Ector County ISD and Midland ISD are celebrating major education wins as both districts climb out of the “D” zone—Ector County even earned its first “C” in two years, avoiding state takeover, while Midland has steadily improved for three years straight. Ector now boasts seven “A” rated schools, and Midland’s secondary schools have gone D/F-free for the first time. But with nine “D” and two “F” campuses still on the books in Ector, the work isn’t done—and both districts have until September 11 to appeal their ratings.
