- 0:33Speaker 1: good morning.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Good morning.
- 0:34Speaker 5: Remember that hot second you were totally into the national
- 0:37Speaker 5: holiday days?
- 0:38Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you mean? Of course, I still am.
- 0:40Speaker 1: You are?
- 0:40Speaker 3: Because today's National Coffee Day.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Oh, it is? See, I was celebrating.
- 0:44Speaker 3: Yeah. Did you know there's a bunch of coffee deals today?
- 0:46Speaker 5: Like free coffee like Dunkin', Pete's, Tim Horton's, Krispy Kreme.
- 0:50Speaker 1: What? Are you starting my day with a list? Yeah.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Well, I just gave it to you already.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Oh, okay. All right. Well, give me the best coffee, then.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Your favorite coffee, go.
- 1:00Speaker 3: Favorite coffee, Merritt Coffee.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Really? What about Dutch Bros?
- 1:02Speaker 3: You like Dutch Bros?
- 1:04Speaker 5: Yeah, I just wish coffee shops were open earlier.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Like, 4.30 is not early enough.
- 1:08Speaker 1: I know. We can't get any really, I mean, like,
- 1:11Speaker 1: fancy coffee.
- 1:12Speaker 6: Right, yeah.
- 1:13Speaker 5: If someone could open a coffee shop opening at 4 a.m.,
- 1:16Speaker 5: that would be great for me because I could cruise
- 1:17Speaker 5: on through there on my way here and not have
- 1:19Speaker 5: to use, you know, the machine.
- 1:21Speaker 1: But I'm going to tell you right now, Racetrack has
- 1:23Speaker 1: some of the best coffee if you're going for, like,
- 1:25Speaker 1: you know, whatever. Because, I mean, I've been to QT.
- 1:28Speaker 3: It's not bad.
- 1:29Speaker 1: No, it's not bad. So check that out. Either way,
- 1:31Speaker 1: you know, you got to have your coffee first thing
- 1:32Speaker 1: in the morning.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. I do love local shops, though, like Merritt.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. No, me too. Are you a ice girly
- 1:38Speaker 1: or a hot girly?
- 1:39Speaker 3: I'm a hot girly. Yeah.
- 1:41Speaker 1: There you go.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Hot girl.
- 1:41Speaker 6: It's like soothing.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Hot girl coffee walk.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I feel like, but I feel like ice coffee is
- 1:47Speaker 1: having its day.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Well, it's kind of, you know, phase out when winter comes.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 1:52Speaker 5: Because I feel like, you know, iced coffee is just like.
- 1:55Speaker 3: A summer vibe.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Did you get some sleep last night, by the way?
- 1:57Speaker 3: A little bit. A little bit, yeah.
- 1:59Speaker 1: Well, on a level of 1 to 10, 10 being
- 2:01Speaker 1: the worst, should we be on alert? 10 being the worst.
- 2:04Speaker 1: 10 being the worst.
- 2:06Speaker 3: You should be on about a 7. Okay.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Wow. It's still kind of high.
- 2:09Speaker 3: I mean, it's only 6.02. We'll see.
- 2:12Speaker 6: All right.
- 2:12Speaker 3: You know, I got to pound this coffee quicker. That's
- 2:15Speaker 3: the only thing.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I'm a little bit nervous now.
- 2:17Speaker 3: No, don't be nervous.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Okay. All right.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 3: I'm waking up along with everyone else.
- 2:21Speaker 1: I'm excited because it's going to be hot today and cloudy.
- 2:24Speaker 1: And then tomorrow the rain comes in. Although I'm a
- 2:26Speaker 1: little bit nervous because now they're saying it's a lot
- 2:27Speaker 1: of rain.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I know.
- 2:29Speaker 5: I have an update for you in Texas Top Stories
- 2:31Speaker 5: over that.
- 2:31Speaker 3: But, yeah, it could be more than we planned.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Yeah, see, we can't have, why can't we just have
- 2:36Speaker 1: somewhere in between?
- 2:37Speaker 3: I know, just a nice steady rain.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Yeah, Texas has got to be so extreme.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:41Speaker 1: But we'll get to that coming up. Producer Pooh, what's up, man? Man,
- 2:44Speaker 1: last night I had the craziest dream. And I usually
- 2:47Speaker 1: dream about food and stuff like that.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:49Speaker 7: But last night I had the dream we were all
- 2:51Speaker 7: at some Mexican restaurant.
- 2:53Speaker 8: Perfect.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Chilling. Chilling. eating, having margs or whatever.
- 2:56Speaker 7: And then we're on the patio, and then a bus,
- 3:00Speaker 7: a dart bus, crashes in on the side of the restaurant. Yeah,
- 3:04Speaker 7: but check this out. Nobody got hurt or whatever, but
- 3:08Speaker 7: guess who was driving the bus?
- 3:09Speaker 1: Who? Oprah Winfrey. What?
- 3:12Speaker 2: What?
- 3:13Speaker 1: I hate dreams. Dude, I was like, what does this mean?
- 3:16Speaker 1: What in the world?
- 3:17Speaker 7: Yeah, Oprah Winfrey was driving the dart bus, and I
- 3:21Speaker 7: woke up, I was like, what?
- 3:22Speaker 1: What am I doing?
- 3:23Speaker 3: Just ruining our Mexican food?
- 3:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I was like... Did I spill my marg?
- 3:28Speaker 7: No, you didn't spill it, but I was doom scrolling
- 3:31Speaker 7: before I went to sleep. Have you ever seen those
- 3:34Speaker 7: Instagram where it's like close calls and like Sia is
- 3:37Speaker 7: the theme song, the Unstoppable?
- 3:39Speaker 1: Yeah, of course I have. That's what I was watching
- 3:42Speaker 1: before I went to sleep, so I'm assuming... You can't
- 3:44Speaker 1: watch that stuff right before sleep. You can't do it.
- 3:48Speaker 1: This is what I'm trying to get used to. I'm
- 3:49Speaker 1: trying to get into the habit of not looking at
- 3:52Speaker 1: anything negative before i go to sleep yeah and it's
- 3:55Speaker 1: so hard it's so hard yeah good news.
- 3:59Speaker 5: Yeah what am i gonna wear well i mean one
- 4:01Speaker 5: of those good news accounts where they just show you
- 4:03Speaker 5: like kids reuniting with their parents.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Who've been overseas oh no things like that i.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Don't need to be crying that's one of the few
- 4:10Speaker 1: things that'll get me to cry is watching a soldier
- 4:12Speaker 1: come back and surprise his kids.
- 4:13Speaker 3: But you have like the warm fuzzies i.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Don't want that that's too warm Okay.
- 4:18Speaker 5: Well, watch Wild Horses in Fields.
- 4:21Speaker 9: No.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Galloping.
- 4:22Speaker 1: No.
- 4:23Speaker 6: No.
- 4:23Speaker 3: They're so beautiful.
- 4:24Speaker 1: He's got to watch some investigative stuff.
- 4:26Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 4:26Speaker 6: CSI.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Forensics. I can't listen to music. Some people go to
- 4:29Speaker 1: sleep by listening to music. Right.
- 4:31Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I can't do that because I analyze every song. And
- 4:33Speaker 1: I'm like, was this a hit? When did we play this?
- 4:35Speaker 1: Did I play it? How long? Where did I play it?
- 4:38Speaker 1: Which club?
- 4:38Speaker 6: Right.
- 4:39Speaker 1: So I can't do that. What year was it? What
- 4:43Speaker 1: year was it? How big was it? Blah, blah, blah. Or,
- 4:46Speaker 1: you know, sometimes I'll just watch. Like last night, I
- 4:49Speaker 1: started watching. I listened to a podcast.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 4:52Speaker 1: And then I started analyzing the podcast.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Jeez.
- 4:56Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, okay. Well, you know what?
- 4:59Speaker 3: Maybe just noise. White noise.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Like the fan sound. That's what I do.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Oh, that's what's going on. So my fan, my ceiling
- 5:07Speaker 1: fan is making a weird sound.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Uh-oh.
- 5:09Speaker 1: It's making a beep. A beep? Yeah, very faint. It's
- 5:12Speaker 1: going beep. Does it have a remote? No, I think
- 5:16Speaker 1: it's squeaking. Yeah. But it sounds like a beep. Okay.
- 5:20Speaker 1: So in the middle of the night, I was going
- 5:21Speaker 1: to go get WD-40 and get up there because it
- 5:24Speaker 1: was driving me crazy.
- 5:26Speaker 5: Based on your recent history of things that have happened
- 5:29Speaker 5: at your house, I wouldn't get on a ladder or.
- 5:30Speaker 3: Do any house repairs.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Wow.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I mean, you got hit with a toaster in the forehead.
- 5:35Speaker 1: He's cooking. You're not wrong.
- 5:38Speaker 7: You are not wrong.
- 5:42Speaker 6: 102.9.
- 5:42Speaker 5: The new Mix 102.9.
- 5:45Speaker 4: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 5:48Speaker 4: Kid in the Morning.
- 5:49Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 5:51Speaker 1: All right, a chance to go to Disneyland. Coming up next,
- 5:53Speaker 1: we're doing it all day on the 10. So make
- 5:55Speaker 1: sure you listen and have that iHeartRadio app ready to
- 5:58Speaker 1: go for your shot to win. Candace Lopez, what is
- 6:00Speaker 1: going on?
- 6:01Speaker 5: Well, first responders and emergency crews are preparing for widespread
- 6:04Speaker 5: rain across Texas starting tomorrow. Heavy rain could lead to
- 6:08Speaker 5: flash flooding in parts of central Texas.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Here in the Metroplex, we could see anywhere from 2
- 6:13Speaker 3: to 4 inches of rain.
- 6:13Speaker 6: Ugh.
- 6:16Speaker 5: So I guess there's a cold front coming, and then
- 6:18Speaker 5: that's happening at the same time some of these bands
- 6:20Speaker 5: of rain from Hurricane.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Polo are making their way here.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Exactly, Candace.
- 6:24Speaker 5: Yeah, so it's going to be, I mean, more rain
- 6:26Speaker 5: than we've seen in a long time.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Well, see, what we're really worried about is that system
- 6:30Speaker 1: stalling on top of us. No, you're right.
- 6:34Speaker 3: The heavy pressure system.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Well, actually, it's a low pressure.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Oh, a low pressure. That's what I meant, yeah.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's rookie mistake. High pressure, low pressure.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Rookie mistake.
- 6:42Speaker 1: So that is going to come in. It's going to
- 6:43Speaker 1: sit on top of us.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Yep.
- 6:45Speaker 1: A lot of rainfall. The problem with the Texas ground
- 6:48Speaker 1: right now, it's very dry. It's going to take time
- 6:50Speaker 1: to saturate.
- 6:51Speaker 3: It is, yeah.
- 6:52Speaker 5: So maybe an inch of that will soak in, and
- 6:54Speaker 5: then the rest is just going to be runoff.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Is that correct? You know what? You got it.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Can you fact check me on that?
- 6:59Speaker 1: Bingo, buddy. Bingo. So we could get some flooding. In
- 7:02Speaker 1: all seriousness, be careful, because I don't want it to
- 7:05Speaker 1: stall on us that long.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Right. Just a little rain and then let's get out
- 7:08Speaker 3: of here for the weekend.
- 7:09Speaker 1: And then keep it moving.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Guys, we have more details on that GoFundMe story we
- 7:14Speaker 5: updated you on yesterday. So this info started coming out
- 7:17Speaker 5: toward the end of the show yesterday. Remember that story
- 7:19Speaker 5: out of the colony last week? The 81-year-old man who
- 7:22Speaker 5: was seen struggling to take that luggage up the stairs. He,
- 7:25Speaker 5: of course, was working to help pay for his wife's
- 7:27Speaker 5: medical bills. Returning lost luggage to people will... That story
- 7:32Speaker 5: originally said that a neighbor caught him on video doing
- 7:35Speaker 5: this and started the GoFundMe for him.
- 7:37Speaker 3: It raised over.
- 7:38Speaker 6: $ 700, 000.
- 7:39Speaker 5: It's now been taken down after GoFundMe said they got
- 7:41Speaker 5: a tip questioning the identity of the woman who started it.
- 7:46Speaker 5: She had identified herself first as Erin Howell. Well, GoFundMe
- 7:50Speaker 5: opened an investigation and called Howell on the recorded line.
- 7:54Speaker 5: Turned out to be this man's daughter, which we found
- 7:57Speaker 5: out yesterday. But now we're hearing that she admitted her
- 8:00Speaker 5: real identity, told them she thought the story would be
- 8:03Speaker 5: more compelling if it was told from a stranger's view
- 8:05Speaker 5: and admitted that she filmed that video herself.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Oh, see.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Yeah, which is really disheartening.
- 8:11Speaker 1: It doesn't change the fact that the wife does have cancer.
- 8:14Speaker 6: Right.
- 8:14Speaker 1: Doesn't change the fact that he's 81 trying to work
- 8:17Speaker 1: and survive.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:18Speaker 5: All the parts of the story were true except for
- 8:20Speaker 5: where the video came and who started the GoFundMe.
- 8:23Speaker 1: But you have to be transparent about it. And that's
- 8:25Speaker 1: the problem because GoFundMe has rules because they got to
- 8:28Speaker 1: protect people from scams. Yeah.
- 8:29Speaker 5: They, you know, part of their terms of service say
- 8:31Speaker 5: lying about your identity, you know, violates that.
- 8:34Speaker 3: And so they take it down and refund the money.
- 8:37Speaker 3: So that's the update. She did film that video herself.
- 8:39Speaker 6: Wow. Yeah.
- 8:41Speaker 1: So the money's gone.
- 8:42Speaker 3: The money's gone.
- 8:43Speaker 5: I did hear that they started on another platform and
- 8:46Speaker 5: that it was starting to gain some traction. But yeah,
- 8:49Speaker 5: it turns a lot of people off when you hear
- 8:50Speaker 5: something like that.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I want the guy to get taken care of. And
- 8:54Speaker 1: I hope nothing but the best for him. But you
- 8:56Speaker 1: just can't. You can't do that. People get scammed all
- 8:59Speaker 1: the time, and everybody's got their guard up. If anything
- 9:01Speaker 1: even looks like it's not real and authentic, you got
- 9:05Speaker 1: to go.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure. Real quick, guys.
- 9:07Speaker 5: Dennis Haskins, best known for playing Principal Dr. Belding on
- 9:11Speaker 5: Saved by the Bell, has passed.
- 9:12Speaker 3: At the age of 75.
- 9:13Speaker 6: Man.
- 9:15Speaker 1: I know.
- 9:16Speaker 5: His on-screen debut was actually in the Dukes of Hazzard.
- 9:20Speaker 5: But he last appeared as Principal Belding in the 2015
- 9:24Speaker 5: sketch that they did. They reunited him and the cast
- 9:26Speaker 5: on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
- 9:29Speaker 3: But, yeah, so many memories. Thinking of Saved by the Bell.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Hit it. Oh, man. Oh, it started over.
- 9:44Speaker 6: Oh, that sucks.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I have so many good memories.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Though, but wanted to share that with you this morning.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Well, rest in peace. Yeah. That's a bummer. I used
- 9:54Speaker 1: to love that guy.
- 9:55Speaker 3: I know, right? The only principal everyone loved.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Back in the day as kids. Yeah, I hated my
- 9:59Speaker 1: real principal. Oh, I was always like, why can't he
- 10:02Speaker 1: be more like Mr. Belding?
- 10:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, 100%.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Mr. Markowitz was mine, and he sucked.
- 10:07Speaker 3: I couldn't tell you my principal's name. I feel bad
- 10:09Speaker 3: about that, but... Mr.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Markowitz. Then I had in high school, Mr. Fenchel.
- 10:14Speaker 3: Wow, you remember all of them?
- 10:15Speaker 1: Yeah, because I was always in the office.
- 10:16Speaker 3: That explains it.
- 10:19Speaker 1: You don't remember your principal? No. Who do you? Yeah,
- 10:22Speaker 1: one of mine is still alive, Ms. Judd. No, now
- 10:24Speaker 1: that's not true. No, she is. She's in Duncanville right now. Oh, yeah.
- 10:28Speaker 1: They just named a library after her. Pooh, you always
- 10:31Speaker 1: say this. There's no way she's still alive. People will
- 10:33Speaker 1: tell you, Ms.
- 10:34Speaker 6: Judd.
- 10:34Speaker 1: If you're 70, she's got to be at least.
- 10:37Speaker 3: All right.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Did she help build Noah's Ark, too? I'm Candace Lopez.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Get ready for that. It's Mix 102.9. Ability Kid, Candace Lopez,
- 10:48Speaker 1: Poo is here. And, oh, yeah, also, Trips to Disneyland.
- 10:51Speaker 1: If you want to go, we got one. All right,
- 10:53Speaker 1: so make sure you get hooked up. Listen on the 10s.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Every hour. That would be a trip to Disneyland around
- 10:58Speaker 1: the holidays, too.
- 10:59Speaker 3: That's the best time to go.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Oh, the snow. Because it's going to snow no matter what.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, every night. It'll be so cool.
- 11:05Speaker 1: The place is magical. Yeah, so make sure you have
- 11:06Speaker 1: the iHeartRadio app ready. We want you to win. Another
- 11:09Speaker 1: shot at 710. All right, let's get you in. Hilary
- 11:11Speaker 1: Duff tickets. Who's this?
- 11:12Speaker 9: Hi, my name is Mirka.
- 11:15Speaker 6: Oh, really?
- 11:15Speaker 1: Well, guess what? You're calling number one. Congratulations. Happy birthday.
- 11:19Speaker 10: Finally, I'm so excited.
- 11:22Speaker 1: There you go. Where are you from?
- 11:24Speaker 9: I'm from Crowley.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Crowley?
- 11:26Speaker 6: Yes.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Awesome. Well, thank you for listening. What are you doing
- 11:29Speaker 1: right now?
- 11:29Speaker 9: I'm driving to work on I-35 West.
- 11:31Speaker 11: I-35 West?
- 11:31Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Oh.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Well, good luck with that.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Thank you. You're the best. You hold on. Something's wrong
- 11:41Speaker 1: with the phone, I think.
- 11:41Speaker 2: I know.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Oh, I think it means 35W. Yes. Oh, gotcha.
- 11:44Speaker 6: Okay.
- 11:45Speaker 3: Right.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Not 35 going west.
- 11:46Speaker 3: But still, good luck.
- 11:47Speaker 1: 35 west, I've never been there.
- 11:48Speaker 6: No.
- 11:49Speaker 2: No.
- 11:49Speaker 3: I don't want to get on that road.
- 11:51Speaker 1: When I first moved here like 25 whatever years ago,
- 11:54Speaker 1: I was so confused by 35E and 35W. Right. I
- 11:59Speaker 1: was like, so am I going west?
- 12:01Speaker 3: It's kind of silly, yeah.
- 12:02Speaker 1: It is kind of crazy, but I was like, that
- 12:04Speaker 1: and the Dallas North Tollway.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Right.
- 12:08Speaker 2: That.
- 12:08Speaker 1: I thought I was going north on, even though, because
- 12:10Speaker 1: it says Dallas North Tollway.
- 12:12Speaker 6: Right.
- 12:13Speaker 1: So I'm like, I'm going north, but I was going south.
- 12:16Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 12:16Speaker 3: You're going south on the Dallas North Tollway.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Now I get it. But it only took me 30 years.
- 12:22Speaker 6: Right.
- 12:22Speaker 1: So either way.
- 12:23Speaker 6: All right.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Let's do it. Real or fake news. I'm going to
- 12:25Speaker 1: give you three headlines. You got to tell me which
- 12:26Speaker 1: one is the fake story. And it's not easy because
- 12:29Speaker 1: our world happens to be a little bit crazy that
- 12:31Speaker 1: we live in, Candace.
- 12:32Speaker 6: I noticed.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Are you ready?
- 12:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Who won yesterday?
- 12:35Speaker 6: Candace.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I did. Oh, okay. All right. Who did? Headline number one.
- 12:39Speaker 1: A vandal asked ChatGBT for help with damage control while
- 12:43Speaker 1: eating mozzarella sticks.
- 12:44Speaker 6: What?
- 12:46Speaker 1: Wild headline.
- 12:47Speaker 3: Okay.
- 12:48Speaker 1: A vandal asked ChatGBT for help with damage control while
- 12:53Speaker 1: eating mozzarella sticks.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Okay.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Headline number two. Texas driver crashes into Kroger because he
- 13:00Speaker 1: had to use the bathroom.
- 13:01Speaker 6: Okay.
- 13:04Speaker 3: All right.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Texas driver crashes into Kroger because he had to use
- 13:07Speaker 1: the bathroom. That is headline number two. Headline number three.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Couple discovers their rescue dog is still legally owned by
- 13:13Speaker 1: a family three states away.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Couple discovers their rescue dog is still legally owned by
- 13:20Speaker 1: a family three states away.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 13:23Speaker 1: You got three headlines right there. You got to tell
- 13:24Speaker 1: me which one do you think. Is the fake story,
- 13:27Speaker 1: Candace Lopez, you want to go first?
- 13:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I want to go first.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Lock me in for that first story, the vandal, the
- 13:31Speaker 5: chat GPT, the mozzarella stick.
- 13:33Speaker 1: I mean, that's a wild, wild time. What are you doing?
- 13:37Speaker 3: You absolutely made that up.
- 13:38Speaker 1: You're chat GPT and you got mozzarella sticks. Life is good.
- 13:42Speaker 1: All right, let's lock that in. Candace, you are locked in.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Producer Poo, which one do you think is the fake story?
- 13:48Speaker 7: Lock me in for that second story. Crashing into Kroger,
- 13:51Speaker 7: having to go to the bathroom.
- 13:52Speaker 6: Really?
- 13:54Speaker 1: I think you made that up. You think I made
- 13:56Speaker 1: that up? Yeah. All right, let's lock that in. Locked in.
- 13:59Speaker 1: And the winner today is.
- 14:00Speaker 11: Me!
- 14:02Speaker 6: Me!
- 14:08Speaker 1: Fake story was the last one. I thought for sure
- 14:11Speaker 1: y'all were going to see the Texas driver who crashed
- 14:14Speaker 1: into the Kroger. That was all over the place.
- 14:16Speaker 3: Was it?
- 14:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it was on, like, Dallas, Texas TV.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 14:20Speaker 1: They might see this. And then it made national news.
- 14:22Speaker 3: How did that help, though?
- 14:23Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 14:24Speaker 3: Well, I mean, he crashed in.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Candace, we'll get to the story.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Okay. So interesting. I go to Kroger a lot. I
- 14:30Speaker 3: need to know.
- 14:31Speaker 1: So do I. We have a whole process here. I'm
- 14:33Speaker 1: going to give you the fake story first.
- 14:34Speaker 3: Right, that's right.
- 14:35Speaker 1: I'm excited.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 14:36Speaker 3: I love this.
- 14:37Speaker 1: That was a couple of discoveries that a rescue dog
- 14:39Speaker 1: is still legally owned by a family three states away.
- 14:41Speaker 1: That was the made-up story. All right, now I'll get
- 14:43Speaker 1: to this one since you want the Kroger.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 1: It's like choose your own adventure.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Do it first.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Okay, you want to do it first?
- 14:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:49Speaker 1: All right, yeah, this driver crashed into a Kroger building
- 14:51Speaker 1: because he had to use the bathroom. This happened, I guess,
- 14:54Speaker 1: when he walked out of the— this is insane. So the
- 14:58Speaker 1: guy pulls into Kroger or whatever, and he's like, all right,
- 15:00Speaker 1: I got to go to the bathroom. He goes to
- 15:01Speaker 1: run there. The doors are locked. So he's like, what
- 15:04Speaker 1: the heck? So this was 430 Sunday morning in Rosenberg,
- 15:08Speaker 1: which I don't even know where Rosenberg is. Police say
- 15:10Speaker 1: the man deliberately then got back into his car, accelerated
- 15:14Speaker 1: into the store, causing major damage to the pharmacy entrance
- 15:20Speaker 1: when his car busted through the entire doors. Investigators said
- 15:24Speaker 1: the driver needed to use the restroom and became upset
- 15:27Speaker 1: that he couldn't get inside. Police released photos showing extensive
- 15:30Speaker 1: damage to the vehicle smashed through the building. Authorities did
- 15:33Speaker 1: not identify the driver or say whether he will face charges.
- 15:36Speaker 1: And they haven't said whether anyone was injured. How is
- 15:38Speaker 1: he not going to face charges? Right? Dude smashed through
- 15:42Speaker 1: a Kroger. That's insane. I mean, it had to be
- 15:45Speaker 1: number two. Oh. Yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 5: But couldn't you just go to 7-Eleven?
- 15:49Speaker 1: There's so many. Well, I don't know where Rosenberg is,
- 15:51Speaker 1: but I'm like.
- 15:52Speaker 3: It's down southwest of Houston.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Oh, no wonder. Houston.
- 15:57Speaker 3: Of course. Number two.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:59Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Just go anywhere in Houston. They won't even notice. Sorry,
- 16:06Speaker 1: but we're playing the Texans this week.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right.
- 16:08Speaker 1: So I'm a little bit bitter.
- 16:09Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 16:10Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, we can make fun of Houston.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 1: They hate us.
- 16:13Speaker 3: They make fun of us.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Yeah, they hate us. They had a whole stadium chanting,
- 16:16Speaker 1: Dallas sucks.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Oh.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Thanks, guys.
- 16:18Speaker 1: Well, Houston sucks. All right. A vandal asked ChatGBT for
- 16:23Speaker 1: help with damage control while eating mozzarella sticks. So I
- 16:27Speaker 1: guess this 19-year-old college student named Ryan Schaefer, he damaged
- 16:31Speaker 1: 17 vehicles. He went on some kind of crime spree.
- 16:33Speaker 1: He was all mad. Then he asked ChatGBT, basically, how
- 16:39Speaker 1: do I do damage control in this situation?
- 16:41Speaker 5: Wow.
- 16:42Speaker 1: The conversation that ChatGBT had and the police ended up
- 16:45Speaker 1: finding was crazy. So ChatGBT told Ryan that it was
- 16:49Speaker 1: a serious crime, but then added after in the conversation logs,
- 16:53Speaker 1: since you've already done it, What matters now is damage control.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Then ChatGPT warned not to boast or brag about his
- 17:01Speaker 1: crime or not to post anything about it. ChatGPT said
- 17:04Speaker 1: stay low key and then told him not to talk
- 17:07Speaker 1: to the authorities without a lawyer.
- 17:09Speaker 3: Wow.
- 17:10Speaker 1: ChatGPT has got a whole process of how to get
- 17:13Speaker 1: away with a crime.
- 17:14Speaker 3: Jeez.
- 17:15Speaker 1: So then, ironically, it didn't recognize that this ChatGPT conversation
- 17:19Speaker 1: itself could be problematic. So it just kept going and going.
- 17:24Speaker 1: And then after the initial damage control talk, Ryan started
- 17:27Speaker 1: chatting again about an hour later in the chat, GPT.
- 17:30Speaker 1: He said, okay, thanks, chat GPT. I'm back at my
- 17:33Speaker 1: apartment eating mozzarella sticks. He's just trying to get away
- 17:40Speaker 1: with a crime with Chad GPD's help, not knowing that
- 17:43Speaker 1: if the police find him, they're going to look for
- 17:45Speaker 1: his phone.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Right.
- 17:46Speaker 1: And they're going to pull up everything he did, and
- 17:48Speaker 1: they're going to see that he asked for this, and
- 17:50Speaker 1: it pretty much just proves that he's guilty.
- 17:52Speaker 3: Right.
- 17:53Speaker 1: So either way, Chad GPD responded after he said, I'm
- 17:56Speaker 1: back in my apartment eating mozzarella sticks. It said, right now,
- 18:00Speaker 1: being back in your apartment and chilling is the safest
- 18:03Speaker 1: place you can be.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Thanks, bro.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Enjoy your mozzarella sticks and just keep things calm. The
- 18:09Speaker 1: less noise you make, the better your odds are of
- 18:12Speaker 1: staying out of trouble.
- 18:13Speaker 3: The less noise you make?
- 18:15Speaker 1: Is that not the most chat GBT answer you've ever
- 18:18Speaker 1: seen in your life?
- 18:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:19Speaker 1: So either way, they caught him. They went through his phone.
- 18:22Speaker 1: And now he's in big time trouble because he pretty
- 18:25Speaker 1: much confessed his entire crime to Chad GBT. You dumb idiot.
- 18:31Speaker 1: There you go. All right. Dirty little secret coming up
- 18:33Speaker 1: at 730. Another shot to go to Disneyland at 710.
- 18:36Speaker 1: You know what? I got to thank Candace Lopez for
- 18:38Speaker 1: something because you suggested this. And I don't even remember
- 18:40Speaker 1: if you know, if you remember suggesting this.
- 18:43Speaker 2: Okay.
- 18:43Speaker 1: It's Mix 102.9. A Bailey to Kid. Candace is here.
- 18:46Speaker 1: Pooh is here. Sounds that trigger you. You were like,
- 18:49Speaker 1: you got to stop waking up like that. And I
- 18:51Speaker 1: was like, what do you mean? You were like, you
- 18:53Speaker 1: have the worst alarm ever because I told you I
- 18:56Speaker 1: have this alarm. I don't even want to play it now.
- 18:58Speaker 3: I know which one it is. I remember this conversation.
- 19:00Speaker 1: Okay, good. Oh, I'm sorry.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Why would you do that to yourself?
- 19:05Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I had to do it. I changed my
- 19:08Speaker 1: alarm and I realized I wake up so much better now.
- 19:11Speaker 11: Good.
- 19:12Speaker 1: So much in a better mood.
- 19:13Speaker 3: Yeah, you need something gentle.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Okay, so I'm going to ask you, what sound triggers you?
- 19:18Speaker 1: And if you got one, because now I hear that,
- 19:21Speaker 1: I can't even play that again because it actually triggers me.
- 19:23Speaker 3: Yeah, you need to do seedling.
- 19:24Speaker 1: What is that?
- 19:25Speaker 3: That's like radar, that sound.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Oh.
- 19:27Speaker 5: Seedling is like a kind of slow and it comes up.
- 19:30Speaker 3: It starts low and then gets high.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Well, you know what? Now what I do is I
- 19:33Speaker 1: have my whoop, you know that thing?
- 19:35Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 19:35Speaker 1: My bracelet or whatever that keeps track of everything. Yeah.
- 19:38Speaker 1: It wakes me up with a silent, like a very
- 19:40Speaker 1: silent vibration.
- 19:41Speaker 3: Oh, that haptic alarm or whatever.
- 19:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I feel my wrist kind of vibrating and I think
- 19:45Speaker 1: it's like someone, like I imagine it being, you know,
- 19:48Speaker 1: a hot... wife.
- 19:50Speaker 3: Just like tapping your wrist?
- 19:51Speaker 1: Shaking my hand. And it's just my whoop.
- 19:54Speaker 3: Okay.
- 19:55Speaker 1: But it wakes me up in a good mood. That's good.
- 19:57Speaker 1: So I'm going to ask you, what sound instantly triggers
- 20:00Speaker 1: you when you hear it? You're just like, oh, like
- 20:02Speaker 1: that is mine now. I can't even play it again.
- 20:04Speaker 3: No, please don't.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Because it's so bad. If you got one, at Billy
- 20:07Speaker 1: on the radio, on Instagram, at Billy on the radio. Candice,
- 20:09Speaker 1: do you have one?
- 20:10Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a squeaky wheel on a grocery cart. Every
- 20:13Speaker 3: time I go to Target, it doesn't matter. I have
- 20:16Speaker 3: one wheel.
- 20:16Speaker 5: That shakes and it's just awful.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Really?
- 20:19Speaker 3: I'm that loud person in the store that you can
- 20:21Speaker 3: hear coming.
- 20:21Speaker 1: At Target?
- 20:22Speaker 3: Yeah, at Target, Kroger. It doesn't matter. I always get
- 20:24Speaker 3: the shaky wheel part.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Well, I usually do, too. But I hate when they
- 20:29Speaker 1: make noise.
- 20:30Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:30Speaker 6: Hate, hate.
- 20:31Speaker 1: But Target, I was there yesterday. They usually have good carts.
- 20:33Speaker 3: They do?
- 20:34Speaker 1: I'm a cart connoisseur.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Never had a good cart at Target.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Oh, try going to Walmart. You'll go through five carts
- 20:40Speaker 1: before you get one that works. They're all wonky. Oh, yeah.
- 20:43Speaker 1: Wheels are locked up.
- 20:45Speaker 3: For sure.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Aldi, you can't even get one. You've got to pay
- 20:47Speaker 1: for it. I know. I'm not even paying a quarter
- 20:49Speaker 1: for a car. I'm not doing it. Sound that instantly
- 20:53Speaker 1: triggers you. Pooh, do you have one? Yeah, balloons. You know,
- 20:56Speaker 1: like when they do those balloon animals?
- 20:58Speaker 11: Oh, yeah.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Oh, the squeaky sound of a balloon. The squeaky, yeah.
- 21:02Speaker 1: It's always got me.
- 21:03Speaker 3: That's annoying.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Oh, I'm getting some. Yeah, no, I get that. I'm
- 21:06Speaker 1: getting some coming in. Add Billy on the radio. Add
- 21:09Speaker 1: Billy on the radio. Okay, here's one. Making slurping and
- 21:12Speaker 1: sucking sounds. While they eat fruit.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Okay, because it's juicy.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Why fruit?
- 21:18Speaker 3: Yeah, because the juice runs.
- 21:20Speaker 1: I don't want to hear you ever, ever eat. Like,
- 21:23Speaker 1: if I have to hear you eat, there's a problem, right? Yeah.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I mean, unless you're my dog.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Okay.
- 21:28Speaker 1: For whatever reason, I love when my dog crunches on stuff.
- 21:31Speaker 1: I do, too.
- 21:31Speaker 3: It only lasts for, like, 30 seconds.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:33Speaker 3: You're done eating. Right.
- 21:35Speaker 1: They crunch. Like, I love giving my dog a carrot.
- 21:37Speaker 1: I love the sound of it. Is that weird?
- 21:39Speaker 6: No.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Is this a dirty little secret? It might be, yeah. Okay.
- 21:42Speaker 1: I got to say hi, too. Oh, Bethany says, oh,
- 21:45Speaker 1: I cannot. Oh, I have this sound. Hold on. She says,
- 21:49Speaker 1: I hate this sound. It instantly triggers me. I can't
- 21:52Speaker 1: stand it. Oh.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Yeah. That's awful.
- 21:58Speaker 1: You know what? For whatever reason, Pooh doesn't care about it.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 22:01Speaker 1: That's a black thing. We just sleep right through that. No, no,
- 22:04Speaker 1: for real.
- 22:05Speaker 6: It is.
- 22:05Speaker 1: It's not. It is. It is. All my people, they
- 22:10Speaker 1: can relate. Because I'm telling you right now, if this
- 22:13Speaker 1: goes off in the middle of the night... I have
- 22:15Speaker 1: to get up. I have to get the ladder.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:17Speaker 1: I have to change it immediately. Life stops until that's changed.
- 22:22Speaker 5: When I was like eight, nine months pregnant, we had
- 22:24Speaker 5: one of those happen and Eric was out of town
- 22:26Speaker 5: and I had to go out, get the ladder and
- 22:30Speaker 5: get my big pregnant belly up the ladder to the ceiling.
- 22:33Speaker 6: Oh, no.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Yeah, because it wouldn't stop.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Pregnant and all.
- 22:36Speaker 5: Yeah, and my dog's been nervous about those ever since.
- 22:39Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I don't like it.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Because it went on for so long.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Oh, I'm telling you what. I've been in a hotel
- 22:42Speaker 1: where it's happened.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:44Speaker 1: And Pooh's just sitting there sleeping. I'm like, does that
- 22:49Speaker 1: not bother you? No.
- 22:50Speaker 2: A little awful.
- 22:51Speaker 6: All right.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Next one. I don't get it. Oh, this is another
- 22:56Speaker 1: one that will send me into a rage. This girl said,
- 23:00Speaker 1: when I'm vibing, I'm listening to music in my car,
- 23:02Speaker 1: and then suddenly the volume drops away, only to be
- 23:05Speaker 1: replaced by the text message ping.
- 23:07Speaker 3: Oh, yeah. When it busts through, like, CarPlay?
- 23:10Speaker 1: Yeah. This morning that happened.
- 23:12Speaker 6: Huh?
- 23:12Speaker 1: Tupac Hit Em Up was on. I was like, yeah.
- 23:14Speaker 1: I was waiting for him to call me fat in
- 23:17Speaker 1: front of that song. And then I was ready to go,
- 23:19Speaker 1: and all of a sudden it's like, and I was like, oh. Sucks.
- 23:25Speaker 1: Another one, I might, oh, okay. So Megan says, I
- 23:28Speaker 1: might get hate for this. But what sound triggers me
- 23:31Speaker 1: is a baby crying.
- 23:33Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Well, it depends on how it triggers. I mean, it
- 23:36Speaker 1: doesn't mean you hate babies.
- 23:37Speaker 3: No, it just takes you back.
- 23:39Speaker 1: She said, or a toddler screaming. I'm sorry, but I
- 23:41Speaker 1: just don't have kids and I hate. Oh, well, she
- 23:43Speaker 1: hates kids. Okay.
- 23:45Speaker 5: You're triggered by me typing over here all the time.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I am triggered by your typing.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I trim my nails so they're not as long, so
- 23:51Speaker 3: it's not as loud.
- 23:52Speaker 1: You are the loudest typer on the planet ever.
- 23:57Speaker 6: Maybe.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Type with authority. Do it, Candace. Show them what I
- 24:00Speaker 1: deal with. I hate that. If you get a sound
- 24:07Speaker 1: that triggers you, 833-787-1029. I cannot stand that sound. Oh,
- 24:14Speaker 1: here's one. Last one. This girl said influencers clicky clacketing
- 24:19Speaker 1: their nails on objects showing the camera. I know.
- 24:23Speaker 3: Here's my new foundation.
- 24:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:29Speaker 6: I cannot stand that. The new Mix 102.9.
- 24:32Speaker 4: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 24:36Speaker 4: Kid in the Morning.
- 24:36Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9. We've got another chance.
- 24:40Speaker 1: To go to Disneyland coming up next. All right, so
- 24:42Speaker 1: have that iHeartRadio app ready and put us on your
- 24:44Speaker 1: presets while you're there, too. So we're doing it on
- 24:46Speaker 1: the 10s all day. Shot to win. That would be
- 24:49Speaker 1: so nice around the holidays, going to Disneyland.
- 24:50Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Make it happen. Candace, what is going on?
- 24:53Speaker 5: Well, Morgan Stanley has officially picked Dallas for its $ 1. 3
- 24:57Speaker 5: billion regional hub. This will create more than 3,800 jobs
- 25:01Speaker 5: and help with the rise of Yall Street. Dallas' new
- 25:04Speaker 5: financial district hosting the Texas Stock Exchange.
- 25:08Speaker 3: So the company will build a new office in Uptown.
- 25:11Speaker 3: It'll be located on McKinney.
- 25:12Speaker 5: Avenue just north of Woodall Rogers, and that's huge for
- 25:16Speaker 5: Yall Street.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Oh, Yall Street's going to be packed.
- 25:18Speaker 3: We're taking on Wall Street down here.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Yeah, more finance bros.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly. Yeah, watch out for the vests, for sure.
- 25:24Speaker 5: 3,800 new finance bro vests.
- 25:27Speaker 1: So many Patagonia vests.
- 25:30Speaker 5: Dude, when you go to lunch in Dallas in like
- 25:32Speaker 5: the fall.
- 25:33Speaker 3: I mean, it's all vests.
- 25:34Speaker 1: It's all Lululemon vests, quarter zips. Yeah, quarter zips, SMU
- 25:40Speaker 1: quarter zips.
- 25:40Speaker 3: They make sense. They're functional for sure.
- 25:42Speaker 1: No, no, I like them. I just can't pull them off.
- 25:44Speaker 1: And I'm the opposite of a finance bro. That's not
- 25:47Speaker 1: your style. Yeah, no, I'm the exact opposite of a
- 25:49Speaker 1: finance bro.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Black t-shirt, black vest.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Black everything. I don't even have a vest. I need
- 25:54Speaker 1: a vest.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Well, get a vest. It's almost time to wear one.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it's going to be 70s. I need a finance
- 25:58Speaker 1: pro vest.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, Friday. Wear it. Okay. Do it.
- 26:01Speaker 5: Guys, the CEO of Walmart is speaking out about those
- 26:04Speaker 5: viral videos saying they use dynamic pricing with their digital
- 26:08Speaker 5: shelf price labels. So he says they do not set
- 26:11Speaker 5: different prices based on who you are or the time
- 26:14Speaker 5: of day you're shopping. He says your income shopping history
- 26:17Speaker 5: or urgency are not things that we.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Could charge surge prices for.
- 26:22Speaker 5: But Walmart did get a patent in 2023 for the
- 26:25Speaker 5: electronic shelf labels that can be adjusted remotely. So if
- 26:29Speaker 5: they did want to, you know, they could say you're
- 26:32Speaker 5: buying tuna fish. Here's a different price for mayo or
- 26:34Speaker 5: things that go with whatever you're shopping for.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Really?
- 26:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 5: It can allow for pricing to change based on supply
- 26:40Speaker 5: and demand. He's saying they're not using it for that.
- 26:42Speaker 5: But these videos online say otherwise.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Because the videos online are them changing like.
- 26:47Speaker 6: Right.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Someone's watching the label and it's changing. The price is
- 26:50Speaker 1: literally going up.
- 26:51Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 26:52Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 26:53Speaker 3: So pay attention when you're at Walmart. He says they're
- 26:55Speaker 3: not doing it.
- 26:56Speaker 5: Let me tell you why Anne Hathaway took a rain
- 26:59Speaker 5: check to appear on Hot Ones. So I guess she
- 27:02Speaker 5: has a new movie coming out. And in the film,
- 27:04Speaker 5: her character takes the Hot Ones challenge. But she says
- 27:07Speaker 5: she won't be on the show anytime soon because her
- 27:10Speaker 5: doctors have told her she is so far along in
- 27:12Speaker 5: her pregnancy. If she eats spicy chicken wings, she could
- 27:16Speaker 5: go into early labor.
- 27:17Speaker 3: So, no, she won't be on there.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Is that true?
- 27:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Spicy food?
- 27:22Speaker 3: Spicy food can.
- 27:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I remember when I was pregnant, everyone was saying,
- 27:26Speaker 5: go to this one restaurant.
- 27:27Speaker 3: They have this specific.
- 27:28Speaker 5: Salad that everyone orders when they're trying to induce labor.
- 27:32Speaker 3: It was like a whole thing.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Oh, and you were trying to make it happen?
- 27:36Speaker 5: I wasn't, but they said if you did want to,
- 27:38Speaker 5: go try this salad.
- 27:39Speaker 1: I didn't know that.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Yeah. She says she will.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Be on the show once it's time to promote, you know,
- 27:44Speaker 5: the new Days of Thunder movie she's got coming out
- 27:47Speaker 5: in a couple of years, but for this time, not
- 27:49Speaker 5: so much.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Okay. You know what we're going to do on the
- 27:51Speaker 1: show one day? What? Speaking of... She goes, what?
- 27:57Speaker 6: What?
- 27:57Speaker 1: You know Zalat pizza?
- 27:59Speaker 6: No.
- 27:59Speaker 1: You don't know? You've never had Zalat?
- 28:01Speaker 6: No.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Is that what it's called, right? Yeah, Zalat. Yeah, I
- 28:03Speaker 1: love that place. Either way, they have the coolest thing
- 28:06Speaker 1: that my son and I do all the time, and
- 28:07Speaker 1: I think we're going to do it this weekend.
- 28:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Because if he has friends around, what we do is
- 28:11Speaker 1: they have like a Reaper roulette pizza.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Oh, God.
- 28:13Speaker 1: What is that? Yeah, so you'll get a big pizza,
- 28:16Speaker 1: but one of the slices of pizza has Reaper pepper
- 28:19Speaker 1: on it, but you don't know which one.
- 28:22Speaker 3: That's fun.
- 28:23Speaker 1: It is so fun. So and it's only like a
- 28:26Speaker 1: couple bucks extra. So we'll throw in the Reaper challenge
- 28:28Speaker 1: and then we'll all just wait and look around.
- 28:30Speaker 3: Because it's starting to burn.
- 28:32Speaker 6: Right.
- 28:32Speaker 1: Like it doesn't happen right away. Oh, so all of
- 28:35Speaker 1: a sudden you're like, I don't think I got it.
- 28:36Speaker 1: I don't think I got it. I don't think. And
- 28:37Speaker 1: then you'll just see one person in the group go.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Give me some milk.
- 28:43Speaker 1: We're going to do that on the show. I'm down.
- 28:46Speaker 3: I'm down to try it for sure.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Oh, but we'll have to get it with no cheese. Well, yeah.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Never mind. You can't hide the Reaper with no cheese. Yeah,
- 28:54Speaker 1: you sure can't.
- 28:55Speaker 3: No. We can get, you know, vegan cheese. Cashew cheese.
- 28:59Speaker 1: I'd rather eat the Reaper. Okay.
- 29:01Speaker 6: All right.
- 29:02Speaker 3: I'm Candace Lopez.
- 29:03Speaker 8: Those are your Texas Top Stories.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Getting ready for the banger on Mix 102.9. Plus, we
- 29:09Speaker 1: have Dirty Little Secret on the way. It's Billy the Kid,
- 29:12Speaker 1: Candace Lopez, producer Pooh. Now, we were talking about sounds
- 29:14Speaker 1: that trigger you, right? And so many good calls coming in. Yancy,
- 29:18Speaker 1: how are you? Good, Billy.
- 29:19Speaker 9: What's going on?
- 29:20Speaker 1: How you been? Good.
- 29:21Speaker 3: Doing well.
- 29:22Speaker 9: The sound that just hurts my ears is rubbing some
- 29:25Speaker 9: styrofoam together. I cannot listen to that.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Rubbing styrofoam together is weird. Yeah, it is.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Yeah, when you're trying to get something out of it.
- 29:36Speaker 1: It hurts. Yes. Or when you break it and have...
- 29:40Speaker 1: half like the big stuff. Oh, yeah. I don't like that.
- 29:42Speaker 5: You don't have to break it to put it in
- 29:43Speaker 5: the trash bag.
- 29:44Speaker 1: No, you don't. Sometimes.
- 29:46Speaker 3: Have Eric do it.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Have Eric do it and go back inside. And it
- 29:50Speaker 1: makes a mess.
- 29:50Speaker 2: All right.
- 29:51Speaker 1: I get that. That is a very good one. Okay. Well,
- 29:53Speaker 1: thank you so much. What are you up to today?
- 29:55Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 29:55Speaker 9: Oh, just heading to work. I do irrigation, sprinkler repairs.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Oh, cool.
- 29:59Speaker 3: Stay out in the sun.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Oh, well, hey, stay cool out there. It's going to
- 30:02Speaker 1: be hot. You got a couple more days of this,
- 30:04Speaker 1: and then I think we're good. So be careful. Oh, yeah.
- 30:06Speaker 2: I'm ready for it.
- 30:07Speaker 1: You have a good day, man.
- 30:08Speaker 6: All right.
- 30:08Speaker 9: Y'all have a good one.
- 30:09Speaker 1: See you.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Bye. See you.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Stacey, what's up, Stacey in Canton? What's up? How are you?
- 30:14Speaker 10: Good morning.
- 30:15Speaker 1: I'm good. What is a sound that triggers you?
- 30:19Speaker 8: Oh, my goodness. The girl on the treadmill at 530
- 30:22Speaker 8: in the morning, her sneaker, her shoe grabs the belt
- 30:27Speaker 8: on the treadmill and it makes this god awful squeaking noise.
- 30:33Speaker 10: I hate it.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Yes, because I'm like you. Sometimes I don't always have
- 30:38Speaker 1: if I'm at the gym. Sometimes I don't wear ear earbuds.
- 30:40Speaker 1: I'm weird about that. Yeah. Or I'll wear one. So
- 30:43Speaker 1: then I hear a weird sound like there was a
- 30:45Speaker 1: guy next to me. at the gym one day and
- 30:47Speaker 1: he was making the weirdest grunting sound when he was
- 30:50Speaker 1: benching but i could hear it and it was like
- 30:53Speaker 1: yeah and it was weird me out yeah i.
- 30:58Speaker 8: Know a lot of people wear earbuds but i'm one
- 31:00Speaker 8: of those that does not that sound i think even
- 31:03Speaker 8: with earbuds on you can hear.
- 31:04Speaker 1: It yeah that Well, Stacey, I hope you don't hear
- 31:08Speaker 1: that today, okay?
- 31:09Speaker 8: No, not today, but tomorrow morning at 530.
- 31:12Speaker 1: All right. Well, try to stay away from that squeaker.
- 31:15Speaker 6: All right.
- 31:15Speaker 1: Have a good day, Stacey.
- 31:17Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 31:17Speaker 6: Bye.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I just hate the sound of a treadmill in general.
- 31:20Speaker 1: It just sucks.
- 31:20Speaker 2: What up, Joe?
- 31:21Speaker 1: What's up? I'm good. You got a sound that triggers you.
- 31:26Speaker 1: What is it?
- 31:27Speaker 7: Anything paper that's dry, when it rubs between my fingers,
- 31:30Speaker 7: it stutters.
- 31:33Speaker 1: I don't know what it is, man.
- 31:34Speaker 7: It gives me chill bumps.
- 31:36Speaker 3: I get chill bumps. Really?
- 31:37Speaker 1: That just gives you the chills just thinking about it?
- 31:39Speaker 9: Man, I can't explain it.
- 31:43Speaker 10: And people that know it, they'll do it on purpose
- 31:45Speaker 10: in front of me, and man, I'll just run away.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I'm like, You know what's funny? This isn't a sound,
- 31:50Speaker 1: but speaking of paper, you know what will give me
- 31:52Speaker 1: the chills just thinking about it? Just thinking about a
- 31:54Speaker 1: paper cut makes me go, ugh.
- 31:56Speaker 6: Oh.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Well, thank you, and I hope you hear no paper
- 32:00Speaker 1: between your fingers today, Joe, okay? All right, guys. Love y'all.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Love you, too. I had a cardboard cut the other day.
- 32:05Speaker 3: You did?
- 32:06Speaker 1: Yeah, like who gets that?
- 32:08Speaker 6: Ew.
- 32:08Speaker 1: It's like a cardboard cut.
- 32:09Speaker 6: Get it off your chest.
- 32:11Speaker 4: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the
- 32:14Speaker 4: Morning on Mix 102.9.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Brought to you by MIMP Dentistry. If you've got a secret,
- 32:21Speaker 1: let us know.
- 32:21Speaker 6: 833-787-1029.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Dirty Little Secret is on. And by the way, trips
- 32:23Speaker 1: to Disneyland. So many chances to win. We'll do it
- 32:26Speaker 1: on the 10. So make sure you listen. Trip on us.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Pay for airfare, your hotel. Get it all hooked up.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Get that iHeartRadio app so you make sure you win
- 32:34Speaker 1: on the 10s all day. All right. Now, if you've
- 32:36Speaker 1: got a secret, confess. Sometimes people like to set it up, too,
- 32:39Speaker 1: on Instagram. You can always hit me up there, at
- 32:40Speaker 1: Billy on the radio. Your dirty little secret. What is
- 32:44Speaker 1: going on?
- 32:44Speaker 2: This is probably going to sound super weird. I'm actually
- 32:48Speaker 2: pretty embarrassed even admitting it, but I like to smell everything.
- 32:54Speaker 2: And when I say everything, I mean literally everything.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Okay, when you say you smell everything, what does that mean?
- 33:00Speaker 1: I mean, I smell everything too, but.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah, like I have a really good sense of smell.
- 33:04Speaker 1: You do. Like I smell everything. You've got canine senses
- 33:07Speaker 1: or something. Is it something you purposely do? Like everything
- 33:10Speaker 1: you touch, you want to sniff?
- 33:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like almost like a reflex. Like if I
- 33:15Speaker 2: pick something up, there's a good chance I'm probably going
- 33:17Speaker 2: to casually sniff it. Most of the time I've gotten
- 33:20Speaker 2: too good at it without anyone noticing. At least I
- 33:23Speaker 2: think so. But there's like certain things that like I
- 33:27Speaker 2: love smelling. So I'll like seek it out. So like
- 33:30Speaker 2: old books, for example, are my number one by far.
- 33:32Speaker 2: I love like the old paper smell, you know?
- 33:35Speaker 3: Yeah, like Barnes and Noble.
- 33:36Speaker 1: Wait, old books?
- 33:37Speaker 3: Barnes and Noble smells so good.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Or go to the library or an old bookstore. Not
- 33:45Speaker 2: even Barnes & Noble. Go to Half Price Books and
- 33:47Speaker 2: just walk around.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Okay. They do have a very distinct smell.
- 33:50Speaker 6: I know.
- 33:50Speaker 2: It sounds ridiculous.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Like dusty, musty. Yeah, just like books.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Like book smell.
- 33:55Speaker 5: I thought you meant you just have a really strong sense.
- 33:57Speaker 5: Like you can smell everything. But you mean you physically
- 34:00Speaker 5: pick things up and smell them.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Yes. That's weird. Well, it's both. I mean, different.
- 34:04Speaker 6: It's both.
- 34:06Speaker 1: But you do have a good sense of smell on
- 34:08Speaker 1: top of it. Oh, yeah.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Like I can remember people by their scent, like not
- 34:12Speaker 2: even perfume or cologne. Like, I don't know, pheromones. I
- 34:15Speaker 2: can just smell like, you know, my teacher from fourth grade.
- 34:20Speaker 2: Like I remember. I'll run into an old scent. You
- 34:23Speaker 2: know what I'm saying?
- 34:24Speaker 1: I kind of do because I do feel like people
- 34:27Speaker 1: have their own smells.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, here's an example. Do you remember going to
- 34:31Speaker 2: someone's house when you were a kid and then their
- 34:34Speaker 2: house just always had that certain smell? Yes.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Like spaghetti. I had a neighbor.
- 34:39Speaker 5: Their house smelled like spaghetti every time you went.
- 34:41Speaker 1: I do know what you mean.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:43Speaker 1: Right. Yeah. So you can smell people and recognize their scent.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like a thick scent.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Okay, like you know people, you could smell someone and go, oh,
- 34:55Speaker 1: that's Timmy. I know Timmy, he's from down the street.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Like eyes closed?
- 34:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Yeah, like eyes closed?
- 35:00Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Okay.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Like one time my older sister came home from college,
- 35:04Speaker 2: she surprised me for my birthday. And my parents were
- 35:07Speaker 2: hiding the fact that she was at the house. And
- 35:09Speaker 2: like the second I walked inside, I knew that she
- 35:12Speaker 2: was there. I was like, she's here. I can smell her.
- 35:15Speaker 1: That's kind of fascinating. And she was. Maybe we need
- 35:19Speaker 1: to put you at the airport.
- 35:20Speaker 2: The airport is rough, though.
- 35:24Speaker 1: Sniff for drugs. Oh, so there are some smells you
- 35:27Speaker 1: don't like. Well, obviously, there's some smells you don't like.
- 35:29Speaker 1: What smells don't you like?
- 35:31Speaker 2: Traffic.
- 35:32Speaker 3: Traffic?
- 35:33Speaker 2: I know it sounds weird.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Traffic has a smell?
- 35:37Speaker 2: It's miserable.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Like exhaust and rubber?
- 35:40Speaker 1: Rubber. Yeah.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Oil, diesel, the pollution.
- 35:45Speaker 1: Oh, that kind of makes sense.
- 35:47Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Now I'm fascinated by this to the point I have questions.
- 35:50Speaker 5: Well, I'm like, can you be trained to smell it? Like,
- 35:52Speaker 5: you know, the sniffing dogs.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Candace, how dare you? Well, no, I'm just saying.
- 35:55Speaker 1: She's not a dog.
- 35:56Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 35:58Speaker 2: Probably.
- 35:59Speaker 1: What's the weirdest thing? Let me ask you this. What's
- 36:01Speaker 1: the weirdest thing you smell when you're like, this is weird,
- 36:04Speaker 1: but I got to smell it?
- 36:05Speaker 2: Silverware. I have to smell silverware before I use it.
- 36:08Speaker 1: Silverware? Silverware for what?
- 36:11Speaker 2: Well, because I have to make sure it's properly clean,
- 36:13Speaker 2: especially if I'm at a friend's house. And if they
- 36:16Speaker 2: don't have a dishwasher, I'm like, okay, did you really
- 36:19Speaker 2: hand wash? How well did you hand wash this? I
- 36:21Speaker 2: have to smell it.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Now, I can tell the difference when you like drinking
- 36:24Speaker 1: out of a cup at a restaurant. Sometimes it smells funny.
- 36:26Speaker 1: You know, you're like, oh, this water.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Well, certain soaps and stuff leave behind a scent.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:32Speaker 2: It's like not something I enjoy. I need you to
- 36:34Speaker 2: know that. Like, this is like a tick. It's like
- 36:37Speaker 2: an OCD thing.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Like, if you see someone that you might like, do
- 36:40Speaker 1: you want to smell them?
- 36:44Speaker 3: Like, do you have to ask? For permission?
- 36:49Speaker 1: It's my permission to sniff.
- 36:51Speaker 6: Right.
- 36:51Speaker 2: There are things I do like to smell. Like, I
- 36:54Speaker 2: want to go travel and, like, smell places, other places
- 36:58Speaker 2: I haven't.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Like what? The Statue of Liberty?
- 37:00Speaker 2: I never thought about that.
- 37:01Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, New York has a smell. You know
- 37:03Speaker 3: New York.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Is there a certain city you want to smell more
- 37:06Speaker 1: than others?
- 37:07Speaker 2: Yes, yes. I want to go to Athens, Greece. I
- 37:10Speaker 2: want to go to Athens, Greece.
- 37:12Speaker 1: I thought you meant Athens, Texas.
- 37:13Speaker 2: The spices, the flowers there.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Really?
- 37:20Speaker 2: And the ocean. I just want to go and experience
- 37:23Speaker 2: all the smells there.
- 37:24Speaker 1: I never thought about that.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Like Hawaii has a smell. You can smell the flowers
- 37:28Speaker 3: and the trees.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Really? Mesquite has a smell.
- 37:31Speaker 6: Oh.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Oak Cliff has a smell, too. Town East smells amazing
- 37:35Speaker 1: this time of the year. Wow. Well, you're making me
- 37:40Speaker 1: see life in a different way.
- 37:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:43Speaker 1: I do appreciate the secret. Hopefully, it doesn't bring you
- 37:45Speaker 1: any kind of weirdness because I don't want you to
- 37:47Speaker 1: think that you're weird. I don't think you're weird. I
- 37:49Speaker 1: just think that people have their things, and this is
- 37:51Speaker 1: your thing.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Yeah. I was blessed with a gift and a curse.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Pooh, come here. Let me sniff you.
- 37:55Speaker 2: No.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Sniff these cookies.
- 37:57Speaker 1: Yeah, give me cookies to sniff. Thank you. Well, hey,
- 37:59Speaker 1: thank you so much. We appreciate you, and good luck
- 38:02Speaker 1: with smelling everything.
- 38:03Speaker 2: Thank you, guys. I appreciate it. Thanks for not judging.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Never. Of course. Dirty little secret. God, I love it.
- 38:10Speaker 1: I love weird stuff like this.
- 38:11Speaker 3: That's wild.
- 38:12Speaker 1: I do. I mean, I kind of get it, though. Like,
- 38:14Speaker 1: I love the smell. And this is a weird one.
- 38:17Speaker 1: I love the smell of a fresh can of open,
- 38:20Speaker 1: like when you just open the tennis balls. Oh, yeah.
- 38:23Speaker 1: I love it.
- 38:24Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 38:24Speaker 3: That's weird.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Yeah. And I also hate the smell of a bag
- 38:28Speaker 1: of Cheetos when you first open it.
- 38:29Speaker 3: You do?
- 38:30Speaker 6: Oh, my.
- 38:31Speaker 1: What's wrong with that?
- 38:33Speaker 3: Cheetos have a funky smell.
- 38:35Speaker 1: All right, if you never opened a bag.
- 38:36Speaker 3: I love Cheetos.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm eating them two points a day.
- 38:39Speaker 2: Are you serious?
- 38:39Speaker 1: I didn't know about Cheetos. I know Fritos do. You're
- 38:41Speaker 1: not a real big bag. Fritos, for sure. Fritos smell
- 38:43Speaker 1: like some elbows. No, you're not a- Elbows?
- 38:46Speaker 7: Yeah, when you open up a brand new bag of Fritos,
- 38:49Speaker 7: it smells like some dirty elbows.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Go to the vending machine right now. This is a
- 38:53Speaker 1: challenge I know you can do.
- 38:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Go to the vending machine right now. Get a bag
- 38:57Speaker 1: of Cheetos. Come in here and open them up right
- 38:59Speaker 1: at the beginning when you open up Cheetos. Okay.
- 39:02Speaker 3: I've never noticed.
- 39:03Speaker 1: It's going to smell like belly buttons. There's some Cheetos,
- 39:07Speaker 1: I think, behind Candace. Oh, there is? Is there?
- 39:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 39:09Speaker 1: That's what stinks. Where? There you go. Dirty little secret.
- 39:12Speaker 6: Where?
- 39:13Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, there are.
- 39:14Speaker 3: That's Pooh's drawer, by the way.
- 39:15Speaker 6: Okay.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Get them right now. It is.
- 39:17Speaker 2: All right. You ready?
- 39:18Speaker 1: Yes. And then as soon as you open them, smell it.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Okay. Okay.
- 39:24Speaker 6: I told you! All right.
- 39:30Speaker 4: It's time for Candace Court. It gets settled here with
- 39:34Speaker 4: Billy the Kid in the morning.
- 39:36Speaker 1: All rise for the Honorable Judge Candace Lopez. Here she is.
- 39:40Speaker 1: It's not too cold in here today. She doesn't have
- 39:42Speaker 1: three blankets on.
- 39:43Speaker 3: It's a little chilly. My feet are cold, though.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Oh, your feet are cold. Yeah. Are you not wearing shoes?
- 39:47Speaker 3: Well, I have sandals on, so my toes are out.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Oh, toes are out. Yeah. Okay. People pay for that.
- 39:52Speaker 1: I know. People pay for those pics of Candace Lopez's feet.
- 39:55Speaker 3: No, I don't sell them.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Yes, she does.
- 39:57Speaker 3: No, I don't. You would know for sure.
- 39:59Speaker 1: At Candace on air. Oh, you'd be acting different? Oh, yeah.
- 40:03Speaker 1: For sure. All right. It's Meeks 102.9. Billy the Kid.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Judge Candace. Bailiff Poo is here. Let's get to it.
- 40:08Speaker 1: All right. Today's case. I almost said his real name.
- 40:11Speaker 1: I'm not going to say his real name, but we'll
- 40:13Speaker 1: call him Jonathan. Okay. Jonathan McKinney has an issue. I'm
- 40:16Speaker 1: not usually a guy that even cares about this kind
- 40:19Speaker 1: of stuff, but here we are. So I'm hoping Candace
- 40:21Speaker 1: Court can help. I've been dating my girlfriend for almost
- 40:24Speaker 1: a year now. My issue is, and this is in
- 40:27Speaker 1: all caps and bold.
- 40:28Speaker 3: Whoa.
- 40:29Speaker 1: She still has pictures of her ex on her phone. Okay.
- 40:34Speaker 1: They were together for years. No kids. Broke it off
- 40:37Speaker 1: when he got with one of her friends while they
- 40:40Speaker 1: were on a break.
- 40:41Speaker 11: Wow.
- 40:42Speaker 1: Wow. He had to throw that in there, what went down,
- 40:45Speaker 1: which I appreciate. Thank you.
- 40:46Speaker 6: Okay.
- 40:46Speaker 3: I like the context.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Either way, the other day I saw a quote
- 40:49Speaker 1: unquote memory pop up on her phone and it was
- 40:51Speaker 1: a picture of them on vacation. Turns out she still
- 40:55Speaker 1: has hundreds of pictures of her ex-boyfriend on her phone.
- 40:59Speaker 1: Vacation pictures, romantic photos, holiday pictures. I said something right
- 41:04Speaker 1: away and she thought I was kind of crazy. She
- 41:08Speaker 1: says those are memories that she's had for years. It's
- 41:10Speaker 1: years of her life, and deleting them won't erase the past.
- 41:14Speaker 1: And then he says, in all caps, I said, you
- 41:17Speaker 1: can at least make it to where they aren't highlighted
- 41:20Speaker 1: in your memories. She pretty much laughed at me and
- 41:23Speaker 1: said I was being absolutely unreasonable, and I feel like
- 41:26Speaker 1: things are different now. I honestly think keeping them is
- 41:30Speaker 1: disrespectful to our relationship. The least she could do is
- 41:35Speaker 1: hide them So they don't pop up. Isn't that not
- 41:38Speaker 1: a compromise? All right. I'm curious what everyone thinks about this. Candace,
- 41:44Speaker 1: it's your court. Your opinion matters more than anybody's.
- 41:46Speaker 5: Hundreds of pictures, like hundreds. If you want to keep
- 41:50Speaker 5: these on the cloud, like in a folder, it's weird,
- 41:54Speaker 5: but whatever. That's like keeping old photographs in.
- 41:56Speaker 3: A box in the attic. You know what I mean?
- 41:58Speaker 5: Like they're not around. If you ever wanted to access
- 42:00Speaker 5: them one day in the future, you could.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Wow.
- 42:03Speaker 6: But.
- 42:04Speaker 3: On your phone every day.
- 42:05Speaker 1: I'm kind of surprised by your opinion like.
- 42:07Speaker 5: These shouldn't transfer phone to phone like i just got
- 42:10Speaker 5: a new phone i had to sit there and wait
- 42:11Speaker 5: for the thousands of photos to transfer right why does
- 42:14Speaker 5: it automatically what i know but they shouldn't transfer like
- 42:18Speaker 5: they're done that's old.
- 42:19Speaker 1: So you wouldn't leave it on your old phone yeah
- 42:21Speaker 1: but i mean if they're on your phone they're on
- 42:22Speaker 1: your phone okay so you're saying put them on.
- 42:25Speaker 5: The cloud Yeah, and, like, you shouldn't have enough pictures
- 42:28Speaker 5: of your ex that he shows up in your people section.
- 42:31Speaker 3: You know how it can be like, these are the
- 42:32Speaker 3: people that show up in a lot of photos. You
- 42:34Speaker 3: can search for one. Because then she could click on, oh, David.
- 42:36Speaker 1: I don't pay attention to that stuff.
- 42:39Speaker 3: No.
- 42:39Speaker 1: I don't even pay attention. It's got to be put up.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Put that stuff away. I don't want to see it.
- 42:42Speaker 3: I don't want to see it.
- 42:44Speaker 1: You guys are both. Now, I thought I was insecure.
- 42:48Speaker 1: You are both being so insecure. You're real insecure.
- 42:50Speaker 3: And it was a toxic breakup? Yeah, he cheated on you.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Why would you want that memory right there anyway? Okay, well,
- 42:57Speaker 1: hold on. First of all, this guy is being way,
- 43:01Speaker 1: now is the compromise to me, should it be popping
- 43:04Speaker 1: up on the memories? No.
- 43:05Speaker 6: Right.
- 43:05Speaker 1: He is exactly right. The compromise is, come on, I
- 43:08Speaker 1: don't want to see that. Fair. Yeah, you're right. It
- 43:11Speaker 1: shouldn't be my memories. That's weird. Am I deleting the
- 43:13Speaker 1: pictures from my phone? Absolutely not.
- 43:16Speaker 5: Why don't you just put them in the cloud and
- 43:17Speaker 5: take them off your phone so they're just not on
- 43:19Speaker 5: your device all the time?
- 43:20Speaker 1: That's going to make you feel better. Do you think
- 43:22Speaker 1: I go back and look at thousands of pictures that
- 43:24Speaker 1: are on my phone and just reminisce about good old days? Yeah. No,
- 43:27Speaker 1: I don't.
- 43:28Speaker 3: But you don't have to because your phone does it
- 43:29Speaker 3: for you.
- 43:29Speaker 5: It's like, hey, remember this time you and Jared went
- 43:32Speaker 5: to pictures with Santa?
- 43:33Speaker 1: But I would have that turned off. I wouldn't have
- 43:35Speaker 1: that on.
- 43:36Speaker 5: Well, she needs to turn it off because nobody wants
- 43:37Speaker 5: to see you and him at the pumpkin patch just randomly.
- 43:40Speaker 7: Transfer them jokers to your email or something.
- 43:44Speaker 1: What do you mean? That's not even how it works.
- 43:46Speaker 1: Your Gmail, it's not a flip phone. You could transfer them.
- 43:51Speaker 1: You can get them off your phone. So you would
- 43:52Speaker 1: want your girlfriend. Hold on. Okay. You would want your
- 43:56Speaker 1: girlfriend that was with someone for years to delete every
- 44:00Speaker 1: picture of them together. I don't want to see it. Yeah,
- 44:02Speaker 1: get rid of it. No, no, no, no.
- 44:04Speaker 3: It's a big ick.
- 44:06Speaker 6: What?
- 44:06Speaker 3: I'm surprised you disagree with us.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Girls are the same way. But people have a past.
- 44:13Speaker 1: People have a past. So you'd want her to delete
- 44:15Speaker 1: all the pictures on her phone of an ex-boyfriend. Yeah,
- 44:17Speaker 1: I'm not trying to see that.
- 44:18Speaker 2: No.
- 44:19Speaker 1: I'm not asking you if you want to see it.
- 44:22Speaker 1: You don't want to see it. You don't have to
- 44:23Speaker 1: see it. It's not your phone. Yeah, get rid of them.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Get rid of that. Yes. Yeah.
- 44:28Speaker 3: I just don't want to see it.
- 44:29Speaker 1: You two are bizarre. And you're acting like you wouldn't mind.
- 44:33Speaker 1: I would.
- 44:33Speaker 5: You don't even want your girlfriends to have a pass
- 44:35Speaker 5: when you date a man.
- 44:36Speaker 1: Of course not. I know you do. But I know
- 44:39Speaker 1: they do.
- 44:39Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 44:39Speaker 1: I'm not delusional to think that if she deletes the pictures,
- 44:43Speaker 1: that guy no longer existed. Right. I have pictures of
- 44:46Speaker 1: my ex in my phone right now. It's not like
- 44:47Speaker 1: I go back and look at them. I don't want
- 44:49Speaker 1: to delete all of them.
- 44:50Speaker 3: But if they were popping up on your phone as memories.
- 44:52Speaker 1: No, they're not popping up on my phone. I would
- 44:53Speaker 1: delete that. I don't want them memories popping up.
- 44:56Speaker 6: Right.
- 44:56Speaker 1: And have it to be highlighted.
- 44:57Speaker 3: That's the issue.
- 44:58Speaker 7: Yeah, if you look down at a new, say you
- 45:00Speaker 7: were dating a girl and you look down and you.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Saw a picture. I wouldn't do that. I just said
- 45:03Speaker 1: I wouldn't do that.
- 45:04Speaker 3: But if it popped up on her phone?
- 45:06Speaker 1: If it popped up on her phone, I wouldn't like it.
- 45:08Speaker 1: I'm not saying I would like the memories popping up.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Right.
- 45:11Speaker 1: But I would not be so crazy and delusional to
- 45:14Speaker 1: think that you have to go delete all the pictures
- 45:17Speaker 1: of your past because now you have a new boyfriend.
- 45:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:21Speaker 3: What?
- 45:22Speaker 1: Out with the old, in with the new. No. Yeah, go.
- 45:25Speaker 1: That is insecure. I'm not trying to see that. And
- 45:27Speaker 1: I have my moments of being insecure, but, poo, that's insecure.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Did you make your ex do that? Yeah. Well, no
- 45:34Speaker 1: wonder she needed space. Yeah, I did tell her to
- 45:37Speaker 1: do that. You told her to delete. That's psycho.
- 45:40Speaker 6: I just don't.
- 45:41Speaker 5: It's weird that they're still carrying on with her in
- 45:44Speaker 5: her phone.
- 45:44Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 45:45Speaker 3: Like, how many new phones have you had?
- 45:47Speaker 2: No, I mean.
- 45:48Speaker 1: It automatically transfers.
- 45:49Speaker 5: Yeah, but you can tell it not to.
- 45:51Speaker 1: Boy, y'all. Wow. Okay. We're not allowed to have it
- 45:54Speaker 1: passed over here. Are we crazy or something? Yes. You
- 45:57Speaker 1: can have a pass.
- 45:58Speaker 3: Just put it in the cloud.
- 45:59Speaker 1: All right. The verdict is in. I know how you go.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Go ahead, Candace.
- 46:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I think you're guilty of being a throwback, Thea.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 46:07Speaker 3: You're not guilty.
- 46:08Speaker 5: For having the memories, having the pictures, but don't have
- 46:11Speaker 5: them on your phone where they're popping up memories.
- 46:13Speaker 3: That is a good compromise, though. Turn the memory thing off.
- 46:16Speaker 1: I think you're guilty of being a Katrina cloud. A
- 46:20Speaker 1: controlling Katrina. There you go.
- 46:24Speaker 8: 102.9.
- 46:24Speaker 6: The new Mix 102.9.
- 46:27Speaker 4: Texas top stories on the 10s with Billy the Kid
- 46:30Speaker 4: in the morning.
- 46:31Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9. I don't want.
- 46:33Speaker 1: To brag, but, you know, a lot of people agree
- 46:36Speaker 1: with me.
- 46:37Speaker 6: Okay.
- 46:37Speaker 1: About deleting your ex's pics.
- 46:39Speaker 3: That's fine.
- 46:40Speaker 1: I'm online right now. I'm looking at my DMs.
- 46:41Speaker 3: They can agree with you.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Of course they're going to tell me they agree with
- 46:43Speaker 1: me and my DMs.
- 46:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:44Speaker 1: You don't have to delete pictures of your ex. You
- 46:46Speaker 1: know what? Delete them. Pretend like they never happened.
- 46:48Speaker 3: Well, I just don't want to see them. Don't let
- 46:50Speaker 3: them pop up on your phone. That's a big it.
- 46:52Speaker 1: And I agree with that. I agree with that. That's
- 46:54Speaker 1: a compromise. A trip to Disneyland. Coming up next, your
- 46:57Speaker 1: shot to go. Make sure you listen to have the
- 46:59Speaker 1: iHeartRadio app ready. Candace Lopez, what is going on?
- 47:01Speaker 5: Well, first responders and emergency crews are preparing for widespread
- 47:05Speaker 5: rain across the state starting tomorrow. This heavy rain could
- 47:08Speaker 5: lead to flash flooding in parts of central Texas. So
- 47:11Speaker 5: right here in the Metroplex, they're saying we could see
- 47:13Speaker 5: anywhere from two to four inches of rain. Some isolated
- 47:16Speaker 5: areas could get five inches. um so this is all
- 47:20Speaker 5: about timing i guess there's a cold front coming through
- 47:22Speaker 5: at the same time some of this rain from hurricane
- 47:25Speaker 5: polo is.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Making its way to us that's right um yeah any
- 47:29Speaker 3: other details you want to.
- 47:30Speaker 1: Give well i you know i i used to practice
- 47:32Speaker 1: meteorology yeah okay so what happens is the low pressure
- 47:35Speaker 1: system's coming.
- 47:36Speaker 11: In from the west it's coming in from the west
- 47:38Speaker 11: it's swooping down the issue is is it going to
- 47:40Speaker 11: stall over us right if it stalls over us and
- 47:43Speaker 11: some of the You know, certain clouds, the hibiscus clouds.
- 47:47Speaker 1: Okay. I'm not familiar with hibiscus. They have a lot
- 47:49Speaker 1: of rain in them. Oh, okay. Okay. We could have
- 47:52Speaker 1: a flood watch going on. We do have a flood
- 47:53Speaker 1: watch starting tomorrow, Candace.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Because the ground is too dry to take in all
- 47:57Speaker 1: the water at once.
- 47:58Speaker 3: Right. Take in like an inch of rain and then
- 48:00Speaker 3: the rest will just be run off.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Bingo.
- 48:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 48:02Speaker 1: Bingo, so be careful out there.
- 48:04Speaker 11: Yes.
- 48:05Speaker 5: Guys, we got more details on that GoFundMe story we
- 48:09Speaker 5: updated you on yesterday.
- 48:11Speaker 3: You remember the story out of the colony? The 81-year-old man,
- 48:13Speaker 3: he was seen struggling to take this luggage up the stairs.
- 48:16Speaker 3: He had been.
- 48:17Speaker 5: Working to help pay for his wife's medical bills by
- 48:19Speaker 5: returning lost luggage to people. Well, the story originally was
- 48:23Speaker 5: that a neighbor caught him on video doing this and
- 48:25Speaker 5: started the GoFundMe for him. It raised over $ 700, 000. It's
- 48:30Speaker 5: now been taken down after GoFundMe said they got a tip.
- 48:33Speaker 3: Here's the update.
- 48:34Speaker 5: Questioning the identity of the woman who started it, she
- 48:37Speaker 5: had identified herself as Erin Howell. Well, GoFundMe opened that
- 48:41Speaker 5: investigation and figured out that this was actually the daughter
- 48:45Speaker 5: of the man in the video, and she actually admitted.
- 48:49Speaker 3: to her real identity.
- 48:50Speaker 5: And also admitted that she took that video herself. Now,
- 48:55Speaker 5: the parts of the story are actually true. Her mother
- 48:57Speaker 5: is sick and her father is working to pay for
- 48:59Speaker 5: those bills, but that money has now been returned to
- 49:02Speaker 5: the donors. GoFundMe says lying about your identity is a
- 49:05Speaker 5: direct violation of their terms of service. And just an
- 49:09Speaker 5: update I never expected to hear.
- 49:10Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what should happen? Because you're right. You
- 49:13Speaker 1: can't lie about your identity. Of course, it's going to
- 49:15Speaker 1: go against the rules. I still feel bad for the
- 49:17Speaker 1: guy because he didn't ask for any of this. No. If,
- 49:20Speaker 1: you know, he wasn't, the daughter did it trying to
- 49:22Speaker 1: be nice. I mean, of course she cares about her dad.
- 49:24Speaker 1: So they should, anybody who donated, I feel like they
- 49:27Speaker 1: should tell them the situation. Tell them what happened. Be transparent.
- 49:30Speaker 1: And then you can hit a button on the computer. Yes,
- 49:32Speaker 1: I still want to donate or no, I don't.
- 49:34Speaker 5: Yeah, that would be a really good feature, I think,
- 49:36Speaker 5: for GoFundMe because obviously you don't want to get scammed.
- 49:39Speaker 5: But I think her heart was in the right place
- 49:41Speaker 5: with this.
- 49:42Speaker 1: You've got to be transparent and be real. Hey, my
- 49:44Speaker 1: dad is working his butt off. He's 81. My mom
- 49:46Speaker 1: has cancer. Just be real about it, and it wouldn't
- 49:49Speaker 1: be a problem.
- 49:49Speaker 3: Yeah, there'd be no red flags whatsoever.
- 49:51Speaker 5: And real quick, guys, Dennis Haskins, best known for playing
- 49:54Speaker 5: Principal Dr. Belding on Saved by the Bell, has passed
- 49:57Speaker 5: away at the age of 75.
- 50:00Speaker 6: I know.
- 50:00Speaker 3: I'm just thinking back to the show and how awesome
- 50:04Speaker 3: it was. I don't think I'll ever make it.
- 50:09Speaker 1: All the time.
- 50:10Speaker 6: By the time I grow up.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Well, rest in peace. There we go.
- 50:22Speaker 5: He last appeared as Principal Belding in 2015. The cast
- 50:26Speaker 5: reunited for a sketch on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
- 50:29Speaker 5: But it's taken me back to, like, my favorite episodes.
- 50:32Speaker 5: What a time watching Saved by the Bell and Dr.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Belding. Saturday morning, I used to watch it.
- 50:36Speaker 3: Yeah, same.
- 50:37Speaker 1: Eat my Froot Loops in a big old salad bowl.
- 50:40Speaker 6: Yeah. For sure.
- 50:41Speaker 1: Like a fat, chubby kid that I was. Life was good.
- 50:44Speaker 6: It was.
- 50:45Speaker 3: I'm Candace Lopez.
- 50:46Speaker 5: Those are your Texas Top Stories on Mix 102.9.
- 50:49Speaker 6: The new Mix 102.9.
- 50:51Speaker 3: Oh, that's a hot take.
- 50:54Speaker 6: Let us know what you think. Here's today's hot take.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Mix 102.9. Good morning. It's Bailey the Kid, Candace Lopez.
- 51:00Speaker 1: Pooh is here. Now, we have another shot to go
- 51:02Speaker 1: to Disneyland coming up at 9, 10. Make sure you
- 51:05Speaker 1: listen on the tents. Have that iHeartRadio app ready. To
- 51:08Speaker 1: go a trip on us, make it happen. Hot take
- 51:12Speaker 1: of the day. I saw this video and I was
- 51:14Speaker 1: so surprised by people's reactions, especially men. I don't know
- 51:19Speaker 1: why I'm surprised, but I should be. But I'm curious
- 51:21Speaker 1: what Candace thinks, what Pooh thinks. So there's a video
- 51:25Speaker 1: that's gone viral of a woman who she's on this plane.
- 51:28Speaker 1: She's sitting on the plane. Now, for context, she is
- 51:32Speaker 1: an Instagram model. And I don't think she's just– I
- 51:35Speaker 1: don't want to demean her like that. Like literally? No,
- 51:38Speaker 1: like she's literally an Instagram model. I think she's also
- 51:41Speaker 1: a model, but she has like 1.5 million followers. And
- 51:44Speaker 1: I say that just to give you context of who
- 51:45Speaker 1: she is. Okay. She's very attractive. She definitely looks like
- 51:51Speaker 1: a model. She just has very– you know, she was
- 51:55Speaker 1: done up on the plane. This all makes sense. here
- 51:58Speaker 1: in a second.
- 51:58Speaker 5: Okay.
- 51:59Speaker 1: You know, she's got, you know, I think she's got,
- 52:00Speaker 1: you know, she's traveling, but she looks like she's not
- 52:03Speaker 1: liking sweats. I don't either way. The point is she
- 52:06Speaker 1: has 1.5 million followers. She's on the plane. There's a
- 52:09Speaker 1: guy sitting next to her. Okay. The guy sitting next
- 52:12Speaker 1: to her on the plane, you know, you look and I,
- 52:15Speaker 1: I mean, maybe I'm nosy, but if somebody's got their phone,
- 52:17Speaker 1: I'm going to look.
- 52:18Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 52:18Speaker 3: Just to see, like, are they texting?
- 52:20Speaker 1: Are they watching something? I'm just being real. I'm going to,
- 52:23Speaker 1: I'm going to look down. I'm gonna see what's going on. Well,
- 52:25Speaker 1: she looks at this guy's phone and, And he had
- 52:29Speaker 1: taken a picture of her.
- 52:31Speaker 2: Oh.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Sitting next to him. So he takes a picture like,
- 52:36Speaker 1: you know, I mean, he's trying to make it casual,
- 52:38Speaker 1: but obviously it wasn't that casual. Yeah. And he's texting
- 52:42Speaker 1: a friend of his and he says, oh, by the way,
- 52:45Speaker 1: here's my seatmate or something like that.
- 52:48Speaker 6: Okay.
- 52:48Speaker 1: And it's a picture of her. She notices this. The
- 52:50Speaker 1: other people are also like looking around, looking at his
- 52:53Speaker 1: phone because he's texting everybody and you could see what's
- 52:56Speaker 1: going on. I don't know why he thinks you can't see,
- 52:58Speaker 1: but you can.
- 52:58Speaker 3: Right.
- 52:59Speaker 1: So she's like, you know, this made me feel uncomfortable, whatever. Now,
- 53:03Speaker 1: at the end of the plane ride, she's like, you know,
- 53:06Speaker 1: I wasn't going to say anything. And then I basically
- 53:08Speaker 1: said something. I confronted him about it. Oh, wow. And
- 53:11Speaker 1: I said, hey, you know, it's not really cool to
- 53:12Speaker 1: take pictures of somebody like that.
- 53:14Speaker 6: Right.
- 53:14Speaker 1: Now, it wasn't a I'm not saying it was right
- 53:17Speaker 1: or it was wrong yet. I'm just saying that it
- 53:20Speaker 1: wasn't some creepy pic. It wasn't like, well, it could,
- 53:24Speaker 1: I mean, in general, you might think that's creepy to
- 53:25Speaker 1: take a picture of somebody when they're not paying attention
- 53:27Speaker 1: for sure. And they don't know, but it wasn't an inappropriately,
- 53:31Speaker 1: you know what I'm doing? Like sometimes people are trying
- 53:34Speaker 1: to get weird.
- 53:34Speaker 3: Angles or different.
- 53:36Speaker 1: That's, that's what I'm saying. Yeah. So I'm just trying
- 53:38Speaker 1: to get, so, you know, all the facts here. So
- 53:41Speaker 1: when she's leaving and she's getting up, she's like, Hey,
- 53:43Speaker 1: it's not really cool that you did that. And she's
- 53:45Speaker 1: like expecting him to yell at her or something. And
- 53:48Speaker 1: he's like, Yeah. You know what? You're right. Basically kind
- 53:51Speaker 1: of said like, you should take it as a compliment,
- 53:54Speaker 1: but I get it. I'm sorry. You know, I really,
- 53:56Speaker 1: I apologize. And he was, he apologized and it moved
- 53:59Speaker 1: on and it ended. And I immediately, I mean, I
- 54:03Speaker 1: sprained an ankle getting the comments. I mean, I was
- 54:10Speaker 1: sprinting to the comments to see what people thought. And
- 54:13Speaker 1: I could not believe how many people were in the
- 54:15Speaker 1: comments going, get over yourself.
- 54:18Speaker 3: Oh, wow.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Get over you.
- 54:19Speaker 3: Saying she shouldn't be upset by it.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Yes. Okay. So many people were in the comments going,
- 54:26Speaker 1: you know, you're hysterical. I mean, mostly men.
- 54:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 54:31Speaker 1: Going, you're hysterical. So you will post pictures all day, 24-7.
- 54:35Speaker 1: of what you're doing, what you're wearing, what you're eating,
- 54:38Speaker 1: but then you're mad that somebody took a picture of you?
- 54:41Speaker 6: Right.
- 54:41Speaker 5: It's harder to give her a pass because she's basically
- 54:45Speaker 5: a celebrity.
- 54:45Speaker 1: Exactly. Okay, here's my thoughts on it. He doesn't know that.
- 54:50Speaker 5: Okay, he didn't know she was an Instagram model.
- 54:52Speaker 1: Even if he did, he had to know she was something. Okay,
- 54:56Speaker 1: but I think this is an epidemic, and I think
- 54:59Speaker 1: it's super creepy. I think it's super weird because I've
- 55:02Speaker 1: even had my friends do this.
- 55:04Speaker 3: You have?
- 55:04Speaker 1: I've had my friends take a picture.
- 55:05Speaker 5: Take pictures of random girls because they're hot?
- 55:07Speaker 1: Yes. And I wrote back and one of my friends
- 55:10Speaker 1: did and he was at a gas station. He's like,
- 55:12Speaker 1: oh my God, look at this smoke show. And I
- 55:14Speaker 1: was like, bro, that is creepy.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Yeah, that's gross.
- 55:17Speaker 1: That's okay.
- 55:18Speaker 5: But is it any different than taking a picture of
- 55:20Speaker 5: the person next to you in.
- 55:21Speaker 3: Their car eating?
- 55:22Speaker 6: No.
- 55:23Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, well, that's weird, too. Yeah.
- 55:25Speaker 5: We're just taking pictures of people without their consent all
- 55:28Speaker 5: the time.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Yeah. Yes. But it's definitely weird to me. It's extra
- 55:33Speaker 1: weird given the dynamic when it's a man taking a
- 55:36Speaker 1: picture of a woman. Yeah. It just is. Yeah.
- 55:38Speaker 3: No, it's gross.
- 55:39Speaker 1: It's gross. It's weird to me. And I could not
- 55:41Speaker 1: believe how many men were in the comments and women.
- 55:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 55:45Speaker 1: Women in the comments going, so what? It's a free country.
- 55:47Speaker 1: Who cares?
- 55:49Speaker 7: I mean, but she is like basically a celebrity influencer
- 55:52Speaker 7: or whatever.
- 55:53Speaker 1: Like he's probably, but he didn't know that.
- 55:55Speaker 6: Okay.
- 55:56Speaker 1: You could see in the, it wasn't like, Oh my God. So,
- 55:59Speaker 1: you know, He didn't know who she was. You know
- 56:00Speaker 1: how many people on Instagram have a million followers and
- 56:02Speaker 1: nobody knows you? Yeah. It doesn't matter.
- 56:04Speaker 3: No, that's true.
- 56:06Speaker 1: She's not a household name. Right. This guy took a
- 56:10Speaker 1: picture of her because she's attractive. Okay. Yeah. That's why.
- 56:13Speaker 3: That's gross.
- 56:14Speaker 5: We have enough to contend with as women in the
- 56:16Speaker 5: world already than to have you just snapping pictures. Yeah,
- 56:19Speaker 5: it's kind of a compliment. I see where you're coming from.
- 56:21Speaker 5: But also, was that necessary? That's how you entertained yourself
- 56:24Speaker 5: on the plane?
- 56:24Speaker 1: And then you're going to sit there in front of
- 56:26Speaker 1: me and text your friends about how attractive I am?
- 56:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 56:29Speaker 1: Like, that is kind of strange. Is it legal? Yes.
- 56:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:33Speaker 1: It's legal. Doesn't make it right. Right. Doesn't make it right.
- 56:37Speaker 7: Okay, but if the roles were reversed, if it was
- 56:40Speaker 7: a hot guy and a girl did it, like.
- 56:43Speaker 1: Is it okay to? What girl's doing that? What girl
- 56:46Speaker 1: is doing that? Some girls do that. Don't get it twisted.
- 56:49Speaker 1: Girls wear. I've never heard.
- 56:50Speaker 3: I feel like that's very rare.
- 56:51Speaker 1: I've genuinely never seen it happen. I'm being honest.
- 56:54Speaker 7: The girls I know, if they've seen a hot guy,
- 56:57Speaker 7: they'll take a picture and be like, look at.
- 56:58Speaker 1: This good guy, girl. Well, that's creepy, too.
- 57:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:00Speaker 1: You don't think that's creepy? Yeah, I don't care. Girls
- 57:04Speaker 1: don't get as much flack as a dude does. So
- 57:05Speaker 1: you're out. Let's say you're out, Pooh, and you find
- 57:08Speaker 1: it nothing. Like if you're on a plane. You don't
- 57:10Speaker 1: think it's weird that if you were to take your
- 57:12Speaker 1: phone and there's an attractive girl next to you and
- 57:14Speaker 1: you're going to be like, sneak a pic. I wouldn't
- 57:16Speaker 1: do that.
- 57:17Speaker 3: Why?
- 57:18Speaker 2: Why?
- 57:19Speaker 1: Just because I don't ever do that. Why wouldn't you
- 57:22Speaker 1: do that? I just don't do that, personally.
- 57:24Speaker 7: But I've been out places where people have snapped, sent
- 57:28Speaker 7: me a picture, hey, saw you and Billy eating.
- 57:30Speaker 1: That's because you're texting and driving. No. And I okay that.
- 57:34Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 57:35Speaker 1: That's okay. I've had people take a picture of me
- 57:39Speaker 1: and be like, hey, I didn't want to bother you,
- 57:40Speaker 1: but I saw you. Yeah. That doesn't really bother me.
- 57:43Speaker 1: I don't know. It doesn't really bother me, but I
- 57:45Speaker 1: don't really care. I'm not a woman who has to
- 57:47Speaker 1: deal with weirdo dudes all the time.
- 57:49Speaker 3: We know what the facts are.
- 57:50Speaker 5: Are men more weirdos than women?
- 57:52Speaker 6: Yes.
- 57:53Speaker 10: They are.
- 57:54Speaker 1: They are. But I mean... Come on, cut him some slack. Oh, wow.
- 57:59Speaker 1: I'm surprised by that. He's probably ugly. Okay, let me
- 58:02Speaker 1: ask you something. Let me ask you something. So you
- 58:05Speaker 1: don't think there's anything wrong with what he did? It's
- 58:07Speaker 1: not that big of a deal? And I'm not saying it's...
- 58:09Speaker 1: Let me say this. I don't think it's the biggest
- 58:11Speaker 1: thing ever. I don't think he's a dirtbag.
- 58:12Speaker 3: Right. He's not necessarily hurting her, but it's disrespectful.
- 58:16Speaker 6: It's gross.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Right. I don't think he's the worst guy on the planet.
- 58:19Speaker 1: There's many other things that he could have done that's worse.
- 58:21Speaker 1: I don't think he's like a bad guy necessarily. I
- 58:23Speaker 1: just think it was a bad judgment call.
- 58:24Speaker 6: Right.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Right. Now you don't think it was that big of
- 58:26Speaker 1: a deal. I don't think it was that big. Okay.
- 58:28Speaker 1: Let me ask you this. Okay. Let's say you had
- 58:31Speaker 1: a daughter and she's on that plane and there's a
- 58:35Speaker 1: guy and he decides to take a picture of your daughter.
- 58:38Speaker 1: Do you have the same vibe? No. Exactly.
- 58:42Speaker 3: I'm kidding.
- 58:43Speaker 1: That's my point.
- 58:44Speaker 5: You have to put yourself, you have to take it
- 58:46Speaker 5: to that level. If it was your daughter, if it
- 58:48Speaker 5: was your mom, if it was your wife, to get
- 58:50Speaker 5: people to empathize with these situations.
- 58:52Speaker 1: Right, which you shouldn't have to.
- 58:53Speaker 6: No.
- 58:53Speaker 1: There should be some respect.
- 58:54Speaker 7: What if she was some sort of celebrity, like a
- 58:57Speaker 7: Jenner or one of them, and he did it?
- 58:59Speaker 1: Is it still creepy? You know what I'm saying? It is,
- 59:02Speaker 1: but they.
- 59:02Speaker 3: Have to expect that they're going to get that.
- 59:04Speaker 1: That comes with the territory. You're a celebrity, so to speak.
- 59:06Speaker 1: But that's also disrespectful still at the same time If
- 59:10Speaker 1: someone's sitting next to you, it doesn't matter if it's
- 59:12Speaker 1: a celebrity or not. It's still weird that you're taking
- 59:14Speaker 1: a picture of somebody not knowing. I mean, that's weird
- 59:17Speaker 1: to me. That is weird, celebrity or not. Now, when
- 59:19Speaker 1: you're a celebrity, though, that does come along with some
- 59:22Speaker 1: expectations of people.
- 59:23Speaker 3: You've got to expect it's going to happen.
- 59:25Speaker 1: You've got to expect it. There are fans out there.
- 59:26Speaker 1: Some people don't even know what to do. They'll be like, oh.
- 59:28Speaker 1: And just snap a picture. I don't think someone online
- 59:31Speaker 1: who's an influencer is necessarily the same level as a
- 59:35Speaker 1: Kim Kardashian.
- 59:36Speaker 3: No.
- 59:36Speaker 1: So she doesn't expect it. Should she? Maybe. I don't know. 833-787-1029.
- 59:42Speaker 1: How many women? I bet so many women have dealt
- 59:46Speaker 1: with this. Have you caught a guy taking a picture
- 59:48Speaker 1: of you?
- 59:49Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 59:50Speaker 1: Have you? And what did you do? I'm curious. 833-787-1029. Yeah.
- 59:57Speaker 1: I knew I was going to get a lot of
- 59:58Speaker 1: comments about this hot take of the day on Mix 102.9.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: It's Billy the Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh. We were
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: talking about this situation basically that happened online that went
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: viral where this woman who is an Instagram model, and
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: I guess I'm going to put that out there because
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: that is sometimes something that influences people to think differently
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: about this situation. But she's on a plane. A guy
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: takes a picture of her that's sitting next to her,
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: texts his friend, and he's like, oh, by the way,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: look at my seatmate. And she saw him do this,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: texted back and forth at the end of the conversation
- 1:00:26Speaker 1: or the end of the flight. She said, Hey, I
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: don't really appreciate that. And he apologized.
- 1:00:30Speaker 3: Yeah, that's good.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: But some people in the comments are going off like, Hey,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: you're an Instagram model. I mean, what do you expect?
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: People take pictures of you all the time. Who cares?
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: You take pictures of yourself. And I'm like, and she
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: controls whether she takes the pictures and when she puts
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: them out.
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: Nobody wants a picture taken of them when they're not ready.
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: Nobody does.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: Like Kevin just DM me. And he said, yeah, I
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: think she can get over it. Okay. Okay. A lot
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: of guys see nothing wrong with this. He's like, she
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: should take it as a compliment. I don't know why
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: that's a compliment. No, basically the guy on the plane
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: was saying, well, you're, you're very pretty. And I was
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: just showing my friend, I got lucky, you know, by
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: sitting next to you. Okay. Um, Jackie, by the way,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: how did Jackie, thank you so much, Jackie. She said,
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: it is creepy. It's creepy when guys do this in general.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: If you're sneaking anything, it's creepy.
- 1:01:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: Laura, what do you think?
- 1:01:16Speaker 10: Um, yeah, like I've definitely seen guys taking pictures of
- 1:01:20Speaker 10: other girls and sending them to their friends and, I agree.
- 1:01:24Speaker 10: I think it's creepy.
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: Really? So when you saw somebody else doing this, did
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: you say anything? Because that's what a weird position to
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: be in. Like you're seeing it go down. But what
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: do you say? It's like I don't some people to
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: hate confrontation. I get it.
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:01:37Speaker 10: I mean, I've actually seen my friends do this and
- 1:01:40Speaker 10: I have said to them, like, I don't think that
- 1:01:42Speaker 10: that's cool. I don't think that that's OK.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:45Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:01:45Speaker 6: No.
- 1:01:45Speaker 10: Even with like the glasses now where you can take
- 1:01:47Speaker 10: pictures of people without them noticing. Like, I don't like
- 1:01:50Speaker 10: that at all.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: It's awful.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: It's weird. I know. OK, Laura, I knew I was. Well,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: thank you so much, Laura, for calling. Have a great day, OK?
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Thanks.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: You too.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Bye.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: All right. Stacey, Stacey and Richardson. What's up, Stacey? How
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: are you?
- 1:02:04Speaker 9: Hi, I am Stacey from Frisco actually.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: Oh, Frisco. What's up Frisco, Stacey?
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: Hello.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: What do you think?
- 1:02:11Speaker 9: I met you guys at the. Oh, dog thing too.
- 1:02:14Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: You were wait. I know the whole lot. I know.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: I have a great weird memory. Stacey, you were in
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: a field by the bank and you ran over across
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: the field.
- 1:02:21Speaker 9: I did because I was like.
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: We remember Stacy.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: How do I remember that?
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: There was only one Stacy on the corny dog walk.
- 1:02:31Speaker 9: Because I was probably weird.
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: There was two Stacys. No, you weren't weird. No. No,
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: it's because Pooh took a picture of you. No, I'm
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: just kidding.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 1:02:40Speaker 9: No, Pooh wasn't there.
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: No, he was already dead in the car.
- 1:02:44Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Stacy. Oh, that's all. Well, thank you for coming out.
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: That was, it was great to meet you. I totally
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: remember specifically. What do you think about this situation with
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: the pigs?
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:02:54Speaker 9: So I don't think it is good that he took
- 1:02:57Speaker 9: the picture without her knowing.
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: I would have.
- 1:03:01Speaker 9: Confronted him way before that.
- 1:03:03Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:03:03Speaker 9: But I do take weird pictures of weird people with
- 1:03:08Speaker 9: enough of knowing.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: Okay, I appreciate you admitting that. Now, what kind of
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: weird pictures? Like, what's the last picture you took that
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: somebody was doing something weird?
- 1:03:17Speaker 9: Just like if they're wearing something like, what are they thinking?
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Okay. I'm like.
- 1:03:23Speaker 9: For real, like, why are you wearing this together? Why
- 1:03:25Speaker 9: are you wearing this at the airport?
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: No, that's fair.
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: I feel like there's... We shame people for different things.
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: Yeah, socks with sandals.
- 1:03:34Speaker 3: I did take a picture of the lady on the plane.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: Do you remember the lady who went off on the plane?
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Remember?
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: And she went viral from here.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: Tiffany Gomez.
- 1:03:41Speaker 3: I ran into her. Well, I saw her at the
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: Byron Nelson.
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: I love her.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: I know. That's why I took a picture. But I
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: was like, look at this hot girl.
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: I was like, hey.
- 1:03:49Speaker 3: Look who I saw.
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: I know.
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: You sent it to me and I was all excited. Yeah.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: I love that girl. I love her.
- 1:03:54Speaker 9: You didn't tell her, did you? You just took it secretly.
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: I did. Yeah.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: You creeped on her?
- 1:03:58Speaker 6: Well, yeah.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: I was like, oh, look who's here.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: See, Candace, I'm DMing her. I'm going to tell her. No,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: that's fine. I love her. Okay, so that's interesting, though.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: It doesn't feel as creepy when a woman is doing it, though.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: Guys are just creepy naturally, so I feel like we
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: are just extra creepy. You know what I mean? Yeah.
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: Thank you, Stacey. I appreciate you calling, and thank you
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: for coming out to the Corny Dog Walk, and it
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: was nice meeting you.
- 1:04:21Speaker 9: Nice meeting you guys, too. Have a great Tuesday.
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: You too, Stacey. A lot of guys get mad at
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: me when I say that. When I'm like, guys are creepy.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: They're like, you're sticking up for dudes. Not all men
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: are creepy.
- 1:04:32Speaker 6: No.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: And I think, you know, obviously that's not, that's the case.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: But I mean, like. Who and I, we're not creepy. Right.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: But men tend to be creepy.
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: Of course.
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: I hate that. But I mean, don't you think? I mean,
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: I know you don't.
- 1:04:45Speaker 3: Let's fix it.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm trying to.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: Yeah, good. I like it.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: I'm trying to. I don't think if you like if
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: I were at a place and I saw a guy
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: take a picture of a woman.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: And she didn't know. I'm saying something to the guy. Definitely.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: I'm going to be like, what's that all about?
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not cool.
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: No, especially if they're doing anything inappropriate because that's a
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: big thing.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: Lately. Ladies, I mean, I hate to say that. They
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: just caught a guy the other day. I forget where
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: it was, but it was at some kind of bank.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: And there was a woman in front of him in line,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: and she was wearing a skirt. And he drops his
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: phone or drops something and then goes and takes a picture. Ladies,
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: be aware of your surroundings.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: For sure.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: And if you see something like that and you don't
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: say something like that, I mean, you're just as guilty.
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely creepy.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Men need to stick up for women. Absolutely. Call each
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: other out. Call each other out. You hear that, Pooh?
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: Don't make me call you out.
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: It's Texas Top Stories on the 10s with Billy the
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: Kid in the morning.
- 1:05:43Speaker 6: Only on the new Mix 102.9.
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: All right, Candace Lopez, Texas Top Stories. What's going on?
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: I might take a picture of you while you're doing this,
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: but go ahead.
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: Go ahead, whatever.
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:05:52Speaker 5: So Morgan Stanley has officially picked Dallas for its $ 1.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: 3 billion regional hub. This will create more than 3,800
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: jobs and help the rise of Y'all Street.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: I love Yall Street.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: I do, too.
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: Dallas' new financial district hosting the Texas Stock Exchange.
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: That's what we're talking about.
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: But the company's going to build a new office in
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: Uptown on McKinney.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: Avenue, just north of Woodall Rogers. So, yeah, that's a
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: big deal.
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: We need more finance bros here.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: We do.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: That area's lacking finance bros. No, it's not. That's all
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: there is. His dudes in Patagonia vests.
- 1:06:23Speaker 6: I know.
- 1:06:23Speaker 5: Speaking of taking pictures in public, last time I was
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: at lunch, like this time of year, and I remember
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: seeing so many vests. I did make a low-key video
- 1:06:30Speaker 5: of all the Finance Bro vests. I didn't put their faces,
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: but I was just like, look at how many there are.
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: Yeah, so many. They all look the same, though.
- 1:06:37Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: You know, like Lululemon vests, Patagonia vest.
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: North Face.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: North Face.
- 1:06:42Speaker 6: Maybe.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe. Zara.
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: I don't know what they are.
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: The tucked-in shirt with the belt.
- 1:06:46Speaker 3: It's a vibe.
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: I mean, no, they look good. I'm not saying they
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: look bad. It's just a very.
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: They're put together.
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a very... type of person. It is. It is.
- 1:06:54Speaker 5: Guys, the CEO of Walmart is speaking out about those
- 1:06:56Speaker 5: viral videos that say they use dynamic pricing with their
- 1:06:59Speaker 5: digital shelf price labels. He says they do not set
- 1:07:03Speaker 5: different prices based on who you are or the time
- 1:07:06Speaker 5: of day that you are shopping. But Walmart did get
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: a patent in 2023 for this electronic shelf labeling system
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: where they can adjust the prices remotely.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: I mean, there was one girl claiming that she bought
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: something and by the time she took it off the shelf,
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: When she got to the register, it went up in
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: the price.
- 1:07:22Speaker 3: Yeah, not cool.
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: That's... Okay, now that's crazy. Yeah, I mean, if.
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: They wanted to, they can change the price based on
- 1:07:29Speaker 5: supply and demand just with this technology.
- 1:07:32Speaker 3: But no, I don't want you doing that.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: And it's just getting rid of jobs. People are putting
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: up the prices and changing the prices.
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: I don't like that.
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: I don't either.
- 1:07:39Speaker 5: Real quick, guys, a lot of people were expecting the
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: Super Bowl halftime performer to get announced last night during
- 1:07:44Speaker 5: Monday Night Football.
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: Oh, did it?
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: That did not happen.
- 1:07:46Speaker 6: Oh. No.
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: So people were expecting it, but ESPN has the.
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: What the.
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: Broadcast rights to the game. It's on Valentine's Day. What's happening?
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: Sorry, the computer is messing up. You can tell we're live.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: The computer is, like, lagging.
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: And something's wrong, so the buttons are not working when
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: they should.
- 1:08:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: Well, for the last, I don't know, six years or so,
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: they've announced the performer in September. But online, people are
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: saying Miley Cyrus, Jay-Z, two top contenders for halftime. There's also,
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: you know, people betting on Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter,
- 1:08:21Speaker 5: and Taylor Swift.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: I want Bieber.
- 1:08:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd love that.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: I mean, for the Super Bowl.
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: I mean, who's going to say that? Just me screaming,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: I want Bieber.
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: Well, last year they announced Bad Bunny September 28th. So
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: today's September 29th.
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: So it could be coming any day now, but I'll
- 1:08:39Speaker 3: keep you posted.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: What the?
- 1:08:41Speaker 3: Creepy. Yeah, I know.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: The buttons are just doing whatever they want.
- 1:08:45Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:08:45Speaker 3: I'm Candace Lopez.
- 1:08:46Speaker 5: Those are your Texas top stories on Mix 102.9.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: What is going on?
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: It's Dirty Little Secret with Billy the Kid in the Morning.
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: On Mix 102.9. Brought to you by Mint Industry.
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: Dirty Little Secret is on. It's Billy the Kid, Candice Lopez,
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: Producer Poo. Now, if you've got a secret, anytime you want,
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: just reach out. It doesn't even have to be while
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: we're doing Dirty Little Secret. Just call us anytime. We're here.
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: 833-787-1029.
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: Big secret, little secret, silly secrets, whatever. What you got?
- 1:09:14Speaker 2: This is probably going to sound super weird. I'm actually
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: pretty embarrassed even admitting it, but I like to smell everything.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: And when I say everything, I mean literally everything.
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: Okay, when you say you smell everything, what does that mean?
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: I mean, I smell everything, too, but.
- 1:09:32Speaker 3: Yeah, like, I have a really good sense of smell.
- 1:09:34Speaker 6: You do.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: Like, I smell everything. You may have just got canine
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: senses or something. Is it something you purposely do? Like,
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: everything you touch, you want to sniff?
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's almost like a reflex. Like, if I pick
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: something up, there's a good chance I'm probably going to
- 1:09:47Speaker 2: casually sniff it. Most of the time, I've gotten pretty
- 1:09:50Speaker 2: good at it. without anyone noticing at least i think
- 1:09:53Speaker 2: so um but there's like certain things that like i
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: love smelling so i'll like seek it out so like
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: old books for example are my number one by far
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: i love like the old paper smell you know like.
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: Barnes and noble wait old books barnes and noble smells so.
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: Good Yeah, like, or go to, like, the library. The
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: library or, like, an old bookstore. Not even Barnes & Noble.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: Go to, like, Half Price Books and just walk around.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: Okay. They do have a very distinct smell.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: I know. It sounds ridiculous.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: Like, dusty, musty. Yeah, just like books.
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: Like, book smell.
- 1:10:25Speaker 5: I thought you meant, like, you just have a really
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: strong sense. Like, you can smell everything. But you mean
- 1:10:29Speaker 5: you physically pick things up and smell them.
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: Yes. That's weird. Well, it's both. I mean, different. It's both.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: But you do have a good sense of smell on
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: top of it.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Like I can remember people by their scent,
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: like not even perfume or cologne. Like, I don't know, pheromones.
- 1:10:45Speaker 2: I can just smell like, you know, my teacher from
- 1:10:49Speaker 2: fourth grade. Like I remember. I'll run into an old scent.
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: I kind of do because I do feel like people
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: have their own smells. Yeah.
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: Well, here's an example. Do you remember going to someone's
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: house when you were a kid and then their house
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: just always had that certain smell?
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: Like spaghetti. I had a neighbor.
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: Their house smelled like spaghetti every time you went.
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: I do know what you mean.
- 1:11:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: So you can smell people and recognize their scent.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like a thick scent.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: Okay, like you know people, you could smell someone and go, oh,
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: that's Timmy. I know Timmy. He's from down the street.
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: Eyes closed?
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, like eyes closed?
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: Like one time my older sister came home from college
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: to surprise me for my birthday, and my parents were
- 1:11:37Speaker 2: hiding the fact that she was at the house. And
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: like the second I walked inside, I knew that she
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: was there. I was like, she's here. I can smell her.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: That's kind of fascinating. And she was. Maybe we need
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: to put you at the airport.
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: The airport is rough, though.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: Sniff for drugs. Oh, so there are some smells you
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: don't like. Well, obviously, there's some smells you don't like.
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: What smells don't you like?
- 1:12:01Speaker 2: Traffic. traffic like if i'm i know it sounds weird
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: traffic has a smell 75 it's miserable like exhaust and
- 1:12:09Speaker 2: rubber and rubber yeah oil diesel the pollution oh that.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: Kind of makes sense yeah now i'm fascinated by this
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: to the point i have questions i'm.
- 1:12:19Speaker 5: Like couldn't you can you be trained to smell it
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: like you know the sniffing dogs like can you.
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: Be trained how dare you well no i'm just saying
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: like a dog You know what I mean? Probably.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: What's the weirdest thing? Let me ask you this. What's
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: the weirdest thing you smell when you're like, this is weird,
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: but I got to smell it?
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: Silverware. I have to smell silverware before I use it.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: Silverware? Silverware for what?
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: Well, because I have to make sure it's properly clean,
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: especially if I'm at a friend's house. And if they
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: don't have a dishwasher, I'm like, okay, did you really
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: hand wash? How well did you hand wash this? I
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: have to smell it.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: Now, I can tell the difference when you, like, drink
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: it out of a cup at a restaurant and sometimes
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: it smells funny. You know, you're like, ew, this water
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: is weird.
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: Yeah, well, certain soaps and stuff leave behind a scent.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: It's, like, not something I enjoy. I need you to
- 1:13:04Speaker 2: know that. Like, this is like a tick. It's like
- 1:13:07Speaker 2: an OCD thing.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: Like, if you see someone that you might like, do
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: you want to smell them?
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: Like, do you have to ask? For permission?
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: Do I have permission to sniff?
- 1:13:20Speaker 6: Right.
- 1:13:21Speaker 2: There are things I do like to smell. Like, I
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: want to go travel and, like, smell places, other places
- 1:13:28Speaker 2: I haven't.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: Like what? The Statue of Liberty?
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: I never thought about that. I mean, yeah, New York
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: has a smell. You know New York.
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: Is there a certain city you want to smell more
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: than others?
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: Yes, yes. I want to go to Athens, Greece. I
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: want to go to Athens, Greece.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: I thought you meant Athens, Texas.
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: The spices, the flowers there.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: And the ocean. I just want to go and experience
- 1:13:52Speaker 2: all the smells there.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: I never thought about that.
- 1:13:55Speaker 3: Like Hawaii has a smell. You can smell the flowers
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: and the trees. Really?
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: Mesquite has a smell.
- 1:14:01Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: Oak Cliff has a smell, too. Town East smells amazing
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: this time of the year. Wow. Well, you're making me
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: see life in a different way.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: I do appreciate the secret. Hopefully it doesn't bring you
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: any kind of weirdness because I don't want you to
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: think that you're weird. I don't think you're weird. I
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: just think that people have their things. And this is
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: your thing.
- 1:14:21Speaker 2: Yeah. I was blessed with a gift and a curse.
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: Pooh, come here. Let me sniff you. No!
- 1:14:25Speaker 3: Sniff these cookies.
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: Yeah, give me cookies to sniff. Thank you. Well, hey,
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: thank you so much. We appreciate you. And good luck
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: with smelling everything.
- 1:14:33Speaker 2: Thank you, guys. I appreciate it. Thanks for not judging.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: No, never. This is a non-judgment zone. Dirty little secret.
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: There you go. We'll do it again tomorrow morning, 730.
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: That's why, you know, Candace's nose is so sensitive. Yeah,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: it is. We can't wear certain cologne. We can't wear cologne.
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: Well, one spray is enough.
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: We can't wear deodorant.
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: Yes, you can. Please wear deodorant.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: We can't wear lotion. We can't wear lotion. She makes
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: sure that we don't use scent beads in our laundry.
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: That's not true.
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: Yeah, we can't wear anything.
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: It's fine. You don't need it.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: We do. What if we want a little squirt of
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: cologne to smell good?
- 1:15:06Speaker 3: Well, just one.
- 1:15:07Speaker 6: One is good.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: It's when you do, like, ten, it's just overboard.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: And it also depends on what cologne, too.
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: That's a good point.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: Like, I don't need Pooh, like, drenching himself in Axe
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: body spray.
- 1:15:16Speaker 3: Oh, no, please, no.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Oh, you don't like that night, Phoenix? No. That's not cologne.
- 1:15:21Speaker 8: No, it's not.
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: Body spray is different. Okay, Pooh, that's enough. Oh, my God.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: All right. Mix 102.9, Ability Kid, Candice Lopez, Producer Pooh.
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: We're about to get out of here. We'll see you later.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: Have a great day. I don't know what you got
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: going on today, but enjoy this weather. I mean, I
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: say enjoy it because it's going to be hot and sunny. Yeah.
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: Then storms tonight. This might be the last, like, 90-degree
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: crazy day we have.
- 1:15:46Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:15:46Speaker 3: I mean, tomorrow's supposed to be warm. We're done.
- 1:15:48Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: Oh, tomorrow's going to be warm, too?
- 1:15:49Speaker 3: Yeah. Until that cold front comes in.
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: Forget everything I just said.
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: Yeah, but it'll be.
- 1:15:54Speaker 5: Good because we can compare today and tomorrow to what
- 1:15:57Speaker 5: we have the rest of the week.
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: I don't know. You wanted to be a meteorologist, though,
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: when you were younger.
- 1:16:00Speaker 6: I did.
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I still do.
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: You're always wrong, though.
- 1:16:03Speaker 6: Me?
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: So you'd be perfect.
- 1:16:05Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: Yeah, you are. You told me the other day for
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: the walk it was going to be cloudy.
- 1:16:10Speaker 3: No, I wasn't the one that said it was going.
- 1:16:11Speaker 6: To be cloudy. Yes, you did.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: Yeah, Candace.
- 1:16:13Speaker 6: No.
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: You little cattle cat. No, I didn't say that. Yeah.
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: Sunny and hot.
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: You said it was going to be cloudy. I got
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: all excited, and then I burned my butt off all
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: day long because of Candace. What are you doing today, Candace?
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: Same.
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: I'm in my Instagram dinner recipe folder right now trying
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: to figure out what to make tonight. I like trying
- 1:16:29Speaker 5: new recipes and see if the boys will eat it.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: Oh, really?
- 1:16:31Speaker 3: No, these are going to be good. They're crunchy taco cups.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: Here we go. Crunchy what? Made with what?
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: No, it's just tortillas.
- 1:16:39Speaker 5: You just slice them and toast them, and then you
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: put them in the cupcake pan and fill it up
- 1:16:43Speaker 5: with the taco ingredients.
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: It's like a little taco cup.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: Why?
- 1:16:47Speaker 6: Why? All beans.
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: Because I got to think of different things.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: No, it'll be meat.
- 1:16:50Speaker 6: It'll be beef.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: It'll be one little piece of beef.
- 1:16:52Speaker 3: There might be some beans in there.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: You and Enzo, Eric, you and Enzo can split this
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: little wagyu.
- 1:16:56Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: Split this little. I'm hungry. I'll go to Candace's house.
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: I'd die of starvation. No, you wouldn't. No, we don't,
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: because you'll make just enough for everyone to eat. Yeah,
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: she proportions it out.
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: One pound of meat is all I need.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: Wait, one pound feeds all three of y'all?
- 1:17:11Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: You lying, Candace. I know you lying right now. I
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: know you lying. I've never seen him this passionate.
- 1:17:16Speaker 3: He doesn't eat that much.
- 1:17:18Speaker 6: At dinner.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: But, I mean, I could eat a pound of meat. So, Eric,
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: she's starving, Eric. There's no way. One pound feeds three people?
- 1:17:24Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: He is malnourished. Then I must be a big bad, because, well,
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: we know that. I'm just saying. Oh, breaking news. This
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: just in. Boo's a big bag. We know.
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: Bro.
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: One pound? She hit you with a bro. One pound?
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: I could eat one pound. I could eat a half
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: pound burger sometime.
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: Give me a heads up if you're coming over then.
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: We'll buy three pounds. Billy, you can eat as much
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: as I do. No, I don't eat a pound of meat.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: I mean, I don't. One sitting? I don't. I mean,
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: I go back for seconds. We know. More breaking news.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: This just in. Pooh goes back for seconds. We know, bro.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: I just don't want to let that go to waste. Oh,
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: that's it. All right. Well, good. Let us know. You
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: can bring us one if you want.
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: Well, if there's any left, I will.
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: There's not going to be. There won't be.
- 1:18:18Speaker 3: We eat it all.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: We know because you don't make enough.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: I do make enough.
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: You have no leftovers ever at your house. Ever. Because
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: you'll be like, I made you one taco cup, you
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: one taco cup, and you one taco cup.
- 1:18:30Speaker 7: You must use the muffin pan that has six little things,
- 1:18:33Speaker 7: six little muffins. We want leftovers. There should be leftovers.
- 1:18:36Speaker 3: Y'all don't want, you don't like leftovers. That's on your
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: hates list.
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but not your leftovers. I hate my leftovers. Oh, okay.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: That's fair. And what if Eric's like, I feel like
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: two taco cups.
- 1:18:44Speaker 3: Well, he's going to get two.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: No.
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: He's going to probably get four.
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: No, he won't. Four taco cups and then you'll eat two?
- 1:18:50Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: And then Ninja one?
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: Eat two.
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: He told me last time that he didn't have any
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: taco cups. He didn't have enough to eat.
- 1:18:57Speaker 3: We've never had taco cups.
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: Well, last time I saw Eric, he was looking thin.
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: And I was like, you need to feed him. He did.
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: He had flies around his eyes. Stop. Looking like National Geographic.
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: Stop.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: All right, we'll see you. You can feed Eric for
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: 89 cents a month. Just two taco cups a month.
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: All right, we'll see you tomorrow. Have a good day.
- 1:19:18Speaker 6: Bye. Bye.
