- 0:05Speaker 1: NFL Now is a production of the NFL in partnership
- 0:08Speaker 1: with I Heart Radio. Wilson takes a high snap, one
- 0:13Speaker 1: hands at, bounces around, bounces around, throws the ball and
- 0:17Speaker 1: it is deflected into plint Man zone and the cults
- 0:21Speaker 1: that long. Russ had all kinds of time, couldn't find
- 0:24Speaker 1: anybody open. Took a chance he was going to sudden
- 0:27Speaker 1: the whole way. Russell should know better than to tries
- 0:30Speaker 1: to find Gilmore. Well, he's got handler wide open, Nip
- 0:35Speaker 1: was wide open. Tough one to lose. Colts beats Broncos
- 0:39Speaker 1: twelve to nine. Hard to call that one an overtime
- 0:50Speaker 1: thriller last night. Hello and welcome into NFL Now. I'm
- 0:54Speaker 1: am Race in the NFL Network newsroom will have much
- 0:56Speaker 1: more on the fallout in Denver on the Broncos loss
- 0:59Speaker 1: against the Colts on Thursday Night Football. Will have all
- 1:02Speaker 1: your injury updates still to come, and will also have
- 1:05Speaker 1: Jets linebackers C. J. Moseley set to join us ahead
- 1:08Speaker 1: of their big showdown in the a f C East
- 1:11Speaker 1: against the Dolphins. But we start with the injury front
- 1:15Speaker 1: or NFL insiders Ian Rappaport, Tom Pellicero and Mike garyl
- 1:19Speaker 1: folo Ian. We'll start with you the huge game in London,
- 1:22Speaker 1: Giants and Packers. They're both now in London. What's the
- 1:26Speaker 1: latest on the Giants injury front? Now, some positive injury
- 1:30Speaker 1: news right off the back for the Giants. They have
- 1:32Speaker 1: been hopeful and optimistic about the status of Daniel Jones.
- 1:35Speaker 1: They're starting quarterback who suffered looked to be a pretty
- 1:37Speaker 1: painful ankling ankle injury last Sunday, came back in the game. Uh,
- 1:41Speaker 1: and we did not know what his status was gonna
- 1:44Speaker 1: be this week. Good news he is off the injury report,
- 1:47Speaker 1: practice fully today and will play on Sunday. So certainly
- 1:51Speaker 1: some questions, plenty of questions with the Giants, but good
- 1:53Speaker 1: news on Daniel Jones. I Meanwhile, his backup Tyrod Taylor
- 1:57Speaker 1: out with a concussion, not as good news. And the
- 2:00Speaker 1: receiving front though, Canarius Tony, the first rounder from last year,
- 2:03Speaker 1: I mean, look at these injury for the Giants, for
- 2:05Speaker 1: so many of them. Candaris Tony, their first rounder from
- 2:08Speaker 1: last year, tweaked his hamstring, then tweetdes other hamstring. He
- 2:11Speaker 1: is officially out. One Dale Robinson, their second rounder, who
- 2:14Speaker 1: I knew they have really really high hopes for dealing
- 2:16Speaker 1: with a knee injury was a d NP today officially out.
- 2:20Speaker 1: He also will not play, and then Kenny Golla guys
- 2:23Speaker 1: deal with an mcl spring did not make the trip
- 2:26Speaker 1: to London. They hope it's just a minor injury, but
- 2:28Speaker 1: he also has been ruled out for the Giants. Right meanwhile, Mike,
- 2:32Speaker 1: the Browns are coming off that loss against the Falcons
- 2:35Speaker 1: potentially could get Miles Garrett back, he was out in Atlanta.
- 2:38Speaker 1: What's the latest on garrett status? Doesn't seem to be
- 2:42Speaker 1: any potential about it. Omar Miles Garrett is going to play.
- 2:45Speaker 1: He has been on track to play since he returned
- 2:47Speaker 1: to practice on Wednesday, telling reporters uh that he feels ready,
- 2:52Speaker 1: feels good, ready to make a difference and change this
- 2:55Speaker 1: game when I am in it. He is a game
- 2:57Speaker 1: changer when he is on the field and healthy. So
- 3:00Speaker 1: obviously huge for the Browns to have him back. The
- 3:02Speaker 1: question is are they gonna have Jadevian Clowney as well.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Clowney returned to practice in a limited capacity, it seems today,
- 3:10Speaker 1: and has that ankle issue that he's been working on.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Sounds like he's going to be a bit of a
- 3:15Speaker 1: game time decision there. That ankle was injured in that
- 3:18Speaker 1: Jet game a couple of weeks ago. So we'll see
- 3:20Speaker 1: if the Browns are at full strength. I mean, can't
- 3:22Speaker 1: say full strength. Neither guy's really gonna but maybe they're
- 3:26Speaker 1: both on the field together. That's the way it was
- 3:29Speaker 1: drawn up and that's the way the Browns are most effective.
- 3:30Speaker 1: We'll let you know on Sunday whether that's the case. Yeah,
- 3:33Speaker 1: that certainly can use all the help they can get
- 3:34Speaker 1: against the firepower that is justin Herbert and the Chargers offense. Meanwhile,
- 3:39Speaker 1: the Lions have had an incredible offense. They're up against
- 3:41Speaker 1: the New England Patriots. Uh this Sunday questions about the
- 3:45Speaker 1: Patriots quarterback situation, Tom, what's the latest there? Olmar mac
- 3:50Speaker 1: Jones was on the field again today, has been limited
- 3:52Speaker 1: in practice this week. Our guy Mike Giordi, who's there
- 3:55Speaker 1: all the time, said Mac looks pretty much the same
- 3:57Speaker 1: as he has throughout the week. He's still moving with
- 3:59Speaker 1: a limp, but certainly more mobile than he was a
- 4:02Speaker 1: week ago. And Bill Belichick said two reporters it Max
- 4:05Speaker 1: certainly is a lot closer to plane than he was
- 4:08Speaker 1: at this time last Friday. Now what does all that mean? Well,
- 4:11Speaker 1: Mac Jones has is he and I have reported a
- 4:13Speaker 1: pretty severe high ankle sprain that is normally a four
- 4:17Speaker 1: to six week injury. Mac Jones is like twelve days
- 4:20Speaker 1: out from suffering it. Now could he find a way
- 4:23Speaker 1: to play on Sunday. We'll find out if the Patriots
- 4:26Speaker 1: give him a chance when the injury report comes out,
- 4:28Speaker 1: but if not, the rest of the Patriots depth chart
- 4:30Speaker 1: right now, Brian Hoyer is out four games on injury
- 4:33Speaker 1: deserve after a concussion. Rookie Bailey Zappy, who made his
- 4:36Speaker 1: NFL debut five days ago, would be the one in
- 4:39Speaker 1: line to get the start, and then the backup would
- 4:42Speaker 1: be Garrett Gilbert, who signed like three days ago to
- 4:45Speaker 1: the practice squad. So moving parts for the Patriots. They're
- 4:48Speaker 1: facing the Lions team that's got some question marks as well.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Wide receiver amant Ross st Brown did return to practice today,
- 4:55Speaker 1: most likely in a limited capacity, but Dan Campbell not
- 4:58Speaker 1: yet ruling him out because of that ankle injury that
- 5:00Speaker 1: he suffered a couple of weeks ago against Minnesota. Camp
- 5:03Speaker 1: also not ruling o running act DeAndre Swifto got hurt
- 5:06Speaker 1: in that same game, but Swift is dealing with a
- 5:08Speaker 1: shoulder spring as well as an ankle spring. The idea
- 5:12Speaker 1: going into this really was give Swift that extra week
- 5:15Speaker 1: because the Lions have their by coming up next week.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Let him get more healthy. Though again, we'll see whether
- 5:21Speaker 1: or not st Brown potentially could get back on the
- 5:24Speaker 1: field this week and if it is Bailey's appia to
- 5:26Speaker 1: come in with a lot of confidence the way he
- 5:29Speaker 1: and and the Patriots took the Packers to overtime last week,
- 5:33Speaker 1: going against the Lions defense that gave up forty eight
- 5:36Speaker 1: points to Gino Smith and the Seahawks. Luck to look
- 5:39Speaker 1: forward to this weekend. Mike Ian Tom, thank you all
- 5:41Speaker 1: very much. Meanwhile, the Packers Aaron Rodgers going for a
- 5:46Speaker 1: walk in London. Matt Lafleur wanted the team to stay
- 5:49Speaker 1: awake and make sure they moved around after practice. Rogers
- 5:53Speaker 1: looking at the dog making friends. They're in England as
- 5:57Speaker 1: the Packers get ready to play the Giants. Meanwhile, here
- 6:01Speaker 1: was their practice video a little earlier today. Both games
- 6:05Speaker 1: flying Thursday night, landing Friday morning. Of course, the game
- 6:09Speaker 1: is nine thirty Sunday right here on NFL Network. You
- 6:13Speaker 1: can catch our coverage starting at seven am with NFL
- 6:16Speaker 1: Game Day kickoff ore Stacy Dale's caught up with Alan
- 6:19Speaker 1: Lazard a little earlier today. Packers receiver Alan Lazard is
- 6:25Speaker 1: in London with us. Just got off the practice field.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I guess the obvious question is, like, how do you feel?
- 6:30Speaker 1: Where's your body at just hopping off a plane into practice. Um,
- 6:34Speaker 1: still kind of get acclimated to everything here obviously, but
- 6:37Speaker 1: still pretty excited, you know, for the game Sunday and everything.
- 6:40Speaker 1: And I'm going to get some downtime now to be
- 6:42Speaker 1: able to go out and explore and be able to
- 6:44Speaker 1: you know, see the sight seeing some London. So I
- 6:46Speaker 1: had the Vikings Saints last week and Justin Jefferson told
- 6:49Speaker 1: me he doesn't drink coffee, but they had espresso waiting
- 6:52Speaker 1: for them. Well, well, how are you all going to
- 6:53Speaker 1: stay awake to get your bodies ready in a short turnaround?
- 6:56Speaker 1: A lot of black coffee, A lot of black coffee,
- 6:58Speaker 1: No sugar, no cream, no milk, no nothing, just black coffee,
- 7:01Speaker 1: just stray from the source. Um, organically, you're kind of
- 7:05Speaker 1: the U, I would say, you know you and and
- 7:08Speaker 1: Randall really the Elder States been at this receiving corps
- 7:11Speaker 1: Um Alan, Where is the chemistry between you guys, some
- 7:14Speaker 1: of the young players, you know, Christian jobs like in
- 7:18Speaker 1: your quarterback Aaron Rodgers. I think it's right where it
- 7:20Speaker 1: needs to be. You know. Obviously, Grandall and I have
- 7:22Speaker 1: been in the system for quite some time and have
- 7:23Speaker 1: a very good, comfortable chemistry with Aaron. Um and those
- 7:27Speaker 1: young guys are building every single day. And you know,
- 7:29Speaker 1: we don't need to be UM at a super Bowl
- 7:32Speaker 1: level just yet, you know, only going to week five
- 7:34Speaker 1: and everything, so there's a lot of room for growth, UM,
- 7:36Speaker 1: for the young guys and and and us as a
- 7:39Speaker 1: collective group as well. But Um, you know, I think
- 7:41Speaker 1: we're right where we need to be. We're three in
- 7:42Speaker 1: one obviously, have a great upon them this Sunday, and
- 7:44Speaker 1: it's done the opportunity to go out there and showcase
- 7:46Speaker 1: our talents. You are three and one. After your Patriots
- 7:48Speaker 1: win this past week, Aaron said, we've got to get
- 7:50Speaker 1: into a rhythm earlier and start faster. Ten points I
- 7:53Speaker 1: think combined in the first quarter of your first four games, right,
- 7:56Speaker 1: how do you do that here in London? Oh? You know,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I think you know that with the new environment, UM,
- 8:02Speaker 1: new challenges you know, we'll get available for us to
- 8:06Speaker 1: be able to be able to have a new start,
- 8:07Speaker 1: new change to come out there, come hot and um
- 8:10Speaker 1: just be able to go play fast early. It's sold
- 8:13Speaker 1: out at Tottenham one Sunday, first time here for the Packers.
- 8:16Speaker 1: What's that? What would win mean? Oh? I mean everything? Obviously,
- 8:19Speaker 1: I think there was the first time to three and
- 8:21Speaker 1: one teams. The two UM teams with the positive record
- 8:24Speaker 1: are are facing over here and everything, and then obviously
- 8:27Speaker 1: the legendary historical Tottenham Stadium and all the history that
- 8:30Speaker 1: they've had their to be able to play here, I'll
- 8:32Speaker 1: be able to play for the Packers against the Giants
- 8:34Speaker 1: UM over here. It's something pretty special and I won't
- 8:36Speaker 1: take it for granted. Well, we appreciate you, thanks for
- 8:39Speaker 1: joining us. Enjoy enjoy the experience, Alasar. Yeah, Lazard was
- 8:43Speaker 1: absolutely correct on paper. This is the best game we've
- 8:47Speaker 1: ever had in London, a pair of three and one
- 8:49Speaker 1: team's first time ever we've had two teams with renning
- 8:52Speaker 1: records play in London. The game kicks off Sunday at
- 8:56Speaker 1: nine through the Eastern right here on NFL Network and
- 8:58Speaker 1: again our coverage kicks off at seven am Eastern on
- 9:01Speaker 1: NFL Game Day Kickoff. For more on the X experience
- 9:06Speaker 1: in London, our very own Mark Ross took in the
- 9:08Speaker 1: game between the Vikings and Saints last Sunday. What did
- 9:11Speaker 1: you think, Mark Man, It's a phenomenal experience there, Omar Look,
- 9:16Speaker 1: I was with the Giants in two thousand seven the
- 9:18Speaker 1: first time we went over there and played Miami and
- 9:21Speaker 1: we played at Wembley Stadium. It was rainy and that
- 9:23Speaker 1: field was just just real low for those soccer players
- 9:26Speaker 1: tore the field up, and it was more a curiosity
- 9:28Speaker 1: situation for the fans, like what is going on here?
- 9:32Speaker 1: And now going the other day to London and just
- 9:34Speaker 1: walking around. It was the first time I had been
- 9:36Speaker 1: to a game as a fan. Of course I had
- 9:39Speaker 1: the credential I was there with the NFL league golfers,
- 9:42Speaker 1: with the international combine that they have, but really just
- 9:45Speaker 1: to walk around and absorb the atmosphere with the with
- 9:49Speaker 1: the stadium. And it's interesting that even though it was
- 9:51Speaker 1: a Saint's home game and the Vikings were playing, you
- 9:53Speaker 1: see a bunch of their jerseys the fans there. They
- 9:56Speaker 1: were every single jersey possible in the NFL. They just
- 9:59Speaker 1: put a Jersey on and they show up. So you
- 10:00Speaker 1: look around the crowd and you see every single team representative,
- 10:04Speaker 1: different error in different years represented. But it's really such
- 10:08Speaker 1: more of a true football fan there now as opposed
- 10:11Speaker 1: to oh seven when we went and it was just
- 10:13Speaker 1: like what is this? But now there's so much more informed,
- 10:16Speaker 1: there's so much more passionate and knowledgeable about the game,
- 10:20Speaker 1: and so it's just really a different sort of atmosphere
- 10:23Speaker 1: than going to a game in the States, where you
- 10:26Speaker 1: know you've got your home team, you've got your way team,
- 10:28Speaker 1: you're either rooting or booming for the team. Here, it's
- 10:31Speaker 1: just all sort of a celebration of football, and you'll
- 10:34Speaker 1: see that evolve more and more in these London games
- 10:38Speaker 1: and worldwide. Yeah, certainly. I was there in twenty nineteen
- 10:41Speaker 1: for the Rams Bengals game in London and it feels
- 10:44Speaker 1: like a Super Bowl atmosphere the way you mentioned that
- 10:47Speaker 1: there's teams representing from all thirty two clubs there with
- 10:50Speaker 1: the fans in the stands. But I think we've seen
- 10:52Speaker 1: a little bit of a change recently, Mark, there have
- 10:55Speaker 1: been more fans from the respective teams that are playing
- 10:58Speaker 1: to have a little more crowd impact will. We'll see
- 11:01Speaker 1: how the Giants and Packers fans turn out on Sunday.
- 11:04Speaker 1: Mark Ross, thank you very much. Still to come here
- 11:07Speaker 1: see j Moseley set to join us for more on
- 11:10Speaker 1: that matchup Jets and Dolphins. It's a good one. A
- 11:13Speaker 1: f C East that's next on NFL. Now, London is
- 11:20Speaker 1: the place to be for the matchup of the week,
- 11:23Speaker 1: the Giants and the Packers in London, pair of three
- 11:27Speaker 1: and one teams. Aaron Rodgers making his London debut, first
- 11:32Speaker 1: time a reigning MVP has played in London. Of course,
- 11:35Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers has been eating up. He has two touchdown
- 11:38Speaker 1: passes three games in a row. They won three in
- 11:41Speaker 1: a row. Romeo Dobbs that connection hitting up. Now let's
- 11:44Speaker 1: send it over to our fantasy crew with more quarterback
- 11:47Speaker 1: receiver stacks. We all like getting fantasy points and having
- 11:52Speaker 1: our fantasy guys score touchdowns. You know it's even better
- 11:54Speaker 1: than that being able to double up, which is why
- 11:55Speaker 1: we're talking stacks. Our favorite quarterback pass catcher Duo's coming
- 11:59Speaker 1: up for Week five. So like Florio, who is yours?
- 12:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna go with Joe Burrow and Jamaar Chase. Here
- 12:04Speaker 1: we old one that they have a very strong connection together.
- 12:08Speaker 1: And last year in two games against the Ravens, who
- 12:11Speaker 1: are allowing a ton of production to quarterbacks and receivers.
- 12:14Speaker 1: This year, Joe Burrow through for nearly a thousand yards
- 12:17Speaker 1: and seven touchdowns. That's that's pretty good. And the last
- 12:20Speaker 1: time Jamaar Chase was in Baltimore, he went off for
- 12:23Speaker 1: over thirty poor Fantasy points. So I think this is
- 12:25Speaker 1: a get right game for Chase and I like both
- 12:27Speaker 1: of them a lot. This week, you know, I'm gonna
- 12:29Speaker 1: go with the with the stack of Patrick Mahomes and
- 12:33Speaker 1: Travis Kelsey and two players that have had a lot
- 12:35Speaker 1: of success, especially recently, over the Las Vegas Raiders. This
- 12:40Speaker 1: has been a very one sided rivalry, like back in
- 12:42Speaker 1: the nineties when The Rock was going up against Stone Cold,
- 12:46Speaker 1: and Stone Cold seemingly won every time, although stone Well
- 12:48Speaker 1: did win. No wait, the Rock did win in WrestleMania nineteen.
- 12:51Speaker 1: But the thing is, these guys score a lot of
- 12:53Speaker 1: points against the Raiders, so make sure you're stacking them
- 12:56Speaker 1: up this. I don't have any wrestling references, but I
- 12:58Speaker 1: do have Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs for your top
- 13:01Speaker 1: candidates for these stacks situation. This week, they're playing in hit,
- 13:05Speaker 1: They're playing against Pittsburgh at home. I think this home
- 13:08Speaker 1: crowd wants to see a lot of points, Josh Allen
- 13:11Speaker 1: scoring tons of them. Ste Find Digs the only player
- 13:13Speaker 1: in the NFL with over four hundred receiving yards and
- 13:16Speaker 1: four touchdowns this season. So I'm looking at this one
- 13:19Speaker 1: and I could even add like a little bit of
- 13:20Speaker 1: Devin Singletary. Oh my god, I see with a triple stack.
- 13:24Speaker 1: You want all these millennial quarterbacks, I'm going gen X
- 13:27Speaker 1: with Tom Brady throwing the ball to Mike Evans this week.
- 13:30Speaker 1: We saw Brady kind of get back to his fantasy
- 13:33Speaker 1: form last week, even though it was a loss against
- 13:35Speaker 1: the Kansas City Chiefs. He threw for three touchdowns nearly
- 13:38Speaker 1: four hundred yards, and right now Mike Evans is his
- 13:40Speaker 1: number one receiver. Evans seen a lot of opportunity, especially
- 13:44Speaker 1: down near the end zone, leading the team in end
- 13:46Speaker 1: zone targets, also getting a ton of the air yards.
- 13:49Speaker 1: The matchup is great this week against the Atlanta Falcons,
- 13:51Speaker 1: so I think Tom Brady and Mike Evans have a
- 13:53Speaker 1: big day working together. Hey, if you want more great
- 13:56Speaker 1: information like that, and why wouldn't you be sure to
- 13:58Speaker 1: check out NFL Fantasy Live were you every single weekday
- 14:01Speaker 1: Monday through Friday. A lot of talk this off see
- 14:05Speaker 1: is in about the youth movement in New York. The Jets,
- 14:08Speaker 1: Saws Gardner, Breece Hall, rookies Garrett Wilson's second year quarterback
- 14:12Speaker 1: Zach Wilson, but it's been one of their veteran leaders
- 14:16Speaker 1: leading the way. Four time Pro bowler c J. Mosley,
- 14:20Speaker 1: whose seventh in the NFL this season in tackles, c
- 14:23Speaker 1: J mostly joining us now on NFL Now, c J.
- 14:26Speaker 1: How you doing? Oh well, how about you? Yeah? Pretty good?
- 14:30Speaker 1: Two and two. You guys are off to a great
- 14:32Speaker 1: start with those incredible wins, two double digit fourth quarter
- 14:36Speaker 1: comebacks you've had this season. It's been a struggle to
- 14:39Speaker 1: get wins since you've been with the Jets. Siege Lay,
- 14:41Speaker 1: Where does this belief that you guys are always in
- 14:44Speaker 1: the game come from? Um? It really just comes down
- 14:48Speaker 1: to our execution. UM. You know, we've been playing really
- 14:51Speaker 1: well in the first half of games. I've been been
- 14:53Speaker 1: playing well in third quarters. And you know, when we
- 14:56Speaker 1: on defense, when we have a control explosive able to
- 14:59Speaker 1: get off the field on third down, offensive standing drives, um,
- 15:02Speaker 1: and have a good back and forth game. Games always
- 15:05Speaker 1: come down to the fourth court in this league. And
- 15:06Speaker 1: if you execute and you stick to your game playing, um,
- 15:09Speaker 1: usually those those are teams that win the games. Yeah.
- 15:12Speaker 1: How rewarding has this season been for you? C J know,
- 15:14Speaker 1: twenty nineteen miss most of the year because of injury
- 15:17Speaker 1: and then opted out of the COVID season, bounced back
- 15:20Speaker 1: last year and then early season's success here. What's that
- 15:23Speaker 1: been like for you? Um? It's been fun. Um, it's
- 15:26Speaker 1: always fun winning. Everything hurts a little less when you
- 15:29Speaker 1: win these these first four games. You know, we've learned
- 15:32Speaker 1: a lot as a team. We learned a lot about ourselves.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Most appointedly, Um, you know, we figured out ways to
- 15:38Speaker 1: win tough football games on the road. So you know,
- 15:41Speaker 1: we're coming into this Sunday, we have a home game
- 15:43Speaker 1: division games, so we're very excited. But we have to
- 15:46Speaker 1: make sure that we keep the main thing the main thing,
- 15:48Speaker 1: and that's us execute our game plan, make plays and
- 15:51Speaker 1: fly around and how fun. Yeah, Literally, you're gonna have
- 15:54Speaker 1: to try to slow down and figuratively slow down Tyreek
- 15:56Speaker 1: Hill and Jalen Waddle with that speed that they have
- 15:59Speaker 1: on that Dolphins offense. What is the key to slowing
- 16:02Speaker 1: them down? We're the first keep for us is you know,
- 16:05Speaker 1: keeping keeping the aige on the parameters. They like to
- 16:07Speaker 1: run the ball on the edges, you know, they like
- 16:09Speaker 1: to do a lot of motions, a lot of jets
- 16:11Speaker 1: and things like that to get their players in space.
- 16:14Speaker 1: So once we control the run game, UM, it's all
- 16:16Speaker 1: about the back end, you know, playing playing ball, playing
- 16:19Speaker 1: pitch and catch and you know they're gonna throw the
- 16:20Speaker 1: ball up. We gotta have those those long balls, those
- 16:23Speaker 1: d balls, um double and have the linebackers playing good,
- 16:26Speaker 1: good defense on the back end once we get a
- 16:29Speaker 1: good roof of their play action. Speaking of the back end,
- 16:31Speaker 1: you have Sauce Gardner, a rookie corner who's been off
- 16:34Speaker 1: to a great start. You as a rookie made a
- 16:36Speaker 1: Pro Bowl there. What have you seen from Sauce and
- 16:39Speaker 1: some of the other younger players on defense there? O
- 16:42Speaker 1: would say, the main thing that that stands out with
- 16:45Speaker 1: our young guys, UM, including Sauce and you know all
- 16:47Speaker 1: the guys that came in, is just they're they're key
- 16:49Speaker 1: to detail, Um, the way they trying to execute every
- 16:52Speaker 1: day that come in, they come into meetings ready to
- 16:55Speaker 1: come in focus, not a lot of playing around, um Man.
- 16:58Speaker 1: You know, that's a lot of credit to the guys
- 17:00Speaker 1: that that we have around them. You know, you know,
- 17:02Speaker 1: clue to meet, including the other vets and players I've
- 17:04Speaker 1: been in this lead when we come to work, um
- 17:07Speaker 1: you know, when we step on the field, man, we
- 17:08Speaker 1: know it's about business. We're trying to execute. We're trying
- 17:10Speaker 1: to set the tone for the weekend. They the younger
- 17:13Speaker 1: guys are are buying into that system. They're buying into
- 17:16Speaker 1: that role, and they understand that we need them to
- 17:18Speaker 1: play great every day from in order in order for
- 17:21Speaker 1: us to have a chance as a veteran. Is that
- 17:23Speaker 1: something you had to impress upon them or do they
- 17:24Speaker 1: come in like that? Honestly, they really came in like that.
- 17:28Speaker 1: It's our job to keep them focused. You know, it's
- 17:30Speaker 1: our job to to lead the way for them on
- 17:33Speaker 1: and off the field when it when it comes to execution,
- 17:35Speaker 1: when it comes to taking care of their body, watching film,
- 17:38Speaker 1: looking at the right things. Um you know, when we
- 17:41Speaker 1: when we're watching films, are asking the right questions, having
- 17:44Speaker 1: those little those little discussions outside of the meeting room
- 17:46Speaker 1: or when we're on the sideline of game and adjusting
- 17:49Speaker 1: the things like that. Just the way that everybody jels together,
- 17:52Speaker 1: the way we're able to all talk together and figure
- 17:55Speaker 1: out things really quick. That's that's really what I feel is.
- 17:58Speaker 1: It's been a big, a big factor FI defense this year. Yeah,
- 18:01Speaker 1: last week you got Zack Wilson back caught a touchdown,
- 18:04Speaker 1: first time that her Jets quarterback has done that. Then
- 18:06Speaker 1: he unleashes the gritty seems like he has all kinds
- 18:10Speaker 1: of swag. What's been your impression of the young quarterback? Um,
- 18:14Speaker 1: I mean it's it's something you can't coach. You know,
- 18:16Speaker 1: when when you had pressure on the last week, man,
- 18:18Speaker 1: he was just getting out of the pocket, you know,
- 18:20Speaker 1: scramble around making plays. Um, you know, I told him
- 18:23Speaker 1: after the game, I think it's most impressive player was
- 18:25Speaker 1: you know when they phoned the ball and he's somehow
- 18:27Speaker 1: scooped it up in one hand and and just remember
- 18:30Speaker 1: to just throw it out of bounds on path a
- 18:31Speaker 1: line of scrimmage. Like those those type of things you
- 18:33Speaker 1: can't coach. And when you know you have got like
- 18:35Speaker 1: Zack back there, I can make those plays and can
- 18:38Speaker 1: move around with his legs and has the arm arm
- 18:41Speaker 1: arm power to make the longer throws. No, you love
- 18:44Speaker 1: that common player because he's never out. The play is
- 18:46Speaker 1: never over, CJ. The way you guys have one in
- 18:49Speaker 1: that thrilling fashion down the stretch of games, how can
- 18:52Speaker 1: that galvanize you for the rest of the season. Um?
- 18:55Speaker 1: It really just you know, puts in perspective of of
- 18:58Speaker 1: what we just talked about. You know, when when you're execute,
- 19:01Speaker 1: when you stick to your game playing, things go the
- 19:03Speaker 1: right way. When you look at the offense, the last
- 19:07Speaker 1: job that they had to score, you know, Zach Waren
- 19:08Speaker 1: six for six as we know. But you know, everybody
- 19:10Speaker 1: did their job. It wasn't one man worn about what
- 19:13Speaker 1: the next man have to do. Everybody focus on what
- 19:15Speaker 1: they have to do individually in order for the next
- 19:18Speaker 1: man to do their job. And you know that's that's
- 19:20Speaker 1: us executing, playing the playout and when no one know,
- 19:23Speaker 1: crunch Tom moments come, you know who's going to be
- 19:25Speaker 1: that guy to make the play for us? All right?
- 19:28Speaker 1: C J. Mostly can't wait to see you on display
- 19:30Speaker 1: against Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Thanks again for joining us
- 19:33Speaker 1: here on NFL now LA. Thank you for having me
- 19:37Speaker 1: a lot of defense on display on Sunday here at
- 19:40Speaker 1: Sofi Stadium. Micah Parsons and Aaron Donald ranked second and
- 19:45Speaker 1: third in the NFL for tackles for lost since one,
- 19:48Speaker 1: trailing only Nick Bosa. Michael Parsons thing earlier this week.
- 19:52Speaker 1: He has a lot of respect for Aaron Donald the
- 19:54Speaker 1: way he plays on defense. Can't necessarily emulate him because
- 19:58Speaker 1: of their different body types and different styles of play,
- 20:00Speaker 1: But a lot of respect going back and forth, a
- 20:02Speaker 1: lot of respect for Jim Trotter here, who will be
- 20:05Speaker 1: at that game covering the Cowboys and Rams. Jim, it's
- 20:08Speaker 1: been clear for the Rams offense their offensive line has struggled.
- 20:12Speaker 1: How might they get it together against that ferocious Cowboys front? Well,
- 20:16Speaker 1: ol Mar, Let's start with the good news for the
- 20:18Speaker 1: Rams from this standpoint. David Edwards, their starting guard, is
- 20:21Speaker 1: expected to return on Sunday now. He missed last week's
- 20:24Speaker 1: game while in a concussion protocol. On Wednesday, he was
- 20:27Speaker 1: a limited participant in practice, but on Thursday he was
- 20:30Speaker 1: a full participant, so a bolts well for him. The
- 20:33Speaker 1: Rams still have issues, so they're expected to start their
- 20:36Speaker 1: fifth different starting offensive line in as many games this year. Now,
- 20:41Speaker 1: we know starting center Brian Allen was injured in Week
- 20:44Speaker 1: one against the Bills of knee injury. UH Coleman Shelton
- 20:48Speaker 1: replaced him, and then Coleman Coleman Shelton got hurt Monday
- 20:51Speaker 1: night against the forty Niners, so they will be starting
- 20:53Speaker 1: their third string center in this game. So from that standpoint,
- 20:58Speaker 1: things are not great for that offensive line, but getting
- 21:00Speaker 1: back someone like David Edwards at least is a step
- 21:03Speaker 1: in the right direction in terms of trying to alleviate
- 21:06Speaker 1: some of the issues that they have had up front. Yeah,
- 21:08Speaker 1: I remember when Sean McVeigh first got here, it seemed
- 21:10Speaker 1: like they had the same offensive line start for about
- 21:13Speaker 1: two seasons straight. Certainly, UH could get a little more
- 21:16Speaker 1: continuity here in the two season if they can get healthy. Meanwhile,
- 21:20Speaker 1: Michael Parsons exploded out the gate here, early candidate for
- 21:24Speaker 1: Defensive Player the Year. Why might he have another big
- 21:27Speaker 1: game against the Rams? Jim, you know, Homark, It's what
- 21:30Speaker 1: you said earlier. It's not just the fact that he's
- 21:32Speaker 1: going to be playing a Rams offensive line that's beat
- 21:35Speaker 1: up and decimated by injury, but it's the fact that
- 21:37Speaker 1: he has so much respect for Aaron Donald. And what
- 21:40Speaker 1: you know about great players is that typically they like
- 21:44Speaker 1: to play best when they're on the same field with
- 21:46Speaker 1: great players whom they respect. And in terms of what
- 21:49Speaker 1: um uh Michael Parson said about Aaron Donald, this quote,
- 21:53Speaker 1: it's just so telling. He said, My level of respect
- 21:55Speaker 1: for him is through the roof. He sets the tone
- 21:57Speaker 1: for their defense. He's dominated since his rookie year. He's
- 22:01Speaker 1: been in All Pro since his rookie year, and he's
- 22:03Speaker 1: the standard of how you want to be when you
- 22:06Speaker 1: come into the league. I'm hoping I can follow in
- 22:08Speaker 1: his footsteps and reach his level of greatness and success.
- 22:12Speaker 1: So when Michael Parson says something like that, it's clear
- 22:16Speaker 1: you want to get the respect of someone who you
- 22:18Speaker 1: look up to. He looks up to Aaron Donald. And
- 22:20Speaker 1: the fact that he's going to play be playing an
- 22:22Speaker 1: offensive line is decimated by injury. The fact that he
- 22:25Speaker 1: wants to show his respect for Aaron Donald by playing
- 22:28Speaker 1: so well to me could translate into a monster game
- 22:32Speaker 1: for Michael Parsons On Sunday, Michael Parsons looking for inspiration
- 22:35Speaker 1: by playing well in front of Aaron Donald. Also was
- 22:38Speaker 1: out at the Rangers game earlier this week when we
- 22:41Speaker 1: saw Aaron Judge hit the a L record setting home run.
- 22:44Speaker 1: So finding inspiring ways to contribute there as well, Jim Trotter,
- 22:48Speaker 1: thank you very much. Yeah, there's another NFC East NFC
- 22:52Speaker 1: West showdown looming in the Desert. The Eagles and Jalen
- 22:56Speaker 1: Hurds versus Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals zach Ertz
- 23:00Speaker 1: Reunion game. We'll start to break that one down next
- 23:03Speaker 1: on NFL. Now, last time we saw Patrick Mahomes on
- 23:13Speaker 1: the field, it was Sunday night in Tampa and he
- 23:15Speaker 1: pulled off the Mahomes magic, the flip to Clyde Edwards
- 23:19Speaker 1: Hilaire for the touchdown. Mahomes and the Chiefs will be
- 23:23Speaker 1: in the primetime spotlight once again, this time on Monday Night,
- 23:27Speaker 1: hosting the Las Vegas Raiders. And that's where we will
- 23:30Speaker 1: find our James Palmer on Monday. James, I know you're
- 23:33Speaker 1: excited for this one. I've actually Josh Jacobs is excited
- 23:37Speaker 1: for this one to the way he carried the football
- 23:38Speaker 1: against the Broncos last Sunday. What more can we expect
- 23:41Speaker 1: from him throughout this season? Well, well, oh, mar, we
- 23:44Speaker 1: know what what Jim broke down a little bit with
- 23:46Speaker 1: Josh Jacobs run the football, but I want to look
- 23:48Speaker 1: at it from a different angle, and you're right. Last
- 23:50Speaker 1: week against the Denver Broncos, he carries the football for
- 23:52Speaker 1: a career high hundred and forty four yards and two touchdowns.
- 23:55Speaker 1: That was the sixth best rushing defense going into that game.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Monday night, He's gonna be going against the sixth best
- 24:00Speaker 1: rushing defense right now in the Kansas City Chiefs. But
- 24:03Speaker 1: the part of Josh Jacobs run in the football early
- 24:06Speaker 1: and that playing a part and what Josh McDaniels sees
- 24:09Speaker 1: in opposing defenses could be something that he utilizes moving
- 24:13Speaker 1: forward with this Raiders offense. It allows McDaniels to see
- 24:16Speaker 1: while they're running the football early and having success. If
- 24:20Speaker 1: if Jacobs keeps carrying the football this way, to see
- 24:22Speaker 1: how teams are covering Davante Adams Darren Waller, if they're
- 24:26Speaker 1: doubling both, what kind of coverages are they using? Now
- 24:29Speaker 1: Hunter renfro is back from his concussion. He hasn't played
- 24:32Speaker 1: since the last play of Week two. So with their
- 24:34Speaker 1: big three receivers, what does Josh McDaniels realize early on
- 24:39Speaker 1: if he runs if he runs Josh Jacobs often to
- 24:43Speaker 1: find out how they're covering in the passing game his
- 24:47Speaker 1: three main targets. That's a big aspect to keep an
- 24:49Speaker 1: eye on as he goes against Steve Spagnolo on Monday night. Yeah,
- 24:53Speaker 1: and Hunter Renfrow, who's missed the last couple of games
- 24:55Speaker 1: within concussion, was back out at practice this week, so
- 24:58Speaker 1: that would be huge if the Raiders can add him
- 25:01Speaker 1: to the lineup there in Kansas City on Monday. James Palmer,
- 25:05Speaker 1: thank you very much. Meanwhile, the Battle of the Birds
- 25:09Speaker 1: in the Desert, Jalen Hurts and the Eagles put their
- 25:13Speaker 1: perfect four no record on the line against Kyler Murray
- 25:16Speaker 1: and the Cardinals. There's Zach ERTs. It will be a
- 25:19Speaker 1: reunion game for him, third reunion game in a row
- 25:21Speaker 1: for the Eagles after facing Carson Wentz and then Doug
- 25:24Speaker 1: Peterson and now Zach Kers for much more in this game,
- 25:28Speaker 1: we welcome in our Mark Ross and Jim Trotter and Mark.
- 25:31Speaker 1: We saw a couple of weeks ago that Eagles ferocious
- 25:35Speaker 1: front sack Carson Wentz nine times, but they haven't faced
- 25:38Speaker 1: a quarterback like Cayler Murray so far this year. What's
- 25:41Speaker 1: the key to contain him on Sunday. Well, the Eagles
- 25:46Speaker 1: front has a lot of versatility and a lot of
- 25:48Speaker 1: talent up front, a lot of different ways that they
- 25:50Speaker 1: could come at it. Yeah, they've faced pretty much stationary
- 25:53Speaker 1: sort of quarterbacks that Kirk Cousins and Jared Golfs and
- 25:56Speaker 1: Trevor Lawrence hasn't shown the playmaking yet. But Kyla Murrow,
- 25:59Speaker 1: we know, poses a different challenge. The thing about that
- 26:02Speaker 1: Eagles front is that they do have Hassan Reddicks and
- 26:04Speaker 1: the Brandon Grants and Fletcher cox Is up there that
- 26:07Speaker 1: they can put a lot of different bodies in there,
- 26:09Speaker 1: and a lot of athletes on the back end with
- 26:11Speaker 1: the Darius Slave that they can pretty much rush with
- 26:14Speaker 1: four and have containment with the linebackers. The huge thing
- 26:18Speaker 1: I think for the Eagles defenses they start fast, number
- 26:21Speaker 1: one scoring team in the first half with the with
- 26:23Speaker 1: the Eagles offense, and the Cardinals are the last our
- 26:27Speaker 1: last in the NFL and scoring, So the Eagles front.
- 26:30Speaker 1: If the Eagles get up early like they've done and
- 26:32Speaker 1: crushed opponents in the first half like they've done the
- 26:34Speaker 1: first four games, and the Cardinals starts slow, that'll make
- 26:37Speaker 1: it even more Uh, that will make it easier for
- 26:40Speaker 1: that Eagles front that sort of contain Kyler and make
- 26:42Speaker 1: him bleed out the clock, bleed out plays and not
- 26:45Speaker 1: give up the big exposive plays like we saw Kyler
- 26:48Speaker 1: doing the the huge comebacks that the Cardinals have won
- 26:51Speaker 1: this year. Yeah, the Eagles have been absolutely dominant in
- 26:54Speaker 1: that second quarter of this season. Meanwhile, for the Cardinals gym,
- 26:57Speaker 1: what's the keys for them to hand the Eagles their
- 27:00Speaker 1: first loss? Well, I want to put some meat on
- 27:02Speaker 1: the bone to what Mark just said about the Cardinals
- 27:05Speaker 1: low start. Consider these numbers. They have yet to score
- 27:08Speaker 1: a single point in the first quarter this season. They're
- 27:11Speaker 1: the only team that has not scored in the first
- 27:14Speaker 1: quarter this season, having been outscored thirty one and nothing
- 27:17Speaker 1: by their opponents. They have only one touchdown in the
- 27:21Speaker 1: first half this season. They have not scored more than
- 27:24Speaker 1: seven points in the first, second, or third quarters of
- 27:29Speaker 1: the game this season. It is not until they find
- 27:32Speaker 1: themselves in desperation mode in the fourth quarter that they
- 27:35Speaker 1: have been able to put up points, scoring at least
- 27:38Speaker 1: four teen in three of their four games. So, when
- 27:42Speaker 1: Mark talks about the need for the Cardinals to get
- 27:44Speaker 1: off to a fast start because the Eagles are so
- 27:47Speaker 1: dominant early in games. These numbers reflect that I reached
- 27:51Speaker 1: out to someone in the organization with the Cardinals that said, man,
- 27:54Speaker 1: I don't know if the Eagles are taking you guys seriously,
- 27:56Speaker 1: And this person joked with me, I think, and said,
- 27:59Speaker 1: why would they look at how we're playing at this point?
- 28:02Speaker 1: But the silver lining is the car Arinoalds are still
- 28:05Speaker 1: two and two and tied for first place in their
- 28:08Speaker 1: division to that point. Jim Jalen Hurts in his weekly
- 28:11Speaker 1: press conference this week didn't get a single question about
- 28:15Speaker 1: the Cardinals, and then he even pointed out, hey, I
- 28:17Speaker 1: know you guys didn't ask me about the Cardinals, but
- 28:20Speaker 1: they are a good team, sort of making that message
- 28:23Speaker 1: to the locker room that hey, we can't take this
- 28:24Speaker 1: team lately, even though nobody else outside of their building
- 28:28Speaker 1: might be doing so. Jim Trotter, Mark Cross thank you
- 28:31Speaker 1: both very much. As we continue to celebrate Latino heritage months,
- 28:35Speaker 1: we share the accomplishments of Bronco's linebacker Nick Bonito leading
- 28:40Speaker 1: up to his rookie year here or his accomplishments. He
- 28:43Speaker 1: was the sixty four overall pick of the NFL draft
- 28:48Speaker 1: and he is a proud Cuban descent. New York Giants,
- 28:56Speaker 1: Green Bay Packers. Let's go Giants, Packers and nothing tis
- 29:06Speaker 1: kick in the NFC. Kess Bank is one of the
- 29:09Speaker 1: best tests in the league. Killing Joan Pakistina get the falls,
- 29:13Speaker 1: well we go see let by legendary Aaron Rod just
- 29:15Speaker 1: that's the sun has been on the rise, loo Chi
- 29:19Speaker 1: last week, he moves like jet packs. What's on BOFE
- 29:21Speaker 1: New York Green Bag? Which team is gonna send a
- 29:24Speaker 1: message the first winding games where both teams got winning
- 29:26Speaker 1: records and if you'll network, don't Mississippi and if you're
- 29:29Speaker 1: passing on this game they do this or okay, we
- 29:35Speaker 1: can't wait for this on the New York Giants tweeting out,
- 29:38Speaker 1: say Kwon Barkley on the practice field, what a beautiful
- 29:41Speaker 1: day from football in it, I feel like I'm Rachel
- 29:44Speaker 1: Bonetta doing her British accent. New York Giants and Green
- 29:48Speaker 1: Bay Packers matchup we are highly anticipating here on NFL Network.
- 29:54Speaker 1: It is here on our network. Kickoff at nine thirty
- 29:58Speaker 1: a m. Eastern on Sunday, or kickoff coverage begins at
- 30:02Speaker 1: seven a m. Eastern with the two and a half
- 30:05Speaker 1: our pregame show. They'll be getting set for all the
- 30:07Speaker 1: Week five action, but specifically Giants and Packers, first time
- 30:12Speaker 1: two teams with winning records will face off in London.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Can't wait for that time. Now for one more thing
- 30:18Speaker 1: with James Palmer, Jim Trotter and Mark Ross. Mark will
- 30:22Speaker 1: start with you, what's your one more thing. I know
- 30:24Speaker 1: we've talked about how rough that game was, particularly Russell
- 30:27Speaker 1: Wilson two interceptions, bad throw at the end, but this
- 30:30Speaker 1: might have been the worst part of the night for
- 30:31Speaker 1: Russell right here and check this clip out. Thank you guys,
- 30:36Speaker 1: Thank you guys from this country. That's right, Russ. Just
- 30:44Speaker 1: let it go. Man, that's not You're not riding my
- 30:46Speaker 1: little pony at that point. Man letting go. Hey, he
- 30:49Speaker 1: is consistent. If nothing else, James was here. One more thing, Well,
- 30:54Speaker 1: I was at that game that Mark didn't tell me
- 30:56Speaker 1: he watched every single second of I was in the
- 30:58Speaker 1: press box getting coffee repeatedly trying to get through it.
- 31:01Speaker 1: But I do want to give some attention to the
- 31:03Speaker 1: man that called that game. I had a a laugh
- 31:05Speaker 1: at kirk Curve Street afterwards about al Michaels and being
- 31:08Speaker 1: on this call, and I thought he was lights out
- 31:10Speaker 1: saying things like this is the type of game that
- 31:12Speaker 1: should be your fifth regional game on CBS are saying
- 31:15Speaker 1: it's first in goals, something I thought I never would
- 31:18Speaker 1: say tonight, or sometimes the game is so bad, it's
- 31:21Speaker 1: actually good. I thought al Michael's actually was fantastic. Getting
- 31:25Speaker 1: through that game. I was thinking al Michaels hasn't missed
- 31:28Speaker 1: a beat, certainly has brought entertainment to those Thursday night
- 31:32Speaker 1: Amazon broadcasts. He is a legend for a reason. Jim Trotter,
- 31:36Speaker 1: what's your one more thing? Well, Omar, we know there
- 31:40Speaker 1: are always a lot of eyes on the international game,
- 31:42Speaker 1: and one group that will be watching this Packers performance
- 31:45Speaker 1: mostly will be the Bears and their fans. Why not
- 31:48Speaker 1: only because it could have an impact on the divisional standings,
- 31:51Speaker 1: but it could have an impact on the historical standings.
- 31:54Speaker 1: The Packers embarrasser tied at seven hundred and eighty five
- 31:58Speaker 1: wins for the most victories in league history. If the
- 32:01Speaker 1: Packers win Sunday morning, obviously they moved one ahead, the
- 32:04Speaker 1: Bears will have a chance to tie. But at Packers
- 32:06Speaker 1: win a Bears loss, the Packers take over first place
- 32:09Speaker 1: his historically in terms of all time wins, and it
- 32:13Speaker 1: gives Aaron Rodgers another reason to say to Bears fans
- 32:18Speaker 1: again that game right here on NFL Network at nine
- 32:21Speaker 1: thirty A. And lastly, here we want to wish a
- 32:25Speaker 1: happy birthday to our coordinating producer Jeff Colette makes it
- 32:29Speaker 1: happen behind the scenes. There you see him in his
- 32:32Speaker 1: older days. Hey, James Palmer, I know you will agree.
- 32:35Speaker 1: As a hair officionado, he has the best hair on
- 32:38Speaker 1: NFL Network. It's a shame he doesn't get to show
- 32:41Speaker 1: it off more often. There he is. Happy birthday, Jeff
- 32:44Speaker 1: is actually on Sunday. Have a great weekend and enjoy
