- 2:19Speaker 2: that being said, thank you for tuning in Sports Done Right.
- 2:22Speaker 2: In a little bit, we are going to have on
- 2:25Speaker 2: our special guest Michelle Bron from the Minnesota Vixen. She
- 2:28Speaker 2: coaches the offensive line not only there, but Elver for
- 2:33Speaker 2: the men's team at Augsburg as well. So this is
- 2:36Speaker 2: gonna be a fun interview. We're gonna talk about obviously
- 2:39Speaker 2: the Minnesota Vixen and their championship season, but also you'll
- 2:43Speaker 2: learn a little bit about coach Bron as well and
- 2:46Speaker 2: her background in the sport and she's been there since
- 2:48Speaker 2: the beginning as well. And you know, I'll get into
- 2:53Speaker 2: it a little bit later, but just great quality of
- 2:56Speaker 2: play from the women in this league, and I'm telling
- 2:59Speaker 2: you check them out. Look at the highlights, go to
- 3:02Speaker 2: their website. You will be surprised. They're sticking and licking
- 3:06Speaker 2: out there. Man. Some cold hits, some great plays, some
- 3:09Speaker 2: good just everything. So shout out to the Vixen. And
- 3:13Speaker 2: speaking of football, there is another football team in the
- 3:17Speaker 2: state of Minnesota and Minnesota Vikings. Let's just get into
- 3:20Speaker 2: this here before we get to our interview with coach Brown.
- 3:26Speaker 2: So they go with Kyler Murray. Now, I don't think
- 3:30Speaker 2: most people are surprised by what you hear either in
- 3:33Speaker 2: the media, what you read online, whatever. Was it a
- 3:38Speaker 2: true competition all that stuff. That's just for you know,
- 3:42Speaker 2: for like people like me to talk on podcasts and
- 3:46Speaker 2: the radio show host to talk about this and that
- 3:50Speaker 2: decision has been made, and let's just start with JJ.
- 3:55Speaker 2: He's saying all the right things, as you can expect.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I mean, sure, he's disappointed, he said that, but he's
- 4:02Speaker 2: going out there and just doing what he can to
- 4:05Speaker 2: be ready to play. So, you know, definitely props to
- 4:09Speaker 2: JJ for saying all the right things. Of course, now
- 4:15Speaker 2: that Kyler Murray's been named the starter, we got to
- 4:19Speaker 2: see what he's got, so A he's got to play
- 4:22Speaker 2: some in this first game coming up here this weekend
- 4:25Speaker 2: with the Giants. And because you know, not a lot
- 4:29Speaker 2: of people have been sold on Kyler as well. You know,
- 4:32Speaker 2: definitely has the pedigree, the resume had, you know, that
- 4:36Speaker 2: stretch of two three really good years and you know, regress.
- 4:42Speaker 2: But I just think that he was chosen because A,
- 4:47Speaker 2: he's the better quarterback. B. Was it, like I said,
- 4:53Speaker 2: was it truly a competition? Probably not in my opinion,
- 4:57Speaker 2: just my opinion, I think they may have called to
- 5:01Speaker 2: the competition to say, hey, let's motivate JJ to you know,
- 5:05Speaker 2: see what he can do. I mean, he is going
- 5:08Speaker 2: in his third year as well, so you know you
- 5:10Speaker 2: have to see progress at that point, no matter with
- 5:14Speaker 2: the injuries and the timeout and all that stuff. But
- 5:17Speaker 2: Kyler Murray is in. So what I would like to
- 5:20Speaker 2: see from the Minnesota Vikings is for Kyler to play
- 5:23Speaker 2: maybe a quarter, a little bit into the second quarter
- 5:28Speaker 2: of this weekend's game with the New York Giants. You
- 5:32Speaker 2: gotta get Kyler acclimated because from if you believe again
- 5:36Speaker 2: from what you hear from certain people that are out
- 5:39Speaker 2: at training camp and seeing this it's not like Kyler's
- 5:44Speaker 2: blowing the way the field with his play. I don't
- 5:49Speaker 2: know if the truth to that. I you know, I'm
- 5:52Speaker 2: just a podcast guy, got a real job, can't hang
- 5:56Speaker 2: out there, can't see it for myself. But that's just
- 5:59Speaker 2: kind of what people are saying there as well. So
- 6:03Speaker 2: and you know, to be fair, JJ definitely had some fans,
- 6:06Speaker 2: you know, in the press and in the podcast world
- 6:09Speaker 2: for him to be the starter. So with that being
- 6:13Speaker 2: said too, I think that you know, it's here we
- 6:20Speaker 2: go again with the Vikings in this quarterback conundrum. It's
- 6:23Speaker 2: just it's always something we just can't seem to really
- 6:27Speaker 2: get a solid stretch. I mean, you know, some people
- 6:31Speaker 2: may argue Kirk Cousins when his tenure here, but we
- 6:35Speaker 2: still couldn't get over to hump with him. So it
- 6:40Speaker 2: is going to be very interesting to see how this
- 6:43Speaker 2: plays out. And it's actually made the preseason very interesting
- 6:46Speaker 2: because you know, if, well, let's just say, what if
- 6:53Speaker 2: Kyler doesn't look good this preseason? Not wishing anything on anybody,
- 6:59Speaker 2: I'm just saying I'm just throwing out different scenarios here
- 7:01Speaker 2: on the Sports Done Right podcasts. You know, you still
- 7:06Speaker 2: got people even talking about yay, the Carson Wentz is
- 7:08Speaker 2: still here in the mix. Can he actually wind up
- 7:12Speaker 2: being the backup quarterback? Do you trade JJ McCarthy. You know,
- 7:17Speaker 2: I heard something on the radio last week. I think
- 7:22Speaker 2: about what was that listening. I think CBS Sports Radio
- 7:25Speaker 2: or something, driving around and they were talking about, Okay,
- 7:29Speaker 2: if JJ doesn't get the starting quarterback job in Minnesota,
- 7:34Speaker 2: do you try and just put together some type of package.
- 7:36Speaker 2: Maybe get him back out with his college coach in
- 7:40Speaker 2: LA with the Chargers Harbaugh, and see if you can
- 7:44Speaker 2: just kind of get rid of them on the cheap.
- 7:47Speaker 2: That way, JJ can go, maybe sit a year or
- 7:50Speaker 2: two without the pressure of starting, learn their system, and
- 7:55Speaker 2: then you.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Know, when.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Their quarterback is ready to move on, JJ is ready
- 8:03Speaker 2: to step in and a little bit more familiarity with
- 8:06Speaker 2: this college coach, and maybe it just works out better.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I mean, you know, you've seen it time and time again.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Sometimes people just need a change of scenery. You know,
- 8:16Speaker 2: I never wished anything bad on JJ McCarthy at all.
- 8:20Speaker 2: You know, I was rooting for Michigan to win a
- 8:22Speaker 2: national championship with all the SEC friends and people I
- 8:26Speaker 2: deal with in the podcast world. But you know, change
- 8:32Speaker 2: of seeing me, change of scenery, excuse me, may do
- 8:35Speaker 2: JJ's some good as well. So we'll just have to
- 8:39Speaker 2: see how it all plays out. I really like the
- 8:41Speaker 2: Vikings and what they're doing and all, you know, and
- 8:45Speaker 2: the rest of their team, and over on the defensive
- 8:48Speaker 2: side of the ball, a lot of young guns over there,
- 8:51Speaker 2: which I'm very excited to see play and see who
- 8:54Speaker 2: kind of steps up their game to claim to the
- 8:56Speaker 2: leadership role over on the defensive side. And often, Yeah,
- 9:00Speaker 2: if we can get this quarterback thing figured out, Hey,
- 9:03Speaker 2: we still got some receivers and some running backs and
- 9:07Speaker 2: hopefully an improved offensive line. And this could be very
- 9:10Speaker 2: interesting because we'll get into the NFC a little bit
- 9:14Speaker 2: more on my next show where we'll get into predictions
- 9:17Speaker 2: and kind of break down the actual division as a whole.
- 9:21Speaker 2: But this is going to be a very interesting division.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Yet again, you know, with all the stuff we were
- 9:25Speaker 2: talking about last year with the Minnesota Vikings, what were
- 9:28Speaker 2: they half game out of making the playoffs or a game?
- 9:31Speaker 2: I mean never right there for sneaking into the playoffs
- 9:33Speaker 2: with all the stuff that was going wrong last year.
- 9:37Speaker 2: So if we can get the stuff together this year, man,
- 9:41Speaker 2: watch out you never know but one step of the time,
- 9:46Speaker 2: and that starts with the first preseason game against the
- 9:49Speaker 2: New York Giants this weekend. I'm excited. I'm excited. We
- 9:55Speaker 2: got a quarterback controversy and we're going to see how
- 9:58Speaker 2: it plays out. Wishing Kylie Kyler Murray the best. Actually,
- 10:03Speaker 2: as you probably saw my Facebook post over at Tommy
- 10:06Speaker 2: Kramer's house, him and my buddy Buddy Becker. My friend
- 10:09Speaker 2: Buddy Becker, they are friends with Kyler Murray's uncle, Calvin,
- 10:15Speaker 2: who used to play Major League baseball and ironically he
- 10:21Speaker 2: was the guy up the bat with the San Francisco
- 10:23Speaker 2: Giants when Randy Johnson threw the pitch that killed the
- 10:27Speaker 2: bird in mid flight. And Calvin also lets you know
- 10:32Speaker 2: that on the next pitch he actually got a double
- 10:34Speaker 2: off of Randy Johnson. So but yeah, very interesting, Excited
- 10:40Speaker 2: for Kyler Murray, Excited for the Vikings team, and let's
- 10:43Speaker 2: just hope that it works out because you can't keep going.
- 10:47Speaker 2: You know, man, just google Vikings quarterbacks over the past
- 10:51Speaker 2: thirty years or something. I mean, the amount of names
- 10:54Speaker 2: on the list is incredible. So we got to get
- 10:57Speaker 2: this figured out and get back to a franchise quarterback.
- 11:01Speaker 2: H What can I say?
- 11:02Speaker 4: Man? What can I say?
- 11:04Speaker 2: All right, quick break? When we come back, Minnesota Vixen's
- 11:08Speaker 2: offensive line coach Michelle Brown's gonna join us, and we
- 11:11Speaker 2: got that interview queued up. We'll be right back. Sports

- 12:04Speaker 2: I thank you there, mister Geffery. So let's get into
- 12:07Speaker 2: this interview with coach Michelle Bron. It's a good one.
- 12:10Speaker 2: It's about just over a half an hour or so.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Settle in real good one. Minnesota Vixen, as we've been
- 12:18Speaker 2: talking about online and then social media, won the WFA
- 12:22Speaker 2: Women's Football Alliance Championship over the Pittsburgh Passion killed them. Well,
- 12:27Speaker 2: what was it forty two to fourteen or something. I mean, man,
- 12:32Speaker 2: all Minnesota watched the game, watch the highlights. Phenomenal job
- 12:37Speaker 2: by the team. So let's get to it here, great
- 12:40Speaker 2: interview with Michelle Bron. All right, everybody, Vince Right, sports
- 12:47Speaker 2: governor here on Sports Done Right podcast, and we are
- 12:51Speaker 2: celebrating a football championship in Minnesota, Minnesota Vixen meeting the
- 12:56Speaker 2: Pittsburgh Passion, and we are honored to have coach Michelle Lebron.
- 13:00Speaker 2: She coaches the offensive line and the reason and we
- 13:05Speaker 2: were just talking beforehand. Here the reason I wanted to
- 13:08Speaker 2: have the coach on. You know, there's a lot of
- 13:11Speaker 2: misconceptions with women's sports in general, and I'm going to
- 13:16Speaker 2: tell you guys right now, make sure you watch not
- 13:20Speaker 2: only the Vixen but the WFA. Great football, great quality product.
- 13:27Speaker 2: And for any kind of dude out there'd be like, oh, man,
- 13:31Speaker 2: women's football. Blah blah blah blah, doing yourself a disservice man.
- 13:35Speaker 2: So with that being said, coach, thank you for joining
- 13:39Speaker 2: us tonight on the Sports or Sports dumb Right podcast.
- 13:41Speaker 2: How are you?
- 13:43Speaker 4: I'm great, Vince, Thank you again for having me on.
- 13:47Speaker 4: It's such an honor. You know, I've followed your podcast
- 13:49Speaker 4: for a while. I've followed you on on X and
- 13:52Speaker 4: formerly Twitter, I still call it Twitter. You know, you're
- 13:56Speaker 4: in Minnesota, sports homer like I am.
- 14:00Speaker 5: Know.
- 14:00Speaker 4: It's just great being here. It's great being and enlightening
- 14:03Speaker 4: your viewers. You know, there's so many rooms that are
- 14:06Speaker 4: out there that that are so sad in the winter
- 14:09Speaker 4: time and the spring because there's no football out right. Dudes,
- 14:14Speaker 4: come to a Vixen game, come to a w f
- 14:17Speaker 4: A game. Man. We put out a great product. It's
- 14:20Speaker 4: a great atmosphere at Handling. We've got food trucks, We've
- 14:24Speaker 4: got great fans. We have almost over one thousand and
- 14:27Speaker 4: eleven hundred fans per game. We just put out a
- 14:31Speaker 4: really great product. And you want to see really great
- 14:33Speaker 4: quality football with a lot of good hitting, a really
- 14:37Speaker 4: good quality offense and defense. Come out to our games.
- 14:41Speaker 4: It's just a lot of fun. And if you want
- 14:44Speaker 4: to see, you know, a good product and you still
- 14:47Speaker 4: want to you know, get involved and see football, come
- 14:49Speaker 4: out and watch a game. It's just a lot of fun.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Oh absolutely. I mean, I'm definitely gonna be there next
- 14:55Speaker 2: season and that and that's the thing. Because now we
- 14:58Speaker 2: have the internet, we have YouTube. And I implore you, folks,
- 15:01Speaker 2: because that's what I've been doing the past few days
- 15:03Speaker 2: since we finalized the interview with Coach Brown. Here is
- 15:07Speaker 2: watching WFA football and amaze amazing. And you know, I
- 15:15Speaker 2: don't want to sound condescending when I say that, but
- 15:18Speaker 2: I think that's the hangup when you know, especially guys,
- 15:21Speaker 2: they think, oh women's football, blah blah blah. Man Like
- 15:26Speaker 2: you said, coach, there is some excellent hitting, some great
- 15:29Speaker 2: play calling, some great d passing, some great football is
- 15:34Speaker 2: what it is. So how did you find your way
- 15:37Speaker 2: to football? You know? And you know as a kid
- 15:40Speaker 2: growing up.
- 15:42Speaker 4: Well, you know, I've always been a football fan for
- 15:43Speaker 4: whatever reason. Since I've been five years old. I've been
- 15:46Speaker 4: a Vikings and Gophers fan for the for the longest time.
- 15:50Speaker 4: You know. I grew up in the town of Hutchinson,
- 15:53Speaker 4: big football town, Grady and Andy Rosberg have made Hushinson
- 15:57Speaker 4: football the namesake and state of Minnesota grew up with that.
- 16:03Speaker 4: Grew up, you know, as a junior and senior in
- 16:05Speaker 4: high school. Our boys won the state championship. When I
- 16:08Speaker 4: was a junior and senior, idolized those guys as far
- 16:12Speaker 4: as what they got to accomplish, and you know, it
- 16:16Speaker 4: just was always was always a Homer, was always a
- 16:19Speaker 4: dream playing football. And when I was thirty one years old,
- 16:22Speaker 4: I got a chance in nineteen ninety nine to have
- 16:26Speaker 4: a little one inch ad in the Star Tribune saying
- 16:30Speaker 4: Women's staff of Football Tryouts Metro Dome. Well, if you
- 16:33Speaker 4: were a kid, if you were a person that loved football,
- 16:36Speaker 4: and you got to go to the Metro Dome to
- 16:38Speaker 4: go try out and play football, would you do it?
- 16:41Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 16:41Speaker 4: So I answered the ad and it was the at
- 16:45Speaker 4: that time it was the WPFL, which is the Women's
- 16:47Speaker 4: Professional Football League, which was a league that two gentlemen,
- 16:51Speaker 4: Carter Turner and Terry Sullivan. Terry Sullivan was involved in
- 16:55Speaker 4: the in semi pro men's football in Minnesota in the
- 17:00Speaker 4: area for a long time and he wanted to kind
- 17:03Speaker 4: of jump on at the success of the women's professional
- 17:07Speaker 4: soccer in the World Cup that had won in nineteen
- 17:10Speaker 4: ninety nine, and so he barnes we were going to
- 17:15Speaker 4: have a barn storming tour. He wanted to have kind
- 17:17Speaker 4: of like the Harlem Globetrotters versus the Washington Generals and
- 17:22Speaker 4: kind of have a barn storming tour. So he had
- 17:26Speaker 4: nationwide tryouts and into Canada for we had to think
- 17:31Speaker 4: the first tryout at the Metro Dome. I think we
- 17:33Speaker 4: had over three hundred women trying out. I was there
- 17:37Speaker 4: that at that time in November, and then we started
- 17:40Speaker 4: in the fall of ninety nine. I got to make
- 17:43Speaker 4: one of eighty spots and so it was the Lake
- 17:45Speaker 4: Michigan Minks mythical Lake Michigan Minks team and the Minnesota Vixen,
- 17:50Speaker 4: and it was we had forty each on a roster
- 17:53Speaker 4: and we played a six game season barn storming tour
- 17:58Speaker 4: of the Midwest to her interest in this league. And
- 18:04Speaker 4: it was great in the effect that we garnered interest.
- 18:08Speaker 4: It wasn't great as being a Vixen because we lost
- 18:10Speaker 4: every single game, but it did work because it did
- 18:16Speaker 4: start the modern era of women's tackle football. You know,
- 18:19Speaker 4: back in the nineteen seventies, women's tackle football was a
- 18:23Speaker 4: thing and it was really big. They even made a
- 18:27Speaker 4: TV movie about it in like nineteen seventy six, nineteen
- 18:32Speaker 4: seventy seven. It was called the Oklahoma City Dolls. That
- 18:36Speaker 4: was actually the team name. But the Toledo Troopers at
- 18:39Speaker 4: that time were huge women's tackle football. It was a dynasty.
- 18:44Speaker 4: And I actually played against a lady that played for
- 18:47Speaker 4: the Toledo Troopers, Mitchie Collette. She was a coach of
- 18:51Speaker 4: a Toledo team that we played later in the early
- 18:53Speaker 4: two thousands. But that's kind of where it started, and
- 18:59Speaker 4: you know, we just kept going from there on. You know,
- 19:01Speaker 4: we are the longest continually operating women's tackle football team
- 19:05Speaker 4: in the nation. Nobody has been going for you know,
- 19:08Speaker 4: twenty seven years. As we've been still operating and being
- 19:11Speaker 4: successful and now finally to put the icing on the
- 19:15Speaker 4: cake and win a championship has just been fantastic.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Exactly. So let's talk about the Vigson here. So you
- 19:22Speaker 2: are the offensive line coach, if you could tell people,
- 19:27Speaker 2: I mean, because I think that's really the bread and butter,
- 19:30Speaker 2: the offensive line. What is it about the offensive line
- 19:33Speaker 2: that is so important to the football team.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Well, it's big. You know, I'm actually the co offensive
- 19:39Speaker 4: line coach. My other offensive line coach is Maria Beck.
- 19:41Speaker 4: She's actually was a former player as well. I played
- 19:44Speaker 4: with her, she played for fifteen seasons and she's actually
- 19:48Speaker 4: been our This is her second year of coaching offensive
- 19:50Speaker 4: line with me, so she's been really vital to our
- 19:54Speaker 4: success as well. You know, people just underestimate the offensive line,
- 19:58Speaker 4: which really ticks me off because if you don't have
- 20:02Speaker 4: a good offensive line, you can't do anything. And it's
- 20:05Speaker 4: hard because I think I think the way offensive line
- 20:10Speaker 4: is being viewed has evolved, which is great because you know,
- 20:15Speaker 4: it was kind of a position where, you know, you,
- 20:19Speaker 4: for lack of a better word, you stuck overweight people
- 20:22Speaker 4: and in people with maybe not a lot of skill.
- 20:25Speaker 4: But that's really evolved, and thank goodness it has because
- 20:30Speaker 4: it's shown that you have to have skill, you have
- 20:32Speaker 4: to have strength, speed, power, agility, quickness, and you have
- 20:37Speaker 4: to be successful at those things. To be able to
- 20:40Speaker 4: do that, you have to have five people playing as
- 20:43Speaker 4: one mind and being able to do that at the
- 20:46Speaker 4: same time, which is extremely hard. You know, you have
- 20:50Speaker 4: one quarterback, you have one running back, maybe you have
- 20:52Speaker 4: one receiver, but you have to have five people playing
- 20:55Speaker 4: as one, which is really hard to do. And I
- 21:00Speaker 4: think that's what actually gets overlooked as offensive line. For Yeah, So,
- 21:06Speaker 4: I mean as far as coaching that, you know, you
- 21:09Speaker 4: have to there's a lot of different aspects you have
- 21:12Speaker 4: to coach with that. So and and actually now I'm
- 21:15Speaker 4: also coaching Augsburg. I'm the assistant offensive line coach at
- 21:18Speaker 4: Augsburg men's football as well, And you know, that's kind
- 21:21Speaker 4: of one of the things I'm hoping to instill in
- 21:23Speaker 4: these guys this this this fall, the summer too. You know,
- 21:27Speaker 4: they've got to trust each other. And that's the hardest
- 21:29Speaker 4: thing you got to do, is you've got to trust
- 21:31Speaker 4: each other, and you've gotta be you got to be
- 21:34Speaker 4: a family out there, and you've got to be able
- 21:37Speaker 4: to kind of instinctially know what each other is doing,
- 21:42Speaker 4: which is hard.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Well, you mentioned you're also the coach over at Augsburg
- 21:46Speaker 2: and the men's team, and let's just take a pivot
- 21:49Speaker 2: over there as well. What has that been like. Has
- 21:52Speaker 2: there been any pushback? You know, just the usual stuff.
- 21:56Speaker 2: You know, all this lady's gonna come in and try
- 21:59Speaker 2: and tell me what to do, all that stuff. What's
- 22:01Speaker 2: it been like being a coach on a men's football
- 22:04Speaker 2: team over there on the collegiate level.
- 22:07Speaker 4: You know, I've been very lucky. The staff has been
- 22:09Speaker 4: very good over there. That the gentlemen last year were
- 22:12Speaker 4: very welcoming to me. I won't lie the first day
- 22:16Speaker 4: they were kind of I was kind of getting some
- 22:18Speaker 4: looks like who are you? Like, what's going on? Like
- 22:20Speaker 4: what is it? But that faded extremely fast. I try
- 22:26Speaker 4: to be very disarming to people. Sometimes I can be
- 22:30Speaker 4: kind of quiet. Sometimes I can be very not loud,
- 22:33Speaker 4: but I can be I try to be disarming in
- 22:36Speaker 4: certain ways. But I just try to be I try
- 22:40Speaker 4: to gauge a room, you know. But everybody's been very
- 22:46Speaker 4: very welcoming, very good. Coach keiwan Ware, who's the head
- 22:50Speaker 4: coach there, made me feel very welcome and made it
- 22:53Speaker 4: just seem very seamless, which is I'm very grateful for.
- 22:58Speaker 4: I'm very grateful to be back there this this the
- 23:00Speaker 4: summer of this fall. We're gonna be actually starting Saturday,
- 23:04Speaker 4: so it's just like right back into the end of
- 23:06Speaker 4: the fire again. But it's been very good and it's
- 23:10Speaker 4: nice because they listen to me, which is good. So
- 23:14Speaker 4: you know that that's actually good. So, but it's just
- 23:18Speaker 4: it's just a little different. It's just a little different verbiage,
- 23:20Speaker 4: a little different, but it's the same thing. You know,
- 23:23Speaker 4: we're doing the same thing. So it's just it's just
- 23:26Speaker 4: a little different nuance. Yeah.
- 23:28Speaker 2: And then and that's exactly kind of where I was
- 23:30Speaker 2: going with it, between coaching men and women. So and
- 23:33Speaker 2: that's phenomenal that Augsburg has welcomed you the way that
- 23:36Speaker 2: they have their real quick before we pivot back to
- 23:41Speaker 2: the Vixen, just for our local crowd here, how's Augsburg
- 23:46Speaker 2: been doing in football? You know, it's been a roller
- 23:49Speaker 2: coaster over there, you know for you know, years and
- 23:52Speaker 2: years and years. They've had some good times, some bad times. Uh,
- 23:56Speaker 2: present day Augsburg football, what's it like and where's it going?
- 24:00Speaker 4: Well, I'm hoping this year is a little bit better. Man.
- 24:03Speaker 4: You know, the Mayac is tough, the Maak and the
- 24:06Speaker 4: Mayac is is just brutal. You know what amazes me
- 24:11Speaker 4: is just to see, uh, the changes and the battles within.
- 24:18Speaker 4: You know, you've got your stalwarts like Saint John's and
- 24:21Speaker 4: and seeing Bethel just get so much better, but seeing
- 24:24Speaker 4: you know, just places different like Saint Olaf Carlton. But
- 24:28Speaker 4: you know, I'm really excited to see what Augsburg is
- 24:30Speaker 4: going to do this year. You know, We've got a
- 24:33Speaker 4: lot of our staff is back, a lot of our
- 24:35Speaker 4: players are back. We've got some new additions. We've got
- 24:38Speaker 4: some really interesting freshmen coming back. Our our quarterback is back,
- 24:44Speaker 4: Hayden Roanovich is back, and he's I think he's going
- 24:46Speaker 4: to be even more comfortable as has his as his
- 24:50Speaker 4: second year into this system. So I think he's going
- 24:53Speaker 4: to be more comfortable in things. And I'm just really
- 24:57Speaker 4: excited to see the vibe of camp and to see
- 25:03Speaker 4: how their intensity comes up, especially the seniors, and just
- 25:06Speaker 4: kind of understanding like, look, this is your last year
- 25:09Speaker 4: of football, you know, and now it's make or break time.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Now you've got to step up and and and bring
- 25:15Speaker 4: that physicality and bring that intensity and then just really
- 25:20Speaker 4: show what your what you can do from what you
- 25:23Speaker 4: learned last year and kind of you know, those types
- 25:25Speaker 4: of things. So I'm just excited to what what we're
- 25:28Speaker 4: going to be able to accomplish this year.
- 25:30Speaker 2: Good to hear. Good to hear. Now, let me ask
- 25:32Speaker 2: you this getting back to the Vixen here and this
- 25:36Speaker 2: championship season, which has just been phenomenal. What's it been
- 25:42Speaker 2: like for you to witness this? I mean we'll get
- 25:44Speaker 2: into the games here and then talk about a couple
- 25:46Speaker 2: of the players here in just a moment, but just
- 25:49Speaker 2: you know, on a personal level, as a coach on
- 25:51Speaker 2: this team, what has this season been like for you?
- 25:54Speaker 2: Because you know you've been close before, didn't win it,
- 25:57Speaker 2: and now you finally got over that hump, and then
- 25:59Speaker 2: in a coming in fashion against the Pittsburgh passion as well.
- 26:02Speaker 2: I mean no disrespect to Pittsburgh, but Minnesota came out
- 26:08Speaker 2: to play and then they put it on them.
- 26:11Speaker 4: Well, you know, Vince, I tell you, you know, we
- 26:13Speaker 4: played I played in I played in as a player,
- 26:16Speaker 4: I played in two previous championships, and I was a
- 26:19Speaker 4: coach in two previous championships. And you know, I'm always
- 26:24Speaker 4: an internal optimist. I always believe you got a chance
- 26:27Speaker 4: any given Sunday, right, any given Saturday, any given game.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Anybody can be anybody, right, and so I always have
- 26:34Speaker 4: that mindset.
- 26:36Speaker 6: But sometimes you kind of come into a game and
- 26:40Speaker 6: like in our games, you know, we kind of came
- 26:42Speaker 6: into a game and it was like, man, this is
- 26:45Speaker 6: not working.
- 26:46Speaker 4: You know, this is not our this is not our game,
- 26:49Speaker 4: and you're kind of like, crap, that's just not gonna work.
- 26:53Speaker 4: And that's kind of how it happened with our four
- 26:55Speaker 4: previous games, and you kind of just kind of know
- 26:58Speaker 4: what and then it sucks and it's sad and you
- 27:01Speaker 4: ugly cry and it's just, you know, crappy and you
- 27:05Speaker 4: kind of like, you know, you you know, would it
- 27:07Speaker 4: could have should and all that stuff. But this season
- 27:12Speaker 4: was just it was just weird. First of all, for me,
- 27:15Speaker 4: I was a little bit more disconnected from it because
- 27:18Speaker 4: being at Augsburg, I wasn't at any of the trouts,
- 27:21Speaker 4: so I didn't know. I didn't know any of these
- 27:23Speaker 4: new rookies until like January when I started practice with them,
- 27:28Speaker 4: So I didn't know any of these new rookies. I
- 27:30Speaker 4: was like hearing things and everything. So when I started
- 27:33Speaker 4: in January practicing with everybody, I didn't know, like who
- 27:35Speaker 4: these people were. And knowing what I knew and then
- 27:39Speaker 4: fighting out and seeing how they were in practice, I
- 27:41Speaker 4: was kind of like, this vibe is different, vibe is different,
- 27:45Speaker 4: the whole thing is different. And as the games went out,
- 27:49Speaker 4: and I was really bombed because I was actually I'm
- 27:51Speaker 4: actually the flag coach over at Augsburg like football. Women's
- 27:54Speaker 4: flag football were Oxburg as well in the spring, and
- 27:58Speaker 4: the first game we played against Saint Louis, I couldn't
- 28:00Speaker 4: go to that because we were having our flag championships
- 28:03Speaker 4: at TCOLT at Tcol for Augsburg, so I couldn't go
- 28:08Speaker 4: to that first game. And I told those guys that said, look,
- 28:10Speaker 4: I said, have you guys won that game? I said,
- 28:12Speaker 4: you guys, go down there and you beat Saint Louis,
- 28:14Speaker 4: which is our huge rival, don't get me wrong, huge rival.
- 28:18Speaker 4: I said, I will go in my cul de Sac
- 28:20Speaker 4: and I will film myself hollering and everything if we win.
- 28:27Speaker 4: And as soon as unfortunately, we lost out in our championship,
- 28:31Speaker 4: so I got to be starting to watch that game
- 28:32Speaker 4: pretty early. And I watched the game and I was
- 28:35Speaker 4: just stunned. I was like, what is going on? Like
- 28:38Speaker 4: we were just like handling these guys, like what's going on?
- 28:41Speaker 4: And we won the game sure enough. I filmed myself
- 28:44Speaker 4: hoop it and hollering in my cul de sac, put
- 28:46Speaker 4: it on our team chat and from there on in
- 28:51Speaker 4: and was like just different vibe. It was just a
- 28:53Speaker 4: different vibe.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Let me ask you this, where are I haven't written
- 29:01Speaker 2: down here on my phone a nice formal question. Where
- 29:04Speaker 2: are the next great female players coming from? Coach Brown?
- 29:09Speaker 2: Are you seeing more young ladies? Well, I mean, obviously
- 29:13Speaker 2: we are, because as you said, now we have flag
- 29:15Speaker 2: football leagues in the NFL has actually put in a
- 29:18Speaker 2: lot of money and then trying to get leagues going.
- 29:21Speaker 2: So those next generation of players, where are you seeing
- 29:24Speaker 2: them come from?
- 29:26Speaker 4: Well, you know events. Actually it's interesting because some of
- 29:29Speaker 4: these players are playing tackle football. A couple are, like
- 29:33Speaker 4: our offense. One of our co offensive Rookie of the
- 29:36Speaker 4: Year was our starting right guard Natalie Kellamu, who was
- 29:42Speaker 4: who had played high school tackle football at Modamia and
- 29:47Speaker 4: she played tackle football there, So you know, you know,
- 29:52Speaker 4: some of them are playing in high school and and
- 29:54Speaker 4: bless those coaches that are allowing those ladies to play.
- 29:58Speaker 4: You know, the team we've played out in Utah, the
- 30:01Speaker 4: Salt Lakes Salt Lake City team, they have a whole league,
- 30:05Speaker 4: high school league out there that plays tackle football, uh
- 30:08Speaker 4: for for women for girls out in elt in Utah.
- 30:13Speaker 4: They don't play by the exactly same rules that we
- 30:16Speaker 4: play in the w f A and which is college
- 30:18Speaker 4: n Cuba rules. But you know, I think we always
- 30:23Speaker 4: looked and we've always recruited players who have played multiple sports, basketball, soccer, lacrosse, hockey,
- 30:33Speaker 4: you know those types, softball, any type of active sport.
- 30:37Speaker 4: So now you've got excuse me, flag players. You do
- 30:43Speaker 4: have people that have played tackle football. You know a
- 30:45Speaker 4: lot of our players played tackle football, some of them
- 30:48Speaker 4: up until ninth tenth grade. So the opportunities are there,
- 30:53Speaker 4: you know, if if if the player, if the girl
- 30:57Speaker 4: and the woman wants to play, or if the parents
- 31:00Speaker 4: want to allow them to play, it's just kind of
- 31:03Speaker 4: up to the coach and up to the system if
- 31:05Speaker 4: they want to allow that.
- 31:07Speaker 2: So yeah, very interesting. And Mona meat I kind of
- 31:11Speaker 2: close to my heart. That's where my ex wife graduated
- 31:13Speaker 2: from and so my kid, we you know, spent a
- 31:17Speaker 2: lot of time out there on that field at that
- 31:18Speaker 2: stadium and everything. So yeah, very cool that mount of
- 31:21Speaker 2: meat I did that. That's awesome. Yeah, all right, so
- 31:24Speaker 2: let me ask you this here. We got a few
- 31:26Speaker 2: more minutes here with coach Brown here on the Sports
- 31:27Speaker 2: un Right podcast. Everyone was there a particular time during
- 31:31Speaker 2: the season, coach where you said, this team is different
- 31:35Speaker 2: we may be able to really do something, maybe win
- 31:39Speaker 2: that championship. Was there a moment, a game or something that,
- 31:44Speaker 2: you know, anytime this season that gave you that thought.
- 31:49Speaker 4: I would. I think when we when we beat Saint
- 31:53Speaker 4: Louis in our first round playoff game, and the way
- 31:57Speaker 4: we beat Saint Louis, you know, we unfortunately because of
- 32:02Speaker 4: the proximity of them, you know, we sometimes play them
- 32:05Speaker 4: three times in a season, playoffs included. We played them
- 32:09Speaker 4: the first game of the season. Excuse me. We played
- 32:13Speaker 4: them at home, and we played very poorly. Our defense
- 32:17Speaker 4: played great, but our offense did not. And they were
- 32:21Speaker 4: a very very physical football team, and we just did
- 32:26Speaker 4: not play up to our offensive expectations and left a
- 32:31Speaker 4: lot of things out there. And we think and we
- 32:35Speaker 4: also missed three field goals, which doesn't help. So we
- 32:39Speaker 4: lost ten to seven. But when we went to play
- 32:42Speaker 4: them again in the playoffs, in the first round of playoffs,
- 32:45Speaker 4: we got to host that game, and we kind of
- 32:50Speaker 4: changed our mindset in our play calling and had some
- 32:55Speaker 4: things out that we'd never done before. We did something
- 33:00Speaker 4: is like some reversus some statue of liberty plays, did
- 33:05Speaker 4: some things that they weren't expecting and I had told
- 33:07Speaker 4: our head coach Connor Joe Lewis months back. I said,
- 33:11Speaker 4: you know, we need a in case of emergency break
- 33:14Speaker 4: glass play, Like you know, it's third and fifteen, we're
- 33:19Speaker 4: down by three, third quarter. We need something. And you know,
- 33:24Speaker 4: as she degreed, yeah, we need to figure that out.
- 33:26Speaker 4: And we kind of brewed it right, We didn't really
- 33:29Speaker 4: talk about it, and all of a sudden, like like
- 33:33Speaker 4: a week before that game or so, she pulls out
- 33:36Speaker 4: all this stuff and I'm like, wow, okay, great, let's
- 33:40Speaker 4: let's say I'm all for that. I love I love
- 33:44Speaker 4: gadget plays, I love all that stuff. You know, I
- 33:47Speaker 4: always believe that that stuff can work because it does. It.
- 33:50Speaker 4: It worked, You've seen it, people use it. But you
- 33:54Speaker 4: have to be able to show that you can work.
- 33:58Speaker 4: And it did. It worked really well for us. If
- 34:00Speaker 4: you looked at that playoff game against Saint Louis, we
- 34:03Speaker 4: just really they just didn't have any answer for what
- 34:08Speaker 4: we were able to do. And they were a very
- 34:09Speaker 4: good football team. They were two time defending WFA champions,
- 34:13Speaker 4: and we just really just put them back in their
- 34:16Speaker 4: spot and it was a really really resounding win for us.
- 34:21Speaker 4: And when we won that game. I knew going to
- 34:23Speaker 4: Salt Lake would be tough. They're a very good football team.
- 34:27Speaker 4: You know, they had won the D two championship the
- 34:29Speaker 4: year before. Anytime you win the D two championship, you
- 34:31Speaker 4: go up to the pro level, and I knew it
- 34:33Speaker 4: was gonna be tough. But I knew when we won
- 34:38Speaker 4: that game, I thought, Okay, here's our shot. I think
- 34:41Speaker 4: we have a shot here. And so you know, from
- 34:43Speaker 4: that on that I think it was it was a
- 34:45Speaker 4: good possibility, absolutely, and you know that brings us right
- 34:49Speaker 4: up to the championship game, Pittsburgh Passion.
- 34:53Speaker 2: You know, I just before we hit the air tonight,
- 34:57Speaker 2: I was watching highlights of that game. Again, I watched
- 35:01Speaker 2: the game a little bit when it was actually on,
- 35:03Speaker 2: was on ESPN two. And again that's really why I
- 35:09Speaker 2: wanted to reach out to you, coach, because I was
- 35:12Speaker 2: again just blown away, not only by the team's performance.
- 35:16Speaker 2: I mean, this was professional football, the play calling, the execution.
- 35:24Speaker 2: As I pull up a couple names here that jumped out,
- 35:27Speaker 2: in particular, we're running back my namesake, tiff right, the
- 35:32Speaker 2: quarterback Aaron Kelly, who I mean, great arm, phenomenal, and
- 35:39Speaker 2: obviously many more names you know, we could be here
- 35:41Speaker 2: all night talking about the entire team, but you know,
- 35:44Speaker 2: I mean it was just the massacre that was put
- 35:48Speaker 2: on Pittsburgh, and Pittsburgh obviously a very good team. They
- 35:51Speaker 2: just had no answers for what you guys were doing.
- 35:55Speaker 4: You know, our coaches all year, we have done an
- 35:58Speaker 4: amazing job as a staff to game plan. We go
- 36:02Speaker 4: through so much film, and our players buy in to
- 36:05Speaker 4: go through film. You know, you can you have to
- 36:08Speaker 4: be able to understand what to look for in film.
- 36:11Speaker 4: You can't just watch film, right, You have to understand
- 36:14Speaker 4: what you're looking for in film and what you're trying
- 36:16Speaker 4: to understand about film. And our players really understand what
- 36:19Speaker 4: to look for in film, which is great, and they
- 36:22Speaker 4: understand what, you know, what they're looking for when we
- 36:25Speaker 4: look at opponents to scout. But we all bought into
- 36:30Speaker 4: that and we looked at so much film from Pittsburgh.
- 36:34Speaker 4: We have a ton of respect for them. I mean,
- 36:36Speaker 4: first of all, you know they I had watched them
- 36:38Speaker 4: when they had won the IDBFL championship a few years
- 36:42Speaker 4: oh gosh, six or seven, eight years back when they
- 36:46Speaker 4: had won, and I was super impressed with them then.
- 36:48Speaker 4: And that's when they had frank O Harris, the late
- 36:51Speaker 4: frank O Harris was there, was their owner co owner,
- 36:55Speaker 4: and yeah, see he was involved with them, and he
- 36:59Speaker 4: actually went to a practice and was like, wow, this
- 37:02Speaker 4: is fantastic. He just fell in love with it and
- 37:06Speaker 4: he has been had been supporting them up until unfortunately
- 37:10Speaker 4: is untimely passing a lot. I think it was last year. Yeah,
- 37:15Speaker 4: he was a great namestay for them and a great
- 37:19Speaker 4: inspiration and owner for them for many years. So we
- 37:25Speaker 4: knew that that organization with that type of a backing
- 37:29Speaker 4: was definitely gonna be no joke. But we did a
- 37:32Speaker 4: lot of We did a lot of scouting for them,
- 37:34Speaker 4: and we took them very very seriously. And then Terasa
- 37:36Speaker 4: Cone and their coaching staff is really a great coaching staff.
- 37:41Speaker 4: But you know, our players just came to play. And
- 37:44Speaker 4: I will never ever say this, but I was amazed
- 37:49Speaker 4: how easy it was. And I'll never say that, but
- 37:55Speaker 4: it was super I was expecting, like second quarter, like Okay,
- 38:00Speaker 4: now they're gonna rise up, Now they're gonna now they're
- 38:02Speaker 4: gonna say, wait a minute, weren't this game too, and
- 38:05Speaker 4: they're gonna fight back, and you know, but it just
- 38:08Speaker 4: never happened because we just didn't allow it. We just
- 38:11Speaker 4: didn't We just didn't allow it to happen.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Absolutely. I mean, you know, they got a couple of
- 38:16Speaker 2: touchdowns later in the game, but I mean, you know,
- 38:19Speaker 2: forty two to fourteen, I mean, it was just phenomenal.
- 38:24Speaker 2: And again that's why I was just sucked into it too,
- 38:27Speaker 2: because that was honestly, Coach, that was the first time,
- 38:30Speaker 2: like you know, I've interacted with you on Twitter, but
- 38:34Speaker 2: that was really the first time I sat down and watched,
- 38:39Speaker 2: you know, and all of a sudden, within literally five minutes,
- 38:43Speaker 2: you had another fan. But like I said, great quality football.
- 38:49Speaker 2: And that's the point that I want to try and
- 38:51Speaker 2: get out for people because I want people to show
- 38:53Speaker 2: up at the stadium. I'm definitely gonna be out there
- 38:56Speaker 2: next season doing whatever I can to help support and
- 38:59Speaker 2: promote you guys. But folks, I'm telling you, you know,
- 39:04Speaker 2: then we got YouTube and everything. That's what we have nowadays.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Take a look at the Minnesota Vixon, You're you're gonna
- 39:11Speaker 2: be very impressed by what you see.
- 39:13Speaker 4: Well, you know, you're exactly right, Vince. You know, it's
- 39:15Speaker 4: really says offense, offense wins games, but defense wins championships.
- 39:20Speaker 4: Our defense put an exclamation point on that game. I mean,
- 39:24Speaker 4: our defense just totally came out, and especially in that
- 39:27Speaker 4: first drive, it was like, Yep, there you go, We're
- 39:31Speaker 4: gonna start it off, and they did and it was
- 39:33Speaker 4: just so so flipped and wonderful because I mean, they
- 39:37Speaker 4: just set the tone and they've been tonesetters the entire season,
- 39:40Speaker 4: so that was really really fun to watch and they
- 39:42Speaker 4: really did it and they are are off. Our defensive
- 39:46Speaker 4: coordinator Tim Tim Cornish just did a fantastic job and
- 39:50Speaker 4: he just he deserves all the credit.
- 39:52Speaker 2: He really does absolutely. All right, folks, as we wind
- 39:56Speaker 2: it up here with coach Michelle Bron, first off, thank you.
- 39:59Speaker 2: We you know, I told you about fifteen twenty minutes
- 40:01Speaker 2: we're going on and a half an hour, but I
- 40:03Speaker 2: kind of anticipated that because once you get talking and stuff,
- 40:06Speaker 2: and I've really enjoyed our conversation tonight. Coach, let me
- 40:10Speaker 2: ask you this, when people think women's football Minnesota vixen.
- 40:18Speaker 2: Let me just turn it over to you, because I've
- 40:20Speaker 2: been chatting here and blowing the horn here, but you know,
- 40:23Speaker 2: when people, you know, find out what you do and go, oh,
- 40:28Speaker 2: Minnesota vixen.
- 40:29Speaker 4: What's that?
- 40:31Speaker 2: What do you tell them? What do you do to
- 40:32Speaker 2: try and get them entice and interested? You know, if
- 40:36Speaker 2: they've never heard of women's football, women's tackle football in particular,
- 40:40Speaker 2: or the Minnesota Vixen.
- 40:43Speaker 4: Well I basically tell them, Nick, where have you been?
- 40:45Speaker 4: Because we've been around for twenty seven years, you know,
- 40:50Speaker 4: the vics that have been around for twenty seven years.
- 40:52Speaker 4: We bring a great product to women's soccer football out
- 40:56Speaker 4: for people to enjoy, for people to see. It's full contact,
- 41:00Speaker 4: eleven on eleven. You know, we we have what's cool
- 41:05Speaker 4: about ours is that unfortunately, well it's not cool necessarily,
- 41:09Speaker 4: but it's pay to play. You know. We have women
- 41:11Speaker 4: that are mothers full time.
- 41:14Speaker 3: Uh.
- 41:16Speaker 4: We've had people that have been doctors, lawyers, teachers, police officers, firefighters,
- 41:23Speaker 4: everybody under the sun. And we've had we've had people
- 41:27Speaker 4: that have had four or five children and bring their
- 41:31Speaker 4: kids to games and practices, you know, and and they
- 41:35Speaker 4: come out, but they have such a passion for this sport,
- 41:39Speaker 4: which is which is the coolest thing. And if you've
- 41:41Speaker 4: ever had a passion for something and then you finally
- 41:44Speaker 4: get told that hey you can do this and you
- 41:46Speaker 4: can play this, You're going to want to do it,
- 41:49Speaker 4: and it doesn't matter what the cost of it. Once
- 41:51Speaker 4: you fall in love with something, you're gonna really want
- 41:53Speaker 4: to do it. My hope someday is that we'll get backing,
- 41:58Speaker 4: like you know, we just found out, you know, we've
- 42:00Speaker 4: got I think it's the Minnesota Forage is our new
- 42:04Speaker 4: volleyball team. Owner Craig Leopold from the Wild is backing
- 42:09Speaker 4: the Minnesota Forage, which is the new volleyball team. I'm
- 42:12Speaker 4: hoping that that. You know, I would love it if
- 42:15Speaker 4: the Wolfs could say, hey, we you know, we'd love
- 42:18Speaker 4: to back you guys, and we'd love to have you
- 42:21Speaker 4: play at TCO. I mean, I'd love to be there.
- 42:24Speaker 4: It'd be fantastic, you know. But you know, you hope
- 42:27Speaker 4: and pray, and like I said, I hoped and prayed
- 42:29Speaker 4: for twenty seven years we've been a championship and then happened.
- 42:31Speaker 4: But hey, you know, it'll maybe happen.
- 42:34Speaker 2: I can also exactly because you know the women, you know,
- 42:37Speaker 2: they pay their own expenses, you know, to get to
- 42:40Speaker 2: games on the road. Do you guys act to do
- 42:45Speaker 2: the players get any type of stipend, any type of money.
- 42:49Speaker 4: It's it's really hard. We tried to get we try
- 42:52Speaker 4: to get player sponsorships.
- 42:54Speaker 2: And where I was going next, I saw that on
- 42:56Speaker 2: the website.
- 42:57Speaker 4: Yeah, we try to get player sponsorships. Pay players can work.
- 43:01Speaker 4: We work security shifts to help with player fees and
- 43:05Speaker 4: things like that. The players have a player fee, so
- 43:08Speaker 4: I mean there are things that the players can do.
- 43:11Speaker 4: We we're going to be at the State Fair. So
- 43:13Speaker 4: we're gonna have a move at fan Central at the
- 43:15Speaker 4: State Fair down on dan Patch Avenue. And so if
- 43:19Speaker 4: you are going to come to the State Fair, you
- 43:21Speaker 4: can come say hi to a bunch of Vixen players.
- 43:24Speaker 4: We're gonna be there for the entirety of the State Fair.
- 43:27Speaker 4: We've been there if we've been there for I think,
- 43:29Speaker 4: god since two thousand and five, I think we've been
- 43:31Speaker 4: at the State Fair. So yeah, we'll be there, and yeah,
- 43:36Speaker 4: it's always been a lot of fun. But yeah, players,
- 43:39Speaker 4: you know, anybody can do the Adopt to Vixen on
- 43:41Speaker 4: our website. Anybody can sponsor a Vixen player or coach.
- 43:46Speaker 4: Anybody can talk to Laura and James Brown or owners
- 43:50Speaker 4: and say, hey, gosh, I'd love to get involved in this.
- 43:53Speaker 4: I'd love to help out. I'd love to help sponsor
- 43:56Speaker 4: you guys. You know, we've we've had some really great
- 44:00Speaker 4: answers over the seat over the years that have helped
- 44:02Speaker 4: our season, which has been really helpful. So yeah, anything
- 44:07Speaker 4: and everything that helps us helps this team immensally and
- 44:10Speaker 4: helps keeps it going. So we're very.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Grateful for that. Awesome. Well, I'm gonna do my part.
- 44:17Speaker 2: I've enjoyed our time tonight, and we're just getting started
- 44:20Speaker 2: because you know, I'm gonna be at games, I'm gonna
- 44:23Speaker 2: you know, reach out for press passes and I'm going
- 44:25Speaker 2: to be covering you guys a lot more next year.
- 44:28Speaker 2: And again, Coach Michelle, thank you so much for joining
- 44:32Speaker 2: us tonight. I really appreciate you taking the time and
- 44:35Speaker 2: enlightening the audience about the Minnesota Vicent.
- 44:39Speaker 4: Well, Vince, I know I'm going to be in quite
- 44:40Speaker 4: a lot of more contact with you over the fall
- 44:43Speaker 4: and we're going to talk the vikings and go for football.
- 44:45Speaker 4: So we're gonna have a great time this fall, and
- 44:48Speaker 4: I totally appreciate you giving us a voice and a
- 44:51Speaker 4: platform for doing this. I really appreciate it. Thank you
- 44:54Speaker 4: so much.
- 44:56Speaker 2: Absolutely anytime, coach, thank you, yep, thanks a lot. All right,
- 45:01Speaker 2: there you have a coach Michelle bron bravo, A lot
- 45:05Speaker 2: of fun to chat with her, the education that I
- 45:09Speaker 2: got and excited to cover this team next year and
- 45:12Speaker 2: also to keep an eye on her over at Augsburg
- 45:14Speaker 2: and the Miyak as well. So thank you the Minnesota Vicksen,
- 45:19Speaker 2: champions of the WFA. And there was no doubt in
- 45:23Speaker 2: that game. No doubt. I mean they were up. They
- 45:26Speaker 2: had thirty five points at halftime if I remember correctly,
- 45:29Speaker 2: all Minnesota Vixen in that game, and they came to play.
- 45:33Speaker 2: So congratulations to them again. And actually I'm getting a
- 45:38Speaker 2: quick score update here because the Minnesota Twins are in
- 45:42Speaker 2: the Field of Dreams game tonight with the Philadelphia Phillies.
- 45:47Speaker 2: Twins on the verge and fighting for the last wildcard
- 45:51Speaker 2: spot over in American League. With a sixty and sixty
- 45:54Speaker 2: two record, they're taking on the Phillies Philadelphia as a
- 45:58Speaker 2: record of sixty four and fifty eight, bottom of the eighth.
- 46:01Speaker 2: All Phillies tonight, by the way, seven to one, big
- 46:04Speaker 2: three run inning that I was watching a little bit ago.
- 46:08Speaker 2: But yeah, all Phillies tonight, at least so far. But
- 46:13Speaker 2: what do you think about the field, the Dreams game.
- 46:15Speaker 2: You know, first time I did it? Cool, Now they're
- 46:18Speaker 2: doing it every year? Is it kind of even? You
- 46:21Speaker 2: know with the Twins in the second year here, A
- 46:24Speaker 2: few people are like, Eh, I don't know, but it
- 46:27Speaker 2: is what it is. And the Twins are not looking
- 46:30Speaker 2: good tonight, but who knows, maybe a late evening rally.
- 46:37Speaker 2: All right, So with that being said, I'm gonna get
- 46:39Speaker 2: out of here. Thank you for checking us out on
- 46:41Speaker 2: the Sports some Right podcast again, shouts out to Seventh
- 46:44Speaker 2: Avenue Pizza. I am in the situation room here, so
- 46:49Speaker 2: I am gonna go have myself a little. I think
- 46:52Speaker 2: I'll do a little bourbon tonight, have a little sipper.
- 46:56Speaker 2: I don't know what that's gonna be, but yeah, I
- 46:59Speaker 2: think that's the Sports Gov's going to go with. Thank
