- 0:04Speaker 1: Welcome back to Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists.
- 0:07Speaker 1: This week is the pen mightier than the sword? You
- 0:11Speaker 1: might have to draw a cartoon to find out. This
- 0:15Speaker 1: week we're talking to New Yorker cartoonists.
- 0:18Speaker 2: The New Yorker has been one of the beacons of
- 0:23Speaker 2: artistic hope for almost one hundred years, maybe even more.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Look it up.
- 0:28Speaker 2: And these very very bright minds put pictures and words
- 0:34Speaker 2: together to make statements that are funny, amazing, brilliant, smart,
- 0:41Speaker 2: and political.
- 0:43Speaker 4: We gathered these artists around a table and took away
- 0:46Speaker 4: their pen, paper, typewriter, and laptop, and we just gave
- 0:50Speaker 4: them MIC's instead.
- 0:51Speaker 5: To talk process, upbringing and inspiration.
- 0:56Speaker 6: So get ready to look at a one panel picture
- 0:59Speaker 6: with a one line under it. Let's listen in. And
- 1:07Speaker 6: So I'm sitting at this dinner. I'm looking around the
- 1:09Speaker 6: room and I'm thinking this might be the most interesting
- 1:13Speaker 6: dinner I've ever said.
- 1:15Speaker 5: I mean, but did you say can we split the bill?
- 1:17Speaker 3: And so I bring it up.
- 1:18Speaker 6: I bring it up to them, I say, how do
- 1:20Speaker 6: we feel about how this bill goes down? Every single
- 1:23Speaker 6: one of them brings out their own card and suggests
- 1:25Speaker 6: they pay for it and we can flit wise them back,
- 1:28Speaker 6: because every single one of them has opened up a
- 1:30Speaker 6: new credit card and are looking for points. And I
- 1:33Speaker 6: just thought, you know this is this is funny.
- 1:38Speaker 5: There's something here, yes, yes.
- 1:42Speaker 3: Something inherently human about wanting points.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Yes, my boy, there's something very human about bonding points.
- 1:49Speaker 4: The dynamic change when someone puts down on a card
- 1:52Speaker 4: at a big, big, big dinner and then I like
- 1:55Speaker 4: the points. Yeah, and now you're noticing people next to it.
- 1:58Speaker 4: You go, no, I want the points at the.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Hadland point light bulb, light bulb, light bulb light be
- 2:04Speaker 2: go for it. Okay it okay. Someone is sitting on
- 2:06Speaker 2: their deathbed. Okay, there's the flat line. Somebody is dead,
- 2:10Speaker 2: and somebody goes, Hey, goes to the doctor, put this
- 2:12Speaker 2: on my card.
- 2:13Speaker 3: I could use the points.
- 2:18Speaker 4: His daughter goes. His daughter goes, Daddy, I love you.
- 2:21Speaker 4: I miss you so much. I think you would be
- 2:23Speaker 4: my dad. He looks up at it, and I goes,
- 2:25Speaker 4: use my miles for something good.
- 2:27Speaker 3: That's really good. It's good, and that's.
- 2:31Speaker 6: I'm thinking of a bunch of ants, a bunch of yeah.
- 2:33Speaker 6: And one of the ants has a leaf, and he goes,
- 2:35Speaker 6: can I put this on my card.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Oh, it's just I.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Mean, that's just it.
- 2:44Speaker 3: You.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Well, there's a beggar on the street, right, a beggar
- 2:48Speaker 1: on the street, panhandling, of course, for money and stuff.
- 2:51Speaker 1: And then someone comes up to him and offers him
- 2:54Speaker 1: a Capital one credit card and he says, what's the
- 2:58Speaker 1: a p R on that?
- 2:59Speaker 6: Okay, okay, that is good, that's good, funny.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Sorry, SI.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Went off during a conversation, going off.
- 3:16Speaker 6: Very very funny, very very good, Serri going off in
- 3:19Speaker 6: your pocket. There's time might be crazy to think about.
- 3:22Speaker 3: So I'm thinking. I'm thinking.
- 3:24Speaker 6: It's a bunch of leopards and one goes, sorry, my
- 3:27Speaker 6: Siri just went off, and the other ones are looking
- 3:29Speaker 6: at him and they've got to kill an antelope killed,
- 3:32Speaker 6: and the serial goes off. I mean, it's just right there.
- 3:35Speaker 6: It's just I love that.
- 3:37Speaker 4: A group of rocks sitting down, they're talking and then
- 3:40Speaker 4: one goes, what's that noise? And the rock goes, that
- 3:43Speaker 4: was my Seri, And then the other rock goes, seriously.
- 3:45Speaker 3: That's good, that's really funny.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Okay, get this gip this okay, okay, here here it goes. Okay.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Jack Nicholson in The Shining Opening the door. Okay, okay,
- 3:55Speaker 2: and I know where you're going, and I know where're okay.
- 3:58Speaker 2: He says, here's Johnny Shelley Deall holding phone up. Serious, says,
- 4:02Speaker 2: I'm sorry, I didn't quite get that. That's Jesus interest.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Interesting to copy Reagan the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
- 4:12Speaker 1: This mister Gorbachev tear down this wall. And mister Gorbachev
- 4:17Speaker 1: holds up his phone. Sorry, I didn't quite get that.
- 4:20Speaker 3: It's very similar. Different setup.
- 4:27Speaker 4: Donald Trump opening his Twitter, putting in something and sere
- 4:30Speaker 4: He goes, I'm sorry, I didn't quite want that.
- 4:32Speaker 6: Wow, wow, wow, interesting.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I really love.
- 4:38Speaker 4: We could do this for so long, and this together,
- 4:41Speaker 4: it's you're like a group Oily.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Feels good because we always have to do this separately.
- 4:48Speaker 2: And then we have to present. I mean at the
- 4:49Speaker 2: New Yorker, we present our panels to a room that
- 4:53Speaker 2: ends in darkness.
- 4:54Speaker 3: It goes.
- 4:54Speaker 5: It's a boardroom that goes bagels as far as we're
- 4:58Speaker 5: all in a light.
- 4:59Speaker 6: We all have our little photos, our little drawings and
- 5:01Speaker 6: our little lines, and one by one we present and present,
- 5:04Speaker 6: and it's a whole day.
- 5:05Speaker 2: It's a whole day. But we're important, you know, we're
- 5:07Speaker 2: the last fighters of democracy for the last ones.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Yes, and we're doing it and we're winning. I think
- 5:12Speaker 3: I think we're winning.
- 5:13Speaker 1: I think we're winning. We're winning hearts and minds.
- 5:15Speaker 4: As long as Ai doesn't have a seat at the table,
- 5:17Speaker 4: we're winning. Because I want Ai to do a cartoon try.
- 5:23Speaker 6: I would like to see Ai try the lightness of
- 5:26Speaker 6: American humor.
- 5:27Speaker 2: I would dare to show me Ai creating the same
- 5:31Speaker 2: artistic designs that we do in The New Yorker.
- 5:34Speaker 3: I can't imagine you.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Could play not without making it yellow, not without making
- 5:39Speaker 1: dying at all, Ai sickly yellow yellow.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Guess watermark computer made this, computer made this.
- 5:47Speaker 3: It's just it's not gonna look like because it's going
- 5:49Speaker 3: to have the watermark.
- 5:50Speaker 6: It's disgusting. You know, this is what I love about
- 5:55Speaker 6: working at the New York specifically with you guys. It's just,
- 5:58Speaker 6: you know, it's a meeting of the mind that you
- 6:00Speaker 6: can't capture on a computer. You can't capture it on
- 6:03Speaker 6: a phone, you can't capture it on your website.
- 6:06Speaker 3: It's something that's raw. It is something that's real.
- 6:09Speaker 6: It is something that's right there in front of you
- 6:11Speaker 6: that you can grab and you can taste, and I
- 6:13Speaker 6: am so inspired by each and every one of you
- 6:15Speaker 6: every single time I.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Think it harkens back to You know why why political
- 6:20Speaker 1: cartoons are so effective is they they harken back to
- 6:23Speaker 1: the days of picture books, right the first images we learn.
- 6:27Speaker 1: The way we learn about the world is through images.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And a politician can talk and talk and talk and
- 6:32Speaker 1: talk and talk all day long, and lord knows they do.
- 6:36Speaker 1: But when you take away the talking and it's just
- 6:40Speaker 1: an image of how futile they are, that is where
- 6:43Speaker 1: the hearts and minds move, truly, and a.
- 6:45Speaker 4: I can't do something like that because you know why
- 6:47Speaker 4: My favorite part about being a cartoonist for The New
- 6:49Speaker 4: Yorker is that we there's so much of our writing
- 6:54Speaker 4: that is based in fatigue. Yes in the frown. Have
- 6:59Speaker 4: you ever seen water a computer get tired on a Monday.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I dare you to show me the idea that the
- 7:05Speaker 2: Roba could understand being tired on a Monday. I can't
- 7:08Speaker 2: imagine that being able to happen.
- 7:09Speaker 4: AI isn't hungover. Is the AI doesn't have election fatigue.
- 7:13Speaker 4: AI doesn't doesn't have in laws coming for Christmas.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Somebody didn't just cough in AI's mouth on the subway.
- 7:20Speaker 2: You know that's what happened.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Okay, okay, okay, okay. Man man in the breakroom.
- 7:25Speaker 6: Man in the break room, filling his coffee, he goes, Mondays,
- 7:28Speaker 6: Am I right next to him, phone, see where youre going?
- 7:30Speaker 6: I'm sorry I didn't get that.
- 7:32Speaker 2: That's interesting that.
- 7:37Speaker 1: He didn't get mondaydays for you. Case of the Mondays
- 7:41Speaker 1: for you too. A woman's at a diner and she's
- 7:43Speaker 1: ordering a case of the Mondays.
- 7:49Speaker 6: I love that.
- 7:49Speaker 1: I love that there's something there.
- 7:51Speaker 2: What about what about? What about? What about this a judge?
- 7:54Speaker 2: What's the next case presenting the Mondays versus this woman?
- 7:59Speaker 5: Okay, okay, okay, deal a deal.
- 8:04Speaker 2: She goes, what's in that case? Opened it? Okay, So.
- 8:08Speaker 3: It's right there. I love it.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Very interesting. That also reds you this one. It's really
- 8:12Speaker 2: really good. So it's a couple of guys standing around
- 8:15Speaker 2: and they go, this is I miss water cooler talk?
- 8:17Speaker 2: And then then and then Ai is also in the
- 8:19Speaker 2: corner and said, I actually need that.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Because they take the water, they take the interesting. Interesting.
- 8:27Speaker 2: I love that. So rewind and watch that because you
- 8:30Speaker 2: could see and hit them and it was so exciting
- 8:33Speaker 2: to watch it wash over you.
- 8:34Speaker 7: Well, I've been thinking of this idea for a really
- 8:37Speaker 7: long No, no, go ahead, No, I just I mean,
- 8:41Speaker 7: i'd like to imagine how people react to our cartoons,
- 8:45Speaker 7: and I think it's something like this.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes, I want you sitting in front of
- 8:52Speaker 2: our magazine and going wow, absolutely what I want.
- 8:57Speaker 3: Should we say our names?
- 8:59Speaker 2: Yes, I thought about that.
- 9:02Speaker 6: I'm Clark Gregory and I've been working at The New
- 9:05Speaker 6: Yorker just shy of about ten years now, and just ten.
- 9:11Speaker 6: I'm tenured yard and I love it. It's fulfilling, it's interesting.
- 9:16Speaker 6: It's what I eat, it's what I drink, it's what
- 9:18Speaker 6: I do. I mean, I just love it.
- 9:19Speaker 5: Your job should be fulfilling and interesting.
- 9:22Speaker 3: And you should work with a great team. Should work
- 9:24Speaker 3: with a great team.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Absolutely. My name is Guy Forth and I am also
- 9:30Speaker 2: a cartoonist. I've been here for about fifteen years. I
- 9:32Speaker 2: think I came during Obama one. I was here during
- 9:35Speaker 2: Obama one and that was a great time to be
- 9:39Speaker 2: It was a wonderful. You were having a blast. And
- 9:43Speaker 2: I focus a lot on the kind of I would say,
- 9:47Speaker 2: lifestyle comics, you know, the one slice of life, and
- 9:50Speaker 2: I love animals, and I use a lot of animals
- 9:52Speaker 2: in what I do, and it's really fun because animals
- 9:55Speaker 2: hold up a mirror to what we do, and in
- 9:57Speaker 2: many many ways, animals kind of people if people were
- 10:02Speaker 2: allowed to do what they wanted. And so I like
- 10:06Speaker 2: to imagine a world that animals can exist, almost as
- 10:11Speaker 2: if the whole world has been shut down and humans
- 10:14Speaker 2: have died by some sort of virus and animals have
- 10:16Speaker 2: taken over, and they're still wearing our suits and our
- 10:19Speaker 2: shoes and driving our cars. It's almost like they're trying
- 10:22Speaker 2: to build a new civilization, and they have their own
- 10:25Speaker 2: wants and desires, and it's almost like there's something else
- 10:29Speaker 2: going on. And you know, if you connect all of mine,
- 10:31Speaker 2: you're going to find a real narratives love. Yeah, so
- 10:35Speaker 2: it's I've gotten a little bit into the lore of
- 10:37Speaker 2: my animals, and I certainly have it, and you can ask,
- 10:39Speaker 2: but you wouldn't be able to check the lore at
- 10:41Speaker 2: the top. But what I do know is that virus
- 10:43Speaker 2: X is coming back for the humans, and so you
- 10:45Speaker 2: need to keep an eye out. Because the humans return
- 10:47Speaker 2: in my comics, that means that the animals might be
- 10:50Speaker 2: at war and you might not see it. You might
- 10:51Speaker 2: to see in the window on the outside. But the animals,
- 10:54Speaker 2: the animals are certainly they know something is up and
- 10:56Speaker 2: they want to maintain control.
- 10:59Speaker 3: It is very interesting.
- 11:00Speaker 5: All in one married, all in one big breath.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, in one big breath.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I imagined all one big breath, and then a monkey
- 11:08Speaker 1: and a typewriter going, uh.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Did you get all that's funny? Yeah, it's really funny.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Cockleg goes, I'm sorry I didn't quite get that.
- 11:18Speaker 2: You guys can grab me anytime. My wife likes to
- 11:21Speaker 2: grab me breathe, grab my neck and force me to breathe.
- 11:25Speaker 2: So that's kinky if you need to do that any time.
- 11:27Speaker 3: No, it's not kink.
- 11:28Speaker 2: It's actually health because I'll pass out and she can't
- 11:31Speaker 2: help me pass out because I'm in charge of dinner
- 11:32Speaker 2: every night, so she'll go hungry if I pass out.
- 11:35Speaker 2: So so if you guys need to grab me.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Your wife is so frail. I'm so glad you're quick
- 11:39Speaker 1: for her.
- 11:39Speaker 3: She's so good for you.
- 11:41Speaker 5: Go for your marriage. I only have been married sixty
- 11:43Speaker 5: four years.
- 11:43Speaker 2: We've been married for sixty four years.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Unbelievable.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Yeah, and I love rich and I love it. I
- 11:49Speaker 2: love her. I love.
- 11:51Speaker 3: I even love the things I hate about her. I
- 11:52Speaker 3: love that I get to hate things about.
- 11:54Speaker 5: Her, and that's love, right.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, Wow, how grateful am I to know
- 11:58Speaker 2: you so much that there's things about you I want gone?
- 12:01Speaker 2: You know, I've seen the back room, I've seen the storage.
- 12:05Speaker 2: You know.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I love that.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Hello.
- 12:07Speaker 4: I am David Child, imagen. I have been working at
- 12:10Speaker 4: the New Yorker for about seventeen years. Do I want
- 12:14Speaker 4: to say I do a lot of the pop culture
- 12:17Speaker 4: stuff I do.
- 12:19Speaker 3: You've got your finger on the pulse. Thank you so much.
- 12:21Speaker 5: I do a bunch of whales in line for Hamilton going.
- 12:24Speaker 5: I heard good things.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that's an amazing that one very much.
- 12:29Speaker 6: I mean that when mega it wasn't a word that
- 12:32Speaker 6: we were using, but viral at the time. Yes, in
- 12:35Speaker 6: the office, a lot of grandmothers were posting that one
- 12:38Speaker 6: on their fridges.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Which, yeah, when you when you hear that, the scissors
- 12:42Speaker 2: came out and they're clipping it. I mean, that's that
- 12:45Speaker 2: was really huge.
- 12:47Speaker 1: A scissor, A scissor clip is what you want.
- 12:50Speaker 3: I mean, that's what we used to call clips, you know,
- 12:52Speaker 3: we call clip. Yeah, yeah, tell them about your music.
- 13:03Speaker 2: She doesn't have to tell you to.
- 13:07Speaker 3: I just love that.
- 13:08Speaker 5: I'm an old man who loves listening to the flute.
- 13:13Speaker 5: Your music.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Taste about taste, Well, these two were cubicle mates for
- 13:22Speaker 2: I would say two years, but then we couldn't because
- 13:24Speaker 2: he couldn't handle the flute. Was he was playing flute.
- 13:26Speaker 6: I was literally pulling my hair out, going get me
- 13:29Speaker 6: out of this flute. I mean all my comics with
- 13:31Speaker 6: the villain was the flute.
- 13:33Speaker 2: I literally, if you.
- 13:34Speaker 4: Turn the flute off, I can't draw. Yeah, And if
- 13:39Speaker 4: you turn the flute on, I draw. But yeah, my
- 13:42Speaker 4: little odd couple over there.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Hi, Hi, it was very you know, we started, you know, working.
- 13:48Speaker 8: My boy amoss, my boy a miss, my boy a
- 13:57Speaker 8: miss who hates the flute.
- 14:01Speaker 6: So yes, he calls me his boy amos. He'll sing
- 14:08Speaker 6: this little song and it's very special.
- 14:10Speaker 3: It's very cute.
- 14:11Speaker 6: It brings it to you to my eye every out
- 14:13Speaker 6: of nowhere. One day he turns to me and starts
- 14:16Speaker 6: singing that song and I say, you know, I say,
- 14:20Speaker 6: you know, what was that about?
- 14:22Speaker 3: And he just kept singing.
- 14:23Speaker 5: It's an old folk song that my family used to sing.
- 14:27Speaker 2: This is what you're missing. Whether way. If you're working
- 14:29Speaker 2: from home, this is what you're missing.
- 14:30Speaker 1: This is what cartoonist you should draw together.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Get together, Get together.
- 14:35Speaker 3: Working from home is a ruining office card. It's ruining.
- 14:40Speaker 5: It's a flag scored on the earth.
- 14:44Speaker 3: You wouldn't hear my boy amos.
- 14:46Speaker 5: You wouldn't.
- 14:47Speaker 2: You wouldn't get a zoo get a breakup room on
- 14:49Speaker 2: zoom to hear.
- 14:50Speaker 6: Them zoom old man turning to out of nowhere singing
- 14:54Speaker 6: my boy amos. For clarity, when I said, tell a
- 14:58Speaker 6: bunch of music, that's what.
- 14:59Speaker 3: I was talking about.
- 15:01Speaker 4: You were talking about me when I listen to my boy,
- 15:07Speaker 4: my boy miss hates the flute, I added the flute pot.
- 15:13Speaker 1: It's a little riff on an old family tradition.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Speaking of old family traditions, we have a legend. Here
- 15:19Speaker 2: we go.
- 15:20Speaker 3: It's very interesting. Let's get started with you. What did
- 15:25Speaker 3: you say, It's very interesting. Let's get started with you.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Okay, I felt like I missed something.
- 15:30Speaker 5: Hello like that, but like that, but there's nothing to miss.
- 15:36Speaker 2: There's almost nothing there. But it's almost like you're always missing.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Okay, Oh hello, my name is Ellen Penela Pano.
- 15:51Speaker 6: And I am a.
- 15:58Speaker 5: It's like a pineapple Milano.
- 16:00Speaker 3: It's so unique. It sounds real, but it just can't be.
- 16:09Speaker 1: You'll never guess my family's ancestry. I am, of course
- 16:13Speaker 1: a NEPO baby cartoonist. My father was Warren G. Harding Pelpano,
- 16:19Speaker 1: and he was the political cartoonist of the time. He
- 16:25Speaker 1: was the mean pen of the nineteen tens and everyone
- 16:31Speaker 1: called him that, of course, most of all us the family,
- 16:34Speaker 1: and so he was drawing things like you would not
- 16:38Speaker 1: believe at that time, stuff you really couldn't say. When
- 16:41Speaker 1: when FDR came out with the New Deal, he put
- 16:45Speaker 1: he drew a big boulder that said the New Deal
- 16:49Speaker 1: on it and had Sisiphus pushing it up the hill
- 16:52Speaker 1: and the hill set America's brilliant And how do you
- 16:55Speaker 1: do that something?
- 16:56Speaker 2: It's amazing when you show it.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Oh my god. I was four years old and I
- 17:02Speaker 1: locked eyes with that thing, and I went, that's what
- 17:04Speaker 1: I want to do well.
- 17:05Speaker 2: And I gotta say, panel Pano, it's been so fun now.
- 17:07Speaker 2: I mean, you've been here since we've all been here,
- 17:09Speaker 2: and in the office, and and I love when you
- 17:11Speaker 2: walk around and she says this thing that makes me

- 30:09Speaker 2: John Mitchell.
- 30:11Speaker 6: Was good.
- 30:12Speaker 3: It was good.
- 30:17Speaker 11: You know, I I know.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I will tell you my backstory because there is a
- 30:22Speaker 1: comic that I wrote first. Uh and I it's funny.
- 30:26Speaker 1: I showed the first draft to Ray Romano at at
- 30:32Speaker 1: a mosaic tile Lesson, Oh my god, it's pretty funny.
- 30:40Speaker 1: What was it was?
- 30:42Speaker 9: Well, it was.
- 30:45Speaker 10: You know, it was me.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Drawn in a circle.
- 30:52Speaker 5: You were a circle.
- 30:53Speaker 1: I was a circle. This was the first and this
- 30:57Speaker 1: was the first first comic I ever did that?
- 30:59Speaker 2: Really?
- 30:59Speaker 1: The that showed my my upbringing and I was falling
- 31:03Speaker 1: into a tube that said NEPO and the the sky
- 31:07Speaker 1: read societal expectations.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Wow, that's when did you make that? With that recent?
- 31:12Speaker 2: Was that one of your first comics? Well?
- 31:14Speaker 1: I made it at at my house.
- 31:22Speaker 2: And Ray Romano's so funny.
- 31:27Speaker 3: And where did you go lady?
- 31:29Speaker 2: Where did you go? Where did you go there? Where
- 31:35Speaker 2: did you go there?
- 31:40Speaker 3: We saw you disappeared for a second.
- 31:45Speaker 2: You got lost?
- 31:46Speaker 1: Well, yeah, I got lost?
- 31:47Speaker 5: What about all of you?
- 31:48Speaker 2: Well, I would say that I would describe my upbringing as.
- 31:54Speaker 6: You know.
- 31:54Speaker 2: It's a comic. And let's just say it is a
- 32:00Speaker 2: piece of bread walking into a loaf like it's joining
- 32:05Speaker 2: a loaf a slice of bread like.
- 32:08Speaker 5: A bigger family.
- 32:09Speaker 2: And it stops and it says, excuse me, I was
- 32:12Speaker 2: told there'd be a gluten free option for a living.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Very about society, Very funny about society, and it's very
- 32:22Speaker 1: the way.
- 32:24Speaker 2: It didn't quite fit in my family. From the very beginning,
- 32:28Speaker 2: We're focus on the face. You know, these are meat
- 32:30Speaker 2: and potato people, people in the middle of the country,
- 32:33Speaker 2: you know, and and these people they're worried about football.
- 32:36Speaker 2: You know, they were worried about you know, things like that,
- 32:38Speaker 2: and I'm saying, excuse me, excuse me. You know, David
- 32:42Speaker 2: Sedaris is going to be doing a Tecto tutorial at
- 32:46Speaker 2: the library and very very unique in detail. But I
- 32:53Speaker 2: was like that they don't care about this kind of stuff,
- 32:55Speaker 2: and I need to be somewhere where people understand it.
- 32:58Speaker 3: It's for me to be at the New Yorker to
- 33:01Speaker 3: find the people that understand me.
- 33:04Speaker 2: It's a bomb. It's a boom, I mean. And to
- 33:06Speaker 2: know that our audience is into us, you know, it's
- 33:08Speaker 2: I finally feel like who I was. My japes and
- 33:12Speaker 2: jeers they're understood here and I get to have japes
- 33:15Speaker 2: and jeers. And I had japes and jeers at home
- 33:17Speaker 2: and they were called complaints and and wow and frustration frustrations,
- 33:21Speaker 2: and it's like no, no, no, I was just regulated
- 33:23Speaker 2: because I was in the wrong place.
- 33:24Speaker 5: Yes, regulator.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Now I'm good. Now I'm in the open air and
- 33:27Speaker 2: I'm having like.
- 33:28Speaker 4: My upbringing is kind of similar where I walk into
- 33:30Speaker 4: a Jewish deli and everyone they go, what's your number,
- 33:32Speaker 4: what's your number?
- 33:33Speaker 5: And I take a number and it has like a
- 33:36Speaker 5: beautiful painting on it.
- 33:38Speaker 2: The number itself as a painting.
- 33:39Speaker 5: No my ticket.
- 33:40Speaker 4: Oh, I pull a ticket and the person next to
- 33:43Speaker 4: me's got a number four, person NeXT's got number sixteen.
- 33:46Speaker 5: And I have a sunset, and.
- 33:47Speaker 1: You get a sunset. And this happens to you every time.
- 33:50Speaker 5: Well, this is my cartoon number.
- 33:52Speaker 4: Oh yes, yes, yes that like you say, something different
- 33:55Speaker 4: is that I'm living in a world in which my
- 33:58Speaker 4: numbers all picked.
- 34:01Speaker 5: And my my thoughts are paintings, and I don't know how.
- 34:08Speaker 3: I don't know how to fit in with the line exactly,
- 34:11Speaker 3: you know, I too come to mind for me, you know.
- 34:13Speaker 3: One is it's a puzzle.
- 34:15Speaker 6: It's a puzzle missing one piece and you can see
- 34:17Speaker 6: it's just it looks like a regular puzzle piece missing.
- 34:21Speaker 6: And then another puzzle comes up and it's all zig zaggy,
- 34:24Speaker 6: definitely not gonna fit. And he's like, uh, this isn't
- 34:27Speaker 6: gonna work. And for me, like because I never fit in,
- 34:31Speaker 6: you know, I always felt like. The other one is
- 34:33Speaker 6: frogs frogs detective frog. One frog lying on the ground
- 34:40Speaker 6: under it, it says murder. She croaked that my mother
- 34:44Speaker 6: was killed at a very young age, right right, And
- 34:48Speaker 6: it affected me deeply and ever since that moment, I
- 34:51Speaker 6: feel like my life had.
- 34:52Speaker 3: Been on a path.
- 34:53Speaker 2: And I'm sorry I said that was funny, but it was.
- 34:55Speaker 3: It was funny.
- 34:57Speaker 5: Tragedy. Tragedy is really funny, funny.
- 34:59Speaker 3: I would love for you guys to giggle and interesting.
- 35:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I have I have a cartoon of Shakespeare poconal
- 35:07Speaker 4: and you see it's a production of Hamlet and everyone's
- 35:09Speaker 4: on the ground blood and he goes, why are you laughing?
- 35:12Speaker 7: Oh?
- 35:13Speaker 3: Thank you's really good. You know I was at the
- 35:15Speaker 3: Jeff Frost roast of Malala.
- 35:20Speaker 1: I can't believe NPR did.
- 35:21Speaker 5: That was a free event event.
- 35:25Speaker 1: That's really nice.
- 35:28Speaker 5: I'm glad it's free. Tune God, we look so hot, Jeremy.
- 35:38Speaker 3: Do you think there's a reason why I can't figure
- 35:40Speaker 3: it out? Maybe I have one idea though.
- 35:42Speaker 2: It's March.
- 35:45Speaker 6: Get our exclusive a winter beanie, get our exclusive sweatshirt.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Yeah, we also have hats and toats, so much fun stuff.
- 35:55Speaker 5: We saw merch.
- 35:56Speaker 2: It's real, all of it. Go buy it. We'll put
- 35:58Speaker 2: the link in the bile right now.
- 36:02Speaker 6: Pre Thursdays. One of the days was Jeff Ross Rose
- 36:05Speaker 6: Malala and we were all laughing and going, you know what,
- 36:08Speaker 6: pain is laughter, laughters. You want to get through it.
- 36:12Speaker 2: That's amazing, that's beautiful. I mean, I think we have
- 36:15Speaker 2: all between us probably made thousands of comics. I think
- 36:18Speaker 2: we should. I think we need to give ourselves a
- 36:21Speaker 2: pat on the back and talk about our favorites and.
- 36:23Speaker 5: Some of the other favorites, favorites telling each other. Let's
- 36:28Speaker 5: jump in my favorite of yours.
- 36:31Speaker 4: Oh don't is the girl holding up the magazine and
- 36:36Speaker 4: she looks over at somebody and she's like you hear
- 36:38Speaker 4: Vogue says, boyfriends, it's embarrassing to have a boyfriend. And
- 36:43Speaker 4: and the old man looks over and he looks at
- 36:45Speaker 4: her and goes, lady, I'm reading Ephesians.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Yeah, just over that last week, right, Yes, I came
- 36:52Speaker 3: with that last week.
- 36:53Speaker 2: And and and if anyone's curious, that happens in the
- 36:55Speaker 2: before times, before virus X takes over, if it kills
- 36:59Speaker 2: the humans. This was flashback, so the dogs and the people,
- 37:03Speaker 2: they are still in the normal traditions, but the religion
- 37:05Speaker 2: that was kind of easter because God is involved with
- 37:07Speaker 2: fiber SX, and I haven't it kind of revealed why.
- 37:10Speaker 5: But I'm loving where that story is going.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Thank you, And I'm glad you.
- 37:14Speaker 2: See the story.
- 37:15Speaker 3: You don't see the story, that's okay, there's a way
- 37:17Speaker 3: in any single way.
- 37:19Speaker 2: But I want to let you know that the dog
- 37:20Speaker 2: with the white hair, the dog with the white tuft,
- 37:23Speaker 2: that keep an eye on that one, because that one
- 37:26Speaker 2: knows the prophecy. So just keep an eye.
- 37:28Speaker 1: I'm like the one where there's two butterflies in a
- 37:31Speaker 1: chrysalis and one of them goes, brother, this is taking forever.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, And that's the final frame of the saga.
- 37:39Speaker 2: So it ends there. So that's the flash forward to
- 37:45Speaker 2: what the actual end of the end is. It's going
- 37:47Speaker 2: to start with bugs and and it ends with bugs,
- 37:49Speaker 2: because as Earth did itself. Personally, I believe that the
- 37:53Speaker 2: Earth began with bugs and a will in with bugs. No,
- 38:01Speaker 2: I couldn't. Oh, I'm too bored, so hard and I
- 38:08Speaker 2: just personally, I don't know. For you and your house,
- 38:11Speaker 2: whatever you believe is fine. I believe the Earth has
- 38:13Speaker 2: started with bugs, and that's crazy.
- 38:14Speaker 5: I believe the world, the Earth started with fungus and
- 38:17Speaker 5: will end with fungus.
- 38:18Speaker 2: That's very interesting.
- 38:19Speaker 1: I believe the Earth started with one man saying, how
- 38:22Speaker 1: about we elect a democracy?
- 38:27Speaker 3: Oh, very good, that's very good.
- 38:30Speaker 2: I do love yours. Your political ones are so so so.
- 38:35Speaker 3: Interesting. I love the one that it's the Thanksgiving Feast
- 38:39Speaker 3: and it's it's uh. I think this was Biden's Thanksgiving
- 38:43Speaker 3: feast and it was ice cream.
- 38:45Speaker 2: It was well, yes, and then all the ice cream
- 38:47Speaker 2: flavors wore bloat, a government bloat.
- 38:51Speaker 6: It was.
- 38:52Speaker 1: It was different departments, regulations.
- 38:57Speaker 2: And he said, I'm full, but I why how could
- 38:59Speaker 2: I I still keep eating even though I'm full.
- 39:03Speaker 3: That's what it says.
- 39:04Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, I love sticking it to And you
- 39:07Speaker 1: could really do that to any administration.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Have you gotten calls from presidents at all?
- 39:11Speaker 3: Have you ever gotten a call from a president?
- 39:13Speaker 1: I got a call from h. W. Bush one time,
- 39:16Speaker 1: h W. And he said, very funny, He said, very funny,
- 39:21Speaker 1: and then he said you got me.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Okay.
- 39:23Speaker 3: Oh this is the great one where it was h W.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Golfing on the.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Golf, golfing on the goal bomb and the ball said
- 39:33Speaker 1: tax dollars.
- 39:34Speaker 5: Oh God, that hit that hits that just that hits
- 39:39Speaker 5: such a.
- 39:41Speaker 6: It was like he was hitting the tax dollars right
- 39:43Speaker 6: into the golf.
- 39:44Speaker 1: He got him Saturday golf and I liked I like
- 39:51Speaker 1: to think I moved the needle.
- 39:52Speaker 2: Yeah you did, I think. I mean he didn't get
- 39:56Speaker 2: re elected and that comic didn't come out.
- 39:58Speaker 1: I feel like those two things both happened.
- 40:01Speaker 3: You can't say it didn't help it didn't hurt you.
- 40:04Speaker 1: You can't say I can't say one way or the other.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Can I say? One of my favorites of your own,
- 40:08Speaker 3: of my own is no good good good? Okay.
- 40:11Speaker 6: So it's just recent and it's about Ai, and it's
- 40:14Speaker 6: all the sea world and in the whales are in
- 40:18Speaker 6: a tank and there's no water and it says closed
- 40:23Speaker 6: for AI and they're flapping around for me because it's funny,
- 40:30Speaker 6: but it's visceral because people are saying why it takes
- 40:33Speaker 6: a second, why why you know?
- 40:34Speaker 3: Why? Why is there?
- 40:36Speaker 6: You know?
- 40:36Speaker 3: Why is there?
- 40:37Speaker 2: You know?
- 40:37Speaker 3: Why is there?
- 40:38Speaker 10: What?
- 40:38Speaker 6: You know?
- 40:38Speaker 3: Why is there no water?
- 40:39Speaker 8: You know?
- 40:40Speaker 3: Why is there no water?
- 40:41Speaker 1: You know?
- 40:42Speaker 2: Water?
- 40:42Speaker 3: Waste the waters? The water it's going to Ai.
- 40:45Speaker 1: And I also want to commend you. You did a
- 40:48Speaker 1: wonderful comic about iPad babies, Thank You, where there was
- 40:53Speaker 1: a bunch of babies with an iPad and they said, sorry,
- 40:59Speaker 1: my blocks aren't working. They need to be charged.
- 41:03Speaker 3: Interesting. That was very mean, very It's just the way
- 41:08Speaker 3: that we.
- 41:08Speaker 1: We don't play with physical objects anymore. We have to
- 41:11Speaker 1: put them on a screen and recreate them. It's very astute.
- 41:16Speaker 4: A cartoon, your cartoon when you have a baby, pick
- 41:20Speaker 4: up a crayon and it says, what app is this?
- 41:23Speaker 11: Yes?
- 41:24Speaker 2: That was one very good. I mean, and you're a
- 41:27Speaker 2: new dad, right, how is that going?
- 41:28Speaker 3: I'm a new dad? Bad?
- 41:29Speaker 2: Okay?
- 41:30Speaker 3: Crying all the time? Taken it to sleep studies.
- 41:33Speaker 5: It must be events. You make it feel better.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Yes.
- 41:35Speaker 6: So there is a is a sleep Put your Baby
- 41:38Speaker 6: to Sleep hosted by Gracie May Awesome in Gramercy Park
- 41:43Speaker 6: that we've attended.
- 41:45Speaker 3: She does not know how to put it. I gotta
- 41:48Speaker 3: send you.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Is doing a mobile building. She's doing mobile buildings.
- 41:56Speaker 4: Shed, the shed and the and the bedding company Parachute
- 42:00Speaker 4: has a podcast, Come now, that's Asleep with Me pod.
- 42:04Speaker 2: I regret?
- 42:06Speaker 6: So can I say one of my favorite things about
- 42:08Speaker 6: you is you take a risk and sometimes make your
- 42:11Speaker 6: sentences very very long.
- 42:13Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 42:13Speaker 4: I mean my Lily Allen butt plug one that came
- 42:15Speaker 4: out this weekend, I felt like it didn't really land.
- 42:18Speaker 5: Let's talk about failures.
- 42:19Speaker 4: Right, because let's talk about our failures. Because I wrote
- 42:21Speaker 4: the sometimes the caption. As a cartoonist, you can't you
- 42:25Speaker 4: can't explain the joke. You can only support the joke.
- 42:28Speaker 3: You know, you can't write.
- 42:29Speaker 2: I mean, I will kind of describe this because I
- 42:32Speaker 2: championed it. I thought it was fantastic culture and I
- 42:35Speaker 2: was trying to get a butt plug with Lily Allen's
- 42:38Speaker 2: face on the top of it, and then it said
- 42:40Speaker 2: of now available on iTunes on the bottom. That was
- 42:43Speaker 2: the whole comic.
- 42:44Speaker 1: And I think people, you know, ascribe their own meaning
- 42:46Speaker 1: to that.
- 42:47Speaker 4: I think she's selling butt plugs with this album. I'm
- 42:50Speaker 4: not even joking. She definitely is. It's like a product,
- 42:54Speaker 4: the march line she's got.
- 42:55Speaker 3: So you just kind of copied it.
- 42:56Speaker 4: Well, I went, that's hilarious. And sometimes I think, especially
- 42:59Speaker 4: with all President and see, you don't have to do much.
- 43:01Speaker 4: You just have to show life. I don't even have
- 43:03Speaker 4: to write that big of a punchline.
- 43:05Speaker 5: And go this is real.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, you know what I mean. Absolutely, But I.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Dropped the ball with that one. No, no, no, no.
- 43:12Speaker 2: We have our failures, but the thing is it comes
- 43:15Speaker 2: out every single week month, It comes out a lot.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Well, we're all in rotation, all in rotation, and we
- 43:25Speaker 1: come out hour hour.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Look, we just we show.
- 43:31Speaker 5: We don't even know which ones get Greenland.
- 43:32Speaker 2: No, we don't. We just see them. We literally we
- 43:35Speaker 2: call each other. It's like a cast let's being posted
- 43:36Speaker 2: for a high school theater. Literally written made many comments about.
- 43:39Speaker 4: We have the oldest man you can find with the
- 43:41Speaker 4: worst posture you've ever seen, hunched over and it's our editor,
- 43:46Speaker 4: and he picks.
- 43:47Speaker 3: Which ones go yes, and we don't know.
- 43:49Speaker 2: No, we don't know.
- 43:50Speaker 5: And the man doesn't speak.
- 43:51Speaker 1: No, he does not say a word I I you know, yeah,
- 43:55Speaker 1: go please please.
- 43:56Speaker 6: Well I ain't one of my biggest failures. Sometimes I
- 43:59Speaker 6: tend to write too much, you know, over explain. I'll
- 44:02Speaker 6: have two dogs and they'll capture on be These are
- 44:05Speaker 6: two dogs. The first dog stands for the Democracy Democratic Party.
- 44:08Speaker 6: The second party dog stands for the Green Party. There's
- 44:11Speaker 6: a ball in the middle, and that's gender norms. And
- 44:14Speaker 6: then they're fighting over the ball. And that's what I'm
- 44:16Speaker 6: trying to say. And it's and I'll get some feedback
- 44:19Speaker 6: that it's just you're not actually making a joke, you're
- 44:20Speaker 6: just kind of describing.
- 44:21Speaker 5: A picture, you say, don't bring sand to the beach.
- 44:25Speaker 3: Don't bring sand to the beach is already sand.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's tough and sometimes, you know, the
- 44:33Speaker 2: best reaction we've done it earlier is going, oh, but
- 44:36Speaker 2: sometimes all laugh for us is huh and I'll take you.
- 44:41Speaker 3: That's what I want.
- 44:42Speaker 1: We're doing it for the huh.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 44:44Speaker 5: Oh, you know what I do it for good. I
- 44:46Speaker 5: do it for the I get it.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fun. I did one that I was really
- 44:50Speaker 2: really proud of. It was it was so fun. It
- 44:52Speaker 2: was it was a dog at dinner eating food. The
- 44:55Speaker 2: cat had just served it, and it said tastes like shit.
- 44:59Speaker 2: I love it. It was it was the dogs say
- 45:02Speaker 2: shit in the well. I tried. The old man took
- 45:05Speaker 2: it out. He replaced it with carrots, and I said
- 45:08Speaker 2: that that is literally going to throw off my timeline
- 45:11Speaker 2: and now I have to literally find a new sideline
- 45:14Speaker 2: because ship is actually the antidote in my story.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Different because you have a whole plan for this, the
- 45:20Speaker 1: whole frustrating.
- 45:21Speaker 2: It's so frustrating.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Yeah, you're doing something schizophrenic with this.
- 45:27Speaker 2: Honor it.
- 45:28Speaker 5: Yeah, Okay, I have a question.
- 45:33Speaker 4: We should talk that we're trying this year in twenty
- 45:36Speaker 4: twenty six, we're trying to institute collapse.
- 45:39Speaker 5: We're going to work together on stuff, yes, collabing, collabing.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Because we all I write, I write the book and
- 45:48Speaker 1: the pictures. Ye, so, and I know a lot of
- 45:51Speaker 1: you do as well. So it's it's interesting. So we're
- 45:54Speaker 1: going to try something where one of us does the
- 45:57Speaker 1: picture and the other person captions.
- 45:59Speaker 4: Righty, I got I'll do the picture and then somebody
- 46:01Speaker 4: do the caption and then we'll round Robin.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Okay, okay, sorry I hit his knee.
- 46:07Speaker 5: You okay, go ahead, amos, my amous, my amous.
- 46:15Speaker 1: You can't be working from home.
- 46:17Speaker 3: Go back to the office.
- 46:18Speaker 1: Go back to the office.
- 46:19Speaker 5: Go back to the back to the office.
- 46:21Speaker 1: You're missing out on life.
- 46:23Speaker 5: Okay.
- 46:23Speaker 4: It's a tree with one branch that says judicial, another
- 46:28Speaker 4: branch says uh, electoral, and the other branch says presidential.
- 46:34Speaker 5: But that branch is fallen, and the.
- 46:38Speaker 1: Caption says, well, this certainly is and how this is
- 46:42Speaker 1: supposed to work.
- 46:44Speaker 5: That is very good, because the branch can't be on
- 46:50Speaker 5: the ground. It can't be like, it can't be like Okay, okay,
- 47:00Speaker 5: really hard, give me one I can make up.
- 47:04Speaker 3: Okay, here's one for you. Okay.
- 47:06Speaker 1: A little boy is holding an ice cream and a
- 47:08Speaker 1: bigger boy is holding a bigger ice cream, but his
- 47:12Speaker 1: top ice cream is falling on the ground and he's
- 47:14Speaker 1: looking at it. And then there's a man with a
- 47:17Speaker 1: cell phone in the background. Okay, And then they're on
- 47:22Speaker 1: and there and they're on the sidewalk.
- 47:24Speaker 5: Go okay. My caption is for the man on his phone. Yes,
- 47:32Speaker 5: is anybody an a MC stubs member anymore interesting?
- 47:40Speaker 6: And the ice cream ties in y you're actually considered
- 47:44Speaker 6: that people are going to the movies.
- 47:47Speaker 4: Well, what I'm trying to talk about is how these
- 47:49Speaker 4: AMC stub members aren't really seeing what's happening in front
- 47:51Speaker 4: of them, and they just keep talking about AMC stump.
- 47:54Speaker 2: That's interesting.
- 47:55Speaker 3: I don't that's super universal.
- 47:57Speaker 1: What's about not being present?
- 48:01Speaker 5: I love glabbing.
- 48:07Speaker 6: I think.
- 48:11Speaker 2: One Okay. It is a mouse in a coat putting
- 48:14Speaker 2: his hat up, entering his house, putting it on the
- 48:18Speaker 2: coat rack, putting his suitcase down. And in the foreground
- 48:22Speaker 2: is the wife stirring a bowl, kind of looking at
- 48:26Speaker 2: him as he enters.
- 48:29Speaker 6: And and and and in the caption, it's very exciting
- 48:34Speaker 6: what it was about to happen. He goes, honey, I
- 48:37Speaker 6: lost my job.
- 48:39Speaker 3: Rats, So it.
- 48:44Speaker 2: Doesn't quite work into the narrative, just just because that
- 48:47Speaker 2: they don't really work the same way that humans worked, and.
- 48:53Speaker 3: How do they work in the after times?
- 48:55Speaker 2: They don't call it a job because they actually enjoy
- 48:57Speaker 2: labor because it's not something they've ever done before.
- 48:59Speaker 3: So you're enjoying work. But that's why that's one of
- 49:03Speaker 3: the down they call the job. What do they call
- 49:05Speaker 3: their job?
- 49:05Speaker 2: Oh, they don't call it anything, so they don't call
- 49:09Speaker 2: it a job. They don't know as job is English, right,
- 49:11Speaker 2: and they don't use English. There, give him a drunks.
- 49:13Speaker 6: We can move on from okay, okay, so this is
- 49:16Speaker 6: uh okay. It's it's a donkey and a man is
- 49:21Speaker 6: on top of the donkey and they're riding and a
- 49:24Speaker 6: man in front is pulling the donkey and there's a
- 49:26Speaker 6: big cliff that they're walking towards.
- 49:29Speaker 2: M it's the man behind being said, Ah, I heard
- 49:38Speaker 2: this tour fell off a cliff.
- 49:43Speaker 3: Very good, interesting and good donkey ass.
- 49:47Speaker 4: It's really literal his donkey ass donkey is ass maybe
- 49:51Speaker 4: a BBL thing.
- 49:52Speaker 5: Oh, that's very modern, very modern.
- 49:56Speaker 3: Maybe it's like, uh, looks like junk in the trunk.
- 50:00Speaker 3: That's good, that's good.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I love that we collab we really we and I
- 50:05Speaker 1: think it'll make our collaborations even stronger if we hang
- 50:09Speaker 1: out outside of work. I am going to a sitar
- 50:13Speaker 1: lesson Lynn Manuel Miranda sitar and he is teaching everybody
- 50:24Speaker 1: for free times square.
- 50:27Speaker 4: Square, and I can't go because I'm going to an
- 50:31Speaker 4: event where David Archiletta is helping gay kids.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Or wow, that sounds.
- 50:41Speaker 6: Wow.
- 50:41Speaker 3: How does that event work? Wow? Well, I unfortunately won't
- 50:45Speaker 3: be able to make it.
- 50:46Speaker 2: I'm seeing Jason Alexander read Miranda July at Tavern on
- 50:50Speaker 2: the Green.
- 50:50Speaker 5: Oh my god, it's a charity event. How much is
- 50:54Speaker 5: a ticket?
- 50:55Speaker 3: Forty dollars get in there. This is the cheapest tavern
- 50:59Speaker 3: has ever been. I would love to make it, but
- 51:05Speaker 3: I sadly cannot.
- 51:14Speaker 6: Eminem is sitting down in conversation while reading Americana to
- 51:21Speaker 6: a group of fourth graders.
- 51:23Speaker 3: Wow, wow, about this wonderful?
- 51:28Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 51:29Speaker 1: I might try and stop by that, but unfortunately all
- 51:33Speaker 1: Like Alexandra Acassio Cortez is doing a free reading of
- 51:38Speaker 1: Life of Pie at the Googenheim.
- 51:44Speaker 5: It's really good.
- 51:45Speaker 2: I wish I could go.
- 51:46Speaker 4: I can't get over to the Google time and time
- 51:48Speaker 4: because the Google tim and time because I'll be seeing
- 51:51Speaker 4: rag time with a bunch of kids who who won
- 51:56Speaker 4: make a Wish Foundation and John.
- 52:00Speaker 2: They want they want it the best essay. That's really wonderful.
- 52:08Speaker 2: I really wish I could make it. I'm going to
- 52:10Speaker 2: be joining Peter Sag and Marie Condo to reorganize the
- 52:14Speaker 2: Metropolitan Museum of Art.
- 52:16Speaker 3: We're getting rid of every painting that doesn't spark joy.
- 52:21Speaker 5: Phil Collins is doing that at the Loop.
- 52:23Speaker 2: That's fantastic. Oh, that's fantastic. I'll have to join. That's great.
- 52:28Speaker 2: I mean, finally it's time to refix these buildings.
- 52:31Speaker 3: Yes, literally, I know I would love.
- 52:42Speaker 1: It.
- 52:46Speaker 3: Sesame Street, Oh Mary.
- 52:52Speaker 5: Very do you guys have tickets for the l A
- 52:56Speaker 5: P d H Live collab Like the.
- 53:00Speaker 2: Drop, they're shooting the books, they're.
- 53:06Speaker 1: Shooting the books, but they're playing classical music whole time. Well,
