Speaker 1: and also mark down their address marked mark down their
- 41:45Speaker 1: address and what their parents' name might be on where
- 41:47Speaker 1: they could possibly receive this secret gift. But don't tell them,
- 41:51Speaker 1: don't tell them that Santa Claus is telling you this,
- 41:53Speaker 1: and then we will prove to them together that Santa
- 41:55Speaker 1: Claus is real.
- 42:00Speaker 2: That's well done. That's well done. That was a great dude,
- 42:05Speaker 2: proving it by also getting their parents involved, because their
- 42:08Speaker 2: parents are gonna be like, who the hell is this from?
- 42:10Speaker 2: And it's gonna come and you were gonna see yeah,
- 42:12Speaker 2: say it is from Santa.
- 42:14Speaker 1: So spoiler alert, Hunter is Taylor and Taylor. A few
- 42:21Speaker 1: years back when I did not have kids, he needed
- 42:23Speaker 1: me to talk to Win because Winn was having a
- 42:29Speaker 1: bed issue and they were trying to solve it by
- 42:33Speaker 1: her talking to Santa and then keeping the keeping the
- 42:36Speaker 1: life of Christmas alive and maybe helping her work on
- 42:39Speaker 1: wetting the bed. And I wet the bed on the phone.
- 42:42Speaker 1: I was in the middle of a whole Foods and
- 42:44Speaker 1: I was show, you know, you're doing all these different
- 42:46Speaker 1: things at once, so you can't like be intentional and
- 42:48Speaker 1: focus on what he actually needed from me. Yeah, And
- 42:51Speaker 1: so I handled it all wrong. I told her that
- 42:53Speaker 1: if she she didn't stop, if she didn't stop winning
- 42:59Speaker 1: the bed, she might I get any presents. You had
- 43:06Speaker 1: to kind of rush her out there. And then he
- 43:07Speaker 1: called me. He said, what was that, dude, I don't know.
- 43:11Speaker 1: I don't know. I panicked. I thought, you want to
- 43:12Speaker 1: understop wining the bed. I'm trying to motivate her by hey,
- 43:14Speaker 1: you're gonna get Christmas president you don't start went to bed.
- 43:17Speaker 4: Tell me about the wedding the bed part. He just said,
- 43:20Speaker 4: you didn't you didn't do a Santa voice at all.
- 43:23Speaker 4: You answered it as well and just went yeah, hey.
- 43:31Speaker 1: Oh, I went yeah, this is Santa Claus b. Thank
- 43:37Speaker 1: you Hunter for calling in. Thank you Hunter for calling in.
- 43:39Speaker 1: But that is kind of the idea of what we
- 43:41Speaker 1: want to do with the voicemails every week. So again,
- 43:43Speaker 1: call into the hotline six oh one. The Dad's We're
- 43:47Speaker 1: gonna wrap this up here soon. We got some little
- 43:49Speaker 1: product recommendation for your survival kit. Myself. I'll keep it short,
- 43:52Speaker 1: I'll keep it tight, I'll keep it right. Yeah. Yeah.
- 43:55Speaker 1: A go to for myself is every evening we down
- 44:00Speaker 1: at the dinner table and I have The Daily Dad
- 44:02Speaker 1: sitting there by. Ryan Holliday, awesome guy to look into
- 44:05Speaker 1: for the Daily Dad newsletter. He's got a book called
- 44:08Speaker 1: The Daily Dad where it gives you like three hundred
- 44:09Speaker 1: and sixty five days of different lessons in the book
- 44:12Speaker 1: that you'll like learn and it's based on through stoicism.
- 44:15Speaker 1: Big fan of stoicism. But the Daily Dad I would
- 44:17Speaker 1: recommend for your survival kit. And I would also recommend
- 44:20Speaker 1: the book twelve Hours in twelve weeks or twelve hours
- 44:23Speaker 1: by twelve weeks. I know I've tweeted about it before,
- 44:25Speaker 1: but parents kind of like getting into the thick of like, hey,
- 44:28Speaker 1: what's a book I can read. If your dad out
- 44:30Speaker 1: there trying to figure out something you could do to
- 44:32Speaker 1: support the wife, I strongly recommend twelve hours and twelve weeks.
- 44:36Speaker 1: It's like a sleep training book that is not overly aggressive.
- 44:39Speaker 1: It's the way the child can like adapt to your
- 44:41Speaker 1: life versus you adapting to everything and catering everything around them.
- 44:45Speaker 1: It's got a lot of practical ways for you to
- 44:46Speaker 1: get them sleep trained by twelve weeks. I want to say,
- 44:49Speaker 1: Rue it took her about sixteen seventeen weeks, and Scotty
- 44:52Speaker 1: was like twelve weeks, maybe even eleven. And it was
- 44:55Speaker 1: all based around the teachings and everything inside of this book.
- 44:59Speaker 1: Twelve hours in twelve weeks. But those would be my
- 45:03Speaker 1: survival kit recommendations for dads out there thinking about something
- 45:07Speaker 1: could do, like even for yourself, like trending toward having
- 45:10Speaker 1: your first child, or maybe your first one didn't go
- 45:12Speaker 1: well and you might be looking for something in your
- 45:14Speaker 1: second one, or you might maybe in the thick of
- 45:16Speaker 1: it now and you can dive in. Yeah, but those
- 45:19Speaker 1: would be my survival kit product recommendations. Again, the first
- 45:23Speaker 1: book is just The Daily Dad, Daily Dead. Yeah, and
- 45:26Speaker 1: then the next segment being a dad Hack. I would
- 45:30Speaker 1: say plan your solo time. You realize, like you were
- 45:34Speaker 1: already you juggling this around in your mind, like you know,
- 45:36Speaker 1: life being kind of over, not like not over, but
- 45:40Speaker 1: there's gonna be a lot going on to where the
- 45:42Speaker 1: life as you know it will no longer be. You
- 45:44Speaker 1: won't have the freedom and the free time and everything
- 45:47Speaker 1: that you kind of have. You even don't realize it.
- 45:49Speaker 1: When the baby comes home, then you start realizing all
- 45:52Speaker 1: these different things that mom might know and understand, and
- 45:54Speaker 1: you're just trying to figure out where do you fit
- 45:56Speaker 1: in the whole puzzle. Yeah, I would say planning your
- 45:59Speaker 1: solo time because you're gonna be spread then through work,
- 46:02Speaker 1: you're gonna be spread then through being at home being
- 46:04Speaker 1: supportive to where you kind of like lose time for yourself.
- 46:08Speaker 1: So planning your solo time, whether it's a workout an
- 46:10Speaker 1: hour a day, whether it's the time you want to
- 46:13Speaker 1: pull out the you know, the lifeline of taking a
- 46:16Speaker 1: deuce at the right time, or reading a book, whatever
- 46:18Speaker 1: your solo time looks like, you need to make sure
- 46:20Speaker 1: to start planning for it, because a lot of things
- 46:23Speaker 1: change when you do have kids, and if you're out
- 46:25Speaker 1: there trying to think of ways that you might be missing.
- 46:27Speaker 1: How to feed yourself is plan out, schedule out your
- 46:31Speaker 1: solo time.
- 46:32Speaker 2: I love that very quickly. I'll segue into one. I
- 46:37Speaker 2: need to get that daily dad. I'm gonna give myself
- 46:40Speaker 2: a homework assignment. Okay, of getting daily dads. Starting to
- 46:43Speaker 2: read into that, because our next segment is what are
- 46:50Speaker 2: the odds? Shout out fan duel with what are the odds?
- 46:53Speaker 2: We'll just be talking about anything that's crazy coincidence that
- 46:56Speaker 2: happened with the kids. Maybe they puked and they missed
- 47:00Speaker 2: every single thing except for that one really nice thing
- 47:03Speaker 2: in your living room.
- 47:04Speaker 1: That's the.
- 47:06Speaker 2: The segment. But what are the odds? Is Scarlet is
- 47:12Speaker 2: potentially going to be a freedom baby, pending that Jill
- 47:18Speaker 2: is going to get induced on July third.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Explain that what's a freedom baby.
- 47:24Speaker 2: A freedom baby is a baby that would be born
- 47:27Speaker 2: on July fourth, the fourth of July Independence Day. Got so, Scarlette,
- 47:35Speaker 2: that's all right, but Scarlet potentially being a freedom baby.
- 47:39Speaker 2: Jill called me today. They said, baby Scarlet is looking healthy.
- 47:43Speaker 2: She had a stress test and a screening today. They said,
- 47:45Speaker 2: we want to induce you at thirty eight weeks and
- 47:50Speaker 2: that will be the week of July first, and we
- 47:53Speaker 2: want to aim for July third, so she will be
- 47:55Speaker 2: born on the fourth of July.
- 47:57Speaker 1: Ooh, our little firecracker. Dude, I'm hype for you, man.
- 48:05Speaker 1: We're the world's gonna change. Oh, but I'm hype for you, bro. Yeah.
- 48:08Speaker 2: My life is over as as I know it, as
- 48:11Speaker 2: you know.
- 48:11Speaker 1: It right now as a somebody who gets to kind
- 48:14Speaker 1: of operate selfishly with your wife. Yeah, life's over life.
- 48:19Speaker 1: That life's behind you.
- 48:21Speaker 2: That's the spodcast.
- 48:22Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's why. Yeah, that's why you have
- 48:24Speaker 1: a safe space now. Yes, sweetheart, we love you, chili Bean,
- 48:27Speaker 1: we love you.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Hey, I'm glad that you said that at the beginning,
- 48:30Speaker 2: because that did that took the pressure off. I was like,
- 48:32Speaker 2: I do need to act like you know, no one's listening.
- 48:36Speaker 1: Yeah, we're just talking. We're just talking. This is this
- 48:39Speaker 1: is a conversation just for the dads. Only dads are listening.
- 48:42Speaker 1: Only dads are listening.
- 48:43Speaker 2: You thinks you could be charged with if you're just
- 48:45Speaker 2: talking about Yeah, yeah, we're just talking about it.
- 48:48Speaker 1: We're standing around the garage events. Okay. So to wrap
- 48:54Speaker 1: it up, yes, to wrap it up quote lesson or
- 48:59Speaker 1: mantra in a phrase, because you're going to be a
- 49:02Speaker 1: girl dad as well. So this is more tailored towards
- 49:05Speaker 1: the girl dad's out there. And one that you hear
- 49:09Speaker 1: a phrase that you love and you don't quite understand it.
- 49:12Speaker 1: And it's not like a moment that happens, but it's
- 49:14Speaker 1: like moments in fatherhood that you begin to realize how
- 49:17Speaker 1: important this is. But my lesson that's going to stem
- 49:22Speaker 1: from this quote Will's lesson of the week lesson of
- 49:25Speaker 1: the week is that and I have a little write
- 49:28Speaker 1: up about this, is that you are your daughter's first love.
- 49:34Speaker 1: And it's not something where you're trying to be romantic.
- 49:37Speaker 1: It's about being the first role model of what love
- 49:40Speaker 1: looks like. You're the first man to hold her, You're
- 49:43Speaker 1: the first one to make her laugh on a hard day.
- 49:46Speaker 1: You're the first one to show her that love doesn't
- 49:49Speaker 1: have to be hurt or earn or beg to be kept.
- 49:53Speaker 1: And that's a huge responsibility. It's a lot of pressure,
- 49:55Speaker 1: but it's also a gift because how you treat her
- 49:58Speaker 1: how you treat her mom, and how you show up
- 50:00Speaker 1: when it's inconvenient or hard. She's watching, not just now,
- 50:05Speaker 1: but forever. She's learning what does it mean to be protected?
- 50:09Speaker 1: What does it look like when someone listens to me?
- 50:12Speaker 1: And am I worth someone's time even when they're tired?
- 50:16Speaker 1: Because you are laying down the emotional hardwiring that she
- 50:19Speaker 1: will lean on for years. And that's not the pressure
- 50:23Speaker 1: the girl that's out there, but to empower you. Because
- 50:26Speaker 1: when you kiss her on the forehead, or you let
- 50:27Speaker 1: her put bows in your hair, or you say I
- 50:29Speaker 1: love you for no reason, you're teaching her this is
- 50:32Speaker 1: how love should feel. Did you write that? Yeah, I
- 50:37Speaker 1: put the pin the paper a little bit. I had
- 50:40Speaker 1: a little bit of help. Damn, a couple articles on it.
- 50:44Speaker 1: I'm reading. I'm in the middle of reading the book
- 50:47Speaker 1: Strong Father's Strong Daughters. And there's a part in the
- 50:50Speaker 1: book where the author she talks about this and so,
- 50:58Speaker 1: and it's a it's yeah, it's I think it's great.
- 51:03Speaker 1: I Uh.
- 51:05Speaker 2: One, that gets me fucking juiced because I have a
- 51:07Speaker 2: little girl myself coming. Yeah, And two, maybe we didn't
- 51:10Speaker 2: touch on it enough at the top. I want everybody
- 51:14Speaker 2: to know I'm scared shitless to have a daughter, yeah, buddy,
- 51:18Speaker 2: But yes, I have the most incredible wife in the world.
- 51:22Speaker 2: She was raised by a single mother, and Jill's the
- 51:26Speaker 2: most incredible woman in the world. Her, my mother in law,
- 51:29Speaker 2: is incredible to all herself. But I see the relationship
- 51:34Speaker 2: that Jill already has with my dad, her father in law,
- 51:37Speaker 2: and how special that relationship is to her. And uh,
- 51:42Speaker 2: it's a it's a really tall order. It's a really
- 51:48Speaker 2: tall order. And I'm really lucky. And uh, dude, I'm
- 51:51Speaker 2: fucking stoked to be here, to have met you and
- 51:55Speaker 2: Taylor and to really learn from you guys and have
- 51:59Speaker 2: this like opportunity to prep myself because I I feel
- 52:03Speaker 2: so much more like mentally ready. But that message was incredible, dude.
- 52:09Speaker 2: I'm I'm fighting back to yours pretty hard.
- 52:11Speaker 1: But uh so a good being weird you're always fighting
- 52:14Speaker 1: him back there at the end. Yeah.
- 52:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but I'm I'm so juiced by that. I almost
- 52:19Speaker 2: want to ride down and have it printed off and
- 52:21Speaker 2: that can live on the set. I can't believe you
- 52:23Speaker 2: wrote that, dude, that that was like run through a
- 52:26Speaker 2: brick wall stuff.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's you. I mean you, you you know the
- 52:30Speaker 1: history a little bit any way that I had with
- 52:33Speaker 1: uh with my mom. Yeah, and it's like the same
- 52:36Speaker 1: thing on the other side, it is like you're the
- 52:40Speaker 1: same being a boy for a mom. So it does.
- 52:43Speaker 1: It hits, It hits at a deep level. But hey,
- 52:48Speaker 1: they this is an awesome this is an awesome episode.
- 52:50Speaker 1: This is an awesome first episode. I gotta get out
- 52:52Speaker 1: of this. I gotta get out of this right now.

- 53:13Speaker 1: to put in the end credits. We'd love to roll
- 53:15Speaker 1: kind of a highlight reel of of gender reviews and
- 53:17Speaker 1: positive dad moments and just embrace the badass dads who
- 53:20Speaker 1: are out there.
- 53:21Speaker 2: Send them in, Send them in.

- 53:50Speaker 1: was done by people none other than myself, but it's
- 53:53Speaker 1: based around wolves, and I remember asking the question, do
- 53:57Speaker 1: you realize how much I love that this is themed
- 53:59Speaker 1: around wolves? Because I am obsessed with wolves being the protector,
- 54:02Speaker 1: you know, the pac mentality and everything else. But we
